Juvenile Crime Statistics Paper
This paper will address and summarize four different points from the juvenile arrests bulletin from
2001. Such points included in the summary are the overall decrease in juvenile arrests, the increase in
drug offenses and simple assaults, implications for juvenile females and minorities, and last an
assessment of the tracking of juvenile arrests as a method of measuring the amount of and trends in
juvenile crime.
In 2001 the juvenile violent crime index arrest rate declined for the seventh consecutive year. The rate
increased dramatically from the late 1980 s through 1994 and then began its steady downward trend.
By 2001 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The racial composition of juvenile population in 2001 was 78% white, 17% black, 4% Asian/pacific
islander, and 1% American Indian. Most Hispanics (an ethnic designation, not a race) were classified
as white. Black youth were overrepresented in juvenile arrests for violent crimes. All juvenile arrests
for violent crimes break down like this 55% involved white youth, 43% involved black youth, 1%
involved Asian youth, and 1% involved American Indian youth.
Assessment of tracking juvenile arrests and crime is important to know so the government knows what
laws are working and what laws need to be revised. Murder arrests in 2001 were near their lowest
levels since at least 1980 for both white and black youth. Between 1993 and 2001, murder rates for
white juveniles declined 62% while the rate for black juveniles declined 79%. In 2001 the robbery
arrests rates for both black youth and white youth were at a 20 year low. The 2001 aggravated assault
arrest rate for black juveniles was much closer to its 1980 level than was the rate for white juveniles.
The juvenile arrest rates for weapons violations and murder more than doubled between 1987 and the
peak year 1993. After 1993 both rates fell substantially the juvenile arrest rate for weapons law
violations was cut in half falling 49% and returning to the 1987 level. Between 1980 and 1993 the
juvenile arrest rate for drug abuse violations remained within a limited range. Between 1993 and 1997
however the rate grew 77% by

Hairball Essay
Hairball A solitary woman sits in conversation with a benign tumour that had just recently been
removed from her ovary. As the woman speaks, the inanimate tumour, which she has named Hairball,
looks on from its glass encased perch atop the fireplace. The scene is macabre and certainly unusual,
but such is the life of Kat, the main character in Margaret Atwood s short story, Hairball. Kat s life is
filled with the unusual and the shocking, a lifestyle that has been self imposed. Throughout the years,
Kat, an avant garde fashion photographer, has altered her image, even her name, to suit the
circumstances and the era. Over time Kat has fashioned a seemingly strong and impenetrable exterior,

Napoleon Equality
Beginning in the late 18th century controversy struck France; arguments over royal legitimacy,
starvation of the people, and lack of equality among the kingdom sparked what is known as the French
Revolution. The Estate System angered the people as it created significant inequality for the working
class and peasants. While many believed the third estate to be the foundation of the country, absolutist
ruler, Louis XVI, favored the first and second estates. As a result, the French Revolution prioritized
the fight for national equality. Napoleon, the son of the revolution, built his empire on liberty and
equality forever: liberte, egalite, fraternite. He came from the third estate, making him a relatable
candidate and became a successful general. While he created a brilliant empire, his lack of dedication
to his core ideals and those of the French Revolution resulted in its demise. ... Show more content on

The Napoleonic Code reasserted the fundamental principles of the Revolution. It stated the equality of
male citizens before the law, secured the wealth and private property of citizens, established religious
tolerance, and abolished feudalism. He also created the National Bank, which gave loans to enhance
the economy and competition. This resulted in substantial financial growth and regulated the currency.
In order to terminate the power of the nobles, Napoleon created a modern bureaucracy that promoted
meritocracy; leadership positions were given based on the hard work and success of men.
Additionally, he founded new schools and roads to increase education and safety. Napoleon was the
first servant of the state and people; unlike a divine ruler, he respected the people and worked for them
and not himself. His hard work to better his country aids his popularity and

The Characteristics Of Christopher Columbus
Write your first paragraph here:
In document A, it was made by Jean Marzollo. It s also written as a poem. It was written in 1948. The
poem was about when Christopher Columbus went traveling to different islands through the day and
night and he met lots of kind people in an island. He had to bring treasure for his people too. The
purpose was to prove people that he was a very good, brave, and a bright man for traveling and
finding treasure for his people. The point of view in this poem or document is that Christopher was a
brave and a kind man. This point of view is different from the others because this shows that it s a
peaceful and it has a few nice things about Christopher Columbus. The best difference is between this
source and source C. In source three it shows negative and violent things for what Christopher
Columbus did.

Compare And Contrast Edwards Vs Aguillard
In the late nineteen eighties, Edwards v. Aguillard argued that a Louisiana law was against the First
Amendment of the Constitution. This law prohibited public schools from teaching about evolution and
the evolutionary processes unless the topic was taught alongside religious based creation theories.
More specifically, this law imposed on public schools was argued to have broken the Establishment
Clause of the First Amendment. This clause simply says that absolutely no law can establish or
support a religion ( Establishment Clause , 2011). Many people challenged the state s law including
local parents and teachers as well as men and women with religious affiliations. Ultimately, the
Supreme Court found that the state s act was unlawful according to the Establishment Clause of the
First Amendment due to the fact that there was no non religious basis to the act. The creation theories
are entirely based around the idea that an all powerful god created the human race. Therefore the state
is promoting this religious teaching. Although it was argued that the act was to give students more
opportunities to learn, the point was made that the teachers lost the power to make decisions in his or
her own classroom. Furthermore, the law inhibits the learning of children by banning the teaching of
evolution unless creation is also taught in the classroom. The law ... Show more content on

Aguillard. I agree with the verdict of this case. Louisiana s law was clearly put into place to diminish
the validity behind the evolution theory. This is in clear violation of the Establishment Clause of the
First Amendment. The First Amendment is fairly clear, but the Establishment Clause is even more
straightforward. This clause is absolute, saying that no law can be in place supporting any
establishment of religion or religion itself ( Establishment Clause ,

One of the key components was that now, civil penalties could be assessed for failure to follow FTC s
orders, such as cease and desist orders, should the respondent ignore the order. Previously, they would
just be sanctioned. In addition, the amendment to Section 5 was to include unfair and deceptive acts or
practices. Prior to this passage of the Wheeler Lea Act, it was the burden of the FTC to prove unfair
methods of competition. The Wheeler Lea Act expanded on the food and drug advertising, as well.
(Brown, 1947) Over the next few decades, the FTC saw changes, many fleeting and few with staying
power. There were also staffing issues from the 1930s to present. In addition, at one point in time,
when the FTC was tasked with enforcing labeling and identification, especially within the textiles and
furs industry, many felt that the FTC overzealously pursued labeling claims. FTC also saw other
challenges such as scathing reviews by critics consistently accusing the FTC of falling short. From
1933 through 1935, there were significant turnovers of leadership areas including the Commissioner s
position. Critics would claim that the Commission had become complacent after the existing board
remained in place from 1935 to 1945. (Federal Trade Commission, 2004) William Brown wrote that

