Tara Fuller s Descent
Descent is the third and newest release in Tara Fuller s Kissed by Death series. Now, I want to
point out that I have never read any of the other books in the series, so believe me when I tell
you that you don t need to in order to enjoy this book. I can also tell you this, after finishing
Descent, I now plan to go back and devour every other bookin the series just to make the world last
a little bit longer.
Since I had not read any of the other books, though they now hold a special place on my TBR
shelf, I had no prior knowledge about the mythology of this world or who any of the characters
were. I didn t find myself fangirling over special cameos because I completely missed out on the
books leading up to this, but it in no way changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He takes souls to their final resting place, and instead of working for Heaven, he works for Hell.
He has been involved in the other two books, but I don t know the extent of that so I couldn t
really get down and dirty with analyzing his character development. But, even in this novel
alone, I could still see the way his character shifted. I did love him, it was sort of hard not to if I
were to be completely honest. I really loved how the book was told through his point of view
along with that of Gwen s, our female protagonist. The contrast between the two of them and
they way the thought about the world was very intriguing and it only made me want more of
what was going on. Being able to peak into his head was a real treat, it gave us some wonderful
insight to the reasons behind his actions and why he chose to work for Hell instead of Heaven.
Gwen, our other main character, is an angel of joy. She brings hope to those in the midst of their
darkest moments. She takes their pain and suffering away by making it her own and giving
them some of her happiness. I also thought reading from her point of view was sort of special. A
lot of the time in Young Adult books, we have a female heroine who is inherently a Mary Sue ,
but Gwen was different. She had to be good, pure, and kind simply because of what she was. She
was an angel for crying out loud, how could she be anything but? But, she also had her own dark
moments,

Analyzing Catron s Stranger In A Strange Land
Catron, Christine R. Stranger In A Strange Land. Magill s Guide To Science Fiction
Fantasy Literature (1996): 1 2. Literary Reference Center. Web. 11 Nov. 2016. The article begins
with a summary on the plot of Stranger in a Strange Land. In the summary, Catron mentions how
Smith is the son of Dr. Mary Jane Lyle Smith and Captain Michael Brunt of who is not Dr. Mary
Jane Lyle Smith s husband. The affair connects back to Smith s inclusion of freedom of sexual
relations in Smith s church by displaying a contrast between the two diverse societies. Another
point Catron mentions in her summary is that Smith understands the full complexity of humans
once Smith laughs at some of the monkeys in a zoo who display cruel actions towards each other.

Another writer who impacts Heinlein s novel is John W. Campbell Jr. due to the similarities
between Campbell s main policy of how technology affects the social economy and Heinlein s
setting of the novel surrounding a society where the discovery of Martians is possible and
eventually affects the way people perceive Earth and people s roles on Earth as well. Catron
explains that because Heinlein s novel presents so many varied ideas, readers may react and
interpret Heinlein s statements differently. However, most do agree that Heinlein seems to
criticize the entire society by especially focusing on religious practices and the roles of
government. In all, this source is not beneficial for the research essay because all of the ideas the
source expresses are in one way or another in other articles thus, not providing significant insight
into Heinlein s Stranger in a Strange Land.

Speech Sounds Octavia Butler Analysis
Octavia Butler, the author of Speech Sounds and many other short stories, is a well known author
for her feminist point of view which might be attributed to her father who died when she was
young and her mother taking on the role as the father figure as well as the mother figure. After the
bus stop, Valerie Rye, the protagonist in this short storywho goes by Rye for a lot of the short story,
met Obsidian who Rye assumes his name to be; also, he used to be a LAPD officer. Rye
immediately trusts Obsidian to drive her to Pasadena to see what is left of her family. In Octavia
Butlers Speech Sounds, the men and women have reverse genderroles throughout this short story
than we are used to because men in our world tend to have more power over women. After the
bus came to a full and complete stop, Rye left the bus and she saw Obsidian who was a big man,
young, nearly bearded with dark thick hair (Butler 409). It was unusual because the Obsidian was
wearing a Los Angeles Police Department uniform even though LAPD had been dismantled many
years ago, and replaced with neighborhood watchmen along with armed men. Police officers, in
today s world, either male or female, are assumed to be indestructible even though we know that
they get hurt some times in their line of work. Also, they are believed to be trustworthy and
dependable for our needs. After Obsidian and Rye were driving in their car and were disturbed by

Moores Law
The number of transistors per square inch on an integrated chip doubles every 18 months
Observation that over the history of computing hardware, the number of transistors in a integrated
chip has doubled every 2 years.
Consequences of Moore s law
1 Because of Moore law the ratio of price to performance of computers has fallen. For example the
price of the standard computing device has fallen from around $4000 to something close to 1c for
the same processor.
2 Because of Moore s law the cost of data communication and data storage is essentially 0.
Because there is basically no price on this technology there are wasteful and harmful aspects of
business applications being developed then deemed useless and wasted.

The Puritans and the Pilgrims: What made the Puritans different?
Many Americans are familiar with the two groups, Puritans and Pilgrims, but most don t know the
differences between them. The Puritans began a group of people that were members of the
Anglican Church. Their goals were to rid the church of any remaining influences from Catholicism.
They were mainly English Protestants of the 16th century who wanted to follow the Calvinist
model of religion rather than the ever present Catholicism. Several Puritans lost faith in the
Anglican Church and felt it could never be completely purified from all Catholic influence; as a
result they abandoned the Church and completely separated themselves from the Anglican religion.
These Puritans where referred to as Separatists. The remaining majority of Puritans inherited the
title of non separating Puritans, over time these two groups would become increasingly hostile
toward each other.
The Puritans wanted to remain a part of the English establishment, and work toward reforming the
church from within. All the while they immigrating to New England, they still held onto their
English heritage, and their main emphasis in forming a new colony was to be a biblical witness
so to say, the city on a hill . Their objective was to set a shining example... Show more content on

Although they still considered themselves English as well, they were determined to form their own
spiritual and political identities. Their faith put more of an emphasis on individual righteousness
before God, instead of the Puritan form, that put more of an emphasis on corporate and community
righteousness. The Puritans were energized as a group by the constant persecution of their faith. As
a result they developed an entire system for defining and explaining their doctrine concerning

How Did Socrates Corrupt Men
Of the three major charges brought against Socrates, corrupting the minds of young men is the most
plausible (Plato, Apology 24c). Both the prosecution and defense had concrete arguments, however,
the arguments put forth by Socrates are simply superior. While at first glance it would appear as
though Socratesis guilty, however, if one looks through his defense following the understanding of
the charges it becomes quite clear that Socrates did not corrupt the minds of young men. Before
approaching Socrates defense, it must be understood that he had no issue angering people by
speaking what he believed to be true. This is seen when he mocked the jurors and most certainly
disdained those that attempted to pander to the emotions of the jurors... Show more content on

