The Physics of Archery Essay
The Physics of Archery
There are not many activities out there that relax and soothe me quite like shooting my bow. It is not
as simple as it sounds though, just pulling on the string, releasing the string, and watching the arrow
fly towards your target. There are a number of aspects that must be taken into consideration when
trying to shoot a bow and arrow efficiently, this is where we will get into the physics of archery.
There are two main things to consider when looking at archery and the physics concepts behind it.
First there is the bow, which basically is a device that uses human force over a distance and converts
that into stored Mechanical Potential Energy. The second factor involves that stored Mechanical
Energy being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The materials that construct the Recurve bow must be taken into consideration when looking at the
force applied from the bow. The most popular material for traditional archers today would have to be a
certain type of wood from the yew tree. The reason for this particular choice of wood is that it contains
the highest elastic energy storage per unit mass for any type of wood, which is around 700 Jkg 1.
Which is very close to having the same rating as spring steel. However with technology these days
more people are leaning towards a type of carbon fiberglass laminate. This particular combination
brings both a lighter weight than wood and a higher elasticity rating. The reason some wood bows are
still around is due to the fact the old timer traditional type archers shun using any kind of technology
or advancements to aid them in shooting their bows. The material of the strings also needs to be taken
into consideration, this is so because the string mass needs to be kept as low as possible for obvious
reasons with efficiency and speed of the bow.
Another thing to be looked at would be the Draw Weight or Draw Force of the bow, which basically is
how much weight or force is

How My Own Culture And Identity Influence My Interactions...
How my own culture and identity influence my interactions with others? Culture is defined as asocial
heritage of a group; it influences how people communicate with each other. Also referred to as the
cumulative deposit experience, values, customs often affected by religious beliefs, it varies from one
community to the other, it is transmitted through language and arts, from one generation to the next.
Cultural identity is feeling of belonging to a group, it is an element that is brought about when a
person comprehends his/her own culture, it is part of a person s self conception and perception and
this helps the person to also comprehend and appreciate the culture of other people as well. It is
related to nationality, religion, ethnicity, generation or any kind of social group that has its own
distinct culture. So culture plays an important role in one s life because it is a strong factor in shaping
one s identity. In my life, culture identity is very important because it tells who I am. It has shaped me
into the person I am now. I am coming from culture that has had an impact on my norms, values , and
beliefs. I was born and raised in Sudan, a country with a multi ethnic group, with a mixture of African,
Arabic and Islamic traditions and values. Back in my home country, I belong to the dominant social
groups as being Middle Age, Male, Arabic, Muslim, and Middle Class. Although there is huge

A Farewell Of Arms By Ernest Hemingway
In his novel A Farewell to Arms Ernest Hemingway wrote, We re going to have a strange life. (D). His
life was not ordinary by any means; he became the voice of his generation with his poignant works
capturing the emotions of the American people after World War I. In his novel A Farewell to Arms
Ernest Hemingway attempts to demonstrate through the characters of Frederic Henry and Rinaldi the
feelings of horror and disillusionment the people of the Modern era tried to escape.
Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899, in the suburbs of Chicago to a middle class
family. As the oldest of six children, Hemingway was very close with his mother even though he often
disagreed with her values (Shuman, R. Baird 897). Hemingway s passion for the outdoors was
instilled in him at a young age when his family would spend summers in the woods of northern
Michigan ( Hemingway, Ernest ). After graduating from Oak Park High School in 1917, Hemingway
decided to continue doing what he loved instead of going to college; he began working for The Kansas
City Star as a reporter where he began to develop his unique writing style (Shuman, R. Baird 897).
After the newspaper ran an article about the war, Hemingway decided to enlist ( Hemingway, Ernest ).
Hemingway was disappointed when he was quickly rejected by the U.S. Army because of his poor
eyesight; determined to help Hemingway joined the Red Cross and was sent to the Italian Austrian
front as an ambulance driver ( Ernest

Jefferson Memorial and the Pantheon Essays
Jefferson Memorial and the Pantheon
The Jefferson Memorial is a testimonial to the past, present, and future of the United States. Its
architecture, like most neo Classical buildings, gives a sense of permanence. This permanence has a
history far older than many would suspect. Centuries ago and thousands of miles away a building was
erected that would later become the model for which many other buildings, including the Jefferson
Memorial, are based upon. This building is the Roman Pantheon. Though the Jefferson Memorial
borrows the basic form and elements from the Pantheon, the Memorial has distinctive differences
from its predecessor.
The Memorial is located in Washington, DC in an area of the city known as The Mall (Weeks, AIA ...

It is a grave mistake though, to believe that the Memorial is only a copy of the Roman model. No, the
Jefferson Memorial is quite unique, and has distinctive differences from the Pantheon.
The Pantheon was built in Rome under the patronage of Emperor Hadrian between 125 and 128 CE. It
was originally raised on a podium but that has long been covered up by centuries of dirt and debris
(Stokstad, Art History, pg. 263). Its facade was made to resemble a typical Greek or Roman temple but
behind this porch lies a giant rotunda, or circular building. It has 20 foot thick walls that raise 75 feet
high . . . and support a huge, round, bowl shaped dome, 143 feet in diameter and 143 feet from the
floor at its summit (Stokstad, pg263 264). Like most Roman buildings, the Pantheon s surface consists
of marble. Beneath the marble veneer lies internal brick arches and concrete that support the dome.
The walls form a structural drum that holds up the dome. These structural elements are disguised by a
wealth of architectural detail columns, exedrae, pilasters and entablatures in two tiers (Stokstad, pg.
264). The design of simple repetition of square against a circle . . . established on a large scale by the
juxtaposition of the rectilinear portico against the rotunda (Stokstad, pg. 264 265). This repetition of
square on circle is also repeated in the interior of the building. The floor also shows the motif of

How Did The Fall Of The Berlin Wall
After second world war, the alliance force divided Germany into two states, East Germany and West
Germany. In the years between 1949 and 1961, about 2.5 million people fled from East to West
Germany , including steadily rising numbers of skilled workers, professionals and intellectuals(1).
Their lost threatened to destroy the economic viability of East German. In response, East Germany
built a barrier to close off East German s access to West Berlin ( and hence West Germany). This
Barrier, the Berlin Wall, was first erected on the night of August 12 13, 1961, as the result of a decree
passed on August 12 by East German. But the wall fall due to some mass demonstration and political

