Discipline
Discipline
Discipline is the process of teaching the child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is not
acceptable, it teaches a child to follow rules. Discipline may involve both punishment, such as a time
out, and, more importantly, rewards. It sounds so straightforward, yet every parent becomes frustrated
at one time or another with issues surrounding children and discipline.
Every parent wants their children to be happy, respectful, respected by others, and able to find their
place in the world as well behaved adults. Nobody wants to be accused of raising a spoiled brat. Our
responsibility as a parent is to help our child become self reliant, respectful, and self controlled.

But our goal should not be to turn him into someone he is not.
As my children grew and began to understand the connection between actions and consequences, I
started communicating the rules of our family s home, explained what I expect of them.
Even when disciplining my children I show respect they are more likely to respect me, other family
members, and other people in their life. If I lose it or overreact with disrespect, I apologize. Actually I
behave the way I want them to behave.
For instance, the first time my 3 year old son used pencil to decorate the bedroom wall, I discussed
why that s not allowed and what will happen if he will do it again he will have to help clean the wall
and will not be able to use the pencils for the rest of the day. I explained also that pencils are for paper
only and not for wall.
In other words I establish this kind of I set the rules and you re expected to listen or accept the
consequences standard. Consistency is the key to effective discipline, and it s important to decide what
the rules are and then uphold them. Timeouts also can work well for kids at this age, however I didn t
give them timeouts.
I always reward good behaviors. I know how positive effect my praise can have discipline is not just
about punishment but also about recognizing good behavior.

How Did Margaret Bourke-White Affect Women In The Early...
Margaret Bourke White; The Eyes of the 1900s Fittingly for the heroic, larger than life Margaret
Bourke White the eyes were the last to go. Sean Callahan Throughout her life, Margaret Bourke White
traveled around the world taking photographs and expanding the idea of photojournalism. She became
the first female war correspondent along with a famous documenter of Gandhi s non violent protest.
Her move to Cleveland, Ohio, her photographic representation of WWII and the Korean Conflict, and
her diagnosis of Parkinson s disease all helped to develop the theme that Margaret Bourke White
broke gender barriers for women in the early 1900s, and led the world on a trail blazing journey that
would inspire generations. In 1927, after shedding a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and Germany. On her trip to the South, the famed author Erskine Caldwell joined Margaret Bourke
White. Their association resulted in the book, You Have Seen Their Faces , and, as Phillips, the
curator of The Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., says, The haggard images staring back at the
camera confirmed her increasing understanding of the human condition, she became skilled at
capturing the human experience. By this Phillips means that this experience with Caldwell showed
Margaret Bourke White a new perspective of the human relationship, taught her to capture an intricate
web of emotion in just one photograph, and influenced her later works. Not long after this, the Second
World War began, giving Bourke White a rare opportunity to showcase both her bravery and her skill.
As the first woman credited as a war correspondent, she crossed into Germany with an Air Force crew
on a bombing raid. Throughout the rest of the war, Bourke White continued traveling with the armed
forces through North Africa and Italy, and to the staff of Life magazine she became known as Maggie

The Dark Side Of Chocolate
The Dark Side of Chocolate is a documentary that explores the underlying issues prevalent in the
cocoa trade. For most first world countries chocolate is seen as an accessible treat, however in third
world countries, the production of cocoa creates social issues that must be eliminated. Cocoa trade is
one of the largest industries in West African countries, but the issues that arise from such trade do
more harm than good. The cocoa plantations are trafficking humans to work on their plantations.
Furthermore, most instances suggest that these workers do not receive any compensation for their
work and most importantly some of these slave laborers are children. Thus, the three issues that the
cocoa companies routinely commit in exchange for lower costs are human trafficking, slave labor, and
child labor. These companies are aware of such issues but refuse to actively combat them because they
are better off financially. It can be argued that these issues can be mitigated through various social,
governmental and political policies aimed at combating these problems. The three main issues will be
addressed and the various stakeholders affected by these issues will be analyzed. Then this paper will
look at the possible solutions to these issues, whereby through government, social or political means.
Human trafficking is the first of the issues prevalent in the cocoa trade. Human trafficking occurs
when the cocoa plantations contract workers from neighboring countries to smuggle

Women in Iran Essay
Women s rights in the Middle East have always been a controversial issue. Although the rights of
women have changed over the years, they have never really been equal to the rights of a man. This
poses a threat on Iran because women have very limited options when it comes to labor, marriage and
other aspects of their culture. I believe that equal treatment for women and men is a fundamental
principal of international human rights standards. Yet, in some places like Iran, discriminatory
practices against women are not only prevalent, but in some cases, required by law. In this essay I will
explain to you the every day life of an every day Islamic woman living in Iran. You will be astonished
by what these women have endured through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only are women not allowed to choose how they dress, they also aren t allowed to choose where
they would like to work or go to school. They can t work with men because they are segregated from
men in every aspect of public life. They also are barred from taking employment in a large number of
occupations simply because these jobs would compromise their chastity. A married woman is only
allowed to be employed if she has the consent of her husband. Women are forbidden to choose their
own academic or vocational field of study and there are 169 fields of study that are strictly for men
only. A recent law that was just made in 1990 forbids women to drive, which made it impossible for
them to transport themselves independently.
Iranian women have to depend quite frequently on men to survive. Women aren t even allowed to
travel unless they have permission of their husbands or fathers. Marriage also is a crucial element to
an Iranian woman s life. The legal age of marriage is nine years old and most women are not allowed
their husband of choice. Women are also not allowed equal rights to divorce. It is only under extreme
conditions, such as insanity of their spouse, that they are allowed to file for divorce. Even in the event
of the divorce, the father has legal custody of boys after the age of two and girls after the age of seven.
It is also crucial to have a husband because if women are involved in any other voluntary sexual

