Androgynous Man
The Androgynous Man
At a point in Noel Perrin s life, he suddenly became conflicted over his masculinity. It was such a
breakthrough, that he had to analyze the whole situation. Although it took some years to finally grasp
the concept of it, Perrin is now comfortable and understands the logic behind the typical gender roles;
not from research and other people s work, but from his own experience and his own ideas. At an age
where you would generally start to develop from a boy to a man, age sixteen, Noel Perrin found
himself on a three day trip from New York to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to become an assistant
horse wrangler. On this trip with him, Perrin brought Gone with the Wind and a handful of magazines
that obtained some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mostly they re terrified of finding that there may be something wrong with them deep down, some
weakness at the heart. To avoid discovering that, they spend their lives acting out the role that the he
man naturally lives. Sad. (Perrin, Page 247 248) I completely disagree with that. Perrin makes it sound
like it s such a burden to be envious or jealous of those manly qualities. I think it s human nature to do
that and there is nothing wrong with acting out that way. No man is going to say I want to be that guy ,
instead they re saying I want to be LIKE that guy , combining the qualities you have already with the
ones that you don t have. I believe if you re not constantly searching to be better in life or have better
qualities, whether they re manlier or not, what s the point of existing in life? It s human nature to try to
be better in one way or another. For example, if there s an update for your iphone, are you not going to
take it? No, because that update is going to make it better. Same rules apply to human life.
Another issue I have with another one of Perrin s opinions is he also believes that ...they [imitators]
aren t as free as us androgynes (Perrin, Page 247). Perrin doesn t really back up his opinion here, as he
also states that his Answer is mere speculation, but not casual (Perrin, Page 247). Well, if you can t
back this up, don t state it. I m not going to sit here and tell you that Ford is better than Chevrolet and

An alternative approach of affinity chromatography with...
An alternative approach of affinity chromatography with extremely significant results is dye ligand
affinity chromatography. In this type of affinity chromatography, dyes compose the group of ligands
than are employed in the technique (Hage et al., 2012).
The initial motivation for scientists to investigate more about dye ligand affinity chromatography was
given after the interactions that took place between Blue Dextran, a Cibaron Blue and dextran
conjugate, which is used as a void marker in size exclusion chromatography, and particular kinases.
Until then, only purification of various proteins by size exclusion chromatography with Blue Dextran,
like for example, erythrocyte pyruvate kinase, phosphofructokinase, glutathione reductase, ... Show

Sulfonic acid groups are responsible for molecules in order to be soluble enough in aqueous media.
Another crucial characteristic is the negative charge of these groups at all pH values. Carboxyl, amino,
chloride, or metal complexing groups can be part of these dyes, but in most of them nitrogen both in
and outside on aromatic ring can be included (Denizli and PiÅŸkin, 2001).
The most popular dyes used for the purification of proteins are triazinyl based reactive dyes. The
synthesis procedure is mainly based on Cyanuric chloride or (1,3,5 trichloro sym triazine). In
particular, the fact that electronegative atoms are present is the reason for the three carbon atoms to be
characterized as extremely positive, and as a result they are very sensitive to nucleophilic attacks. The
attachment of chromophore molecules to this is extremely simple and so dichlorotriazinyl dyes can be
also formed (Denizli and PiÅŸkin, 2001).
A characteristic example of this category of dyes is the Procion MX series (from Imperial Chemical
Industries). These series can also react later with aniline, sulfanilates or other nucleophilic substituents
in order to produce monochlorotriazinyl dyes like for example Cibacron (from Ciba Geigy) or Procion
H (from ICI).The exact position of the sulfonate group on the aniline ring is the main characteristic
that helps scientists to distinguish the two series, as in Procion H series it

Boxes by Raymond Carver
Boxes is a short story that focuses on the limits that people are confined to either by their own doing
or by society; it is a story about physical and psychological boxes that they put their emotions and true
feeling into. The story focuses on the mother who, plagued by depression, contains her emotions and
relies on lies and manipulation to achieve her goals; her son, the narrator, who cannot bring himself to
unbox his true feelings about his mother; and Jill, whom serves as a foil to both characters by having
no walls or barriers. The narrator s mother can t handle getting close to anyone in her life, so she
counteracts this by hiding her true self in a box and moving from place to place. She battles a great
depression since she lost her only solid human relationship with the death of her husband. She doesn t
allow anyone to know about or help her with her depression. She boxes her emotions up. Boxes and
have been sitting around inside her house for months (583); the author uses this to represent the
mother s life and psychological issues; she holds all of her real thoughts and emotions inward. Rather
than dealing with the issue of her husband s death, the mother uses moving as a way to escape. She
moves to a new area in search of happiness, blaming her problems on anyone except herself. The
mother states Other women my age are happy. Why can t I be like other women? (587), this reinforces
the idea that she is searching for contentment and a way to overcome her

The Importance Of Naturalism In Eveline
Eveline is a short story in the genre of naturalism which means that it centres on life as it is and it
stresses the importance of the environment and heredity in shaping human destiny. It was written by
James Joyce in 1904 as part of a collection of portraits of people who lived in Dublin around 1900
titled Dubliners . The story features only two main settings Eveline s house and the port and lasts only
the span of one day. It was written by Joyce to show the monotonous lives of the people who lived in
Dublin at the time.
Joyce was openly critical of Irish parochialism and he wrote Eveline to prove his belief that Ireland
does not permit the development of individuality, as the character Eveline is presented by Joyce to be
the absolute epitome of Irish parochialism; rather than go after her ambition to leave Ireland for a
better life, Eveline s life is lead by her sense of duty. We see this when Eveline doubts her ambitions,
In her home any way she had shelter and food; she had those whom she had known all her life about
her, The simplistic reasoning that Joyce uses conveys the absolute autonomy of Eveline s life as her
only reasons to not chase her ambition are basic requirements for most people s lives. Eveline,
unfortunately, leads the stereotypical life for a woman in Ireland around that time as her life was ruled
by her sense of duty and the men in her life rather than by her ambitions and herself. The reason Joyce
did this was so he could share the

