Christopher Gonzalez
I admire the simple, humble heart of people, showing as they care about others, not trying to
impress anyone or be the center of attention. Especially for its ability to respect others. When I
admire someone, I do it by looking at many things, but never at his physical appearance or
economic status. In order to admire someone, that personhas to have qualities that money cannot
buy. Many people loop at the physical appearance, the way we dress, and the material things this
person possesses or gives. To me it should not be that way.
Although this person has been through a lot in his life, he has never lost hope and desire to move
forward. He does not give up easily, but continues with his modesty and good heart. I had the
opportunity to meet him a year ago by the social network, Instagram. Although we are not together
physically, we communicate daily either by phone, video, call or text. The person who has earned
my admiration is Christopher Gonzalez. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, I respect his courage to manage and cope with life situations, such as helping others
and the respect he shows for others. Christopher makes me laugh at my saddest moments. He also
changes my mood in minutes and helps me when I feel that I don t have the strength to continue.
We have laughed, cried and had many ups and downs but we have faith in God and he has always
been present in our relationship. Christopher is the person who knows me the most right now, and
no matter what my faults and my problems are, he has been there for me. He advises me and is my

Good For Her, Not Me, By Amy Poehler
Good for her, not me. That is the motto women should constantly repeat over and over again.
Good for her, not me, (Poehler 32). This line from Amy Poehler s new memoir, Yes Please, is
reminding women to take a step back from the so called Mommy Wars and remember that not
everything is a competition one style of parenting may be good for her , but not for me . The idea
that women need to be reminded of this is a little ridiculous, but then again the concept of mother
versus mother warfare is even more ridiculous. With the influence of the media, society has been
forced into the debate of who is the better mother. Mother blaming has become the cultural norm
and is fueled by the media s depiction of motherhood. Dividing women into two categories, the
stay at home mom vs the working mother, results in the dimming of women s power: mothers
being pinned against one another are unable to band together and insist on social changes that
would benefit all parents. This cultural emphasis on Mommy Wars is yet another way our
patriarchal society continues to oppresses women today. For example, look at motherhood
according to TV throughout the decades. You ll be able to find a plethora of examples of how the
media idolizes the perfect mother and depicts motherhood to society in a way that has negatively
affected mothers throughout the ages. In the 50s and 60s the TV showed June Cleaver, on the
sitcom Leave It To Beaver, puttering around the

Characteristics Of The DISC Model Of Human Behavior
The DISC model of human behavior is a simple key to understand how people behave and how
they are motivated. Twenty four hundred years ago, scientists and philosophers, most notably
Hippocrates, began to recognize and categorize differences in behavior that seemed to follow a
pattern. Since then, many psychologists and scientists have explored behavioral patterns. The
initial DISC model comes from Dr. William Marston, a physiological psychologist, in a book
entitled Emotions of Normal People, published in 1928. He did not create an instrument from
his theory, but others did. DISC is the leading personal assessment tool used by over 1 million
people every year to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. I believe the
public sector must adopt this DISC test before recruitments in order to avoid social loafing (Max
Ringelmann ,1913), the phenomenon of people exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they
work in a group than when they work alone. The DISC model is the universal language of
observable human behavior. Each letter has its own meaning. D (Dominance) is how people
respond to problems and challenges. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

affairs . I am always willing to help as I can , and while they are annoyed shouting, I try politely
to calm them and hear them and at the end I emphasize their interest and they leave satisfied and
happy. According to the D personality type, people think about big picture goals and tangible
results. They are bottom line organizers that can lead an entire group in one direction. They place
great value on time frames and seeing results. The D may challenge the status quo and think in a
very innovative way . I totally agree with this

Comparison of Mexico and Nigeria Essay
The Adventure to Democracy

Simon Fraser University
The Adventure to Democracy
In the midst of the prevalence of democratic transitions, a number of developing countries are
seeking to achieve the successful consolidation of civil order in modern days. Among those
participants, Mexico and Nigeria has been spotlighted for the completely contrastive endings at the
end of their long adventures towards democratization since their independence; Mexico, from its
independence, has maintained the political stability despite the authoritarian single party regime
and even accomplished the solid democratization at the time of the 2000 election whereas Nigerian

By means of land redistribution and Import Substitution Industrialization, PRI reinforced economic
and social defections and even further promoted the remarkable economic development. In
political aspect, it also largely contributed to settle down the ethnic and regional conflicts and
created an atmosphere that was conducive to co operate. As Andreas Schedler mentions in his
journal, PRI brought the end to armed strife between regional warlords and rival revolutionary
factions by its foundation (pg 5, Schedler, 2000) . Besides in accordance to the 2000 released
article from the Economist, PRI used to fund the opposition political parties in order to maintain
their existence in politics (The Economist, 2000). In brief, the PRI govern on the basis on
collaboration, not on coercion.
Ethnocentrism vs. Patriotism Along with what mentioned above, the contention of tripartite parties
in Nigeria that encourages Ethnocentrism to splinters internal society contradicts to the national
harmonization in Mexico. The contrast of Nigeria s ethnocentrism and Mexico s patriotism is well
presented in their story of oil revenue. Both have received considerable attention in the International
market as the significant oil producers. In the case of Nigeria, despite the great fortune, unequal
share of oil revenue and prevailing corruptions around oil revenue provoked the increased political
tensions among regional

Profile Of A Terrorist Analysis
UNDERSTANDING TERRORISM In the article Profile of a Terrorist by Cindy Combs, the
author maps out and discusses the different causes of terrorism committed by people.
Understanding and determining what drives people to terrorism is no easy task. Why do people
choose to commit acts of terrorism? Why do people choose to become rebellious and wreak havoc
on so many innocent civilians? Combs discusses the different types of terrorists as suggested by
Frederick Hacker who was a Vienna born psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and expert on aggression
and terrorism. Hacker breaks down the different types of terrorist in three different categories, of
those including crazies, criminals, and crusaders. Hacker offers loose descriptions... Show more

