The Constitutional Principle Of The Rule Of Law
INTRODUCTION Undoubtedly, the constitutional principle of the rule of law is one of the most
essential values in the English legal system. It has aptly been characterized as a wrapper that is placed
around a bundle of more specific principles . Interestingly, prominent personalities like inter alia, Lord
Bingham, Jeffrey Jowell and Dicey, have identified that legality, certainty, accountability, efficiency,
due process and access to justice are only a number of those specific principles which all together
constitute the rule of law. Some of these values reflect the formal conception of the rule of law while
others, the substantive. Furthermore, it would be an omission not to say that, within the absence of a
written constitution, the rule of law places a significant role within the English legal system. The
following essay will assess how the courts use the weapons of justice, to restrain and scrutinize the
abuse of the executive power in the UK. The role of the judicial review process and the principles of:
bare principle of legality and principle of legal certainty will be examined by reference to academic
opinion and case law. The conclusion will be that, although the dogma of the rule of law managed to
hold the executive up to a satisfying level, the principle of parliamentary sovereignty does have the
final say. Rule of Law To begin with, the constitutional principle of the rule of law can be as simple as
a set of theories about what the

The Negative Consequences Of Gun Control
In this research, the perception of the Second Amendment is discussed bearing in consideration of
some consequences of the misuse of firearms by individuals who are not military. This essay develops
one of the disturbing targets, which it is the amount of weapons that civilians are allowed without any
limitation, and how backgrounds check are handled. And because of no restriction, how an object that
was created to defense became the originator of sadness and division in the humanity. Also, the
influence of the National Rifle Association for the business is discussed and the revenue that comes
from gun industry. The proposal that democrat candidate Hilary Clinton made on the issue, expressing
her intention of limiting the regulations of selling guns.
Weapons in the wrong hands protected by The Second Amendment
Humanity has evolved since its creation and self defense has evolved too. Hundreds of years ago man
had to defend his life to the multiple threats that existed and still exist today; therefore, weapons were
created to strengthen their defense. One of the disputed points is if the average citizen should own a
weapon for personal use, because of the extensive number of deaths in our communities caused by our
neighbor. In the United States the constitution gives the right to citizens to ... Show more content on

Language In Rabbit Proof Fence
Rabbit Proof Fence is a movie directed by Phillip Noyce based on the novel by Doris Pilkington
Garimara. In the excerpt, The Stealing of Children, it shows the offspring of the indigenous people
being taken away from their parents as the white settlers thought they weren t being treated properly.
Events like these occurred from 1910 1970 in Australia s history. Many aboriginal children didn t want
to be taken away and the fictional story, based on real events, of Rabbit Proof Fence has been created
from the point of view of those people living at this time. The director has created many
representations of Aboriginal people through the use of language features, visual elements and the
audio components.
The language features of The Stealing of Children give many representations of the indigenous
people. One of these devices is repetition. Once the aboriginals were trapped by Constable Riggs,
Maude repeatedly shouted the word, No! . While he took the children, she continued to state that they
were hers and she didn t like him taking them. Her repetitiveness gave the impression that she didn t
want to lose her kids and that she loved them. This also gave the impression that Maude had no
authority against Riggs. Another language element featured in the film is evocative vocabulary. It was
used among the shouts of the indigenous people and the police man. When the Grandmother came to
the car with a large stick, which she may have used to try and break the car windows,

Being Too Brilliant Is Dangerous
Sometimes being too brilliant is dangerous. Herman Mudgett lived a normal childhood, for the most
part, but he also did things your average child wouldn t do. He had an impressive college education,
although it lead to him committing insurance fraud and the stealing of corpses. After moving to
Chicago, he continued the fraud and began the homicides. He had many girlfriends and wives, women
tended to fall for his charm, which lead to their death. Henry H. Holmes did terrible things, from
tricking people to killing them, but the intelligence behind his actions is what kept him from getting
caught for so many years. Herman Webster Mudgett was born on May 16, 1861 in Gilmanton, New
Hampshire. As a child, Herman was bullied, at one point being forced to touch a skeleton in a doctor s
office (hhholmes.weebly.com). Herman was very intelligent from a young age. He began to dissect
both living and dead animals. After graduating high school, Herman went to the University of
Vermont to study medicine. He then transferred to the University of Michigan, because he was
interested in their human dissection program. Holmes and his friend Benjamin Pitizel conducted a
plan to collect insurance money from fake family members. Holmes stole bodies from his medical
school. He was accused by the school of stealing bodies, but there was no solid evidence against the
accusation (History.com). When he finished medical school he went to New York to be a doctor s
apprentice. He was presented

The EEOC s role in this lawsuit.
EEOC s role in this case was to file lawsuit against the employer (Exel) on behalf of the employee
Contrice Travis and to protect the rights of this employee and the interests of the public.
Whether or not this lawsuit promotes social change; justify your reasoning.
This verdict is a blow against sex discrimination and reaffirms that women should be allowed the full
opportunity to advance in an organization based on merit, EEOC General Counsel David Lopez said
after the jury rendered its verdict. If all discrimination cases gets the headline and attention, it will
promote social changes but not all cases are heard (reported) or brought to surface (lawsuit filed). We
have to do our best to educate and promote equal rights to all people and understand that
discrimination of any kind is not healthy to society.