How Does Gilgamesh Relate To Immortality
Athanasia: Human Impermanence and the Journey for Eternal Life in the Epic of Gilgamesh Will you
too die as Enkidu did? Will grief become your food? Will we both fear the lonely hills, so vacant? I
now race from place to place, dissatisfied with whereever I am and turn my step toward Utnapishtim,
godchild of Ubaratutu (Jackson Gilgamesh Tablet IX 4 9) Gilgamesh so much feared death that he
threw away his honor as a warrior in order to obtain immortality. For centuries there have existed
individuals who yearn for everlasting life. A journey that so many have traversed, but have failed in
the attempt. The ideology surrounding immortality transcends time and a plethora of cultures. The
theme, immortality appears in stories from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The life that he once lived is shattered into pieces and he finds it difficult to return to his former
glorious self; this is the first time in Gilgamesh s life that he has ever felt the emotions of fear.
Gilgamesh is afraid to die. The inevitable fate that has plagued humanity for ages, death, has now
become the greatest barrier that he must overcome. The immense scope that separates death from
eternal life is breached, this crossover leads to a paramount connection between the supernatural and
mortal universe. Gilgamesh, two thirds god, and one third human is left at the intermediary. His
metamorphosis will establish a sense of restitution in his life. Along these lines, even though
Gilgamesh existed thousands of years ago, he remains immortal in a sense that we still refer to him
and his story (Sadigh 85). Enkidu is a primary character in the epic, his death dramatically changes the
personality of Gilgamesh. His metamorphosis and death makes evident the innate rhythm of life,
which represents the link that he has with nature. With love, and self realization, Enkidu eventually
becomes a friend to Gilgamesh. Readers are able to see the merging of Gilgamesh s divine stature with
Enkidu s wild nature, which in turn changes Enkidu from a simple beast to a figure that is larger than
life (Harris 122). He essentially becomes an equal to Gilgamesh. Enkidu undergoes the following
transformation: From the barbarian man that he once was,

Political Beliefs Of Alexander Hamilton Vs. Thomas Jefferson
Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson
Democracy is defined as, A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and
exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving
periodically held free elections (Merriam Webster). This means that the basis for American
government is a firm belief in the common people that they have the knowledge and power to choose
leaders to guide the government in the right direction. In the 1790s there was a monumental political
debate over whether the constitution should be ratified and if in needed a bill of rights, and at the
center of the debate was Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. While they both believed
democracy was the best form of government for the new nation, both men had very different ideas
about how to shape the government and its entities. Thomas Jefferson is the better spokesperson a
democratic government because of his political beliefs and inherent belief in human reason, a
conviction that is not held by Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Jefferson was a enthusiastic supporter of American democracy through his support for the
anti federalist and belief that the citizens had the capacity to choose a leader. Jefferson s party, the anti
federalists, would only endorse the constitution if there was also a bill of rights written. They wanted
to protect civil liberties of the everyday farmer. This proves Jefferson s support of democracy because
he is trying to protect the

Animal Farm Or Ussr Part II
Cliffy Smith James Hensley Pre IB LA 10 10 April 2015 Animal Farm or USSR Part II Animal Farm
written by George Orwell is a hopeful novel about a group of animals that overthrow their farmer and
create an animalistic government. Much like All the King s Men a novel by Robert Penn Warren,
Animal Farm has strong political undertones relating to the the skewed government of Soviet Russia.
Throughout the book many animal characters can be identified with the political leaders and
influences throughout Soviet Russia. According to New World Encyclopedia, New Historicism is an
approach to literary criticism and literary theory based on the premise that a literary work should be
considered a product of the time, place, and historical circumstances of its composition rather than as
an isolated work of art or text. Animal Farm and it s direct correlation with the USSR connects New
Historicism and the impactful writing of Orwell with fluidity and ease. New Historicism is a criticism
developed in the 1980 s by a Harvard English professor named Stephen Greenblatt. This criticism
takes a look at every aspect of the story including the author s political and emotional bias. It was used
to bring outside information and cultural context into the book and create a deeper meaning for the
reader. New Historicism gained widespread influence in the 90 s through its new way for reading and
analyzing a story. Judith Newton explains New Historicism as a criticism that aims to subject the

My Career As An Information Technology Professional
My career as an Information Technology professional has spanned 25 years at two companies (three
years at the first, and the rest with my current employer). In those 25 years, I have reported to many
people. They have all formally held the title of Manager, but very few of them have been worthy of
being called a Leader. By definition, a leader provides leadership. But then leadership itself, I suppose,
is open for interpretation. Some would say a leader is one who simply gives orders and then verifies
those orders have been completed. Others would say a leader is akin to the Oracle, sitting on their
mountain, waiting for their followers to come and ask for pearls of wisdom, which are then handed out
only to the worthy. I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that their leader is there for them. Lastly, Colonel Shaw makes sure his men have the proper training

soldier under stress by firing a pistol close to his head while he s reloading. When questioned as to
why he was being so hard on the soldier, Shaw stated that he was preparing him for battle: It s my job
to get these men ready, and I will. And he does. Time after time, Colonel Shaw fights on behalf of his

Positives And Negatives Of Sorority
Animal house, Sydney White, and The Revenge of the Nerds. These are movies about Fraternities and

levels, as the war cry of the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have
personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed my life forever. My
freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta

I was also made to jump out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority

Exercise is beneficial for bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons, but when the body undergoes the
process of remodeling there is a fine line between breakdown and buildup. When breakdown of tissues
occurs more than buildup of tissues the body is more likely to experience an overuse injury. Training
errors are the most common cause of overuse injuries. Errors occur in training frequency, intensity,
and length as many people try to increase their workouts too quickly. Previous injuries can also lead to
more injuries as athlete s may push to train too hard so they can return sooner.
Learning proper exercise technique may help prevent overuse injuries. An athlete must learn to listen
to their bodies to prevent overuse injuries, No pain, no gain, might not be right, if in extreme amounts
of pain it is important limit or even stop exercise until the problem feels better. The ten percent rule
might benefit athletes as it requires an athlete only increase the intensity of their workout regime by
ten percent each week. To treat an overuse injury one must, cut down the intensity of a work out, or
even stop it completely. One can maintain their fitness level while treating an overuse injury by
varying hard and easy workouts and adding cross training for extra strength. Learning proper workout
technique is important, it may have caused the injury so it is vital to treat it and prevent the injury