Rei Company Overview
Can REI Climb Higher with Networking and the Internet?
With an old fashioned sensibility and a forward looking embrace of networking and Internet
technology, Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) occupies a distinctive position in the retail market.
Selling gear and clothing for outdoor recreational activities, REI operates 82 stores throughout the
United States, as well as 2 stores on the Web and an adventure themed travel service. Together, these
entities recorded over $1 billion in sales during 2005.
The company was started in 1938 as a cooperative by mountain climbers Lloyd and Mary Anderson
and a group of associates to acquire quality climbing gear and other outdoor recreational equipment at
affordable prices. Despite the significant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After implementing the wireless system, the same work can be performed in 25 to 28 hours. Multiply
that by 82 stores and you have major cost savings.
REI is now experimenting with new ways to deliver information to the store floor. It is testing wireless
handheld devices that give employees instant access to product information on the Web, wireless cash
registers and point of sale devices to facilitate quick changes to store layouts, and live two way
videoconferencing based on IP/TV technology that would allow shoppers or sales associates at kiosks
to talk to call center agents or product specialists at REI headquarters or other stores. REI has rolled
out wireless IP telephony phones in its flagship Seattle store and it is considering using its network to
deliver on demand videos to kiosks to supplement employee training.
REI has remained determined to use its multiple channels to support each other. The company s
philosophy is that it doesn t matter which segment of the company is responsible for a sale occurring;
the sale benefits the company as a whole. Jeff Schueler, a usability consultant and founder and CEO of
Usability Sciences, views a sale as the final step in the multi step process of shopping. According to
Schueler, the vast majority of people who visit e commerce Web sites do so for purposes such as fact

The Nazi Regime Of Adolf Hitler At Auschwitz Birkenau...
1.1 million. That is the number of people exterminated by the Nazi regime of Adolph Hitler at
Auschwitz Birkenau death camp between 1940 45. (Auschwitz Birkenau museum online) The raw
number itself absolutely staggering, too large for any human being to wrap their minds around. It is a
large enough number to inspire skepticism, disbelief, and outrage. To this day, decades after the fact,
there are still those who deny that any of it ever happened because the numbers are just too big. It is
better to think of this tragedy in more personal terms: as in 1.1 million families physically ripped
apart, 1.1 million dreams snuffed out, and untold numbers of survivors left scared forever. Human
faces need to be attached to the raw numbers, or else the numbers become a point of data, something
which can be spun to serve up moral or political advantage in today s society. We must remember
what happened in Auschwitz Birkenau, and the other Nazi concentration camps. All of humanity must
remember or we are surely doomed to one day repeat this dark chapter in our history. The history of
the Jewish people is littered with tales of religious based violence, state organized pogroms, and
forced evictions. American jewish parents have taken the old rhyme: Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue
in 1492 , and added the words and the Jews were kicked out too! in order to memorialize the Jews
exile from Spain during the Catholic Church s Inquisition. Jews were accused of all manner of crimes,

Validation In The Canterbury Tales Essay
One of the main forces behind humanity s drive to be a good person is validation. Religion is a way
for people to become better and receive validation from others. In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury
Tales, Chaucer writes about a large group of people on a pilgrimage, who keep themselves occupied
by telling stories to each other. The Canterbury Tales shows how many different kinds of people find
validation through religion. The Canterbury Tales makes it seem as though the only reason people
followed religion was to receive acceptance from others through the Church because the characters do
not take religion or God seriously. Religious figures on the pilgrimage, like the Friar and the Prioress,
break their promises of chastity to God constantly, yet they continue to claim they are good figures of
the Church because people think more highly of them if they are practicing abstinence. The Prioress is
not truly faithful to God, which is seen in her brooch of shining gold; inscribed thereon/ Was, first of
all, a crowned A ,/ And under, [love conquers all], (7). The Prioress is a nun who supposedly devoted
herself to God through marriage. When a nun declares herself faithful to God, it means that she will
practice abstinence. A brooch that says love conquers all implies that the person wearing it is someone
for whom their promise to god is second to their desire for worldly love. Likewise, the Prioress also
accepts gifts from men, showing once again that she does not take

Stereotypes And Perceptions Of The Media Essay
Stereotypes in Media
Ta Kendra Elbert
Indiana University
Â¥ What is a stereotype that is used in the media? What are the consequences of those stereotypes? Use
examples to illustrate your points. Support with research.
The United States is often referred to as a melting pot ; a place where people of all races, genders, and
colors can live together and have the same opportunities. That sounds good, but it s not always how
things necessarily pan out. There are drawbacks that come from melting pots and it has to do mainly
with the way people think about others. With so many different humans living together as a people,
attitudes and views may arise that pertain to each specific group; that is the basis of a stereotype.
Diversity brings about stereotypes, which is defined as socially shared set of beliefs about traits that
are characteristic of members of a social category (Greenwald,1998, p. 11). Stereotypes are present in
everyday society and are difficult to get away from. That statement could be argued, but nearly every
human being knows of at least one stereotype about themselves or others. If they don t, it s not too
hard to find, especially with the media being one of the biggest offenders when it comes to
stereotyping.
Humans knowledge of stereotypes are facilitated by the media, as it is one of the biggest mediums that
perpetuates stereotypes. These stereotypes fall into categories of gender, race, sexual preference and
many more. Just sitting down

Absolute Dualism In The Twelfth Century
In the twelfth century the Catholic Church was challenged by the most serious and widespread
heretical movements of that time; Catharism. With a coherent body of belief and an organization
behind it, it became the symbol of a counter church . It grew slowly, but took a firm hold in Langedoc.
In the early 13th century followers of Catharism believed in a version of it known as absolute dualism.
Absolute dualism if the belief that there are two Gods without beginning and without end, one good,
the other, wholly evil. Absolute dualists believe that each God created angels, and that the good God is
almighty in the heavenly home and the evil one rules in all this worldly structure. They explain that

Catharism arrived in Southern France and Northern Italy in the eleventh century. In Languedoc,
Catharism was endorsed by local nobility and became a popular alternative to the Catholic Church. In
the coming years Louis VII of France and others used forceful intervention to try and stamp out the
New Church, and systematically eliminated any existing Cathars. By the year 1179, Catharism was
denounced. The Cathars believed in one sacrament, the Consolamentum, which is a ceremony to
remove all sin from the believer and to induct him or her into the next higher level as a Perfect. This
differed from the Roman Catholic sacrament of Penance, as the Consolamentum could be taken only
once. The Cathars refused the Catholic Sacrament of the eucharist, believing that it could not possibly
be the body of Christ. They refused to partake in the practice of Baptism by water, believing that the
water is material and corruptible and is therefore the creation of the evil power, ad cannot sanctify the
spirit. Catharism was revolutionary in their religious thinking and therefore has an extremely

