Cause And Effect Of Tsunami
How is a tsunami caused?
There are different ways of how a tsunami is caused. A tsunami is a series of waves created by an
abrupt movement on the ocean floor that can result from an earthquake, meteorite or a volcanic
eruption. However, powerful undersea earthquakes are responsible for most tsunamis. For example, on
the 11th of March 2011 a devastating tsunami occurred on the east coast of Japan, which was caused
by an earthquake at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The magnitude of the earthquake which caused
the Japanese tsunami was recorded as 9.1 on the richer scale. This was very similar to the tsunami that
occurred on the 26th of December in the Indian Ocean, which had a huge impact on many countries
such as India, Thailand and Indonesia. The magnitude of the earthquake that occurred in the Indian
Ocean was also 9.1 on the richer scale.
Where the disasters most commonly occur
Tsunamis can occur anywhere in the world where land meets the ocean. Two of the most recent large
scale tsunamis in modern history was in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean which mainly
effected India and Japan respectively. Tsunamis potentially threaten every coastal area and river
system in the world. However, they are most likely to occur on shores directly facing a large body of
water where an undersea earthquake may occur. Scientists estimate that almost three quarters of the
worlds tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean as this is the largest ocean in the entire world.

Artificial Immune Syste for Intrusion Detection System
Artificial Immune System for Intrusion detection system
An artificial immune system is a system which incorporates many properties of vertebrate immune
system which includes diversity, distributed computation, error tolerance, dynamic learning and
adaptation and self monitoring. Artificial immune system is a general framework for a distributed
adaptive system and could. Detecting intrusions is one of many applications that can be inspired by
the natural immune system.
Introduction
The biological immune system is very complicated and appears to be precisely tuned to the problem
of detecting and eliminating infections. Immune system provides a compelling example of a parallel
adaptive information processing system, one which can be studied for the purpose of designing better
systems. Some of the properties that we are interested are : It is diverse, distributed, self monitoring,
error tolerant, dynamic, and adaptable. Lets consider some properties which give the immune system
certain key characteristics which we are most interesting.
Robustness: Despite the lack of a formal definition, robustness usually refers to the continuation of
function in the presence of perturbations. This is the consequence of the fact that the immune system
is dynamic, diverse, distributed and error tolerant.
It is dynamic, which means that individual components are continually created, destroyed, and
circulated the body. It is error tolerant because the effect of any single immune

Toys R Us Essay
1. Was Japan an attractive market for Toys R Us? Do you think there were any cultural obstacles to
product acceptance? Strong competitors? a. Japan was a very attractive market for Toys R Us. While
there are cultural differences between the United States and Japan, the United States and our products
are generally accepted by the Japanese. The use of McDonalds in the transition into Japan also helped
Toys R Us. Toys R Us faced a few competitors when they entered Japan, but there was no strong
competitor. In Japan at the time there was no such thing as a toy superstore so they quickly dominated
the market. Toys R Us only faced competition from other popular brands producing toys and selling
them in specialty shops. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a he turning point because a Japanese product known to the people was being sold through
this giant toy distributor. Soon other brands followed suit. They could have tried the alternative route
of connecting with the Japanese toy manufactures in a way that would not seem so industrialized. 4.
What were the problems in transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantages to a foreign market?
Why did Toys R Us internalize the firm specific advantages rather than license another retailer
abroad? a. Transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantage to a foreign market was a problem
because in the United States Toys R Us was the largest toy retail store, but in Japan they had their own
system for selling toys. They also faced the issue of how the Japanese value quality over value. The
low prices approach wasn t going to work because they were worried about the quality. Toys R Us had
to rethink their major competitive advantage that was such a success in the States. Toys R Us decided
to internalize rather then license another retailer because in the States Toys R Us was a huge success
and before open the Japanese location, Toys R Us was already operating in eight other countries. They
were not afraid to expand, not to mention they have their own system of success, licensing would
jeopardize that success plan. 5. Given Wal Mart s threat in the US market, what should Toys R Us
future strategy be? a. Toys

Summary Of Marriage By Gregory Corso Marriage
Marriage has been a heated controversy for the past few years because people often marry for the
wrong reasons. Anyone who thinks of an ideal marriage would think of two people loving each other
and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is regularly defined as the legally or formally
recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This definition remarks there is
an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually consider this when
committing to love and support their partners forever? As research and studies have shown, people
ultimately get married for many reasons, except love. This philosophy can be easily applied to the
short poem, Marriage by Gregory Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more
effectively understood or known for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract
considerations of love. Here, we can identify people generally decide to marry for the incorrect
reasons, for instance the story of the author himself. Corso finds himself confused multiple times,
wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and for his physical and mental health. He
disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future wife. General ways of convenience like
loneliness, health and economic status between cultural stereotypes and religion are usually the true
reasons of why people chose to have the commitment of marriage with another person.

The Green Creature Dialectical Journal
At sunrise, the two sisters walked out of Fairy Field s gates, towards The Lost City.
Their only goal was to rescue their parents from Professor Cain and the mug monsters.
The journey wasn t an easy one. Without parental guidance, they had to learn to find food for
themselves and take care of themselves.
Along the way, they encountered a three headed dragon that wanted what little food they had!
Food, I want food! the dragon bellowed, spitting fire, smoke and ice at them.
The girls ran without stopping until they crossed the gates of a city.
They thought they would be safe inside, but as they walked to the nearest train station, still following
the Lost City map, they were stopped by a lanky greenish creature that got in their way.

