Women Are Not Objects For Women
Women are NOT Objects For as long as many can remember, women have had a difficult time
dealing with things that men have been able to do with ease. For example, throughout history, it
has always been said that men were the only ones allowed to vote for their future president,
whereas women were not. Another example was back in the 60 s when women were advertised
with sexist jobs such as being house wives while men were to be treated courteously (Sex Appeals
in Advertising). With that said, when women were getting noticed a lot more, many men found it
difficult to accept that since men basically ruled over women. However, currently, the laws and
regulations that women have are completely different than how they were before but women are
still fighting a common trend that occurs throughout the entire world. Women are seen as sexual
objects to men when they desire pleasure which allows for men to control the situation. Therefore,
should women be objectified as sexual objects and caregivers whereas males not so much? I will be
answering that throughout this essay.
With that said, I will be arguing two things; the first being that women are not intended to be a
sexual object to bring a certain pleasure to men, and secondly the Catholic Church should not have
to justify that a woman s purpose in life is only to procreate a future life. With that said, I will be
focusing on two main authors. The first author goes by the name of Miguel De La Torre and his
book is called Doing

The Birth Of A Nation Essay
When I was watching the documentary the 13th and seeing everybody view on the War on
Drugs a movement, had me questing if the War on Drugs law were Racially Motivated by
President Nixon? Many people believe that the War on Drugs was literally a war on Blacks. In
1865 the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was pass. The amendment made it unconstitutional
for someone to be held as a slave. AKA it grants freedom for all Americans. Except criminals, but
here the problem after slave was ended African Americans had nowhere to go and could not get
jobs because they was uneducated. African Americans were arrested in masse, they were for
extremely minor crimes like loitering or vagrancy. People who were arrested was treated like slave

black as animal like and cannibalistic and as threat to white women as rapists. After the film

they were underappreciated in their communities. When watching the documentary I believe that
African Americans didn t do drugs for fun and I think they did it in way to make money to help

they were going through in the hands of the KKK and white supremacy who did not like back

Oedipus the King
The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle once identified the key ingredients of the tragedies that
his culture is so famous for. These ingredients include a character with a fatal flaw, the
realization of the fault for a particular problem and the final sudden reversal of fortune. For many
tragedies, the fatal flaw is demonstrated as excessive pride, which usually serves as the driving
force of the play s action. It is common, even beneficial, to have pride in oneself, but when it
becomes expressed as arrogance or in defiance of one s fate, it is considered excessive and often
leads men to engage in activities that will lead to their downfall. Aristotle (1998) stated the tragic
hero falls into bad fortune because of some flaw in his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the process of trying to avoid fate, he has committed some of the greatest sins imaginable to him
defiled his mother s bed, murdered his father and spawned monstrous children born of incest. Rather
than face the truth and unable to take the severe wound to his pride, Oedipus stabbed out his eyes
with broaches and walked away from Thebes forever, thereby sealing his doom through further
prideful actions. The sudden reversal of fortune has Oedipus walking away from Thebes a blind,
homeless beggar rather than the respected king he should have been based upon his more noble
qualities. While this is a surprise, it is nevertheless a logical possible conclusion to the events that
have taken place. This concept is brought out to greater extent in the film through the change in
setting. Pasolini begins and ends the film in a contemporary setting to when the film was made.
While the play suggests that Oedipus went wandering into the desert a self blinded beggar man, the
film indicates that he has been wandering a tortured individual for much longer than a normal
lifespan.
Thus, the elements of classic tragedy are carried throughout both play and film to slightly different
interpretations. In both, a fatal flaw within the character of Oedipus drives his actions that
eventually seal his own doom. Seen as it is throughout the various elements of the classic tragedian
format of first

The And Martin Luther King
hr and Martin Luther King were seekers of justice and embraced liberal protestant outlooks early
on. The similarities in their theology, while not surprising as King derived much of his material
from Niebuhr, proved to be uncanny in that they both concerned themselves with how the church
should operate within society, the way loveshould be implemented in the ethics of individuals, and
social change brought forth by nonviolence. Niebuhr s quest for justicewas in result to the horrific
events he witnessed in World War I and World War II. King s, on the other hand, was in result to
the economic and racial injustices he experienced. While the catalyst in each theologian s beliefs
differed, their shared views on justice, nonviolence to an extent, and God offer a resource for
Christians today in understanding their place in society.
Pertaining to the ideas of love and justice, Niebuhr prescribed to the belief that in order for
perfect justice to arise, the moral imagination of others must seek to meet the needs of fellow
individuals. Because The love of God is an impartial goodness beyond good and evil, true justice in
Niebuhr s mind will never be reached on earth. The Christian gospel which transcends all particular
and contemporary social situations can be preached with power only by a church which bears its
share of the burdens of immediate situations in which men are involved, burdens of establishing
peace, of achieving justice, and of perfecting justice in the spirit

Bob Dylan Impact on Society
Bob Dylan: An Impact on American Society in the 1960 s
Amy Blanton Professor Porter History 22
April 10, 2001
1 The 1960s was a decade of liberation for music, public opinion, dance, invention, and the binds of
racism. From this generation spawned some of the greatest musical artists of all time one in
particular, Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan is considered to be the greatest influence on popular culture of
all time. However, Bob Dylan was not born an idol his legacy was a result of his surroundings.
Throughout Bob Dylan s life, starting with his childhood, he has been somehow affected by various
historical events, such as the after shocks of the world wars, improvement of television and radio in
society, Kennedy s assassination, the Cuban ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bob Dylan, was becoming an increasingly popular musician. Despite Dylan s goal to become a
famous rock n roll star, he soon became known as a folk singer. Most of his influences were from
country, folk, and rhythm and blues. One of his biggest role models was folk musician Woody
Guthrie Bob even adopted Guthrie s Okie accent. That was the tradition of folk music borrowing
from other artists. Dylan
4 borrowed from just about every blues or folk performer he ever saw; the music belonged to no
one. 12 In 1961, Dylan s dreams were becoming a reality he was finally going to become a star.
Columbia Records offered Dylan a contract, and in March of 1962, he released his first album,
Bob Dylan, and his second, The Freewheelin Bob Dylan, in 1963. It was around this time that
Bob started writing his protest songs (also called finger pointing songs sincere expressions of
frustration towards leaders who opposed change13), in response to the beginning of the civil rights
movement. There are several catalysts that led up to the civil rights movement. The integration of
major league baseball in 1947 and Truman s proposal to integrate the armed forces were both
pawns in starting the movement. Also, the integration of schools in 1954 was a major event in
history; the Supreme Court ruled that separate but equal in schools was no longer tolerable. In the
next year, an event took place that would change the course of the movement. On December 1,
1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa

The Success Is The Accomplishment Of One s Goals
One of the meanings of the word success is the accomplishment of one s goals. Throughout our
lives we make a lot of goals because we want to be happy with ourselves. The majority of the time
we make a goal it s because we are motivated. We get ready to do anything it takes to accomplish
our goals because we believe we can. But people set aside their goals for numerous reasons. I
myself have set aside goals of my own numerous of times. The one goalthat seems to bother me
often is working out on a consistent basis because I feel that I am very unsuccessful in this
category. Working out is very important to me because It s something I wantto do for the rest of my
life. Not only does working out make me feel happy and productive, I care a lot about what my
body looks like. After reading Chapters One through Nine in Jeff Olson s The Slight Edge: Turning
Simple Disciplines into Massive Success Happiness, I have come to the realization of why people
who are capable of success, never see it. He explains that there are small things we can do daily
that will lead us to a life of success. In Chapter One The Beach Bum and The Millionaire Olson
calls these things, simple daily disciplines (10). For these past three weeks I have been religiously
practicing Olson s guidelines and my progress has been unsteady.
My first problem that I have encountered while trying to accomplish my goal is, after about a
week of my workouts I started losing motivation to continue every day. I felt

The Impact Of Native Schools On M Ж’Г„ Ori Society Essay
Discuss the impact of the introduction of native schools on MДЃori society.
The establishment of Native Schools around New Zealand in 1867 had many pulverizing effects
which exceeded the few benefits associated with having Native Schools. Native Schools were
fundamentally village day schools set up in rustic areas providing MДЃori children with European
education under the Native Schools Act 1867. Native Schools were managed to be a medium for
the State to gain social control over the MДЃori population and to assimilate MДЃori into civilised
law abiding citizens . This essay will investigate how the State promoted/pushed cultural
homogeneity through the education system at Native Schools as an approach to attain their ideal
outlook of Europeanising and gaining full control over the MДЃori population and their resources.
MДЃori and PДЃkehДЃ had very different aspirations for the establishment of Native Schools from
the very start (Bishop 1996:76). While MДЃori wanted to further enhance their knowledge to battle
the threat forced by the vicinity of PДЃkehДЃ the main focus of the State was merely to control
MДЃori society through assimilation (Simon 1998:106). The fact that MДЃori had to provide land
for which the school was to be built on, and to additionally pay for half the portion of the
development expenses of the school and one quarter of the teacher s wages demonstrates that the
setting up of native schools resulted in a financial burden to the MДЃori society (Duncan 2014).