1930s Financial Crisis
The world economy has faced two major financial crises in its time and their effects are still rippling
through the world economy till now. The Great Depression of 1930s had a worldwide economic crisis
effect that led to a widespread unemployment, a halt in industrial production and construction and a
decline in stock prices. The world economy barely came out of the effects of the Great Depression and
was performing fairly well when it again faced another financial crisis of the 2000s.
To classify root causes as to why financial crisis occur, one needs to go follow a systematic approach

Realism is the preeminent theory of International Relations, as it provides the best explanation for
what is going on today in the modern world in case of conflicts and political disputes. Realism can be
broken down in three elements: Survival, Statism and Self Help. Survival is fundamentally the basic
instinct of any state. Not to forget that in International Relations, states are known as Actors (O Neil,
2009). Survival mostly kicks in when a state is under anarchical rule, or simply a state with no higher
authority (Mearsheimer, 2008). Statism on the other hand concentrates on economic controls of a
highly centralized government often extending to government ownership of industries. And finally
Self Help. Self Help is basically being able and adapted to succour one s state in times of hardship and

Facing The Giant Character Essay
My favorite character from Facing the Giants is David. He enrolled in a new school, having just
moved to the town with his father. He played soccer, but since the school did not have a soccer team,
he tried out for the football team as a second string kicker. He is conscious of his small size and
football skills, and is not confident that he will even kick the ball straight. This affects him greatly
when, at the state championship, David had to kick a fifty one yard field goal in two seconds to win
the game after the main kicker is injured. The farthest he had kicked was thirty nine yard field goal,
and he argued with Coach Taylor about his idea. The coach encourages him, telling him to do his best.

the kicker position, he still didn t think he was good enough to play with the rest of the boys. He
thought that he wasn t going to make it before he even kicked the ball. When his father noticed this
behavior, he raised both of his hands up straight until David saw him. This small act of belief in David
made him do his best in football. David received a lot of support from his coaches, and especially his
dad. By the end of the movie, David scored a point for the team that made them win the state
championship against the Giants, a team that was twice their size and never lost a game. This is a great
story of personal growth and this is what made him my favorite character from the movie. What

are no exemptions. On the off chance that feedback of government or corporate action in the US, is
naturally labeled unpatriotic or un American, then the America that is being protected is strongly not a
majority rules system and subsequently not worth protecting. Furthermore, we have to see precisely
how the individuals are controlled into getting along the offering of their pioneers and the
multinationals, so glaringly against their own advantage. We have to comprehend the strategies for
control.
Media possession is vital to the control of society. Control the individuals, and you control their vote.
You either control the media by owning it or by doing favors to the individuals who own it. In the
United States, vast companies possess the media and these, thus, get favors from the Government as
impact over enactment and extraordinary tax cuts.

Drones Technology Research Paper
CURRENT DRONES TECHNOLOGY 1.) Methane is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global
warming and inherently dangerous to human health. It can also be a potent energy source and a
potential indicator of life or life like activity. NASA uses the Open Path Laser Spectrometer with the
drones to detect methane gas leaks large and small (Atherton, 2016). 2.) Electric drones are often
limited to just 20 minutes of air time before they have to land and get new batteries, or wait for the old
batteries to charge. With hydrogen fuel cells, a commercial, electric drone could spend up to two hours
hanging in the sky, be refueled almost instantly after landing, and then take another 120 minutes in the
air. This flying contraption is the result of Intelligent Energy, who attached a hydrogen fuel cell to a
DJI Matrice 100 quadcopter. The fuel cell and its fuel weigh just 3.5 pounds, which is lighter than the
battery it replaces (Atherton, 2016). 3.) The first urban delivery in the United States by a fully
autonomous drone was held in Hawthorne, Nevada. The drone was flown by drone delivery company
Flirtey, which got it s start in 2013 in Australia, delivering textbooks to universities, before it moved to

King Judalism Research Paper
The king held the highest position on the social hierarchy, as well as supplied the land to the vassals.
The king gave his land in return for services from the vassals. All of the land was originally acquired
by the king, second only to God himself (Norman 103). Himself alone could not maintain the entirety
of his land, so as a result, he divided parts of this land and gave portions away to protect it from
invaders and harm (Jovinelly 6). The kings and other lords had several responsibilities, including
advising when to go to war, supervising the peasant work, punishing minor crimes, settling disputes
and collecting taxes (Cels 18). Some other duties of the lord included protecting the vassal in the court
of law, even when it came to royal courts (Norman 103). The kings and lords also protected the serfs
and peasants from invaders in exchange for their services ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vassal received several gifts, including land, for their services. The name of this land was a fief
(Biel 9). A higher noble granted them temporary use of the land until their death, called the precarium
(Jovinelly 6). They were given a lump of earth to symbolize the fief they would soon receive from the
lord (King 28). The lord gave the vassal this land, so in exchange, he would receive their service
(King 26). The vassal also promised a lot to the lord who granted him the land. To start off, the vassal
pledged his military allegiance to the lord, promising to serve when needed (Koshal). Additionally, he
helped pay the ransom of the lord, gave lodging, and served in the court when necessary (King 28).
Everyone with an exception of the king and peasants were vassals, because everyone was given land
from a higher figure in society. Therefore, nearly everyone had to perform these tasks (Jovinelly 7).
All things considered, the vassal was an important fundamental figure who received land in the system

