With the advent of IOT billions of iot devices are getting connected in the near future. Vast amount
of chips and design solutions are emerging in the iot market. But the problem with these designs is
that what we have are power hungry application processors that provide ample performance, but
are not energy efficient for running battery powered IoT devices. And there are microcontrollers
that are cheap and low power, but fail to provide the performance levels necessary for implementing

Ultra low power without performance tradeoff
IoT developers are increasingly demanding embedded solutions that extend battery life without
sacrificing performance. Therefore, PSoC 6 has been purpose built on a dual core ARMВ®
CortexВ® M4 and ARM Cortex M0+ architecture
The ARM Cortex M4, running at 150 MHz speed is the primary application processor catering to
the high performance needs of IoT applications; the 100 MHz ARM Cortex M0+ processor,
supports low power operations. The PSoC 6 MCU also employs dynamic voltage and frequency
scaling techniques to lower the power bar further.
2.Scalability: The PSoC 6 MCU architecture enables the addition of new features and addresses the
need for unique IoT products with multiple connectivity options such as USB and BLE, software
defined peripherals to create custom analog and digital circuits and CapSenseВ®, the industry s

Essay on Slavery and War
Midterm
1. What fundamental factors drew the Europeans to the exploration, conquest, and colonization
of the New World? There were many fundamental factors that drew the Europeans to the
exploration, conquest, and colonization of the World such as natural resources, overpopulation
and religion. The European explorations have been hearing a lot about all the natural resources
that the New World can offer to them. They wanted to travel and find the Far East for the gold,
silk, spices, and possible crops that they may be able to bring back to Europe. They believed that
the New World would be able to offer all of the natural resources that they may need in order to
survive in Europe. They were also very fond of gold and all the other ... Show more content on

They often did not want to stay in the southern colonies due to the poor advancement it offered. In
result, landowners started to use African slavery as their source of labor. They were free and
landowners did not have to worry about paying for the African slaves.
3. What efforts were made to strengthen English control over the colonies in the seventeenth
century, and why did they generally fail?
After the civil wars that were going on in Europe, England tried to restore their authority on the
colonies and make sure that throne was still powerful. After the British throne had been restored
by Charles II, he wanted to be able to control his colonies more strictly. However, he was
surprised that the orders he have made were not being followed in Massachusetts. The colonies
were being taxed a lot by the English and they also sent out governors of their own to try to take
charge of the colonies and made sure that the British laws were being enforced. Charles II
wanted to continue the English rule in the New World and tried to overpower the colonies. It
generally failed because the English were fighting civil wars themselves, and colonies were left
insolated for many years. This can be argued in a good and bad way. The colonies started
becoming independent and did not like the idea of being ruled under England anymore. They liked
the idea that they were free from England s rule, which foreshadows

Raynauds Disease Essay
Raynaud s Disease
Few people are aware of Raynaud s disease even though it is a fairly common condition.
Raynaulds Disease is also referred to as Raynauld s phenonmenon. Raynaud s is a condition in
which cold temperatures or stress cause blood vessel spasms that block blood flow to fingers,
toes, nose, and ears. This causes these body parts to suddenly turn ice cold and to become a purple
or blue color. Later when the blood flow becomes normal the area turns a reddish color and later
returns to normal. There are two types of Raynaud s Disease, primary Raynaud s disease and
secondary Raynaud s disease. Primary Raynaud s is when a person has no other cause or condition.
Secondary Raynaud s is when there is another condition that ... Show more content on

People with Raynaud s may not know that they actually have it. Raynaud s phenomenon has been
seen with a lot of conditions. These conditions include rheumatic diseases such as sclerrodero and
rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Hormone imbalance trauma, like
Frostbite and the use of vibrating tools (like a jack hammer) can provoke Raynads. Some
medications such as estrogens, cancer treatments and nicotine can cause Raynauds to onset. Here
are some signs and tests to see if you have Raynaud s or another disease. The doctor will perform
a physical exam, vascular ultrasound, and a cold simulation test. Different blood tests can also be
done but there is no specific blood test that confirms Raynauds. The blood testing is done to
diagnose other conditions typically associated with Raynaulds.
3 There are lifestyle changes that may help people with Raynaud s disease. Smoking makes
Raynauds worse. If someone has Raynauds they should not smoke or use nicotine in any way. If
the person is taking medications that cause the blood vessels to spasm or tighten they should take a
different medication, if there is one available.
Stop smoking, avoid caffeine, avoid medications (if not life threatening) that can cause tightening
or spasms of the blood vessels, avoid the cold in any way, and always wear shoes and socks
outside in cold weather. Patients with persistent or bothersome

Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck
Have you ever realized that John Steinbeck talked about Religion in his book Grapes of Wrath?
Well, if your answer is NO, let me inform you that Steinbeck did talk about Religion in his book.
There are many similarities in John Steinbeck s Grapes of Wrath and Christ s story. In The Grapes
of Wrath, Steinbeck presents religion in different ways ranging from Jim Casy s similarities to
Christ, the use of Christian theology, and the symbolism of some characters as pastors. Throughout
his book, Steinbeck recounts the great depressionera and its effects on proletariats. The major
theme throughout this book is the role of Christianity in the society. Marxism is a better
theoretical lens to utilize for this paper because the book itself contains several Marxist key terms.
By applying the Marxist theory on Steinbeck s book Grapes of Wrath, we can better understand
how he uses Christian theology to advance his critiques of capitalism.
Marxism is a literary theory that was developed by Karl Marx and his colleague Friedrich
Engels. According to Karl Marx, human history is made of physical things as well as a variety
of struggles between social classes: the lower class (oppressed) and the middle class
(oppressing). There are two most common and important key terms used in the Marxist theory:
bourgeoisie, which often refers to the middle class; those who own business or have a better life
and proletariat, which refers to lower or working class; those who have to work for others in

The Country Of South Africa
South Africa, a nation that is located at the tip of the African Continent. The economy of South
Africa is based almost completely on mining and the production of minerals. With a rich history of
colonization and independence, along with a fight for freedom. Widely diverse with many
ethnicities and languages, the people come from many different places into one.
The capital of South Africa is Pretoria, the city has a population of 1,209,000 as of 2005. Two
other major cities in South Africa are Cape Town and Johannesburg with populations of 3,103,000
and 3,228,000 as of 2005. South Africa is located south of Botswana and Zimbabwe, to the
Southwest of Namibia and to the Southeast of Mozambique. To the East is the Indian Ocean, to the
West is the Atlantic Ocean, and to the South is the confluence of the two oceans. It is about twice
the size of Texas. The physical makeup of the nation is that there are the Eastern and Western
Plateau Slopes along with the Kalahari Basin starting in the South and ending in the North Central
region. Located in the East lies a mountain range by the name of the Drakensberg Mountains, tallest
of which is Mt. Injastu. The Western Cape province is very fertile, producing citrus fruits and
grapes. The two most important rivers in the country are the Orange and the Limpopo Rivers. In the

