Canterbury Tales Henry Analysis
Garnel Severe 5/31/1It start as an antechamber of the royal palace in London, where the Archbishop of
Canterbury and the Bishop of Ely(which is me) are discussing a bill, waiting for twelve years past,
which will prieve the Church of many people. They also comment on their new monarch, Canterbury
remarking that although Henry V s youth presaged little good, he is now a model ruler. All he says in
praise of the King s wisdom, is confirmed by the Bishop of Ely, who adds that just as strawberries
grow beneath the nettle, the King s virtues have ripened and developed under cover of his wildness,
ere he inquires how Henry views the bill they have discussed? Canterbury replies that although the

Argumentative Essay On Muscle Cars
Muscle Cars with Shaker Hoods
The Classic Muscle Car with a Shaker Hood
Owning a muscle car with a shaker hood isn t for everybody. Even fans of aggressive looking hood
scoops would sometimes rather see them as part of the sheet metal hood structure as opposed to a
giant sized and oddly shaped air cleaner.
However, for those wanting to see their engine come to life, while sitting in the driver seat, this option
will continue to be a popular one. Here we ll discuss some of the All American muscle cars that made
this option available. We ll also discuss a few problems associated with an air scoop connected to a
moving engine, protruding like a periscope through a large hole cut in the hood.
Background on the Shaker Hood
Although you probably already know where the name comes from, let s quickly give this part a
definition and discuss its origins. In 1969 the [Ford Mustang design team] was looking for a unique
hood scoop to use on their aggressive V8 engines. Customers in the muscle car market liked the idea
of a ram air set up to improve airflow on [the single four barrel carburetor] mounted on the Cobra and

Capstone Goal Assignment Analysis
For our capstone goals and objectives assignment, we were required to create a minimum of four
measurable and specific goals with a minimum of three objectives to achieve each of those goals. My
first goal was: the ability to independently prepare a patient for an IV placement based on
developmental age, misconceptions, and current understanding, across all ages while applying child
development and identifying/evaluating the best distraction/diversion techniques. The three objectives
to achieve this goal were as follows: Objective 1.) During my first rotation observe and become more

Hercules Origins
In the movie Hercules is the child of Zeus(The god of the Sky) and Hera(The goddess of Marriage and
Birth). In the movie when Hercules is taken by Hades s minions Hera is devastated and Zeus is
incredibly angry and when Hercules asks questions Zeus is there to answer Hercules s questions.
When Hercules meets up with his parents again they are incredibly excited to see him.
In the myth he has the same father but his mother is Alcmene who is the wife of Amphitryon. When
Hera ( Zeus s wife) finds out about Hercules she gets so mad that she tries to kill him in his crib with 2
serpents but he has super strength so he strangles both of the snakes with Hera s plan failing and
Hercules surviving. Later he marries Deianeira and Hera tricks her into giving him a cape that she said
would make him loyal to her but it was poisoned and he couldn t take it off and he tried to kill himself
but his father Zeus took him and made him immortal,

Myers Briggs Type Indicator Is A Personality Inventory
Myers Briggs Type Indicator in Business
Introduction
I chose the Myers Briggs Type Indicator topic for my paper because I find it interesting. I have taken
the actual Myers Briggs Test through the career counseling center on campus, and it gave me a bit of
direction in my life. However, I thought it would be more useful to discover the background on it and
see how it functions within business. I think using an inventory can tell people a great deal about
themselves. Similar to the collection of inventories we have taken in class, they give invaluable insight
to the way one works, thinks, and acts. This has basis in my area of study, psychology. I think
knowing they way one thinks and communicates can help people reach and expand ... Show more

Any and all experiences in life involved two basic processes perception and interpretation. Perception
is what we experience and interpretation is what we make of the experience (Goby Lewis, 2000). The
typology was based off Carl Jung s beliefs, but was researched in the 1940 s and 1950 s. Following the
end of World War II, the idea was picked up and worked on by Katherine C. Briggs, who had seen
incompatible matches during the war between skills of individuals and the duties they were given. She
wanted to find an instrument that could make it easier to select appropriate people for their respected
jobs. Katherine Briggs daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, eventually joined her mother in her research
(Goby Lewis, 2000).
Extraversion vs. Introversion
The first preference in the inventory is called Favorite World, this means where a person focuses their
attention ( MBTI Basics n.d.). The two options are E or I, Extraversion or Introversion. Focusing
attention on people and things or the outer world, is extraversion. Focusing attention on the ideas and
information or one s inner world is introversion (Hammer, 2014). People who prefer extraversion
usually put more effort into activities and the people surrounding them. The opposite of that is those
who typically put more effort into themselves and prefer introversion ( Myers Briggs Type Indicator
(MBTI) 2014). If a person

The Family Aspect Of The Quilt
In a perfect world, the Caribbean is like a quilt that has been stitched together by a mother or
grandmother. It eventually comes together to form a unique blanket that incorporates a multi
dimensional group of different pieces of colors and sizes in its final product. The maternal aspect of
the quilt, represents the Euro colonial influence that was responsible for the colonialization of the
Caribbean region. All patches have their own unique shape and design, and eventually come together
to make a fragmented image on the quilt. The fragmented image, created by different colors, shapes
and patterns, represent the different cultures and races that are all interrelated to each other in the
Caribbean. And each individual patch, represents a different island nation, and the thread, cotton and
embroidery that weaves the patches together, represents the languages and ideologies that have come
together over the course of history, to bond these island nations together.
Today, however, the Caribbean countries struggle a great deal with human development. These
struggles have arisen as a result of the lack of unity in self identity, with respect to the idea of
fragmentation. Mintz describes fragmentation to be a patchwork quilt of societies and cultures, which
arose through the colonization and exploitation of the Caribbean region. This exploitation of the
regions resources, such as sugar, coffee, gold and other natural resources, by the colonizing country