That is how, on the third day of their journey, they arrived at the crumbling, yet imposing gates of The

They high fived, hugged and with heads up high and shoulders back, walked towards the gates.
Soon it dawned on them, they had to blend in if they wanted to cross and find their parents.
They had to look like mug monsters!
Dashing to a nearby smelly swamp, they colored their skins with mug and mud, stuck twigs and

Once they looked like mug monsters, more or less, they made their way to the gates, acting like a pair

The rest of the children trickled in after them and the guards were none the wiser!
Once inside the city, they noticed how dark and gloomy everything was.
There were many humans walking by, but no one paid them any

Women In The Arabian Nights
The Arabian Nights allows the reader to view the world from an Islamic perspective. One can
understand the values that shape and mold their society, such as faith and wisdom. It would not be an
exaggeration to state that the Islamic society is based around these traits and are seen as crucial for
survival. These traits are a major factor on how males and females are portrayed in The Arabian
Nights. Women may either be portrayed as a possession of the male or the male under the influence of
the female or the male is portrayed as a gullible fool. Such varieties of portrayals depend on the
situation of the story. In the Arabian Nights one can see different aspects of faith in Islamic society.
This is due to the importance that faith has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Irwin States this in the novel called The Arabian Nights A Companion, Sometimes, however, one feels

the story The Porter and the Three Ladies . The Caliph Harun al Rashid is present at this story. During
his stay he witnesses what is occurring to these women, which shocks him Seeing the girl s

he burned with curiosity (Pg.79). This horror is not for the safety of these women s, but for his duty to
God. In order to understand why the Caliph would worry about his own safety one must understand
the word itself. The word Caliph itself means shadow of God, which places the responsibility on the

Mothers Work Case
1.What facts in this case appear to be the most important to you?
When I think about Mothers Work and the firing of one of their pregnant employees, Papageorge,
what I find most alarming is that some members of Mothers Work management felt that she could not
do her job efficiently because she was pregnant. I find this disheartening considering the founder of
the company started the company while she was pregnant and marketed the company to working
class, pregnant women. Another fact that I deem important would be that another member of the
management team, be it lower, refused to fire Papageorge stating that it was against the law to do so.
The same manager informed her that there were ways around the law and to fire her anyways. When

I believe the publicity from this case has damaged the reputation of Mothers Work because even the
suggestion of discrimination tarnishes the reputation of a company. Employees may not want to work
for a company that they feel will discriminate against them. Investors may not want to invest in
Mothers Work if they feel like they are a company that discriminates or has a bad public image.
Women may choose to shop elsewhere because of the how Mothers Work chooses to treats their
female employees.
3. What actions (if any) should Mothers Work, Inc. take? What message should the company send to
the public? Who is Mothers Work s target audience?
In my opinion Mothers Work needs to seriously and immediately address the issue. They needed to
send an immediate announcement to all management that there will be diversity training. They needed
to make public a flex schedule that is beneficial to pregnant employees and show that they support
their employees. While their target audience may be their customers I will always love a quote from
Richard Branson that I believes sums up who your audience should always be take care of you

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Black Scholes Model
Introduction.
The essay will examine the strengths and weaknesses of the Black Scholes model by first briefly
understanding its birth in an effort to look to the intention on which the model is created to fulfil. This
will then form the basis on which it will be assessed upon.
Then the essay will examine the model s growth of usage, describe how the model functions and what
it is used for, essentially outlining the model s strength. In so doing, the author will strive to highlight
the benefits and changes the model brought into the financial markets and the people who uses it.
When evaluating the model s sustainability, the essay outlines the model s limits and applications
under certain conditions. Here, the author highlights the weaknesses of the model, both, within the
model itself as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, outside these conditions, and as in the cases where the volatility estimation is imprecise, the
model would obtain a price that may differ from its observed value.
Hence, the model merely deals with the pricing of the option but it is the trader that then has to
determine its value.
Conclusion
The Black Scholes model can be used extremely well in the manner in which it was set out to do. It is
still used for many other variations. With newer and faster technologies, better algorithms and cheaper
transaction costs, the model may perform even better in its current deficiencies in high volume
calculations.
As with any mechanical tool, one has to remember that the model has no preferences and merely
calculates the data it is presented with. The user of the model would still have to evaluate that figure
alongside market conditions. The financial markets are made up of the human valuation of the assets
and humans deal with more than just numbers.
In the final analysis, the Black Scholes model is a tool that must be used to compliment the party

The Advertisements Made By Oral B, Colgate, And Crest Use...
Toothpaste advertisements made by Oral B, Colgate, and Crest use color, movement, and appeals in
various ways in order to have specific effects on their intended audience. These three ads, all in print
or video format, aim to garner positive reactions from their viewers and to have a memorable effect.
By formating their advertisements in differing styles, these agencies are attempting to ensure that their
product will be impactful and successful in the marketing industry.

Other evidently bright features of the advertisement include the scene in a restroom, which has a white
backdrop, and the scene in which she is walking down a hall as it includes camera flashes. The
incorporation of shininess into the background of the ad coincides with Laurie Hernandez s sparkling
teeth; her visibly white teeth speak to the capabilities of the brand. This brightly colored imagery
along with the previously mentioned aspects of the ad lead the viewer to equate Crest with brightness
and shininess, two common characteristics that consumers look for in a toothpaste.
Another area of comparison between the three ads are their varying movements. In the Oral B
advertisement, viewers are first drawn to the image of a woman who is presumably a dentist. The
image is most drawing because of its location in the optical center; moreover, it is the focal point of
the ad. Next, the motion of the advertisement guides the viewer to the largest text, located at the top.
The top text is larger in font size and easier to read, drawing the audience in more so than the small
text which is more difficult to see from a distance. This ad then directs the eye to the toothpaste box
that the woman is holding and finally to the bottom text. The area of the bottom text also encompasses

the theoretical yield of the experiment; it was calculated to be 65.99 % recover and 82% total yield.
The melting point (MP) of the product was taken in order to identify the product. 2 trials were
performed, and the results of both trials are the same, 102 105oC. The expected product of this
experiment was dibenzalacetone, which has 3 different isomers: cis cis, trans trans, and cis trans, with
different MPs and boiling point (BP). The true MP of Trans trans dibenzalacetone isomer is 110
110oC (ref. 3). The true MP of cis cis dibenzalacetone isomer is 60oC (ref. 3). Cis cis dibenzalacetone
doesn t have MP because its appearance is oil (ref.3). In, comparison to all the isomers, the product s
MP was closet to trans trans dibenzalacetone, although the product MP was lower than the true MP of
trans trans dibenzalacetone. There were some possible reasons why the MP of the product was lower.
The intermediate, benzalacetone with the MP of 42oC (Ref. 2), could be existed in the product
resulting in lower the MP of the product. Another reason could be that the cis trans isomer of
dibenzalacetone existed in the product. In order to confirm which reason is the case, infrared spectrum

