Lgb Social Work
From above paragraphs we have learnt that lesbian, gay, bisexual youth face discrimination and
marginalization fostered by the social systems that serve them. As a result a social worker should
analyze prudently the use and misuse of power in the client s life (critical consciousness) and promote
engagement to foster social justice (Wagaman, 2016). As stated by Wagaman (2016), the positive
wellbeing of LGB youth can be ensured through such services in accordance with their empowerment.
In order to achieve that as a social worker, I should ensure the programs and interventions for young
LGB people to address structural inequities as well as I should create awareness and engage them in
efforts to challenge the systemic that cause or reinforce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is understood from the above understandings, that due to violence, stigma and discrimination that
LGB youth face daily, the majority among them face adverse mental health such as depression, suicide
and anxiety. As an ally of LGB youth, I should foster awareness and dialogues by participating in
social activism in order to create safer space for LGB youth to break the social isolation and provide a
safe place to explore their self identity (Vaccaro, August Kennedy, 2012). Meanwhile, I should
consider the social stigma associated with LGB youth and be prepared to counter the backlash from
family members of youth, the heterosexual community and even the supervisors (Lee Brotman, 2015).
Besides, this provided the awareness of human rights of LGB youth in a larger community is more
likely an initiative of individual worker (Lee Brotman, 2015) which requires proper wide angle
knowledge on the issue and the above reflection equipped me well. By fostering collective and
individual empowerment, I as a social worker can enable the vulnerable LGB youth to have control
over the issues that affect them directly (Lee Brotman, 2015). To achieve the same, I realise I should

Negative Effects of Smoking on Human Health and the Economy
Moreover, smoking particularly adversely affects women s reproductive health, and smoke exposure
on children has had detrimental and some sometimes fatal effects on children. Many studies have
examined and outlined the adverse effects of maternal smoking on both the mother as well as on the
baby and/or infant ( Hofhuis, de Jongste, Merkus, 2003 Woolbright 1994). Many states such as
Alabama required documentation on birth certificates of tobacco use of mothers (Woolbright, 1994).
Despite the Surgeon general s warning that maternal smoking may result in premature birth, fetal
injury, or dangerously low birth rate, fifteen to thirty seven percent of pregnant women still smoke

as well as other countries have filed lawsuits against the tobacco industry as a result of increased
healthcare costs induced by smoking tobacco. Many smokers within the United States depend on
financial assistance from state governments through Medicaid, a healthcare system that assists low
income families. Eventually, the tobacco industry settled the various state lawsuits in Mississippi,
Minnesota, Florida and Texas and agreed to pay thirty six billion dollars within a twenty five year
period (Bloch, Daynard, Roemer, 1998). The medical literature Warner, Hodgson, and Carroll (1999)
examined regarding the medical costs of smoking related ailments reveal that approximately eight
percent of a person s personal medical care costs is used to treat illnesses, diseases and deadly
conditions attributed to smoking, mainly lung cancer, COPD, and heart disease. These numbers,
however, do not reflect the costs of other less severe ailments that result from exposing to smoking
tobacco. Nonetheless, they reveal that medical costs represent one strain of the financial burden
smoking puts on people not only in the United States but worldwide. Despite the abundance of
literature that supports the notion that smoking burdens

Data And Data Analysis Paper
The world is converging toward a critical point in history where the question has to be asked, will
there be enough resources to go around? Populations around the globe are growing and moving out of
poverty towards the consumption based lifestyles of western countries. This means more is needed,
more oil, more water, and more food. These resources are finite, limited, and often wasted. Through
the use of technology and data, these resources can be better utilized. Data and data analysis will allow
these systems to be optimized to produce more and waste less. The goal of this project is to use data
and apply it to the field of plant growth and agriculture. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a data driven
technology that seeks to integrate and connect everyday devices and sensors. This data infrastructure
can be used for a variety of applications such as home automation, industrial manufacturing,
healthcare, and smart agriculture. Although each application is derived from a significantly different
field, the underlying communication protocols are very similar and must adhere to similar constraints.
The constraints of low power devices, lossy links, noisy environments, and embedded
microcontrollers with limited memory and processing power. These protocols are the basis of the IoT
protocol stack. They create the framework that determines how data is transferred within an IoT
network [3][4]. The focus of active IoT research is shifting towards data, how data is sent, how

Does the media use subliminal advertising as a tool for...
Media these days, whether print or electronic, is being used by the general population as a tool to stay
informed. Whether someone wants to get up to date with the latest events around the world or just
wants to find out if their favorite team has won, media is the way to go. We trust the media to keep the
whole world updated and connected. But, is the media exploiting our blind trust by subconsciously
manipulating us through subliminal advertising? Firstly, what is subliminal advertising? It is a
technique in which the consumer is exposed to product or brand advertising such as pictures or songs
related to the product without the consumer being consciously aware of it. This may include ads
during the airing of different sports matches or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This experiment was conducted by James M. Vicary, who was a psychologist and marketing
researcher. In the experiment, the words drink Coca Cola and eat popcorn were projected on the
screen for 1/3,000 of a second during the screening of movies. After the experiment, there were
numerous reports in the news regarding the results which stated that there was an increase in the sales
of popcorn and Coke after the experiment began. Although these results were not given much
credibility due to the absence of a control group, the exposure of this experiment made people realise
that they were being targeted subconsciously.
A big component of subliminal advertising is repetitive advertising. This method has been used a lot in
the past and is still being used today. Examples of this can be found all around us. If you turn on the
television these days. you will see commercials for a specific product multiple times during a short
period of time. This strategy is applied in order to reinforce the image of that product in the consumer
s mind. If a person sees a commercial a few times, then he or she may or may not buy the product.
Their behaviour will depend totally on the fact that did they like what they saw in the commercial or
not. But if they are shown the commercial again and again, then they become curious about the
product and this is enough to initiate a trial purchase. A.S.C. Ehrenberg, a professor of

