Game Of Throns Negotiation Analysis
In this paper we will anylaze a scene from the Game of Throns. In this scene the charecater, Halisi,
negotiating with king of Astapor, Kraznys. We will describe the scene, character and important
information in order to be able to analyze the negotiation using the relevant termonolgy. First, we need
to understand who are the players in this negotiation and what arre their goals and unility funcation. In
this negotiation, Kraznys is presented as a mean king who abuses his people. His main goal is to sell
his soldiers in a higher cost. Halisi, is a neglacted Royal blood that seeks to gain power. Her main goal
in this negotiation is to get as many soldiers as she can from Kraznys while not having only a few

Halisi s BATNA was to buy a low amount of soldiers, according to her low ability to pay, and slowly
gain her power by war or additional negotiations. Sicne the king saw Halisi came with little property,
it looks as if he is in the stronger position in this negotiation. This is a integrative negotiation that
involves several issues: wheter he is willing to sell the young boys, how many soldiers she can aford,
and including the translater in the deal. Both parties won t have future relations. The negotiation was
between both carecters, it was monolithic, while the king used the help of translater. Despte the fact
she used satelre wonders while translating, he was the one to make the choice. This negotiation had
only one round and it was deterministic. During the negotioation we noticed both sideds toke the

neccesary information. The King also had preparation as he knew the property she owns and pre

At the present time America has about 20 million immigrants from Mexico and South America. As
economies of Third World country continue to deteriorate more and more people will come to
America. Everybody wants what America has but because of the agendas of Third World country
politicians and the corruption of governments and the war over illegal criminal activities the safe
haven of America will still be the priority of people around the world. The demographics of the United
States we will continue to move to a change in diversity from a white majority to really know majority
at all. The Hispanic population continues to grow in America while the white population continues to
decline. The African American population has already moved from the largest minority to the second
largest minority be replaced by the Hispanic minority. If this trend continues by 2050 we can see the
Hispanic population become the majority of the largest minority and other people who have not had to
fight for civil rights may now find themselves as a beneficiary of those civil rights battles fought by
other minorities.
What challenges does the United States face due to the diversity of its people?
The first issue that comes to mind is language. If the Hispanic population becomes a majority will we
see a change in the language that is not only taught but spoken in America. Many merchants and
government agencies now speak Spanish as well as English. The

Assault On Campus
How Should Sexual Assaults On Campus Be Handled? When congress passed the gender equality law
known as Title IX (1972) more than 40 years ago, no one expected it to make colleges responsible for
handling sexual assault. Title IX was a stealth law aimed at helping women get through the doors of
higher education and is now being interpreted to require colleges to investigate and resolve students
reports of rape, determining whether their classmates are responsible for assault and, if so, what the
punishment should be. (Wilson, Paragraph 1 2) The term Sexual Assault was defined by the district as
any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. With
that definition, the term on campus was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Contracting Oversight, is teaming up with Senators Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Richard

on campus, as the Senators consider legislative solutions. Participating in the roundtables will be
current or former student survivors, campus safety and sexual assault experts, sex crimes prosecutors,
university law enforcement, victim advocacy and response organizations, and university
administrators. These roundtables are the next step in our in depth look at the practices our campus
communities have in place to protect students and bring perpetrators to justice and how we can fix,
strengthen and enforce them, said McCaskill, a former courtroom prosecutor of sex crimes. It s clear
we have a lot of work to do to tackle the systemic issues that prevent victims from reporting these
crimes, that prevent schools from effectively protecting these survivors, and prevent clear and proper
enforcement of federal law. These meetings will help us understand, from those who know best, what
more we can do for students, administrators, and law enforcement to give them the tools they need to
curb this epidemic. (McCaskill, Paragraph 4) With all of this happening many procedures have been
suggested and are all getting tested out. The consequences of sexual assault are potentially very
serious. An immediate concern is a physical injury, which may be extensive enough to require medical
treatment or hospitalization.11 Pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV,
are additional concerns.12 Emotional damage may be serious and equally requiring of treatment.

Responsibility In John Steinbeck s Cannery Row
Often times, individuals use the phrase set your priorities straight to indicate they need a realignment
on what is valued more. An individual s priorities vary, depending on one s values. Some put their
individual values before others ; while some give others priorities more value than their own. Authors
occasionally engrave this moral into their novels to leave an impact in the reader s lives. John
Steinbeck s Cannery Row tells a story of Mack and the boys, who want to show their appreciation for
Doc by throwing him a surprise party at the comfort of his home. But when the alcohol takes over
their actions, Doc s home seems to have been shook upside down. Throughout the process, conflicts

Talbot give back to others by planning parties, demonstrating their charitable acts. Mack and the boys,
street bums, want to acknowledge their appreciation for Doc by giving him a party, this shows their
charitable personality by giving when they themselves do not have much. In chapter seven, Mack and
the boys conversate about throwing Doc a party, It s going to take dough to give Doc a party . . . it
ought to be a good one (Steinbeck 44). Considering that Mack and the boys were homeless, until Doc

this fact and decide to give Doc a celebration to praise their appreciation for him. Even though they
know they barely have enough money to get around, they strongly demonstrate their selfless character.
Mack also explains it has to be a good one this shows that they are planning to devote all their effort
into the party. They want to plan an enjoyable party for Doc, but this will come with a cost. Mrs.
Talbot s kindhearted nature relays the importance of being generous through the usage of a metaphor.
In chapter 24, the narrator introduces the Talbots, They were pretty near the bottom most of the time,
and when they really scraped, Mary managed to give some kind of a party (Steinbeck 143). The
narrator compares the Talbots low standing to their bank account, to describe their low financial