Avoid Limiting Answers
I should avoid to put two ideas in one question, each idea should have its own question. I have to
select my population in a manner that I ask the relevant people in order to avoid population definition
error and sampling frame error. I should not target SIU students when I wanted to select business
owners in the City of Carbondale. This will help me not survey the wrong people. Furthermore, I
should avoid leading questions and asking wrong questions. I have to ask relevant questions that will
provide me with relevant answers to my questionnaire. I have to avoid using broad terms when
developing questions because respondents might misinterpret the questions. I should avoid limiting
answer options. Providing more answer options gives respondents a pool from which they can select
their preferred answers unlike when I channel them to only two options. The problem I had was that
some questions needed follow up questions while others needed preceding questions.
The questions were developed based on both the independent and dependent variables. I knew that the

Sex After Menopause And Its Effects On Young Adults And Men
The ten commercial I viewed ranged in advertisements. They targeted older people, young adults and
men. Several of the consumers geared their products for anti aging products. There were several that
were geared toward anti aging; these commercials where Osphena, Ensure, K Y ultra gel, Viagra for
women, and proactive. There were two that were geared toward men; Viagra, and old spice hair
product for men. Tommiecopper was another commercial. It was geared to those who are physically
active and may need a knee support due to pain. Lastly, there were two commercials that geared to
men and women who are older. These commercial were on funeral advertising and mortgage reversals.
Ospemifene is an oral medication indicated for the treatment of dyspareunia. This is encountered by
some women, more often in those who are post menopausal. It is supposed to help with sex after
menopause. Ensure was expressing the many ways it can help with Nutrition, Lifestyle change, and
Fitness. It promotes positive, healthy choices in older women so that it can help you improve your
health and maybe even discover your best self. KY ultra gel is for dryness for women. Vaginal dryness
occurs most often during perimenopause and menopause. Your body produces reduced amounts of
estrogen during menopause, which accounts for the majority of vaginal dryness encountered by
women. Viagra for women is for post menopausal or post hysterectomy women who complain of

George Orwell Courage
In Shooting an Elephant , Orwell, being a police officer, is going through some tough times. The
reason being was because many of the people in the area, in which he resided, hated Europeans. In the
story, Orwell is told that an elephant has gone on a rampage and is asked to deal with the situation.
The elephant s rampage had come to an end and it was peacefully eating grass He took not the
slightest notice of the crowd s approach. He was tearing up bunches of grass, beating them against his
knees to clean them and stuffing them into his mouth (George Orwell, 142). He wanted to leave the

Fahrenheit 451 Technology Analysis
Technology has deprived the citizens in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451 and The Pedestrian their
freedom to think with depth and the meaningful, social interactions that make up the quality of life.
In the society of Fahrenheit 451, the ability to think logically is one of the things people have lost due
to extensive use of technology. Parlor walls, futuristic televisions the size of house walls, are what
people use as entertainment. The government provides programs that do not provoke quality thinking.
Montag witnesses this when Mildred uses the parlor walls in the morning: No matter when he came

Camera Angles In Edward Scissorhands
Camera techniques is a very general aspect of cinema that covers all movements, lens , angles, and
shot types a camera can ascribe to. For example, the camera angle can establish the mood and tone of
a sequence, with the application of high camera angles depicting characters as exposed. Furthermore,
camera movement comprises of zooming, panning, tilting, and tracking as a way of producing
emotion and compelling viewers. Camera lens spans from telephoto to wide angle and gives to the
tone and appearance of the movie. Finally, shot types can include long shot, extra long shot, close up,
extra close up, and point of view, and form circumstance of the characters in their settings amid that
moment in the plot. In Edward Scissorhands, director Tim Burton relies upon a bevy of different
camera angles to capture Edward as an assailable protagonist, alone and existing as separate from
community.
Tim Burton uses creative and sometimes cramped camera angles to convey the primary concepts of
aloneness and self discovery, in addition to augmenting the veiled themes of societal homogeneity and
discrimination, to the audience. This perception is suggested all through the movie through the
director s use of high angle panoramic shots of the unvarying suburbia and long shots of ... Show more