The Design Philosophy Of Antoni Rovira I Trias
The Sant Antoni Market is one of the most popular and architecturally brilliant markets in
Barcelona. Originally designed by Antoni Rovira i Trias, an architect and urban planner who
publically favored the destruction of walls in Barcelona and supported free growth in the city.
Trias was a very outspoken architect and called for a change in the way Barcelonashould be
urbanized and he actually won the competition, in 1859, for the design of the expansion of the
city. However, the central Spanish government in Madrid favored Cerda s plan instead.
Nevertheless, Trias continued with his work as an architect and he designed the markets of La
Concepcio in 1885, the Born in 1873, and most importantly for this research paper, the San Antoni
market completed in 1882. Throughout this research paper, I will be analyzing the design
philosophy of Rovira i Trias in his works particularly the Sant Antoni market and how it... Show

The market was made the unofficial center of the neighborhood and apartment buildings, houses,
other shops just started popping up around the market. The market was a perfect starting point
and center of a neighborhood because it was pragmatic to surround yourselves around basic
necessities such as food, drink, clothes, and other appliances and entertainment like they had in
the market. The locals were the major users of the market at first because it was right in the
middle of everything so it was easy to get to and it had everything they needed. They would either
use the market or go by the market every day and the sidewalks would be packed with people.
Eventually, the market began seeing some international interest. When people from other countries
would travel to Barcelona they would either stay in the Sant Antoni neighborhood or at least go and
visit the Sant Antoni market because it was such a popular

Royal Caribbean s Anthem Of The Seas
On February 2016, Royal Caribbean s Anthem of the Seas set sail off the East Coast of New
Jersey with more than 6,000 passengers and 1,500 crew member on board (Almasy, 2016). The
passenger ship sailed into a storm which threatened the lives and safety of everybody on board.
According to CNN and other new agencies, a lawsuit was filed in a Miami federal court alleging
the captain s negligence in sailing into a well publicized and forecasted storm. In another case,
Royal Caribbean s Explorer of the Seas was on a 10 day cruise in January when a fast moving
bug left nearly 700 passengers and crew stricken with vomiting and diarrhea. The CDC reports that
this is the highest number of sick people reported on any cruise shipin two decades. Yet, in another
report, the Eastern Star went down during a storm killing more than 450 people. It s the
deadliest boat disaster in China in almost 70 years Cruise Line Safety: In the last 5 years
approximately 1000 people have died on cruise ships which ran aground or sank (Ahmed, 2016).
Ironically, there are a lot of people who will never get to experience of going on a cruise because
of the fear driven by reports like the aforementioned. In actuality, cruise vacations have a higher
percentage of satisfied customers than any other vacation experience. There are a number of

were the words that soared out of Wallace s mouth at the end of the trial. It was then that Henry

aspect of the witnesses, and not by the actual guilt. Not only my defense, but also the defense of

Davidson, Jasper Culver, and Dr. John C. Bates were called to the stand to prove that Henry Wirz
was guilty. Fortunately, these three witnesses have testified Wirz as being not guilty.
One of the witnesses was James H. Davidson Davidson was a prisoner at the camp who was
called to the stand to testify about the dogs. He stated that the dogs in Andersonville were very
harmful and had wounded, or had even killed, some of the Union soldiers. When being asked
questions by Chipman, the attorney for prosecution, Davidson stated that the prisoners who
tried to escape were mauled by the dogs. He also said that Wirz watched and cheered as the dogs
were attacking the soldiers saying, get those Yankee bastards! Why should this be Wirz s fault?
Why? Perhaps Davidson himself was not so close to the dog attack, because he himself was not
attacked; therefore, he cannot prove that it is Wirz s fault for the dogs. The man that was
dragged into the camp could have, indeed, survived. No one, I repeat no one, has proof that that
man had been killed. Lastly, many of the men had wounds on their bodies; but, why are the dogs
to blame? Those wounds and scratches could have been caused by something else other than those
dogs. Not only did many of these deaths come from the dogs, but a lot of the deaths came from the
deadline.
The deadline was a border along the Andersonville camp; if an individual crossed the deadline,

Clock And Bones
Clock and Bones Western civilization in the early 1900 s was plagued with wars. The evolution
of modern art exploded in the 20th century, from Realism to Surrealism. A time in history where
art was a man s world, women finally got their chance to show their true colors. In 1931 with The
Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali (1904 1989) to 1941 with Red Hills and Bones by
Georgia O Keeffe (1887 1986); two important painters of this time period, who styles are night
and day along with their personalities but very similar in their love of landscape and passion for
their work. The Persistence of Memory, often called just clocks, is widely regarded as a Surrealist
masterpiece and is a very famous painting by the Spaniard, Salvador Dali, one of the most enigmatic
artists of the twentieth century. The clocks melting represent the irrelevance of time, and the
oddities found within the painting, like the creature with human eyelashes, exemplifies his
outlandish subject matter Surrealism the principles, ideals, or practice of producing fantastic or
incongruous imagery or effects in art, literature, film, or theater by means of unnatural or irrational

Poverty Effect On Poverty
A few Fridays ago in the west end of downtown, Davenport I was walking into my friend s house
with her son Bentley. The first thing we always do is talk about his school day. He got very
excited and threw a big, brown sack at me. I slowly opened it up and realized it was a heavily
packed lunch bag. Bentley went on to explain that his school sends food home with all the
children on the weekends, because most of them cannot afford much to eat, especially on the
weekends. I had never seen a school that went out of its way to help children that are in such
desperate need. I wish all school districts went above and beyond like Bentley s does; however
that is not always the case. Across the United States, elementary school employees/officials need to
be more actively aware of the impact povertyhas on young children s academics. Children living
in poverty are offered a wide range of resources in regards to malnutrition. Quindlen specifies, 15
million students get free or cut rate lunches at school, and many of them get breakfast, too
(School s out for Summer). Young children that receive good, balanced, nutritional meals are
more likely to attend school as well as have better study habits than those that don t receive the
necessary nourishment. For the most part, in communities that can afford to give poverty stricken
families free or reduced lunch there is almost always an option for children to get fed during the
week at school. Another reliable resource that many elementary schools offer is free lunches for
students as well as their families during the summer to ensure that children eat at least once a day
while school is out. Walczak stresses, in an area where many students receive free or reduced price
school lunches, providing a solution for lunch during the summer is essential to the children s well
being (No School Shouldn t). All teachers/school officials should try to encourage children living in
poor situations to always eat when they can, because it encourages good performance in school.
Although nutrition is very important for a young child to maintain having good hygieneis imperative
to success in students as well. Lack of hygiene due to living in poverty can be helped if the

In The Heart Of The Sea Analysis
In the time of The Essex and In the Heart of the Sea, Nantucket had a population of about 7,000,
most of the population living along a road on a rising hill marked with windmills and church
steeples. At the waterfront, four large docks extended more than 100 yards into the sea from the
harbor. Tied up to these docks were typically 15 to 20 whaleships, along with dozens of other small
fishing boats and ships that carried trade goods to and from the island. The first whalingboats were
only 20 feet long, launched from beaches along the island s south shore. Usually a boat would
comprise of five Wampanoag (Nantucket Natives) and a white man steering the boat. These boats
were only used for whaling around the island, as the had to be rowed back... Show more content on