The Colonization Of Africa Is A Significant Reason Why The...
The colonization of Africa is a significant reason why the educational system in Africa is split between
the countries it holds. Between the late 1800s and early 1900s Africa faced many military annexations
and diplomatic conquests. The impact of colonialism has influenced the conflicts in Liberia that
happened in the late 1900s. Liberia s civil wars held a responsibility for the devastation that is
implicated in its racial stance. Social Darwinism gave support for the superior rule over Africa. Liberia
s conflicts play a notable role in how westernization of education and race are viewed throughout
Africa. Liberia s education system emerged because of these conflicts. Colonizing Africa began
between the 1870s 1900. An important tragedy of colonization is the stripping of ethnicities. Modern
Africa is a product of European imperialism, not African heritage and tradition. Once the profits of the
slave trade collapsed, because of its abolition, European markets were looking for ways to keep a
steady way to make profits. Traditionally, Africa had been divided into groups by tribe, family, clan
and lineage. During the process of colonization these characteristics were social, economic and
political. Colonial state formation caused new values, institutions and operational principles to take
place. The African colonization required the taking of territories that were unknown to the political
world. The old views on who would run each group were diminished by the new rulers

The Future Of The Current Healthcare Industry Trends
Current Healthcare Industry Trends
The future of US healthcare is one of the most constant question the country faces. The healthcare
industry is a formation and culmination of clinicians and non clinicians both, that provide diagnostic,
preventive, remedial, and therapeutic services. As there is an increase in longevity amongst
Americans, there is also an insistence for not only additional, but also improved preventive and long
term care. There are current trends in the healthcare sector that are emerging to meet the demands
previously mentioned, such as: continuous opportunities for employment, patients are becoming more
conscious, and personalized medicine.

Consumers are more aware than ever before that change in their own behavior and lifestyle will have a

to be a challenge, as some become terrified and others inundated. Making judgement on the best
treatment options for one s own health, can be burdensome, especially since medicine can become

more providers are resisting changing antiquated techniques. With the advancement of technology,
patients are now becoming enlightened on how to maintain their own health. According to The Wall

The Finches From The Galapagos Island
Change is the key factor in a species survival, whether that change, is being minimal or extremely
dramatic, and without change a species have condemned itself to extinction. Animals have learned to
adapt to their surroundings in order to survive, and with these adaptation people can witness new
breeds added to the spectrum and see them flourish. Breeds can be defined as a stock of animals or
plants within a species having a distinctive appearance and typically having been developed by
deliberate selection. For example the finches from the Galapagos Island s they are all finches, but they
all differed in their appearance, some had smaller others had larger beaks. Charles Darwin studied
these Finches and came to discover that the Finches differed in appearance because they had adapted
to their environment. The Galápagos finches provide an excellent example of this process. Among the
birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus obtained
supplementary food. As a result, they were in healthier condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak
shapes that were well suited in getting nectar from flowers or eating thicker shielded seeds in other
environments were at an advantage there. In a very real sense, nature selected the best adapted
varieties to survive and to reproduce. With his findings throughout the years Darwin formulated his
theory of evolution by natural selection, and published his first book entitled, On the Origin

A Reoccurring Theme Of Mary Shelly s Frankenstein
In the novel, Frankenstein, Mary Shelly tends to create a reoccurring theme that isolation indeed leads
to the destruction of humans. There were negative consequences throughout the book when isolation
occurred, whether it was earned or unearned. From the beginning of this novel, Victor isolates himself
on his own because of his selfish interests in playing the role of God in life. Victor s creation
experienced negative consequences from being separated not only from Victor but the world around it.
Mary Shelly introduced isolation at the beginning of this novel by showing Victor s interests that lead
to his isolation, as well as the isolation of his creation. In the article, Monsters of Modernity:

This statement goes to show that Victor s addiction to the human composure is what lead to his fate of
isolation. Victor s creation received unnecessary isolation which created multiple adverse
consequences for him. After Victor had created this life from dead body parts, he abandoned it because
he was ashamed of the monster he had created. Victor was shocked to see that his creation lacked
basic human qualities and had an unappealing appearance. Victor was his creature s mother, father,
and Godly figure, who left him because he was incapable of being a great being. This creation was
innocent from the moment it was created because it had no choice about its appearance or physical
traits. If the monster blamed its isolation on anyone, it would be Victor because he left it when it
needed him the most resulting in the creation turning to nature for all support. The creation is not only
shut out by Victor because of its look, but society shuts him out. too. I am alone and miserable; man
will not associate with me, said Victor s creation in the novel Frankenstein (Shelley 103). Victor s
creature knew that his appearance would turn people away, yet there was nothing he was able to do.
The society that got a glimpse of this monster was mortified by his grotesque like appearance and his

What Is The Formal Analysis Of The Bauhaus
The Bauhaus is a school that opened in 1919 by Walter Gropius. The school focused on bringing
together all forms of art and design making all faculties equal in importance. At first the school was
influenced by The Arts and Crafts movement but after 1923 the focus shifted to mechanized
production. Moholy Nagy, the director of the Bauhaus from 1923 onward, wanted new solutions for
the problems of industrialization by means of mass production and educating the new generation on
how to create such solutions.
The students, from diverse backgrounds and interests, had to pass a preliminary course before being
admitted into the school and then were part of workshops where they would do practical work (1923

