The Effects Of Anabolic Steroids
In ancient Greece, the greeks use steroids to increase their speed and strength. (Aschwanden) They
consumed them by drinks, potions, and also by eating sheep and bull testis in mass quantities. Steroids
started in 1930 s for men who did not have enough testosterone (Anabolic Steroids). They were just
created for normal growth, development and sexual function. This steroid that was created in 1930 s
was also used in World War II to help the soldiers gain weight and improve their performance on the
battleground. (Anabolic Steroids) Later an American physician named Dr. Zeigler created anabolic
steroids and released them in the United States in 1958. After he created this drug athletes around the

The Right Of Free Speech
Throughout American history, the foundation on which American democratic principles are based, has
been repeatedly tested. In the 1700s, the right of free speech was challenged when President John
Adams proposed the Alien and Sedition Acts. Adams attempted to stop the Democratic Republicans
such as Thomas Jefferson, from criticizing government decisions. Similarly, during the Civil War
President Abraham Lincoln challenged freedom of the press when he took action to restrict the
printing of military news. Lincoln ordered his generals in the field to control the press and crack down
on speech critical of his administration to limit dissent against the war effort. However, one historical
era stands out as a decidedly pivotal test of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Twentieth century U.S. history saw two major episodes of repression and violence against communists
and leftist radicals, that occurred approximately three decades apart. During the early part of the
1920s, America entered its first period of extreme anti communist sentiment, the First Red Scare.
After the successful Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917, American citizens began to fear the
threat of communist influence at home. At the end of WWI, American workers unhappy with wages
and spiralling inflation, launched widespread sometimes violent strikes with the support of growing
labor unions. Some of these unions called for government takeover of private industries. For instance,
railroad workers called for the national government to take permanent control of the railroad system.
The growing waves strikes signalled a period of extreme civil unrest; American citizens became
frightened that they would face a revolution similar to the one that had just taken place in Russia. In
response, Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, in an effort to gain the attention of American voters to
support his presidential aspirations, launched a nationwide crusade against anyone he identified as
having leftist views. Under Palmer s leadership, thousands of Americans were arrested for taking part
in alleged subversion, and thousands of others were stripped of their civil liberties. In violation of

Alcohol Anonymous Research
Today, alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance in the United States (NCADD Staff,
2017). According to the National Council on Alcohol Drug and Dependance, 17.6 million people, or
one in every 12 adults, suffer from alcohol abuse or dependence (NCADD Staff, 2017). To cope with
this mass issue, several self help programs has evolved. Perhaps the most well known and most
accepted program is AA. AA stands for Alcohol Anonymous. This global program is designed for men
and women who have problems with drinking alcohol, alcohol abuse or dependence. The association
is accepting of all individuals regardless of age, race or other distinguishing factors, and hopes to help
those who wish to resolve their drinking issues.

For instance, the program may not be as effective for women because the model does not emphasize
empowerment (Traylor, 2015). Furthermore, the program is not equipped for everyone s needs. Some
individuals may need therapy and/or medical treatment, such as detox which AA cannot provide
(Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Moreover, because the program emphasizes the reliance on a higher
power it can cause individuals to believe they are powerless to change without the higher power
(Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Next, the anonymity of AA has led some member to abuse other
members (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Since members are subjected to a policy to protects people
s identity, many women have confessed to being sexually abused during or after a meeting. In fact,
this issue has caused the program to eliminate the thirteenth step of the program: sponsoring
(Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Besides this, many are subjected to AA as a result of court order.
Hence, the members are not truly willing to recover. Thus, prohibiting the growth of the other
members. Not to mention, AA can cause influential people to become involved with the wrong crowd.
Since the program is community based, participants are surrounded by those who may also be
addicted to drugs. Hence, a young or influential person may get involved with drugs through the group
setting (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017).In other words, AA can influence peer pressure.

Hyperkalaemia And Depolariization Of Potassium
Potassium is a necessary intracellular ion, found in each cell membrane, playing a vital role in the
normal functioning of nerve and muscle cells. It is crucial for proper fluid balance in the body by
countering the effect of sodium and creates an electrical charge across the cell membrane. This is
important as it allows nerves to conduct electrical impulses to communicate between muscles and
cells to contract. A majority is found inside muscle tissue, and the balance between sodium and
potassium ions is crucial to maintain an electrical gradient which works to transport substances in/out
the cell and transmit nerve signals which consequently trigger muscle contractions.
When this balance is disrupted, the functioning of muscles is drastically affected.
An excess amount of potassium can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typically, the kidneys can maintain blood potassium within a health range, excreting extra when
necessary. But when one cannot efficiently eliminate excess potassium, hyperkalemia occurs.
Hyperkalaemia can result in depolarization of membrane potentials of nerve and muscle cells, due to
the increased equilibrium potential of potassium. This impairs the normal process of depolarization;
the depolarization of the membrane potentials opens several voltage gated sodium channels; however
it elevates the inactivation process. Depolarization is slowed due to the concentration changes, which
means an action potential is not generated; the process of accommodation occurs instead. This is when
nerve cells adjusts slowly to a slowly increasing stimulus so that its threshold of excitation of greater

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising In The Holocaust
Uprising in the Ghetto The Holocaust is a very known event. The Holocaust was the genocide of Jews
by the German Nazi Party. The Holocaust lasted from 1941 1945. One significance at this time period
was the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising that began on April 19, 1943. German soldiers, along with German
police officers, went into the ghettos to deport any remaining inhabitants ( Warsaw Ghetto Uprising ).
Although the Hitler and the Nazi Party felt like deporting Jews from their homes was right, the people
of the Warsaw Ghettos was not going down without a fight. Events led to the uprising, and many
events occurred during the uprising, but this was still a horrific period and no one should have to
experience what the Jews of Warsaw experienced. The same way every story has a conflict and rising
action, so does the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. This uprising happened during the middle of the
Holocaust. The conflict was that Jews were being deported to labor and concentration camps. The
rising actions would be that Jews formed organizations called the Żydowska Organizacja Bojowa
(ŻOB) and the Żydowski Związek Wojskowy (ŻZW) (Bell). The Jews of Warsaw began preparing
themselves for the uprising by obtaining weapons from the Polish underground, Jews in London, and
the United States (Bell). They smuggled goods into the ghettos and taught women and children how to
shoot guns (Bell). They stored food and made underground hideouts. We collected mattresses and

Hitman Research Paper
OVER THE PAST YEAR, the release roadmap for Hitman changed more times than Agent 47 has
disguises, before publisher Square Enix and developer IO Interactive finally settled on you ll just get
the bits that are ready in March for cheap . It s always disquieting to see such indecision over an
expensive property so close to release, and sure enough, Hitman s Intro Pack shows signs of a hasty
assembly the way my trackpants did in the 90s whenever my parents were silly enough not to knock

events in 2012 s disappointingly linear Absolution, Hitman: No Subtitle opens with the text 20 years