They found their new target in that of the sperm whale. The oil found in the sperm whale s
blubber was far superior to that of the right whale found around Nantucket, providing a brighter
and cleaner burning light, but its block shaped head contained a much larger reservoir of this
oil. This is where the wealth of the island came from, nowadays Nantucket has a population of
about 20,000 which, during the summer, increases to about 50,000. The evidence of the island s
former glory can still be seen along the upper reaches of the town s Main Street, where the
cobbles dip and rise like the sea and where the houses evoke the humble spirituality of the island s
Quaker past. The whaling business of the 1800 s gave Nantucket it s incredible wealth. An average
house in Nantucket costs more than in other vacation destinations such as Long Island s Hamptons,
with much of the population living there only part time. Nantucket still has a large pull towards
the ocean, with a large harbor and fishing boats coming and going. Yet whaling is a thing of the
past due to fishing regulations and laws, so without this Nantucketers embrace the island s past and
head to the sea in hopes of the biggest fish they can

The Bitch Manifesto By Joreen Freeman
Feminist Movements started long before 1960, with the advancement of women earning the
right to vote. However, it did not stop with that change. There were many other items that the
women in history hoped to change, not only to better their own lives, but also the women of the
future. With the use of many documents, such as flyers, letters, and boycotts, women of the past
changed many different aspects of life for women in the world today. Boycotting the Miss
America Pageant in 1968 and 1969, circulating flyers around America, was just the beginning of
this second movement. They also used to write to convey their thoughts. One of which was
titled The Bitch Manifesto and was written in 1968 by Joreen Freeman. The second was a spin
off from a children s book entitled There was a Young Women Who Swallowed a lie which was
written in 1970 by Meredith Tax. Slavery Exists! Reported by a flyer that circulated around
America in 1968. At this time, slavery as we remember was over, so to many at the time, what the
women were proclaiming may have been confusing to some. This circulated around before the Miss
America pageant. The Washington Women s Liberation were portraying the pageant to slavery
because Miss America was a slave to cultural norms of the time, the image of sex, virginal
prettiness, glory of war, mindless conformity, acceptance of racism, cult of youth, the competitive
spirit, and the capitalistic system. With this flyer, they were hoping to gather others who

A Short Note On Silent And Oral Modes Of Learning
Introduction: The focus of this Investigation Project is Remembering and Forgetting, specifically
Memory. Memory is often defined as the processing, storage and retrieval of information acquired
through learning. (Grivas, 2013, 263). The Von Restorff effect also known as the Isolation effect
is a form of a Memory bias in favour of remembering the unusual. It predicts that if an item is
isolated, that item is learned faster, retained longer, and recalled better than a non isolated item
(Homes, C. Arbogast, R., 1979) Previous researchon the Isolation effect has focussed on which
conditions the isolate is more recalled in. I Ning Huang and Craig Wille (1979) conducted

Outliers The Story Of Success By Malcolm Gladwell
One can say that being successful is based on your actions and how you prepare for the future. In
Outliers: The Story of Success , written by Malcom Gladwell, he stated that many factors come
into play regarding the success of an individual. In regards to Mike Honda, He was a
congressman from, California and spent his early years in a Japanese internment camp. Whether if
the person was talented or not, Gladwell made intelligent observations when thinking about
successfulness. I completely agree with Gladwell on most of the points that he made and I believe
that if most of the guidelines such as the 10,000 hour rule, advantageous era of birth etc... are
followed, then one will have the opportunity to be successful. But not all of what Gladwell stated
like the Matthew Effect (Wright P, 2003), are needed to become successful.
Throughout the book, Gladwell talks about how culture family and ones upbringing can determine

[47] Chemical modifications of the natural products have produced several clinically important
semisynthetic rifamycins with improved pharmacological profiles. SARs are highlighted in the
figure below. Pyrazinamide is one of the analog of nicotinamides and shares the same root with
isoniazid. It can be only activated under acidic condition. There are two ways of the SAR tracks,
which are the activation of the pyrazinamidase (PZase) and also the target interaction of the
resulting acid. [46] In the study of Structure activity relationship, the R1 groups contribute to
two important functions: i. The activated species of pyrazinamide, pyrazinoic acid is usually in
its anionic form at physiological pH. Thus, it is not permeable or bioavailable. With R1 group, it
can masks the acid group and makes the drug permeable to cell membranes. [46] ii. The killing
effect of pyrazinoic acid is unlikely a selective process. The presence of R1 group will cause the
selective removal of R1 group by M.tuberculosis and other bacteria. Hence, this will lead to desired
selectivity of the drug.

An Explanation Of The Word Ghetto
Nicole, I really enjoyed your post. The word ghetto stems from when European cities in which
the Jews were restricted, and later used to describe a slum section of an American city,
predominantly occupied by a minority group who live under social and economic pressures. The
word represents an institutional and historical basis of racial exclusion. The word ghetto also has
a particular racial component, and defines those associated with the word as being represented by
social isolation, residential segregation, gross inequality, consistent poverty, and crime. Delinquent
behavior from those considered to be poor or lower class may actually be a protest against the
norms and values of the middle class, per theorist Cohen. In addition, their

The Importance And Influence Of The Romanesque Era
Taking a journey through the historical time line of the past, it is clear to see that change
occurs. Some periods illustrate more change than others, some of them are of greater influence
than the period before it, and then there are those that are not only influential from an art
perspective, but also from the perspective of the styles ability to spread across a whole region. A
period that specifically displayed this capability was the Romanesque era. The Romanesque era
was a period in time which was actually not based on the premise of geographical location or
political stance, but more on the premise of the artistry and architectural design during that time
(Kleiner, 2014). It is suggested that the influence of the Romanesque artistic styles was largely
due to the volume of pilgrimages that were taking place in search of sacred cover and the outcome
of the crusades during this time (Petzold, 2017). This era did not only provide one influential style
across the region, but many such as, church architecture, architectural structures, sculptures,
paintings, and decorations; all of which can be considered Romanesque art (Kleiner, 2014). Of the
Romanesque era, each piece of art even from different countries of origin were affected by the
economy, politics, and religious influence or concern, yet regardless each had a unique presence
that represented the Romanesque period. One of the potential biggest influences over the
Romanesque period and its style was largely due to the