Barbarians at the Gate
A Book Review
Barbarians At The Gate
The Fall of RJR Nabisco
By
Bryan Burrough and John Helyar
Barbarians at the Gate has been called one of the most influential business books of all time the
definitive account of the frenzy that overtook Wall Street in October and November of 1988 from the
leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco, Inc. by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. for $24.9 billion. It was the
largest takeover in Wall Street history. It was co written by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar, both
journalists for the Wall Street Journal. They wrote a series of articles about the takeover attempt. In
1989, they obtained additional information for the book by doing over 100 interviews. They
interviewed all the major people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although his control of the leveraged buyout was quickly usurped by the investment bankers and
lawyers, he remained a central figure throughout the story.
Shearson Lehman had pressed for the implementation of the normal gun to the head strategy, offering
the board of directors a complete, fully financed bid and giving the board little alternative but to
accept it. Johnson, believing that he had the board under control, had refused and the eager Shearson
Lehman had reluctantly agreed. Largely because of the unprecedented size of the proposed leveraged
buyout, the management Shearson Lehman group grossly underestimated the potential competition
and assumed that it would be an uncontested takeover. The estimated $15.5 billion of bank financing
necessary to complete the $17.6 billion buyout would use up approximately three fourths of the bank
funds available worldwide for a single transaction (Burrough, 169).
At first, in the bidding war to buy out RJR Nabisco, Johnson appeared to hold all the cards. He
certainly believed so. He was convinced that the board would approve his offer because they needed
him. He seems to have believed they liked him, too, and were his friends. But he had made many
enemies on his climb up the corporate ladder, and several of these conspired in the end to deprive him
of the ultimate prize in management, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal earnings.
Unswayed by Johnson s veiled bribe an

I was initially attracted to this piece because of how beautiful the horses are depicted. They re shown
with such great detail, despite it being a black figure painting, and represented as these huge, majestic
beings that are being harnessed by such a small human figure. Black figure paintings were still
common during this period of Ancient Greece but the style was dying out at the hands of the more
detailed red figure painting style. This is an amphora, which was a prize given out at panathenaic

I chose this bronze sculpture because it reminded me of Aphrodite of Knidos in that in both sculptures,
Aphrodite is depicted as naked but covering her genitalia with her hand. Women are normally shown
as clothed in Ancient Greek art, but Aphrodite is the exception since she is commonly the only female

chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess and given the apple she is shown holding as a prize.
Aphrodite then gives Paris Helen in return.

Mk4 Banshee Case Study
Ominously, CMMG s Mk4 Banshee made its appearance on the national stage this past Friday the
13Th. But the only thing that could prove to be unlucky about the Missouri gunmaker s wicked new
guns are the hoops shooters will have to go through to put most in their safe.
Yup, the Banshee line is nearly top to bottom NFA regulated registration, tax, stamps, the whole nine
yards. That s the breaks (illogical as they might be) in the short barreled rifle world. The company has
taken some mercy on the hearts of those who refuse to jump when the ATF says frog, releasing
complementary AR pistols in the line s four calibers. Even so, CMMG gives ample reasons to
contemplate doing the Fed s paper dance; by all accounts, the backpack big carbines are sound as oak
joists and light as a morning breeze. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The guns are plum featherweight. The pistol caliber Banshees just trips over the 4.5 pound mark,
while the rifle caliber configurations are well within a rounding error of a flat 5 pounds. As those who
shoot magnum revolvers know, this is tantalizingly tickling handgun heft with the benefit of a stock
(or brace).
CMMG offers the Banshees in .22LR, 9mm, .45 ACP and .300 Blackout, each boasting the shortest
barrel the company bores for the caliber. In the case of pistol calibers that snaps the tape at a nimble 5
inches, while the Blackout measures out at 8 inches. In both cases, the Banshees should prove not only
portable but also as fast handling as they come particularly in a close quarters application.
The Banshees come decked out, as those familiar with CMMG would suppose. Each version of the
BANSHEE sports the company s new ambidextrous charging handle, as well as sling plate and safety
selector. They come standard with a Cerakote finish, an RML M LOK Hand Guard and a Magpul
MOE Pistol Grip. The AR Pistol versions each come with a Tailhook Mod 2

Society will judge your appearances based on the outside just because society doesn t know what is on

they affect the two different gangs. The story retains many examples on the characters looks and how
they are stereotyped just because of the way their appearances, also just by the way they decide to

Greenwood Rotary Club May 2, 2016 It s honor to be with you again. This is an exciting time for our
university and our community, and we have a lot to be thankful for. Spring commencement is coming
up in a few days, and we will be awarding around 2,600 undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our total
for the academic year will surpass 4,000 for the fifth year in a row. Providing more college educated
workers and leaders for our state is a top priority. We just produced our 18th Truman Scholar. It is the
second year in a row that one of our students has earned that high honor, recognizing the nation s top
students planning careers in public service. This spring we also had a new Goldwater Scholar, a
prestigious national honor for students in science, engineering and technology. Our baseball team is
back near the top, ranked in the top five nationally and shutting out Ole Miss in the Governor s Cup
last week. Our women s basketball team had its best season ever, reaching the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
The support of our alumni and friends is amazing. A few months ago our current Infinite Impact
capital campaign reached its $600 million goal, three years ahead of schedule. And as you may have
read or heard, last week we announced a new goal $1 billion by the end of 2018 the largest campaign

The Paleolithic Era, also known as the Old Stone Age, marked many advancements in prehistory. Us,
homo sapiens, evolved in the Paleolithic Era. During the Paleolithic Era we developed opposable
thumbs, religious beliefs, a spoken language and much more. During the Paleolithic Era the nomads
were created. Nomads were people who migrated in search of food. During the many years of the
existence of nomads they changed their lifestyle from repetition of the same activities, to many
advancements causing an easier life to live, they settled down, and more to come next. With all the
things we achieved in the Paleolithic Era it is only right to wonder what could be achieved in the

Dual Identity And Dual Identity
With the end of my first term in Cambridge approaches, I will as a future reference, leave this
(relatively) short review. If in any case when you have access to this paper, it will have precedence
over what I said or implied. The first term in Cambridge was in many ways a crossroad for me. For
the first time ever; I got to test and refine my skills in English, socialise with people from diverse
culture and background, and in a true sense be independent and manage my own life. In most ways, I
did successfully transform into the new environment which I have admired for ages. I established a
dual identity a persona that enjoys vibrant and active social life and sports. I am very certain that at
this stage, my friends over home shall have no clue how I have changed. Was this a dual identity? I
myself is confused to answer this question, but what I do know is that the potential I had, suppressed
by the abhorrent culture back home, was finally broke loose from the oppression and started to act
upon myself. Though I have somewhat expected it, I admit I failed to predict how extensive the
change will be. However what I firmly believe is that this second chance that was given to me, I will
try to utilise as best as I can. I have said a lot that I should try out and explore. Until now, it was just
words; because of my long life back at home, I didn t have the opportunity to fully explore the outside
world. Now is the time this will continue. Relations with other Koreans is