The Death Of Two ( The Great Gatsby )
The death of two (The Great Gatsby)
The auburn hued leaves crunched with every miserable footstep. They scattered the ground in a
haphazard manner, not dissimilar to the state of the thoughts swirling through the mind of the lone
man, disconsolate and determined to regain a semblance of balance in his life. He strode purposefully
towards his vengeful destination. With his worn out greased overalls and his intrinsic grey flat cap, he
passed through the elaborate, elite fields of West Egg, also known as the land of new money ,
embarking towards this mansion.
Located at the very end of West Egg, bordering the sound, rested the extravagant white mansion.
Stealthily, he moved towards his target, Jay Gatsby. For all George Wilson was concerned, he had
been contemplating whether or not this man was responsible for the tragic death of his beloved wife,
Myrtle. He walked further: to within the rear of the luxurious pearl white mansion. An old piano, sat
as to enamel Gatsby s supposedly elite position. Gatsby s abode was embellished with unique russet
velvety walls and glazed coffee wooden floorboards. After Wilson s entrance, via an unlocked rear
door, he imagined himself taking a drink with his girl in such a fine room, but that possibility did not
exist. This man named Gatsby had ruined it all for him.
George was a simple kind of guy. He always dreamed of living in West Egg with his wife; he wanted
the best for Myrtle. Wilson removed a crystal clear glass from a coffee table

In sport there can be certain reasons as to why people are unable to in sport, cultural, social, historical,
economic or educational. These barriers are referred to as barriers to participation.
Culture barriers are linked to different nationalities, beliefs and religions. There may be rules and
views on who should participate in sport. Some religions do not allow women to participate in sport
altogether, others allow participation if they wear clothes that cover the whole body. In the UK is
limited knowledge of sport from certain cultures. Schools often try to accommodate different cultural

Target groups include women, young people, over 50 s, disabled people and black or ethnic minority
groups. These groups of people are the groups that generally have been the most barriers to
participation. They are focused on increasing opportunities in sport as they are likely to benefit the
most.
Women have always had less involvement in sport than men. There may be reasons as to why women
have less involvement. They may stop playing sport to focus on other thing like having children or a
family. Women with family may also find it difficult due to a lack of money and time. These barriers
can occur at any level of sports continuum from someone who may just want to exercise to keep fit
(participation stage) but feels they can t as the only classes available to them are mixed sex classes
which they are not comfortable with. Other example, of the barriers to women may be that at the
performance or excellence stage lack sponsorship, media coverage and government funding in women
s sport. This in turn means that women are unable to continue sport as a career and are limited to the
level they are able to achieve as they can t live by only playing sports and must get a job. There has
been a large improvement in the amount of women involved in sport since scheme and government
funded activities have been put in place to increase numbers of women s only classes, competitive
clubs and female teams in traditional male sport such as rugby, football and

Abuse Of Power And Corruption In Chinatown By Robert Towne
Powerful men often feel invincible. Harvey Weinstein is one among these men who feel invincible and
use their position to harm others. He manipulated women and took advantage of his position as a
producer in Hollywood with disregard for any consequences. Harvey Weinstein has been the center of
rape allegations that have made the world shed light on the sexual harassment in Hollywood. As more
and more victims come forth after decades of coercion, Weinstein s inappropriate behavior is finally
being examined. In fact, this type of perversion and exploitation of title is too familiar. Chinatown by
Robert Towne emphasizes the results of power in the world as it leads to corruption and a lethal world
created by it. The tragic film reminds us that unfortunately corruption does prevail but the truth may
offer some solace and be a step towards an end. In order to analyze corruption s existence, it must be
defined. In this sense, corruption is an abuse of power. Abuse can occur in any dynamic of
relationship. Furthermore, when a person with power has any type of relationship, there is always a
possibility that corruption is involved. For example, we most often associate the word with politicians,
who have power over ordinary citizens. However, we could also think of power relationships as
family dynamics, work dynamics or any person of power over another. In Weinstein s case, Weinstein
took advantage of the superiority he held as a film producer over actresses and potential

Compare And Contrast The Odyssey And The Hobbit
Compare and Contrast As I read through Homer s The Odyssey, and J.R.R Tolkien s The Hobbit, I
immediately noticed several similarities between the two. Of course not only were their things that
they both shared in common, but also things that set them apart from each other. I mean what kind of
authors would they be if they wrote the same exact story. I hope that by reading this essay you gain a
better understanding of both books as well as what they have in common and what is different
between them. By the end you should be able to identify the similarities and differences between both
of their journeys as well as between most of the characters in this book. I d first like to establish the
theme between both of these amazing stories. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Hobbit the battle comes at the end of the book and in the Odyssey it is the battle of Troy that
occurs in the beginning of the story that starts our adventure. I think the major theme is that through
perseverance and hard work you can achieve great strides in completing your goal, and that it is only
by relying on others as well as yourself that those goal(s) can be achieved. During these events we can
understand some major plot similarities. Some shared plot points that I discovered while reading. For
instance both adventures are started by another source. In the Odyssey Goddess Athena descends from
the heavens after convincing her father, the Son of Cronus, Zeus to allow Odysseus to return home.
Once she arrives in Ithaca, she sets Telemachus on his adventure to learn more information about his
father whereabouts. This is like Gandalf the Gray arriving in the Shire to set Bilbo on his mission with
Thorin to reclaim the mountain from Smaug. Another major part would be the obstacles that stand in
their way. Mostly in the form of Monsters and other beings. The Odyssey features some creatures
famous in greek mythology such as the Cyclops, Polyphemus, the beasts Scylla and Charybdis, the
Sirens, and the God Helios and Goddesses Circe and Calypso. The Hobbit features classic fantasy
monsters like Giant Spiders, Goblins, Worgs, an Elvish King, and of course a fire breathing Smaug.
Both characters gain gifts that