Examples Of Christianity In Frankenstein s Monster
Benevolence, charity and justice are values that come to my mind when I think about Christianity but
I normally do not think about them when I am describing a monster which is for me stereotypical a
horrible, brutal and wretched creature. But how can Frankenstein s Monster, which he creates in the
novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in the year 1818, still be a Christian monster? By
connecting some of the Monster s qualities with typical Christian qualities, I will argue that this
Monster embodies a plurality of Christian qualities, although they do not prevent him from his brutal
revenge. Frankenstein s Monster knows a lot about Christianity because it reads Paradise Lost by
Milton which records the events of Genesis. Here the creature learned a lesson about man s place in
the order of things , as Robert M. Ryan argues (152). After this lecture, Frankenstein s Monster knows
that there is a creator, a God who cares about his creatures wellness with benevolence and love. The
knowledge of the existence of a God and of Christianity alone does not automatically make the
creature a Christian, but it is the basis for him adopting the Christian ideology. The next step on the
Creature s way to Christianity is to transfer its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is shown in the practical charity demonstrated in the Monster s humble, anonymous services to
the DeLacey family (Ryan 152). Charity is the most important Christian value as we see in the Bible.
Here Jesus answered to the question which would be the most important commandment, that you
should love your next like you love yourself (1133). And so, by collecting wood for his needy, beloved
friends (Shelley 77) or clearing the snow in the night (Shelley 79), Frankenstein s Monster performs
one of the most basic, but also most important Christian values, probably even without knowing

Introduction
The Roman Catholic Church is the largest church of all the Christian denominations with over 1.2
billion followers around the world. The Bishop of Rome or in other words, the Pope, is at the forefront
in leading such an expansive religion that extends its influence and borders beyond the Vatican City in
Rome. The Church teaches that they are the one, true church founded by Jesus Christ, claiming their
bishops to be the successors of his apostles, and that the Pope himself as the same with the many prior
popes in history are the successor to Saint Peter whom Jesus gave the Keys of Heaven to be the ...

The euphoria after JFK s victory of Catholic Americans experiencing a positive perspective by the
remainder of the country lasted until the 21st century. The biggest setback the church would face
regarding their public image was about to unfold. The Boston Globe released an article covering five
Roman Catholic priests being prosecuted for child sex abuse. The 2002 article unanimously won a
Pulitzer Prize becoming a national scandal that brought many more people to come forward with their
allegations of abuse. Roman Catholic diocese across the country quickly learned that this wasn t an
isolated issue and began to pay out settlements in the millions towards the vast number of civil
lawsuits. The church asserted remorse for the countless priests at fault, estimating the problem was
amongst no more than one percent of the 410,000 Roman Catholic priests worldwide. Regardless, the
major concern was approximately 80 percent of the cases reported occurred in the United States, while
a report by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice indicated 4 percent of priests who served between
the years 1950 2002 had allegations made against them. Addressing the issue as an internal matter,
matters were taken into the church s hands. Instead of permanently removing priests from their roles,
they were moved from one parish to another, remaining in close contact with children. Psychological
treatment was given to offending priests, while rarely reporting incidents to the police. The church s
defense was priests were allowed to return to duty once psychologists and psychiatrists notified their
bishops of their medical assessment, deeming them fit to return and face reassignment. A panel of
eight non Catholic psychiatric experts concluded at a 2003 Vatican Conference on Sexual Abuse that
the Catholic hierarchy failed to realize the seriousness of the problem, urge to cover up the

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is coming the most popular used signaling protocol by the Telephony

SIP and H323 are two known signalling protocol. SIP was founded by Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) while H323 was created by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). However,
SIP is the most one used because it is simple to implement and easy to connected. Due to its simple
implementation and high popularity, SIP is becoming attractive target for many different attackers.
In order to secure SIP against attackers, many security mechanisms have been suggested in the RFC
3261 such as HTTP Digest authentication , TLS, S/MIME. HTPP Digest allow to SIP server to
authenticate the client s identity, however it is discovered vulnerable to many attacks, Then other SIP
authentication are proposed. For more information about SIP authentication see the survey study.
Various attacks can be launched by attackers in SIP environment such as DoS attacks, toll fraud
attacks, fishing attacks and SPIT (Spam over IP Telephony). Dos aims to exhaust servers resources
(Memory, CPU..) and bandwidth. This attack can be caused by malformed message or by flooding
attack. In this work we concentrate on flooding attack. To secure SIP against flooding attacks many
works have been done and various approaches have been proposed. However, the problem still exists
and most of proposed approaches focused on detection of the attack without exploiting its results.

An Appeal In Favor Of That Class Of Americans
There were two very clear schools of literary criticism included in this piece. The first school of
criticism that can be found in this writing is the historical criticism. Historical criticism considers the
time in history in which the text was written and/or in which the text takes place. The time period that
Lydia wrote this piece in was directly related to the piece itself. She wrote about what was occurring
in history to educate the people of that time along with readers afterwards in order to fully understand
what was happening. If the time period were any different I am sure that her pieces would have
reflected those moments in time. The second form of literary criticism that can be found here is race
and ethnicity criticism. Race and ethnicity criticism considers how the race and/or ethnicity of the
characters and/or the author helps the reader to form an understanding of the text. The characters that
Lydia wrote about in this piece were primarily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It opened my eyes to so much new information that I had no idea about before, and if I was able to be
educated by this information I couldn t imagine the effect it would have had on her readers back then.
Her ability to be real, direct and not sugar coat the information is what really set her apart. I think
many people still tip toe around the topic of slavery but Lydia did not. Not only was the piece itself
impressive but her ability to take a leap and put herself out there was truly admirable. She knew the
topic was risky but that didn t stop her. Not only was it a risky topic but she was also a woman writer
and during that time period for many woman writers, that would have been enough. Lydia didn t care
whose toes she stepped on or who she offended she was going to speak her mind and let her thoughts
be known and that was the most incredible thing I took away from her

The Delivery On Mother Request
Caesarean Delivery on Mother Request
University of Mary
Fall 2016
Jennifer Escher
Caesarean Delivery upon request it is defined as a primary pre labor delivery on the request of the
mother in the absence of any maternal or fetal indications. Risks that are potential with a maternal
requested delivery will explain that hospital stay is longer, increased risk with respiratory issues with
mother and infant, and greater complications for the maternal with other pregnancies. Those
complications can include rupture of the uterus, implantation problems with next pregnancy and the
need for hysterectomy due to complications of prior caesarean. Potential benefits from a planned
caesarean can include decrease in complications from birth, decrease in the risk of hemorrhage and
transfusions from blood lost. Fewer complications from surgery and the fetal outcome from
respiratory complications is decreased. According to The American College of Obstetrics and
Gynecologists The belief that the absence of maternal and fetal indications for caesarean delivery, a
planned delivery is safe and appropriate and should be recommended to patients, delivery should not
be performed before a gestational age of 39 weeks . (2013). The ability of maternal requested should
not be available or recommended unless there is complication or effective pain management. This is
also not recommended for maternal that want to have more children. The risks outweighs the benefits

