Charlotte Reflection
During my first semester at UNC Charlotte, I experienced various circumstances that negatively
impacted my academic progress. Prior to moving to Charlotte, I was charged with a traffic
infraction in Montgomery County. Knowing this, I decided to move to Charlotte anyways and
enroll in the spring semester of 2016. I also found a job before moving to Charlotte to help pay
off my court fees and other necessities that I required. Later in the month of January, I received
another infraction. During the month of February, I managed to pay off my court fees from my
first infraction and manage my grades fairly. Whenever I had to pay off my second infraction,
everything started to go downhill. This ticket was more expensive and the time frame was much

What Is Postnatal Yoga
It is important to exercise during pregnancy for both the mother s and baby s well being.
However, if you are not someone who would like to sweat it out with your baby bump, try your
hands at yoga. Yoga is gentle and helps to relax both the mind and body. It combines asanas
paraynam and relaxation techniques to achieve this balance.
When practised regularly, yoga helps improve your physical, mental and emotional well being. It
improves your blood circulation, muscle tone and flexilibity. And it continues to have benefits after
pregnancy too. Postnatal yoga, which can be started about six weeks after the birth, strengthens the
abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, helping you get back to your pre pregnancy shape faster

The Gilded Age And The Progressive Era
The progressive era was a period of time of widespread social activism and political reform across
the united states. It started in 1890 s and ended in the 1920 s really not that long ago. The purpose
of this to eliminate problems that were caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration, and
corruption in the government. The gilded agewas the time between the civil war and world war 1.
The population had grown in the U.S as well as the economy as that started to happen political
corruption and corporate financial. Gilded age and Progressive Eramay seem similar in some way
based off their definition but they are basically opposites. Keep on reading and you ll see how they
differ from.
Monopolies vs. breaking up monopolies
The Gilded age were more focused on monopolies and the progressive era was more into breaking
up monopolies.Monopolies are complete control over a product or a service. The Gilded age were
with the monopolies because it was beneficial to the economy. The government gained new
technologies and better transportation from monopolies. The monopolies were not beneficial to the
government because it hurt consumers because it wasn t any competition. The government then
passed a law to stop monopolies. The progressive Era was more into that because they didn t want
monopolies they were more into regulating railroads and industrial things.
Working condition vs. Workplace safety
The progressive wanted safe working conditions on the other hand the gilded age

Essay on Review of A Cinderella Story
Many traditional fairy tales have been remade into Hollywood movies. The fairy tale of Cinderella
has been produced in movies many times such as Ever After (1998) and A Cinderella Story (2004).
A Cinderella Story (2004) has an interesting storyline, cast, themes, and appeals to teenagers and
young adults.
A Cinderella Story is a modern story that it s a girl that gets in love to this popular guy. Even
though she was raised by her father, she never felt like she was missing out on anything. Her dad
owns a diner in the San Fernando Valley, which Sam loves, called Hal s Diner. All the staff was

the house and goes to live with Rhonda who is like her mother. The game is about to start and
Sam goes in the boys lockers and tells Austin, Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this

Todd McCarthy and the director Mark Rosman, the movie director found fresh faces to portray the

Hilary Erhard Duff was a Texan girl who wanted to be an actor since she was six years old. She

The Director Mark Rosman made A Cinderella Story a spontaneous movie by putting young

Outcome Practice

Andrew Blackwood
01/10/2011
Understanding and implementation of outcome based practice within my work setting.
Outcome based practice is to deliver a service which is measured by the outcomes of the support
delivered.
From the initial stages of referral it is made clear what outcomes are expected to be achieved or
worked towards. An individual s care co ordinator will draw up a pen picture representing the
individual and disclosing details of the support that they require and a summary of their character,
within this pen picture, required outcomes will be stated and it s down to us to detail how we can
meet these outcomes within our practice. A required outcomemay state:
A long term period of stability and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is of upmost importance that the systems and processes used are in favour of the promotion of
well being. Many professional parties involved in the care of an individual have many different
systems and many different processes so to avoid confusion I will focus on some applicable to our
organisation.
The initial care needs assessment has a huge impact on the individual s well being as first
contact with a service which will be playing a huge part in the delivery of your care can be quite
daunting. It is important to make the individual feel valued, empowered and in control of their
own care package. A good care needs assessment will reflect the individual s wants, dreams,
aspiration s and how they want their life to be, it will highlight their true needs as well as their
strengths.
The review process should have the same result as the above and should ensure that changes are
monitored, progress mapped and new goals and targets are set, it is imperative that the care plan
gives a true and current reflection of the individual in order for them to receive the correct support.
Lead practice that promotes individuals health and choices and control over the outcomes they want
to achieve (O3.3, O3.4, O4.4)

Essay on Attempting to Measure Welfare in the Philippines
Most of the unemployed are not poor; and most of the poor are not unemployed. If read at first this
statement may seem to be absurd but it is in fact the reality that plagues our country today. For one,
it is determined that unemployment brings upon the prevalence of poverty but how come would
the poor in the Philippines be in fact be in the midst of the employed? Emmanuel S. de Dios and
Katrina I. Dinglasan have adequately answered this baffling phenomenon with historical data and
mathematical computations thus proving that unemployment is not an effective measure of welfare,
i.e., in our country. The Philippines in its current state cannot be painted in its best picture hence it
stands on unsteady grounds both economically and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the government will perhaps stimulate capital investments (by lower interest rates, there would be
no need for low skill labor in this sector and the excess manpower derived from this movement may
be diverted in other more productive means. Thus, about the last paper assignment regarding the
three pronged approach to growth, I now question if the establishment of special labor employment
zones would make the country better off especially now that it has been proven that poverty does
not necessarily lessen with the surge of employment. Overall the rationalization that it is better for
the poor to earn something than nothing regarding the special employment zone does not bode well
for the country in terms of the welfare of its citizens, hence the government should do something
concerning this implication. Now, what could the government do given the problem at hand? I
think the government may still implement the special labor employment zones because overall it
will still increase the country s productivity but aside from that the government, I think, in the short
run could perhaps do capital investments especially in the agriculture sector, such as granting this
sector the use of modern day equipment that would increase productivity but at a lower cost. In lieu
with the years ahead the government should better concern itself in improving its human

Open Letter to Whom Ever it May Concern,
Before writing this letter I have researched the efficacy of such a medium in order to make an
impact, I am not surprised to learn that this may hinder more than help. This is not to vilify those
involved or even take sides in an issue that honestly affects currently half a million people, but in
the long run may impact millions. This is a letter to put a back story to those forgotten by the
issue at hand, the student affected by a five week strike of Ontario Colleges. I am 25 years old,

The Contemporary Pay And Benefits Environment Must Comply...
Summary: The contemporary pay and benefits environment must comply with the civil service
compensation system. Designed with the assumption that an individual job was an essential unit of
measurement and that the relationship of the one job to another, could be determined and its values
assessed apart from the job incumbent. Under such a program, we must identify the elements as
characterizing the future of compensation policy and practices. It is the utmost importance, to
distinguish between long term verse shorter term perspective, performance, compensation, and the
types of benefits within the level of retrenchment. Since the impact of such elements when dealing
with the public sector, compensation policy and practices captured with the new pay. Further, by
understanding the characteristics of new pay, the responsibility for day to day salary management
shifts. Which also puts back the traditional classification from the broadband range and vast
salaries ranges. For instance, paying the job and the person, and dealing with the emphases of
performance appraisal, the range of rates, and peers, subordinates, and clients, and their customers.
In summation, the merit pay for the individuals has replaced the team, and group incentives
replaced. We now increasingly tailored the pay plans for particular work situations. Each of these