Most of the time in that job was spent teaching the kids. After working in that atmosphere for a while,
she decided to move on and work with Heartland Family Service. Ciara was the lead therapist on the
mental health crisis team for Heartland Family Service. She worked with the police who were called
to check on the well being of a person or who arrived in a situation where someone needed mental
help. Her job required her to help decide if each person needed hospitalized or if they would be okay
on their own, and to make a plan with them. Field therapy work became draining, so Ciara moved on

The Use Of Bpa And Its Effects On The World
Polycarbonate plastic is everywhere. Manufacturers make about 2.7 million tons of plastic containing
BPA each year. It s used in screwdriver handles, eyeglass lenses, DVDs, CDs, and food containers.
Although versatile and durable, polycarbonate contains a controversial chemical called bisphenol A,
or BPA. Some studies have linked BPA exposure to a variety of health problems. Bisphenol has many
forms, but its most common is Bisphenol A, also known as BPA. In this paper, I will address the
history of BPA, the ecological effect of using it in polycarbonates, and an interesting solution to the
issue at hand. This innovation totally changed the game when it was first introduced. But, the chemist
responsible for integrating BPA into plastics had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polycarbonates started out in fuse boxes, plug connections and glazes for public buildings.
Polycarbonates soon became popular for many other uses, such as plastic bottles and linings for metal
based food and beverage cans. The use of polycarbonates for food packaging easily received approval
in the 1960s by the FDA under its food additive regulations.
During the early 1990s, Dr. Feldman became the first researcher to identify the possible impact of low
levels of BPA. Feldman and his team discovered an estrogenic molecule while growing yeast in plastic
flasks in 1992. They discovered the yeast wasn t synthesizing the estrogen, but rather it was leaching
from the plastic. The team then performed a control experiment without the yeast in the flask, and they
found there was still an estrogenic molecule present, which they later identified as BPA. Once they
made the connection between polycarbonate, BPA and estrogenic activity, Feldman and his team
contacted a major producer of polycarbonates. It turns out, the company had already looked into the
leeching issue, but after using their own methods, they said they couldn t find any estrogenic activity.
Other studies soon popped up, including the University of Missouri Columbia that found low level
exposure to BPA may harm the prostate. Over the next decade, reports on low dose BPA toxicity will
grow to include more than 100

The Acts Of The Christian Movement Essay
The story of the Acts details the growth of the Christian movement from a small group of dedicated
followers into a multi ethnic, international movement. As quoted by The Bible Project, [Acts] is a
story about Jesus leading his people by the spirit to go out into the world and invite all nations to live
under his reign (Mackie Acts Ch. 1 12. ). Traditionally this book has been called the Acts of the
Apostles because it describes the apostles deeds in spreading Jesus message. As Paul and Peter
journey through the ancient world they bring with them the word of God. Sinners, gentiles, and
persecutors alike are invited to join the movement and seek salvation. In Acts, Luke details the growth
of the Christian movement and attributes that growth to the power of Jesus and his message of
welcome which invites an ethnically and geographically diverse followership.
The story begins in Jerusalem where the risen Jesus Christ describes God s kingdom to his disciples
and instructs them to carry the message of His kingdom to the ends of the earth. The disciples begin
during the Festival of the Pentacost at which Jewish pilgrims from all over the ancient world have
gathered. Thousands of these pilgrims receive God s message and accept his calling to create
communities of generosity and worship. Before the disciples leave Jerusalem, they are preaching to a
mostly Jewish crowd. As such, their persuasive methods are generally geared to the Jewish tradition.
First, the disciples claim

Machine guns
Hiram Maxim created Machine Gun and in 1883, he created the first multi bullet firing weapon. This
lead to wider development of automatic weapons which were later used in war. (Note: the 1862
Gatling gun which was ran by hand cranking.)
The machinegun was first used at the very start of WWI, The Germans having a design already in
mass production by 1914. Seeing as there were already machine guns made the first battle would
likely be the battle of Marne. The machine gun changed the face of war, as it was known, adding in
the ability to cover areas in blankets of bullets in both defense and offensive stances. There are many
types of modern machine guns. These guns are used in mostly every military operation in modern
time. Tanks
The British adopted the first tank prototype as a design in 1916. The tank was first used in the battle of
Flers Courcelette. The tank changed war wildly just as the machine gun did, the introduction of the
tank meant that war had to adapt to the rolling bunkers. This adaption caused warfare to take new face
in ways to counter the invention. Tanks are a major part of warfare today, with huge advances being
made constantly to the vehicle platform and more and more warfare being seen by the vehicles as time

Introduction:
An Enzyme is a protein, which is capable of starting a chemical reaction, which involves the
formation or breakage of chemical bonds. A substrate is the surface or material on or from which an
organism lives, grows, or obtains its nourishment. In this case it is hydrogen peroxide. This lab report
will be explaining the experiment held to understand the effects of the changes in the amount of
substrate on the enzyme s reaction.
Research question:
What does the changes in the amount of substrate on an enzyme s reaction effect on?