The law only serves to punish those that willfully did wrong and that those do not should only be
educated in what is right. In his first defense Socrates claims that It cannot be possible for one to
willingly corrupt his followers for it would eventually be equivalent to bringing harm onto oneself
and no man seeks out self harm. Once Socrates established that he was not willingly corrupting the
young, it becomes evident that either Socrates is not corrupting the young or that he is not
intentionally corrupting them, both cases would make Socrates innocent in the eyes of the law (Plato
, Apology 25d 26a). Although this argument presented by Socrates is sufficient, the defense that
Xenophon claims that Socrates presented sheds light on a difference line of reasoning and
attitude that Socrates possessed during the trial. Socrates knew that men of virtue were inclined
to follow him, he notes to Meletus Doesn t the fact that many of my fellow citizens who aspire
to virtue, and many foreigners as well, choose to associate with me over anyone else strike you as
further proof that my efforts haven t been in vain? (Xenophon, Apology 17). By noting that
individuals that strive for virtue associate with him then conversely Socrates and his teachings
must also be virtuous. If Socrates teaching are virtuous, as it has become apparent, then he cannot
be corrupting the minds of young men. It is important to note that when Socrates made his first
defense he willingly portrays himself in a humble light. While in his second defense he elevates
himself to a position of moral superiority by claiming his virtue. However, regardless of how
Socrates approached his defense, after reviewing both sides it becomes clear that the correct
decisions would be to acquit

Citizenfour Film Analysis
Citizenfour is a documentary film, featuring Edward Snowden and the NSA spying scandal. The
film, directed by Laura Poitras, won many prestigious awards, including Oscar in February 2015.
Laura Poitras, her crew, journalists, including Edward Snowden himself, took a great risk to capture

great piece of modern documentary history. Despite a rising threat and fears during the process of

Food Rewards
The OFC function has been implicated in the devaluation of food rewards by satiety (Gremel and
Costa, 2013). It has been implicated in various cue related behaviors modulated by changes in
expected value. Furthermore, the OFC neurons hold value based information online to guide future
decision making and therefore estimate the likelihood of specific outcomes to guide future
responses (Wilson et al, 2014). Given that the OFC receives significant sensory information, the
OFC likely integrates signals about sensory properties with expected outcomes (Thompson et al,
2017). Thus, the OFC registers the current value of foods and updates actions based on this
information. However, several studies have indicated that obese humans and rats fed a... Show more

Studies show that an inability to shift between habits and goal directed actions (break habits) might
underlie distorted behaviours observed in obsessive compulsive disorder addiction, and other
decision making disorders. Goal directed and habitual actions are controlled by different parts of the
striatum, which lies posterior to the orbitofrontal cortex (Figure 1). Through lever pressing
experiments done on mice, it has been determined that the dorsal medial striatum (DMS) is
necessary for goal directed actions (Thompson et al, 2017), while the dorsal lateral striatum (DLS)
is necessary for habitual actions. The OFC modulate medial striatum through direct projections and
indirectly through connexions with striatal projecting cortical areas, basolateral amygdala and
ventral tegmental/substantia nigra. Through lesions of the lateral OFC, which did not affect
neighbouring cortices, it has been discovered that mice do not reduce lever pressing following
outcome revaluation. Conversely, Sham mice, which are mice used as a control through fake
surgical intervention, shifted between habitual and goal directed actions. OFC lesioned mice
showed intact habitual actions but disrupted goal directed actions. This suggests that the OFC is
critical in modifying outcome value, and that obese mice may have similar disruptions in the OFC,
causing them to eat in a habit like fashion. Overall, it seems that the execution of daily life tasks,
such as transitioning between goal

How Voter s Remember a Candidate s Name
Candidates for the House of Representatives, both incumbents and challengers, work hard to raise
public awareness of their intentions of running for Congress. Trying to inform voters of
themselves is important for candidates to potentially increase their opportunity of election.
However, incumbent candidates may differ from challengers based on the level of knowledge
voters have on each. Such as, if voters are capable of recalling the name of the House candidate,
whether it be the incumbent or the challenger, can demonstrate the voter s knowledge. Furthermore,
voter s capability to recall a name may be affected by how much they care about who wins the
electionfor the House from their congressional district. To determine the relationship between the
ability to recall the names and how much the voters cared about election result, data from a survey
research was drawn to make a comparison between the candidates. Separately comparing the ability
to recall the name of the incumbent and the challenger with how much the respondents cared about
the election results. After testing the suppositions, each chi square test illustrated an asymptotic
significance number of less than .05 (Burns, et al. 2003). This means that the independent and
dependent variables have a significant relationship instead of being a spurious association. The
tested data illustrates that from the people who cared about the election results very much, 26
percent were able to recall the incumbent s name

Li, S., Blatchley, B., College, A.S. (2014). Examining the Effect of Peppermint on Cognitive
Functioning. Psi Chi, The International Honor Society In Psychology, 19 (3), 88 97.
This study speaks about whether or not an alerting odor, such as peppermint, can affect attention
and working memory. Research has been completed previously on the influences of odorants on
cognitive functioning, physiology, behavior, and mood. From earlier research, it was resulted that
a person s atmosphere was affected in either a positive or negative way; depending on the type of
smell they inhaled. If a participant smelled an unpleasant smell, it was determined that the person
would have a negative change in their mood; when the participant would inhale a positive smell,
their mood would change positively.
The study consisted of fifty, female, undergraduate college students. The ethnicities that were use
for this study were African American, European, Asian, Hispanic, biracial, and a very slight
percentage was categorized as other. The experiment would begin at 5:00pm everyday, for four
weeks. One of the three groups was administered each day. The three groups were either

Adam Smith s Economic Philosophy
If I was to create the perfect society today, I would use Adam Smith s economic philosophy. Adam
Smith is known today as a modern philosopher. In order for a society to prosper, Smith believed
that their economy would have to function as a capitalist economy. The perfect, most efficient,
society would include specifically Smith s capitalist ideas of the division of labor, the sufficient pay
of workers, and would not include the use of slavery. These ideas will make the perfect society