Theme Of The 1960s Interior Design Ideas
1960s interior design theme
1960s decoration and designing ideas are very unique, they stood out by the end of the 1960s and
early 1970s. A series of colours became so popular and most used when it comes to wallpapers,
curtains, sofas, carpets, chairs and cushions such as Dark greens, yellows, pinks, and orange hues
with pattern or floral touch. As a very important influencing part in the 1960s interior design the
English designer David Hicks was mostly inspired by bright colours associated with India.[1]
Hicks was most known for using psychedelic patterns as well as acid edged colours which
became extremely common in the period 1967 1973 especially.[1] These designs got so popular
and wanted at the time when flower power reached the top. ... Show more content on

Penn State Needs to End Paterno’s Time in Power Essay
Penn State Needs to End Paterno s Time in Power
Joe Paterno has been at the helm of Penn State football since 1966. In the world of intercollegiate
sports it s hard to find a coach that has a tenure with the same institution for more than ten years. In
the past 37 seasons, Coach Paterno has won an astonishing 336 games, breaking Paul Bear Bryant s
record of 323 set at the University of Alabama. Besides obtaining the most wins in NCAA Division
1 A football, Paterno has two national championships (1982 and 1986) and a Big Ten conference
championship in 1994 (DeLassus). These great moments add to the tradition of Penn State football

Records weigh heavily in the highly competitive world of college football. Every season a coach
puts his career on the line and when games are lost, so is their job. Several coaches who have
had the same lack of success that Paterno has had lately have lost their jobs. Bob Davie was fired
from his job at Notre Dame after a 6 6 season record with the Irish in 2001. John Mackovic lost
his coaching position half way through his 2003 campaign with the Arizona Wildcats with a 30 34
win/loss record. These coaches don t match Paterno s career overall, but are equivalent in their last
five seasons with their respective programs.
Freeing the team from Joe Paterno allows them to find a coach that knows how to win football
games now. Paterno When you watch Joe at practice, he runs from drill to drill. He s extremely
smart. He s not detached (Dye). If Penn State has been playing so poorly and Paterno seems to
have so much control over the team at practices and on the field then doesn t a correlation stand
out? A concern on the minds of Penn State coaches, players, alumni, and thousands of other fans
is that even if Paterno retires would the Nittany Lions still lose? This is a possibility, but the
organization has to assess all the risks involved in a transition. A change in leadership is very
complicated, but the payoff can also be just as lucrative. Ohio State is a prime example of this type
of fortune. Long time coach John Cooper had been bringing the

Iago s Motives
In the story Othello, Iago is a very fascinating character. In many ways, he could be viewed as the
main character because of his amount of involvement in the story. His motives could be described
as being very similar to those of Charles Manson. His cunning use of words along with his ability
to relate to the other characters allow him to set up a trap for them that ultimately leads them to do
evil things. Iagois the most evil of all considerable villans because of his lack of reasoning, which
makes him an unresolvable villan.
It could be said that Iago thoroughly enjoys stirring the pot to create more drama. Iago is the

This information is so intrusive into Othello s mind that it actually spurs on short episodes of

Stephen Krashen s Theory Of Second Language Acquisition
This is the result of my observation based on those aspects:
1.Teacher s classroom management At that time, the condition of the classroom is noisy enough.
The girl students are more taciturn than the boy students. Most of the boy students are naughty, like
to disrupt other students, and less respect to the teacher. So, there are some ways which are done to
manage the class, they are:
a.Managing students to pay attention to the lesson The teacher tried to give attention by knocking
the whiteboard and said Students, please listen to me when the classroom became noisy.
b.Managing students who are having disruptive behavior If there is a student who disrupt other

A Summary Of The Lansdowne Athlete
December 6, 2017
Ancient sculptures bring on endless philosophical arguments regarding what is an appropriate
form of perfection, defined as a fit body guided by a keen mind. This paper will approach a
visual essence of the sculpture of The Lansdowne Athlete, by Lysippos, Rome 340 330 B.C.
marble after a bronze original, that I viewed at the LACMA. This sculpture is located in the left
wing of Greek exhibition Building, 3rd floor. I selected this sculpture as an example of an
idealized body. Therefore, I will be explaining the historical background of the sculpture and
address why I think it would make a good addition to our text. I will provide an analogy with
other sculpture of idealized body from our textbook chapter 12 on Mind and Body mainly. I will
impart more information about the essence of idealized human form as well as cultural ideals
during this time period in Greece.
The Lansdowne Athlete at the LACMA is an example of a well developed ideal body and
carefully controlled proportions to all body parts. This sculpture is a Roman copy of an original
by Lysippos made in the 1st century. It is a marble statue of 75inches in height. The figure is in the
contrapposto stance common of the style at the time and is taking a step forward. The figure still
has integrity even though it has a few missing parts. Its face, which is important, is more or less
intact and the standing upright with its impression of movement still visible. The missing arms, if

Character Analysis Of Sandra Bullock s The Blind Side
At the age of 45, Sandra Bullock won an Oscar award for the movie The Blind side in the year
2010. Sandra plays the role of Leigh Anne Tuohy, her character s heart is pure of kindness as she
took in Michael Oher, who she knew from the start was full of potential. But due to his skin
color, no one thought to believe it. She plays a middle class, average american mom who
believed in equality and acceptance. As she had a family of her own, she never failed to leave
Michael out of the picture. Her character is very strong and independent, and in my opinion kind
of stubborn but for a good cause. As many doubted Michael, Leigh used the kindness of her heart
to make sure Michael had a clear road to success, since his own birth mom wasn t capable of
doing it herself. This movie was based on a true story which I find astonishing and inspiring.
What filled me with anger though is just seeing how people were discriminated, and how many
did not stand up to be allies. But Leigh really opened up that passage way to equality that most
African American s never really experienced. She put out a clear message that not all white people
are cruel and racist. Fun fact: The real Leigh Anne Tuohydid an interview talking about her
experience and how it really encouraged many to stand up for what s right, and even the little
spontaneous moments can really impact someone s life, in a way you may not understand.
It s mindboggling, the 54 year old mother of three says. We realize we do have a mission. We
have the opportunity to change lives. If that sounds narcissistic, screw it. Racism is alive and
well in this country; we have to learn how to love someone who doesn t look like us. (Tuohy,
2015) She speaks with honesty and confidence, yet many still disagree with equality. Why hate

Assignment On Deleting Temporary File
Deleting temporary file
1.Deleting temporary files. You would first have to click Start and then you have to find the system
tools.
2.You would have to locate the disk clean up tool. You would first have to choose which disk you
want to clean up.
3.Then the tool will then calculate how much space it will be able to free up.
4.When this has finished the next window will show all the files you are able to delete. Then tick
the files you want to delete and click the OK button.
Building the network cable
So to make the cable you first will need to use the cutting tools, then to take the outer rubber off the
end of the cable. Then the next step is untwisting the wires and putting them back in the correct
order the following colours are:
1.Orange white
2.Orange
3.Green white
4.Blue
5.Blue white
6.Green
7.Brown white
8.Brown
So when the wires have been put into the correct order, you can trim the wires and then insert the
wires into the clip. You would then use the tool to clamp the wires into position so they do not fall
out of the clip.
No Screenshots to prove this but we done this in hari lesson for making a network cable.