Acts of terrorism such as hostage taking, hi jacking, bombing, and mass killings could leave
countless survivors and witnesses scarred for life. According to the article THE TERRORISM
AND ITS PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS by Irina Ioana, several studies on the psychological
effects of attacks in Europe or in the context of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict have shown a
sometimes high rate of depressive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among
victims (Irina 220). Iona displays a column table in her article that indicates: 39% of the

Basketball Informative Speech
Basketball is among the most popular and fastest growing sports in the world; according to the
International Basketball Federation, over 450 million people play basketball across the globe
(Azcentral.com). Basketball has been around since 1891 and is inspiring children, adults and
teenagers all over the world including me. It started off with just a ball and a hoop with the goal to
throw the ball into the hoop. Whoever makes the most baskets wins. Simple, isn t it? Maybe like

Basketball included features that are shocking compared to today s game of basketball. Though
it may be hard to grasp, basketball started off with two nailed up peach baskets
(NBAHoopsOnline). After the first shot was made by William R. Chase the ball had to be
removed from the basket by a person on a ladder. That all changed in 1906 when the peach baskets
were transformed to the hoops we see today. It didn t take a genius to create hoops that were open
at the bottom.Shockingly basketball was first played with a soccer ball before being change to an
actual basketball sponsored by Spalding in 1929. Kareem Abdul Jabbar apparently found it quite
easy to make a lot of baskets because Kareem Abdul Jabbar holds the record for most points scored
in his 20 year career at 38,387 points. (FactMonster) If you are new to basketball then you probably
don t know that the first game ever played was for 30 minutes and nowadays its 48 minutes. If you
ever peeked at a score of an NBA basketball game you ll see that it is always close to about 90 and
100 points, but can you believe that the score of the first game was 1 0. It was the first game they

Media Violence
It has been calculated that American kids see about 200,000 acts of violence and 25,000 murders
on television by the time they reach age eighteen. (Schleifer 18) Arrests of people under the age
of eighteen for violent crimes rose forty seven percent from 1988 to 1992. (Miller 174) The
American Medical Association conducted a study that found a direct relationship between viewing
and homicide. (Miller 176) Does this kind of overexposure to violencehave a significant effect on
children and teenagers? The answer is yes! Many reliable sources have proven that violence in the
media has a negative influence in children under the age of eighteen. Statistics show that deaths and

This is especially true when it come to cartoon violence because the consequences to the victims

people who get shot never show pain! (Schleifer 18) I didn t know it would hurt him, said an
eight year old boy after he was arrested for beating his next door neighbor. (Kreiner 27) Statistics
even show that the media also affects the number of crimes committed by children and murders of
children by other children. In 1993, 28 New York youth faced murder charges. On a national scale,

In Cold Blood Environment
The circumstances, environment, and events during an individual s life may have major effects on
that individual s personality traits and mindset. In many cases, the environmental factors of a
convicted criminal s life have led to the development of criminal minds and the eventual execution
of extremely serious felonies. Truman Capoteillustrates how a convict s background can influence a
criminal mind in his novel, In Cold Blood. In this nonfiction novel, Capote depicts how the
environment and events during the lives of infamous murderers Dick Hickock and Perry Smith
have led them to commit the crimeof killing Herbert Clutter and his family. Although very few

Dr. Satten claims that because of these past experiences with violence, Perry developed a
schizophrenic behavior that led to him killing the father of the Clutter family; therefore proving
that the violence in Perry s life led to the murder of the Clutters. Similar to Perry s situation,
when a boy named Will was five years old, his mother tried to kill him with a butcher knife. . .For
the next several years Will lived with his older brother, until he committed suicide by shooting
himself through the heart. . .Will eventually joined a gang and committed a number of very serious
crimes, including a murder. Will had witnessed multiple acts of violence during his childhood
which is a possible factor that contributed to his crime. Through the study conducted at a prison in
Wisconsin and the stories of Perry and Will, it can be concluded that domestic/community violence
does play a role in the development of criminal

The Effect Of Temperature And Reactant Concentration On...
This experiment aimed to investigate the relationship between temperature and reactant
concentration on the rate of reaction for the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride, and to determine the
validity of the proposed mechanism for the reaction. It was hypothesised that measuring the kinetics
of this unimolecular substitution reaction would demonstrate the reaction ratefor the hydrolysis of
tert Butyl Chloride utilising acetone as the solventwhich should increase with both its increased
concentration and temperature, to produce the product tert Butyl alcohol.
When the solution of tert butyl chloride in acetone is added to water in the presence of a base
and a universal indicator, its reaction to form tert butyl alcohol is indicated by dramatic color
change. Bromothymol blue is an acid base indicator which appears blue in an alkaline medium
and yellow in an acidic solution (Artxy, 2011). The solvolysis of tert butyl chloride is revealed by
the indicator change from blue to yellow as hydrogen halide is produced during the reaction
(Mostafa, 2009). The solution is initially blue because of its Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) content
(alkaline), and the colour change results as aqueous chlorine removes a proton from the transition
state, while the generated hydrogen ions neutralise the hydroxide ions of the NaOH, causing the
change in the pH of the system (Riley, 1977). This qualitatively determines that the rate of reaction
is dependent on the concentration of tert butyl chloride.

are less than sixteen (16) ounces in a bottle of soda, speculate on three (3) possible causes. Next,
suggest the strategies to avoid the deficit in the future.
I conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in some of the bottles of soda. Some causes
that may contribute to the issues may include a mechanical defect with the company s equipment,
employees failed to notice or inspect the bottles before packaging, or the product evaporates or
goes flat after a period time has passed. As manager, I recommend that there will be a monthly
maintenance check on the equipment and documented. Also, employees will be monitored in how
thorough the product is inspected before leaving the assembly line and packaged. Lastly, I will
stress to consumers of the possibility that the product may have experienced evaporation and gone
flat depending on how long it stays on the shelf unopened.

