Reseach Proposal-Consumer Behaviour to Change in Packaging...
CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR TO CHANGE IN PACKAGING DESIGN OF FMCG PRODUCTS.
Introduction
Design is increasingly used by firms as a strategy to create a substantial competitive advantage.
Good design uniquely differentiates a product. Companies mastering the art of design have
emerged as leaders in their respective markets. In this proposal, i examine how consumers respond
to the visual aspects of packaging design and benefits of studying consumer behavior.
The importance of packaging design as a vehicle for communication and branding is growing in
competitive markets for packaged FMCG products. This research utilized a focus group
methodology to understand consumer behavior toward such products. The challenge for
researchers is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In time, packaging weight has decreased as compared to the packed product. Nevertheless,
consumption patterns have generated a higher packaging volume because of the constant changes
in demography and life styles. It is the volume of packaging and not so much its weight that
attracts critical eyes (Calver, 2004). In addition, the predilection for pre packed food has increased
the amount of plastic waste within the general waste flow.
ConsumerPsychologist.com, part of the University of Southern California, define consumer
behaviour as the study of individuals, groups or organizations and the processes they use to select,
secure, use and dispose of products, services, experiences or ideas to satisfy needs. Essentially,
consumer behavior deals with how frequently a person or organization may purchase an item from
a company. It closely relates to elements of customer service such as problem resolution and overall
satisfaction and to marketing strategies such as pricing, promotion and product placement.
Why Study Consumer Behaviour?
Understanding consumer behaviour may lead to changes in the design of a pilot product, a product
s packaging or its position within the store. Understanding why customers buy what they do also
helps a company create campaigns to encourage repeat purchase and referrals.
Consumers make decisions for different

A Muscle Relaxant
Introduction: A muscle relaxant is a pharmacologic aid use to alleviate tense muscles. It can be
obtained as an over the counter drug or medication that requires a doctor s prescription. I will be
presenting the value of muscle relaxant to overstimulated muscles with a neurologic involvement
such as spasticity, and how it can help mitigate and revive the person ability to recapitulate his
capability to perform his/her activities of daily living. Spasticity is described as an abnormal muscle
tone that is velocity dependent, and it is usually correlated with an upper motor neuron lesion with
an association of hyperactive deep tendon reflexes (Nair Marsden, 2014, p. 1). There are numerous
neurologic diseases that exhibit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An interesting study of Orsnes, Sorensen, Larsen, Ravnborg, (2000, p. 247) stated that baclofen
has minimal effect on gait improvements compared to placebo; these patients only received an
adequate dose of the drug that will yield no side effects. The component of the gait that
demonstrated a minimal change is a vertical unsteadiness. The researchers have attributed this
change to the influence of baclofen on the knee extensors and ankle dorsiflexion at the final part
of swing phase. Since this study has a small sample size, and patients did not receive the maximum
dose to achieve a good result, further study in a larger group sample with different variations of
dosage may have made this study demonstrate effectiveness in MS gait

Caffeine the Most Popular Drug in The World
Coffee and tea have been around for many centuries. Coffee was discovered in the land of
Abyssinia or also known as Ethiopia (Pendergrast, 2001). It became one of the many sources to
create ideas, a common drink for work or school, and created problems. It is common to buy coffee
now from Starbucks, Philz Coffee, or brewing it ourselves. Coffee is use to start out our day and
keep us awake. Since discovering coffee, Americans consume it everyday. On the other hand, not
only is coffee very popular drink but so is drinking Tea. The discovery of tea is very diverse, it goes
through many histories and cultural stories. The history of it started out when the British made tea

Decade Of Horror Essay
A Decade of Horror The 1940s was a horrible way to end the 1930s. World War II started and that
was an awful thing to open the new decade with, but unfortunately, that was what happened. All
homes in the United Kingdom had to paint the windows black and drape dark sheets over the
windows. They were only allowed small amounts of light at certain times. My great grandma
was just a young girl when World War II was taking place. At just the age of 6, she and her
family were being taken to air raid shelters. There was one shelter just a few miles away from the
one my great grandma was taking shelter in that was blown up. The people were killed instantly
from the shock and heat. The German Nazi s didn t surrender until 1944, and the war ended a year

I would tread the waters of global expansion and would first expand with our neighbors to the
south, Mexico. Some of the economic issues that I would run into would be the low income
revenue that families in Mexico face. The infrastructure in Mexico is well developed in major cities
but that is about it. Other cities have poor to non existent infrastructure. The way I would mitigate
these issues would be place my businesses in tourist cities (I.E. Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Quintana
Roo, Monterrey, and Etc.) and international airports.
The social culture difference that I would have to take into consideration are that many Mexicans
only speak English. I would have to get bilingual workers that spoke both Spanish and English. I
would also take into consideration the narco culture that they are currently living in. Many drug
gangs are running the country and I would have to mitigate that so my workers would be safe.
Technological issues would be minimal. Mexico is well off when it comes to internet technology.
Almost every home in major cities now have Wi Fi connection. My business would also be able to
provide this service. They also have cell phone service readily available in these major cities. I
would have minimal political legal issues. That is because of the North

A Study On The And Properties Of Aluminium Alloys
CHAPTER 3 LITERATURE REVIEW
3.1 Introduction
The Al Zn Mg series aluminium alloys (7xxx) are the heat treatable alloys and widely applied as
large structural components in navigation and transportation facilities, due to good combination of
hardness, high strength and fracture toughness [1 6]. The use of Sc (scandium) to achieve grain
refinement has recently received great attention. The microstructures and properties of aluminium
alloys are strongly affected by adding small quantities of scandium. Scandium additions in excess of
0.55wt.% (i.e., hypereutectic) are very effective in grain refinement, suggesting that the primary
ScAl3 phase serves as an effective grain nucleant [7 9].
The effect of a Sc addition will of course depend on the composition of the alloy. The additions of
Sc in aluminium alloy appear to reduce hot tearing and shrinkage porosity. Hot shortness increase
with increase in Zn but decrease with increase in Mg content [10, 11]. The process of precipitation
in the Al Zn Mg alloy system is quite complex. The aged structure and the kinetics of ageing depend
on both the Zn and Mg concentration and the temperatures of solution and ageing treatments. As
the Sc contents increases within the specified solubility in the solid solution, the grains virtually do
not disintegrate. The maximum solubility of scandium increases from 0.35 to 0.6 wt.% [12, 13].
When the amount of scandium exceeds the eutectic content and, consequently, there appear primary
particles of

Capitalism Is A Social System Essay
For several centuries, capitalism, or more precisely free market capitalism has dominated the
economies of several developing countries around the world. Capitalism, according to the Merriam
Webster dictionary, is defined as an economic system characterized by private or corporate
ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices,
production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free
market ( Capitalism, n.d.). Capitalism is a social system which is based on individual rights in the
free market and is run based on the idea of a laissez faire economy, an economy that is free of
government control and intervention. A capitalist system is operated by private corporations in
business sectors with the main incentive of gaining profits from the free market through the
exchange of consumer goods and services. Therefore, capitalism is generally perceived to allow
for more economic freedom and competition in the market to produce quality consumer goods and
services in exchange of commodities, including wage labour. Generally, as private corporations in
various business sectors gain profits in the market, they can then use a portion of their profits to
contribute towards further building their commodities. This means that the value of labour
increases as workers are provided with higher wages for their labour work.
Thus, overall, free market capitalism supposedly allows for all members of

At the end of my observation, I noted that he was on on task 35% of the time. I also wrote down
a summary of my observations of the antecedent, behaviors and consequences that could be
contributing to the problem. The teacher was teaching a spelling lesson. The teacher was orally
giving the students a vocabulary word, which they had to write in a sentence. The classroom
was noisy during this activity and John completed the first two sentences but then began
doodling on his paper, rocking on his chair and talking to the person next to him. When the
teacher warned him to stop talking, he complied but was still lost on what word they were
doing. In the follow up Child Success Team meeting, I explain to John s parents and teacher, that
John is in the developmental phase of Industry vs Inferiority. In order for John to succeed at this
phase, it is important for the parents and teachers to set him up for success and then praise him.
If the yelling continues, John can feel inferior, incapable of succeeding at school and his self
esteem will be affected. I also explain that John may or may not qualify for an IEP. The parents