Supernatural in Shakespeare s Macbeth
The Witches and Lady Macbeth Cause the Downfall of Macbeth William Shakespeare s tragic
play, Macbeth shows the gradual descent of the character Macbeth into the moral abyss. Macbeth s
yearning for power draws him to the murder of King Duncan, Banquo, and Macduff s family. It is
difficult to understand how a courageous, gentle man such as Macbeth, could be involved in such
villainous activities. In truth, it was the witches and Lady Macbeth that transformed into evil
Macbeth s natural desire for control and authority. The play, Macbeth clearly illustrates that wicked
intention must, in the end, produce wicked action. Shakespeare focuses on Macbeth s courage early
in the play. For example, Duncan and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!/ All hail, Macbeth! That shalt be King hereafter (I.iii.52 57)
When Macbeth hears this prophecy, many questions instantly run through his head. He begins to
wonder, What are they talking about and how will I become king? Macbeth does not entirely
trust the witches, for he does identify them with evil. The foretelling of the witches sparks the
plot of the murder. The sparks burst into flame when Lady Macbeth hears of the prophecy. Lady
Macbeth is canny and masterful as she propels Macbeth to kill Duncan. She binds Macbeth s
attention to the throne of Scotland, but never to the severity of the crime. Lady Macbeth is clever
when she constantly urges Macbeth to forget about his torments and the brutal death he has
caused. Before the actual murder, Macbeth is shrouded with fear; Banquo can see it on his face.
Although Banquo does not know about the planned murder, he asks, Good sir, why do you start,
and seem to fear/ Things that do sound so fair (I.iii.58 59)? Macbeth ponders what would happen if
the murder scheme fails, and discusses this possibility with his wife. As Macbeth struggles with
fear in the presence of Lady Macbeth, she constantly reassures him that there is nothing to fear and
that the murder will be for the better. This fear demonstrates that Macbeth realizes the difference
between right and wrong, good and evil, and the consequences thereof. However, the

The Gospel Of Matthew s Gospel
The Gospel of Matthew historically was thought to be the first Gospel written, followed by the
Gospel of St. Mark. Early church historians believed that Matthew was one of the twelve Apostles.
Gospel of Matthew according to biblical historians came from the Gospel of Mark. Gospels of
Matthew written before the destruction of Temple in Jerusalem in seventy AD.
Matthew was a tax collector and as a tax collector considered a sinner by members of the Jewish
community. Sinners, because they were unclean, were to be avoided. Being a tax collector
Matthew would have known Greek and Hebrew to be able commutate with Roman and Jewish
people. To understand the Gospel of Matthew you need to know he is a Jew and because Matthew
use of Old Testament Scripture.
In fact, one of the primary purpose of this Gospel may have been attempt to link the story of Jesus
with the history of Israel. Any reader of Matthew who wants to go deeply into this Gospel must be
alert to its Jewish background.
Understanding that Matthew makes the point, the Jesus is the fulfillment of all the promise in the
Old Testament. Matthew use Old Testament scriptures to point to Christ as the promised Messiah
to the Jewish people. Matthew uses the Old Testament Scriptures of Isaiah to point to Jesus Christ
as the fulfillment of the covenant with God.
Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel . (Is 7:14 RSV)

Speech Freedom Of Speech
Freedom of speech in school is necessary because it provides students with a voice, it provides
motivation , it causes less violence.
The First Amendment is very important and is needed in school because it can be use to the
students advantage in school and later in life, an article from learning to appreciate the first
amendment such an environment likely would allow students to talk freely about important and
controversial issues in the classroom. But it could also allow students to address these issues these
issues through their art, their clothing and theater performances, and in their after school
organizations. (Ralston). and environment would allow the students to express themselves freely
The students also appreciate Freedom of speech and the first amendment if it is regularly practiced
...students are more likely to appreciate and understand their free speech rights if they actually use
those rights in high school. (Ralston)There is also a decrease in violence because the students can
voice their opinions and protest. The First Amendment it s purpose is to give the people a voice,
how can students voice their opinions if teachers and staff restrict the students voices? It is
important as citizens to follow the constitution as guidance,It s just as important to have teens and
young adults to speak freely.Teens and young adults want to have their opinion valued as much as
an older adult s opinion. As teens are growing into a young adult they seek more responsibility and
to be trusted more.Teens and young adults are given little to no option with how they can voice
their opinion because schools find some topics triggering and disrespectful even though schools
tend to think this, These topics that are triggering are real life problems and will happen at one
point in someone s life and the students feel the responsibility to cover these topics with other
classmates.Violence in the outside world is a definite threat to the students because hate speech
against race, color, sexuality and gender the students feel the need to inform others of these problems
but due to the schooling system they are not allowed to speak about it without getting in trouble for

In the absence of peace, there is conflict. This might lead to war between countries if conflict is not

greatest problem facing many nations is international relation. Countries have failed to live like
decent neighbors. There is disunity among many nations. War between nations is caused by
mistrust and tension. Nations purchase arms to stock their armory. Major inventions are made daily

countries are always in mistrust of each other. It also explains that there is constant tension between

As times progressed there was an uprising in Lebanon as the Palestinian opposed Israel rule, In
1978 Palestine attacked Hezbollah. Israel felt invaded and led an offensive attack o Lebanon.
Israel attacked Lebanon and went as far as capturing Beirut. The prime target was to bomb Yasser
Arafat locations. During this invasion, Israel declared southern Lebanon as a security zone.
During these attacks, there were deaths on both sides. The greatest casualties were the children.
Israel came to withdraw its security forces from southern Lebanon in May 2000. Another serious
crisis came to be in 1980s. This was the intifada. A group of young Palestinians confronted Israeli
troops with sling shots and stones. The outcome was not acceptable and many of the youth were
shot dead. To lay an offensive attack, the Palestinians used suicide bombers to kill the Israeli
troops. Many innocent civilians were killed from both sides.
In 1993 the Oslo peace accord was made. In this accord Israel accepted to recognize the
Palestinian liberal organisation (PLO). They were also to give the PLO limited autonomy. The
conditions were that PLO were to end a Palestinian claims on Israel territory. The accord was
met with different reaction across the world. It was seen as a one sided accord which favored only
the Israelites. The accord gave Israel the control of land, water, roads and other resources. This

A Report On The World
The Glyptodon is one of the best in my opinion of the reinforced armored animals that proceeded
onto the Americas; they are found from the Eocene Epoch to the Pleistocene through Holocene
Epoch. During the Pleistocene, these herbivorous animals reached their great evolutionary changes
due to some forced adaptation. They were large mammmals, reaching in body size from several
hundred kilograms to two hundred kilograms; they were the size of a small volts wagon beetle and
possessed amazing features with no comparison among living animals at that time that made
Glyptodon a peculiar specimen. Some features include having an immobile back bone/spine (that
connects to the neck); hypselodont teeth made of an outside layer of some type of hard cement like
product known as cementum, a tougher outer shell and a unique skull.
Geology
Glyptodon is speculated to have come from South America. Their fossil has been found in Brazil,
Uruguay and Argentina. Glyptodon fossils discovered in Brazil, consist of clavipes (genus type)
had the largest array. Its distribution includes north, northeast, and southeast Brazil. Glyptodon
reticulatus another genus fossil has only been discovered in southern Brazil. Glyptodon has also
been other places such as Bolivia, Paraguay and western Uruguay lately have been discovered.
Fossil linked to Glyptodon in northeast Brazil has been connected to Glyptotherium (genus Of
Glyptodon), limiting the circulation of Glyptodon to the southern region of Brazil.

