Request is the most critical and testing variable to control. The security stock

Statistics Is The Most Popular Score Essay
Introduction
Statistics is not only part of a required to create on coursework in schools.
Everywhere person looks, statistics is around. Too many people think statistics is
difficult though, but it is all around them in real life. Three main descriptive statistics
which make data easier to interpret, measure central tendency. They are the mean,
measured, and median. Each of these are averages, which everyone is exposed to in
everyday life (Stapel, n.d.). All three have specific uses in real life.
The Mode
The first measure, the mode, is the most popular score. To find the mode, one
tallies the frequency of each number or value. The mode becomes the group that
occurs the most frequently (Averages, n.d.). A set of numbers may have more than
one mode when an equal number of occurrences takes place at more than one value.
Of course, a mode may not occur in a set of numbers if the numbers appear with
equal frequency (Henry, 2011). Next, a few examples of the mode are explained.
First, California Homeschool Network s election occurs annually. An election is a
great example explaining the method. The election consists of trustees that members
vote for. When the election closes, the results displaying the trustee who receives the
most votes is the winner. This winner received the largest number of tallies during the
election count.
Another example of the mode is finding the average number of students in various
programs at National University determining which are the most
The Poisoning Effects of Smoking
Smoking tobacco has been practiced for years. People worldwide view smoking as
a lifestyle and smoked for pleasure and relaxation. During the 19th century it was
considered fashionable to be seen taking a puff from a cigarette. At that time, the
world was blind to the negative effects of smoking tobacco. However, during the 20th
century, scientific research began and The American Cancer Society began to
emphasize the health risks of smokingcigarettes. By 1964 a Surgeon s General
warning was seen on every pack of cigarettes across the U.S. linking smoking to lung
cancer. Even with the astounding evidence of the health effects, cigarettesmoking
continues to claim the lives of thousands of Americans each year. Cigarette smoking
causes permanent damage for not only the smoker, but the non smoker and
environment as well. If the U.S. government were to ban cigarette smoking all
together, there will be a positive change in the well being of Americans everywhere.
The counterargument against the prohibition of cigarette smoking is that cigarette
The poisons found in cigarette smoke are deadly and destructive to the smoker.
Cigarette smoke contains nearly seven thousand chemicals including butane (used in
lighter fluid), cadrrium (used in batteries), ammonia ( used in toilet cleaners),
methane (used in sewer gas), and menthol (used in rocket fuel). Particularly, sixty
nine of these chemicals are carcinogens. Of these chemicals nicotine is the most
addictive. When a person
Pros And Methods Of The Nursing Process
The Nursing process is a scientific method used by nurses to ensure the quality of
patient care. Broken down into five separate steps; assessing; diagnosing, planning,
implementing, and evaluating all nurses must be familiar with the nursing process.
Nonetheless a student name Amy wants to improve her grades. She had learned
about using the nursing process during class a couple of days ago and if it works
for planning patient care, why can it not work for her? Though we won t go
through all the nursing process steps, we will apply some of those steps to help Amy
create a successful study plan to pass her classes.
In the first step of the nursing process; assessment, the nurse gathers information
about a patient. Amy can gather data on her study habits by figuring out what type of
learner she is to incorporate that learning style into her study habits, assessing her
current grades and keeping records, and testing her knowledge to see what she current
knows. The first most important thing that Amy can assess is how she learns. Is
she an auditory, visual or kinetics learning? Once Amy is able to establish which
learning method works better for her, she can incorporate that learning method to
study successfully. Amy assessing her grades can give her a better understand
where her GPA currently stands. Is it low enough that even if she studies, she still
won t pass? Is her GPA high enough to when she does studies she ll get an A ? All of
these have to be considered. Also keeping
The Sputnik Scare And Its Effects On The World s...
The Sputnik scare. On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched the world s first
manmade satellite into orbit. The satellite, known as Sputnik, did not do much other
than send radio waves from its transmitters as it circled the Earth. Yet, to many
Americans, Sputnik was evidence of something alarming. The Soviets success
suggested that they might be capable of launching intercontinental ballistic missiles
and they were ahead of the United States in scientific and military technology. In
response, the federal government formed new agencies, such as the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Defense s
Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), to develop cutting edge technologies
such as rockets, weapons and computers (Moschovitis et al. 1999: 39). The birth of
the ARPAnet. According to Grillies and Cailliau (2000), scientists and military
experts were especially concerned about a Soviet attack on the nation s telephone
system and how much of an impact it would have on governmental communication.
They feared that just a single missile could destroy the whole network that made
efficient long distance communication possible. To solve this problem, a scientist
from M.I.T. and ARPA known as J.C.R. Licklider proposed an intergalactic network
of computers that could communicate with one another. Such a network would allow
government leaders to communicate even if the Soviets destroyed the telephone
system (Grillies et al. 2000: 12 15). In
The Reforms Of Gaius Marius And The Aftereffects Of
The...
The first century BC brought about a number of important changes for the Roman
army. Most notably, the reforms of Gaius Marius and the aftereffects of both the
Social and Civil Wars altered the Roman army as a whole. Bringing about both
continuity and change, these events would help to shape the nature, composition and
character of the army of the Late Republic period and beyond. Change came in the
form of reforms brought about by Marius; the changing of the conscription of soldiers
into the Roman army would alter not only the formation of the army, but also its
nature and character. Furthermore, the granting of full citizenship to non Roman
troops who fought for the Roman army meant a blurring of a distinct Roman
identity, or what it meant to be a Roman. However, despite these aspects of change,
continuity too came out of this period. The troops of the army post Marian reforms
developed strong patron client relationships with their generals that were not unlike
the concept of the paterfamilias that had existed since the beginnings of Rome.
Furthermore, leadership of the army was put into the hands of a select few, as it
always had been, and these men would use the army as a means to further their
personal ambitions.
The largest of these changes to the Roman army were arguably the changes Gaius
Marius made in the conscription of soldiers. Conscription pre Marius took the form
of the state issuing a property requirement for soldiers who wished to join the army.

