The Singer Solution To World Poverty Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "The Singer Solution to World Poverty" can be a challenging
endeavor. The complexity arises from the need to delve into thought-provoking ethical questions
posed by Peter Singer, while also addressing the multifaceted nature of global poverty. The task
requires a deep understanding of Singer's argument, which advocates for individuals to donate a
significant portion of their income to alleviate poverty.
To write a compelling essay, one must grapple with ethical dilemmas surrounding individual
responsibility and the collective effort needed to combat poverty. The essay should navigate
through philosophical discussions on utilitarianism and ethical obligations, while also considering
counterarguments and alternative perspectives.
Moreover, the writer needs to strike a balance between presenting Singer's perspective accurately
and critically analyzing its implications. This involves addressing potential objections,
acknowledging the complexity of poverty-related issues, and exploring the practicality of
implementing Singer's solution on a global scale.
The difficulty further intensifies as the essay requires a nuanced approach, combining moral
reasoning with a deep understanding of economic and sociopolitical factors contributing to
global poverty. The writer must engage with real-world examples and statistics to support their
arguments, adding another layer of complexity to the research process.
In conclusion, tackling the essay on "The Singer Solution to World Poverty" demands a careful
synthesis of ethical theories, critical analysis, and a comprehensive understanding of global
socioeconomic issues. Successfully navigating these complexities will result in an essay that not
only reflects the essence of Singer's argument but also contributes to a meaningful discussion on
addressing world poverty.

The Republic Of Plato s Republic
Though we ve discussed many kinds of governments, ideal cities and even ideal
rulers over the course of the semester, from Aristotle s Politics to the city described
in the Melian dialogue, there is one that undoubtedly left a greater on me than the
other the city described in Plato s Republic. From Platos remarkably feminist ideals
and vague sense of barebones socialism, there s a lot in this citythat I hypothetically
would throw my support behind. This is not to say that I think that this is the best
option of the cities that we studied options, or even that it would even work if
applied to real life. However, the ideas brought up about how to create this city and
what would be required of all it s citizens in order to make it work are undeniably
fascinating and are never black or white. But what I love about the Republic, and why
it so personally resonates with and has impacted me, is that it brings up interesting
questions about morality and how far one should go in order to create a perceived
perfect society . Questions that there is no easy answer to.
First and foremost, I want to talk about Plato s ideas of specialization and what it
entails. In the book, Before Socrates has begun building his perfect city, he is asked
what Justice is. A long conversation and debate ensues where finally Socrates
essentially says that justice is filling out your role in society. This turns out to be a
pillar in the society he will create, seeing as his ideal city is dependent
A Very Brief Look at Spain
Spain
Spain also know as kingdom of spain is a soverign state, and is a part of the rest of
the European countries. Spain is designated in the southwestern Europe on the
Iberia peninsula, and also boarders the mederterranina sea. Spains capital is Madrid.
Spain has had its ups and downs throught out their time period , but one thing you
will notice is it always seems to flourish n the end. Does spains background really
make it what it is today? Spain went through so many trial times that it might seem
as if they would never succeed, but low and behold they did persevere. Does spains
global issues really make a difference in its success? There are so many aspects of
spain, but only the background, government, and success of spain matter. So, where
does spain stand as of today? We will explore, and express all of these subject in
spain just to find the conclusion and figure out spains postion in the world.
Spains background goes on for a very long time starting with Celtics, Iberians, and
Basques. They then became under the rule of Rome, but did not succed to stay there.
Smaller Christian kingdoms gradually started to take control of the peninsula. Wars
had began to start and it eventually led to no one leading the country suceessfully.
Once napoleon invaded spain this led to people wanting their indepednce. This
movement left the country politically in shambles because everyone was trying to
fight against their own country. Oce that settled spain had a civil war that
Describe The Number Of Protons And Nuetrons
The copper atom is constructed from three kinds of particles: protons, neutrons, and
electrons. The protons and neutrons are located in a very small spherical volume at
the exact center of the atom called the nucleus. Protons have a +1 charge, and
nuetrons have no charge, so the nucleus has an overall positive charge. The electrons,
which have a 1 charge, are located in a relatively large spherical volume around and
centered on the nucleus.
The nucleus of all copper atoms contains exactly 29 protons. However, atoms with
two different numbers of neutrons, called isotopes, are to be constructed. One
isotope contains 34 neutrons (copper 63) and the other isotope contains 36 neutrons
(copper 65). For every 100 atoms made, there are 69 copper 63 atoms and 31 copper
65 atoms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These electrons, as is the case with the electrons of all atoms, are arranged in a
series of shells and subshells. Copper atoms may be described by the symbolic
notation, 1s22s22p63s23p64s23d9, where each leading number denotes the shell,
the lower case letter denotes the subshell, and the superscript specifies the number
of electrons in the subshell. Within the s , p , and d subshells, there are 1, 3, and 5
orbitals respectively. Each orbital may contain a maximum of 2 electrons. Thus, all
orbitals in all the subshells occupied by electrons in the copper atom are full except
for one orbital in the d subshell in the third shell that has just one electron in it. Note
that the highest shell containing electrons in the copper atom is the fourth

Abraham Lincoln Accomplishments
Abraham Lincoln Alfons Jerred Who was the greatest president in your eyes? I
believe that Abraham Lincoln was our greatest president. He had so many
achievements in his short term of presidency. Mostly everyone liked him not
everyone because of course everyone always has something negative to say about
someone. Lincoln is considered a hero, he is considered a hero because of his
impact on the nation. Everyone said that he was a very reliable man. The
nickname people had for him was honest Abe because they all trusted him. In old
pictures you always see him being kind to everyone. In almost every picture you
see he is talking to someone and looks very happy. Lincoln was the 16th president,
that was one of his major accomplishments who wouldn t want to be president.

Getting to Know Asteroids
Asteroids are a very fascinating part of our solar system. Asteroids are classified as
small airless rocky worlds revolving around the sun. Since asteroids are too small,
they have not been called planets during the time of their existence. The larger
asteroids are known as planetoids or minor planets. Asteroids as a whole, their mass
does not even come close to the mass of the Earths moon. This could be a reason
why they have not been known as planets. Although asteroids can be seen in any part
of our galaxy, most of them reside in the area between Mars and Jupiter. In this are
between Mars and Jupiter, you can find close to 200 hundred asteroids larger than
60 miles in diameter. This may not seem like a lot, but that to me seems like a large
abundance of asteroids to be kept together in one place at one time. As we have
learned in class, asteroids are leftovers from the formation of our solar systemabout
4.6 billion years ago. This to me is eye opening, because with all of these asteroids
floating around in our solar system, very rarely do you hear of an incident where an
asteroid hits earth. This could also be because of the gravitational pull in space, which
can keep the asteroids away. NASA does a very good job of keeping track of these
asteroids, and can keep a close eye on any attack that can be happening. As I will
explain later in the future endeavors category, NASA is in the process of using an
asteroid as a defense mechanism, and also for reasons of easily
Music Community
As of recently, the music scene has become a less than ideal community to be a part
of. The community that I have grown to know and love is everyone respecting
everyone. It was a place where people could find new music, talk about music, write
music, share music, etc. Now, though, after observing some things from afar without
getting engaged, I have been noticing a lot of things that are absolutely not what
musicis or should be about. For the longest time, I have been noticing some
behaviors that should absolutely not be a part of something that is supposed to be
almost a safe space for many. One of the more noticeable examples of these
behaviors are people who act all high and mighty about what music they listen to and
what they like as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a reason that we don t see many Nickelback fans discussing their music and
shows. That s because the media and the internet has bullied Nickelback and their
fans basically off the face of the earth. It has gotten so bad that now the US Army
has banned the playing of Nickelback and other terrible rock groups that also
included Korn, Smashmouth, Slipknot, and Creed, just for shits and giggles.
Roughly three months ago, a Canadian police force threatened to subject drunk
drivers to the band s music as punishment and one month later, Facebook released a
promotional video that states that there ...are no good Nickelback songs. . Is that
how we are supposed to treat things that we don t like? People tend to forget that
these bands are, believe it or not, people. They are people who have feelings and
access to the internet where they can and do see these things being said about them.
This is not what being a music fan is about. Shitting on others because they like

