Most contemporary scholars and historians dismiss this source as unreliable and in many places
entirely wrong, in any event, there is no mention of King Arthur in Gilda s writings. This absence of
early written sources pertaining to King Arthur suggests three hypotheses:
1)There is a document or written account that historians have not found or do not have access to;
2)The history of King Arthur was an oral tale, passed down verbally through a number of
generations before it was recorded in written form; or,
3)King Arthur is solely a creation of Medieval, romantic literature.
Cadbury was inhabited as a military strong hold, in the Dark Ages, in Britain.
Whether it was occupied by King Arthur is not proven, what is proven is that the site Camelot was

however, that attempts to identify Camelot are pointless. The name and the very concept of

Separate Social Classes
According to the slideshow, a social class is made up of individuals who share certain qualities
like wealth, power, and prestige. In the United States there is the upper, middle, and lower class.
Therefore, based on how much wealth or income an individual has, they are placed in one of the
three categories. The upper class is considered the elite of society. They have the means to buy
anything they desire. The article states that fashion has always been a way to distinguish between
social classes. The article uses the example of the Kimono in Japan and how it used to classify
what social rank the individual belonged to. In other words, fashion serves as a means to separate
the classes. Brands are used as a status symbol because not all

Strategic Assessment Of Walgreens And Mergers Essay
Executive Summary This preliminary strategic assessment of Walgreens will describe the
company s current corporate strategy and business model. Walgreens acquisitions and mergers
will be examined as well as the company s globalization and competitive frame. A brief overview
of how the company is performing and its cost based business strategy will also be examined. This
is the first of four reports that make up the strategic assessment for Walgreens.
Walgreens Corporate Strategy
Founded in 1901 in Illinois by Charles R. Walgreen, Sr., Walgreens was a subsidiary of Walgreens
Boots Alliance. In the most recent years, Walgreen s corporate strategy has been focused on
mergers and acquisitions, the first of which occurred in 2014 when Walgreens purchased the
remaining stake in Boots costing the company approximately $15.3 billion. (Walgreens, n.d.) With
this acquisition Walgreens became the largest pharmacy/health/beauty combination retailer in the
world, operating in all 50 states and 12 countries internationally. (Schauber, 2014) Mirroring its
main market competitor, CVS, Walgreens has also added Envision Pharma, a pharmacy benefit
management company, to its portfolio. (CVS acquired Caremark in 2007) (Bells, 2016) Due to
previous acquisitions and mergers, Walgreens is currently the most accessible pharmacy retailer in
the U.S., servicing 8 million customers each day and filling approximately 894 million
prescriptions and immunizations, every year. (Walgreens, n.d.)The

Abstract
The SAARC region with over a billion populations is contiguous to the Indian Ocean, Bay of
Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Utilization of ocean resources for power generation such as tidal,
thermal solar and wind for energy, along with other green technologies like seaweed farming and
sustainable fisheries for food would need to be incorporated in a broad framework for the region.
Development of ocean based energy systems can be integrated with early warning networks linked
by satellite which can give a few hours to days warning to help mitigate the severity of natural
disasters on human life. . Some of the calamities of note have been the Tsunamiof 2004, Bangladesh
and Orissa floods, earthquakes in Nepal and Pakistan, and recent inundation of Chennai due to
weather and bad flood management. A SAARC comprehensive Framework on disaster management
was formulated in alignment with the Hyogo Framework (2005 2015). In addition to the broad
objectives of disaster management and cooperation in the Indian Ocean and surrounding regions,
impeding disasters due to climate change need to be anticipated. Ocean energy systems are still in
their infancy, while ocean

Lily Bart
Lily Bart, the protagonist of an Edith Wharton novel titled The House of Mirth, experiences
numerous hardships throughout her life. She is a twenty nine year old bachelorette who strives to
be wealthy; she was raised by very prosperous parents who conditioned her to hate dinginess but is
not fortunate enough to live a lifestyle tantamount to the one her parents had as adults. Many times
throughout the novel, the people in which Lily Bart associate try to lend her a helping hand.
However, more often than not, Bart does not accept their gestures or does not take their advice
into consideration. The very few times Bart ever allows herself to be supported by anyone around

Mrs. Bart called decently dressed (34). Therefore, Bart always wanted the nicest things and was

Mrs. Peniston sends her checks at random times and it is hard for Bart to do things like spend