The Impact Of Financial Development On Society s...
Cagetti and Nardi (2006) argue that financial development is beneficial to the individuals who have
higher ability to make investment and then become the entrepreneurs. In contrast, the individuals who
are relatively more common could not make human investment and then become the workers.
Therefore, the whole society s inequality gap will be widen. Maurer and Haber (2003) suggest that in
the process of financial liberalization and financial deepening, the financing channels for low income
people are not have effectively developed, and the difficulties for financing are not have substantial
progress. On the contrary, the rich have more capital and convenience to get access into the financial
activities and services and get more money. Empirical researches have been conducted to test these
alternative theories. Li , Squire and Zou (1998) adopt 2480 observations on Gini coefficients covering
112 developing and developed countries for the time period from 1947 to 1994. The results broadly
confirm the two propositions. The first proposition is income inequality is relatively stable within
countries. Income inequality is varies significantly across countries is the second proposition. They
suggest that the financial development mitigate the most low income families liquidity constraint and
improve their ability of get higher income. According to their empirical analysis, the financial
development has a negative impact on the income inequality which measured by the Gini

Philosopher s Grapes Of Wrath
When Allan was chosen to become the apprentice to Rubin it wasn t because he possessed healing or
magical abilities, but because of the love and gratitude he had for the sorcerer when he healed Allan s
father from an accident that occurred during freedom day. When Allan is granted permission from his
father, he moves into the sorcerer s home anticipating lessons and spell bound teachings that will
eventually give him the title of sorcerer. Unfortunately, upon his arrival Rubin instructs Allan to
perform housework and cultivates his blacksmith skills. As time progresses Allan complains bitterly

Rubin says, God took holt of you back there I don t see how you can do that again. (133) In that
moment as Allan was praised by the sorcerer he agreed with him believing he would never experience
magic like that again and commences to panic. Allan became doubtful in the ability and as time
progress within the passage Allan continued to carry his self inflicted uncertainty with him. Allan s
uncertainties were confirmed when he couldn t provide his service to Lizzie by getting her child to eat
the potion he made. Instead of accepting the magic that once graced him was departed and moving on
with his life as a blacksmith, the desire to do what he loved turned what was once good evil. to love
the good, the beautiful is right, but to labor on and will the work when you are obviously beneath this

make it a monstrosity. It becomes black magic. (141) Allan did not adhere to the sorcerer s warning
when he expressed to Allan that what he was teaching Allan had no certainty. Allan fascination with
magic and desire to claim it as his own possession caused him to allow his desires to supersede the
knowledge he attained from the sorcerer leaving him with the ultimate decision of good and

Professional Sports Teams Move Essay
Professional Sports Teams Move Cities Fight To Keep Them nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp;Professional sports, like most of our popular culture, can be understood only partly by through its
exiting plays and tremendous athletes. Baseball and football most of all are not only games anymore
but also hardcore businesses. As businesses, sports leagues can be as conniving, deceitful, and
manipulative as any other businesses in the world. No matter what the circumstances are, it seems that
Politicians are always some how right around the corner from the world of sports. These Politicians
look to exploit both the cultural and the economic dimensions of the sports for their own purposes.
This is what is known in the sports industry as playing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of political confrontations enables teams to control debate, leaving city officials playing
defense. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Possibly those who are most effected by the sport s industry s
willingness to abandon a community are the dedicated fans. When Al Davis moved the Oakland
Raiders to Los Angeles, he pulled away from some of sport s most loyal fans and also hurt his football
team. The NFL s Colts and Cardinals have also had failures on the field since their moves. These three
teams are proof that all the greed that was put into the moving of their franchises hasn t brought them
more success or in some cases less success. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;In every move there are two
sides to the politics. There are the teams themselves and there are the cities that fight to keep them. In
May 1991, Sharon Pratt Dixon, Mayor of Washington, D.C. said, We re going to do whatever it takes
to keep the Redskins here. Sports has become an industry, and to the extent that we can guarantee jobs
for the District residents, we will do whatever it takes, including building the stadium ourselves
(Euchner 1), this is one view of how a city official fights for a team. The other viewpoint is from the
side of the team owner, Al Davis, managing general partner of the Raiders said, just build it (Euchner

The Importance Of Our Thoughts
Our thoughts also are too numerous to count sometimes. Have you ever had an opportunity or a time
when you may have been sitting idle and your mind just started racing from one thing to the next?
Nothing was conclusive. You just kept going from one thing to the next. You were being bombarded
with all of these different thoughts and you could not concentrate on anything. Understand this; the
only thing that the enemy is trying to do to you and I is to bring you to a place of confusion. He wants
you to be confused. He wants you to be so confused that you can t discern whether it s you are talking,
the devil talking, or God talking. That s how confused he wants you to be. He wants you to get to a

Now wait a minute. What happened? Yesterday when I came down here, y all were drinking mint

we were recruiting! So, what I m trying to show you, men, is that the enemy is trying to make us think
that his way is better. You know what I m saying? He wants you to think his way will give us some
great advantage or benefit or profit. But I guarantee you that his way is the way of destruction. His
way is the way of death. And it s an eternal death. Because the thing is that you will end up living in
Hell right here on Earth, and then dying and going to Hell. Are you still with me? Let me give you an
example. Your thoughts don t introduce themselves by saying where they originated. Thoughts just

stuff jumps up in your head? And you think where did that come from? Right? I shouldn t be thinking

Therefore strategy should match to resources, altering environment and in specific markets and

strategies for cost reduction, quality enhancement, new investments and development of

The Epic Of Gilgamesh By Andrew George And Monkey Essay
Usually if a woman were to present herself to be a powerful being, she s unpleasant, distasteful, or
even exasperating. Women who express their sexual sides are viewed as loose, disrespectful to
themselves, or despicable. People often forget that women can be powerful and sexual beings. Women
in society, nowadays and even three thousand years ago have always dealt with these problems simply
because they are not male. A woman could show complete class, intelligence, and ambition and
portray herself to be a powerful or even sexual being and she would still be given a hard time. The
Epic of Gilgamesh translated by Andrew George and Monkey translated by Arthur Waley have
fantastic examples of women being looked up to for being immortal, powerful, and sexless while other
women are looked down upon for having any association with sexual activity regardless of power or
being mortal. My ultimate judgment about the view of women in the societies of both of these books
is, even though there are very few women that are respected, it is explicit that women who hold
qualities of sexual desire are looked down upon more than women who hold qualities of power. Both
texts are harsh when it comes to depicting a female character. Shamhat the harlot and Ishtar the
goddess of love are both main female characters in The Epic of Gilgamesh, both representing
temptresses. Blue Orchid is a female character from the novel Monkey and she is represented as a
powerless woman. Shamhat the harlot is

