What Is Charlemagne s Legacy
Son of Pepin the Short, King of the Franks from 751 to 768, (Nelson 2018 para 2) Charlemagne was
born into a family of success and religion. From 768 to 814, ( Charlemagne Facts Summary
HISTORY.com , n.d.) Charlemagne, or Charles I, was a medieval emperor, who ruled much of western
Europe. He became King of the Franks, a Germanic tribe that spread throughout present day France,
Luxembourg, Belgium, western Germany and the Netherlands, in 771 ( Charlemagne Facts Summary
HISTORY.com , n.d.), ultimately changing the face and future of medieval Europe. In order to fully
understand and evaluate Charlemagne s impact and legacy, it is necessary to investigate his reign,
territorial expansion and his influence on the church.
Over the course of Charlemagne s reign as king, his empire and territory extended beyond the initial
Frankish kingdom to create a larger unified kingdom. Sometimes referred to as the Father of Europe ,
Charlemagne spent much of his reign attempting to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acting as a zealous guardian of Christianity, Charlemagne donated riches and property to the church
and defended the popes. He used military force and punishment in an attempt to make all of his
subjects convert to Christianity. In 800 ( Life of Charlemagne | Christian History Institute , n.d.),
Charlemagne was crowned as emperor of the Romans, legitimising his rule and influence on the
Church. He toiled to unite and reform the Church. Desiring to broaden the spread of Christianity
within his rule, he dispatched armies to vanquish surrounding lands and obligated citizens to convert.
The Holy Roman Empire transfigured the Church by combining and conquering the beliefs of millions
of people. Charlemagne worked in conjunction with many other Christian countries in order to spread

Empty Nest Syndrome Theme
ESSAY: EMPTY NEST SYNDROME
It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will
make them successful human beings.
Ann Lander.
Empty nest syndrome is a psychological condition faced by most of the parents after a certain point of
time in their lives when their children leave them for their higher education, marriage. This condition
is most common in mothers since they are the ones who have spent almost eighteen to nineteen years
of their life with their children growing them from toddlers to teen.
Hasan Manzar s The Cactus is a very well written story throws the light upon the universal experience
which the whole world is facing from the past thousands of decades. The story brings out the life of an
old couple. A family of three daughters, two sons, and seven grandchildren, couple living in huge well
nestled house and the irony is that in this mammoth house there was no one living except the old
sensitive couple. Sensitive here refers to the scene where they have created a hole in the eave allowing
the cactus to grow. Also we can interpret cactus as the old couple s children who are not restricted by
the boundaries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be justified in two ways, firstly polished rubber plants and well groomed house indicates that there
whole time is diverted to these works and secondly may be they don t want their old memories in the

Interplay Of Conflict And Deception In Interpersonal...
Two parts of interpersonal communication go hand in hand are conflict and deception. One can lead to
the other and vice versa. Most people try to avoid both conflict and deception, but people must realize
that they have benefits and are a reality in everyday interactions. The interplay of conflict and
deception specifically harnessed my attention over the past few chapters. Interpersonal conflict is an
expressed struggle between two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce
resources, and interference from the other party in achieving their goals (Floyd, 2011, p. 350). To fully
understand conflict, the definition can be broken down further. As Kory Floyd (2011) describes,
conflict is an expressed struggle. A conflict is not fully present until one party s feelings are aware to
the other party. This can be done through both verbal and nonverbal behaviors. Conflict occurs
between interdependent parties as Floyd (2011) explains. A disagreement becomes a conflict if both
parties depend on each other in some way. For example, the relationship between a child and their
parents is a relationship that has high interdependence. If there is no dependence between the two
parties, Floyd (2011) does not consider it interpersonal conflict, which I personally found interesting.
The next part of the definition declares that conflict is about the goals the parties perceive see as
incompatible. Incompatible, means that both party s needs cannot be met. However, Floyd

Theme Of Self In The Alchemist
1.1 Introduction The death of self is chosen as the subject of study in Paulo Coelho s The Alchemist
for research purpose. The self to the characters in this novel is shadowed in the name of searching
destiny and pursuing dream. The study of self is not an easy task. The self concept is discussed below
on the basis of some references and the novel, The Alchemist.
The question may be raised: is the self a fact in Coelho s The Alchemist? Coelho has used the
individual or self of the characters as the umbra and created penumbra around it to give concrete form
in the novel. But, this might be refuted in terms that the individual loses his/her identity when being
manipulated by external agent. What might be the external agent or force if ... Show more content on

Will: Fate is constantly intertwined with will, and a key theme of the book focuses on how much in
life is under one s control, and how much is controlled by fate. The old king states that the world s
greatest lie is that at some point during our lives, we lose control of what s happening to us, and our
lives become controlled by fate. While this point of view strongly supports that will has a stronger
hold on one s destiny, later events, such as Santiago and the alchemist being caught by warring tribes,
demonstrate fate s hold on one s life. However, in every situation where fate does take over, the
characters are capable to excavate themselves from the situation. For, instance, after being caught by
the tribal chief, Santiago is able to turn him into the wind, demonstrate his power, and is

How Billing Current Week + 2 Fortnightly Frequency works?
This video will introduce how current week + 2 fortnightly frequency billing cycle works.
Regarding the billing cycle name, obviously, guardians will pay the current fee and the following 2
weeks fee after the current week in advance.
Now, let me tell you the details.
Assume you start on week 0, usually, the child care centre will submit the attendance for the week just
gone, that is to say, the centre will submit week 0 attendance to Government CCMS. Then CCMS will
calculate the CCB, CCR JFA rebates for week 0 over the weekend. On Saturday on week 0, guardians
will receive the 1st invoice for the payment, and the amount on the invoice is estimated gap fee (after
CCB, CCR JFA calculation) for the upcoming 3 weeks based on the week 0 attendance. ... Show more