Pros And Cons Of Ancient Empires
The economy has been essential for empires and kingdoms throughout the human history. It was the
main reason that caused the appearance of nobility and political organization after the specialization
occurred just in the beginning of the Neolithic revolution. Later on, during the mid bronze age,
Governments were mostly not able to sufficiently feed their needs as all the societies were used to
acquire some of their demands using trade. Even if they were able to, the greed to possess more
luxurious and exotic goods had always kept the path open for nations to trade. Late Bronze Age was a
period of mass trade between superpowers, as most of them were well fed and introduced to none

and wealth challenges they had. Although different cultures had various ... Show more content on

The body of our evidences and documentations is very small, but as the few we have can illustrate,
Ships were mainly the best option to choose and luxurious goods, were the most wanted type of
goods. These can be supported by reasonable proofs. For instance, ships were most likely to be used
as the top notch carriers. Most of the civilization centers and important cities were located whether on
the banks of the rivers or coastlines. As a result of the potential lack of quality or insufficient distance
of the roads, carriers but ships had problems delivering items safe and on time. Moreover, luxurious
goods seem to be the most demanded items during those days, as our evidences show that emperors
and kings, were well divided from the society and mostly had a divine role, thus, luxurious goods
were potentially of a symbol of prosperity and power, to persuade people to accept the superiority of
their king, encourage generals to fight harder and also sometimes to use them as a gift to buy other

Occlusal Caries Development
The epidemiological studies in caries do not show a consistent distribution for all tooth surfaces. The
occlusal surface caries still show high prevalence compared to interproximal caries. The incidence of
caries in the occlusal surfaces of the teeth constitutes more than two thirds of all caries types. The
propensity of occlusal caries to develop is closely related with the depth and morphology of the pits
and fissures. Caries development is caused by the fact that bacteria and food accumulate in the pit and
fissures and these areas cannot be cleaned properly due to the lack of both cleansing effect of saliva
and mechanical cleaning (3).
National data indicate that 80 percent of dental caries in the permanent teeth found in children is

In this case, the patient should be referred to the dentist for restorative treatment. Also, it is
contraindicated if the pits and fissures on the tooth surface are well coalesced and self cleansing;
sealants are contraindicated because such occlusal contour are at low risk of developing caries (5)
Dental sealants can be accomplished through the use of either glass ionomer sealant (GIS) or through
the use of resin based sealants (RBS) as currently recommended by the American Dental Association.
Resin based sealants form a micromechanical bonded resin layer that acts as a physical barrier
between enamel and surface and the oral environment and thus changes the occlusal morphology (3)
Resin based sealants can be either filled or unfilled. Filler particles improve the dental sealants wear
resistance. Unfilled sealants are beneficial when high spots in the occlusion cannot be adjusted with
dental hand pieces. These type of sealants are mostly used in school based settings. Most of the
clinical studies have demonstrated that glass ionomer has lower retention rates compared with Resin
based sealants

The Physics Of Fractions As A Child
Introduction:
Ever since I first learned about fractions as a child, I was always heavily agitated by the fact that every
time I would ask my teacher about dividing by zero, or have a calculator perform a equation where a
non zero number was divided by zero, I would just be told there was no solution. I wondered for years
about why there simply was no practical way to express a number divided by zero, until I learned
about something strangely similar to dividing a number by zero, being black holes, or a gravitational
singularity (a single point in space with a certain mass, equating to a density where the mass of the
object is divided by zero). Just like dividing by zero, black holes are usually represented as an
undefined point in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A counterargument could be immediately made that black holes do have a volume, but for
clarification, this is in terms of its singularity, not its event horizon (or the critical radius), which is the
black part of the hole that light does not escape from, as it is the point in which light can no longer
escape, as the escape velocity (the speed required to break free of an object s gravity, according to
physlink.com) is greater than the speed of light.
Now that this is established, representing the infinite density of a black hole is difficult to understand,
similarly in terms of the function 1/x, because like how the x value on the graph approaches the
asymptote of zero on the x axis from positive infinity, the y value gradually leaves the asymptote of
zero on the y axis to approach infinity, being not the largest possible number, but instead a filled space
that has no bounds, such as a star that is shining light into all directions in space forever, therefore
filing this ongoing void with light. That is infinity, so in terms of this essay, the light could be
represented as 1/∞. If the light were to be replaced with mass, the volume of said mass would
effectively be the opposite of a black hole, being an infinite number of some sort, with the density
being calculated by dividing it s mass by infinity of some sort, representing it s volume.
In simple fractions, they could likely be expressed as a circle or some other shape split into

The United States Aviation Security
More than a decade ago, a tragic and one of the saddest incidents in our history occurred on U.S soil.
On September 11, 2001 the United States were attacked by a group of terrorist who were able to
infiltrate our security system from all angles. It was a very tragic event for the U.S, when terrorist
attacked two landmarks in New York City, a densely populated area. Although this terrorist attack was
very unfortunate, it was also the largest infiltration of the United States Aviation system through