The, Moral, And Moral Relativism
On the perfectionist account there exists an established categorization of the moral status of
conscious persons or beings. The moral perfectionist maintains that morality is hierarchical, which
is to say that they hold that differentially weighted considerations should be given to different
beings depending on the level to which they possess certain characteristics. For example,
throughout the history of western philosophy one of the most popularly touted of the
characteristics of higher order moral agents has been the possession of formal language. Consider,
then, the non humananimal from this perspective from a Heideggarian perspective, if you will.
According to Heidegger (2001), the Animal does not die; it merely perishes and is,... Show more

It is meant to show that animality is the metaphysical candle which casts a shadow over whatever
being is to be made morally incomparable to the Human. To substantiate this claim we can consider
that from the historical perspective, the subjugation of humans from women, slaves, the cognitively
and physically disabled, to the ethnic or religious minority has been accompanied by attempts to
ensure that they are animalized . By attempts to ensure that they are excluded from the moral
community a delegation attributed to their lack of the fundamental features or qualities of moral
agents. Fortunately, though not necessarily consistently, in the Western liberal modernity, such
animalized individuals have come to be afforded the same rights as other members of the human
community, despite their lack of many of the qualities which have typically been used to affirm the
moral importance of a human being. Again, although this is a fortunate transition, it is rather
inconsistent one if we are to reflect on the ways in which we typically distinguish the Animal from
the Human. Indeed, if we are to suggest that all humans have some sort of inherent rights either
ascribed or discovered it does not seem unreasonable to suggest that such possessions must be
predicated on the presence or absence of

Pan1 And Genetic Domain Structures
In contrast to Sc, Ca, and Mo that share the Pan1 Las17/Bee1 endocytic pathway, Cn appears to
adopt a distinct Cin1 Wsp1 endocytic pathway for transport, growth, and virulence [22]. Both Cin1
and Wsp1 display domain structures similar, but not identical, to human ITSN1 and WASp than to
Sc/Ca Pan1 and Las17/Bee1 [23, 24]. These findings suggest a unique intracellular transport process
occurring in Cn and raise several important questions. As endocytic proteins function by interacting
with other partner proteins, what are the other binding partners of Cin1 in the pathway? Does Cin1
mediated endocytic pathway contribute to specific virulence characteristics? We are uniquely
positioned to address these critical questions.

The intriguing finding that Cin1 S confers a CNS survival advantage provides a novel avenue to
probe the CNS propensity of Cn. Finally, given the importance of exRNA in intercellular cellular
communication, it is tempting to speculate that Cin1 regulates uptake and export of exRNA to play
a role in host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis. Because of our recent advances, we believe
we may possess an unprecedented system to probe the mechanism of pathogenesis in Cn.
C. Approach Cn is a haploid budding yeast with a well defined life cycle. It also has proven to be
a tractable research model in which classical and molecular approaches, as well as both in vitro
and in vivo models, are available for studying host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis. In
addition, genomic and proteomic approaches including microarray, whole transcriptome shotgun
sequencing (RNA Seq), and proteomics have all been employed to study pathogenesis of Cn [35

us to pursue our research goals.
In Cn, Cin1 is required for the endocytic transport of the lipophilic styryl dye FM4 64, normal
morphology, proper localization of a Lac1 DsRed fusion protein, mating, and the production of
capsule, urease, and phospholipases [22]. Cin1 also regulates the actin cytoskeleton upstream of the

Deception In The Inferno And Boccaccio s The Deccameron
The theme of lying and deception reoccur frequently throughout Dante s, The Inferno and
Boccaccio s, The Decameron. In Dante s, The Inferno we meet Geryon, a monster who leads Dante
and Virgil into the eighth circle of hell. Dante believes that committing fraud and deception are the
worst sin s and he illustrates that through Geryons physical traits, and where Geryon leads them,
Malebolge. In Malebolge, the eighth circle of hell, Dante further illustrates the themes of lies and
deception by the sinners he meets and the stories he is told. The themes of lies and deception are
prevalent not only through the Infernobut, also through Boccaccio s, The Decameron. Throughout
The Decameron, Boccaccio uses lies and deception to build his hero s throughout the stories.
The first story takes the theme of lies and deception and shows them through the character,
Ciappelletto. Ciappelletto lies his way to heaven and ends up being praised by a city upon
death, although his whole life he has been a sinner. Boccaccio often uses lies and deception to
lead the characters to heaven, compared to Dante who sees how lies and deception have led the
characters to hell. Throughout both texts the theme of lies and deception are prevalent and play
a significant role in both stories. In Dante s, The Inferno, lies and deception are represented
strongly through the monster Geryon. Geryon has many deceiving characteristics that represent
lying and fraud. Dante describes Geryon as, His face is appealing like that of an honest man,
but his body end in a scorpion like stinger. (Dante 223) Geryon has the face of an innocent man,
which represents your typical person committing fraud, like we see in big business today. His
scorpion like tail represents the downside to these businessmen because even though they look
good at first, they are going to come back and sting you, by committing fraud against you. Geryon
takes Vigil and Dante from the seventh circle of hell into the final circle of hell, Malebolge. In
Malebolge, Dante and Virgilmeet many sinners who have committed the act of fraud, all of the
sinners are punished in unique ways depending on what type of fraud they committed. The sinners

Art and Sculpture
Art has improved and changed greatly over time but Greek legacy of art and sculpture remains
renowned and is of great importance to many. Greece has arguably some of the best artworks and
sculptors of the world and this has influenced many other countries.
During the 5th and 6th centuries B.C there had been an improvement in sculpting and art this was
the Classical era. This revolution showed amazing results, the sculptures were no longer stiff and
rigid like the Egyptian models(appendix 1) they had scaled and perfectly measured shapes. The
Greeks successfully created and used the golden ratio and vital or useful tool used in sculpting.
Ancient Greeks had used these geometrical equations to create the perfect statues.

Greece were mixed and used all around the word ruining its originality but despite this it still

This was revealed when the Ai Khanoum in Afghanistan was excavated and certain artifacts were

Peeking Behind the Masks In Cold Blood, Streetcar Named Desire, and Fences
In life, we all attempt to project some kind of personality to others. We have a mask we wear in
different situations, but when times get tough, we eventually discard our masks and become our
true selves. We don t live behind our masks until the tragic end, like the characters of In Cold Blood
by Truman Capote, Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, and Fences by August Wilson.
The three characters, Perry Smith, Blanche DuBois, and Troy Maxson wore masks to their bitter
endings, always trying to fool everyone else. When times got tough, they had to face themselves,

Harris states that DuBois masks her life. She doesn t want to face what she really is. The worst
horror for her in her mind is for anyone else to see her true self.
The audience does see it almost right away, and they know from the first representation of
DuBois that they are in for something else. Williams sets up DuBois scenes so the audience can
quickly ascertain her true personality. The audience is, however, aware that baths and light bulbs
have a meaning for Blanche apart from their functional existence (Corrigan 575). Mary Ann
Corrigan writes that DuBois is far from perfect, and the audience can see just that in her drinking
of alcohol and her slight comments towards her sister and brother in law (575). Yet, the whole
time she is hiding behind her mask, she tells everyone she only has a drink once in a while, and
she needs her baths to relax.
The audience cannot mistake that Dubois does know who she really is, and what her situation
holds for her. For this reason, she chooses to hide behind her mask of a southern belle, with her old
dresses, rituals, and paper shaded light bulbs (Vogel 505).