On Monday, the payment gateway provider will deduct the amount on the invoice from guardians
bank account. Now, guardians have already paid the current week gap fee and the following 2 weeks

the centre s bank account. On Thursday, the payment gateway provider will pay the week1 to 3 gap
fee which is charged on Monday to the centre s bank account. On Friday, the centre will submit the
attendance to CCMS for the week (week 1) just gone again. Then, CCMS will calculate the week 1
rebates based on the submitted attendance during the weekend. Because guardians are on fortnightly
frequency, they won t receive any invoice on the weekend and they also don t need to make any

Pluto And Sun Comparison
Being asked to compare my mother with my father is like being asked to compare Pluto with the Sun.
Both completely separate entities consisting of elements antagonistic to each other. Each containing
their own distinct atmosphere and climate: each having their own characteristic qualities that affect the
life surrounding them or subsequent lack thereof. To be quite honest, I don t understand how two
people that are so fundamentally different could have ever fallen in love, fallen into each other s orbit
rather. Polar opposites each on the respective opposite of the perceived solar system. Pulled together
by gravity, yet when found close together they seemed to wear on each other. They were two entirely
separate entities of course; it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their polarity suggests as if their relationship was like the Sun was slowly engulfing Pluto into its
gravity. Coexistence was not an option, not a possibility. Thus came their inevitable, fateful, grand
end.
Like the sun, my mother s appearance is bright, recognizable and captivating. Her beauty can be seen
from great lengths and not easily circumvented. Thankfully, I take after her.
Fortunately for me, I did not inherit any of my father s aberrant or a symmetrical physical attributes.
To best describe him I would recommend visualizing something ogre like. Most importantly, their role
in my universe has always been entirely different. Their characteristic qualities have been the defining
factors in how they affect and influence the lives surrounding them. My mother s all encompassing
love, compassion and support has always been present. She is essential to the life surrounding her, she
sustains the needs of those within her gravity. She, as the Sun, has always been close to my earthly
realm always within reach.
Pluto, being so distant, is non essential. It is incapable of affecting Earth from such a far distance;
Pluto is in no way necessary for

Jonathan Haidt s Hard Times
In the book Hard Times (1856/1995), by Charles Dickens, the citizens of Coketown are faced with
moral situations. The characters have caused emotional harm to others or themselves due to their
decisions. Most of the replies to these moral dilemmas are based on how selfish or selfless these
characters. They can only choose between the choices that value the other people or value themselves.
Two characters that make these decisions are Stephen, a worker at the Hand in Coketown, and Louisa,
the daughter of a teacher in the town. Some of their choices may seem questionable to others. But
most of them can be explained in Jonathan Haidt s book The Righteous Mind. In his book, Haidt
explains about the six moral foundations, two of them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Us humans are selectively fair to those that have a positive relationship with us and those who have a
negative relationship towards us are known as cheaters.
Cheating
The association between Stephen and his wife is a solid example of the cheating rudiment. He is
making dishonest choices because he does not have a healthy relationship with his wife anymore.
After meeting an old woman, Stephen started thinking about Racheal: He thought of the number of
girls and women she had seen marry...how she had contentedly pursued her own lone quite path for
him. (p.82) When we love someone, we tend to think often about the person we have feelings for. He
is cheating on his wife because he is fantasizing about Racheal instead of his current wife. Later, his

Stephen s wife passes Stephen, who appears to be asleep. But it turned out that All this time, as if a
spell were on him, he was motionless and powerless, except to watch her. Stephen wasn t asleep.
Rather than saving her from accidentally poisoning, Stephen decided to do nothing but watch her fall
into her death. This is cheating because he would rather have her dead than preventing him from
having a marriage with Racheal. He would sacrifice her only for his satisfaction. Before this event,
Stephen tells Mr. Bounderby that his relationship goes From bad to worse, from worse to worsen. She

How Does Ionic Boding Affect Melting And Boiling Point
Report on structure and bonding and how it effects the melting and boiling point across period 3
Covalent bonding is a bond where two or more atoms share electrons. The atom is unstable on its own
and is not willing to give and electron away, therefore they share, which makes them stable. This can
also be described are the molecules being held together by a strong covalent bond. An example of this
would be Hydrogen, on its own it is unstable, so it shares its only electron with another, giving it a
strong covalent bond. Hydrogen only has one electron, but requires two for its outer shell, unable to
give one away, they share. H + H = H2
Ionic boding is when an atom gives another electron to another to form an ionic bond. One atom will
donate an electron to another to fill its outer shell, that is held together by Electrostatic attraction.
These bonds involve Cations, which are positive Ions that are mostly metals and Anions which are
negative Ions that are mostly non metals. An example of this would be Sodium and Chlorine. Sodium
has one electron on its outer shell, Chlorine has seven electrons on its outer shell. Chlorine needs eight
electrons on its outer shell to make it stable. Sodium has a spare electron, so will donate it to Chlorine.
Na + Cl = NaCl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metals have a giant metallic lattice, this is described as electrons being close packed together, known
as a sea of positive delocalised electrons. A strong delocalised electron means that they are a good
conductor of electricity and can pass kinetic energy to each other. The electrons have a strong
electrostatic attraction, meaning they have a high melting point and the more electrons the higher the
melting point