Living Water Kye Courtright BIBL 5253 John Harrison March 24, 2015
Introduction Jesus claims in John 7:37 38 about living water are often deemed
important by readers, but the average reader does not see the importance of the
cultural backdrop of the Feast of Booths and the historical events of Israel at
Meribah coming to a climax at this moment. The water imagery of John 7 is
sourced in Old Testament narrative; Israel s experience at Meribah overflows into
Jesus encounter, and the story challenges readers with the age old choice between
grumbling and belief. Jesus claiming to be the source of living water and call for all

Jesus says in this passage that whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
streams of living water will flow from within him. Claiming this is vital to John s
narrative, the listener of Jesus and reader of the Gospel. The importance is
increased through the historical significance of the Feast of Booths. Water and
Feast of Booths Jesus statement of living water comes at an opportune moment.
John did not place this event unwittingly into the narrative of the story. The Feast
of Booths, according to Josephus, was the greatest and most holy of the Jewish
festivals. The celebration would have drawn large crowds; many would have been
gathered as each Jewish male was expected to make the pilgrimage to Jerusalem
for the celebration (CITATION). Jesus made his claims around the Temple; there
would have been plenty of festival goers around to listen and hear him. His
audience also would have understood the significance of his statements in relation
to the events occurring around them. The feast makes sense of Jesus use of water
imagery. A water libation ceremony was one of the most visual sacraments
performed at the feast. Each day, priests, along with a following of pilgrims, would
walk to the Pool of Siloam and fill a jar with its water. Walking back into the city
through the Water Gate, the priest would take the jar to the Temple where an

comes at the top list. There is hardly anyone who is oblivion about him, who has
slight interest in Hindi and Urdu. Right from the childhood, children are fed with the
rich and delicious short stories written by him. Not only that, in some homes, parents
and grandparents narrate the stories of Premchand in place of lullaby. His popularity

The priest was a tailor by profession. It is believed that, the love for Pharsi language
was developed in the tender heart of Premchand through his master, that s why he
even took Pharsi till his B.A. When Premchand was at the tender age of eight, his
mother departed from this world leaving him at the mercy of his father and elder
sister (Sungi) aged fifteen. His elder sister was married in the same year, before
his mother passed away. Soon after the departure of his mother from this world,
his condition aggravated. It was not because they were in financial strain; rather it
was because now, there was no one who could fill up the gap of his love, which he
had for his mother. His father couldn t give much time to him due to his frequent
transfer. His father s transfer took him to different places, such as sometime at
Gorakphur , sometime at Kanpur sometime at Illahabad , sometime at Luknow ,
sometime at Jiyanpur and sometime at Badalgang . Just because of this tiresome
transfer from one place to another, his father was always preoccupied arranging
different odds and ends that; he failed to provide ample time to a motherless child.
And just because of it, a huge gap was formed between son and father, which
remained till the last breath of his father. To make the matter worse, his father
remarried in persuasion of other people. At first Premchand was delighted with a hope
The Effects Of Advertising On Our Society
If your walking down the street, driving in your car, or listening to radio there is
no doubt that you ve hear or seen an ad. In todays world we live off of the things
that the companies try to sell us. As it seems that we are presented with a new
problem with the way ads are targeted to the consumer. Ads are much more than a
product selling campaign, now it s an unrealistic ideology of body perfection. This
kind of product pushing comes with many different side effects that we as a
consumer, might not realize. It is so detrimental that it becomes imbedded in your
subconscious. Technology has made it to the point where it s hard to tell what is
real and fake. Advertising has created a pandemic in the way we view the body image
of ourselves and the opposite sex in society. The perfect image is damaging to
people causing an alarming growth in the form of psychological and health issues
in the consumer. In today s modern time, we are evolving in the digital world at a
rapid rate. We can no longer live without an ad popping up with every turn we
make. Usually these ads come across as playful or appealing depending on the
demographic. As time progresses from early forms of advertisement, we are seeing
an alarming trending in the way ads have portrayed men and women as unrealistic
body figures. Ads tend to sell a type of perfection to the consumer, say that we must
have a perfect body, look, or style. In a recent article posted to magazine.org they
defined the current state of
The Importance Of Dance In Music Man
Dance is an intricate art form that is observed through a variety of styles including
musical theatre. Not only is dance entertaining, but the art also provides as a
gateway to a deeper understanding in a play. Music Man originally written by
AUTHOR NAME is a fine example of dance unveiling a story through numerous
elements. In this piece danceexpresses a tale of an outgoing man turning an old
fashioned, strict town into a lively place for everyone, especially the children. As the
musical moves along, dance elements enhance the transitions of the town from an
unloving and separate city, to a converging village, and finally to a fully united
community. With strategic planning, the choreographer succeeds in conveying the
message of a changing town.
Notably, the musical opens to a large group of men bickering in a train station, a
relevant example of a hateful city. Through dance, the gentlemen utilize a small
dimension by vibrating, which represents how the men keep to themselves and do
not reach out for new ideas. Also, the fast small movements indicate aggression,
which is supported through their audio accompaniment of arguing. In a broader
scheme, the vibrations portray the town as aggressive and attached to old ways.
Comparatively, the next dance includes a movement across the stage when discussing
how the children s behavior will be negatively affected from any kind of change in
the town. This floor pattern directly reflects aggression. As the adults storm across the

A macroeconomic shock came in the form of the Russian Financial Crisis (RFC).
This preceded the Global Financial Crisis. As a result of the RFC, Pibrex s sales

Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective
b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective
Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources
from less to more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most.
This process of exchange does not face many obstacles when the parties to a
transaction can perform their obligations in a simultaneous manner. In today s world,
most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how,
where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. This is
why protection of contract rights is essential.
While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any
form of contract law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content

If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward
economic activity that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce
efficiency in the market and lead to misallocation of resources.
Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect
how parties interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has
advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for
sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered
to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of
pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch,
has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor
Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s
offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his
mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s
failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources
because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch
and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him.
The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only
where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.
The Little School Chapter Summaries
In 1946, Juan Peron became President of Argentina with support from the working
class. He bettered the lives of Argentinians such as improving the public health
system, increasing working wages, as well as granting the power for women to
vote (Partnoy 11). During this time, Alicia Partnoy, the author of The Little School,
was involved in a political youth group who tried to fulfill the needs of
Argentinians. However in 1975, Peron died and his third wife, Isabel Peron, took
over as president and did not represent the needs of the working class. Instead, the
power was left to the military who attacked, kidnapped, and killed political youth
groups or any political activists that threatened the country s security (Partnoy 11).