Sonnet 95 Summary
In sonnet 95, the speaker depicts a paternal feeling while speaking to the addressee, where indeed the
poet reminds his audience about way appearance can be so deceiving. The young man is relying on his
good appearance to veil his sexual immorality. Being that he is handsome and attractive, people are
reluctant to disapprove his behavior. In the first quadrant, the poet employs different stylistic devices,
which include simile, as the young man is likened to a fragrant rose, and on the other hand, he is
compared to a destructive worm, but all his dark side of life is hidden under his good looking and
charming nature. What is important about this poem is the manner in which the speaker reminds the
young man about his bad behavior and draws examples that makes him feel sorry about what he does
behind his good looking nature. By the use of diction, imagery, diction, images, metaphors and other
figures of speech, such as tone of voice, allusions, syntax and structure of the speech, the speaker
warns the young man against his sexual immorality, and reminds him that there are detrimental risks
associated with his behavior if he does not change.
In the first quadrant, the speaker examines both sides of the young man s life where he looks at the
darker and better sides but most importantly demonstrating the way he misuses his good looking
ability to commit sexual crimes. However, the speaker does not condemn it openly but appreciates his
good look how sweet and lovely (1), but

Would you manipulate your blood by doping if it could increase your athletic performance? There are
numerous stimulants to increase athletic performance such as caffeine, pre workout supplements,
steroid use but most of these drugs are rudimentary dietary supplements. Your cardiac output and
stroke volume are what you re born with and basically impossible to manipulate to higher values.
However, variables such as blood volume and hemoglobin concentration can be manipulated. One of
the most unique methods to increase your athletic performance is blood doping. Defined by the World

Mental Healthcare in America
Mental Health Care and the American Social System
American history is littered with tails of reform and revolution. Earlier on in America s young life,
revolution included war, struggle for basic human rights and dignity as well as radical tactics taken by
the public. As time went on Americans learned that revolution and reform could occur through the
government systems that our forefathers had put in place. The battle for human rights has all but
ended but the way in which Americans wage war is a different story altogether. Now American s fight
for better public healthcare, equal rights for homosexual individuals and couples, and stricter
standards for social welfare programs.

With her endless efforts, Dorothea Dix succeeded in helping create a congressional bill regarding the
government s role in mental health care. Unfortunately after the bill had been passed by both houses,
President Franklin Pierce vetoed the proposal. Even though Ms. Dix did not see the bill she created

for the mentally handicapped and blind (Marshall, 1937). Dorothea also helped establish several
training facilities for nurses and established libraries in numerous prisons across the nation. Though
Dorothea Dix was considered to be ahead of her time, the efforts she made and her accomplishments
were key in establishing a better mental health care system in America.
Another great advocate for the mentally ill in America was a man named Clifford Beers. This Yale

Examples Of Analogy In Teaching
1.0 Introduction
Definition: An analogy is a comparison between one thing and another, usually for the purpose of
explanation or interpretation. It is similar to metaphor and simile; they are usually used in
conversation to relate one situation to other.
According to (Heick, 2014) other than conversational analogy there are analogies, which are formal
analogies, used in teaching. They usually are called academic analogies. These analogies are the
research based tool for teaching in science class rooms. It can also be used in text books and web

which makes sense of the concepts to the students. This also helps them to understand easily than
normal explanation. Especially, the students from primary and lower primary are getting to know of
the science concept for the first time. Analogies make the subject interesting to the students from the
age group of 5 to 12. In Maldives, National Institute of Education has implemented key stage 1 and 2

Nature Of The Work Force
Some of the most important internal forces for change according to Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey
(2013) are:
Nature of the Work Force
Change of Managers
Deficiencies in Existing Management Structure and Procedures.
To Avoid Developing Inertia
The nature of work force varies across generations and this drives the organizations to change as well.
As an example, the new generation workers have better education, which in some cases leads to
questioning the manager s authority. Since they are working in diversity teams there are stronger
emphasis on human values. (Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey, 2013). According to Erskine (2013), the
workforce also becomes more diverse (more women and older people are involved). Their research
also shows that the younger workers tend to be more loyal to themselves, rather than the company
they are working for. This forces organizations to adapt to the rapid workforce turnover and change
their promotional policies.
Change of the managers is the other important force that causes organization to change. When the new
managers, replace the old ones, they usually come with some new ideas and work style. All these
leads to wide variety of changes from changing relationships to
changing organization structure or
workflow process as a whole (Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske, 2012).
The deficiencies in the management structure and procedures are other powerful force for
organizational change. One specific example of these deficiencies are the larger

Modern Alchemy 1st Term Paper: The Philosopher s Stone
Thesis: In this paper, I will describe the history of the early alchemists quest for the Philosopher s
Stone, their ultimate and inevitable failure, and today s views and misunderstandings of alchemy and
the stone as a result of their actions.
If one simply purified god enough, the result would be the stone Unknown
Introduction
Lapis Philosophorum, the elixir of life, the white stone by the river, or drinkable gold The Philosopher
s Stone is a legendary material, purportedly capable of turning cheap metals into gold, curing any
illness, and bestowing immortality. The pursuit of its creation was nearly synonymous with alchemy
for centuries and it was out of these attempts that modern science was born. How did the stone
become an alchemical obsession and why was its creation ultimately abandoned? How has the stone
marked the history of alchemy and what does modern society think of both the stone ... Show more

Powers of the Stone
The first great allure of the Philosopher s Stone is the power to change common metals into gold. The
secret of infinite wealth would explain why those who sought it shrouded their research in mystery.
The second supreme power of the stone was its ability to cure illness and extend lifespan. All
infirmities might be cured, human life prolonged to its utmost limits, and mankind preserved in health
and strength of body and mind, clearness and vigour. All wounds are healed by it without difficulty,
and it is the best and surest remedy against poisons Whether or not it could bestow immortality was