The most important component of having the perfect, most efficient society, would be the division
of labor. The division of labor consists of one person doing one small task, another person doing
another small task, and other workers continuing the same process until the final product is
complete. An example of this would be the use of an assembly line while making pins, as Smith
mentions in his book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Smith
explains that the larger pin manufacture he saw with many workers, was more efficient than the
small manufacture of only ten employed workers who could make upwards of forty eight thousand
pins in a day (Smith, 4). Smith then goes on to explain that, But if they had all wrought separately
and independently...in consequence of a proper division and combination of their different
operations (Smith, 4 5). Smith is saying that the workers could have made more than forty eight
thousand pins in a day if they divided there

Wild Style, directed by Charlie Ahearn Essays
Wild Style (1983) was a film that documented the real world of hip hop before most people even
knew what hip hop was. This movie brings about the four crucial elements of hip hop emceeing,
graffiti, break dancing, and deejaying. These features are the backdrop to the story of a graffiti
artist named Raymond who lives in the South Bronx that goes by the name Zoro , who is played
by well known New York graffitiartist Lee Quinones. The movie goes through the tribulations of
his life and relationship with Rose, while showing some of the historical aspects of hip hop.
This movie took place after graffiti had been so staunchly looked down upon. Craig Castleman

It exhibits many famous DJs and groups from that time. Freestyle MCing is shown with rare
footage of one of the godfathers of hip hop, Grandmaster Flash, pulling off an awesome scratch
mix set. During this time it was not uncommon for scenes such as the ones in the movie to occur
in black discos. Robert Ford, Jr. presents this idea in Jive Talking N.Y. DJs RappingAway in Black
Discos , by saying that rapping DJs reminiscent of early r b radio jocks ... are making an
impressive comeback here not in radio but in black discos where a jivey rap commands as much
attention as the hottest new disk (43).
This film also slightly expresses some of the racial segregation in hip hop that goes on during the
time period between African Americans and Puerto Ricans. Juan Flores shows this in Puerto
Rocks: Rap, Roots, and Amnesia when he describes the struggles that Charlie Chase, a member of
the Cold Crush Brothers, goes through due to the fact that he is of Puerto Rican decent when the
rest of the members are all African American(71 78). In the movie, this can be seen when the
members of the Cold Crush Brothers have a street battle with Fantastic Freaks. In this scene one
can tell that there is only one member who is Puerto Rican in both groups and they never speak a
Spanish word in the battle or throughout the movie itself. Flores explains this in Puerto Rocks
when he says that:

Dbq Essay On The 18th Amendment
The 18th Amendment dealt with prohibiting the manufacture, transportation, and sale of alcohol.
This amendment was ratified by the U.S. government and was probably one of the most futile
proposals they could have ever came up with. The 18th amendment should have never been
approved because it just gave Americans an alternative to break the law. Also, the government
itself lost a great deal . Americans would ,in a sense, never give up alcholol, leaving the American
government helpless with no other decision then to repeal the ban. To begin, the 18th amendment
should have never been ratified because it gave Americans that spark of rebellion to break the law.
Americans did not want to listen to the 18th amendment and deliberatley set up discreet locations
just for them to drink alcohol. Document 2 states Many people in the U.S. opposed this
amendment and violated the law by going to places called speakeasies to drink Document 2 also

What can be stated as a welcome relief for the educated traveler might pose real challenges for
the hotel business. To better understand the scenario, it should be noted that hotels are presently
facing severe shortages in occupancy rates which are at their lowest since 1971. Such a crisis and
lack of funds can definitely hamper any efforts to install appliances that comply with the LEEDS
standards (Leadership in Energy Environmental Design). Some experts agree that a trade off may
lead hotels into removing free amenities that include little bottles of shampoos, jams and free

Social Changes In The Industrial Revolution
Society had many social and economic changes throughout the time of the Industrial Revolution
in Great Britain during, 1750 to 1850. The Industrial Revolution is the time at which farming
work changed into factory work and new methods were made. This switch really benefited
Britain. There were many of each change in society, one of the economic changes could be
selling stock, and all the new types of businesses formed . Also new transportation and the
assembly line all are considered economic changes. A social change could be all the new
advanced technology and urbanization. In this time period a big social change would involve all
the new technology. Society could use these new advanced tools to communicate with others.
One invention by Samuel Morse was telegraphs. These telegraphs improved communication by
making it easier to send people messages, they were even in a secret code. Morse code was
eventually named after Samuel Morse. Another change that happened in the beginning of the
change from agriculture to industry is urbanization. This is when the people move from the rural
areas to urban areas. The rural areas are on the countryside like farms, while urban areas are
cities with factories. People left the rural places because there was no longer jobs for them since
the agricultural revolution caused less farmers being needed, also the factories are taking over. The
factories were located in the cities; many people moved here because the factoryowners would need

Why Is Faith Important In The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages in Europe were the time period from about A.D. 500 to 1400. This era has
been viewed as several terms the Dark Ages , the Age of Faith , the Age of Feudalism , and the
Golden Age of Europe. The Middle Ages started with the fall of the Roman Empire, which led to
the growth of feudalism. When the Roman Empire fell, there were many invaders who burned
down the churches and left with captives. During this time, vassals and lord in the system of
feudalism depended on each other. The Roman Catholic Church played a big role as the center of
knowledge during these times. This period in time has influenced modern society. Even though the

In this case, faith is trust in a better society. The Roman Catholic Church was the reason for the
faith the people kept. An excerpt that describes the Middle Ages (From Gray C. Boyce, The
Medieval Period in The 34th Yearbook of the National Council for the Social Studies, 1964, pp.69
70) explains, Even at its worst, it performed the function of guarding, frequently by accident and
chance. This means people were attempting to fix things. The Church even called for a holy
crusade to recapture the Holy Land. That proves their faith, because if they did not believe in a
better future, they would have never tried to improve. The fact that the system of feudalism came
about, meant that people were actually trying to change their current condition, because they had
faith that it would get better. During the medieval era, a known monk, Brother Gerald, took the
vows of purity, chastity, and poverty, in the hope of heaven. His hope of heaven shows that he had
faith, because he did trust something. Just like Brother Gerald, one who has hope, always has faith.
If people did not have faith, they would have never made an attempt to come up with new concepts

The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan
(India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty
over the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his
attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked
on his conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan
and those of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had
not yet transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his
son Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold
in India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital

During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar established dominion over northern and central India, as