Importance Of Anglo-Saxon Loyalty In Beowulf
The Anglo Saxons were an interesting people that were loyal to their lord. Each group had a
leader that commanded and directed the warriors. Loyalty was an important part of the Anglo
Saxons culture. In Beowulf, the Anglo Saxons were expected to remain loyal to their leader as he
was responsible for protecting them in battle. The leaders of the Anglo Saxonswere admired for
their courage and determination as they guided the group of warriors in their endeavors. In The
Wife s Lament , the wife remains loyal to her lord even though she is treated harshly by him. She
chased after him when he left, and continued to love him after he ostracized her. As evident in
Beowulfand The Wife s Lament , the Anglo Saxons greatly relied on a noble leader to protect
them from danger and direct them towards success; as a result, the followers were loyal to their
lord by showing reverence and admiration as well as honouring their legacy, even if the lord
neglected to fulfill his duties. Throughout their journey and various battles, Beowulf and Wiglaf
remained loyal to their lords. While in Denmark, Beowulf remains loyal to his king, Higlac, and
the other warriors remain loyal to Beowulf. During his formal boast, Beowulf told his men that
my hands shall fight for me as My lord Higlac, might think less of me (246 270) if he fought with
weapons. Beowulf wanted to impress his lord and not disappoint him in battle. He feared that he
would bring shame to his lord if he fought with weapons or

The Extinction Of Animals During The Devonian Period
During the Devonian period, most of the oceans were filled with stromatoporoids, brachiopods
and corals. The Devonian period gave rises to some of the first tetrapods, amphibians, sharks,
insects and boney fish. The first real land plants were also formed, giving rise to the first forest.
The first plants were only about a foot tall and had no roots or leaves. By the late Devonian,
plants had formed roots and leaves. The late Devonian Extinction was about 359 million years ago,
and about 20 percent of all animal families and about 70 percent of all animal species were killed.
Marine species and freshwater species such as ammonites, conodonts, benthic foraminifera suffered
the most extinction, whereas terrestrial species were hardly affected.

Joseph Stalin. One of the Russias most supreme leaders. But one of its most horrid as well. He

But others wish they never were led by him. He went from nothing to the most powerful man in the

The Pros And Cons Of Open Carry
The open presence of guns in public life can quickly escalate everyday conflicts into deadly
altercations. It has been one cause of tragic, irreversible damage to innocent lives of citizens
through the long US history. Despite the evidence that openly carrying firearms in public spaces
endangers public safety, most states lack laws to limit open carry and some have even taken
steps to weaken regulation regarding the practice. Historically, most states either prohibited or
strongly regulated the carrying of firearms in public spaces. Over the past three decades,
however, state laws have changed dramatically. In that time, many states have significantly
weakened their laws to permit more and more people to carry guns in public places and to reduce
or eliminate local law enforcement s ability to keep potentially dangerous people from carrying
guns in public. Open carry refers to the practice of carrying a firearmin public. It has been legal in
many states since the 19th century. Proponents of open carry claim that criminals usually conceal
their weapons in contrast to the law abiding citizens who display their sidearms. Also the regulation

Eternal Challenges throughout Life
Throughout the history of human development, almost every process brings benefits as well as
drawbacks, and social development is no exception. Residing in an efficient society, balancing
environment protection and social development can be quite a dilemma. As Anna Quindlen says
in the book , Our Animal Rites, You can t stop progress, especially if it s traveling 65 miles an
hour. people cannot put off social development. At the same time, the earth is where humans are
living and deserves more attention, since their environment has already been degrading. Both the
environment protection and social development are important, so when people are contemplating
possible solutions, considering the detrimental and beneficial impact on both sides is necessary.
Therefore, a lot of new challenges occur for they are not easily solved because there are always
conflicts in different solutions. Among all the challenges, economy and technology are the two
most significant out of all the challenges. Environmental problems caused by pesticides issues,
which alarmed people shockingly by the book Silence Spring, written by Rachel Carson, need to
be dealt with those two challenges. In the article A Fable for Tomorrow from the book Silence
Spring, Rachel Carson assumes the probable consequences of overusing pesticides. She imagines a
town where all life seemed to live in harmony with its surroundings. Then, an unknown disaster

The Fall of the House of Usher Analysis
The Fall of the House of Usher Review
The Fall of the House of Usher is a short story written by Edger Allan Poe in 1839. Almost
everything about the story is very gloomy, dark and depressing. For example, the house is
described by the narrator as the melancholy House of Usher and the description of Roderick
Usher himself makes you think of a corpse. This theme of dreariness and sorrow pervades the
story and is done to a very chilling effect, which really draws in the reader. The Fall of the House
of Usher has lots of necessary elements of a traditional Gothic tale: a dreary landscape, a haunted
house, mysterious characters, etc., but for all of these elements, the vagueness of the story is a
large part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt creeping upon me, by slow yet uncertain degrees, the wild influence of his own fantastic yet
impressive superstitions. This shows that, although he is an educated and analytical man, he is
susceptible to other influences. He tries to suppress his fears and help his friend throughout the
story and is successful until, at the very end, his fear finally overcomes him as Lady Madeline s
reappearance after her death is just too much for him and ends up driving him out the house. Edgar
Allan Poe creates a sensation of claustrophobia in this story. The narrator is mysteriously trapped
by Roderick s lure and his need to help his friend. He cannot escape until the house of Usher
collapses completely. The house, because of its deteriorated state and seemingly seclusion from
everything else, seems to take on a monstrous character of its own the Gothic mastermind that
controls the fate of its inhabitants. Edgar Allan Poe creates confusion between the living things and
inanimate objects by doubling the physical house of Usher with the genetic family line of the Usher
family, which he refers to as the house of Usher. It is even said in the story that the people of the
nearby village refer to both the actual house and the Usher family as the house of Usher which
reinforces the idea that they are the same thing. Poe employs the word house metaphorically, but

Liquidity Risk, Distinctions Between Asset Liquidity And...
Excusive summary
This report is designed to investigate liquidity risk, distinctions between asset liquidity and liability
liquidity management, as well as the main features of an effective liquidity management. In order to
gain insight of liquidity, there is a graph based on the liquidity ratio to analyze the liquidity risk of
four major banks in Australia and the advantages and disadvantages of the liquidity ratio.
Furthermore, it outlines how Basel III effects the banking liquidity management.
Introduction
In recent years, liquidity risk has become the public problem to the commercial banks. Bank for
International Settlement (2008) indicates that the most of bank failures happened with the reason
that the liquidity can not satisfy the demand, therefore, the liquidity risk is the most basic aspect
of risk management. Moreover, the production and implementation of Basel III is able to address
the liquidity risk effectively by applying two ratios which are LCR and NSFR.

1.1 define liquidity risk
Liquidity risk refers to the bank s ability to meet maturing obligations as deposits come due and
quick processing the assets into cash with minimum loss or being able to get enough funds when
necessary and processing profitable securities trading by using available funds (Gup, 2007, p19).
The reasons for liquidity risk occurs can be concluded in two aspects, which are asset side and

most recent Bond films to have been released in 1999. The two film posters are distinctively
different, which would be expected as the films were released decades apart from eachother.
The first poster for Dr No shows that James Bond is a new, never seen before film as the logo 007

This also may have something to do with the fact that in the 90 s, the first female head of MI5 was
introduced into the films.
The genre of the film is far more evident in the poster for The World Is Not Enough . The images
used connote an action film that has many different narratives. The poster is lively and eye
catching and is full of bright, vivid images. The poster fits in very well with the title of the film,
as it looks like James Bond is going to embark on some international mission, the image of some
of the continents in flames shows this. There are also several images circling around the main
characters in the film, which look futuristic and scientific and feature explosions and car chases.
Comparing the two posters also shows how technology and science has progressed through the
decades and this is very apparent in the 1999 film poster, which looks far more advanced, as far as
gadgets and weapons go.
The Dr No poster does not specify the genre so well. It could be for several different genres. It
indicates that it could possibly be a spy or mystery film, which is partly true of the James Bond
movies.