British Colonialism And The Impact Of British Imperialism...
British imperialism affected Trinidad in a negative way. When the British took over Trinidad, slavery
began. When slavery was brought to Trinidad, it caused the people of Trinidad to become depressed
along with the rest of the world. When the British decided to join the colonies Trinidad and Tobago,
Trinidad s sugar economy started to collapse. With the collapse of the economy and commodity prices
rising, workers started to riot in Trinidad. Together these made the people and the colony of Trinidad
difficult to work and live.
While researching these topics, I used history articles and nonfiction books. I used these because they
gave me the most useful information for my topics. They helped me have a better understanding of
how the British and how imperialism affected Trinidad and it s people. Having the right and the best
information will make for a better paper.
Imperialism is a type of government that seeks to increase its size, either by forcing (through war) or
influencing (through politics) other countries to submit to their rule. While researching about
imperialism, I found that many articles explained how imperialism affected this colony in a way that I
understand it.
Slavery in Trinidad is the first reason to why imperialism in Trinidad was negative. For example,
Between 1518 and 1870, the transatlantic slave trade supplied the greatest proportion of the Caribbean
population (Countrystudies.us). This explains that Trinidad s slave trade was so bad, that the
development of their colony was ten times harder. The slavery that the British began in Trinidad,
became a major cause for how bad Trinidad s development would be. Another example of how slavery
affected Trinidad, Even after the end of slavery and apprenticeship the Caribbean was not totally free.
Former enslaved people received no compensation and had limited representation in the legislature s
(Nationalarchives.gov.uk). Even though the slaves did not have to work anymore, their lives in
Trinidad still were not the best that they could have been. The slave trade was a big part of why the
people of Trinidad suffered from depression that was happening all over the world.
Depression in Trinidad was the second factor that contributed to how negative

The Last Of The Mohicans Characters Essay
The main character in The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper is Hawkeye. Hawkeye is
a american woodsman that agrees, with his indian companions to help the group get to Fort William
Henry. Cooper calls him many names including The Long Rifle, the scout, and La Longue Carabine.
Hawkeye s character changes consistently throughout the book. I am going to analyze how Hawkeye
acts at the beginning of the book, compared to the middle and the end. To start, Hawkeye acts in a
unique way at the beginning of the book. The first thing that you can see about him is that he clearly
does not trust any member of the Huron tribe. You can see this as Hawkeye is unrelenting as he claims
that the Huron that was supposed to guide the group to the fort, is instead leading Heyward and the
girls towards an ambush. He is also very proud of his abilities with the rifle. This is shown when
Heyward points out that Hawkeye missed the fleeing Huron. Hawkeye seems to get very defensive
and claims that if anyone else had pulled the trigger, they would have missed by far more than
Hawkeye did. However, he does willingly help Heyward, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hawkeye is someone that is quite two sided. He is portrayed as a individual who is a firm believer in
individuality and someone who makes decisions despite race. We can see this as he openly admits to
the fact that he does live in an indian social world despite being a white settler. He doesn t just treat
Uncas and Chingachgook like indian companions, but more as great friends and family members.
Other times he seems to be quite stiff necked in racial beliefs. He often points out that he is a white
man and not an indian and because of that he will have different skills. While he is friends with the
Mohicans, he does not seem to be afraid to point other indian tribes out as savages. Hawkeye s
character continues to go into more depth as the book goes

The poem opens with the line Hope is the thing with feather. In this line, persona associated hope and
bird and made a metaphor. Then it follows like this, That perches in the soul/ And sings the tune
without words/ And never stops at all. In these lines, persona thinks that hope is like a singing bird,
even though sometimes it doesn t speak to us, eternally it will stay permanent in us. Also by
mentioning, hope as a permanent thing in inside of us, allows us to acquire most of what life gives to
us. The second stanza creates some kind of opposition for the hope, and in this stanza persona
metaphorically describe a person, who destroys his/her hope. By saying, And sore must be the
storm/That could abash the little bird/ That kept so many warm, persona used an impressive metaphor
by associating storm with anger and negativity. The storm abash the bird (hope) and cause pain and
discomfort hurts it. In the fourth stanza, with the following line which is I ve heard it in the chilliest

Poem Analysis: I Go Back to May 1973
The poem being analyzed is entitled, I Go Back to May 1973 by Sharon Olds. In the beginning of the
poem, the image of innocence is lost but as the reader goes deeper into the heart and core of the text,
the tone rapidly spirals into violence as well as resentment. I m assuming that the author of the poem,
Sharon Olds, is the narrator of this literary text. Sharon starts by reflecting her life story. She tells the
tale of the beginning of her parent s relationship as two fresh college graduates who venture into the
world of marriage. The couple started off in an optimistic account for they were both unassumingly
innocent. Nevertheless, everything started to go downhill later in life as Sharon, ... Show more content

East of Eden
Literary Analysis of East of Eden
The Author and His/ Her Times: The author of East of Eden is John Steinbeck. Steinbeck was born in
Salinas California, one of the settings in East of Eden. His mother, a former school teacher, and helped
him build his passion for reading and the written word. He speaks of her and her family in his book.
They play a vital role in the progression of the book.
Many of Steinbeck s novels could be classified as social novels. His novels usually deal with
economic problems in rural labor. You can see this reflected in his novels as they are used to help tell
the story. In east of Eden Steinbeck uses history two tell of two families the Trask s and the Hamilton
s, which are his own family. Before Steinbeck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caleb is the most complex character. He seems to have inherited the evil tendencies of his mother at
first. He is fiercely jealous of his brother Aron. Although after his brother dies he struggles against
what he thinks is his inherited evil and wishes to follow good. He follows the way to good by listening
to the advice of Timshel.
Setting: The novel takes place between 1862 to 1918. A lot of the book takes place in Salinas
California. It then is briefly in Massachusetts and Connecticut. It gives the feeling that the nation is
still in a maturing stage. Many of the settings are used to help describe and define the characters. The
settings are used appropriately to the characters. For example the Hamilton s land is completely dry of
any water, but Samuel is one the kindest man in the county. Adam Trask s land is full of water, but
goes through a rough time and does become depressed for a time. Also for Cathy as it describes the
different places where she goes that reflect her strange and manipulative personality. All of these
settings help you see the difference between good and evil. The rooms in which certain things take
place help add to the effect for certain events.
Theme: The Major theme through the novel is Good Versus Evil. Examples to show this are Samuel
Hamilton and Cathy Ames. Sam represents good as Cathy represents evil. Steinbeck also uses the
settings to describe good and evil. He states, I remember the Gabilan Mountains to the east of the
valley