The Best Route For Nuanced And Equitable Access For...
It is almost a conundrum to consider the best route for nuanced and equitable access for
information. I think on some level the words nuanced and equitable contradict each other. These
words can be understood as existing on a continuum. On one end there are the nuanced (i.e.
more precise or expert) classification systems which tend to serve the skilled searcher very well,
and the novice searcher very badly. Unless you are familiar with the controlled vocabulary you
are unlikely to find answers. On the other end of the spectrum there are equitable classification
systems which, in the struggle to make the search easy and possible for all, lose the nuance
needed to find what is specifically sought. Search engines for example, are broad and
constrained by very few search rules. The knowledge gained from a search engine can be found
by nearly anyone with basic knowledge. The results returned from many poorly constructed
searches, however, are generic and the number of results can be so broad as to be meaningless.
So which is better? To have an access system so stringent that a layperson will have a difficult
time retrieving results? Or have an access system so open that anyone can retrieve results, but the
results may not be as relevant as they need to be? As usual, the answer lies in finding a happy
medium. I believe the best route for creating access to cultural heritage information, a way to have
the best of both nuance and equity, is to employ a system that has a public

Functions Of Mitosis And Meiosis
Topic Cells
(A.C. 3.1)
Mitosis and meiosis are both forms of the nucleus in eukaryotic cells and share some similarities,
but also exhibit distinct differences that lead to very different outcomes (UK essays 2013;
widmaier et al, 2014; Toole, 2015; Khan, 2016). Mitosis is a cell division that produces two
daughter cells receiving a copy of every chromosome with the same genetic component as the
parent cell, while meiosis is a cell division that produces haploid sex cells or gametes which
contain a single copy of each chromosome (widmaier et al, 2014; Diffen, 2016; Toole 2016;
Encyclopaedia Britannica). The purpose of mitosis is cell regeneration, growth, and asexual
reproduction, while the purpose of meiosis is the production of gametes for sexual reproduction

Alex was left together and that is when they suddenly realized that they liked each other.
Unfortunately, Isabel had mixed emotions about the situation. She wanted to invite Alex into
her life permanently but she did not want to get hurt with what the future held. Alex on the other
hand was ready to spend his life with Isabel. He told Isabel you are everything I never knew I

stage of their relationship, they decided to get married. They got married in court, which upset
Isabel s father. Another conflict that the relationship had was Alex s best friend. His friend, who
was previously married, shared all the negativity about marriage. He wanted to know how come
they skipped the whole dating stage. At this point, Alex referred dating as bringing out your best

Fairytales In Cinderella And Cinderella
Fairytales are expressed as writing; which ultimately reveals a morale toward the audience. These
stories typically display the hero as a male who potentially saves the heroine. Throughout time,
these stories develop themes and ideas that allow readers to discover its true purpose. These
versions let the audience envision the story in a new perspective. From the development of time,
readers notice the shift of heroism from male characters toward female characters. Through an
analysis of literary terms and elements in the original version of The Little Glass Slipper, and
Cinderella, their themes were modified due to the changes in time, plot and societal norms. My
agreement in the newer purpose of modified stories can be represented through the fairytale
Cinderella .The fairytale originated from the story entitled, The Little Glass Slipper, which was
written by Charles Perrault. This original tale was reformed through the Brother s Grimm version
otherwise known as Cinderella . When anaylizing both works, the reader notices that each story
has its own morale, ending and plot. Each fairytale, results in a newer ending from the shift in
time. In the original tale, the story concludes with kindness overruling beauty, however, in the
second version the step sisters are punished for their actions toward Cinderella. The morale of the
original tale, describes Cinderella s kindness to defeat the negativity of her step sisters. The newer
versions, prove a differing morale

The Sources, Environmental Impact, and Control of Water...
Water pollution is one of the most serious environmental challenges. It occurs when water is
contaminated by such substances as human and animal wastes, toxic chemicals, metals and oils.
Pollution can affect rain, rivers, lakes, oceans and the water beneath the earth, called ground water.
Polluted water may look clean or dirty, but it all contains bacteria, viruses, chemicals or other
chemicals than can cause illness or even death. Impurities must be removed before such water can
be used safely for drinking, cooking or washing. Some industries must clean the water before it can
be used in their manufacturing processes.

Some industries pollute water in yet another way. they use large quantities of water to cool certain
equipment. Heat from the equipment makes the water hot. The industries then discharge the hot
water into rivers and lakes, heating those bodies of water. Such heating that harms plants or animals
is known as thermal pollution.
В· Sewage consists of human wastes, garbage and water that has been used for washing or bathing.
Most of the sewage goes through treatment plants that remove solids and such dissolved substances
as the nutrients nitrogen and phosphorous.
В· Agricultural chemicals and wastes. Water from rain or melted snow flows from farmland into
streams, carrying chemical fertilisers and pesticides that farmers have used on the land. Animal
wastes also can cause water pollution, particularly from feed lots with many animals. Cattle, sheep
and poultry raised on feed lots do not distribute their wastes over widespread pastureland. Instead,
much of their wastes runs off into nearby streams. Water used for irrigation also may be polluted
by salt, agricultural pesticides and toxic chemicals on the soil surface before it flows back into the
ground.

The Indian Removal And The Colonization Of The United...
Between the years 1816 and 1850, over one hundred thousand Indians from sixty different tribes
were relocated from their homelands and moved west; around thirty thousand Indians would die en
route. The Indian Removal stands as one of the cruelest periods in the history of the United States,
and is the result of a long history of war and disagreement between whites and Indians.
Indians and Europeans had their differences. The culture of the Indian tribes was very different
than that of the incoming white settlers. Indian nations held a deep respect for nature, and felt that
the land belonged to no individual. The white European settlers believed in private land ownership.
However, in spite of these differences, some white settlers and Indians developed successful trade
relationships. Still, Indians were long regarded as savages by white Europeans . Spaniards treated
them with extreme brutality, imprisoning Indians and confiscating their lands. And as time passed,
Indians and Europeans would begin to fight over land claims.
200 years later, Indians and Europeans had several written treaties, but the Europeans often ignored
the treaties and encroached on Native territory. Indians sought ways to stop the settlers from taking
their lands, sometimes turning to war.
In the American Revolutionary War, most Indians fought on the side of the British. Indians believed
that Britain was the better option for winning the war, as they hoped the British would help curb

