Analysis Of Column 7L
During the initial site walk, cracking was observed on the north corbel of column 7B, as labeled
on the 2014 structural drawings for the site. During the renovations in 2014, steel columns were
added in the vicinity of the B line of columns in this area of the structure. Given that these new
columns may have been added to take additional stresses caused by the renovations and/or
additions, observation of the deteriorated conditions of this corbel warranted additional
investigation of other corbels in the area. This was not part of the original scope of work, but
TKW has observed and reported on the condition of some of these corbels as a courtesy to the client.
The first corbels inspected were at column 7B. Both the north and south ... Show more content on

From this position, the northern corbel at column 5B appears to have similar conditions compared
to column 6B. A significant portion of the corbel has fallen off and is lying on top of the CMU
wall in that area (Figure 26). The bearing conditions look similar to column 6B, but exact
measurements were not possible. The condition of the beam bearing on the corbel was not visible,
but padding for bearing can be seen in the location.
At column 4B, the northern corbel has cracked significantly at one corner of the corbel (Figure
27). The cracked portion is hanging from the corbel by a small section of concrete at the top of the
corbel. Due to spatial constraints, measurements could not be made, but the section of concrete
hanging from the corbel appears to be about ВЅin thick. Small pieces of concrete were found on the
ground in this area, suggesting that the corbel is slowly deteriorating. Bearing pads appear to be in
use on the southern corbel only, which shows no signs of deterioration.
The northern corbel at column 3B is beginning to crack along one of its corners (Figure 28).
Spatial constraints did not permit actual measurements, but the crack appears to be 0.012in
0.025in wide. Due to the presence of drywall in the area, it is difficult to gauge the depth of the
crack as the attached drywall could be helping to holding the concrete in place. The southern corbel
does not exhibit any signs of deterioration. Bearing pads appear to be utilized on both corbels.

Woodrow Wilson The Meaning Of A Liberal Education Summary
Woodrow Wilson s The Meaning of a Liberal Education speech has four main arguments. One point
that he makes is the future is always changing and the school system needs to also, change to keep
up with everything that is going around the world. The next point Wilson makes is, he disagrees
and talks about problems with the institutional education. Another topic Wilson talks about is
liberal and technical education, and the last main argument Wilson talks about is the different types
of knowledge, and everyone has different methods of learning. For the future changing point,
Wilson uses an example about life in the present and in the past, and how complex life and learning
has gotten in modern society. Woodrow Wilson
also, gave an example of a scholar with his door
closed, and his window open. Wilson states The present need is that we should examine
ourselves...to make a radical change, in the things we have attempted (3). Wilson also, talks about
how modern people don t know what to teach their pupils because they don t know what they are
going to be when they are older. In the disagreement and problems with institutional education,
Wilson uses ad hominem. Wilson attacks the modern educational school system, that they tried to
teach everything at once, and in the end they have completely failed at properly teaching a student.

when it is explained to you (7). Wilson uses bandwagon saying that everyone one wants one class

Three Cups Of Tea Analysis
Three Cups of Tea
Mian Muhammad Mansha a Pakistani entrepreneur once said Terrorism is partly linked to people
who have no jobs in Pakistan. Rural regions with a dearth amount of education are later on coerced
into the Taliban, because of the lack of jobs available for the extent of education the population has.
Three Cups of Tea, co written by Dr. Greg Mortenson and David Relin shows Mortenson s personal
journeys with building schools in Pakistan, which prevented young Pakistani males from joining
the terrorist groups. The author writes in elements that makes society aware of the harsh conditions
Pakistani children go through, to go to school. He uses credibility, factual, and emotionally arousing
elements to make the audience sympathize for the kids that are in poverty.

Mortenson himself in the Pakistani village was appalled to see eighty two children, seventy eight

amount of children in one village that wants an education, to be willing to stand in harsh
environment just to get an education. In addition, shows how severe the lack of school buildings
and appropriate educators is for those poverty struck children. Determined, he came to a wealthy
former mountain climber comparable to himself to ask for a donation for any contribution of the
twelve thousand dollars...it would take [him] to complete the school (55). The cost to build the
school could be compared to a slap in the face to him when he calculated the expense to solve the
problem. The fact that it costs twelve thousand dollars to decrease the amount of power the Taliban

Impact Of The New Revenue Recognition Standard
Impact of the New Revenue Recognition Standard
Internship Course
Caleb Cartledge

Change is on the horizon and many companies are scrambling trying to figure out how the New
Revenue Recognition Standard will impact the way that they conduct business. The prospect of
bracing for a game changing revenue recognition standard at a larger global firm is a daunting task.
GE Technical Controller Russell Hodge, CPA, commented about this stating, I ll admit to it being a
little bit overwhelming to us. We have $150 billion of revenue and so many diverse, different
business models. It s a tough question. It s a tough thing to think about. (http:/
/journalofaccountancy.com/Issues/2014/Mar/revenue recognition 20149444.htm) With experienced
well known firms such as GE being concerned, it shows that even the most experienced companies
are concerned with how the new standards will fundamentally change the way that they conduct
business. The main purpose of this essay is to explore how the new revenue recognition standard
will effect different industries when it comes to fruition in 2017. The secondary purpose of this
essay is to discuss ways that these different companies can mitigate risk by effectively preparing for
these changes by using preventative controls.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the topics discussed above, The Financial Accounting
Standards Board recently issued a new set of standards governing revenue recognition. The new
standards will take effect on

Comparing Crime And Punishment By Albert Camus
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky and The Stranger by Albert Camus both explore
changes in a man as he goes through stages of his life, including committing a crime. These authors
explore what defines a man; the crimes he commits and the punishments that result take their toll on
him. What determines their decency? Dostoevsky and Camus pour their own histories into their
work to examine the souls of mankind, and find that love is the deciding factor in a man s
morality and gives him his source of life.
In Crime and Punishment, Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov is the protagonist. He believes there
are only two types of people in the world: Napoleon type people and the ordinary. The Napoleon
people are the extraordinary. These people, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

plotting revolution. Dostoevsky waited to be released from prison so he could continue his life.
He wasn t yet married, but would soon begin a relationship, just like Raskolnikov when he

and wait to be married. This finally adds meaning in Raskolnikov s life. ...for her there was no
longer any doubt that he loved her, loved her infinitely...there already shone the dawn of a
renewed future, of complete resurrection into a new life. They were resurrected by love; the

Raskolnikov was saying Pah, how paltry it all is! (Dostoevsky 10), but then he was risen and he

criminals are damned. He would think that everyone deserved a second chance, despite his or her

