The Sociopath Next Door Analysis
12 Million Americans are sociopaths that means every time you find yourself in a group of 25
people you can expect there is at least one individual without a conscience. Contrary to popular
belief, according to Martha Stout in her book The Sociopath Next Door, only about 20% of
these people are in prison. Sociopaths are smart and the psychological game they play is not
always illegal and even when it is the authorities rarely get involved and civil attorneys seem to be
very reluctant. Considering the implications and the lack of new books on the subject, I originally
read Dr. Stout s book in 2007 and recently revisited it on audio. Like a sequence of short stories,
through actual cases from her psychotherapy practice, Martha Stout develops

How Did The Collapse Of Capitalism
I agree with Karl Marx statement about capitalism. Marx felt that capitalism through
industrialization had increased the productive capability or power of the world s economy far
beyond what individuals had ever witnessed before. Despite this fact, Marx also felt that
capitalism created two different classes of people that were competing with each other on social
hierarchy. First, was the bourgeoisie who owned and controlled the means of creating a
production, and they also hired wage laborers to distribute their production. Second, was the
proletariat, who were mere common workers who owned nothing of a real production or any real
power to hired many workers. They had the right through to sell their own labor. Capitalisms
foundation is that it ensures these classes would struggle against one another. To the point where
the class of workers would become massive, and oppressed each other enough that it would
overthrow the bourgeoisie. Moreover, capitalism social classes would seize the means of production
from bourgeoisie and end the economic system eventually. The system of socialismwould be
ushered in and would gradually develop into pure communism.
Capitalism in my opinion, has been the subject of criticism or backlash from many perspectives
during its history. Criticisms mostly ranges from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marx defined capitalism as a social economic relation between people, rather than between people
or things in the grand scheme of it. Furthermore, individuals or the general population wanted to
abolish capitalism. They believe that private ownership of the means of production enriches

families. Lastly, individuals argue that the owners of the means of production exploit the workforce

Value of Flexible Management
Introduction
Prior to researching this topic, my impression of management was limited. My concept was meshed
within the framework of business and economics. Therefore, my definition of this construct was in
error. For rectification, and foundational reference, management is the process of directing
resources towards the accomplishment of a specific goal. This definition, one that I have derived
from the compilation of many, incorporates two key variables. The first operative word in this
definition is resources. Resources can mean anything from money, employees, athletes, students, or
just about any organized effort, group or cohort. The other functional variable in this definition is
goal. The goal or aim of the organized effort can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also know as directive management, managers tell their subordinates what to do, how to do it and
when to have it completed by (Coye Belohlav, 1995, p 16). They assign roles and responsibilities,
set standards, and define expectations. Within this style of management communication is one way,
and go from management to resources. For example, when the manager speaks the employee listens
and reacts.
As defined above, the purpose of management is to direct resources toward a goal. In autocratic
management, the manager sets all goals with specific deadlines to track progress. The autocratic
manager is the principal of the decision making process. When a problem arise the resources report
to the manager and the manager evaluates the options and makes the decision as to the direction
and action that should be taken (Coye Belohlav, 1995). In terms of management feedback, the
autocratic style of management calls for detailed instructions of changes that need to be made to
the final product. Any rewards and recognition bestowed by autocratic managers are dictated by
how well people follow directions.
A perfect illustration of a working application of the autocratic style of management can be seen
though the management employed in United States Military. Within the military the ranking
system sets a scene for the role of the manager. In accordance with a strict chain of commands,

Schizophrenic Theory
Not only is the cause of schizophrenia undetermined but also the diagnosis is a challenging process.
According to Reddy, R., and Keshavan, M. S. in Understanding schizophrenia (2015), there is not a
laboratory test or a single clinical factor that medical personnel can rely on when diagnosing this
disease. Health professional have to rely only on the signs and symptoms that the individual is
showing. Some schizophrenic patients present an image of healthy individuals with high energy,
which barely raises the questions about health and nutrition. Even when the individual s appearance
is normal there still a subtle abnormality. There is an excessive brightness of the eyes, and the high

Water Quality And Water Pollution
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background information
Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health
as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh
water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to
environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into
aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that
humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues
(UNESCO, 2009).
The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either
through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of
the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The
relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education
interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate
(Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of
pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health.
Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the
water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollutionaffects flora and organisms

Jane Eyre Wide Sargasso Sea Essay
Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea haunts the narrative of Jane Eyre through the construction and
recognition of the uncanny. Rhys incorporates the uncanny within her rewriting of Jane Eyre
through the utilization of narrative devices and ambiguous representations of physical spaces. By
rewriting Jane Eyre, Rhys attempts to construct a history that is not only detached from the
dominant world established in Jane Eyre, but grounded within the hauntological realm of the
Caribbean. The hauntological realm in which Rhys constructs, not only provides a degree of agency
within a realm of uncertainty, but establishes a degree of restraint too.
Megan Mericle argued that both Jane Eyre (1847) and Wide Sargasso Sea (1966) suggests the
liberation of their respective female protagonist from the oppressive conventions in which they find
themselves captive (Mericle 2012, 236). While BrontГ« s Jane Eyre asserts the independence of
Jane Eyre to have derived through her escape from restrictive patriarchal conventions, Rhys Wide

The Ancient Aztecs Complex and Advanced Civilization. The Aztecs were a civilization that
emerged in Mesoamerica around the start of the thirteenth century and existed until 1521 CE. The
Aztecs had their own system of government, a very complex religion, and sports and games were
very important to the civilization. The Aztecs were a civilization that was complex as well as very
advanced in many different areas of their civilization such as their government, religion, and sports.
An area of the Aztecs civilization that was very complex and advanced was their government. The

where the majority of Aztec nobles and other government leaders lived as city leaders led the

