Veterans Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of veterans is both an honorable and challenging task. While the
theme itself is broad and significant, encompassing various aspects of military service, sacrifice,
and the veteran experience, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between depth and breadth.
Firstly, one must navigate the vast history of military service, acknowledging the diverse roles
and contributions of veterans throughout different conflicts and eras. This demands meticulous
research to comprehend the nuances of each period, the challenges faced by veterans, and the
evolution of societal attitudes towards them.
Moreover, addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of veterans' experiences adds
another layer of complexity. Delving into the mental toll of warfare, the struggles with post-
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the often overlooked challenges of reintegration into
civilian life requires a delicate touch to maintain sensitivity while conveying the gravity of the
subject.
Another challenge arises in striking a balance between highlighting the resilience and bravery of
veterans and addressing the systemic issues they may face. Addressing topics such as healthcare,
employment opportunities, and societal perceptions necessitates careful consideration to provide
a comprehensive perspective without oversimplifying or sensationalizing the issues.
Furthermore, the essay should aim to engage readers, fostering empathy and understanding.
Balancing facts and personal narratives, weaving together a compelling narrative that captivates
the audience while educating them on the diverse facets of the veteran experience is a skill that
requires finesse.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme of veterans demands not only a thorough
understanding of historical contexts and personal experiences but also the ability to convey the
emotional and societal impact of military service. It is a challenging but worthwhile endeavor to
pay homage to the sacrifices made by veterans and shed light on the complex issues they often
confront.

Like Water For Chocolate Feminism Essay
Feminism can be defined as the belief that women and men should have equal rights
and opportunities.
I think Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel because the two main characters
in the novel exhibit characteristics that represent what a feminist is. Feminism is the
belief that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities. Tita and
Gertrudis show through their behavior, actions, and language that they believe that
women should be able to live a life with the same rights and opportunities as men.
The first reason Tita supports my belief that Like Water For Chocolateis a feminist
novel is that she demonstrated her feminism by rejecting conforms to social norms
for female behavior and choosing instead her equal right to fully love Pedro by
having an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This quote explains that Gertrudis earned her commission of general by working
brutally hard by fighting in many battles in the Mexican revolution. This is usually
the pattern men adopt to gain the rank they want in a war.
Leadership was in her blood and once she joined the army, she began a rapid ascent
through powerful positions until she arrived at top; ... (9, p179). We learn in this
quote that Gertrudis acts like a feminist because she availed herself of the same
rights and opportunities that men take to rise to the top of their profession. She was
not afraid to show she was a leader and she was not afraid to take opportunities that
came along to show her abilities and be promoted up the military ranks to general.
In conclusion, we see that two main and powerful characters in Like Water For
Chocolate, Tita and Gertrudis, exemplify and demonstrate the traits that feminists
have the ability and fearlessness to take advantage of the same rights and
opportunities that men take advantage of. These two characters support my belief
that Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist

The Passive and Pitiful Ethan Frome Essay
The Passive and Pitiful Ethan Frome
Ethan Frome is a man torn between what he wants to do, and what he should do. Life
in a rural town can be tough, but when faced with complications, it can be almost
unbearable. When Ethan decides to marry his distant cousin, Zeena, his life turns
down a long and lonesome road. Ethan s lack of assertiveness and decisive action only
worsens his already lonesome and stressful life.
Though too intelligent for rural life, Ethan finds himself stuck in an average man s
shoes. Leaving any opportunity he had to become someone in life, Ethan moves back
to Starkfield to take care of his ailing mother and attend to their farm(Wharton 29).
Rather than living a lonesome ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mattie Silver s arrival at the Frome household is everything Ethan needs. His lack
of assertiveness has led to his deep hatred of his wife and his life. He soon falls in
love with young Mattie and when Zeena decides it s time for her to go, Ethan
hesitates to stand up for himself and Mattie. When he is forced to take her away, he
tells Mattie about a story similar to theirs(Wharton, 56); he offers the chance for
them to run away together, but Mattie declines. If Ethan had only made the decision
for them, or stood up to Zeena, his life would be much better off.
When Mattie is finally forced to go, Ethan faces the hardest decision he s ever had
to make. Both Mattie and he are in love with each other and neither of the two know
what to do now that they will be separated forever. Ethan decides to take Mattie to
the train station instead of letting Jotham Powell, which turns out to be one of Ethan
s many bad choices. On their way to the train stop, Ethan takes Mattie sledding for
the first time since she arrived in Starkfield(Wharton, 69). The fun they had together
while sledding only reminded them of what they would be missing when Mattie
finally had to leave. Faced with no where else to go, Mattie suggests to Ethan that
they ride the sled straight in to the big elm so that they ll never have to be apart
again(Wharton, 71). Though Mattie was dreadfully serious about the suggestion,
Kor Water Essay
1.1.Issue
Due to lack of demand, KOR Water has been using Google Docs as its master of
inventory. Reports are received on a weekly basis from various warehousing facilities
and those reports are then added to one centralized Google Doc. Currently, the
company stores inventory at five different locations. The warehouses, their respective
importance and function are as follows:
King s Flair is located in Shenzen, China and serves as KOR s manufacturer as well
as a secondary storage facility for international customers
Global Export Services is located in Hong Kong and serves as KOR s main storage