The Pros And Cons Of Barack Obama
It s in our nature to make snap connections at the mere mention of a word or idea
mention apple, and someone might respond instantly with orange. Likewise,
mention the Democratic Party of the U.S. and most people will immediately begin
to imagine someone resembling the same spirit and character as the person they
believe to represent it a person who consistently champions for the rights of the less
advantaged (that is to say, citizens living below the poverty line and citizens who
still face discrimination in daily life) and strives for the better progress of a nation
(like raising minimum wage and increasing jobs). For me, one such person is Barack
Obama. Due to his unwavering and diplomatic nature, I believe Barack Obama
represents a true Democrat.
Unfortunately, there are some who would argue against this claim Richard Epstein,
winner of the Bradley Prize (2011) and a senior lecturer at Chicago University, states
that vision and skills are not always doled out in equal measure, and [Obama s] lack
of the latter made him unfit to choose the proper means for meeting the challenges he
set out for himself. Epstein s claims are not without merit, of course, though it would

Model of Justice in Plato s The Republic Essay
Model of Justice in Plato s The Republic
In what is perhaps his most well known text, The Republic, Plato explores the
fundamental concept of justice, how it is observed in the world, and its application
to the lives of men. When he identifies the good in Book VI, which is reality and
knowledge in their true forms, Plato also describes the visual world of shadows and
false reality that people perceive and is cast by the sun. What follows from these
definitions is that, while justice is a concept that exists autonomously from injustice
and other fleeting conditions, injustice requires justice to be a medium for it to exist,
develop, and spread itself.
While it might be intuitive to a person that there is a ... Show more content on

Though the whole of The Republic is an investigation of what justice is, the
relationship between it and justice is derived from the virtue of sophrosyne. This
quality of moderation and balance in a person is what Plato considers essential to the
just man. He explains, The reality is that justice is not a matter of external behavior
but the way a man privately and truly governs his inner self. The just man does not
permit the various parts of his soul to interfere with one another or usurp each other s
functions. He has set his own life in order. (Plato, 137) That which is good withstands
external pressures so that its essential quality is unchanged. Similarly, the just man is
identified not by that which we visually observe about him, but the integrity of his
internal composure. We have determined, therefore, that it is what is good about the
just man that makes him just. Having established this point about the just person, it is
sensible to consider the conditions under which a person becomes unjust.
The development of injustice in the individual occurs when we do not have the
internal balance that is indicative of a just person, but rather are excessive in some
aspect of our psychology. Our psychology is based on three aspects of the soul
which determine how a person will think and behave. Plato explains, ...[T]he soul is
composed of at least two distinct parts. One is the reasoning part. The other
Is Cheating Ethically Wrong
Cheating is a form of academic dishonesty, whereby the cheater has an unfair
advantage over other students. According to utilitarianism and virtue ethics theories,
cheating is morally wrong. From a utilitarian perspective (the ends justify the means),
the cheating students may be happy with their resultant higher grades, but the
majority non cheatingstudents would not be happy, especially if there is a grading
curve involved. Virtue ethicsvalues qualities like integrity, honesty and fairness
while avoiding vices like greed and selfishness. If cheating were allowed to go
unnoticed, it would create a greed driven society in which cheating is a quick way
to profit. In addition, I should not assist my friends in cheating as not only does it
make me a cheater as well, it does not benefit me at all, since I have already
completed my test. Helping out would only be disadvantageous to my own grades....

Virtue ethics supports the idea of reporting the cheating students because not doing so
would mean disregarding dishonesty, and making me an immoral person. However,
the answer may be less clear when it comes to utilitarianism. The cheater could be
severely punished for their acts and feel incredibly unhappy if reported, and I may
feel bad about tattling. On the other hand, it could also make the cheater a better
person, and benefiting the entire class by more fairly representing the grade
distribution. Furthermore, turning a blind eye to acts of cheating would not benefit
the school s reputation and society in the long run. Good grades obtained by cheating
do not accurately reflect the student s abilities and knowledge. Their future clients
/students/patients could suffer for their areas of incompetence because their

The Effect Of Glucose On The Formation Of Furanoid...
Glucose D glucopyranose or, more commonly, D glucose is an aldohexose, a
reducing sugar and a component of sucrose, lactose, cellulose, and starch; the latter
is typically used as the primary material for the commercial production of glucose
via enzymatic hydrolysis (de Wit et al. 1993). Glucose is the primary component for
the manufacture of alkyl polyglucosides, D glucitol, gluconic acid, and high fructose
corn syrup; in fact, D glucosecan undergo a fermentation process to produce L
ascorbic acid, from D glucitol, as well as polyesters, polyurethanes, and alkyd and
melamine resins. Moreover, D glucose can form pyranoid, furnaoid, and acyclic
tautomers (Lichtenthaler and Peters 2004). This tautomeric form must be fixed to
help facilitate subsequent reactions such for the formation of furanoid diacetonide,
acyclic dithio acetal, pyranoid structures, in glucosidic forms, and glucal or
hydroxyglucal esters. Furthermore, an acetylacetone reaction with D glucose, with
intercession from ZnCl¬¬2, forms highly substituted furan derivatives. Since only
the first two D glucose carbons participate in the furan formation, a hydrophilic
tetrahydroxybutyl side chain also forms, which can be oxidized to yield a selection
of furanic building blocks. In comparison, D glucose can react with pentane 2,4
dione, in a moderately basic environment, to cause carbon addition, followed by a
retroaldol style elimination of acetate. Considering that this reaction uses simple
reagents in an

When the economy is strong, companies can lapse into sloppy cash management
practices (Jill Andresky Fraser, 1998). Two types of sweep accounts are available for
the decision of the fees that can be charged. Controlled investment accounts are more
profitable of the sweep accounts, maintaining enough funds to cover checks while the
other funds are placed into overnight investments. End of day sweep accounts are
safer for the small business owners, but offer a late hour cutoff with controlled
investments. When the firm has excess cash, it will invest in marketable securities,
and when it needs cash for current assets, it will usually either sell marketable
securities or borrow funds from short term leaders (Block, Stanley B., 2005). Short

Electronic Dance Music Analysis
Joo developed an early interest in music shortly after her mother put her through
piano lessons at the age of 5. She started performing vocally since elementary school
and continued to hone her skills throughout high school. As a sophomore in high
school, she advanced from an intermediate choir group to the chamber choir group
within one semester. During her junior year of high school, she sang the National
Anthem in before her high school football games.
During that time period, she developed an interest in techno and electronic music.
Growing up, she listened to major Electronic Dance Music producers such as
Crystal Method, Darue and Tiesto. At the age of 18 years old, she watched her first
EDM performance with Pretty Lights at the King Plow Arts Center in 2009. That
moment, she fell deeper in love with the production and performance side of
Electronic Dance Music. She was deeply intrigued by how the various technological
sounds and lights can work in conjunction to create a unique blend of set performance.
After high school, she got accepted to the University of Georgia. Like many college
students, she was indecisive about her future and career. But she always knew ...