Similarities And Differences Between Summer And Winter
Summer and winter are both very nice seasons. Many people like both of these seasons, but really
these two seasons have nothing in common. Winter is the season that has more activities and can
do more of the summer activities making it better. They have different clothing and different
amounts of clothing, they both have animals, but this is also different in each season, they have
different foods and different temperature of foods and they also have different activities that adapt
to the type of weather in these seasons.
The difference in clothing is a really big difference in types of cloths but also in the amount of
cloths. In the summer, people were cloths that are usually one layer at most. These clothes usually
consist of shorts and tank tops or t shirts. In the winter people wear clothes that are a lot more
heavily coated. In the winter people tend to wear a t shirt underneath a sweater. This is because
the winter can be warmer than usual and that is when you take off your sweater. Then usually
people wear a big, big coats when it starts colder. When you get cold than you can always add
layers. In the summer you only can take off so many clothes. When kids go outside, then they also
will use their snow pants when they play in the snow. In the summer people usually where there
flip flops and other things like that which could also include runners. In the winter people wear
boots and this will keep your feet very warm compared to what you would were in the summer.

Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier Essay example
Cold Mountain
In Charles Frazier s Cold Mountain, the theme of music is one of the novel s most powerful themes.
From symbolizing character growth to the healing of physical wounds, music plays an integral part
in this novel. While many critics will point out that music has little effect on the human psyche,
Charles Frazier shows his belief that music does indeed have a profound effect on the human mind
throughout Cold Mountain. Throughout the novel, Inman, Ada, Ruby, Stobrod, and many other
characters experience music that allows them to keep faith against the odds or even heal their
wounds! There are three major types of music used in this novel; hymn music, folk music, and
natural music . It is through these types of music that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Monroe preached that they were misunderstanding the song if they fooled themselves into
thinking all creation would someday love them. What it really required was for them to love all
creation (78). Monroe used the hymns of his church as a means to spread his ideas of how
people ought to live their lives. This pattern is also apparent with Inman. When he meets
Swimmer, a Native American, he learns of a chant that could kill the soul of an enemy (20).
Inman cannot accept this notion because he had been taught by sermon and hymn to hold as truth
that the soul of man never dies (20). Charles Frazier believed in the power of hymn to influence
what people believed about spirituality and the soul. This parallels the historical usage of hymns
in church during the Civil War as well as in today s church as a means to pass down culture. Hymn
music also had the ability to strengthen the Church and to solidify the beliefs of the parishioners.
There is a large disagreement over the influence of religious music over a person s beliefs. The
evangelical song leaders believed that religious music moved people with no faith to a life
dedicated to praising God, but people from outside the church described religious music as cheap
and tawdry (Squire 242). According to the United Evangelical Front religious music was a way to
articulate God s plan and extend the influence of religion outside of the church

Art of the Egyptians and Africans
Art of the Egyptians and Africans
Art of the Egyptians and Africans express .............................In art, style is a characteristic, or a
number of characteristics that we can identify as constant, recurring, or coherent.(Art Terminology
1) Artists express their emotions through their art making, their finished product will reflect that
emotion. They might also create a piece of art that makes the viewer create an emotional response.
Emotion is any strong agitation of the feelings actuated by experiencing love, hate, fear,

Ancient Egyptian art is five thousand years old. It emerged and took shape in the ancient Egypt, the
civilization of the Nile Valley. Ancient Egyptian art was shown with emotion beautifully in painting
and sculpture, and was both highly symbolic and stylized. The exceptional traditions in Egypt is one
of the most important things in the history of art. The tombs and temples of the Egyptians have
expressed the grandeur of the kingdom of the Nile. Egyptian sculptors and painters began to
formulate patterns to represent figures and stories. Egyptians used the art to represent a
continuation of life after death, it was an important part of their culture. They believed that, in
order for the spirit to live on, the dead person s body had to be preserved, or mummified, and
buried along with supplies of food and drink, tools and utensils, valued possessions. (Scholastic)

Hate crimes are a second major hurdle Muslims need to jump. Hate crimes are issues that,
regardless of political opinion, need to be addressed. Conservatives and liberals alike all agree
that persecution of one s beliefs is wrong. Hate crimes have been on the rise ever since terrorists

Islamophobic attacks have been destroying communities internationally; everything from shootings,

Water s Influence on Settements in Egypt
The settlement of a town had to take two main considerations into mind, the accessibility to a
water source and the height it was built above the flooding of the Nile. The mud brick buildings
were sensitive to water and damp conditions, so care had to be taken when considering the
placement of a house, town or city. When houses did crumble or fall apart, new houses were
simply built upon the ruins of the former house. This led to houses and towns being built on more
elevated surfaces. These hills are called tells. The permanent structures like temples and their
surrounding enclosures are now on a lower floor level this would be the original level as temples
were not generally built or renewed upon each other as the houses were. This method of building
one house upon the other continued until the building of the Aswan Dam in the late 1960 s,
making excavations of the housing areas was virtually impossible. This has left a scarcity of data

The Snow Child Angela Carter Sparknotes
The Snow Child Analysis
The novel The Snow Child written by Angela Carter, is a gothic horror retelling of the classic
fairytale Snow White . Carter, though using this fairytale as the fundamental origin of the story,
evidently distances herself from a fairy tale s usual features in the tense, plot and storyline of the
novel.
The characters we meet throughout the story are the Count, his Countess and the girl, or as stated
the Snow Child . In terms of direct description we don t obtain much on the Count though we get to
know him and build our own picture of him whilst reading; an underlying cause of this could be the
universal way that his masculine character is presented as; the image of a powerful husband who