Rama s Journey In The Story Of The Ramayana
The Ramayana is an ancient Sanskrit epic, it s Hindu scriptures and classical Indian epic poems that
are usually written in the early Indic language of India, that follows Prince Rama s journey through
many obstacles. These barriers that he undertook through that expedition includes Rama going into the
village to kill Titans with his mentor Sage Vasishtha, stringing the bow of Shiva, no man is able to
complete this task, and being ostracized for 14 years and live in the forest with Sita and his brother
Lakshmana, and the most stupendous quest that he accomplished was the one that he saved Sita.
While living in the forest, the beautiful Sita captured the eye of a Demon ruler Ravana. Ravana
abducted Sita and Rama rescued her with the help from the monkey king Sugriva. Because she was
captured for one year and sleeping in another man s house, Rama questions Sita s purity and faith. To
prove her chastity, Sita throws herself on a pyre in sorrow and she is spared by the god of fire. This
proves Sita s purity and after that Rama welcome Sita back on his side.
After all this, I must tell you that it is not customary to admit back to the normal married fold a
woman who has resided all alone in a stranger s house. There can be no question of our living together

Personal Statement And Core Values
Personal Mission Statement and Core Values My personal mission is to constantly strive to be the best
overall person that I can be within my personal and professional life. My goals are to inspire and help
others and myself around me to achieve greatness and a balance that will maximize our potential that
will transcend the boundaries of our dreams. In addition to my mission statement, my core life values
are the foundation of my mission statement, which allows me to uphold my promises and standards.
These promises and standards will afford me the opportunity to improve the life of others and myself
for the better. Therefore, there are four particular core values that I live by each and every day. The
four values are commitment, compassion, dedication, and optimism. The first core value,
commitment, embodies the theme of loyalty and honor. I work hard each day to live up to the
promises that I make to finish tasks, help others, and meet the expectations that I place on myself or
by others. The second core value that I live by is compassion because I wholeheartedly believe in
being kind to everyone and helping those in need. The third value that I live by is dedication. Along
with the previous two values, dedication is an important factor because being dedicated to someone or
something allows a person to display that person s character of being steadfast and passionate even in

Racial Profiling by Police is Not Justified Essay
Even the United States struggles with issues of racial discrimination despite being a society highly
based on immigrants and multicultural diversity. On one hand, people frown on treatment based on
race, whether that is on an individual or group level. On the other, people are tired and annoyed by the
seemingly constant call of discrimination. All of these feelings culminate into the debate pertaining to
the use of racial profiling. Likewise, there are some individuals that hold a certain level of acceptance
in regard to racial profiling. However, what is lost in the process because of that acceptance? There are
many components that need to be thought about in reference to the use of racial profiling. In addition,

In relation to the debate of racial profiling, Taylor and Whitney define racial profiling as the practice
of questioning blacks in disproportionate numbers in expectation that they are more likely than people
of other races to be criminals (Taylor Whitney, 2002). Statistics show that African Americans and
Hispanics commit more crime than Caucasians, with 90% of the 1.7 million interracial crimes
stemming from the hands of African American men. Even looking at these numbers, does that make it
okay for the police to arrest and interrogate these racial minorities at such a high frequency? Where
are these statistics coming from? How accurate are they? Does the media provide a skewed analysis of
these findings? These are the types of questions that need to be addressed in regard to evaluating the
validity of racial profiling.
The annual National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) has been the primary method for gathering
data and providing these staggering statistics. The NCVS provides information gathered from the
victim, which includes information on crimes that went unreported to the police. The Uniform Crime

UCR only has information regarding crimes that were reported to the police, as well as arrests. Both

Differences Between Film And Othello
Throughout the years the play Othello by William Shakespeare has been adapted both on the screen
and on stage many times. The questions or race and racism that have quite often been a point of
discussion with William Shakespeare s play Othello can be seen through the bard, however some may
argue that Othello s skin colour was purely a plot device. This paper will look at two film that have
been re made since the 1960 s, which provides an analysis of the concept of race and how political
ideas and events of that time have influenced each adaptation. It will be seen that the film version of
Othello directed by Oliver Parker in 1995 compared to the film version directed by Geoff Sax in 2001
present s race with differing degrees.

Other critics denied that Parker s version in any way entertained the subject of race. Brode and Rick
Groen, a reviewer for The Globe and Mail Review, thought it was a sexual thriller with overtones of
homosexual attraction.
From a visual perspective, the film is captivating, especially the love scene between Othello and
Desdemona. To say that this is based on the O.J Simpson trial is perplexing. Although Parker does
selectively reduce the dialogue from Shakespeare s play, all that has been selectively captured and
included from the play, is straight out of the play. Although there is no basis between the film and the
O.J Simpson trial the commonality between the true is that they both invite the audience to look and
think about how conscious we are about the issues of race within society. Unlike 400 years ago, in
modern society, it is very much impossible to ignore Iago s character and not determine that he is in
fact a racist. The symbolism used by Parker where Iago delivers his monologue over the chess board,
where the chess pieces have been positioned to show a black king opposing a white queen and knight,
is used to clearly illustrate Iago s manipulative character in trying to make Othello question whether
Desdemona is even attracted to him because of his colour. Instead, Iago pairs both the white queen and
the white knight signifying a more likely choice for Desdemona would be Cassio.
At the beginning of the film,