Medieval Castle Essay
The Medieval Period lasted from the 10th century to the 17th century; this was the time of castles.
The word castle is derived from the Latin word castellum which means fort. Castles still stand
today as one of the most magnificent structures ever built. Not only are people fascinated with
their grand splendor, but with their luminous presence of authority. Castles were not built for
defense alone; they were symbols of social status, wealth, power, and intimidation. Kings and

the castle would sit at a great table near the end of the hall opposite of any doors to avoid drafts.
Men at arms, guests and other inhabitants would eat on tables that could be removed after the
meal. Meals were very lengthy and consisted of three courses. Apart from bed chambers and the
great hall, the keep contained a chapel and a guard room. In some castles these chapels were
only used by the lord and his family. Decoration and furniture in castle chapels were just as
ornate as any other chapel that was built separate from the castle. (Hull 2) The guard room is
usually located on one of the lower levels of the keep. Knights and their squires would occupy
this room along with the garrison of the castle. Noblemen who lived in the castle required
servants, chamberlains, chaplains, and cooks to assist them in their daily life. The servants would
perform tasks such as cleaning, washing and serving the meals. The chamberlains would control
the events of the great hall while a chaplain would carry out his duties in the chapel, and the cooks
would prepare the meals. The lady of the castle would oversee the lessons of the children and the
household work. Entertainment played a major role in medieval life; castle lords would host

Helicopter Parenting Analysis
Helicopter parenting is when a parent or guardian is overly concerned, and involved in their child s
performance in various activities and their physical well being. As discussed in lecture, this concept
largely stems from the idea that the world has become increasingly dangerous since the parents of
the millennial generation were children and in turn they over compensate by becoming involved in
their children s action and life decisions, both big and small. During this observation I noticed many
insistences of helicopter parenting, the most prominent were the parents in the stands who were

CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN PUBLIC MANAGEMENT
Select one example or issue from the public sectors of a major public policy. Explore in essay how
that current policy problem in government is relevant to and then undercuts the quality of public
service and the operation of key regime values and political character traits
In his book Theories of the Policy Process (2007) Paul Sabatier described the public policymaking
process as follows: problems are conceptualized and brought to government for solution;
governmental institutions formulate alternatives and select policy solutions; and those solutions
get implemented, evaluated, and revised (p. 3). For the purpose of this essay the Social Security and
its financial soundness problem will be considered. The alternative solutions to this problem will
be reviewed. The range of services provided by the Social Security Administration will be reviewed
with an emphasis on quality component of the public service delivery.
The financial soundness of the Social Security system is an important issue which gets frequent
attention from politicians, public servants, citizenry, and media. If the established system would
fail financially at any point in the future, it will significantly undercut the quality of public service
and undermine the trust of citizenry in the existence of the safety net within the country. It is

we assumed that LGAD team are aware of the potential impact of releasing the memo in public and

Benefits Of Multi Method And Longitudinal Methods
5.4Limitations
There are some potential limitations of this study. Firstly, given the qualitative approach was used
in the research, the data was based on the interviewees and observer s subjective social construction.
It helps to understand interviewees experience in specific situation, however, it needs caution when
interpreting the findings and generalizing findings. Observations were employed at the beginning
of data collection. Because of limited time and quantity, it is treated as supplementation of
interviews and provides limited information. Semi structure interviews as major data collection
method rely heavily on the interviewees memory and stories happened at some point before. It
would benefit future study if multi method and longitudinal methods are used.
Secondly, the investigation was based on data from small sample. Eight participants are from the
same university and all of them are postgraduate students. Therefore, the size and the variety of
sample may limit the possibility of generalization.
Thirdly, the traits and behaviours the findings mentioned do not constitute exhausted list.
Demographics and other external elements were less or not discussed. However, it is difficult to
avoid this limitation. An additional quantitative method could be used in future for providing
supplementary insights of larger variables of elements.
Last but not least, as a novice, research may loss some useful information due to unsophisticated
interview skills and research

The Negative Effects Of Advertising
Imagine living in a world with no influences, no deceptions, no inferiorities, and no ideals.
Controlling and manipulative advertisements are creating unrealistic standards for Americans.
Advertising convinces people to buy their products by using a multitude of manipulative ideas:
targeting inferiorities, tearing apart confidence and self image, misrepresenting the benefits of a
product, and most importantly, creating materialistic ideals. As Stephen Leacock said Advertising:
the science of arresting the human intelligence long enough to get money from it. The materialistic,
self demeaning, and misleading ways of today s society is why advertising has a profoundly
negative effect on American culture.

These tragedies would not happen if advertisements truly had no impact on people, and if protecting
people from negative influences and demeaning messages over ruled the importance of marketing.
Undoubtedly, advertisements are important for marketing products because without them, we
would lack education about important issues, new products, and health awareness. Advertising is
how businesses spread the word to customers and other competitors, which creates innovation.
Marketing products also gives us choices of products and it allows companies to compete with who
provides better deals and lowest prices. Although there is a plethora of benefits to marketing
advertisements, the demeaning subliminal messages and negative influences on lifestyles definitely
outweigh the perks. Advertisement appeals are targeting sex and violence, making it more
acceptable for the youth, even if the product has no concern in the subject. (Suggett, Paul. 24 Jan.

people in this culture. Nevertheless, it proselytizes people to idealize these values, instead of
staying true to themselves and their ideologies. Marketing and free internet advertisements provide

The And Glass Ceiling Is Real
2017 And Glass Ceiling Is Real
In the United States of America, men seem to want full control. Corporations, organizations,
schools even religions have been created by men and for men and they have great opposition to
women infiltrating their management positions. Men have created glass ceilings for women in the
workplace. A glass ceilingis an artificial barrier that allows women to see the top of the corporate
ladder, but at the same time denies them access to the higher rungs of that ladder. Women keep
hitting their heads on the glass ceiling until they develop so many knots on their heads that
eventually they give up on their goals and ambitions Do men Know better?

Women do most of the invisible work in Corporate America. If this work were made visible, men
in Corporate America would not receive all the glory for the jobs they have. As you see, educational
attainment is a key ingredient to shattering the glass.
Women are beginning to see that the best way to get to the top of any type of business is to
create their own business. In women owned businesses today, the women seem to accept any
business background shortcomings and seek education and training before they take the leap.
Women try to base their decisions on logic and on sound business decisions. They do not seem to
shoot from the hip the way many men do in the business world. In corporations that have dared to
hire today s businesswoman, it seems these women officials are easier to work with in a consensus
team building environment. Women tend to offer higher wages to their employees and fight for
better benefits for them as well. Women know the need for flexible hours, childcare, and better
insurance. All in all, it seems that women understand the problems of their employees. They work
hard to be number one and in turn make their employees feel like they are number one to them.
In most corporations today, the glass ceiling goes unnoticed and certainly unquestioned.
Corporations boast of being a great place for women to work, but women are always middle