The Populist Party, Political And Economic Changes Did The...
1. What economic issues gave rise to the Populist Party, and what political and economic changes did
the party advocate? Why were they considered so radical? Due to ...falling agricultural prices and
growing economic dependency (Foner 636) in the mid nineteenth century, farmers in the South began
to face inevitable economic uncertainty. Farmers, both white and black alike, were thrown into
poverty due to sharecropping and the fall of the price of cotton, and many faced the fear of losing
everything they had due the inability to pay bank loans. Believing that their situation was caused by
...high freight rates...excessive interest rates for loans...and the fiscal policies of the government
(Foner 636), disgruntled farmers hoped to better their lives and conditions through the founding of the
Farmers Alliance in the 1870s. However, by the 1890s, the Alliance transformed into what became
known as the Populist Party. Keeping their roots in mind, the Populists sought to end what they
considered political corruption and economic inequality that arose during the Reconstruction. In order
to do so, they proposed ...the direct election of U.S. senators, government control of currency, a
graduated income tax, a system of low class public financing...the right of workers to form labor
unions...[and a] public ownership of the railroads (Foner 638). In addition to their propositions, the
Populists were considered radical due to their embracement of science and technology, their belief that

There are several stories that have monkey as an important character. In Hindu culture, the most
famous monkey character is Hanuman, from the great Ramayana. Similar to Lutung, Hanuman is also
a son of a goddess. The different is that Lutung is actually born in a human form, while Hanuman is
originally born as a monkey. Another story that has monkey as its character is Journey to the West .
The character is a monkey, which is also named Monkey. Same with Lutung, Monkey in this story
goes to a place which is not his origin place. Monkey is also shown to be a good leader in his society.
Lutung is also a good leader for all other animals and pohaci in the forest where Purbasari is exiled.
The major different between these two characters, Hanuman and Monkey, with Lutung is their
behavior. Lutung is a very well behaved and virtuous character, while Hanuman is considered naughty
as the gods, that he is punished by not being able to remember his ability, and Monkey often brings
chaos, that he is punished by his

An Analysis Of The Torso Of Aphrodite
During my visit to the Tampa Museum of Art, I observed and viewed various pieces from The
Classical World exhibit. While I observed numerous works, I was drawn to a specific piece due to its
uniqueness when compared to the other pieces in the exhibit. In this paper, I will be describing The
Torso of Aphrodite, using my own viewpoints and the elements of formal art analysis, in order to
explain the uniqueness when compared to other pieces in The Classical World exhibit.
The Torso of Aphrodite was constructed in the 1st century A.D. and is made entirely of marble. The
torso used to belong to a life sized version statue of The Greek goddess of love Aphrodite. From the
moment I saw this piece, I knew I was attracted to it in a deeper way. It ... Show more content on

As the robe simultaneously conceals and reveals, it blends nicely into the lower part of her torso. Her
body is proportioned smoothly, with no areas of obvious fault or imperfection. I think having those
sensual characteristics adds to her overall beauty.
This sculpture is comprised of marble, and due to its large size it was easier for me to develop an
impression about the piece because I can focus on specific parts in more detail. To understand the
piece, a very visual and detailed perspective is needed. Judging by the way the thighs are represented,
it appears as though she is striking a contrapposto pose, which makes her appear static. She has most
of her weight shifted on her left leg, but not all of it The focal point of this piece I believe is her robe.
It skillfully falls down her left side, while leaving other parts exposed, drawing the main attention of
this piece. Few different types of shapes are displayed, except the shape of her legs and the form of the
robe. The physical texture was smooth throughout the entire piece, partly due to the material it is made
of. There is only this one texture, as her robe and body parts all feel the same.
The title of this piece is Torso of Aphrodite/Venus . This piece was discovered outside of Rome in
1771. Afterwards, it was purchased by a wealthy English collector, who displayed it in his home.
Today, the piece resides at the

The Black Lace Fan My Mother Gave Me
Practice Commentary: The Black Lace Fan My Mother Gave Me Eavan Bolland s The Black Lace
Fan my Mother Gave me from her book, Outside History (1990) gives readers the first impression that
the poem is about the value of a fan that has been passed down to her. However, based on the title, the
term black lace raises a sense of mystery and darkness as black lace is not completely see through,
there are spots that need to be filled in. To illustrate the value of the black lace fan, the speaker, who is
unknown, narrates on how the mother received it and also used very vivid descriptions on its
significance. To add to the sense of mystery suggested by the title, the use of him and her instead of
actual names enhances this quality of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shortness of the sentence, She stood up acts as a sudden pause in the story, as though this abrupt
action has frozen time. In the next few lines, Bolland uses a miserable tone to reflect on the mother s
mood. To emphasize this sense of misery, she uses the three rhyming words, emptying , killing and
lighting , which have the connotations of bitterness and depression. Bolland also uses pathetic fallacy
to reflect on the emotions of the mother, stating that the distance smelled of rain and lightning. The
distance that is mentioned here may symbolize how distant she and her lover is now. At this point, the
readers would feel a sense of pathos towards this character. Hence, the third stanza is a transitioning
phase between her presence of the current situation and her stream of consciousness. As mentioned
before, the mother loses touch with the real world and is engaged in the beauty and delicacy of the
black lace fan. Bolland s use of visual imagery is impressive, as the readers get to have a clear picture
of the texture and details of the fan. The lines that read These are wild roses, appliqued on silk by
hand, Darkly picked, stitched boldly, quickly. make the description of the fan sound much more
interesting as Bolland has used

Loggerhead Turtle Essay
significantly impact loggerhead nesting by making many current or potential nesting sites unviable
(Ehrhart et al.).
A decline in loggerhead populations due to temperature increases will have a large ecological effect as
loggerhead turtles play important ecological roles such as maintaining food webs, cycling nutrients,
and modifying habitat (Wilson et al. 2010 and Bjorndal 2003). Loggerhead turtles physically support
many marine species. Loggerheads support the largest and most diverse amounts of epibionts of any
marine turtle species. There are many epibionic species that are endemic to sea turtles and sea turtles
maintain biodiversity in epibiont communities. A period of five to ten years may have minimal