1.3.Recommendation
There are currently several platforms that have been developed to support a business
that is primarily done via e commerce. These platforms will integrate with the various
business channels and centralize inventory. Since KOR s sales platforms (i.e.
Amazon, www.korwater.com, etc) are decentralized, inventory will be kept in one
bucket; allowing for all inventories at various locations to sync together. This would
mean, if a customer purchases a product on Amazon.com, the inventory will then sync
to all channels.
After researching several different platforms, I have determined that Stitch Labs will
integrate best with KOR s current business channels. The KOR Water website is set
up on a Shopify platform, which runs extremely well with the Stitch bridge. Stitch
also integrates very well with the Amazon channels and will allow KOR to
continuously have a handle on how much inventory is held in each location (USA
and Canada). The platform will also allow us to send additional inventory from within
the Stitch Labs platform.
Once the platform is integrated with KOR s sales channels, the following benefits
will be available:
Operations team will create one .csv file for inventory upon integration. Inventory
will be completely maintained as it flows out to the customer, effectively eliminating
the need for the current system, the Google Doc.
Purchase orders for new production runs will all be
Government Spying On You Without Permission
Do you ever want the government spying on you without permission? This is what
the Department of Homeland Security (D.H.S) is doing to you because of an act
that passed 45 days after the 9/11 attack. The Congress had to rush the act since they
fear more attacks will happen, and was quickly passed without votes. In fact,
homeland security is against our civil liberties (personal freedom). My partner and I
believe that homeland security in the United Statesshould be controlled by the
government because it is against a lot of amendments in the Constitution, and popular
sovereignty (citizen s power).
On the other hand, my opponents might say homeland security sacrifices privacy
for better protection and safety, but in my opinion it is cheating to go through
records without any permission by a guardian or the court. In the United Kingdom,
the government has a law called Do not spy on us which is using the parliament to
stop power on spying citizen s records, this is a great example to the U.S . It also
recommend to have a secure internet for the U.K and to have transparent laws not
secret laws. Also, my opponent might say homeland security is preventing acts of
terrorism and improving their protection since the 9/11 attacks, but in my opinion, the
D.H.S and other police departments are removing privacy from other citizens, many

operated. During this time, travel agent fees were going through the roof and
reserving an airline ticket was a complicated, drawn out process. To counter this,
Southwest implemented its own reservation system tailored to their own needs,
which also included the industry s first paperless ticketing system; but this wasn t the
end of IT innovation from Southwest Airlines. In 1995, Southwest.com was launched,
and the online ticketing and reservation system was launched in 1996. Soon
thereafter, Southwest Airlines ticket sales were primarily coming from their online
reservation system (70%). By the late 90 s, Southwest.com was the most visited
airlinewebsite [4]. By the start of the millennium, Southwest airlines had already
mastered another IT milestone which is still in use to this very day: allowing the
passenger to print their own boarding vouchers and allowing passengers to self check
in on their own computer even before arriving at the airport [4]! By implementing
these two features on the Southwest website, the airline was able to reduce the
number of customer service agents at check in counters and allowed customers to
spend minimal time waiting at an airport [2]. This increases both passenger and staff
efficiency, making the mundane task of waiting around at an airport virtually a thing
of the past.
Industry Analysis:Applying the Porter model to Southwest Airlines, we can see

Beautiful Boy By David Sheff
Abstract
This paper provides a brief summary of the novel Beautiful Boy by David Sheff
(2008) that shows life of his son s struggling drug addiction through the eyes of a
helpless father. This paper also expands on the notion of how substance abuse and
addiction are represented per several factors individual, social, cultural and economic,
as well as what instances/occurrences may have played a significant role in the
development of substance and alcohol addiction Nic, the individual at risk, the
circumstances that may have led David to acknowledge his son s substance abuse
problem, and what factors facilitate recovery. In addition, this paper covers the book
s application to the social work practice, including direct social work ... Show more