Symbolism In Frankenstein
The lessons the monster learns from the De Lacey family play an important role in the monsters
coming of age in Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein. The De Lacey family is a poor family that
the creature has been watching from the outside for some time now. Eventually, he wants to make
an appearance to the family and show himself to get help. The perfect time is to knock at the door
when nobody is home, except for the old man. All the monster wants is somebody who will accept
him and care for him. As shown in Frankenstein, there is a strong symbolism in which the old man
is blind and can t see the monster. Yet, he accepts him for who he is, while the rest of the De
Lacey family harm him and beat him. Symbolism is also shown with the De Lacey family and their
cottage. It has a strong representation with the Garden of Edenas the cottage acts as the garden. The
novel Frankenstein has many different symbolic elements to it while being connected to the De
Lacey s, including the symbolism of the blindman, the way the monster reacts as the humans react
to his looks, and the comparison to the Garden of Eden. As shown throughout several chapters of
Frankenstein, the old man gives the monster affection and shows that he ll care for him. He was
never able to judge the monster by the way he looked, but only on the way he acted. As the old
man said, I am blind and cannot judge of your countenance, but there is something in your words
which persuades me that you are sincere. I am poor

Counseling Family Confidentiality
Chapter 10: Counseling Families and Groups Counseling families can be difficult to enforce
confidentiality that can be difficult t o make obligatory in group settings. Therefore, counselors
should make extra efforts to ensure that group members understand the concept on how important
confidentiality is (Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.271). Chapter 10 provides information on developing
diversity and values in family and group counseling.
How is confidentiality different when counseling couples, families, or groups, as opposed to
counseling an individual client? According to the text book, confidentiality is different with
couples and families due to privileged communication. When dealing with married couples, there
are situations where stressful topics are discussed between the husband and the wife and later on a
divorce may occur. One of the spouses may want a counselor to repeat confidential information in a
legal court about the other spouse during their counseling sessions, whereas, the other spouse wants
to keep her information enclosed ( Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.256).When counseling an individual
client, the client is the only person that the counselor have to obligate to when ensuring
confidentiality. ACA Codes of Ethics states that in a couples and family counseling, counselors
clearly defines who is considered the client and discusses expectation and limitation of
confidentiality, ( 2014, Standard b.4.b.). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Marquis De Lafayette Dbq
Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette, or better known as Marquis de
Lafayette, was born in Chavaniac France on 6 September 1757. He comes from a famous, well off
landowning family in the southern part of France. From him being orphaned at a young age to
Lafayette helping the American Revolution and vice versa the French revolution, Lafayette became
one of the most important people in Western Europe in the 18th 19th century. Why was he more
successful with the American Revolution than with helping out the French after he helped America
become independent? Well, for starters his ideas were more accepted in America than they were in

It is mostly due to what he did during both of these periods, and the people he hanged around
while these were happening. In the American Revolution, he was doing the best for the colonists
that he could accomplish, and he was one of the bravest generals that the revolutionaries had,
while during the French revolution, he was more of stuck in a sinking ship where no matter what
he did to help fix it, he would go down with it. As for the people he hanged out with during the
American Revolution, he hanged out with the best that would not betray him such as George
Washington or Benjamin Franklin, while in the French revolution, he was more or less on his
own trying to protect himself from more dangers while things he could not control were
happening all around him. Also in the American revolution, there was only one threat to Lafayette
and that was the British while in the French revolution there were so many that Lafayette had to
watch what he was doing at the time or he could be the next person being sentenced and being put
on the next chopping block to be executed during the revolution. He was also loved more in
America than he was in France, because as I mentioned before, he really did not do much for the
Americans to hate him akin to what he did in France during their revolution akin to firing upon
crowds or making them believe that he was helping their

Taking a Look at Zombie Ants
The stereotypical Zombie Ant , most typically found in a rain forest and or farm climate, are not
the flesh tearing type of zombie you most likely had in mind, instead, fungal spreading mind
controlled ants, taken over by a fungal parasite. And these ants, are far from usual. There is a
cycling, almost endless process, repeated in three stages. The process and fungusis called
Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis. During the first faze, the fungal parasite picked up by the target ant,
enters the ant s brain, by latching on to the skin, literally tearing its way through its cuticle, and
separating all inside muscle tissue. The fungus is picked up from the forest floor, in particles
dropped by another infected ant. This powerful overtaking fungus is known as. After the fungus has
entered the body, it starts to travel up into the head of the infected ant.
After the parasite has entered the brain, the zombification stage of the fungus inside the ant causes
the fungus to grow in the head and take over the mind, where the ant now goes through an
uncontrollable, helpless faze, where the fungus is present in the head, and now in charge of the
ant s mind. In full control of the ant s body, the fungus can now direct the ant away from it s
natural daily routine, and cause it to roam around the forest hoplessly. The reason being for the
fungus to target and take over these ants in the first place is to create a sort of mass production of
the fungul parasitic ants, taking over the forest,

recognition as a writer and led him to win the Literature Prize for Novelists, but it also meant his

In Mandala, Kim presents the story of a young itinerant Buddhist called Bobun who in his journey
arrives in the Byongsa temple and meets an older monk by the name Yisan. At first, Bobun is
outraged by Yisan s constant drinking and disrespectful words as well as actions, but he is forced

Kim makes a series of accusations and declarations regarding the unpleasant and wicked side of the
religious system through Yisan s anecdotes and the description of the obstacles both characters
confront in the face of a closed ecclesiastical structure that cares more for money and earthly
possessions than the religion it represents. Considering the strong allegations the author displays, it
comes to no surprise that after the release of this novel Kim Seongdong was expelled from the
religious order he was part of.
Finally, the author exhibits the crisis of the clash between the old and the new. From beginning to
end, the story shows diverse situations in which the traditional values and way of living encounter
a barrier in the form of a transitioning Korean society that become more and more Occidentalized.
In a way, the assimilation of western values and morals presents itself as a factor in the perversion
of the religious structure and the decay of the society, but Kim never seems to blame the

Treatment Of Pituitary Gigantism Is A Rare Endocrine Disorder
Treatment of pituitary gigantism Nolan Coburn BIOL 2458, Mustafi Raisi, October 12, 2016
Introduction Pituitary gigantism is a rare endocrine disorder in which the anterior pituitary
releases an excess of growth hormone (GH) during childhood before the epiphyseal plates close,
causing abnormal increased somatic growth in the patient, occurring usually because of a pituitary
tumor, also called an adenoma (Goldenberg et al. 2009). There are several treatments that can
usually prevent pituitary gigantism or halt the rapid growth if caught early enough. These
treatments include drug therapy, surgical removal of the adenoma, and radiation therapy (Flitsch
et al. 2000). It is crucial that pituitary gigantism is detected and treated before excessive growth
occurs, as it can cause uneven and abnormal growth in the extremities, facial deformities, severe
headaches, blindness, and a shortened life expectancy (de Herder 2008). However, if treated soon
enough, patients can live a long, healthy and happy life. Below, I will detail the different methods
of treatment and how they work. Body Detecting GH secreting pituitary adenomas in young
children before pituitary gigantism occurs is of utmost importance, as gigantism is irreversible
once the extreme growth occurs. Besides just accelerated growth, there are several signs of
gigantism. These include excess perspiration, extreme body odor, coarse facial features, and
thickened skin, just to name a few. Pituitary gigantism is

Child Neglect Within The United States
Child neglect refers to the continued failure to offer a child with the necessary protection, and
care. Such protection and attention involve the necessities such as food, medical care, clothing, as
well as shelter (Conte 7). In addition, lack of proper supervision for the young children for an
extended duration of time is also child neglect. There are various signs of possible neglect. These
include; inconsistent school attendance, evidence that health care is not being provided for in a
child, or lack of proper hygiene (Conte 9). The child may also appear to be lacking clothes or
poorly nourished.
The issue of child neglect is one of the most current forms of child maltreatment especially in the
United States. According to the National Child Abuseand Neglect Data System, child neglect is
referred to as a kind of maltreatment which relates to the failure of a caregiver to offer the
needed, age appropriate care, despite the fact that the parent may be financially stable to do so
(Conte 13). Neglect in many instances is described by an ongoing pattern that relates to lack of
care and is observed by individuals in close contact with a child. Child neglect can occur in cases
such as a parent or a caregiver emotionally or physically neglecting a child (Conte 17). This issue
has a lengthy history. Many children have been subjected to neglect by their parents or other
adults, for a considerable long period. Children who were under the English common law were

different forms of hitting, kicking, and beatings; emotional abuse, threats, financial abuse,
psychological abuse such as belittling, intimidation, and humiliation.