Lessons I Learned For Myself
Lessons I Learned for Myself. For the first time in my life, I became aware of how I use my voice and
body to deliver a certain message to an audience. This awareness came to me during my first
professional voice class. With Antonio s help, I became able to identify parts of my body that tighten
up my movements and have a significant impact on my voice. During class exercises, I noticed that I
have a tendency to lean my knees back and tense belly muscles. These habits do not let me free my
voice and make it sound unnatural. After reading Patsy Rodenburg s book The Right to Speak I would
describe my voice as habitual because it is encrusted with restrictive tendencies, which I refer to as
habits (Rodenburg, 19). I feel that I was constantly pushed into adopting habits throughout my life in
order to reach the perfection that does not even exist. Habits enforced by myself, culture, and parents
became barriers to my voice. This class taught me that in order to thrive in everything I say, I should
eliminate habitual voice and free my natural voice. What I got out of our classes I remember how our
first class started with a generosity game. To be honest, at first, I had no idea what was the purpose of
this game. I did not understand what generosity has to do with my voice. I considered myself generous
in actions because I was always willing to share with people. But it turned out that I lacked generosity
in my speech. I lacked generosity in emotions, information, and honesty.

Discipline In Classroom Management And Classroom Management
Disciplining children is important to create a safe and fun learning environment. Discipline requires
knowledge, skill, sensitivity, and self confidence; like any art, it is something that one will acquire
through training and experience; it becomes easier with practice. Many people confuse discipline with
classroom management; discipline is one dimension of classroom management and classroom
management is a general term. Discipline can also have a positive influence on both the individual and
classroom environment. Utilizing disciplinary actions can be an opportunity to reflect and learn about
consequences, instill collective values, and encourage behavior that is acceptable for the classroom.
Recognition of the diversity of values within communities can increase understanding and tolerance of
different disciplinary techniques. Promoting positive correction of questionable behavior within the
classroom dynamic, as opposed to out of class punishments like detention, suspension, or expulsion,
can encourage learning and discourage future miss behavior. Learning to own one s bad behavior can
also contribute to positive growth in social emotional learning. Throughout the history of education,
the most common means of maintaining discipline in schools was corporal punishment. While a child
was in school, a teacher was expected to act as parents with many forms of parental discipline or
rewards open to them. This often meant that students were commonly chastised with the strap

Agriculture Is A Vital Part Of Society, And Agribusiness
Agriculture is a vital part of society, and Agribusiness is of course the business behind it. While
agricultural needs were different in ancient times, farming was always necessary. With agriculture
came the domestication of plants and animals. This domestication allowed the human civilization to
flourish. With time, new technologies and lifestyles changed the course of agriculture.
According to the USDA Census of Agriculture, aging farmers and ranchers, whose average age has
risen from 52 to 57 during the last 20 years, are often retiring without a younger family member
willing to take over (2007). With the loss of multi generation ranches comes the rise of corporations.
This ultimately leads to greater employment rates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that nearly
60,000 skilled agricultural job openings are expected annually in the U.S., yet only 35,000 graduates
will be available to fill them (2012). Agricultural managers should find more opportunities this way.
Owners of large lots of land, who aren t often living on the property, will begin to pursue an
agricultural manager s expertise to run their farms as businesses. The decline in farmers, and the
increase in large operations can reap many benefits for graduates looking to emerge themselves in an
agricultural career.
Agribusiness Management means hard work, an extensive education, and many duties both in and out
of the office. Ag Management can also reap many financial and emotional rewards. I m fully aware

Long Bone Osteomyelitis Case Studies
Osteomyelitis of the Long Bones
Osteomyelitis is an inflammation of the bone and bone marrow that can occur in any bone in the body,
however, is more commonly seen in the long bones, the spine, and the foot bones of a diabetic.
Osteomyelitis typically begins as an infection of the medullary cavity, quickly extends to the
periosteum, and settles in the calcified portion of the bone. Even with the significant advances in
diagnosing and treating these types of infections, long bone osteomyelitis still presents a variety of
challenges and remains difficult to treat. The severity of the disease is staged depending upon the
infection s particular features, including its etiology, pathogenesis, extent of bone involvement,
duration and host factors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conditions like malignant and benign tumors, cysts, non infected non unions, old trauma, and bone
infarcts may present symptoms similar to those of osteomyelitis. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis is
dependent on culture results and histologic features. Localized bone and joint pain, erythema, swelling
and drainage around the site of infection may be indications of contiguous focus osteomyelitis. Other
common indicators are local bone loss, sequestrum formation and bony sclerosis. The patient usually
presents with chronic pain and drainage, and obtain a low grade fever (Calhoun et al.). Often times,
drainage and sinus tracts are found near the site of infection. Diagnosis of long bone osteomyelitis
rests on isolation of the pathogen from bone lesion or blood culture (Calhoun et al.). Positive blood
cultures can eliminate the need for a bone biopsy, in the case of hematogenous osteomyelitis, provided
there is radiographic evidence of osteomyelitis. Culture independent methods such as polymerase
chain reaction based detection methods are much more sensitive and accurate (Calhoun et al.). It is
critical to obtain cultures before antimicrobial therapy begins. Antibiotic treatment will be directed on
the basis of cultures or deep bone biopsy and antibiotic sensitivity tests. In today s labs, a variety of
test methods are used including broth microdilution, disk diffusion, and antibiotic gradient

Utilitarianism Essay
LUtilitarianism
Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which acts as a guideline on how people should act in certain
situations and was first introduced by a hedonist (pursuer of pleasure) named Jeremy Bentham who
put forward the Principle of Utility which said The greatest happiness for the greatest number .
Utilitarianism is a theory which bases on the end purpose (teleological) of achieving pleasure, our
decisions should be based on consequences in pursuit of the principle of utility (consequentialist) and
is a theory which judges each situation independently (relativistic).
Jeremy Bentham was the first contributor and developer for Utilitarianism and was most famous for
his version of Act Utilitarianism which focused applying the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Bentham believed that all people were entitled to happiness, and thus each to count as one and no one
as more than one. However, there were many obvious faults in this theory; for example, eating a
chocolate bar is subjective to people who like and dislike chocolate therefore not every action has
equal pleasure and pain for every person.
John Stuart Mill, a fellow colleague of Jeremy Bentham criticised him for developing a Swine theory
as it encouraged people to be selfish and recognizes no higher purpose for life other than the mere
pursuit of pleasure. Mill was concerned that one person s unhappiness could be entirely overlooked if
the majority were happy. Unlike Bentham, Mill focused on differentiating the quality of pleasure and
thus introduced a new theory of utility called Rule Utilitarianism which acted as a general guideline
that achieved happiness without discriminating. Mill s definition of happiness was tended to the
spiritual and culture side rather than just physical. He distinguished between Higher and lower
pleasures, higher pleasures were in pleasures in tune with the mind such as reading and poetry and
lower pleasures tended to physical needs to do with the body like sex and eating. Mill stated that lower
pleasures are more easily accomplishable and thus have to be completed before satisfying the
intellectual needs of the mind. He famously wrote It is better to be a human satisfied than a pig
satisfied, it is