Observation And Analysis Of Hispanic Infant Essay
OBSERVATION AND ANALYSIS OF HISPANIC INFANT OR TODDLER 2
I) Introduction
Tre is the pseudonym the parents chose for the anonymity of this youth. Tres means three in Spanish
but was shortened to Tre because he happens to be the third generation with his father s name. Tre was
born in 2012 into a mixed family, the father is a full blooded Hispanic and the mother is a Caucasian
woman, but Tre definitely takes after his father. Tre now looks very similar to the pictures that his
parents presented of the father when he was the same age. Prior to this observation research was done
into the developmental stage of a three year old and upon observation Tre seems to fit into the normal
progressive state that any child of three would go through. He s smart, imaginative, creative, not at all
shy, and seems to be well mannered, but maybe a little spoiled. Tre was the first baby born and also
the first male born into this family in 14 years. Desi has a little girl born from a prior relationship who
is now 5. Lucy also has three girls of her own from a previous marriage. Lucy is even lucky enough to
be a grandmother at 40 years of age to one child with a second on the way. Desi and Lucy are the
parents of Tre and who where in the room when the observation of Tre took place and they were the
caregivers later interviewed. Lucy is the sibling of a co worker as this was the interviewers first ever
contact with the couple; the co worker accompanied the interviewer to make things a little more

The Negative Impact Of Social Media
The advent of technology has transformed the world into a global village where information is easily
accessible. Many say that social media negatively affects how people get their news, but it is clear that
social media has influenced news distribution and access, especially breaking news. Social networks,
online publishing, and search engines have reduced the production and distribution of information.
The approach is cheap and has a wider audience compared to the traditional means of news coverage.
Social networks have transformed the relationship between the mainstream media and blogs (Harner).
The mainstream media have adopted social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, and blogging.
Social media can add a positive aspect to the individual s life, as it raises issues that affect society,
enhances life, and provides moral support. Matthew Arnold says that journalism is literature in a
hurry, as social media such as Facebook and Twitter has quickened news delivery (Anderson). Social
networks are relied on by society in delivering breaking news, uniting society, and sharing the plight
that befell the people. Moreover, people can get the news on their electronic gadgets such as mobile
phones, tablets, or laptops, which are convenient, unlike TVs and newspapers. Communication is
dynamic and evolving. In essence, social networking is the best mechanism that people use in news
delivery. The social networking sites enhances communication and conversation among the users.

Animal Observation
Over the summer, I went to an amusement park with my family. This park is not only known for its
rides and roller coasters, but also for the animal attractions. After a long day of riding roller coasters,
we decided to go see the dolphin show. As we made our way to see the dolphin show, we passed by
different animal attractions. The penguins that I once thought were adorable and lively, looked
miserable, as they waddled in a dense space. Then I passed by a tank with two dolphins, I noticed that
their skin, which was suppose to be delicate and rubbery, looked rough and damaged. Prior to this
visit, I had been to the parks many times, but never had I felt the way I did that day. .
We arrived at the stadium and I took a seat. There were hundreds

`` Night `` By Elie Wiesel
Robert Shapiro, an American civil litigator once said, To me, the Holocaust stands alone as the most
horrible human event in modern civilization, The Holocaust, a genocide led by Adolf Hitler, killed six
million jews, and dramatically affected the whole world. The memoir Night, written by Elie Wiesel
describes the brutality Wiesel experienced during the Holocaust, and how life changing it was.
Although some may believe the memoir written by Elie Wiesel was titled Night because he was forced
to leave his home during the night, Wiesel illustrates Jews losing hope, faith, and happiness through
the symbol of Night, to prove that the memoir was titled Night to symbolize the darkness the
holocaust created. The first darkness that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wiesel then gave up, he figured there was no longer a chance that he could be saved which again led
to darkness. Is this example, the darkness the night brings symbolises loss of hope, and becoming
closer to death. Once Wiesel gave up trying, and claimed it was over, the light in his life got slightly
dimmer, and he became closer to death. The next reason Night was the title of the memoir written by
Wiesel was because the darkness in night symbolized death. Thousands of Jews were sentenced to
death each day, leaving everybody a little more hurt and broken. The first example of death, that helps
portray the title of Night, is in the quote, Was there a single place here where you were not in danger
of death? (Wiesel 37). In this quote, Wiesel shows how dangerous and recurrent death was and bases
the title off of these dangerous, mass killings. Darkness commonly symbolizes death, and the pain and
suffering one feels being exposed to it. The symbol also helps show that the killings were not normal,
they were darker like the night, more evil and inhumane than anything they had previously
experienced. The title Night, symbolizes the darkness during this painful event, and the darkness
universally symbolizes evil. So by using the title Night, Wiesel is able to indirectly explain how
inhumane these mass killings really are. Another quote that shows the title is used to symbolize

Faith And Faith In The Film The Book Of Eli
In this essay, I will discuss my opinions and knowledge based on the film The Book of Eli. Discussing
particularly the questions how faith plays into the ethical decisions regarding life and death. I do
believe Eli was justified in defending the weak by killing the strong. Eli used his faith for protection,
he fought against evil along with doing more for others than for himself. Throughout the whole film,
God and faith is strongly seen. To begin, I will discuss what role faith plays in.
When Eli is faced with conflict his actions may be seen unethical but I see it as protection. Since the
setting is post apocalyptic America, there is only so much you can do to protect yourself. The other

Who Is The Hero Of The Hobbit
1. Who is the hero of The Hobbit?
J.R.R Tolkien s The Hobbit or There and Back Again implements many forms of heroism; whether it
be Bilbo, Bard, Gandalf, or even Thorin and his dwarves. Relating to this, there is no one hero per se
but rather multiple; the heroes face both internal and external challenges. This essay will argue that the
heroes of The Hobbit are Bilbo, Gandalf, Bard and Thorin respectively, in addition, this essay will also
analyse the first stage of the hero s journey structure according to Joseph Campbell regarding Bilbo.
Firstly, the main protagonist Bilbo Baggins sets a benchmark to the notion of an archetype hero.
Kennedy, Gioia and Bauerlein describe an archetype as a recurring symbol, character, landscape, or ...