Trophic Interactions Of Animals Essay
2. Describe 2 trophic interactions of an organism from the area studied.
An example of a trophic interaction includes parasitism, which is a relationship that involves a
harmful organism living on another organism, and is presented by the galls ( plant tumours ) on the
Grey Mangrove. The formation of a gall is initiated when an insect feeds on a plant or dominates the
tissue of a plant and lays eggs there. The eggs will grow within the leaves, which they will eventually
devour. These abnormal growths of plant tissue are a response to irritation or harm of the plant and it
may slow down the photosynthesis process and may make the Grey Mangrove die.
Another example includes mutualism, where both species benefit from the relationship. Mutualism ...

Adaptations of the Sydney mud whelk:
Mud whelks have a big muscular foot which is mandatory for holding their prey captive and also
enables them to move through and attach itself to surfaces and survive the mudflat sediment which
consists of sand, silt, mud and organic matter.
They have a strong, hard shell to protect them from predators, and their shell also does not allow
moisture to seep in. Its shell also reduces water loss from evaporation. Camouflage is also possible
due to their lightly coloured spiral

Psych Analysis
The introductory paragraphs are pictured as an upside down triangle, which start out with a broad
statement and narrow down to a point. Whereas a middle paragraph is more like a block, it starts out
with a broad statement but elaborates instead of narrowing down.
The main purpose is to explain the points in your thesis by not confusing the reader. Paragraphing
keeps each point separated so that one big block of explaining does not bore your reader, it also helps
the writer explain his point.
Writing big paragraphs helps the writer explore writing on their own, it makes them think and learn to
control the details, unimportant sentences, etc.
An essay has an intro, a middle, and conclusion. A paragraph is exactly like that, the only difference ...

A more visible example of rules changing to meet the cultural needs of a society is one that we see in
our everyday lives while watching professional baseball or MLB. The Major League Baseball is
divided into two leagues which are the National league and the American League. The American
League has a designated hitter while the National League does not allow designated hitters within
their rules. Rules do not conflict when teams of their respected leagues play against each other but
when a team from the National League has to play against a team from the American League, rules
conflict. Teams must now play according to home field rules. That means if the American League
team happens to be the home team, rules apply for the allowance of a designated hitter. Back in the
schoolyard, basketball rules are arbitrary all the time. Rules are less strict in the schoolyard compared
to rules in the NBA or in college basketball. Players also cut some slack on less talented players who
may constantly commit travels or double dribbles . Sports don t exist in a cultural vacuum but the
world of sports is very much like the world of masculinity. During the course we watched a video of
Killing Us Softly , which has to do with the study of gender representation in advertising. It reviews if
and how the image of women in advertising has changed over the last 20 years. With

Creating A Legal Taxonomy Of Privacy
Differentiating Meanings of Privacy Invasion of privacy did not exist as a separate tort prior to the
20th century. In 1960, William Prosser described how privacy came to be established in tort law and
how many distinct torts fit within it, including torts for intrusion, public disclosure of private facts,
and placing a person in a false light. Daniel Solove builds off of Prosser s work, constructing a legal
taxonomy of privacy focused on information collection, information processing, information
dissemination, and intrusion. As this thesis aims to gain insight into how privacy has evolved
conceptually within the American court system, and particularly the Supreme Court, I aim to identify
conceptual divisions of privacy in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ruling stands in stark contrast to the Court s decision in 1914 in Weeks v. United States, which is
largely considered a landmark case as the Court s unanimous decision resulted in the establishment of
the exclusionary rule prohibiting the submission of evidence to court which was obtained illegally (i.e.
in violation of the Fourth Amendment by being unreasonably seized without a warrant). In his dissent
in Olmstead, Brandeis made an eloquent argument that the Fourth Amendment remains applicable in
the case, as individuals should have a reasonable expectation of privacy in their conversations (which,
in this instance, had been wiretapped by law enforcement officials targeting bootleggers violating the
National Prohibition Act). Brandeis wrote: The makers of our Constitution undertook to secure
conditions favorable to the pursuit of happiness. They recognized the significance of man s spiritual
nature, of his feelings and of his intellect. They knew that only a part of the pain, pleasure, and
satisfactions of life are to be found in material things. They sought to protect Americans in their
beliefs, their thoughts, their emotions and their sensations. They conferred, as against the government,
the right to be let alone the most comprehensive of rights and the right most valued by civilized men.