Analysis Of Lean Production Delivery System
Executive summary The aim of this report is to carry out the in depth analysis of Lean
production delivery system. Firstly the history of LPDS is discussed followed by its principles,
theory, processes and tools. The differences and similarities between current project management
systems and LPDS are observed. Observations are also made on the strengths and weaknesses of
both the systems. How both the systems provide an end value to the customers is also explained.
Introduction to Lean Production Delivery System Initially the manufacturing companies around
the world focused on the output and carried out the production process where everyone worked
on a single product and then moved to the other product which was time consuming. The
manufacturing companies could not meet the demands as time taken to produce is high. Henry
Ford of the Ford car manufacturing company introduced assembly line system and mass
produced cars as the demand for cars at that point of time was high. This drastically reduced time
to produce them. He hired people and trained them to specialize in a single field. Thus different
people worked on different fields according to their specializations which improved the efficiency
and speed of production. In the early 1900 s Toyota Production System (TPS) of Japan tried to use
the same method but was not successful as the market demands were different. It then introduced
Lean production system which focuses solely in providing greater value to the customers and

Goblin Market Vs Little Dorrit
During the Victorian era, a woman s influence was restricted mainly to domestic spheres, being
the angel of the house and tireless supporter of her husband. These gender roles were societally
enforced, as women lacked the necessary rights to move up financially or socially without a
husband. For women, the only possible moral actions come from choosing to stay pure or being
lured by temptation, thereby becoming immoral. In two texts, Rossetti s Goblin Market and
Dickens Little Dorrit, young women are presented as lessons adhering to this morality, being
rewarded for purity and servitude or punished for perceived immorality. Women were supposed to
restrain themselves from any temptation, becoming subservient to a husband as the angel of... Show

For each pair of sisters, the only choice comes from the idea of choosing or not choosing to resist
temptation. In Goblin Market, Laura s decision to interact with the Goblin men is characterized
as a choice of having power over herself, her making the decisions when [her] last restraint is
gone (Rossetti, 418). When she gives in to this temptation, she is corrupted by the Goblins,
unlike Lizzie, who stands strong and stays pure. This idea of temptation and choice is paralleled
in Fanny s and Amy s attitudes regarding devotion. When explaining to Amy that unhappiness is
just her fate in life, due to her personality, Amy tells her that If you loved any one, you would no
more be yourself, but you would quite lose and forget yourself in your devotion to him (Dickens,
381). The implication that Fanny is only herself because she loves no one shows her lack of
dedication to the basic female morality, loving and being devoted to a man. Fanny is rejecting the
role as angel of the house, and therefore is deviating from what is seen as moral through her own
choosing. Representing choices in a binary takes power away from women, as the only agency
they have over their actions is to choose negative actions. If they choose, even of their own will,
something that is seen as deviating from the baseline of women s actions, they are instantly branded
as immoral and therefore shunned by

First, neurological disorders can occur, as seen with Alzheimer s disease and Parkinson s disease,
which can lead to neurogenic bladder ( Neurology/Neurogenic Bladder, 2017). Next, physiological
disorders can occur as seen with enlarged prostate in men or shortening of the urethra in women
(Jaipaul, 2017). Anticipating the above changes appropriately will aid in understanding what leads
to urinary retention in older adults, the resulting need of catheterizations, and the CAUTIs that can

prevent urinary tract infections in patients who require catheterization.
Current Nursing Care
The first step nurses can take to decrease the incidents of CAUTIs in older adults is avoiding
unnecessary use of catheters altogether. Initially, this begins with nurses knowing both appropriate
and inappropriate situations in which a catheter should be utilized. According to (Gould et al.,
2017), an appropriate situation is one where a patient has acute urinary retention or bladder
obstruction, whereas an inappropriate situation is one where a catheter is being used a means of
obtaining urine for culture when the patient can voluntarily void. Nurses can also use basic
techniques like palpation, percussion, and inspection to effectively assess urinary retention, which
is the main reason for catheterization as mentioned earlier. When techniques like this do not

Oil and Gas refers to the naturally occurring liquid and natural gas specifically made up of long
chain hydrocarbons and various organic compounds found beneath the surface of the earth in
entrapments called reservoirs; the presence of oil and gas in these reservoirs is the reason humans
survive everyday and carry out their daily activities effectively. Different activities are usually
carried out to ensure that the oil and gas present in the reservoirs continue to support humans
through their day to day activities; such activities include exploration, development, production and

The minimum miscibility pressure of nitrogen depends largely on the pressure, temperate and
the composition of the reservoir fluid. According to Schlumberger, above the MMP, nitrogen
injection is a miscible vaporizing drive. Miscibility of nitrogen can be achieved only with light
oils that are at high pressures; therefore, the miscible method is suitable only in deep reservoirs
(2011). Both methods of miscible injection from past experiences have proved very effective.
When oil has been effectively recovered from these reservoirs using the miscible gas, the gas
that has mixed with the recovered oil is separated from the oil and re injected into the reservoir
to enhance the oil recovery once again. This process can be repeated until the reservoir is
completely depleted and cannot produce any more oil. Note that nitrogen gas injection is used
when dealing with reservoir containing light oils and also very economical allowing a recovery
of up to 40%. A practical example of nitrogen gas injection is in the Cantarell oil field in Mexico.
Upon application of this enhanced oil recovery methods, there was a noticeable increase in the oil
production from 1.9 million bpd to 2.1 million bpd.

Advantage And Advantages Of Airplanes
I.INTRODUCTION Vertical Take off and Landing (VTOL) and Short Take off and Landing
(STOL) flight has been one of the main interests of both the civilian and military aviation
communities throughout the history of flight. The first patented VTOL design concept was by
Nikola Tesla in 1928. In May 1951, Lockheed and Convair were awarded contracts in the attempt
to design, construct, and test two experimental VTOL fighters. As a result, Lockheed produced the
XFV, and Convair produced the Convair XFY Pogo, nicknamed the Pogo . Both experimental
programs proceeded to flight status and completed test flights 1954 1955. Similarly, the X 13 flew
a series of test flights between 1955 and 1957. But due to much higher complexity, cost and low...

Another advantage, both to operators and to nearby residents, is the large reduction in ground
noise level made possible by the utilization of the steep descent and climb out capability of the
VTOL aircraft. The VTOL airplane has great potential value in its military applications too. The
most obvious advantage is its utilization in delivering ground troops and supplies, the requirement
being only that a clearing of sufficient size exist in a reasonably level region. Tactical close air
support VTOL airplanes can operate in close proximity to zones of action out of these same
clearings, thus reducing the time required to deliver ordnance on a target, or the number of
airplanes required airborne on station. Destruction of or damage to airfield runways loses
significance if the aircraft utilizing the field have a VTOL capability. Consistent with weight and
size limitations, each VTOL airplane is capable of shipboard operations, without the requirement for
arresting hooks, catapult fittings, and the usually associated structural beef up. By the same token,
many ships, with the relatively simple addition of a landing area, are capable of operating VTOL
airplanes without the requirement for heavy and complicated arresting

How Is Mesopotamia Similar
Writing Assignment Egypt and Mesopotamia both have similarities as well as differences. The
geography of the two civilizations are similar because a river plays an important part in their way
of living. They are different because Mesopotamia is divided into regions. The governments of the
two countries have large differences. The advances in technology and science were relatively
similar as well because both countries invented writing systems and irrigation systems.
In Egypt and Mesopotamia, the environments have extreme similarities. In Egypt, one of the
main areas in the environment is the Sahara Desert. The desert runs across the top of Africa
taking up a large part of Egypt. Because the dessert is so dry, people are not able to live there,
but it is useful because it keeps enemies and intruders out of the area. The Nile river is also very
important in Egypt. It starts south of Ethiopia and flows into the Mediterranean sea. The water
from the Nile makes it possible to grow crops. In Mesopotamia, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers
flow through most of Syria, which makes it similar to Egypt. Mesopotamia is divided into the
northern region and the southern region. The northern region consists of ... Show more content on

government was a monarchy because the people had no decisions to make. Egypt was called one of
the most peaceful countries because the government was consistent, and it only changed when there
was chaos, invasion, etc. In Mesopotamia, the government started out as a primitive democracy and
then became theocratic meaning ruled by priest kings. In times of war, a tough fighter would rule
instead of a priest king. Some military rulers became permanent rulers and even passed their power
to their sons creating a dynasty. The countries both had different governments that allowed them to