Summary Of We Are All Bystanders Essay
Everyday humans are presented with new opportunities and situations. These events can change the
way they think and make decisions. But it s the way it can change ones relationships that can really
hurt one s ability to care. There is a total of 7.442 billion people alive today. Yet only a small portion
of that are people one truly cares about. For many people, a specific setting, situation or emotion can
alter the way people can think rationally.
Throughout life, one is to see many people they don t know Humans walk past each other and no
interaction occurs. Depending on a particular situation one might be in, it can change the ability to
react, help and care for a stranger in need. In the article We are all bystanders , by Jason Marsh and
Dacher Keltner, it shows how in certain settings people don t act to help another, even though one
might want to. Everyday Stuart would board the bus and a couple of boys would tease him. I would sit
silent and watch. I wish I would ve helped (Marsh/Keltner 3). People develop a feeling that prevents
them from caring for strangers. This is due to a thought of peer pressure or judgement that could be
given to an individual for taking action. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Motifs In Pablo Picasso s Guernica
There have been countless interpretations of the motifs within Pablo Picasso s Guernica since it was
first exhibited in July of 1937 at the Paris International Exposition. Initially, the painting was not well
received by critics. It was presumably destined to collect dust at the back of Picasso s studio.
However, after the events of the Second World War, the imagery represented within Guernica became
painfully familiar. Its macabre elements strongly resonated with people from around the globe, and the
appalling atrocities suffered by many communities worldwide became synonymous with both the
painting and the town of Geurnica itself. His stylistic choices, the use of geometric shapes and the

Cassius Dio s Roles Of The Empire And Augustus
Cassius Dio insists the empire and Augustus owe an extraordinary amount to Gaius Maecenas, Marcus
Agrippa, and to a lesser extent, Livia. While the empire had problems with stability from time to time,
the three of them had their roles in cultivating prosperity. The role of lifelong friend and confidante is
attributed to Agrippa, as his loyalty ceased to cultivate throughout the years. The trifecta aided
Augustus in ruling and improving the empire, while sporadically corralling the Octavian mindset
inside of Augustus. Augustus single handedly appointed Agrippa to settle disputes that arose on the
frontier, and in Rome. He was the ultimate plug n play general of the empire, and proved his worth
early on until his death in 12 B.C through military ventures and building projects. Gaius Maecenas
had a profound impact on Augustus decision to retain the power that he acquired after defeating Marc
Antony and Cleopatra, which shaped the government into what eventually existed in Dio s time. He
also handled important business in Rome while the emperor was absent, acting as a sit in caesar, if you
will. Livia attempted to promote the women of Rome, while also helping Augustus soothe
relationships with the latter s enemies. However, mischievous presumptions loom from Dio around
Livia regarding certain disastrous events. Nonetheless, without Livia, Maecenas, and especially
Agrippa, Octavian might not have ever had the chance to rule Rome. Cassius Dio portrays Marcus

King Kong Analysis
A film on how love knows no bounds, where love happens in unexpected ways, Merian C. Cooper
Ernest B. Schoedsack s King Kong introduces the element of surprise within the plot that leaves many
to feel flabbergasted at the unravelled events. A gorilla worshiped as a god by many, that goes by the

Due to the crew s admiration of the gorilla, they offer their star actress Ann Darrow as a sacrifice to
appease the beast. However, Kong eventually falls in love with Ann, regardless of their biological
differences. On the other hand, Ann already has a human companion by the name of Carl Denham
who intends to rescue Ann from the gorilla s grasp rather than to see her disappear forever with Kong.
The idea that love between a beast and human seem rather trivial in the eyes of spectators who critique
the movie; the plot provides a surprising element to illuminate the fact that the fondness between the
individuals are portrayed different from within our usual view of what is normal. In comparison with
the 2005 film adaption by director Peter Jackson, I d say that the recent film deviated from the film to
create an atmosphere where the audience are made to wait in suspense for each passing scene. Since
film director Peter Jackson directed the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, many expected the movie to
be an amazing spectacle. Renditions were made to fit society s expectations today such as

The Influence of the Communist Manifesto on the...
The Communist Manifesto left a tremendous impact on a society that was rapidly becoming
industrialized, and its effects can even be seen on the dominating economic system of the twenty first
century. In the later nineteenth century, however, industrial capitalism was on the brink of ruin. On
many occasions during the past century, Marxists have thought that capitalism was down for the count
. . . Yet it has always come back with renewed strength. Industrial capitalism succeeded in the face of
communism, despite numerous economic disasters. As the capitalist economists hopefully noted at the
time, these economic earthquakes, temporary in character, soon cured themselves and left capitalism
unscathed. Karl Marx sought to create ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the continuation of capitalism, the middle class successfully emerged as the dominating class
in our society. As Lewis Corey states, Workers were becoming capitalists, the capitalists becoming
workers. Industrial capitalism spawned a middle class, molded the exact same way that Marx
predicted in his major work. In establishing the goals of the Communist party, Marx stated, In the
national struggles of the proletarians of the different countries, they point out and bring to the front the
common interests of entire proletariat, independently of nationality. Once again, the Communist
Manifesto espouses capitalistic ideas. By the end of the twentieth century, industrial capitalism
reached a monumental point in its history; the economic system was almost completely global.
Securities traded in markets around the world could be purchased by almost anyone, regardless of
nationality or location. As John Gurley states, At the present time, the advanced capitalistic countries

Recent Work On Follow The Perturbed Leader ( Ftpl )...
Recent work on follow the perturbed leader (FTPL) algorithms for adversarial multi armed bandit
problem has highlighted the role of the hazard rate of the distribution generating the perturbations.
Assuming that the hazard rate is bounded allows one to provide regret analyses for a variety of
FTPL algorithms for the multi armed bandit problem. This paper pushes the inquiry into regret bounds
for FTPL algorithms beyond the bounded hazard rate condition. There are good reasons to do so:
natural distributions such as the uniform and Gaussian violate the condition. We give regret bounds for
both bounded support and unbounded support distributions without assuming the hazard rate
condition. We also disprove a conjecture that the Gaussian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The former corresponds to infimal convolution smoothing and the latter corresponds to stochastic (or
integral convolution) smoothing (Abernethy et al., 2014). Having a generic framework for
understanding perturbations allows one to study a wide variety of online linear optimization games
and a number of interesting perturbations.
There has also been some work on understanding perturbation approaches in bandit problems.
Kujala and Elomaa (2005) and Poland (2005) both showed that using the exponential (actually double
exponential/Laplace) distribution in an FTPL algorithm coupled with standard unbiased estimation
techniques yields near optimal O(NT logN) regret in T rounds with N arms. Unbiased estimation
needs access to arm probabilities that are not explicitly available when using an FTPL algorithm. Neu
and Bart´ok (2013) introduced the geometric resampling scheme to approximate these probabilities
while still guaranteeing low regret. Recently, Abernethy et al. (2015) analyzed FTPL for adversarial
multi armed bandits and provided regret bounds under the condition that the hazard rate of the
perturbation distribution is bounded. This condition allowed them to consider a variety of perturbation
distributions beyond the exponential, such as gamma, Gumbel, Frechet, Pareto, and Weibull.
Unfortunately, the bounded hazard rate condition is violated by two of the most widely known
distributions: namely the uniform1 and the Gaussian distributions. As a result, the