During Isabel s presidency political activists were forcibly taken to, beaten, and
tortured in concentration camps. These real life experiences are difficult to share,
thus Partnoy skims over certain details in the stories and may not be completely
accurate accounts of what occurred. In the first story of Partnoy s book, The One
Flower Slippers , she describes how she was captured by the military officials and
sent to the secret detention center. Throughout her story, Partnoy uses the pronouns
she and her instead of I . When the soldiers grabbed her, forcing her into a
truck...afterward she looked up: the sky was so blue that it hurt...she does not
remember exactly the day it all happened... (Partnoy 25 26). This indicates that the
story was written in a third person point of view, which means the reader is not told
the upfront details about the kidnapping but imaginary aspects bridge the moments
together like a summary rather than a minute for minute transcription. These
experiences from the secret detention centers were harsh, gruesome, and
heartbreaking; therefore these fictional stories allow the reader to digest and conceive
the violent conditions and hardships that victims endured without knowing all the
violent factual details. Hence some stories in the book may have glossed over certain
parts, but it displays what happened in a light hearted and

Scientists investigated the crayfish s aquatic habitat and found that their primary

The Birth Of Older Women Essay
For the mother, babies can make them feel and appear younger. In the early to mid
twenties is when a woman will have the most energy but are much less likely than
a woman over 35 to be financially stable, be established in their work life and have
the resources to look after and care for a baby. Older women will also have more
life experience and maturity to draw on in rearing a child and looking after a baby.
Younger mothers are known to sometimes feel resentful at having to postpone their
jobs to look after a baby but older mothers are usually wanting and ready for a baby
so unlikely to feel that same resentment. Also younger women tend to worry a lot
more about their body image at that age as well as focussing on jobs or marriage
and adding a baby into the mix can just be too much. An older woman is likely to
be more stable in a relationship and therefore more likely to deal well with the
changes that parenthood brings. Older women will have had many more years to
think over what a baby will mean and are more likely than a younger woman to be
emotionally ready to have a child. The older one is, the more mature and patient
one will be with a child, in theory. Younger mothers, very young that is, find it hard
in today s society as it is not generally geared towards helping mothers in or barely
out of school. John Mirowsky, a sociologist at the University of Texas, wrote that for
ages 20 and younger pregnancyis more likely to happen out of wedlock, more likely
to interfere
The Meaning Of Faith In Kiierkegaard s Fear And
Trembling

Paper 3
PHIL2310 The Meaning of Life
Professor LaMendola
Fall 2017
Leap of Faith
In the selection from Kierkegaard s Fear and Trembling, explain the aesthetic man,
ethical man, and knight of faith. How does this do each of these people figure into
Kierkegaard s argument for taking a leap of faith ? Using Kierkegaard s argument,
explain whether or not the story of Abraham is describes a meaningful life.
Kierkegaard s ideas on the meaning of life are conveyed in his writings of Fear and
Trembling. In the selection, Kierkegaard speaks of three different types of people
in three different stages of life. The aesthetic man, the ethical man, and the knight of
faith. Each man, having a different meaning in life during each stage, eventually
reaching the ultimate meaning of life. In the following, I will explain how each of
these men fit into Kierkegaard s argument for taking a leap of faith , as well as
explain Why Abraham s life is a meaningful life based off of Kierkegaard s argument.
Kierkegaard believes there are three stages in life, The aesthetic, The ethical, and
the religious. He also believes that one cannot reach the next stage in succession
until he has negated everything in the previous stage of life. The first stage is the
aesthetic stage in life. A man living life through aesthetics is known as the
aesthetic man. The aesthetic man seeks pleasures for himself. He only engages in
things that bring him pleasure. At this moment in his life, morals do not matter.
They are not used as guidelines on how to live life. They are completely ignored.
At this stage in life, man s meaning is to heighten all individual pleasures. The
Aesthetic man can be all different ages. He can be the 18 year old leaving his
parents home, ignoring all of the morals his parents tried to enforce on him. The
18 year old now has ultimate freedom and can do whatever he please, or pleases
him [ as he only seeks things and activities that will bring happiness and pleasure].
The aesthetic level can be the level one is born into automatically. If we raise up a
child without sharing any moral ideas with the child, he will most likely indulge in
pleasures to alleviate pain and boredom. To imagine an aesthetic man, think of
Best Buy s Top Three Executives
Best Buy s top three executives are Hubert Joly as the Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer, Sharon McCollam as the company s Chief Administrative
Officer and Chief Financial Officer, and Shari Ballard as President, U.S. Retail and
Chief Human Resources Officer. Best Buy was founded in 1966 by the founder
Richard M. Schulze. During its first year of opening Best Buyhad earned a sales
reach of $173,000 dollars. Four years after it opened Schulze decided to partner and
expand his company to new heights; his product line, however, had only been limited
to audio products, but that only lasted until the 1980s. Schulze had gotten the idea to
open the store to other products after he went to a seminar, where he was able to

