William Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads
Imagine traveling down a gravel road in the countryside, set in England during the 19th Century. As
you continue your journey, you stumble across a woodland child and inquire about general
questions. Being inquisitive and intrigued by her fair beauty, queries regarding he family arise and
soon you find her concept of deathskewed. We are Seven, composed by William Wordsworth
and
published in Lyrical Ballads, is one of Wordsworth darker poems and unlike his characteristic
Romantic style. Wordsworth lost his mother at the tender age of eight, coincidentally, the same
age as the cottage girl. This poem stems from Wordsworth s personal experiences from when he
journeyed across Europe later in life and stumbled across a child near Goodrich Castle, whom is
alleged to be the muse behind this poem. The poem depicts the struggle the speaker faces as he
tries to verbalize the truth over the deceased cottage girl s brother and sister. The characterizations
regarding the speaker s social classand age in regards to his audience, the little girl, contribute to
the colliding ideology during this exchange. Wordsworth begins the scene of this poem with the
master strolling down a road in the countryside. The silence and loneliness of the poem breaks
when the man comes across a little girl frolicking alone. Before any words are exchanged, a
description of the child is given, alluding to her social standing among society. Described as having

The Power Of Solar Energy
Power Use
Solar power or what is commonly referred to as solar energy is the energy from the sun that is
converted into thermal or electrical energy. This form of energy is the cleanest and most abundant
since it is almost everywhere in the world. It is also renewable and hence through modern
technological advancement it be harnessed into a wide range of uses such as electricity generation,
lighting or indoor use, water heating, machine driving and other commercial as well as industrial
applications. There are many more other benefits that come along with solar energy use apart from
just the application, such as the environmental friendliness, cheapness in terms of production and
use, and the value it adds on a business or a home.
The U.S, just like any other industrialized country in the world, has been facing major power
shortages due to the increased electricity demands for both industrial and home use. As the
number of industries and companies increases in the country, electricity demand also increases.
This implies that energy sources have to also increase. Most of the electricity is produced through
the use of steam turbines powered by fossil fuels such as coal or petroleum and water in boilers,
about one fifth of the energy is produced from nuclear power and the rest (only 13%) comes from
renewable energy sources for example hydropower, wind power, biomass, solar power, and
geothermal power (Fahrenbruch, et al., 54)
The country needs to invest more in renewable energy

Supervisory Influence In Greek Mythology
Projective Identification. It has long been known among residents of the schools of psychological
thought, that it is a common human tendency to project characteristics of one s self onto others or
even onto inanimate objects. An example being that one day a person walks through a park and
come across a formation of trash such that the trash resembles a smiley face. The reaction that they
would exhibit is that they would see another s face when looking at this pile of garbage is an
example of identification based on basic facial features. Similarly, humans do the same to gods,
Greek or Egyptian. Desires considered to be human, and emotions such as rage, lust, and grief are
common themes in myths surrounding these gods. In fact, such myths... Show more content on

Other areas of psychology suggest that humans believe God(s) exist(s) because they are simply
used to having an entity watch over them, and because personalities desire the security and growth
found from a supervisory relationship. Often in religion there are rules that shall not be disobeyed,
or punishment that one would wish to avoid. In the Bible, one should act righteously by the
commandments, lest they risk their eternal damnation in the pits of hell. In Greek mythology, cruel
and unethical behavior may lead to the fields of punishment. And Hinduism s cycle of rebirth and
karma dictates that if one acts unrighteously within this life, they shall surely be reborn as a being
whose very existence is viewed as unpleasant, such as a barnacle. Varying takes on punishment
aside, it is clear that religion and mythology have their own views on morality and the relative
consequence of one s actions. But the fact remains that such stories exist to remind society as a
whole that it should not behave in an immoral fashion. This being the case, it could be said that
the deciding forces, Karma, God, and gods exist to supervise people, much as a parent or teacher
would. Such myths and religious ideals exist to prevent conflict, and regardless of religious conflict
in the world today, ideas such as the Ten Commandments remind humanity as a whole that the true
aim of religion was truly to discourage conflict and encourage harmony. Have respect for life. The
commandment You shall not kill means an obligation for a culture of non violence. (Kässmann, M.

The Social Problem Of Crime
This information analysis focuses on the social problem computer crime, but more specifically
identity theft. In this paper, I analyzed six different articles from various sources. I chose cyber
crime as my topic because I have an interest in computers and coding. I also like to watch
documentaries and a television show on cybercrime scene investigations. Analyzing articles on this
topic will help me develop further knowledge on this topic and how it is considered a social
problem in our society. Computer crimerefers to any violation of the law in which a computer is
the target or means of criminal activity (Mooney, Knox, Schacht, 2014, p.113). Computer crime
is also known as cybercrime. Cybercrime continues to have far reaching effects because it
affects individuals, companies, and organizations and is increasingly a problem in the
globalized world we live in. This is because we rely so much on cell phones, computers, and us
many social network sites. Cybercrime is considered a social problem because it negatively
affects a large group of people in our society. In 2014, there were 1.5 million cyber attacks
worldwide ( IBM Cyber Security Intelligence Index, 2015, pg.13). One type of computer crime is
identity theft. Identity theft is the use of someone else s personal information to obtain credit or
other economic rewards (Mooney, et al, 2014, pg.113). Identity theft first became a crime in 1998,
when Congress passed the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act

Characteristics Of A Tragic Hero
According to Aristotle, a Tragic Hero is described as a literary character who makes a judgment
error that inevitably leads to his/her destruction. Aristotle once said that A man doesn t become a
hero until he can see the root of his downfall. An Aristotelian tragic hero must possess specific
characteristics, five of which are below:
1)Flaw or error of judgment (hamartia) Note the role of justice and revenge in the judgments.
2) A reversal of fortune (peripeteia) brought about because of the hero s error in judgment.
3) The discovery or recognition that the reversal was brought about by the hero s actions
(anagnorisis)
4) Excessive Pride (hubris)
5) The character s fate must be greater than deserved (BSID 2017)