Reader, Readability, and Relativity in the Criticism of Propp, Barthes, and Fish
What exactly constitutes a text? What classifies a text as having canonical quality, what meaning can
be derived from that text, and who exactly makes these types of decisions? Welcome to the world of
literary criticism, where the approach to the text and the level of reader inclusion varies based upon
the school a critic identifies with in his endeavor and/or the individual reader may happen to take most
interest in the act of literary analysis. While the Socratic like formalistic approach of Vladimir Propp,

However, others contend that no common genetic root exists. Propp argues We find such an approach
acceptable only if based upon the idea of spontaneous generation of species. He adds that adherents to
this method do not compare plots; they feel such comparison to be impossible or, at the very least,
erroneous, proposing instead that the similarity of fairy tales can be compared from the standpoint of
their comparison or structure (785).
While the readability of colleagues like T.S. Eliot is often difficult due to the use snobbish art for art s
sake diction, syntax, and aim of audience, Propp doesn t isn t quite as arrogant in his style. Propp not
only makes direct reference to the critic/reader in his opening paragraphs, he also envelopes the
audience with his more personable tone and phrasing. We observe... he states as he leads into an
analysis of the role of actors in folklore, which he claims, performs essentially the same actions as the
tale progresses, no matter how different from one another another in shape, size, sex, and occupation,
in nomenclature and other static attributes. Despite some more difficult word choices here, such as
nomenclature and static attributes, he maintains fluid readability as he guides the reader much like a
teacher. Throughout the piece Propp is more reader inclusive than are some of his peers, so long as the
reader has or is willing to obtain the same reasonable level of educated thought

Economic Inequality In Business
Inequality in businesses has been a rising problem that has affected our nations society for decades.
Economic inequalities are often referred to as an individuals certain position connected to the persons
income, and wealth. Inequality is how individuals are treated differently and in the business sense this
means by obtaining a job, different income scale and even overall economic level itself. So many
years have passed since slavery, woman rights, and stock market crashes that one might think times
and equality have been squashed. Yet, times have not changed and the problem is still monstrous.
Racial inequality is a continuous problem that has plagued businesses since slavery. Gender inequality
has been ongoing due to societies views on woman roles. Social class differences of high class reaping
all the benefits has always existed since even the 1920s. But the ethnic background, or the gender of
an individual can also relate to the economic inequalities and position held within a company. We have
this inequality threatening different races, genders, and social classes of the business industries.
Inequality in business should be greatly taken into account due to the jeopardization of race, gender,
and social class. Business inequality is threatening the increase of race controversies around the world.
As Al Sharpton often says, we have come a long way from the days of slavery, but in 2014,
discrimination and inequality still saturate our society in modern ways. Its existence is undeniable
(Sharpton 1). Sharpton is an American civil rights activist who attended Brooklyn College. If we look
at just the business spectrum, we see that inequality exists between race; in particular among the
blacks and whites. This is apparent in businesses across the world the discrepancy between the top
business executive of blacks and whites is staggering and so is the disparity between yearly wages and
promotions. According to the 2013 survey of Consumer Finances, business ownership is associated
with a $252,100 increase in wealth for whites, but a $84,523 increase in wealth for African Americans
(Herring 4). Cedric Herring is a professor of sociology at the university of Maryland. He has been a

Essay on Children + Violence + Television = Bad
On September 11th, 2001, millions around the world crowded around televisions across the globe and
watched the horrific scenes of terrorism that had struck New York City, Washington, D.C and
Pennsylvania on that ill fated and now infamous morning. Suddenly, in a crowded room everyone felt
alone. As the Twin Towers vanished before our very eyes, so did our sense of security and protection.
We watched with shock and horror, disbelief and grief as the images were repeatedly flashed before
our eyes. There was no escape. Every television channel and every radio station constantly reminded
us of the tragedy that we will never forget. Even today, over three years later, I can see the images and
remember the desperate pleas for help of people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s simply too depressing. Today s news stories are explicit enough to make adults cringe, leaving
children staggering. Images of injured, suffering, and the deceased often fill our television sets with
reality violence. The news, however, is not the only type of media violence affecting children.
Even family oriented cartoons such as the Looney Tunes starring household names such as Bugs
Bunny, Wildie Coyote, and the Road Runner portray a lot of violence. Unfortunately, these types of
violence are often rewarded with a laugh. While it may be comedic to adults, children are witnessing
acts of violence that happen without punishment. Many of these acts of violence would leave a person
greatly injured or dead, but in the cartoons the character on the screen is unaffected and ready to try
again in the next scene or segment. This clearly is not reality. Children do not have the ability and
understanding to grasp fictional television and reality.
Even as children grow out of cartoons, they are still entertained by violence. I grew up watching the
World Wrestling Federation (WWF) with my older brother and my step father, two people I looked up
to. I remember countless days of wrestling with my friends throughout my childhood in result of
watching the WWF. I did not understand how watching fake wrestling on television altered my reality
until I grew up and now watch some of cousin s children or neighborhood children wrestle and they
expect no one to get hurt, which is rarely

Fluoridation Of Drinking Water Essay
Chemistry and Health: Fluoridation of Drinking Water Chemistry is a significant aspect in our lives;
everything around us is made up of matter and the different forms of matter are what make it possible
for us to breathe and survive (Nivaldo, 2018, p. 67). Scientists study chemistry based on how it occurs
in our everyday lives, health, and in the environment that we live in. Furthermore, chemistry plays a
huge role in health in a sense of what is good and bad for the body, or why the body is reacting to a
certain substance in the way that it is. Teeth are a vital part of the human body; they help us chew our
food so that we are able to swallow, not to mention that they are the first thing that a person looks at

brushes their teeth daily, but it can also depend on the things a person is eating or drinking as well. In
this paper, I will discuss the ways that fluoridation of drinking water affects our health in ways such as
theories, developments, and the role that it plays in society.