Their relationship was strained, and oftentimes nonexistent, up until the point
where Nic hit rock bottom , when he would call his parents and beg for help. While
Nic was out alone struggling to rid himself of his inner demons, David and the rest
of his family dealt with the realities of Nic s drug and alcohol addiction directly. At
first came the denial. The denial that there was even the remote possibility that
their sweet, innocent Nic would become dependent on substance to keep him
remotely functional. Rather than let his son waste away, David utilized his
journalistic abilities and set off to research as much as he could about addiction.
He set out to contact ULCA s top methamphetamine researcher, Dr. Richard
Rawson. As a researcher, Dr. Rawson has no agenda other than fact and truth. He is
completely dedicated to the work he does for one sole reason, to help addicts
(Sheff, 2008, p.277). Alongside research, Sheff also attends Alcoholics Anonymous
and therapy sessions to better grasp what is going on with his son. In these
sessions, he is continuously drilled of the three Cs, you did not cause it, you cannot
control it, and you cannot cure it . Sheff has difficulties accepting all but one of the
three Cs at the end of his memoir. He comes to realize that he cannot control, nor can
he cure Nic s addiction. After years of panic and worry over Nic s wellbeing,
numerous rehab treatments and therapy
Theories Of The Utimatum Game
We consider a two player game, where one player (the proposer) makes an offer to
split an endowment/an amount of money between the two players and the other
player (the responder) can accept or reject the offer in an ultimatum game (but has no
choice in the dictator game).
In an ultimatum game, if the other player accepts, the money is split according to the
proposal and if the other player rejects, neither player receives anything. As suggested
by game theory, the only sub game perfect Nash equilibrium of the game is the
strategy pair in which player one offers zero and player 2 accepts all offers. Rational
responders should accept even the smallest positive offer, since the alternative is
getting nothing. In a large number of human studies, ... Show more content on

As per what the theory predicts (based on non cooperative game theory), the
dictator will allocate nothing to the receiver in a simple dictator game. When
property rights are introduced in the dictator game, dictator earnings treatment , we
expect dictators to produce as much wealth as possible and give nothing to the
receiver and in the receiver earnings treatment, we expect individuals in group Y to
produce the lowest earnings level possible and the proposer to offer a higher share.
(Spraggon, 2008).
Thus, this theory will be validated if we observe in the experiment that the give rate
of the participants fall in the dictator game when property rights are given to
proposers. In that case, we will accept the hypothesis.
In the ultimatum game, the responder will not be willing to accept low offers if he
/she has earned the money and the dictator will not be expected give zero amount
knowing this. If the property rights are with the proposer, then too, he will give be
expected to give more to the responder than in a dictator game, fearing that very low
offers will make the partner reject his/her proposal. If we observe such a behavior,
then the expected theory is
Eating Disorders And The Media
Eating Disorders and the Media Eating disorders have become a major problem
throughout the world, specifically in the United States. The key factor that has an
influence on eating disorders is the media. Including people of all ages and
genders, up to twenty four million people suffer from an eating disorder in the
United States (ANAD np). This is a huge problem in the world today but what
makes it so much worse is the fact that it can be prevented and it is in our control
to change it. Young adults look to these celebrities, which are often their role
models, and try to look just like them. What they fail to remember is the fact that
celebrities have a lot of money, money that can afford nutritionists and personal
trainers. They also fail to remember the extensive measures the celebrities may
have to go through to look the way they do. An example of extensive measures can
be considered plastic surgery. Ultimately, this creates a false goal that is almost
unattainable for the average or regular person. Overall, the media has overtaken a
huge impact on what the ideal body image has become today. Eating disorders are
still on the rise and it is proven that an eating disorder such as anorexia affects up to
5 percent of women from ages 15 30 years old ( Media, Body Image, and Eating
Disorders | National Eating Disorders Association np ). This may not seem that
significant but it is also not considering other eating disorders such as bulimia. All in
all, eating disorders
Google A Web Based Search Engine For The Internet
Back in 1996 two students from Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin,
credited a web based search engine for the internet. The program s first name was
Backrub and was later changed to Google in 1998. Google is one of the best known
and admired companies in the world. Their search engine on the internet today
usually gets 1 billion searches per day. Googlegrew from 10 employees working in a
garage to over 10,000 employees worldwide. Google was the first to put the customer
first into their internet search engines. Their mission statement To organize the world
s information and to make it universally accessible and useful. Google makes it their
commitment to end user needs. While all the other search engines were trying to
increase they re advertisingrevenue. Google went the other direction and left just
their search bar on the title screen and made sure there were no ads. They resisted on
pop up advertising, they felt that it was annoying to the users they insisted they
would have sponsored links for their advertising. They really wanted to put emphasize
on improving customer experience than putting the revenue first. In order to compete
with Microsoft and Yahoo, Google wanted to employ the power of differentiation to
create a competitive advantage over its competitors. They wanted the advantage of
having faster response times, and greater scalability at lower costs on which making
them the most used search engines in the world.