Analytical Essay On The Movie Selma
The United States of America, a country viewed by many as glorious and opportunistic, endured
moments in history that shall never be forgotten. Since the beginning of the Civil War in the
1800s, the act to end slavery was gruesome and horrifying. A war was fought between the free
and slave states to eradicate slavery in the country for ever. In the year 1865, slavery was
abolished, nonetheless, the evil in many Confederate cities and states was still alive. Selma is a
breath taking movie about Martin Luther King Jr. and his fight against this evil. With death threats
sent to his home, and his own followers beaten by troopers, Dr. King never backed down. Having
the right to vote is exceedingly vital in having a voice in the government, and the kinds of laws and
bills that should be passed. In the beginning of this movie, an African Americanwoman prepares her
documents to be allowed to vote. When she hands the documents to the white worker, he begins
questioning the woman. His main incentive is simply not give her the right to vote. The movie
states that fifty percent of Selma is African American, however, merely two percent are allowed to
vote. It is the power held by white officials that denied their vote. Many people took to the streets
to peacefully protests this injustice and inequality that loomed in the system. As stated both in the
movie and the New York Review article, people have suffered and died for the right to vote. For
instance, a young man named Jimmie

However, according to De Botton and Nietzsche fulfillment is an illusion . Hardships are the
reason to our happiness. We should focus on avoiding pain not seeking pleasure . In other
words, happiness comes from the absence of happiness. You cannot be constantly happy and not
everyone understands happiness the same way. Because happiness itself cannot be defined as
an undeniable truth. It varies. However, there is some truths in it. Not long ago, my good friend
Kant and I were discussing this matter and he said to me something that I consider true. He said
that Happiness and Virtue are two distinct things. Happiness is not proportional to well doing
Only Virtue is good without any implications, no matter what it achieves. Gifts of nature such as
intelligence, qualities of temperament like courage or perseverance, are often good but may be
used for evil ends unless directed by a good will. Gifts of fortune which include riches and health
can also be used for good or ill. Even moderation and self control are not good in themselves but
require a good will . In other words, Happiness is not the Supreme Good. We thrive to live life
with Virtue. Happiness comes and goes. There are some aspects in architecture that do bring
happiness. But they do not last forever and that should be something to embrace instead of being
avoided. Hell, for most of my life I lived on the streets and have been overwhelmed by happiness

Foucault, Femininity And The Modernization Of Patriarchal...
In Foucault, Femininity, and the Modernization of Patriarchal Power, Sandra Bartky utilizes
Michel Foucault s concepts about power to help explain femininity. Throughout the article, she
details how society forces women to fit within the confines of this construct and how it affects them.
Sandra Bartky begins her piece by explaining Michel Foucault s ideas about modern power
dynamics. Unlike in the past, power in modern society focuses not only on controlling the products
of the body but, rather, on governing all its activities. In order for this power to continue, people
are disciplined into becoming docile bodies which are subjected and practiced (Bartky, 63). This
discipline is imposed through constant surveillance in a manner similar to the Panopticon. Inmates
in said prison are always visible to a guard in the central tower, so they mentally coerced into
monitoring their own behavior. In the same way, individuals become their own jailers and subject
themselves to the society s whim due to being in a state of conscious and permanent visibility to
its all seeing eye (65). Bartky, however, breaks from Foucault s theory by claiming that there is a
clear difference in the disciplines imposed on men and women that are ignored in the latter s
writings.
Bartky posits that neither women nor men are born feminine or masculine; they are disciplined into
those molds. She delineates three categories of disciplinary practices that produce feminine women.
The first she

works for a greater purpose, not just to tell a story; Mark Twain writes his works with the great

Loyalty to petrified opinions well, that may lead to more severe behaviors such as, misbehavior,
dictatorship, and, depending on the opinion in mind, death or serious injury. A human soul
depicts as a very valuable item and throwing it away because of close mindedness displays as a
common yet, stupid move on their part. If everyone continue to evolve around petrified opinions,
they may never break a chain or free a human soul so, anyone who can needs to open their minds
up to the people around them and their ideas.
As humans, people make mistakes and, as Mark Twain displays, a major mistake humans make
loyalty to petrified opinions runs the world. If the world could get rid of all of the mistakes they
make, the world would become a much better place.
Therefore, Mark Twain really does care about the world tremendously and he tries to give
everyone advice on how to improve it. Humans have started ruining the world and the way many

precious world they live in and so many people s long sought after reputations. People will never

State Centricity Is Vital On The Understanding Of Neo...
State centricity is vital in the understanding of neo realist thought. Neo realism is based on three
key features, Survival, Self help and Statism where the outcomes of policies must benefit the state
first and foremost. In this way, the decision making processes are made by the state rather than
international actors. Consequently, the state centric approach deals predominately with the state
being of utmost importance in relation to other global matters. However this approach fails to
appropriately deal with the global problem that is climate change. Thus climate challenges this
notion of state centricity within the realist discourse.
Combatting climate change requires international commitment and participation. However in the
modern day, nature has become a commodity. Natural resources are something that you can use,
buy and sell within the global economy rather than their scarcity being a focus of concern. The
competition between individual states for these resources (such as water and minerals) further
enforces the survivalist nature of neo realism and the state centric system. In this sense, the current
approach to climate change conforms to the realist notion of state centricity but if anything is to be
done about it, climate change must challenge the status quo as it is a global problem. This is
mainly a consequence of the Treaty of Westphalia (1648) which saw states regarded as the major
actors within the international system. Moreover, this saw the emergence of

Foundationalism In William Shakespear s Much Ado About...
The word Foundationalism was given a clear definition by Descartes, meaning someone looking
for a clear and certain foundation. There is a way to accomplish this task, meaning order to find
or build a foundation or a base that is certain, one must first destroy everything one believes to
know start from the very beginning. The goal is to find things that are absolute indubitable ,
meaning it is 100 percent certain or it can not under any circumstances be doubted (Descartes 13).
The play Much ado about nothingwritten by William Shakespear would not be the first thing that
comes to mind when considering anything being indubitable. It is entails clear social and gender
issues of its time. With this essay, I wish to point out how the men boast themselves in so much
honor and masculinity, that they are easily blinded by a simple lie. So simple in fact, that it took an
entire plot built on Hero s death to reveal the truth. If a woman s mind, body and soul were more
valuable, there would have been no need to lie and deceive once more to prove Hero s
innocence. This is important, because women are still judged more harshly for being involved
with a man before marriage, or having multiple partners. While men can marry after being known
to be very far from celibacy themselves, but wish to have a virgin or a woman with fewer and
closer to zero sexual partners. This misogynistic double standard was carried into the movie by
Kenneth Branagh. In this case, first I would like to look

This is important because studies have shown that kids who live in single parent homes are less
likely to be active then kids who live with both parents. This makes sense because single parents
have a lot of things to do during the day and probably cannot get their child/ren to and from
certain places, creating a barrier for the youth to participate in various activities. Our last target
market will be catered to families who have a high participation rate in youth activities. Our logic
behind this is if these kids are already participating in activities it will be easier to get them to
participate in something as positive as Kid Fit. Youth who are involved in physical activities