Make sure you rinse your glassware carefully between procedures. Repeat this procedure five times. 5.
Use this data to calculate the rate of reaction of this enzyme 6. Plan and conduct your own
investigation into one other factor that affects the activity of catalase, you may use this as the basis for
your investigation but if it is to be for moderation of internal assessment you must modify it
substantially.
Results: Different type of hydrogen peroxide | Volume of foam cm³ | 0.5% | 5 cm³ | 1% | 7 cm³ | 2% |
13 cm³ | 4% | 21 cm³ | 6% | 24 cm³ |
The volume of the foam using different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide:
Conclusion:
As I forecasted the results proved correct that, the more concentrated the hydrogen peroxide is the
higher the volume of the foam is and the less concentrated the hydrogen peroxide is the lower the
volume of the foam will become. Other than the table of results the graph is also evidence to my true
hypothesis. Each time the concentration of hydrogen peroxide doubles the level of foam increases but
the more the concentration the foam reaches its constant point therefore slowly increasing. An
example is when the 2% concentration of hydrogen peroxide was added the foam level was 13cm³ but
when 4% was added to the next trial the level of foam greatly increased to 21 cm³ and as it reached its
constant point, when 6% it slowed down and increased only 3 cm³ more which became 24 cm³.

The Production of Ammonia and Its Building Blocks
Also known as azane, ammonia is a chemical compound with one nitrogen and three hydrogen atoms
that are tightly bonded together; giving it the formula NH3. At room temperature, ammonia exists in a
gaseous state with a colourless form and a pungent smell. It boils at 33.34°C and ammonia used for
household uses is usually a mixture of ammonia and water. Ammonia provides the right conditions
and nutrition that are needed for the growth of terrestrial organisms. Even in commercial products
such as pharmaceuticals, ammonia is directly or indirectly a building block. Ammonia that is used for
commercial applications is called anhydrous ammonia. Since it has a very low boiling point, the
chemical should be kept at very low temperatures and pressure to sustain its liquid form for
commercial use. Some products that contain this alkaline substance can be cleaning products or
fertilizers, as ammonia is known to provide the right conditions for plants to grow. Although the
chemical has several commercial uses, it is very hazardous, even in low concentrations and therefore it
is important to handle the chemical properly. Inhaling or getting the solution on skin can have several
effects such as burning, fainting and even death. Even low concentrations can cause damage to the
human body when over exposed. Production

Plato’s Theory of Forms Essay
Plato s Theory of Forms
Plato was born, the son of Ariston and Perictione, in about 428 BC. His family, on both sides, was
among the most distinguished in Athens. He was born in Athens into a very wealthy family and as a
young man was a student of Socrates.
Plato is probably one of the best known philosophers.
Plato embarked on a period of extensive travel, returning to Athens some years later. In 387 BCE he
established the Academy, a school devoted to philosophical debate and learning. Aristotle was a
student at the Academy for about the last twenty years of Plato s life.
At the heart of all Plato s philosophy is his Theory of Forms, sometimes called the Theory of Ideas.

They know of nothing else and assume that there can never be anything beyond the shadows.
The world of sense is at a constant change, so how can the truth be known if the world never stays the
same from one moment to the next. Plato believed there was a certain truth, but this material world
cannot answer it. The material world only presents appearances, which lead us to make opinions, not
knowledge. Plato believes there is truth on a different plane, on the non material world of forms. He
alleged that in order for something to be real, it had to be permanent and unchanging.
In order to see exactly what a form is and how it differs from a material object, we need to look at the
first two of the properties that characterize the forms. The forms are transcendent. This means that
they do not exist in space and time. A material object, a basketball, exists at a particular place at a
particular time. A form, roundness, does not exist at any place or time. The forms exist, or subsist, in a
different way. This is especially important because it explains why the forms are unchanging. A form
such as roundness will never change; it does not even exist in time. It is the same at all times or places
in which it might be instantiated. A form does not exist in space in that it can be instantiated

Implication Of Costume Design Choices Of William...
Implication of Costume Design Choices in Staging Marlowe s Doctor Faustus An effective costume
engages the audience s attention and enhances the production and the actor s performance: (1) it
visually defines and supports the character developed by the actor, and (2) it helps establish the overall
theme and mood of the production as interpreted by the director. An effective costume speaks to the
audience s subconscious store of knowledge and experience, helping them to identify the individual
characters even before they speak and even if they are silent. The Magic Garment (Cunningham 2)
The most first and most important step in designing costumes for a show is to discuss the overall
artistic vision of the show with the director. Interpretation of the text and the resulting goal of the
production will guide the artistic design of the show, from the set and costumes to props and acting.
Eleanor Fuchs essay EF s Visit to a Small Planet: Or Some Questions to Ask of a Play provides an
analytical framework that can be applied to any play to help determine the nature of this interpretation.
When this framework is applied to Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, it is possible to
consider how design elements, such as costumes, might change the overall audience interpretation of
the play. Design choices provide details that aren t specified in the text alone, which can direct not
only the audience s overall interpretation of the show, but also their

The Similarities Between Spanish And Basque In Catalunya
If you encounter a native of France or Spain, he will most likely speak French or Spanish, as the
national language of his home country. However, a notable number of people speak a cultural
language as well. The salience of these languages on the north vs. south side of the Pyrenees
Mountains is substantial. Catalan, spoken in northeastern Spain and southeastern France, and Basque,
a language isolate spoken in northern Spain and southwestern France, are minority languages. Both
are distinct from Castilian Spanish with their own literature, people, and culture. While Basque and