Soviet Union And The Ussr
On August 6th, 1945 the world watched in awe as the United States dropped two Atomic bombs
on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this brought forth the end of World War 2 and an allied powers
victory. The two biggest winners of this war were the United States and the USSR (aka. Soviet
Union and present day Russia) and they knew that they won the most. The United States during
this time had just come out of the Worst depression it had in history and needed more
reassurance for a better future. The USSR was also on top of the world beating its biggest rival
but also took some of the biggest losses about 40 million people for a closer estimate. Germany had
separated into four divisions Russia taking the biggest portion and the capital Berlin. Russia saw
themselves as missionaries trying to expand communism worldwide from China to Cuba. The
problem with this was that the exact opposite of Communism was Capitalism, which ,along with
democracy, is what the United States stands for. The United States did not like that the USSR was
trying to spread communism which resulted in intervention and tensions between the two countries.
These political and military tensions were called the Cold War i.e. the unfought war of threats that
lasted over four decades. The Cold War can be dissected into five simple parts; The beginning of
the war, the heating up of the war, confrontation, the homefront, and the end of the war. The whole

Definitions of intellectual property, its legal protections, and the impact of the moral justifications
that exist in cyberspace
Intellectual property defines a wide range of the property created by investors, artistes, authors, and
musicians. The law governing intellectual property naturally includes the copyrights, trademarks,
and patents law. Its main intention is to motivate the development of art, sciences, and information
giving defined rights of property to all the artistes, who include inventors of science and art. These
rights assist artists to safeguard themselves from violation, unauthorized misuse, and use of their
creations. Service marks and trademarks safeguard distinguishing characteristics (such as a package
and name design) that are linked with certain products and services that display commercial source
(Blakley, Johanna 2010).
Laws safeguarding copyrights have strong links with the England law of the eighteenth century.
Complete patent laws may be tracked from the seventeenth century in England, but they have
always been part of the law of United States from the colonial period (Spinello, 2004). The concepts
of patent and copyright were all included in the constitution of the United States. The congress has
the power to encourage the development of useful art and science. It does this by safeguarding

They were very involved textiles and the making of cloth, they would spin the wool at home using

James Watt had to entrepreneurs to help him with his steam engine invention John Roebuck was his
first but he went bankrupt. Matthew Boulton took over from John and formed a great partnership
with James Watt called Boulton and Watt, which lasted nearly 25 years. In 1800 Richard Trevithick
invented a high pressure steam engine these engines were smaller and lighter than the previous
atmospheric engines because they didn t use a condenser and had smaller cylinders.
Steam engines were used as transport engines in trains (locomotives) and canals. This was so it
would be easier and faster to transport goods and people. Steam engines were used in factories in
machines. They were used in the textile industry to power looms and spinning machines. Coal
powered steam engines which were needed to make iron. Iron improved, fixed and made tools and
machines and was also used to build bridges and ships.

Vitruvius Impact On Modern Architecture
The film proposal is for a small, artistic, Indie drama film. The movie is directed towards future
architects just like Vitruvius writing. The film would copy the message in De Architectura and tell
about the importance of Architects and what an Architect should know. It would be a movie that
professors require first year architecturestudents to watch. It would be educational and provide an
entertaining way to learn about the impact of architecture on society. 3.
The movie takes place in 12 AD Rome and in 2016 at the University of Cincinnati. 12 AD is a time
that Vitruvius would have been alive and Augustus would have been emperor. It s a time before De
Architectura was completed so that the lessons Vitruvius learns in the modern world could
influence the collection of writing. This will help preserve the modern thoughts on architecture in
classical times and push forth innovation years in advance. This plays on the fact that Vitruvius
writings were conservative at the time and his dislike of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film plays off of this and the plot consists of convincing him to not be so conservative. We
are dependent almost solely on his own writing to know what he was like as a person. The film
takes place only a few years before his death and he is depicted as old and wise. De architectura
had little significance at it s time of writing but with his new understanding on contemporary
architecture it would become very popular and not be lost for hundreds of years like it was. To
modernize the literature I have Vitruvius apply his theories to modern times. The genre of the
original text was not a drama, but anything can be made into a narrative. To do that there is a lot of
other dialogue besides just direct quotes from Vitruvius writing. It would be a boring film to just
watch a series of lectures so there needed to be entertaining elements of time travel, violence,

Competitive Authoritarianism And Political Authoritarianism
1.competitive authoritarianism competitive authoritarianism
Levitsky and Way describe, a competitive authoritarianism is, in essence, a democracy but it lacks
proportional representation and most of the elections and government institutions are predisposed
to only the elites. Juan Linz describes this as a diminished form of authoritarianism. In competitive
authoritarianism regimes, elections are normally rigged, power figures regularly misuse state
resources while oppressed are denied simple liberties. Anyone who is opposed is often killed or
jailed. Competitive Authoritarianism is not an authoritarian and is not quite a democracy, but it has
democratic institutions in place and incumbents cannot reduce them.
2.perils of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political reform is often resulting in increased demands of oppressed and weaken state. New
democracies tend to have security problems and questions of the democratic governance. The state
must instill stability and social control; thus a weak state will fail. Democracy, however, can
achieve peace by allocating power through elections, manage diversity without violence, and create
political positions. State and nation building, integration, and a development of a unified ideology
can be a strategy to promote democratic consolidation.
5.resource curse and the transition to democracy
Countries that do not promote accountability and state competence to benefit from resource booms
are at risk of the resource curse. The resource curse is when resource rich countries benefit from its
wealthy natural resources (i.e. oil) and do not help with its people welfare. Its government officials
are less likely to meet the demands of its people because they are too busy pocketing the cash.
These countries are more deceptable to authoritarianism, low levels of economic growth and
stability. Wealthy natural resources can promote power conflicts and corrupt governments.
Countries that have a resource curse are more likely to transition to democracy when its large
revenue comes from citizens taxes.