Out of the three hard paragraphs I gave him, he only understood one of them. For example, Richard
read a paragraph that was about making sodium acetate (hot ice). Reading through this paragraph, he
was very confused on what the paragraph meant because he had no prior background knowledge of
chemistry. Because of words such as Pyrex and acetic acid, he could not figure out the subject of the
text. Retrospectively, the difficulty of the words did affect his ability to use background knowledge,
which is something that I learned after giving him this experiment. Nonetheless, in the end, he was not
able to correctly tell me what the paragraph was about, and he guessed that it was about making frozen
yogurt. The other paragraph that he got wrong was one that talked about coding a program. Richard
never coded a program in his life, so he did not understand what the paragraph was describing. He
confused the word language as the method of human communication rather than a programming
language, so as a result, he thought the paragraph was about learning a new language. Lastly, the one
paragraph he got correct in the hard part of test 1 was the paragraph about brain surgery. Even though
this topic is something Richard personally does not have experience, it is something that he has seen
in cartoons or videos. Therefore, as he read this paragraph, he used terms such as incision in the scalp
and aneurysm to conclude that it was indeed about brain surgery. From the results of test 1 and test 2, I
concluded that having background knowledge is essential in understanding text. Because Richard had
background knowledge on the subjects in the easy part, he was easily able to identify them, and in the
hard part, he struggled a

Mainstrea Mainstream Media Analysis
Both professional and citizen journalist are vitally important to keeping the public apprised as to
significant happening across the globe. The advantage the citizen journalist has to report
instantaneously is invaluable. However, there simply are not enough professional journalist available
to be everywhere, at all times. The ability to inform the public, anytime, anyplace, is priceless. The
blogger skips the arduous process of the editor, the producer and the scheduled time slot on the local
television channel. Professional journalist are limited by neutrality. They report on the opinions of
others or current events, whereas the citizen journalist may steer the events or opinions. Both are
motivated by the opportunity to expose the truth, however where the professional often searches for
the truth, the truth simply finds the citizen journalist. The independent citizen journalist, like the
professional, risk being incarcerated or worse, by exposing the truth. A price both are willing to pay.

Los Angeles Case Study
Ever since the Rams left Los Angeles in 1994, football fans have been wondering what would happen
next. For the last 20 years, teams have been using the threat of moving to Los Angeles to extract more
money and support from their current cities. Many teams have also seriously considered relocating to
the second largest market in the United States. The city of Los Angeles would not use taxpayer funds
to help build a stadium, which along with issues about the location of a team caused many to remain
in their current city. Stan Kroenke, owner of the LA Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche,
Arsenal Football Club, and multiple other teams, decided to take the chance and move the Rams to
Inglewood, California, a city in Los Angeles County. As Stan Kroenke will have to privately finance
their new stadium, along with paying a relocation fee, many wonder if the move is worth the cost
seeing as how much of his own money he will be putting into the team. One of the big questions that
would help us understand whether the move is or is not beneficial is how will the Rams move from St.
Louis to Los Angeles affect the franchise s net worth?

If either team relocates and joins the Rams they would have to share the burden of paying for the
stadium or pay a large sum for renting out the stadium. Another possibility is the Chargers or Raiders
moving to another market, such as St. Louis. While many football fans in the St. Louis area would
approve of another team coming in to replace the team that many see as having betrayed them, the
$400 million of the taxpayer s money that was going to the Rams could end up back into another plan
for a stadium. It is $400 million dollars that I believe does not need to be put into another stadium
when taxpayers are still paying for the Edward Jones

The Digestive System Of Digestion Essay
Digestion is the breaking apart of foods into smaller and smaller units and absorbtion is the
movements of those small units from the gut into the bloodstream or lymphatic system for circulation.
(1) The digestive system is what keeps you going from day to day because without the digestive
system you wouldn t be able to consume anything. You also wouldn t be able to absorb the necessary
nutrients you need for your body to keep functioning correctly. The organs that play a role in the
digestive system is the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, appendix, rectum,
liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and the anal canal. The mouth is where it all starts. Before you even take a
bite of your food, the smell of the food is what triggers your salivary glands which include the parotid,
sublingual, and submandibular glands in your mouth making it start to water. Your saliva increases
when you taste the food. When you chew the food into smaller pieces the enzyme amylase breaks food
into small sugar molecules. To start fat digestion another enzyme is released at the base of the tongue
called lingual lipase. A bolus is easy to swallow and is formed when saliva and other fluids in the
mouth mixed with mucous. Bolus slides past the epiglottis and then goes through the esophagus and to
the stomach where it is then digested. The esophagus is a muscular tube connecting the pharynx to the
stomach that is part of the upper gastrointestinal tract. (4) This organ carries the

The National Cemetery Administration ( Nca )
Throughout history, many monumental events led to the development of the National Cemetery
Administration (NCA). Ricketts (2014) notes that the mission of the NCA is to provide Veterans with
an honorary burial space in national cemeteries. They place a heavy significance on paying tribute to
the Veteran s services and sacrifices. In order to better understand the efforts carried out by the NCA,
it is beneficial to review its history and development. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran
Affairs ( History and development of the national cemetery administration , 2015), the origin of
National cemeteries began during the Civil War. Prior to the establishment of such places, fallen
soldiers were often buried on battlefields, nearby campsites, or taken to the families chosen cemetery.
However as the war progressed, the chaos and limited land titles led to quick and inadequate burials.
Neither the Union nor the Confederacy were equipped with the awareness and resources to properly
bury their soldiers . In 1861, Congress provided the Union with benefits by appointing the Army s
Quartermaster General as a conductor of burial responsibilities. This order worked to ensure that there
would be a record of all burials. It also stated that a grave should be marked with the placement of a
wooden headboard. Although these painted headboards resembled a memorial of the fallen soldier,
they quickly succumbed to environmental elements ( History and development of the

Don t judge a book by it s cover. A statement that reigns true no matter what book we are looking at.
The characters, Boo Radley, from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and Saul Indian
Horse, from the novel Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese, have very little in common, yet their
personalities are both used by the authors to convey a common theme. With little in common, Saul is
passionate and youthful where Boo is isolated and aged; still, both are of them are unfairly judged, and

Wave Patterns
The Effect Mixing Has on the Wave Patterns of a Song

Abstract The purpose of the experiment was to find the objective difference between an original song
and an acoustic or a remix version of the same song. The expectation was that the difference lies in the
amount of contrast between the highest and lowest amplitude. Sound waves are created when an
object vibrates back and forth and they have amplitudes, wavelengths, and frequencies. Sixty songs
were analyzed in Audacity, a music program. Using the output, their amplitudes were measured and
compared with other versions having clean audio and the same artist. Most of the data supported the