Imagine a government that denies 1,138 rights and benefits to a certain group of people who have not
broken any laws. Would you support this government? In the United States, same sex couples face
exactly this kind of discrimination. Since the 1920 s the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans) community
has been fighting for equality, starting with the Society of Human Rights in Chicago, the earliest
known gay rights organization ( American 1). The movement transformed completely from a couple
of activists to a widespread protest in the 1969 Stonewall Riots. A gay bar in New York, called the
Stonewall Inn, experienced a late night police raid for supposed bootlegging of alcohol. However,

Although the opposition holds that gay marriage disrupts the traditional institution of marriage and
creates an environment unfit for children, in actuality it is a civil right that provides economic and
social benefits without being harmful to society in any way, shape, or form.
Opponents of legalizing gay marriage claim homosexuality is against natural order and view marriage
as a sacred pact between a man and a woman. In their eyes, it will ruin the traditional institution of
marriage. In 1971, the Supreme Court decided that the institution of marriage as a union [was] of man
and woman in the Baker v. Nelson case ( Gay 2). The United States government has defined marriage
as such. Allowing homosexuals to marry will redefine the very foundation that Americans thrive on.
And whose to say it will end with gays being allowed to wed? The entire process will lead down a
slippery slope of allowing polygamous, incestuous, bestial, and other nontraditional relationships
being able to marry ( Gay 2). In addition, marriage is for the sake of procreation and children are
negatively affected in a queer environment. The statistics speak for themselves. Children raised by gay
couples constantly lack either a father or a mother figure and are thus 12% more likely to engage in
homosexuality and promiscuity (Roleff 87). Kids can never identify with their own gender or have an
opposite gender role model in a homosexual atmosphere. We need the future generation to grow up in

innovative emotions that Hepburn portrays. She was fully committed in playing Anne, the sheltered

performance that Hepburn projected was successfully believable to the audience because she had the
poise and attitude that a princess would normally have. I personally enjoyed and believed the acting
skills that Audrey Hepburn had throughout the film, she executed her performance very fittingly and

The Central Banks Of The World
The Central Banks of the world have a role in today s society to provide stability to the economy.
Through monetary policy, the Central Banks must utilize the daily economic data in order to make
policy decisions that attempt to ensure continuous growth and prosperity. The Central Banks do this
through regulating inflation as well as implementing specific goals such as currency stability, low
inflation and full employment (Heakal). In 2008 the global financial crisis hit numerous nations
around the world and each Central Bank saw their economies crash, consumers lose market
confidence, investors stop investing, and banks stop lending. If the money stops circulating in the
economy banks [can t] provide customers with a variety of basic financial services; [such as] an on
demand source of bank notes; deposits and savings accounts; payment services; and ... credit, to both
business and households (Fisher 2). The credit crunch was experienced throughout the world and each
Central Bank laid out their plans in order to halt and begin recovering from the crisis and set the
economy back to a stable 2% inflation. Along with The Federal Reserve, the Bank of England s
conventional attempts at restoring the economy never had enough of an impact to jump start the
economy. An unconventional crisis called for unconventional resolutions. The Bank of England turned
to unconventional monetary policies when all else failed. The utilization of the practice of quantitative

The Housing Market Crash
Literature Review:
2007, that was the year that everyone knew the world was about to change. Many analysts studying
the markets knew that this day would come to surface. Among the citizens, few actually knew the
problems the housing market was having while many of them just noticed that they were now able to
purchase their dream home. Many Americans that knew that background however, were not aware of
what exactly sparked this issue, nor what was in store for them (Natl. GPO .2) At the time, many
citizens were not aware of what was going on in the housing market. The financial crisis would impact
several people for many years to come (Yanis.6). While many researchers may argue that large

While this action may be a short term cost to a long term solution, the generation paying the price will
be Generation Y and the Millennial. One major factor that comes with job market regulation is the
hike of minimum wage in order to meet the rising costs of every day goods. One of the only things
that economists agree on is that minimum wage kills jobs (Herlot, 783). This is a current issue that is
playing out in the United States economy today. The Bush and the Obama Administration factors on
the job market (Sanchez, Kopp, Sanzari, 243) has already had a major role in job losses throughout the
United States. There is an increasing gap in the job market between citizens with minimal education
needing minimum wage increases in order to obtain basic needs and educated individuals who can t
seem to find a job. With the current financial situation in mind, the amount post grad individuals with
significant amount of dept. is a problem. With the growth rate of the country s debt., unemployment
may see a significant increase in the next ten years (Reich, 174). Debt is currently increasing not only
due to the regulations of the job market, but also with the policies that currently exist. Recent policies
such as Medicare for all, and School Vouchers according to family income (Reich, 06), are costing the

The Theme Of Love In Sonnet 116
The theme of love is presented in different ways by various poets through the use of diverse linguistic
techniques, such as metaphorical and emotive language, and personification to express their strong
viewpoints on love. Many poets, including Shakespeare, believe that love is spontaneous and
immeasurable. However, other poets such as Carol Ann Duffy bring out the negative consequences of
love. She believes love starts and stops, one minute you are together and the other you are isolated.
She emphasises the intimidating and overpowering aspect of love. Overall, the poets present three
focal aspects of love which are; love, separation, and betrayal.