My Experience With Iris Van Herpen Essay
Iris van Herpen
At a time when Silicon Valley is trying (and failing) to be fashionable, the Dutch designer is
taking a different route borrowing the discoveries of scientists, architects and even the military to
create artistic pieces of great beauty. Recently I had a talk with Iris Van Herpen about her work. I
had a great experience with her.
Where were you born, grow up and did your study? I was born in Netherlands and live with my
family in wamel. I did my Fashion design from Artez Institute of the Arts Arnhem.
What are your hobbies in childhood? What are the family situations in you grow up?
In childhood I took painting lessons, played the violin and studied ballet seriously until I was
sixteen. However my initial passion lied in dance because my mother was a dancer. My father
worked as an advisor to a governmental water agency. There was no television in my house in fact
I don t have a computer until I bought it myself at 22.
What made you decide to pursue a career in fashion?
Well, when I began my education journey at Artez, I become predominately interested in designing
apparel. And then I decided to work in fashion industry.
How did you get your first break? When did you start your own label?
After graduating, I did an internship at Alexander McQueen as well as Cloudy Jongstra and that
was my first break. It was first when I was forced to perform handwork, like meticulous beading
and intricate embroidery. There I realized that an idea can come from a

definitely a movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat with never a dull moment.
It s the story of Creasy being hired as a bodyguard for a nine year old girl named Pita Ramos; the
daughter of a wealthy businessman named Samuel Ramos, to protect her from being kidnapped
and held for ransom as it was a common occurrence in mexico, which is where the movie is based.
At the beginning of the movie Creasy and Pita don t have a close relationship as he can barely

bond when Creasy begins helping Pita with her swimming and a beautiful friendship is formed
where Creasy becomes more like her father figure. When gunman JesГєs Ochoa kidnaps Pita,
Creasy is extremely wounded, but sets out to find her and vows to kill anyone involved in or

Ballet has always been important throughout history. It was and is still a thrilling way to celebrate
special events and ballet is also a form of expression. Ballet was originated during the 15th century
in the Italian Renaissance Courts. Two very passionate dancers began to fund and help popularize
ballet. Their names were Catherine de Medici and King Louis XIV. Victor Marius Alphonse Petipa
was also a very well known French ballet dancer, teacher and choreographer. He is considered to be
the most influential ballet master in ballet history becuase he internationally popularized danceand
his works made a long lasting impression. Petipa choreographed many famous ballets, and among
them, one of the most famous classical ballet in existence that he choreographed is Swan Lake. The
physicality of the movement made this ballet simply beautiful, but by combining music, costumes
and stage sets, Petipa created an extraordinary experience in the theater. Swan Lake is an elegant
and cherished ballet which tells the story of a prince who stumbles across a beautiful swan named
Odette. She was once a human princess but had been transformed by a heinous sorcerer s curse.
Petipa s choreography expressed romanticism and emerging symbolism, which revolutionized the
Russian culture. On January 15,1895, the Petipa production in ST. Petersburg was the day ballet
developed from a man s most magnificant and artistic creations. Petipa simplified the structure of

The Pros And Cons Of A Biological Weapon
It seems to me that the most realistic threat to our nation is that of a Biological Weapon [BW].
First, biological weapons are naturally occurring and easy to come by, such as anthrax. Not to
mention the fact that it s been successfully used as weapon in the past (Anthrax, 2015). Secondly,
biological weapons can cause far more death and injury with smaller amounts. In 1993, a study by
the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment found that an attack on Washington D.C.
using 100 kilograms of anthrax would prove to be far more deadly that an attack on the same area
using a 1 megaton hydrogen bomb (Katz, 2013). The viability of a biological weapon sample doesn
t seem to be in question, in my opinion, as it is naturally occurring to begin with. The only issue
would be the attacker or attackers insuring that they protect themselves. Another concern with the
biological weapons is the recent advances in technology, including DNA synthesis. Meaning that in
the near future, any naturally occurring bio weapon could be re produced ... Show more content on

There would be enormous difficulty in even a skilled terrorist building and deploying a nuclear
bomb. Additionally, even if that same terrorist got his hands on an American nuclear weapon, it is
highly unlikely that they d have the ability to detonate it (Cravens, 2016). The biggest threat our
nation faces today in terms of a nuclear attack seems to be that of the threat posed by the North
Korean regime who has successfully tested multiple long range missiles in recent months
(Robertson Masters, 2017). Radiological weapons, often called dirty bombs, are a different story.
The terrorist requires very little expertise and the items needed to complete the weapon are widely
available. Although the casualties are limited, it can have both immediate and long term effects on

The Polarization Of America s Political Parties
In Chapter 8 of his book Red State, Blue State, Rich State, Poor State, Gelman discusses the
polarization of America s political parties. It is often stated that America is becoming more
polarized, but the only evidence thus far is that politicians are the ones who are actually further
apart. People complain that polarization is breaking the country apart and impeding government
action. On the other hand, polarization does have certain benefits in that it makes it easier for
uniformed voters to easily select candidates. The author develops ways to measure political
divisions and arguments to determine if division in America is a real phenomenon. Gelman does
this because he wants to determine if it is the voters, the politicians, or both who are polarized in
contemporary society and if it is actually increasing. At a basic level, since the 1970s, Republican
and Democrat voters have taken a progressively adverse view of the other party s members. To
further measure polarization, the author defines three types of polarization: partisan polarization,
opinion radicalization, and issue alignment. Partisan polarization is the sorting of people into the
two major parties in the US, which now has all liberals and all conservatives in separate parties.
This is unlike the southern Democrats and liberal Republicans in the past. Opinion radicalization is
the process in which people gravitate away from the political center to more extreme positions. The
author states that this effect

Overview of Endometriosis Essay
Endometriosis affects 10% of reproductive age women (Yale School of Medicine). It affects
nearly 176 million women, ranging from 15 49, all over the world (World Endometriosis, 2011).
Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your
uterus the endometrium grows outside your uterus (endometrial implant) (Mayo Clinic, 2013) It
most commonly involves your ovaries and the lining of the pelvis, but in extreme cases can spread
to other parts of the body. The displaced tissue continues to act like it normally would in the uterus,
thickening and breaking down with each menstrual cycle. Since the displaced tissue has nowhere to
go, it becomes trapped with no way to get out (Mayo Clinic, 2013).... Show more content on