Ethical Issues In Animal Testing
The second factor to take into consideration consists on the ethical considerations of animal
experiments, as animals have the ability to suffer just like humans do. Under some circumstances, a
major key issue of testing animals implicates pain and suffering, which is not considered by
laboratories. Many researchers still frequently use live animals in their experiments and before they
research is done, the pain and distress potential which can be inflicted on the creatures needs to be
evaluated in order to minimize these living beings suffering (Carbone, 2011). The same author states
that it is crucial to find a way to treat human diseases and severe injuries without causing any pain to
these animals, and the best way to achieve this is by recognizing that animals suffer pain in the first
place. This has already been achieved in some places, such as in Britain, where the Committee on

ordinary hustler. One way Ty was inventive was he came up with a plan to get another hustler off of

shows Ty is inventive because he is making a plan to set up a rival drug dealer trying to take his turf.
Another way he is inventive is because he was walking out of the gym when he seen a car turn out of

The Birthmark Rhetorical Analysis
A mainstream and deeply American way of thinking about the nation s past, present, and future. this
was the definition and meaning of American jeremiad that was given by scholars. The American
jeremiad sustains a contradictory rhetorical of hope and fear where there is tension between ideal and
real. The jeremiad is a rhetorical tradition that appeared in most of America s history, and it began in
Puritan New England. Puritan New England was where jeremiad got its American stamp and where it
was most commonly used and developed into what it is now called American jeremiad. People think
of puritan New England as a society where religion such as Christian and civil government were
intertwined. Never has anyone imagine a society where religion ... Show more content on

His writing was describing human face human flaws that prevented them from seeing the beauty of

definition of American jeremiad. In Hawthorne The Birthmark has errand, anxiety and hope that the
brilliant scientist Aylmer have on how to get rid of his wife birthmark. His wife Georgiana have a
birthmark that has a shape of a tiny hand on her cheek which are like crimson hand. Aylmer and
Georgiana, both in love with each other, started to have problems based on something Georgiana was
unable to prevent from happening. Georgiana s birthmark disgusted Aylmer in way where he begins to
reject her in every way. Thought their life could have been a sweet and romantic life, turns into a
nightmare when Aylmer becomes obsessed with removing a small birthmark on Georgiana s cheek.
Aylmer doesn t just love science but he is obsessed with it. His hope is very high when it comes to
using science to remove her birthmark, which to her the birthmark are like her charm. There are many
kind of symbol that symbolize a person of who they are and it might have a connection to their life,
but for Aylmer, that mark on his wife cheek is awful and he shudders at the sight of it. He hates the

As a child I remember being read and told a hundreds of stories. There is this one story that stands out
to me the most. It is a story that my nana and papa would always tell me to try and get me to learn
about patience. Although, as a kid I did not think of it as a learning opportunity, but more as story time
at nana s and papa s house. Now I look back at all of the stories that they told me I really appreciate
the story of the Jack and the Bean Stalk.
In the story Jack is just a young boy who is staying with his mother, who is a widow, together with
their milk cow who happens to be their only source of livelihood. A time comes when the milk cow no
longer gives milk and thus Jack s mother instructs him to take their milk cow to traders ... Show more

However Jack almost gets caught with the harp and the giant quickly and menacingly follows him
down the gigantic beanstalk. The giant finally catches up with Jack. Jack realizing that he has done
wrong against the giant seeks to make things right with him. He comes up with a deal and presents it
to the giant whereby he has rights for visitation with the harp. In return, the giant gives Jack gold coins
so as to assist him and his mother survive. This marks the end of the tale and Jack together with his
mother live happily ever after. The moral of this story is that when as a child your parent sends you
somewhere, like the market, do exactly what you are asked. Jack had a very simple task to
accomplish, sell the cow and bring back the money home to buy food for the family. However, Jack
gets convinced by a swift talking salesman selling beans. Moral of this story, children should listen to
their parent when s/he instructs them to execute a task. The other lesson is that never let your eyes
become larger than your wallet.
Inspite of the kindness shown by the wife of the giant, Jack desires the possessions of the giant; the
gold coins, the hen laying the golden eggs together with the harp. This simple action leads Jack
towards the wrong path and this is where our next lesson comes in. What is yours is simply yours, and
what is theirs is

Differences Between Different Organisational Structures...
Introduction
It is needless to say that the ultimate success of an organisation is heavily dependent on the
performance of the people in the organisations. However, it is seen that different organisations share
different cultures and behavioral pattern among the people in the organisation. In that case, the
organisations behavior and culture can be differentiated from each others in terms of the behavior,
ethics and the organisational hierarchy etc (Robbins and Coulter, 2005). In this assignment, the
organisational structure, peoples behavior and other dimensions of the organisations in terms of the
behavioral pattern, values and the styles of the people and managers in the organisations have been
addressed choosing some organisations to show the scenario.

Causes of Inflation and Deflation

DEFLATION, AND BY COMPARING THEIR ECONOMIC EFFECTS CONSIDER HOW BOTH
CAN AFFECT THE CORPORATE SECTOR.
The essay will describe causes of inflation and deflation and explain how they can affect the corporate
sector.
1. INTRODUCTION DEFINITION OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION
Inflation is a process in which the price level is rising and money is losing value. (Parkin, Powell,
Matthews p654)
Inflation tends to rise when at the current price level, demand for goods and services in the economy
are greater than economy s ability to produce goods and services.
The graph below shows continuously growing inflation, occurred by a rising price level.

As a respond to that workers demand pay increase and with higher cost business need to increase its
prices again –that is called cost push inflation spiral.
Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through
into business investment decisions.
An increase in output prices, such as rise in wage rates or the cost of raw materials, increases firm s
costs. With higher costs, firms are less able to make profit. Some firms exit the market and, as a result,
aggregate supply is less and shifts to the left. The macroeconomic equilibrium changes, with input
prices push up inflation across the economy.
Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through
into business investment decisions.
THE ECONOMICS EFFECTS OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION
Inflation is costly when it is unanticipated because it redistributes income and wealth and creates
inefficiency in the economy.
(Parkin,Powell,Matthews p676)
There is widespread agreement that high and volatile inflation can be damaging both to individual
businesses and consumers and also to the economy as a whole.
However, economists disagree about the relative seriousness of inflation. The revision notes below
cover some of the main economic and social costs associated with persistent inflation in goods and
services.

