Colin Harris1 ABSTRACT: This paper uses the entangled political economy framework developed by
Wagner (2014) to analyze the effects that copyright legislation has on content producers and pirate
communities. I identify Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies as part of the superfluous
discovery process that results when politically enforced copyright legislation works to subsidize the
cost of creating property rights in creative goods. I also analyze the effects that criminal sanctions
against copyright infringement have on how pirate communities choose to self organize. I conclude
with the claim that the entangled framework provides for better analysis than the tradition additive
political economy framework because copyright does not work to control the outcome of the system
and correct for the market failure associated with creative goods, rather it influences specific nodes in

attract younger players to tennis is crucial in expanding participation. Broadening accessibility to
tennis, demonstrating its positive values, and targeting specific ethnic and social groups are worthy
solutions in reversing the negative trend. Inner city kids are some who have the most difficulty
becoming involved in tennis. A large majority of these kids don t come from an economic background
capable of providing expenses required for participation in the sport. Talented underprivileged kids
may never have the opportunity to go to a country club and take lessons. More often than not, urban

The Omnipotence and Omniscience of God
Does God exist in the universe, or does the universe exist in God? This is the question mankind must
answer when we discuss the attributes of God. Many times humanity attempts to place God in the
universe and placing universal laws and limitations on God, but God is not bound by the laws of the
universe, because the universe exists in God. If it true that God has created everything than how can
he be limited by anything? Only God could limit Himself, by His own choice to do so. Thomas V.
Morris in his article on the omnipotence of God asks; can God do everything that is logically possible?
Who s logic? Are we made in the Image and Likeness of God, or are we attempting to make Him in
ours? The difficulty is this: as humans, we are imperfect, with our viewpoints so limited is it God we
connect to, or merely our own impression of Him? As imperfect humans, we know only ourselves. We
connect to others, but we can never truly go into anybody s mind but our own. Every person exists in a
specific manner, completely immersed in his individual awareness, which is egocentric and exclusive.
As human beings, we look towards reason and logic to try to understand existence and our place in it.
However, there is no human being who is omniscient, so therefore our logic can be flawed, so what is

Part of that development was leaving the security and protective environment of my parents home to

Violation Of City Ordinance/Utility Water Requirements On 05 23 2017 at approximately 1625 hours,
I was contacted by public works supervisor Jeremy Bustos (TX DL # 06660917) in reference to a
utility water meter violation at 404 W. 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, I made contact with Bustos, who
visually showed me a water hose buried under the ground running from the next trailer over that was
connected to city utilities. The trailer had a water hose fitting connected into the trailer that did not
have the utilities turned on, therefore bypassing the city s water utility requirements, a violation of the
city ordinance. I made contact with Crystal Salinas (TX DL # 17969549), Salinas was advised, she

Difference Between Renewable And Non Renewable Energy
Renewable vs non renewable energy
Energy comes in the form of renewable or non renewable energy. Renewable energy resources include
wind, solar, water, biomass and geothermal. These resources are some of which will not run out
because they are natural resources of the earth. Solar energy comes from the sun, wind energy from
the wind geothermal from deep within the earth and so on. Non renewable resources are fossil fuels
such as coal, oil and natural gases. These cannot be replaced so eventually we will run out and have to
rely on renewable energy. Non renewable energy makes up 86 percent of Australia s energy with the
other 14 percent being renewable energy. 73 percent of Australia s energy is using coal while, 13
percent is natural gases, 7 percent is hydropower, 4 percent is wind, 2 percent is rooftop solar and 1
percent is biomass.
There are a few major advantages with non renewable energy. There are plenty of fossil fuels, such as
coal, oil and gas in Australia so this means they are a relatively cheap fuel and readily available.
Australia has enough fossil fuel resources to last for years. Also very large amounts of electricity can
be generated from fossil fuels. Non renewable energy is cost effective and easier to product and use.