Although there are things that may possibly be linked to a person having endometriosis, there is no
definitive origin of endometriosis. Women of all types can be diagnosed with this disease.
There are many different risk factors for endometriosis. Never giving birth, having relatives
diagnosed with endometriosis, medical conditions that prevents the flow of normal menstruation,
any history of pelvic infection, or uterine abnormalities are all examples of possible risk factors
for endometriosis (Mayo Clinic, 2013). Having endometriosis increases a woman s chances of
infertility as well as possibly developing ovarian cancer.
Infertility and ovarian cancer are very serious problems that can be developed in women with
endometriosis. Infertility is the main problem associated with endometriosis. It can be a major
setback for seemingly healthy couples that want to start a family. Endometriosis is associated with
infertility in 30 40% of sufferers (World Endometriosis, 2011) The presence of endometriosis may
involve masses of tissue or scarring (adhesions) within the pelvis that may distort normal anatomical
structures, such as Fallopian tubes, which transport the eggs from the ovaries. Alternatively,
endometriosis may affect fertility through the production of hormones and other substances that
have a negative effect on ovulation, fertilization of the egg, and/or implantation of the embryo
(MedicineNet, 2013). Although

The Rise of Silas Lapham by William Dean Howells
In the novel, The Rise of Silas Lapham, William Dean Howells makes a particular point about
the morals of an individual in the business world. His point is that an individual, such as Silas,
must check their morals at the door if they have any plans to make it in the business world. The
novel has always been popular, partly because it presents Lapham s financial and social failure as
consciously and deliberately chosen when he has to decide whether he shall cheat and stay on top

Obviously the pressures of big business would be much tougher to deal with in a big city, like
Boston, than in a small rural farm town, because the competition to be the best is much greater
in the urban areas. The time period in which the story is set, the late 1800 s, is also a crucial part
of the puzzle. All throughout the early 1800 s up until the present, big business has been on the
rise. When large companies started setting up in cities, people moved to where the jobs were,
and soon small towns became gigantic urban metropolises. The big business is what ultimately
causes Silas moral rise and financial fall, and that is a crucial part of the plot. If the story where
set in a different time period it would not have as big an impact. Also during the late 1800 s,
social standing was very important. In those days a person was measured by their social
standing, so it meant everything. The reason this is important is because, interwoven in the main
plot is a secondary plot. This secondary plot has to do with the love triangle between Penelope
Lapham, Irene Lapham, and Tom Corey. Everyone seems to think that Tom and Irene are in love
with each other, while in actuality it is Tom and Penelope that are in love. This secondary plot
only adds to Silas and Mrs. Corey s inner struggles. If the story where not set in this time period,
the social impact on the plot would also not be as great. Another aspect of the setting is the house

For parents to be having such a large concern over whether children s programming is becoming
to sexually inappropriate demonstrates that times are changing and more of this sexual content
is being found. In 2011, a study was completed that found TV was the medium where youth were
most likely to encounter sexual content, with three quarters of kids saying they had seen sexual
material there, which shows that this is becoming an increasing problem (Saskatchewan
Prevention Institute, 2012, pg. 12). Not only are these scenes being included in adolescent
shows like Gossip Girl or One Tree Hill, they are being found in tween shows like Hannah
Montana as well as a majority of shows and movies for children like The Little Mermaid, The
Lion King, and Animaniacs. Children being exposed to these types of media to early is creating
effects that can either be informational or detrimental to the future of a child s life. The author of a

The History Of Greek Mythology
Greek mythology is used for the explanation on how humankind lived. Religion was the main
source of myths. There were many things it was used for like the explanation on how Gods,
Goddesses, monsters and mythical creatures lived in ancient times. This mythology explained the
origin of gods and their lifestyle and where humanity would go after death. The original gods
were Uranus and Gaia. They had a total twelve Titans, one of the most known and powerful Titan
was named Iapetus, he repr. During the Golden Age when Uranus was defeated, Iapetus was in
charge of the Western part of the mythological world, until he was defeated by Zeusand imprisoned.

Cronus were not the exception. These events between Titan and Olympians lasted ten years of war

The Preferred Approach From The Perspective Of The Employee
4:2:3 Findings: Theme 4: The preferred approach from the perspective of the employee
To investigate the preferred approach of the ITM from employee s perspective, two types of data
were needed. One is data indicating the direct preference of the employee and two is data indicating
satisfaction with ITM being approached in that manner. To determine these two, the questionnaire
had relevant questions. The first question of interest was 11. Internal talent management is better
than external talent management. The second question of interest is question 10 which directly
addresses the issue of satisfaction as a consequence of ITM programs. Question 11. ITM programs
improve my job satisfaction levels.
To find out which approach is preferred, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How satisfaction relates to the level of ITM present also relates to how groups are perceived.
What this means is that in order to get a better idea of how important ITM is to the company,
there needed to be data of all employees regardless of position or rank. What this means is that
there is a greater possibly of employees just being treated as employees instead of specific
opinion but this too can open doors for further evidence concerning ITM. How question 10 is
perceived about satisfaction may have little to do with rank or culture but more so how values
are communicated to the employee. As all employees only Agree or Strongly Agree which leads
one to see how setting the scale for employees only regardless of rank works better to determine
the level of satisfaction as it relates to ITM. Suppose the idea here is that with ITM being used,
there is greater levels of satisfaction at work and greater rates of people being loyal to the
company. With mean scores averaging between 52 percent and 57 percent toward Agree or
Strongly Agree ranges, this validates the idea that satisfaction is a very important result of ITM
practices and strategies. How this relates to the bigger picture only suggests more so that
employees care about the level of talent being promoted at each company and this is evident in both
companies mean results. Question 10