Leonardo Da Vinci s Last Supper
Leonardo da Vinci was born April 15, 1452 in the Republic of Florence, Italy and died on May 2,
1519. Da Vinci grew up with his father when his parents separated after he was born. He was also
surrounded by scholarly texts and rich painting traditions from his hometown. Da Vinci as he got
older, around the age of 15, went to Florenceto be an apprentice at the Andrea del Verrocchio
workshop. Ever since Da Vinci was young he showed many signs of a great genius, showing his
artistic abilities by his artwork that was created by the workshop. He was so talented he left the
workshop in 1477 and in 1482 to enter the service of the Duke Milan, this was the peak, this was
the beginning for Leonardo da Vinci. He was known as an Italian painter, draftsman,... Show more

To start The Last Supper was supposed to be a modest wall decoration, but Leonardo was able to
turn it into a revolutionary artistic composition of The Last Supper. Leonardo chose to depict
the moment when Christ declared that one of them will betray him. The Apostles gathered
around the table with Jesus shocked and St. John couldn t believe the news and fainted, even St.
Peter was so angered that he pulled out a knife. In this painting, Judas is shown on the same side
of the table as Christ, never before has this happened in history. Judas is being shown on the
same side of the table as christ, but it is shown that he is leaning away betraying his guilt to the
viewers. The Apostles are organized into four groups of three, whom of which are all aligned on
one side of the table. As said before there are three windows behind the table while those windows
are evenly spaced, those windows also have three dark niches along each side, three of them being
associated with the Holy Trinity. Although there is quite a shock of news in this painting, it still
remains pretty calm but its mood is very thoughtful, questionable making someone think about what
is being represented. Leonardo s Last Supper was a major influence on other artists, especially
artists who painted the same scene, such as Tintoretto, Hans Holbein, and

Artifice In This Passage From The Empire Of Illusion By...
Baseline Writing On behalf of this passage from the Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges, his
argument stated, is that the most essential skill...is artifice . Artifice plays an important role in a
variety of ways. In my opinion, I strongly agree alongside with Chris Hedges that the most
essential skill is artifice in which case, plays a huge role in political theater and in a consumer
culture. The variety of ways artifice can be used highly in mass propaganda, which will have
either a positive or negative effect on the citizens. Although, some people may or not side to the
circumstances of how artifice is use, it plays a great role in both political theater and in a consumer
culture. During the time being, most people need a background to

Advantages Of Measuring Body Fat
A common goal for anyone who goes for the first time in a gym is to give body fat a proper send
off. Body fat is the fat that you can see in the mirror. Once you get rid of unwanted fat, you will
be able to see more cuts . On the other hand, the higher it is, the more fat is covering your
muscles. Therefore, if you want to see more cuts , you need to shrink the layer of fat which is
under your skin and covers your muscles.
How can you determine the body fat percentage?
One of the most accurate and efficient way to determine this aspect is with a caliper. These
products are designed to clip the fat and measure it under the skin. There are multiple pinch tests,
but it s recommended to use a four or seven point caliper test. Whatever method you are going to
use, the key element is consistency. It s important to be as consistent as possible when taking the
measurements. In short words, you have to take them under the same conditions. For example, it s
advisable to do them in the morning after using the restroom, because this will eliminate any
discrepancies with fluctuation throughout the day. Additionally, you can also use other methods for
measuring body fat percentage, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Did the Indian Mutiny of 1857 create the British Raj?
The Indian Rebellion of 1857, which was also called the Indian Mutiny, or the War of
Independence was a turning point in the history of Britain in India. However, whether this lead to
the formation of the British Raj, will be explicitly explored in this essay.
The East India Company traded in cotton, silk, tea and opium. They won over Bengal after
gaining victory in the Battle of Plassey in 1757, under Robert Clive. The East India Company
functioned as the military authority in growing sections of India, as well. By 1770, heavy taxation
and other policies had left millions of Bengalis deprived. While British soldiers and traders made
their fortunes, the Indians starved. Between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1784, the Board of Control was established, this gave British Parliament the right to oversee all
aspects of the East India Company. The Governor General managed the Board of Control, he was
was appointed by the British Government, this meant that the British had control over the east
India Company, giving them the power to impose restrictions on certain prospects.
There was a great deal of racial distrust between the British and Indians living in India at the time
of the British Raj. Moreover, many Indians despised the English, they felt that they were only
concerned about their own Industrial Growth this made them uneasy with the new Alien Rule .
Many were unhappy with the rapid cultural changes imposed by the British. They worried that
Hindu and Muslim would be Christianized , mainly by the missionaries. There is some truth to
these statement, but there were a number of other underlying causes for the rebellion.
The Indian soldiers were believed to be under a double rule , both a military and religious rule,
which meant the two often came into conflict, causing them vast problems. One of these problem
was the cause of The Great Rebellion. The main reason the Indian Sepoys mutinied against their
British commanders was because they had heard that the newly issued rifle cartridges were greased
with pig and cow fat, making them unacceptable for both Hindu and Muslim soldiers. This led to a
monumental outbreak, as the Muslims and

Socrates Holiness
What exactly is holiness? This is a question that was brought up in Plato s infamous Euthyphro ,
which addresses the question of what is holy and unholy through the interactions and conversation
between Socrates and Euthyphro. Before diving into the analysis and evaluation of the
conversation that occurs between the two, it is necessary to first develop a background between
the characters. Euthyphro can be classified as an arrogant and somewhat idiotic priest who is
awaiting a trial to prosecute his own father for the murder of a slave. It is at the entrance of the law
courts that Euthyphro encountered Socrates, a well recognized interpreter of religion and theology.
Socrates notices Euthyphro and converses with the man. Socrates has one main goal that he hopes
to achieve through this conversation: To discover the definitionof the holy. It is from this point
onward that the essay will cover analysis of the conversationin greater detail, uncovering the
philosophy of holiness. To begin, the holy must have the form of the holy. Form is often an
expression of something s essence, and essence is usually categorized as the original defining
characteristic of an item. If you were to remove the essence from something, then it would simply
cease to exist as that thing. So, if the holy must have the form of the holy, then this then informs us
that the definition of holiness must capture/attain everything in total that is holy. It is similar to the
idea of all or nothing .

What Does The Colour Symbolize In The Great Gatsby
Analyse the symbolism of colour in The Great Gatsby.
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel the Great Gatsby he uses many literary devices. One of the most
obvious is colour, and in this essay
I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920 s
America and Gatsby s struggle for Daisy
Buchanan.
White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false
facades. In The Great Gatsby white symbolises royalty innocence and purity and can also be seen to
represent the way the wealthy falsely themselves. On the surface, the white symbolises their
innocence and purity, like when Nick first meets Jordan and
Daisy in flowing white dresses. Daisy s name is also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of all the characters,
Gatsby himself fits best into this category; Gatsby lives in a green house surrounded by a green
lawn.
This colour light becomes his hopes in the novel. Barely visible from his west egg dock is the
green light that marks out Daisy s on East
Egg. He reaches towards this in the darkness as the guiding light to his dream. Daisy also forms
a key part of Gatsby s American Dream so the colour green is also associated with this idealism.
This reaching for the light also shows how Gatsby wishes to repeat the past. In chapter nine Nick
describes the Green light to how America must have looked to early settlers.
Yellow symbolises a desire for wealth and it also represents the old money of East Egg. Much like
Daisy Buchanan the old money are false and misguided. Gatsby though is also bad beneath his
character, showing that this also applies to the noveau riche people, as they to are yellow inside.
His gained his fortune through the drugs trade and crime, meaning there is nothing innocent about
his fortune. This goes against the American Dream, as according to this money should be a reward
for honesty and success.
The valley of ashes is associated with a grey and gloomy colour. This thin strip of land between
west Egg and New York City is a long strip of desolate land created by the dumping of industrial
ashes, representing the moral and social decay that results from uninhibited pursuits of

Verbal Irony In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
The crooked toothed dentist looks downward upon his fearful client. Wait, a crooked toothed
dentist? Ironic, isn t it. Irony is a clever literary device that many authors use to make the
audience stop and ponder what has been said, emphasize a central topic or idea, or do both.
Nathaniel Hawthorne, being the exceptional author that he is,uses each of the three types of irony,
verbal, dramatic, and situational, to affirm his simple truth, Be true! Be true! Be true! throughout
his novel. This chair is as comfortable as sitting on nails. Verbal irony is when a character or
narrator says something the expresses the opposite of what is actually meant and, moreover, it is
quite effortless to incorporate into a novel. Sarcasm and verbal irony... Show more content on