A Research Study On Global Variables
Above you see an extract from the log in page, showing the heavy dependence on $_SESSION
variables. These are required so much because they allow other pages to access the data. If I just
used local variables I d have no ability to transfer data between pages, and this is necessary to keep
track of things like who is logged in or if even anyone is logged in. All SQL queries come back as
associative arrays too, with each column entry being an element in the array, so they are very
prominent.
There are many algorithms implemented in this project throughout to do various things, from
checking passwords securely to generating tables for the admin. I will analyse some of these at a
later point.
Programming Techniques
Global Variables
Usually, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more difficult questions require more time since they are harder and will take longer. The time
setting adjusts the time defined by the difficulty slightly.
You can see what the one and two letter codes mean by looking at the getqcode function on page 4.
Parameter passing
A good example of parameter passing by reference is with the SQL queries, particularly the
connection and result. Consider the following:
$con2 is a connection variable that provides access to the MySQL database. This is therefore
clearly passed by reference as well as $r, the result since they can have their contents modified by a
function and then be used afterwards. On the other hand, in the example above (get_time), the
variables $time and $diff are passed by value. They are disconnected from the original when they
get passed, changes to them will not affect the original.
Programming practice
One of the most important things in programming is readability and code style in general. It is
good if your code runs efficiently and correctly but if anything ever goes wrong with it, it will be
a nightmare to deal with if the code isn t formatted or named correctly. I have therefore tried to
give all variables meaningful names so that if I ever look back over the code or make changes, I
will know what each bit does. Commenting is also quite important. An algorithm you understood
when programming it may end up just looking

The Importance Of Bilingualism On Child Development
Due to the increased migration and globalization, the shift in linguistic demographics and the
advent of multiculturalism sparked researchers interest to investigate the cognitive mechanism
behind bilingualism. Whether bilingualism has significant imprint on the development is still
premature to conclude with absolute certainty. However, with rich theoretical background, growing
number of empirical evidence supports the undeniable perk of bilingualism in various realms of
cognitive development. Despite the on going debate over the benefit of bilingualism, bilingualism
became an emerging topic among researchers and scholars like Ellen Bialystok, Stephanie Carlson,
and Albert Costa have been conducting research exploring the mechanism of bilingualism and
executive functions. After all, Vygotsky also argued that bilingualism may have positive impact on
human mind (Vygotsky, 1962). On the one hand, patterning, an ability to extract the underlying rule
of a sequence and to predict by applying the rule, is a highly endorsed and utilized skill that received
relatively low attention from researchers. Surprisingly little is known about the mechanism behind
the patterning and its cognitive impact, and yet the educators and policy makers have implemented
patterning instruction for last several decades. Patterning has not been widely studied in the field of
developmental psychology despite of the importance. Vast majority of the literature comes from
mathematics education and

ourselves today in many different ways. As history can be very influential to a nation, by the way
we recall and decipher those history facts that give us a feeling of place and self as a nation.
However we should recall how those authentic flashbacks can, and regularly are, controlled for
different political influences; because one event historycan have a change in the country forever.
Due to these events we know we cannot trust the government because stuff like this can still be

Imagery In Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Introduction I will be examining the literary novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn composed
by Mark Twain in 1884.This Brilliantly made novel is brought to life doing a time in the world
were sociality is full of turmoil, and social injustice is accepted and an everyday thing. In the
novel Huck Finn Twain cause chaos in a world of racism, abuse, and hypocrisy by shining a light
and making the world talk about it. The amazing way he put the social problems that the world was
facing and told them through the eyes of a homeless, depress, and rebellious teenager, is something
that make the literary world unease, even to this day. Twain captures readers attention by entangling
Huck issues in the novel with wonderful imagery, witty satire, and anticipation of character

leader of the free world . Most recently, Businesses in Germany have been shaken considerably due
to the election of Donald Trump. The United States is Germany s most important single export
destination and President Donald Trump s protectionist comments have unsettled German
politicians and business leaders. (Euronews).
Business Norms
As evidenced by the graph below, the average working hours in Germany, among other countries
in Europe, differ greatly from the United States and have continued to reduce over the years.
Over the years in Germany, the normal 40 hour work week has been considered a thing of the
past, instead adopting a less can be more attitude (Savannah Cox). Adopting a policy known as
Kurzarbeit, German officials declared an average 35 hour work week Monday through Friday,
with 24 vacation days throughout the year. This policy was designed to enhance the quality of
life, and has actually dropped Germanys unemployment rate down to 4.8% and, allowing Germany
to keep up with the rest of the world in what it exports. Germans are able to accomplish this by
adopting a zero tolerance attitude when it comes to work time. That means that any lollygagging is
severely frowned upon.