In the Case McDonald v. City of Chicago resident Mr. Otis McDonald is a 76 year old retired engineer
who has lived in his neighborhood for about 40 years. Over time his peaceful community has been
overtaken by gangs and drug dealers. His home and property have been littered on a regular basis and

Industrialization in Ireland
When Ireland began to industrialize in the 1960s and 1970s, why did it mostly occur in rural Ireland
and what were the consequences for the rural residence?
Industrialisation in the 1960s and 1970s.
When most people in the world think of Ireland, they imagine green fields with farm animals, old
cottages, stone walls, rocky roads, people riding around on horse back and men working in the bogs.
However Ireland actually has one of the quickest fastest economies in the world. Rural
Industrialisation played a huge role in this growth. Industrialisation is a very important part of Irish
history. It was a new beginning for the Irish people living in rural areas and it created a change in
gender composition within the labour force. Women were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also affected family relationships as the women no longer experienced the world solely with their
families. Women would usually be given land from their fathers to build a family home however with
them now receiving their own wage from the factories some would build their houses elsewhere with
their spouses to maintain their independence from their fathers. Their independence also caused family
diversity on religious views as women weren t following the traditional Irish way of life. As they were
not under supervision, they could travel to other towns to buy condoms, going against their religious
faith. Diversity developed between the entrepreneurial middle class and the working class in the rural
areas as there was differences in wages, education and jobs. This meant that the interclass was blurred
creating a class less society.
Hiring of women had some consequences for trade unions. Since the 1970s we have seen the
increasing of trade unions militancy in the state sector leading to them declining in the private sector.
This is because of their lack of attention to the needs and rights of the women working in these
factories. Three ways the trade union could have provided for these women working in the factories
are equal pay, crèches and maternity

Awakened to the Psychological Concepts Portrayed in Film The film Awakenings is an emotional film
that tells the story of a doctor, named Dr. Malcolm Sayer played by Robin Williams, who starts work

works and soon all of the once statuesque patients are reanimated, but only for a short time, and sadly
soon Leonard and the rest of his fellow patients regress to their original catatonic state. However,

O.J. Simpson TV miniseries called The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, in which the
famous arrested football stated from behind bars: I m not black. I m O.J. with Jay Z, skeptical replied
okay . He might have responded that way because Simpson, like many other prominent African
American figures who have made it, have wrongly thought that his or her owns success would exempt
them from the reality of racially discrimination in America. Jay Z compares this narrow minded
mentality to drug dealers risking their lives over corners that they don t even own, and athletes who
turn their back on their community when they make it big and to rappers who sign away control of
their careers to big names who like Warner Bros who once, engaged in the production of cartoons with

Meaning that even if O.J. did not want to be categorized or held down by the label of being black he
will also be seen has a black man no matter how much he tries to conform to the standard of blackness
that white society will be willing to accept. This is evident in the case of Nat King Cole, where during
the 1960s he and a few other African Americans were able to play the leading role shows that were
actually based on the lives of African Americans but they still forced to conform to a setting that did
not allow them to discuss issues concerning cultural repetitions, social themes, and professional
conventions that they dared not transgress (156). This is the same conformation process that Hip Hop
artistes have found themselves in today as the lay helpless in the hands of the top media houses in the

Prenatal Care
During pregnancy, anatomical and physiological changes considered significant take place, which
affect the woman s body, since this is an adaptive phase in which the female body requires ongoing
professional follow up, i.e., the earlier the beginning of prenatal care, the better the results. Within this
scenario, we should highlight the importance of the nursing professional with regard to its
performance, thereby emphasizing the activities related to prenatal care. For this reason, this work is
intended to: analyze the scientific publications about the importance of nurses when providing
prenatal care; identify the scientific publications about the importance of nurses when providing

Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review
Critical Review of manuscript
This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking the
four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor and
Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were observed on
different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles would be better
to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be worth reporting as
it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on different species due to
increasing human population and their approach towards them.
The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The title
would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article describing its
result.
The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background information
or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the methodology of their
study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific clear cut quantitative or
qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message.
The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The aim
was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear.

Humility Among the Kung! Essay
Humility is a valuable attribute in the character of an individual, in society and in a culture.
Cultivating this value in can be learned through psychological exercise, misfortune, costly mistakes,
and various other methods. Such was the case with Ontah, the anthropologist in the story, Eating
Christmas in the Kalahari.
As an expression of gratitude towards the !Kung Bushmen and there families for there cooperation,
Ontah purchased the largest meatiest ox he could find for the Christmas festivities. After living with
the !Kung Bushmen for three years, with experience and observation of the Tswana Herrero custom of
slaughtering an ox for Christmas, makes it apparent that Ontah s ox was not the choice of a novice.
As the word circulated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But his driven passion for anthropology superceded his desire to run in shame. The Christmas
morning slaughtering and distribution of this so called old skinny ox would be the perfect opportunity
to observe the reaction of the Bushmen when the meat supposedly would run out. That Christmas
morning the ox was slaughtered with one shot to the head. As the men prepared to butchered the ox,
with Ontah standing close by to observe the quality of his pick, it became clear that this ox was more
than sufficient to feed everyone. Ontah celebrated the abundance of fat, meat and large bones of the
ox. Mingle with his celebration was the laughter of the Bushmen at Ontah s relief of frustration. Ontah
realized that the joke was on him. This was no consolation to his baffling experience. But it brought
on more misunderstanding as to why would the whole village play such a terrible joke on him?
Through investigation of his informants, the lesson behind the joke became clear. These people live
very close to the earth. They hunt for their food. When a hunter brings in a kill, it is unacceptable for
him to be braggadocios about it. So when the hunters are successful, there efforts and there rewards
are always belittled. One informant explained to Ontah that if a young hunter kills a large beast he
feels like he is a big man and everyone else is inferior. This is not acceptable. If a