He has total control over himself and shows braveness in addition to dignity. Just as Othello is a
virtuous man there are a few flaws in him, these flaws are what make him up as a tragic hero.
Othello is regularly blinded using trust and cannot see someone for who they genuinely are. He
trusts the people around him even if they mean to afflict harm to him. Through this, it may be
seen why Othello is one of the most known tragic heroes of Shakespeare s many plays. In the
beginning, Othello is a good man with an amazing personality which draws people closer to him.
However, he is known by the senators as one of the best leaders; he is also valued by everyone
around him. To put it differently, they hear what Othello has to say.
Here comes Barbantio and the valiant Moor.
(Act 1, scene 3, 47) (Othello) Besides the greatness s there likewise are a few blemishes. With
Othello being a military pioneer for the greater part of his life, believing another military
companion would be normal and along these lines, Othello was not motivated not to put stock in
Iago. So, one might say that Othello has disastrous shortcomings, one being excessively
dependable. Commonly Othello does not see the shrewd demonstrations of Iago. He is accustomed
to managing military individuals on the war zone, where you put your life in the hands of others. In
this circumstance trust is essential. Othello claims that Iago is a man of respect

Essay On Kerkoff And Davis Filter Theory
Describe and Evaluate two theories of the formation of romantic relationships Kerckoff and
Davis (1962) presented a form of relationship formation theory known as the filter model. They
believed that we have three filters that are important at different times before we can enter a
relationship. We start with a field of availables , those who are free for relationships and
gradually narrow them down using different stages to a field of desirables, and those who we
would consider as potential partners. The first filter is the social and demographic variables where
we tend to pick people with similar educational and economic background to us. The second filter
is the similarity of attitudes and values, where people with different... Show more content on

However, Gruber Baldini et al (1995) found that couples who were similar were more likely to be
together 20 years later, suggesting that similarity continues to be important. That strengthen the
validity of the experiment. Furthermore, Kerchkoff used a student population in his study
therefore this research may not be generalised to older or different members of society and adult
relationship formation. In addition, the Filter theory fails to take into account individual
differences. In real life, people give importance to different factors. The filter model is a 3 stage
theory ,which makes it quite artificial and fails to capture the dynamics and fluency of
relationships. In real life, relationships change and develop, some flow faster/slower and these
factors cannot fit neatly into stages. Therefore the filter theory can t be applied to all relationships
and is an incomplete explanation for relationship formation. Moreover, the filter model is
reductionist as it simplifies complex relationships down to three stages. There is more to
relationships than the theory states as the filter theory fails to explain love and other factors that
may lead to the formation of relationships. Also the social demographic filter may be less important
today as we have greater mobility and the ability to make contact and stay in touch electronically

I Will Be Exploring The Short Film Surviving Sabu Which...
Explore the presentation of Orientalist discourses in the short film Surviving Sabu.
I will be exploring the short film Surviving Sabu which was written and directed by Ian Iqbal
Rashid in 1998, with reference to the 1942 film The Jungle Book. My analysis will question the
presentation of Indian and Muslim identities in both films.
Surviving Sabu presents the relationship between two characters: a father and his son. The family
have immigrated to England at some point in recent decades, although the audience is never told
when or specifically where from. The characters have anonymity, we are not even told their names.
They could be two individuals of any migrant Indian, Muslim family, and the son concludes that this
is all that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They tell a kind of Indian folklore which is not of India, but constructed by Kipling himself. This is
not to suggest that what The Jungle Book depicts is a work of complete imagination; essentially an
idea with no corresponding reality, but rather that there are regular constellations of ideas which
become the pre eminent thing about the Orient . The Orient is conceptualised by strict and rigid
lines of thinking which can never do justice to the lives, histories and customs of the cultures and
nations whose location is in the East . It is the pre supposed authority of what is said about them
(the Orient) in the West which establishes the relationship between the Occident and the Orient as
one of power, of domination, of varying degrees of cultural hegemony. 5 Kipling arguably secures
this authority in his use of Hindi words and names; he can be perceived as merely documenting the
true voices of the other . In the same way, the 1942 film presents a character who is played by an
actor of Indian heritage; what is depicted henceforth says something true about Indian culture. Such
presentations legitimise stereotypical and problematic representations of Orientalist characters, for
example the village men in The Jungle Book as brutish, simple minded and power hungry. The
greedy characters of the barber, the pundit and Buldeo are easily corrupted by the

children were taken and placed into dormitories, non Indigenous foster homes and or were

into society. If a child was caught talking in Aboriginal language they would be punished. No
education was offered instead the girls were taught to be servants and boys to be stockmen

786,689 Australians identifying as Aboriginal, a number that had increased by 17.4% from the

Different Types Of Bitmap
Bitmap
A bitmap image is an image that is stored as pixels, each of the pixels can only be one colour at a
time. As the image is stored as pixels when the image is increased in size the image then
becomes pixelated, this means that the image will loses quality. The files size for a 200x200 image
will always be 118 Kb. A bitmap is usually use for photos that you have taken on a digital camera
which are for example JPEG files(13).
Lossless
Lossless is a type of compression, when the file is compressed the quality still stays the same
when the file is reloaded and all the information will be restored completely. This method of

There are loads of output mediums that improved so that designing and creating graphical images
will become easier and so that the quality of the graphical images will improve. Not only has their
appearance changed by also but also what you can accomplish with the devices. Some output
mediums that have changes are mobile phones, printers and monitors.
Mobile Phone
Mobile phones has impacted the design and creation of graphical images the user can now take a
photo using their phones and on can phones the quality will be better than some digital cameras.
Mobile phones are probably the most used output medium nowadays. Before phone could take
photos they could only create contacts, call and message. When the messages application came

Essay on EIBE Self Reflection Assignment
п‚· A new idea which arose from the scenario process and which challenged or developed your