Objections To Realism In The Theories Of International...
Objections to Realism
Even though realism finds itself deeply rooted in a utilitarian moral framework, critics arise as to such
an outlook remains immoral (it is wrong to apply) at best. A major opponent theory is liberalism.
Dismissing that conflicts are inevitable, liberals uphold that the spread of legitimate domestic political
orders will eventually bring an end to international conflicts.[ Scott Burchill, Liberalism in Theories of
International Relations, ed. Scott Burchill (New York: Palgrave, 2001), 35.] This approach involves
embedding notions of democracy, human rights, and free trade. As a result, states will avoid ideology
clashes and a universal state will emerge. Liberals might repudiate realism on its utilitarian ground: its
consequential nature and lack of universal moral code. In this section, I will defend realism against
some liberal criticism.
First, liberalism disapproves the consequential nature of realism, arguing that it treats human beings as
means in political games to secure state power. As Bernard Williams whom liberals would rely on
argued that utilitarianism requires impartiality which attacks an individual s integrity.[ Bernard
Williams, A Critique of Utilitarianism in Ethics: History, Theory, and Contemporary Issues, ed. Steven
M. Cahn and Peter Markie (New York: Oxford University Press, 2016), 559.] Utilitarianism, as
William continues, neglects the fact that practical deliberation is in every case first personal, and the
first person is not derivative or naturally replaced by the [impersonal] anyone. [ Bernard Williams,
Ethics and the Limits of Philosophy (London: Fontana, 1985), quoted in Sophie G. Chappell, Bernard
Williams , The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, https://plato.stanford.
edu/archives/spr2015/entries/williams bernard/.] Thereby, liberals endorse policies that respect every
person s integrity, prioritizing human rights to nation state s competitions of power.
A human rights based approach, however, may backfire. Completely banishing the notion of sovereign
states might risk more deaths, a fact which compromises the liberal prospect. The 2011 U.S. led
military intervention in Libya offers an example. The intervention aimed to save lives of peaceful

Censorship In John Green s Looking For Alaska
Dear Mesa Public Schools Governing Board,
Many books have pushed the boundaries of censorship. Topics like sexuality, explicit language, and
substance use that are present in multiple pieces of literature are some of the many things that will
have a book be considered for banning. Looking For Alaska by John Green is one of those challenged
books. Although it may include sexual scenes and explicit language,it is a book that should not be
banned because of its relatable characters and important themes. First, the majority of characters in
Looking For Alaska are relatable to contemporary teens and therefore should not be banned. Miles
Halter is a teenage boy that wants something exciting to happen, I was after a Great Perhaps... (Green

One of the themes is to be strong. This is present when Miles goes to Alaska for comfort and she tells
him, Mommy ain t here so buck up big guy, (Green 27). The message is important because life is filled
with problems, but everyone has to keep going. Another theme in the book is to not think of a person
as anything but a person. This is prominent when Chip and Miles are arguing and Chip says, You don t
even care about her! All that matters is you and your precious f**cking fantasy that you and Alaska
had this godd**ned secret love affair.. (Green 170). This lesson is important because often times, teens
may look at another person and think that they are perfect when in reality they are not. These are
lessons Miles had to learn with experiences. Both messages are important especially with adolescents
because they might experience what Miles did and want guidance, which is what this book

PE Investment Analysis
In the last decade, PE has emerged as a significant source of capital for funding infrastructure projects.
Traditionally, equity for infrastructure projects was typically contributed by the sponsors and
developers of the project. A major portion of the project investment was often obtained through debt
financing, which accounted for about 6o% 7o% of the total investment required. Non sponsor
investment has been largely in the form of debt, except in the case of public equity offerings. The rise
of PE investment has led to the availability of a new pool of capital for infrastructure projects, where
the need for capital is substantial. Unlike other external sources of funding, PE investors are active
investors. They usually provide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An inference from this is that governments should not only create conditions to facilitate foreign PE
investment, but they should also take bold steps to develop the domestic PE industry. The presence of
a strong domestic PE industry would be a catalyst to attract further foreign PE investment. A large
proportion of investments in our sample consisted of single investor deals. The study of solely
financed and syndicated deals highlighted the main motivations for syndication. The average
investment amount in syndicated deals was higher than that of deals where there was only a single
investor. However, there were no significant differences in the state variables between sole and
syndicated deals. This showed that both sole and syndicated deals were taking place in similar
operating environments. If the motivation of syndication was to leverage the diverse expertise among
the investors with a view to reducing risk, then syndicated deals would have been expected in riskier
environments, for example in states where the level of corruption was higher or the PRI value was
lower. Since this has not been the case, we feel that capital pooling in order to fund larger projects has
been the main motivation for syndication, rather than the ability to assume a higher level of operating
environment risk. The overall characteristics of the operating environment also play an important role
in attracting PE investment. Regional analysis shows that the East had the lowest

Heart Of Darkness By Joseph Conrad And The Portrayal Of Women
Lucia Zhu
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and the Portrayal of Women
Joseph Conrad s novella Heart of Darkness is an adventure tale about the narrator s journey through
the mysterious Congo River. Marlow, the narrator, becomes a sea captain as he travels the world in a
steamboat. His journey starts from the Thames River in England to deep in the Congo River of Africa.
Marlow s mission is to locate and retrieve Europe s best agent Mr. Kurtz. As the search for Kurtz
proves to be both horrifying and revealing, it brings Marlow face to face with the heart of darkness .
As Marlow unfolds Africa s mystery, he sees more and more of Africa being wrongfully exploited.
Within the complex framework of Marlow s physical and mental journey, Joseph Conrad takes a
complex stance on the nature of women so that they are seen as weak and separated from the men of
the novella. In his tale, Conrad is oblivious to gender discrimination. Marlow, the protagonist of Heart
of Darkness, unconsciously surrenders to the inequality of his era regarding the decency of women.
Throughout the novella, the female characters in the text reveals Conrad s separation of women to
their own bubble of a world, only to sometimes reveal the power they hold.
Conrad s sexism is first recognized through diction of the portrayal of Marlow s aunt. As Marlow
looks for a job, his male family members are hesitant to help because they are aware of the dangers in
Africa. Marlow s aunt, on the other hand, is very willing