Technology And Social Effects Of Technology On Children
Social Effect of Technology on Children Alarm clock goes off checks phone, sitting
on the bus plays games, eating dinner with the family texting friends, trying to go to
bed scrolls through social media... this has become the everlasting cycle that drives
the typical teenage kid into social destruction and retrains them from witnessing first
hand experiences of the real world. As the new generation becomes teenagers, we
can see the social development and can research how our technological age has
affected them. The easy and typical solution can be shown to cause everlasting
consequences and needs to be redirected towards a moderate perspective for
educational purposes. We will draw ideas from American Psychological Association,
International Journal of Technology, behavioral scientists, and parents to compare
the facts and logic behind the effect of technology on children and the solution to
the problem. First, we need to view the nation s children as a whole to lay the
foundation to the problem that arises. About 75% of children from ages eight to ten
have their own smartphone as of 2016 and the percentage has exponentially
increased since (Kids Wireless). The effects of smartphones on these children have
become prevalent to the everyday person. While walking around the mall or going to
a restaurant with your family, it has become impossible to ignore the fact that kids
have their faces stuck in front of the screen. In class, teachers are constantly berating

1.According to Dr. Hoppin, what does it take to do a good review of an original
scientific article (6 points)?
Dr. Hoppin discussed four main responsibilities in guiding reviewer in the
reviewing process of scientific paper. When reviewing a scientific article, the role
of reviewers is to shear their experience, knowledge, time and provide constructive
criticisms and suggestions. The reviewer has to be motivated by providing
suggestions for improving the article to be more educational, informative and useful
for clinical practice. Also, a good review of a scientific paper requires from the
reviewer to be scientific expertise which include awareness and a mastery of the
scientific literature. This process needs from the reviewer to has experience and
personal background. If the scientific article outside the reviewer expertise; he/she
should refuse to review the scientific paper. Moreover, according to Dr. Hoppin, the
reviewer needs to have helpful attitude. He/she should seek to be respectful,
positive, patient and objective when offering comments and suggestion to authors to
improve the scientific article. The reviewer role is to consult and advice not to
judge. In addition, before reviewing an article, the reviewer needs to schedule
enough time and attention to review the paper before the deadline. The reviewer s
level of experience, length of article and complexity of paper can affect the amount
of time required to complete specific task. {{370}}

Realistic Fiction Analysis
Have you ever been in a difficult situation where you have to confess, and tell the
truth and nothing but the truth. In the story Red kayak Ben DiAngelo and Mrs.
DiAngelo, (Ben s mother), go out kayaking in their red kayak. But it just so happens
that Digger ( a kid that hates their guts for buying his grandfather s farm and changing
up the whole area) drills holes through their kayak and they sink. Ben ends up dying
but his mother makes it through. Later on the main characterBrady, (who baby sat for
Ben DiAngelo, and went out to save him and he still died) found out that his two best
friends J.T. and Digger were involved in the terrible event/crime, and he had a hard
time telling the truth throughout the novelbecause he was to afraid to turn them in.
Realistic fictionis a genre where a novel or story has events that could happen in real
life. In order for a story to be considered realistic fiction, it should include the
elements of realistic fiction. For example authentic characters are characters that are
convincingly developed, multi dimensional, and show growth over time. Credible
events are conflicts or problems that could occur in the real world. Real settings are
settings that are vividly portrayed and that could exist in the real world. True to life
themes are memorable themes that could be applied to one s own life. The last
element a realistic fictional story should include is believable dialogue. Believable
dialogue contains realistic conversations that help

The Emotional And Physical Burdens During The Vietnam
War
Jimmy Cross: the Emotional and Physical Burdens in the Vietnam War
War has fascinated since the beginning of time for what they reveal about the human
condition in its worst squalor as in its greatness. Maybe Vietnam is best seen through
a shattered helicopter windshield. Chickenhawk is one bloody, painfully honest, and
courageous book , recognizes Martin Cruz Smith. Chickenhawk is Robert Mason s
narrative of personal experience which deals chronologically with his training in
Vietnam. Through this description of war, Mason distinguishes the physical part of
war and the psychological phase. He also demonstrates that the expressive aspect
controls the physical. Consequently, this indication has remained intact. Tim O Brien
in his fictional story The Things They Carried, voices the idea that the psychological
burdens overshadow the physical pain that the soldiers must carry: They carried all
the emotional baggage of men who might die. Grief, terror, love, longing these were
intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had
tangible weight (O Brien 926). O Brien claims that horror, longing, responsibility, and
uncertainty that the soldiers experience outweigh the physical agony that they must
resist to survive, loads that are lightened only a little by the willing to return home.
The weight of mental burden that probably weighs the most on the hearts of the men
is fear. In the forest of Vietnam, young soldiers are forced to carry

Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using a global brand name
INTRODUCTION
Nowadays the global market is quite attractive for high competition environment. In
order to be visible in global market, brands can be used to play an important role.
From marketing point of view, brands are the means that consumers use to distinguish
products and services based on essential and non essential attributes and they are a
source of business s differential advantage.
When the company exports a product label, it has the choice between using: specific
brands in each market (local brands), or a single brand for all its foreign markets
(global brand).
The decision between these two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can pass the costs of R amp; D and production costs over a larger volume of
production and thereby reduce the unit cost total. The global scale permits huge
economies as the benefits of scale taken from the experience in one market are
developed in others.
They also provide opportunities for economies of scale in advertising, distribution,
and product design. Geoffrey Randall argues that what the marketing people must do
is ensure that cost savings (in whatever area), do not damage the brand.
This reduction of costs is conversely related to the fact that the firm will no longer
have to spend much of their time in launching their products or services. The reason
behind this is the fact that the global name of the company had already established its
name in the market.
For example, the agency of communication, Mc Erickson has saved $ 90 million in
production costs to Coca Cola in the past 20 years thanks to the realization of world
movie.

short, it acts as a summary of information, quality
Surviving Species Environments
When you think of survival of the fittest, you may be wrong. If you think about it
as more of survival of the best adapted to a species environment. Now this can be
used with a few following examples; a species will not be able to survive if it is the
strongest of its kind if the area it lives in is cold. The specimen with the warm fur
coat will outlast the physically strong. Now this can work the other way as well the
specimen with the fur coat may not be able to defend its self from the predators if it
is not the most physically fit specimen. The end result if the speciesdoes not adapt to
the new surroundings it will eventually die out and become extinct, leaving the one
specimen who has now passed on the fur coat to survive in the cold
Congenital Heart Defects
Congenital abnormalities have become the main cause of heart disease among
children especially in developing countries including Palestine state. Congenital heart
disease is the most frequent form of congenital anomaly in newborn infants, and
accounts for more than a quarter of all serious congenital anomalies worldwide.
Generally, an estimated incidence of eight cases of congenital heartdisease per 1000
live births is internationally accepted as the best approximation. The causes of most
congenital heart defects are not known. (Zaqout, Aslem, Oweida, Al Kahlout, Al
Barqouni, and De Wolf, 2013) About 3 million fetuses and infants are born each year
with major congenital anomaly worldwide. (WHO, 2012) A study

Originally, the company Conceptus manufactured the Essure Permanent Birth
Control System, which was first approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) on Nov. 4, 2002. In 2013, Bayer purchased Conceptus and the
companies merged. According to Bayer, more than 750,000 women use this birth

residing within the U.S.
The Essure Medical Device
The Essure Medical Device consists of flexible coils that are non surgically placed
within the Fallopian tubes. This device is a permanent form of birth control.
Essure s flexible coils are inserted through the vagina, past the cervix and into the
Fallopian tubes. Once inserted, the device causes a build up of the tissue within the
Fallopian tubes. Over a period of approximately three months, this tissue blocks the
Fallopian tubes; thus, preventing the sperm from traveling through them to fertilize
an egg.
Three months following insertion, a radiologist checks to make sure that the
Fallopian tubes are blocked. Directly before the x ray is taken, a contrast dye is
injected through the patient s cervix to ensure that there is no leakage of dye past the

that I believe are the most important. I will then choose one of the Ancient Chinese

Gunpowder has changed the world, it is the basis for almost every weapon used in
war from the time it was invented, it has made warfare very different and affected
the way battles were and are fought, it is used as an explosive and has aided in the
development of the modern world by making it easier to move mountains for
development. The compass has spurred travel all around the world by allowing
vessels to sail the sea and plains to fly across oceans, I question if we would have
the global trade we have today if the compass was never invented. Row planting
was a better way to plant, grow and harvest crops and has allowed mankind to farm
more efficiently. Iron and steel smelting has allowed man to build bridges and
structures that allow for easier travel and commerce. All four of these
contributions have influenced the world we live in today and will continue to
influence the future of our planet. As for me, the one invention I can t live without
is the mechanical clock. I have a strong need to know the time and be on time
when I am traveling or have to be somewhere. I can t stand to be late so if the
mechanical clock had never been invented we would have watches or time clocks
today and this could not only put my life in turmoil, it could alter the entire world
as we know it because in some way we all depend on time. References Gill, N.S.