Although sales had nearly doubled to $439 million dollars in 1988 net earning had
gone down by 64 percent. Rumored that while Best Buy had went into a slump
during the fall of 1988 Schulze tried to sell his company to Sears but failed because
he demanded certain perks. Best Buy s growth was spectacular, from the years
1989 to 1992 corporate sales rose up to 23 percent, while the industry as a whole
had only expanded to nearly three percent. From the years 1992 to 1993 the sales
rose again for the first time it went beyond $1 billion dollars, from $929 million to
$1.6 billion, this was their biggest increase since they opened. Best Buy had
generated the most excitement in Wall Street with the biggest sales and increase in
the amount they receive each year growing bigger and better each time. For the
first half of 1991 Best Buy was the most popular out of all the other New York
Stock Exchange stocks in percentage. In 1993 the stock nearly doubles within a three
month period but then dropped by ten percent in a single day in mid November.
The one year chart about Best shows that Best Buy had an increase in profits at the
beginning of 2015 and during the month March, Best Buy had earned the highest this
year. It also shows that after they got to their highest point this year, their sales started
to go down and that their sales continues to go down steadily until August when the
sales had reached new heights. However,
Effects Of Poverty On Justice
How does poverty effect the justice system? The justice system is a way for people
to get help for when they are in trouble but that is not always the truth. There are
people out there being abused by the justice system and most of the people are in
poverty. While this problem is being resolved, it will take time for it to be fixed.
People all over the world are putting all of their effort into helping the poor
overcome their difficulties. There is one man in particular that stands out to from
everyone else and his name is Bryan Stephenson. His past experiences will help to
prove how povertyand justice relate to each other. The discussion regarding poverty
and the justice system will cover how does poverty affect justice? How poverty does
or does not affect justice. Are there any examples of poverty and justice existing at
the same time.
To put it in hind sight, poverty does effect justice because of the way it can be
abused for others gain. People are greedy and want to make benefits for
themselves. The poor are very vulnerable to others have more money and can
better people who can help them accomplish in getting what they want. An
example of this from the New York Times article, Court by Court, Lawyers Fight
Policies that Fall Heavily on the Poor, a woman has to pay the fee for what she
was sent to jail for but could not because she was in jail and the fee built up to the
point she could not pay it off. There are also others stories relating to companies

Causation Of Major Depressive Disorder ( Mdd )
There could be numerous factors that could lead to the causation of major
depressive disorder (MDD). These different factors could also be linked with one
another depending on the particular individual suffering with the mental illness.
Fava and Kendler proposed that there are four major risk factors associated with
MDD, these include; gender, stressful life events, adverse childhood experiences
and certain personality traits (Fava Kendler, 2000). For an individual to have
experienced a major depressive episode specific symptoms must last for a duration
of at least two weeks where the person experiences depressed moods and showcase
a lack of interest or pleasure in the majority of activities. In young adults and
children the mood may seem more irritable than depressed, however this is not seen
across all individuals. People suffering from this depressive state will also have to
experience at least four additional symptoms for it to be classed as MDD, these can
include; Fluctuations in weight; changes to the individuals sleep pattern, and
psychomotor activity; feelings of worthlessness or guilt. Individuals may also find it
difficult to think, concentrate, or to make decisions. Recurrent thoughts of death and
/or suicide are also typical symptoms that an individual might have when suffering
with MDD (DSM IV, 2005). There are a variety of different approaches for the
treatment of MDD one being the psychodynamic approach. This seems to focus on
the assumption that an
Dante s Inferno and the Garden of Earthly Delights
The Garden of Earthly Delights painted by Hieronymus Bosch, depicts many vivid
fictional scenes in triptych style. The right wing of the triptych depicts Hell and the
causes of man s downfall, which Dante wrote about in the Inferno. Dante tries to
convey to all humanity the consequences of human actions and the levels of hellthat
he believes exist for different levels of sins. Dante divides Hell up into ten different
circles, and there is an upper and a lower level of Hell. Dante and Bosch have similar
views on the evil within people and this evil is represented in their works, whether it
transpires in a painting or in a book.

And that you may report on me up there, know that I am Bertran de Born, the one
who evilly encouraged the young king. (XXVIII: 133 135) Dante portrays the

regards to the disemboweled person, Wrong is it for a man to have what he once cast

br There is a woman at the bottom right of the painting that is being held by a
kangaroo type creature. This creature may represent the invisible force that Dante
believes is inside a sinner that makes him do the things he does, whether it be caused
by mental or physical suffering. One of the sinners in the Inferno, an Impersonator,
kept craving water. He said, O you who bear no punishment at all (I can t think
why) within this world of sorrow, he said to us, pause here and look upon the misery
of one Master Adamo: in life I had all that I could desire, and now, alas, I crave a drop

The Mexican-American War Essay
Regardless of the decade or the country a person lives in, there seems to be a
reckless disregard for the toll a war can take on human lives. When the Alamo was
fought back in February 1836, it was about the independence of Texas from Mexico.
In retaliation of the death and destruction of human life, Sam Houston retaliated in
April and killed 630 Mexican soldiers and took General Santa Anna prisoner (Tindall
Shi, 2010). This was the start of the independence of Texas and the quest for
annexation into the United States, which ultimately led to the Mexican American
War of 1846 1848. This paper will briefly explain the reasons for the Mexican
American War and will describe the outcome of the war.

The belief was that America had a God given right, or destiny, to expand the country
s border from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean (Lee, 2011). Tension arose
between the US and Mexico in 1846 after an attempt to purchase the California and
New Mexico Territories was rebuffed over a border dispute. In Texas, the situation
worsened when the southern border was disputed. Mexico claimed the border at the
Nueces River, while Texas claimed the border at the Rio Grande. President Polk
wanted to goad the Mexicans into a conflict to obtain Texas while also securing
New Mexico and California, however; it was essential that Mexico commence it
(Tindall Shi, 2010). On May 9, 1846 the Mexicans attacked US soldiers, President
Polk s scheme worked. On May 13, 1846 President Polk signed the declaration of
war. The Mexican American War had begun.
The Outcome With no actual war plan, the Mexican war was fought on four fronts
southern Texas, central Mexico, New Mexico, and California (Tindall Shi, 2010).
The military on both sides were ill prepared for fighting the war. The US Army
consisted of roughly 7,000 soldiers, while the Mexican forces consisted of 32,000
soldiers. By the time the war was over the number had risen to 104,000 American
forces. Some were volunteers for six and 12 month enlistments. General Taylor, who
would eventually become President of the United States in 1849, became popular

Not All Conspiracies are Imaginary
Almost as an article of faith, some individuals believe that conspiracies are either
kooky fantasies or unimportant aberrations. To be sure, wacko conspiracy theories
do exist. There are people who believe that the United States has been invaded by a
secret United Nations army equipped with black helicopters, or that the country is
secretly controlled by Jews or gays or feminists or black nationalists or communists or

The second largest consumer of California water is public supply. Public supply
has to do with both public and private water suppliers, which provide water to
others. Public supply water usages would have to deal with domestic, commercial,
industrial purposes, and public serves such as pool, parks, firefighting, etc. Public
water supply plays a huge role in many counties, and communities. The reason why
is because the public water supply systems that are located in these counties

as well and without it there would be nothing to live off and everything and everyone