The reason for this is that since the girl fulfilled her cause of being a sexual object, she was no
longer needed alive or expected to enjoy the sexual act, thus resulting in the Count raping her
corpse. The compromise that the couple has come to isn t ideal but it is beneficial for both
parties. Shortly after the act of sex the girl melts away, insignificant and no longer needed by the
Count as the Countess attains her fur and clothes, announcing the reestablishment of her
position. This is further proven by the fact that the Count hands the Countess the rose that the
girl was supposed to bring for her. Upon touching the rose, the Countess too pricks herself and
drops it announcing It bites! . The rose could symbolise several elements that add to the
complexity of the novel. It could be the love of the Count, which would explain how the Count
could hold it and give it freely but also why the girl died when touching it; it wasn t hers to take.
The final line It bites! could indicate a series of explanations; each as compatible as the previous.
She is either refusing the rose, and with it his love, has known of its deadliness or has herself

unclear in many respects. Politicians have debates over the Constitutiondue to the reason that it is
difficult to figure out what the Framers meant when they originally wrote the Constitution.
According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the authority to decide if a law passed by
Congress is Constitutional. However, the vagueness of the Constitution allows for the Supreme
Court to interpret the Constitution differently since they have to figure out how to apply it to the
twenty first century.
The vagueness of constitution, while enabling the country to progress, has also been the source of
conflict among the individuals in government office. In terms of the Supreme Court, there is a
fundamental philosophical debate on how the vagueness of the constitution should be interpreted.
Both sides adhere strictly to the written words of the Constitution there is no debate about that. But
much of the constitutional rhetoric is open for interpretation, creating two schools of thought. The
first thought, originalism argues that the Supreme Court should interpret the constitution solely to
reflect the original views of the framers. Not only should the exact text be considered, but

Importance Of Management And Leadership Within Public Health
IMPORTANCE OF MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP WITHIN PUBLIC HEALTH
INTRODUCTION
This essay explains the meaning of management and leadership, emphasizing on the various
theories, models and styles of these concepts. Management and leadership skills are also outlined.
These are then related to public health and analyzed to suggest what is most suitable and can be
applied in the public health setting.
MANAGENENT AND LEADERSHIP
The concepts of leadership and management are often viewed in different ways with different
theories and schools of thought regarding the meaning of these terms (Gold, Thorpe and Mumford,
2010). Management and leadership can be defined individually and encompass different roles and
attributes, however, both management and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the outcome at the end of the day, it is the manager who is responsible. This means that
rather than forces or facts, it is people that manage; and the perception, commitment and
accountability of managers are the determining factors of success of failure when it comes to
management. Therefore, it can be deduced that managers act or execute plans but it is management
that determines if goals are going to be achieved or not by bringing people and tasks together
(Drucker, 2012). Management is what holds an institution together and makes it work (Drucker,
2012).
Likewise, leadership is multi faceted and can apply to many different situations (Stanfield,
2009). E sa (2012) described leadership as getting people to perform tasks in order to achieve
certain aims. Stanfield argues that leadership is largely based on experience and does not
necessarily depend on the number of followers and that to be able to lead effectively; one must
also be able to follow. This is supported by Adeniyi (2010) who adds that there are many forms of
leadership and leaders possess different traits and temperaments. Stanfield states that factors such as
moral standards and integrity play a role in effective leadership. Leaders are often said to
charismatic and possessing the skill that enables them to draw others to their visions or ideas.
Although seen as a good quality, he points out that charisma can be either constructive or
destructive, depending on how it is channeled

Ethics Of The Chief Of Police
Smallville is in need of the chief of police that will lead the officers in matters of diversity and
equality. While coming up with a policy that addresses generalizations that are harmful and
counterproductive, there is a need for police departments and politicians to recognize the need for
ethical application of various criminal behaviors that may encumber policeofficers and that can
wreck harm unnecessary harm to the other public sectors. Personally, I am against any exercise
of negative stereotype as a foundation for policing because it is unethical and illegal and a police
department that practices such need not to be born. I believe it is something noble about
someone that has been thinking positively about police department activities and is not afraid to
grapple with such issues to paper and try to work them out with a focus. Potentially, there is a
demand to hold internal training programs with no added cost; senior officer will be asked to
teach a course on how an officer can deal with situations whenever faced with conditions that are
life endangering. The US Department offers a program that is targeted at law enforcement. We will
establish our own internally to supply officers with the power to distinguish effectively the role of
the protestor devices or the individual under arrest, ability to discuss optimally the fundamental
legal issues that are linked up with arrests and further be able to outline responsibilities that each

Moreover, researcher Torgeson and a group of his colleagues, conducted extensive research in 2007
regarding academic literacy for adolescents. Their findings pinpointed six critical factors underlying
proficient reading performance at the late elementary, middle and high school levels. They are:
Fluency of text reading
Vocabulary or the breadth and depth of knowledge about the meaning of words;
Active and flexible use of reading strategies to enhance comprehension;
Background, or prior knowledge related to the content of the text being read;
Higher level reasoning and thinking skills; and
Motivation and engagement for understanding and learning from text (2007, p. 5).
With these critical factors identified, I chose to focus on four components that result in barriers to
comprehension and literacy when not in place. Those include insufficient vocabulary, background
knowledge and motivation and engagement.
Addressing the barriers with research based strategies is the way to improve literacy. According to
the U.S. Department of Education, Many content area teachers do not realize the importance of