Russian Economic Overview
Economic Overview: Although Russia is one of the BRICs countries; it is showing some weakness
over the last years with the Euro crisis. The country suffered with economic problems that made its
economy to slow the foreign demand. With the weaker foreign demand and the domestic fiscal
consolidation made the output growth reduced to 3.4% in 2012. The weakness extended to 2013, with
first quarter real GDP falling 1.1% from the previous period, reducing 12 month growth to 1.1%, the
lowest rate since 2009. In this scenario, the investment in opening a BFSI in Russia would bring really
bad results in terms of profits. In addition, the inflation in Russia rose up to 7.2% in April 2013. The
final reason why Russia is going to provide a bad economic perspective to our company is direct
related with the crisis in Ukraine. With this crisis, Russia would suffer a major recession and is being
strongly affected due to its high dependence on energy supplies via Ukraine .
Conclusion: Due to the political uncertainty combined with the weak economy that Russia is

Skate Skis
The skate ski has a single camber. Compared to the classic ski the skate ski does not have a grip zone
beneath the middle of the ski, but has a stiff camber. The entire base of the skate ski is a glide zone for
the ski to move smoothly and continuously in snow. Because of the stiffness of the camber the skate
ski has less flexibility than the classic ski. To determine the ski fit for skate skis it requires a different
test than classic skis. If the skate skis does not have enough camber, then the skis are too soft. When
the skier applies his weight to the skis, the entire bottom of the ski flattens. This causes a lot of
pressure that is being applied in the center of the skis. With all this pressure under the foot of the skier
the ski becomes unpredictable and erratic. However, if the skis have too much camber, the ski are too

Examples Of Irony In A Prayer For Owen Meany
In the novel, A Prayer For Owen Meany, Written by John Irving is covered with literary devices.
Every scene written has a purpose. His most common literary elements include foreshadowing,
symbolism and Irony. From the armadillo to the wedding all these literary devices help the novel piece
together, creating the book that it is. The following instrument, foreshadowing, symbolism and Irony
help us better understand on how Owen Meany is truly a God s Instrument.
Foreshadowing plays a huge role in this novel. Without it would be mere coincidence on the events
that happen to Owen Meany. A prime example on this is when Owen is at the Tabitha Wheelwright s
wedding. Simon makes a remark on what Owen is wearing, saying You look like you re at a funeral, ...

That anything is the armadillo that Owen and Johnny love to play with. The armadillo symbolizes the
trust and the friendship between Johnny and Owen even though Owen accidently killed Tabitha. This
shows the bond that the two have that carries through the entire novel till the end. The armadillo was
sent to Owen as a symbol for trust and friendship, but it was returned to show us that Owen is a God s
instrument. The armadillo was returned to Johnny armless. Owen felt really depraved for giving it
back armless but his true intention of making the armadillo armless was shown when they are
nineteen. The armadillo was returned to Johnny armless because Owen believes that GOD HAS
TAKENED MY HANDS. I AM GOD S INSTRUMENT. This shows that Owen believe that it was
destined that Tabitha was going to die by Owen s hands. Taking the armadillo claws and giving it back
to Johnny armless shows that Owen believes that God took Owen s arm and God is controlling him
like an instrument. In the end all symbols represent that Owen will be armless since the statue, Tabitha

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about in a
theological point of view. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the
characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all
started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs.
The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can be seen in
different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the bible presents them. Take for example
Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian capital,
where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society. His loyal
service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people of Scripture.
Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive record of his
actions.

Theories on Evolution of Species
What is Evolution? It is the process by which modern organisms have descended from ancient
ancestors [1]. Many great scientists have developed theories to answer the question, Where did life,
and human beings, come from? Two major theories of evolution that still exist, and valid today are
Charles Darwin s theory, and Lamarck s theory. These two theories have many differences, but
attempt to explain evolution.
Charles Robert Darwin, was a naturalist, who proposed one of the most renowned theories of
evolution; the theory of Natural Selection . Darwin published his work of evolution through his book,
The Origin of Species and describes the process of evolution as the survival of the fittest . There are
four processes to Natural Selection Variation, Inheritance, Time and Selection. Variation is individuals
genetic makeup can vary within a population. Variation can occur three ways; sex (the independent
assortment of and recombination of genes through meiosis and other processes), gene flow (
movement of genes from one population to another )[2] and random mutation. Inheritance is the
inheritance of genetic traits from parent to offspring. Time is the timeframe where evolutionary
changes, such as speciation, can happen. Selection is survival of the fittest , where the favourable
genes dominate the population. The peppered moth is an animal, which follows Darwin s theory. The
start of the Industrial Revolution caused selection pressure on the light coloured peppered

of claiming the land was that the land had already been claimed itself. Upon the very land, lived

The Segregation And Subjugation Of African Americans
Political inequality has been an obstacle that many minority groups have encountered throughout
history. The segregation and subjugation of African Americans in the United States during the 1900s
was indifferent. Although innumerable people were opposed to the unfamiliar ideals of anti
segregation activists, George Edwin Taylor went against the standards of society, and explored new
civil morals. Through his endeavors, he was able to encourage people to divert from their accepted
beliefs and helped establish a foundation for the yet to come Civil Rights Movement. In the year 1857,
George Edwin Taylor was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to a free black, Amanda Hines, and slave,
Bryant Taylor. At the time of his birth, Arkansas was preparing for the forced removal of
approximately 700 free blacks. On February 12, 1859 the Free Negro Expulsion Act was enacted in
the state of Arkansas. All free blacks were ordered to leave the state by January 1, 1860, or they would
consequently be sold into slavery. Amanda Hines fled the state with her child to Alton, Illinois. In