Why Do Immigrants Take American Jobs
Immigration has been a widely controversial topic for most Americans. Many Americans claim that
immigrants take American jobs right under our noses. The notion that immigrants take American jobs,
is a huge misconception. In Aviva Chomsky s novel, They Take Our Jobs! and 20 other myths about
immigration, explores different ideas on why many Americans believe that immigration is a big threat
to the current American job market. To battle these tropes, Chomsky states facts and backs her claims
with many examples to amply prove that Immigration is not a major factor to the loss of jobs. Though
many Americans will continue to blame immigrants, mainly because they are legally deprived of
many of the rights U.S. citizens get. It s an easy scapegoat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The catch is, the jobs that are available aren t always the most highest paid jobs that people want to
do. It s certainly not enough to support families, but immigrants and some poor Americans will still
work those jobs, because it s the only thing they are able to do. They settle for lousy jobs, and embrace
the low wages. But even if population continues to grow, it s not guaranteed that job s will continue to
keep flourishing if the community isn t well. Job s that affect the community are local jobs, which
help out the community because the money they make goes towards the community. But most jobs
rely on the global market to stay afloat in the economy. And typically, the jobs that rely on the global
market instead of the local market, aren t able to support the local communities which can keep local
communities stagnant. The more support that goes into the global businesses, leads local businesses to
often close, which follows more job losses. The more job losses there are in the community, the more
people will leave the community to find a different one with actual jobs. It s a continuous

Circle Of Stone Woman s Journey To Herself Summary
Section One
Circle of Stones Woman s Journey to Herself is basically a guide for women to find their true selves
using the ancient archetypal feminine manifest form. There are a group of women that are being very
detailed about the journeys, dreams, and visions they experienced in their lives. They are being very
open and telling the truth so the author was able to use all their stories to create a feminine space so
we can relate and look at our lives through the women s ancient culture and rituals. It takes you on a
journey a meditative experience of the lost feminine so by the end of the book you can be awaken and
be able to help other women. The book first talks about how important it is for women to cry. The

years ago until laws were introduced. The laws took all the rights from women which lead us to now.
Women went from having everything and knowing themselves. To being confident, protective, and
goodness to not having anything and having to obey orders from men. In order to grow and find one
true self you have to leave behind the usual role you are expected to do and basically do what you
want. Through the processes of finding yourself you have to go through different stages and the book
takes you through them. The stages are sense of depth, feelings, process, fear, need, self, growing
being, gathering wholeness, embracing woundedness, finding her voice. By the end of this book you
should have a vision for the impact women should and will have on our current culture and society.
Also, you should know how your life will better from the impact you have on other women and the
impact they have on you. This book really shows how women can and should work together and

Marriage, Divorce and Celibacy
Abstract
This paper explores the Apostle Paul s teachings on marriage, divorce, remarrying and celibacy. This
teaching on marriage is found in 1 Corinthians 7. In his teachings Paul gives advice to the unmarried
in, he gives advice to those who divorce, separate, wish to remarry and gives advice to those who are
married. Along with the teachings of Paul we will also explore the rating of marriage, living together
out of wedlock and divorce. We will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The husband must love his wife as he loves himself and must not divorce his wife.
Another thing that we learn from Paul is about the problems in marriage and divorce. Paul teaches
about some of the most common marital problems. A big marital problem is sex and faithfulness. God
tell us that our bodies belong to him, we must flee from sexual immorality and that anyone who sins
sexually sins against their own bod because our bodies belong to our spouse. A husband must not go
and seek sex outside the marriage nor go to the courts to force his wife to have sex with him. The wife
must not deprive herself from her husband and causing
Marriage, Divorce and Celibacy him to fall into temptation to seek sex outside the marriage. We learn
about divorce in Matthew 5:32 which says But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife,
except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits
adultery. A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives and must not separate from him and a
husband should not divorce his wife. Paul taught us that marriage is hard and there will be many hard
times but we must learn to get through it with God as our guidance.
In today s world so many people are more concerned with their own needs and wants that they forget
completely about God and his commandments. People are more concerned with pleasing themselves
and are more concerned with their own sexual desires that

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Communication System
Bureaucracy, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Working Practices necessary to ensure
consistency can stifle staff engagement and affect performance, limits formal procedures and
processes. Furthermore, standard letters issued to stakeholders, which offer no facility for amendment
or personalisation, can disassociate and weaken customer relationships.
Network channels of communication, their benefits and implications are not considered. Teams are
created purely by location, in order to meet the organisations future vision for 2020. However,
different tasks benefit from different communication networks. For example some roles within TSL
require isolation or home working and would be categorised as a wheel network whilst others are
based upon a processing system following a Y network structure, see figure 1.5 above. No
consideration has been made to the management of virtual teams where effective communication
needs to be encouraged and managed. This is vitally important, especially if the group has not been
through the five key stages of group development described in the model by Bruce W. Tuckman,
which follows a group from formation and conflict in establishing boundaries, to performing and
finally adjournment when the group disbands.
The key strength of the organisations communication system is YETI and OneFile: TSL s programme
to improve business operations. Since its implementation, it has streamlined business operations and

Jane Eyre And A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man
The novels Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Brontë, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by James
Joyce, both exemplify the bildungsroman style, showing the growth of the characters over the course
of each book. As bildungsroman novels, both texts share elements common to the genre, such as
focusing primarily on character thoughts and reactions. They also share traits like periods of character
development being tied to a particular place. However, they differ in other areas like narration style,
conflict, and dialogue. The literary techniques that Brontë and Joyce use cause them to approach the
development of self as shown in the characters coming of age, in different ways, while still being in
essence the same type of book, reflecting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Helen s devotion to her beliefs has a significant influence on Jane s development as she retains strong
ties to her principles throughout the book, as shown when she refuses to live with Rochester as his
wife after the revelation of Bertha Mason s continued existence. In Portrait, Christianity is tied to
Stephen Dedalus growth as well, but not in the same manner, as he does not increasingly embrace
religion as he matures. He instead maintains an off and on relationship with the church, as he is at
times wholly devoted to maintaining himself in the manner dictated by the Catholic leadership and at
others is as far as can be from what they give as standards of goodness and purity. His conflict with
establishment versus individuality culminates in Stephen rejecting the church s teachings in favor of
viewing the world through his own eyes, leaving the strictly scripted trappings of traditional religion
behind him, a major event in his development from childhood into adulthood. Jane Eyre and A Portrait
of the Artist as a Young Man also use distinct ways to show the growth of identity in their characters.
One of these is the narrator: in Jane Eyre, the story is told in first person through Jane s own eyes. By
writing in the first person, Brontë creates an effect by which Jane s point of view is the only one that is
available in its entirety

Jazz Dance History
KEEP CALM AND JAZZ ON

thought of as an American creation, but it truly originates from a form of dance that was African
American in origin. This occurred during the late 1800s. The first man to officially perform jazz dance
was an American called Joe Frisco in around 1910. Though this was the first recorded history of jazz
dancing, its roots seemed to lie further in the past than this.
When slaves were transported from Africa to America, they were allowed by their traders to dance as
it kept them physically fit and emotionally going. The moves thus created by these slaves were a