How Did Scotland Leave The Uk

Originally believed to have been established as far back as the year 1235, Scotland
has had its own parliament. Originally being made up of what would have been
known as a king s council which included earls, nobles and general people of wealth
and power. For centuries this parliament made decisions in Scotland over things such
as taxation, the law, justice and many other areas. This did not last forever however
as after many years the Treaty of the Union was introduced in 1707. This was
essentially the agreement between Scotland and England to establish Westminster as
the main political hub of power at Westminster in London and after the Scottish
Parliament being effectively dissolved on the 28th of April 1707 what is now known

III: Early Life:
Although he is best known for his works as a successful adult, William
Shakespeare was once a child. Www.bardweb.net states, John Shakespeare had a
remarkable run of success as a merchant, alderman, and high bailiff of Stratford,
during William s early childhood. His fortunes declined, however, in the late 1570s.
Shakespeare s family was very financially successful during most of his childhood.
This could have gave him motivation to have just as much success. William,
according to the church register, was the third of eight children in the Shakespeare
household three of whom died in childhood.(www.bardweb.net) Though he had a

pain grow through adulthood.

Increasing The Minimum Wage Essay
Increase of Minimum Wage Decreases Economic Woes An issue that has been
debating throughout centuries is whether or not America should increase the
minimum wage. This is an issue that has been arising to be relevant to pboeople all
over the nation. Researches have provided logical facts and statistics on how
increasing the minimum wagewould be the solution to America s debt. Increasing the
minimum wage has also been successful in several countries including Germany.
Studies have shown that decreasing the minimum wage is unlikely to solve any
economic woes. While when we increase the minimum wage it benefits the economy,
employment as well as dexterous people. Furthermore, increasing the minimum wage
comes with advantageous traits such as improving the economy. According to a study
from The Economist in 2016 conducted by Buttonwood states, some British
companies that voluntarily shifted to a higher living wage found that staff
absenteeism and turnover rates reduced, and productivity improved (Buttonwood).
Having a higher productivity means that the country will improve economically. One
of the most memorable historical events that America can relate to is the Great
Depression . President Franklin D. Roosevelt improved the economy by increasing
the minimum wage making the productivity rate rise showing a direct correlation. In
addition, another magazine article from Tharawat written by a staff writer, Marie
Crosse, claims, a crucial part of bringing back growth to
Ideal Parenthood In The United States
Almost all parents can mention incidents of which they fall short on their
perspective on ideal parenthood. These feelings are common while in retrospection
they analyze a moment of frustration where they taught to be somehow abusive to
their own children. In many cases they were far from being abusive and their
children from being abused. Unfortunately that s not the case for so many parents,
care givers and children in the United States today. By definition there are many
different types of abuse that children might fall victims of. Some types of abuse
include verbal abuse, neglect, and physical abuse. Among the mentioned abusive
behaviors some children suffer a combination of two or more types of abuse. For
example children that are verbally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also a problem of ignorance or lack of health care. Some parents ignore the
danger that they exposed their children by not having them take their vaccinations
on time. For example, when a child is a few days old one vaccination that is
crucial is the pneumococcal vaccine. According to Dr. Katherine Poehling, an
assistant professor of pediatrics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, states
that Children between the ages of two and 23 months of age need to get the
pneumococcal disease vaccine. They benefit tremendously from it, as do younger
infants and even their grandparents. This disease is cause by Streptococcus
pneumoniae bacteria. The bacteria can cause a variety of diseases, including ear
infections, pneumonia, meningitis and the blood infection bacteremia. The more
serious disorders, such as pneumonia, meningitis and bacteremia, are often referred
to as invasive pneumococcal disease. (2006). If parents do not take notice of this
serious disease, children who suffer disorders like pneumonia will have weak lungs,
and as a result they will always be absent from school or work. Also meningitis can
cause cognitive delays. Meningitis is an inflammation of the meninges (the
membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord). It is most often caused by a viral
or bacterial infection. Bacterial meningitis may lead to brain damage, learning
disabilities,
Karl Marx Rationalism Vs Empiricism
Karl Marx dove into social issues in hope of creating an idealism that eliminated
class exploitation. Marx created his materialism of Overdetermination or Dialectical
Materialism. This brought in a whole new way to see the world in Marx s new lens,
or line of thinking. Traditionally, there have also been other lines of thinking but the
two major idealisms are Rationalism and Empiricism. Each of these idealisms gain
their beliefs in different ways. As Marx states, Culture, Nature, Political and
economic events shape one s line of thinking. This argument takes place within
Epistemology, the branch of philosophydevoted to studying the nature, sources and
limits of knowledge (Stanford). The differences between these lines of thought come
from the question how one gains knowledge. The first idealism that we will dive
into is Rationalism. Rationalism is type of thinking that is part of Epistemology,
which is the, on a basic level, the theory of knowledge. This theory is developed
based on their two main views. First, they argue that there are cases where the content
of our concepts or knowledge outstrips the information that sense experience can
provide. Second, they construct accounts of how reasonin some form or other
provides that additional information about the world (Stanford).
Rationalist gain their believes by the processes of deduction and intuition. Intuition is
a process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic
reasoning, bridging

firm very significant recognition over the years. They had earned a name for
themselves based on their reliability and high quality products, most of their sales
revenue came from satisfied repeat customers. In 2007, Chairman Albert Ting had
determined that changes needed to be made at CX Technology. He had determined
that revenue was reasonably stable, however, the rate of attaining new businesses
was not reassuring. CX was a leading supplier in cold forged components for
speakers, however, these were a commodity product, and furthermore the supply
chain was capable of possibly being consolidated. Ting needed a plan in order to
secure CX Technology s future, he needed to diversify and determine a way to
develop the business.
Despite CX Technology blossoming in the speaker production, the company needed a
contingency plan. The growth of countries like China and United States in the
technology field would lead to the CX sales revenue. CX Technology needed another
plan as an added advantage in case the company s demand reduces. This contingency
plan may include the production of new products that
Frank Romero Essay
In this image that Frank Romero made that is called Going to the Olympics I see a
lot of beautiful colors. It is very colorful and has a lot of symbols like a stamp from
the Olympics, a horse, the new years blimp, and a guy that is wrestling. All of those
symbols are from the Olympics. I also see a lot of cars in this picture and cars in Los
Angeles means either you love your car a lot and you would do anything to fix it or
there might be a lot of traffic on the freeway. Once you see the shiny red lights on the
freeway and they are not moving you know there are going to be a lot of traffic until
you get to your destination. The cars have hearts on top so it does mean a lot of
people love their cars. In Los Angeles there is a lot of palm trees. Everywhere you go
you are going to see them. You see them in the streets or there is one close by from
where you live. Los Angeles has a lot of palm trees. I feel like Romero knowss how
much we love our cars. We also use them a lot until a new car comes out that you
like. Usually my dad or mom never gets a new car. It was only once that my mom

mural was so good they just wanted to go and mess it up because they think their
art is better or their tagging is better. I also think that the only reason people be
tagging on the walls of other peoples work of art is to get attention. Like if they
want other people to see their name they would put it in famous murals so others
could see it to. The best way to save the murals is to tell other people to don t do it.
We should tell the tagger to stop or else there is going to be some serious
Examples Of Humorous Wedding Speech – Best Man
Good evening. I m Reid Mansur, best man, and I am so honored to welcome you
all to the wedding of two people with whom I am very close. Today, we are
gathered here, in Kent, England, to celebrate the matrimony of Alastair and Calliope
Andronicus. Helen Keller once said that The best and most beautiful things in the
world cannot be seen or even touched they must be felt with the heart. And today,
seeing these two come together in such a sacred ceremony, I finally understand this
quote to be true. These two wonderful people, my... (sob) best friends have finally

happiness that I never realised could exist. I know that it does only because I have