The EIBE scenario process was for me a new way of mixing the logical prediction with wild
imagination. This is a new mixture and a new way of thinking for an engineer which usually
relies on the structured logical way of thinking only. The scenario is basically a collection of new
ideas that is based on present facts leading to future imaginary yet logical sequence of actions, all
tied up with a hidden thread of logic.

on the international trade area and international trade treaties and general rules. However, it turned
to have a different objective, which has a wider spectrum than only business, it turned to be
covering all aspects of life that might affect the business practices in the environment under study.
Then came the assignment, at the beginning it was very interesting and challenging to try to think
about how it is possible to develop a future scenario about a country which we almost have no
information about. Step by step, the picture started to become clearer, and the scenario process
components started to show their integrated value. It was an excellent idea to have the trial session

Isolation In Disney Pixar s Film Brave
In the Disney Pixar animated film Brave, an unconventional princess, Merida, suffers from her
own isolation her entire life as she acts contrary to how traditional royalty should. However, her
rift between who she is and who she should be comes to a head when she puts a curse on her
mother. Not only does the movie take Merida on a journey of acceptance and learning, but forces
Merida s mother, the queen, to live in exile alone in her own mind as she is transformed into a
bear. The meaning of this mental isolation goes deeper than the surface themes of Brave, as
Elinor nearly loses her humanity, revealing the impact isolation can have on one s humanity and
how dire meaningful relationships are to a functioning society as a whole. Elinor s curse is first
shown to expose this idea of isolation equating to non humanity when she and Merida are hunting
for their first meal away from the castle. Shown to be unsuccessful in finding her own food as she
tries to eat poisonous berries, Elinor is characterized as someone who relies on... Show more content

One of humanity s essential qualities is to go against the grain, so to speak. Disney subtly shows
this ideal in every character from traditionalist Elinor entertaining Merida s childhood encounter
with will o the wisps to Merida s rebellion against her betrothal. So, in this way, Elinor s struggle to
go so against the grain to maintain her humanity is made more potent. If she had simply gone with
what nature told her, she would become a full fledged bear, unthinking and only relying on instinct.
This can be seen as a direct result of isolation as the lack of relationships with other higher thinking
humans takes away the need to rely on anything besides instincts; Elinor s mental isolation and
difficulty communicating with Merida removes her relationship, thus forcing her into a more
animalistic state to

How Did Edmund Norgay Change The World

Epistemology is generally the study of knowledge and knowing (Braten, 2010). Although, personal

What can we know?
We can know what we learn. While sitting in a classroom setting, it can be determined what an

Conversion Of Reactants In A Saponification Reaction Lab...
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The main objective of this lab was to observe the effects of conversion of reactants in regard to
temperature and time. The main reactants that were used are ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide in
a saponification reaction. The expected products were sodium acetate and ethanol. This reaction
was conducted in a batch reactor in isothermic conditions and adiabatic conditions. The variables of
interest in this reaction are Conductivity, temperature, time and concentration.
The reactants used were 400 ml of 5.0% ethyl acetate and 400 ml of 2.3% Sodium hydroxide. This
is equivalent to 9.2 grams of sodium hydroxide which has 0.23 moles. The measured conductivity
of the sodium hydroxide initially before the start of the experiment was 112.2 mS/cm. The sodium
hydroxide was mixed with the acetic ether and recordings of the conductivity were recorded down
in intervals of 10 seconds to approximately 3 minutes.
In the experiment conducted, during the adiabatic reaction, a gradual temperature increase was
noted over the period. The temperature increase was accompanied by a decrease in the conductivity
measured. This is attributed to the increase in conversion percentage of the reactants. The increase
in conversion percentage is due to the temperature increase which caused the reaction of the
reactants as they form a new product and this consequently causes the temperature increase.
During the isothermic reaction, the temperature of the reaction was maintained at a

Overall they were generalized. As an employee for the company I had not seen this until just
recently when the district manager brought them to our store so I read through it and signed a
document confirming I had. I do think we live these values each day through our working habits
in the workplace but I feel the company is slacking with giving the information or expectations of
the code to the employees. If the company doesn t provide the knowledge and training really
necessary to work by the company s code of ethics then what is the point of having one?
In conclusion The Home Depot mission statement and code of ethics were relatively good and
the company does walk the talk they are giving out. With Burger King the company s mission
statement follows their main goal but I feel they are slacking with the code of ethics and not
exposing the employees to it. Overall I think both companies are good places to work and I have
enjoyed being with them and feel I m doing my part to contribute to their goals.

Autobiography Of Burl Galanis
*Note to self *= Note to Self 16 = insert other paragraph here ? = do i need this My name is Burl
Galanis, and I am 21 year old African American living in Harlem, New York. I moved here right
before Great War ended, around four years ago *1919*. My dad needed new work, and he found
a great job as a factory worker. He had his eye on this job ever since the previous holder got
recruited. It is better up here than in the south with the Jim Crow law that segregated our schools.
My brother got recruited to the Harlem Hellfighters. He fought the Central powers, and spent 191
days in front line trenches. For the great bravery his officers showed they where the first American

The Federal Reserve System Is The Central Banking System...
Introduction
The Federal Reserve System is the central banking system of the United States. The Federal
Reserve System is there to help out when a series of financial hardships and panics happen in our
economy. One of the leading changes in the Fed system was the Great Depression. This put the
economy in a lot of stress and the banking system in a crisis. There were three objectives for the
monetary policy. The three objectives were to increase employment, target the discount rate, and
monitor the interest rates. The first two objectives can also be known as the Federal Reserve s dual
mandate. The Federal Reserve s dual mandate includes conducting the nation s monetary policy and
supervising/regulating banking institutions. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Purpose
The most important purpose for the Federal Reserve System in our economy is to address any
banking hardships and panics/crisis. Some other reasons are to furnish a flexible currency and to
establish a more effective supervision of banking. In today s world, the financial systems stability
is the Federal Reserve s responsibility.
Current functions of the Federal Reserve System include:
To serve as the central bank for the United States
To address the problem of banking hardships and panics
To manage the nation s money supply through monetary policy
1.Increase employment
2.Stabilize prices, including prevention of either inflation or deflation
3.Monitor long term interest rates
To create a balance between private interests banks and the centralized government
1.To oversee and normalize banking institutions
2.To look after the credit rights of consumers
To strengthen the U.S. economy
To maintain stability of the financial system and contain universal threats of the financial markets
Lender of Last Resort
In the United States, the Federal Reserve serves as the lender of last resort to those organizations
that can t obtain credit elsewhere. Obviously if the Fed were to collapse, there would be serious
consequences for the economy. The Federal Reserve took over this role from the private sector.
Being that it is public or private, the availability of liquidity was intended to prevent making trips to