Wilfred Nietzsche s Influence On Religion

Friedrich Nietzsche
Should society trust a man who claimed to be Jesus, Alexander the Great among other deities and
historical figures? Despite suffering from madness when claiming these identities, Friedrich
Wilhelm Nietzsche s works inspire many historical leaders and present day scholars including
Stalin, Hitler, and Mussolini. A 19th century German philosopher, he followed the beliefs of
atheism, moral skepticism, and relativism. Throughout his books he mocked Christianity while
promoting his own beliefs of morality, man reaching its potential, and society s killing of God
(Mastin).
On October 15, 1844, Nietzsche came into the world within the town of Röcken bei Lützen,

...The secret for harvesting from existence the greatest fruitfulness and greatest enjoyment is to

of doing what he perceived Christianity taught, to refuse and escape troubles (Mastin). ...Every
specific body strives to become master over all space and to extend its force (The Will to Power

as the basis drive in human behavior and as a positive device. Within his philosophy, Nietzsche
believed one could become an Гњbermensch, or a superhuman. For one to become this
superhuman, one must adhere to Nietzsche s own values. An Гњbermensch would be beyond
pleasure and suffering, have total freedom, and have no need for God. This creation of Nietzsche

Literary Analysis Of Absalom And Achiophel By John Dryden
Absalom and Achiophel : the wondrous satirical poem written by John Dryden himself which
features the many different ways of inviting humorous and satirical aspects of the Popish plot to
light. George Villiers, the second duke of Buckingham, was no exception for Dryden. So much so
that the footnotes of the couplets involving George even states that the section on George was The
least political of the satirical portraits in the poem (Noggle, 2226). Claiming that George Villiers, in
Dryden s eyes, was not fit to be a leader in the Popish plotwas an extreme understatement as he
painted an overwhelmingly satirical image of how George was not only incapable of making an
impact in the Popish plot, but is upright a fool to society. Dryden, in the process of painting this
satirical imagery, also uses George as an example of showing consequentialism in action.
In Absalom and AchitophelDryden begins with writing how George Villier only positive
credential of being part of the popish plot is that he comes from his royalty in Buckingham as
his other credentials lack in uniqueness when compared to the other members of society. He
eludes that George Villier became a chief of the Popish plot because he was one of the princes of
the land (543). Ironically, however, this is followed up by Dryden describing him as A man so
various, that he seemed to be / Not one, but all mankind s epitome (545 546). Claiming him to be a
chief in this context is ironic in the sense that he

Modern Day Korean Culture
Korean culture is comprised of a multitude of societal changes that have amounted and transformed
throughout the years. Beginning five thousand years ago Korea has slowly evolved into a cultural
haven. Music, dance, painting, food, fashion, arts, games, karate, family life, theater, religion and
beliefs are just a few components that make up modern day Korean culture. Korean cuisineis one of
the most unifying of all of these cultural factors. The food in Korea is one of the defining elements
of Koreans culture because of its historical background, environmental affinities, long lasting
creative techniques and recipes, and use in traditional ceremonies and festivals. Modern day cuisine
in Korea is quite progressed from what it once started... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The exchange of food boded well for all countries involved. New cultural foods were being shown
to Korea that they had never before seen. Not only did trade with other countries introduce a
variety of new foods to Korea, Western missionaries traveling through Korea also proved to be a
huge component in cultural cuisine exchange.
After the fall of Joseon Dynasty, there was a thirty six year period of colonization by the
government of Japan. With Japan in power, the adoption of many Japanese cultural ways,
including agricultural techniques and systems, was inevitable. Some of these new techniques
involved combining smaller farms into large scale farms to help yield a larger amount of crops,
which would be exported to Japan. The problem was that although crop production, especially
rice production, was increasing most of these crops were being shipped out of the country. To make
up for this loss, Koreans also began to increase the production of grains such as millet and barley
for Korean use only. Under Japanese control, the way meals were eaten and served also changed
Korean s lives. Koreans began to eat only two meals a day during cold season and three a day
during warm seasons. The meals became very repetitive with little variation on a day to day basis.
The lower levels of society would share a single bowl of white rice and the rest of their meals were

Comparing Leslie In California, By Andre Dubus
Why is life so hard? What do we do to deserve these things that happen to us? No one deserves to
be hurt physically, mentally, or emotionally in life. Whether it s good or bad, life is going to
happen. In the stories, Leslie in California, written by Andre Dubus, and The Story of an Hour,
written by Kate Chopin, the characters in the stories are alike in some ways. Both Dubus and
Chopin are an example of someone who didn t deserve what life threw at them. According to
TheFamousPeople website, Dubus was married three times and had six children. He had four
by his first wife, Patricia Lowe, and two by his last wife, Peggy Rambach. As for Chopin, she
was the only one of her four siblings that lived past the age of twenty five. They both hit a rough
patch in their lives at a young age. According to TheFamousPeople website, Andre Dubus
enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps upon his graduation and served there for six years, eventually
rising to the rank of captain. Dubus was obviously going in the right direction with his life. To
many people, Dubus at the time was considered a hero. According to the CliffsNotes website,
Chopin grew up in a household dominated by women: her mother, great grandmother, and the
female slaves her mother owned. On the CliffsNotes website it says, Kate was born with the last
name O Flaherty. She married Oscar Chopin in 1870, and he died in 1882. Which made her a
widow who had to look after six kids. On TheFamousPeople website it also says, In July

Hamlet s Relationship Between Hamlet And Ophelia
The observed and I, of ladies most deject and wretched, that sucked the honey of his music vows,
now see that noble and most sovereign reason, like sweet bells jangled, out of tune and harsh;
that unmatched form and feature of blown youth blasted with ecstasy; o woe is me, to have
seen what I have seen, see what I see! (2671 2672). The general love and relationship that was
administered between Prince Hamlet and Ophelia were not only complicated but problematic.
Throughout the play, the reader gains a deeper insight into their overall involvement and what
lead to the total turmoil of their love. Arguably, it might be perceived by the reader if Prince
Hamlet even loved Ophelia or if she was only a part of his mind games. Furthermore, the
heightened debate of their relationship can be strengthened either way by numerous opinions,
but I believe far in Prince Hamlet s twisted mind he cherished and loved Ophelia. Throughout the
play of Hamlet, there is an emerging of events that occur within Ophelia. She believed she would
marry Prince Hamlet even though her father and brother advised her to stay away from him
because they knew she was not worthy and that Prince Hamlet would only a predicament in her
life. Laertes stated, Hamlet might love you now, he is subject to his birth (2640). Her brother
also told her before he left for school, Fear it, Ophelia; fear it, my dear sister, and keep you in the
rear of your affection, out of the shot and danger of desire. The chariest maid is prodigal enough,
if she unmask her beauty to the moon. Virtue itself scapes not calumnious strokes. The canker
galls the infants of the spring too oft before their buttons be disclosed, and in the morn and
liquid dew of youth, contagious blastments are most imminent. Be wary then, best safety lies in
fear. Youth to itself rebels, though none else near (2640 2641). During Laertes speech to
Ophelia, he instructed her not to give herself away to Prince Hamlet because no one would seek
her anymore, as she would be viewed as used goods. The reader can sense a form of
foreshadowing in the play with the domination of men in Ophelia s life affecting how she handled
her various situations with Prince Hamlet. Later, Ophelia is indeed worked by