Just as Campbell notes, the figure encounters a series of dangers, in this case being the trolls, the
goblins, escaping from Gollum and going into Smaug s lair. With assistance from Gandalf the group is
saved from the goblins; however, the dwarves and Bilbo are separated. The interaction between
Gollum and Bilbo demonstrates a quality trait exhibited by a hero and, as a result, Bilbo s actions are
seen to outweigh his individual characteristics. Simultaneously, Bilbo displays wisdom in answering
Gollum s riddles and in turn exhibits cunning; Bilbo seeing what had happened and having nothing
better to ask stuck to his question (74). In the same way, Bilbo s adventure is seen according to Pearce
as a pilgrimage of grace in which he grows up (3). Therefore, Bilbo s main goal of his adventure
according to Pearce is to eliminate evil amongst themselves (3); thus, identifying an internal quest.
Particularly after Smaug s death, the corruption of the gold leads the dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield
to suffer from dragon sickness; the obsessive possessiveness of dragons (Pearce 83). The actions of
Bilbo and internal qualities such as wisdom and cunning thus concludes that he is a hero in The
Hobbit, however, other characters exhibit heroic qualities.
Gandalf henceforth can also be depicted as the hero of the story, heroism therefore can be determined
by actions. Moreover, his role as the

The Characteristics Of Jesus Christ And The Counseling World
The world is full of counselors, therapists, psychologist, and many more mental help specialists but
what can be difficult is attempting to discover what makes a counselor great. It can be agreed upon
that some of the characteristics that make up a great counselor include, but are not limited to: empathy,
compassion, being nonjudgmental, trust, confidentiality, and commitment. These are all traits of Jesus
Christ who is referred to as the Great Counselor. It has taken the mental health industry decades to
even begin to reach the place Jesus reached in His three years of ministry. By comparing Jesus and the
counseling world one can see why Jesus is referred to as the Great Counselor and where the
counseling world does well in helping individuals but still falls short. Throughout the Bible we hear
Jesus refered to as the Great Counselor, that He is the Messiah, the Great Healer. The Bible does not
merely claim this but later shows the statements to be true during Jesus ministry. While Jesus was
alive on this earth He was criticized for who He chose to spend time with tax collectors and sinners,
the rejects of the society and although Jesus was seen as above them He did not judge them. Instead
He says to the Pharisees questioning Him in Mark 2:13 17, Those who are well have no need of a
physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners (New International
Version). This passage is clearly referring to salvation but it can also be taken

Stop Up Toilet Research Paper
The primary thing ought to do when confronting a stopped up toilet is making inquiries. Do you have
any young children? Would they be able to have tossed a little toy down the toilet? Is this a typical

hauling it out? It is best for you to answer me now, at that point for me to squander a large portion of a

The Enlargement Of Nato And European Union
Eastern Europe has never had a stable political atmosphere compared to the Western countries, which
can be observed as a major threat to any MNC trying to penetrate this market. Most of these countries
were under a communist regime and have gained their independence rather recently (Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Serbia, and Macedonia became independent in early 1990 s, by separating from
Yugoslavia, and Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus gained their independence in 1991, with the fall of
Soviet Union). The influence of communistic philosophy, therefore, can explain the difficulties these
countries were facing when they tried to integrate and approach the West.
Even though the enlargement of NATO and European Union was a strategic move to make a political
and economic reform in this particular region, which would help it in a better integration with western
countries, the recent rise of nationalist and populist forces in several countries in eastern Europe,
threatens to undermine the reform process. [1] Happenings such as the Orange Revolution in 2004 and
Crimea crisis in 2014 in Ukraine, or the authoritarian ruling style by the Belarus president Aleksandr
Lukasenko (who still sustains close political and economic ties with Russia and bans political and civil
freedom in the country) are solid indicators of an ongoing political instability in this area. On the other
hand, countries such as Romania (which also had a rocky history of decades long dictatorship of
Nicolai Ceausescu),

How Cultural and Society Changes, Changed Our Views of Vampires. Ever since my middle school
friend introduced me to Twilight, I have been obsessed with vampires. With my obsession came a
need to share my interest with other people. After my friends got sick of listening to my constant
chatter about vampires, I turned to my mom to talk about my interest. When I told my mom about
modern day vampires, she laughed and told me that the creatures I was talking about were not
vampires. She said that vampires are bloodthirsty evil beings that are not handsome and certainly not
sparkly. Through my conversation with my mother, I found out that the views of vampires have
changed greatly throughout generations. I found that cultural and societal changes that occur
throughout history has changed our image and perspectives of vampires. The vampires many people
image today are very different to those imagined in olden times. According to Michael Molina from
the Vampire: Folklore, Fantasy and Fact video, many ancient societies had myths of vampire like
monsters. For example the Mesopotamians had myths about a creature called Lamashtu that drank
blood, had a lion s head and a donkey s body. The Ancient Greeks also had myths about a creature that
were described as blood thirsty birds called Striges. These ancient creatures differed greatly from
different societies, but they shared one common characteristic: they all fed off of living organism
(Molina). As the years went by, many of

The argument here is based on the premise that in today s day and age where we share much

What Is The Importance Of Gender And Sexuality In African...
In African American studies, the scholarship of gender and sexuality is largely based in the intellectual
tradition that grew out of the civil rights movements of the 1960s and 1970s. With a discourse that
historically examines the behaviors, conditions, and attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles
based on class oppression, sex, and gender identity as social constructs found to be inextricably bound
together, the inclusion of gender and sexuality in African American studies reaches back to include the
work of such diverse social and cultural activists as Anna Julia Cooper, Ida B. Wells, and Sojourner
Truth. Working to situate the rights of all black people in a place of woman inclusive equality, the
scholarship moves forward through the work of activist intellectuals that include Elise Johnson
McDougald, and Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, who urged political action for black women as a form
of physical and political protection. Moving forward, the fight for academic inclusion of African
American studies broadened the examination of race, gender, and sexuality beyond the feminism that
writer Alice Walker suggests emphasizes women s natural contribution to society (Walker, 2005).

Jesus died so that heterosexual and homosexual sinners might be saved. Jesus created sexuality, and

His will is that a man might leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and that the two

The new thing new for America, and new for history is not homosexuality. That brokenness has been
here since we were all broken in the fall of man. (And there is a great distinction between the

What s new is not even the celebration and approval of homosexual sin. Homosexual behavior has

institutionalization. This is the new calamity.

Forest has many advantages to human life and the earth as the lungs of the world. In the economic
field, the forestry sector contributes significantly to the national income accounts. The high price of
timber in international market leds to timber exploitation in the early 90 s [S. Syarif, et.al, 2012]. It
encourages illegal logging actifity, which causes adverse effects especially on the economy and
ecology fields. In the economic field, the state revenues declined due to the loss of timber tax and the
chance to produce the high quality products of timber also decreased. In addition, the nature inbalance
causes climate change, declining soil productivity, soil erosion and flooding, habitat destruction, and
loss of biodiversity. To solve the problems, the illegal logging detection system is urgently needed. In
this research, image processing and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) are applied for the detection.