furious that his niece was married outside the community. Some people from the village apparently
provoked Ganesh for vested interests. It was insinuated that Kashibai had sold her daughter for
money. A woman sarpanch from the Yadav community was also accused of taking money for the
deal.
On May 2, the news hit the headlines of all major newspapers and local TV channels. The media
alleged that Kashibai had taken Rs 1 lakh to sell Bhagwati. Soon, the local administration and
police sprung into action. A team of the women s empowerment cell visited the village. Bhagwati
was rescued from her in law s house and brought back to her maternal

Non-Pathological Anxiety
Non Pathological Anxiety or Normal Anxiety is something that everyone experience at some
points of their lives. The situations we face, the people around us etc. are some of the factors that
cause anxiety in us. It is our body s normal reaction to the stress that we experience on a daily
basis. It is, in fact, essential to be anxious at certain times, as it helps us stay cautious in situations
that can be potentially dangerous.
One of the most common situations where we face anxiety is when our abilities are tested. Let it be
examinations, competitions, sports or interviews, our desire to succeed or prove ourselves often
make us anxious, and this anxiety often influences our performance in that event or situation. Also,
this anxiety level ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of our decisions and actions are often influenced by this particular factor. One s innate need to
fit in with or oppose the societal norms often causes anxiety within him or her. A study conducted
on 76 female Chinese undergraduate students, confirmed this, as high levels of anxiety and mind
wandering was observed in them when they were put under a stereotype threat of men being better
than women in mathematics (Feng, Hong, Lu, Tian, Yu and Zheng, 2015). This shows how social
norms influence one s thoughts and actions. Further supporting the fact that people around us
influence our thoughts and emotions, a comparisonal study conducted between deaf students and
students with normal hearing showed how deaf children showed less peer attachment and thereby
less social anxiety than the children with normal hearing (Feng, Hong, Lu, Tian, Yu and Yu, 2015).
This was due to the fact that the deaf children were often overprotected by their parents, and
therefore had restricted social interactions (Li and Prevatt, 2010). In another study, it was found that
this system works both ways i.e. a person s anxiety levels affects his or her identity development
too. It was found that adolescents with higher anxiety levels had issues more issues with identity
formation related tasks. Also, such adolescents had more difficulties in forming commitments

Little Miss Sunshine Stereotypes
Little Miss Sunshine When we think about beauty pageants, we think about beautifully tanned
girls with beautiful glittery makeup, a perfect physique and teeth to match, extravagant glitzy
dresses, over the top hair, and not to add someone with an extraordinary talent. However, the
iconic film Little Miss Sunshine completely shatters that stereotypical view that we have of the
pageant as well as changes our view on how families function. Little Miss Sunshine is a film
about an 8 year old girl named Olive Hoover, who is obsessed with being in pageants and is
looking to become the next miss America, Olive gets the opportunity to participate in a national
competition after the girl who was supposed to compete in her place has to drop out of the... Show

One moral is that you should never give up on yourself and never give up no matter how
turbulent things may get. This moral was exercised in many scenes throughout the entire film
such as in the beginning of the film we see Richard giving a motivational speech to a sparse
group of people, the message being to never give up. When he comes home for dinner he gives
everyone at family dinner a speech on how it is a dreadful thing to be a loser. Before they set off
to Redondo Beach he also asks Olive if she thinks she will be able to win the competition
because if she doesn t have any faith in herself they may as well not even waste time traveling to
the pageant. The film conveys this message in a comical way (the breaks not working on the car,
Frank running into his ex while buying porn, and the family bickering) as well as in an
emotional way such as when Grandpa Edwin passes away and Dwayne finding out that he is
color blind. The mixing of these two elements (comedy and evoking sadness) in my opinion
make the genre of this film a dark comedy or it could just be classified as a comedy drama. Going
off of that, the film shows that being a winner doesn t just mean being the best at something. Olive
was poised to be the underdog for the entire film. We, the viewers as well as Olive s family knew
that Olive wasn t comparable to her competition, however, Olive did not let that stop her and she
continued her routine

The Buckthorn
The Buckthorn (Rhamnus catharica), a shrub found in parts of the United States and Canada, is
known for being a non native invasive species. In this study, research was done to explain how
the Buckthorn manipulates the soil in order to dominate the woodland ecosystems it is found
in. The study was carried out in a 10 acre woodland area in the Skokie Preserve of Lake Forest,
Illinois. Newly fallen leaves were collected from dominant trees in the area: Hill s Oak (Quercus
ellipsoidalis), Wild Cherry (Prunus serotine), Cottonwood (Populus deltoids) and the Buckthorn.
Three grams of air dried leaves of each species were placed into litterbags that allowed access to
microarthropods. Another litterbag had a combination of all the leaves matching

What Is The Theme Of Escape From Camp 14
Everyone has someone who will help in every situations. Who care about you. And you thought
of him/her as someone as a people who helped you climb the ladder of survival. And without his
you could have never survived. There is a book called Escape from Camp 14 which was written
by Blaine Harden. Shin was a boy who lived in camp 14 which was a political camp. People in
these camp where people who had commit sin and people believe these sins are passed down so
they even caught children who had done nothing. Shin was one of those prisoners. Shin s life was
quite hard because they had to work under harsh conditions and were not fed well which was a
common cause of Malnutrition. People in the prisoneronly lived for themself so people caring about

He went to tell his teacher but his teacher had already went home so he told a night guard. Next
morning shin was blind folded and taken to an underground facility. There he was interrogated. He
was astounded by hearing the question. He was asked did you know about your mother and
brother trying to escape. He was confused because he was the one who told the guard. Then he
figured it out that the guard took all the credit. Shin was tortured by the guard to reveal that he
knew about their escape. He was thrown in a cell after the tortue. Shin was only able to crawl to
his food because of the torture from the guards. While shin was recovering from his injuire Kim
jin myung held him recover. He is preferred to be called uncle. In meantime uncle became shin s
nurse. He rubbed salty cabbage soup into his wounds as a disinfectant . He massaged shin s legs
and arms. Shin thought without the help from Uncle he would not have been able to survive the
torture. It was Shin s first exposure to sustained kindness, and he was grateful beyond words. But he
also found it puzzling. He had not trusted his mother to keep him from starving (pg 63).And
supports my claim by showing that without the kindness and care from uncle he would have not