In Catalunya, Catalan is spoken fluently by 85% of the population with 97% claiming they understand
( Generalitat de Catalunya. 6). This mutual intelligibility between Spanish and Catalan suggests that
Catalan is only a dialect of Castilian. While many people would like to say this is true, and Spain
under Franco attempted to integrate Catalan into mainstream Spanish culture this way (Alguera 89),
the Catalan is a distinct language with it s own lexicon, literature, grammar rules, etc. It is a
mandatory subject for children in public education in the autonomous community ( Catalans. 109).
This contrasts the Basque Country where only 30% of the population is fully fluent in Basque
(Gobierno Vasco 17). Interestingly, although Basque is classified as a vulnerable language ( Data on
the Basque Language. ) and is spoken by less than a third of the population, the highest concentration
of speakers exists in young adults, where nearly 60% of people age 16 to 24 claim to be fluent
(Gobierno Vasco 21). I think this trend is interesting because one would think the older generations
had the higher percentage of Basque speakers, and the lowest among the younger age groups owing to
assimilation to Spanish language and culture. Although Basque and Catalan are recognized co official
languages and enjoy considerable clout and use, the situation is very different in France.

A Report On Uav Traffic Safety
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is increasing
tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions with UAVs
crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause more engine foreign
object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger material and plus they have
batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air traffic controllers need to know how
many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and know exactly where they are. The FAA
has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this paper will show where they are lacking some
rules and regulations involving UAV traffic.
Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will review
some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with commercial
aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and other aircraft,
air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and regulations addressing
the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back and forth from the UAV to
the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking threats. The main concern of
this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of UAVs.
In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three

increase in number of recreational users. On September 6, 1988, the DEA s chief administrative law

Napoleon Bonaparte was a powerful leader who established the foundations of modern Europe
through an administration riddled with controversy. Napoleon came to power in 1799 by overthrowing
The Directory in France and appointing himself as the emperor, thus having complete control over the
country. Napoleon s most lasting achievements include instituting the Napoleonic code, taking control
of nearly all of Europe, and engaging in numerous battles with European nations. After years of

In the years of Napoleon s reign, he engaged in numerous wars throughout Europe to dominate nations
and force them under his control, resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives. Although,
some may say most of the wars were not initiated by Napoleon himself, and he was only responding to
a foreign threat. However, that statement is unfair because those countries only engaged in battle when
they felt Napoleon s spreading control threaten their nations. France was a powerful force and the
weaker European countries allied together to stop Napoleon from overthrowing their governments and
forcing his control on them. Not only did Napoleon take control of neighboring countries to France,
but he forced his administration, specifically the Napoleonic code, on them as well. When instituting
the Napoleonic code, many people rejoiced over the enlightened ideas it spread and freedom it
promoted. However, most, if not all of Napoleon s positive reforms were done so with negative
intentions or a counter force in mind. For instance, Napoleon restricted all information in and out of
France that viewed him negatively or could potentially obstruct the submissive society he built. In
fact, plays, newspapers, and books were censored, which kept his citizens in the dark. The deceit
continued when Napoleon promised freedom for all people, but went back on his word once it was no

to bring on the allergic reactions. The common foods that can lead to this sort of reaction include eggs,
fish, peanuts, wheat products and milk. Once these are removed then you have a very good chance of
overcoming the allergy.

The highly perfumed products tend to have a reputation for raising the allergy levels to settings that
are just unacceptable. It is advisable to use a moisturizer after bathing in order to keep the skin supple
and healthy. Moreover the products that you use will have a direct influence on the outcomes that you
get in terms of your skin type. Dry skin can make the symptoms of eczema much worse. In severe
cases of eczema it is advisable to use greasy moisturizers such as vegetable shortening and petroleum
jelly.
The use of humidifiers to prevent eczema
Installing a humidifier will go some way in ensuring that you keep your skin moist and healthy. It is
also advisable that you do not engage in too much sunbathing. This opens up the possibility of skin
cancer as well as practically damaging your skin. High heat is very difficult to control and therefore
you need to keep the body cool at all times. Make sure that you have prepared the skin for all the
treatments that you undergo.

Diclofenac Research Paper
Among the anti inflammatory drugs, diclofenac sodium is a potent and widely used non steroidal anti
inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic compound in the world. Diclofenac belongs to the acetic acid
class of non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAIDs) that includes indomethacin, etodolac, ketorolac,
nabumetone, tolmetin, and sulindac. Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac acts by inhibiting cellular
cyclooxygenases (Cox 1 and Cox 2), which results in a decrease in production of pro inflammatory
prostaglandin, prostacyclin, and thromboxane. Diclofenac has analgesic as well as antipyretic and anti
inflammatory activities. Diclofenac sodium is mainly indicated in the treatment of osteoarthritis,
rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In addition to its beneficial effects diclofenac has
also been reported to be associated with some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Experiments showed that the main route of drug elimination is different in various species, renal
excretion being the most important in man and rhesus monkey and biliary excretion the most
important in rat and dog. The lack of enterohepatic recycling in man probably accounts for the
reduced gastrointestinal toxicity of this drug (Menasse et al., 1978). Earlier workers documented
enhanced rates of leucopoiesis and depressed erythropoiesis in bone marrow on aspirin treatment
(Merchant and Modi, 2004). NSAIDs are eicosanoid depressing drugs which are used to treat
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular ache by suppressing pain and inflammation. NSAIDs
have been reported to diminish bone formation, healing, and remodeling (Nair et al., 2006). The
hazard of diclofenac at doses C150 mg daily is estimated to be comparable to that of rofecoxib and
celecoxib, as well as ibuprofen administered at high doses (McGettigan and Henry, 2011). Altered
homeostasis has been reported by the use of diclofenac and its major effects are found in platelets
functions (Power et al.,