An Essay Comparing Joshua and Jesus
At first glance Joshua seems to just be a story of the Israelites and the settling of
the Promised Land, however, there may also be a prophetic vision of God s plan
for Salvation of His people. The book of Joshua shows the difference between living
a life, like Moses, under the Law of the Old Testament and under the freedom, which
came from JesusChrist, as Joshua did. One could certainly make a strong case that
Joshua 1 6 can be looked at as a metaphor of Jesus Christ and man s salvation through
Him. The evidence ranges from Joshua s name to the meaning of the Jordan River.
The implications would mean that Godwas discretely showing the IsraelitesHis plan
for future salvation well over a thousand years before Christ.Joshua chapters... Show

A divine act from God allowed the Israelites to cross. The coming of Jesus Christ
around 1400 years later is a stunning parallel to this part of the story. Since the law
was not the complete solution to the problem of man and sin, what was? The
people needed some kind of medium to be able to cross from sin into a
relationship with God. This medium would come from God sending His son,
Jesus, to help cross the river . This was just as how God chose Joshua to lead the
Israelites into the Promised Land. They are no longer bound by the hopelessness of
trying to live a perfect life under the law.
Aside from the similarities between the actual stories, there is other evidence to
support the connection between Joshua and Jesus, such as the actual names of the
two. According to Uittenbogaard, in Hebrew Joshua is actually composed of two
parts. The first part directly means the name of God, or YHWH. The second part of
Joshua means to save or to deliver . When put together the common English
translation is The Lord saves . Joshua is also from the original Hebrew form of the
Greek name Jesus. During the ministry of Jesus, both names may have been very
similar in pronunciation, if not the same altogether (Uittenbogaard). Certainly, this
point is not black and white, and there are many interpretations about the various
origins and usage of the
Sympathy In The Phantom Of The Opera
Some people would say that it is wrong to not feel sympathy for someone.
Everyone s life is hard in different ways, but some people just don t deserve it. In
the novel, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, this happens to be the
case. A deformed human, who lives in the Opera House, has done many bad things
and doesn t deserve to have anyone s pity. The real definition of sympathy is:
feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else s misfortune (123). This does not
apply to the Phantom because ultimately we should not sympathize with his
character. He had a bad past and he does not care about others which leads him to
kill and torture people for no apparent reason; why should we feel pity for someone
who does such things? The Phantom has not only done bad things while he has lived
in the Opera; everything started in the past when he was young. Children learn
from their parents and as they get older they tend to do a lot of the same things, in
the same way, that their parents do. ... My mother, daroga, my poor, unhappy
mother would never ... let me kiss her ... she used to run away ... and throw me my
mask! (167). His mother never felt sorry for him. This might have been what led
him into doing bad things as he got older; all because he wasn t loved. This does not
mean that we should sympathize with him though, because everything that he did
was his own choice. No one made him do what he did. Back when he was in
Mazenderan working for the Little Sultana, he murdered
Autobiography Of The Vaudeville Era
The Vaudeville Era was an incredibly influential time for American musical theatre.
It s existence gave rise to several performers from classic vaudeville acts to Ziegfeld
Follies performers, and burlesque dancers. From (and contributing to) it s death
sprang popular new mediums of performance and entertainment (Revue, Radio,
Talkies, and Burlesque). There is little surprise that nostalgia for vaudevillebegan
closely after its death and continues to influence many forms of American
entertainment today. Gypsy is story about a family vaudeville centered act trying
to make it in a time when vaudeville was dying out. The story contains content
about vaudeville and burlesque as it is a biography of the famous burlesque
performer Gypsy Rose Lee. Gypsy followed Gypsy Rose Lee from vaudeville to
burlesque. Burlesque was synonymous with stripping at this time and is partially
credited with killing vaudeville. In the movie Gypsy , the narrator and mother of
Miss Gypsy Rose Lee made a comment about how washed up vaudeville acts go to
burlesque . because the narration was done from the point of view of Gypsy s
mother, the vernacular included early to mid 1900 s slang such as the big time (best
vaudeville circuit / Orpheum Circuit) and banana oil (a ridiculous or wrong
statement). Gypsy features many musical numbers, many of which are the musical
acts performed by Gypsy throughout her life; both in vaudeville and burlesque. The
musical style is on key with vaudeville,
Naomi Wolf The Beauty Myths
Mythbusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman tackle the countless legends and
myths of the 21st century, but could they bust the Beauty Myth as well as Naomi
Wolf? Her novel, The Beauty Myth, takes a look at Western sexism during the
nineties, where the Beauty Myth is defined as an impossible beauty standard put
into place by men in power to continue the oppression of women. A decade later, the
context of this book is still relevant; though some things have changed, there is still
much to be done if women everywhere want to bust this myth for good. Throughout
the book, Wolf argues sexism is used as a tool of oppression, primarily to keep
women from moving into power. In the chapter, Work, the author used countless legal

The rise of juvenile delinquencies was at its highest between 1951 and 1960 in the
Lower East Side compared to all of the New York City neighborhoods (Mele, 2000,
p.138). Heroin contributed to the surge of crime in the LES and its use was very
popular among the poor. Crime was rampant in the LES and it was mostly evident
around avenues east of Avenue B where most Puerto Ricans lived. When the
Puerto Ricans first entered the Lower East Side, they became scapegoats to the
LES s crime problem. They were labeled as criminals of the neighborhood. Gang
violence was very prominent and active which was due to common turf wars
between minority youth gangs (Mele, 2000). They were also blamed for the
reappearance and spread of the slum present already in the Lower East Side. By
1953, as Puerto Ricans in migration peaked, slum committees were pressed to deal
with the growing Puerto Rican problem . To deal with the Puerto Rican problem ,
there was an urban renewal project put into place called the Puerto Rican Removal
Plans , where they relocated many Hispanic families from poor neighborhoods into
other poor areas when they couldn t discourage Hispanic migration to the Lower East

1.0 Introduction: The country of Cameroon is considered a third world country and
the production and quality of energy matches this view. Rural Cameroon
experiences many black outs and is in constant need of more energy for the
population to perform basic tasks such as cooking with greater ease and with a
higher knowledge of hygiene. The main issue is the quality of the generated power;
this is a result of the method of production and transportation of the power.
The government s priorities are another term to address as the main focus is on
abolishing poverty. This is a good goal, however the emphasis should be placed
elsewhere for the start of maximum growth. So there is a primary need for engineers
to communicate how energy production can shape their society. So a choice needs to
be made in terms of energy production that has maximal social and environmental
bonuses.
2.0 Problem Definition:
Cameroon faces many difficulties in terms of power generation and power
transportation as stated before. There are many areas that need to be considered so
for the sake of this report, the most crucial areas will be considered. The issues are
listed in no particular order below.