Chandler-Personal Narrative
Chandler wheels me out the front hospital doors and into the early Winter air. I take a deep lung
chilling breath as we stop to wait for my mom to pull up. Due to me being a stubborn ads and not
listening when anyone said to take it easy I popped my stitches constantly which resulted in a
longer stay in the hospital due to the depth of my wounds. It s not like I can t handle a little pain
here and there.
Chandler shivered as the icy wind picked up causing my curls to swirl around my face like
ribbons trapped in the gust. My eyes were slightly watering and my fingers were tightly tucked
under my armpits to keep them from freezing off. Don t get me wrong I love the cold seasons
but not so much when all on was wearing was a worn and faded black ACDC t shirt, some blue
jeans, converses, and one of Chandler s thin dark grey jackets. My mom finally pulls up looking
straight at the gloomy skies ahead. Her face lacked any emotion and her eyes were dull as she
patiently waited for me to inter the truck. Of course since I m only 5 3 and wielding 12 stitches in
my left side Chandler gently helped me into the truck.
As I got settled in the warm leather seat I weakly smiled at him. There was sadness and regret in
his eyes as he feebly smiled back at me. He still blames himself for what happened. I slowly leaned

22 Cheers Play
22 STEPS is a dramatic thriller driven by strong themes of survival and perseverance. The idea of
friends coming together to save another friend is well appreciated. The goal is clear and the stakes
are high.
The story has a defined three act structure and the script is goal focused. The script is easy to read.
While solid themes drive the script, the script would benefit from more development. The areas that
are worth discussing include the structure, the tension, tone, believability, and character
development, including dialogue.
The script is structured around the idea of the friends watching a play that dramatizes their real life
event. Unfortunately, this isn t a structure that is very engaging. The reason the play and the

All the characters need to have more depth. A nice attempt to give them backstories is made, but
this doesn t really give him depth.
Also, understanding more of their relationship with Aria will help. Maybe one of them doesn t
like Aria, but is trapped into helping. Maybe the story shouldn t have a lockdown. Maybe the kids
are at the school afterhours when the attacker appears and they can t get out of the school. Maybe
they are trapped too. Give them stronger moral choice to make. Maybe one of them has the chance
to either save Aria or escape and they have to make that choice.
Regardless, the characters need to feel more realistic. One reason they don t feel compelling is due
to the dialogue. Dialogue can be challenging. Currently, the dialogue sounds on the nose and
generic. They also tend to repeat information and sound rather immature. Try to give the characters
more unique, mature (serious) voices that distinguish them from each other. It s difficult to truly tell

Dbq 11 Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor
It was just an ordinary, lazy, Sunday morning to the thousands of military personnel at the Pearl
Harbor Naval Station. Then, the unthinkable happened. Over the loud speaker a call came to warn
the people about the impending attack that was about to take place only a few short minutes away.
They were unprepared for what was about to happened. Within minutes, the Japanese planes flew
over bombing the Naval station leaving a trail of total destruction. Because of this one horrific act,
the United States of America joined the allies in what would be the beginning of a long, bloody war.

Most Americans hated the aggressive actions of Japan and Germany, but many people in the United
States, called isolationists, did not want to go to war. They did not want to be drawn into the
bloodshed and destruction engulfing the world. They believed that the United States interests were
not threatened. America soil, so they thought, was safe between the shores of two gigantic oceans.
Although United States Japan relations had become increasingly strained because of Japanese
aggression the United States remained neutral. To prevent war, the leaders of the two countries
decided to meet and talk about a way to solve their differences. Japan sent a special representative
to the United States. His name was Saburo Kurusu. He joined Kichisaburo Nomuro, the Japanese
already in Washington. Nomura and Kurusu were instructed to continue talks as long as possible
with the American government. The spokesperson for America was Cordell Hall. He was the
American secretary of state, a very important official.
The three men had a difficult job to accomplish. The American government demanded that Japan
leave Southeast Asia and China alone and resume peaceful ways. Japan demanded that the United
States convince China to agree to Japanese terms and they also wanted the United States to trade
oil, steel, and iron to Japan again. The demands of the two countries would be difficult to reconcile,

Definition Of Frames
A frame is a set of contexts and perspectives that defines how an individual perceives and responds
to facts, events or people. Frames are intellectual stereotypes that make the interpretation of the
world around us easy by filtering out details that we believe or have found in the past to be
insignificant. This simplification sometimes has its own problems that can in turn be addressed by
reframing. The deliberate and conscious management, reformation and refinement of frames that
aims to address and minimize the conflict between how things are and how one perceives it, is
called reframing. Reframing, essentially, is a process of analyzing, reshaping and improving frames
so that the reflective practitioners may be able to better understand

Nirvana In The Grunge Era
In the early 1990 s a new genre of music and fashion was born amongst the United States. This new
statement, called Grunge, quickly spread throughout the United States and became a rapidly
growing phenomenon. Nirvana would become the poster child of this culture during the nineties.
Nirvana s front man, Kurt Cobain would empower the grungeera with his strong lyrics, and
dramatic guitar riffs to help popularize this new sound. Before the tragic end of Kurt Cobain,
Nirvanawould help jump start a new genre of Indie rock music, popularize fashion and forever be

Nature Vs Nurture Theory Of George Dilson
Lester Joseph Gillis, aka George Nelson, was born in 1908. He was killed in 1934 by FBI agents in
Illinois three months after his partner in crime, John Dillinger, was found and killed by the FBI.
He was 25 when he died. His wife was sentenced a year in jail. He was a bank robber, gangster,
smuggler, and killer. He killed more FBI agents in the line of duty than anyone else.
His childhood had everything to do with how and why Lester Gillis became George Nelson. When
he was a young teenager, he was in a gang in Chicago. He became known as Baby face Nelson by
the members of the gang. As an adult, he was five feet and four inches tall and weighed roughly
133 pounds (FBI, pg.1). This component lead to the violence and disregard he demonstrated
towards other people and the law all throughout his life.
The nature vs nurture theory describes that genetics can cause predispositions to mental illnesses,
or behaviors that lead people to make poor decisions or even become criminals. (Good Therapy,
pg. 1) The reasons behind George Nelson is mostly accountable towards his environment and how
he was raised.
From a young age, Nelson proved to have behavioral problems with others. When he was seven,
he went to state reformatory for a year after he shot another child in the jaw with a pistol he found.
(Nelson Journal, pg. 1) This was an accident, but it would not be the only person that he shot in his
life. This kind of behavior in children is genetic because a violent, mean