Pricing Choices Should Anticipate Competitor Reactions
5.2The second P Price
When considering options around pricing there is four areas that need to be taken into consideration.
пѓ The price should be based on the value it provides to a customer, not the cost of producing it
(Whitwell 2003).
пѓ Different customers attach differing levels of value to a product and should be targeted in
differing manners (Whitwell 2003).
пѓ Pricing choices should anticipate competitor reactions (Whitwell 2003).
пѓ The price offered should be in alignment with the businesses long run plans and objectives
(Whitwell 2003).
It should also be pointed out that there is inherent limitations with pricing as areas such as the
elasticity of demand (Hubbard 2012) and brand positioning (Armstrong 2012) will influence
customer spending habits (Nagel 2002) and spend thresholds. That said a pricing plan for Advanta
chill will be discussed and explained how this can be done effectively within the confines of a
marketing mix. This will be done via applying each of the four points of consideration listed above.
пѓ Pricing based on customer value As the Advanta chill has been developed to address a
customer s issue, namely allowing for retailers customers to be able to more ready access to frozen
or chilled goods. This would suggest a higher price point should be achievable as it will result in
increased sales for the retailer going forward.

Mass Media Communication
Definition
Mass media is a media intended for a large audience. It may take the form of broadcast media, as
in the case of television and radio, or print media, like newspapers and magazines. Internet media
can also attain mass media status, and many media outlets maintain a web presence to take
advantage of the ready availability of Internet in many regions of the world. Some people also
refer to it as the mainstream media, referencing the fact that it tends to stick to prominent stories
which will be of interest to a general audience, sometimes ignoring controversial breaking news.

Negative effects of Mass Media for teenagers, The exposure of sex images and excessive
portraits of violence in movies and dramas have instilled negative thoughts and taboos in the
mind of these teenagers for they have been consistently getting increased exposure to things
which are not suitable for their age. Thousands of advertisements on junk food, fast food, soft

anorexia in teenagers. This is one of the critical global problem of today which is threatening our
next generations for being unhealthy and being exposed to many serious diseases and sicknesses
such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problem and anorexia.
Women are obsessive with losing weight even if they are not being fat or obese. This is due to the
influence of the media in portraying that successful women are always thin. Many teenagers,
especially girls were greatly influenced with the slim figure of their favorite celebrity. As a results,
some of these teenage fans were so deep into the dieting and slimming concerns which lead them to
severe health issues and fatal death in serious situation.

In Both Sylvia Plath’S The Bell Jar And Kate Chopin’S The
In both Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar and Kate Chopin s The Awakening, the female protagonist is
portrayed as an artist who suffers from mental instability. Although the works were written over 60
years apart, The Awakening in 1889 and The Bell Jar in 1963, both novels were revolutionary for
their times in terms of feminism, extramarital sex, and suicide. Both works explore the ways that
females may temporarily escape, or attempt to escape, the confines of their own minds: the chains
that lead them to attempt or complete suicide. Each woman finds brightness in her art, Edna with
her painting and Esther through writing, immersion in water, and the ability to embrace her
sexuality. Both novels use vivid symbolism to portray the feelings of... Show more content on

Joyce Dyer comments that the bird and Edna resemble each other in another way; both are
meant to be wild, but are domesticated for the sake of the family. She even has Madame
Ratignolle feel [her] shoulder blades, to see if [her] wings were strong hoping that she too has
wings to allow her to fly away from the expectations of tradition set on her (Chopin 300.) While
Edna expresses that she is not thinking of any extraordinary flights, to Arobin, she does not deny
her wish to fly, and escape from society (300). Unlike before, when Edna wishes to have wings, in
this instance Edna realizes that she has wings, or the power to escape. This changes her true desires
from wanting to fly to not becoming one of the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to
earth (300). Although Edna has not acted upon her thoughts to become free, she is aware that she
has the power to escape and live outside of society. Through the bird symbolism, Chopin suggests
that women lack the ability to be happy within the circumstances society expects them to maintain.
Both women also find freedom through immersion in water. In The Bell Jar, Esther Greenwood
finds freedom in her baths. She takes baths to clean and purify herself from the grime of the world
around her, even saying I never feel so much myself as when I m in a hot bath (Plath 20). Edna

Vidal explains how it s the United States Governments fault because the crime spree would be
decreased. Vidal also believes that fighting against drugs is nearly as a big business as trying to

people easier access to them but also, taking away the thrill of getting them. For example, giving
people their wants only makes the person lose less value of their excitement which has to do a big
role in reverse psychology. To confuse people of their wants and needs.
2. Vidal addresses my concerns because drug dealing and the mafia business will decrease rapidly
and there would not be as much crimes in the American society. Yes, Vidal does consider both
sides of the issue because he there is a combination of sin and money between the mafia and the
American people. Both of the combinations of sin and money are two most valuable things because

The wealth and expansion of the Roman Republic led to the creation of new social classes. Their
art was meant to show power and influence. They created realistic art, and typically focused on

The Debate Over Organic Certification For Aquatic Animals
a) Becky Mansfield uses the debate over organic certification for aquatic animals (216) in order to
enlighten the inconsistency of the organic movement s ideas (230). The organic community creates
standards that are supported by their ideas, but when the ideas become inconsistent and
contradictory, it becomes very clear that their standards are not set up on stable grounds.
b) The article was written in 2004, two years after the first US National Organic Standards was
implemented (216). This would have given researchers and anyone involved in the agriculture
world enough time to investigate the basis for the organic movements standards, and to judge
whether or not the standards were consistent and fair.
2) Purpose of the article
Becky Mansfield is arguing that it is difficult to distinguish whether a product of agriculture can
have organic status or not. She has observed the debate over organic certification for aquatic
animals (216) from every angle, and believes that the organic movement holds contradictory
ideologies. These contradictions act as blockages for the attribution of organic status to wild fish,
because the fish do not fall in any of the categories that the organic movement considers suitable
for organic status. But as Becky expresses a dialogue between the organic movement and others
involved in all realms of agriculture, it becomes obvious that it is not a problem of the inherent
environments of the fish, but a problem of classification of the