Disney Misogyny
In Disney films, there is a lot of misogyny amongst female main characters. Many people in our
society have noticed a significant difference in the speaking roles between male and female characters
that Disney created, as men had way more lines than the women. Because these movies were mostly
created in the mid late 1900 s, this was the time that there was plenty of prejudice against females.
Now, in the year 2017, females are getting a little more equality than before to the point where many
females now have jobs that were only for males in the 1900 s. Most Disney movies for that matter
involve some sort of misogyny, even the ones that recently came out such as Brave and Frozen .
Examples of various levels of misogyny can be noticed in Disney films such as Ariel in The Little
Mermaid (1989), directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie is about a 16 year old
mermaid who wants to live on land with a human Prince named Eric but is only able to after making a
dangerous wish with Ursula the Sea Witch to be a human for three days. In this movie Ariel The
Mermaid , prejudice can be seen in Ursula, by a female having too much authority, Ariel cannot speak,
and Ariel uses her appearance to attract others.
Firstly, Ursula the Sea Witch can be seen with a ton of power. The power turns Ursula evil and
manipulative, which shows that females that have too much power should be removed from society,
just like Ursula. ...And now, look at me wasted away to practically

the New York Cafe, Biff Brannon, seems to remember information about his past after he listens to

Examples Of Certainty In To Kill A Mockingbird
Does having too much certainty make you strive for the impossible? Is the effect of doubting yourself
more harmful than helpful? Certainty motivates people, yet doubt makes sure you know your limits.
When striving for success, your certainty needs to be a stronger feeling than doubt. In the novel, To
Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows Ms. Dubose s certainty and doubt. In chapter 11, Atticus is
talking to Jem and Scout about Ms. Dubose s death and said, She said she was going to leave this
world beholden to nothing and nobody. Jem, when you re sick as she was, it s all right to take anything
to make it easier, but it wasn t all right for her. She said she meant to break herself of it before she
died, and that s what she did. Even though she was a morphine addict and slowly dying, she was
certain to die her way. She could have doubted her strength against the drug, yet she fought through it.
Jem read to her everyday as a punishment for losing his head and helped her focus to stay awake. It
was because of her certainty that she obtained her goal of dying in her own way. ... Show more content

For example, in Genesis Noah was faced with ultimate test of certainty or doubt for God. When told to
build an ark, he could have doubted God instantly. Why would he want to kill all of mankind except
Noah and his family? Wasn t he supposed to be a loving god? Yet Noah followed every single
command that God gave him. He ignored all of the men that mocked him. He built a humongous ark
that took years and years to build, filled it with an seven pairs of clean animals and a pair of unclean
animals, and was in the ark for 150 days while the earth was flooded. That shows how certainty can
turn into devotion and make you succeed, no matter if it takes a long time or you re made fun of.
Regardless, this type of faith shows how a certainty of God is not possible with

The Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five
The Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five Regarding his views on war, Albert Einstein said in 1931,
[he] who joyfully marches to music in rank and file... has been given a large brain by mistake, since
for him a spinal cord would surely suffice. Slaughterhouse Five, written by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., is a
satirical World War II novel. The novel focuses on Billy Pilgrim s experiences. He develops
schizophrenia during the war and consequently feels as if he lives in moments, opposed to
chronologically, as well as claiming to be abducted by aliens living on the planet Tralfamadore.

because he never knows what part of his life he is going to act in next (22). Billy experiences extreme
suffering in many moments and finds himself constantly helpless because of his mental state. This
causes the audience to feel sympathy for Billy, and disgust towards what causes his suffering, which is
the war. Vonnegut manipulates the audience s feelings towards war regarding Billy Pilgrim s insanity
as well as through Edgar Derby s doomed fate. Edgar Derby demonstrates the insanity of war through
his doomed fate despite his potential for greatness. Edgar Derby s fate is announced early on in the
novel by the narrator, who emphasizes Edgar Derby s death because [the] irony is so great... [a] whole
city gets burned down... [and] then this one American foot soldier is arrested in the ruins for taking a
teapot... and he s shot by the firing squad (5). The irony and injustice of Edgar Derby s death is meant
to show the audience that war has no sense of what is fair because it is so brutal. Through this,
Vonnegut attempts to make the audience angry with war. During the war, Edgar Derby spends much of
his time imagining letters he would send to his wife, telling [her] he was alive and well, that she
[should not] worry, that the war was nearly over, that he would be home soon (183). This causes the
audience to feel sympathy for Edgar Derby because the audience knows he will be killed after the
bombing of Dresden. The irony of the imaginary letters also