Deaf People Disability
Do Deaf people have a disability? What is the difference between Deaf and deaf ?
A disability can be defined as a limitation of function because of an impairment (Lane, 2008, p.
277). To some, deaf people [seem] limited in some functions because of an impairment of hearing
(Lane, 2008, p. 277). However, this determination of disability has arisen from norms and the
technologies of normalization (Lane, 2008, p. 279) by the hearing and otherwise able bodied
world. To the hearing world, Deaf people lack the ability to hear; a sense which so many of us
hearing people depend on. In actuality, the only reason Deaf people seem to suffer is because
we, the hearing majority, have placed our own beliefs and values on them. By labeling Deaf
people as disabled, we are guilty of audism and ableism, as we [insist] that inherent biological
factors determine individual traits and capacity (Lane, 2008, p. 282), and assume their life is
lacking because they either cannot hear or cannot hear as well as we think they should. If we were
to change our mentality about accessibility, about human rights, and about individuality, it would
seem clear that the only reason Deaf people are limited in any way is because the majority makes

English Language Instruction:
The Nepali Educational System
Kelsey Wolff
Linguistics 371: World Englishes
Felicia Jean Steele
March 23, 2015
The necessity for a global language has always existed to break down the barriers between nations
and for communication to create a sense of a global community. English is quickly filling that
niche, and instruction in English as a second language is expanding worldwide to places such as
Nepal. Nepal is a land locked country located in Southern Asia bordered by China in the north and
India in the south, east, and west with varying geographical areas, from high mountains to low

Although there have been some educational policies passed to enforce the study of English, the
establishment of English as a second language in Nepal has been limited due to resource shortages,
poor training of teachers, and the prevalence of varying local mother languages, which makes
instruction in English difficult. Additionally, English has created a rift between the social classes
as good English language education is usually only available to those students who come from an
influential family. For these reasons, as opposed to being treated as a second language, English is
still treated as foreign language in Nepal.
The country of Nepal is home to approximately twenty seven million people, with ninety two
different identified languages spread across the numerous ethnic groups. About eighty seven
percent of the country s population speak one of the five major languages: Nepali, Maithili,
Bhojpuri, Tharu, and Tamang (Weinberg, 62). However, Nepali is spoken as a primary language by
about half of the total population. Out of the ninety two identified languages, fifty nine each have
less than ten thousand speakers (Bista, 2). The total population speaking these fifty nine languages
is about point five percent, with the majority of these non dominant languages in danger of
becoming extinct because of the declining population of speakers (Ghimire, 1). Additionally, the
language of Nepali is used in legal affairs, business transactions, mass media,

Nuclear Waste In Australia Essay
The overarching question of, Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia? will be
answered in this outcome. Nuclear waste is material that has been used in a nuclear reactor. It
looks exactly the same on the outside, as it did when it went into the reactor (see Figure 1). Once
nuclear fission has taken place inside the reactor to make electricity, the Uraniumbreaks into many
unstable isotopes. These isotopes will remain radioactive for thousands of years. Hence, the need
for more nuclear waste storage facilities. A storage facility in South Australia would be
geographically perfect and hold low level (plastic), intermediate (see Figure 2) and high level
waste, like spent uranium fuel cells. The answer will be supported and derived from multiple
sources, including; my survey data, expert reports, statistics, graphs and tables.
Overall Question Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia?
According to public voting records, two thirds of South Australian citizens, are against the proposal
of a nuclear waste plant. This was similar to the results gained from the survey, since 82% of the
respondents were against. Despite these statistics, the positives of a nuclear waste plant in South
Australia, far outweigh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would require federal approval and changes to the law. This decision will affect numerous

Program
The primary elements of the department are academic advising, transfer application assistance,
transfer assistance, academic counseling. As a strength, the program is intentional in providing
students with reliable information to transfer, since the information is always changing. Also, the
department is strong in implementing services such as conferences, workshops, summer programs,
and campus tours that with assist students in the transfer process. Another strength of the
department is a consistent collaboration with other programs within the institution to benefit the
students such as collaboration with programs like Puente and EOP S in which these programs bring
their student to the Transfer Center to attend Transfer 101 workshops. An area in which the
department was inconsistent with the CAS standards was in not having established student learning
outcomes. In addition, the department was also inconsistent in their program design not using
multiple formats to deliver the information, for example lacking a video presence, not doing
enough to engage with parents, therefore being unconsidered of their student population.
Organization and Leadership The leadership practices of the department are consistent with the

My Travel Experience
My journey the day I left my home country in search of a better life was not as pleasurable or
exciting as I expected. Although it was not a long flight, the accumulation of unexpected
vicissitudes during the trip made my dream of traveling an absolute nightmare. Not only my
sadness to be leaving my family behind, the uncertainty to fly alone and for the first time, or my
inexperience with the procedures at the airport contributed to this calamity, but even my neighbor
on the plane added his bit of sand in the affair. My trauma was such that after that day, I thought I

be assisted, since the only two assistants available at the time for that function had a lively talk
and did not appear to be in any hurry to attend the row of impatient travelers waiting to be served.
Until finally my turn came! The young woman took my documentation with such slow movements

my luggage on a big scale that was right next to me. I did not have much in my suitcase, only
clothes for a week, a couple of family photos, and a small bag with my makeup, body lotions, and
perfume. Since everything was in order with the weight, they tagged my luggage and put it on a

Throughout the check in process, I tried to show myself strong and calm; I did not want my
relatives there to see the pain and sadness reflected in my face for leaving them behind. When it

The Role Of Multinational Companies
Introduction
Competitiveness has become one of the most important determinants of both prospects and assesses
the functioning of the company in the market, and is seen as a determinant development.
Competition between companies is an inherent characteristic of a market economy. From the
practical point of view it is important to recognize and understand the conditions and factors that
have an impact on the competitiveness of enterprises. Drafted the research problem requires a
comprehensive approach including the aspects and characteristics of the MNE, foreign investment
importance and competitive advantage.
Multinational companies
The role of multinational companies (MNEs) in international trade has become very great
importance in the last 20 years. This is in large part to the increase in the integration of national
economies and technological progress, in particular in the area of communication. The growing
importance of MNEs develop complex issue of taxation on both the tax administration as well as
MNEs, since the regulations of each country in the taxation of MNEs can be considered in isolation,
but should be considered in the wider international importance (Grimwade, 2000).
The concept of foreign direct investment (FDI) is closely related to the definition of transnational
corporation (MNE, MNC, transnational corporations). In the literature, there are several definitions
describing the features that should have a firm considered as multinational enterprises.