The argument that because they serve the public interest, media should willingly accept a moral

The Media spun the Mars story big time because People were interested in it, the same way we are

Film Noir is a fairly self explanatory name. French for Dark or Black Film , this style (not genre)
of film is pretty much summed up in those two words. These films started being made in a 1940 s,
Post WWII paranoia, with the threat of nuclear missiles looming over the heads of all United States
citizens, Hollywood included. This paranoia led to disillusioned attitudes and existential feelings,
which in turn were reflected in Film Noirs through things such as characters, with the two most
prominent types being hardened male protagonists and femme fatales. Also, the Darkness of Film

Femme Fatale in Film Noir. Perhaps the biggest characteristic in Film Noir is the element that
gives it it s name: the visual style. Whether it be a detective story, a crime drama, or Sunset

distinct manner. The lighting is often single source, making heavy use of chiaroscuro, a high

visual style. The environments are often portrayed as gritty streets, wet from rain and illuminated
primarily by streetlights, or claustrophobic looking rooms with amounts of smoke that would
trigger any working smoke alarm nowadays, depending on the location, to get across a pessimistic
attitude. Sunset Boulevard, despite it s name which could be interpreted as a pretty sight, definitely
shows a darker appearance of Hollywood. When Joe first sees Norma s mansion, he notices how

2) Locking and Popping
While technically two styles, Locking and Popping often go hand in hand. Locking involves fast

6) Boogaloo
Another fluid like style, Boogaloo as taught by Hip Hop dance studios near me, involves the entire

Lyrical is a unique style of Hip Hop in that it tells a story and is danced to the words of the music
instead of the beat. It is often fluid in nature and more interpretive than other forms of Hip Hop.

Stepping is a group dance that involves using body movements to create percussive beats. This is

How To Write A Speech About Sex Trafficking
Sex Trafficking: A Forced Slave Trade
I want to talk about a girl named Danielle. She likes swimming, SpongeBob, Mexican food,
writing poetry, getting her nails painted, and Harry Potter books. Sometimes she s moody; but
mostly she is open and eager to be loved. When she smiles, huge dimples crease her chubby face

The film I chose to analyze is Silver Linings Playbook because I was interested in the story when I

characters would help each other because they had something in common. Reading the synopsis, I

The first concept is language (a system comprised of vocabulary and rules of grammar that allows

telecast of games and retransmits the telecast over the internet. The defendant captured television
broadcasts of NFL and NBA games from television stations in New York and rebroadcasted them on
the iCraveTV.com website. This conduct threatened the value of the leagues intellectual property,
specifically the telecast licenses that the league have granted distrabuters. The court held that since
Congress has elected to grant certain exclusive rights to the owner of a copyright in a protected

(Nelson) With no exact date of when Gethsemane was founded it is still going strong today in
Jerusalem. The exact location of Gethsemane can not be determined but some believe it is an
olive grove on the west slope of Mount Olive. (Gethsemane) Gethsemane is known for the place
where Jesus went to pray after the last supper and before He was betrayed. (Biblica) The story
that portrays Gethsemane being the place where Jesus prayed is in Matthew 26:36 46. In
Matthew at verse 38 it describes how Jesus felt while He was in the garden, My soul is
overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. (Biblica) The garden is mentioned twice in the
Bible by its name, the first instance was in the book of Matthew. Also the garden is mentioned in
the book of Mark chapter 14 verse 32. (Kent) The location of the garden is mentioned in other

Abstract
Resistance to change is always an obstacle for organisation when they try to implementing change.
But what is resistance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore one could argue that resistance to change is not a response or action that aims directly at
change but rather a failure of building a relationship between the management team and the team
members of the organisation. Thus it is the management team responsible as well for the arising of
resistance to change as it is an active participation of the process.
A change is the process of changing the old way or usual way of doing thing and implements a new
way or different path of doing thing and thus change could create fear of the unknown for the
participants (Mintzberg Waters, 1985)6. In order to make change happen, it is important for both
parties, the change recipient and change agent to actively seeking information, feedback, goal and
objective of change. The key word here would be Communication . By being honest to the recipient,
letting them known of the expectation from the change and the beneficial likeliness that change
would bring to personal gain and to the organisation, this would encourage the participant to adopt
change process (Kim Rousseau, 2006)7.
Is cultural difference a source of resistance to change?
Researchers have proved that there is a strong correlation between change success rate and cultural
values/ belief (Kotter, 19958; Schein, 19929). The concept of organisational change is very closely
linked with the culture context (Schein, 1992)10. Even though there is no hard evidence

to each hole and golf course is different. You never know what the condition of the golf course
will be and you don t know what the weather might be while your playing. One of the biggest
things I follow when I m playing golfis to take one shot at a time just like the saying take one day at
a time.
Imagine stepping up to the first tee of a golf course that you have never played before, you tend
to get up on the tee box looking to see where would be the best place to hit your tee shot. This
reminds me of starting freshmen year at a new school and looking around the cafeteria to see ...