Low Self Esteem
What is self esteem? Self esteem is how we perceive ourselves. How we evaluate
our self worth affects nearly every aspect of our lives. Low self esteem can
negatively affect our outlook on life and ourselves. Low self esteem can also cause
major psychological problems like anxiety and depression and may also cause mental
health issues. In this assignment, I will be summing up the information I gathered to
support the argument that low self esteemis a major cause of psychological problems.
William James wrote what is considered the most important book in the history of
modern day psychology. The Principles of Psychology. In one of James chapters he
explained that self esteem was recognized from the idea, identity. In discussing the
me self, James wrote of three different but connected parts of self: the material self
(all those parts of material existence in which we feel a strong sense of ownership,
our bodies, our families, the things we own), the social self (our felt social
relations), and our spiritual self (our feelings of our own (judging things based on
opinions and preferences instead of facts). These aspects were then treated in
terms of connected or related feelings of self worth and self looking actions. James
made three major additions to self explanation. He voiced that the way of thinking
of social selves ( a man has as many social selves because others have an image of
him as well) and characterized confidence as far as the proportion of victories to
The Issue Of Global Politics
What do you believe to be the most pressing issue in global politics today?
Climate change is a large scale, long term shift in the planet s weather patterns or
average temperatures . In 2006, Al Gore highlighted a problem hinted at for years,
climate change, in his documentary The Inconvenient Truth, and this essay will
explain why this problem is still the most important issue in global politics, despite
receiving less coverage in world press. With major problems such as rising sea
levels and more extreme temperatures already being seen in many areas across the
world, it seems that global politics could not face a more pressing issue, as this
potentially effects everyone in the world, it s not a discriminatory problem, be that ...

This distraction away from the problem of climate change has been crucial in actually
making climate change even more important to discuss now, as we can see the
effects that it is having across the world now, and in our predictions for the future.
With the melting of the polar ice caps, rising sea levels and greater threats of
natural events such as hurricanes and earthquakes; it seems that this is the
problem that effects the most people, and the one very few are talking about,
explained by Alan Rusbridger here The changes may be happening too fast for
human comfort, but they happen too slowly for the newsmakers and, to be fair, for
most readers While difficult to dismiss the vast amounts of issues we all face, be it
in the UK, in Europe or Internationally, it is hard to understand why out of the 5
large UK parties standing in the General Election, only the Liberal Democrats and
the Green party have included climate change reducing measures in their manifestos
to any great length. In the United States both the Democrats and the Republicans
have declined to include any substantial measures for the 2016 Presidential election
so far, the trend is the same across most western democracies. So despite the
impeding threat of this serious issue, it as taken a back seat, as the electorate s
thoughts and opinions are often directed by the media they expose themselves to, and
there are very few
Analysis Of The Mayor Of Casterbridge And Ved Vyas s...
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Feministic approach towards a text has developed a multitude of ways to unpack
literature in order to understand its essence. Scholars commonly known as Feminine
Critique sought to divorce literary analysis away from abstract diction based
arguments and instead tailored their criticism to more grounded pieces of literature
like plot, characters, and so on and recognize the implicit misogyny of the structure
of the story itself. My paper on The Disparate Treatment of Patriarchy in The Mayor
of Casterbridge and The Mahabharata throws a feministic light in Thomas Hardy s and
Ved Vyas s works. Through my paper I want to particularly highlight the treatment of
patriarchy given to the female protagonists. I want to highlight the different manners
of their treatment or response towards patriarchy and how even their being
belonging to different origins and literary periods does not improve the status of
female characters in literature. My work will mainly focus on the take of the female
protagonists in the given situations and the different manners in which they deal with
it. I also want to emphasize the status quo of women in the society that we ve grown
out of and in the present scenario. The paper is entitled The Disparate Treatment of
Patriarchy in The Mayor of Casterbridge and The Mahabharata in which I ve tried to
bring into light the different manners of treatment of patriarchy by the female
protagonists in both the aforementioned
Comparing Cisneros Border Crossings And Beyond
As Carmen Rivera states in Border Crossings and Beyond, The predominant image
of docile, submissive, nurturing, and effacing women who relegate their own needs
and personal desires to tend to needs of others, particularly the men and children in
their families, gives way to literary representations of assertive, self supporting,
tenacious, and strong willed women who assume control of their lives and
circumstances (Rivera, Border Crossings and Beyond ). In the short story Woman
Hollering Creek, CleГіfilas is defenseless in an abusive marriage. By writing about
voiceless woman like CleГіfilas, Cisneros paves the way for the woman like the
narrator in His Story who doesn t give into culturally inscribed genderroles. It s

Why Phenotypic Plasticity Is Present
Introduction
The plants used in this experiment were the Arabidopsis thaliana. The Arabidopsis
species is characterized as a weed , a plant with no benefit when it comes to food,
shelter, or medicine (Meinke Koornneef, 2010). Yet, it is considered the model
research plant by many scientists across the world because they are small and can
grow very fast. Meinke and Koornneef (2010) explain that scientists want to be able
to collect as much data as quickly as possible, so a small, fast growing plant is
going to help make discoveries much more rapidly than a longer growing crop
plant. The Arabidopsis plant is also very convenient to study its genes because of its
small genome. A small genome makes it efficient to see how a plant s genes... Show