Essay about Good Will Hunting Character Analysis
Introduction Social Cognitive theory believes that humans are individuals who are capable of
proactively making things happen to assist in their own development (Parajes, 2002). In Good Will
Hunting, Will Hunting did not believe that he was able to make a positive change in his life. Will is a
prodigy, particularly in mathematics, who did not recognize his gift. He was born and raised in the
slums, where he is now comfortable. He was abandoned by his parents and in and out of numerous
foster homes. He experienced abuse and neglect in these homes. He was not only physically abused
but also mentally and psychologically. His ability to solve complicated mathematical equations caught

Will sees himself as a southie , a loser. To maintain congruence between his self view and his
experiences his acts out. He starts fights and stays in trouble. He doesn t seek anything better for
himself. In Rogers theory an individual strives for self actualization. Will is brilliant and has
knowledge about many topics. He reads a lot to keep himself knowledgeable. He answers difficult
math problems that are put on a board at MIT, where he works as a janitor. In trying to maintain
congruence between his self view and his experiences he does not trust anyone. When someone tries
to get close and help him he denies needing help. Will is defensive towards everyone he comes in
contact with. He experiences incongruence with his cockiness of being smarter than most but he doesn
t feel he deserves better than living as a nobody. Will s ability to push all his therapists and his
girlfriend away shows his defensiveness. He keeps this tough boy attitude to make others not want to
care about him because no one ever has. Rogers pathology includes defensive maintenance of self
(Pervin et al., 2005). Will s therapist was concerned about Will and took an active role in
understanding the experiences of the client (Pervin et al, p. 198, 2005). This therapy is called Client
Centered Therapy. The therapist doesn t try to change Will but accepts him as he is. Will eventually
changes by embracing his new found relationship with his girlfriend and realizes his potential.

The Dinosaurs Of The Mesozoic Era
A traditional archeological dig, facilitated by new technological advancements uncovers raptor fossils
by a team of researchers. This is how the movie Jurassic park begins. It shows almost a foreshadowing
of the events to come as the doctor looking at the technology shows weariness to the usage of the
machine to do the work they could have done by hand. Likewise, the Jurassic Park movie tells a story
of an increased scientific presence in the scientific study of the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era. Due to
the ardent work of dinosaur researchers, dinosaurs are brought back to life for the purpose of
education and entertainment. With this financier and developer of the program, Jeff Hammond brings
together a team of scientists, a lawyer and two of his grandchildren on an adventure to experience the
park first hand. However, due to a series of unfortunate events the parks loses functionality resulting
in their team having to physical experience survival during the time of the dinosaur. While half of the
team fights to stay alive the developer his group of survivors must find a way to rescue the visitors and
get back in control of the park. I found the movie to be more entertaining than educational. It was
more for the purposes of telling a story, which I believe was about the power that genetics has brought
humans. The story seems to warn against going too far with the use of genetic information. This, in my
opinion, is greatly exemplified by one of the last scenes in the movie.

School Reflection
The week of October16th through October 20th was pretty busy. I had three ARD meetings this week
but none of them depicted any issues. All the parents were very complimentary of the teachers and
their assistance in providing their children with the necessary tools to be academically successfully.
We had our school homecoming on Monday so I was busy assisting the committee on preparation for
the evening event. All eight grade teachers are required to be a part of this committee so that includes
me. I enjoy events like this because when you participate the students (most) appreciate your hard
work and seeing you there at their special event. After school on Monday, October 16th I assisted the
band director, cheerleading coach, and football coach in lining up the students outside so we could
have a couple run through practices on how the evening would transpire. It was nice seeing all the
students and faculty coming together to coordinate and plan such a memorable event. As usual, on
Tuesday and Thursday of this week I went to Alexander High School immediately after finishing at
Trautmann (whew!). We continued working with the students whose STAAR, benchmark, and CBA
scores were low last year so that we can bring them up to par. We have been mainly focusing on
seniors, special education, and ELL students so that we can continue documenting procedural
safeguards on these students. So far, the numbers have been slowly increasing as we continue calling

Irony of War Exposed in Dulce et Decorum, Regeneration, and Quiet on the Western Front
Many of the young officers who fought in the Great War enlisted in the army with glowing
enthusiasm, believing that war was played in fancy uniforms with shiny swords. They considered war
as a noble task, an exuberant journey filled with honor and glory. Yet, after a short period on the front,
they discovered that they had been disillusioned by the war: fighting earned them nothing but

The fact that ecstasy is used with fumbling is surprising and disturbing but suggests the difference

Cognitive Vs Exercise
Research shows that integrating exercise or meditation in one s life can result in tremendous benefits
both physically and mentally, including improving one s cognitive abilities. Cognition can be defined
as the capacity to perceive, retain, and apply information that has been learned through experience or
observation (Michelon, 2006). It entails aspects such as memory, perception, visual and spatial
processing, attention, motor skills, language, and executive function (Michelon, 2006). Meditation and
exercise can boost an individual s blood hormone levels, which can improve memory, and decrease
one s risk of developing dementia (Bergland, 2014). Learning can also be positively affected as
physical exercise maximizes the mind s capacity to take in information, particularly by increasing the

it helps spread oxygen and nutrients to different areas in the body more efficiently and improve blood
circulation. As one gets older, exercise and meditation can also help reduce the risks of disabilities and
chronic conditions such as obesity and cystic fibrosis Warner (2006). Although exercise and

even though the narrator is beginning to be a little more comfortable with Robert he still cannot open
his mind up enough to be able to fully describe the cathedrals to him. He says, The truth is, cathedrals

Importance Of English Language
3.1 Introduction
English is a language which can be traced back to the 5th century by migration and resettlement of its
speakers into the different parts of the world. Beginning its foundation of the American colonies into
Europe and into the 17th century with its establishment of the East India Company (Paranjpe Prasad,
2010). The 200 years of presence that English had in India left a huge impression on its language
orientation. Both attitudinally and linguistically English has made its place into the new cultural
environment and fresh communicative needs. Despite the government s support towards Hindi, the
language inculcating the largest number of speakers under it compared to the other Indian Languages
has not yet been able to take up the prestige that English holds in India. India s larger population is
bilingual with proficiency in English. Today it has earned the privilege as the language of the world s
developed countries, their technologies and economy (Paranjpe Prasad, 2010). It is the very reason
that this language has caught the attention of the future generations irrespective of their home country