If he had simply confessed to his crime earlier, Chillingworth may not have chosen to seek
vengeance seeing that the reverend has already reaped what he sowed. While the firefighters of
New York City are out on duty, their fire station burns down. Situational irony is when what
happens directly contradicts what was expected to happen. In the case of Hawthorne s novel,
situational irony is shown predominantly in the final scaffold scene. Dimmesdale, on the scaffold
with Hester and Pearl, confesses his sin to the onlookers below and he assumes that his guilty
conscience will be cleansed and he will live on a happy life. Conversely, though, he collapses on
the scaffold and promptly dies. To quote the bible, from John 8:32 Then you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free. Dimmesdale s confession to the community set him free of
Chillingworth s grasp, as well as his human binds. As the reverend, he must believe in the Christian
s version of the afterlife, so his death brought to him arguably by God himself, frees him of the
terrible puritan community. Irony has been a staple in literature centuries before Hawthorne s time
and continues to work centuries later in today s writing. The first

Bontsha and Gimpel
Faith is believed to be one of the most important elements attached to the life of a human being.
Faith brings meaning to life. It is the essence that ties a person to life no matter the struggle
encountered. Whenever some one looses faith in the people of their society, all he has felt is a
religious believe which can be translated into #8220;faith in God(s) #8221;. In the stories
#8220;Bontsha the Silent #8221; and #8220;Gimpel the Fool #8221; by Isaac Loeb Peretz and

Creating A Website For An Effective Website
Having a website allows your network to benefit from an online presence and educate customers
to its business. But what does it take to create such a website? What are the steps needed to
create and operate an effective website, a site that encourages customers to do business with
you? Technically, the creation of a single site is not something difficult: thousands of new sites
are appearing on the web on a daily basis. But this apparition proves to be a handicap in terms of
appearance and operation. Here are 6 steps to create a site likely to leave a favorable impression
in the minds of customers, actual and potential. 1. Think about the goal, to the look and feel of
your site Begin this discussion by assessing other similar sites in your industry or other network
sites. Determine what you think is useful or not useful at these sites. Ask yourself the following
questions: What connection is there between fashion design, use of illustrations and colors or tone
of the text and the activity itself? Does the site offers easy access to the information that most
customers have an immediate need? Will they want to visit it again, and why? Is it clear that the
information will be updated on a regular basis? The fact to consider other sites allow you to better
understand what you expect from yours. 3. Remove a domain name Your domain name is the
Internet address that users type into their browser to find your site. For example,
www.votreentrepise.com. You must file all domain

Pestle Is Used For Track The Environment
PESTLE
Political
PESTLE is analysis is used to track the environment they are operating in or planning to launch.
PESTLE stands for political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental. The political
factors are how much the government are involved in the economy. This can be government policy
or political stability/instability and many more. Other political factors are minimum wage and living
wage increasing. When this is increasing Rimmel have to pay all of their staff more money to match
the minimum wage. By removing benefits people who usually get them will find it hard to buy
certain things if they are in a single family as they will only have one income.
Economic
Some economic factors are interest rates, exchange rates and inflation. At the moment the economy
is in a good position and customers can have better spending power. This is because the interest
rates are low and inflation is also low which means the economy is growing. Economic growth
has increased which means that many more people have jobs and therefore earn more money to
buy products. This is good for Rimmel as they then get more people buying their products which
can lead to more profit for the company. Interest rates are also low therefore customers are now not
spending as much on mortgages and loans which means they have more spending power. Inflation
is another factor which is low but has been increasing. This means that it costs more money for
companies to produce products and the