Loggerhead eggs and hatchlings are a large food source for a variety of terrestrial animals, nearshore
predatory fish, and seabirds, providing substantial amounts of energy and nutrients for these species

such as decreased growth rates or reproductive output for these predator species and a fifty year period
of loggerhead turtle decline may potentially have more severe impacts such as significant declines for
local populations that rely on eggs and hatchlings as a food source.
Some species may see increases from declines of loggerhead sea turtles. Loggerhead turtles are
species generalists and compete with other carnivorous predators whose diets overlap with theirs

substantial diet overlap and a decline in loggerhead sea turtles may reduce the amount of competition

The Absurdity in Waiting for Godot Essay
In Waiting for Godot, Beckett often focused on the idea of the suffering of being. Most of the play
deals with the fact that Estragon and Vladimir are waiting for something to relieve them from their
boredom. Godot can be understood as one of the many things in life that people wait for. Waiting for
Godot is part of the Theater of the Absurd . This implies that it is meant to be irrational and
meaningless. Absurd theater does not have the concepts of drama, chronological plot, logical
language, themes, and recognizable settings. There is also a split between the intellect and the body
within the work. Vladimir represents the intellect and Estragon the body, both cannot exist without the
other. In the beginning we are thrown into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It makes an interesting point since neither of them aren t saying anything new, it s like having a

Estragon and Vladamir continuously repeat their actions day after day and unable to go about life as

Speech On Plastics
Year 10 English
Language Analysis Essay
In a response to a recent rise in the number of plastic bags, debate has resurfaced in the media
regarding the extensive use and deposition of plastic bags. Stakeholders which include the Australian
Retailers Association, governments of different states and various legislations have implemented
measures to reduce the total number of plastic bags that are being consumed and eternally
contaminated. The wider implications include, soaring death rates of a number of marine animals and
the exponential cost on recycling plastic bags. In the opinion piece titled, Forget, reuse and recycle.
Let s flat out reject plastic bags, which appeared on 31 August 2017 in the Courier Mail, author Jane
Fynes Clinton contends in a controlled and authoritative tone that the use of plastic bags are an
ongoing concern and change that is necessary is disregarded. Dr Clinton has put forward this article to
citizens of Australia, local supermarkets, governments and institutes.
Establishing with outrage and melancholy, Clinton argues that plastic bags do not just contaminate the
oceans, but also violate the environmental terms and affect many marine organisms. The author s
convincing use of active voice, highlighting that, change is coming, but we are hastening frustratingly,
not only asserts a sense of guilt in the reader, but also seeks to reinforce that we as humans continue to
oscillate on whether we should protect marine life that we need for the future. It is now becoming
ubiquitous. In a frustrated manner, the author employs the reader s sense of fear that, the changes are
going to bite hard some creatures. This phrase embeds a a frank sentiment in the audience who are
stubborn to change and incline to their negative opinions, while also urging our support the contention
by creating an appeal to authority. Moreover, the context is heightened by her reference to
supermarkets chains announcing a bag ban. Moreover, in the following sentence, It is frightening,
appeals to the audience s sense of fear. This encourages the reader to think about the consequences of
the millions of plastic bags floating in our precious oceans. The inclusion of the image of a person

Archbishop Clune Case Study
In December 1921 the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Clune, took over the administration of the
Geraldton diocese on the death of Bishop Kelly, Father Hawes long time supporter and friend. Already
familiar with Father Hawes architecture through his presence at the opening of the Cathedral of St
Francis Xavier Cathedral in 1918, Archbishop Clune initially asked Father Hawes to draw up designs
to extend and enlarge the existing small Perth Cathedral. Father Hawes set about this task
enthusiastically and submitted a folio of plans to Archbishop Clune in July 1922.
Archbishop Clune, meanwhile, was under pressure from some of his clergy and an influential Perth
architect, Michael Cavanagh, to build a completely new cathedral using Donnybrook stone. The
Archbishop, nervous that the funds to build a new cathedral could not be raised, instructed Father
Hawes to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further correspondence between him and the Archbishop led to Father Hawes developing plans for a

He completed the designs for the new Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in early 1923. In May

Characteristics Of The Tiger
In The Jungle Book, the tiger named Shere Khan plays the villain. Although the movie makes the tiger
look evil, it s actually just a normal animal trying to survive in the wild like any other. Tigers are one
of the biggest cats and they are carnivores. They have a territorial behavior and they are sadly
endangered. Adult tigers are huge. They are 2.3 to 4 feet tall. Tigers also weigh a lot. A male tiger
weighs 200 to 670 pounds. Female tigers weigh from 140 to 370 pounds. Cubs can weigh 2.2 pounds
at birth. As Whitfield puts it The largest of the big cats, the tiger has a massive, muscular body and
powerful limbs. (pg 147). Tigers are massive animals. Tigers also have long bodies. A male s body
length is from 8.2ft to 13ft. Females can be as long as 6.6 to 9ft. They can live from 20 to 26 years.
Tigers can have two to four cubs every two years. Also according to the WWF On average, tigers give
birth to two to four cubs every two years. If all the cubs in one litter die, a second litter may be
produced within five months. (WWF,2017) . Tigers are known as one of the largest cats in the world.
Also they are orange with black stripes, kind of like a zebra, but a zebra is white. No two tigers will
have the same number of markings on their coats. Since, a tiger is a large cat, they will need to eat a
lot of meat. According to Amelia Meyers in her website tigers.org, tigers have 30 teeth, which...help
them to grip struggling prey, break bones and rip flesh. Tigers