All Quiet On The Western Front Summer Analysis
Summer Analysis Essay Society s institutions are needed in the world to keep order, peace, and
organization; however, these institutions can also have the opposite effect on many people. Often, the
institutions of society may be used as a reason to behave immorally or to justify this immoral
behavior. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and All Quiet on the
Western Front, the protagonists all struggle with these institutions and with forming their own moral
code, whether bad or good. In all three novels, society s institutions corrupt and destroy individuals,
and the only ones who are safe from this corruption are the people who have escaped or diverged from
society. These novels mirror the authors societies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would go to work and steal Jim out of slavery, Huck shares, showing that he would be willing to risk
his life and reputation to free his friend, Jim (Twain 195). Instead of this institution creating kind,
caring, compassionate learners and leaders, the educational institution instills primitive, old world
values into its students in the South. However, because Huck escaped this formal Southern education,
he has good morals. Southern society considers Huck an uneducated, ignorant boy, but it is he who
possesses far more knowledge and compassion than any educated person of the South, showing the
hypocrisy of the society in which he lives. Huck relates, It was kind of lazy and jolly, laying off
comfortable all day, smoking and fishing, and no books nor study, while he is living out in nature with
his Pap (Twain 25). He does not enjoy a formal education of books and work, but can still appreciate
the beauty and curiosities of the world, in nature and its people. Huck is able to see past the barriers
society puts up, as he did not receive a Southern education, which creates people who support slavery
and do not think for themselves. The educational institution is like a factory, pumping out identical
children all believing in old world Southern values. Huck escapes from this prison and only then does

Personal Essay On Mass Who s Comming To Diner
Honestly, in regard with my feelings from watching it, I don t have much to say about GUESS WHO
S COMING TO DINNER? , because the main message the director: Stanley Kramer, script writer:
William Rose and actors: Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, and Katharine Hepburn, and features
Hepburn s niece Katharine Houghton are trying to convey; (the racism and interracial marriage in the
USA) are truly distant to me personally. In my country of origin and furthermore, in our national

Education Reform
Throughout history, reforms look differently based on the motivations of the reformers ( Education
Reform, n.d.). Educational reform consists of changes that are made in public education ( Education
Reform, n.d.). Education reform involves any and all changes in the way a school or school district
functions, from teaching methods and any administrative processes. Educational reform is used as an
ancillary for needed economic changes in the United States ( Education Reform, n.d.). Education
reformers want to have curriculum standards tied to test scores ( Education Reform, n.d.). Many
reformers have focused on changing society by reforming education on more humanistic, scientific,
and even democratic philosophies ( Education Reform, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the funding is not available then the reform becomes a burden as opposed to an aid (Chen, 2015).
The National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) estimated that the program would
cost $7 billion dollars over a seven year period in order for all states to develop and implement the
testing programs outlined in the NCLB Act (Chen, 2015). However, the NCLB budget only authorized
$400 million dollars to go towards helping the states design and implement the tests which meant the
schools would be responsible for more than $6 billion dollars (Chen, 2015). A second disadvantage is
that schools began to focus on reading and math (Chen, 2015). Students were not provided with a well
rounded education (Chen, 2015). Some schools cut back on science and art in order to focus on
English and math (Chen, 2015). Some teachers voiced that education is not really improving (Chen,
2015). They believe that other subjects were sacrificed in order for schools to have proficiency in the
subject areas that were being tested (Chen, 2015).
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was the largest showing of irresponsibility from policymakers
(Rothstein, 2008). The implementation of NCLB narrowed the curriculum and has caused more harm
than good to the student population (Rothstein, 2008). Since the implementation of NCLB school
systems have focused on reading and math, while neglecting art,

INTRODUCTION
Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) is a fluorescent protein found in jellyfish that causes organisms to
fluoresce. This protein was the first fluorescent protein to be discovered and has been highly useful in
a broad range of cell biology disciplines; because of it s highly useful reporter genes and the ability to
use multicolor protein tracking in living cells it has been useful in many scientific experiments such as
E. Coli transformations. There have been many other fluorescent proteins that have been cloned from
a wide variety of marine invertebrates, therefore making GFP not the only standing fluorescent protein
present. (Shaner 2014). The scientific uses of GFP have included ... Show more content on