The Crime Types Of Crime In Criminological Crimes
To explain the crime type of sexual offences, it is important to decipher how crime is made sense
of, specifically exploring the definitions and attitudes to sexual offences. Exploring the crime
throughout history and during the present day, so called, epidemic of sexual offences; laws, trends
and attitudes will allow concepts to form as to how these views to sexual offences have impacted
on theories with in criminological knowledge.
Definitions
Crime is defined in the oxford dictionary as An action or omission which constitutes an offence
and is punishable by law. Criminologists look at change within the law, media reactions and
statistical trend; to create theoretical views and concepts to explain crime and the criminal mind.
A sexual offence is defined in the oxford dictionary as The action or an act of forcing an
unconsenting person to engage in sexual activity; a rape; (Law) a crime involving forced sexual
contact, variously defined as inclusive or exclusive of rape. Actual definitions are important in
the understanding of a specific crime type and are regularly updated, especially when it comes to
consent; through history, what acts as consent has been contested. Consent as of 2003 has been
defined in section 74 of the sexual offences act (2003) if he agrees by choice, and has the freedom
and capacity to make that choice (CPS, 2017). This means that consent may be implied, but can be

The Food Contamination By Bisphenol A Is Unknown, But The...
The overall food contamination by Bisphenol A is unknown, but the nutrition/ health impact of
this chemical is an important subject to be discussed for all individuals. The main aim of one
study recently analyzed was to assess the reproductive impact of BPA leached from regularly
available polycarbonate plastic containers. The bottles specifically chosen for testing were those
that were used by children. The migration of BPA occurs in polycarbonateplastics (i.e. water bottles
and baby bottles). Toxicology reports show society the importance of evaluating these products
before purchase and consumption as a consumer. For a particular experiment, researchers used
Daphnia Magna, a small flea that cleans and absorbs particles that infect the solution they are
placed in, and bred them in the polycarbonate containers. A control group was created using water
bottles without the infection of these creatures. A GC MS machine to detect the level of BPA
released by each polycarbonate plastic then evaluated the water. An increase in the reproduction of
BPA was detected when the Daphnia Magna were bred inside the container. Although these
organisms effected the leaching of Bisphenol A, the GC MS was able to detect, through the control
group, that BPA is released without DM. An Eco toxicological effect was observed through all of
this testing, and provided evidence to substantiate the fact that Bisphenol A is leached from
polycarbonate plastics. The BPA was further analyzed in the Daphnia

If the medication to render the patient s unconsciousness fails, awareness occurs. The patients may
feel pain, while the pain and sleep medication fail the paralytic agent doesn t, making it impossible
for the patient to communicate this dire situation to the surgeon/anesthesiologist. This awareness
occurs infrequently, and the timespan and the harshness vary. Patients may or may not feel pain.
Some just feel lots of pressure. It is estimated that 1 2 in every 1000 general anesthesia patients
experience some level of awareness. Common cause of anesthesia awareness is insufficient
anesthesia and equipment failure of misuse. Using a deep anesthetic during high risk emergency
surgeries may not be in the best interest of the patient. In these situations, awareness might not be
completely avoidable. There are stages of Awareness. Gradual suppression of cognitive function.
The 4 stages of awareness during general anesthesia are conscious awareness with explicit memory,
with this it may or may not be associated with pain but includes a state of helplessness. Some
patients can go on to develop severe unexplained psychiatric disorder. Consciousness without

The Integration Of Officially Integrating Borrowings Into...
The integration of loanwords
With the purpose of officially integrating borrowings into the host language and for speakers to
casually use them in their conversations, all borrowings and creations undergo linguistic changes
based on the features of the recipient language. The following words will analyse the phonological
and morphosyntactic strategies used in French language contact situations.
Phonetical change
Every language has its own phonological system and therefore reproducing foreign sounds is
usually a great linguistic difficulty. The most common strategy to deal with the acoustic
reproduction of loanwords is to treat them as native words, thus, speakers approximately re interpret
the sounds in loanwords following the familiar phonological framework of the hosting language.
Phonological changes can be minimal or perhaps greatly, to the extent that speakers of the donor
language may struggle to identify the loanword as a word of their own . The result of the
adaptation of loanwords creates a certain uncertainty in the speakers. However, this instability and
incertitude contribute to maintain the foreign feature alive in foreign words, in comparison to the
fixed pronunciation of autochthonous words.
In situations where French is the recipient language, loanwords are phonologically restructured to
fit the French syllabary system. Considered being one of the most purist languages French speakers
have a strong loyalty towards their native language. It is for this

Did Daniel Francois Malan Contribute To Apartheid In South...
This investigation will explore the question: How did Dr. Daniel Francois Malan negatively
contribute to Apartheid in South Africa beginning in 1948? The focus of this investigation, is
the making of the National Party and Malan s role as a white supremacist in South Africa. The
first source which will be evaluated is Robert Schrire s book Malan to De Klerk , published in
1994 in New York, by St. Martin s Press. The origin of this source is valuable because Schrire
received a Bachelor degree in economics from UCT, followed by his Masters from the School of
International Service in Washington DC, and his PHD from the University of California. Due to his
extensive amounts of education regarding foreign studies, like the information analyzed... Show

Although the situation at first seemed easily comprehensive, but after further investigation, the
actual situation was far more complex. This shows how it is important for historians to search
thoroughly through documents to understand historical events. Unlike a mathematician or a
scientist, being a historian does not instill absolute truth or total understanding regarding an event.
With historical events, there are different interpretations and different viewpoints to be taken into
consideration when drawing conclusions. Sources have values and limitations, which are heavily
analyzed before the source itself is used. Likewise, historians have to find sources, which ideally
line up with the truth. When assessing limitations, if found that my sources seemed to agree with
pointing to Malan for having a large impact and have credible authors which made the limitations
hard to find. I regarded Schrire s novel Malan to De Klerk highly valuable, because it gave insight
into the start of apartheid specifically under Malan s rule who I investigated. Secondly, I
considered the letter sent from Sisulu to Malan valuable because it showed how the people were
oppressed. This also demonstrated contrasting views to Malan, and a firsthand account of an
individual

Love in HJohn DonneВґs A Valediction Forbidding Mourning...
Some of the most analyzed aspects of emotion and the life, by literary greats throughout the past
several centuries, have been the issue of death and the physical, spiritual, and emotional
attachments that can be defined as love. Even though writers of prose and poetry have long
belabored these two specific areas of discussion, the depth and diversity in approach is something
that can only be described with regards to the differential between personalities and the world you
of the author in question. Accordingly, the following analysis will be concentric upon discussing
and analyzing the approach and understanding of lovethat two specific poets exhibit within their
respective work. The first of these poets that will be analyzed is John... Show more content on