  • 2. Christopher Gonzalez I admire the simple, humble heart of people, showing as they care about others, not trying to impress anyone or be the center of attention. Especially for its ability to respect others. When I admire someone, I do it by looking at many things, but never at his physical appearance or economic status. In order to admire someone, that personhas to have qualities that money cannot buy. Many people loop at the physical appearance, the way we dress, and the material things this person possesses or gives. To me it should not be that way. Although this person has been through a lot in his life, he has never lost hope and desire to move forward. He does not give up easily, but continues with his modesty and good heart. I had the opportunity to meet him a year ago by the social network, Instagram. Although we are not together physically, we communicate daily either by phone, video, call or text. The person who has earned my admiration is Christopher Gonzalez. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We have laughed, cried and had many ups and downs but we have faith in God and he has always been present in our relationship. • 3. Good For Her, Not Me, By Amy Poehler Good for her, not me. That is the motto women should constantly repeat over and over again. Good for her, not me, (Poehler 32). This line from Amy Poehler s new memoir, Yes Please, is reminding women to take a step back from the so called Mommy Wars and remember that not everything is a competition one style of parenting may be good for her , but not for me . The idea that women need to be reminded of this is a little ridiculous, but then again the concept of mother versus mother warfare is even more ridiculous. With the influence of the media, society has been forced into the debate of who is the better mother. Mother blaming has become the cultural norm and is fueled by the media s depiction of motherhood. Dividing women into two categories, the stay at home mom vs the working mother, results in the dimming of women s power: mothers being pinned against one another are unable to band together and insist on social changes that would benefit all parents. This cultural emphasis on Mommy Wars is yet another way our patriarchal society continues to oppresses women today. For example, look at motherhood according to TV throughout the decades. You ll be able to find a plethora of examples of how the media idolizes the perfect mother and depicts motherhood to society in a way that has negatively affected mothers throughout the ages. In the 50s and 60s the TV showed June Cleaver, on the sitcom Leave It To Beaver, puttering around the Herman 2 house in pearls and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Characteristics Of The DISC Model Of Human Behavior The DISC model of human behavior is a simple key to understand how people behave and how they are motivated. Twenty four hundred years ago, scientists and philosophers, most notably Hippocrates, began to recognize and categorize differences in behavior that seemed to follow a pattern. Since then, many psychologists and scientists have explored behavioral patterns. The initial DISC model comes from Dr. William Marston, a physiological psychologist, in a book entitled Emotions of Normal People, published in 1928. He did not create an instrument from his theory, but others did. DISC is the leading personal assessment tool used by over 1 million people every year to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. I believe the public sector must adopt this DISC test before recruitments in order to avoid social loafing (Max Ringelmann ,1913), the phenomenon of people exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they work in a group than when they work alone. The DISC model is the universal language of observable human behavior. Each letter has its own meaning. D (Dominance) is how people respond to problems and challenges. I... As Andreas Schedler mentions in his journal, PRI brought the end to armed strife between regional warlords and rival revolutionary factions by its foundation (pg 5, Schedler, 2000) . Besides in accordance to the 2000 released article from the Economist, PRI used to fund the opposition political parties in order to maintain their existence in politics (The Economist, 2000). In brief, the PRI govern on the basis on collaboration, not on coercion. Ethnocentrism vs. Patriotism Along with what mentioned above, the contention of tripartite parties in Nigeria that encourages Ethnocentrism to splinters internal society contradicts to the national harmonization in Mexico. The contrast of Nigeria s ethnocentrism and Mexico s patriotism is well presented in their story of oil revenue. Both have received considerable attention in the International market as the significant oil producers. In the case of Nigeria, despite the great fortune, unequal share of oil revenue and prevailing corruptions around oil revenue provoked the increased political tensions among regional ... Understanding and determining what drives people to terrorism is no easy task. Why do people choose to commit acts of terrorism? Why do people choose to become rebellious and wreak havoc on so many innocent civilians? Combs discusses the different types of terrorists as suggested by Frederick Hacker who was a Vienna born psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and expert on aggression and terrorism. • 10. The Effect Of Temperature And Reactant Concentration On... This experiment aimed to investigate the relationship between temperature and reactant concentration on the rate of reaction for the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride, and to determine the validity of the proposed mechanism for the reaction. It was hypothesised that measuring the kinetics of this unimolecular substitution reaction would demonstrate the reaction ratefor the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride utilising acetone as the solventwhich should increase with both its increased concentration and temperature, to produce the product tert Butyl alcohol. When the solution of tert butyl chloride in acetone is added to water in the presence of a base and a universal indicator, its reaction to form tert butyl alcohol is indicated by dramatic color change. Bromothymol blue is an acid base indicator which appears blue in an alkaline medium and yellow in an acidic solution (Artxy, 2011). The solvolysis of tert butyl chloride is revealed by the indicator change from blue to yellow as hydrogen halide is produced during the reaction (Mostafa, 2009). The solution is initially blue because of its Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) content (alkaline), and the colour change results as aqueous chlorine removes a proton from the transition state, while the generated hydrogen ions neutralise the hydroxide ions of the NaOH, causing the change in the pH of the system (Riley, 1977). This qualitatively determines that the rate of reaction is dependent on the concentration of tert butyl chloride. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Best Route For Nuanced And Equitable Access For... It is almost a conundrum to consider the best route for nuanced and equitable access for information. I think on some level the words nuanced and equitable contradict each other. These words can be understood as existing on a continuum. On one end there are the nuanced (i.e. more precise or expert) classification systems which tend to serve the skilled searcher very well, and the novice searcher very badly. Unless you are familiar with the controlled vocabulary you are unlikely to find answers. On the other end of the spectrum there are equitable classification systems which, in the struggle to make the search easy and possible for all, lose the nuance needed to find what is specifically sought. Search engines for example, are broad and constrained by very few search rules. The knowledge gained from a search engine can be found by nearly anyone with basic knowledge. The results returned from many poorly constructed searches, however, are generic and the number of results can be so broad as to be meaningless. So which is better? To have an access system so stringent that a layperson will have a difficult time retrieving results? Or have an access system so open that anyone can retrieve results, but the results may not be as relevant as they need to be? As usual, the answer lies in finding a happy medium. I believe the best route for creating access to cultural heritage information, a way to have the best of both nuance and equity, is to employ a system that has a public ... The Indian Removal stands as one of the cruelest periods in the history of the United States, and is the result of a long history of war and disagreement between whites and Indians. Indians and Europeans had their differences. The culture of the Indian tribes was very different than that of the incoming white settlers. Indian nations held a deep respect for nature, and felt that the land belonged to no individual. The white European settlers believed in private land ownership. However, in spite of these differences, some white settlers and Indians developed successful trade relationships. Still, Indians were long regarded as savages by white Europeans . Spaniards treated them with extreme brutality, imprisoning Indians and confiscating their lands. And as time passed, Indians and Europeans would begin to fight over land claims. 