Social Themes In To Kill A Mockingbird
In the 1960 s, an extremely large amount of men were falsely, or wrongly convicted of crimes,
one of these crimes being rape. To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, portrays the topic of rape
in a saddening and sickening manner. This novel is told from a old Scout, who is a part of the
Finch family, which goes through life s obstacles while helping anyone and everyone they can to
their best ability. While doing so, the father of the family is brought into a switched around rape
case with a not so happy ending. There are three main themes that make up the book, which are race
, social class, and innocence.
The first theme this story seems to show is social class. Back then, and even a little now, this
determined where you belonged, or who you belonged with. This theme is shown many times in
this book, not only to prove its meaning, but because it was so common before the 21st century.
It s shown greatly when Calpurnia states, There s some folks who don t eat like us, but you ain t
called on to contradict em at the table when they don t (Lee 24). This quote is said to a young
Scout, who doesn t quite know that she is judging someone when it s happening. She was
confused and shocked from what Walter was doing as he poured syrup all over his food. She
didn t understand that he was only trying to get as much as he can, and add some sort of flavor
to his food because he doesn t get much food as it is. In his family situation, they are very poor, and

The Life of the Catholic Church in the US
The Catholic Church During Colonial Period between 1565 1783. The life of the Catholic

Mean s Search For Meaning By Viktor Frankl
Mean s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl Linda Felix Positive Psychology Dr. R. Barke
November 28, 2016 The book, in autobiographical mode, relates Auschwitz to the life of the
author Viktor E. Frankl in the concentration camps of the former Nazi Germany. It reports the
cruelty in which the SS soldiers used to mistreat the prisoners and in turn explains how the
concentration camp life in the mind of the average prisoner affected. As soon as they reached
the concentration camp, which in this case was Auschwitz, the prisoner was stripped of his
personal belongings and identity documents. They identified the prisoners with a number. Then
there was a first selection that for some would have a fatal destiny, crematoria and gas chambers.
The forced labor of the prisoners sometimes had a reward in the form of a coupon. This coupon
could be redeemed for a dozen cigarettes or a dozen servings of soup. Usually the vouchers were
kept for the soup, but thanks to them you could tell when a prisoner lost the will to live and
smoked their cigars to enjoy their last days of existence. The author divides life into the field into
three phases. Phase one, The Shock. The symptom that characterizes this phase, according to
Frankl, is the shock. As soon as they were at Auschwitz, they received a group of prisoners who
spoke in every imaginable and well fed European language. That is why the prisoners who arrived
thought they could share their situation. They adopt the state of

Cynthia Belar, the current interim chief executive officer. Dr. Belar revealed her story of how
she became a part of the APA, after working in several different setting related to clinical
psychology and mental health problems. While her career was truly a spectacular one, she gave
the intern a valuable advice. She stated that even when she was young, she was not completely
certain about which path to take, or what she would do in the future. Nevertheless, she found
herself along the way and was able to contribute to the best of her ability to psychology. Thus,
she believes that is it perfectly acceptable for students to be confused and uncertain of their
futures; through their experience, they will figure out their strength and weaknesses, as well as
their choice of career. Indeed, sometime college or even graduate students can be nervous and
afraid when they experience uncertainty towards their future. Life should be viewed as a journey,
where one will learn about themselves and others, to decide what they want to do, or who they
want to be. It is extremely accurate for those who study psychology, as it is a major that enable
people to study about human as a whole. On the other hand, Dr. Belar encourage the students to
propose ideas and observations about psychology and the APA. A notable suggestion revolved
around how psychology can be more accessible to the population. The author pointed out the fact
that psychology can be apply to any issues and problem presented that is related to human, and
integrated to other disciplines. Most people, and sometime even psychology major student, usually
do not realize that other than the traditional practice, psychology can be incorporate into fields such
as computer science, business, sport, etc. Additionally, any grave issues can be analyzed through a

Arthur Lubow Research Paper
In 2003, Arthur Lubow wrote an article in the New York Times titled, The Secret of the Black

Black Paintings ornamented the wall of Goya s Quinta del Sordo. Art Historian, Junquera,
studied the Black Paintings, and, given the evidence, he believes they were actually painted by
Goya s son, Javier. Javier was a businessman, not a painter, so he probably sold his paintings as

more modern than his other pieces. The style that they were painted in emerged after Goya s death.

Analysis Of In The Next Room Or The Vibrator Play
The Ohio University Theater Division s production of In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play
explored the use of vibration therapy in the early 20th century as a way to cure hysteria. The
playwright Sarah Ruhl beautifully uses the intertwining lives lives of a doctor his patients and his
wife to examine female sexuality, maleincompetence, science, marriage, and love. Most of the
plot has to do with female and male patients being treated for hysteria and what outcome the
vibrator has on the lives of the characters in medical and domestic ways. This play really
highlights the personal discovery of sexuality and of women beginning to achieve marital sex that
isn t only for their husband s pleasure. This production of the vibrator play used the contrast of a
parlor and a doctor s laboratory on a rotating set to help the audienceunderstand the constant blend
of science and society in a historical setting.
The rotating set was a unique challenge for this production and while it was a bit distracting at
times it did add a lot to the quality of the production as a whole. There are many instances where
the focus should be on one of the rooms and not the other and to help achieve this very specific
blocking is implemented. For example, there is a scene in the first act where Mrs. Givings sits in
the parlor and hears Mrs. Daldry s moans for the first time as she is being treated in the laboratory.
The focus of the scene is on Mrs. Givings s reaction to the moaning and the flickering