As my senior year approaches just like my thoughts on the final hole I contemplated which college I
would like to attend. I wanted a college that was going to give me the best opportunities after
and during my college experience. I also knew that I needed a coach that would push me. I
wanted a coach and a golf team that would be there to help me grow and work hard to achieve
not only my personal goals but helps the team achieve theirs. On that last hole of the golf game
getting ready for your final putt of the round you take a chance and chose the line that you want
to putt your ball on. When I discovered Colorado State University and Coach Annie I felt I just
chose the right line for myself. As the final ball rolls toward the hole and coach Annie selected
me as one of her new recruits I knew not only that I had the right speed and the right line I knew
I found the right college. I continue to stare down the line and watch as my putt slowly falls in the
hole, with my hands up I knew that I picked the right line and have also made the best decision on
wanting to become a Ram for Colorado State

Theme Of Isolation In Frankenstein
The film opens on the main character Victor Van Dort, the son of recently wealthy aristocrats,
being forced to Victoria, daughter to a family of even wealthier aristocrats. (Russell) The Van
Dorts are looking to raise their status in society through the marriage to the aristocrats, and the
Everglots are hoping to further bury their secret bankruptcy and get their hands on the money
they, wrongly, assume Victor s family has. At the very beginning, Victor is shown to be a very
reserved, shy character when he is shown alone in his room drawing a butterfly while his
parents sing excitedly about the upcoming wedding. This also emphasizes the drastic differing
opinions about the wedding, and how Victor obviously dreads it. This introduces the classic
character of the old foolish woman through Victor s mother and gives the audience a silent look
into the character of Victor. He is isolated at the beginning by his own will. (Drouillard). Isolated
protagonists are used often in Gothic fiction as seen in another Victor, this one Frankenstein,
who hides himself away to focus on work. Before the wedding, it s very obvious that Victor is
nervous, and the parents are just as worried that he will not perform correctly at the ceremony. As
he rehearses in the woods, Victor manages to properly say his vows, puts the wedding ring on a
hand like branch, and everything goes smoothly. Of course, in a fantasy, nothing truly goes as
planned and the branch like hand is revealed to be a real hand.