The ancient Mayans were a very well developed society with a very accurate calendar, skilled

Their empire covered an area of roughly 400,000 to 500,000 square kilometers. This area included the

The Maya civilization can be divided into three main periods: Pre Classic, Classic, and Post Classic.
Their greatest accomplishments most likely took place in the Classic period. This period occurred
between 250 and 910AD. An extensive trade network was in place during this period that allowed the
civilization to grow as large as sixty separate kingdoms. Other technological advances also took place
during this time.
They developed their writing system, mathematics, astronomy, and calendars. Their study of
astronomy allowed them to predict when there would be a solar or lunar eclipse. They also developed
their calendar that is called the Long Count Calendar. The Long Count Calendar was not completely a
Mayan creation because they inherited the basic form from the Toltec.
The mathematics developed by the Maya was a base 20 numbering system. This is similar to the base
10 system we use today. The Maya were able to do this using only three symbols, the dot, the bar, and
a symbol for zero.
The numbering system was written vertically instead of horizontally like the one we use today. The
base level can be represented by 20^0, and each additional level increases the exponent by one. This is
shown in the graphic below.
The Mayan calendar has a starting date of 3113BC that is given the year 0. It used their base 20

Choosing Adoption Instead of Abortion
The National Adoption Center stated, There are no unwanted children. Just unfound families. This
quote shows the positive outlook that adoption agencies portray. When a parent chooses not to keep
custody of a child, the child then becomes available for other parents to adopt them. Once adopted the
child has an opportunity to have a regular life with people who will love and provide for them. If that
adult had chosen to not keep the child, then they wouldn t have had a chance to become an adult or
even be born. The option of adoption should be used to replace abortion.
Abortion is way stop your pregnancy. A study at Guttmacher Institute has shown statistics about
mothers who have abortions. 56% are unmarried, 61% already have children, and 58% are in their 20
s. 21% of all unplanned pregnancies end in abortion (Abortion in the United States). The Guttmacher
Institute study states, 69% are economically challenged, and 73% report religious affiliation. 4 in 10
unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. These stats show the way that unexpected pregnancies are
dealt with.
Adoption has evolved into a wonderful option. Recently, the phrase give up and abortion have become
synonymous, but women aren t giving up anything ( giving up ).As a birth mother, a sense of
empowerment is felt in the knowledge that they ve created a child. They get the reassurance that their

Analyzing Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking
The poem Blackberry Picking is about a young man s coming of age, and how the lesson he learns,
about picking blackberries, relates to the human realization that reality is not always how we want it to
be. Seamus Heaney illustrates this lesson by showing the narrator s unabiding desire for the
blackberries when he speaks of the lust for picking and how he was willing to go out in the fields to
pick the blackberries despite having to go where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots in
obvious discomfort (7 8,10). Furthermore, after the blackberries had turned bad the narrator clearly
tells us, each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not (24). This final bit at the end shows how

one and two. This could be interpreted to portray how the speaker feels. The speaker wants the
blackberries to stay sweet despite his experience picking blackberries that would always end up
rotting. At the same time, the slant rhymes are so close to rhyming, but never fully do creating a
bittersweet feeling that symbolizes how the speaker loves the blackberries, but how he hates how they
rot. In the text this is reinforced when he says, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair (22). Another
example of Seamus creating this bittersweet tone in the poem is how he uses iambic pentameter
throughout most of the poem, but similar to how the slant rhymes don t quite work, on every couple of
lines he breaks the meter and adds an extra syllable. This feeling is continued throughout the poem
until the second stanza when Seamus starts to correct these things. He does this by starting to write in
true iambic pentameter except for one time on line 21 when sour adds two extra syllables sustaining
the rhythm he built up, but still adding emphasis to the word sour. Seamus connects the bitter sweet or
sour tone to a line that is out of place. Eventually, the poem is exactly what it

Even though hiking is fun, it is also has things that are needed to be avoided. People have to be careful
when hiking in Denver. Another outdoor activity to enjoy in Denver is climbing. According to
Castrone, Climbing isn t exactly the kind of sport you just decide to try on a Saturday morning (185).
Climbing can be fun and exciting in Colorado. When climbing you have to take lessons before starting
it. This activity can be dangerous to most people. Overall climbing is a fun activity that you have to be
careful doing in Denver, Colorado. Even though visiting Denver and engaging into their activities can

Summary Of Keeping Things Whole By Mark Strand
The poem Keeping Things Whole by Mark Strand is written in the first person point of view and the
narrator discusses his solitude and how he is always moving. Strand uses enjambment and the use of
free verse in Keeping Things Whole to convey the meaning of isolation and absence. One poetic
device used in Keeping Things Whole is enjambment. This is when a phrase is continued without a
pause at the end of a line. One example of enjambment in Keeping Things Whole is the phrase I am
the absence / of field (lines 2 3). By ending the line at the word absence , Strand creates an importance
and emphasis on the motif of absence. Another instance of enjambment in Keeping Things Whole is
We all have reasons / for moving (14 15). By stating

