Abstract
For this project, I will be conducting multiple experiments regarding the chirality of different forms
of ibuprofen. The question I m trying to solve is whether or not common brands of ibuprofen have
the same formulation. In order to perform this exercise, I will need to create a homemade
polarimeter in order to measure the angle at which the brands of ibuprofen will reflect light,
resulting in finding out if the chosen brands have a varied rotation of light. I believe that the
different brands will reflect at different angles based off of its chirality. After performing the tests,
the results I have gathered led me to believe that my hypothesis was proven to be wrong. The
Motrin, Advil, and Equate seemed to all get bright in the same areas. The only difference was that
the Motrin was the brightest one out of them all.

Emotions In Karen Hesse s Out Of The Dust
In the book, Out of the Dust, written by Karen Hesse, readers can experience the many emotions
of a teenage girl coming of age in the harsh climate of the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. The
novel is historical fiction, written in first person and free verse poetry. The main character, Billie
Jo writes of her turbulent time from the ages of 13 to 14 years, in the form of journal entries. Each
entry is titled and broken down into seasons rather than specific dates. There are several themes
repeated in the story, such as forgiveness, escape, healing and hope.