Primates, Humans, And Humans
Primates, unlike humans are found only in tropical or subtropical regions of the Americas, African,
and Asian continent. Primates come in different sizes and shapes. They range from Lemurs as small
as, Madame Berthes Mouse Lemur to the largest primate living known as the Eastern Gorilla.
Primates, similar to humans are species that play an important role in maintaining and influencing our
ecological system. They maintain the forest system between animals and its resources by taking on
various roles such as being herbivores, pollinators, and seed dispersers (Chapman Peres, 2001).
However, over time many species of primates have become endangered and are threatened with
extinction due to human activities such as Habitat Destruction, Hunting/Bush meat, Pet Trade, and
Diseases. It has been estimated that more than 50% of all primate species are faced with some sort of
threat (Chapman Peres, 2001). Leaving us with an increasing number of discovered and undiscovered
primate species endangered or at the brink of extinction. Primates are threatened by many different
factors but Hunting and Habitat Disturbance has become the most common threats to primate survival.
As the human population continues to grow and thrives to meet its daily needs and resource demands
(Oates, 2013). In other words, forest areas are altered for urban and economic development through
agricultural expansion, logging, mining, road expansions, water projects and cattle grazing

dangerous yet contagious phenomenon contaminating the lives of teens and adults all over the country,

Not only can sexting get attention, but it can also be used as a tool to get a man interested, if not
already interested. A woman who has sexted before claimed that sexting is just another tool in the

woman out. (With your cell phone) you can be the freakiest, dirtiest and most sexually uninhibited
woman around. This same woman also claimed that sexting is another tool in the arsenal to stay on his
mind 24/7 (Tapper). Teenagers see sexting as high tech flirting as well (Kingston). Sexting isn t just
something to do while bored or to get attention, but it s also used to stay on the mind of his or her
lover all the time.
Although it is a useful tool to get on someone s mind, sexting can alter, if not destroy, the perception

piece of garbage that we can toss to whomever we d like. Sexting is degrading the image of the body.
Kids and even some adults need to know about the importance and beauty of the body. If we teach the

Logistics Of Container Liner Shipping

Container liner shipping has become one of the most important transportation modes in international
trade. It is growingly penetrated into the share of many conventional shipping modes. Containerized
cargo has been the most dynamic cargo group. About 60% of the value of goods transported by sea is
containerized cargo (Stopford 2009). In 2011, container shipping carried some 1.477 million tons of
8,879 million tons of seaborne trade (Unctad 2011). In terms of TEU, world container traffic grew

The Rookery is a section of Upper Blackrock Spire that, back in 2005, was notoriously easy to screw
up. The room is littered with dragon eggs. Touching an egg causes it to hatch. There are dragons
within the Rookery that intentionally hatch eggs as part of an event called Father Flame. If a players
group broke one egg, it was likely to break more and in ones group s panic to kill the whelps it
hatched, things would get a little chaotic and inevitably a group would break more.
The Rookery could be done with no problems at all, but it took either experience or planning. The
PALS FOR LIFE video parodies exactly that standing in fear outside of the Rookery, discussing in
depth strategy for how to handle the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The game interface allows players to customize appearance and controls, and to install add ons and

World of Warcraft has a very expansive lore and an even more expansive style of gameplay. A single
player in WoW may have over 20 active skills at any time; using the entire keyboards just to cast
abilities and activate skills provides a widely varied gameplay. The average amount of buttons that is
on a console controller is 14 widely restricting gameplay, and limiting players to a more casual
experience while playing their favorite games. The lore of WoW cultivated video games as a form of
art instead of the mind numbing run of the mill shooting games that were all too familiar. With
loveable characters, amazing plot arcs, and heartbreaking moments WoW showed the world that
games can be just as much an art form as any book or painting.
The rise of WoW to the top of the video game industry showed us that living in a virtual world is not
so different from living in the real world. one can perform many of the same tasks in life that one can
in WoW (barring the monster fighting, flying, and stuff) tasks like fishing, farming, or just performing
odd jobs for any Non Player Characters (NPC) that may need it.
World of Warcraft runs natively on both Macintosh and Windows platforms. Boxed copies of the
game use a hybrid CD to install the game, eliminating the need for separate Mac and Windows retail
products.

Violence And Sexual Abuse Of Stockholm Syndrome And...
This is another phrase that many little girls seek comfort in: If a boy picks on you, that means that he
actually likes you from a guardian usually. For her to hear this after being bullied destroys her ideas
about being treated well by men. It s not that far of a leap between a bratty boy tugging on a little girl
s pigtails or pushing her in the playground, to dragging her across the floor by her hair or shoving her
out of frustration with enough force to break bones. The parallels are too coinciding to ignore. If this
thinking and behaviour is not corrected in youth, it will prosper and grow into something more
harmful than a playground scuffle. This makes this damaging wives tale an enforcer of Stockholm
syndrome and violence against women. (Jameson, 2011)
These kinds of societal beliefs teaches men to treat the women they admire with brutality as an
expression of their feelings as well as a sexual object of their desire. It has taught women to accept
these acts of violence and sexual abuse as an equivalent for love and compliment. Stockholm
syndrome is a defense mechanism of sorts: the abused psychologically creates an affection for the
abuser to cope with their life threatening circumstances. [Stockholm syndrome] is proffered as a
psychological explanation for the question of why people can be unable or unwilling to leave abusive
relationships... [this implies] that the development of a bond between victim and aggressor is the best
way to ensure the victim s survival

I Am A Strategic Thinker
Reflecting upon my personal areas for growth, I recognize a deep need to become more comfortable
amiss conflict and to be an active participant in resolving conflict throughout the various aspects of
my life. Conflict resolution is a necessary skill in order to be an adaptable minister and chaplain. It is
essential to understand what the sources of tension may be and how to react in grace and love to work
towards reconciliation. I am not an assertive person and have found myself avoiding conflict through
compromising or giving up my ideas for another. Going forward in ministry, I need to be prepared to
understand where conflict arises and how to squander it. I am a strategic thinker and hope to learn and
adapt methods for handling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conflict management assumes that conflict is a constant feature of group life. The idea is to keep it
within boundaries, not to eliminate it. Conflict resolution sees conflict as an interruption of normal
life.ii The idea is to find a solution usually a compromise as quickly as possible. Conflict cannot be
avoided, yet how religious leaders speak about and react to the conflict will frame how the community
handles conflict that arises. The stories and teachings of the Bible assume that conflict and change are
a natural and normal part of individual and community life.iii As leaders, we can be the voice that
highlights overlooked insights and methods while acknowledging and affirming the emotions in the
conversation and what each person has at stake in the decision making. People cause conflict. We can
either further the conflict or squander it with our actions.
The conflict that is dealt with, discussed, managed, and resolved can be good. This kind of conflict
provides an opportunity for growth and creative change. On the other hand, the conflict that is left
unattended and ignored can destroy unity, hinder growth, and render ministry ineffective. Poorly
managed situations can lead to increased tension, decreased productivity, and lingering resentments
that can last a very long time. Alternatively, if the conflict is well managed, it can lead to improved
communication and teamwork, more innovative ideas, and increased motivation. We let present
annoyances

Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists
To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It was
created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a
real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it
is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the
creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not
have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against
bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using
ethos and pathos to make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of
logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona
that allows the audience to see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with
authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done
in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer
by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. He tells the story of his pain
when he was bullied and how simple name calling left lasting effects on him personally. This not only
lets the viewer see that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has