Indian Writing in English
Chapter 1 Introduction Indian writing in English has a comparatively short but highly stimulating
history. In 1793, Sake Dean Mahomed wrote conceivably the first book by an Indian in English, called
The Travels of Dean Mahomed . However, most early Indian writing in English was non fictional
work, such as biographies and political essays. This began to change in the late 1800s, when famous
Indian authors who wrote mostly in their mother tongue, began to try their hand at writing in English.
In the early 1900s, Rabindranath Tagore began translating his works from Bengali to English. During
the start of 1917 Dhan Gopal Mukerji wrote a number of stories mostly for children with Indian setup.
He was honored with the Newbery medal in 1928 for Gay Neck, the Story of a Pigeon. Soon after, a
whole new generation of Indian authors, who wrote almost exclusively in English appeared. Starting
in 1935 with R.K. Narayan s most famous collection titled Swami and Friends and Mulk Raj Anand s
Untouchable followed by Raja Rao s book Kanthapura in 1938.The thing that distinguished Narayan
s, Anand s and Rao s works from the Indian authors before them was the use of Indianess in their work
which can be very well seen in terms of the words and style they used. They also brought forward the
story of the Indian common man. This gave birth to new ranks of Indians reading English literature.
Their works were the precursors to the magnificent

Pollution In Air Pollution
Demolition and Construction sites are bad when it comes to the control of particulates causing an
increase in air pollution. The particulates can be emitted by the process of knocking down or
disturbing the building letting the particulate free and get into the air reducing the quality. If the
workers do not manage what they are doing correctly, it can have harmful impacts on not only their
health but the communities and the environment. At times enforcing the laws and good practice can be
expensive and very disruptive. The legislation includes things like Identifying activities that create
pollution, Environmental risk assessment, selecting low emission materials and getting the right
training and using the proper methods. But what is classified as particulates and what are they? They
can be very broad but things such as Dust and asbestos from knocking buildings down that can float
away causing harm to the environment, and people s health, motor vehicle emissions and smoke from
power tools also can have a significant impact.
There are many ways in which emissions can be controlled including things such as Demolition
workers can Water down the building as they are knocking it down to weigh down the particulates.
Using the water to weigh down particualtes can be harmfull, as if the workers use to much water to
weigh down this particualtes it can cause run off. This run off can end up in the river sytems and throw
this way the particualtes can polute and cause harm to the enviroment and the animals in th eater.
Workers can also time it to the wind, i.e. on windy days don t do work that will cause a lot of
particulates to float around. They can even be aware of the environment in which they are working in
and know the restrictions and the history s (mainly for older homes) of other houses to get a broader
idea if the particulates cause more harm than a newer house might. For things such as Sanding,
grinding and welding the workers can also use water to weigh down the particulates or use a type of
grad method to trap the particulates. There are many more methods to different kinds of activities that
may occur, but they are all mainly using the same type of techniques.
But on the other hand, implementing these

Training and Development in Hr
Training can be introduced simply as a process of assisting a person for enhancing his efficiency and
effectiveness to a particular work area by getting more knowledge and practices. Also training is
important to establish specific skills, abilities and knowledge to an employee. For an organization,
training and development are important as well as organizational growth, because the organizational
growth and profit are also dependent on the training. But the training is not a core of organizational
development. It is a function of the organizational development.

All employees want to be valuable and remain competitive in the labour market at all times, because
they make some demand for employees in the labour market. This can only be achieved through
employee training and development. Hence employees have a chance to negotiate as well as employer
has a good opportunity to select most suitable person for his vacancy. Employees will always want to
develop career enhancing skills, which will always lead to employee motivation. There is no doubt
that a well trained and developed staff will be a valuable asset to the company and thereby increasing
the chances of his efficiency in discharging his or her duties.
Trainings in an organization can be mainly of two types; Internal and External training sessions.
Internal training involves when training is organized in house by the human resources department or
training department using either a senior staff or any talented staff in the particular department as a
resource person.
On the other hand external training is normally arranged outside the firm and is mostly organized by
training institutes or consultants. Whichever training, it is very important for all staff and helps in
building career positioning and preparing staff for greater challenges in developing world. How ever
the training is costly. Because of that, people who work at firms do not receive external trainings most

In 1915 Rudyard Kipling, a journalist who wrote propaganda during World War I, stated, However the
world pretends to divide itself, there are only two divisions in the world today human beings and
Germans. This proves that Germans were discriminated against during World War I in America
because propaganda and stated opinions used strong negative bias toward the German ethnic group.
Rudyard Kipling was referring to the fact that the U.S. had just declared to be a part of World War I,
and the Germans were the enemy. Just because Germany as a country was viewed as an enemy at this
time meant that Germans all over America had to deal with discrimination, and public statements such
as Kipling s. When a culture is viewed as separate from a human being, it is hard to see the situation

masked men assaulted him, whipped him, threatened to shoot him, besmeared his body with tar and
feathers, and told him to cross the line into South Dakota, and that if he ever returned to Minnesota he
would be hanged. This happened in 1918, just a few months before the first world war ended (Star

How Are Police Justified In Using Deadly Force
Have you ever thought about when police are justified in using force? Almost everyday there are

use of force. The use of force by law enforcement becomes necessary and is permitted by law under
specific circumstances. The International Association of Chiefs of Police has described the use of

Deadly force occurs in less than 1% of the millions of encounters police have with people each year.
In Tennessee v. Garner in 1985, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that an officer CANNOT use deadly
against a fleeing suspect UNLESS the suspect is a significant threat to the officer or to others. Four
years later, the Supreme Court ruled in Graham v. Connor that officers who use force, must be judged
on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be judged
from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of
hindsight, the court said. Dethorne Graham was a diabetic who asked a friend to drop him off at a
store to get some orange juice during one of his blood sugar episodes. Graham saw the long line and
decided to leave the juice behind and left. When an officer saw Graham leave, the officer became
suspicious and pulled him over to investigate. Other officers came and handcuffed Graham, ignoring
his pleas that he was having a diabetic reaction. During the encounter, Graham suffered multiple
injuries. Graham sued, claiming the police used excessive force, but the court decided against him,
claiming Graham s erratic actions justified the officer s initial