another through the authority of science and medicine was justified by theories and ideas created by

Based on a generalization on a race and the social outcome of such race one can determine stereotype
would form. This leads to people, educated people, to conduct research of their own and come up with
their own conclusion on racial difference. The Bell Curve, published in 1994 was written by Richard
J. Herrnstein and Charles Murray. This book s purpose was to highlight the statistical differences
between races in terms of intelligence quota. A bell curve is essentially a method of organizing data,
usually grades because of the numerical values, the actual curve is a visual representation of the data
shown on a graph. This curve shows the raised mass in the middle as an average and the lower amount
in ends as the extremes.
In the case of The Bell Curve, a study was conducted where IQ tests were administered to African
Americans and white Americans and the results were plotted on the same graph. The results yielded
that African Americans frequently score one full standard deviation below those of white Americans.
Following the release of The Bell Curve several people around the world gave their public response,
many were simply stunned by these results as it was the first type of research to be conducted in a
racially specific way. This sparked an uproar in the scientific community which led black scientists to
administer the test that were race sensitive and still the same results

Simulation International Poverty Simulation
Poverty is defined as inferior in quantity or insufficient in amount; however, poverty strikes much
harder than simply lacking physical objects, it fosters a lifestyle tough to bear. After completing the
simulations and videos, it was evident that one cannot truly understand the magnitude of poverty
unless it is first hand.
To begin, the international poverty simulation presented a hypothetical situation; a housewife, an agri
labourer, who has two children and little financial support from her spouse was required to balance
money, time, and comfort. The major decisions consisted of what quality of water to obtain, deciding
which food items to purchase, and whether or not to prioritize work or family. Purchasing food was
the hardest task because the financial constraints were so tight. As long as the water doesn t create a
health altercation, the lower quality gets the job done; prioritizing work over family might also be
necessary in the instance. Therefore, purchasing food was difficult because there is no way to work
around it, once the money is gone, one goes hungry. The simulation came to a conclusion when it
notified me the day was over, even though all the tasks were not complete.
Conversely, in the domestic poverty simulation, it presented three job choices as an opportunity to
attempt to relieve the scenario. All of the jobs were minimum earning positions and were somewhat

Analysis Of Shooting An Elephant
Sometimes, the people around a man force him to give up his freedom by giving in to what the
audience expects. The person wants to make the audience pleased and wishes to keep his reputation
high. In the short story, Shooting an Elephant , George Orwell, who writes from his own experiences,
describes the life of the narrator, a policeman in a foreign country, Burma. The narrator feels forced to
shoot a wild elephant that has destroyed parts of a village. He does not want to shoot the elephant, but
because the Burmese around him seem determined and excited to see the elephant die, the narrator
feels compelled to do what the natives request to keep his high status and position of authority.

When the Burmese see the narrator with an elephant rifle, they feel excited. With the weapon in the
officer s hand, the villagers anticipated that Orwell plans to shoot the elephant. The Burmese feel as if
they should follow him to the elephant because they want to see if he will actually kill the elephant.
However, from the narrator s perspective, he states, I had no intention of shooting the elephant I had
merely sent for the rifle to defend myself if necessary . In his mind, he wishes that the elephant will
not be dangerous because he does not want to murder an animal. However, the narrator cannot turn
back. Behind him, there was an immense crowd, two thousand at the least and growing every minute.
It blocked the road for a long distance on either side . The villagers expect him to be brave enough to
shoot the elephant. If he gives up, then the villagers will laugh and mock him for being afraid to kill
the elephant. The narrator knows that every white man s life in the East, was one long struggle not to
be laughed at . If he turns back, he will indicate his weakness and lack of power over the Burmese.
Therefore, he has no choice.
Orwell uses irony to emphasize the impossible position of foreign leaders in a native country. The
narrator s decision to murder the elephant proves his weakness not his strength; instead, with all the
excited Burmese around him, he was only an absurd puppet