The Theory Of The Mind Body Dualism
RenГ© Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher of the 16th Century, who,
according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, was one of the first to abandon scholastic
Aristotelianism and created the first version of the modern mind body dualism or emotion
(Encyclopedia Britannica). Born on March 31, 1596, he was dubbed as the Father of Modern
Philosophy. His theory on the mindbody dualism, also known as Cartesian Dualism, created a stem
of the modern problem of the relationship between the mind and body. He created the early version
to further explain the interaction of the mind and body, to create a firm foundation that can be
explained through science and to prove the existence and goodness of God, and how the soulcould
be immortal.
Along with that, he mentioned that the mind is different from the body. One of the basic thesis of
his Cartesian Dualism is that a mental substance cannot have a physical form, and that said physical
form cannot have experiences , for the mind and body cannot function without the other (Chin Tai
Kim 337). In his Cartesian Dualism, RenГ© Descartes believes that every human being possesses
a body and mind (Nath 1). Though, there are some philosophers who might have agreed, disagreed
or criticized about his theory.
Philosophers such as Gilbert Ryle, critiqued about the Descartes Cartesian Dualism, for he believes
that the principle of Descartes Dualism theory is not valid enough and full of problems. He called

Clark s Legacy Case Study
Legacy:
In 1944, with ClarkВґs encouragement and financial support from Phipps father, the Northside
Testing and Treatment Center was opened in Harlem. In 1948 it became the Northside Center for
Child Development, it provided testing services and psychological consultations for behavioral
problems. They realized that the Board of Education wasn t doing proper testing for minority
students. The students were put into special needs classes, so Clark started to do his own testing
and realized that many of these students intelligence was above average. (Nyman, 2010). The
Treatment Center not only provided child care information for parents, but also aided teens for
vocational guidance. At one point these resources were only offered to poor black people, but over
time it was opened to anyone (Jones Pettigrew, 2005). Regardless, they received no payment from

social knowledge and ethical sense to make the APA socially conscious. He helped APA respond to
the volatile 1960s (Jones Pettigrew, 2005). During Clark s presidency, groups of underrepresented
people such as the Committee on Women Psychology were formed which eventually added
diversity to the APA. The most obvious mark of Clark s legacy can be found in the orientation of
APA and American psychology. At the time of his initial involvement, APA leaders endorsed an
extremely limited role for psychology in social concerns. Clark s leadership gave momentum to
needed and dramatic changes within APA and among American psychologists. His legacy endures

Stress And Mental State Attached With Physical Symptoms
Stress is a big factor in my life right now. To me stress is a heightening mental state attached with
physical symptoms when faced with a challenge. These challenges are known as stressors
disturbing homeostasis thus producing stress. I have more psychosocial stressors in my life.
Learning about stress I found that my performance connection is all over the place. First, I am not
getting adequate sleep that causes my alertness to diminish as well as my optimal performance at
work. This in turn gives me anxiety and turns into disorganization with school and other areas of
my life. It was mentioned that the internal struggle we face while our body returns to homeostasis
is known as the general adaption syndrome. It involves the alarm,... Show more content on

I don t feel in control of stressful situations and this affects both my physiological and
psychological responses to stress. How to manage stress seems hard for me. I am determined to
use more of the time management and relaxation techniques. I will also utilize the idea of
downshifting; this to me is a great plan. It will affect my life in a way that will help me feel more
in control and to build up my self esteem and self efficacy. Another topic that relates well to the one
I previously mentioned is exercise and fitness. Exercise is a struggle for me because I simply do
not have the time. There are many positive outcomes to exercising that I would love to acquire.
As I learned of all the different diseases that come to those who don t participate in regular
exercise it scares me. By having the fact that I have family members who have diabetes, it
became clear to me that I am at risk for being diagnosed with it as well. Taking the necessary steps
in making exercise a daily routine like it should be will make my life so much better. It was
interesting to learn the different components of physical fitness. I have only really been concerned
about cardio until I learned the other important attributes. By learning these others it has affected
the way I see fitness. I now know that by engaging in them all I will not only feel better but it will
give me the extra energy to deal with my daily obligations. As I created an exercise plan for me to

Modern-Day Vaccine Development Raising Eyebrows Essay
Introduction Vaccine development is an old and complicated process, often requires more than a
decade to complete. The modern system of vaccine development, regulation and testing was
developed during the 20th century. To engender a vaccine mediated immunization or protection has
been a major challenge. Presently available vaccines work primarily through the induction of the
antigen specific antibodies. The effectiveness of any vaccine is determined by the quality of the
antibodies, as their work pattern and avidity. For a long term effect through vaccines, the antibodies
should be persistent or generated immune memory cells should be capable of instantaneous
response in case of any microbial exposure. Lot of new methods has emerged... Show more content