The Outside Dynamic Environment Punctuating Public Sector...
A service is defined as an action of helping or doing work for someone . In the private sector the
action of helping or doing work for someone is on the basis of making a profit and shareholder
accountability, it is goal driven, profit motivation and reward orientated. In the public sector an
action of helping or doing work for someone is supplying a public need such as transport,
communications or health service. It is a service provided to the population with greater public
scrutiny and is not profit motivated. Public sector organisations are agents of the state to do the
states business and are not in a position to make a profit; they are mandated to provide a service
to all. Public sector services are complex by nature by that I mean that they are difficult to manage
and lead. It can be argued that there are many reasons for these complexities, notwithstanding the
influence of context i.e. the outside dynamic environment punctuating public sector organisations
globally. Some of the reasons for the complexities are beyond the organisations control e.g.
population, who you serve, labour intensive, demographics etc. it cannot choose to exclude
citizens but must treat all citizens fairly and equally. It is proposed to discuss the following
complexities for public sector managers as I see being a challenge in my organisation in more
detail 1.The effect of the political environment on public organisations. The influence of Politics is

Gross Motor Skills Research Paper
Isaac s gross motor skills were great when I first arrived at UCC. He was easily walking and
running. He would run to get the balls you threw. It was obviously easy for him to go over the
bridge outside as well as run and cut corners. He seemed developmentally ahead of his
classmates who could not do all of these things. In the classroom he demonstrated other good
gross motor skills. When we came inside, just cleaned up, or finished an art project everyone
was required to wash their hands. In front of the sink, there was a step a few inches off the
ground. It enabled to kids to reach the running water. Isaac could easily step up when it was his
turn. He would also demonstrate a combination of fine and gross motor skills when he finished
washing his hands. Isaac would hold his paper towel from drying his hands to throw away and
step down. He had indisputable control over what he was doing. His fine motor skills were
excellent as well. He played the xylophone with a stick and expertly put the stick away into a
small hole. This was something most of the other kids needed assistance with. He could hold onto

Post putting them in my hair, his small hands would then dig them out. I was impressed he

and pull on that. Spider legs would pull on my hair, but his fingers would not. As the weeks
passed by, I could tell a small difference in week one to the last one in Isaac s size. I had been
absent due to sicknesses so I missed a couple of days. This made it much easier to recognize his
growth. From one Thursday to another two weeks later, Isaac had gotten a little taller and thinned a
little. I can assume a growth spurt happened in this time because of the rapid rate at which toddlers

In many cases lawyers have said wrong meaning in the court for something that the client had
not even done, resulting in false accusation which could possibly put an innocent person away
for nothing, this is why it is essential that lawyers prepare the way that they do. As a lawyer it is
your job to prove adequate abilities towards your case and most of all your client. Seeking
justice in the conclusion should be the attorneys goal even if the client presumes to be guilty. As
a student with a passion for the study of law, I have no fear in being the first to say that justice is
something we as people need to keep fighting for. Without justice who knows how things would
be, our world would be a complete mess. Recognition of the good from the bad, as well as the

the more difficult choices as a career path. With law being so widely spread there are numerous

approach taken is not always the final result. For example, many attorneys that pursue becoming a

The Theme Of Bondage And Freedom
The Theme of Bondage and Freedom in African American Literature Shayla Carew Liberty
University Author Note: Shayla Carew, Master s of Teaching and Learning English program,
Liberty University. Contact: scarew@liberty.edu Abstract Black history is significant not only as a
part of the black community, but as a critical part of American history for all races and genders.
Because of the importance of the history of African Americans, Black History Month is celebrated
annually. During this special time of remembrance, people of different races take time to reflect on
the historical events that not only shaped the history of African Americans, but the history of
America. There are a variety of methods used in comprehending black history. Reading African
American literature allows readers to gain a higher quality understanding of the events that shaped
black history. This paper will closely examine the theme of bondage and freedom, which is a
prominent theme in African American literature that speaks volumes about black history.
Introduction Due to recent events, black history has been frequently discussed. For many African
Americans, the racial tensions being exemplified today bring back painful memories in the history
of black people. An enormous fraction of black history involves the subject of bondage and freedom
the African slaves experienced. Understanding how far the African American people have come is

Asian American Assimilation Into American Society
From Chinatown to Monterey Park, Asian Americans across the boundaries of Los Angeles are
flourishing from bustling inner cities to middle class suburbia. The suburban life style was
originally created by white Americans for white Americans however in today s suburban cities and
towns there seems to be a substantial group of Asians and Asian Americans thriving in these once
predominately white areas(Li 1993, 318). The development of Asians and Asian Americans in the
suburbs occurred through the following three ways, first is the development of Chinatown and how
it became the Mecca for immigrants and the second is Asian Americanassimilation into American
society. The last reason is the gentrification of towns such as Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. The
development of Chinatown first began with the many Chinese immigrants that appeared in the
United States. Because of the Transcontinental Railroad, many Chinese immigrants were paid
laborers working on the project and were thought of by employers as reliable laborers who would
work, without complaint, even under strenuous conditions(Norton 1924, 283 296). Chinese
immigrants came in waves because of the grand opportunity. These immigrants were paid
significantly lower wages than white workers, then blamed Chinese laborers for lashing down pay
and taking away jobs. After the railroad was completed and white laborers in other industries began
to fear for their jobs, anti Chinese attacks increased, including beatings, arson and

Best Garage Door Opener
Best Garage Door Opener How To Know You Ve Found The Best Garage Door OpenerAs with
many other gadgets we take for granted, finding the best garage door opener is probably level
with finding the perfect soap on a rope on most peoples list of priorities. When you consider the
impact they have on the safety and security of your home, however, you ll realize that it may be
prudent to give them a little more thought. Think about it that garage door is probably the largest
moving appliance in your home bar none. And a real potential hazard lies in such a device being
controlled via remotes indeed, this makes this type of garage door very prone to causing accident
and injury. No other appliance can so easily be accidentally activated as the garage door opener. It s
important to note that, following the many unfortunate incidents involving garage doors and
children, automatic garage door openers were actually reviewed and subjected to experiments by
medical and safety authorities. Their findings showed that, in the period spanning between 1974
and 1995 alone, no less than eighty five children died or suffered permanent brain trauma from
these terrible accidents.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dna Polymerase Synthesis
There has been an abundant amount of enzymes that replicate a bulk of DNA, which has been
discovered in past years. Many enzymes correlate with DNA to assist them in translating,
replicating and transcribing the enzymes in our body (Pierce, 2013). More specifically, an enzyme
that is involved in DNA replication is DNApolymerase. One of the main functions for DNA
polymerase is to allow the synthesis of damage, that the past DNA caused, which blocks replication
fork progression. DNA polymerase can cause a complication and/or mistake, which is caused by a
genetic mutation that occurs before the transcription and replication process of the DNA. One of