You must look at the color, the consistency, the clarity and the shape of the aura.
There are specific meanings for each of the colors of the aura which we will deal
with in a separate chapter. The primary colors have set meanings, but a
combination color such as a reddish brown would take on qualities of both colors.
And how clear and bright the color is, is very important to the interpretation,
because a bright color means something very different than a dull color. As you
learn about the colors you will also learn about where on the body the color is.
Each chakra in the body is associated with a certain color so don t be surprised to
find that color near that chakra. Colors around one area can mean one thing and
around a different area mean something completely different. When we look at a
person s aura we are looking at their true self, everything that is left after you take
away all the habits, mannerisms, the people they pretend to be, and their frivolous,
trivial behavior. Their aura shows who they truly are not the facade they show
everyone in public. In general, the more balanced the aura, the healthier and more
stabilized the person is. When taking in the whole aura you also may notice holes in
some places. This can mean an injury or sickness, in some cases that the person isn t

Essay on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.
Lewis
In C.S. Lewis s The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Lewis emphasizes the three
points of philosophy, themes, and symbolism throughout his writing. Lewis was a
strong Christian man, and wanted to make children see and understand all the stories
of the Bible. Therefore, he put Christian elements through his books, but with fantasy
characters as well. Especially in this story, Lewis conveys the differences between
good and evil. Aslanis represented as Christ just as the White Witchrepresents the
sense of evil. Lewis wrote several books in this Narniaseries, but The Lion, the Witch,
and the Wardrobe became the most famous and recognized of his novels. C.S. Lewis

In chapter 14, there is a descriptive explanation of some of the creatures that existed
in Narnia: A great crown of people were standing all round the Stone Table and
though the moon was shining, many of them carried torches which burned with
evil looking red flames and black smoke (Lewis 151). There were also ogres with
huge teeth, wolves, and bull headed men along with evil trees, and poisonous
plants. Some creatures could be described in length for the sake of the readers
(Lewis 151). Later on, one child s disloyalty to his siblings becomes a huge
problem. Aslan decides to risk his own life for the boy. All in all, good overthrows
evil, and the children become kings and queens of Narnia in the end (Langford).
Aslan proclaims: Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen. Bear it
well, Sons of Adam! Bear it well, Daughters of Eve! (Lewis 182). The point for
Lewis to write these books was as an effort to tell children the Christian stories. He
makes examples in chronological order starting with the beginning of time, moves to
the death and life of Christ, and finally the end of the world. For most people in this
time, when they heard about God or Christianity, they did not want to listen. Instead
of giving children ordinary Bible stories, he wrote adventures. He wanted them to
learn and believe, as he did, that Christianity would always be there. He filled the
books with fictional animals, and

More complex mappings are also possible, involving roles and security levels. A
typical policy consists of a mapping (labeling) file, a rule file, and an interface file,
that define the domain transition. These three files must be compiled together
with the SELinux tools to produce a single policy file. The resulting policy file can
be loaded into the kernel, making it active. Loading and unloading policies does
not require a reboot. The policy files are either hand written or can be generated
from the more user friendly SELinux management tool. They are normally tested in
permissive mode first, where violations are logged but allowed. The audit2allow
tool can be used later to produce additional rules that extend the policy to allow all
legitimate activities of the application being confined. The Security enhanced Linux s
new features are designed to enforce the separation of information based on
confidentiality and integrity requirements. They are designed for preventing
processes from reading data and programs, tampering with data and programs,
bypassing application security mechanisms, executing untrustworthy programs, or
interfering with other processes in violation of the system security policy. They also
help to confine the potential damage that can be caused by malicious or flawed
programs. They should also be useful for enabling a single system to be used by
users with differing

It s Time to Stop the Censorship Music with Explicit Lyrics
Music with explicit lyrics or content started having black and white parental
advisories on them in 1994 (http://www.riaa.org/Parents Advisory 4.cfm). Are these
labels necessary? Is controversial music molding our society and causing teenagers to
turn to drugs? Is censorship necessary to protect the youth of our nation. Generally,
younger people are against censorship on this issue. Music is an outlet and even an
anti drug for many teens; however, parents and society feel differently. Should parents
censor their children or society, many parents would like to raise their own children.
Censorship, like charity should begin at home; but unlike charity, it should end there,

It s not the labels kids look for, it s the music. Independent research shows kids put
limited weight on lyrics in deciding which music they like, caring more about rhythm
and melody. The warning label alone isn t enough incentive. (http://www.riaa.org
/Parents Advisory 4.cfm).
Censorship, like charity should begin at home; but unlike charity, it should end there,
is a quote by Clare Boothe Luce (Fitzhenry, 84). Some parents are against the
censorship of music. They believe that they should raise their kids, not some
politicians who believe one nasty word will change a whole child s future.
Many music artists have had other people attempt or succeed to sue them for their
explicit lyrics and sexual content. 2 Live Crew was one of these music groups. In
June of 1990, a Broward County judge in Florida declared that their album, As
Nasty as They Want to Be, was legally obscene. (http://www.xyno.de/) 2 Live Crew
s record was the first one in America to be deemed legally obscene although a
Georgia appeal court later overturned this decision in May of 1992 (http:/
/music.lycos.com/artist/bio.asp?QW=2+Live+Crew AN=The+2+Live+Crew
MID=66486 MH=). Some people believe that a label should be placed on albums by
artists who have explicit content in their recordings.
Others believe that the music should not be on the market for the public to access at
all. Many believe that censorship should not be allowed at all because it

Breonna has been with company for about 3 years as a customer service support
specialist. Her job is to file and assist with whatever else is needed by the customer
representatives. The organization Breonna works for is a large insurance company in
Arkansas, by the name of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Breonna is the only customer service support specialist in her department. She
services three different teams alone. One day she notices that the three different
teams has their own way of documentation retention. Documentation is retained
through either paper or electric form. A couple of weeks ago, before this class, she
asked her supervisor Ms. Jeanette, why does each team store documentation in
different ways? Jeanette instructed Breonna to come up with a documentation
procedure so everyone in this department would be on the same page.
We are moving in a moderate pace towards a more technological world. Breonna
would like to come up with a few procedures on electric documenting retention of
incoming and outgoing paperwork. ABCBS has all the tools needed. The
representatives don t know how to use them. Breonna plans on creating step by step
instructions that are not currently in place in this area. Breonna think this project is
very feasible and will be a much needed update in a department where paper is the
most popular form of communication and storing information.

Australia Japan Relationship Since Wwii
Since the signing of the 1951 peace treaty between Australia and Japan, the two
countries have rapidly built a productive relationship. Many factors and events have
contributed to the development of this partnership. The ANZUS treaty was the
turning point in the Austral Japanese relationship. It assured Australiaprotection
against Japan and provided security in the Asia Pacific region. Trade and cultural
exchange also played a significant role in shaping Australia s relationship with Japan.
Growth of trade was a contributor to the sense of a mutual interest between the two
countries. The cultural exchange often helped to recognise and accept the differences
between Australia and Japan.