Lutz et al. (2015) state that plants integrate seasonal cues such as temperature and day
length to optimally adjust their flowering time to the environment. The knowledge
about the adaptation of plants to changing temperatures at present is limited, but
becoming increasingly important due to the temperature changes associated with
global warming (Lutz et al. 2015). This leads to a hypothesis that as temperature
increases, rosette size and height of plant will decrease.
Methods
24 plants of the species Arabidopsis thaliana were grown at two temperatures
(20В°C and 24В°C) in Percival growth chambers, half at 20В°C and half 24В°C.
The plants were randomized into a design that consisted of 12 flats in two growth
chambers. The seedlings were then transferred to three inch pots on standard ProMix
potting soil and bottom watered in their trays, two times per week to assure that the
potting mix remained moist. Each group will have two different accessions; Natural
Population A and Natural Population B. Natural Population A represents species
extracted from Market Baden, Germany. Natural Population B represents species
extracted from Merzhausen, Germany. Each accession will have six plants growing
under 20В°C and 24В°C. All 24 plants were then looked at to measure the rosette
size, the distance from the center stalk to the edge of the leaves. All measurements
were reported in centimeters using a ruler. The plants were measured in two spans
that were
Advertising And Marketing Plan For A San Diego
Advertising...
NKLIK strives to help clients achieve their business goal, using a variety of
techniques to accomplish this. When a business turns to a San Diego advertising
agency, they need to ensure the advertising services are incorporated into a larger
marketing plan, one that draws attention from the target audience. One mistake many
business owners make is they confuse marketingand advertising, yet these are two
distinct things. Advertising serves as a small part of a comprehensive marketing
plan, one that also incorporates things such as pay per click marketing, search engine
optimization, local SEO and more. When all areas are addressed, businesses find
they gain a larger market share and increase revenue and profits in the process.

To further improve the search engine ranking of a site, a company must ensure they
have a site that is worthy of links. Many search engine optimization companies
suggest clients use the term click here as a keyword, for example, yet this truly does
nothing to improve the site s search engine ranking. It s best to use a specific
keyword in situations such as this, as they provide value to the search engine.
Companies should never use images, videos and flash without accompanying text,
yet many continue to do so. The software currently used by the search engines only
reads text, in most cases, although some crawlers do have the ability to scan flash
files. Simply add a description for each image, video or flash in the alt text. This
requires the use of HTML code though, and many business owners don t have this
knowledge either. In situations such as this, it s best to turn to a professional
advertising agency San Diego for assistance to ensure the content may be found.
One thing many business owners fail to realize is free web hosting sites typically
aren t free. In fact, many place advertisements on a website, yet don t alert the
website owner to this data. It s hidden text, however, and search often penalize for
hidden text. The website owner is then left wondering what they did wrong and why
their search engine ranking is rapidly

To further understand the text one must know the literary devices present in The
Lottery. In the short story The Lottery there is a theme of tradition. The citizens all
blindly followed the tradition of the lottery while barely remembering its origin or
reasoning. Each year the town came together to have its lottery. It was said that the
lotterywas done each year so that they would have good crops but many of the
citizens had forgotten its purpose.
While waiting for the ceremony to begin the children picked stones and the adults
chatted nervously. Mrs. Tessie Hutchinson, the protagonist, arrived late which
foreshadowed her bad luck to come. Mr. Summers was the man in charge of the
lottery. He brought the same black wooden box each year ... Show more content on

a) Aircraft Product Support
The product support is defined as a set of aftermarket services, processes and
procedures established by the aircraft manufacturers to assist the airline operations
and to ensure that the aircraft and its components remain functional during the life
time of the aircraft.
In order to achieve this sustainable support, the aircraft Manufacturers produce tri

A2)Support Materials Cost reductions Warranty claims
The warranty terms and related contractual remedies are considered for the airline,
one of the main sources maintenance costs reduction in case of reported failures. The
warranty effect normally extends 48 months out of Aircraft age. The airline incurs
only routine maintenance costs during this period if they have introduced efficient
processes to capture all warranty opportunities. Some airlines with MRO attachment
can also generate some profits from the warranty business where they recover the
costs plus a certain margin they made out of manpower either from their own airline
or a third party airline customer.
The Introduction of new aircraft received with a comprehensive warranty support
normally during the first years of aircraft age hence contributing significantly to
maintenance cost reduction. The guarantees last for much longer normally ten years
of Aircraft age. It is anticipated that during this period and in case of reliability
issues, OEMs will intervene and offer product support which includes free repairs
/loaner and modification.
Furthermore, the OEMs provide below remedies under the PSA terms:
Free of charge repairs/replacements for parts.
Materials and Labour reimbursement cost for defect corrections.
No charge replacement parts for rogue parts.

Code Switching Essay
In this world, there are a lot of languages used to communicate. Nation and cultural
diversity are a source of variation in the languages. The diversity of the language
used by a particular group is a factor of the occurrence of bilingualism. According
to Grosjean (1984, p. 1) bilingualism is the use of two or more languages. The
proficiency of bilingualism may vary depending on the exposure to the other users of
language and opportunities to use the language. It is one of the factors of
replacement of the language. This phenomenon known as code switching, it can
occur as a whole, the incorporating elements of other languages in the language being
used, or the turn of a variation of a language. Based on Poplack (1980) theory code
switching is the alternation of two languages within a single discourse, sentence or
constituent. Garrett (2010, p. 11) said that code switching is the most powerful
feature of informal communication. Code switching happens when speakers speak in
one language into another language as example when they... Show more content on

classrooms, she stated that the teachers are not creating appropriate atmosphere and
encouraging the students interest in learning English. In contrast from socio cultural
perspective, the presence of code switched communication in EFL classrooms
encourages capability of using both languages effectively and creative language use
(Dahl, Rice, Steffensen, Amundsen, 2010). As for the students attitude based on
Suganda (2012) and Hamied (2014) studies reveal that students have a positive
attitude towards the use of code switching in EFL classrooms. They feel code