Does Harper Lee Present The Prejudicial Issues In To Kill...
Harper Lee s To kill a Mockingbird explores the prejudicial issues which plague over the town
Maycomb. Harper Lee uses the trial of Tom Robinson a black man accused of rape on a young white
girl, Mayella as a central theme to portray the prominence of racial discrimination in Maycomb. The
racial prejudice is also widely shown through the characterisation of Atticus. Having Scout as the
narrator allows Harper Lee to highlight the gender inequity through a youthful unbiased perspective.
The chauvinistic attitudes and prejudiced views of most of the town s folk leaves Maycombs social
hierarchy in an unfair order, victimising many of the town s people due to their socially non
conforming habits some socially unaccepted people including Boo ... Show more content on

Harper Lee demonstrates the gender inequity In to Kill a Mockingbird through the description and
words of the female narrator, Scout. The prejudice of Maycomb is shown so clearly, even an innocent
child like Scout can see the raging extent of gender prejudice that surrounds her. Scout having traits
that are more masculine in quality automatically makes her an outcast and disliked by Maycomb s
many conforming ideals. Scouts innocence allows the novel to develop through an unbiased
perspective. Women had little to serve in juries and there was the constant expectation all women had
to act and dress like a Lady. Aunt Alexandra an evident example of having strong beliefs on how
separate genders should behave, constantly scolding Scout for wearing her overalls and behaving too
tomboyish. I was not so sure, but Jem told me i was being a girl, that girls always imagined things,
thats why other people hated them so, and if i started behaving like one i could just go off and find
some to play with. (4.119) Scout is raised to believe boys were better than girls, raised in a bigoted
and heavily bias community, scout finds it a difficult and unfair experience trying to understand the
unjust perceptions of the adults around her. Having Scout narrate the whole novel allows Harper lee to
highlight the gender inequity in Maycomb.
Harper lee demonstrates the social inequity through Boo characterisation and Maycombs peoples rigid
behaviours and socially discriminating codes.

  • 2. Discipline Discipline Discipline is the process of teaching the child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is not acceptable, it teaches a child to follow rules. Discipline may involve both punishment, such as a time out, and, more importantly, rewards. It sounds so straightforward, yet every parent becomes frustrated at one time or another with issues surrounding children and discipline. Every parent wants their children to be happy, respectful, respected by others, and able to find their place in the world as well behaved adults. Nobody wants to be accused of raising a spoiled brat. Our responsibility as a parent is to help our child become self reliant, respectful, and self controlled. Relatives, schools, churches, therapists, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But our goal should not be to turn him into someone he is not. As my children grew and began to understand the connection between actions and consequences, I started communicating the rules of our family s home, explained what I expect of them. Even when disciplining my children I show respect they are more likely to respect me, other family members, and other people in their life. If I lose it or overreact with disrespect, I apologize. Actually I behave the way I want them to behave. For instance, the first time my 3 year old son used pencil to decorate the bedroom wall, I discussed why that s not allowed and what will happen if he will do it again he will have to help clean the wall and will not be able to use the pencils for the rest of the day. I explained also that pencils are for paper only and not for wall. In other words I establish this kind of I set the rules and you re expected to listen or accept the consequences standard. • 4. The Dark Side Of Chocolate The Dark Side of Chocolate is a documentary that explores the underlying issues prevalent in the cocoa trade. For most first world countries chocolate is seen as an accessible treat, however in third world countries, the production of cocoa creates social issues that must be eliminated. Cocoa trade is one of the largest industries in West African countries, but the issues that arise from such trade do more harm than good. The cocoa plantations are trafficking humans to work on their plantations. Furthermore, most instances suggest that these workers do not receive any compensation for their work and most importantly some of these slave laborers are children. Thus, the three issues that the cocoa companies routinely commit in exchange for lower costs are human trafficking, slave labor, and child labor. These companies are aware of such issues but refuse to actively combat them because they are better off financially. It can be argued that these issues can be mitigated through various social, governmental and political policies aimed at combating these problems. The three main issues will be addressed and the various stakeholders affected by these issues will be analyzed. Then this paper will look at the possible solutions to these issues, whereby through government, social or political means. Human trafficking is the first of the issues prevalent in the cocoa trade. During these events we can understand some major plot similarities. Some shared plot points that I discovered while reading. For instance both adventures are started by another source. Polycarbonates started out in fuse boxes, plug connections and glazes for public buildings. Polycarbonates soon became popular for many other uses, such as plastic bottles and linings for metal based food and beverage cans. The use of polycarbonates for food packaging easily received approval in the 1960s by the FDA under its food additive regulations. During the early 1990s, Dr. Feldman became the first researcher to identify the possible impact of low levels of BPA. Feldman and his team discovered an estrogenic molecule while growing yeast in plastic flasks in 1992. They discovered the yeast wasn t synthesizing the estrogen, but rather it was leaching from the plastic. The team then performed a control experiment without the yeast in the flask, and they found there was still an estrogenic molecule present, which they later identified as BPA. Once they made the connection between polycarbonate, BPA and estrogenic activity, Feldman and his team contacted a major producer of polycarbonates. In Acts, Luke details the growth of the Christian movement and attributes that growth to the power of Jesus and his message of welcome which invites an ethnically and geographically diverse followership. The story begins in Jerusalem where the risen Jesus Christ describes God s kingdom to his disciples and instructs them to carry the message of His kingdom to the ends of the earth. The disciples begin during the Festival of the Pentacost at which Jewish pilgrims from all over the ancient world have gathered. Thousands of these pilgrims receive God s message and accept his calling to create communities of generosity and worship. Before the disciples leave Jerusalem, they are preaching to a mostly Jewish crowd. As such, their persuasive methods are generally geared to the Jewish tradition. First, the disciples claim ... Results: Different type of hydrogen peroxide | Volume of foam cm³ | 0.5% | 5 cm³ | 1% | 7 cm³ | 2% | 13 cm³ | 4% | 21 cm³ | 6% | 24 cm³ | The volume of the foam using different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide: Conclusion: As I forecasted the results proved correct that, the more concentrated the hydrogen peroxide is the higher the volume of the foam is and the less concentrated the hydrogen peroxide is the lower the volume of the foam will become. Other than the table of results the graph is also evidence to my true hypothesis. Each time the concentration of hydrogen peroxide doubles the level of foam increases but the more the concentration the foam reaches its constant point therefore slowly increasing. An example is when the 2% concentration of hydrogen peroxide was added the foam level was 13cm³ but when 4% was added to the next trial the level of foam greatly increased to 21 cm³ and as it reached its constant point, when 6% it slowed down and increased only 3 cm³ more which became 24 cm³.