Although the relationship between Australia and Japan is mainly based around the
political and economic aspects, factors such as cultural and educational exchange also
play a notable role. Japan and Australia signed a cultural agreement in 1974, which
allowed the two countries to conduct various cultural exchanges. The mutual respect
between Australia and Japan is at an all time high (Tom.W 2001:30). Knowledge of
and interest in each country s culture is strong, although it is often misunderstood. For
example, a majority of Australians tend to have difficulty recognising the
sophistication and uniqueness of the traditional Japanese art forms. Similarly,
Japanese people do not generally see beyond the vibrancy and diversity of Australian
art. Nevertheless, artistic and cultural exchange between Australia and Japan is now
more evenly balanced than ever before. Today people have more opportunities to see
artistic developments in each other s countries. The presentation of Japanese art to
Australian people has played a vital task in promoting a wider appreciation of
Japanese culture.
Australia is a leading destination for Japanese tourists, especially those who are
willing to learn English. According to Purnendra.J (1997:212), the Japanese hold the
largest percentage of tourists in Australia. Japanese tourists mainly visit Australia to

Apple Consumer Behavior In The Success Of Apple
The success factors of Apple are obtained through meeting the appeal of the
corresponding aspects of consumer behaviour that are Perception, Learning and
Memory, Motivation an Values, The Self, Personality and Lifestyles, Attitudes,
Attitude Change and Interactive Communications, Individual Decision Marketing,
Buying and Disposing, Group Influence and Opinion Leadership, Income Social
Class and Family Structure, Subcultures, Cultural Influences on Consumer
Behaviour, and Creation and Diffusion of Culture. During the course of the 41 years
of existence for the company, as the history background detailed above states most
of these aspects were surely addressed in one way or another in order to maintain the
on going and everlasting success of the brandalong with being able to recognize the
failures and later turn them into successes as well. Apple has established its brand to
meet the consumers perception by setting a standard that involves selection,
organization, an interpretation of it sensations. This is made possible through the
eye grabbing aesthetics characteristics of most its products and the logo that were
designed to be visually appealing to create and immediate response of sensory

Colossal Statue Of King Tutankhamen And The Lamassu
The Colossal Statue of King Tutankhamen and the Lamassu are two very remarkable
pieces in the history of artwork. The Lamassu is an enormous piece in weight as well
as height. The Colossal Statue of King Tutankhamen is also an enormous piece, but
instead, the height is the only thing that sets it apart from the Statue of King
Tutankhamen. The height of both pieces is very intimidating because they are both
taller in relation to people. With both pieces being this tall, the viewer is able to
interact with the pieces more than the smaller ones. The statues are both reliefs, but
the Colossal Statue of King Tutankhamen is around relief. This statue allows the
viewers to walk around the statue and get a clear idea of what the artist was trying
to express with this piece. The Lamassu is also a relief sculpture, but instead, the
viewer is unable to fully walk around the relief. This artwork can only be seen from
the very front as well as the side, this was how the artist intended to express the
artwork.
The artwork is similar as well as very different in many ways. The styles of birth of
the pieces are extremely different and this is very noticeable. The Colossal statue of
King Tutankhamen looks very Egyptian based on the way the statue is designed
many of the facial features resemble the Egyptian culture. The Lamassu statue
resembles more of an Assyrian style based on the facial features. The structures of
both pieces are basically different from one another. The statue of
The Performance Of The Car Under Test
The analysis of the performance of the car under test was completed using AVL
Cruise software. Various Graphs are obtained so that the actual performance of the
car can be determined. Graph 1 (Abundance) prominently shows the torque of the
engine at the respective engine speed along with the specific fuel consumption at that
speed. Approximately 230Nm is the maximum torquethat can be obtained at 4200
rpm, trailed by decrease in torque for the remaining speed. A cycle run was
conducted for three different periods of cycle in which the vehicle was accelerated
then hold and decelerated for certain time depending upon the requirement of cycle.
Graph 2 A shows the change in velocityupon change in accelerationfor three different
cycle times. Also the shift of gears during the period can be observed. Graph 2 B
illustrates consumption of the fuel during the three different stages. It can be noted
that when the velocity was about 50 km/h the fuel consumption was about 5.0 l/h.
Also it significantly notifies that during idling the fuel consumption is 1.6 l/h. In
this Graph it can be inferred that the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a
speed of 4200rpm. Maximum fuel is consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5
bar, fuel consumption gradually decreases with increase in engine speed. Graph 3
speaks about the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a speed of 4200rpm.
Maximum fuel is consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5 bar and also
between 0 bar and 1.6 bar at

The Singer Solution To World Poverty Essay

  • 1. The Singer Solution To World Poverty Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "The Singer Solution to World Poverty" can be a challenging endeavor. The complexity arises from the need to delve into thought-provoking ethical questions posed by Peter Singer, while also addressing the multifaceted nature of global poverty. The task requires a deep understanding of Singer's argument, which advocates for individuals to donate a significant portion of their income to alleviate poverty. To write a compelling essay, one must grapple with ethical dilemmas surrounding individual responsibility and the collective effort needed to combat poverty. The essay should navigate through philosophical discussions on utilitarianism and ethical obligations, while also considering counterarguments and alternative perspectives. Moreover, the writer needs to strike a balance between presenting Singer's perspective accurately and critically analyzing its implications. This involves addressing potential objections, acknowledging the complexity of poverty-related issues, and exploring the practicality of implementing Singer's solution on a global scale. The difficulty further intensifies as the essay requires a nuanced approach, combining moral reasoning with a deep understanding of economic and sociopolitical factors contributing to global poverty. The writer must engage with real-world examples and statistics to support their arguments, adding another layer of complexity to the research process. In conclusion, tackling the essay on "The Singer Solution to World Poverty" demands a careful synthesis of ethical theories, critical analysis, and a comprehensive understanding of global socioeconomic issues. • 2. The Republic Of Plato s Republic Though we ve discussed many kinds of governments, ideal cities and even ideal rulers over the course of the semester, from Aristotle s Politics to the city described in the Melian dialogue, there is one that undoubtedly left a greater on me than the other the city described in Plato s Republic. From Platos remarkably feminist ideals and vague sense of barebones socialism, there s a lot in this citythat I hypothetically would throw my support behind. This is not to say that I think that this is the best option of the cities that we studied options, or even that it would even work if applied to real life. However, the ideas brought up about how to create this city and what would be required of all it s citizens in order to make it work are undeniably fascinating and are never black or white. But what I love about the Republic, and why it so personally resonates with and has impacted me, is that it brings up interesting questions about morality and how far one should go in order to create a perceived perfect society . Questions that there is no easy answer to. First and foremost, I want to talk about Plato s ideas of specialization and what it entails. In the book, Before Socrates has begun building his perfect city, he is asked what Justice is. A long conversation and debate ensues where finally Socrates essentially says that justice is filling out your role in society. This turns out to be a pillar in the society he will create, seeing as his ideal city is dependent