An Essay On The Movie Atonement
The film, Atonement, is about a dramatic romance during the 1930 s in England. This film has 3 parts
to it. First part tells the story of the Tallis Family in 1935. The two main characters, Cecilia and
Robbie, are in love but Cecilia s younger sister, Briony, does not like the idea of them two being
together. They had cousins living with them at the time. One evening the twin cousins went missing
and everybody was out searching for them. Briony stumbles across a man who has apparently raped
Lola. She was unable to identify the man clearly but gave Lola the idea that it was Robbie. Lola
accuses Robbie of doing this sexual action under pressure from Briony and the lack of remembering
the rapists face. Robbie was then sent to prison. The second part takes place ... Show more content on

It showed Robbie fighting in the battle of Dunkirk. He had to fight in the war to clear him from a
crime. There were many scenes in this movie that had happened in real life. For example, when the
British Army was waiting to evacuate the beaches of Dunkirk, the Germans still continued to attack,
which was an accurate detail from the war that was played in this movie. It showed that the Germans
were heartless. The battle of Dunkirk was a fight between Germany and the allies. The Germans
trapped British and French armies on the beaches of Dunkirk. There were about 330,000 men that
were trapped. The beach was unable to allow large boats to get near where the actual men were.
Smaller boats were brought in where men boarded on and then soon after got transferred to a larger
boat. There were about 800 little ships that were used to save these men that were trapped. Although
there were numerous amounts of casualties, the evacuation was a boost for the British and it gave
confidence to the allies to keep fighting. This film was an accurate depiction of the time period
because it showed the tragic thoughts these men were thinking because of the fear of not being

Mind Control Quotes
One that has no mind is being kept from their personal freedoms and desires. If one was to pick if
either mind control is worse or physical control I would choose mind control because your mind is
who you are, your personality. When one controls their mind they are not allowing their imagination or
emotions get the best of them and that is controlling one s thinking.
When one does not have control of their mind they are not able to think for themselves therefore
resulting in not being able to have opinions or even a personality and is kept from their freedoms and
rights to do what they desire. Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear
(Orwell, Brainy Quotes). If someone is controlling a mind they are restricting

Technology is the crucial factor for education sector to maintain all the data and information more
effectively and efficiently. Increasing dependence on the technology is adjusting student teacher
cooperation with the progression of time (Candace, 2004). Nowadays, people use computers and
internet for learning different programs. Internet helps students to find their own answers without the
help of the teachers. Information technology like internet is increasing the opportunities to learn new
things more easily and quickly. There are various online libraries that help the students and teachers
with reading materials. Students can also post their work online for the teachers to read and grade. For
instances: Westcliff university is using GAP (online system) where the student can see the question
and post their answer online and the teachers can check the students work online as well. Information
system has brought advancement in learning process with the help of audio visual education.
Nowadays, most of the students are taught with projectors and speakers with the help of power point
presentation. In today s technological world, most of the education sector utilizes the latest technology
and software so as to enhance the overall learning experience of the students (Pandey,

The Relationship Between Politics And Administration In...
The idea of civil service dates back to ancient times. But bureaucracy is modern terms that evolved
with the emergence of Public Administration as an academic field. Politics administration dichotomy
is one of the most important factor in the Study of Public Administration by Woodrow Wilson in 1887
(Afegbua: 2013). Nature of administration, the extent of work by bureaucracy and many other issues
are characterized by the relationship between politics and administration. Bangladesh has experienced
different forms of government regime from military autocratic to democratic republic. Before
liberation, it experienced government system under British Colonialism and government by Pakistan
as it was part of Pakistan earlier. Due to the variation in the forms of government the relations between
politics and administration were also different.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is one of the most important pillars of the National
Integrity System having a key role in promoting excellence and integrity in the public service and
administration of the country. PSC s independence, political neutrality, transparency, accountability,
integrity and effectiveness are fundamental prerequisites for carrying out its functions which include
holding of competitive examinations for recruitment to the public service, recommend recruitments,
promotions, discipline, employee appeal and other related matters. Lack of credibility and integrity of
this vital Constitutional body not only