What Are The Three Core Moderators Of Tactile Salience Are
Core factors
In fig. 1, the three core moderators of tactile salience are:
1. Technology characteristics/capabilities. Technology characteristics include the engineering
specifications of the tactor display. For example, abrupt onset (or changes) in stimuli and high
frequency (200 300 Hz) tone burst vibrations are known to be more salient, as measured by
probability of detection (Mortimer et al. 2007). Early studies of tactile signaling focused on
psychophysical responses to tactor characteristics (see reviews by Cheung et al. 2008, Cholewiak et al.
1991, Lederman Klatzky, 2009, Loomis Lederman, 1986). Others have also discussed tactor
characteristics such as the amplitude, frequency, and ISI, transducer force, bandwidth, and duration of
signal (Cholewiak Wollowitz 1992, Jones Sarter, 2008; Mortimer et al. 2007).
Technology also includes characteristics arising from multiple tactors, such as type, variety, and
number of tactors in the array. Some tactor cues can be likened to melodies (Brewster Brown, 2004).
Brewster et al., referred to these tactile melodies as tactons (tactile icons). Similarly, multi tactor cues
developed to cue different operator actions have been referred to as tactions, or tactile actions
(Mortimer et al. 2011). Tactons and tactions can be defined in terms of dimensional variables affecting
salience (e.g., simplicity, intuitiveness, meaningfulness, distinctiveness).
2. Individual/User characteristics. Characteristics of the user

Walnut Street Jail Thesis
Walnut Street Jail
The Walnut Street Jail was first built as a city jail in 1773 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The jail was
named after the streets it was located in which were sixth and Walnut streets. The Jail then expanded
in 1790 in which a penitentiary house was added. Walnut Street Jail is considered the United States
first penitentiary house because no other jail was single celled. During that time, jails that existed did
not believe in the idea that inmate can change. The jail was built in Pennsylvania due to overcrowding
in another jail called High Street Jail. Even though Walnut Street Jail opened as a local jail, they also
had a plan for their inmates. This plan was to look at criminals positively and hope for them to change.

Even though the prison was improving its conditions, they did not think about expanding even more.
The purpose of the prison was to rehabilitate inmates through solitary confinement and with the
overcrowding, it was impossible. With the overcrowding, prisoners began to fight each other and
caused violent outbreaks. Soon it became unhealthy, dirty, and unsafe for inmates. In the end, the jail
failed due to poor architecture and lack of staying organized. About 30 to 40 inmates were being
placed in one room where they would all have to seep on the floor. It failed to focus on their goal
which was to keep prisoners separately so that they could self reflect. Later, the Eastern Pennsylvania
Prison was built to replace the Walnut Street Jail. A prison in which also put their inmates in solitary

Teaching Methods And Strategies For Teaching Styles
There has always been a debate on what kind of teaching styles work best, what the best curriculum to
teach is, or how to effectively organize your classroom. Yet, nobody has discovered what the most
effective teaching methods are. As future teachers, we must constantly be making decisions that will
shape us into the teacher we would like to become. Over the course of the next four years, and even
once we become teachers with classrooms of our own, we will be exposed to many different teaching
methods and strategies. There is no one right or wrong way to teach, and it is up to us to decide how
we would like to structure our classroom. While there are many teaching styles, it seems that there is
predominantly two types of teachers according to John Dewey: those that are reflective, and those that
are not. Unreflective teachers tend to accept the routines that are given to them by the school they are
working for. They spend their days working to solve problems who have been created by others for
them. Reflective teachers on the other hand, are constantly evaluating their beliefs, teaching methods
and behaviors and modifying those things so that it works with the situation they are in. Dewey
believe that in order to be a reflective teacher, you must have three different components to your
attitude: open mindedness, responsibility, and wholeheartedness. In being open minded, you must be
willing to listen to both sides of the argument and willing to use an alternative way of

Social Entrepreneurship And Its Impact On Society
Over the last few decades entrepreneurship has become the way many people have chosen to for their
career paths. There are different types of entrepreneurship but there is one in particular that seem to be
evolving in the world of business and it is social entrepreneurship. Social entrepreneurship has
allowed the opportunity for change, considering the ever changing economy we live in today. Social
entrepreneurship focuses on not for profit in order to create social value, encourage socially
responsible practices in current businesses and provides social solutions to social problems. Social
enterprise is the tool that is used to create social values and meet the social needs. Even though social
entrepreneurship sounds like it is charity it is not because it combines social and commercial goals and
as a result, solves some of the social problems. Social entrepreneurs take part in a procedure that
involves consistent development, adoption and learning. By having these segments, social
entrepreneurs are able to work without being confined to assets. Even though most cases of social
entrepreneurship start out rather small, their drives have a huge impact on the world s issues. Some of
those examples include access to clean water, unemployment rates, chronic sickness and disease and
crime. This paper will address the social entrepreneurship origin, characteristics and the contrast of
social entrepreneurship in the United States versus other countries abroad. Social

An Analysis Of The Socialist Alternative
Quintessentially, we need to join all forces socialists, liberals, deep greens, trade unionists, feminists,
indigenous activists (Angus, p. 221) everyone who is willing to demand decisive actions to stop
greenhouse gas emissions protecting nature and ecological balance. The ecological emergency is a
great challenge for the renewal of a revised Marxists thought and a break from the ideology of linear
progress. Moreover, we need to translate the innate human solidarity that happens in natural disasters
or war time, Angus gives very good examples in merit referring to Hurricane Katrina, (Angus, p.193),
in everyday life, building a human solidarian society that performs beyond self interest, as Michael
Lebowitz describes in The socialist Alternative (Angus, p. 193). The main problem is that we are
running against time and sectarian isolation of movements. (Angus, p.195) What are the goals of an

Video Games And Its Effects On Female Characters
Throughout the world women are depicted to be oversexualized among forms of media such as video
games and comic books. The idea of oversexualization towards female characters is that they have
been often drawn and animated in hypersexual ways. Even going as far as viewing them as a sex
object, their revealing body images are eye candy through the eyes of men. Hence women found in
comic books and video games are frequently emphasized by their excessive physical appearances,
objectification, portrayal, and character role.
So, what does oversexualize mean anyway? The term oversexualize defines as to sexualize
excessively, which means to make something of sexual that is beyond degree in this case, a person or
someone of a gender whether male or female can be oversexualized. To begin with, costumes that
female characters wear are far more or less provocative clothes, but mainly towards sexually explicit
ways. For example, Ivy Valentine comes from a video game series called Soul Calibur who is the first
character to have a revealing outfit and in which her costumes appears to be a dominatrix style.
Furthermore, she shows a huge amount of cleavage with her exposed thighs and hips despite wearing
high boots and long gloves which indicates to be a skin display. This brings us to our next reason
about body types. The women s appearances we see in media have been designed to become a perfect
ideal and yet their massive breasts are exaggeratedly drawn to be in the size of basketballs