Sadly, there is no way to alleviate the numerous amounts of threats that haunt networks and computers
worldwide. The foundation and framework for choosing and implementing countermeasures against
them are very important. A written policy is vital in helping to insure that everyone within the
organization understands and behaves in an appropriate manner with regards to the fact that sensitive
data and the security of software should be kept safe. When a security policy is developed, it should be
well defined and the information in it should be clear and plainly understand and the objectives should
be well defined so that there will be no confusion. Conversely, a data system with security policies is
probably going to have an assortment of countermeasures that address a range of threats. Policies,
standards, guidelines, and coaching materials that are known to be obsolete and not enforced could be
dangerous to a corporation due to the data being outdated. As a result, management is basically drawn
into thinking that security policies do exist within the organization when actually that is not the case.
Counter measures which are outdated does not do an organization any good because without the
appropriate patches in place, the organization s network could have holes which would leave them

  • 2. The Physics of Archery Essay The Physics of Archery There are not many activities out there that relax and soothe me quite like shooting my bow. It is not as simple as it sounds though, just pulling on the string, releasing the string, and watching the arrow fly towards your target. There are a number of aspects that must be taken into consideration when trying to shoot a bow and arrow efficiently, this is where we will get into the physics of archery. There are two main things to consider when looking at archery and the physics concepts behind it. First there is the bow, which basically is a device that uses human force over a distance and converts that into stored Mechanical Potential Energy. The second factor involves that stored Mechanical Energy being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The materials that construct the Recurve bow must be taken into consideration when looking at the force applied from the bow. The most popular material for traditional archers today would have to be a certain type of wood from the yew tree. The reason for this particular choice of wood is that it contains the highest elastic energy storage per unit mass for any type of wood, which is around 700 Jkg 1. Which is very close to having the same rating as spring steel. However with technology these days more people are leaning towards a type of carbon fiberglass laminate. This particular combination brings both a lighter weight than wood and a higher elasticity rating. The reason some wood bows are still around is due to the fact the old timer traditional type archers shun using any kind of technology or advancements to aid them in shooting their bows. The material of the strings also needs to be taken into consideration, this is so because the string mass needs to be kept as low as possible for obvious reasons with efficiency and speed of the bow. Another thing to be looked at would be the Draw Weight or Draw Force of the bow, which basically is how much weight or force is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. A Farewell Of Arms By Ernest Hemingway In his novel A Farewell to Arms Ernest Hemingway wrote, We re going to have a strange life. (D). His life was not ordinary by any means; he became the voice of his generation with his poignant works capturing the emotions of the American people after World War I. In his novel A Farewell to Arms Ernest Hemingway attempts to demonstrate through the characters of Frederic Henry and Rinaldi the feelings of horror and disillusionment the people of the Modern era tried to escape. Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899, in the suburbs of Chicago to a middle class family. As the oldest of six children, Hemingway was very close with his mother even though he often disagreed with her values (Shuman, R. Baird 897). Hemingway s passion for the outdoors was instilled in him at a young age when his family would spend summers in the woods of northern Michigan ( Hemingway, Ernest ). After graduating from Oak Park High School in 1917, Hemingway decided to continue doing what he loved instead of going to college; he began working for The Kansas City Star as a reporter where he began to develop his unique writing style (Shuman, R. Baird 897). After the newspaper ran an article about the war, Hemingway decided to enlist ( Hemingway, Ernest ). Hemingway was disappointed when he was quickly rejected by the U.S. Army because of his poor eyesight; determined to help Hemingway joined the Red Cross and was sent to the Italian Austrian front as an ambulance driver ( Ernest ... • 5. Jefferson Memorial and the Pantheon Essays Jefferson Memorial and the Pantheon The Jefferson Memorial is a testimonial to the past, present, and future of the United States. Its architecture, like most neo Classical buildings, gives a sense of permanence. This permanence has a history far older than many would suspect. Centuries ago and thousands of miles away a building was erected that would later become the model for which many other buildings, including the Jefferson Memorial, are based upon. This building is the Roman Pantheon. Though the Jefferson Memorial borrows the basic form and elements from the Pantheon, the Memorial has distinctive differences from its predecessor. The Memorial is located in Washington, DC in an area of the city known as The Mall (Weeks, AIA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a grave mistake though, to believe that the Memorial is only a copy of the Roman model. No, the Jefferson Memorial is quite unique, and has distinctive differences from the Pantheon. The Pantheon was built in Rome under the patronage of Emperor Hadrian between 125 and 128 CE. It was originally raised on a podium but that has long been covered up by centuries of dirt and debris (Stokstad, Art History, pg. 263). Its facade was made to resemble a typical Greek or Roman temple but behind this porch lies a giant rotunda, or circular building. It has 20 foot thick walls that raise 75 feet high . . . and support a huge, round, bowl shaped dome, 143 feet in diameter and 143 feet from the floor at its summit (Stokstad, pg263 264). Like most Roman buildings, the Pantheon s surface consists of marble. Beneath the marble veneer lies internal brick arches and concrete that support the dome. The walls form a structural drum that holds up the dome. These structural elements are disguised by a wealth of architectural detail columns, exedrae, pilasters and entablatures in two tiers (Stokstad, pg. 264). The design of simple repetition of square against a circle . . . established on a large scale by the juxtaposition of the rectilinear portico against the rotunda (Stokstad, pg. 264 265). This repetition of square on circle is also repeated in the interior of the building. The floor also shows the motif of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the years between 1949 and 1961, about 2.5 million people fled from East to West Germany , including steadily rising numbers of skilled workers, professionals and intellectuals(1). Their lost threatened to destroy the economic viability of East German. In response, East Germany built a barrier to close off East German s access to West Berlin ( and hence West Germany). • 7. How Does Gilgamesh Relate To Immortality Athanasia: Human Impermanence and the Journey for Eternal Life in the Epic of Gilgamesh Will you too die as Enkidu did? Will grief become your food? Will we both fear the lonely hills, so vacant? I now race from place to place, dissatisfied with whereever I am and turn my step toward Utnapishtim, godchild of Ubaratutu (Jackson Gilgamesh Tablet IX 4 9) Gilgamesh so much feared death that he threw away his honor as a warrior in order to obtain immortality. For centuries there have existed individuals who yearn for everlasting life. A journey that so many have traversed, but have failed in the attempt. The life that he once lived is shattered into pieces and he finds it difficult to return to his former glorious self; this is the first time in Gilgamesh s life that he has ever felt the emotions of fear. Gilgamesh is afraid to die. The inevitable fate that has plagued humanity for ages, death, has now become the greatest barrier that he must overcome. The immense scope that separates death from eternal life is breached, this crossover leads