The outliers to this was Lips Are Moving, Viva la Vida, Take me to Church, and Ice Ice Baby. A
possible reason for this is differences between recording circumstances. All artists have different
equipment and that impacts the sound quality. Unfortunately, this is a variable that couldn t have been
manipulated due to lack of resources and remains an issue in the experimental design. The recording
of Lips Are Moving especially had unusably low Greatest Amplitude readings: 0.20, 0.17, and 0.18
cm. This is probably a flawed recording, not a program error, because all three trials were outliers and
the rest of the songs had different results. Ideally, in future experiments, all the artists should be

Temptation, Blame, Forgiveness, And An Apple Essay
Katherine Springer
Mrs. Lang
Honors Humanities 5th Hour
10 November 2016
Temptation, Blame, Forgiveness, and an Apple
Genesis the book of the beginning of man, according to some religions. In this book, the age old story
of Adam and Eve is recorded. The book tells of the first two humans on earth performing the original
sin by eating an apple from the Tree of Knowledge in the sacred Garden of Eden. While this story may
seem clear cut, humans always have different perspectives on the messages to take away from stories.
Sometimes, these differing views are expressed in the form of art. The paintings Adam and Eve by
Michelangelo and Adam and Eve by Cranach both portray the biblical story of the first humans
betrayal of God. As shown by the composition of the paintings, as well as the actions of the figures,
Cranach s couple seem to be unintentionally sinning, while Michelangelo s Adam and Eve appear to
be purposeful in their actions. Cranach s placement of the figures draws the observer s eye to the apple
instead of the serpent, implying that there are subtle manipulations taking place. On the other hand,
Michelangelo s painting takes the viewer s eye to Eve directly taking the apple from a much larger
serpent s hand, implying a much more direct intervention from Satan. Both paintings show how easily
humans are influenced by temptation; this idea is a common theme across history, and it will be a
theme as long as humanity continues to exist.
One way both Cranach and

Comparison Of The Sabines, Titian s Rape Of Europa
Poussin s Rape of the Sabines, Titian s Rape of Europa, or other paintings depict an assailant,
commonly a Greek or Roman god or hero, raping a female in a beautiful and heroic love manner. This
type of image also viewed as a heroic rape, has always received considerable attention. Initially from
Greek mythology, the story of Castor and Pollux is an anecdote of the great twin brethren interested in
two beautiful daughters, Phoebe and Hilaeira, as their wives. Disregarding the fact that these girls
were betrothed to their cousins Lynceus and Idas, they carried the girls off to Sparta. Abduction,
sexual violation, and defilement caused the fatal quarrel between the brothers and the brother s
cousins. Visually stunning, Rubens depicts this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rubens s painting shows to be an example of arrogant, masculine dominance over weak, feminine
submission. However, there is eroticism in the lighting and brush strokes, which in contrast to the
context of the story, the central female figures appear to have some level of sexual energy and tension
with the male figures. Ruben renders the soft face maidens in such a manner that they do not
energetically resist the male figures. Although these characteristics correspond with the mythological
scene that is taking place, this new interpretation also seems to have more psychoanalytical
significance as well. Sigmund Freud expressed and refined the concepts of the unconscious, infantile
sexuality, repression, and proposed a theory of the human brain s structure, all part of understanding

King Louis XIV And The Decline Of Ballet In Western Europe
Classical ballet has been a major part of society especially in France and Italy before it spread to other
parts of the world such as Russia and it developed from the court dances which date back to as far
back as the 16th century. This essay will discuss and focus on the way in which dance contributed to

in the art of ballet and lastly it will discuss the decline of ballet in Western Europe and the reason as to
why this decline had taken place.

Louis chose only the best to be a part of the ballets at the time. In 1661, he established the Academie

The Effect Of Cologne On The Body
The Effects of Cologne Can the way a man smells actually affect his life? Can buying expensive
cologne give him more confidence or make him irresistible? Cologne advertisers would certainly seem
to think so. In truth, scents can affect an individual in different ways. Certain scents can have
particular effects on the body, and they can actually alter the way a person behaves or perceives
himself. Scents that work positively with a man s body chemistry can actually change the way he acts
or thinks. However, when cologne ads promise men that they will be handsome, successful, powerful,
and talented because of the scents they wear, the industry begins to sell them fantasy rather than
reality. Advertisements for cologne are very unique. Cologne ads usually portray a message that says