Instead, the author focuses a great deal of energy on examining the fact that even though the
time to act is now and an urgency, tension, and immediacy defines the love and passion that the
subject has for the Mistress, a deeper and more profound realization of what defines love and the
eternity of passion and interest that the subject could direct for this Mistress if only she opened
her heart and her body to the subject is reflected in a variety of different ways. For instance, after
the exhortation to stop dismissing the advances of the suitor, Marvell references the fact that in
so doing the woman would be able to experience love as she had never before seen it. Ultimately,
what is presented to the reader is an argument for the immediacy, passion, and necessity to
experience love in the moment. However, due to the fact that a woman would likely find the
emotion of immediacy and the need to seize the day as alarming and definitive of a passing craze
or crush, the poetry goes to great lengths to prove that the nature of the emotions that are being
defined are not short lived but will instead last for far longer than life itself is able to exist. By
means of contrast, John

The Man Inside The Tobacco Barn
In April of 1865, Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States, was assassinated
at Ford s Theater in Washington, DC. His assassin was John Wilkes Booth, who was a very
famous actor at the time. Less than two weeks after he committed the horrible deed, Booth was
cornered by the Sixteenth New York Cavalry in a tobacco barn in Virginia. John Wilkes Booth
refused to surrender, so the forces responded by setting the barn ablaze. Although the Cavalry
wanted to keep Booth alive, Sergeant Boston Corbett defied orders and shot Booth in the neck.
The gunshot proved to be fatal and Booth died a few hours later. The body of Booth was identified
by Dr. John Frederick May, who examined the body in Washington, DC. He may have

He then secretly saw a doctor, and continued fleeing from the authorities while being hidden in
the back of a wagon. Booth carried papers with him at all times that identified him as the assassin
of Lincoln, although they were very risky and could cause his demise. One day, during his escape
in the wagon, Booth was informed that the soldiers were approaching. As he fled the wagon, he
dropped his papers. When he was back in safety, John Wilkes Booth sent a messenger to go and
retrieve the lost papers. While the messenger was searching for the papers, another person informed
Booth that soldiers were once again approaching. Booth had to retreat from his hideout once more
and therefore could not wait for the messenger to return with his papers. While Booth was
somewhere else, the messenger himself was cornered and killed by the cavalry in the tobacco barn,
since the papers seemed to legitimately identify their holder as the infamous John Wilkes Booth.
Thus, his unfortunate messenger was the recipient of the fatal gunshot, not Booth himself.
John Wilkes Booth was able to escape to the southwest instead of being shot in the tobacco barn
shortly after he assassinated Abraham Lincoln. He was living under the pseudonym John St. Helen
while residing with his friend, Finis Bates, in Texas in 1877. While St. Helen was very ill, he
confessed to Bates that he himself killed Lincoln. When St. Helen recovered, Bates questioned him
about his

Ehrlichiosis Research Papers
Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis
Ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis are diseases caused by bacteria and carried by ticks. Other names
for these infections are:
Human monocytic ehrlichiosis (HME).
Human granulocytotropic anaplasmosis (HGA).
CAUSES
These diseases are caused by a bite from an infected adult tick.
RISK FACTORS
These diseases are more likely to occur between late spring and early fall. This is when ticks are
active.
SYMPTOMS
Many infected people have no symptoms. For those with symptoms, HME and HGA cause similar
illnesses. Symptoms typically begin one week or more after a tick bite and may include:
DIAGNOSIS
Diagnosis is based on a physical exam, medical history, and blood tests. Your health care provider
may suspect HME or HGA:
If you have recently been bitten by a tick.

Be aware that most ticks live in shrubs, low tree branches, and grassy areas. A tick can climb onto
your body when you make contact with leaves or grass where the tick is waiting. Take these steps
to avoid tick bites when you are outdoors:
Wear protective clothing. Long sleeves and long pants are best.
Wear white clothes so you can see ticks more easily.
Tuck your pant legs into your socks.
Put insect repellent on all exposed skin and on your clothes.
Use tick prevention products on your pets, such as shampoos or tick collars.
If you go walking on a trail, stay in the middle of the trail to avoid brushing against bushes.
Avoid walking through areas that have long grass.
Check clothing, hair, and skin repeatedly and before going inside.
Check family members and pets for ticks.
Brush off any ticks that are not attached.
Take a shower or a bath as soon as possible after you have been outdoors. Check your skin for
ticks. The most common places on the body where ticks attach themselves are the scalp, neck,
armpits, waist, and

Bank Robber And Capiche
I think the central message of this short story is to live life with purpose and originality. In this
story, I hated Anders from the second he started smart mouthing the bank teller. Then, I thought
he was just an arrogant idiot when he was mocking the bank robber. I felt that he deserved
getting shot and he basically asked for it. This dialogue especially gave me the inkling he was
eager to get shot; The bank robber and Anders exchanged words, You think you can fuck with me?
No. Fuck with me again, you re history. Capiche? Anders burst our laughing. He covered his mouth
with both hands and said, I m sorry, I m sorry, then snorted helplessly through his fingers and said,
Capiche oh, God, capiche, After watching the clip,