Negative And Negative Impacts Of Bullying Essay
Prevalence The nature of bullying presents some challenges to accurately determining either its
prevalence or severity. Both the positive and negative social interactions of school aged children
may be misinterpreted by peers or by education professionals. Additionally, victims and perpetrators
of bullyingmay be less likely to provide truthful responses to research inquiries out of fear of
retaliation from peers or school personnel. In spite of these challenges, numerous recent studies on
bullying have produced fairly consistent results that may point to an accurate baseline of bullying
activity. Several studies demonstrate that bullying continues to be a significant issue for both
primary and secondary schools (Casebeer, 2012; Low et al., 2014; and Veenstra, Lindenberg,
Huitsing, Sainio, Salmivalli, 2014). Current literature suggests that around 30 % of students in the
United States will experience bullying (Casebeer, 2012; Cornell, Gregory, Huang, Fan, 2013; and O
Brennan, Waasdorp, Bradshaw, 2014). With studies consistently reporting bullying rates of close to
one third of U.S. students, it is vital to understand what bullying looks like in the present culture.
Current major types of bullying include verbal, physical, relational, and cyber based bullying
(Casebeer, 2012; Chisholm, 2014). Physical and verbal aggression, such as fighting or teasing, is
typically easier to recognize than relational and cyber based bullying tactics. Even in the case of
overt bullying

Born Free Themes
In the movie Born Free, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers play conservationists Joy and George
Adamson, who become the surrogate parents of three lion cubs, later giving two to a zoo and
keeping Elsa, the smallest of the bunch. As their time with the lioness continues, they are given
orders to return her to the wild, where they realize they must return her to her roots among the
African Savannah, touching on the theme of natureand the true meaning of freedom. Elsa s legacy
within this film is her role as an ambassador like role in being a bridge between mankind and nature
in helping understand the limit in humanity s ability to survive alongside the wild.
Like humans, animals are capable of emotion. Many people fear creatures like Elsa because they
are mainly known for their instinctual and predatorial nature. In the film, John Kendall, George s
boss and presumably experienced in wildlife like lions, is fearful of Elsa despite her easygoing
and merry attitude with the Adamsons. His position somewhat makes this ironic, as one would not
normally fear what they are trying to protect and take care of. Elsa portrays a wide range of
emotions that people would usually think she would be unable to comprehend. Elsa expresses
sorrow when Joy leaves for town and as she waits for her to come back home, and then elation in
Joy s return. Lions and most animals have different ways of communicating their needs and
emotions. Humans tend to attribute human interactions to animals actions,

The Creature Monologue Frankenstein
I sit on my log, lurking in the leaves. I m starving, but I must be patient. I will never get food
unless I lie perfectly still in the jungle undergrowth. All I hear are the endless drones of the
insects and the loud chirps and squawks of the jungle birds. All are simply local pests, not large
enough to satisfy my hunger. From afar I hear a strange, new noise, similar to the incessant
ruckus of the birds, but lower. I concentrate on the noise. Could this be my lunch? The sound
comes closer and closer. I hear the leaves and branches rustle. A flock of strange creatures
emerge from the brush. If I could laugh I would have! These hideous creatures look like enormous

We are prospering in this new land. Suddenly, while enjoying an evening meal of birds with my
lovely queen, one of those hideous creatures crashes through the roof of my new home! My
queen charges at the creature, defending herself, but the creature puts up a mean fight. The two
battle for what seems like an eternity. I do not interfere. My queen is the most powerful queen
of the world. There is no being more powerful than my queen, my babies, or myself. Suddenly,
the creature makes its move and catches my queen off guard. I watch in horror as my queen is
flung screaming through the air. She smashes into the wall and bursts into flame. No! My
beautiful queen, the love of my life, has been bested by this frail creature, King of nothing. I
charge at him, determined to avenge my queen. There are flames all around, the same flames
that squelched my queen s flame of life. I assume that the creature will be afraid of the flame, as
most animals are, but alas, the creature appears to have power over the flame, much to my
dismay. The creature envelops me in flames. I scream in pain, but do not let the flames deter me
from my cause. I am the king. I must survive and defeat this creature, for the sake of my poor
queen, for the sake of my children, for the sake of my kind. I launch myself at the creature, but
before I can land on it and finally be victorious, the creature shoots a sharp talon at me and impales
me. The force of the impact sends me hurtling through the air. I notice with horror that I am flying
towards my nest, which is full of my children. I collide with the nest, which bursts into flames.

The company s creams inventory remains constant because it does not follow a trend in
innovation and changes so often as the other products. The surplus in inventory is a big
disadvantage since; last year s products may not be in style this year in addition to the cost of
storage. For all these reasons their cash flow is less in comparison with previous years causing
that Luxor Cosmetics keeps increasing their bank loans, creating more debt, making it harder to
pay out as 2011. In this particular situation the company could have either decrease its budgeted
sales (productions) or increase its actual sales by improving more effective marketing strategy and
research and development of its products in the markets. This way their inventory would decrease
and their cash flow would increase. (Hopkins, 2009)
Further, through effective marketing strategy Luxor

Alan Chalmers s Theory Of Scientific Knowledge
Falsification in Science the Hypothetico deductive method
Scientific knowledge is proven knowledge. Scientific theories are derived in some rigorous way
from the facts of experience acquired by observation and experiment. Science is based on what
we can see and hear and touch, etc. Personal opinion or preferences and speculative imaginings
have no place in science. Science is objective. Scientific knowledge is reliable knowledge because
it is objectively proven knowledge.
Alan Chalmers, What Is This Thing Called Science?, 1982, p.1.
Chalmers represents the traditional inductivist view with his statement on science. An inductivist
makes observations, then creates a general statement that aims to explain the encountered
phenomenon. However, Karl Popper, another scientific philosopher, has completely rejected this
scientific method and has argued against the sole use of induction when conducting scientific
research. Unsatisfied with Chalmers method, and the traditional inductive method in general, he
instead made his own version of the scientific method, dubbed the hypothetico deductive method .
These two scientific methods contrast each other, and to demonstrate their difference Chalmers
statement will be evaluated using the typical view of one who subscribes to Popper s hypothetico
deductive method of falsification. I will then evaluate the two methods, commenting on their
individual limitations and merits.
To contrast the two methods, Popper s

Hypoglycemia Case Studies
Discussion
This audit provides an insight into the prevalence of hypoglycemia in subacute setting with the aim
of identifying precipitant factors and implementing prevention strategies. From this audit we found
that there were 10% of patient with type 2 diabetes has moderate hypoglycemia episode whilst in
the subacute hospital. This number is smaller than expected from previous audit done in Kingston

hypoglycemia was defined as blood glucose level of less than 4.0mmol/l, we will have recorded a

Nissan UK is able to use inflation in the prices of their goods, this is because they are then able to
make sure that they are taking advantage of this type of opportunity their organisation, this is going
to allow their company to make a profit at the time of a recession.
From the economic review for January 2012 has a graph that shows the output of the three major
economic sectors: manufacturing, construction and services. The graph shows the recession in
2008 to 2011 and how it recovers.
The graph shows that the manufacturing was a lot higher more higher in Q1 in 2008 compared
to the start of 2009. This shows that businesses were not manufacturing a lot of products and the
way in which the manufacturing decreased within a year. This also reflects the manufacturing
that Nissan UK did from 2008 to 2009 by making it go low because there wasn t a huge demand
for products. This also shows that the recession had just begun and was getting a lot worse in
2009. This must have had an impact on Nissan by making their employees lose their jobs
because there was less labour activity. In Q3 of 2009, the graph shows that there was progress
being made in the economy by showing recovery. The graph shows this in the way there is a
progress and this would have also impacted on Nissan

Argumentative Essay On Kim Kardashian
We re halfway through our list of top ten reasons to hate everyone s favorite celebrity.
Thankfully, Kim Kardashian has no shortage of material to write about. 6. KIM KARDASHIAN

list were just something to roll your eyes at. However now, things are getting a bit more serious.
In 2013, Kim set out to start a charity. In this charity, she sold off some of her most prized
possessions to help the Phillipino victims of a hurricane. Sounds good so far, but looking at the
records, only 10% of the proceeds actually made their way to the victims. Furthermore, she even

same can be said for Kim. Would she be where she is without that infamous tape with rapper Ray
J? It s doubtful. 9. KIM KARDASHIAN IS MARRIED TO CELEBRITY KANYE WEST Is
there a more narcissistic man on the planet than Kanye West? Probably not. Hence, Kim and
Kanye are perfect for each other. However, that doesn t mean we have to like it. Kanye never
ceases to amaze us with his ludicrous acts and insane perception of reality. He s like that popular