There were many fundamental factors that drew the Europeans to the exploration, conquest, and colonization of the World such as natural resources, overpopulation and religion. The European explorations have been hearing a lot about all the natural resources that the New World can offer to them. They wanted to travel and find the Far East for the gold, silk, spices, and possible crops that they may be able to bring back to Europe. What efforts were made to strengthen English control over the colonies in the seventeenth century, and why did they generally fail? After the civil wars that were going on in Europe, England tried to restore their authority on the colonies and make sure that throne was still powerful. After the British throne had been restored by Charles II, he wanted to be able to control his colonies more strictly. However, he was surprised that the orders he have made were not being followed in Massachusetts. The colonies were being taxed a lot by the English and they also sent out governors of their own to try to take charge of the colonies and made sure that the British laws were being enforced. Charles II wanted to continue the English rule in the New World and tried to overpower the colonies. It generally failed because the English were fighting civil wars themselves, and colonies were left insolated for many years. This can be argued in a good and bad way. The colonies started becoming independent and did not like the idea of being ruled under England anymore. They liked the idea that they were free from England s rule, which foreshadows ... Raynaud s is a condition in which cold temperatures or stress cause blood vessel spasms that block blood flow to fingers, toes, nose, and ears. This causes these body parts to suddenly turn ice cold and to become a purple or blue color. Later when the blood flow becomes normal the area turns a reddish color and later returns to normal. • 5. Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck Have you ever realized that John Steinbeck talked about Religion in his book Grapes of Wrath? Well, if your answer is NO, let me inform you that Steinbeck did talk about Religion in his book. There are many similarities in John Steinbeck s Grapes of Wrath and Christ s story. In The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck presents religion in different ways ranging from Jim Casy s similarities to Christ, the use of Christian theology, and the symbolism of some characters as pastors. Throughout his book, Steinbeck recounts the great depressionera and its effects on proletariats. The major theme throughout this book is the role of Christianity in the society. Marxism is a better theoretical lens to utilize for this paper because the book itself contains several Marxist key terms. By applying the Marxist theory on Steinbeck s book Grapes of Wrath, we can better understand how he uses Christian theology to advance his critiques of capitalism. Marxism is a literary theory that was developed by Karl Marx and his colleague Friedrich Engels. According to Karl Marx, human history is made of physical things as well as a variety of struggles between social classes: the lower class (oppressed) and the middle class (oppressing). There are two most common and important key terms used in the Marxist theory: bourgeoisie, which often refers to the middle class; those who own business or have a better life and proletariat, which refers to lower or working class; those who have to work for others in ... Trias was a very outspoken architect and called for a change in the way Barcelonashould be urbanized and he actually won the competition, in 1859, for the design of the expansion of the city. However, the central Spanish government in Madrid favored Cerda s plan instead. Nevertheless, Trias continued with his work as an architect and he designed the markets of La Concepcio in 1885, the Born in 1873, and most importantly for this research paper, the San Antoni market completed in 1882. • 13. Poverty Effect On Poverty A few Fridays ago in the west end of downtown, Davenport I was walking into my friend s house with her son Bentley. The first thing we always do is talk about his school day. He got very excited and threw a big, brown sack at me. I slowly opened it up and realized it was a heavily packed lunch bag. Bentley went on to explain that his school sends food home with all the children on the weekends, because most of them cannot afford much to eat, especially on the weekends. I had never seen a school that went out of its way to help children that are in such desperate need. I wish all school districts went above and beyond like Bentley s does; however that is not always the case. Across the United States, elementary school employees/officials need to be more actively aware of the impact povertyhas on young children s academics. Children living in poverty are offered a wide range of resources in regards to malnutrition. Quindlen specifies, 15 million students get free or cut rate lunches at school, and many of them get breakfast, too (School s out for Summer). Young children that receive good, balanced, nutritional meals are more likely to attend school as well as have better study habits than those that don t receive the necessary nourishment. For the most part, in communities that can afford to give poverty stricken families free or reduced lunch there is almost always an option for children to get fed during the week at school. Another reliable resource that many elementary schools offer is free lunches for students as well as their families during the summer to ensure that children eat at least once a day while school is out. Walczak stresses, in an area where many students receive free or reduced price school lunches, providing a solution for lunch during the summer is essential to the children s well being (No School Shouldn t). All teachers/school officials should try to encourage children living in poor situations to always eat when they can, because it encourages good performance in school. Although nutrition is very important for a young child to maintain having good hygieneis imperative to success in students as well. • 20. An Explanation Of The Word Ghetto Nicole, I really enjoyed your post. The word ghetto stems from when European cities in which the Jews were restricted, and later used to describe a slum section of an American city, predominantly occupied by a minority group who live under social and economic pressures. The word represents an institutional and historical basis of racial exclusion. The word ghetto also has a particular racial component, and defines those associated with the word as being represented by social isolation, residential segregation, gross inequality, consistent poverty, and crime. Delinquent behavior from those considered to be poor or lower class may actually be a protest against the norms and values of the middle class, per theorist Cohen. In addition, their ... • 21. The Importance And Influence Of The Romanesque Era Taking a journey through the historical time line of the past, it is clear to see that change occurs. Some periods illustrate more change than others, some of them are of greater influence than the period before it, and then there are those that are not only influential from an art perspective, but also from the perspective of the styles ability to spread across a whole region. A period that specifically displayed this capability was the Romanesque era. The Romanesque era was a period in time which was actually not based on the premise of geographical location or political stance, but more on the premise of the artistry and architectural design during that time (Kleiner, 2014). It is suggested that the influence of the Romanesque artistic styles was largely due to the volume of pilgrimages that were taking place in search of sacred cover and the outcome of the crusades during this time (Petzold, 2017). This era did not only provide one influential style across the region, but many such as, church architecture, architectural structures, sculptures, paintings, and decorations; all of which can be considered Romanesque art (Kleiner, 2014). Of the Romanesque era, each piece of art even from different countries of origin were affected by the economy, politics, and religious influence or concern, yet regardless each had a unique presence that represented the Romanesque period. One of the potential biggest influences over the Romanesque period and its style was largely due to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Supernatural in Shakespeare s Macbeth The Witches and Lady Macbeth Cause the Downfall of Macbeth William Shakespeare s tragic play, Macbeth shows the gradual descent of the character Macbeth into the moral abyss. Macbeth s yearning for power draws him to the murder of King Duncan, Banquo, and Macduff s family. It is difficult to understand how a courageous, gentle man such as Macbeth, could be involved in such villainous activities. In truth, it was the witches and Lady Macbeth that transformed into evil Macbeth s natural desire for control and authority. The play, Macbeth clearly illustrates that wicked intention must, in the end, produce wicked action. Shakespeare focuses on Macbeth s courage early in the play. For example, Duncan and the... That shalt be King hereafter (I.iii.52 57) When Macbeth hears this prophecy, many questions instantly run through his head. He begins to wonder, What are they talking about and how will I become king? Macbeth does not entirely trust the witches, for he does identify them with evil. The foretelling of the witches sparks the plot of the murder. The sparks burst into flame when Lady Macbeth hears of the prophecy. Lady Macbeth is canny and masterful as she propels Macbeth to kill Duncan. She binds Macbeth s attention to the throne of Scotland, but never to the severity of the crime. Lady Macbeth is clever when she constantly urges Macbeth to forget about his torments and the brutal death he has caused. Before