Disadvantages Of Salting
Initially created as a response to the decline in union membership, salting is a program where union
members are encouraged by their union to seek employment at a non union company. Once the
individual(s) are hired, they begin to promote unionization. Their union may provide them with a
union wage in addition to their regular rate of pay. There are three different types of salting. The first
is in cases where union jobs are not available. When this occurs, union members are encouraged to
look for employment at nonunion companies and on their own time. They are also encouraged to
speak to the benefits of unionization with their fellow coworkers. Union members, in these cases, are
not compensated by the union. The second type of salting

Otherwise Called Nyhan s Syndrome
Lesch Nyhan Syndrome, otherwise called Nyhan s syndrome, hypoxanthine guanine
phosphoribosyltransferase (HPRT) deficiency or juvenile gout, is a rare hereditary disorder that affects
almost exclusively males at a very young age. Thereby, they develop neurological and behavioral
abnormalities physical handicaps, mental retardation and abnormal involuntary muscle movements
and the overproduction of uric acid. This paper will outline the Lesch Nyhan syndromes genetic and
metabolic components, symptoms and signs, how and when a patient should present to a physician,
what makes the physician think that a patient has the disease, how it is diagnosed, the treatment and/or
cure, and its longevity. The history of Lesch Nyhan syndrome began first when it was discovered or
recognized by Michael Lesch and William Nyhan. Michael Lesch and William Nyhan supplied the
first detailed clinical characterization of Lesch Nyhan disease in the year 1964 (H A Jinnah, 2015).
Additionally, the deficiency of the enzyme hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyl transferase was
observed by Seegmiller and associates in 1967 (H A Jinnah, 2015). Lesch Nyhan Syndrome is
genetically caused due to the deficiency of hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyl transferase or the
HPRT1 gene mutation. The complete or acute deficiency of HRPT leads to this Lesch Nyhan
syndrome. The gene mutation is located in the X chromosome. The HPRT gene is found on the long
arm of the X chromosome and the amino acid coding for HPRT is

Comment On Humanistic School Of Psychology
Comment on humanistic school of psychology.
Humanistic school of psychology gained importance in midst of 20th century. The limitations of
Sigmund Freud s psycho analytic theory and B.F Skinner s behaviourism formed the basis of
Humanistic school of psychology .
Humanistic psychologists start from the conclusion that every person has their own unique way of
understanding the world and that the things they do only make sense in this way. Consequently, the
kinds of questions they ask about people differ from those asked by psychologists from other
approaches. Whereas other approaches take an objective view of people, in essence asking about
them, what is this person like humanistic psychologists priority is understanding people s subjectivity,
asking what is it like to be this person As a result, they reject the objective scientific method as a way
of studying people. Humanistic psychologists explicitly endorse the idea that ... Show more content on

Humanism is an attempt to reorient psychology to more person oriented objectives. For a proponent of
humanism, the new movement represented a return to a true concern for consciousness after 50 years
of behaviourally oriented experimental psychology and by analytically oriented depth psychology
(psychoanalysis). In a sense, humanism adopted the phenomenal orientation of Gestalt psychology,

Further more, a suggestion is proposed to prevent black hole at tacks, as a part of DoS attacks (in

DDoS attacks (that only need the subnet ID instead of the exact IPv6 address of a target). A method is

Review Of Tempest Volcano
Tempest Volcano I was running down a narrow strip of land with lava all around me with a demon dog
chasing behind my back. I unsheathed my sword and shouted, φωτιά! My sword erupted in blue
flame, startling the gargantuan dog. In those few seconds I turned around pounced on the creature and
slashed at it s eyes. The sword hit the creature right in the eye. It kicked me off, pounced on me,
picked me up with its massive claws, and threw me hundreds of feet into the air. It suddenly exploded
into yellow dust which meant that it hadn t died yet, but that meant that it will be gone from humans
until it is reborn in the underworld. I landed awkwardly on my arm and felt a sharp jolt and heard a

me and said, I am only your uncle. No need to fret. I responded, Oh really? Were you the one that sent
me that note? He said back, Uh huh. I said, Okay. He then pulled out a katana, held it up to the sun
and screamed, Brisinger! The katana suddenly lit up and plasma formed all around it, illuminating the
entire area. I said, φωτιά and my sword went up in flames. He lunged at me and slashed at my neck, so
close, I could feel the plasma radiating through my skin. He attacked at me again, but this time I was
ready. I parried his attack and stabbed at him. The flames from my sword however, had lit his cloak on
fire. I was taught this tactic in self defense class when I was only six years old. While he was still
distracted, I ordered Pyro to scorch him, but before he had a chance, the man said, πάγωμα and a beam
of ice flew from his hands, freezing pyro before he could do anything. He was so concentrated on
keeping pyro still, that even though I sliced at him, knocking his sword away he didn t notice. I tied
him up, gagged him and tied him up to a tree. I touched my flaming sword to the ground, lighting the