Road King Trucks Case Analysis Essay
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of Road King Trucks new project which is introducing a new product into its
product line. I will decide whether run the project or not. Six issues will be discussed as follows 1)
importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3) cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5) evaluation
6) accept or reject.
We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will gain $532 million in
wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The company has a bond rating of AA that makes
the risk relatively low. So we should definitely say yes.
Issues
Importance of Energy Cost
Road King Trucks, Inc. is a truck manufacturing company. The new CEO Michael Livingston
arranged a meeting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The land was accounted for opportunity cost. If we don t run the project, we can sell it and earn $6
million right now.
Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate of return to be
higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk and overall capital structure of
the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it presents how much the company pays for the capital it
finances. In this case, the cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated WACC using
those numbers and got a result of 8.49%.
Choose an Engine (see table 3)
There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the warranties. The decision
should be made according to engines quality, effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is the main
factor. In this case, Detroit engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of $1,000 each
year for 5 years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the warranty is $1,500 per
year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20 years. The NPVs of the
warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced. For example, the warranty of a Detroit
engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it been produced. (This method is coming from Mr. Hasse. I
used to combine the warranty for each year and use those numbers in calculation.)
The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154,

Selfhood In Don Juan
(Lauber) This shows the idea of selfhood for Lord Byron. He went against the grain and created
something nobody before him had. Although going against the grain can barely put it into perspective
when destroying the epic form is the chosen way to describe it. Due to the nature of the poem, some
readers may not have been ready for a poem quite like this. This meant that at the time of publication,
Don Juan was met with a lot of outrage. Or as Andrew Elfenbein put it, scandalised anger. Due to the
poems rumoured lack of copyright, it famously lead to an abundance of pirated copies and imitations.
Some nineteenth century commentators predicted that Byron s work would go on to be unread after
his death. Don Juan was connected to the emergence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Byron, like most Romantic era authors, was very unpredictable and opinionated in all of his writings.
From the hatred of his upbringing, to the love of adventure, and also to the love of meaningless
relationships with various women were majorly influenced and illustrated through all of his works and
especially in Don Juan. Yet he still managed to infiltrate his poems with charm, romance, and heroism.
Byron was a perfect fit for the Romantic Period and his poems and he was therefore known as a great
contributor towards the era. Many of the Romantic writers were passionate authors that were never
once afraid to share their opinion. From its beginning, in circa A.D. 1780, the majority of the writers
used their literary works to attempt to influence the readers, or at least make their voice heard. A
writer who some would argue have not received nearly enough credit for his works is George Gordon.
This man would later become known to us as Lord Byron. This is the man who is known as the writer
his own poetical version of Don Juan. Don Juan is a man who is known for being able to arouse the
desires of women and to love everyone he meets. This Don Juan can be viewed, however, as a
delibrettly written and loosely disguised biography of

Long-Term Effects Of Bullying
Bullying has occurred throughout the entire history of schools. The effects of bullying can impact you
and your peers. It can also affect everyone around you, including your parents, teachers, and those
who you probably don t even know. Bullying comes in many forms as well. Some examples that
connects to bullying is cyber bullying, verbal bullying, physical bullying, social bullying, and sexual
bullying.
Studies show that kids that are being bullied tend to have trouble sleeping, suffer from depression, and
anxiety. The long terms effects of bullying will scar one emotionally and physically. It will also last
throughout his or her entire life. Most people should be aware that anything that s posted on the web

Physical bullying is when a bully deflects physical attacks on the victim. They would either beat their
victim, shove them, trip them, push them, and a whole lot more that involves physical force. Social
bullying is when a bully uses their connections around his or her friend circle to hurt the victim
without getting their hands dirty. How this works is that a bully who is no longer friends with you
victim being spread fake rumors and try to convince everyone turn their back on the you. Sexual
bullying when your gender is being used to inflict pain to another person or you personally. Sexual
bullying and sexual harassment are similar to each other, but different. It is a performance in which,
you degrade someone. It can either be by physical violence, or mistreating someone because of their
appearance. A survey that was issued at the UK National Union of Teachers shows that sexual
bullying involves boys bullying girls. The survey also shows that girls do harass other girls and there
some incidents where girls harass boys in a sexual manner do occurs but very rarely. Their findings
showed that 45% of teenage girls have had their bottom or

Zoroastrianism s Influence On The Formation Of Christianity
Zoroastrianism was a huge influence on the formation of Christianity. There are multiple links
between the two religions while Zoroastrianism pre dates Christianity by hundreds of years. The
evidence found through archaeological discovery and from the beliefs of present day Zoroastrianists
points to one conclusion: that although Christianity and Zoroastrianism are seen as two very different
religions, their cosmologies are so intertwined that is hard to tell which came first until looking at the
physical evidence. The core beliefs are similar and how each religion predicts what will happen at the
end of time are, as well. For some Christians, it hard to look at the evidence without it shaking their
beliefs, but by taking an outsider s perspective, one can begin see that religions are evolving
throughout the millennia. Three main topics arise when comparing the two religions: the creation
story, the story of the savior, and the revelation story. The relationships between these two religions
shows that religions may not only be divinely inspired, but also inspired from past religions. This
gives people the idea that faith evolves through the ages to better suit the current culture or state of
society.
Creation is seen in Christianity as a sacred story that explains not how, but why people exist in this
universe. Depending on the sect of Christianity, it is taken literally, or it is seen as a story that teaches
the lesson of their god s great love for mankind. Christians