KIM KARDASHIAN HAS NO TALENT This is the biggest source of confusion regarding Kim.
What exactly can she do? She doesn t sing, dance and we all know how horrible of an actor she

Harold And Maude Film Techniques
According to the film of Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby, there is a scene where both
Harold (a kid who thinks suicidal), along with his mother by the name Vivian are sitting down,
not even facing the same direction of each other. Vivian begins to ask back to back questions to
Harold based on the national computer dating services. During the scene, Harold looks straight
ahead while his mother is looking down at the form of questions she is constantly asking him.
The whole time, Harold does not say a word and his mother answers each question herself, as she
would know her son s answers. Harold slowly pulls out a handgun out of a case located on his lap.
He then aims the gun towards his mother and then aims the gun pointing his direction. Shortly after,

In the scene, they are wearing luxurious attire inside of an elegant setting. Harold was wearing a
dapper suit and tie, while the mother was wearing a nice dress with an appealing necklace and
purse. This would be the assumption they live a high class (ruling) lifestyle. Secondly, this
scene shows the ideology how negative Harold thinks of Vivian. Once he aimed the gun her way
and kept it steady with confidence, a viewer could easily tell Harold was fed up by his own
mom. As most kids with their parents, this shows an exaggeration of how they could feel when
parents are annoying them when they do not want to be bothered or dislike them as a whole.
Lastly, an ideology that both works and can be made out of the following scene is the dominant
belief of Harold s attitude and emotions. Things may not seem to be bad for a person if he or she
lives at an upper level than majority of the population. However, that does not mean being at a
high peak of life defines a person s

Comparison of Two Films About King Arthur Essay
Few works of literature or legend are as varied as that of King Arthur and his round table, forever
retold by each generation. Without question, the defining work of Arthurian Literature is Sir
Thomas Malory s Le Morte d Arthur. Morte d Arthur is a compilation of all the King Arthur
legends that existed before Malory. Malory tried to bring all the stories together into one cohesive
whole. Morte d Arthur is a trove of stories about magical encounters and various quests that is
loosely centered on the rise and fall of King Arthur.

Whoever wields the sword, wields England. It is a symbol of the King s union with the land, the
main point of the film. L etat c est moi, Arthur and the land are one.
In the film, the sword is first given to Uther, who then becomes King. Besides for this, the story
of Uther and Igraine is straight out of Malory. Uther starts a war with the Duke of Cornwall
because Uther so openly desires Cornwall s wife, Igraine. Merlin agrees to give Uther the
semblance of Cornwall so Uther can sleep with Igraine. In exchange for this service, the baby
that will come from the adulterous union will be given to Merlin. An addition of the film is that
before Uther walks into the castle as Cornwall, little Morganna has a vision that her father has
died. When Uther comes into the room where Morganna and Igraine are, Morganna knows who he
really is. Later on in the story, little Morganna watches as Merlin takes baby Arthur away. These
scenes work to develop the character of Morganna and explain why she becomes such a hateful
creature
When Uther dies, he thrusts the sword into a stone to prevent his enemies from obtaining it and
using it to claim the throne of England. Whoever pulls the sword from the stone will be king. The
land is then plunged into chaos as various kings and knights fight for the throne of England. The
scene where Arthur pulls the sword from the stone is almost exactly as it is in Malory. When Kay

Philosophical Themes In Vertigo
Vertigo is an intriguing film throwing several philosophical themes at the viewer, including the
ideas of love, appearance/reality, and subjective/objective personality. By the use of camera shots,
editing, colour, and more, Vertigo provides viewers to immerse themselves into these themes and
ponder over what these messages mean and apply to their individual ways of thinking. An
interesting concept from the filmthat I want to dwell on more is the theme of appearance vs.
reality. The film creates a conflict between these two opposites, mainly by the physical form of
Gavin Elster s wife Madeleine (also known as accessory to murder Judy ) to the protagonist of the
film, John Scottie Ferguson as he tries to unravel the mystery of who she really is.
Following the philosophical theme, Madeleine is both a literal image and a real person. As a real
person, Madeleine is of course Judy, a woman with a similar face that Gavin Elster exploited to
use in his plan to murder his wife for riches. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One profile subsists of several combining factors, which create a distinct image that the viewer
and Scottie attain of Madeleine until the end of the film. In this profile, Madeleine wears a grey

image is important, as it appears again through a sequence later in the film, where Scottie forces
Judy through a rigorous process of shopping and stylizing to obtain the identical image of
Madeleine . The film emphasizes the finish of the transformation with the completed Judy,
walking towards the screen with a smile as an identical image of Madeleine. The scene even

slippery conditions and allow extra following space behind the vehicle in front.
Give your driving extra focus because your ability to swerve and brake is severely limited on

Realism In The Alchemist
The Alchemist is one of Ben Jonson s four extraordinary comedies. The most earliest recorded
execution of the play happened in Oxford in 1610 by the King s Men. In The Alchemist, Jonson
unashamedly ridicules the imprudences, vanities and indecencies of humanity, most quite
eagerness prompted credulity. Individuals of every single social class are liable to Jonson s
heartless, sarcastic wit.
In The Alchemist the master of the house, Lovewit goes to countryside to avoid th palgue. With his
lord Lovewit gone, the sharp butler named Face builds up a plan to profit and interest himself. He
puts the plan vigorously with the assistance of a conman, Subtle, and Dol Common, a prostitute.

Ben Johnson plays with the idea of meta fiction in the whole play. Alchemyin The Alchemist is
shorthand for the figment of the theatre.
All things considered, what s a greater amount of a catalytic procedure than transforming average
citizens into sovereigns, witches, dukes, and divine beings? Or, on the other hand beet juice into
blood? Or, then again cardboard into swords and mythical serpents? Or, on the other hand modest
thwart into inestimable gems?
Since that is precisely what happens in front of an audience. We pay great cash to go see a show
knowing very well indeed that what we re going to see isn t genuine. We suspend our incredulity
and get tied up with the display that strangers are falling in love, passing on, and deceiving each
other right in front of us. We pay for a lie... and we cherish each moment of it.
How about we look again at Surly s quote about alchemy:
Alchemy is a pretty kind of game, / Somewhat like tricks o the cards, to cheat a man / With

Imagine a peaceful paradise, where the heavenly ocean breeze and the glorious blue waves set the
mood for delighted sensations. This beautiful fantasy of a beach will perish, if humans continue to

including, garbage, toxic waste, oil, sewage spills, and plastic waste. Every hour, 1.5 million
pounds of garbage are dumped into the ocean, killing 100,000 marine creatures due to plastic

Why Gm Crop Should Be Grown Essay
Biology 3.2 Why GM crop should be grown in New Zealand
Introduction
A Genetically modified organism (GMO) is the product of artificially changing the genome of
an organism, resulting in a change in phenotype. This process is commonly found used on crops
and foods that we all eat. The reason that GM is used is that it causes the organism to express a
phenotype that has some sort of benefit towards the organism. This practice is widely used in
Agriculture as causes the crops to develop certain traits to adapt to the environment and survive;
the crops are also modified to fit human preference. For example some crops are genetically
modified so the fruit they bear grow larger. From these benefits, you may think that everyone
would support GM crops, but there is a large amount of people that are against it especially in
New Zealand as you cannot plant GM crops. The cause of this controversy is that GM crops could
be dangerous for human consumption, due many claims that people have attained diseases and
sicknesses from toxins within the crops.
Biological Concepts and Implications
The basis of Genetic engineering is the removal of one or more genes in an organism and then it is
inserted in the DNA of another organism. By doing this, we can express certain traits due to the
newly inserted gene which us as consumers find favourable. An example is the imported GM corn
in New Zealand. A common type of GM corn is MON863 corn (1), which is developed by
Monsanto, is genetically modified

US Prison System Essay
US Prison System There are many people who are critical of the US s prison sysetm; the idea of
locking up those who commit crimes against a society simply to keep them from doing harm.
Many say that more rehabilatation is necessary to improve these individuals and, therefore, society

the prison systemcurrently in place the best optionfor society? 2 pages, double spaced, 12pt. font.