The For A Family Child Care Center
Introduction
This is my Auntie Judelyn s house. It is located at 3113 El Paseo Alameda in Bay Farm. This is a big
house and it has a second floor. I mainly focus on the first floor to design an ECE environment. I
chose this house because it has an enormous space to transform into family child care center. This
house will be great where children can do various activities, feel comfortable and freely to explore in
certain learning centers.
Evaluation There are a lot of elements that would currently work for a family child care center. As you
walk into the house, there are three windows. There are two windows located at the living room and
these two windows are closeby to the yard, which is great. There is a natural light and it will make the
children be able to view the yard. The other window located at the cooking area, which is also good,
so that children can view the outside environment while they are cooking and eating. The floor is
made of tiles. Tile floors have the advantage of being very easy to appear clean and can be polished
well. There are three big carpets that are set up or lad in the floor, which are located in the living
room, cooking area and dining room. Carpet has the advantage where it make the floor a little softer to
sit on and for children to play or do activities. Carpet can be useful for seating areas like circle time,
blocks and many more.

The director of this part was the wife of Byron Delto, Clare Delto. They had also one Armenian
accompanist Leon Thomasian. If I am not mistaken he was alumni of Glendale Community College
and had a master degree in music. The first piece of this part was the old music composed by Henry
Macini and arranged by Jay Althouse called The Pink Panther . I like the mood that this music brings
with it. I use to play this song on the piano during my childhood. It was very interesting to hear this
music with the unique performance of this ensemble. They were imitating the music without a single

the gestures and mimics of their body they were bringing to me the feeling of something strange that

atonal harmony. Then a solo male artist probably a student started singing an acapella the famed song
Lately by Stevie Wonder. It was a very spectacular performance without any microphone or special

behavior. After 60 s Rewind arranged by Kirby Shaw came for me probably the most interesting part

2000 Election Process
In the United States presidential election of 2000, the presidential race came down to one state
Florida. The controversy surrounding the votes in Florida delayed the results of the election until
December 13th, 2000, 36 days from when the polling places opened. [1] The election s final results
are still hotly debated among the public. Ultimately, however, with the evidence present, Bush was the
rightful winner of the election. That is not to say, however, that Gore s team was incorrect in pursuing
the recount, and believing that they had a chance. Two incidents happened on voting day that triggered
an automatic machine recount in Florida: Gore was only behind by 1784 votes, which was less than a
.05 percent difference, and a voting machine malfunctioned. [2] This piqued the interest of the Gore
campaign team, and they had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the claims that the media threw the election, as they called Florida first for Gore, and later for
Bush, which may have influenced voters decisions, most of the states who still had their polling places
opened were clearly going to vote Democratic or Republican. Additionally, studies after the election
was over also concluded that Bush would have won Florida had the recount continued. A national
media consortium consisting of CNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Tribune
Company, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, The St. Petersburg Times, and The Palm
Beach Post paid the National Opinion Research Center, or NORC, to conduct a study of the one
hundred seventy five thousand disputed Florida ballots. [1] While the results of the study remain
somewhat inconclusive, after over 10 months, the media consortium concluded that if the recount had
proceeded as ordered by the Florida Supreme Court, then Bush would have won, albeit by an
incredibly slim margin, with estimates ranging from +430 to +490 votes.

Buddhist Meditation Paper
Rooted in the Buddhist religious practices, meditation is rapidly being implemented into the
mainstream system of health care. Numerous studies have indicated that extensive meditation training
may lead to functional and structural changes within the brain (e.g. Cahn Polich, 2006; Carter et al.,
2005; Slagter et al., 2007). Therefore, suggesting that the continuous practice of Buddhist meditation
is associated with cognitive, emotional, and neurophysiological changes (e.g. Davidson et al., 2003;

attention is concentrated on an individual s moment to moment experience; allowing oneself to be a

The Buddhist principles of mental training and well being assert that cognitive flexibility can be

in the participants, however, the data collected sufficiently corroborated the mental balance model as a
positive correlation was established between the practice of meditation, mindfulness, and cognitive
flexibility. The data collected within the reviewed article, concluded that the practice of meditation
improves mindfulness skills, having a positive effect on attention and cognition. The article supported
previous research by corroborating that, to foster mindfulness, attention needs to work collectively
with a non judgmental attitude towards individual experiences. This paper has outlined the elements

Taking a Look at Same-Sex Marriage
Same sex marriage is against the law and against the moral standards of the religious society. In this
paper I will sympathize with the homosexual community in order to improve their views on marriage.
First amendment of the Constitution protects and makes homosexuality legal. Marriage is also legal.
Marriage laws and the rights that fall under marriage are defined and upheld by the states. Should
same sex marriage remain illegal? Homosexuals believe rights guaranteed to married heterosexual
couples should not be denied to homosexual couples.
Marriage is a sacred bond protected by the Constitution of the United States. In the U.S. Supreme
Court case of 1974, Cleveland Board of Education v. LeFleur, the Court reaffirmed that freedom of
personal choice in matters of marriage and family life is one of the liberties protected by the Due
Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment (Robinson). Marriage is typically defined as one man
and one woman joining together in holy matrimony. Marriage is designed to be a contractual show of
one s love for another. Marriage is many things. For instance, marriage is a relationship full of
stressors, emotions, and passions. Marriage is also financial in that there are bills to pay, insurances to
maintain. Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend? Do you have a husband or wife? If the answer is yes,
then do you suppose a gay man has a boyfriend; or a lesbian has a girlfriend? The answer is obviously
yes. Same sex couples are quickly becoming