Argumentative Essay Smoking
The numbers of people who smoke have increased over the years. Although they are equipped with
the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice
and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is
not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to
smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people
around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke travels everywhere through
the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking
should be banned in all public places.
People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing
stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and
wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be. Besides
that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as well. There is a
saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the actions of others as
they see it in their daily lives. Teenagers happen to think that smoking makes a person cool . When
they see adults doing it on the streets, it strengthens their belief in the coolness of smoking. Some
teenagers think that smoking marks their transition

Their work ethic can be measured by, as the say goes, work to live, not live to work. By working, they
can spend more money enjoying life and living it to the fullest. The industrialized northern area of
Italy has a stricter view, and considers the southern area to be a burden when it comes to their
differences in work ethics. People that work in government offices have been known to work very
short hours, and sometimes not opening for the day at all. Those working in more private divisions
tend to work longer hours than government officials. People that tend to work harder than others do
not appear to because they find ways to enjoy their time. Business owners, on the other hand, are well
respected in Italy. (Gioseffi, Szerlip, and Watson, 2001, pg. 40)
Hierarchical structures are always maintained within Italian companies. Below the CEO or business
owner, the executives are on the same level authority. The business s senior employees are mostly

Throughout their time with the company, the newer employees are expected to prove themselves
before they are admitted into the inner circle. (Gioseffi, Szerlip, and Watson, 2001, pg.

Executive Order 12898
The prevalence of environmental issues in the public awareness reached a point where government
was forced to take action in 1979. When Henry Love abandoned construction of a canal in New York
in 1920, the site was bought by Hooker Chemical and used as a toxic chemical waste dumping site for
the next 33 years (Schons 2011). Then in 1953 Hooker Chemical sold the Love Canal to the school
board, and construction of a school began. In the mid to late 1970s, when children s shoes began
melting to the ground and children got sick the residents organized and protested. Media coverage
increased and showed toxic black sludge oozing into people s basements (Schons 2011). The lack of

Comparison Between Hard Rock And Postmodernism
Sociology Nate McDonald
Between a Hard Rock and Postmodernism 9/17/12
I. What is the sociological question?
What are the features of postmodern spaces? II. What is the analytical approach?
Borchard s approach at the opening of the Hard Rock was a participant observation approach.
Borchard wanted to get into the Hard Rock Café the opening night is Las Vegas because he wanted to
part of the concert, and the once in a lifetime experience like everyone else in line. The line expanded
around the 75ft spectacle of the Gibson guitar. Like everyone else, Borchard wanted to be a part of the

The world is depending less and less on the individual and wants people to be more like society to fit
in and be how the bigger picture sees it, they want people to be seen as the famous people are and
rebel or look a certain way. If a normal man tried to get into the Hard Rock concert (like the blonde
man s friend) they were denied because their look wasn t right for the concert and wouldn t be
acceptable. Another man that Borchard talked to showed a way that society changed. It s called a
microwave relationship and that was when the man just opened up and told Borchard his entire life
story and he has never met the man before in his life. The man talked about his whole crappy life to
Borchard but he didn t care, he wasn t interested but this proved another point of his. In the
postmodern world people are becoming more and more open with complete strangers. In result the
things in the world weren t lasting people couldn t keep secrets people just rambled on about anything
and everything from their own lives even to others, and didn t think twice about it. The new
postmodern world was departing from morals and individual expectations to gossip and looks. People
now want to know and are willing to tell, people are not individuals but seem to stray towards the
actions of those who society now says we should act like. The things in the world are

Essay On Hand-Engineered Feature Extraction Techniques
2.1 Introduction
In last few years, remote sensing image scene classification has got a remarkable attention due to its
importance. Researchers are trying hard to classify remote sensing images correctly. For this reason,
we have studied different topics related to this research. Rest of this chapter will describe some
important Hand Engineered feature extraction methods along with deep learning technique. In section
2.2, we will discuss some hand engineered feature extraction methods, in section 2.3, we will discuss
some deep learning models and finally, in section 2.4 we will draw a conclusion.

LBP [1] is very simple to understand and easy to implement. To compute LBP at first we need to
divide the image into cells like 16X16. Then take a pixel into the grid and consider the neighboring
pixels around the pixel. If the center pixel value is greater than or equal to its neighbor, then consider
1 for the neighboring pixel otherwise consider 0. Then take the binary numbers in a sequence
(clockwise or anti clockwise). Assume the number is a binary number and compute the decimal
number. Then set the value to the middle pixel. Compute histogram for each 16x16 cells and finally
concatenate the histograms. The histogram gives the feature vector for entire window. Example of
LBP feature extraction is given in the Figure 2.1
Figure 2.1: Finding decimal value for central pixel using LBP
LBP has some limitations that reduces its application fields. LBP is not rotation invariant and the size
of the features increases exponentially with the number of neighbors which leads to an increase of
computational complexity in terms of time and space.
2.2.1 Noise Adaptive Binary Pattern (NABP)
Noise adaptive binary pattern [12] is a modification of local binary pattern. Though LPB is one of the
most powerful method for feature extraction but it has a lack of discriminative power and sensitive to
noise. LBP may produce same