What Is Miss Brill Reality
Illusion versus Reality in Miss Brill
Is it really okay to talk to yourself as long as you don t talk back? Well, what if your fur piece talks
back? In Katherine Mansfield s short story, Miss Brill, it is a quickly established fact that Miss
Brill has an odd relationship with her fur necklet (440). But it is the author s descriptive use of
symbolism that provides a deeper understanding of Miss Brill s personality. Katherine Mansfield
creates the woman in the ermine toque (441) in similarity to Miss Brill to reveal Miss Brill s
identity in connection with her own fur piece and invite comparison, which further illustrates Miss
Brill s perception of reality.
Introduced in the story as simply an ermine toque ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So when the sad little eyes ask, What has been happening to me? (440), it is equivalent to a sad
eyed Miss Brill asking herself that same question. Mansfield stresses the importance of evaluating
the ermine toque (441) as a symbol by making her the only other character besides Miss Brill who
is wearing a fur. However, this is not the only character fact the two women share.
Intending to further define Miss Brill s bizarre personality and perception of life, Katherine
Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque in similarity to Miss Brill. Miss Brill s
description of this woman demonstrates that the two women share several character facts. Not
only are both women wearing furs, but both women have possessed the furs for some time. Miss
Brill refers to the ermine, an originally white fur, as being shabby and having turned yellowish
(441), a color such a fur would turn with age. Miss Brill s own fur is old enough to require a dab
of black sealing wax on the nose to revive its look from time to time (440). By saying that the
woman wearing the ermine hat has taken on the same color of the fur (441), Miss Brill suggests
that the woman herself has moved on in years. Miss Brill s own age, which is implied throughout
the text, is distastefully proclaimed by the boy in the park, who refers to Miss Brill as that stupid
old thing (443). Most importantly,

Roman Aqueducts Essay
Ancient Roman aqueducts are some of the most impressive architectural remnants of the once
dominant Roman Empire. The technological advances that were made around the first century AD
by both the Greeks and Romans in the areas of architecture, construction, and design, were cutting
edge to say the very least. There were also quite clearly abundant practical applications for the
Roman aqueducts in Rome, Italy. Even as Rome s population exceeded 1 million people around the
year 120 AD, the aqueducts capably and efficiently supplied clean and potable drinking water not

Healthcare Systems And The United Kingdom
Undoubtedly, healthcare services can maintain or improve both physical and mental health of
individuals and it is crucial for all the citizens. Therefore, a majority want to receive free and
approachable healthcare service irrespective of their social background, age or health status by the
government. However, a well organized and effective free healthcare system is complicated to
provide to the public and the government will face enormous challenges and dilemmas when they
authorize the citizens to access essential healthcare without any charge. This essay discusses two
different healthcare systems in the United Kingdom and the United States and analyses the
effectiveness and efficiency of both free public and private healthcare. It will be argued that the
healthcare system will be more effective if the health care is partially provided by the government
free of charge and partly provided by the private companies.
Firstly, the funding of universal healthcare predominantly comes from the taxation, therefore, it will
burden the taxpayers with heavy taxes; while a small proportion of individual cannot afford the
private health insurance in the private market, thus, two healthcare systems should implement
together. In the United Kingdom, National Health Service (NHS) provides a comprehensive range

differently. How we as individuals do these things, are greatly influenced by the people around us,
as our differences makes us judge others. In creating our own identity, our reliance on others is
consequently grand, which can be either a fine or a dreadful matter. For some, the prejudice in the
perceptions of others can cause the truth to be exceedingly twisted. It can be disturbed to such a
degree, that the image of others is completely opposite of how it is in reality. This is what each
character in Higson s short story The Red Line experiences. Higson questions and plays with the

He had hoped that the man would have helped him find his way around London, and in a way he
does, since Berto s blood trail reminds him that he needed to take the red line It was not the
preferable outcome Berto could have hoped for though, of course, as he dies. The nameless man
deems very negative of the two, mostly Berto that is so contrary himself, both in appearance and
personality. The nameless man considers Berto to be iniquitous, while we as readers know the
opposite is true. He also supposes that Berto and Denise are eyeing each other up across the aisle
[2], but none of the two has romantic interest in each other, and Denise even ends up running from
the former. The reader must question each character, based on their view on the others and how
this changes their persona, and how each one of them is considered by our selves.
The point of view shifts in a way that it both creates suspense, and plays with our impression of
personality. With each chapter, titled by a train station name, we follow a different character s day.
In Goodge Street, a chapter towards the end, the characters stories intertwine, but the shifting
continues. The composition is therefore not linear, which is typical of postmodern literature, as it
creates suspense. There is dynamic and a sense of reflection in the story, which are also postmodern
traits. Differing at all times, the point of view creates a sense that nothing is settled,

Capitalism In Dubai Essay
Capitalism the new economic system which are cities moving to. Is it safe? Do the governments
know the disadvantages of the capitalism? Does the capitalism improve the city on the long term
or it is just a short term of illusionist growth? The capitalism has made huge noises that it is a good
role to follow especially with what Dubaihad achieved in short time but, how about Dubai real
heritage. Dubai capitalism model is a huge mistake because it leads to inequality, support
destroying the legacy and cause unstable Economy. First of all, the biggest issue of the capitalism
is the inequality and that is why other cities should never copy Dubai. According to
Roche,C.(2015), capitalism main idea is monopolization because it is depends on maximizing...

Nowadays, when anyone visits Dubai it is like visiting an international country with many
nationalities but without natives. Because Dubai where built by others which have been taking all
over the country now. Indeed, the percentage of natives in Dubai now is less than one percent
which is horribly so bad. Although, the late moving of the government to restore the heritage of
Dubai the culture and traditions of Dubai has been vanished already and reached Point of no return.
And this has too many negative things on the next generation. Also regarding the disappearing of
the traditions and the original culture Dubai heritage has been abandoned and natives now are
forced to adapt with the residents culture because the residents are the majority now. Also, all the
natives are moving out from their own town because Dubai has become a center for prostitution
even though, the prostitution are against the low in Dubai but, the whole government have to
subject to the current situation because Dubai now is no longer owned by United Arab of

the governments and that because the Arabs start awake and see that the capitalism is affecting
them negatively. Well, that leads to couple questions how long Dubai

Disaster Preparedness
Disaster Preparedness Plan
A disaster is generally defined as an event in which illness or injuries surpass resource capabilities
of a community or medical facility (Ignatavicius Workman, 2010). Disaster preparedness is a
process of ensuring that an organization has complied with the preventive measures and is in a
state of readiness to contain the effects of a predicted disastrous event to minimize loss of life,
injury, and damage to property. Disaster preparedness can also provide rescue, relief, rehabilitation,
and other services in the aftermath of the disaster, as well as have the capability and resources to
continue to sustain its essential functions without being overwhelmed by the demand placed on

Feminist Theory Applied to Hamlet
Representing Ophelia: Women, Madness, and the Responsibilities of Feminist Criticism Elaine
Showalter Though she is neglected in criticism, Ophelia is probably the most frequently
illustrated and cited of Shakespeare s heroines. Her visibility as a subject in literature, popular
culture, and painting, from Redon who paints her drowning, to Bob Dylan, who places her on
Desolation Row, to Cannon Mills, which has named a flowery sheet pattern after her, is in inverse
relation to her invisibility in Shakespearean critical texts. Why has she been such a potent and
obsessive figure in our cultural mythology? Insofar as Hamlet names Ophelia as womanand frailty,
substituting an ideological view of femininity for a personal one, is she indeed... Show more content