  • 2. Women Are Not Objects For Women Women are NOT Objects For as long as many can remember, women have had a difficult time dealing with things that men have been able to do with ease. For example, throughout history, it has always been said that men were the only ones allowed to vote for their future president, whereas women were not. Another example was back in the 60 s when women were advertised with sexist jobs such as being house wives while men were to be treated courteously (Sex Appeals in Advertising). With that said, when women were getting noticed a lot more, many men found it difficult to accept that since men basically ruled over women. However, currently, the laws and regulations that women have are completely different than how they were before but women are still fighting a common trend that occurs throughout the entire world. Women are seen as sexual objects to men when they desire pleasure which allows for men to control the situation. Therefore, should women be objectified as sexual objects and caregivers whereas males not so much? I will be answering that throughout this essay. With that said, I will be arguing two things; the first being that women are not intended to be a sexual object to bring a certain pleasure to men, and secondly the Catholic Church should not have to justify that a woman s purpose in life is only to procreate a future life. With that said, I will be focusing on two main authors. The first author goes by the name of Miguel De La Torre and his book is called Doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Birth Of A Nation Essay When I was watching the documentary the 13th and seeing everybody view on the War on Drugs a movement, had me questing if the War on Drugs law were Racially Motivated by President Nixon? Many people believe that the War on Drugs was literally a war on Blacks. In 1865 the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was pass. The amendment made it unconstitutional for someone to be held as a slave. AKA it grants freedom for all Americans. Except criminals, but here the problem after slave was ended African Americans had nowhere to go and could not get jobs because they was uneducated. • 4. Oedipus the King The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle once identified the key ingredients of the tragedies that his culture is so famous for. These ingredients include a character with a fatal flaw, the realization of the fault for a particular problem and the final sudden reversal of fortune. For many tragedies, the fatal flaw is demonstrated as excessive pride, which usually serves as the driving force of the play s action. It is common, even beneficial, to have pride in oneself, but when it becomes expressed as arrogance or in defiance of one s fate, it is considered excessive and often leads men to engage in activities that will lead to their downfall. Aristotle (1998) stated the tragic hero falls into bad fortune because of some flaw in his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the process of trying to avoid fate, he has committed some of the greatest sins imaginable to him defiled his mother s bed, murdered his father and spawned monstrous children born of incest. Rather than face the truth and unable to take the severe wound to his pride, Oedipus stabbed out his eyes with broaches and walked away from Thebes forever, thereby sealing his doom through further prideful actions. The sudden reversal of fortune has Oedipus walking away from Thebes a blind, homeless beggar rather than the respected king he should have been based upon his more noble qualities. While this is a surprise, it is nevertheless a logical possible conclusion to the events that have taken place. This concept is brought out to greater extent in the film through the change in setting. Pasolini begins and ends the film in a contemporary setting to when the film was made. While the play suggests that Oedipus went wandering into the desert a self blinded beggar man, the film indicates that he has been wandering a tortured individual for much longer than a normal lifespan. Thus, the elements of classic tragedy are carried throughout both play and film to slightly different interpretations. In both, a fatal flaw within the character of Oedipus drives his actions that eventually seal his own doom. Seen as it is throughout the various elements of the classic tragedian format of first ... • 5. The And Martin Luther King hr and Martin Luther King were seekers of justice and embraced liberal protestant outlooks early on. The similarities in their theology, while not surprising as King derived much of his material from Niebuhr, proved to be uncanny in that they both concerned themselves with how the church should operate within society, the way loveshould be implemented in the ethics of individuals, and social change brought forth by nonviolence. Niebuhr s quest for justicewas in result to the horrific events he witnessed in World War I and World War II. King s, on the other hand, was in result to the economic and racial injustices he experienced. While the catalyst in each theologian s beliefs differed, their shared views on justice, nonviolence to an extent, and God offer a resource for Christians today in understanding their place in society. Pertaining to the ideas of love and justice, Niebuhr prescribed to the belief that in order for perfect justice to arise, the moral imagination of others must seek to meet the needs of fellow individuals. Because The love of God is an impartial goodness beyond good and evil, true justice in Niebuhr s mind will never be reached on earth. The Christian gospel which transcends all particular and contemporary social situations can be preached with power only by a church which bears its share of the burdens of immediate situations in which men are involved, burdens of establishing peace, of achieving justice, and of perfecting justice in the spirit ... Bob Dylan Impact on Society Bob Dylan: An Impact on American Society in the 1960 s Amy Blanton Professor Porter History 22 April 10, 2001 1 The 1960s was a decade of liberation for music, public opinion, dance, invention, and the binds of racism. From this generation spawned some of the greatest musical artists of all time one in particular, Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan is considered to be the greatest influence on popular culture of all time. However, Bob Dylan was not born an idol his legacy was a result of his surroundings. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bob Dylan, was becoming an increasingly popular musician. Despite Dylan s goal to become a famous rock n roll star, he soon became known as a folk singer. Most of his influences were from country, folk, and rhythm and blues. One of his biggest role models was folk musician Woody Guthrie Bob even adopted Guthrie s Okie accent. That was the tradition of folk music borrowing from other artists. Dylan 4 borrowed from just about every blues or folk performer he ever saw; the music belonged to no one. 12 In 1961, Dylan s dreams were becoming a reality he was finally going to become a star. Columbia Records offered Dylan a contract, and in March of 1962, he released his first album, Bob Dylan, and his second, The Freewheelin Bob Dylan, in 1963. It was around this time that Bob started writing his protest songs (also called finger pointing songs sincere expressions of frustration towards leaders who opposed change13), in response to the beginning of the civil rights movement. There are several catalysts that led up to the civil rights movement. The integration of major league baseball in 1947 and Truman s proposal to integrate the armed forces were both pawns in starting the movement. Also, the integration of schools in 1954 was a major event in history; the Supreme Court ruled that separate but equal in schools was no longer tolerable. In the next year, an event took place that would change the course of the movement. On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Success Is The Accomplishment Of One s Goals One of the meanings of the word success is the accomplishment of one s goals. Throughout our lives we make a lot of goals because we want to be happy with ourselves. The majority of the time we make a goal it s because we are motivated. We get ready to do anything it takes to accomplish our goals because we believe we can. But people set aside their goals for numerous reasons. I myself have set aside goals of my own numerous of times. The one goalthat seems to bother me often is working out on a consistent basis because I feel that I am very unsuccessful in this category. Working out is very important to me because It s something I wantto do for the rest of my life. Not only does working out make me feel happy and productive, I care a lot about what my body looks like. After reading Chapters One through Nine in Jeff Olson s The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success Happiness, I have come to the realization of why people who are capable of success, never see it. He explains that there are small things we can do daily that will lead us to a life of success. In Chapter One The Beach Bum and The Millionaire Olson calls these things, simple daily disciplines (10). For these past three weeks I have been religiously practicing Olson s guidelines and my progress has been unsteady. My first problem that I have encountered while trying to accomplish my goal is, after about a week of my workouts I started losing motivation to continue every day. I felt ... • 8. The Impact Of Native Schools On M Ж’Г„ Ori Society Essay Discuss the impact of the introduction of native schools on MДЃori society. The establishment of Native Schools around New Zealand in 1867 had many pulverizing effects which exceeded the few benefits associated with having Native Schools. Native Schools were fundamentally village day schools set up in rustic areas providing MДЃori children with European education under the Native Schools Act 1867. Native Schools were managed to be a medium for the State to gain social control over the MДЃori population and to assimilate MДЃori into civilised law abiding citizens . This essay will investigate how the State promoted/pushed cultural homogeneity through the education system at Native Schools as an approach to attain their ideal outlook of Europeanising and gaining full control over the MДЃori population and their resources. MДЃori and PДЃkehДЃ had very different aspirations for the establishment of Native Schools from the very start (Bishop 1996:76). While MДЃori wanted to further enhance their knowledge to battle the threat forced by the vicinity of PДЃkehДЃ the main focus of the State was merely to control MДЃori society through assimilation (Simon 1998:106). The fact that MДЃori had to provide land for which the school was to be built on, and to additionally pay for half the portion of the development expenses of the school and one quarter of the teacher s wages demonstrates that the setting up of native schools resulted in a financial burden to the MДЃori society (Duncan 2014). ... In the world of intercollegiate sports it s hard to find a coach that has a tenure with the same institution for more than ten years. In the past 37 seasons, Coach Paterno has won an astonishing 336 games, breaking Paul Bear Bryant s record of 323 set at the University of Alabama. Besides obtaining the most wins in NCAA Division 1 A football, Paterno has two national championships (1982 and 1986) and a Big Ten conference championship in 1994 (DeLassus). Records weigh heavily in the highly competitive world of college football. Every season a coach puts his career on the line and when games are lost, so is their job. Several coaches who have had the same lack of success that Paterno has had lately have lost their jobs. Bob Davie was fired from his job at Notre Dame after a 6 6 season record with the Irish in 2001. John Mackovic lost his coaching position half way through his 2003 campaign with the Arizona Wildcats with a 30 34 win/loss record. These coaches don t match Paterno s career overall, but are equivalent in their last five seasons with their respective programs. Freeing the team from Joe Paterno allows them to find a coach that knows how to win football games now. Paterno When you watch Joe at practice, he runs from drill to drill. He s extremely smart. He s not detached (Dye). If Penn State has been playing so poorly and Paterno seems to have so much control over the team at practices and on the field then doesn t a correlation stand out? A concern on the minds of Penn State coaches, players, alumni, and thousands of other fans is that even if Paterno retires would the Nittany Lions still lose? This is a possibility, but the organization has to assess all the risks involved in a transition. A change in leadership is very complicated, but the payoff can also be just as lucrative. Stephen Krashen s Theory Of Second Language Acquisition This is the result of my observation based on those aspects: 1.Teacher s classroom management At that time, the condition of the classroom is noisy enough. The girl students are more taciturn than the boy students. Most of the boy students are naughty, like to disrupt other students, and less respect to the teacher. So, there are some ways which are done to manage the class, they are: a.Managing students to pay attention to the lesson The teacher tried to give attention by knocking the whiteboard and said Students, please listen to me when the classroom became noisy. b.Managing students who are having disruptive behavior If there is a student who disrupt other student, the teacher approach her/ him and said Don t do it . c.Managing students who seem not understand the lesson ... • 16. A Summary Of The Lansdowne Athlete December 6, 2017 Ancient sculptures bring on endless philosophical arguments regarding what