Religious Persecution of Christian Beliefs
Religious Persecution of Christian Beliefs What is religious persecution? At the beginning of this
project, I thought religious persecution was a black and white topic with a clear definition. I thought
that religious persecution was simply the persecution of a group because of their religious faith.
However, I discovered that there are no simple explanations of religious persecution, and it is a much
more complex and controversial issue than I had imagined. In fact, some events categorized as
religious persecution reveal only shades of grey and ambiguities and do not neatly fit this simple
definition. I wanted others to come to this same understanding. Therefore, I have formulated my own
definition of religious persecution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Living Conditions ( World Bank )
living conditions (World Bank). The rationale behind the large loan is the boost in temporary
employment, the importance of using municipal government agents, and overall implementing
structural changes that in turn would transform the state of Gabon in the long run. Other actions that
have been taken include implementing social safety nets as a form of addressing the poverty
associated with inequality. Programs such as Carte d indigent only focused on short term transfers
such as free medicine, food, family allowance, and cash in order to temporarily reduce the number of
those under the poverty line (World Bank PRE). Unfortunately, these transfers were solely dependent
on government funding and the shrinking social budget made the program practically worthless today.
An emphasis can also be placed on the roots of inequality; poor governance with faulty transparency
and a regime with various ties to privileged inner circles in France and domestically, leads the World
Bank to classify Gabon as a rent based economy (World Bank PRE). The emphasis on rent denotes the
importance of how much inequality actually influence the economy in Gabon, especially when those
additional profits come from manipulation of the rules and institutions to begin with. It is also
important to note that the distinctions between urban and rural poverty have yet to be officially
documented through an effective survey or metric. The reality is that a significant majority of Gabon

Developing A Sustainable Marketing And Human Resource...
Description of the Project Proposal
The project requirement as I understand is to develop a sustainable marketing and human resource
structure for a well established Childcare centre that caters for local families with pre school aged
children in the surrounding suburbs and Swinburne University community.
This structure must have a low financial budget and also cater for further expansion in the future. The
client has indicated that they are actively seeking to advertise and raise the view of Kindergarten with
the aim of filling both 3 Year old and 4 year old programs to their capacity. Therefore it is very
important that the planned structure can fulfil the requirements of the clients. It is also mentioned that
the client is very cautious of a structure that all new individuals can follow even if they don t have the
right skills and experience needed to finish the task. This is proposed in the form of the Annual
Marketing Plan, which will be conducted by volunteers who constantly keep changing every year.
Therefore this designed structure must cater for the client with this particular need. Furthermore, the
client has indicated an interest in the professional development of their staff and would like to conduct
programs that would help the staff be motivated in the work they perform. Although this is not yet
confirmed as a definite trial, the designed structure should be able to achieve this possibility.