According to David Leverenz, in an important essay called The Woman in Hamlet. Hamlet s
disgust at the feminine passivity in himself is translated into violent revulsion against women,
and into his brutal behaviour towards Ophelia. Ophelia s suicide, Leverenz argues, then
becomes a microcosm of the male world s banishment of the female, because woman represents
everything denied by reasonable men. To liberate Ophelia from the text, or to make her its
tragic center, is to re appropriate her for our own ends; to dissolve her into a female symbolism
of absence is to endorse our own marginality; to make her Hamlet s anima is to reduce her to a
metaphor of male experience. I would like to propose instead that Ophelia does have a story of her
own that feminist criticism can tell; it is neither her life story, nor her love story, nor Lacan s story,
but rather the history of her representation. This essay tries to bring together some of the categories
of French feminist thought about the feminine with the empirical energies of American historical
and critical research; to yoke French theory and Yankee knowhow. Tracing the iconography of
Ophelia in English and French painting, photography, psychiatry, and literature, as well as in
theatrical production, I will be showing first of all the representational bonds between female
insanity and female sexuality. Secondly, I

Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive Development
Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development Piaget s theory of cognitive development consists of
four stages, these stages include the sensorimotor stage, the preoperational stage, the concrete
operational stage, and the formal operational stage. When a person transitions from stage to stage
they go through assimilation, accommodation, and equilibrium. The first stage, the sensorimotor
stage, takes place from birth to two years. Piaget divided this stage into six substages. As an
infant, I was always hungry. I was bottle fed, so I had to develop a simple reflexive behavior,
such as sucking the nipple of the bottle. Simple reflexes refer to the first month after a child is
born. At around two or three months old I experienced a primary... Show more content on

The first substage occurs between the ages of two to four. As a child, I often played with tea sets
and my friends and I would have little tea parties. When the glasses of the tea sets would touch
and make a sound, we would say the glasses were hitting each other. This represents animism,
because glasses are inanimate objects that cannot actually hit each other. The second substage
begins at the age of four and ends at the age of seven. When I was this age, my favorite word was
why, I would always ask questions. I had to know why things happened when they did. For
example, when I first saw an ambulance drive by, I asked why there were sirens going off on the
car. Our car obviously didn t have sirens when we drove, so I wanted to know why that
ambulance made noise. This represented intuitive thought, because I showed interest in
reasoning in why the ambulance was different from our car. The third stage is the concrete
operational stage, which lasts from seven to eleven years of age. In this stage, children begin to
reason when the logical reasoning can be applied to concrete examples. An example of this for
me was when I would eat candy with my friends, we all wanted the same amount so everything
would be fair. According to Piaget, if we could decipher the amounts correctly even if the candy
pieces were different shaped, we would be successful at completing concrete

Analysis Of The Film The Prince Of Egypt
The Film, The Prince of Egypt is a not a very accurate copy when compared to the story of
exodus from the Bible. The 1998 Dreamworks production The Prince of Egypt was created to
follow the remarkable story of Moses, Leading his people from slavery but was changed by the
directors to give it some originality. The setting, the characters and the storylines are some of the
things that have been changed in the animated story. Therefore the Dreamworks Pictures film is
inaccurate and does not flow along the same page as the Biblical story of Exodus.
Firstly, when compared, The settings In the Dreamworks production differ from the ones in the
Biblical account. The directors have made this change to add some excitement to some of the
settings. The way how the Nile has been portrayed in the movie, Vary from the Bible because the
Bible tells us that Moses had been placed in a basket among some reeds, But in the movie, Moses
gets placed in the basket and the Nile takes him away. He just misses all kinds of dangers, From
hippos and crocodiles to the Egyptian fishing nets. The reason the director did this massive
change was to make the scene more exciting and to capture the audience. The Burning bush s
description is different in the Bible than how it is portrayed in the movie. In the Bible, the
burning bush is on top of a mountain called Horeb but In the movie it is in a cave where God
calls to him. The director did this because he wanted to make the scene more scary and

When a woman gets pregnant, she and her partner make a serious decision whether they should
give birth to the unborn child or abort it. However, sometimes every couple can have a different
outlook about giving birth or aborting because every male and female has his or her ways of
thinking. In Hills Like White Elephants, the author, Ernest Hemingwaytells a story of an American
man and his girlfriend, Jig, who have a disagreement in the train station on the subject of whether to
keep the unborn child or to abort. However, the author uses binary oppositionof life and death to

For example, Jig says, Then what will we do afterward (401)? Literally, this statement shows Jig s
concerns about what will happen after the operation, like the emotions she will feel, because
abortion is something that can leave emotional damage on her after the operation. However,
symbolically, Jigs concerned feelings suggest that Jig is not quite sure about abortion. Therefore,
Jig s feelings can be a representation of life because if a woman is sure about abortion, she will do
the operation. As a result, one can conclude that Jig is just wasting time with her unsure feelings to
postpone the abortion.
However, The American s feeling suggests to the readers his agreement on abortion, which
symbolizes death. As the American states to Jig, I know we will. You don t have to be afraid. I

And you think then we ll be all right and be happy (402). Literally, the American wants Jig to

was still reeling from a summer of severe market volatility. Much of the market s instability could
be traced to bearish worries over a deepening and continuing economic crisis in Asia and other
developing markets. Many investors feared that the U.S. economy would be unable to resist what

Omidyar added several clever ideas to eBay s web service to stimulate interest. First, he adopted
an auction like trading format to not only create a sense of urgency, but also allow buyers to
follow the bidding status for each item. Secondly, he provided sellers with opportunities to spice
up their auction pages. Sellers were encouraged to upload pictures of their items or add music.
Thirdly, Omidyar created the eBay Community, composed of registered traders sharing in
common interests and passions for collectible and tradable goods. eBay listed all participants
email addresses and provided chat rooms, such as the eBay cafe, where eBay community
members could talk about sale items, hobbies, or other non trading related topics. Finally, eBay
allowed users to discuss the relative quality of items, sellers, and buyers in the eBay community
by providing a Feedback Forum for community members to interact. eBay s first auction occurred
on Labor Day 1995. Three years later, with over one thousand categories listed and 70,000 new
sale items added daily, eBay had become the largest and most popular person to person trading
community on the Internet. The goods traded on eBay s web site included: antiques, sports
memorabilia, books, toys, cars, computers, dolls, coins, jewelry, electronics, photography, and

These three things are familiar concepts to the modern American society, but just decades ago,
these basic human rights were still foreign concepts that remained implied in the American

He was a committed civil libertarian who believed that the constitution guarantees freedom and
equality of rights and opportunities...to all people of this nation , One approach that Brennan
made with his ideal was in voting rights, such as his opinion in Baker v. Carr in 1962. The result
was the elimination or redrawing of voting districts that did not represent various voting classes
and Reynolds v. Sims, in 1964, which further enforced the constitutional principle of one person
one vote. Another concretion of Brennan s ideals was in the area of freedom of speech. His
opinion in New York Times Co. v. Sullivan greatly expanded freedom of press by prohibiting
officials from recovering damages of published false statements, or libel, unless they prove that the
statement was made with knowledge that it was false. This gave way to a more open political
discussion in the media like the one that America currently owns. Desegregation and sex
discrimination were, too, within Brennnan s sphere of influence. In the case of Green v. County
School Board of New Kent, Brennan s opinion dismantled the last barriers to desegregation. In the
Case of Shapiro v. Thompson in 1969, he calcify the implied fundamental rights doctrine that
invalidated classifications that equally affected voting rights, the right to be listed on the ballot,