200 years later, Indians and Europeans had several written treaties, but the Europeans often ignored the treaties and encroached on Native territory. Their names were Catherine de Medici and King Louis XIV. Victor Marius Alphonse Petipa was also a very well known French ballet dancer, teacher and choreographer. He is considered to be the most influential ballet master in ballet history becuase he internationally popularized danceand his works made a long lasting impression. Petipa choreographed many famous ballets, and among them, one of the most famous classical ballet in existence that he choreographed is Swan Lake. The physicality of the movement made this ballet simply beautiful, but by combining music, costumes and stage sets, Petipa created an extraordinary experience in the theater. Swan Lake is an elegant and cherished ballet which tells the story of a prince who stumbles across a beautiful swan named Odette. She was once a human princess but had been transformed by a heinous sorcerer s curse. Petipa s choreography expressed romanticism and emerging symbolism, which revolutionized the Russian culture. On January 15,1895, the Petipa production in ST. Petersburg was the day ballet developed from a man s most magnificant and artistic creations. • 29. The Pros And Cons Of A Biological Weapon It seems to me that the most realistic threat to our nation is that of a Biological Weapon [BW]. First, biological weapons are naturally occurring and easy to come by, such as anthrax. Not to mention the fact that it s been successfully used as weapon in the past (Anthrax, 2015). Secondly, biological weapons can cause far more death and injury with smaller amounts. In 1993, a study by the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment found that an attack on Washington D.C. using 100 kilograms of anthrax would prove to be far more deadly that an attack on the same area using a 1 megaton hydrogen bomb (Katz, 2013). The viability of a biological weapon sample doesn t seem to be in question, in my opinion, as it is naturally occurring to begin with. The only issue would be the attacker or attackers insuring that they protect themselves. Another concern with the biological weapons is the recent advances in technology, including DNA synthesis. Meaning that in the near future, any naturally occurring bio weapon could be re produced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There would be enormous difficulty in even a skilled terrorist building and deploying a nuclear bomb. The biggest threat our nation faces today in terms of a nuclear attack seems to be that of the threat posed by the North Korean regime who has successfully tested multiple long range missiles in recent months (Robertson Masters, 2017). Radiological weapons, often called dirty bombs, are a different story. The terrorist requires very little expertise and the items needed to complete the weapon are widely available. • 30. The Polarization Of America s Political Parties In Chapter 8 of his book Red State, Blue State, Rich State, Poor State, Gelman discusses the polarization of America s political parties. It is often stated that America is becoming more polarized, but the only evidence thus far is that politicians are the ones who are actually further apart. People complain that polarization is breaking the country apart and impeding government action. On the other hand, polarization does have certain benefits in that it makes it easier for uniformed voters to easily select candidates. The author develops ways to measure political divisions and arguments to determine if division in America is a real phenomenon. Gelman does this because he wants to determine if it is the voters, the politicians, or both who are polarized in contemporary society and if it is actually increasing. At a basic level, since the 1970s, Republican and Democrat voters have taken a progressively adverse view of the other party s members. To further measure polarization, the author defines three types of polarization: partisan polarization, opinion radicalization, and issue alignment. Partisan polarization is the sorting of people into the two major parties in the US, which now has all liberals and all conservatives in separate parties. This is unlike the southern Democrats and liberal Republicans in the past. Opinion radicalization is the process in which people gravitate away from the political center to more extreme positions. The author states that this effect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It affects nearly 176 million women, ranging from 15 49, all over the world (World Endometriosis, 2011). Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus the endometrium grows outside your uterus (endometrial implant) (Mayo Clinic, 2013) It most commonly involves your ovaries and the lining of the pelvis, but in extreme cases can spread to other parts of the body. The displaced tissue continues to act like it normally would in the uterus, thickening and breaking down with each menstrual cycle. Although there are things that may possibly be linked to a person having endometriosis, there is no definitive origin of endometriosis. Women of all types can be diagnosed with this disease. There are many different risk factors for endometriosis. Never giving birth, having relatives diagnosed with endometriosis, medical conditions that prevents the flow of normal menstruation, any history of pelvic infection, or uterine abnormalities are all examples of possible risk factors for endometriosis (Mayo Clinic, 2013). Having endometriosis increases a woman s chances of infertility as well as possibly developing ovarian cancer. Infertility and ovarian cancer are very serious problems that can be developed in women with endometriosis. Infertility is the main problem associated with endometriosis. The Rise of Silas Lapham by William Dean Howells Essay The Rise of Silas Lapham by William Dean Howells In the novel, The Rise of Silas Lapham, William Dean Howells makes a particular point about the morals of an individual in the business world. His point is that an individual, such as Silas, must check their morals at the door if they have any plans to make it in the business world. The novel has always been popular, partly because it presents Lapham s financial and social failure as consciously and deliberately chosen when he has to decide whether he shall cheat and stay on top in business or tell the truth and fail irrecoverably (Gibson 283). Obviously the pressures of big business would be much tougher to deal with in a big city, like Boston, than in a small rural farm town, because the competition to be the best is much greater in the urban areas. The time period in which the story is set, the late 1800 s, is also a crucial part of the puzzle. All throughout the early 1800 s up until the present, big business has been on the rise. When large companies started setting up in cities, people moved to where the jobs were, and soon small towns became gigantic urban metropolises. The big business is what ultimately causes Silas moral rise and financial fall, and that is a crucial part of the plot. If the story where set in a different time period it would not have as big an impact. Also during the late 1800 s, social standing was very important. In those days a person was measured by their social standing, so it meant everything. The reason this is important is because, interwoven in the main plot is a secondary plot. This secondary plot has to do with the love triangle between Penelope Lapham, Irene Lapham, and Tom Corey. Everyone seems to think that Tom and Irene are in love with each other, while in actuality it is Tom and Penelope that are in love.