The Effect Of Jazz s Effect On American Culture
In this essay I will be discussing the effect that jazz had on American culture from the time of its
birth up until 1960. I will begin my essay by discussing how American culture and American music
was before jazz came about. Before Jazz came about the music and ways of American culture was
much different. I will then discus the birth of jazzand how it all began. Jazz had a major effect on
the American culture which I will be demonstrating in my essay. Jazz developed and spread
throughout the years, and I will be explaining what effect this had on American culture. The second
decade of the 20th century was a decade full of dramatic changes for American culture. Some

The birth and development of Jazz was a revolution of culture that improved racial relations.
Slavery was long abolished by the time of jazz but the racism still remained. As Jazz music was
associated strongly with African Americans this made it hard for extremely talented African
American musicians to make it in the music industry. . Edward Ellington was another major
influential character in the development of swing music at this time. Ellington was an incredible
pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader of jazz orchestras. Ellington was a band leader for a

incredible composer when his radio appearance was cancelled because advertisers did not want to

Essay on Iron Cage
In chapter one of The Iron Cage, Rashid Khalidi sets the stage for the premise of his book, by
examining the conflicting evidence of the Palestinians plight. In order to do so, the narrative
begins in 1948, following the eviction of more than half of the Arab Palestinian population as a
result of the Arab Israelconflict of that year. Khalidi goes on to enumerate a few of the respective
differing Arab and Israel accounts of how it was that a people that once constituted the majority of
the population of a land, became the minority. Revisionist Israeli historians have attempted to
debunk traditional accounts that absolve Israel of any wrongdoing, such as the notion that

Eventually, even al Husayni could not ignore the disaffection of the situation, and he too dissented,
by joining the ranks of dissidents opposing the British backed Zionist regime.
Khalidi appropriately begins chapter three, by picking up where chapter two left off highlighting
the infectiveness of the Palestinian leadership. Early on in the chapter, the importance of
factionalism within the leadership takes precedence, and the two prominent groups of the time are
denoted: al Husayni and al Nashashibi. Khalidi goes onto give background on the two competing
factions, and the reader learns that both parties had previous ties to the ruling political apparatus of
the former Ottoman Empire. Unabashedly, both parties vied for power, because of their inherent
belief of superiority to that of the average Palestinian. Playing right into the British and Zionist
hands, the divide can conquer technique of pinning the leadership against each other, denied an
effective campaign to be waged that could counter the status quo.
Safe to say, the leaders of the Palestinian opposition were riddled by bribes and back room deals,
which essentially made them quintessential puppets that could easily be controlled. Furthermore,
Palestinian leadership largely functioned under a modus operandi, based upon wishful thinking,
believing the British/Zionist movement would suddenly come to its senses and return the land to
Palestinians. The failure of the

The painting has human like figures melting in sickly yellow green piles. These figures are
hanging off railings and tables, with one large pile gathered around a waitress serving drinks.
The top third of the painting shows a man preparing drinks behind the bar as two patrons yell at
him. This lends the painting a very bottom heavy apperence. Both the waitress and the bartender
are painted in a subdued yellow with exhausted looks on their faces. This painting is showing the
audience that this group of people have spoiled each other and become a rotting mess of lewd
behavior. That people who weren t intoxicated wouldn t be so rude and inappropriate to each
other, the figures are pulling other s shirts and vomiting on each other. However, the wait staff
contrasts this, they are shown in almost heavenly way. The bartender is shown in a warmly lit
background with bottles that are serene and beautiful looking. Especially when compared to the
green figures on the floor, some of which are hanging on to the railing, trying to get to the bar.
This could lead the audience to believe that bar and wait staff are considered pure in a room of

The Day Vesuvius Spoke
Jupiter was not pleased for Vesuvius had awakened after centuries of fuming quietly and
mustering it s strength to one day expel all of its anger that lie dormant beneath the surface.
Mount Vesuvius showered us in rage. Clouds of darkness barreled in and crowded the sky, ash
rained from the heavens, and fire engulfed the city. A day such as this could only be described as
Hell on Earth. For most, this was the beginning of the end.
I was awakened by the violent shake of our house and the smell of smoke that hung in the air
nearly suffocating me. Horror stricken I raced out of bed to the window to see everything
covered in ash and the only thing I could hear were the shrill screams and cries of my neighbors.
I made my way into the atrium only to find my mother weeping into her hands. I haven t seen her
so distraught since the day Papa died; her hair was disheveled, she was still in her night clothing,
and there was no sign of breakfast anywhere. Mother, what is it? I began to panic for fear of what
she might say and with every moment of silence that passed fear filled my heart and tears began to
form. It is Vesuvius, he has been disturbed. The Gods are not pleased with our people we all shall
soon perish. Emperor Titus has fled to a land in the far east and left us defenseless. Her face was
white and her eyes appeared as though she had spent all morning grieving the inevitable. Before I
could speak there was a knock at the door.