Beyond Happiness And Unhappiness Summary
In Steven Donoso s essay Beyond Happiness and Unhappiness, Ekhart Tolle makes his views
concerning how individuals attempt to establish and define their personality clear. He
constantly emphasizes the points that life and Now are one (6) and that we live in a world of
mental abstraction, conceptualization, and image making a world of thought (6). Essentially,
what Tolle states is that one usually do not have much say in who they are or who they are
becoming, people are merely conditioned by external forces such as family and the past, society,
technology, and religion to think the way they do and unless they can see the conditioning in
themselves they will be unable to get free of it. According to Tolle, one of the biggest influences
that help to define who we are is our family. He states that from the moment a parent tells their
child their name people s sense of identity... gets bound up with their mental concepts and mental
images of I and me (6). In saying this, he is basically saying that we are conditioned as soon as
we can identify ourselves with our name because at this point, we have already begun to label
ourselves. Along with this, Tolle also explains that as humans we tend to live in the past and in the...

may seem to be a positive thing, however, as Tolle says, we eventually see how destructive new
inventions can become. His example of this is World War 1, he says that technology and science
multiplied the effects of human madness a thousand times (7) he then goes to say that we had to
turn our faces away (7). By saying this, Tolle reinforces the idea that we can destroy the planet
without realizing what we re doing. The First World War was approached through the
conceptualizing mind (7) thus it was reduced and because of this we were able to cause so much

Audience Analysis Assignment
The assignment I chose to revise, is our first assignment of the semester. The audience analysis
assignment. I chose this one because I had the hardest time with it. It also had the most
grammatical and technical errors so I decided to go back and revise so I can get a better
understanding of what I did wrong and how to fix it for the next time.
Organization
The essay was a little unorganized and jumped around a lot, so after properly reviewing it I
realized that the essay needed to flow a little more so that the audience could get a simpler and
clearer understanding of the essay. Because, I did not use heading I need to be to appropriately
use the sections so that each one stood on its own and had a clear and precise subject on its own.
So, I went through and reread each section and ended up changing them around so that it flowed
smoother and had completed thoughts.
Completeness
Overall, the analysis was complete. It had a complete thought and theme that flowed throughout
the essay. However, because of the organization of the essay, it was somewhat lost in the jumble
of it all. I also noticed that in my subject choice, I failed to able to expand on the two websites

How Does Michelle Obama Use Ethos In Equal Rights For Women

audience by the choice of words they use and the way they word their sentences. Michelle Obamas

The first example of why I believe this is because she uses powerful statements such as We know
that our words and actions matter not just to our girls, but to children across this country kids
who tell us, I saw you on TV, I wrote a report on you for school. Kids like the little black boy who
looked up at my husband, his eyes wide with hope, and he wondered, Is my hair like yours.? By
saying that people s actions matter to children she s capable of making the audience feel
compassionate, she also shows that she doesn t care about herself that much, she keeps putting
children and everyone else in the country before herself. When she says The little black boy who
looked up at my husband, his eyes wide with hope she helps the audience see how children hope
to be like certain adults when they grow up because children tend to want to grow up and be like
their role models. Another great example to why I believe her speech was better at persuading
her target is when she states Police officers and protesters in Dallas who all desperately want to
keep our children safe. People who lined up in Orlando to donate blood because it could have been
their son, their daughter in that club. Leaders like Tim Kaine who show our kids what decency and

Causes And Disadvantages Of Smartphone Addiction
INTRODUCTION Smartphones addiction is when you use a smartphone even when you know
that you should not use it or when you make excuses for it usefulness. In early times, people
made and received phone calls using cellular phones. However, nowadays, cellular phones are
often small computers (i.e., smartphones ) as new technology has evolved. For example, people
can watch movies and listen to music on one of these devices. Therefore, the global smartphone
market grew rapidly in 2010 compared with the previous years. With every passing day,
technology is overtaking our daily lives. In fact, 56 percent of all Americans own one. The phone,
computer, tablet and other high tech devices have become not just an object, but for many a best
friend. Malay Mail s recent social experiment shows that many, from teenagers to adults, are not
able to switch off their smartphones. We put both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when we succumb to smartphone addiction, we become slaves to our phone. This affects our
relationships, work, and life. In addition, we ll have more time and energy to build meaningful
relationships, serve others, and make a contribution to our community. All because our eyes aren t
continually glued to a small, glowing LCD screen. Things that you can do to prevent smartphone
addiction is to lock your phone with an annoyingly long password. Most people set a short
password so they can unlock their phone quickly. But to prevent the addiction, set a long
password instead. Make it at least 15 characters long, and include symbols and uppercase letters.
The inconvenience of unlocking your phone means that you won t use your phone mindlessly.
Other than that is you can turn off your phone before going to bed and leave it to charge outside
your bedroom. It can be tempting to use your phone in the middle of the night, but you won t if it
takes too much effort to even get to your

Michael Moore Capitalism Synopsis
Michael Moore is the writer and director of the highly relevant documentary film, Capitalism: A
Love Story. To me, the most interesting chapter of the film is Dead Peasants. Moore talked
about capitalism is a system of giving and taking, mostly taking . In my opinion, it sounds true
for me. Moore illustrated Irma Johnson s husband Dan ironic case. Who recently died of cancer,
leaving behind Irma and their two sons. They filmed the woman cried and sadly talked about
her husband. Her husband worked in middle management at Amegy Bank in Houston, Texas.
Amegy had taken out a secret life insurance policy on Dan s life. The bank generously named
itself as the beneficiary in the event of Dan s death. Dan s death made them $1.5 million richer
by the insurance company accidentally informed Irma that Amegy Bank had received a check for
$1.5 million just weeks after Dan died. Irma Johnson cried in pain that she didn t know anything
and they never told her. Why the company try to profit from employee s death?. How are these
companies able to get away with this?. Moore might be answer those kinds of question in sarcastic
way : I guess that s the point of capitalism. It allows you to get away with anything, like making a
profit off the death of an employee.
These kind of corporate insurance policies on employees, with the normal use of life insurance, ...

America is not great like everyone thinks, not all thing is perfect, I guess. In the film, the best
well known case is Walmart, Moore mentioned about Walmart took out over 350,000 life

richest corporations in the world an extra $81,000 and Walmart didn t offer a penny to help to
cover her medical bills and funeral which over $100,000. We call that case as Dead Peasant

The Lucifer Effect Zimbardo
Lucifer Effect
The Lucifer effect describes the point in time when an ordinary, normal person first crosses the
boundary between good and evil to engage in an evil action and it explains how the good people
do bad or evil thing. Philip Zimbardo used dis positional , situational and systemic to answer the
question How do psychologists understand such transformations of Human Characteristic? (Philip
G. Zimbardo, 2007)
Dis positional is something inside of the individuals. (Philip G. Zimbardo, 2007) In the movie,
after they posted the advertisement on the newspaper, they asked all the volunteers to take a
personality tests and do a interview for each of them. All they did is in order to pick the most
normal and the most healthy volunteers. Participants were randomly designated to either the role
of prisoner or guard. So we all know that whatever guards or prisoners, they are all good people at
the begin of the experiment.