I Loved The National Geographic And Discovery Channels And...
I always loved learning, I loved the national geographic and discovery channels and reading articles,
but I hated school with a passion. I despised getting up and in kindergarden I actually stabbed my
mom in the hand with a pencil in protest of writing my letters. I believe that s when a lot of things
clicked, at least on my moms end. A lot of parents would have forced their kids to do well in school
mine, never did. I couldn t thank them enough for it. Elementary school was miserable for me, not a
lot of friends and I was no teachers pet. I showed little to no interest in what my teachers had to say.
From kindergarten to sixth grade my teachers told my mom I wouldn t make it. Not in middle school,
and high school, probably shouldn t count on that either. Year after year my mom took this verbal
beating from my teachers saying she should be doing more , there s something wrong with me all my
teachers suggested my mom get me tested for ADD and ADHD my mom put it off until fourth grade
when I got written up for writing I hate school and I hate my teacher. she took me in to get tested but
to everyone s surprise I did not have ADD or ADHD. So my mom took my to a psychologist to figure
out why I was so against school. In a short amount of time the psychologist told my mom that no
matter how hard anyone tried they could not force me to pay attention or do the work, and that, that
was okay, as long as I understood and accepted the consequences. From then on All my mom

a poor outcome compared to its counterparts(Squires Anderson, 2015). Although their health care

well developed nations around the world (Squires Anderson, 2015). In the U.S, patient s visits to

Steamboat Ski amp; Resort Corporation (SSRC)
Charlie Mayfield, Vice President of Marketing, has some important decisions to make in order to
shape the future of SSRC. His marketing team is strong and has always thought of innovative ideas
which make it a company of trend setters rather than followers. The declining trend in the sales of his
company is an indication that something must be done, the premier status of his ski resort is being lost
especially now that customer feedback on returning to the resort has dropped to an all time low.
KIC, their owners expect the company be the number 1 in the industry with a specific focus on
customer service and quality. Their recent feedback and lodging problems stated by Vern Greco,
president of SSRC make it clear that they are no way on the path to being number one, but possibly
losing their existing market share which they have successfully built over the years. As I mentioned

Public Opinion Poll
Public Opinion Poll In A Glimpse
Gallup Poll is an organization that conducts public opinion polling in a regular basis throughout one
hundred and forty countries around the world. It has a reputation of being the most trustworthy and
accurate in depicting the public opinions on various kinds of issues. It is also best known for the
accuracy in predicting the United States presidential elections results.
In conducting a public opinion poll, the first and foremost important concept is the basic principle of
probability sampling, or at least that is what Gallup values as an important foundation. The probability
sampling itself holds the definition as a sampling technique wherein the samples are gathered in a
process that gives all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of this technique is to compare the impact of different wordings and sometimes to report
the results of both wordings. All in all, it allows people to have greater understanding of the impact of
nuances in ways of addressing key issues (Newton 1 3).
After getting deeper understanding on how public opinion polls work, let us take an example of a
recent poll from gallup.com with the title of U.S. Perceptions of Job Market Remain Weak but
Improved . From the perspective of how the poll conducted and the method used, this poll is based on
telephone interviews conducted in a time frame of June 7 to June 10, 2012 with a random sample of
1,004 adults, aged 18 and older, in United States. It is also specified that the results are based on the
total sample of national adults, with ninety five percent confidence that the maximum margin of
sampling error is approximately four percentage points. The sample is randomly selected by
considering the gender, age, race, Hispanic ethnicity, education, region, adults in the household, and
phone status. The phone numbers are of course chosen by random while putting the demographic
characteristics into consideration. This confirms the principle of probability sampling where every
individual is guaranteed to have an equal opportunity of being selected by using the randomization
technique. The random sample is also obtained through the process of identifying the target population
through a set of characteristics

Disagreements During Ww1
From who stole the cookie from the cookie jar to who started World War I, disagreements immensely
affect the lives of everyone no matter what the topic deals with. Certainly, every war is caused by
disagreements throughout countries including World War II and the Civil war that resulted after World
War I. Arguments begin because people want their way. This even includes specific tribes and
nationalities in the world wanting their rights and own ways of life. Countries need to stand up for
their rights and ways of life just like people individually, which usually leads to disagreements
because everyone wants something different. Conflict arises between regions for a great amount of
reasons. Because of conflict involving unbalanced power is Europe, World War I was created. Tension

For example, the Al Qaeda terrorist group represents itself extremely patriotic. They stand for what

reason that they have their own separate beliefs from other countries. Because they represent
themselves with different beliefs, they cause a great deal of conflict between the countries of the world
much like how World War I was started. Al Qaeda is also merely powerful in behalf of their
population and weaponry which scares a load of people in the world. Citizens, much like in World
War I, fill with fear of this overpowering control. Despite the fact they come from a different time era,
Al Qaeda and European countries from the war share a ton of similarities. Because of overpowering
military, decreased freedom, and overbearing nationalism between any countries, little arguments

Dinosaur is created. When imagining a dinosaur, do thoughts of a large Tyrannosaurus Rex, a swift

amiable brightly colored friends in cartoons or the fearsome bloodthirsty experiments in movies?