  • 2. Tara Fuller s Descent Descent is the third and newest release in Tara Fuller s Kissed by Death series. Now, I want to point out that I have never read any of the other books in the series, so believe me when I tell you that you don t need to in order to enjoy this book. I can also tell you this, after finishing Descent, I now plan to go back and devour every other bookin the series just to make the world last a little bit longer. Since I had not read any of the other books, though they now hold a special place on my TBR shelf, I had no prior knowledge about the mythology of this world or who any of the characters were. I didn t find myself fangirling over special cameos because I completely missed out on the books leading up to this, but it in no way changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He takes souls to their final resting place, and instead of working for Heaven, he works for Hell. He has been involved in the other two books, but I don t know the extent of that so I couldn t really get down and dirty with analyzing his character development. But, even in this novel alone, I could still see the way his character shifted. I did love him, it was sort of hard not to if I were to be completely honest. I really loved how the book was told through his point of view along with that of Gwen s, our female protagonist. The contrast between the two of them and they way the thought about the world was very intriguing and it only made me want more of what was going on. Being able to peak into his head was a real treat, it gave us some wonderful insight to the reasons behind his actions and why he chose to work for Hell instead of Heaven. Gwen, our other main character, is an angel of joy. She brings hope to those in the midst of their darkest moments. She takes their pain and suffering away by making it her own and giving them some of her happiness. I also thought reading from her point of view was sort of special. A lot of the time in Young Adult books, we have a female heroine who is inherently a Mary Sue , but Gwen was different. She had to be good, pure, and kind simply because of what she was. She was an angel for crying out loud, how could she be anything but? But, she also had her own dark moments, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the summary, Catron mentions how Smith is the son of Dr. Mary Jane Lyle Smith and Captain Michael Brunt of who is not Dr. Mary Jane Lyle Smith s husband. The affair connects back to Smith s inclusion of freedom of sexual relations in Smith s church by displaying a contrast between the two diverse societies. Another point Catron mentions in her summary is that Smith understands the full complexity of humans once Smith laughs at some of the monkeys in a zoo who display cruel actions towards each other. Smith considers the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another writer who impacts Heinlein s novel is John W. Campbell Jr. due to the similarities between Campbell s main policy of how technology affects the social economy and Heinlein s setting of the novel surrounding a society where the discovery of Martians is possible and eventually affects the way people perceive Earth and people s roles on Earth as well. Catron explains that because Heinlein s novel presents so many varied ideas, readers may react and interpret Heinlein s statements differently. However, most do agree that Heinlein seems to criticize the entire society by especially focusing on religious practices and the roles of government. In all, this source is not beneficial for the research essay because all of the ideas the source expresses are in one way or another in other articles thus, not providing significant insight into Heinlein s Stranger in a Strange Land. • 4. Speech Sounds Octavia Butler Analysis Octavia Butler, the author of Speech Sounds and many other short stories, is a well known author for her feminist point of view which might be attributed to her father who died when she was young and her mother taking on the role as the father figure as well as the mother figure. After the bus stop, Valerie Rye, the protagonist in this short storywho goes by Rye for a lot of the short story, met Obsidian who Rye assumes his name to be; also, he used to be a LAPD officer. Rye immediately trusts Obsidian to drive her to Pasadena to see what is left of her family. In Octavia Butlers Speech Sounds, the men and women have reverse genderroles throughout this short story than we are used to because men in our world tend to have more power over women. After the bus came to a full and complete stop, Rye left the bus and she saw Obsidian who was a big man, young, nearly bearded with dark thick hair (Butler 409). It was unusual because the Obsidian was wearing a Los Angeles Police Department uniform even though LAPD had been dismantled many years ago, and replaced with neighborhood watchmen along with armed men. Police officers, in today s world, either male or female, are assumed to be indestructible even though we know that they get hurt some times in their line of work. Also, they are believed to be trustworthy and dependable for our needs. After Obsidian and Rye were driving in their car and were disturbed by the un named man and woman who ran out of a ... • 9. Puritans And The Pilgrims Research Paper Eric Swain Professor Wells HIS 121 9 August 2014 The Puritans and the Pilgrims: What made the Puritans different? Many Americans are familiar with the two groups, Puritans and Pilgrims, but most don t know the differences between them. The Puritans began a group of people that were members of the Anglican Church. Their goals were to rid the church of any remaining influences from Catholicism. They were mainly English Protestants of the 16th century who wanted to follow the Calvinist model of religion rather than the ever present Catholicism. Several Puritans lost faith in the Anglican Church and felt it could never be completely purified from all Catholic influence; as a result they abandoned the Church and completely separated themselves from the Anglican religion. These Puritans where referred to as Separatists. The remaining majority of Puritans inherited the title of non separating Puritans, over time these two groups would become increasingly hostile toward each other. The Puritans wanted to remain a part of the English establishment, and work toward reforming the church from within. All the while they immigrating to New England, they still held onto their English heritage, and their main emphasis in forming a new colony was to be a biblical witness so to say, the city on a hill . Their objective was to set a shining example... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. How Did Socrates Corrupt Men Of the three major charges brought against Socrates, corrupting the minds of young men is the most plausible (Plato, Apology 24c). Both the prosecution and defense had concrete arguments, however, the arguments put forth by Socrates are simply superior. While at first glance it would appear as though Socratesis guilty, however, if one looks through his defense following the understanding of the charges it becomes quite clear that Socrates did not corrupt the minds of young men. Before approaching Socrates defense, it must be understood that he had no issue angering people by speaking what he believed to be true. This is seen when he mocked the jurors and most certainly disdained those that attempted to pander to the emotions of the jurors... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The law only serves to punish those that willfully did wrong and that those do not should only be educated in what is right. In his first defense Socrates claims that It cannot be possible for one to willingly corrupt his followers for it would eventually be equivalent to bringing harm onto oneself and no man seeks out self harm. Once Socrates established that he was not willingly corrupting the young, it becomes evident that either Socrates is not corrupting the young or that he is not intentionally corrupting them, both cases would make Socrates innocent in the eyes of the law (Plato , Apology 25d 26a). Although this argument presented by Socrates is sufficient, the defense that Xenophon claims that Socrates presented sheds light on a difference line of reasoning and attitude that Socrates possessed during the trial. Socrates knew that men of virtue were inclined to follow him, he notes to Meletus Doesn t the fact that many of my fellow citizens who aspire to virtue, and many foreigners as well, choose to associate with me over anyone else strike you as further proof that my efforts haven t been in vain? (Xenophon, Apology 17). By noting that individuals that strive for virtue associate with him then conversely Socrates and his teachings must also be virtuous. If Socrates teaching are virtuous, as it has become apparent, then he cannot be corrupting the minds of young men. It is important to note that when Socrates made his first defense he willingly portrays himself in a humble light. While in his second defense he elevates himself to a position of moral superiority by claiming his virtue. However, regardless of how Socrates approached his defense, after reviewing both sides it becomes clear that the correct decisions would be to acquit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Food Rewards The OFC function has been implicated in the devaluation of food rewards by satiety (Gremel and Costa, 2013). It has been implicated in various cue related behaviors modulated by changes in expected value. Furthermore, the OFC neurons hold value based information online to guide future decision making and therefore estimate the likelihood of specific outcomes to guide future responses (Wilson et al, 2014). Given that the OFC receives significant sensory information, the OFC likely integrates signals about sensory properties with expected outcomes (Thompson et al, 2017). Thus, the OFC registers the current value of foods and updates actions based on this information. However, several studies have indicated that obese humans and rats fed a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studies show that an inability to shift between habits and goal directed actions (break habits) might underlie distorted behaviours observed in obsessive compulsive disorder addiction, and other decision making disorders. Goal directed and habitual actions are controlled by different parts of the striatum, which lies posterior to the orbitofrontal cortex (Figure 1). Through lever pressing experiments done on mice, it has been determined that the dorsal medial striatum (DMS) is necessary for goal directed actions (Thompson et al, 2017), while the dorsal lateral striatum (DLS) is necessary for habitual actions. The OFC modulate medial striatum through direct projections and indirectly through connexions with striatal projecting cortical areas, basolateral amygdala and ventral tegmental/substantia nigra. Through lesions of the lateral OFC, which did not affect neighbouring cortices, it has been discovered that mice do not reduce lever pressing following outcome revaluation. Conversely, Sham mice, which are mice used as a control through fake surgical intervention, shifted between habitual and goal directed actions. OFC lesioned mice showed intact habitual actions but disrupted goal directed actions. This suggests that the OFC is critical in modifying outcome value, and that obese mice may have similar disruptions in the OFC, causing them to eat in a habit like fashion. Overall, it seems that the execution of daily life tasks, such as transitioning between goal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. How Voter s Remember a Candidate s Name Candidates for the House of Representatives, both incumbents and challengers, work hard to raise public awareness of their intentions of running for Congress. Trying to inform voters of themselves is important for candidates to potentially increase their opportunity of election. However, incumbent candidates may differ from challengers based on the level of knowledge voters have on each. Such as, if voters are capable of recalling the name of the House candidate, whether it be the incumbent or the challenger, can demonstrate the voter s knowledge. Furthermore, voter s capability to recall a name may be affected by how much they care about who wins the electionfor the House from their congressional district. To determine the relationship between the ability to recall the names and how much the voters cared about election result, data from a survey research was drawn to make a comparison between the candidates. Separately comparing the ability to recall the name of the incumbent and the challenger with how much the respondents cared about the election results. After testing the suppositions, each chi square test illustrated an asymptotic significance number of less than .05 (Burns, et al. 2003). This means that the independent and dependent variables have a significant relationship instead of being a spurious association. The tested data illustrates that from the people who cared about the election results very much, 26 percent were able to recall the incumbent s name ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Adam Smith s Economic Philosophy If I was to create the perfect society today, I would use Adam Smith s economic philosophy. Adam Smith is known today as a modern philosopher. In order for a society to prosper, Smith believed that their economy would have to function as a capitalist economy. The perfect, most efficient, society would include specifically Smith s capitalist ideas of the division of labor, the sufficient pay of workers, and would not include the use of slavery. These ideas will make the perfect society prosper. The most important component of having the perfect, most efficient society, would be the division of labor. The division of labor consists of one person doing one small task, another person doing another small task, and other workers continuing the same process until the final product is complete. An example of this would be the use of an assembly line while making pins, as Smith mentions in his book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Smith explains that the larger pin manufacture he saw with many workers, was more efficient than the small manufacture of only ten employed workers who could make upwards of forty eight thousand pins in a day (Smith, 4). Smith then goes on to explain that, But if they had all wrought separately and independently...in consequence of a proper division and combination of their different operations (Smith, 4 5). This means people were attempting to fix things. The Church even called for a holy crusade to recapture the Holy Land. That proves their faith, because if they did not believe in a better future, they would have never tried to improve. Our BATNA was wining in court which will lead to make no changes in the policy and probably will prevent any future conflicts with LGAD, but in looking on the worst case scenario, we assumed that LGAD team are aware of the potential impact of releasing the memo in public and plan use it as a strong barging tool. Therefore, shifting the case to a discussion in court wasn t ideal solution, a fact that made us agree that we have more to lose in court than LGAD. In terms of power, we understood that LGAD will have the power to say no and lead the case into court. On the other end, DHS had last power because our BATNA was weaker than LGAD s BATNA . • 39. Benefits Of Multi Method And Longitudinal Methods 5.4Limitations There are some potential limitations of this study. Firstly, given the qualitative approach was used in the research, the data was based on the interviewees and observer s subjective social construction. It helps to understand interviewees experience in specific situation, however, it needs caution when interpreting the findings and generalizing findings. Observations were employed at the beginning of data collection. Because of limited time and quantity, it is treated as supplementation of interviews and provides limited information. Semi structure interviews as major data collection method rely heavily on the interviewees memory and stories happened at some point before. It would benefit future study if multi method and longitudinal methods are used. Secondly, the investigation was based on data from small sample. Eight participants are from the same university and all of them are postgraduate students. Therefore, the size and the variety of sample may limit the possibility of generalization. Thirdly, the traits and behaviours the findings mentioned do not constitute exhausted list. Demographics and other external elements were less or not discussed. However, it is difficult to avoid this limitation. An additional quantitative method could be used in future for providing supplementary insights of larger variables of elements. Last but not least, as a novice, research may loss some useful information due to unsophisticated interview skills and research ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three hours later, the police returned to her home and forcibly raided Mapp s house without a warrant, and found their search to be futile. Advertising convinces people to buy their products by using a multitude of manipulative ideas: targeting inferiorities, tearing apart confidence and self image, misrepresenting the benefits of a product, and most importantly, creating materialistic ideals. • 44. Literary Analysis Of Absalom And Achiophel By John Dryden Absalom and Achiophel : the wondrous satirical poem written by John Dryden himself which features the many different ways of inviting humorous and satirical aspects of the Popish plot to light. George Villiers, the second duke of Buckingham, was no exception for Dryden. So much so that the footnotes of the couplets involving George even states that the section on George was The least political of the satirical portraits in the poem (Noggle, 2226). Claiming that George Villiers, in Dryden s eyes, was not fit to be a leader in the Popish plotwas an extreme understatement as he painted an overwhelmingly satirical image of how George was not only incapable of making an impact in the Popish plot, but is upright a fool to society. Dryden, in the process of painting this satirical imagery, also uses George as an example of showing consequentialism in action. In Absalom and AchitophelDryden begins with writing how George Villier only positive credential of being part of the popish plot is that he comes from his royalty in Buckingham as his other credentials lack in uniqueness when compared to the other members of society. He eludes that George Villier became a chief of the Popish plot because he was one of the princes of the land (543). After the fall of Joseon Dynasty, there was a thirty six year period of colonization by the government of Japan. With Japan in power, the adoption of many Japanese cultural ways, including agricultural techniques and systems, was inevitable. Some of these new techniques involved combining smaller farms into large scale farms to help yield a larger amount of crops, which would be exported to Japan. The problem was that although crop production, especially rice production, was increasing most of these crops were being shipped out of the country. To make up for this loss, Koreans also began to increase the production of grains such as millet and barley for Korean use only.