Examples Of Police Militarization
It has become more prevalent in recent times of discussion to look at the increase in militarization of
police forces. The term police militarization often brings with it a stigma on the social aspect which
revolves around brutality and a lack of rights. One must ask first what is defined as police
militarization. Police militarization or to militarize is defined as Give (something, especially an
organization) a military character or style. This means that police militarization in essence is the
conversion from the beat cop into a police force that is organized and managed under a military
model. A militaristic model is seen as being focused on solving problems through the use of force as
the best solution. With that in mind we are now able to identify police departments that are organized
under these beliefs. Through the observations of the culture, organization, and material aspects one

problem with this tactic is that it is hard for a lot of the departments to understand when the proper

impacts of this culture involving militarization state the possibility that it forces officers into believing
that they are to treat the people they serve as enemy combatants. Militarization of policing encourages
officers to adopt a warrior mentality and think of people the people they are supposed to serve as
enemies (ACLU 2). It is important to keep those ideals in check in order to prevent hostilities that

Whistleblowing And Its Effect On National Security
The concept of whistleblowing in modern days differs from citizens to public servants. From citizens
perspective, this action is perceived positively because it promotes the public good, and for most
public servants, this action is perceived negatively because it damages the reputation of the
organization and can ultimately jeopardize national security. The level of importance that is given to
whistleblowing depends on its nature, its political context, and how the media portrays it. In the Off

The motivation will determine how the public perceives the whistleblowing. The supervisor was
motivated by personal incentives. For example, his two children received trail bikes from American
Motorcycle Association (AMA) (O Leary, p.70). There could be more discussion about conflict of
interest on his part, and subsequently the reason of no reaching an outcome that goes according to the
regulations and the law. On the other hand, Ferguson was motivated to become a whistleblower when
he observed that Girton s personal interests collide with public interests. Not only the decision of
allowing ORV in protected lands in 1971, but the consequences it would bring for the National Forest
Service Agency, the organization that he belonged since 1940. He had stepped down from the position
of forest supervisor when he married another service employee. This shows he was concerned with
any ethical implication that emerged from this relationship in the workplace (O Leary, 69). Ferguson
proved to be a person of good character and integrity as well as a highly experienced professional in
the environmental field. With Girton s approval of ORV trails a policy that allowed limited use of the
vehicles in a small number of approved areas Ferguson felt that the organization was being
misrepresented and taking a path that did not serve its mission. Therefore, he arrived to the conclusion
of changing the path and setting up an example for the future;

Telecommunication Structure And Computer Networking...
As Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a small but growing firm, the organization is outgrowing the
current architectural centralized telecommunication structure along with the computer networks. The
task at hand is to protect the valuable information, but remain flexible enough for employees to
perform their daily duties. The enhancements need to address security aspects such as remote data
access, enterprise mobility, and internal communications such as email. When accommodating a
growing organization, a distributed architecture is more in line with the needs of the future. Sueur,

relationships he or she has with people in different circumstances (p. e32566). By analyzing the

which will be the best approach for the growing organization. To determine which may be the better
architectural fit, first, let s explain the differences between the two options that may support the goals

My Argumentative Essay On Lobbying
Every essay assignment changed my perspective on something or strengthened the knowledge I
already had but, with the Argumentative Essay I felt more engaged than ever with my assignment. The
ability to choose my topic already made me feel more in control, but i still had to critically
think. When I was determining what topic I felt more inclined to write about I was confused on which
to choose not because of lack of options but because my dilemma was that I had too much. In order to
truly pick I not only decided on what I was very passionate about, but also on a topic that I knew was
uncommon and could educate more than reiterate .I thought of Lobbying which I once wrote a speech
about and had a clear interest in. I had a lot of conversations with friends and family about lobbying
and came to the realization that it was not only important to me, but to everyone I knew whether they
knew about it or not it had a significant importance in their life. The process was interesting because I
didn t lack information, but I had a lot since it was something that I had read upon for a long time so
my struggle became the organization. I also had to make it clear and concise because I found it was
easy to become stray from your main thesis when you have a lot of information on the general topic.
My views didn t necessarily change yet the ideas and notions I had on Lobbying were strengthened by
the research I got and how I tried to deliver my argument. I felt that my essay did justice to the thesis
and my message was conveyed clearly. It was satisfying to have the counter arguments refuted because
I felt as though my message gained more value and credibility. The best way to explain the process is
by using a metaphor , I felt like a lawyer who was prepared to win for their client, except in my case
the client was my thesis and I was my own lawyer. My point was supported, but I also wanted those
which had counter ideas to feel that my argumentative essay did them justice by trying to analyze their
point of view thoroughly. When mentioning the counter argument on how lobbying should be
regulated I found validity in some of their arguments, seen by. There is no doubt that free speech

Somnambulism
Charles Brockeden Brown introduces a short thriller story that grasp the attention of the readers not
pursuing the idea of who the killer was but rather questioning the state of mentality of the protagonist.
Throughout the short story, Brown manages to invent a suspenseful tone that intrigues the reader
through the idea of psychoanalysis and the constant questioning of Althorpe character as a whole. In
the short story that explains itself, Somnambulism is described to correlate sleepwalking and the
constant psychological battle the protagonist is constantly facing throughout the story. Browns
intentions were made quite clear early in the short story, he wanted readers to know immediately what
to focus on and completely ignore. Completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Althorpe dreams he believes he is protecting Constnaie from an assassin set out to kill her and
defends her by killing it. The way he describes it would only lead the readers to the conclusion that he
actually commited the murder. I was summoned, methought, to defend this lady from the attacks of an
assassin. My ideas were full of confusion and inaccuracy. All that I can recollect is, that my efforts had
been unsuccessful to avert the stroke of the murderer. This, however, was not accomplished without
drawing on his head a bloody retribution. I imagined myself engaged, for a long time, in pursuit of the
guilty, and, at last, to have detected him in an artful disguise. I did not employ the usual preliminaries
which honour prescribes, but, stimulated by rage, attacked him with a pistol, and terminated his career
by a mortal wound. (Brown Pg 7) Viewing his dream from a psych analysis standpoint, you can
understand that Althorpe is trying to interpret him killing Constanie Davis in a more fictional event for
him to believe. However, when he wakes up he seems to deflect the dream and make it into just a
dream. This manipulation inside his head lets the reader assume the psychological reasoning to his
sleep walking throughout his