Another big achievement was the recognition of complete genome of Haemophilus influenza in
1995; which gave new directions to immunization. Vaccine Design and Development Development
of vaccines includes two broad stages. First stage covers laboratory and animal Studies including
recognition of appropriate antigens e.g. screening, creation of a vaccine concept, efficacy testing
and manufacturing of the vaccine at good standards. This stage may last for 1 2 years and often
some candidate vaccines cannot go beyond this stage due to the potential lack of immunity
generation. After this, the next step includes clinical studies on human beings. First a small group
of humans are tested with the vaccine, followed by a larger group, to assess the safety and extent of
the immune response that vaccine can provoke. Successful trial phases are followed by an approval
and licensing procedure. FDA approves the labeling of vaccine after satisfaction and inspection of
the manufacturing unit. Vaccines work through interrupting with innate or adaptive immunity as
well as humoral immunity. Immunity is a complex interplay of humoral and cellular immune
factors, but the required amount of antibody for defense against a pathogen is an important
contemplation in vaccine development 3, 4. Vaccines mediated protection Antibodies are specific
vaccine induced immune effectors that are produced by B lymphocytes, and have the capability to
bind with toxin or a pathogen. Other latent

When I heard these words by the late Steve Jobs in a video that was just 1 minute 42 seconds

rivalry between the companies Microsoft and Apple and their growths, despite each other, has

Essay The Rites of Spring by Modris Eksteins
Modris Eksteins presented a tour de force interpretation of the political, social and cultural climate
of the early twentieth century. His sources were not merely the more traditional sources of the
historian: political, military and economic accounts; rather, he drew from the rich, heady brew of
art, music, dance, literature and philosophy as well. Eksteins examined ways in which life
influenced, imitated, and even became art. Eksteins argues that life and art, as well as death,
became so intermeshed as to be indistinguishable from one another. The title of the book, The Rites
of Spring, and the plunge into the world of the Ballet Russe in the first chapter, made clear that
Eksteins intended to use Stravinsky s ballet as an image for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Germany was, relatively speaking, a new nation; new as a single nation. Russian contributions to
music and dance were new; they did not date back centuries like in England, France, Germany and
Italy. Politically, Germany found herself in a similar situation. She was new and wanted to make
her place among the great powers; she saw herself as the innovator, a progressive spirit, as opposed
to wearied France and conservative Britain. Eksteins contends that because Germans saw
themselves as the agent of (inevitable) progress, they felt their role in The Great War was defensive
rather than aggressive. To attack Germany was to attack the future. This belief that they must
defend their homeland from those who would deny the future, sustained the Germans during and
after the war, and into the next one. Eksteins realized that Hitler was not an anomaly; Hitler touched
a sympathetic chord within the Germans. Although Eksteins discussed that any group may want to
find scapegoats when things go wrong, citing the tendencies of the French to look beyond
themselves for explanations of failure, he implies that, in Germany, finding scapegoats produced
such horrific results because preexisting sentiments of anti Semitism combined with the violence
and power of Nazism. His depiction of the vibrant and dynamic, pep rally #8255; mentality with its

Gender Harassment And Sexual Harassment Essay
Bennett Alexander Hartman (2015) mentions that sexual harassment is based on gender and does
not Involve sex, requests for sexual activity, comments, or anything similar (Bennett Alexander
Hartman, 2015, p. 423). The non sex requirement is the reason that the term gender in sexual
harassment is discussed meaning whether if the individual is male or female that is filing a sexual
harassmentclaim. Although, Title VII of the Civil Rights of 1964 mentions that individuals should
not be discriminated on the basis of gender, sex, ethnicity, race, religion, etc it does not specify an
individual s sexual orientation. This writer will be discussing a case where a male employee files
a sexual harassment claim against the employer as the male employee identifies as being gay. He
also is filing discriminationon the basis of his gender and alleges retaliation as he was terminated
after he had complained about his female coworker. Apparently, the male employee alleged that a
female employee while at a dinner and concert after work hours grabbed his privates. It is
important to note that the male employee s performance prior to the incident was declining and
was counseled on several occasions by his employer about his declining production. Furthermore,
this writer will be discussing whether if the facts could result in liability to the employer for sexual
harassment or gender discrimination. Also, this writer will be integrating and referring to various
sources and cases that

Good Country People by Flannery O Connor
Flannery O Connor was a southern belle born in Savannah, Georgia in 1925. She was a Catholic
girl living in the Bible belt of the country. She lived in two different worlds (Meyer, 421); the
fictional world that she created for her stories and her personal life. In her stories, she used
exciting characters so that she could live through them and live an interesting life. She uses her
stories to portray totally unanticipated, but totally plausible things. O Connor s stories present
complex experiences that cannot be tidily summarized; it takes the entire story to suggest the
meanings (Meyer, 426). She uses her characters to show irony, private experiences, fears, and
diverse parallels into her story Good Country People . One of the strongest parallels that I saw in
the story was between O Connor and the character Joy. She was the main protagonist of the
story, written as an unpleasant and lonely woman who has moved home to wait for her
imminent death. O Connor s life was much like Joy s life in many ways. Joy was a young girl in
her thirties, who had to move home because she had a weak heart which kept her from her the
life that she desired. She was not able to teach at a university using her degree in philosophy. She
lived at her childhood home in the country with her mother, reading books all day, every day. O
Connor, who also had to move home because she was getting sick with lupus, could not follow her

greatest qualities of an outstanding educator are passion, patience, flexibility, and the willingness

The passion that one has or do not have for what they are teaching shows thru and directly impacts
the effectiveness of their teaching. Maintaining a continued passion for the nursing profession
inspires students. Patience, so often is what makes or breaks an educator. Consequently, I have seen
many great nurses that just did not have the required patience to guide new nurses or students. This

Good Teachers In America
In America there are many good teachers. I believe that a good teacher needs to be funny, caring,
nice, relatable, and relaxed. A good teacher needs to be funny so that they can make boring
moments in class fun and not near as boring. Also, a teacher needs to be caring and really care
about her students. The teacher needs to be caring so that the students in the class feel important
and wanted. Another characteristic a good teacher has is being nice, the teacher also needs to be
nice so that if a studentis having a bad day that they will be able to cheer the student up. The
teacher also needs to be relatable so that the students can feel a connection to the teacher. Lastly, a
teacher needs to be relaxed so that the students will be allowed