Aslan Analysis
Aslan s death is a very large topic in this book. Some of the questions we ask are
What does it mean? or why on the stone table? and why by the witch s hand? These
are just some of the few questions we ask. Aslan s death had a very large
significance in the story, it was one of the large example s proving that the White
Witch is a cruel and evil woman. In the story you hear the Dwarf and the White
Witch talking about the stone table and how that is where they take people to be
punished or executed, so they take Aslan there to be executed by first tying him to
the stone table while shouting and cheering as if they deserved an award, they
then shaved his mane and said things like Is this what we were afraid of? and How
many mice have you caught today cat? as if mocking him for being a cat, they then
muzzled him and he was executed. This cruel punishment was done by the white
witch because she wanted the honors of killing her enemy all to herself instead of
having any of her monsters doing it for her, because by doing it herself she got the
feeling and true significance of knowing that he was really dead. The entire ordeal
was cruel and wicked, but with that being said, few think that they understand the
reason for killing Aslan. If someone was as evil as the White witch came along to
meet someone as beloved as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That was truly what it all just really meant, the queen wanting to be the most
powerful. Even though white usually represents peace, tranquility, and hope the witch
was none of those things. Aslan represented those things and that is exactly why the
White Witch felt that she needed to do something about it. Supposedly in some
stories it is always the good guy who wins and never the bad guy, sometimes that s
just how it works in
Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy Essay
Idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) is a major health concern, constituting up to
one third of epilepsies (1). They are determined by genetics and affects people of
all sexes and races. Many IGEs are lifelong, and have an onset during childhood or
adolescence (1). One drug that is used to treat IGEs is the barbiturate, phenobarbital
(2). This medication is one of the oldest available antiepileptics, and is low cost and
effective (2). However, there are some serious side effects of the drug which include
somnolence, neuralgic pain, hyperactivity, hypotension, respiratory depression and
impairment of fine motor skills (3). Barbiturates affect the GABA receptor,
specifically the GABAA receptor and are transmitter gated ion channels (4).... Show

Barbiturates also do this via their effect on glutamate receptors by inhibiting the
AMPA subtype of glutamate receptor (7,8).
The increased inhibition of barbiturates leads to depression of the body. It includes
depression of smooth muscles (such as lowering of heart rate, respiration, and blood
pressure), depression of skeletal muscles, diminished brain function (such as impaired
judgement), sedation, and altered emotional responses (9). Some other common side
effects, particularly of phenobarbital, includes dizziness, drowsiness, problems with
memory/concentration, nausea, and vomiting. (9).
Phenobarbital would be my drug of choice within the barbiturate class of drugs. I
would choose to target these class of drugs for epilepsy due to their potency and yet
the severity of side effects. As one of the oldest epileptic drugs, there is room for
improvement with phenobarbital, particularly with the side effects mentioned. Also
of note, there was a study that looked at possibly combining a NKCC1 inhibitor, such
as bumetanide, with phenobarbital to increase the action of the barbiturate (4) or the
combination of phenobarbital and phenytonin (10). I would use these ideas as a
launching point for my research.
If the medicinal chemists could synthesize the drugs that I would use for future
experimentation, and assuming there is no limit to my funding, I would conduct
experiments that would determine the pharmacokinetics, the pharmacodynamics, the
Childhood Tinnitus In Children
Childhood tinnitus can have negative implications on children leading to behavioral
and
psychological problems. Specifically, in concentration, sleeping, learning, listening
and
emotions. This study shows that excessive noise with music, toys, stress or anxiety
can cause
tinnitus. Tinnitus is a ringing or buzzing sound in the ear. Often tinnitus goes
unnoticed in
children because children don t really report symptoms to their parent. If a parent
does seek
professional help for their child, it s because their child is having significant tinnitus.

explanation and

session, the
children with mild symptoms seemed to be fine with just the reassurance. On the
other hand, the
children with bothersome symptoms had a much different treatment. Their treatment
was tinnitus
retraining therapy. TRT consists or hearing aids, psychological treatment to ignore

bothersome then the patients could take short term medications such as muscle
relaxers. I
wouldn t have thought that tinnitus would play a part in behavioral problems but I
can defiantly
see how this disorder would interfere with sleep and concentration, which in turn can
cause
behavioral problems. Thankfully there is treatments that can help relive tinnitus.

It is worth mentioning that BIRADS readings have been found to correlate better
with volumetric rather than area estimation methods despite the fact that visual
assessment is done from a 2D projection of a mammogram, with suggestions that
probably radiologists assessment of breast density from a 2D projection image is
different from that of a software and the radiologist assesses the two views in a semi
volumetric fashion.73This is also probably the reason why density reporting by
radiologists in two view screening shows less variability than one view screening.
In addition BIRADS is a categorical scale and so has limitations to its application
due to its coarseness. For example it cannot be used where monitoring of small
incremental changes in breast density is desired. Using visual BIRADS is also labor
intensive and so needs to be assessed with regard to availability of scarce and
valuable radiologist time especially in the context of a limited resource low and
middle income country (LMIC) like Nigeria.
Despite their limitations, BI RADS density assessment has shown strong relationship
to cancer risk and to risk of missing

Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of
technology can lead to a future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are
Better than Humans. Koons lives in the modern day where advancements are
being made every day in the field of technology and artificial intelligence machines
have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot
rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and
pride, Koons asks the world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the
role it may play in the future. Koons starts off the intro of her satirical essay by using
sarcasm and rhetorical in order to show the audience what is happening with the
world at that time and establish the satire of her essay. In the first sentence, Koons
claims that robots are better than humans, as they are humans favorite things ,
suggesting that the humans basically created their own better version. Koons utilizes
a rhetorical question to ask why humans are still there , showcasing the dispensability
and non necessity of humans when robots are present. By doing so, Koons
demonstrates that humans have, in a way, become the cause of their own downfall.

parishioner Tim, explained how important is for them to keep the church open at
any cost for older parishioners and the only thing that kept them opened was the
desire and willing to help others, to be loving and supportive. Years ago, Whitney
Church was filled with 500 worshipers each Sunday, now Karl noticed that in good
Sunday 40 people attended and most of them were elder.
Even if he found resistance to his initiatives from the elder members, and growing
pressure to increase the number of the church members, his faith in God kept him
motivated to start doing what he had in mind such as a contemporary worship style,
good childcare for young families, and an evangelical outreach to the community.

Nuclear Power Is A Technology
Nuclear Power
Nuclear power is a technology that has enormous benefits for humankind. As the
demand for energy is only continuing to grow, it has become important to develop
energy technology that has good yield and minimal negative side effects. After the
harnessing of the atom for use in nuclear weapons, the knowledge of how to exploit
the atom became incorporated in nuclear power plants (Corradini 1). These use
uranium fuel in a process that releases tremendous amounts of energy to be captured,
but also that creates minimal waste and other byproducts. Despite these, the benefits
of nuclear energy outweigh any disadvantages, as seen by its high energy output,
reliability, and minimal environmental impact when compared to energy sources such
as fossil fuels.
Due in large part to its high energy output, nuclear power is a feasible and practical
technology for meeting the world s energy needs. For example, global energy
demand has been continually increasing, with a 66% growth between 1980 and
2007; this demand is expected to increase by 40% by 2030 (World Nuclear.org). As
a testament to nuclear power s utility as an energy source, it currently provides a
large amount of global electricity: nuclear power met 20% of the global demand of
electricity as of 2008 (Abu Khader). This power generation is spread across 30
countries and is a result of 436 nuclear power plants (Adamantiades). The 20% figure
also represents the United States dependence on nuclear power for generating
Why Drawing Is Drawing
A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint
really well or could be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as
doing underwater handstands and then there are skills that are absolutely out of the
blue, for example bending their index finger backwards down the wrist. My skillisn t
too common though it isn t very unique either. My skill isn t painting or cooking, or
even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is one of my
passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion.
Drawing is very useful for when I m upset and need something to boost my
moralemood and is comforting for just a normal, rainy day activity. I especially
draw especially when I m bored or trying to pass time. Some people agree, and find
drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy drawing because it
lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just a
plain doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be
working on notes, and sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is
funny considering that when I get an actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible,
but on a sheet of scratched up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of
building blocks. You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and
textures to make it more and more vivid and detailed. I don t usually color
drawings because they look better to me in mono, but that gives me a chance to
make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing may come as a gifted
skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to them,
but I find it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be

period of plastigon production, the equipment turned out to b sufficiently different
from standard soup making equipment that in many cases the vendor could not
deliver exactly what was promised. After several discussions, the new plastigon
production line should be installed in the Maxton. Because of this, the engineers
based in Camden, New Jersey, had to fly to Maxton to work on the equipment.

Veterans Essay. Veterans Day Speeches, Essay, Poems, Paragraph 2018 For Students ...