As the woman speaks, the inanimate tumour, which she has named Hairball, looks on from its glass encased perch atop the fireplace. The scene is macabre and certainly unusual, but such is the life of Kat, the main character in Margaret Atwood s short story, Hairball. Kat s life is filled with the unusual and the shocking, a lifestyle that has been self imposed. • 6. Napoleon Equality Beginning in the late 18th century controversy struck France; arguments over royal legitimacy, starvation of the people, and lack of equality among the kingdom sparked what is known as the French Revolution. The Estate System angered the people as it created significant inequality for the working class and peasants. While many believed the third estate to be the foundation of the country, absolutist ruler, Louis XVI, favored the first and second estates. As a result, the French Revolution prioritized the fight for national equality. Napoleon, the son of the revolution, built his empire on liberty and equality forever: liberte, egalite, fraternite. He came from the third estate, making him a relatable candidate and became a successful general. While he created a brilliant empire, his lack of dedication to his core ideals and those of the French Revolution resulted in its demise. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to terminate the power of the nobles, Napoleon created a modern bureaucracy that promoted meritocracy; leadership positions were given based on the hard work and success of men. • 8. Compare And Contrast Edwards Vs Aguillard In the late nineteen eighties, Edwards v. Aguillard argued that a Louisiana law was against the First Amendment of the Constitution. This law prohibited public schools from teaching about evolution and the evolutionary processes unless the topic was taught alongside religious based creation theories. More specifically, this law imposed on public schools was argued to have broken the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. This clause simply says that absolutely no law can establish or support a religion ( Establishment Clause , 2011). Many people challenged the state s law including local parents and teachers as well as men and women with religious affiliations. Ultimately, the Supreme Court found that the state s act was unlawful according to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment due to the fact that there was no non religious basis to the act. The creation theories are entirely based around the idea that an all powerful god created the human race. Therefore the state is promoting this religious teaching. Although it was argued that the act was to give students more opportunities to learn, the point was made that the teachers lost the power to make decisions in his or her own classroom. Furthermore, the law inhibits the learning of children by banning the teaching of evolution unless creation is also taught in the classroom. The law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the key components was that now, civil penalties could be assessed for failure to follow FTC s orders, such as cease and desist orders, should the respondent ignore the order. Previously, they would just be sanctioned. In addition, the amendment to Section 5 was to include unfair and deceptive acts or practices. Prior to this passage of the Wheeler Lea Act, it was the burden of the FTC to prove unfair methods of competition. The Wheeler Lea Act expanded on the food and drug advertising, as well. (Brown, 1947) Over the next few decades, the FTC saw changes, many fleeting and few with staying power. There were also staffing issues from the 1930s to present. In addition, at one point in time, when the FTC was tasked with enforcing labeling and identification, especially within the textiles and furs industry, many felt that the FTC overzealously pursued labeling claims. FTC also saw other challenges such as scathing reviews by critics consistently accusing the FTC of falling short. From 1933 through 1935, there were significant turnovers of leadership areas including the Commissioner s position. Critics would claim that the Commission had become complacent after the existing board remained in place from 1935 to 1945. • 11. Examples Of Christianity In Frankenstein s Monster Benevolence, charity and justice are values that come to my mind when I think about Christianity but I normally do not think about them when I am describing a monster which is for me stereotypical a horrible, brutal and wretched creature. But how can Frankenstein s Monster, which he creates in the novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in the year 1818, still be a Christian monster? By connecting some of the Monster s qualities with typical Christian qualities, I will argue that this Monster embodies a plurality of Christian qualities, although they do not prevent him from his brutal revenge. Frankenstein s Monster knows a lot about Christianity because it reads Paradise Lost by Milton which records the events of Genesis. Here the creature learned a lesson about man s place in the order of things , as Robert M. Ryan argues (152). After this lecture, Frankenstein s Monster knows that there is a creator, a God who cares about his creatures wellness with benevolence and love. The knowledge of the existence of a God and of Christianity alone does not automatically make the creature a Christian, but it is the basis for him adopting the Christian ideology. The next step on the Creature s way to Christianity is to transfer its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Bishop of Rome or in other words, the Pope, is at the forefront in leading such an expansive religion that extends its influence and borders beyond the Vatican City in Rome. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The euphoria after JFK s victory of Catholic Americans experiencing a positive perspective by the remainder of the country lasted until the 21st century. The biggest setback the church would face regarding their public image was about to unfold. The Boston Globe released an article covering five Roman Catholic priests being prosecuted for child sex abuse. The 2002 article unanimously won a Pulitzer Prize becoming a national scandal that brought many more people to come forward with their allegations of abuse. Roman Catholic diocese across the country quickly learned that this wasn t an isolated issue and began to pay out settlements in the millions towards the vast number of civil lawsuits. The church asserted remorse for the countless priests at fault, estimating the problem was amongst no more than one percent of the 410,000 Roman Catholic priests worldwide. Regardless, the major concern was approximately 80 percent of the cases reported occurred in the United States, while a report by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice indicated 4 percent of priests who served between the years 1950 2002 had allegations made against them. Addressing the issue as an internal matter, matters were taken into the church s hands. Instead of permanently removing priests from their roles, they were moved from one parish to another, remaining in close contact with children. Psychological treatment was given to offending priests, while rarely reporting incidents to the police. The church s defense was priests were allowed to return to duty once psychologists and psychiatrists notified their bishops of their medical assessment, deeming them fit to return and face reassignment. A panel of eight non Catholic psychiatric experts concluded at a 2003 Vatican Conference on Sexual Abuse that the Catholic hierarchy failed to realize the seriousness of the problem, urge to cover up the ... SIP and H323 are two known signalling protocol. SIP was founded by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) while H323 was created by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). However, SIP is the most one used because it is simple to implement and easy to connected. Due to its simple implementation and high popularity, SIP is becoming attractive target for many different attackers. In order to secure SIP against attackers, many security mechanisms have been suggested in the RFC 3261 such as HTTP Digest authentication , TLS, S/MIME. HTPP Digest allow to SIP server to authenticate the client s identity, however it is discovered vulnerable to many attacks, Then other SIP authentication are proposed. For more information about SIP authentication see the survey study. Various attacks can be launched by attackers in SIP environment such as DoS attacks, toll fraud attacks, fishing attacks and SPIT (Spam over IP Telephony). Dos aims to exhaust servers resources (Memory, CPU..) and bandwidth. This attack can be caused by malformed message or by flooding attack. In this work we concentrate on flooding attack. To secure SIP against flooding attacks many works have been done and various approaches have been proposed. • 14. An Appeal In Favor Of That Class Of Americans There were two very clear schools of literary criticism included in this piece. The first school of criticism that can be found in this writing is the historical criticism. Historical criticism considers the time in history in which the text was written and/or in which the text takes place. The time period that Lydia wrote this piece in was directly related to the piece itself. She wrote about what was occurring in history to educate the people of that time along with readers afterwards in order to fully understand what was happening. If the time period were any different I am sure that her pieces would have reflected those moments in time. The second form of literary criticism that can be found here is race and ethnicity criticism. The Delivery On Mother Request Caesarean Delivery on Mother Request University of Mary Fall 2016 Jennifer Escher Caesarean Delivery upon request it is defined as a primary pre labor delivery on the request of the mother in the absence of any maternal or fetal indications. Risks that are potential with a maternal requested delivery will explain that hospital stay is longer, increased risk with respiratory issues with mother and infant, and greater complications for the maternal with other pregnancies. Those complications can include rupture of the uterus, implantation problems with next pregnancy and the need for hysterectomy due to complications of prior caesarean. Potential benefits from a planned caesarean can include decrease in complications from birth, decrease in the risk of hemorrhage and transfusions from blood lost. Fewer complications from surgery and the fetal outcome from respiratory complications is decreased. But it s the way it can change ones relationships that can really hurt one s ability to care. There is a total of 7.442 billion people alive today. Yet only a small portion of that are people one truly cares about. For many people, a specific setting, situation or emotion can alter the way people can think rationally. Everyday Stuart would board the bus and a couple of boys would tease him. I would sit silent and watch. I wish I would ve helped (Marsh/Keltner 3). The Motifs In Pablo Picasso s Guernica There have been countless interpretations of the motifs within Pablo Picasso s Guernica since it was first exhibited in July of 1937 at the Paris International Exposition. Initially, the painting was not well received by critics. It was presumably destined to collect dust at the back of Picasso s studio. However, after the events of the Second World War, the imagery represented within Guernica became painfully familiar. Its macabre elements strongly resonated with people from around the globe, and the appalling atrocities suffered by many communities worldwide became synonymous with both the painting and the town of Geurnica itself. • 18. Cassius Dio s Roles Of The Empire And Augustus Cassius Dio insists the empire and Augustus owe an extraordinary