The system creates the situation that corrupts the individuals, and the system is the legal, political,
economic, cultural background. (Zimbardo, 2008)The situation could influence people s behavior,
but the root of its power is from the system. In the movie, guards were asked to maintain law and
order in the prison and to command the respect of the prisoners. But at the same time the physical
violence was forbade. But actually when the violence happened, the Doctor Z and his teammates
didn t do anything to stop it or try to avoid it for next time. And after that the guards started to
become more aggressive and assertive. They demanded ever greater obedience from the prisoners.
The system gave the power to guard but didn t oversight it or didn t monitor them well in the
movie. It caused the guards could do whatever they want and gave the guards permission to do those

Examples Of Bitterness In The Crucible
Bitterness is a feeling of anger, hurt, or resentment toward a bad experience or a sense of unjust
treatment. This emotion is human nature since humans were primitive because it made humans
remember events that negatively affected them, causing feelings such as anger, hate, and hostility
toward what caused the problem. In the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller, many circumstances
came up that caused strong feelings of pain, irritation, and furry. Bitterness is used to demonstrate a
factor of human nature throughout the play by illustrating the experiences of resentment caused by
conflicts. A part of human nature is feeling bitter, and that concept is shown through different
situations during the play. Mrs. Putnam in The Crucible was trying... Show more content on

Proctor said this because he was angry and resentful to the judge. The judge had very little
reason to accuse his wife. This causes Proctor to become bitter. Human nature teachers this
because humans strive for the truth. Whenever the truth is twisted humans become bitter and
spiteful. An instance occurred when Elizabeth went against what Proctor told her to do.
PROCTOR: How do you go to Salem when I forbid it? Do you mock me? Shaking her. I ll whip
you if you dare leave this house again! (Miller 55). Proctor gets very furious and threatens to
whip her. When a person sets a rule and another person breaks that rule it causes frustration and
results in bitterness. Anger completely overtook Marry Warren during Abigail s trial because
Abigail lied about how Elizabeth was using witchcraft. Mary Warren, on her feet with a spring,
and horrified, pleading: Abby! (Miller 115). The reason Mary Warren got so uncontrollably mad
was due to human nature. Abigail made up that was a yellow bird and was out to get her. It is
human nature to seek the truth and Abigail lying caused Mary Warren to become that way. During
this experience Hale is questioning Elizabeth about

Summary Of Flesh And Blood So Cheap
Both fire extinguishers and smoke detectors were invented in the early 1900s, yet 146 lives
were taken in the Triangle Fire. Could you imagine the lack of safety standards during this time
period? The non fictional story, Flesh and Blood So Cheap, by Albert Marrin, uses explicit and
implicit evidence throughout the text to convey his theme about the unsafe conditions that
resulted into the tragedy of the Triangle Fire. First of all, Marrin uses explicit ideas to inform
readers about some of the events in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. For example, he states in the
text that a worker in the building had probably thrown away a cigar in the trash, which started the
fire. In the first paragraph, the text states, Most likely, a cutter flicked a hot ash or tossed a live
cigarette butt into the scrap bin. From this phrase, readers can obviously tell that if the cutter had
not used the cigarette in the first place, the fire might have never occurred. When people from the
ninth floor prepared to jump to their deaths, the firefighters came to rescue them, but failed to save
anyone. In paragraph twelve, it states, The men s hands were bleeding, the nets were torn and some
caught fire from burning clothing. The same paragraph also states,... Show more content on

According to paragraph two, it states, A foreman ran for the hose on the stairway wall. Nothing!
No water came. This quote shows that it was the building was not safe because the hose was not
connected to the water. Another implicit quote is stated in paragraph seven, where it states, Those
who reached the ninth floor stairway door found it locked. This was not unusual, as employers
often locked doors to discourage latecomers... This quote supports the fact that readers can infer
that the owner did not care for the workers because they locked doors in the building, which is also
another unsafe condition in the

Shaping Identity Using Social Structure
INTRODUCTION Social structure and social interaction are integral in evaluating a person s
identity. Identities are the sets of meanings people hold for themselves that define what it means to
be who they are as persons, as role occupants and as group members (PJB article) People are
generally influenced by the norms and beliefs of society. A person s identity is formed through a
combination of factors derived from social structure (macrosociology) and social interaction
(microsociology). The self influences society through the actions of individuals thereby creating
groups, organizations, networks, and institutions (PJB a soiciological approach to self and identity).
Reciprocally, society influences the self through its shared language... Show more content on

In addition, individuals can also reinforce their identity by using status symbols in as part of
their appearance. This can be in the form of a work uniform to signify an occupation, or in a
fashion sense, the type of clothing worn is a silent statement of what sets you apart from others.
PARAGRAPH 3 As Linton states, a person holds a status, and performs a role . Simply put, a
status is a position and a role is a set of behaviours. With each status, follows a certain role for us
to take part in. People tend to adapt to roles, moving through different roles in fluency as student,
son, friend.Because people tend to have many different statuses and therefore, many different
roles, conflict occasionally occurs among the various roles. The concept of role conflict is
conflict among the roles connected to two or more statuses (ref). A good example of role conflict
lies in the working mother; she must take on the responsibilities of mothering the children at home
while taking on the responsibilities of working outside the home, away from the children, in order
to earn an income (RR). This kind of conflict involves roles which arise from separate statuses, but
the same sort of conflict can occur from the roles of a single status. Role strain, then, is tension
among the roles connected to a single status . A teacher, for example, can be friendly with his or her
students, but must remain objective in grading them.

Ancient Greek Influence On Ancient Rome
There are many Greek myths that were altered or redirected to serve the state of Rome. For
instance, Roman culture borrowed elements of government, religion, and lifestyle. Etruscans were
also an important conduit of Greek influence on Early Rome. In addition, Roman myth is heavily
patriarchal, befitting a society where the male head of the household had the power of life and
death over everyone. The Romans also, culturally inferior to the Greeksadopted Greek literature and
mythology by just changing names and adapting the concepts to fit their ideas and values. In
addition, many gods are believed to have taken part in the founding of Rome. All of the gods were

Throughout the chapter, Bourdain mentions listening to songs such as House of the Rising Sun
, Whiter Shade of Pale , and These Boots Were Made for Walking and watching films such as
Boeing Boeing (393, 397). He mentions these songs in order to set the time period in the 60s for
the audience and connect them to the experience. He then tells the story of eating his first
oyster, calling it the proudest moment of my young life, he claims (398). He discusses how his
family seemed disgusted by the oyster, but he enjoyed it. Bourdain allows the reader to see this
moment in his life in order to show the exact time that he truly realized that food had power
(399). Bourdain s use of his childhood memories connects the reader to the reason why and how
he came to love food. Bourdain uses descriptive language to describe his experiences with food
in order to give the audience a sensation of what he experienced. Later on he appeals to the
audience emotionally by comparing the experience of his first oyster like losing his virginity
(396). He later describes the same event as, that unforgettably sweet moment in my personal

My Consequences Of Crafting
My attention on crafting was it was, though, I almost failed to notice the trio of seven foot tall
dinosaurs skulking through the bush on the right side of the road... Almost. One was closing in
from in front and to the right, behind to the right, and the last almost directly to the right A
pincer with the one in the center to finish me off. Definitely not something a friendly lumbering
herbivore would do. No siree. I glanced left and right, eyeing the six foot fencing on either side
with slack, rusted cables that gave little comfort. And looking up the road I could see two wide

other two changed direction... and it had been the three of them working together, I was certain of
it, like... a pack. So something like the dino equivalent of wolves then? Interesting. Well, interesting
in that they might be telling each other they were retreating. A dinosaurwhatever person would

but they weren t quite pushing it. Watching how they acted, I almost wanted to say they were

Communication was one thing, but that was a bit much. Nearing a junction in the road the sock
on my right foot slipped down under my heel, but I ignored it. Instead, I stopped at the fork to
look down both roads, standing on the rail where it crossed with another. Left and right, staying on
the road I was on would lead wherever, but the left was a road that connected with another