User Interfaces ( Ui s )
User interfaces (UI s) are a core feature in just about every modern software application. Games
are no exception to this rule. The vast majority of games utilize some form of UI to display
information such as health, skills, maps, ammo for a weapon, and more. Unity 3D offers a
variety of UI elements that you can use in your game. In this post, I ll provide instructions on how
to create a simple Pause menu in Unity. The Pause Menu will display text that says Paused and it

Similarities Between Castor And Pollux
Castor and Pollux were twins born from a single egg, Castor was mortal while Pollux was
immortal. The twins were always seen together, even at war. My sister and I are similar to Castor
and Pollux because we spend any time that we get with each other. From anywhere in school to at
home, we sit next to each other and we stay in our room together. I considered her to be both my
best friend and sister. In one variation of the myth, the twin s herd of cattle was taken by their
cousins. Upon stealing their cattle from their cousin, Castorwas badly wounded and succumbed to
death. Polluxasked his father Zeus to give half his immortality to his brother. Zeus agreed under
the terms that both twins would spend half eternity in the Underworld and half in Olympus (
Dioscuri ). I made a similar decision as Pollux when he sacrificed his immortality to bring his
brother, Castor back to life. I relinquished going to UCR to attend the same University with my
sister. Throughout the years, Kelly and I faced our hardship together, and I couldn t stand being
away from my sister. In Pollux and Castor tale it shows them taking the same path similar to my
story when Pollux sacrificed his immortality, he now must suffer in the Underworld with Castor.
Nowadays, I spent my time assisting my sister and in return. she helps me too. Not all individuals
in my life that help shaped me had close connections to me, some of the individuals were my peers

Women During Midlife Crisis
The world around us has many current issues that relate one way or another to family and
consumer science. I recently read an article written by Joan R. McFadden and Kay T. Rawson
Swan, entitled Women During Midlife: Is It Transition or Crisis? . The article talked about how
women go through the different stages of menopause also known as mid life crisis to some. With
a mid life crisis it is stated to involve a feeling of loneliness, a period of wanting to find one s self
in the world, a time to reinvent yourself, to live outside of a womans everyday life style, and to
experience changes in health and familyroles. For many women these statements are said to be true,
but not all women are the same. Within the article it states that statistics

Features Of Athenian Democracy
Background, context and ideas of chosen philosophy
In approximately 550 B.C., democracy came to Athens in Greece. The word Democracy was first
known to be used by Herodotus in 440 B.C.
Athenian Democracy was a system of direct democracy, where participating citizens voted directly
on legislation and executive bills. Although not everyone who lived in Athens could participate in
the democracy. Only male citizens over 18 could take part, and a majority of the population at the
time weren t citizens. Participating in the democratic process came with full time responsibility.
According to Xenophon, most participants had slaves to work for them and some scholars point out
that without slaves, democracy would not have been possible.
Athenian democracy was unique among political structures of the ancient world where the
majority were monarchies where a king or another single ruler had absolute power over everybody
else or shared it with a few selected aristocrats. One of the things that made Athenian democracy
unique is that all free male citizens decided all important questions or actually ruled the country
through voting on an assembly. Military generals were also selected and such. Athenian democracy
influenced later modern democracy through ideas that were picked up by others in Europe mostly
in 1700 s such as Rousseau, Voltaire, Hobbes and others who advocated restriction of absolute
monarchy and liberalism.
Key Features of this philosophy (political, economic and

Anarchism In Emma Goldman s What I Believe
I enjoyed Emma Goldman s What I Believe it was a breath of fresh air in contrast to last weeks
excruciating reading of Henry David Thoreau s Where I Lived, and What I Lived For which
seemed like a glorified account of a basement nerd turned naturalist hippy for the sake of eking out
an original existence from the society that rejected him for his homely looks and unfortunate
events that followed him. Nevertheless his literary contributions helped the collective intellect of
the literary world. In regards to Goldman s views on government designed to maintain the status

The human body craves homeostasis and will do anything in this power to achieve it and most

points on militarism are valid and the fact that America has one of the largest incarcerated
populations and biggest military budgets are a symptom of a capitalist system that lack reforms

dismantling of the government. Goldman s views on marriage do hold some water to a certain