  • 2. The Sociopath Next Door Analysis 12 Million Americans are sociopaths that means every time you find yourself in a group of 25 people you can expect there is at least one individual without a conscience. Contrary to popular belief, according to Martha Stout in her book The Sociopath Next Door, only about 20% of these people are in prison. Sociopaths are smart and the psychological game they play is not always illegal and even when it is the authorities rarely get involved and civil attorneys seem to be very reluctant. Considering the implications and the lack of new books on the subject, I originally read Dr. Stout s book in 2007 and recently revisited it on audio. Like a sequence of short stories, through actual cases from her psychotherapy practice, Martha Stout develops ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Did The Collapse Of Capitalism I agree with Karl Marx statement about capitalism. Marx felt that capitalism through industrialization had increased the productive capability or power of the world s economy far beyond what individuals had ever witnessed before. Despite this fact, Marx also felt that capitalism created two different classes of people that were competing with each other on social hierarchy. First, was the bourgeoisie who owned and controlled the means of creating a production, and they also hired wage laborers to distribute their production. Second, was the proletariat, who were mere common workers who owned nothing of a real production or any real power to hired many workers. They had the right through to sell their own labor. Capitalisms foundation is that it ensures these classes would struggle against one another. To the point where the class of workers would become massive, and oppressed each other enough that it would overthrow the bourgeoisie. Moreover, capitalism social classes would seize the means of production from bourgeoisie and end the economic system eventually. The system of socialismwould be ushered in and would gradually develop into pure communism. Capitalism in my opinion, has been the subject of criticism or backlash from many perspectives during its history. Criticisms mostly ranges from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Value of Flexible Management Introduction Prior to researching this topic, my impression of management was limited. My concept was meshed within the framework of business and economics. Therefore, my definition of this construct was in error. For rectification, and foundational reference, management is the process of directing resources towards the accomplishment of a specific goal. This definition, one that I have derived from the compilation of many, incorporates two key variables. The first operative word in this definition is resources. Resources can mean anything from money, employees, athletes, students, or just about any organized effort, group or cohort. The other functional variable in this definition is goal. The goal or aim of the organized effort can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also know as directive management, managers tell their subordinates what to do, how to do it and when to have it completed by (Coye Belohlav, 1995, p 16). They assign roles and responsibilities, set standards, and define expectations. Within this style of management communication is one way, and go from management to resources. For example, when the manager speaks the employee listens and reacts. As defined above, the purpose of management is to direct resources toward a goal. In autocratic management, the manager sets all goals with specific deadlines to track progress. The autocratic manager is the principal of the decision making process. When a problem arise the resources report to the manager and the manager evaluates the options and makes the decision as to the direction and action that should be taken (Coye Belohlav, 1995). In terms of management feedback, the autocratic style of management calls for detailed instructions of changes that need to be made to the final product. Any rewards and recognition bestowed by autocratic managers are dictated by how well people follow directions. A perfect illustration of a working application of the autocratic style of management can be seen though the management employed in United States Military. Within the military the ranking system sets a scene for the role of the manager. In accordance with a strict chain of commands, members with a higher rank ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Water Quality And Water Pollution CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background information Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009). The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health. Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollutionaffects flora and organisms ... • 9. Jane Eyre Wide Sargasso Sea Essay Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea haunts the narrative of Jane Eyre through the construction and recognition of the uncanny. Rhys incorporates the uncanny within her rewriting of Jane Eyre through the utilization of narrative devices and ambiguous representations of physical spaces. By rewriting Jane Eyre, Rhys attempts to construct a history that is not only detached from the dominant world established in Jane Eyre, but grounded within the hauntological realm of the Caribbean. The hauntological realm in which Rhys constructs, not only provides a degree of agency within a realm of uncertainty, but establishes a degree of restraint too. Megan Mericle argued that both Jane Eyre (1847) and Wide Sargasso Sea (1966) suggests the liberation of their respective female protagonist from the oppressive conventions in which they find themselves captive (Mericle 2012, 236). While BrontГ« s Jane Eyre asserts the independence of Jane Eyre to have derived through her escape from restrictive patriarchal conventions, Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea follows an alternative narrative where it is through repression that Antoinette... Many people like both of these seasons, but really these two seasons have nothing in common. Winter is the season that has more activities and can do more of the summer activities making it better. They have different clothing and different amounts of clothing, they both have animals, but this is also different in each season, they have different foods and different temperature of foods and they also have different activities that adapt to the type of weather in these seasons. • 12. Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier Essay example Cold Mountain In Charles Frazier s Cold Mountain, the theme of music is one of the novel s most powerful themes. From symbolizing character growth to the healing of physical wounds, music plays an integral part in this novel. While many critics will point out that music has little effect on the human psyche, Charles Frazier shows his belief that music does indeed have a profound effect on the human mind throughout Cold Mountain. Throughout the novel, Inman, Ada, Ruby, Stobrod, and many other characters experience music that allows them to keep faith against the odds or even heal their wounds! But Monroe preached that they were misunderstanding the song if they fooled themselves into thinking all creation would someday love them. What it really required was for them to love all creation (78). Monroe used the hymns of his church as a means to spread his ideas of how people ought to live their lives. This pattern is also apparent with Inman. When he meets Swimmer, a Native American, he learns of a chant that could kill the soul of an enemy (20). Inman cannot accept this notion because he had been taught by sermon and hymn to hold as truth that the soul of man never dies (20). Charles Frazier believed in the power of hymn to influence what people believed about spirituality and the soul. This parallels the historical usage of hymns in church during the Civil War as well as in today s church as a means to pass down culture. Hymn music also had the ability to strengthen the Church and to solidify the beliefs of the parishioners. There is a large disagreement over the influence of religious music over a person s beliefs. The evangelical song leaders believed that religious music moved people with no faith to a life dedicated to praising God, but people from outside the church described religious music as cheap and tawdry (Squire 242). According to the United Evangelical Front religious music was a way to articulate God s plan and extend the influence of religion outside of the church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most HBCU students do not enter their first day of college expecting to see a significant amount of racial diversity on campus, however, due to shifts in HBCUs, a significant amount of racial diversity is exactly what they encounter. • 18. Water s Influence on Settements in Egypt The settlement of a town had to take two main considerations into mind, the accessibility to a water source and the height it was built above the flooding of the Nile. The mud brick buildings were sensitive to water and damp conditions, so care had to be taken when considering the placement of a house, town or city. When houses did crumble or fall apart, new houses were simply built upon the ruins of the former house. This led to houses and towns being built on more elevated surfaces. These hills are called tells. The permanent structures like temples and their surrounding enclosures are now on a lower floor level this would be the original level as temples were not generally built or renewed upon each other as the houses were. This method of building one house upon the other continued until the building of the Aswan Dam in the late 1960 s, making excavations of the housing areas was virtually impossible. This has left a scarcity of data for Egyptologists to study. There are no more famous ancient sites within Egypt, or for that matter elsewhere in the world, than the Great Pyramids at Giza. The pyramids of Giza have affected some tourists in beliefs and personally/emotionally. They are, without question, the icon most associated with the Egypt. Carter, though using this fairytale as the fundamental origin of the story, evidently distances herself from