to a paramount connection between the supernatural and mortal universe. Gilgamesh, two thirds god, and one third human is left at the intermediary. His metamorphosis will establish a sense of restitution in his life. Along these lines, even though Gilgamesh existed thousands of years ago, he remains immortal in a sense that we still refer to him and his story (Sadigh 85). Enkidu is a primary character in the epic, his death dramatically changes the personality of Gilgamesh. His metamorphosis and death makes evident the innate rhythm of life, which represents the link that he has with nature. With love, and self realization, Enkidu eventually becomes a friend to Gilgamesh. Readers are able to see the merging of Gilgamesh s divine stature with Enkidu s wild nature, which in turn changes Enkidu from a simple beast to a figure that is larger than life (Harris 122). He essentially becomes an equal to Gilgamesh. Enkidu undergoes the following transformation: From the barbarian man that he once was, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pro Sports Persuasive Essay Tyell Bell English 142B $$$$ Primetime: Going For Broke $$$$ Why is it so common for pro athletes to become bankrupt subsequently after their retirement from the game or after being fired for poor performance? I mean let s face it we know all about the high paying jobs like becoming a doctor or lawyer, lead technician... yes these big time jobs everyone dreams of and assumes they will take care of your finances by itself. For the most part, this is true, actually it is very true. Any of the jobs I just mentioned will take care of you for the years to come and after that to the point where you will just have money to blow on anything. However, there is something bigger... much bigger, and that is in the billion dollar franchise of pro sports. There is unimaginable wealth and greed involved in this industry. Actually in some sports like the national football league the league minimum as of 2014 is a whopping and incredible 420k and that s just the first taste of money you will receive during your introduction year as a rookie, and trust me this number is growing outstandingly every year http://athletevsdoctorpay.blogspot.com/. • 9. Political Beliefs Of Alexander Hamilton Vs. Thomas Jefferson Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson Democracy is defined as, A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections (Merriam Webster). This means that the basis for American government is a firm belief in the common people that they have the knowledge and power to choose leaders to guide the government in the right direction. In the 1790s there was a monumental political debate over whether the constitution should be ratified and if in needed a bill of rights, and at the center of the debate was Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. While they both believed democracy was the best form of government for the new nation, both men had very different ideas about how to shape the government and its entities. Thomas Jefferson is the better spokesperson a democratic government because of his political beliefs and inherent belief in human reason, a conviction that is not held by Alexander Hamilton. Thomas Jefferson was a enthusiastic supporter of American democracy through his support for the anti federalist and belief that the citizens had the capacity to choose a leader. Jefferson s party, the anti federalists, would only endorse the constitution if there was also a bill of rights written. They wanted to protect civil liberties of the everyday farmer. Animal Farm Or Ussr Part II Cliffy Smith James Hensley Pre IB LA 10 10 April 2015 Animal Farm or USSR Part II Animal Farm written by George Orwell is a hopeful novel about a group of animals that overthrow their farmer and create an animalistic government. Much like All the King s Men a novel by Robert Penn Warren, Animal Farm has strong political undertones relating to the the skewed government of Soviet Russia. Throughout the book many animal characters can be identified with the political leaders and influences throughout Soviet Russia. According to New World Encyclopedia, New Historicism is an approach to literary criticism and literary theory based on the premise that a literary work should be considered a product of the time, place, and historical circumstances of its composition rather than as an isolated work of art or text. Animal Farm and it s direct correlation with the USSR connects New Historicism and the impactful writing of Orwell with fluidity and ease. New Historicism is a criticism developed in the 1980 s by a Harvard English professor named Stephen Greenblatt. This criticism takes a look at every aspect of the story including the author s political and emotional bias. It was used to bring outside information and cultural context into the book and create a deeper meaning for the reader. New Historicism gained widespread influence in the 90 s through its new way for reading and analyzing a story. Judith Newton explains New Historicism as a criticism that aims to subject the ... In those 25 years, I have reported to many people. They have all formally held the title of Manager, but very few of them have been worthy of being called a Leader. By definition, a leader provides leadership. But then leadership itself, I suppose, is open for interpretation. Some would say a leader is one who simply gives orders and then verifies those orders have been completed. Others would say a leader is akin to the Oracle, sitting on their mountain, waiting for their followers to come and ask for pearls of wisdom, which are then handed out only to the worthy. I have ... Nature Of The Work Force Some of the most important internal forces for change according to Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey (2013) are: Nature of the Work Force Change of Managers Deficiencies in Existing Management Structure and Procedures. To Avoid Developing Inertia The nature of work force varies across generations and this drives the organizations to change as well. As an example, the new generation workers have better education, which in some cases leads to questioning the manager s authority. Since they are working in diversity teams there are stronger emphasis on human values. (Chitale, Mohanty and Dubey, 2013). According to Erskine (2013), the workforce also becomes more diverse (more women and older people are involved). Their research also shows that the younger workers tend to be more loyal to themselves, rather than the company they are working for. This forces organizations to adapt to the rapid workforce turnover and change their promotional policies. Change of the managers is the other important force that causes organization to change. When the new managers, replace the old ones, they usually come with some new ideas and work style. All these leads to wide variety of changes from changing relationships to changing organization structure or workflow process as a whole (Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske, 2012). Is this example, the darkness the night brings symbolises loss of hope, and becoming closer to death. Once Wiesel gave up trying, and claimed it was over, the light in his life got slightly dimmer, and he became closer to death. The next reason Night was the title of the memoir written by Wiesel was because the darkness in night symbolized death. Thousands of Jews were sentenced to death each day, leaving everybody a little more hurt and broken. The first example of death, that helps portray the title of Night, is in the quote, Was there a single place here where you were not in danger of death? (Wiesel 37). In this quote, Wiesel shows how dangerous and recurrent death was and bases the title off of these dangerous, mass killings. Darkness commonly symbolizes death, and the pain and suffering one feels being exposed to it. The symbol also helps show that the killings were not normal, they were darker like the night, more evil and inhumane than anything they had previously experienced. The interaction between Gollum and Bilbo demonstrates a quality trait exhibited by a hero and, as a result, Bilbo s actions are seen to outweigh his individual characteristics. Simultaneously, Bilbo displays wisdom in answering Gollum s riddles and in turn exhibits cunning; Bilbo seeing what had happened and having nothing better to ask stuck to his question (74). • 32. The Enlargement Of Nato And European Union Eastern Europe has never had a stable political atmosphere compared to the Western countries, which can be observed as a major threat to any MNC trying to penetrate