Until your child reach the age of 3, all toys sizes should be bigger than his or her mouth in order to
prevent choking. If you do not know if it s going to go down you baby s throat or not, grab a toilet
paper roll and try to fit the toy through it. If it fits, or in other words it can go in through the toilet
paper roll smoothly, be alarm that these toys can bring harm to your baby.
Don t pick heavy toys or toys that are too large compared to your baby s size. Before purchasing
anything, imagine if the toys fall on your baby, will it impose any threats? If yes, do not buy the goods
no matter how cute or reasonable it looks.
Do not hand balloons to your baby. Balloons are a must at parties, however, latex balloons are the
main reason causing toy related choking facilities on children. If your child accidentally swallow the
balloon, it can form a tight seal in one s airway that make it very difficult for him or her to breath.
Do not purchase toys with a string or cord that is longer than 12 inches. A child can be strangled if the
cord or string is too long. It will wrap around the neck or any area in the body of the child body.
Do not give your child guns or anything that can shoot. Even the simplest model of the game can
cause eyes injuries and present choking hazards.

Disney s Mulan
Disney s Mulan is a tale of a young Chinese girl who dresses up as a man to go to war in order to
prevent her dad from having to go at such old age. Mulan is considered to be one of the first feminist
films Disney created, aiming to give a female protagonist power. However, although the
representation of female power seems promising, as aHDJSFA argues Mulan s story distorts the values
of feminism and ultimately reinforces antifeminist ideas. it is interesting to see that although Mulan
has attributes such as bravery, determination and is ultimately extremely competent as a fighter for her
country, the film struggles to act as a powerful representation of breaking the stereotypical gender
tropes so present in Disney princesses. The values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She feels unworthy with her female status, so eloquently emphasized in the song, Reflection that she
instead adopts masculine characteristics and defies the expectations of her sex . However, this feminist
ideal is quickly forgotten as we realise she is not searching for her own accomplishment but instead
looking for something that she could do right , so that when [she] looked in the mirror [sheʼd] see
someone worthwhile (Coats Bancroft, 1998). The various songs in Mulan represent the anti feminist
nature of the film, with I ll Make a Man Out of You , in which Shang the captain, sings, did they bring
me daughters, when I asked for sons? (Coats Bancroft, 1998) Here Shang connects the soldiers
inability to perform and clumsiness with femininity. Similarly, the song A Girl Worth Fighting For, the
soldiers sing of girls that are paler than the moon, that marvel at [their] strength, and are good cooks.
When Mulan responds with, How about a girl who s got a brain, who always speaks her mind...? they
respond with nah! (Coats Bancroft,