Qualitative Research and Data Analysis
2.1.6 Data analysis
In qualitative research, data analysis is a process of making meaning where the researcher has to
actively create meaning out of the raw materials (Esterberg, Kristin G., 2002). The process of making
meaning out of qualitative data is often iterative, meaning that there is a repetitive interplay between
the collection and analysis of data (Bryman and Bell, 2007).
Altogether 5 interviews were conducted with the tour operators in Denmark that are selling travel
packages to Nepal. Firstly, interview was conducted with Kipling travels (31ST March, 2014) and
then interviews were made with Dagama travels (2nd April, 2014), FDM travels (2nd April, 2014),
Albatros travels (24th April, 2014) and lastly C C travels (29th April, 2014). All of the interviews were
conducted on different days except interviews with Dagama travels and FDM travels. The findings
from the first interview were also used to ask questions in the following interviews and there was
constant interplay between the data analysis of the previous interview and the data collection from the
next interview. In this way, information gained from the first interview and the subsequent interviews
were used, to ask questions, in the interviews done later on. Figure 7: Comparison of Qualitative
Analysis Approaches (Thomas, 2006)

Analyzing Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory
Conducting research on social learning is all well and good, but Albert Bandura saw a way to put all
he had learned to work. He recognized that not putting his new found knowledge to use would result
in nothing more than wasted time and research. So, Bandura began a crusade. However, his cause
would not be the only favorable affect Social Learning Theory would inspire. After conducting the
filmed Bobo doll experiment, Bandura noticed how children reacted to violence on a screen. As such,
he made the connection between increased rough behavior in children after watching violent television
shows or playing gory video games. So, he showed his research to the Federal Communications
Commission and television broadcasters. This information moved them to put some restrictions on
how much violence could be aired on television. However, that was back in the 1990 s and today s
society has slacked. Now, it is a common sight to watch children kick, punch, karate chop, clobber,
and attack each other while playing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bandura also noticed that the theory works the other way around, too. After all, when children see
positive behavior they will emulate the good actions just as they would the negative. This part of the
theory benefits Christians in a mighty way. God knew when He created us that we would need
interaction with others. It is because God made people to learn socially and by modeling other s
behaviors that Christians desire to act as Christ like as possible. Another vital implication of Social
Learning Theory is the need for believers to go to church. On their own, a Christian becomes bogged
down and burnt out in the world. Church can reenergize and reignite a Christian. As my Pastor
illustrates it, a single charcoal briquette on the sidewalk will go cold rapidly on its own, but put a
whole mountain of briquettes out and they will be warm and toasty hours

Bourdieu Habitus Concept
Introduction The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu approaches the concept of power using a similar
concept with Foucault which they presume that power is that there are always structures that are
formed by human relationships which dictates how people should behave. These structures influence
the individual social life. However, Foucault criticized that he has concept that is radical and broader
making it difficult to identify any social context of where the action of exercise of power occurs
(Gaventa, 2003). Unlike Bourdieu who narrows down it in terms of symbolically mediated interaction
between the Habitus and social structure (Bourdieu, 1991). Culture is example of this symbolic
interaction. The main aim of the essay is to first define culture. Secondly, define what Habitus is and
explain how it develops through cultural capital. Furthermore, explain how is subject to change.

Case Of Firosa Spolka V Fairbarn (1943)
Contracts are defined as a legally or mutually binding agreement between two or more parties that is
intended to be enforceable by law. Ideally, when a contract is entered into by both parties, there should
be no complications involved throughout the duration of the contract but this is not always the case. A
discharge of contract is when a situation arises that causes the termination of the contract. One of the
manners in which a contract can be discharged is to be discharged by frustration., this can occur if
there is a change in circumstances after the contract has been made which is no fault of either of the
parties involved, which then renders the contract impossible to carry out or deprives the contract of its
commercial purpose. The doctrine of frustration does not apply if the agreed contract contains
provisions dealing with foreseen events that may occur. A contract may be discharged by frustration
only when something occurs after the contract ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay
Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self
knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the
question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia?
Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no
direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all
of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s
rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to
it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her
lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no
longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life
anymore.
In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand
Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet,
think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can
accurately be predicted. Hamlet appears to be the most reputable character to take opinions from in
this instance, because he is not involved in the scandal

become marginalized and therefore begin to lose hope for the future, often turning to lifestyles that
would otherwise be considered to be dysfunctional and self destructive. In terms of the
aforementioned, unbalanced scale, Black America continues to be outweighed in favor for the desires
and wants of the majority, White America. This cycle can best be described by the term nihilism,
which shares similar Latin roots with other English words such as annihilate or null , meaning a
pervasive sense of hopelessness and despair that characterizes many parts of contemporary black
American life (West, 1993). In his writing, Nihilism in Black America, Cornel West argues that
nihilism acts as a disease to black Americans, in that today s disproportionate corporate markets have