  • 2. Analysis Of Column 7L During the initial site walk, cracking was observed on the north corbel of column 7B, as labeled on the 2014 structural drawings for the site. During the renovations in 2014, steel columns were added in the vicinity of the B line of columns in this area of the structure. Given that these new columns may have been added to take additional stresses caused by the renovations and/or additions, observation of the deteriorated conditions of this corbel warranted additional investigation of other corbels in the area. This was not part of the original scope of work, but TKW has observed and reported on the condition of some of these corbels as a courtesy to the client. The first corbels inspected were at column 7B. Both the north and south ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this position, the northern corbel at column 5B appears to have similar conditions compared to column 6B. A significant portion of the corbel has fallen off and is lying on top of the CMU wall in that area (Figure 26). The bearing conditions look similar to column 6B, but exact measurements were not possible. The condition of the beam bearing on the corbel was not visible, but padding for bearing can be seen in the location. At column 4B, the northern corbel has cracked significantly at one corner of the corbel (Figure 27). The cracked portion is hanging from the corbel by a small section of concrete at the top of the corbel. Due to spatial constraints, measurements could not be made, but the section of concrete hanging from the corbel appears to be about ВЅin thick. Small pieces of concrete were found on the ground in this area, suggesting that the corbel is slowly deteriorating. Bearing pads appear to be in use on the southern corbel only, which shows no signs of deterioration. The northern corbel at column 3B is beginning to crack along one of its corners (Figure 28). Spatial constraints did not permit actual measurements, but the crack appears to be 0.012in 0.025in wide. Due to the presence of drywall in the area, it is difficult to gauge the depth of the crack as the attached drywall could be helping to holding the concrete in place. The southern corbel does not exhibit any signs of deterioration. Bearing pads appear to be utilized on both corbels. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The next point Wilson makes is, he disagrees and talks about problems with the institutional education. Another topic Wilson talks about is liberal and technical education, and the last main argument Wilson talks about is the different types of knowledge, and everyone has different methods of learning. For the future changing point, Wilson uses an example about life in the present and in the past, and how complex life and learning has gotten in modern society. Woodrow Wilson also, gave an example of a scholar with his door closed, and his window open. Wilson states The present need is that we should examine ourselves...to make a radical change, in the things we have attempted (3). Wilson also, talks about how modern people don t know what to teach their pupils because they don t know what they are going to be when they are older. In the disagreement and problems with institutional education, Wilson uses ad hominem. • 8. Analytical Essay On The Movie Selma The United States of America, a country viewed by many as glorious and opportunistic, endured moments in history that shall never be forgotten. Since the beginning of the Civil War in the 1800s, the act to end slavery was gruesome and horrifying. A war was fought between the free and slave states to eradicate slavery in the country for ever. In the year 1865, slavery was abolished, nonetheless, the evil in many Confederate cities and states was still alive. Selma is a breath taking movie about Martin Luther King Jr. and his fight against this evil. With death threats sent to his home, and his own followers beaten by troopers, Dr. King never backed down. Having the right to vote is exceedingly vital in having a voice in the government, and the kinds of laws and bills that should be passed. In the beginning of this movie, an African Americanwoman prepares her documents to be allowed to vote. When she hands the documents to the white worker, he begins questioning the woman. His main incentive is simply not give her the right to vote. The movie states that fifty percent of Selma is African American, however, merely two percent are allowed to vote. It is the power held by white officials that denied their vote. Many people took to the streets to peacefully protests this injustice and inequality that loomed in the system. As stated both in the movie and the New York Review article, people have suffered and died for the right to vote. For instance, a young man named Jimmie ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, according to De Botton and Nietzsche fulfillment is an illusion . Hardships are the reason to our happiness. We should focus on avoiding pain not seeking pleasure . In other words, happiness comes from the absence of happiness. You cannot be constantly happy and not everyone understands happiness the same way. Because happiness itself cannot be defined as an undeniable truth. It varies. However, there is some truths in it. Not long ago, my good friend Kant and I were discussing this matter and he said to me something that I consider true. He said that Happiness and Virtue are two distinct things. Happiness is not proportional to well doing Only Virtue is good without any implications, no matter what it achieves. Gifts of nature such as intelligence, qualities of temperament like courage or perseverance, are often good but may be used for evil ends unless directed by a good will. Gifts of fortune which include riches and health can also be used for good or ill. Even moderation and self control are not good in themselves but require a good will . In other words, Happiness is not the Supreme Good. We thrive to live life with Virtue. Happiness comes and goes. There are some aspects in architecture that do bring happiness. But they do not last forever and that should be something to embrace instead of being avoided. • 13. Foucault, Femininity And The Modernization Of Patriarchal... In Foucault, Femininity, and the Modernization of Patriarchal Power, Sandra Bartky utilizes Michel Foucault s concepts about power to help explain femininity. Throughout the article, she details how society forces women to fit within the confines of this construct and how it affects them. Sandra Bartky begins her piece by explaining Michel Foucault s ideas about modern power dynamics. Unlike in the past, power in modern society focuses not only on controlling the products of the body but, rather, on governing all its activities. In order for this power to continue, people are disciplined into becoming docile bodies which are subjected and practiced (Bartky, 63). This discipline is imposed through constant surveillance in a manner similar to the Panopticon. Inmates in said prison are always visible to a guard in the central tower, so they mentally coerced into monitoring their own behavior. In the same way, individuals become their own jailers and subject themselves to the society s whim due to being in a state of conscious and permanent visibility to its all seeing eye (65). Bartky, however, breaks from Foucault s theory by claiming that there is a clear difference in the disciplines imposed on men and women that are ignored in the latter s writings. Bartky posits that neither women nor men are born feminine or masculine; they are disciplined into those molds. She delineates three categories of disciplinary practices that produce feminine women. The first she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. State Centricity Is Vital On The Understanding Of Neo... State centricity is vital in the understanding of neo realist thought. Neo realism is based on three key features, Survival, Self help and Statism where the outcomes of policies must benefit the state first and foremost. In this way, the decision making processes are made by the state rather than international actors. Consequently, the state centric approach deals predominately with the state being of utmost importance in relation to other global matters. However this approach fails to appropriately deal with the global problem that is climate change. Thus climate challenges this notion of state centricity within the realist discourse. Combatting climate change requires international commitment and participation. However in the modern day, nature has become a commodity. Natural resources are something that you can use, buy and sell within the global economy rather than their scarcity being a focus of concern. The competition between individual states for these resources (such as water and minerals) further enforces the survivalist nature of neo realism and the state centric system. In this sense, the current approach to climate change conforms to the realist notion of state centricity but if anything is to be done about it, climate change must challenge the status quo as it is a global problem. This is mainly a consequence of the Treaty of Westphalia (1648) which saw states regarded as the major actors within the international system. Moreover, this saw the emergence of ... • 20. Foundationalism In William Shakespear s Much Ado About... The word Foundationalism was given a clear definition by Descartes, meaning someone looking for a clear and certain foundation. There is a way to accomplish this task, meaning order to find or build a foundation or a base that is certain, one must first destroy everything one believes to know start from the very beginning. The goal is to find things that are absolute indubitable , meaning it is 100 percent certain or it can not under any circumstances be doubted (Descartes 13). The play Much ado about nothingwritten by William Shakespear would not be the first thing that comes to mind when considering anything being indubitable. It is entails clear social and gender issues of its time. With this essay, I wish to point out how the men boast themselves in so much honor and masculinity, that they are easily blinded by a simple lie. So simple in fact, that it took an entire plot built on Hero s death to reveal the truth. If a woman s mind, body and soul were more valuable, there would have been no need to lie and deceive once more to prove Hero s innocence. This is important, because women are still judged more harshly for being involved with a man before marriage, or having multiple partners. While men can marry after being known to be very far from celibacy themselves, but wish to have a virgin or a woman with fewer and closer to zero sexual partners. This misogynistic double standard was carried into the movie by Kenneth Branagh. In this case, first I would like to look ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although this is market that has the least amount of income, it is the market we won t to help out the most. Our goal is to help the parents struggling financially to receive this program, because there children are receiving food that is not the best for them. Many of these kids lack physical activity because of lack of funding. The second target market that will be focused on is children who are obese and in need of a serious lifestyle change. This market can be children whose family makes any amount of money; we just want our youth to be healthy. If we can grab this market it would be good for us and for the youth because many kids suffering from obesity get picked on in school and this program could help make their body change in a good way.