  • 4. Describe The Number Of Protons And Nuetrons The copper atom is constructed from three kinds of particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. The protons and neutrons are located in a very small spherical volume at the exact center of the atom called the nucleus. Protons have a +1 charge, and nuetrons have no charge, so the nucleus has an overall positive charge. The electrons, which have a 1 charge, are located in a relatively large spherical volume around and centered on the nucleus. The nucleus of all copper atoms contains exactly 29 protons. However, atoms with two different numbers of neutrons, called isotopes, are to be constructed. One isotope contains 34 neutrons (copper 63) and the other isotope contains 36 neutrons (copper 65). For every 100 atoms made, there are 69 copper 63 atoms and 31 copper 65 atoms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These electrons, as is the case with the electrons of all atoms, are arranged in a series of shells and subshells. Copper atoms may be described by the symbolic notation, 1s22s22p63s23p64s23d9, where each leading number denotes the shell, the lower case letter denotes the subshell, and the superscript specifies the number of electrons in the subshell. Within the s , p , and d subshells, there are 1, 3, and 5 orbitals respectively. Each orbital may contain a maximum of 2 electrons. Thus, all orbitals in all the subshells occupied by electrons in the copper atom are full except for one orbital in the d subshell in the third shell that has just one electron in it. Note that the highest shell containing electrons in the copper atom is the fourth

  • 6. Abraham Lincoln Accomplishments Abraham Lincoln Alfons Jerred Who was the greatest president in your eyes? I believe that Abraham Lincoln was our greatest president. He had so many achievements in his short term of presidency. Mostly everyone liked him not everyone because of course everyone always has something negative to say about someone. Lincoln is considered a hero, he is considered a hero because of his impact on the nation. Everyone said that he was a very reliable man. The nickname people had for him was honest Abe because they all trusted him. In old pictures you always see him being kind to everyone. In almost every picture you see he is talking to someone and looks very happy. Lincoln was the 16th president, that was one of his major accomplishments who wouldn t want to be president. During the world war Lincoln preserved the union. People think that he saved people from slavery but he really didn t. Lincoln was actually for slavery.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Getting to Know Asteroids Asteroids are a very fascinating part of our solar system. Asteroids are classified as small airless rocky worlds revolving around the sun. Since asteroids are too small, they have not been called planets during the time of their existence. The larger asteroids are known as planetoids or minor planets. Asteroids as a whole, their mass does not even come close to the mass of the Earths moon. This could be a reason why they have not been known as planets. Although asteroids can be seen in any part of our galaxy, most of them reside in the area between Mars and Jupiter. In this are between Mars and Jupiter, you can find close to 200 hundred asteroids larger than 60 miles in diameter. This may not seem like a lot, but that to me seems like a large abundance of asteroids to be kept together in one place at one time. As we have learned in class, asteroids are leftovers from the formation of our solar systemabout 4.6 billion years ago. This to me is eye opening, because with all of these asteroids floating around in our solar system, very rarely do you hear of an incident where an asteroid hits earth. This could also be because of the gravitational pull in space, which can keep the asteroids away. NASA does a very good job of keeping track of these asteroids, and can keep a close eye on any attack that can be happening. As I will explain later in the future endeavors category, NASA is in the process of using an asteroid as a defense mechanism, and also for reasons of easily
  • 8. Music Community As of recently, the music scene has become a less than ideal community to be a part of. The community that I have grown to know and love is everyone respecting everyone. It was a place where people could find new music, talk about music, write music, share music, etc. Now, though, after observing some things from afar without getting engaged, I have been noticing a lot of things that are absolutely not what musicis or should be about. For the longest time, I have been noticing some behaviors that should absolutely not be a part of something that is supposed to be almost a safe space for many. One of the more noticeable examples of these behaviors are people who act all high and mighty about what music they listen to and what they like as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a reason that we don t see many Nickelback fans discussing their music and shows. That s because the media and the internet has bullied Nickelback and their fans basically off the face of the earth. It has gotten so bad that now the US Army has banned the playing of Nickelback and other terrible rock groups that also included Korn, Smashmouth, Slipknot, and Creed, just for shits and giggles. Roughly three months ago, a Canadian police force threatened to subject drunk drivers to the band s music as punishment and one month later, Facebook released a promotional video that states that there ...are no good Nickelback songs. . Is that how we are supposed to treat things that we don t like? People tend to forget that these bands are, believe it or not, people. They are people who have feelings and access to the internet where they can and do see these things being said about them. This is not what being a music fan is about. • 10. The Pros And Cons Of Barack Obama It s in our nature to make snap connections at the mere mention of a word or idea mention apple, and someone might respond instantly with orange. Likewise, mention the Democratic Party of the U.S. and most people will immediately begin to imagine someone resembling the same spirit and character as the person they believe to represent it a person who consistently champions for the rights of the less advantaged (that is to say, citizens living below the poverty line and citizens who still face discrimination in daily life) and strives for the better progress of a nation (like raising minimum wage and increasing jobs). For me, one such person is Barack Obama. Due to his unwavering and diplomatic nature, I believe Barack Obama represents a true Democrat. Unfortunately, there are some who would argue against this claim Richard Epstein, winner of the Bradley Prize (2011) and a senior lecturer at Chicago University, states that vision and skills are not always doled out in equal measure, and [Obama s] lack of the latter made him unfit to choose the proper means for meeting the challenges he set out for himself. Model of Justice in Plato s The Republic Essay Model of Justice in Plato s The Republic In what is perhaps his most well known text, The Republic, Plato explores the fundamental concept of justice, how it is observed in the world, and its application to the lives of men. When he identifies the good in Book VI, which is reality and knowledge in their true forms, Plato also describes the visual world of shadows and false reality that people perceive and is cast by the sun. What follows from these definitions is that, while justice is a concept that exists autonomously from injustice and other fleeting conditions, injustice requires justice to be a medium for it to exist, develop, and spread itself. While it might be intuitive to a person that there is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though the whole of The Republic is an investigation of what justice is, the relationship between it and justice is derived from the virtue of sophrosyne. This quality of moderation and balance in a person is what Plato considers essential to the just man. He explains, The reality is that justice is not a matter of external behavior but the way a man privately and truly governs his inner self. The just man does not permit the various parts of his soul to interfere with one another or usurp each other s functions. He has set his own life in order. (Plato, 137) That which is good withstands external pressures so that its essential quality is unchanged. Similarly, the just man is identified not by that which we visually observe about him, but the integrity of his internal composure. We have determined, therefore, that it is what is good about the just man that makes him just. Having established this point about the just person, it is sensible to consider the conditions under which a person becomes unjust. The development of injustice in the individual occurs when we do not have the internal balance that is indicative of a just person, but rather are excessive in some aspect of our psychology. Our psychology is based on three aspects of the soul which determine how a person will think and behave. Plato explains, ...[T]he soul is composed of at least two distinct parts. One is the reasoning part. The other
  • 12. Is Cheating Ethically Wrong Cheating is a form of academic dishonesty, whereby the cheater has an unfair advantage over other students. According to utilitarianism and virtue ethics theories, cheating is morally wrong. From a utilitarian perspective (the ends justify the means), the cheating students may be happy with their resultant higher grades, but the majority non cheatingstudents would not be happy, especially if there is a grading curve involved. Virtue ethicsvalues qualities like integrity, honesty and fairness while avoiding vices like greed and selfishness. If cheating were allowed to go unnoticed, it would create a greed driven society in which cheating is a quick way to profit. In addition, I should not assist my friends in cheating as not only does it make me a cheater as well, it does not benefit me at all, since I have already completed my test. Virtue ethics supports the idea of reporting the cheating students because not doing so would mean disregarding dishonesty, and making me an immoral person. However, the answer may be less clear when it comes to utilitarianism. The cheater could be severely punished for their acts and feel incredibly unhappy if reported, and I may feel bad about tattling. On the other hand, it could also make the cheater a better person, and benefiting the entire class by more fairly representing the grade distribution. Furthermore, turning a blind eye to acts of cheating would not benefit the school s reputation and society in the long run. Good grades obtained by cheating do not accurately reflect the student s abilities and knowledge. Glucose D glucopyranose or, more commonly, D glucose is an aldohexose, a reducing sugar and a component of sucrose, lactose, cellulose, and starch; the latter is typically used as the primary material for the commercial production of glucose via enzymatic hydrolysis (de Wit et al. 1993). Glucose is the primary component for the manufacture of alkyl polyglucosides, D glucitol, gluconic acid, and high fructose corn syrup; in fact, D glucosecan undergo a fermentation process to produce L ascorbic acid, from D glucitol, as well as polyesters, polyurethanes, and alkyd and melamine resins. Moreover, D glucose can form pyranoid, furnaoid, and acyclic tautomers (Lichtenthaler and Peters 2004). This tautomeric form must be fixed to help facilitate subsequent reactions such for the formation of furanoid diacetonide, acyclic dithio acetal, pyranoid structures, in glucosidic forms, and glucal or hydroxyglucal esters. Furthermore, an acetylacetone reaction with D glucose, with intercession from ZnCl¬¬2, forms highly substituted furan derivatives. Since only the first two D glucose carbons participate in the furan formation, a hydrophilic tetrahydroxybutyl side chain also forms, which can be oxidized to yield a selection of furanic building blocks. In comparison, D glucose can react with pentane 2,4 dione, in a moderately basic environment, to cause carbon addition, followed by a retroaldol style elimination of acetate. Chickenhawk is Robert Mason s narrative of personal experience which deals chronologically with his training in Vietnam. Through this description of war, Mason distinguishes the physical part of war and the psychological phase. He also demonstrates that the expressive aspect controls the physical. Grief, terror, love, longing these were intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had tangible weight (O Brien 926). O Brien claims that horror, longing, responsibility, and uncertainty that the soldiers experience outweigh the physical agony that they must resist to survive, loads that are lightened only a little by the willing to return home. It can pass the costs of R amp; D and production costs over a larger volume of production and thereby reduce the unit cost total. The global scale permits huge economies as the benefits of scale taken from the experience in one market are developed in others. They also provide opportunities for economies of scale in advertising, distribution, and product design. Geoffrey Randall argues that what the marketing people must do is ensure that cost savings (in whatever area), do not damage the brand. This reduction of costs is conversely related to the fact that the firm will no longer have to spend much of their time in launching their products or services. The reason behind this is the fact that the global name of the company had already established its name in the market. For example, the agency of communication, Mc Erickson has saved $ 90 million in production costs to Coca Cola in the past 20 years thanks to the realization of world movie. * It gives a global image of products and this image appears as a coherent image. The Essure Medical Device Analysis Originally, the company Conceptus manufactured the Essure Permanent Birth Control System, which was first approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Nov. 4, 2002. In 2013, Bayer purchased Conceptus and the companies merged. According to Bayer, more than 750,000 women use this birth controlsystem to prevent pregnancy, with approximately 70 percent of these women residing within the U.S. The Essure Medical Device The Essure Medical Device consists of flexible coils that are non surgically placed within the Fallopian tubes. This device is a permanent form of birth control. Essure s flexible coils are inserted through the vagina, past the cervix and into the Fallopian tubes. Once inserted, the device causes a build up of the tissue within the Fallopian tubes. Over a period of approximately three months, this tissue blocks the Fallopian tubes; thus, preventing the sperm from traveling through them to fertilize an egg. Three months following insertion, a radiologist checks to make sure that the Fallopian tubes are blocked. We will take a look at 10 of these contributions and then choose the four that I believe are the most important. Gunpowder has changed the world, it is the basis for almost every weapon used in war from the time it was invented, it has made warfare very different and affected the way battles were and are fought, it is used as an explosive and has aided in the development of the modern world by making it easier to move mountains for development. The compass has spurred travel all around the world by allowing vessels to sail the sea and plains to fly across oceans, I question if we would have the global trade we have today if the compass was never invented. Row planting was a better way to plant, grow and harvest crops and has allowed mankind to farm more efficiently. Iron and steel smelting has allowed man to build bridges and structures that allow for easier travel and commerce. All four of these contributions have influenced the world we live in today and will continue to influence the future of our planet. As for me, the one invention I can t live without is the mechanical clock. I have a strong need to know the time and be on time when I am traveling or have to be somewhere. I can t stand to be late so if the mechanical clock had never been invented we would have watches or time clocks today and this could not only put my life in turmoil, it could alter the entire world as we know it because in some way we all depend on time. Marx created his materialism of Overdetermination or Dialectical Materialism. This brought in a whole new way to see the world in Marx s new lens, or line of thinking. Traditionally, there have also been other lines of thinking but the two major idealisms are Rationalism and Empiricism. Each of these idealisms gain their beliefs in different ways. As Marx states, Culture, Nature, Political and economic events shape one s line of thinking. This argument takes place within Epistemology, the branch of philosophydevoted to studying the nature, sources and limits of knowledge (Stanford). The differences between these lines of thought come from the question how one gains knowledge. The first idealism that we will dive into is Rationalism. Rationalism is type of thinking that is part of Epistemology, which is the, on a basic level, the theory of knowledge. This theory is developed based on their two main views. First, they argue that there are cases where the content of our concepts or knowledge outstrips the information that sense experience can provide. Second, they construct accounts of how reasonin some form or other provides that additional information about the world (Stanford). Rationalist gain their believes by the processes of deduction and intuition. Intuition is a process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning, bridging