a fairy tale s usual features in the tense, plot and storyline of the novel. The characters we meet throughout the story are the Count, his Countess and the girl, or as stated the Snow Child . In terms of direct description we don t obtain much on the Count though we get to know him and build our own picture of him whilst reading; an underlying cause of this could be the universal way that his masculine character is presented as; the image of a powerful husband who can bend the way things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this is that since the girl fulfilled her cause of being a sexual object, she was no longer needed alive or expected to enjoy the sexual act, thus resulting in the Count raping her corpse. The compromise that the couple has come to isn t ideal but it is beneficial for both parties. Shortly after the act of sex the girl melts away, insignificant and no longer needed by the Count as the Countess attains her fur and clothes, announcing the reestablishment of her position. This is further proven by the fact that the Count hands the Countess the rose that the girl was supposed to bring for her. Upon touching the rose, the Countess too pricks herself and drops it announcing It bites! . The rose could symbolise several elements that add to the complexity of the novel. It could be the love of the Count, which would explain how the Count could hold it and give it freely but also why the girl died when touching it; it wasn t hers to take. The final line It bites! could indicate a series of explanations; each as compatible as the previous. The Constitution is a short and concise document has been able to stand the test of time and it has remained the ultimate guide of principles for law creation and enforcement. With that being said, the words of the Constitution are unclear in many respects. Politicians have debates over the Constitutiondue to the reason that it is difficult to figure out what the Framers meant when they originally wrote the Constitution. According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the authority to decide if a law passed by Congress is Constitutional. However, the vagueness of the Constitution allows for the Supreme Court to interpret the Constitution differently since they have to figure out how to apply it to the twenty first century. The vagueness of constitution, while enabling the country to progress, has also been the source of conflict among the individuals in government office. In terms of the Supreme Court, there is a fundamental philosophical debate on how the vagueness of the constitution should be interpreted. Both sides adhere strictly to the written words of the Constitution there is no debate about that. But much of the constitutional rhetoric is open for interpretation, creating two schools of thought. Whatever the outcome at the end of the day, it is the manager who is responsible. This means that rather than forces or facts, it is people that manage; and the perception, commitment and accountability of managers are the determining factors of success of failure when it comes to management. Therefore, it can be deduced that managers act or execute plans but it is management that determines if goals are going to be achieved or not by bringing people and tasks together (Drucker, 2012). Management is what holds an institution together and makes it work (Drucker, 2012). Likewise, leadership is multi faceted and can apply to many different situations (Stanfield, 2009). E sa (2012) described leadership as getting people to perform tasks in order to achieve certain aims. Stanfield argues that leadership is largely based on experience and does not necessarily depend on the number of followers and that to be able to lead effectively; one must also be able to follow. This is supported by Adeniyi (2010) who adds that there are many forms of leadership and leaders possess different traits and temperaments. Stanfield states that factors such as moral standards and integrity play a role in effective leadership. Leaders are often said to charismatic and possessing the skill that enables them to draw others to their visions or ideas. It should also be pointed out that there is inherent limitations with pricing as areas such as the elasticity of demand (Hubbard 2012) and brand positioning (Armstrong 2012) will influence customer spending habits (Nagel 2002) and spend thresholds. She even has Madame Ratignolle feel [her] shoulder blades, to see if [her] wings were strong hoping that she too has wings to allow her to fly away from the expectations of tradition set on her (Chopin 300.) While Edna expresses that she is not thinking of any extraordinary flights, to Arobin, she does not deny her wish to fly, and escape from society (300). • 39. How To Write A Speech About Sex Trafficking Sex Trafficking: A Forced Slave Trade I want to talk about a girl named Danielle. She likes swimming, SpongeBob, Mexican food, writing poetry, getting her nails painted, and Harry Potter books. Sometimes she s moody; but mostly she is open and eager to be loved. When she smiles, huge dimples crease her chubby face and they are capable of melting hearts. She s much like any other 11 year old girl in America, except for one critical difference. Over the past year of her life, she has been trafficked up and down the East Coast by a 29 year old pimp; and sold nightly on Craigslist to adult men who ignore her dimples and baby fat and purchase her for sex. Sadly, Danielle is one of many faceless victims who are all over the world (Lloyd 1). In order to end this modern day slave trade known as sex trafficking we must educate ourselves on the topic and actively get involved in the efforts to end trafficking. Human trafficking is the forcing of people into being transported within or to another country for purposes of exploitation. Seventy Nine percent of people trafficked are used in the sex trade. I thought that this would be a simple movie where the main characters would help each other because they had something in common. Reading the synopsis, I also thought that Pat would be back together with his wife, but at the end he found another love. In the next paragraphs I will show my knowledge on what I have learned this semester. On my analysis of Silver Linings, I will give examples that has the concept of language, nonverbal communication, listening, emotions, conflict, and close relationships. The first concept is language (a system comprised of vocabulary and rules of grammar that allows us to engage in verbal communication, Ch. 4, pg 72). The whole movie it was in English, so everyone understood each other. When watching, everyone understood what each other were saying but sometimes they don t because they are using words that the other side wouldn t understand. There was this scene where Pat and Tiffany were talking about what medication they use to have during dinner. The wife and husband who invited them didn t really look at their perspective in a deeper level. People who surrounded Pat and Tiffany sometimes wouldn t acknowledge their viewpoint and this is called perspective taking (Ch. 4, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But what is resistance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore one could argue that resistance to change is not a response or action that aims directly at change but rather a failure of building a relationship between the management team and the team members of the organisation. Thus it is the management team responsible as well for the arising of resistance to change as it is an active participation of the process. A change is the process of changing the old way or usual way of doing thing and implements a new way or different path of doing thing and thus change could create fear of the unknown for the participants (Mintzberg Waters, 1985)6. In order to make change happen, it is important for both parties, the change recipient and change agent to actively seeking information, feedback, goal and objective of change. The key word here would be Communication . By being honest to the recipient, letting them known of the expectation from the change and the beneficial likeliness that change would bring to personal gain and to the organisation, this would encourage the participant to adopt change process (Kim Rousseau, 2006)7. Is cultural difference a source of resistance to change? Researchers have proved that there is a strong correlation between change success rate and cultural values/ belief (Kotter, 19958; Schein, 19929). The concept of organisational change is very closely linked with the culture context (Schein, 1992)10. Even though there is no hard evidence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Theme Of Isolation In Frankenstein The film opens on the main character Victor Van Dort, the son of recently wealthy aristocrats, being forced to Victoria, daughter to a family of even wealthier aristocrats. (Russell) The Van Dorts are looking to raise their status in society through the marriage to the aristocrats, and the Everglots are hoping to further bury their secret bankruptcy and get their hands on the money they, wrongly, assume Victor s family has. At the very beginning, Victor is shown to be a very reserved, shy character when he is shown alone in his room drawing a butterfly while his parents sing excitedly about the upcoming wedding. This also emphasizes the drastic differing opinions about the wedding, and how Victor obviously dreads it. This introduces the classic character of the old foolish woman through Victor s mother and gives the audience a silent look into the character of Victor. He is isolated at the beginning by his own will. (Drouillard). Isolated protagonists are used often in Gothic fiction as seen in another Victor, this one Frankenstein, who hides himself away to focus on work. Before the wedding, it s very obvious that Victor is nervous, and the parents are just as worried that he will not perform correctly at the ceremony. As he rehearses in the woods, Victor manages to properly say his vows, puts the wedding ring on a hand like branch, and everything goes smoothly. Of course, in a fantasy, nothing truly goes as planned and the branch like hand is revealed to be a real hand. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