  • 1. Veterans Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of veterans is both an honorable and challenging task. While the theme itself is broad and significant, encompassing various aspects of military service, sacrifice, and the veteran experience, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between depth and breadth. Firstly, one must navigate the vast history of military service, acknowledging the diverse roles and contributions of veterans throughout different conflicts and eras. This demands meticulous research to comprehend the nuances of each period, the challenges faced by veterans, and the evolution of societal attitudes towards them. Moreover, addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of veterans' experiences adds another layer of complexity. Delving into the mental toll of warfare, the struggles with post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the often overlooked challenges of reintegration into civilian life requires a delicate touch to maintain sensitivity while conveying the gravity of the subject. Another challenge arises in striking a balance between highlighting the resilience and bravery of veterans and addressing the systemic issues they may face. Addressing topics such as healthcare, employment opportunities, and societal perceptions necessitates careful consideration to provide a comprehensive perspective without oversimplifying or sensationalizing the issues. Furthermore, the essay should aim to engage readers, fostering empathy and understanding. Balancing facts and personal narratives, weaving together a compelling narrative that captivates the audience while educating them on the diverse facets of the veteran experience is a skill that requires finesse. In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme of veterans demands not only a thorough understanding of historical contexts and personal experiences but also the ability to convey the emotional and societal impact of military service. It is a challenging but worthwhile endeavor to pay homage to the sacrifices made by veterans and shed light on the complex issues they often confront. If you find such tasks daunting or time-consuming, professional writing services like HelpWriting.net can provide assistance. They offer a range of services, including essay writing, to help you navigate through the intricacies of various topics. Veterans EssayVeterans Essay
  • 2. Like Water For Chocolate Feminism Essay Feminism can be defined as the belief that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities. I think Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist novel because the two main characters in the novel exhibit characteristics that represent what a feminist is. Feminism is the belief that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities. Tita and Gertrudis show through their behavior, actions, and language that they believe that women should be able to live a life with the same rights and opportunities as men. The first reason Tita supports my belief that Like Water For Chocolateis a feminist novel is that she demonstrated her feminism by rejecting conforms to social norms for female behavior and choosing instead her equal right to fully love Pedro by having an ... We learn in this quote that Gertrudis acts like a feminist because she availed herself of the same rights and opportunities that men take to rise to the top of their profession. She was not afraid to show she was a leader and she was not afraid to take opportunities that came along to show her abilities and be promoted up the military ranks to general. In conclusion, we see that two main and powerful characters in Like Water For Chocolate, Tita and Gertrudis, exemplify and demonstrate the traits that feminists have the ability and fearlessness to take advantage of the same rights and opportunities that men take advantage of. These two characters support my belief that Like Water For Chocolate is a feminist

  • 4. The Passive and Pitiful Ethan Frome Essay The Passive and Pitiful Ethan Frome Ethan Frome is a man torn between what he wants to do, and what he should do. Life in a rural town can be tough, but when faced with complications, it can be almost unbearable. When Ethan decides to marry his distant cousin, Zeena, his life turns down a long and lonesome road. Ethan s lack of assertiveness and decisive action only worsens his already lonesome and stressful life. Though too intelligent for rural life, Ethan finds himself stuck in an average man s shoes. Leaving any opportunity he had to become someone in life, Ethan moves back to Starkfield to take care of his ailing mother and attend to their farm(Wharton 29). Rather than living a lonesome ... He soon falls in love with young Mattie and when Zeena decides it s time for her to go, Ethan hesitates to stand up for himself and Mattie. When he is forced to take her away, he tells Mattie about a story similar to theirs(Wharton, 56); he offers the chance for them to run away together, but Mattie declines. If Ethan had only made the decision for them, or stood up to Zeena, his life would be much better off. When Mattie is finally forced to go, Ethan faces the hardest decision he s ever had to make. Both Mattie and he are in love with each other and neither of the two know what to do now that they will be separated forever. Ethan decides to take Mattie to the train station instead of letting Jotham Powell, which turns out to be one of Ethan s many bad choices. On their way to the train stop, Ethan takes Mattie sledding for the first time since she arrived in Starkfield(Wharton, 69). The fun they had together while sledding only reminded them of what they would be missing when Mattie finally had to leave. Faced with no where else to go, Mattie suggests to Ethan that they ride the sled straight in to the big elm so that they ll never have to be apart again(Wharton, 71). Though Mattie was dreadfully serious about the suggestion,

These platforms will integrate with the various business channels and centralize inventory. Since KOR s sales platforms (i.e. Amazon, www.korwater.com, etc) are decentralized, inventory will be kept in one bucket; allowing for all inventories at various locations to sync together. This would mean, if a customer purchases a product on Amazon.com, the inventory will then sync to all channels. After researching several different platforms, I have determined that Stitch Labs will integrate best with KOR s current business channels. The KOR Water website is set up on a Shopify platform, which runs extremely well with the Stitch bridge. Stitch also integrates very well with the Amazon channels and will allow KOR to continuously have a handle on how much inventory is held in each location (USA and Canada). The platform will also allow us to send additional inventory from within the Stitch Labs platform. Once the platform is integrated with KOR s sales channels, the following benefits will be available: Operations team will create one .csv file for inventory upon integration. Inventory will be completely maintained as it flows out to the customer, effectively eliminating the need for the current system, the Google Doc. Purchase orders for new production runs will all be