Prior to moving to Charlotte, I was charged with a traffic infraction in Montgomery County. Knowing this, I decided to move to Charlotte anyways and enroll in the spring semester of 2016. I also found a job before moving to Charlotte to help pay off my court fees and other necessities that I required. Later in the month of January, I received another infraction. During the month of February, I managed to pay off my court fees from my first infraction and manage my grades fairly. Whenever I had to pay off my second infraction, everything started to go downhill. This ticket was more expensive and the time frame was much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Outcome based practice is to deliver a service which is measured by the outcomes of the support delivered. From the initial stages of referral it is made clear what outcomes are expected to be achieved or worked towards. An individual s care co ordinator will draw up a pen picture representing the individual and disclosing details of the support that they require and a summary of their character, within this pen picture, required outcomes will be stated and it s down to us to detail how we can meet these outcomes within our practice. It is of upmost importance that the systems and processes used are in favour of the promotion of well being. Many professional parties involved in the care of an individual have many different systems and many different processes so to avoid confusion I will focus on some applicable to our organisation. The initial care needs assessment has a huge impact on the individual s well being as first contact with a service which will be playing a huge part in the delivery of your care can be quite daunting. It is important to make the individual feel valued, empowered and in control of their own care package. A good care needs assessment will reflect the individual s wants, dreams, aspiration s and how they want their life to be, it will highlight their true needs as well as their strengths. The review process should have the same result as the above and should ensure that changes are monitored, progress mapped and new goals and targets are set, it is imperative that the care plan gives a true and current reflection of the individual in order for them to receive the correct support. If read at first this statement may seem to be absurd but it is in fact the reality that plagues our country today. For one, it is determined that unemployment brings upon the prevalence of poverty but how come would the poor in the Philippines be in fact be in the midst of the employed? Emmanuel S. de Dios and Katrina I. Dinglasan have adequately answered this baffling phenomenon with historical data and mathematical computations thus proving that unemployment is not an effective measure of welfare, i.e., in our country. If the government will perhaps stimulate capital investments (by lower interest rates, there would be no need for low skill labor in this sector and the excess manpower derived from this movement may be diverted in other more productive means. Thus, about the last paper assignment regarding the three pronged approach to growth, I now question if the establishment of special labor employment zones would make the country better off especially now that it has been proven that poverty does not necessarily lessen with the surge of employment. Overall the rationalization that it is better for the poor to earn something than nothing regarding the special employment zone does not bode well for the country in terms of the welfare of its citizens, hence the government should do something concerning this implication. Now, what could the government do given the problem at hand? I think the government may still implement the special labor employment zones because overall it will still increase the country s productivity but aside from that the government, I think, in the short run could perhaps do capital investments especially in the agriculture sector, such as granting this sector the use of modern day equipment that would increase productivity but at a lower cost. In lieu with the years ahead the government should better concern itself in improving its human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most students will not have the same experience I have had during the strike, all situations are different however if no one voices their specific struggle we will remain faceless victims of an unjust system. As I have said I am 25 years old, I am a young woman and have never had a thing handed to me in my lifetime. • 9. The Contemporary Pay And Benefits Environment Must Comply... Summary: The contemporary pay and benefits environment must comply with the civil service compensation system. Designed with the assumption that an individual job was an essential unit of measurement and that the relationship of the one job to another, could be determined and its values assessed apart from the job incumbent. Under such a program, we must identify the elements as characterizing the future of compensation policy and practices. It is the utmost importance, to distinguish between long term verse shorter term perspective, performance, compensation, and the types of benefits within the level of retrenchment. Since the impact of such elements when dealing with the public sector, compensation policy and practices captured with the new pay. Further, by understanding the characteristics of new pay, the responsibility for day to day salary management shifts. Which also puts back the traditional classification from the broadband range and vast salaries ranges. For instance, paying the job and the person, and dealing with the emphases of performance appraisal, the range of rates, and peers, subordinates, and clients, and their customers. • 10. The Outside Dynamic Environment Punctuating Public Sector... A service is defined as an action of helping or doing work for someone . In the private sector the action of helping or doing work for someone is on the basis of making a profit and shareholder accountability, it is goal driven, profit motivation and reward orientated. In the public sector an action of helping or doing work for someone is supplying a public need such as transport, communications or health service. It is a service provided to the population with greater public scrutiny and is not profit motivated. Public sector organisations are agents of the state to do the states business and are not in a position to make a profit; they are mandated to provide a service to all. Public sector services are complex by nature by that I mean that they are difficult to manage and lead. It can be argued that there are many reasons for these complexities, notwithstanding the influence of context i.e. the outside dynamic environment punctuating public sector organisations globally. Some of the reasons for the complexities are beyond the organisations control e.g. population, who you serve, labour intensive, demographics etc. it cannot choose to exclude citizens but must treat all citizens fairly and equally. It is proposed to discuss the following complexities for public sector managers as I see being a challenge in my organisation in more detail 1.The effect of the political environment on public organisations. It was obviously easy for him to go over the bridge outside as well as run and cut corners. He seemed developmentally ahead of his classmates who could not do all of these things. In the classroom he demonstrated other good gross motor skills. When we came inside, just cleaned up, or finished an art project everyone was required to wash their hands. In front of the sink, there was a step a few inches off the ground. It enabled to kids to reach the running water. Isaac could easily step up when it was his turn. He would also demonstrate a combination of fine and gross motor skills when he finished washing his hands. Isaac would hold his paper towel from drying his hands to throw away and step down. He had indisputable control over what he was doing. His fine motor skills were excellent as well. He played the xylophone with a stick and expertly put the stick away into a small hole. This was something most of the other kids needed assistance with. He could hold onto balls and throw them as well.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lawyers have many task such as protecting their clients life as well as belongings, defending a client if legal action is taken towards them, and guiding their client in the right direction of legal advice from the law. Our law is very complex, rather than asking someone to learn the law, as citizens we just pay someone who knows them, studies them and has practiced them in various ways. In many cases lawyers have said wrong meaning in the court for something that the client had not even done, resulting in false accusation which could possibly put an innocent person away for nothing, this is why it is essential that lawyers prepare the way that they do. As a lawyer it is your job to prove adequate abilities towards your case and most of all your client. Seeking justice in the conclusion should be the attorneys goal even if the client presumes to be guilty. As a student with a passion for the study of law, I have no fear in being the first to say that justice is something we as people need to keep fighting for. Without justice who knows how things would be, our world would be a complete mess. Recognition of the good from the bad, as well as the just of our law, to the unjust. Becoming a lawyer is no easy task, in fact it is considered one of the more difficult choices as a career path. With law being so widely spread there are numerous approaches one may take in achieving the official goal in sight, being said, most find that the approach taken is not always the final result. • 14. Asian American Assimilation Into American Society From Chinatown to Monterey Park, Asian Americans across the boundaries of Los Angeles are flourishing from bustling inner cities to middle class suburbia. The suburban life style was originally created by white Americans for white Americans however in today s suburban cities and towns there seems to be a substantial group of Asians and Asian Americans thriving in these once predominately white areas(Li 1993, 318). The development of Asians and Asian Americans in the suburbs occurred through the following three ways, first is the development of Chinatown and how it became the Mecca for immigrants and the second is Asian Americanassimilation into American society. The last