  • 2. The Effects Of Anabolic Steroids In ancient Greece, the greeks use steroids to increase their speed and strength. (Aschwanden) They consumed them by drinks, potions, and also by eating sheep and bull testis in mass quantities. Steroids started in 1930 s for men who did not have enough testosterone (Anabolic Steroids). They were just created for normal growth, development and sexual function. This steroid that was created in 1930 s was also used in World War II to help the soldiers gain weight and improve their performance on the battleground. (Anabolic Steroids) Later an American physician named Dr. Zeigler created anabolic steroids and released them in the United States in 1958. After he created this drug athletes around the world started using it to enhance their performance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Right Of Free Speech Throughout American history, the foundation on which American democratic principles are based, has been repeatedly tested. In the 1700s, the right of free speech was challenged when President John Adams proposed the Alien and Sedition Acts. Adams attempted to stop the Democratic Republicans such as Thomas Jefferson, from criticizing government decisions. Similarly, during the Civil War President Abraham Lincoln challenged freedom of the press when he took action to restrict the printing of military news. Lincoln ordered his generals in the field to control the press and crack down on speech critical of his administration to limit dissent against the war effort. However, one historical era stands out as a decidedly pivotal test of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Twentieth century U.S. history saw two major episodes of repression and violence against communists and leftist radicals, that occurred approximately three decades apart. During the early part of the 1920s, America entered its first period of extreme anti communist sentiment, the First Red Scare. After the successful Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917, American citizens began to fear the threat of communist influence at home. At the end of WWI, American workers unhappy with wages and spiralling inflation, launched widespread sometimes violent strikes with the support of growing labor unions. Some of these unions called for government takeover of private industries. For instance, railroad workers called for the national government to take permanent control of the railroad system. The growing waves strikes signalled a period of extreme civil unrest; American citizens became frightened that they would face a revolution similar to the one that had just taken place in Russia. In response, Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, in an effort to gain the attention of American voters to support his presidential aspirations, launched a nationwide crusade against anyone he identified as having leftist views. Under Palmer s leadership, thousands of Americans were arrested for taking part in alleged subversion, and thousands of others were stripped of their civil liberties. In violation of ... • 4. Alcohol Anonymous Research Today, alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance in the United States (NCADD Staff, 2017). According to the National Council on Alcohol Drug and Dependance, 17.6 million people, or one in every 12 adults, suffer from alcohol abuse or dependence (NCADD Staff, 2017). To cope with this mass issue, several self help programs has evolved. Perhaps the most well known and most accepted program is AA. AA stands for Alcohol Anonymous. This global program is designed for men and women who have problems with drinking alcohol, alcohol abuse or dependence. The association is accepting of all individuals regardless of age, race or other distinguishing factors, and hopes to help those who wish to resolve their drinking issues. AA has developed ... Furthermore, the program is not equipped for everyone s needs. Some individuals may need therapy and/or medical treatment, such as detox which AA cannot provide (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Moreover, because the program emphasizes the reliance on a higher power it can cause individuals to believe they are powerless to change without the higher power (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Next, the anonymity of AA has led some member to abuse other members (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Since members are subjected to a policy to protects people s identity, many women have confessed to being sexually abused during or after a meeting. In fact, this issue has caused the program to eliminate the thirteenth step of the program: sponsoring (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017). Besides this, many are subjected to AA as a result of court order. Hence, the members are not truly willing to recover. Thus, prohibiting the growth of the other members. Not to mention, AA can cause influential people to become involved with the wrong crowd. Since the program is community based, participants are surrounded by those who may also be addicted to drugs. Hence, a young or influential person may get involved with drugs through the group setting (Rehab4alcoholism Staff, 2017).In other words, AA can influence peer pressure. ... • 5. Hyperkalaemia And Depolariization Of Potassium Potassium is a necessary intracellular ion, found in each cell membrane, playing a vital role in the normal functioning of nerve and muscle cells. It is crucial for proper fluid balance in the body by countering the effect of sodium and creates an electrical charge across the cell membrane. This is important as it allows nerves to conduct electrical impulses to communicate between muscles and cells to contract. A majority is found inside muscle tissue, and the balance between sodium and potassium ions is crucial to maintain an electrical gradient which works to transport substances in/out the cell and transmit nerve signals which consequently trigger muscle contractions. When this balance is disrupted, the functioning of muscles is drastically affected. An excess amount of potassium can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Typically, the kidneys can maintain blood potassium within a health range, excreting extra when necessary. But when one cannot efficiently eliminate excess potassium, hyperkalemia occurs. Hyperkalaemia can result in depolarization of membrane potentials of nerve and muscle cells, due to the increased equilibrium potential of potassium. This impairs the normal process of depolarization; the depolarization of the membrane potentials opens several voltage gated sodium channels; however it elevates the inactivation process. Depolarization is slowed due to the concentration changes, which means an action potential is not generated; the process of accommodation occurs instead. This is when nerve cells adjusts slowly to a slowly increasing stimulus so that its threshold of excitation of greater than it would be were the stimulus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising In The Holocaust Uprising in the Ghetto The Holocaust is a very known event. The Holocaust was the genocide of Jews by the German Nazi Party. The Holocaust lasted from 1941 1945. One significance at this time period was the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising that began on April 19, 1943. German soldiers, along with German police officers, went into the ghettos to deport any remaining inhabitants ( Warsaw Ghetto Uprising ). Although the Hitler and the Nazi Party felt like deporting Jews from their homes was right, the people of the Warsaw Ghettos was not going down without a fight. Events led to the uprising, and many events occurred during the uprising, but this was still a horrific period and no one should have to experience what the Jews of Warsaw experienced. The same way every story has a conflict and rising action, so does the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. This uprising happened during the middle of the Holocaust. The conflict was that Jews were being deported to labor and concentration camps. The rising actions would be that Jews formed organizations called the Å»ydowska Organizacja Bojowa (Å»OB) and the Å»ydowski ZwiÄ…zek Wojskowy (Å»ZW) (Bell). The Jews of Warsaw began preparing themselves for the uprising by obtaining weapons from the Polish underground, Jews in London, and the United States (Bell). • 7. Hitman Research Paper OVER THE PAST YEAR, the release roadmap for Hitman changed more times than Agent 47 has disguises, before publisher Square Enix and developer IO Interactive finally settled on you ll just get the bits that are ready in March for cheap . It s always disquieting to see such indecision over an expensive property so close to release, and sure enough, Hitman s Intro Pack shows signs of a hasty assembly the way my trackpants did in the 90s whenever my parents were silly enough not to knock before entering. Functioning both as a prologue to the 16 year old franchise and a continuation of the events in 2012 s disappointingly linear Absolution, Hitman: No Subtitle opens with the text 20 years earlier hanging onscreen, as if the last game anyone played was Absolution, after which we all just sat in unmoving silence, pondering how such a distinctive looking man could possibly remain so undetectable simply by changing his clothes. It s a weird non sequitur of a start that had me wondering I d accidentally skipped a cutscene while scratching my back* with my DualShock 4, and when I was only given control of 47 for just long enough to pan the camera 20 degrees to the right before the first cutscene kicked in, I began to wonder if my console was having a seizure. • 8. Lessons I Learned For Myself Lessons I Learned for Myself. For the first time in my life, I became aware of how I use my voice and body to deliver a certain message to an audience. This awareness came to me during my first professional voice class. With Antonio s help, I became able to identify parts of my body that tighten up my movements and have a significant impact on my voice. During class exercises, I noticed that I have a tendency to lean my knees back and tense belly muscles. These habits do not let me free my voice and make it sound unnatural. After reading Patsy Rodenburg s book The Right to Speak I would describe my voice as habitual because it is encrusted with restrictive tendencies, which I refer to as habits (Rodenburg, 19). I feel that I was constantly pushed into adopting habits throughout my life in order to reach the perfection that does not even exist. Habits enforced by myself, culture, and parents became barriers to my voice. This class taught me that in order to thrive in everything I say, I should eliminate habitual voice and free my natural voice. What I got out of our classes I remember how our first class started with a generosity game. To be honest, at first, I had no idea what was the purpose of this game. I did not understand what generosity has to do with my voice. I considered myself generous in actions because I was always willing to share with people. But it turned out that I lacked generosity in my speech. I lacked generosity in emotions, information, and honesty. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Discipline In Classroom Management And Classroom Management Disciplining children is important to create a safe and fun learning environment. Discipline requires knowledge, skill, sensitivity, and self confidence; like any art, it is something that one will acquire through training and experience; it becomes easier with practice. Many people confuse discipline with classroom management; discipline is one dimension of classroom management and classroom management is a general term. Discipline can also have a positive influence on both the individual and classroom environment. Utilizing disciplinary actions can be an opportunity to reflect and learn about consequences, instill collective values, and encourage behavior that is acceptable for the classroom. Recognition of the diversity of values within communities can increase understanding and tolerance of different disciplinary techniques. Promoting positive correction of questionable behavior within the classroom dynamic, as opposed to out of class punishments like detention, suspension, or expulsion, can encourage learning and discourage future miss behavior. Learning to own one s bad behavior can also contribute to positive growth in social emotional learning. Throughout the history of education, the most common means of maintaining discipline in schools was corporal punishment. While a child was in school, a teacher was expected to act as parents with many forms of parental discipline or rewards open to them. This often meant that students were commonly chastised with the strap ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Agriculture Is A Vital Part Of Society, And Agribusiness Agriculture is a vital part of society, and Agribusiness is of course the business behind it. While agricultural needs were different in ancient times, farming was always necessary. With agriculture came the domestication of plants and animals. This domestication allowed the human civilization to flourish. With time, new technologies and lifestyles changed the course of agriculture. According to the USDA Census of Agriculture, aging farmers and ranchers, whose average age has risen from 52 to 57 during the last 20 years, are often retiring without a younger family member willing to take over (2007). With the loss of multi generation ranches comes the rise of corporations. This ultimately leads to greater employment rates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that nearly 60,000 skilled agricultural job openings are expected annually in the U.S., yet only 35,000 graduates will be available to fill them (2012). Agricultural managers should find more opportunities this way. Owners of large lots of land, who aren t often living on the property, will begin to pursue an agricultural manager s expertise to run their farms as businesses. The decline in farmers, and the increase in large operations can reap many benefits for graduates looking to emerge themselves in an agricultural career. Agribusiness Management means hard work, an extensive education, and many duties both in and out of the office. Ag Management can also reap many financial and emotional rewards. I m fully aware ... Long Bone Osteomyelitis Case Studies Osteomyelitis of the Long Bones Osteomyelitis is an inflammation of the bone and bone marrow that can occur in any bone in the body, however, is more commonly seen in the long bones, the spine, and the foot bones of a diabetic. Osteomyelitis typically begins as an infection of the medullary cavity, quickly extends to the periosteum, and settles in the calcified portion of the bone. Even with the significant advances in diagnosing and treating these types of infections, long bone osteomyelitis still presents a variety of challenges and remains difficult to treat. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conditions like malignant and benign tumors, cysts, non infected non unions, old trauma, and bone infarcts may present symptoms similar to those of osteomyelitis. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis is dependent on culture results and histologic features. Localized bone and joint pain, erythema, swelling and drainage around the site of infection may be indications of contiguous focus osteomyelitis. Other common indicators are local bone loss, sequestrum formation and bony sclerosis. The patient usually presents with chronic pain and drainage, and obtain a low grade fever (Calhoun et al.). Often times, drainage and sinus tracts are found near the site of infection. Diagnosis of long bone osteomyelitis rests on isolation of the pathogen from bone lesion or blood culture (Calhoun et al.). Positive blood cultures can eliminate the need for a bone biopsy, in the case of hematogenous osteomyelitis, provided there is radiographic evidence of osteomyelitis. Culture independent methods such as polymerase chain reaction based detection methods are much more sensitive and accurate (Calhoun et al.). It is critical to obtain cultures before antimicrobial therapy begins. Antibiotic treatment will be directed on the basis of cultures or deep bone biopsy and antibiotic sensitivity tests. Utilitarianism Essay LUtilitarianism Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which acts as a guideline on how people should act in certain situations and was first introduced by a hedonist (pursuer of pleasure) named Jeremy Bentham who put forward the Principle of Utility which said The greatest happiness for the greatest number . Utilitarianism is a theory which bases on the end purpose (teleological) of achieving pleasure, our decisions should be based on consequences in pursuit of the principle of utility (consequentialist) and is a theory which judges each situation independently (relativistic). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bentham believed that all people were entitled to happiness, and thus each to count as one and no one as more than one. However, there were many obvious faults in this theory; for example, eating a chocolate bar is subjective to people who like and dislike chocolate therefore not every action has equal pleasure and pain for every person. John Stuart Mill, a fellow colleague of Jeremy Bentham criticised him for developing a Swine theory as it encouraged people to be selfish and recognizes no higher purpose for life other than the mere pursuit of pleasure. Mill was concerned that one person s unhappiness could be entirely overlooked if the majority were happy. Unlike Bentham, Mill focused on differentiating the quality of pleasure and thus introduced a new theory of utility called Rule Utilitarianism which acted as a general guideline that achieved happiness without discriminating. Mill s definition of happiness was tended to the spiritual and culture side rather than just physical. He distinguished between Higher and lower pleasures, higher pleasures were in pleasures in tune with the mind such as reading and poetry and lower pleasures tended to physical needs to do with the body like sex and eating. Mill stated that lower pleasures are more easily accomplishable and thus have to be completed before satisfying the intellectual needs of the mind. • 18. Objections To Realism In The Theories Of International... Objections to Realism Even though realism finds itself deeply rooted in a utilitarian moral framework, critics arise as to such an outlook remains immoral (it is wrong to apply) at best. A major opponent theory is liberalism. Dismissing that conflicts are inevitable, liberals uphold that the spread of legitimate domestic political orders will eventually bring an end to international conflicts.[ Scott Burchill, Liberalism in Theories of International Relations, ed. Scott Burchill (New York: Palgrave, 2001), 35.] This approach involves embedding notions of democracy, human rights, and free trade. As a result, states will avoid ideology clashes and a universal state will emerge. Liberals might repudiate realism on its utilitarian ground: its consequential nature and lack of universal moral code. In this section, I will defend realism against some liberal criticism. First, liberalism disapproves the consequential nature of realism, arguing that it treats human beings as means in political games to secure state power. As Bernard Williams whom liberals would rely on argued that utilitarianism requires impartiality which attacks an individual s integrity.