This is what the Department of Homeland Security (D.H.S) is doing to you because of an act that passed 45 days after the 9/11 attack. The Congress had to rush the act since they fear more attacks will happen, and was quickly passed without votes. In fact, homeland security is against our civil liberties (personal freedom). My partner and I believe that homeland security in the United Statesshould be controlled by the government because it is against a lot of amendments in the Constitution, and popular sovereignty (citizen s power). On the other hand, my opponents might say homeland security sacrifices privacy for better protection and safety, but in my opinion it is cheating to go through records without any permission by a guardian or the court. In the United Kingdom, the government has a law called Do not spy on us which is using the parliament to stop power on spying citizen s records, this is a great example to the U.S . It also recommend to have a secure internet for the U.K and to have transparent laws not secret laws. To counter this, Southwest implemented its own reservation system tailored to their own needs, which also included the industry s first paperless ticketing system; but this wasn t the end of IT innovation from Southwest Airlines. In 1995, Southwest.com was launched, and the online ticketing and reservation system was launched in 1996. Soon thereafter, Southwest Airlines ticket sales were primarily coming from their online reservation system (70%). By the late 90 s, Southwest.com was the most visited airlinewebsite [4]. By the start of the millennium, Southwest airlines had already mastered another IT milestone which is still in use to this very day: allowing the passenger to print their own boarding vouchers and allowing passengers to self check in on their own computer even before arriving at the airport [4]! By implementing these two features on the Southwest website, the airline was able to reduce the number of customer service agents at check in counters and allowed customers to spend minimal time waiting at an airport [2]. This increases both passenger and staff efficiency, making the mundane task of waiting around at an airport virtually a thing of the past. Industry Analysis:Applying the Porter model to Southwest Airlines, we can see airline that is surrounded by fierce competition and costs [4]. For intra industry

This paper also expands on the notion of how substance abuse and addiction are represented per several factors individual, social, cultural and economic, as well as what instances/occurrences may have played a significant role in the development of substance and alcohol addiction Nic, the individual at risk, the circumstances that may have led David to acknowledge his son s substance abuse problem, and what factors facilitate recovery. At first came the denial. The denial that there was even the remote possibility that their sweet, innocent Nic would become dependent on substance to keep him remotely functional. Rather than let his son waste away, David utilized his journalistic abilities and set off to research as much as he could about addiction. He set out to contact ULCA s top methamphetamine researcher, Dr. Richard Rawson. As a researcher, Dr. Rawson has no agenda other than fact and truth. He is completely dedicated to the work he does for one sole reason, to help addicts (Sheff, 2008, p.277). Alongside research, Sheff also attends Alcoholics Anonymous and therapy sessions to better grasp what is going on with his son. In these sessions, he is continuously drilled of the three Cs, you did not cause it, you cannot control it, and you cannot cure it . Sheff has difficulties accepting all but one of the three Cs at the end of his memoir. He comes to realize that he cannot control, nor can he cure Nic s addiction. Theories Of The Utimatum Game We consider a two player game, where one player (the proposer) makes an offer to split an endowment/an amount of money between the two players and the other player (the responder) can accept or reject the offer in an ultimatum game (but has no choice in the dictator game). In an ultimatum game, if the other player accepts, the money is split according to the proposal and if the other player rejects, neither player receives anything. As suggested by game theory, the only sub game perfect Nash equilibrium of the game is the strategy pair in which player one offers zero and player 2 accepts all offers. Rational responders should accept even the smallest positive offer, since the alternative is getting nothing. In a large number of human studies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In that case, we will accept the hypothesis. In the ultimatum game, the responder will not be willing to accept low offers if he /she has earned the money and the dictator will not be expected give zero amount knowing this. If the property rights are with the proposer, then too, he will give be expected to give more to the responder than in a dictator game, fearing that very low offers will make the partner reject his/her proposal. If we observe such a behavior, then the expected theory is
  • 10. Eating Disorders And The Media Eating Disorders and the Media Eating disorders have become a major problem throughout the world, specifically in the United States. The key factor that has an influence on eating disorders is the media. Including people of all ages and genders, up to twenty four million people suffer from an eating disorder in the United States (ANAD np). This is a huge problem in the world today but what makes it so much worse is the fact that it can be prevented and it is in our control to change it. Young adults look to these celebrities, which are often their role models, and try to look just like them. What they fail to remember is the fact that celebrities have a lot of money, money that can afford nutritionists and personal trainers. They also fail to remember the extensive measures the celebrities may have to go through to look the way they do. An example of extensive measures can be considered plastic surgery. Ultimately, this creates a false goal that is almost unattainable for the average or regular person. Overall, the media has overtaken a huge impact on what the ideal body image has become today. Eating disorders are still on the rise and it is proven that an eating disorder such as anorexia affects up to 5 percent of women from ages 15 30 years old ( Media, Body Image, and Eating Disorders | National Eating Disorders Association np ). This may not seem that significant but it is also not considering other eating disorders such as bulimia. All in all, eating disorders