  • 3. Canterbury Tales Henry Analysis Garnel Severe 5/31/1It start as an antechamber of the royal palace in London, where the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Ely(which is me) are discussing a bill, waiting for twelve years past, which will prieve the Church of many people. They also comment on their new monarch, Canterbury remarking that although Henry V s youth presaged little good, he is now a model ruler. All he says in praise of the King s wisdom, is confirmed by the Bishop of Ely, who adds that just as strawberries grow beneath the nettle, the King s virtues have ripened and developed under cover of his wildness, ere he inquires how Henry views the bill they have discussed? Canterbury replies that although the King seemed almost indifferent, an offer the Church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Argumentative Essay On Muscle Cars Muscle Cars with Shaker Hoods The Classic Muscle Car with a Shaker Hood Owning a muscle car with a shaker hood isn t for everybody. Even fans of aggressive looking hood scoops would sometimes rather see them as part of the sheet metal hood structure as opposed to a giant sized and oddly shaped air cleaner. However, for those wanting to see their engine come to life, while sitting in the driver seat, this option will continue to be a popular one. Here we ll discuss some of the All American muscle cars that made this option available. We ll also discuss a few problems associated with an air scoop connected to a moving engine, protruding like a periscope through a large hole cut in the hood. Background on the Shaker Hood Although you probably already know where the name comes from, let s quickly give this part a definition and discuss its origins. In 1969 the [Ford Mustang design team] was looking for a unique hood scoop to use on their aggressive V8 engines. Customers in the muscle car market liked the idea of a ram air set up to improve airflow on [the single four barrel carburetor] mounted on the Cobra and [Boss V8 engines]. ... • 8. Myers Briggs Type Indicator Is A Personality Inventory Myers Briggs Type Indicator in Business Introduction I chose the Myers Briggs Type Indicator topic for my paper because I find it interesting. I have taken the actual Myers Briggs Test through the career counseling center on campus, and it gave me a bit of direction in my life. However, I thought it would be more useful to discover the background on it and see how it functions within business. I think using an inventory can tell people a great deal about themselves. Similar to the collection of inventories we have taken in class, they give invaluable insight to the way one works, thinks, and acts. This has basis in my area of study, psychology. I think knowing they way one thinks and communicates can help people reach and expand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any and all experiences in life involved two basic processes perception and interpretation. Perception is what we experience and interpretation is what we make of the experience (Goby Lewis, 2000). The typology was based off Carl Jung s beliefs, but was researched in the 1940 s and 1950 s. Following the end of World War II, the idea was picked up and worked on by Katherine C. Briggs, who had seen incompatible matches during the war between skills of individuals and the duties they were given. She wanted to find an instrument that could make it easier to select appropriate people for their respected jobs. Katherine Briggs daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, eventually joined her mother in her research (Goby Lewis, 2000). Extraversion vs. Introversion The first preference in the inventory is called Favorite World, this means where a person focuses their attention ( MBTI Basics n.d.). The two options are E or I, Extraversion or Introversion. Focusing attention on people and things or the outer world, is extraversion. Focusing attention on the ideas and information or one s inner world is introversion (Hammer, 2014). People who prefer extraversion usually put more effort into activities and the people surrounding them. The opposite of that is those who typically put more effort into themselves and prefer introversion ( Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) 2014). If a person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Family Aspect Of The Quilt In a perfect world, the Caribbean is like a quilt that has been stitched together by a mother or grandmother. It eventually comes together to form a unique blanket that incorporates a multi dimensional group of different pieces of colors and sizes in its final product. The maternal aspect of the quilt, represents the Euro colonial influence that was responsible for the colonialization of the Caribbean region. All patches have their own unique shape and design, and eventually come together to make a fragmented image on the quilt. The fragmented image, created by different colors, shapes and patterns, represent the different cultures and races that are all interrelated to each other in the Caribbean. And each individual patch, represents a different island nation, and the thread, cotton and embroidery that weaves the patches together, represents the languages and ideologies that have come together over the course of history, to bond these island nations together. Today, however, the Caribbean countries struggle a great deal with human development. These struggles have arisen as a result of the lack of unity in self identity, with respect to the idea of fragmentation. Mintz describes fragmentation to be a patchwork quilt of societies and cultures, which arose through the colonization and exploitation of the Caribbean region. This exploitation of the regions resources, such as sugar, coffee, gold and other natural resources, by the colonizing country (France, England, Spain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Would you support this government? In the United States, same sex couples face exactly this kind of discrimination. Since the 1920 s the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans) community has been fighting for equality, starting with the Society of Human Rights in Chicago, the earliest known gay rights organization ( American 1). The movement transformed completely from a couple of activists to a widespread protest in the 1969 Stonewall Riots. A gay bar in New York, called the Stonewall Inn, experienced a late night police raid for supposed bootlegging of alcohol. However, after the officers began frisking lesbians and assaulting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the opposition holds that gay marriage disrupts the traditional institution of marriage and creates an environment unfit for children, in actuality it is a civil right that provides economic and social benefits without being harmful to society in any way, shape, or form. Opponents of legalizing gay marriage claim homosexuality is against natural order and view marriage as a sacred pact between a man and a woman. In their eyes, it will ruin the traditional institution of marriage. In 1971, the Supreme Court decided that the institution of marriage as a union [was] of man and woman in the Baker v. Nelson case ( Gay 2). The United States government has defined marriage as such. Allowing homosexuals to marry will redefine the very foundation that Americans thrive on. And whose to say it will end with gays being allowed to wed? The entire process will lead down a slippery slope of allowing polygamous, incestuous, bestial, and other nontraditional relationships being able to marry ( Gay 2). In addition, marriage is for the sake of procreation and children are negatively affected in a queer environment. The statistics speak for themselves. Children raised by gay couples constantly lack either a father or a mother figure and are thus 12% more likely to engage in homosexuality and promiscuity (Roleff 87). The performance that Hepburn projected was successfully believable to the audience because she had the poise and attitude that a princess would normally have. • 12. The Central Banks Of The World The Central Banks of the world have a role in today s society to provide stability to the economy. Through monetary policy, the Central Banks must utilize the daily economic data in order to make policy decisions that attempt to ensure continuous growth and prosperity. The Central Banks do this through regulating inflation as well as implementing specific goals such as currency stability, low inflation and full employment (Heakal). In 2008 the global financial crisis hit numerous nations around the world and each Central Bank saw their economies crash, consumers lose market confidence, investors stop investing, and banks stop lending. If the money stops circulating in the economy banks [can t] provide customers with a variety of basic financial services; [such as] an on demand source of bank notes; deposits and savings accounts; payment services; and ... credit, to both business and households (Fisher 2). The credit crunch was experienced throughout the world and each Central Bank laid out their plans in order to halt and begin recovering from the crisis and set the economy back to a stable 2% inflation. Along with The Federal Reserve, the Bank of England