Feudalism
Explain how the system known as feudalism worked in Medieval Europe.
The bases of feudalism is best described as a social system in Europe throughout the Middle Ages
where individuals worked and battled for upper class who gave them protection and the use of the land
in return for their services (Merriam Webster). Feudalism is not a medieval term and not even a
translation of a medieval concept (Abels 2010; Brown 2010; Bouchard 1998). In our day and time
Feudalism would be difficult and baffling in several ways, but some may feel that we would benefit
from it.
During this time the social class depended on how much land you owned. Royalty in your Kings and

What was its impact on the mission of the church?
The Church was the absolute most predominant foundation in medieval life, its impact invading
practically every part of individuals lives. Its religious observances often shape to the plan; its customs

Catholic Church went from the religion of the Roman Empire to the official religion and the most

The inclusion of the church in the system became a political reality. The unsettled conditions caused
by the Viking and Magyar invasions forced church officials to enter into close relations with the only
power able to offer them protection. Bishops and abbots thus became vassals, receiving fiefs for which
they were obligated to provide the usual feudal services. The

  • 2. Androgynous Man The Androgynous Man At a point in Noel Perrin s life, he suddenly became conflicted over his masculinity. It was such a breakthrough, that he had to analyze the whole situation. Although it took some years to finally grasp the concept of it, Perrin is now comfortable and understands the logic behind the typical gender roles; not from research and other people s work, but from his own experience and his own ideas. At an age where you would generally start to develop from a boy to a man, age sixteen, Noel Perrin found himself on a three day trip from New York to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to become an assistant horse wrangler. On this trip with him, Perrin brought Gone with the Wind and a handful of magazines that obtained some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mostly they re terrified of finding that there may be something wrong with them deep down, some weakness at the heart. To avoid discovering that, they spend their lives acting out the role that the he man naturally lives. Sad. (Perrin, Page 247 248) I completely disagree with that. Perrin makes it sound like it s such a burden to be envious or jealous of those manly qualities. I think it s human nature to do that and there is nothing wrong with acting out that way. No man is going to say I want to be that guy , instead they re saying I want to be LIKE that guy , combining the qualities you have already with the ones that you don t have. I believe if you re not constantly searching to be better in life or have better qualities, whether they re manlier or not, what s the point of existing in life? It s human nature to try to be better in one way or another. For example, if there s an update for your iphone, are you not going to take it? No, because that update is going to make it better. Same rules apply to human life. Another issue I have with another one of Perrin s opinions is he also believes that ...they [imitators] aren t as free as us androgynes (Perrin, Page 247). Perrin doesn t really back up his opinion here, as he also states that his Answer is mere speculation, but not casual (Perrin, Page 247). Well, if you can t back this up, don t state it. I m not going to sit here and tell you that Ford is better than Chevrolet and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. An alternative approach of affinity chromatography with... An alternative approach of affinity chromatography with extremely significant results is dye ligand affinity chromatography. In this type of affinity chromatography, dyes compose the group of ligands than are employed in the technique (Hage et al., 2012). The initial motivation for scientists to investigate more about dye ligand affinity chromatography was given after the interactions that took place between Blue Dextran, a Cibaron Blue and dextran conjugate, which is used as a void marker in size exclusion chromatography, and particular kinases. Until then, only purification of various proteins by size exclusion chromatography with Blue Dextran, like for example, erythrocyte pyruvate kinase, phosphofructokinase, glutathione reductase, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sulfonic acid groups are responsible for molecules in order to be soluble enough in aqueous media. Another crucial characteristic is the negative charge of these groups at all pH values. Carboxyl, amino, chloride, or metal complexing groups can be part of these dyes, but in most of them nitrogen both in and outside on aromatic ring can be included (Denizli and PiÅŸkin, 2001). The most popular dyes used for the purification of proteins are triazinyl based reactive dyes. The synthesis procedure is mainly based on Cyanuric chloride or (1,3,5 trichloro sym triazine). In particular, the fact that electronegative atoms are present is the reason for the three carbon atoms to be characterized as extremely positive, and as a result they are very sensitive to nucleophilic attacks. The attachment of chromophore molecules to this is extremely simple and so dichlorotriazinyl dyes can be also formed (Denizli and PiÅŸkin, 2001). A characteristic example of this category of dyes is the Procion MX series (from Imperial Chemical Industries). These series can also react later with aniline, sulfanilates or other nucleophilic substituents in order to produce monochlorotriazinyl dyes like for example Cibacron (from Ciba Geigy) or Procion H (from ICI).The exact position of the sulfonate group on the aniline ring is the main characteristic that helps scientists to distinguish the two series, as in Procion H series it ... • 4. Boxes by Raymond Carver Boxes is a short story that focuses on the limits that people are confined to either by their own doing or by society; it is a story about physical and psychological boxes that they put their emotions and true feeling into. The story focuses on the mother who, plagued by depression, contains her emotions and relies on lies and manipulation to achieve her goals; her son, the narrator, who cannot bring himself to unbox his true feelings about his mother; and Jill, whom serves as a foil to both characters by having no walls or barriers. The narrator s mother can t handle getting close to anyone in her life, so she counteracts this by hiding her true self in a box and moving from place to place. She battles a great depression since she lost her only solid human relationship with the death of her husband. She doesn t allow anyone to know about or help her with her depression. She boxes her emotions up. Boxes and have been sitting around inside her house for months (583); the author uses this to represent the mother s life and psychological issues; she holds all of her real thoughts and emotions inward. Rather than dealing with the issue of her husband s death, the mother uses moving as a way to escape. She moves to a new area in search of happiness, blaming her problems on anyone except herself. The mother states Other women my age are happy. Why can t I be like other women? (587), this reinforces the idea that she is searching for contentment and a way to overcome her ... • 6. The Importance Of Naturalism In Eveline Eveline is a short story in the genre of naturalism which means that it centres on life as it is and it stresses the importance of the environment and heredity in shaping human destiny. It was written by James Joyce in 1904 as part of a collection of portraits of people who lived in Dublin around 1900 titled Dubliners . The story features only two main settings Eveline s house and the port and lasts only the span of one day. It was written by Joyce to show the monotonous lives of the people who lived in Dublin at the time. Joyce was openly critical of Irish parochialism and he wrote Eveline to prove his belief that Ireland does not permit the development of individuality, as the character Eveline is presented by Joyce to be the absolute epitome of Irish parochialism; rather than go after her ambition to leave Ireland for a better life, Eveline s life is lead by her sense of duty. We see this when Eveline doubts her ambitions, In her home any way she had shelter and food; she had those whom she had known all her life about her, The simplistic reasoning that Joyce uses conveys the absolute autonomy of Eveline s life as her only reasons to not chase her ambition are basic requirements for most people s lives. Eveline, unfortunately, leads the stereotypical life for a woman in Ireland around that time as her life was ruled by her sense of duty and the men in her life rather than by her ambitions and herself. The reason Joyce did this was so he could share the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Multiply that by 82 stores and you have major cost savings. REI is now experimenting with new ways to deliver information to the store floor. It is testing wireless handheld devices that give employees instant access to product information on the Web, wireless cash registers and point of sale devices to facilitate quick changes to store layouts, and live two way videoconferencing based on IP/TV technology that would allow shoppers or sales associates at kiosks to talk to call center agents or product specialists at REI headquarters or other stores. REI has rolled out wireless IP telephony phones in its flagship Seattle store and it is considering using its network to deliver on demand videos to kiosks to supplement employee training. REI has remained determined to use its multiple channels to support each other. That is the number of people exterminated by the Nazi regime of Adolph Hitler at Auschwitz Birkenau death camp between 1940 45. (Auschwitz Birkenau museum online) The raw number itself absolutely staggering, too large for any human being to wrap their minds around. It is a large enough number to inspire skepticism, disbelief, and outrage. To this day, decades after the fact, there are still those who deny that any of it ever happened because the numbers are just too big. It is better to think of this tragedy in more personal terms: as in 1.1 million families physically ripped apart, 1.1 million dreams snuffed out, and untold numbers of survivors left scared forever. Human faces need to be