These are just some of the few questions we ask. Aslan s death had a very large significance in the story, it was one of the large example s proving that the White Witch is a cruel and evil woman. In the story you hear the Dwarf and the White Witch talking about the stone table and how that is where they take people to be punished or executed, so they take Aslan there to be executed by first tying him to the stone table while shouting and cheering as if they deserved an award, they then shaved his mane and said things like Is this what we were afraid of? and How many mice have you caught today cat? as if mocking him for being a cat, they then muzzled him and he was executed. This cruel punishment was done by the white witch because she wanted the honors of killing her enemy all to herself instead of having any of her monsters doing it for her, because by doing it herself she got the feeling and true significance of knowing that he was really dead. The entire ordeal was cruel and wicked, but with that being said, few think that they understand the reason for killing Aslan. • 15. Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy Essay Idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) is a major health concern, constituting up to one third of epilepsies (1). They are determined by genetics and affects people of all sexes and races. Many IGEs are lifelong, and have an onset during childhood or adolescence (1). One drug that is used to treat IGEs is the barbiturate, phenobarbital (2). This medication is one of the oldest available antiepileptics, and is low cost and effective (2). However, there are some serious side effects of the drug which include somnolence, neuralgic pain, hyperactivity, hypotension, respiratory depression and impairment of fine motor skills (3). Barbiturates affect the GABA receptor, specifically the GABAA receptor and are transmitter gated ion channels (4).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Barbiturates also do this via their effect on glutamate receptors by inhibiting the AMPA subtype of glutamate receptor (7,8). The increased inhibition of barbiturates leads to depression of the body. It includes depression of smooth muscles (such as lowering of heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure), depression of skeletal muscles, diminished brain function (such as impaired judgement), sedation, and altered emotional responses (9). Some other common side effects, particularly of phenobarbital, includes dizziness, drowsiness, problems with memory/concentration, nausea, and vomiting. (9). Phenobarbital would be my drug of choice within the barbiturate class of drugs. I would choose to target these class of drugs for epilepsy due to their potency and yet the severity of side effects. As one of the oldest epileptic drugs, there is room for improvement with phenobarbital, particularly with the side effects mentioned. Also of note, there was a study that looked at possibly combining a NKCC1 inhibitor, such as bumetanide, with phenobarbital to increase the action of the barbiturate (4) or the combination of phenobarbital and phenytonin (10). I would use these ideas as a launching point for my research. If the medicinal chemists could synthesize the drugs that I would use for future experimentation, and assuming there is no limit to my funding, I would conduct experiments that would determine the pharmacokinetics, the pharmacodynamics, the

In addition BIRADS is a categorical scale and so has limitations to its application due to its coarseness. For example it cannot be used where monitoring of small incremental changes in breast density is desired. Using visual BIRADS is also labor intensive and so needs to be assessed with regard to availability of scarce and valuable radiologist time especially in the context of a limited resource low and middle income country (LMIC) like Nigeria. Even if he found resistance to his initiatives from the elder members, and growing pressure to increase the number of the church members, his faith in God kept him motivated to start doing what he had in mind such as a contemporary worship style, good childcare for young families, and an evangelical outreach to the community. • 22. Nuclear Power Is A Technology Nuclear Power Nuclear power is a technology that has enormous benefits for humankind. As the demand for energy is only continuing to grow, it has become important to develop energy technology that has good yield and minimal negative side effects. After the harnessing of the atom for use in nuclear weapons, the knowledge of how to exploit the atom became incorporated in nuclear power plants (Corradini 1). These use uranium fuel in a process that releases tremendous amounts of energy to be captured, but also that creates minimal waste and other byproducts. Despite these, the benefits of nuclear energy outweigh any disadvantages, as seen by its high energy output, reliability, and minimal environmental impact when compared to energy sources such as fossil fuels. Due in large part to its high energy output, nuclear power is a feasible and practical technology for meeting the world s energy needs. For example, global energy demand has been continually increasing, with a 66% growth between 1980 and 2007; this demand is expected to increase by 40% by 2030 (World Nuclear.org). As a testament to nuclear power s utility as an energy source, it currently provides a large amount of global electricity: nuclear power met 20% of the global demand of electricity as of 2008 (Abu Khader). This power generation is spread across 30 countries and is a result of 436 nuclear power plants (Adamantiades). The 20% figure also represents the United States dependence on nuclear power for generating
  • 23. Why Drawing Is Drawing A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint really well or could be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as doing underwater handstands and then there are skills that are absolutely out of the blue, for example bending their index finger backwards down the wrist. My skillisn t too common though it isn t very unique either. My skill isn t painting or cooking, or even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is one of my passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion. Drawing is very useful for when I m upset and need something to boost my moralemood and is comforting for just a normal, rainy day activity. I especially draw especially when I m bored or trying to pass time. Some people agree, and find drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy drawing because it lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just a plain doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be working on notes, and sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is funny considering that when I get an actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible, but on a sheet of scratched up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of building blocks. You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and textures to make it more and more vivid and detailed. I don t usually color drawings because they look better to me in mono, but that gives me a chance to make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing may come as a gifted skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to them, but I find it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be

In the start up period of plastigon production, the equipment turned out to b sufficiently different from standard soup making equipment that in many cases the vendor could not deliver exactly what was promised. After several discussions, the new plastigon production line should be installed in the Maxton. Because of this, the engineers based in Camden, New Jersey, had to fly to Maxton to work on the equipment. Project request flow chart 1. Request for project 2.