the actual murder, Macbeth is shrouded with fear; Banquo can see it on his face. Although Banquo does not know about the planned murder, he asks, Good sir, why do you start, and seem to fear/ Things that do sound so fair (I.iii.58 59)? Macbeth ponders what would happen if the murder scheme fails, and discusses this possibility with his wife. As Macbeth struggles with fear in the presence of Lady Macbeth, she constantly reassures him that there is nothing to fear and that the murder will be for the better. This fear demonstrates that Macbeth realizes the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, and the consequences thereof. However, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. A Report On The World The Glyptodon is one of the best in my opinion of the reinforced armored animals that proceeded onto the Americas; they are found from the Eocene Epoch to the Pleistocene through Holocene Epoch. During the Pleistocene, these herbivorous animals reached their great evolutionary changes due to some forced adaptation. They were large mammmals, reaching in body size from several hundred kilograms to two hundred kilograms; they were the size of a small volts wagon beetle and possessed amazing features with no comparison among living animals at that time that made Glyptodon a peculiar specimen. Some features include having an immobile back bone/spine (that connects to the neck); hypselodont teeth made of an outside layer of some type of hard cement like product known as cementum, a tougher outer shell and a unique skull. Geology Glyptodon is speculated to have come from South America. Their fossil has been found in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Glyptodon fossils discovered in Brazil, consist of clavipes (genus type) had the largest array. Its distribution includes north, northeast, and southeast Brazil. Glyptodon reticulatus another genus fossil has only been discovered in southern Brazil. Glyptodon has also been other places such as Bolivia, Paraguay and western Uruguay lately have been discovered. The moral perfectionist maintains that morality is hierarchical, which is to say that they hold that differentially weighted considerations should be given to different beings depending on the level to which they possess certain characteristics. For example, throughout the history of western philosophy one of the most popularly touted of the characteristics of higher order moral agents has been the possession of formal language. Consider, then, the non humananimal from this perspective from a Heideggarian perspective, if you will. According to Heidegger (2001), the Animal does not die; it merely perishes and is,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is meant to show that animality is the metaphysical candle which casts a shadow over whatever being is to be made morally incomparable to the Human. To substantiate this claim we can consider that from the historical perspective, the subjugation of humans from women, slaves, the cognitively and physically disabled, to the ethnic or religious minority has been accompanied by attempts to ensure that they are animalized . By attempts to ensure that they are excluded from the moral community a delegation attributed to their lack of the fundamental features or qualities of moral agents. Fortunately, though not necessarily consistently, in the Western liberal modernity, such animalized individuals have come to be afforded the same rights as other members of the human community, despite their lack of many of the qualities which have typically been used to affirm the moral importance of a human being. Again, although this is a fortunate transition, it is rather inconsistent one if we are to reflect on the ways in which we typically distinguish the Animal from the Human. Indeed, if we are to suggest that all humans have some sort of inherent rights either ascribed or discovered it does not seem unreasonable to suggest that such possessions must be predicated on the presence or absence of ... • 35. Deception In The Inferno And Boccaccio s The Deccameron The theme of lying and deception reoccur frequently throughout Dante s, The Inferno and Boccaccio s, The Decameron. In Dante s, The Inferno we meet Geryon, a monster who leads Dante and Virgil into the eighth circle of hell. Dante believes that committing fraud and deception are the worst sin s and he illustrates that through Geryons physical traits, and where Geryon leads them, Malebolge. In Malebolge, the eighth circle of hell, Dante further illustrates the themes of lies and deception by the sinners he meets and the stories he is told. The themes of lies and deception are prevalent not only through the Infernobut, also through Boccaccio s, The Decameron. Throughout The Decameron, Boccaccio uses lies and deception to build his hero s throughout the stories. The first story takes the theme of lies and deception and shows them through the character, Ciappelletto. Ciappelletto lies his way to heaven and ends up being praised by a city upon death, although his whole life he has been a sinner. Boccaccio often uses lies and deception to lead the characters to heaven, compared to Dante who sees how lies and deception have led the characters to hell. Throughout both texts the theme of lies and deception are prevalent and play a significant role in both stories. In Dante s, The Inferno, lies and deception are represented strongly through the monster Geryon. Geryon has many deceiving characteristics that represent lying and fraud. Dante describes Geryon as, His face is appealing like that of an honest man, but his body end in a scorpion like stinger. (Dante 223) Geryon has the face of an innocent man, which represents your typical person committing fraud, like we see in big business today. His scorpion like tail represents the downside to these businessmen because even though they look good at first, they are going to come back and sting you, by committing fraud against you. Geryon takes Vigil and Dante from the seventh circle of hell into the final circle of hell, Malebolge. Little Miss Sunshine Stereotypes Little Miss Sunshine When we think about beauty pageants, we think about beautifully tanned girls with beautiful glittery makeup, a perfect physique and teeth to match, extravagant glitzy dresses, over the top hair, and not to add someone with an extraordinary talent. However, the iconic film Little Miss Sunshine completely shatters that stereotypical view that we have of the pageant as well as changes our view on how families function. Little Miss Sunshine is a film about an 8 year old girl named Olive Hoover, who is obsessed with being in pageants and is looking to become the next miss America, Olive gets the opportunity to participate in a national competition after the girl who was supposed to compete in her place has to drop out of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One moral is that you should never give up on yourself and never give up no matter how turbulent things may get. This moral was exercised in many scenes throughout the entire film such as in the beginning of the film we see Richard giving a motivational speech to a sparse group of people, the message being to never give up. When he comes home for dinner he gives everyone at family dinner a speech on how it is a dreadful thing to be a loser. Before they set off to Redondo Beach he also asks Olive if she thinks she will be able to win the competition because if she doesn t have any faith in herself they may as well not even waste time traveling to the pageant. The film conveys this message in a comical way (the breaks not working on the car, Frank running into his ex while buying porn, and the family bickering) as well as in an emotional way such as when Grandpa Edwin passes away and Dwayne finding out that he is color blind. The mixing of these two elements (comedy and evoking sadness) in my opinion make the genre of this film a dark comedy or it could just be classified as a comedy drama. Going off of that, the film shows that being a winner doesn t just mean being the best at something. Olive was poised to be the underdog for the entire film. We, the viewers as well as Olive s family knew that Olive wasn t comparable to her competition, however, Olive did not let that stop her and she continued her routine ... In this study, research was done to explain how the Buckthorn manipulates the soil in order to dominate the woodland ecosystems it is found in. The study was carried out in a 10 acre woodland area in the Skokie Preserve of Lake Forest, Illinois. Newly fallen leaves were collected from dominant trees in the area: Hill s Oak (Quercus ellipsoidalis), Wild Cherry (Prunus serotine), Cottonwood (Populus deltoids) and the Buckthorn. Three grams of air dried leaves of each species were placed into litterbags that allowed access to microarthropods. Another litterbag had a combination of all the leaves matching ... He was astounded by hearing the question. He was asked did you know about your mother and brother trying to escape. He was confused because he was the one who told the guard. Then he figured it out that the guard took all the credit. Shin was tortured by the guard to reveal that he knew about their escape. He was thrown in a cell after the tortue. Shin was only able to crawl to his food because of the torture from the guards. While shin was recovering from his injuire Kim jin myung held him recover. He is preferred to be called uncle. In meantime uncle became shin s nurse. He rubbed salty cabbage soup into his wounds as a disinfectant . He massaged shin s legs and arms. Shin thought without the help from Uncle he would not have been able to survive the torture. It was Shin s first exposure to sustained kindness, and he was grateful beyond words. But he also found it puzzling. He had not trusted his mother to keep him from starving (pg 63).And supports my claim by showing that without the kindness and care from uncle he would have not survive in that ...