When congress passed the gender equality law known as Title IX (1972) more than 40 years ago, no one expected it to make colleges responsible for handling sexual assault. Title IX was a stealth law aimed at helping women get through the doors of higher education and is now being interpreted to require colleges to investigate and resolve students reports of rape, determining whether their classmates are responsible for assault and, if so, what the punishment should be. These roundtables are the next step in our in depth look at the practices our campus communities have in place to protect students and bring perpetrators to justice and how we can fix, strengthen and enforce them, said McCaskill, a former courtroom prosecutor of sex crimes. It s clear we have a lot of work to do to tackle the systemic issues that prevent victims from reporting these crimes, that prevent schools from effectively protecting these survivors, and prevent clear and proper enforcement of federal law. These meetings will help us understand, from those who know best, what more we can do for students, administrators, and law enforcement to give them the tools they need to curb this epidemic. (McCaskill, Paragraph 4) With all of this happening many procedures have been suggested and are all getting tested out. The consequences of sexual assault are potentially very serious. • 5. Responsibility In John Steinbeck s Cannery Row Often times, individuals use the phrase set your priorities straight to indicate they need a realignment on what is valued more. An individual s priorities vary, depending on one s values. Some put their individual values before others ; while some give others priorities more value than their own. Authors occasionally engrave this moral into their novels to leave an impact in the reader s lives. John Steinbeck s Cannery Row tells a story of Mack and the boys, who want to show their appreciation for Doc by throwing him a surprise party at the comfort of his home. • 6. The Colonization Of Africa Is A Significant Reason Why The... The colonization of Africa is a significant reason why the educational system in Africa is split between the countries it holds. Between the late 1800s and early 1900s Africa faced many military annexations and diplomatic conquests. The impact of colonialism has influenced the conflicts in Liberia that happened in the late 1900s. Liberia s civil wars held a responsibility for the devastation that is implicated in its racial stance. Social Darwinism gave support for the superior rule over Africa. Liberia s conflicts play a notable role in how westernization of education and race are viewed throughout Africa. Liberia s education system emerged because of these conflicts. Colonizing Africa began between the 1870s 1900. An important tragedy of colonization is the stripping of ethnicities. Modern Africa is a product of European imperialism, not African heritage and tradition. Once the profits of the slave trade collapsed, because of its abolition, European markets were looking for ways to keep a steady way to make profits. Traditionally, Africa had been divided into groups by tribe, family, clan and lineage. During the process of colonization these characteristics were social, economic and political. Colonial state formation caused new values, institutions and operational principles to take place. The African colonization required the taking of territories that were unknown to the political world. The old views on who would run each group were diminished by the new rulers ... • 8. The Finches From The Galapagos Island Change is the key factor in a species survival, whether that change, is being minimal or extremely dramatic, and without change a species have condemned itself to extinction. Animals have learned to adapt to their surroundings in order to survive, and with these adaptation people can witness new breeds added to the spectrum and see them flourish. Breeds can be defined as a stock of animals or plants within a species having a distinctive appearance and typically having been developed by deliberate selection. For example the finches from the Galapagos Island s they are all finches, but they all differed in their appearance, some had smaller others had larger beaks. Charles Darwin studied these Finches and came to discover that the Finches differed in appearance because they had adapted to their environment. The Galápagos finches provide an excellent example of this process. Among the birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus obtained supplementary food. As a result, they were in healthier condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak shapes that were well suited in getting nectar from flowers or eating thicker shielded seeds in other environments were at an advantage there. In a very real sense, nature selected the best adapted varieties to survive and to reproduce. Victor was shocked to see that his creation lacked basic human qualities and had an unappealing appearance. Brode and Rick Groen, a reviewer for The Globe and Mail Review, thought it was a sexual thriller with overtones of homosexual attraction. From a visual perspective, the film is captivating, especially the love scene between Othello and Desdemona. To say that this is based on the O.J Simpson trial is perplexing. Although Parker does selectively reduce the dialogue from Shakespeare s play, all that has been selectively captured and included from the play, is straight out of the play. Although there is no basis between the film and the O.J Simpson trial the commonality between the true is that they both invite the audience to look and think about how conscious we are about the issues of race within society. The numbering system was written vertically instead of horizontally like the one we use today. The base level can be represented by 20^0, and each additional level increases the exponent by one. This is shown in the graphic below. The Mayan calendar has a starting date of 3113BC that is given the year 0. It used their base 20 numbering system to represent periods of time. There ... • 39. Choosing Adoption Instead Of Abortion Hailey I. Bell Mr. Steven Harris Freshman Honors English 05 February 2015 Choosing Adoption Instead of Abortion The National Adoption Center stated, There are no unwanted children. Just unfound families. This quote shows the positive outlook that adoption agencies portray. When a parent chooses not to keep custody of a child, the child then becomes available for other parents to adopt them. Once adopted the child has an opportunity to have a regular life with people who will love and provide for them. If that adult had chosen to not keep the child, then they wouldn t have had a chance to become an adult or even be born. The option of adoption should be used to replace abortion. Abortion is way stop your pregnancy. A study at Guttmacher Institute has shown statistics about mothers who have abortions. 56% are unmarried, 61% already have children, and 58% are in their 20 s. 21% of all unplanned pregnancies end in abortion (Abortion in the United States). The Guttmacher Institute study states, 69% are economically challenged, and 73% report religious affiliation. 