  • 2. What Is Charlemagne s Legacy Son of Pepin the Short, King of the Franks from 751 to 768, (Nelson 2018 para 2) Charlemagne was born into a family of success and religion. From 768 to 814, ( Charlemagne Facts Summary HISTORY.com , n.d.) Charlemagne, or Charles I, was a medieval emperor, who ruled much of western Europe. He became King of the Franks, a Germanic tribe that spread throughout present day France, Luxembourg, Belgium, western Germany and the Netherlands, in 771 ( Charlemagne Facts Summary HISTORY.com , n.d.), ultimately changing the face and future of medieval Europe. In order to fully understand and evaluate Charlemagne s impact and legacy, it is necessary to investigate his reign, territorial expansion and his influence on the church. Over the course of Charlemagne s reign as king, his empire and territory extended beyond the initial Frankish kingdom to create a larger unified kingdom. Sometimes referred to as the Father of Europe , Charlemagne spent much of his reign attempting to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acting as a zealous guardian of Christianity, Charlemagne donated riches and property to the church and defended the popes. He used military force and punishment in an attempt to make all of his subjects convert to Christianity. In 800 ( Life of Charlemagne | Christian History Institute , n.d.), Charlemagne was crowned as emperor of the Romans, legitimising his rule and influence on the Church. He toiled to unite and reform the Church. Desiring to broaden the spread of Christianity within his rule, he dispatched armies to vanquish surrounding lands and obligated citizens to convert. The Holy Roman Empire transfigured the Church by combining and conquering the beliefs of millions of people. Charlemagne worked in conjunction with many other Christian countries in order to spread his words and message beyond Europe. • 3. Empty Nest Syndrome Theme ESSAY: EMPTY NEST SYNDROME It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings. Ann Lander. Empty nest syndrome is a psychological condition faced by most of the parents after a certain point of time in their lives when their children leave them for their higher education, marriage. This condition is most common in mothers since they are the ones who have spent almost eighteen to nineteen years of their life with their children growing them from toddlers to teen. Hasan Manzar s The Cactus is a very well written story throws the light upon the universal experience which the whole world is facing from the past thousands of decades. The story brings out the life of an old couple. A family of three daughters, two sons, and seven grandchildren, couple living in huge well nestled house and the irony is that in this mammoth house there was no one living except the old sensitive couple. Sensitive here refers to the scene where they have created a hole in the eave allowing the cactus to grow. Also we can interpret cactus as the old couple s children who are not restricted by the boundaries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While cactuses are usually appealing with their bright green colours, they are covered with sharp thorns, bury them in the skin if touched. This could be compared to the love held by the old couple for their children; painful to bear with it. Old couple doesn t seem interested in selling the house this can be justified in two ways, firstly polished rubber plants and well groomed house indicates that there whole time is diverted to these works and secondly may be they don t want their old memories in the house to be removed that s why the house is well ... • 4. Interplay Of Conflict And Deception In Interpersonal... Two parts of interpersonal communication go hand in hand are conflict and deception. One can lead to the other and vice versa. Most people try to avoid both conflict and deception, but people must realize that they have benefits and are a reality in everyday interactions. The interplay of conflict and deception specifically harnessed my attention over the past few chapters. Interpersonal conflict is an expressed struggle between two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from the other party in achieving their goals (Floyd, 2011, p. 350). To fully understand conflict, the definition can be broken down further. As Kory Floyd (2011) describes, conflict is an expressed struggle. A conflict is not fully present until one party s feelings are aware to the other party. This can be done through both verbal and nonverbal behaviors. Conflict occurs between interdependent parties as Floyd (2011) explains. A disagreement becomes a conflict if both parties depend on each other in some way. For example, the relationship between a child and their parents is a relationship that has high interdependence. If there is no dependence between the two parties, Floyd (2011) does not consider it interpersonal conflict, which I personally found interesting. The self to the characters in this novel is shadowed in the name of searching destiny and pursuing dream. The study of self is not an easy task. The self concept is discussed below on the basis of some references and the novel, The Alchemist. The question may be raised: is the self a fact in Coelho s The Alchemist? Coelho has used the individual or self of the characters as the umbra and created penumbra around it to give concrete form in the novel. But, this might be refuted in terms that the individual loses his/her identity when being manipulated by external agent. What might be the external agent or force if ... While this point of view strongly supports that will has a stronger hold on one s destiny, later events, such as Santiago and the alchemist being caught by warring tribes, demonstrate fate s hold on one s life. How Does Ionic Boding Affect Melting And Boiling Point Report on structure and bonding and how it effects the melting and boiling point across period 3 Covalent bonding is a bond where two or more atoms share electrons. The atom is unstable on its own and is not willing to give and electron away, therefore they share, which makes them stable. This can also be described are the molecules being held together by a strong covalent bond. An example of this would be Hydrogen, on its own it is unstable, so it shares its only electron with another, giving it a strong covalent bond. Hydrogen only has one electron, but requires two for its outer shell, unable to give one away, they share. H + H = H2 Ionic boding is when an atom gives another electron to another to form an ionic bond. One atom will donate an electron to another to fill its outer shell, that is held together by Electrostatic attraction. These bonds involve Cations, which are positive Ions that are mostly metals and Anions which are negative Ions that are mostly non metals. An example of this would be Sodium and Chlorine. Sodium has one electron on its outer shell, Chlorine has seven electrons on its outer shell. Chlorine needs eight electrons on its outer shell to make it stable. The shortness of the sentence, She stood up acts as a sudden pause in the story, as though this abrupt action has frozen time. In the next few lines, Bolland uses a miserable tone to reflect on the mother s mood. Bolland also uses pathetic fallacy to reflect on the emotions of the mother, stating that the distance smelled of rain and lightning. The distance that is mentioned here may symbolize how distant she and her lover is now. At this point, the readers would feel a sense of pathos towards this character. Hence, the third stanza is a transitioning phase between her presence of the current situation and her stream of consciousness. In 1793, Sake Dean Mahomed wrote conceivably the first book by an Indian in English, called The Travels of Dean Mahomed . However, most early Indian writing in English was non fictional work, such as biographies and political essays. This began to change in the late 1800s, when famous Indian authors who wrote mostly in their mother tongue, began to try their hand at writing in English. If the workers