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is important because studies have shown that kids who live in single parent homes are less likely to be active then kids who live with both parents. This makes sense because single parents have a lot of things to do during the day and probably cannot get their child/ren to and from certain places, creating a barrier for the youth to participate in various activities. Our last target market will be catered to families who have a high participation rate in youth activities. Our logic behind this is if these kids are already participating in activities it will be easier to get them to participate in something as positive as Kid Fit. His wife was sentenced a year in jail. He was a bank robber, gangster, smuggler, and killer. He killed more FBI agents in the line of duty than anyone else. His childhood had everything to do with how and why Lester Gillis became George Nelson. When he was a young teenager, he was in a gang in Chicago. A disability can be defined as a limitation of function because of an impairment (Lane, 2008, p. 277). To some, deaf people [seem] limited in some functions because of an impairment of hearing (Lane, 2008, p. 277). However, this determination of disability has arisen from norms and the technologies of normalization (Lane, 2008, p. 279) by the hearing and otherwise able bodied world. To the hearing world, Deaf people lack the ability to hear; a sense which so many of us hearing people depend on. In actuality, the only reason Deaf people seem to suffer is because we, the hearing majority, have placed our own beliefs and values on them. By labeling Deaf people as disabled, we are guilty of audism and ableism, as we [insist] that inherent biological factors determine individual traits and capacity (Lane, 2008, p. 282), and assume their life is lacking because they either cannot hear or cannot hear as well as we think they should. • 41. The Food Contamination By Bisphenol A Is Unknown, But The... The overall food contamination by Bisphenol A is unknown, but the nutrition/ health impact of this chemical is an important subject to be discussed for all individuals. The main aim of one study recently analyzed was to assess the reproductive impact of BPA leached from regularly available polycarbonate plastic containers. The bottles specifically chosen for testing were those that were used by children. The migration of BPA occurs in polycarbonateplastics (i.e. water bottles and baby bottles). Toxicology reports show society the importance of evaluating these products before purchase and consumption as a consumer. For a particular experiment, researchers used Daphnia Magna, a small flea that cleans and absorbs particles that infect the solution they are placed in, and bred them in the polycarbonate containers. A control group was created using water bottles without the infection of these creatures. A GC MS machine to detect the level of BPA released by each polycarbonate plastic then evaluated the water. An increase in the reproduction of BPA was detected when the Daphnia Magna were bred inside the container. Although these organisms effected the leaching of Bisphenol A, the GC MS was able to detect, through the control group, that BPA is released without DM. An Eco toxicological effect was observed through all of this testing, and provided evidence to substantiate the fact that Bisphenol A is leached from polycarbonate plastics. The BPA was further analyzed in the Daphnia ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. The Integration Of Officially Integrating Borrowings Into... The integration of loanwords With the purpose of officially integrating borrowings into the host language and for speakers to casually use them in their conversations, all borrowings and creations undergo linguistic changes based on the features of the recipient language. The following words will analyse the phonological and morphosyntactic strategies used in French language contact situations. Phonetical change Every language has its own phonological system and therefore reproducing foreign sounds is usually a great linguistic difficulty. The most common strategy to deal with the acoustic reproduction of loanwords is to treat them as native words, thus, speakers approximately re interpret the sounds in loanwords following the familiar phonological framework of the hosting language. Phonological changes can be minimal or perhaps greatly, to the extent that speakers of the donor language may struggle to identify the loanword as a word of their own . The result of the adaptation of loanwords creates a certain uncertainty in the speakers. However, this instability and incertitude contribute to maintain the foreign feature alive in foreign words, in comparison to the fixed pronunciation of autochthonous words. In situations where French is the recipient language, loanwords are phonologically restructured to fit the French syllabary system. Considered being one of the most purist languages French speakers have a strong loyalty towards their native language. It is for this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This investigation will explore the question: How did Dr. Daniel Francois Malan negatively contribute to Apartheid in South Africa beginning in 1948? The focus of this investigation, is the making of the National Party and Malan s role as a white supremacist in South Africa. The first source which will be evaluated is Robert Schrire s book Malan to De Klerk , published in 1994 in New York, by St. Martin s Press. The origin of this source is valuable because Schrire received a Bachelor degree in economics from UCT, followed by his Masters from the School of International Service in Washington DC, and his PHD from the University of California. Although the situation at first seemed easily comprehensive, but after further investigation, the actual situation was far more complex. This shows how it is important for historians to search thoroughly through documents to understand historical events. Unlike a mathematician or a scientist, being a historian does not instill absolute truth or total understanding regarding an event. With historical events, there are different interpretations and different viewpoints to be taken into consideration when drawing conclusions. Sources have values and limitations, which are heavily analyzed before the source itself is used. Likewise, historians have to find sources, which ideally line up with the truth. When assessing limitations, if found that my sources seemed to agree with pointing to Malan for having a large impact and have credible authors which made the limitations hard to find. I regarded Schrire s novel Malan to De Klerk highly valuable, because it gave insight into the start of apartheid specifically under Malan s rule who I investigated. Secondly, I considered the letter sent from Sisulu to Malan valuable because it showed how the people were oppressed. This also demonstrated contrasting views to Malan, and a firsthand account of an individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the most analyzed aspects of emotion and the life, by literary greats throughout the past several centuries, have been the issue of death and the physical, spiritual, and emotional attachments that can be defined as love. Even though writers of prose and poetry have long belabored these two specific areas of discussion, the depth and diversity in approach is something that can only be described with regards to the differential between personalities and the world you of the author in question. Accordingly, the following analysis will be concentric upon discussing and analyzing the approach and understanding of lovethat two specific poets exhibit within their respective work. Instead, the author focuses a great deal of energy on examining the fact that even though the time to act is now and an urgency, tension, and immediacy defines the love and passion that the subject has for the Mistress, a deeper and more profound realization of what defines love and the eternity of passion and interest that the subject could direct for this Mistress if only she opened her heart and her body to the subject is reflected in a variety of different ways. For instance, after the exhortation to stop dismissing the advances of the suitor, Marvell references the fact that in so doing the woman would be able to experience love as she had never before seen it. Ultimately, what is presented to the reader is an argument for the immediacy, passion, and necessity to experience love in the moment. However, due to the fact that a woman would likely find the emotion of immediacy and the need to seize the day as alarming and definitive of a passing craze or crush, the poetry goes to great lengths to prove that the nature of the emotions that are being defined are not short lived but will instead last for far longer than life itself is able to exist. Booth carried papers with him at all times that identified him as the assassin of Lincoln, although they were very risky and could cause his demise. One day, during his escape in the wagon, Booth was informed that the soldiers were approaching. As he fled the wagon, he dropped his papers. When he was back in safety, John Wilkes Booth sent a messenger to go and retrieve the lost papers. While the messenger was searching for the papers, another person informed Booth that soldiers were once again approaching. Booth had to retreat from his hideout once more and therefore could not wait for the messenger to return with his papers. While Booth was somewhere else, the messenger himself was cornered and killed by the cavalry in the tobacco barn, since the papers seemed to legitimately identify their holder as the infamous John Wilkes Booth.