4 in 10 unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. These stats show the way that unexpected pregnancies are dealt with. Adoption has evolved into a wonderful option. • 40. Analyzing Seamus Heaney s Blackberry-Picking The poem Blackberry Picking is about a young man s coming of age, and how the lesson he learns, about picking blackberries, relates to the human realization that reality is not always how we want it to be. Seamus Heaney illustrates this lesson by showing the narrator s unabiding desire for the blackberries when he speaks of the lust for picking and how he was willing to go out in the fields to pick the blackberries despite having to go where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots in obvious discomfort (7 8,10). Furthermore, after the blackberries had turned bad the narrator clearly tells us, each year I hoped they d keep, knew they would not (24). This final bit at the end shows how the narrator matures and has come to accept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first thing that is noticeable about the way Seamus wrote this poem is his use of rhyme or lack thereof. He uses slant rhymes throughout most of the poem an example being sun and ripen on lines one and two. This could be interpreted to portray how the speaker feels. The speaker wants the blackberries to stay sweet despite his experience picking blackberries that would always end up rotting. At the same time, the slant rhymes are so close to rhyming, but never fully do creating a bittersweet feeling that symbolizes how the speaker loves the blackberries, but how he hates how they rot. In the text this is reinforced when he says, I always felt like crying. It wasn t fair (22). Another example of Seamus creating this bittersweet tone in the poem is how he uses iambic pentameter throughout most of the poem, but similar to how the slant rhymes don t quite work, on every couple of lines he breaks the meter and adds an extra syllable. This feeling is continued throughout the poem until the second stanza when Seamus starts to correct these things. He does this by starting to write in true iambic pentameter except for one time on line 21 when sour adds two extra syllables sustaining the rhythm he built up, but still adding emphasis to the word sour. Seamus connects the bitter sweet or sour tone to a line that is out of place. Eventually, the poem is exactly what it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Strand uses enjambment and the use of free verse in Keeping Things Whole to convey the meaning of isolation and absence. One poetic device used in Keeping Things Whole is enjambment. This is when a phrase is continued without a pause at the end of a line. One example of enjambment in Keeping Things Whole is the phrase I am the absence / of field (lines 2 3). I will decide whether run the project or not. Six issues will be discussed as follows 1) importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3) cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5) evaluation 6) accept or reject. We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will gain $532 million in wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The company has a bond rating of AA that makes the risk relatively low. So we should definitely say yes. Issues Importance of Energy Cost Road King Trucks, Inc. is a truck manufacturing company. If we don t run the project, we can sell it and earn $6 million right now. Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate of return to be higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk and overall capital structure of the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it presents how much the company pays for the capital it finances. In this case, the cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated WACC using those numbers and got a result of 8.49%. Choose an Engine (see table 3) There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the warranties. The decision should be made according to engines quality, effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is the main factor. In this case, Detroit engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of $1,000 each year for 5 years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the warranty is $1,500 per year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20 years. The NPVs of the warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced. For example, the warranty of a Detroit engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it been produced. (This method is coming from Mr. Hasse. I used to combine the warranty for each year and use those numbers in calculation.) The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Selfhood In Don Juan (Lauber) This shows the idea of selfhood for Lord Byron. He went against the grain and created something nobody before him had. Although going against the grain can barely put it into perspective when destroying the epic form is the chosen way to describe it. Due to the nature of the poem, some readers may not have been ready for a poem quite like this. This meant that at the time of publication, Don Juan was met with a lot of outrage. Or as Andrew Elfenbein put it, scandalised anger. Due to the poems rumoured lack of copyright, it famously lead to an abundance of pirated copies and imitations. Some nineteenth century commentators predicted that Byron s work would go on to be unread after his death. Don Juan was connected to the emergence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the hatred of his upbringing, to the love of adventure, and also to the love of meaningless relationships with various women were majorly influenced and illustrated through all of his works and especially in Don Juan. Yet he still managed to infiltrate his poems with charm, romance, and heroism. Byron was a perfect fit for the Romantic Period and his poems and he was therefore known as a great contributor towards the era. Many of the Romantic writers were passionate authors that were never once afraid to share their opinion. From its beginning, in circa A.D. 1780, the majority of the writers used their literary works to attempt to influence the readers, or at least make their voice heard. A writer who some would argue have not received nearly enough credit for his works is George Gordon. This man would later become known to us as Lord Byron. This is the man who is known as the writer his own poetical version of Don Juan. Don Juan is a man who is known for being able to arouse the desires of women and to love everyone he meets. • 47. Zoroastrianism s Influence On The Formation Of Christianity Zoroastrianism was a huge influence on the formation of Christianity. There are multiple links between the two religions while Zoroastrianism pre dates Christianity by hundreds of years. The evidence found through archaeological discovery and from the beliefs of present day Zoroastrianists points to one conclusion: that although Christianity and Zoroastrianism are seen as two very different religions, their cosmologies are so intertwined that is hard to tell which came first until looking at the physical evidence. The core beliefs are similar and how each religion predicts what will happen at the end of time are, as well. For some Christians, it hard to look at the evidence without it shaking their beliefs, but by taking an outsider s perspective, one can begin see that religions are evolving throughout the millennia. Three main topics arise when comparing the two religions: the creation story, the story of the savior, and the revelation story. The relationships between these two religions shows that religions may not only be divinely inspired, but also inspired from past religions. This gives people the idea that faith evolves through the ages to better suit the current culture or state of society. Creation is seen in Christianity as a sacred story that explains not how, but why people exist in this universe. Depending on the sect of Christianity, it is taken literally, or it is seen as a story that teaches the lesson of their god s great love for mankind. Christians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