  • 2. Lgb Social Work From above paragraphs we have learnt that lesbian, gay, bisexual youth face discrimination and marginalization fostered by the social systems that serve them. As a result a social worker should analyze prudently the use and misuse of power in the client s life (critical consciousness) and promote engagement to foster social justice (Wagaman, 2016). As stated by Wagaman (2016), the positive wellbeing of LGB youth can be ensured through such services in accordance with their empowerment. In order to achieve that as a social worker, I should ensure the programs and interventions for young LGB people to address structural inequities as well as I should create awareness and engage them in efforts to challenge the systemic that cause or reinforce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is understood from the above understandings, that due to violence, stigma and discrimination that LGB youth face daily, the majority among them face adverse mental health such as depression, suicide and anxiety. As an ally of LGB youth, I should foster awareness and dialogues by participating in social activism in order to create safer space for LGB youth to break the social isolation and provide a safe place to explore their self identity (Vaccaro, August Kennedy, 2012). Meanwhile, I should consider the social stigma associated with LGB youth and be prepared to counter the backlash from family members of youth, the heterosexual community and even the supervisors (Lee Brotman, 2015). Besides, this provided the awareness of human rights of LGB youth in a larger community is more likely an initiative of individual worker (Lee Brotman, 2015) which requires proper wide angle knowledge on the issue and the above reflection equipped me well. By fostering collective and individual empowerment, I as a social worker can enable the vulnerable LGB youth to have control over the issues that affect them directly (Lee Brotman, 2015). To achieve the same, I realise I should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Negative Effects of Smoking on Human Health and the Economy Moreover, smoking particularly adversely affects women s reproductive health, and smoke exposure on children has had detrimental and some sometimes fatal effects on children. Many studies have examined and outlined the adverse effects of maternal smoking on both the mother as well as on the baby and/or infant ( Hofhuis, de Jongste, Merkus, 2003 Woolbright 1994). Many states such as Alabama required documentation on birth certificates of tobacco use of mothers (Woolbright, 1994). Despite the Surgeon general s warning that maternal smoking may result in premature birth, fetal injury, or dangerously low birth rate, fifteen to thirty seven percent of pregnant women still smoke (Hofhuis, de Jongste, Merkus, 2003). Mothers who smoke ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 290). According to Warner, Hodgson and Carroll (1999), many health insurers and state governments as well as other countries have filed lawsuits against the tobacco industry as a result of increased healthcare costs induced by smoking tobacco. Many smokers within the United States depend on financial assistance from state governments through Medicaid, a healthcare system that assists low income families. Eventually, the tobacco industry settled the various state lawsuits in Mississippi, Minnesota, Florida and Texas and agreed to pay thirty six billion dollars within a twenty five year period (Bloch, Daynard, Roemer, 1998). The medical literature Warner, Hodgson, and Carroll (1999) examined regarding the medical costs of smoking related ailments reveal that approximately eight percent of a person s personal medical care costs is used to treat illnesses, diseases and deadly conditions attributed to smoking, mainly lung cancer, COPD, and heart disease. These numbers, however, do not reflect the costs of other less severe ailments that result from exposing to smoking tobacco. Nonetheless, they reveal that medical costs represent one strain of the financial burden smoking puts on people not only in the United States but worldwide. Despite the abundance of literature that supports the notion that smoking burdens ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Data And Data Analysis Paper The world is converging toward a critical point in history where the question has to be asked, will there be enough resources to go around? Populations around the globe are growing and moving out of poverty towards the consumption based lifestyles of western countries. This means more is needed, more oil, more water, and more food. These resources are finite, limited, and often wasted. Through the use of technology and data, these resources can be better utilized. Data and data analysis will allow these systems to be optimized to produce more and waste less. The goal of this project is to use data and apply it to the field of plant growth and agriculture. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a data driven technology that seeks to integrate and connect everyday devices and sensors. This data infrastructure can be used for a variety of applications such as home automation, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and smart agriculture. Although each application is derived from a significantly different field, the underlying communication protocols are very similar and must adhere to similar constraints. The constraints of low power devices, lossy links, noisy environments, and embedded microcontrollers with limited memory and processing power. These protocols are the basis of the IoT protocol stack. They create the framework that determines how data is transferred within an IoT network [3][4]. The focus of active IoT research is shifting towards data, how data is sent, how ... • 5. Does the media use subliminal advertising as a tool for... Media these days, whether print or electronic, is being used by the general population as a tool to stay informed. Whether someone wants to get up to date with the latest events around the world or just wants to find out if their favorite team has won, media is the way to go. We trust the media to keep the whole world updated and connected. But, is the media exploiting our blind trust by subconsciously manipulating us through subliminal advertising? Firstly, what is subliminal advertising? It is a technique in which the consumer is exposed to product or brand advertising such as pictures or songs related to the product without the consumer being consciously aware of it. This may include ads during the airing of different sports matches or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This experiment was conducted by James M. Vicary, who was a psychologist and marketing researcher. In the experiment, the words drink Coca Cola and eat popcorn were projected on the screen for 1/3,000 of a second during the screening of movies. After the experiment, there were numerous reports in the news regarding the results which stated that there was an increase in the sales of popcorn and Coke after the experiment began. Although these results were not given much credibility due to the absence of a control group, the exposure of this experiment made people realise that they were being targeted subconsciously. A big component of subliminal advertising is repetitive advertising. This method has been used a lot in the past and is still being used today. Examples of this can be found all around us. If you turn on the television these days. you will see commercials for a specific product multiple times during a short period of time. This strategy is applied in order to reinforce the image of that product in the consumer s mind. If a person sees a commercial a few times, then he or she may or may not buy the product. Their behaviour will depend totally on the fact that did they like what they saw in the commercial or not. But if they are shown the commercial again and again, then they become curious about the product and this is enough to initiate a trial purchase. A.S.C. Ehrenberg, a professor of ... Cagetti and Nardi (2006) argue that financial development is beneficial to the individuals who have higher ability to make investment and then become the entrepreneurs. In contrast, the individuals who are relatively more common could not make human investment and then become the workers. Therefore, the whole society s inequality gap will be widen. Maurer and Haber (2003) suggest that in the process of financial liberalization and financial deepening, the financing channels for low income people are not have effectively developed, and the difficulties for financing are not have substantial progress. On the contrary, the rich have more capital and convenience to get access into the financial activities and services and get more money. Empirical researches have been conducted to test these alternative theories. Li , Squire and Zou (1998) adopt 2480 observations on Gini coefficients covering 112 developing and developed countries for the time period from 1947 to 1994. The results broadly confirm the two propositions. The first proposition is income inequality is relatively stable within countries. Have you ever had an opportunity or a time when you may