this market. Most of these countries were under a communist regime and have gained their independence rather recently (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Macedonia became independent in early 1990 s, by separating from Yugoslavia, and Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus gained their independence in 1991, with the fall of Soviet Union). The influence of communistic philosophy, therefore, can explain the difficulties these countries were facing when they tried to integrate and approach the West. Even though the enlargement of NATO and European Union was a strategic move to make a political and economic reform in this particular region, which would help it in a better integration with western countries, the recent rise of nationalist and populist forces in several countries in eastern Europe, threatens to undermine the reform process. [1] Happenings such as the Orange Revolution in 2004 and Crimea crisis in 2014 in Ukraine, or the authoritarian ruling style by the Belarus president Aleksandr Lukasenko (who still sustains close political and economic ties with Russia and bans political and civil freedom in the country) are solid indicators of an ongoing political instability in this area. On the other hand, countries such as Romania (which also had a rocky history of decades long dictatorship of Nicolai Ceausescu), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. How Cultural And Society Changes, Changed Our Views Of... How Cultural and Society Changes, Changed Our Views of Vampires. Ever since my middle school friend introduced me to Twilight, I have been obsessed with vampires. With my obsession came a need to share my interest with other people. After my friends got sick of listening to my constant chatter about vampires, I turned to my mom to talk about my interest. When I told my mom about modern day vampires, she laughed and told me that the creatures I was talking about were not vampires. She said that vampires are bloodthirsty evil beings that are not handsome and certainly not sparkly. Through my conversation with my mother, I found out that the views of vampires have changed greatly throughout generations. I found that cultural and societal changes that occur throughout history has changed our image and perspectives of vampires. The vampires many people image today are very different to those imagined in olden times. According to Michael Molina from the Vampire: Folklore, Fantasy and Fact video, many ancient societies had myths of vampire like monsters. For example the Mesopotamians had myths about a creature called Lamashtu that drank blood, had a lion s head and a donkey s body. The Ancient Greeks also had myths about a creature that were described as blood thirsty birds called Striges. These ancient creatures differed greatly from different societies, but they shared one common characteristic: they all fed off of living organism (Molina). As the years went by, many of ... The argument here is based on the premise that in today s day and age where we share much information online on sites like Google and Facebook we have to admit that there is a certain amount of privacy we hold dear that is being taken away from us through such activities as cookie tracking and preferential scanning of content and the fact that this leads to embarrassment when on public computers. The fact that Charlie was zeroed in on based on a cursory perceptive judgment speaks volumes of how little information can go a long way in ostracizing a person. Do we really believe that a loner is more prone to AIDS than a college going easy go lucky chap. Also, the ostracizing of the person blamed will evidently have repercussions. Are these necessary? • 35. What Is The Importance Of Gender And Sexuality In African... In African American studies, the scholarship of gender and sexuality is largely based in the intellectual tradition that grew out of the civil rights movements of the 1960s and 1970s. With a discourse that historically examines the behaviors, conditions, and attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on class oppression, sex, and gender identity as social constructs found to be inextricably bound together, the inclusion of gender and sexuality in African American studies reaches back to include the work of such diverse social and cultural activists as Anna Julia Cooper, Ida B. Wells, and Sojourner Truth. Working to situate the rights of all black people in a place of woman inclusive equality, the scholarship moves forward through the work of activist intellectuals that include Elise Johnson McDougald, and Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, who urged political action for black women as a form of physical and political protection. Moving forward, the fight for academic inclusion of African American studies broadened the examination of race, gender, and sexuality beyond the feminism that writer Alice Walker suggests emphasizes women s natural contribution to society (Walker, 2005). While women were the focus of the thrust of the second wave feminist movement, which worked toward social goals of female bodily freedoms such as birth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I pray that it s some help to you too. So Called Same Sex Marriage: Lamenting the New Calamity by John Piper Jesus died so that heterosexual and homosexual sinners might be saved. Jesus created sexuality, and has a clear will for how it is to be experienced in holiness and joy. His will is that a man might leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and that the two become one flesh (Mark 10:6 9). In this union, sexuality finds its God appointed meaning, whether in personal physical unification, symbolic representation, sensual jubilation, or fruitful procreation. What s new is not even the celebration and approval of homosexual sin. Homosexual behavior has been exploited, and reveled in, and celebrated in art, for millennia. What s new is normalization and institutionalization. This is the new calamity. My main reason for writing is not to mount a political counter assault. I don t think that is the calling of the church as such. My reason for writing is to help the church feel the sorrow of these days. And the magnitude of the assault on God and his image in man. INTRODUCTION Forest has many advantages to human life and the earth as the lungs of the world. In the economic field, the forestry sector contributes significantly to the national income accounts. The high price of timber in international market leds to timber exploitation in the early 90 s [S. Syarif, et.al, 2012]. It encourages illegal logging actifity, which causes adverse effects especially on the economy and ecology fields. In the economic field, the state revenues declined due to the loss of timber tax and the chance to produce the high quality products of timber also decreased. In addition, the nature inbalance causes climate change, declining soil productivity, soil erosion and flooding, habitat destruction, and loss of biodiversity. To solve the problems, the illegal logging detection system is urgently needed. In this research, image processing and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) are applied for the detection. Nowadays, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sadly, there is no way to alleviate the numerous amounts of threats that haunt networks and computers worldwide. The foundation and framework for choosing and implementing countermeasures against them are very important. A written policy is vital in helping to insure that everyone within the organization understands and behaves in an appropriate manner with regards to the fact that sensitive data and the security of software should be kept safe. When a security policy is developed, it should be well defined and the information in it should be clear and plainly understand and the objectives should be well defined so that there will be no confusion. Conversely, a data system with security policies is probably going to have an assortment of countermeasures that address a range of threats. Policies, standards, guidelines, and coaching materials that are known to be obsolete and not enforced could be dangerous to a corporation due to the data being outdated. As a result, management is basically drawn into thinking that security policies do exist within the organization when actually that is not the case. Counter measures which are outdated does not do an organization any good because without the appropriate patches in place, the organization s network could have holes which would leave them extremely vulnerable.