Famous Artist Stereotypes Essay
Stereotypes are well known among humans and many of us have been faced with the criticism of
such stereotypes. One of the most well known stereotypes is those belonging to famous artists.
These stereotypes come from many of the movies created about such artists. Some believe that
famous artists are someone people that are abnormal or odd in their way of thinking or actions.
When asked what comes into someone s mind when asked about famous artists may also be how
they are not famous until death. Along with these beliefs, people believe that artists have a very
active sex life. Through media, these stereotypesare true but in all actuality, they are not correct.
When thinking about famous artists, many people believe that they all suffer from some type of
mental illness. Van Gogh is an example of the stereotype. Seventy days after Vincent moves to
Auvers sur Oise and under the care of Dr. Gachet, he dies from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Many know the artist to be quite ill mentally along with the fact of Van Gogh cutting his own ear
off. The man is known to have had many doctors by his side, checking ... Show more content on

In Frida, the main character Frida is shown being very active in her sex life. Diego Rivera
speaks to Frida about her unfaithfulness in their marriage, You ve broken my heart, Frida. It
hurts doesn t it? But why? It was just a fuck, like a handshake. (Frida). Some people do not
realize though that famous artists are not always active in their sex life. Berthe Morisot, a well
known artist, marries into a financially and socially stable relationship with the brother of another
well known male artist. Though she is married, Berthe is driven in her career to become a well
known artist and show her works through exhibitions (Berthe Morisot Biography). Though there are
facts proven that not all artists are sexually active, some will continue to prove such

Minimum Age Of Criminal Responsibility In England And Wales
This essay will look to explore and discuss the minimum age of criminal responsibility in
England and Wales and see if the minimum age should be brought into line with the rest of
Europe or not. The first thing to look at is the current age of criminal responsibility which is set at
10 years of age. (https://www.gov.uk/age of criminal responsibility). Looking at the law, the age of
10 seems to have been chosen on numerical grounds and belief that crimebecomes too popular at
the age of eleven. This was despite recommendation from the penal reform international which
argued that children under 12 should not be punished and the age should be increased, with a
potential rise to fourteen. (http://www.penalreform.org/wp content/uploads/2013/05/justice for
children briefing 4 v6 web_0.pdf). In recent years the boldness and humour towards young
offenders is high, due to an extensive public awareness of growth around youth crime and the
death of James Bulger by Robert Thompson and Jon Venable, who were 10 at the time of the killing.

Moreover there is a huge debate in the UK whether to increase the age of criminal responsibility,
in which I argue it should and should not. Although the age of criminal responsibility varies across
Europe. In Malta, children aged 9 to 14 can be held for offences committed with mischievous
discretion , to 12 in Netherlands and 14 in Monaco, (https://www.crin.org/en/home/ages/europe). In
the past couple of years there have been on a long debate in England and Wales, where the age is
10 and whether it should be

Naturalization Civics Test
Naturalization Civics Test
There have been millions of immigrants who try to become citizen in the United States. As far
as then becoming citizens is as far of American history knowledge they have. The Naturalization
Civics Test makes a person become a citizen a bit more easily. The Naturalization Civics Test is
important, because even one of even if you get 6 out of 10 in the test you still pass, the question
were intended to be hard but became easier, if you study your history it s an easy pass.
The Naturalization Civics Test helps you become a citizen with a less struggle. In the law office,
Carl Shusterman states, The test consists of 10 questions about U.S. history and government. The
applicant is required to answer at least 6 of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Naturalization Act of 1790, Wikipedia states, the law required two years of residence in the
United States and one year in the state of residence, prior to applying for citizenship. When those
requirements were met, an immigrant could file a Petition for Naturalization (Naturalization
Act of 1790).The quote explains to us what we need to do before we take the exams to make the
process go smoothly. After doing so then the exams are available and an easier approach.
Another example of this reason is when, states, he Bureau published the first Federal Textbook
on citizenship in 1918 to prepare naturalization applicants, and its Education for citizenship
program distributed textbooks to public schools offering citizenship education classes and
notified eligible aliens of available education opportunities (Marian L. Smith). The quote shows
us that there are books available to study witch in this case make the exams easier. That being
said anyone can get a book and study to pass the exams with no trouble. Additionally, Carl
Shusterman describes, so that instead of only having to answer simple questions relating to the
colors of the flag and the identity of the first President, applicants also have to deal with more
complex questions like What is the rule of law? (Shusterman). The quote demonstrates an
example of how some test questions can be tricky but with the right knowledge you can pass. The
books with the answers are being provided so in that case it would be smart to use them to pass
with less difficulties. Books hold knowledge and knowledge can take us far image how far we d go
if we studied the books it would make an exam look like a piece of

