For as long as I can remember, I was always fascinated with how things worked. I d take apart
electronics simply to learn about them and reassemble them afterwards. If I would receive a piece
of technology, the first thing I d do is dismantle its hardware and software to learn how it worked
and how I could improvement. However, I noticed that something was missing electronics never
had the close knit relationship with people; you were essentially working with machines; you d
input a command and you d know what the output was each and every time. By the time I had

According to theories of public service motivation, public employees are public servants who
are committed to the public good and characterized by an ethic that is built on benevolence, life

precedence over the other, and are largely left up to the viewer s interpretation. Psychos symbols

this semester, but this dissertation will attempt to illuminate the purpose of at least one of these
symbols: that of the bird. Hitchcock uses the bird both obviously and ambiguously throughout the
film. These instances, which are primarily psychological and sexual in nature, are developed
through the film s two central characters, Marion Crane and Norman Bates, and reveal fundamental
truths about the psyche and about human nature in general. The bird motif, despite being a central

As stated above, my early childhood experiences are crucial when making inferences and
understanding the reasoning behind them. I created two groups depending on their role within
the game I observed; The Runners and Hunters. Regardless of the game I was observing, I

Heroes have been known widely for their non violent ways, their act of kindness, and helping
people because it s the right thing to do (and not for fame). A modern day hero usually shows
these types of acts. However, an Anglo Saxon hero shows some of the opposite traits, including
violence. Beowulf is one of a good example of an Anglo Saxon hero. However, Beowulfshouldn t
be considered as a modern day hero today because he had different super abilities that a normal
person doesn t have, he uses the acts of violence, and he s really boastful about himself. Beowulf

acts of violence would be considered heroic in Anglo Saxon times because of his bravery by