Sexual dimorphism is the physical differences between males and females of the same species.
(Example: color, size, shape, etc.) The Dilophosaurus were described as 10 feet tall and spotted with
black and yellow. The underbellies were bright green and the crests were red and black striped and
formed a V shape. At the scene in the book, Dr. Grant, Lex, and Tim were floating down river and two
Dilophosaurus stood at the river bank up ahead. Dr. grant realized that the two Dilophosaurus were
performing a mating ritual (Which contradicts what was stated in the book earlier since the
Dilophosaurus was not a breed that contained frog DNA and so the Dilophosaurus can t have changed
genders to mate.) when he noticed some sexual dimorphism. One of the Dilophosaurus was described
as smaller in size . The spots were smaller and the crest was duller as well. Standing on the riverbank
were two dilophosaurs. The ten foot tall bodies were spotted yellow and black. Underneath, the bellies
were bright green, like lizards. Twin red curving crests ran along the top of the head from the eyes to
the nose, making a V shape above the head...Grant noticed that the animal on the right was smaller,
with smaller spots on its back, and its crest was a duller red I ll be damned, he said. It s a mating ritual.
(Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park 1990, Google Pdf page 122) There is no evidence to support sexual

Film Analysis, the Last Castle Essay
In the film, The Last Castle, I found many aspects and theories that involve organizational
communication throughout the movie. The film is about a US prison where the prisoners have
formally served in the military and have committed crimes while serving their time. The movie shows
how the prisoners come together when a former well respected general is sent there to overpower the
man that runs the facility. The first theory and probably the most noted theory is the Adaptive
Structuration Theory of Marshall Scott Poole. Poole s theory states, Members in groups are creating
the group as they act within it A lot of times people in groups build up structures or arrangements
that are very uncomfortable for them, but they don t realize that ... Show more content on

The next step of the model is conflict, in which factions disagree on how to approach the problem and
argue against other viewpoints, and members justify their own position. An example of this is when
Aguilar, the stuttering marine, wants to help build the wall the inmates were building. One other
inmate ridicules him and tells him he is doing it all wrong, but Aguilar s father is a mason and has
taught him the correct way to brick a wall. He stands strong and when the group begins to form he is
made the head mason when they rebuild the wall under Irwin s orders. Another example would be
when Aguilar gets in trouble in the beginning of the movie for saluting the General and is punished by
standing out in the rain. When General Irwin tells him he doesn t have to continue out his punishment
he is then punished by Col. Winters for trying to go over what he said even though it was pointed out
that the punishment was illegal.
The third step of the phase model is coalescence, where tensions are reduced through peaceful
negotiation, and members allow others to save face by adopting solutions acceptable to all. An
example is when Thumper and the other guy are fighting in the yards and the sirens start to go off.
Thumper refuses to drop down and the consequence was him getting shot with the rubber bullet gun.
When the group starts to form they all want to be a part of it and when the final solution was adopted
the enemies became friends like Thumper and the

Essay On Hurricane Katrina
Abstract The observations of Hurricane Katrina are examined by several data assimilations and
forecast experiments from the Geostationary Operational Environment Satellite (GOES) rapid scan
(RS) wind observations. The satellites tracks cloud motions from a five minute images and intervals.
During the observations, operational forecast are supplemented, with the inclusion that errors are
reduced in Katrina landfall positions. From the eighty four to one hundred and twenty hour marks that
the large averages of improvements are made in Katrina s track forecast. The RS wind observations
can be used to improve the track forecast of hurricanes.
Introduction
Weather predictions continued to be a challenge when improving the forecast of tropical cyclones,
also known as a hurricane (TC). Today, the TC track for forecasts have largely improved due to the
amount of quality of observations, improved forecast models, and data assimilation procedures. To
improve analysis and forecast events, methods to identify sensitive locations of the atmosphere have
to be specially observed. Special observations are intended to improve initial conditions and merge
forecasts products.
The most common approach used in targeted observing is for an aircraft to deploy sets of ten to forty
dropsondes in the targeted regions. Satellite derived observations are also a targeted mode to improve
forecast. Advantages when using satellite observations are large numbers of observations, observe

