2. 1. What do we mean by character?
• Character is the quality of man
which he cultivates and
develops in him for a very long
time. The character one built will
definitely determine one’s own
destiny.
• Character is the particular
combination of qualities in a
person or place that makes
them different from others
(Cambridge Dictionary).

“Character is the tree,
reputation is the shadow.” Our
character is much more than
just what we display for others
to see, it is who we are even no
one is watching.

• Loyalty

People with good character chooses to do the right thing because they
believes it is the morally right to do.
5. 3. What is difference between values and virtues?

Values
Values are principles or standards that are considered as important or
desirable. Values are related to preference, ethnic, background,
attitudes, behavior, cultures, and way of life. Values are the standards
we use in making judgment about what is important in life and what is
right or wrong in human behavior. We judge ourselves and others in
term of our values, we might not agree with another person’s values, but
everyone lives by values everyone makes judgements about what is
important in life through their lives.

Virtues
Virtues are personal character traits that embody and express values that are judged
desirable and being good in a person.
Virtues have high moral standards such as loving-kindness, compassion, caring, honesty
and patience.
Virtues represent good morals of people. It is a positive trait that is considered the
foundation of a morally principled person.
Virtues could also be shaped by religious and beliefs of people while values are shaped by
the culture or the society people live in.
7. How do we deal with conflicting values?
Conflicting values occurs when people have different ideas
or directions at the same time. To deal with this conflicting
values, you have to:
• Communication with your partner
• Give the reason to them why you do like that.
• Try to explain with the good words to them.
• Find a good way to go together.
• To be an active listener with them.

4. Why is character education important in daily
work and relationship with students?
Important of character education in daily work:
• Character education can set the rules for us and teach us to think and
do the right things and have our own discipline.
• Character can lead our destiny and help us to reach our goal.
• Lack of good character means we lack of something essential.
• At work place, hard skill is not enough. People need more soft skill
that called “ Character”
• No matter how good skill we have, if we lack of good character and
lose respect from the others that workplace we’ll be like a trash.
• Work place is the place that needs us to be trustworthy, loyalty,
respect and kind.

Character education is important in relationship with students:
• Character education: students always study from teachers because the teachers are role
model and help the students in the good right way.
• Teachers also sometime need learn from the students, too.
• Character education: teaches the students the concept how to love, honesty, responsibility,
caring others and respect, love theirs society.
• Character education: teaches them to be good behavior of model character and good virtue.