  • 26. The Production of Ammonia and Its Building Blocks Also known as azane, ammonia is a chemical compound with one nitrogen and three hydrogen atoms that are tightly bonded together; giving it the formula NH3. At room temperature, ammonia exists in a gaseous state with a colourless form and a pungent smell. It boils at 33.34°C and ammonia used for household uses is usually a mixture of ammonia and water. Ammonia provides the right conditions and nutrition that are needed for the growth of terrestrial organisms. Even in commercial products such as pharmaceuticals, ammonia is directly or indirectly a building block. Ammonia that is used for commercial applications is called anhydrous ammonia. Since it has a very low boiling point, the chemical should be kept at very low temperatures and pressure to sustain its liquid form for commercial use. Some products that contain this alkaline substance can be cleaning products or fertilizers, as ammonia is known to provide the right conditions for plants to grow. Although the chemical has several commercial uses, it is very hazardous, even in low concentrations and therefore it is important to handle the chemical properly. Inhaling or getting the solution on skin can have several effects such as burning, fainting and even death. Even low concentrations can cause damage to the human body when over exposed. Production The natural occurrence of ammonia happens when plants, animals or organic matter decompose, releasing ammonia into the air. Not only that, but ammonia salts can also be ... The world of sense is at a constant change, so how can the truth be known if the world never stays the same from one moment to the next. Plato believed there was a certain truth, but this material world cannot answer it. The material world only presents appearances, which lead us to make opinions, not knowledge. Plato believes there is truth on a different plane, on the non material world of forms. He alleged that in order for something to be real, it had to be permanent and unchanging. In order to see exactly what a form is and how it differs from a material object, we need to look at the first two of the properties that characterize the forms. The forms are transcendent. This means that they do not exist in space and time. A material object, a basketball, exists at a particular place at a particular time. A form, roundness, does not exist at any place or time. The forms exist, or subsist, in a different way. This is especially important because it explains why the forms are unchanging. Implication of Costume Design Choices in Staging Marlowe s Doctor Faustus An effective costume engages the audience s attention and enhances the production and the actor s performance: (1) it visually defines and supports the character developed by the actor, and (2) it helps establish the overall theme and mood of the production as interpreted by the director. An effective costume speaks to the audience s subconscious store of knowledge and experience, helping them to identify the individual characters even before they speak and even if they are silent. The Magic Garment (Cunningham 2) The most first and most important step in designing costumes for a show is to discuss the overall artistic vision of the show with the director. Interpretation of the text and the resulting goal of the production will guide the artistic design of the show, from the set and costumes to props and acting. Eleanor Fuchs essay EF s Visit to a Small Planet: Or Some Questions to Ask of a Play provides an analytical framework that can be applied to any play to help determine the nature of this interpretation. When this framework is applied to Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, it is possible to consider how design elements, such as costumes, might change the overall audience interpretation of the play. • 33. A Report On Uav Traffic Safety Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is increasing tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions with UAVs crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause more engine foreign object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger material and plus they have batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air traffic controllers need to know how many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and know exactly where they are. The FAA has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this paper will show where they are lacking some rules and regulations involving UAV traffic. Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will review some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with commercial aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and other aircraft, air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and regulations addressing the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back and forth from the UAV to the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking threats. The main concern of this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of UAVs. In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