have been sitting idle and your mind just started racing from one thing to the next? Nothing was conclusive. You just kept going from one thing to the next. You were being bombarded with all of these different thoughts and you could not concentrate on anything. Understand this; the only thing that the enemy is trying to do to you and I is to bring you to a place of confusion. He wants you to be confused. People are screaming and hollering as the intense heat scorches them. The man says, Now wait a minute. What happened? Yesterday when I came down here, y all were drinking mint juleps and playing golf and all that kind of stuff! Then the devil walks up to him and says, Yesterday we were recruiting! So, what I m trying to show you, men, is that the enemy is trying to make us think that his way is better. You know what I m saying? He wants you to think his way will give us some great advantage or benefit or profit. But I guarantee you that his way is the way of destruction. His way is the way of death. And it s an eternal death. Because the thing is that you will end up living in Hell right here on Earth, and then dying and going to Hell. Are you still with me? Let me give you an example. • 13. The Epic Of Gilgamesh By Andrew George And Monkey Essay Usually if a woman were to present herself to be a powerful being, she s unpleasant, distasteful, or even exasperating. Women who express their sexual sides are viewed as loose, disrespectful to themselves, or despicable. People often forget that women can be powerful and sexual beings. Women in society, nowadays and even three thousand years ago have always dealt with these problems simply because they are not male. A woman could show complete class, intelligence, and ambition and portray herself to be a powerful or even sexual being and she would still be given a hard time. The Epic of Gilgamesh translated by Andrew George and Monkey translated by Arthur Waley have fantastic examples of women being looked up to for being immortal, powerful, and sexless while other women are looked down upon for having any association with sexual activity regardless of power or being mortal. My ultimate judgment about the view of women in the societies of both of these books is, even though there are very few women that are respected, it is explicit that women who hold qualities of sexual desire are looked down upon more than women who hold qualities of power. Both texts are harsh when it comes to depicting a female character. Shamhat the harlot and Ishtar the goddess of love are both main female characters in The Epic of Gilgamesh, both representing temptresses. Blue Orchid is a female character from the novel Monkey and she is represented as a powerless woman. Shamhat the harlot is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While the readability of colleagues like T.S. • 15. Economic Inequality In Business Inequality in businesses has been a rising problem that has affected our nations society for decades. Economic inequalities are often referred to as an individuals certain position connected to the persons income, and wealth. Inequality is how individuals are treated differently and in the business sense this means by obtaining a job, different income scale and even overall economic level itself. So many years have passed since slavery, woman rights, and stock market crashes that one might think times and equality have been squashed. Yet, times have not changed and the problem is still monstrous. Racial inequality is a continuous problem that has plagued businesses since slavery. Gender inequality has been ongoing due to societies views on woman roles. Social class differences of high class reaping all the benefits has always existed since even the 1920s. But the ethnic background, or the gender of an individual can also relate to the economic inequalities and position held within a company. We have this inequality threatening different races, genders, and social classes of the business industries. Inequality in business should be greatly taken into account due to the jeopardization of race, gender, and social class. Business inequality is threatening the increase of race controversies around the world. As Al Sharpton often says, we have come a long way from the days of slavery, but in 2014, discrimination and inequality still saturate our society in modern ways. Its existence is undeniable (Sharpton 1). Sharpton is an American civil rights activist who attended Brooklyn College. If we look at just the business spectrum, we see that inequality exists between race; in particular among the blacks and whites. This is apparent in businesses across the world the discrepancy between the top business executive of blacks and whites is staggering and so is the disparity between yearly wages and promotions. According to the 2013 survey of Consumer Finances, business ownership is associated with a $252,100 increase in wealth for whites, but a $84,523 increase in wealth for African Americans (Herring 4). Suddenly, in a crowded room everyone felt alone. As the Twin Towers vanished before our very eyes, so did our sense of security and protection. We watched with shock and horror, disbelief and grief as the images were repeatedly flashed before our eyes. There was no escape. Today s news stories are explicit enough to make adults cringe, leaving children staggering. Images of injured, suffering, and the deceased often fill our television sets with reality violence. The news, however, is not the only type of media violence affecting children. Even family oriented cartoons such as the Looney Tunes starring household names such as Bugs Bunny, Wildie Coyote, and the Road Runner portray a lot of violence. Unfortunately, these types of violence are often rewarded with a laugh. While it may be comedic to adults, children are witnessing acts of violence that happen without punishment. Many of these acts of violence would leave a person greatly injured or dead, but in the cartoons the character on the screen is unaffected and ready to try again in the next scene or segment. This clearly is not reality. Children do not have the ability and understanding to grasp fictional television and reality. Even as children grow out of cartoons, they are still entertained by violence. Fluoridation Of Drinking Water Essay Chemistry and Health: Fluoridation of Drinking Water Chemistry is a significant aspect in our lives; everything around us is made up of matter and the different forms of matter are what make it possible for us to breathe and survive (Nivaldo, 2018, p. 67). Scientists study chemistry based on how it occurs in our everyday lives, health, and in the environment that we live in. The Digestive System Of Digestion Essay Digestion is the breaking apart of foods into smaller and smaller units and absorbtion is the movements of those small units from the gut into the bloodstream or lymphatic system for circulation. (1) The digestive system is what keeps you going from day to day because without the digestive system you wouldn t be able to consume anything. You also wouldn t be able to absorb the necessary nutrients you need for your body to keep functioning correctly. The organs that play a role in the digestive system is the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, appendix, rectum, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and the anal canal. The mouth is where it all starts. Before you even take a bite of your food, the smell of the food is what triggers your salivary glands which include the parotid, sublingual, and submandibular glands in your mouth making it start to water. Your saliva increases when you taste the food. When you chew the food into smaller pieces the enzyme amylase breaks food into small sugar molecules. To start fat digestion another enzyme is released at the base of the tongue called lingual lipase. A bolus is easy to swallow and is formed when saliva and other fluids in the mouth mixed with mucous. That s when I see my only friend in the world after J died: Rachel Myers. Strange, considering she s white and usually their kind don t hang out with the colored folk. I walk up to her and tap her locker to get her attention. What do you want, Marcus? she asks, not even bothering to look at me. Yup, that s how great of friends we are now. What s your problem? Daddy lower your allowance? I shoot back. Here s the thing. We re okay, you and me. But we re not friends, not anymore, so stop acting like we are. I don t want to be seen with you. I m not here to get the crap beaten out of me, so sorry, but screw off. Are you screwing with me? I ve known you and we ve been friends since 2nd effing grade! The words go from a shout to a hushed whisper as I remember what happens to the kids who make too much noise. And I m cutting the friendship off, she says like a bitch as she walks away from my life. I wrap my fingers around the cuff of her long sleeved shirt. Ohhh no. Oh no you effing don t. You don t get to walk away from me. Not after all the crap we ve been through. My only arm ripped away from that traitor as my shirt is yanked back and I m choked. An infamous voice booms from my attacker. This faggot bothering you, Rachel? I whip my head around. It is a dream of