  • 2. William Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads Imagine traveling down a gravel road in the countryside, set in England during the 19th Century. As you continue your journey, you stumble across a woodland child and inquire about general questions. Being inquisitive and intrigued by her fair beauty, queries regarding he family arise and soon you find her concept of deathskewed. We are Seven, composed by William Wordsworth and published in Lyrical Ballads, is one of Wordsworth darker poems and unlike his characteristic Romantic style. Wordsworth lost his mother at the tender age of eight, coincidentally, the same age as the cottage girl. This poem stems from Wordsworth s personal experiences from when he journeyed across Europe later in life and stumbled across a child near Goodrich Castle, whom is alleged to be the muse behind this poem. The poem depicts the struggle the speaker faces as he tries to verbalize the truth over the deceased cottage girl s brother and sister. The characterizations regarding the speaker s social classand age in regards to his audience, the little girl, contribute to the colliding ideology during this exchange. Wordsworth begins the scene of this poem with the master strolling down a road in the countryside. The silence and loneliness of the poem breaks when the man comes across a little girl frolicking alone. Before any words are exchanged, a description of the child is given, alluding to her social standing among society. Described as having Her hair so thick with many a curl / That cluster ... • 3. The Power Of Solar Energy Power Use Solar power or what is commonly referred to as solar energy is the energy from the sun that is converted into thermal or electrical energy. This form of energy is the cleanest and most abundant since it is almost everywhere in the world. It is also renewable and hence through modern technological advancement it be harnessed into a wide range of uses such as electricity generation, lighting or indoor use, water heating, machine driving and other commercial as well as industrial applications. There are many more other benefits that come along with solar energy use apart from just the application, such as the environmental friendliness, cheapness in terms of production and use, and the value it adds on a business or a home. The U.S, just like any other industrialized country in the world, has been facing major power shortages due to the increased electricity demands for both industrial and home use. As the number of industries and companies increases in the country, electricity demand also increases. This implies that energy sources have to also increase. Most of the electricity is produced through the use of steam turbines powered by fossil fuels such as coal or petroleum and water in boilers, about one fifth of the energy is produced from nuclear power and the rest (only 13%) comes from renewable energy sources for example hydropower, wind power, biomass, solar power, and geothermal power (Fahrenbruch, et al., 54) The country needs to invest more in renewable energy ... • 4. Supervisory Influence In Greek Mythology Projective Identification. It has long been known among residents of the schools of psychological thought, that it is a common human tendency to project characteristics of one s self onto others or even onto inanimate objects. An example being that one day a person walks through a park and come across a formation of trash such that the trash resembles a smiley face. The reaction that they would exhibit is that they would see another s face when looking at this pile of garbage is an example of identification based on basic facial features. Similarly, humans do the same to gods, Greek or Egyptian. Desires considered to be human, and emotions such as rage, lust, and grief are common themes in myths surrounding these gods. In fact, such myths... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other areas of psychology suggest that humans believe God(s) exist(s) because they are simply used to having an entity watch over them, and because personalities desire the security and growth found from a supervisory relationship. Often in religion there are rules that shall not be disobeyed, or punishment that one would wish to avoid. In the Bible, one should act righteously by the commandments, lest they risk their eternal damnation in the pits of hell. In Greek mythology, cruel and unethical behavior may lead to the fields of punishment. And Hinduism s cycle of rebirth and karma dictates that if one acts unrighteously within this life, they shall surely be reborn as a being whose very existence is viewed as unpleasant, such as a barnacle. Varying takes on punishment aside, it is clear that religion and mythology have their own views on morality and the relative consequence of one s actions. But the fact remains that such stories exist to remind society as a whole that it should not behave in an immoral fashion. This being the case, it could be said that the deciding forces, Karma, God, and gods exist to supervise people, much as a parent or teacher would. Such myths and religious ideals exist to prevent conflict, and regardless of religious conflict in the world today, ideas such as the Ten Commandments remind humanity as a whole that the true aim of religion was truly to discourage conflict and encourage harmony. Have respect for life. The commandment You shall not kill means an obligation for a culture of non violence. (KГ¤ssmann, M. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Social Problem Of Crime This information analysis focuses on the social problem computer crime, but more specifically identity theft. In this paper, I analyzed six different articles from various sources. I chose cyber crime as my topic because I have an interest in computers and coding. I also like to watch documentaries and a television show on cybercrime scene investigations. Analyzing articles on this topic will help me develop further knowledge on this topic and how it is considered a social problem in our society. Computer crimerefers to any violation of the law in which a computer is the target or means of criminal activity (Mooney, Knox, Schacht, 2014, p.113). Computer crime is also known as cybercrime. Cybercrime continues to have far reaching effects because it affects individuals, companies, and organizations and is increasingly a problem in the globalized world we live in. This is because we rely so much on cell phones, computers, and us many social network sites. Cybercrime is considered a social problem because it negatively affects a large group of people in our society. In 2014, there were 1.5 million cyber attacks worldwide ( IBM Cyber Security Intelligence Index, 2015, pg.13). One type of computer crime is identity theft. Identity theft is the use of someone else s personal information to obtain credit or other economic rewards (Mooney, et al, 2014, pg.113). Through this, it may be seen why Othello is one of the most known tragic heroes of Shakespeare s many plays. In the beginning, Othello is a good man with an amazing personality which draws people closer to him. With Othello being a military pioneer for the greater part of his life, believing another military companion would be normal and along these lines, Othello was not motivated not to put stock in Iago. So, one might say that Othello has disastrous shortcomings, one being excessively dependable. Commonly Othello does not see the shrewd demonstrations of Iago. • 8. Essay On Kerkoff And Davis Filter Theory Describe and Evaluate two theories of the formation of romantic relationships Kerckoff and Davis (1962) presented a form of relationship formation theory known as the filter model. They believed that we have three filters that are important at different times before we can enter a relationship. We start with a field of availables , those who are free for relationships and gradually narrow them down using different stages to a field of desirables, and those who we would consider as potential partners. The first filter is the social and demographic variables where we tend to pick people with similar educational and economic background to us. The second filter is the similarity of attitudes and values, where people with different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Gruber Baldini et al (1995) found that couples who were similar were more likely to be together 20 years later, suggesting that similarity continues to be important. That strengthen the validity of the experiment. Furthermore, Kerchkoff used a student population in his study therefore this research may not be generalised to older or different members of society and adult relationship formation. In addition, the Filter theory fails to take into account individual differences. In real life, people give importance to different factors. The filter model is a 3 stage theory ,which makes it quite artificial and fails to capture the dynamics and fluency of relationships. In real life, relationships change and develop, some flow faster/slower and these factors cannot fit neatly into