  • 2. The Constitutional Principle Of The Rule Of Law INTRODUCTION Undoubtedly, the constitutional principle of the rule of law is one of the most essential values in the English legal system. It has aptly been characterized as a wrapper that is placed around a bundle of more specific principles . Interestingly, prominent personalities like inter alia, Lord Bingham, Jeffrey Jowell and Dicey, have identified that legality, certainty, accountability, efficiency, due process and access to justice are only a number of those specific principles which all together constitute the rule of law. Some of these values reflect the formal conception of the rule of law while others, the substantive. Furthermore, it would be an omission not to say that, within the absence of a written constitution, the rule of law places a significant role within the English legal system. The following essay will assess how the courts use the weapons of justice, to restrain and scrutinize the abuse of the executive power in the UK. The role of the judicial review process and the principles of: bare principle of legality and principle of legal certainty will be examined by reference to academic opinion and case law. The conclusion will be that, although the dogma of the rule of law managed to hold the executive up to a satisfying level, the principle of parliamentary sovereignty does have the final say. Weapons in the wrong hands protected by The Second Amendment Humanity has evolved since its creation and self defense has evolved too. Hundreds of years ago man had to defend his life to the multiple threats that existed and still exist today; therefore, weapons were created to strengthen their defense. • 4. Language In Rabbit Proof Fence Rabbit Proof Fence is a movie directed by Phillip Noyce based on the novel by Doris Pilkington Garimara. In the excerpt, The Stealing of Children, it shows the offspring of the indigenous people being taken away from their parents as the white settlers thought they weren t being treated properly. Events like these occurred from 1910 1970 in Australia s history. Many aboriginal children didn t want to be taken away and the fictional story, based on real events, of Rabbit Proof Fence has been created from the point of view of those people living at this time. The director has created many representations of Aboriginal people through the use of language features, visual elements and the audio components. The language features of The Stealing of Children give many representations of the indigenous people. One of these devices is repetition. Once the aboriginals were trapped by Constable Riggs, Maude repeatedly shouted the word, No! . While he took the children, she continued to state that they were hers and she didn t like him taking them. Her repetitiveness gave the impression that she didn t want to lose her kids and that she loved them. This also gave the impression that Maude had no authority against Riggs. Another language element featured in the film is evocative vocabulary. It was used among the shouts of the indigenous people and the police man. When the Grandmother came to the car with a large stick, which she may have used to try and break the car windows, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Being Too Brilliant Is Dangerous Sometimes being too brilliant is dangerous. Herman Mudgett lived a normal childhood, for the most part, but he also did things your average child wouldn t do. He had an impressive college education, although it lead to him committing insurance fraud and the stealing of corpses. After moving to Chicago, he continued the fraud and began the homicides. He had many girlfriends and wives, women tended to fall for his charm, which lead to their death. Henry H. Holmes did terrible things, from tricking people to killing them, but the intelligence behind his actions is what kept him from getting caught for so many years. Herman Webster Mudgett was born on May 16, 1861 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. As a child, Herman was bullied, at one point being forced to touch a skeleton in a doctor s office (hhholmes.weebly.com). Herman was very intelligent from a young age. He began to dissect both living and dead animals. After graduating high school, Herman went to the University of Vermont to study medicine. He then transferred to the University of Michigan, because he was interested in their human dissection program. Holmes and his friend Benjamin Pitizel conducted a plan to collect insurance money from fake family members. Holmes stole bodies from his medical school. He was accused by the school of stealing bodies, but there was no solid evidence against the accusation (History.com). When he finished medical school he went to New York to be a doctor s apprentice. EEOC s role in this case was to file lawsuit against the employer (Exel) on behalf of the employee Contrice Travis and to protect the rights of this employee and the interests of the public. Whether or not this lawsuit promotes social change; justify your reasoning. This verdict is a blow against sex discrimination and reaffirms that women should be allowed the full opportunity to advance in an organization based on merit, EEOC General Counsel David Lopez said after the jury rendered its verdict. If all discrimination cases gets the headline and attention, it will promote social changes but not all cases are heard (reported) or brought to surface (lawsuit filed). An example of a trophic interaction includes parasitism, which is a relationship that involves a harmful organism living on another organism, and is presented by the galls ( plant tumours ) on the Grey Mangrove. The formation of a gall is initiated when an insect feeds on a plant or dominates the tissue of a plant and lays eggs there. The eggs will grow within the leaves, which they will eventually devour. Whereas a middle paragraph is more like a block, it starts out with a broad statement but elaborates instead of narrowing down. The main purpose is to explain the points in your thesis by not confusing the reader. Paragraphing keeps each point separated so that one big block of explaining does not bore your reader, it also helps the writer explain his point. A more visible example of rules changing to meet the cultural needs of a society is one that we see in our everyday lives while watching professional baseball or MLB. The Major League Baseball is divided into two leagues which are the National league and the American League. The American League has a designated hitter while the National League does not allow designated hitters within their rules. Rules do not conflict when teams of their respected leagues play against each other but when a team from the National League has to play against a team from the American League, rules conflict. Teams must now play according to home field rules. That means if the American League team happens to be the home team, rules apply for the allowance of a designated hitter. Back in the schoolyard, basketball rules are arbitrary all the time. Rules are less strict in the schoolyard compared to rules in the NBA or in college basketball. In 1960, William Prosser described how privacy came to be established in tort law and how many distinct torts fit within it, including torts for intrusion, public disclosure of private facts, and placing a person in a false light. Daniel Solove builds off of Prosser s work, constructing a legal taxonomy of privacy focused on information collection, information processing, information dissemination, and intrusion. United States, which is largely considered a landmark case as the Court s unanimous decision resulted in the establishment of the exclusionary rule prohibiting the submission of evidence to court which was obtained illegally (i.e. in violation of the Fourth Amendment by being unreasonably seized without a warrant). In his dissent in Olmstead, Brandeis made an eloquent argument that the Fourth Amendment remains applicable in the case, as individuals should have a reasonable expectation of privacy in their conversations (which, in this instance, had been wiretapped by law enforcement officials targeting bootleggers violating the