[ Bernard Williams, A Critique of Utilitarianism in Ethics: History, Theory, and Contemporary Issues, ed. Steven M. Cahn and Peter Markie (New York: Oxford University Press, 2016), 559.] Utilitarianism, as William continues, neglects the fact that practical deliberation is in every case first personal, and the first person is not derivative or naturally replaced by the [impersonal] anyone. [ Bernard Williams, Ethics and the Limits of Philosophy (London: Fontana, 1985), quoted in Sophie G. Chappell, Bernard Williams , The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, https://plato.stanford. edu/archives/spr2015/entries/williams bernard/.] Thereby, liberals endorse policies that respect every person s integrity, prioritizing human rights to nation state s competitions of power. A human rights based approach, however, may backfire. Completely banishing the notion of sovereign states might risk more deaths, a fact which compromises the liberal prospect. The 2011 U.S. led military intervention in Libya offers an example. The intervention aimed to save lives of peaceful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An inference from this is that governments should not only create conditions to facilitate foreign PE investment, but they should also take bold steps to develop the domestic PE industry. The presence of a strong domestic PE industry would be a catalyst to attract further foreign PE investment. A large proportion of investments in our sample consisted of single investor deals. The study of solely financed and syndicated deals highlighted the main motivations for syndication. The average investment amount in syndicated deals was higher than that of deals where there was only a single investor. However, there were no significant differences in the state variables between sole and syndicated deals. This showed that both sole and syndicated deals were taking place in similar operating environments. If the motivation of syndication was to leverage the diverse expertise among the investors with a view to reducing risk, then syndicated deals would have been expected in riskier environments, for example in states where the level of corruption was higher or the PRI value was lower. Since this has not been the case, we feel that capital pooling in order to fund larger projects has been the main motivation for syndication, rather than the ability to assume a higher level of operating environment risk. The overall characteristics of the operating environment also play an important role in attracting PE investment. Regional analysis shows that the East had the lowest ... Marlow, the narrator, becomes a sea captain as he travels the world in a steamboat. His journey starts from the Thames River in England to deep in the Congo River of Africa. Marlow s mission is to locate and retrieve Europe s best agent Mr. Kurtz. As the search for Kurtz proves to be both horrifying and revealing, it brings Marlow face to face with the heart of darkness . As Marlow unfolds Africa s mystery, he sees more and more of Africa being wrongfully exploited. Within the complex framework of Marlow s physical and mental journey, Joseph Conrad takes a complex stance on the nature of women so that they are seen as weak and separated from the men of the novella. In his tale, Conrad is oblivious to gender discrimination. Marlow, the protagonist of Heart of Darkness, unconsciously surrenders to the inequality of his era regarding the decency of women. Throughout the novella, the female characters in the text reveals Conrad s separation of women to their own bubble of a world, only to sometimes reveal the power they hold. • 24. What Are The Three Core Moderators Of Tactile Salience Are Core factors In fig. 1, the three core moderators of tactile salience are: 1. Technology characteristics/capabilities. Technology characteristics include the engineering specifications of the tactor display. For example, abrupt onset (or changes) in stimuli and high frequency (200 300 Hz) tone burst vibrations are known to be more salient, as measured by probability of detection (Mortimer et al. 2007). Early studies of tactile signaling focused on psychophysical responses to tactor characteristics (see reviews by Cheung et al. 2008, Cholewiak et al. 1991, Lederman Klatzky, 2009, Loomis Lederman, 1986). Others have also discussed tactor characteristics such as the amplitude, frequency, and ISI, transducer force, bandwidth, and duration of signal (Cholewiak Wollowitz 1992, Jones Sarter, 2008; Mortimer et al. 2007). Technology also includes characteristics arising from multiple tactors, such as type, variety, and number of tactors in the array. Some tactor cues can be likened to melodies (Brewster Brown, 2004). Brewster et al., referred to these tactile melodies as tactons (tactile icons). Similarly, multi tactor cues developed to cue different operator actions have been referred to as tactions, or tactile actions (Mortimer et al. 2011). Tactons and tactions can be defined in terms of dimensional variables affecting salience (e.g., simplicity, intuitiveness, meaningfulness, distinctiveness). 2. Individual/User characteristics. Over the course of the next four years, and even once we become teachers with classrooms of our own, we will be exposed to many different teaching methods and strategies. Further more, a suggestion is proposed to prevent black hole at tacks, as a part of DoS attacks (in which a compromised router on the path between two hosts discards packets instead of forwarding them) and bandwidth depletion DDoS attacks (that only need the subnet ID instead of the exact IPv6 address of a target). A method is also presented to recover the communication after rebooting a host. The proposed method (MTM6D II) is designed to meet the below requirements: { Static IP address is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the re sult, the proposed method does not depend on a speci c algorithm or key size for encryption, authentication, and key distribution. This portability feature helps us to implement this method for di erent applications like small low power Internet of Things (IoT) devices. For example, the choice of cryptographic algorithms is left to negotiation steps of IKEv2 to select an algorithm that both parties support. The remainder of this paper is organized as follows. Over the next two sections, an overview of the related work and some details of Mobile IPv6 are provided. Then the proposed solution and results of testing with a prototype implementation are presented. Finally, some conclusions are o ered and the future work is discussed. 2 Related Work This section includes a brief review of previous MTD based methods that protect servers against remote at tacks. Also, some of the limitations of these methods are discussed. Some cloud based defense methods were presented in [8], [9], and [10] for Internet services against DDoS attacks. These solutions were based on performing se lective server replication and intelligent client reassign ment, where the victimized servers were turned into moving targets in order to isolate attack. The attacked server instances are replaced with new replicas at di er ent network locations and subsequently the clients are migrated to the new server instances. The new locations are only known to clients that have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Review Of Tempest Volcano Tempest Volcano I was running down a narrow strip of land with lava all around me with a demon dog chasing behind my back. I unsheathed my sword and shouted, φωτιά! My sword erupted in blue flame, startling the gargantuan dog. In those few seconds I turned around pounced on the creature and slashed at it s eyes. The sword hit the creature right in the eye. It kicked me off, pounced on me, picked me up with its massive claws, and threw me hundreds of feet into the air. It suddenly exploded into yellow dust which meant that it hadn t died yet, but that meant that it will be gone from humans until it is reborn in the underworld. I landed awkwardly on my arm and felt a sharp jolt and heard a loud, CRACK! I started walking back home, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally, after what seemed like hours, I spotted our destination. We discretely glided down toward the ground and landed in the forest. I was climbing down and off Pyro when a man in a dark hood emerged from behind a tree. I jumped down and pulled out my sword. The man slowly walked up to me and said, I am only your uncle. No need to fret. I responded, Oh really? Were you the one that sent me that note? He said back, Uh huh. I said, Okay. He then pulled out a katana, held it up to the sun and screamed, Brisinger! The katana suddenly lit up and plasma formed all around it, illuminating the entire area. I said, φωτιά and my sword went up in flames. He lunged at me and slashed at my neck, so close, I could feel the plasma radiating through my skin. He attacked at me again, but this time I was ready. I parried his attack and stabbed at him. The flames from my sword however, had lit his cloak on fire. I was taught this tactic in self defense class when I was only six years old. While he was still distracted, I ordered Pyro to scorch him, but before he had a chance, the man said, πάγωμα and a beam of ice flew from his hands, freezing pyro before he could do anything. He was so concentrated on keeping pyro still, that even though I sliced at him, knocking his sword away he didn t notice. I tied him up, gagged him and tied him up to a tree. I touched my flaming sword to the ground, lighting the ground on fire, starting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