stages. Therefore the filter theory can t be applied to all relationships and is an incomplete explanation for relationship formation. Moreover, the filter model is reductionist as it simplifies complex relationships down to three stages. There is more to relationships than the theory states as the filter theory fails to explain love and other factors that may lead to the formation of relationships. Also the social demographic filter may be less important today as we have greater mobility and the ability to make contact and stay in touch electronically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will be exploring the short film Surviving Sabu which was written and directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid in 1998, with reference to the 1942 film The Jungle Book. My analysis will question the presentation of Indian and Muslim identities in both films. Surviving Sabu presents the relationship between two characters: a father and his son. The family have immigrated to England at some point in recent decades, although the audience is never told when or specifically where from. The characters have anonymity, we are not even told their names. They could be two individuals of any migrant Indian, Muslim family, and the son concludes that this is all that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They tell a kind of Indian folklore which is not of India, but constructed by Kipling himself. This is not to suggest that what The Jungle Book depicts is a work of complete imagination; essentially an idea with no corresponding reality, but rather that there are regular constellations of ideas which become the pre eminent thing about the Orient . The Orient is conceptualised by strict and rigid lines of thinking which can never do justice to the lives, histories and customs of the cultures and nations whose location is in the East . It is the pre supposed authority of what is said about them (the Orient) in the West which establishes the relationship between the Occident and the Orient as one of power, of domination, of varying degrees of cultural hegemony. 5 Kipling arguably secures this authority in his use of Hindi words and names; he can be perceived as merely documenting the true voices of the other . In the same way, the 1942 film presents a character who is played by an actor of Indian heritage; what is depicted henceforth says something true about Indian culture. Such presentations legitimise stereotypical and problematic representations of Orientalist characters, for example the village men in The Jungle Book as brutish, simple minded and power hungry. Isolation In Disney Pixar s Film Brave In the Disney Pixar animated film Brave, an unconventional princess, Merida, suffers from her own isolation her entire life as she acts contrary to how traditional royalty should. Not only does the movie take Merida on a journey of acceptance and learning, but forces Merida s mother, the queen, to live in exile alone in her own mind as she is transformed into a bear. The meaning of this mental isolation goes deeper than the surface themes of Brave, as Elinor nearly loses her humanity, revealing the impact isolation can have on one s humanity and how dire meaningful relationships are to a functioning society as a whole. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The main objective of this lab was to observe the effects of conversion of reactants in regard to temperature and time. The main reactants that were used are ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide in a saponification reaction. The expected products were sodium acetate and ethanol. This reaction was conducted in a batch reactor in isothermic conditions and adiabatic conditions. The variables of interest in this reaction are Conductivity, temperature, time and concentration. The reactants used were 400 ml of 5.0% ethyl acetate and 400 ml of 2.3% Sodium hydroxide. This is equivalent to 9.2 grams of sodium hydroxide which has 0.23 moles. The measured conductivity of the sodium hydroxide initially before the start of the experiment was 112.2 mS/cm. The sodium hydroxide was mixed with the acetic ether and recordings of the conductivity were recorded down in intervals of 10 seconds to approximately 3 minutes. In the experiment conducted, during the adiabatic reaction, a gradual temperature increase was noted over the period. The temperature increase was accompanied by a decrease in the conductivity measured. This is attributed to the increase in conversion percentage of the reactants. The increase in conversion percentage is due to the temperature increase which caused the reaction of the reactants as they form a new product and this consequently causes the temperature increase. During the isothermic reaction, the temperature of the reaction was maintained at a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theory Of The Mind Body Dualism RenГ© Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher of the 16th Century, who, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, was one of the first to abandon scholastic Aristotelianism and created the first version of the modern mind body dualism or emotion (Encyclopedia Britannica). Born on March 31, 1596, he was dubbed as the Father of Modern Philosophy. His theory on the mindbody dualism, also known as Cartesian Dualism, created a stem of the modern problem of the relationship between the mind and body. He created the early version to further explain the interaction of the mind and body, to create a firm foundation that can be explained through science and to prove the existence and goodness of God, and how the soulcould be immortal. Along with that, he mentioned that the mind is different from the body. One of the basic thesis of his Cartesian Dualism is that a mental substance cannot have a physical form, and that said physical form cannot have experiences , for the mind and body cannot function without the other (Chin Tai Kim 337). In his Cartesian Dualism, RenГ© Descartes believes that every human being possesses a body and mind (Nath 1). Though, there are some philosophers who might have agreed, disagreed or criticized about his theory. They realized that the Board of Education wasn t doing proper testing for minority students. The students were put into special needs classes, so Clark started to do his own testing and realized that many of these students intelligence was above average. (Nyman, 2010). The modern system of vaccine development, regulation and testing was developed during the 20th century. To engender a vaccine mediated immunization or protection has been a major challenge. Presently available vaccines work primarily through the induction of the antigen specific antibodies. The effectiveness of any vaccine is determined by the quality of the antibodies, as their work pattern and avidity. For a long term effect through vaccines, the antibodies should be persistent or generated immune memory cells should be capable of instantaneous response in case of any microbial exposure. Vaccine Design and Development Development of vaccines includes two broad stages. First stage covers laboratory and animal Studies including recognition of appropriate antigens e.g. screening, creation of a vaccine concept, efficacy testing and manufacturing of the vaccine at good standards. This stage may last for 1 2 years and often some candidate vaccines cannot go beyond this stage due to the potential lack of immunity generation. After this, the next step includes clinical studies on human beings. First a small group of humans are tested with the vaccine, followed by a larger group, to assess the safety and extent of the immune response that vaccine can provoke. Successful trial phases are followed by an approval and licensing procedure. FDA approves the labeling of vaccine after satisfaction and inspection of the manufacturing unit. His sources were not merely the more traditional sources of the historian: political, military and economic accounts; rather, he drew from the rich, heady brew of art, music, dance, literature and philosophy as well. Eksteins examined ways in which life influenced, imitated, and even became art. Eksteins argues that life and art, as well as death, became so intermeshed as to be indistinguishable from one another. Eksteins contends that because Germans saw themselves as the agent of (inevitable) progress, they felt their role in The Great War was defensive rather than aggressive. To attack Germany was to attack the future. This belief that they must defend their homeland from those who would deny the future, sustained the Germans during and after the war, and into the next one. Eksteins realized that Hitler was not an anomaly; Hitler touched a sympathetic chord within the Germans. Although Eksteins discussed that any group may want to find scapegoats when things go wrong, citing the tendencies of the French to look beyond themselves for explanations of failure, he implies that, in Germany, finding scapegoats produced such horrific results because preexisting sentiments of anti Semitism combined with the violence and power of Nazism.
