this by by expressing how gender oppression complicates racial oppression. Black female
characters not only had to face slavery and racism but also sexism and abuse, mentally,

black males in the novel are portrayed as cruel, as they live in a world where white men rule and
feel like less of a man and because of this they take out their anger and frustration on the black
females. Walker starts her novel with Celie s letter describing the brutal rape by her father.

A Kingdom Forgotten is a rather curious beast. The story breaks with the concept of linear time,
allowing the protagonists to interact with various points of history and manipulate key events
in order to fulfill a grand master plan . While there are many different narratives in this book, A
Kingdom Forgotten mostly focused on the story of Damon and Radin. The former is potentially
the most powerful wizard (or lamean as McDonald calls them) in the universe while the later
stumbles across a bit of prophecy which takes his life in a new and very unexpected direction.
Ultimately the story is about the end times of the universe and the battle between good and evil.
Both sides of this coin are represented by a variety of different forces, though it remains
unknown which side McDonald intends for Damon to be on, and all have their own hand
schemes that they are trying to bring to fruition. Some seem to want to destroy all of creation

Point to point links
A so called point to point link (Fig. 2.0) provides a pre established WAN communication path
from the user s location trough a telephone company s network, also known as the carrier. For this
kind of line, the carrier dedicates pairs of wire and hardware to that line only. This kind of circuits
are priced depending on bandwidth needed and distance to be covered.

Circuit Switching
Work like a normal telephone line. Data connections can be started when needed and terminated
when the communication is over. An example of circuit switching is called Integrated Services
Digital Network (ISDN). When a router receives data that s intended to go to a specific remote site,
the switched circuit (Fig. 2.1) is initiated with a specific circuit number for that particular network.
As soon the two networks that are trying to connect get the authentication done, it is possible to
transfer data. When data transmission is over, the communication gets terminated.

compared for example to point to point lines. The carrier can make more efficient use of its

attack Hugh White, who got surrounded by the mob and then came Captain Thomas Preston to

Behavior Change Project Examples
I chose to do my behavior change project on improving my diet. I put my own little twist on it
with the way I measured my success and I had to supplement it to reach my goals, but I feel that it
was done really well. My goal was at the end of the four weeks to be able to run 3.1 miles in 18:45.
I have run times close to this before, but that was a couple of years ago. At the beginning of this
project my time for 3.1 miles was 20:36. I knew that if I was committed and worked really hard that
I would be able to do it though. I chose to measure my behavior change this way due to the fact that
I have a very busy life and I am on the high school cross country team. I figured I would already be
running each week and I have a raceevery week that I can measure my time against my goal. So I

The problem that I referred to when talking about my difficulties in week one, was the surprise
trip. My dad decided this year that he wanted to go the annual air race championships in Reno,
Nevada. I was not expecting this to fall in the middle of behavior change project. This trip made
it really easy to get the three miles in and hard to get the healthy meals in. Since we were trying
to avoid spending too much money we were just eating at small diners and fair type food that
were close by. I tried to mitigate the damage by ordering the healthiest alternative that I could find,
but that did not always work. The other unforeseen difficulty was the addition of a new vending
machine at my school. It is right in the main hallway and full of only unhealthy options. I dealt