do not manage what they are doing correctly, it can have harmful impacts on not only their health but the communities and the environment. At times enforcing the laws and good practice can be expensive and very disruptive. The legislation includes things like Identifying activities that create pollution, Environmental risk assessment, selecting low emission materials and getting the right training and using the proper methods. But what is classified as particulates and what are they? They can be very broad but things such as Dust and asbestos from knocking buildings down that can float away causing harm to the environment, and people s health, motor vehicle emissions and smoke from power tools also can have a significant impact. There are many ways in which emissions can be controlled including things such as Demolition workers can Water down the building as they are knocking it down to weigh down the particulates. Using the water to weigh down particualtes can be harmfull, as if the workers use to much water to weigh down this particualtes it can cause run off. This run off can end up in the river sytems and throw this way the particualtes can polute and cause harm to the enviroment and the animals in th eater. Workers can also time it to the wind, i.e. on windy days don t do work that will cause a lot of particulates to float around. They can even be aware of the environment in which they are working in and know the restrictions and the history s (mainly for older homes) of other houses to get a broader idea if the particulates cause more harm than a newer house might. For things such as Sanding, grinding and welding the workers can also use water to weigh down the particulates or use a type of grad method to trap the particulates. This proves that Germans were discriminated against during World War I in America because propaganda and stated opinions used strong negative bias toward the German ethnic group. Rudyard Kipling was referring to the fact that the U.S. had just declared to be a part of World War I, and the Germans were the enemy. Just because Germany as a country was viewed as an enemy at this time meant that Germans all over America had to deal with discrimination, and public statements such as Kipling s. Four years later, the Supreme Court ruled in Graham v. Connor that officers who use force, must be judged on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight, the court said. • 27. Qualitative Research and Data Analysis 2.1.6 Data analysis In qualitative research, data analysis is a process of making meaning where the researcher has to actively create meaning out of the raw materials (Esterberg, Kristin G., 2002). The process of making meaning out of qualitative data is often iterative, meaning that there is a repetitive interplay between the collection and analysis of data (Bryman and Bell, 2007). Altogether 5 interviews were conducted with the tour operators in Denmark that are selling travel packages to Nepal. Firstly, interview was conducted with Kipling travels (31ST March, 2014) and then interviews were made with Dagama travels (2nd April, 2014), FDM travels (2nd April, 2014), Albatros travels (24th April, 2014) and lastly C C travels (29th April, 2014). All of the interviews were conducted on different days except interviews with Dagama travels and FDM travels. The findings from the first interview were also used to ask questions in the following interviews and there was constant interplay between the data analysis of the previous interview and the data collection from the next interview. In this way, information gained from the first interview and the subsequent interviews were used, to ask questions, in the interviews done later on. He recognized that not putting his new found knowledge to use would result in nothing more than wasted time and research. So, Bandura began a crusade. However, his cause would not be the only favorable affect Social Learning Theory would inspire. After conducting the filmed Bobo doll experiment, Bandura noticed how children reacted to violence on a screen. As such, he made the connection between increased rough behavior in children after watching violent television shows or playing gory video games. So, he showed his research to the Federal Communications Commission and television broadcasters. This information moved them to put some restrictions on how much violence could be aired on television. However, that was back in the 1990 s and today s society has slacked. Now, it is a common sight to watch children kick, punch, karate chop, clobber, and attack each other while playing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bandura also noticed that the theory works the other way around, too. After all, when children see positive behavior they will emulate the good actions just as they would the negative. This part of the theory benefits Christians in a mighty way. God knew when He created us that we would need interaction with others. It is because God made people to learn socially and by modeling other s behaviors that Christians desire to act as Christ like as possible. Another vital implication of Social Learning Theory is the need for believers to go to church. On their own, a Christian becomes bogged down and burnt out in the world. Church can reenergize and reignite a Christian. Bourdieu Habitus Concept Introduction The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu approaches the concept of power using a similar concept with Foucault which they presume that power is that there are always structures that are formed by human relationships which dictates how people should behave. These structures influence the individual social life. However, Foucault criticized that he has concept that is radical and broader making it difficult to identify any social context of where the action of exercise of power occurs (Gaventa, 2003). A discharge of contract is when a situation arises that causes the termination of the contract. One of the manners in which a contract can be discharged is to be discharged by frustration., this can occur if there is a change in circumstances after the contract has been made which is no fault of either of the parties involved, which then renders the contract impossible to carry out or deprives the contract of its commercial purpose. • 35. Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia? Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life anymore. In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet, think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can accurately be predicted. • 40. Relationship Between The United States And Black America The relationship between the United States and Black America can best be compared to an unbalanced scale. Some would argue that the majority take regular advantage of the minority, creating a distinct schism between the two groups. The actions taken by each group adversely shape the behavior of one another. While the oppressed lash out because of the unfair conditions of society, the oppressors continue to dish out what they consider to be the appropriate punishment. The oppressed continue to become marginalized and therefore begin to lose hope for the future, often turning to lifestyles that would otherwise be considered to be dysfunctional and self destructive. In terms of the aforementioned, unbalanced scale, Black America continues to be outweighed in favor for the desires and wants of the majority, White America. This cycle can best be described by the term nihilism, which shares similar Latin roots with other English words such as annihilate or null , meaning a pervasive sense of hopelessness and despair that characterizes many parts of contemporary black American life (West, 1993). In his writing, Nihilism in Black America, Cornel West argues that nihilism acts as a disease to black Americans, in that today s disproportionate corporate markets have led black Americans to live pleasure filled lives; neglecting values of love, care, and service once handed down by generation s past (West,1993).