People often say about celebrities or political figures, They are not above the law. This is true, no
one is above the law, but the law was made by other humans just like you and me and humans make
mistakes...a lot.
The prison system is something that you would have had to experienced to know enough about
to judge whether it is the best option for society. My outsider and nieve view is that there is no
perfect way to deal with people that hurt other people. God says to forgive thy enemy and love
him as your brother. That is practically unrealistic in our world for anyone. Hanging outlaws is no
longer an easy solution to crime.
No one should be caged like an animal, animals shouldn t either for that matter, but when someone
violates/abuses another person s rights; they deserve to have their rights taken away. To have your
freedom taken away may be worse than death. At least in death you are free. If there were a better
option, someone would have thought of it by now.
An idea that was followed through was the electric ankle brace, in which people who commit
misdometers(eg. cable theft), or are on parole are on house arrest. They cannot leave at certain
times and if they do, the ankle brace sends an alerts the police.
This option is all anyone could come up with? People have been murdered due to the fact some
felons were let out on the ankle brace when they should have been locked up where they couldn t
do any harm to anyone but

Eisenhower Intro Paragraph
Intro Paragraph Dwight David Eisenhower had an interesting early life. He was born on October
14, 1890. Dwight was born in Denison, Texas, however, he never considered Denison his
hometown (Mara 7). Eisenhower was the third child of seven children of Ida Elizabeth Stover
Eisenhower and David Jacob Eisenhower ( Dwight D. Eisenhower). One of Dwight s younger
brothers, Paul, was born in 1894, but died in 1896 due to scarlet fever. In the early 1890s the
Eisenhower family moved to Abilene, Kansas. His father was a mechanical engineer that repaired
equipment in a creamery (Brown 13, 15). Dwight s father was also strict. Dwight was always a
hard worker who had a positive attitude and a responsible person who never quit. He was also

generals and political leaders. Introduction Sentence Eisenhower had six brothers while Truman
had one brother and one sister. Eisenhower s family was on the poorer side, but the Trumans did
not have to worry about money as much. Eisenhower grew up in a non fighting home.
Eisenhower was fully involved in sports, but Truman was restricted because of his glasses.
Eisenhower was not sure of his religion, but Truman was a definite Baptist. Introduction
Sentence (Eisenhower s Military Career) Dwight Eisenhower started his military career by
applying to West Point, New York or Annapolis, Maryland. Annapolis worked with navy training
and West Point was for the army. Eisenhower wanted to go there because the tuition was free. He
ended up going to West Point. He traveled to there in June of 1911. His parents, mostly his
mother, disapproved of going to an army school, but they allowed him to go. The newcomers to
the school were called plebes and for the first few weeks they were ridiculed by the older students.
Eisenhower was tough and went through this with no problem. Eisenhower gained a reputation as
a troublemaker, but nothing big. Ike tried to play sports but he did not make the baseball team,
which was his favorite sport, but he made the football team. A football injury ruined a future in
athletics. Dwight Eisenhower graduated from West point in 1915 with a ranking of 61 out of 164

Feminization Of Poverty In America
Introduction
The term feminization of poverty was first created in 1978 in an article that analyzed the
economic statuses of women. In 1976, nearly two out of three of poor persons over 16 years of
age were women (Pearce; 1976). The feminization of poverty describes a phenomenon in which
women represent a disproportionate percentage of the United States poor. This trend is not only a
result of lack of income, but also a lack of opportunities due to gender biases and fixed gender roles
in some societies (DeNavas Walt; 2012). Gender biases often deprive women of opportunities to
independently pursue education or careers and are often linked to the expectation that women are
responsible for childbearing and caring for them as well. To better ... Show more content on

some cases, by divorce), for many the price of that independence has been their pauperization
and dependence on welfare, in 1976, nearly two out of three of the 15 million poor persons over

Implementing Universal Healthcare Coverage For All Citizens
The United States is in a period of transition in regards to healthcare. After the passing of the
Affordable Care Act (ACA), more widely known as ObamaCare , in 2010, many dissenting
politicians looked towards Europe to find critiques of the universal systems already in place. The
Scandinavian countries and the United Kingdom were the main targets of allegations that the
United Stateswas attempting to become socialist. However, there is an alternative path to universal
healthcare that may provide a better option for the United States during this time of policy reform. I
argue that the United States should seek to emulate the Netherlands in implementing universal
healthcare coverage for all citizens. Although the United States has attempted to enact healthcare
reforms similar to that of the Netherlands, the current trials in the Supreme Court threaten to
undermine these reforms. By comparing the health statistics of the United States and the
Netherlands, I hope to provide a convincing argument that the reforms enacted by the ACA, which
emulate the Dutch reforms, should improve the healthcare system and overall health of the county.
Background
There are two models of healthcare that fall into the realm of universal healthcare, the Beveridge
Model and the Bismarck Model. In the Beveridge model the government, which is the sole payer of
the system, owns most of the hospitals and clinics (PNHP, 2010). I maintain that the United States
is very unlikely to adopt this model, and

Count Of Monte Cristo Betrayal
Many people betray DantГЁs, the protagonist in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre
Dumas. Those who betray Edmond are motivated by jealousy and hatred. It is ironic how many
characters in the book do not like him because he is well liked by many people. Throughout the
novel the people DantГЁs thinks are his friends betray him and send him to prison but, he
manages to escape and take on a new look and personality with a newly acquired fortune, but the
betrayal does not stop there. His friends continue to betray him all the while not knowing who The
Count really is. In The novel The Count of Monte Cristoby Alexandre Dumas, Danglars is the
ultimate betrayer towards his friend Edmond DantГЁsbecause he writes a letter that puts DantГЁs

Edmond has the job, the girl of his dreams, and he is very happy. Danglars hates that he has
everything he wants. He was as much disliked by the crew as Edmond DantГЁs was liked by
him (Dumas 2). This quote shows that Danglars is not liked at all compared to the wonderful
DantГЁs whom only jealous men disliked. Danglars knows he is not liked as Edmond is and
this drives his jealousy which causes him to betray DantГЁs. Yes , said Danglars, casting
DantГЁs a glance full of hatred, he s young and he has no doubts about anything (Dumas 3). This
quote bluntly displays how Danglars dislikes DantГЁs through the look of hatred and negative
comments about DantГЁs. Danglars dislikes Edmond because he is successful and he is jealous of
that and he will do anything to get rid of DantГЁs even send him to prison for the rest of his life.
All these things contribute to the motivation Danglars has to betray DantГЁs and ruin his

Principles And Practices Of Incident Management And...
CHAPTER TWO
PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF INCIDENT MANAGEMENT AND INCIDENT RESPONSE
STRENGTHS
The information security incident management policy of Blyth s Books was created in 2010 and
has been reviewed four times in five years. Those covered by its scope are clearly stated. It stresses
the importance of incident management to the organisation and has the support of upper level
management.
This policy complies with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) which was an act made to secure
computer systems and networks from unapproved access. By complying with legal obligation,
Blyth s Books can pursue legal or disciplinary action against anyone (employee or otherwise) guilty
of breaching their systems.
WEAKNESSES
The Data Protection Act (1998) provides the principles which must be adhered to in order to ensure
the total protection of data while the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035
presents organisations with guidance in the management of information security incidents. This
standard stipulates that an organisation should have a clear and concise information security
incident management policy. The security incident management policy of Blyth s Books while
compliant with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) does not show that it is compliant with the Data
Protection Act (DPA) (1998) and the DPA (1998) being a legal aspect of the International
Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035, which must be adhered to, this policy is also not
compliant with the standard.

How Does Stephen Albert Create A Labyrinth
Simultaneous Futures: The Role of Time in The Garden of the Forking Paths In The Garden of the
Forking Paths by Jorge Luis Borges, Stephen Albert is studying the work of TsК№ui PГЄn. His
work is not only a book, but also a labyrinth. Many people think that the book and the labyrinth are
two different things, but Stephen Albert has a different theory; it is the theory of a never ending
book. It is never ending because TsК№ui PГЄn has chosen all possible futures simultaneously.
TsК№ui PГЄn has written a book and a labyrinth, which is a never ending story of endless possible
futures that demonstrates the possibility for many different futures in real life. TsК№ui PГЄn has
written a never ending book that he also classifies as a labyrinth. Albert has just met Dr. Yu Tsun
and is discussing with him the works of his ancestor, TsК№ui PГЄn. Albert, while showing Dr. Yu
Tsun the labyrinth, says, К»TsК№ui PГЄn must have said once: I am withdrawing to write a book.