s conventional attempts at restoring the economy never had enough of an impact to jump start the economy. An unconventional crisis called for unconventional resolutions. The Bank of England turned to unconventional monetary policies when all else failed. The world is depending less and less on the individual and wants people to be more like society to fit in and be how the bigger picture sees it, they want people to be seen as the famous people are and rebel or look a certain way. If a normal man tried to get into the Hard Rock concert (like the blonde man s friend) they were denied because their look wasn t right for the concert and wouldn t be acceptable. Another man that Borchard talked to showed a way that society changed. It s called a microwave relationship and that was when the man just opened up and told Borchard his entire life story and he has never met the man before in his life. The man talked about his whole crappy life to Borchard but he didn t care, he wasn t interested but this proved another point of his. In the postmodern world people are becoming more and more open with complete strangers. In result the things in the world weren t lasting people couldn t keep secrets people just rambled on about anything and everything from their own lives even to others, and didn t think twice about it. The new postmodern world was departing from morals and individual expectations to gossip and looks. People now want to know and are willing to tell, people are not individuals but seem to stray towards the actions of those who society now says we should act like. The things in the world are ... • 36. Essay On Hand-Engineered Feature Extraction Techniques 2.1 Introduction In last few years, remote sensing image scene classification has got a remarkable attention due to its importance. Researchers are trying hard to classify remote sensing images correctly. For this reason, we have studied different topics related to this research. Rest of this chapter will describe some important Hand Engineered feature extraction methods along with deep learning technique. In section 2.2, we will discuss some hand engineered feature extraction methods, in section 2.3, we will discuss some deep learning models and finally, in section 2.4 we will draw a conclusion. 2.2 Hand Engineered Feature Extraction Method Feature plays a very important role in the area of image processing. Different feature extraction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... LBP [1] is very simple to understand and easy to implement. To compute LBP at first we need to divide the image into cells like 16X16. Then take a pixel into the grid and consider the neighboring pixels around the pixel. If the center pixel value is greater than or equal to its neighbor, then consider 1 for the neighboring pixel otherwise consider 0. Then take the binary numbers in a sequence (clockwise or anti clockwise). Assume the number is a binary number and compute the decimal number. Then set the value to the middle pixel. Compute histogram for each 16x16 cells and finally concatenate the histograms. The histogram gives the feature vector for entire window. Example of LBP feature extraction is given in the Figure 2.1 Figure 2.1: Finding decimal value for central pixel using LBP LBP has some limitations that reduces its application fields. LBP is not rotation invariant and the size of the features increases exponentially with the number of neighbors which leads to an increase of computational complexity in terms of time and space. 2.2.1 Noise Adaptive Binary Pattern (NABP) Noise adaptive binary pattern [12] is a modification of local binary pattern. Though LPB is one of the most powerful method for feature extraction but it has a lack of discriminative power and sensitive to noise. LBP may produce same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Religious Persecution of Christian Beliefs Religious Persecution of Christian Beliefs What is religious persecution? At the beginning of this project, I thought religious persecution was a black and white topic with a clear definition. I thought that religious persecution was simply the persecution of a group because of their religious faith. However, I discovered that there are no simple explanations of religious persecution, and it is a much more complex and controversial issue than I had imagined. In fact, some events categorized as religious persecution reveal only shades of grey and ambiguities and do not neatly fit this simple definition. I wanted others to come to this same understanding. Therefore, I have formulated my own definition of religious persecution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A majority of Democrats (72%), political independents (53%), and pastors from NCC denominations (66%) agreed with the statement, compared to a minority among Republicans (32%) and pastors from NAE member denominations (29%). Interestingly, a majority of ministers agreed with the statement Persecution of Christians because of their faith is a major problem in the United States. Sixty one percent of all pastors agreed with this statement, although just 16% agreed strongly, while the rest agreed somewhat with the statement. Although Republicans (72%), political independents (60%), and evangelical pastors (70%) were more likely than other groups to claim religious persecution in the United States is a major problem, a significant proportion of Democrats (35%) and pastors from NCCC member denominations (46%) also agreed with the statement. More Christians have died for their faith in the 20th century than in the previous 19 centuries combined. Each year, about 150,000 are martyred, two million are being actively persecuted, and millions more are living with their religious freedoms severely restricted. Religions make claims about the nature of the world, the origin of man, the means of salvation, and so on. The Constitutional freedom of religion gives citizens the right to believe these claims, and freedom of speech gives them the right to make these claims publicly. Freedom of religion is not a prize for governments to award ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Living Conditions ( World Bank ) living conditions (World Bank). The rationale behind the large loan is the boost in temporary employment, the importance of using municipal government agents, and overall implementing structural changes that in turn would transform the state of Gabon in the long run. Other actions that have been taken include implementing social safety nets as a form of addressing the poverty associated with inequality. Programs such as Carte d indigent only focused on short term transfers such as free medicine, food, family allowance, and cash in order to temporarily reduce the number of those under the poverty line (World Bank PRE). Unfortunately, these transfers were solely dependent on government funding and the shrinking social budget made the program practically worthless today. An emphasis can also be placed on the roots of inequality; poor governance with faulty transparency and a regime with various ties to privileged inner circles in France and domestically, leads the World Bank to classify Gabon as a rent based economy (World Bank PRE). The emphasis on rent denotes the importance of how much inequality actually influence the economy in Gabon, especially when those additional profits come from manipulation of the rules and institutions to begin with. It is also important to note that the distinctions between urban and rural poverty have yet to be officially documented through an effective survey or metric. The reality is that a significant majority of Gabon does reside in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Developing A Sustainable Marketing And Human Resource... Description of the Project Proposal The project requirement as I understand is to develop a sustainable marketing and human resource structure for a well established Childcare centre that caters for local families with pre school aged children in the surrounding suburbs and Swinburne University community. This structure must have a low financial budget and also cater for further expansion in the future. The client has indicated that they are actively seeking to advertise and raise the view of Kindergarten with the aim of filling both 3 Year old and 4 year old programs to their capacity. Therefore it is very important that the planned structure can fulfil the requirements of the clients. It is also mentioned that the client is very cautious of a structure that all new individuals can follow even if they don t have the right skills and experience needed to finish the task. This is proposed in the form of the Annual Marketing Plan, which will be conducted by volunteers who constantly keep changing every year. Therefore this designed structure must cater for the client with this particular need. Furthermore, the client has indicated an interest in the professional development of their staff and would like to conduct programs that would help the staff be motivated in the work they perform. Although this is not yet confirmed as a definite trial, the designed structure should be able to achieve this possibility. Marketing Team and Human Resource Proposals This project proposal ...