Piaget s Developmental Stages Essay
Piaget s developmental stages are ways of normal intellectual development. There are four different
stages. The stages start at infant age and work all the way up to adulthood. The stages include
things like judgment, thought, and knowledge of infants, children, teens, and adults. These four
stages were names after Jean Piageta developmental biologist and psychologist. Piaget recorded
intellectual abilities and developments of infants, children, and teens. The four different stages of
Piaget s developmental stages are sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal
operational. Sensorimotor is from birth up to twenty four months of age. Preoperational which is

I handed my infant niece, Harper, a set of keys, thinking she would shake them and giggle at the
noise they made. I thought this because in Piaget s developmental stage, sensorimotor, it states that
infants learn from experimenting and their main focus is what is happening in that very moment.
My prediction was correct. As soon as I held the keys in front of her she began to reach for them.
Then once I handed the keys to her, she rattled them making a clanging noise.
The preoperational stage is when infants become older, young children and they are able to think
in a more symbolic way. In this stage children start to learn the difference between real and make
believe, past and future. They tend to have more of an imagination as they grow older. Children in
the preoperational stage still are not completely logical with their thinking. They go more off
intuition. Do more of what they want to do, not what is the best thing to do. They are still too
young to grasp the concept of cause and effect. They also do not understand time and comparison
yet.
My niece, Arianna, plays house and has baby dolls. She pretends like she is a mother to her baby
dolls. Even though this is make believe she is playing the role of a mother to her baby doll. This
connects to Piaget s developmental stage of preoperational because her thinking is not completely
logical, but she knows that the baby is not actually real. I think that this is how most little

William Shakespeare s A Good And Lasting Legacy
William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare left a good, lasting legacy that we see almost every day and we don t even
know it s there. A legacy is something that you leave behind weather good or bad, Shakespeare s
left a legacy of books and being thought as one of the greatest writers in the world. In William s
life he created many pieces of literature and words that people use everywhere today. We may not
know a whole lot about William Shakespeare s life but we can see that he was a very gifted man in
playwriting. Some people still today, with all the knowledge we have about his think he may not

Shakespeare was a man that wrote many pieces, and many inspired and helped teach other people a
lesson.
We don t really know what Shakespeare s life was really like but we can get a general idea from
the pieces he has written. In all of his many great works, William Shakespeare remains a strange
man when it comes to his history. There are just two sources of information on the Shakespeare
and his works, and some documents that have survived from Elizabeth s time. There are many
holes in this piece of information, it tells us little about Shakespeare and who he really was (

How To Raise The Driving Age Essay
According to the article States Urged to Raise the Driving Age. approximately 5,000 teenagers
die each year in car crashes; however, not all of the 5,000 deaths are the fault of teenage drivers,
other drivers who could be adults can create accidents which lead to the death of teenagers, which
proves that anybody can create a vehicle accident. Several states have already raised the drivingage
from 16 to 18. Raising the driving age will only create bad drivers at 18 instead of 16. The states
that have raised the driving age believe that the number of teenage fatalities will be reduced as
16 year olds would not be permitted to obtain a driver license until they reach the age of 18.
After all, every driver on the road was inexperienced, as well as, accident prone at one time or

Why A Bathroom Is Worth Going Big
It doesn t matter whether you have a big home or a small home. Your bathroom is one of the rooms
you should invest in as many luxurious fixtures and amenities as you can.
Why A Bathroom is Worth Going Big
The bathroom can be a haven, a place where you take long soaks in the tub at the end of tiring
days at work. Reason enough why a bathroom remodel is one of the best things you can do for you
and your home.
On top of that, bathroom remodeling gives you an 80% to 90% return on investment should you
ever decide to sell your home. Whether it s a partial upgrade or a complete overhaul, a bathroom
remodel is one worthwhile project you should seriously consider investing in.
Deciding on the Scope of Your Bathroom Remodeling Project
The minute you start on your bathroom remodeling project, it can result in either one of two
things: you ll have that gleaming, tiled paradise of a bathroom you ve always wanted to have or
you ll end up having a half assembled mess of old and new bathroom fixtures. To prevent the
second scenario, you should decide on the scope of your bathroom remodeling project before you
start anything.
Based on your budget, the span of time you have, and the size of your bathroom and its current
state, you have several options for remodeling your bathroom:
Option 1. Do a surface level bathroom remodeling. This is an option when your bathroom fixtures,
the knobs on the faucets and such, are still in good condition but your bathtub and/or your shower

Additionally, engineering program curriculum of the 10 universities, mentioned previously, are also

BIM education. In engineering program, BIM is able to apply on administration of construction
process, integrated design delivery project, construction management, structural analysis, and
costing construction, and it has many other related subjects which is able to applied indirectly.
However, only 2 universities have BIM course, and 1 university is planning to apply into the
engineering program curriculum among the previously mentioned 10 university. According to the
Universities engineering program curriculum, their major goal of the courses is that students have
effective architectural digital design skill and flexibly responding technique to the design changes
during the project. Moreover, during the courses, student can understand how data or information
of architectural design is shared with construction by computer science and digital technology in
design and construction phase. Therefore, according to the researches in terms of BIM course in