attached to the raw numbers, or else the numbers become a point of data, something which can be spun to serve up moral or political advantage in today s society. We must remember what happened in Auschwitz Birkenau, and the other Nazi concentration camps. All of humanity must remember or we are surely doomed to one day repeat this dark chapter in our history. The history of the Jewish people is littered with tales of religious based violence, state organized pogroms, and forced evictions. • 11. Validation In The Canterbury Tales Essay One of the main forces behind humanity s drive to be a good person is validation. Religion is a way for people to become better and receive validation from others. In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer writes about a large group of people on a pilgrimage, who keep themselves occupied by telling stories to each other. The Canterbury Tales shows how many different kinds of people find validation through religion. The Canterbury Tales makes it seem as though the only reason people followed religion was to receive acceptance from others through the Church because the characters do not take religion or God seriously. Religious figures on the pilgrimage, like the Friar and the Prioress, break their promises of chastity to God constantly, yet they continue to claim they are good figures of the Church because people think more highly of them if they are practicing abstinence. The Prioress is not truly faithful to God, which is seen in her brooch of shining gold; inscribed thereon/ Was, first of all, a crowned A ,/ And under, [love conquers all], (7). The Prioress is a nun who supposedly devoted herself to God through marriage. When a nun declares herself faithful to God, it means that she will practice abstinence. A brooch that says love conquers all implies that the person wearing it is someone for whom their promise to god is second to their desire for worldly love. Likewise, the Prioress also accepts gifts from men, showing once again that she does not take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Stereotypes And Perceptions Of The Media Essay Stereotypes in Media Ta Kendra Elbert Indiana University Â¥ What is a stereotype that is used in the media? What are the consequences of those stereotypes? Use examples to illustrate your points. Support with research. The United States is often referred to as a melting pot ; a place where people of all races, genders, and colors can live together and have the same opportunities. That sounds good, but it s not always how things necessarily pan out. There are drawbacks that come from melting pots and it has to do mainly with the way people think about others. With so many different humans living together as a people, attitudes and views may arise that pertain to each specific group; that is the basis of a stereotype. Diversity brings about stereotypes, which is defined as socially shared set of beliefs about traits that are characteristic of members of a social category (Greenwald,1998, p. 11). Stereotypes are present in everyday society and are difficult to get away from. That statement could be argued, but nearly every human being knows of at least one stereotype about themselves or others. If they don t, it s not too hard to find, especially with the media being one of the biggest offenders when it comes to stereotyping. Humans knowledge of stereotypes are facilitated by the media, as it is one of the biggest mediums that perpetuates stereotypes. The men and women had their own jobs to fulfill and they were raised to complete their daily tasks every day. The women were brought up to bake bread, milk the herd, make a clotted yoghourt, and most importantly produce men. The men go to work and bring home the food for the family. • 30. Dual Identity And Dual Identity With the end of my first term in Cambridge approaches, I will as a future reference, leave this (relatively) short review. If in any case when you have access to this paper, it will have precedence over what I said or implied. The first term in Cambridge was in many ways a crossroad for me. For the first time ever; I got to test and refine my skills in English, socialise with people from diverse culture and background, and in a true sense be independent and manage my own life. In most ways, I did successfully transform into the new environment which I have admired for ages. I established a dual identity a persona that enjoys vibrant and active social life and sports. I am very certain that at this stage, my friends over home shall have no clue how I have changed. Was this a dual identity? I myself is confused to answer this question, but what I do know is that the potential I had, suppressed by the abhorrent culture back home, was finally broke loose from the oppression and started to act upon myself. Though I have somewhat expected it, I admit I failed to predict how extensive the change will be. However what I firmly believe is that this second chance that was given to me, I will try to utilise as best as I can. I have said a lot that I should try out and explore. Until now, it was just words; because of my long life back at home, I didn t have the opportunity to fully explore the outside world. Now is the time this will continue. • 31. British Colonialism And The Impact Of British Imperialism... British imperialism affected Trinidad in a negative way. When the British took over Trinidad, slavery began. When slavery was brought to Trinidad, it caused the people of Trinidad to become depressed along with the rest of the world. When the British decided to join the colonies Trinidad and Tobago, Trinidad s sugar economy started to collapse. With the collapse of the economy and commodity prices rising, workers started to riot in Trinidad. Together these made the people and the colony of Trinidad difficult to work and live. While researching these topics, I used history articles and nonfiction books. I used these because they gave me the most useful information for my topics. They helped me have a better understanding of how the British and how imperialism affected Trinidad and it s people. Having the right and the best information will make for a better paper. Imperialism is a type of government that seeks to increase its size, either by forcing (through war) or influencing (through politics) other countries to submit to their rule. While researching about imperialism, I found that many articles explained how imperialism affected this colony in a way that I understand it. Slavery in Trinidad is the first reason to why imperialism in Trinidad was negative. For example, Between 1518 and 1870, the transatlantic slave trade supplied the greatest proportion of the Caribbean population (Countrystudies.us). This explains that Trinidad s slave trade was so bad, that the development of their colony was ten times harder. The slavery that the British began in Trinidad, became a major cause for how bad Trinidad s development would be. Another example of how slavery affected Trinidad, Even after the end of slavery and apprenticeship the Caribbean was not totally free. Former enslaved people received no compensation and had limited representation in the legislature s (Nationalarchives.gov.uk). Even though the slaves did not have to work anymore, their lives in Trinidad still were not the best that they could have been. The slave trade was a big part of why the people of Trinidad suffered from depression that was happening all over the world. Depression in Trinidad was the second factor that contributed to how negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Last Of The Mohicans Characters Essay The main character in The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper is Hawkeye. Hawkeye is a american woodsman that agrees, with his indian companions to help the group get to Fort William Henry. Cooper calls him many names including The Long Rifle, the scout, and La Longue Carabine. Hawkeye s character changes consistently throughout the book. I am going to analyze how Hawkeye acts at the beginning of the book, compared to the middle and the end. To start, Hawkeye acts in a unique way at the beginning of the book. The first thing that you can see about him is that he clearly does not trust any member of the Huron tribe. You can see this as Hawkeye is unrelenting as he claims that the Huron that was supposed to guide the group to the fort, is instead leading Heyward and the girls towards an ambush. He is also very proud of his abilities with the rifle. This is shown when Heyward points out that Hawkeye missed the fleeing Huron. Hawkeye seems to get very defensive and claims that if anyone else had pulled the trigger, they would have missed by far more than Hawkeye did. However, he does willingly help Heyward, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hawkeye is someone that is quite two sided. He is portrayed as a individual who is a firm believer in individuality and someone who makes decisions despite race. We can see this as he openly admits to the fact that he does live in an indian social world despite being a white settler. He doesn t just treat Uncas and Chingachgook like indian companions, but more as great friends and family members. Other times he seems to be quite stiff necked in racial beliefs. He often points out that he is a white man and not an indian and because of that he will have different skills. While he is friends with the Mohicans, he does not seem to be afraid to point other indian tribes out as savages. Hawkeye s character continues to go into more depth as the book goes ... The poem opens with the line Hope is the thing with feather. In this line, persona associated hope and bird and made a metaphor. Then it follows like this, That perches in the soul/ And sings the tune without words/ And never stops at all. In these lines, persona thinks that hope is like a singing bird, even though sometimes it doesn t speak to us, eternally it will stay permanent in us. Also by mentioning, hope as a permanent thing in inside of us, allows us to acquire most of what life gives to us. The second stanza creates some kind of opposition for the hope, and in this stanza persona metaphorically describe a person, who destroys his/her hope. By saying, And sore must be the storm/That could abash the little bird/ That kept so many warm, persona used an impressive metaphor by associating storm with anger and negativity. The storm abash the bird (hope) and cause pain and discomfort hurts it. In the fourth stanza, with the following line which is I ve heard it in the chilliest