reason is the gentrification of towns such as Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. The development of Chinatown first began with the many Chinese immigrants that appeared in the United States. Because of the Transcontinental Railroad, many Chinese immigrants were paid laborers working on the project and were thought of by employers as reliable laborers who would work, without complaint, even under strenuous conditions(Norton 1924, 283 296). Chinese immigrants came in waves because of the grand opportunity. These immigrants were paid significantly lower wages than white workers, then blamed Chinese laborers for lashing down pay and taking away jobs. After the railroad was completed and white laborers in other industries began to fear for their jobs, anti Chinese attacks increased, including beatings, arson and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many enzymes correlate with DNA to assist them in translating, replicating and transcribing the enzymes in our body (Pierce, 2013). In Katherine Mansfield s short story, Miss Brill, it is a quickly established fact that Miss Brill has an odd relationship with her fur necklet (440). But it is the author s descriptive use of symbolism that provides a deeper understanding of Miss Brill s personality. Katherine Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque (441) in similarity to Miss Brill to reveal Miss Brill s identity in connection with her own fur piece and invite comparison, which further illustrates Miss Brill s perception of reality. (440), it is equivalent to a sad eyed Miss Brill asking herself that same question. Mansfield stresses the importance of evaluating the ermine toque (441) as a symbol by making her the only other character besides Miss Brill who is wearing a fur. However, this is not the only character fact the two women share. Intending to further define Miss Brill s bizarre personality and perception of life, Katherine Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque in similarity to Miss Brill. Miss Brill s description of this woman demonstrates that the two women share several character facts. Not only are both women wearing furs, but both women have possessed the furs for some time. Miss Brill refers to the ermine, an originally white fur, as being shabby and having turned yellowish (441), a color such a fur would turn with age. Miss Brill s own fur is old enough to require a dab of black sealing wax on the nose to revive its look from time to time (440). By saying that the woman wearing the ermine hat has taken on the same color of the fur (441), Miss Brill suggests that the woman herself has moved on in years. Miss Brill s own age, which is implied throughout the text, is distastefully proclaimed by the boy in the park, who refers to Miss Brill as that stupid old thing (443). Most importantly, ... Her visibility as a subject in literature, popular culture, and painting, from Redon who paints her drowning, to Bob Dylan, who places her on Desolation Row, to Cannon Mills, which has named a flowery sheet pattern after her, is in inverse relation to her invisibility in Shakespearean critical texts. According to David Leverenz, in an important essay called The Woman in Hamlet. Hamlet s disgust at the feminine passivity in himself is translated into violent revulsion against women, and into his brutal behaviour towards Ophelia. Ophelia s suicide, Leverenz argues, then becomes a microcosm of the male world s banishment of the female, because woman represents everything denied by reasonable men. To liberate Ophelia from the text, or to make her its tragic center, is to re appropriate her for our own ends; to dissolve her into a female symbolism of absence is to endorse our own marginality; to make her Hamlet s anima is to reduce her to a metaphor of male experience. I would like to propose instead that Ophelia does have a story of her own that feminist criticism can tell; it is neither her life story, nor her love story, nor Lacan s story, but rather the history of her representation. This essay tries to bring together some of the categories of French feminist thought about the feminine with the empirical energies of American historical and critical research; to yoke French theory and Yankee knowhow. • 26. Piaget s Theory Of Cognitive Development Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development Piaget s theory of cognitive development consists of four stages, these stages include the sensorimotor stage, the preoperational stage, the concrete operational stage, and the formal operational stage. When a person transitions from stage to stage they go through assimilation, accommodation, and equilibrium. The first stage, the sensorimotor stage, takes place from birth to two years. Piaget divided this stage into six substages. As an infant, I was always hungry. I was bottle fed, so I had to develop a simple reflexive behavior, such as sucking the nipple of the bottle. Simple reflexes refer to the first month after a child is born. At around two or three months old I experienced a primary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first substage occurs between the ages of two to four. As a child, I often played with tea sets and my friends and I would have little tea parties. When the glasses of the tea sets would touch and make a sound, we would say the glasses were hitting each other. This represents animism, because glasses are inanimate objects that cannot actually hit each other. The second substage begins at the age of four and ends at the age of seven. When I was this age, my favorite word was why, I would always ask questions. I had to know why things happened when they did. For example, when I first saw an ambulance drive by, I asked why there were sirens going off on the car. Our car obviously didn t have sirens when we drove, so I wanted to know why that ambulance made noise. This represented intuitive thought, because I showed interest in reasoning in why the ambulance was different from our car. The third stage is the concrete operational stage, which lasts from seven to eleven years of age. In this stage, children begin to reason when the logical reasoning can be applied to concrete examples. An example of this for me was when I would eat candy with my friends, we all wanted the same amount so everything would be fair. According to Piaget, if we could decipher the amounts correctly even if the candy pieces were different shaped, we would be successful at completing concrete ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was a committed civil libertarian who believed that the constitution guarantees freedom and equality of rights and opportunities...to all people of this nation , One approach that Brennan made with his ideal was in voting rights, such as his opinion in Baker v. Sims, in 1964, which further enforced the constitutional principle of one person one vote. Another concretion of Brennan s ideals was in the area of freedom of speech. His opinion in New York Times Co. v. Sullivan greatly expanded freedom of press by prohibiting officials from recovering damages of published false statements, or libel, unless they prove that the statement was made with knowledge that it was false. This gave way to a more open political discussion in the media like the one that America currently owns. Desegregation and sex discrimination were, too, within Brennnan s sphere of influence. In the case of Green v. County School Board of New Kent, Brennan s opinion dismantled the last barriers to desegregation. In the Case of Shapiro v. Beyond Happiness And Unhappiness Summary In Steven Donoso s essay Beyond Happiness and Unhappiness, Ekhart Tolle makes his views concerning how individuals attempt to establish and define their personality clear. He constantly emphasizes the points that life and Now are one (6) and that we live in a world of mental abstraction, conceptualization, and image making a world of thought (6). Essentially, what Tolle states is that one usually do not have much say in who they are or who they are becoming, people are merely conditioned by external forces such as family and the past, society, technology, and religion to think the way they do and unless they can see the conditioning in themselves they will be unable to get free of it. According to Tolle, one of the biggest influences that help to define who we are is our family. He states that from the moment a parent tells their child their name people s sense of identity... gets bound up with their mental concepts and mental images of I and me (6). In saying this, he is basically saying that we are conditioned as soon as we can identify ourselves with our name because at this point, we have already begun to label ourselves. Could you imagine the lack of safety standards during this time period? The non fictional story, Flesh and Blood So Cheap, by Albert Marrin, uses explicit and implicit evidence throughout the text to convey his theme about the unsafe conditions that resulted into the tragedy of the Triangle Fire. First of all, Marrin uses explicit ideas to inform readers about some of the events in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. For example, he states in the text that a worker in the building had probably thrown away a cigar in the trash, which started the fire. In the first paragraph, the text states, Most likely, a cutter flicked a hot ash or tossed a live cigarette butt into the scrap bin. From this phrase, readers can obviously tell that if the cutter had not used the cigarette in the first place, the fire might have never occurred. PARAGRAPH 3 As Linton states, a person holds a status, and performs a role . Simply put, a status is a position and a role is a set of behaviours. With each status, follows a certain role for us to take part in. People tend to adapt to roles, moving through different roles in fluency as student, son, friend.Because people tend to have many different statuses and therefore, many different roles, conflict occasionally occurs among the various roles. The concept of role conflict is conflict among the roles connected to two or more statuses (ref). A good example of role conflict lies in the working mother; she must take on the responsibilities of mothering the children at home while taking on the responsibilities of working outside the home, away from the children, in order to earn an income (RR). This kind of conflict involves roles which arise from separate statuses, but the same sort of conflict can occur from the roles of a single status.