Upon seeing us marching towards them, General Tilly s forces likewise advanced towards us.
The battle ensued with our forces trying to quell their attacks of pikes, artilleries and cavalries. It
was an exhausting 5 hours long battle as we repelled countless attacks from our enemies. The
General s infantry used mixed formations of around 3,000 gunmen and pikemen, while the others
from them charged with their cavalries. The gunmen formed the outer section of the battle array,
while the pikemen gathered at the center. Cavalries were positioned on the wings of their
battalion and led the charges before the gunmen and pikemen. For our enemies, it was a standard
battle formation. The joint power of the King s army and the Saxons, on the other hand, used more
innovative battle tactics, which made our forces more mobile and agile than our enemies. Our
firing technique was more advanced than our enemy, utilizing five ranks pikemen at the back and
six ranks gunmen at the front. The first three ranks of gunmen fire simultaneously and the last
three ranks served as secondary firepower. This firing technique is very innovative since the first
three ranks had a variety of firing technique. The first rank is kneeling, the second rank is

Bronze Bow Quotes
Matthew 1:44 says, But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
(Matthew 1:44). This verse means that God wants us to love and pray for our enemies, not to
hate them. This verse is also true in a lot of different books like The Bronze Bow. In the novel
The Bronze Bow, by Elizabeth George Speare, the theme Love can overcome Hate is shown by
Samson, Jesus, and Simon to Daniel.
First, Samson displays love to Daniel in many distinctive ways. He works in Rosh s camp for
Daniel by carrying water to the camp, hunting for food, and keeping Daniel s kiln going (Pg. 29
31). Also, Samson cares for Daniel by sleeping by him and protecting him (Pg. 34 35). Most of
all, Samson surrenders his own life to save Daniel and his friends to rescue Joel instead of
staying safe and protecting himself (Pg. 207 210). Above all, Samson did all these things for
Daniel to recompense him for what Daniel did for him. Daniel freed Samson from his chains and
Samson saw that Daniel was the one who saved him, not Rosh (Pg. 14). Samson feels like he must

Simon explains certain parts of Jesus teaching that can relate to his life to Daniel like, He says
that the only chains that matter are fear and hate because they chain our souls. (Pg. 244). And,
Simon informs and shows Daniel that he needs to put his faith and hope in Jesus so that he can

It can be seen that the fundamental frequency is indeed lower in the phrase final position than in
the phrase medial position. With the independent samples t test, this gave a result of p = 0.528.
This means that if those samples are unrelated, the chance that a difference of this size would arise
is 52.8%. A significant result would be 5%, so this is not significant. Because there is also an effect
of voicing on the fundamental frequency, the Voice Onset Time(VOT) was measured for all
different consonants preceding the measured vowels(M= 23.78, SD = 40.33). The expectation was
that when the vowel was preceded by a voiceless consonant, the fundamental frequency would rise.
As the VOT is different in English than in Dutch (Mondini, Alphen, Miller, 2002), the distinction
was made between positive and negative values. In this case, the difference of the mean is
significant (independent samples t test, t(60) = 0.021, p 0.05).

The Scope Of Psychoanneuroimmunology
C)Psychoneuroimmunology:
Psychoneuroimmunology is an inter disciplinary science that combines the fields of Psychology,
Neurology and Immunology. Primarily, it studies the connection between mental processes and
physical health through the interaction between immune system and neural synapses. The approach
is to see human body as an inter connected, inter dependent system which operates in accord. The
range of Psychoneuroimmunology is simply exhaustive. The impact of human thoughts, emotions,
feelings, behaviour, and environment on the physical body varies from person to person;
depending upon an individual s biological history. This intensely dissolves the already dated mind
body distinction. The two are cohesive, and work as a single unit.It is interesting to note, this new

King Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory Essay examples King Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory the feast of Pentacost all manner of men assayed to pull at the sword that wold assay, but none might prevail but Arthur, and he pulled it afore all the lords and commons that were there, wherefore all the commons cried at once, We will have Arthur unto our king; we will put him no more in delay, for we all see that it is God s will that he shall be our king, and who that holdeth against it, we will slay him . Most contemporary scholars and historians dismiss this source as unreliable and in many places entirely wrong, in any event, there is no mention of King Arthur in Gilda s writings. This absence of early written sources pertaining to King Arthur suggests three hypotheses: 1)There is a document or written account that historians have not found or do not have access to; 2)The history of King Arthur was an oral tale, passed down verbally through a number of generations before it was recorded in written form; or, 3)King Arthur is solely a creation of Medieval, romantic literature. Cadbury was inhabited as a military strong hold, in the Dark Ages, in Britain. Whether it was occupied by King Arthur is not proven, what is proven is that the site Camelot was used for what it was supposed to be used for at the right period in British history. The name and the very concept of Camelot are inventions of the French Medieval poets There is a tendency in our society, to romanticize the past, to mystify it to suit our own imaginations and to fit our own conceptions of what we thought it must have been like. These are required so much because they allow other pages to access the data. If I just used local variables I d have no ability to transfer data between pages, and this is necessary to keep track of things like who is logged in or if even anyone is logged in. All SQL queries come back as associative arrays too, with each column entry being an element in the array, so they are very prominent. The more difficult questions require more time since they are harder and will take longer. The time setting adjusts the time defined by the difficulty slightly. You can see what the one and two letter codes mean by looking at the getqcode function on page 4. Parameter passing A good example of parameter passing by reference is with the SQL queries, particularly the connection and result. Consider the following: $con2 is a connection variable that provides access to the MySQL database. This is therefore clearly passed by reference as well as $r, the result since they can have their contents modified by a function and then be used afterwards. On the other hand, in the example above (get_time), the variables $time and $diff are passed by value. They are disconnected from the original when they get passed, changes to them will not affect the original. Programming practice One of the most important things in programming is readability and code style in general. It is good if your code runs efficiently and correctly but if anything ever goes wrong with it, it will be a nightmare to deal with if the code isn t formatted or named correctly. I have therefore tried to give all variables meaningful names so that if I ever look back over the code or make changes, I will know what each bit does. Commenting is also quite important. • 10. The Importance Of Bilingualism On Child Development Due to the increased migration and globalization, the shift in linguistic demographics and the advent of multiculturalism sparked researchers interest to investigate the cognitive mechanism behind bilingualism. Whether bilingualism has significant imprint on the development is still premature to conclude with absolute certainty. However, with rich theoretical background, growing number of empirical evidence supports the undeniable perk of bilingualism in various realms of cognitive development. Despite the on going debate over the benefit of bilingualism, bilingualism became an emerging topic among researchers and scholars like Ellen Bialystok, Stephanie Carlson, and Albert Costa have been conducting research exploring the mechanism of bilingualism and executive functions. After all, Vygotsky also argued that bilingualism may have positive impact on human mind (Vygotsky, 1962). On the one hand, patterning, an ability to extract the underlying rule of a sequence and to predict by applying the rule, is a highly endorsed and utilized skill that received relatively low attention from researchers. Surprisingly little is known about the mechanism behind the patterning and its cognitive impact, and yet the educators and policy makers have implemented patterning instruction for last several decades. Patterning has not been widely studied in the field of developmental psychology despite of the importance. Vast majority of the literature comes from mathematics education and ... This novel is told from a old Scout, who is a part of the Finch family, which goes through life s obstacles while helping anyone and everyone they can to their best ability. While doing so, the father of the family is brought into a switched around rape case with a not so happy ending. There are three main themes that make up the book, which are race , social class, and innocence. The first theme this story seems to show is social class. Back then, and even a little now, this determined where you belonged, or who you belonged with. Barke November 28, 2016 The book, in autobiographical mode, relates Auschwitz to the life of the author Viktor E. Frankl in the concentration camps of the former Nazi Germany. It reports the cruelty in which the SS soldiers used to mistreat the prisoners and in turn explains how the concentration camp life in the mind of the average prisoner affected. As soon as they reached the concentration camp, which in this case was Auschwitz, the prisoner was stripped of his personal belongings and identity documents. They identified the prisoners with a number. Then there was a first selection that for some would have a fatal destiny, crematoria and gas chambers. The forced labor of the prisoners sometimes had a reward in the form of a coupon. This coupon could be redeemed for a dozen cigarettes or a dozen servings of soup. Usually the vouchers were kept for the soup, but thanks to them you could tell when a prisoner lost the will to live and smoked their cigars to enjoy their last days of existence. The author divides life into the field into three phases. Phase one, The Shock. The symptom that characterizes this phase, according to Frankl, is the shock. As soon as they were at Auschwitz, they received a group of prisoners who spoke in every imaginable and well fed European language. That is why the prisoners who arrived thought they could share their