Millions of people throughout the world decide to come over, get a job and make their American dream come true, but is it really the land of opportunity? America is a country that has its positive and negative sides, but the negative sides are very problematic because they do not let most people achieve their American dream. America is not a land of equal opportunity because of income inequality between the rich and the poor and a growing gap between them, because of racial inequality and the Affirmative . • 37. Poem Analysis Essay Poem Analysis: I Go Back to May 1973 The poem being analyzed is entitled, I Go Back to May 1973 by Sharon Olds. In the beginning of the poem, the image of innocence is lost but as the reader goes deeper into the heart and core of the text, the tone rapidly spirals into violence as well as resentment. I m assuming that the author of the poem, Sharon Olds, is the narrator of this literary text. Sharon starts by reflecting her life story. She tells the tale of the beginning of her parent s relationship as two fresh college graduates who venture into the world of marriage. The couple started off in an optimistic account for they were both unassumingly innocent. Nevertheless, everything started to go downhill later in life as Sharon, ... The child, Sharon, would love to have the opportunity to go back in time and just warn them of the dark future that lies ahead of them. Although after his brother dies he struggles against what he thinks is his inherited evil and wishes to follow good. He follows the way to good by listening to the advice of Timshel. Setting: The novel takes place between 1862 to 1918. A lot of the book takes place in Salinas California. It then is briefly in Massachusetts and Connecticut. It gives the feeling that the nation is still in a maturing stage. Many of the settings are used to help describe and define the characters. The settings are used appropriately to the characters. For example the Hamilton s land is completely dry of any water, but Samuel is one the kindest man in the county. Adam Trask s land is full of water, but goes through a rough time and does become depressed for a time. Also for Cathy as it describes the different places where she goes that reflect her strange and manipulative personality. All of these settings help you see the difference between good and evil. The rooms in which certain things take place help add to the effect for certain events. Theme: The Major theme through the novel is Good Versus Evil. Examples to show this are Samuel Hamilton and Cathy Ames. Sam represents good as Cathy represents evil. Steinbeck also uses the settings to describe good and evil. • 39. Feudalism Explain how the system known as feudalism worked in Medieval Europe. The bases of feudalism is best described as a social system in Europe throughout the Middle Ages where individuals worked and battled for upper class who gave them protection and the use of the land in return for their services (Merriam Webster). Feudalism is not a medieval term and not even a translation of a medieval concept (Abels 2010; Brown 2010; Bouchard 1998). In our day and time Feudalism would be difficult and baffling in several ways, but some may feel that we would benefit from it. During this time the social class depended on how much land you owned. All of Europe had been converted to Christianity by the year 1000. Although this process was peaceful at times but other times it got downright ugly. The inclusion of the church in the system became a political reality. The unsettled conditions caused by the Viking and Magyar invasions forced church officials to enter into close relations with the only power able to offer them protection.