amount to Gaius Maecenas, Marcus Agrippa, and to a lesser extent, Livia. While the empire had problems with stability from time to time, the three of them had their roles in cultivating prosperity. The role of lifelong friend and confidante is attributed to Agrippa, as his loyalty ceased to cultivate throughout the years. The trifecta aided Augustus in ruling and improving the empire, while sporadically corralling the Octavian mindset inside of Augustus. Augustus single handedly appointed Agrippa to settle disputes that arose on the frontier, and in Rome. He was the ultimate plug n play general of the empire, and proved his worth early on until his death in 12 B.C through military ventures and building projects. Gaius Maecenas had a profound impact on Augustus decision to retain the power that he acquired after defeating Marc Antony and Cleopatra, which shaped the government into what eventually existed in Dio s time. He also handled important business in Rome while the emperor was absent, acting as a sit in caesar, if you will. Livia attempted to promote the women of Rome, while also helping Augustus soothe relationships with the latter s enemies. However, mischievous presumptions loom from Dio around Livia regarding certain disastrous events. Nonetheless, without Livia, Maecenas, and especially Agrippa, Octavian might not have ever had the chance to rule Rome. Cassius Dio portrays Marcus Vispanius Agrippa ... • 19. King Kong Analysis A film on how love knows no bounds, where love happens in unexpected ways, Merian C. Cooper Ernest B. Schoedsack s King Kong introduces the element of surprise within the plot that leaves many to feel flabbergasted at the unravelled events. A gorilla worshiped as a god by many, that goes by the name of Kong is inhabiting an unknown island where a film is set to be produced within the movie. Due to the crew s admiration of the gorilla, they offer their star actress Ann Darrow as a sacrifice to appease the beast. However, Kong eventually falls in love with Ann, regardless of their biological differences. On the other hand, Ann already has a human companion by the name of Carl Denham who intends to rescue Ann from the gorilla s grasp rather than to see her disappear forever with Kong. The idea that love between a beast and human seem rather trivial in the eyes of spectators who critique the movie; the plot provides a surprising element to illuminate the fact that the fondness between the individuals are portrayed different from within our usual view of what is normal. In comparison with the 2005 film adaption by director Peter Jackson, I d say that the recent film deviated from the film to create an atmosphere where the audience are made to wait in suspense for each passing scene. Since film director Peter Jackson directed the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, many expected the movie to be an amazing spectacle. The Communist Manifesto left a tremendous impact on a society that was rapidly becoming industrialized, and its effects can even be seen on the dominating economic system of the twenty first century. In the later nineteenth century, however, industrial capitalism was on the brink of ruin. On many occasions during the past century, Marxists have thought that capitalism was down for the count . . . Yet it has always come back with renewed strength. Industrial capitalism succeeded in the face of communism, despite numerous economic disasters. Recent work on follow the perturbed leader (FTPL) algorithms for adversarial multi armed bandit problem has highlighted the role of the hazard rate of the distribution generating the perturbations. Assuming that the hazard rate is bounded allows one to provide regret analyses for a variety of FTPL algorithms for the multi armed bandit problem. This paper pushes the inquiry into regret bounds for FTPL algorithms beyond the bounded hazard rate condition. There are good reasons to do so: natural distributions such as the uniform and Gaussian violate the condition. Having a generic framework for understanding perturbations allows one to study a wide variety of online linear optimization games and a number of interesting perturbations. There has also been some work on understanding perturbation approaches in bandit problems. Kujala and Elomaa (2005) and Poland (2005) both showed that using the exponential (actually double exponential/Laplace) distribution in an FTPL algorithm coupled with standard unbiased estimation techniques yields near optimal O(NT logN) regret in T rounds with N arms. Unbiased estimation needs access to arm probabilities that are not explicitly available when using an FTPL algorithm. Neu and Bart´ok (2013) introduced the geometric resampling scheme to approximate these probabilities while still guaranteeing low regret. Recently, Abernethy et al. (2015) analyzed FTPL for adversarial multi armed bandits and provided regret bounds under the condition that the hazard rate of the perturbation distribution is bounded. This condition allowed them to consider a variety of perturbation distributions beyond the exponential, such as gamma, Gumbel, Frechet, Pareto, and Weibull. Unfortunately, the bounded hazard rate condition is violated by two of the most widely known distributions: namely the uniform1 and the Gaussian distributions. As a result, the ... He instead maintains an off and on relationship with the church, as he is at times wholly devoted to maintaining himself in the manner dictated by the Catholic leadership and at others is as far as can be from what they give as standards of goodness and purity. His conflict with establishment versus individuality culminates in Stephen rejecting the church s teachings in favor of viewing the world through his own eyes, leaving the strictly scripted trappings of traditional religion behind him, a major event in his development from childhood into adulthood. During the band s performance, Oedipa goes to a bathroom and puts on all the clothes she can find. When she looks in the mirror she sees a beach ball with feet and begins laughing. John P. Leland noted, Oedipa is a frontierswoman of sorts, though hers is a frontier where the meaning of meaning the worlds and ours is open to question Oedipa and Metzger eventually have intimate intercourse, with Miles and his band entertaining them outside by the pool. • 41. Living From The World Of Warcraft Living in the World of Warcraft The Rookery is a section of Upper Blackrock Spire that, back in 2005, was notoriously easy to screw up. The room is littered with dragon eggs. Touching an egg causes it to hatch. There are dragons within the Rookery that intentionally hatch eggs as part of an event called Father Flame. If a players group broke one egg, it was likely to break more and in ones group s panic to kill the whelps it hatched, things would get a little chaotic and inevitably a group would break more. The Rookery could be done with no problems at all, but it took either experience or planning. The rise of WoW to the top of the video game industry showed us that living in a virtual world is not so different from living in the real world. one can perform many of the same tasks in life that one can in WoW (barring the monster fighting, flying, and stuff) tasks like fishing, farming, or just performing odd jobs for any Non Player Characters (NPC) that may need it. • 42. Violence And Sexual Abuse Of Stockholm Syndrome And... This is another phrase that many little girls seek comfort in: If a boy picks on you, that means that he actually likes you from a guardian usually. For her to hear this after being bullied destroys her ideas about being treated well by men. It s not that far of a leap between a bratty boy tugging on a little girl s pigtails or pushing her in the playground, to dragging her across the floor by her hair or shoving her out of frustration with enough force to break bones. The parallels are too coinciding to ignore. If this thinking and behaviour is not corrected in youth, it will prosper and grow into something more harmful than a playground scuffle. This makes this damaging wives tale an enforcer of Stockholm syndrome and violence against women. (Jameson, 2011) These kinds of societal beliefs teaches men to treat the women they admire with brutality as an expression of their feelings as well as a sexual object of their desire. It has taught women to accept these acts of violence and sexual abuse as an equivalent for love and compliment. Stockholm syndrome is a defense mechanism of sorts: the abused psychologically creates an affection for the abuser to cope with their life threatening circumstances. [Stockholm syndrome] is proffered as a psychological explanation for the question of why people can be unable or unwilling to leave abusive relationships... [this implies] that the development of a bond between victim and aggressor is the best way to ensure the victim s survival ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conflict resolution sees conflict as an interruption of normal life.ii The idea is to find a solution usually a compromise as quickly as possible. Conflict cannot be avoided, yet how religious leaders speak about and react to the conflict will frame how the community handles conflict that arises. The stories and teachings of the Bible assume that conflict and change are a natural and normal part of individual and community life.iii As leaders, we can be the voice that highlights overlooked insights and methods while acknowledging and affirming the emotions in the conversation and what each person has at stake in the decision making. People cause conflict. We can either further the conflict or squander it with our actions. The conflict that is dealt with, discussed, managed, and resolved can be good. This kind of conflict provides an opportunity for growth and creative change. On the other hand, the conflict that is left unattended and ignored can destroy unity, hinder growth, and render ministry ineffective. Poorly managed situations can lead to increased tension, decreased productivity, and lingering resentments that can last a very long time. • 45. Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It was created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using ethos and pathos to make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona that allows the audience to see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. He tells the story of his pain when he was bullied and how simple name calling left lasting effects on him personally. This not only lets the viewer see that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First part tells the story of the Tallis Family in 1935. The two main characters, Cecilia and Robbie, are in love but Cecilia s younger sister, Briony, does not like the idea of them two being together. They had cousins living with them at the time. One evening the twin cousins went missing and everybody was out searching for them. Briony stumbles across a man who has apparently raped Lola. There were many scenes in this movie that had happened in real life. For example, when the British Army was waiting to evacuate the beaches of Dunkirk, the Germans still continued to attack, which was an accurate detail from the war that was played in this movie. It showed that the Germans were heartless. The battle of Dunkirk was a fight between Germany and the allies. The Germans trapped British and French armies on the beaches of Dunkirk. There were about 330,000 men that were trapped. The beach was unable to allow large boats to get near where the actual men were. Smaller boats were brought in where men boarded on and then soon after got transferred to a larger boat. There were about 800 little ships that were used to save these men that were trapped. Although there were numerous amounts of casualties, the evacuation was a boost for the British and it gave confidence to the allies to keep fighting.