situation. They adopt the state of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of In The Next Room Or The Vibrator Play The Ohio University Theater Division s production of In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play explored the use of vibration therapy in the early 20th century as a way to cure hysteria. The playwright Sarah Ruhl beautifully uses the intertwining lives lives of a doctor his patients and his wife to examine female sexuality, maleincompetence, science, marriage, and love. Most of the plot has to do with female and male patients being treated for hysteria and what outcome the vibrator has on the lives of the characters in medical and domestic ways. This play really highlights the personal discovery of sexuality and of women beginning to achieve marital sex that isn t only for their husband s pleasure. This production of the vibrator play used the contrast of a parlor and a doctor s laboratory on a rotating set to help the audienceunderstand the constant blend of science and society in a historical setting. The rotating set was a unique challenge for this production and while it was a bit distracting at times it did add a lot to the quality of the production as a whole. There are many instances where the focus should be on one of the rooms and not the other and to help achieve this very specific blocking is implemented. For example, there is a scene in the first act where Mrs. Givings sits in the parlor and hears Mrs. Daldry s moans for the first time as she is being treated in the laboratory. Athenian Democracy was a system of direct democracy, where participating citizens voted directly on legislation and executive bills. Although not everyone who lived in Athens could participate in the democracy. Only male citizens over 18 could take part, and a majority of the population at the time weren t citizens. Participating in the democratic process came with full time responsibility. Athenian democracy was unique among political structures of the ancient world where the majority were monarchies where a king or another single ruler had absolute power over everybody else or shared it with a few selected aristocrats. One of the things that made Athenian democracy unique is that all free male citizens decided all important questions or actually ruled the country through voting on an assembly. My prediction was correct. As soon as I held the keys in front of her she began to reach for them. Then once I handed the keys to her, she rattled them making a clanging noise. The preoperational stage is when infants become older, young children and they are able to think in a more symbolic way. In this stage children start to learn the difference between real and make believe, past and future. They tend to have more of an imagination as they grow older. Children in the preoperational stage still are not completely logical with their thinking. They go more off intuition. Do more of what they want to do, not what is the best thing to do. This speech effectively motivates the Scottish soldiers to fight instead of flee. William Wallace is trying to motivate the soldiers to fight since most of them have doubts about surviving against the English army and would rather flee to live another day then to die on the battlefield. Throughout the speech William is riding on a horse in front of his men pacing back and forth on his horse as his men are lined up listening to him. The battle ensued with our forces trying to quell their attacks of pikes, artilleries and cavalries. It was an exhausting 5 hours long battle as we repelled countless attacks from our enemies. The General s infantry used mixed formations of around 3,000 gunmen and pikemen, while the others from them charged with their cavalries. The gunmen formed the outer section of the battle array, while the pikemen gathered at the center. Cavalries were positioned on the wings of their battalion and led the charges before the gunmen and pikemen. For our enemies, it was a standard battle formation. The joint power of the King s army and the Saxons, on the other hand, used more innovative battle tactics, which made our forces more mobile and agile than our enemies. Our firing technique was more advanced than our enemy, utilizing five ranks pikemen at the back and six ranks gunmen at the front. The first three ranks of gunmen fire simultaneously and the last three ranks served as secondary firepower. • 36. Bronze Bow Quotes Matthew 1:44 says, But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 1:44). This verse means that God wants us to love and pray for our enemies, not to hate them. This verse is also true in a lot of different books like The Bronze Bow. In the novel The Bronze Bow, by Elizabeth George Speare, the theme Love can overcome Hate is shown by Samson, Jesus, and Simon to Daniel. First, Samson displays love to Daniel in many distinctive ways. He works in Rosh s camp for Daniel by carrying water to the camp, hunting for food, and keeping Daniel s kiln going (Pg. 29 31). Also, Samson cares for Daniel by sleeping by him and protecting him (Pg. 34 35). Most of all, Samson surrenders his own life to save Daniel and his friends to rescue Joel instead of staying safe and protecting himself (Pg. 207 210). Above all, Samson did all these things for Daniel to recompense him for what Daniel did for him. Daniel freed Samson from his chains and Samson saw that Daniel was the one who saved him, not Rosh (Pg. 14). Samson feels like he must commit to do all that he can to ... With the independent samples t test, this gave a result of p = 0.528. This means that if those samples are unrelated, the chance that a difference of this size would arise is 52.8%. A significant result would be 5%, so this is not significant. Because there is also an effect of voicing on the fundamental frequency, the Voice Onset Time(VOT) was measured for all different consonants preceding the measured vowels(M= 23.78, SD = 40.33). The expectation was that when the vowel was preceded by a voiceless consonant, the fundamental frequency would rise. As the VOT is different in English than in Dutch (Mondini, Alphen, Miller, 2002), the distinction was made between positive and negative values. In this case, the difference of the mean is significant (independent samples t test, t(60) = 0.021, p 0.05). Primarily, it studies the connection between mental processes and physical health through the interaction between immune system and neural synapses. The approach is to see human body as an inter connected, inter dependent system which operates in accord. The range of Psychoneuroimmunology is simply exhaustive. The impact of human thoughts, emotions, feelings, behaviour, and environment on the physical body varies from person to person; depending upon an individual s biological history.