is an appropriate form of perfection, defined as a fit body guided by a keen mind. This paper will approach a visual essence of the sculpture of The Lansdowne Athlete, by Lysippos, Rome 340 330 B.C. marble after a bronze original, that I viewed at the LACMA. This sculpture is located in the left wing of Greek exhibition Building, 3rd floor. I selected this sculpture as an example of an idealized body. Therefore, I will be explaining the historical background of the sculpture and address why I think it would make a good addition to our text. I will provide an analogy with other sculpture of idealized body from our textbook chapter 12 on Mind and Body mainly. I will impart more information about the essence of idealized human form as well as cultural ideals during this time period in Greece. The Lansdowne Athlete at the LACMA is an example of a well developed ideal body and carefully controlled proportions to all body parts. This sculpture is a Roman copy of an original by Lysippos made in the 1st century. It is a marble statue of 75inches in height. The figure is in the contrapposto stance common of the style at the time and is taking a step forward. The figure still has integrity even though it has a few missing parts. Its face, which is important, is more or less intact and the standing upright with its impression of movement still visible. The missing arms, if they were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Character Analysis Of Sandra Bullock s The Blind Side At the age of 45, Sandra Bullock won an Oscar award for the movie The Blind side in the year 2010. Sandra plays the role of Leigh Anne Tuohy, her character s heart is pure of kindness as she took in Michael Oher, who she knew from the start was full of potential. But due to his skin color, no one thought to believe it. She plays a middle class, average american mom who believed in equality and acceptance. As she had a family of her own, she never failed to leave Michael out of the picture. Her character is very strong and independent, and in my opinion kind of stubborn but for a good cause. As many doubted Michael, Leigh used the kindness of her heart to make sure Michael had a clear road to success, since his own birth mom wasn t capable of doing it herself. This movie was based on a true story which I find astonishing and inspiring. What filled me with anger though is just seeing how people were discriminated, and how many did not stand up to be allies. But Leigh really opened up that passage way to equality that most African American s never really experienced. She put out a clear message that not all white people are cruel and racist. Fun fact: The real Leigh Anne Tuohydid an interview talking about her experience and how it really encouraged many to stand up for what s right, and even the little spontaneous moments can really impact someone s life, in a way you may not understand. It s mindboggling, the 54 year old mother of three says. We realize we do have a mission. We have the opportunity to change lives. If that sounds narcissistic, screw it. Racism is alive and well in this country; we have to learn how to love someone who doesn t look like us. (Tuohy, 2015) She speaks with honesty and confidence, yet many still disagree with equality. Why hate on someone for the stupidest excuses. Because of skin? Eyes? Hair? People can t help the way they look. But they can help the way they are treated. If you don t like the way someone is being treated, be like Leigh Tuohy and stand up. Stop sitting on your butts and speak up. It has been one cause of tragic, irreversible damage to innocent lives of citizens through the long US history. Despite the evidence that openly carrying firearms in public spaces endangers public safety, most states lack laws to limit open carry and some have even taken steps to weaken regulation regarding the practice. Historically, most states either prohibited or strongly regulated the carrying of firearms in public spaces. Over the past three decades, however, state laws have changed dramatically. In that time, many states have significantly weakened their laws to permit more and more people to carry guns in public places and to reduce or eliminate local law enforcement s ability to keep potentially dangerous people from carrying guns in public. Almost everything about the story is very gloomy, dark and depressing. For example, the house is described by the narrator as the melancholy House of Usher and the description of Roderick Usher himself makes you think of a corpse. This theme of dreariness and sorrow pervades the story and is done to a very chilling effect, which really draws in the reader. The Fall of the House of Usher has lots of necessary elements of a traditional Gothic tale: a dreary landscape, a haunted house, mysterious characters, etc., but for all of these elements, the vagueness of the story is a large part of the ... Edgar Allan Poe creates a sensation of claustrophobia in this story. The narrator is mysteriously trapped by Roderick s lure and his need to help his friend. He cannot escape until the house of Usher collapses completely. The house, because of its deteriorated state and seemingly seclusion from everything else, seems to take on a monstrous character of its own the Gothic mastermind that controls the fate of its inhabitants. Edgar Allan Poe creates confusion between the living things and inanimate objects by doubling the physical house of Usher with the genetic family line of the Usher family, which he refers to as the house of Usher. It is even said in the story that the people of the nearby village refer to both the actual house and the Usher family as the house of Usher which reinforces the idea that they are the same thing. Firstly the history of LPDS is discussed followed by its principles, theory, processes and tools. The differences and similarities between current project management systems and LPDS are observed. Observations are also made on the strengths and weaknesses of both the systems. How both the systems provide an end value to the customers is also explained. Introduction to Lean Production Delivery System Initially the manufacturing companies around the world focused on the output and carried out the production process where everyone worked on a single product and then moved to the other product which was time consuming. The manufacturing companies could not meet the demands as time taken to produce is high. Henry Ford of the Ford car manufacturing company introduced assembly line system and mass produced cars as the demand for cars at that point of time was high. This drastically reduced time to produce them. He hired people and trained them to specialize in a single field. Thus different people worked on different fields according to their specializations which improved the efficiency and speed of production. In the early 1900 s Toyota Production System (TPS) of Japan tried to use the same method but was not successful as the market demands were different. This idea of temptation and choice is paralleled in Fanny s and Amy s attitudes regarding devotion. When explaining to Amy that unhappiness is just her fate in life, due to her personality, Amy tells her that If you loved any one, you would no more be yourself, but you would quite lose and forget yourself in your devotion to him (Dickens, 381). The implication that Fanny is only herself because she loves no one shows her lack of dedication to the basic female morality, loving and being devoted to a man. Fanny is rejecting the role as angel of the house, and therefore is deviating from what is seen as moral through her own choosing. Representing choices in a binary takes power away from women, as the only agency they have over their actions is to choose negative actions. If they choose, even of their own will, something that is seen as deviating from the baseline of women s actions, they are instantly branded as immoral and therefore shunned by ... First, neurological disorders can occur, as seen with Alzheimer s disease and Parkinson s disease, which can lead to neurogenic bladder ( Neurology/Neurogenic Bladder, 2017). Next, physiological disorders can occur as seen with enlarged prostate in men or shortening of the urethra in women (Jaipaul, 2017). Anticipating the above changes appropriately will aid in understanding what leads to urinary retention in older adults, the resulting need of catheterizations, and the CAUTIs that can follow. Having a foundation to build on, it would be beneficial to explore what nurses can do prevent urinary tract infections in patients who require catheterization. Current Nursing Care The first step nurses can take to decrease the incidents of CAUTIs in older adults is avoiding unnecessary use of catheters altogether. Initially, this begins with nurses knowing both appropriate and inappropriate situations in which a catheter should be utilized. According to (Gould et al., 2017), an appropriate situation is one where a patient has acute urinary retention or bladder obstruction, whereas an inappropriate situation is one where a catheter is being used a means of obtaining urine for culture when the patient can voluntarily void. Nurses can also use basic techniques like palpation, percussion, and inspection to effectively assess urinary retention, which is the main reason for catheterization as mentioned earlier. Essay on Enhanced Oil Recovery INTRODUCTION Oil and Gas refers to the naturally occurring liquid and natural gas specifically made up of long chain hydrocarbons and various organic compounds found beneath the surface of the earth in entrapments called reservoirs; the presence of oil and gas in these reservoirs is the reason humans survive everyday and carry out their daily activities effectively. Different activities are usually carried out to ensure that the oil and gas present in the reservoirs continue to support humans through their day to day activities; such activities include exploration, development, production and finally, abandonment and reclamation. The minimum miscibility pressure of nitrogen depends largely on the pressure, temperate and the composition of the reservoir fluid. According to Schlumberger, above the MMP, nitrogen injection is a miscible vaporizing drive. Miscibility of nitrogen can be achieved only with light oils that are at high pressures; therefore, the miscible method is suitable only in deep reservoirs (2011). Both methods of miscible injection from past experiences have proved very effective. When oil has been effectively recovered from these reservoirs using the miscible gas, the gas that has mixed with the recovered oil is separated from the oil and re injected into the reservoir to enhance the oil recovery once again. This process can be repeated until the reservoir is completely depleted and cannot produce any more oil. Note that nitrogen gas injection is used when dealing with reservoir containing light oils and also very economical allowing a recovery of up to 40%. A practical example of nitrogen gas injection is in the Cantarell oil field in Mexico. Upon application of this enhanced oil recovery methods, there was a noticeable increase in the oil production from 1.9 million bpd to 2.1 million bpd. The first patented VTOL design concept was by Nikola Tesla in 1928. In May 1951, Lockheed and Convair were awarded contracts in the attempt to design, construct, and test two experimental VTOL fighters. As a result, Lockheed produced the XFV, and Convair produced the Convair XFY Pogo, nicknamed the Pogo . Both experimental programs proceeded to flight status and completed test flights 1954 1955. Tactical close air support VTOL airplanes can operate in close proximity to zones of action out of these same clearings, thus reducing the time required to deliver ordnance on a target, or the number of airplanes required airborne on station. Destruction of or damage to airfield runways loses significance if the aircraft utilizing the field have a VTOL capability. Consistent with weight and size limitations, each VTOL airplane is capable of shipboard operations, without the requirement for arresting hooks, catapult fittings, and the usually associated structural beef up. • 46. Socrates Holiness What exactly is holiness? This is a question that was brought up in Plato s infamous Euthyphro , which addresses the question of what is holy and unholy through the interactions and conversation between Socrates and Euthyphro. Before diving into the analysis and evaluation of the conversation that occurs between the two, it is necessary to first develop a background between the characters. Euthyphro can be classified as an arrogant and somewhat idiotic priest who is awaiting a trial to prosecute his own father for the murder of a slave. It is at the entrance of the law courts that Euthyphro encountered Socrates, a well recognized interpreter of religion and theology. Socrates notices Euthyphro and converses with the man. Socrates has one main goal that he hopes to achieve through this conversation: To discover the definitionof the holy. It is from this point onward that the essay will cover analysis of the conversationin greater detail, uncovering the philosophy of holiness. To begin, the holy must have the form of the holy. Form is often an expression of something s essence, and essence is usually categorized as the original defining characteristic of an item. If you were to remove the essence from something, then it would simply cease to exist as that thing. So, if the holy must have the form of the holy, then this then informs us that the definition of holiness must capture/attain everything in total that is holy. One of the most obvious is colour, and in this essay I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920 s America and Gatsby s struggle for Daisy Buchanan. White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false facades.