National Prohibition Act). Brandeis wrote: The makers of our Constitution undertook to secure conditions favorable to the pursuit of happiness. They recognized the significance of man s spiritual nature, of his feelings and of his intellect. They knew that only a part of the pain, pleasure, and satisfactions of life are to be found in material things. Essay about Good Will Hunting Character Analysis Introduction Social Cognitive theory believes that humans are individuals who are capable of proactively making things happen to assist in their own development (Parajes, 2002). In Good Will Hunting, Will Hunting did not believe that he was able to make a positive change in his life. Will is a prodigy, particularly in mathematics, who did not recognize his gift. He was born and raised in the slums, where he is now comfortable. He was abandoned by his parents and in and out of numerous foster homes. He experienced abuse and neglect in these homes. Will is brilliant and has knowledge about many topics. He reads a lot to keep himself knowledgeable. He answers difficult math problems that are put on a board at MIT, where he works as a janitor. In trying to maintain congruence between his self view and his experiences he does not trust anyone. When someone tries to get close and help him he denies needing help. Will is defensive towards everyone he comes in contact with. He experiences incongruence with his cockiness of being smarter than most but he doesn t feel he deserves better than living as a nobody. Will s ability to push all his therapists and his girlfriend away shows his defensiveness. He keeps this tough boy attitude to make others not want to care about him because no one ever has. Rogers pathology includes defensive maintenance of self (Pervin et al., 2005). Will s therapist was concerned about Will and took an active role in understanding the experiences of the client (Pervin et al, p. 198, 2005). This therapy is called Client Centered Therapy. • 14. The Dinosaurs Of The Mesozoic Era A traditional archeological dig, facilitated by new technological advancements uncovers raptor fossils by a team of researchers. This is how the movie Jurassic park begins. It shows almost a foreshadowing of the events to come as the doctor looking at the technology shows weariness to the usage of the machine to do the work they could have done by hand. Likewise, the Jurassic Park movie tells a story of an increased scientific presence in the scientific study of the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era. Due to the ardent work of dinosaur researchers, dinosaurs are brought back to life for the purpose of education and entertainment. With this financier and developer of the program, Jeff Hammond brings together a team of scientists, a lawyer and two of his grandchildren on an adventure to experience the park first hand. However, due to a series of unfortunate events the parks loses functionality resulting in their team having to physical experience survival during the time of the dinosaur. While half of the team fights to stay alive the developer his group of survivors must find a way to rescue the visitors and get back in control of the park. I found the movie to be more entertaining than educational. It was more for the purposes of telling a story, which I believe was about the power that genetics has brought humans. The story seems to warn against going too far with the use of genetic information. This, in my opinion, is greatly exemplified by one of the last scenes in the movie. ... All the parents were very complimentary of the teachers and their assistance in providing their children with the necessary tools to be academically successfully. We had our school homecoming on Monday so I was busy assisting the committee on preparation for the evening event. All eight grade teachers are required to be a part of this committee so that includes me. I enjoy events like this because when you participate the students (most) appreciate your hard work and seeing you there at their special event. After school on Monday, October 16th I assisted the band director, cheerleading coach, and football coach in lining up the students outside so we could have a couple run through practices on how the evening would transpire. It was nice seeing all the students and faculty coming together to coordinate and plan such a memorable event. • 34. Film Analysis, the Last Castle Essay In the film, The Last Castle, I found many aspects and theories that involve organizational communication throughout the movie. The film is about a US prison where the prisoners have formally served in the military and have committed crimes while serving their time. The movie shows how the prisoners come together when a former well respected general is sent there to overpower the man that runs the facility. The first theory and probably the most noted theory is the Adaptive Structuration Theory of Marshall Scott Poole. Poole s theory states, Members in groups are creating the group as they act within it A lot of times people in groups build up structures or arrangements that are very uncomfortable for them, but they don t realize that ... The next step of the model is conflict, in which factions disagree on how to approach the problem and argue against other viewpoints, and members justify their own position. An example of this is when Aguilar, the stuttering marine, wants to help build the wall the inmates were building. One other inmate ridicules him and tells him he is doing it all wrong, but Aguilar s father is a mason and has taught him the correct way to brick a wall. He stands strong and when the group begins to form he is made the head mason when they rebuild the wall under Irwin s orders. Another example would be when Aguilar gets in trouble in the beginning of the movie for saluting the General and is punished by standing out in the rain. When General Irwin tells him he doesn t have to continue out his punishment he is then punished by Col. Winters for trying to go over what he said even though it was pointed out that the punishment was illegal. The third step of the phase model is coalescence, where tensions are reduced through peaceful negotiation, and members allow others to save face by adopting solutions acceptable to all. An example is when Thumper and the other guy are fighting in the yards and the sirens start to go off. Thumper refuses to drop down and the consequence was him getting shot with the rubber bullet gun. When the group starts to form they all want to be a part of it and when the final solution was adopted the enemies became friends like Thumper and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Essay On Hurricane Katrina Abstract The observations of Hurricane Katrina are examined by several data assimilations and forecast experiments from the Geostationary Operational Environment Satellite (GOES) rapid scan (RS) wind observations. The satellites tracks cloud motions from a five minute images and intervals. During the observations, operational forecast are supplemented, with the inclusion that errors are reduced in Katrina landfall positions. From the eighty four to one hundred and twenty hour marks that the large averages of improvements are made in Katrina s track forecast. The RS wind observations can be used to improve the track forecast of hurricanes. Introduction Weather predictions continued to be a challenge when improving the forecast of tropical cyclones, also known as a hurricane (TC). Today, the TC track for forecasts have largely improved due to the amount of quality of observations, improved forecast models, and data assimilation procedures. To improve analysis and forecast events, methods to identify sensitive locations of the atmosphere have to be specially observed. Special observations are intended to improve initial conditions and merge forecasts products. The most common approach used in targeted observing is for an aircraft to deploy sets of ten to forty dropsondes in the targeted regions. Satellite derived observations are also a targeted mode to improve forecast. Advantages when using satellite observations are large numbers of observations, observe wide and ...