How Is Heathcliff Presented In Wuthering Heights
In Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte s sister, Charlotte Bronte described Heathcliff as a man s
shape animated by demon life a ghoul . Bronte is at her best when she is describing him, and his
looks garner a lot of attention from her and other characters. In Heathcliff s life, his youthful love
for Catherine Earnshawis better than his final years of vengeance. Heathcliff, who is one of the
main characters, is presented in many forms in the novel. He is portrayed as a man who loves
Catherine, homeless, and vengeful. He is also described as evil because he was treated badly in his
youth and Catherine didn t choose him as her husband, she chose Edgar Linton.

Catherine would not choose to marry him. When he returned, he is a different man, not the
Heathcliff of the past. On the night that Catherine shared her story with Mrs. Dean, Heathcliff
felt so bad about what she said. Catherine and Nelly Dean thought that Heathcliff was in the
stable, but he was not. You love Edgar because he is handsome, and young, and cheerful, and
rich, and love you (Bronte, 57). Catherine loves Edgar because of many things he was, but if he
wasn t that, Catherine might not love him. In Catherine heart, Heathcliff, there is almost only
Heathcliff. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I m well
aware, as winter changes the tree. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath a
source of little visible delight, but necessary (Bronte, 60). Catherine s love for Edgar can be
changed any time, so she loves him because he has much money. Or maybe, she loves him and
uses his money to help Heathcliff. But her love for Heathcliff will not be changed. This is a
passionate love, a real love and unrequited love. Unrequited love is the love that no one wants. It
makes people so miserable. When loving someone and that person loves too, but they can t come