A tsunami is a series of waves created by an abrupt movement on the ocean floor that can result from an earthquake, meteorite or a volcanic eruption. However, powerful undersea earthquakes are responsible for most tsunamis. For example, on the 11th of March 2011 a devastating tsunami occurred on the east coast of Japan, which was caused by an earthquake at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The magnitude of the earthquake which caused the Japanese tsunami was recorded as 9.1 on the richer scale. This was very similar to the tsunami that occurred on the 26th of December in the Indian Ocean, which had a huge impact on many countries such as India, Thailand and Indonesia. The magnitude of the earthquake that occurred in the Indian Ocean was also 9.1 on the richer scale. Where the disasters most commonly occur Tsunamis can occur anywhere in the world where land meets the ocean. Two of the most recent large scale tsunamis in modern history was in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean which mainly effected India and Japan respectively. Tsunamis potentially threaten every coastal area and river system in the world. However, they are most likely to occur on shores directly facing a large body of water where an undersea earthquake may occur. Scientists estimate that almost three quarters of the worlds tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean as this is the largest ocean in the entire world. Japanese and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Immune system provides a compelling example of a parallel adaptive information processing system, one which can be studied for the purpose of designing better systems. Some of the properties that we are interested are : It is diverse, distributed, self monitoring, error tolerant, dynamic, and adaptable. Lets consider some properties which give the immune system certain key characteristics which we are most interesting. Robustness: Despite the lack of a formal definition, robustness usually refers to the continuation of function in the presence of perturbations. This is the consequence of the fact that the immune system is dynamic, diverse, distributed and error tolerant. It is dynamic, which means that individual components are continually created, destroyed, and circulated the body. It is error tolerant because the effect of any single immune ... Japan was a very attractive market for Toys R Us. While there are cultural differences between the United States and Japan, the United States and our products are generally accepted by the Japanese. The use of McDonalds in the transition into Japan also helped Toys R Us. Toys R Us faced a few competitors when they entered Japan, but there was no strong competitor. What were the problems in transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantages to a foreign market? Why did Toys R Us internalize the firm specific advantages rather than license another retailer abroad? a. Transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantage to a foreign market was a problem because in the United States Toys R Us was the largest toy retail store, but in Japan they had their own system for selling toys. They also faced the issue of how the Japanese value quality over value. The low prices approach wasn t going to work because they were worried about the quality. Toys R Us had to rethink their major competitive advantage that was such a success in the States. Toys R Us decided to internalize rather then license another retailer because in the States Toys R Us was a huge success and before open the Japanese location, Toys R Us was already operating in eight other countries. • 5. Summary Of Marriage By Gregory Corso Marriage Marriage has been a heated controversy for the past few years because people often marry for the wrong reasons. Anyone who thinks of an ideal marriage would think of two people loving each other and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is regularly defined as the legally or formally recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This definition remarks there is an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually consider this when committing to love and support their partners forever? As research and studies have shown, people ultimately get married for many reasons, except love. This philosophy can be easily applied to the short poem, Marriage by Gregory Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more effectively understood or known for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract considerations of love. Here, we can identify people generally decide to marry for the incorrect reasons, for instance the story of the author himself. Corso finds himself confused multiple times, wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and for his physical and mental health. He disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future wife. General ways of convenience like loneliness, health and economic status between cultural stereotypes and religion are usually the true reasons of why people chose to have the commitment of marriage with another person. I wondered for years about why there simply was no practical way to express a number divided by zero, until I learned about something strangely similar to dividing a number by zero, being black holes, or a gravitational singularity (a single point in space with a certain mass, equating to a density where the mass of the object is divided by zero). A counterargument could be immediately made that black holes do have a volume, but for clarification, this is in terms of its singularity, not its event horizon (or the critical radius), which is the black part of the hole that light does not escape from, as it is the point in which light can no longer escape, as the escape velocity (the speed required to break free of an object s gravity, according to physlink.com) is greater than the speed of light. Now that this is established, representing the infinite density of a black hole is difficult to understand, similarly in terms of the function 1/x, because like how the x value on the graph approaches the asymptote of zero on the x axis from positive infinity, the y value gradually leaves the asymptote of zero on the y axis to approach infinity, being not the largest possible number, but instead a filled space that has no bounds, such as a star that is shining light into all directions in space forever, therefore filing this ongoing void with light. That is infinity, so in terms of this essay, the light could be represented as 1/∞. If the light were to be replaced with mass, the volume of said mass would effectively be the opposite of a black hole, being an infinite number of some sort, with the density being calculated by dividing it s mass by infinity of some sort, representing it s volume. There are many kind of symbol that symbolize a person of who they are and it might have a connection to their life, but for Aylmer, that mark on his wife cheek is awful and he shudders at the sight of it. It is a story that my nana and papa would always tell me to try and get me to learn about patience. Although, as a kid I did not think of it as a learning opportunity, but more as story time at nana s and papa s house. Now I look back at all of the stories that they told me I really appreciate the story of the Jack and the Bean Stalk. In the story Jack is just a young boy who is staying with his mother, who is a widow, together with their milk cow who happens to be their only source of livelihood. A time comes when the milk cow no longer gives milk and thus Jack s mother instructs him to take their milk cow to traders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However Jack almost gets caught with the harp and the giant quickly and menacingly follows him down the gigantic beanstalk. The giant finally catches up with Jack. Jack realizing that he has done wrong against the giant seeks to make things right with him. He comes up with a deal and presents it to the giant whereby he has rights for visitation with the harp. In return, the giant gives Jack gold coins so as to assist him and his mother survive. This marks the end of the tale and Jack together with his mother live happily ever after. The moral of this story is that when as a child your parent sends you somewhere, like the market, do exactly what you are asked. Jack had a very simple task to accomplish, sell the cow and bring back the money home to buy food for the family. However, Jack gets convinced by a swift talking salesman selling beans. Moral of this story, children should listen to their parent when s/he instructs them to execute a task. The other lesson is that never let your eyes become larger than your wallet. Inspite of the kindness shown by the wife of the giant, Jack desires the possessions of the giant; the gold coins, the hen laying the golden eggs together with the harp. This simple action leads Jack towards the wrong path and this is where our next lesson comes in. What is yours is simply yours, and what is theirs is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The essay will describe causes of inflation and deflation and explain how they can affect the corporate sector. 1. INTRODUCTION DEFINITION OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION Inflation is a process in which the price level is rising and money is losing value. (Parkin, Powell, Matthews p654) Inflation tends to rise when at the current price level, demand for goods and services in the economy are greater than economy s ability to produce goods and services. As a respond to that workers demand pay increase and with higher cost business need to increase its prices again –that is called cost push inflation spiral. Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through into business investment decisions. An increase in output prices, such as rise in wage rates or the cost of raw materials, increases firm s costs. With higher costs, firms are less able to make profit. Some firms exit the market and, as a result, aggregate supply is less and shifts to the left. The macroeconomic equilibrium changes, with input prices push up inflation across the economy. Cost push inflation usually leads to a slower growth of company profits which can then feed through into business investment decisions. THE ECONOMICS EFFECTS OF INFLATION AND DEFLATION Inflation is costly when it is unanticipated because it redistributes income and wealth and creates inefficiency in the economy. (Parkin,Powell,Matthews p676) There is widespread agreement that high and volatile inflation can be damaging both to individual businesses and consumers and also to the economy as a whole. However, economists disagree about the relative seriousness of inflation. The revision notes below cover some of the main economic and social costs associated with persistent inflation in goods and

I mainly focus on the first floor to design an ECE environment. I chose this house because it has an enormous space to transform into family child care center. This house will be great where children can do various activities, feel comfortable and freely to explore in certain learning centers. Evaluation There are a lot of elements that would currently work for a family child care center. As you walk into the house, there are three windows. There are two windows located at the living room and these two windows are closeby to the yard, which is great. There is a natural light and it will make the children be able to view the yard. The other window located at the cooking area, which is also good, so that children can view the outside environment while they are cooking and eating. The floor is made of tiles. Tile floors have the advantage of being very easy to appear clean and can be polished well. There are three big carpets that are set up or lad in the floor, which are located in the living room, cooking area and dining room. The controversy surrounding the votes in Florida delayed the results of the election until December 13th, 2000, 36 days from when the polling places opened. Two incidents happened on voting day that triggered an automatic machine recount in Florida: Gore was only behind by 1784 votes, which was less than a .05 percent difference, and a voting machine malfunctioned.