There were also ogres with huge teeth, wolves, and bull headed men along with evil trees, and poisonous plants. Some creatures could be described in length for the sake of the readers (Lewis 151). Later on, one child s disloyalty to his siblings becomes a huge problem. Aslan decides to risk his own life for the boy. All in all, good overthrows evil, and the children become kings and queens of Narnia in the end (Langford). Aslan proclaims: Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen. For most people in this time, when they heard about God or Christianity, they did not want to listen. Instead of giving children ordinary Bible stories, he wrote adventures. The Lamassu is an enormous piece in weight as well as height. The Colossal Statue of King Tutankhamen is also an enormous piece, but instead, the height is the only thing that sets it apart from the Statue of King Tutankhamen. The height of both pieces is very intimidating because they are both taller in relation to people. With both pieces being this tall, the viewer is able to interact with the pieces more than the smaller ones. The statues are both reliefs, but the Colossal Statue of King Tutankhamen is around relief. This statue allows the viewers to walk around the statue and get a clear idea of what the artist was trying to express with this piece. The Lamassu is also a relief sculpture, but instead, the viewer is unable to fully walk around the relief. This artwork can only be seen from the very front as well as the side, this was how the artist intended to express the artwork. The artwork is similar as well as very different in many ways. The styles of birth of the pieces are extremely different and this is very noticeable. The Colossal statue of King Tutankhamen looks very Egyptian based on the way the statue is designed many of the facial features resemble the Egyptian culture. The Lamassu statue resembles more of an Assyrian style based on the facial features. The structures of both pieces are basically different from one another. The statue of

Various Graphs are obtained so that the actual performance of the car can be determined. Graph 1 (Abundance) prominently shows the torque of the engine at the respective engine speed along with the specific fuel consumption at that speed. Approximately 230Nm is the maximum torquethat can be obtained at 4200 rpm, trailed by decrease in torque for the remaining speed. A cycle run was conducted for three different periods of cycle in which the vehicle was accelerated then hold and decelerated for certain time depending upon the requirement of cycle. Graph 2 A shows the change in velocityupon change in accelerationfor three different cycle times. Also the shift of gears during the period can be observed. Graph 2 B illustrates consumption of the fuel during the three different stages. It can be noted that when the velocity was about 50 km/h the fuel consumption was about 5.0 l/h. Also it significantly notifies that during idling the fuel consumption is 1.6 l/h. In this Graph it can be inferred that the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a speed of 4200rpm. Maximum fuel is consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5 bar, fuel consumption gradually decreases with increase in engine speed. Graph 3 speaks about the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a speed of 4200rpm. Maximum fuel is consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5 bar and also between 0 bar and 1.6 bar at