  • 2. Reseach Proposal-Consumer Behaviour to Change in Packaging... CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR TO CHANGE IN PACKAGING DESIGN OF FMCG PRODUCTS. Introduction Design is increasingly used by firms as a strategy to create a substantial competitive advantage. Good design uniquely differentiates a product. Companies mastering the art of design have emerged as leaders in their respective markets. In this proposal, i examine how consumers respond to the visual aspects of packaging design and benefits of studying consumer behavior. The importance of packaging design as a vehicle for communication and branding is growing in competitive markets for packaged FMCG products. This research utilized a focus group methodology to understand consumer behavior toward such products. The challenge for researchers is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In time, packaging weight has decreased as compared to the packed product. Nevertheless, consumption patterns have generated a higher packaging volume because of the constant changes in demography and life styles. It is the volume of packaging and not so much its weight that attracts critical eyes (Calver, 2004). In addition, the predilection for pre packed food has increased the amount of plastic waste within the general waste flow. ConsumerPsychologist.com, part of the University of Southern California, define consumer behaviour as the study of individuals, groups or organizations and the processes they use to select, secure, use and dispose of products, services, experiences or ideas to satisfy needs. Essentially, consumer behavior deals with how frequently a person or organization may purchase an item from a company. It closely relates to elements of customer service such as problem resolution and overall satisfaction and to marketing strategies such as pricing, promotion and product placement. Why Study Consumer Behaviour? Understanding consumer behaviour may lead to changes in the design of a pilot product, a product s packaging or its position within the store. Understanding why customers buy what they do also helps a company create campaigns to encourage repeat purchase and referrals. Consumers make decisions for different ... • 3. A Muscle Relaxant Introduction: A muscle relaxant is a pharmacologic aid use to alleviate tense muscles. It can be obtained as an over the counter drug or medication that requires a doctor s prescription. I will be presenting the value of muscle relaxant to overstimulated muscles with a neurologic involvement such as spasticity, and how it can help mitigate and revive the person ability to recapitulate his capability to perform his/her activities of daily living. Spasticity is described as an abnormal muscle tone that is velocity dependent, and it is usually correlated with an upper motor neuron lesion with an association of hyperactive deep tendon reflexes (Nair Marsden, 2014, p. 1). There are numerous neurologic diseases that exhibit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An interesting study of Orsnes, Sorensen, Larsen, Ravnborg, (2000, p. 247) stated that baclofen has minimal effect on gait improvements compared to placebo; these patients only received an adequate dose of the drug that will yield no side effects. The component of the gait that demonstrated a minimal change is a vertical unsteadiness. The researchers have attributed this change to the influence of baclofen on the knee extensors and ankle dorsiflexion at the final part of swing phase. Since this study has a small sample size, and patients did not receive the maximum dose to achieve a good result, further study in a larger group sample with different variations of dosage may have made this study demonstrate effectiveness in MS gait ... World War II started and that was an awful thing to open the new decade with, but unfortunately, that was what happened. All homes in the United Kingdom had to paint the windows black and drape dark sheets over the windows. They were only allowed small amounts of light at certain times. My great grandma was just a young girl when World War II was taking place. At just the age of 6, she and her family were being taken to air raid shelters. There was one shelter just a few miles away from the one my great grandma was taking shelter in that was blown up. The people were killed instantly from the shock and heat. The German Nazi s didn t surrender until 1944, and the war ended a year later in 1945. The 1940s was the most horrific and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... World War II was catastrophic to the whole world, and the United States took a huge part in it. It started for the United States when Japan dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor, on December 7, 1941 (Timeline). The bombing of Pearl Harbor is a day that will forever be remembered in infamy. The bombing led to The United States Marines taking shelter on Eniwetok outer atolls of the Marshall Islands during World War II. January 30, 1944 the United States armada targeted three other islands. These targeted islands later were bombed. The firebombed islands were on Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki from the United States. During World War II there were 1,000 wounded Americans, and 362 killed. 8,000 Japanese soldiers and people were taken out during World War II (Victory). These fatalities left families distressed, and lonesome. On May 14, the Dutch Army surrendered (Victory). I would tread the waters of global expansion and would first expand with our neighbors to the south, Mexico. Some of the economic issues that I would run into would be the low income revenue that families in Mexico face. The infrastructure in Mexico is well developed in major cities but that is about it. Other cities have poor to non existent infrastructure. The way I would mitigate these issues would be place my businesses in tourist cities (I.E. Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Monterrey, and Etc.) and international airports. The social culture difference that I would have to take into consideration are that many Mexicans only speak English. I would have to get bilingual workers that spoke both Spanish and English. I would also take into consideration the narco culture that they are currently living in. Many drug gangs are running the country and I would have to mitigate that so my workers would be safe. Technological issues would be minimal. Mexico is well off when it comes to internet technology. Almost every home in major cities now have Wi Fi connection. • 7. A Study On The And Properties Of Aluminium Alloys CHAPTER 3 LITERATURE REVIEW 3.1 Introduction The Al Zn Mg series aluminium alloys (7xxx) are the heat treatable alloys and widely applied as large structural components in navigation and transportation facilities, due to good combination of hardness, high strength and fracture toughness [1 6]. The use of Sc (scandium) to achieve grain refinement has recently received great attention. The microstructures and properties of aluminium alloys are strongly affected by adding small quantities of scandium. Scandium additions in excess of 0.55wt.% (i.e., hypereutectic) are very effective in grain refinement, suggesting that the primary ScAl3 phase serves as an effective grain nucleant [7 9]. The effect of a Sc addition will of course depend on the composition of the alloy. The additions of Sc in aluminium alloy appear to reduce hot tearing and shrinkage porosity. Hot shortness increase with increase in Zn but decrease with increase in Mg content [10, 11]. The process of precipitation in the Al Zn Mg alloy system is quite complex. The aged structure and the kinetics of ageing depend on both the Zn and Mg concentration and the temperatures of solution and ageing treatments. As the Sc contents increases within the specified solubility in the solid solution, the grains virtually do not disintegrate. The maximum solubility of scandium increases from 0.35 to 0.6 wt.% [12, 13]. When the amount of scandium exceeds the eutectic content and, consequently, there appear primary particles of ... • 8. Capitalism Is A Social System Essay For several centuries, capitalism, or more precisely free market capitalism has dominated the economies of several developing countries around the world. Capitalism, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, is defined as an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market ( Capitalism, n.d.). Capitalism is a social system which is based on individual rights in the free market and is run based on the idea of a laissez faire economy, an economy that is free of government control and intervention. A capitalist system is operated by private corporations in business sectors with the main incentive of gaining profits from the free market through the exchange of consumer goods and services. Therefore, capitalism is generally perceived to allow for more economic freedom and competition in the market to produce quality consumer goods and services in exchange of commodities, including wage labour. Generally, as private corporations in various business sectors gain profits in the market, they can then use a portion of their profits to contribute towards further building their commodities. This means that the value of labour increases as workers are provided with higher wages for their labour work. Thus, overall, free market capitalism supposedly allows for all members of ... The teacher acknowledges me with a wave while she is sitting with the children reading a story. I am there to observe John who is a 7 year old male student in the class who had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder by the psychiatrist at Jewish Family Children s Services. During a prior Child Study Team meeting, his teacher reported that he is constantly not on task and that his behavior is disrupting the classroom. I also wrote down a summary of my observations of the antecedent, behaviors and consequences that could be contributing to the problem. The teacher was teaching a spelling lesson. The teacher was orally giving the students a vocabulary word, which they had to write in a sentence. The classroom was noisy during this activity and John completed the first two sentences but then began doodling on his paper, rocking on his chair and talking to the person next to him. When the teacher warned him to stop talking, he complied but was still lost on what word they were doing. In the follow up Child Success Team meeting, I explain to John s parents and teacher, that John is in the developmental phase of Industry vs Inferiority. In order for John to succeed at this phase, it is important for the parents and teachers to set him up for success and then praise him. If the yelling continues, John can feel inferior, incapable of succeeding at school and his self esteem will be affected. I also explain that John may or may not qualify for an IEP. The parents sign forms giving the school psychologist and other members of the MET team permission to assess John to determine if he has a learning disability. I also explain to the parents that if he does not qualify for an IEP he most likely will qualify for a 504 plan, which will require the teacher to make accommodation in the ... • 10. Symbolism In Frankenstein The lessons the monster learns from the De Lacey family play an important role in the monsters coming of age in Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein. The De Lacey family is a poor family that the creature has been watching from the outside for some time now. Eventually, he wants to make an appearance to the family and show himself to get help. The perfect time is to knock at the door when nobody is home, except for the old man. All the monster wants is somebody who will accept him and care for him. As shown in Frankenstein, there is a strong symbolism in which the old man is blind and can t see the monster. Yet, he accepts him for who he is, while the rest of the De Lacey family harm him and beat him. Symbolism is also shown with the De Lacey family and their cottage. It has a strong representation with the Garden of Edenas the cottage acts as the garden. The novel Frankenstein has many different symbolic elements to it while being connected to the De Lacey s, including the symbolism of the blindman, the way the monster reacts as the humans react to his looks, and the comparison to the Garden of Eden. As shown throughout several chapters of Frankenstein, the old man gives the monster affection and shows that he ll care for him. Counseling Family Confidentiality Chapter 10: Counseling Families and Groups Counseling families can be difficult to enforce confidentiality that can be difficult t o make obligatory in group settings. Therefore, counselors should make extra efforts to ensure that group members understand the concept on how important confidentiality is (Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.271). Chapter 10 provides information on developing diversity and values in family and group counseling. How is confidentiality different when counseling couples, families, or groups, as opposed to counseling an individual client? According to the text book, confidentiality is different with couples and families due to privileged communication. When dealing with married couples, there are situations where stressful topics are discussed between the husband and the wife and later on a divorce may occur. One of the spouses may want a counselor to repeat confidential information in a legal court about the other spouse during their counseling sessions, whereas, the other spouse wants to keep her information enclosed ( Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.256).When counseling an individual client, the client is the only person that the counselor have to obligate to when ensuring confidentiality. He comes from a famous, well off landowning family in the southern part of France. From him being orphaned at a young age to Lafayette helping the American Revolution and vice versa the French revolution, Lafayette became one of the most important people in Western Europe in the 18th 19th century. Why was he more successful with the American Revolution than with helping out the French after he helped America become independent? As for the people he hanged out with during the American Revolution, he hanged out with the best that would not betray him such as George Washington or Benjamin Franklin, while in the French revolution, he was more or less on his own trying to protect himself from more dangers while things he could not control were happening all around him. Also in the American revolution, there was only one threat to Lafayette and that was the British while in the French revolution there were so many that Lafayette had to watch what he was doing at the time or he could be the next person being sentenced and being put on the next chopping block to be executed during the revolution. Taking a Look at Zombie Ants The stereotypical Zombie Ant , most typically found in a rain forest and or farm climate, are not the flesh tearing type of zombie you most likely had in mind, instead, fungal spreading mind controlled ants, taken over by a fungal parasite. And these ants, are far from usual. There is a cycling, almost endless process, repeated in three stages. The process and fungusis called Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis. During the first faze, the fungal parasite picked up by the target ant, enters the ant s brain, by latching on to the skin, literally tearing