experiencing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To some people, the American dream is about being wealthy, practicing liberty, to believe in any religion, and to have better opportunities in life. Throughout history, many immigrants have migrated to America because they want to begin a new life and achieve the American Dream. Philippine immigration began with colonization of the Philippines as a U.S. territory. When the Philippines gained its independence from the U.S. it left an impression on the Filipino people. Many Filipinos felt that immigrating to the U.S. would be an opportunity to live a life like the Americans who left an impression in their hearts. The Americans taught the filipinos a common language like English, a culture of modernism, and most of all a life to live freely. Due to the problem of poverty and lack of free education, Filipinos lean towards migrating to the U.S. as part of their American dream. My mother is just like many other immigrants. She dreamed of a having a better life, with a promise of a good future and education for her children. Although she knew that she would face many challenges down the road. She still embarked on the journey, boldy, and driven by the hope of her American dream. With the process of trying to achieve the American Dream, she had given our family many things that money couldn t buy. She taught us how to be strong, faithful, and to never give up on our dreams. Even though her life was so simple back then, she never stopped dreaming big and always showed passion and drive in anything. • 34. Radley Vs Wagamese Don t judge a book by it s cover. A statement that reigns true no matter what book we are looking at. The characters, Boo Radley, from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and Saul Indian Horse, from the novel Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese, have very little in common, yet their personalities are both used by the authors to convey a common theme. With little in common, Saul is passionate and youthful where Boo is isolated and aged; still, both are of them are unfairly judged, and are cardinal demonstrations of don t judge a book by It s cover. To start, these character s differences can be seen in the way that they invest themselves. In Saul s case, his open personality allows him to invest himself in something the moment he gets ... Even though Saul s and Boo s intelligence levels are far from similar, it is their unique capabilities that provides exactly what they need. As can be seen, considering both books support the same theme, one should never judge a book by it s cover. • 35. Wave Patterns The Effect Mixing Has on the Wave Patterns of a Song Anna Rezhko Grade 10 Woodbridge High School January 16, 2014 Miss Cooper Abstract The purpose of the experiment was to find the objective difference between an original song and an acoustic or a remix version of the same song. The expectation was that the difference lies in the amount of contrast between the highest and lowest amplitude. Sound waves are created when an object vibrates back and forth and they have amplitudes, wavelengths, and frequencies. Sixty songs were analyzed in Audacity, a music program. Using the output, their amplitudes were measured and compared with other versions having clean audio and the same artist. Most of the data supported the hypothesis by stating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The outliers to this was Lips Are Moving, Viva la Vida, Take me to Church, and Ice Ice Baby. A possible reason for this is differences between recording circumstances. All artists have different equipment and that impacts the sound quality. Unfortunately, this is a variable that couldn t have been manipulated due to lack of resources and remains an issue in the experimental design. The recording of Lips Are Moving especially had unusably low Greatest Amplitude readings: 0.20, 0.17, and 0.18 cm. This is probably a flawed recording, not a program error, because all three trials were outliers and the rest of the songs had different results. Ideally, in future experiments, all the artists should be brought in to one studio and had them record in the exact same circumstances with the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Temptation, Blame, Forgiveness, And An Apple Essay Katherine Springer Mrs. Lang Honors Humanities 5th Hour 10 November 2016 Temptation, Blame, Forgiveness, and an Apple Genesis the book of the beginning of man, according to some religions. In this book, the age old story of Adam and Eve is recorded. The book tells of the first two humans on earth performing the original sin by eating an apple from the Tree of Knowledge in the sacred Garden of Eden. While this story may seem clear cut, humans always have different perspectives on the messages to take away from stories. Sometimes, these differing views are expressed in the form of art. The paintings Adam and Eve by Michelangelo and Adam and Eve by Cranach both portray the biblical story of the first humans betrayal of God. As shown by the composition of the paintings, as well as the actions of the figures, Cranach s couple seem to be unintentionally sinning, while Michelangelo s Adam and Eve appear to be purposeful in their actions. Cranach s placement of the figures draws the observer s eye to the apple instead of the serpent, implying that there are subtle manipulations taking place. On the other hand, Michelangelo s painting takes the viewer s eye to Eve directly taking the apple from a much larger serpent s hand, implying a much more direct intervention from Satan. Both paintings show how easily humans are influenced by temptation; this idea is a common theme across history, and it will be a theme as long as humanity continues to exist. One way both Cranach and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparison Of The Sabines, Titian s Rape Of Europa Poussin s Rape of the Sabines, Titian s Rape of Europa, or other paintings depict an assailant, commonly a Greek or Roman god or hero, raping a female in a beautiful and heroic love manner. This type of image also viewed as a heroic rape, has always received considerable attention. Initially from Greek mythology, the story of Castor and Pollux is an anecdote of the great twin brethren interested in two beautiful daughters, Phoebe and Hilaeira, as their wives. Disregarding the fact that these girls were betrothed to their cousins Lynceus and Idas, they carried the girls off to Sparta. Abduction, sexual violation, and defilement caused the fatal quarrel between the brothers and the brother s cousins. Visually stunning, Rubens depicts this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rubens s painting shows to be an example of arrogant, masculine dominance over weak, feminine submission. However, there is eroticism in the lighting and brush strokes, which in contrast to the context of the story, the central female figures appear to have some level of sexual energy and tension with the male figures. Ruben renders the soft face maidens in such a manner that they do not energetically resist the male figures. Although these characteristics correspond with the mythological scene that is taking place, this new interpretation also seems to have more psychoanalytical significance as well. Sigmund Freud expressed and refined the concepts of the unconscious, infantile sexuality, repression, and proposed a theory of the human brain s structure, all part of understanding the human psychological development and treating mental ... This quote rings very true in the sense that science fiction grants us the power to predict the future. Through these fictitious texts, we gain valuable insight into significant issues and matters both known and unknown. Although upon original release, these texts remain a mere glimpse into seemingly impossible technologies and societies, the true beauty of the genre, is that over time, we can see a definite parallel between the predictions made by authors and reality. • 40. The Effect Of Cologne On The Body The Effects of Cologne Can the way a man smells actually affect his life? Can buying expensive cologne give him more confidence or make him irresistible? Cologne advertisers would certainly seem to think so. In truth, scents can affect an individual in different ways. Certain scents can have particular effects on the body, and they can actually alter the way a person behaves or perceives himself. Scents that work positively with a man s body chemistry can actually change the way he acts or thinks. However, when cologne ads promise men that they will be handsome, successful, powerful, and talented because of the scents they wear, the industry begins to sell them fantasy rather than reality. Advertisements for cologne are very unique. Cologne ads usually portray a message that says wearing this will make you attractive or you will be more powerful by wearing this cologne. Most of these advertisements feature men, since men are their target audience. However, some other advertisements feature women, since women sometimes buy cologne for men as a gift. Some advertisements, like this one, feature celebrities. Having a good looking celebrity, such as James Franco, draws in the attention of viewers.