its way through its cuticle, and separating all inside muscle tissue. The fungus is picked up from the forest floor, in particles dropped by another infected ant. This powerful overtaking fungus is known as. After the fungus has entered the body, it starts to travel up into the head of the infected ant. After the parasite has entered the brain, the zombification stage of the fungus inside the ant causes the fungus to grow in the head and take over the mind, where the ant now goes through an uncontrollable, helpless faze, where the fungus is present in the head, and now in charge of the ant s mind. In full control of the ant s body, the fungus can now direct the ant away from it s natural daily routine, and cause it to roam around the forest hoplessly. The reason being for the fungus to target and take over these ants in the first place is to create a sort of mass production of the fungul parasitic ants, taking over the forest, ... Religious Issues In Mandala In 1978, Kim Seongdong published the literary work called Mandala; a novel that brought him recognition as a writer and led him to win the Literature Prize for Novelists, but it also meant his excommunication from the Buddhist order he belonged to. In Mandala, Kim presents the story of a young itinerant Buddhist called Bobun who in his journey arrives in the Byongsa temple and meets an older monk by the name Yisan. At first, Bobun is outraged by Yisan s constant drinking and disrespectful words as well as actions, but he is forced to share the guest room with the older monk; which leads Bobun to confront Yisan about his actions and eventually both monks engage in deep conversations regarding what is right and what is wrong, what monks should and shouldn t do, and what Buddhism really means. ... Treatment Of Pituitary Gigantism Is A Rare Endocrine Disorder Treatment of pituitary gigantism Nolan Coburn BIOL 2458, Mustafi Raisi, October 12, 2016 Introduction Pituitary gigantism is a rare endocrine disorder in which the anterior pituitary releases an excess of growth hormone (GH) during childhood before the epiphyseal plates close, causing abnormal increased somatic growth in the patient, occurring usually because of a pituitary tumor, also called an adenoma (Goldenberg et al. 2009). There are several treatments that can usually prevent pituitary gigantism or halt the rapid growth if caught early enough. These treatments include drug therapy, surgical removal of the adenoma, and radiation therapy (Flitsch et al. 2000). It is crucial that pituitary gigantism is detected and treated before excessive growth occurs, as it can cause uneven and abnormal growth in the extremities, facial deformities, severe headaches, blindness, and a shortened life expectancy (de Herder 2008). However, if treated soon enough, patients can live a long, healthy and happy life. Below, I will detail the different methods of treatment and how they work. Body Detecting GH secreting pituitary adenomas in young children before pituitary gigantism occurs is of utmost importance, as gigantism is irreversible once the extreme growth occurs. • 20. Negative And Negative Impacts Of Bullying Essay Prevalence The nature of bullying presents some challenges to accurately determining either its prevalence or severity. Both the positive and negative social interactions of school aged children may be misinterpreted by peers or by education professionals. Additionally, victims and perpetrators of bullyingmay be less likely to provide truthful responses to research inquiries out of fear of retaliation from peers or school personnel. In spite of these challenges, numerous recent studies on bullying have produced fairly consistent results that may point to an accurate baseline of bullying activity. Several studies demonstrate that bullying continues to be a significant issue for both primary and secondary schools (Casebeer, 2012; Low et al., 2014; and Veenstra, Lindenberg, Huitsing, Sainio, Salmivalli, 2014). Current literature suggests that around 30 % of students in the United States will experience bullying (Casebeer, 2012; Cornell, Gregory, Huang, Fan, 2013; and O Brennan, Waasdorp, Bradshaw, 2014). With studies consistently reporting bullying rates of close to one third of U.S. students, it is vital to understand what bullying looks like in the present culture. Current major types of bullying include verbal, physical, relational, and cyber based bullying (Casebeer, 2012; Chisholm, 2014). Physical and verbal aggression, such as fighting or teasing, is typically easier to recognize than relational and cyber based bullying tactics. Even in the case of overt bullying ... As their time with the lioness continues, they are given orders to return her to the wild, where they realize they must return her to her roots among the African Savannah, touching on the theme of natureand the true meaning of freedom. Elsa s legacy within this film is her role as an ambassador like role in being a bridge between mankind and nature in helping understand the limit in humanity s ability to survive alongside the wild. Like humans, animals are capable of emotion. Many people fear creatures like Elsa because they are mainly known for their instinctual and predatorial nature. In the film, John Kendall, George s boss and presumably experienced in wildlife like lions, is fearful of Elsa despite her easygoing and merry attitude with the Adamsons. His position somewhat makes this ironic, as one would not normally fear what they are trying to protect and take care of. Elsa portrays a wide range of emotions that people would usually think she would be unable to comprehend. Elsa expresses sorrow when Joy leaves for town and as she waits for her to come back home, and then elation in Joy s return. Scientific knowledge is reliable knowledge because it is objectively proven knowledge. Alan Chalmers, What Is This Thing Called Science?, 1982, p.1. An inductivist makes observations, then creates a general statement that aims to explain the encountered phenomenon. However, Karl Popper, another scientific philosopher, has completely rejected this scientific method and has argued against the sole use of induction when conducting scientific research. Besides for this, the story of Uther and Igraine is straight out of Malory. Uther starts a war with the Duke of Cornwall because Uther so openly desires Cornwall s wife, Igraine. Merlin agrees to give Uther the semblance of Cornwall so Uther can sleep with Igraine. In exchange for this service, the baby that will come from the adulterous union will be given to Merlin. An addition of the film is that before Uther walks into the castle as Cornwall, little Morganna has a vision that her father has died. When Uther comes into the room where Morganna and Igraine are, Morganna knows who he really is. Later on in the story, little Morganna watches as Merlin takes baby Arthur away. Philosophical Themes In Vertigo Vertigo is an intriguing film throwing several philosophical themes at the viewer, including the ideas of love, appearance/reality, and subjective/objective personality. By the use of camera shots, editing, colour, and more, Vertigo provides viewers to immerse themselves into these themes and ponder over what these messages mean and apply to their individual ways of thinking. An interesting concept from the filmthat I want to dwell on more is the theme of appearance vs. reality. The film creates a conflict between these two opposites, mainly by the physical form of Gavin Elster s wife Madeleine (also known as accessory to murder Judy ) to the protagonist of the film, John Scottie Ferguson as he tries to unravel the mystery of who she really is. Following the philosophical theme, Madeleine is both a literal image and a real person. The film emphasizes the finish of the transformation with the completed Judy, walking towards the screen with a smile as an identical image of Madeleine. • 44. Why Gm Crop Should Be Grown Essay Biology 3.2 Why GM crop should be grown in New Zealand Introduction A Genetically modified organism (GMO) is the product of artificially changing the genome of an organism, resulting in a change in phenotype. This process is commonly found used on crops and foods that we all eat. The reason that GM is used is that it causes the organism to express a phenotype that has some sort of benefit towards the organism. This practice is widely used in Agriculture as causes the crops to develop certain traits to adapt to the environment and survive; the crops are also modified to fit human preference. For example some crops are genetically modified so the fruit they bear grow larger. From these benefits, you may think that everyone would support GM crops, but there is a large amount of people that are against it especially in New Zealand as you cannot plant GM crops. The cause of this controversy is that GM crops could be dangerous for human consumption, due many claims that people have attained diseases and sicknesses from toxins within the crops. Biological Concepts and Implications The basis of Genetic engineering is the removal of one or more genes in an organism and then it is inserted in the DNA of another organism. By doing this, we can express certain traits due to the newly inserted gene which us as consumers find favourable. An example is the imported GM corn in New Zealand. The feminization of poverty describes a phenomenon in which women represent a disproportionate percentage of the United States poor. The Scandinavian countries and the United Kingdom were the main targets of allegations that the United Stateswas attempting to become socialist. However, there is an alternative path to universal healthcare that may provide a better option for the United States during this time of policy reform. I argue that the United States should seek to emulate the Netherlands in implementing universal healthcare coverage for all citizens. Although the United States has attempted to enact healthcare reforms similar to that of the Netherlands, the current trials in the Supreme Court threaten to undermine these reforms. By comparing the health statistics of the United States and the Netherlands, I hope to provide a convincing argument that the reforms enacted by the ACA, which emulate the Dutch reforms, should improve the healthcare system and overall health of the county. This policy complies with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) which was an act made to secure computer systems and networks from unapproved access. By complying with legal obligation, Blyth s Books can pursue legal or disciplinary action against anyone (employee or otherwise) guilty of breaching their systems. WEAKNESSES The Data Protection Act (1998) provides the principles which must be adhered to in order to ensure the total protection of data while the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035 presents organisations with guidance in the management of information security incidents. This standard stipulates that an organisation should have a clear and concise information security incident management policy. The security incident management policy of Blyth s Books while compliant with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) does not show that it is compliant with the Data Protection Act (DPA) (1998) and the DPA (1998) being a legal aspect of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035, which must be adhered to, this policy is also not compliant with the standard. ... • 54. How Does Stephen Albert Create A Labyrinth Simultaneous Futures: The Role of Time in The Garden of the Forking Paths In The Garden of the Forking Paths by Jorge Luis Borges, Stephen Albert is studying the work of TsК№ui PГЄn. His work is not only a book, but also a labyrinth. Many people think that the book and the labyrinth are two different things, but Stephen Albert has a different theory; it is the theory of a never ending book. It is never ending because TsК№ui PГЄn has chosen all possible futures simultaneously. TsК№ui PГЄn has written a book and a labyrinth, which is a never ending story of endless possible futures that demonstrates the possibility for many different futures in real life. TsК№ui PГЄn has written a never ending book that he also classifies as a labyrinth. Albert has just met Dr. Yu Tsun and is discussing with him the works of his ancestor, TsК№ui PГЄn. Albert, while showing Dr. Yu Tsun the labyrinth, says, К»TsК№ui PГЄn must have said once: I am withdrawing to write a book. And another time: I am withdrawing to construct a labyrinth. Every one imagined two works; to no one did it occur that the book and the maze were one and the same thing (2186). In this passage, Albert... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every day, people are presented with opportunities that can lead to rewards in their life. Sometimes people chose the option that hurts them in the future, but sometimes they chose the option that benefits them in the future. Everything that people do in life leads to something bigger. It is up to the people to decide how they want to live their lives. When given an opportunity, people should think about what could happen in the future before they decide. Even the smallest things in life can count the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. How Is Heathcliff Presented In Wuthering Heights In Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte s sister, Charlotte Bronte described Heathcliff as a man s shape animated by demon life a ghoul . Bronte is at her best when she is describing him, and his looks garner a lot of attention from her and other characters. In Heathcliff s life, his youthful love for Catherine Earnshawis better than his final years of vengeance. Heathcliff, who is one of the main characters, is presented in many forms in the novel. He is portrayed as a man who loves Catherine, homeless, and vengeful. He is also described as evil because he was treated badly in his youth and Catherine didn t choose him as her husband, she chose Edgar Linton. When Mr. Earnshaw brought Heathcliff to his house, he was treated badly by Hindley.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the speech between Catherine and Nelly Dean, Heathcliff left the house because he heard Catherine would not choose to marry him. When he returned, he is a different man, not the Heathcliff of the past. On the night that Catherine shared her story with Mrs. Dean, Heathcliff felt so bad about what she said. Catherine and Nelly Dean thought that Heathcliff was in the stable, but he was not. You love Edgar because he is handsome, and young, and cheerful, and rich, and love you (Bronte, 57). Catherine loves Edgar because of many things he was, but if he wasn t that, Catherine might not love him. In Catherine heart, Heathcliff, there is almost only Heathcliff. My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I m well aware, as winter changes the tree. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath a source of little visible delight, but necessary (Bronte, 60). Catherine s love for Edgar can be changed any time, so she loves him because he has much money. Or maybe, she loves him and uses his money to help Heathcliff. But her love for Heathcliff will not be changed. This is a passionate love, a real love and unrequited love. Unrequited love is the love that no one wants. It makes people so miserable. When loving someone and that person loves too, but they can t come together, two people will feel regret. After Heathcliff heard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