Too many people think statistics is difficult though, but it is all around them in real life. Three main descriptive statistics which make data easier to interpret, measure central tendency. They are the mean, measured, and median. Each of these are averages, which everyone is exposed to in everyday life (Stapel, n.d.). All three have specific uses in real life. The Mode The first measure, the mode, is the most popular score. To find the mode, one tallies the frequency of each number or value. The mode becomes the group that occurs the most frequently (Averages, n.d.). A set of numbers may have more than one mode when an equal number of occurrences takes place at more than one value. • 6. The Poisoning Effects of Smoking Smoking tobacco has been practiced for years. People worldwide view smoking as a lifestyle and smoked for pleasure and relaxation. During the 19th century it was considered fashionable to be seen taking a puff from a cigarette. At that time, the world was blind to the negative effects of smoking tobacco. However, during the 20th century, scientific research began and The American Cancer Society began to emphasize the health risks of smokingcigarettes. By 1964 a Surgeon s General warning was seen on every pack of cigarettes across the U.S. linking smoking to lung cancer. Even with the astounding evidence of the health effects, cigarettesmoking continues to claim the lives of thousands of Americans each year. Cigarette smoking causes permanent damage for not only the smoker, but the non smoker and environment as well. If the U.S. government were to ban cigarette smoking all together, there will be a positive change in the well being of Americans everywhere. The counterargument against the prohibition of cigarette smoking is that cigarette The poisons found in cigarette smoke are deadly and destructive to the smoker. • 7. Pros And Methods Of The Nursing Process The Nursing process is a scientific method used by nurses to ensure the quality of patient care. Broken down into five separate steps; assessing; diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all nurses must be familiar with the nursing process. Nonetheless a student name Amy wants to improve her grades. She had learned about using the nursing process during class a couple of days ago and if it works for planning patient care, why can it not work for her? Though we won t go through all the nursing process steps, we will apply some of those steps to help Amy create a successful study plan to pass her classes. In the first step of the nursing process; assessment, the nurse gathers information about a patient. Amy can gather data on her study habits by figuring out what type of learner she is to incorporate that learning style into her study habits, assessing her current grades and keeping records, and testing her knowledge to see what she current knows. The first most important thing that Amy can assess is how she learns. Is she an auditory, visual or kinetics learning? Once Amy is able to establish which learning method works better for her, she can incorporate that learning method to study successfully. Amy assessing her grades can give her a better understand where her GPA currently stands. Is it low enough that even if she studies, she still won t pass? Is her GPA high enough to when she does studies she ll get an A ? All of these have to be considered. Also keeping
  • 8. The Sputnik Scare And Its Effects On The World s... The Sputnik scare. On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched the world s first manmade satellite into orbit. The satellite, known as Sputnik, did not do much other than send radio waves from its transmitters as it circled the Earth. Yet, to many Americans, Sputnik was evidence of something alarming. The Soviets success suggested that they might be capable of launching intercontinental ballistic missiles and they were ahead of the United States in scientific and military technology. In response, the federal government formed new agencies, such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Defense s Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), to develop cutting edge technologies such as rockets, weapons and computers (Moschovitis et al. 1999: 39). The birth of the ARPAnet. According to Grillies and Cailliau (2000), scientists and military experts were especially concerned about a Soviet attack on the nation s telephone system and how much of an impact it would have on governmental communication. They feared that just a single missile could destroy the whole network that made efficient long distance communication possible. To solve this problem, a scientist from M.I.T. and ARPA known as J.C.R. Licklider proposed an intergalactic network of computers that could communicate with one another. Such a network would allow government leaders to communicate even if the Soviets destroyed the telephone system (Grillies et al. 2000: 12 15). In
  • 9. The Reforms Of Gaius Marius And The Aftereffects Of The... The first century BC brought about a number of important changes for the Roman army. Most notably, the reforms of Gaius Marius and the aftereffects of both the Social and Civil Wars altered the Roman army as a whole. Bringing about both continuity and change, these events would help to shape the nature, composition and character of the army of the Late Republic period and beyond. Change came in the form of reforms brought about by Marius; the changing of the conscription of soldiers into the Roman army would alter not only the formation of the army, but also its nature and character. Furthermore, the granting of full citizenship to non Roman troops who fought for the Roman army meant a blurring of a distinct Roman identity, or what it meant to be a Roman. However, despite these aspects of change, continuity too came out of this period. The troops of the army post Marian reforms developed strong patron client relationships with their generals that were not unlike the concept of the paterfamilias that had existed since the beginnings of Rome. Furthermore, leadership of the army was put into the hands of a select few, as it always had been, and these men would use the army as a means to further their personal ambitions. The largest of these changes to the Roman army were arguably the changes Gaius Marius made in the conscription of soldiers. Conscription pre Marius took the form of the state issuing a property requirement for soldiers who wished to join the army. These men

The water imagery of John 7 is sourced in Old Testament narrative; Israel s experience at Meribah overflows into Jesus encounter, and the story challenges readers with the age old choice between grumbling and belief. Jesus says in this passage that whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. Claiming this is vital to John s narrative, the listener of Jesus and reader of the Gospel. The importance is increased through the historical significance of the Feast of Booths. Water and Feast of Booths Jesus statement of living water comes at an opportune moment. John did not place this event unwittingly into the narrative of the story. The Feast of Booths, according to Josephus, was the greatest and most holy of the Jewish festivals. The celebration would have drawn large crowds; many would have been gathered as each Jewish male was expected to make the pilgrimage to Jerusalem for the celebration (CITATION). Jesus made his claims around the Temple; there would have been plenty of festival goers around to listen and hear him. His audience also would have understood the significance of his statements in relation to the events occurring around them. The feast makes sense of Jesus use of water imagery. A water libation ceremony was one of the most visual sacraments performed at the feast. Each day, priests, along with a following of pilgrims, would walk to the Pool of Siloam and fill a jar with its water. Walking back into the city through the Water Gate, the priest would take the jar to the Temple where an

Music Man originally written by AUTHOR NAME is a fine example of dance unveiling a story through numerous elements. In this piece danceexpresses a tale of an outgoing man turning an old fashioned, strict town into a lively place for everyone, especially the children. As the musical moves along, dance elements enhance the transitions of the town from an unloving and separate city, to a converging village, and finally to a fully united community. With strategic planning, the choreographer succeeds in conveying the message of a changing town. Notably, the musical opens to a large group of men bickering in a train station, a relevant example of a hateful city. Through dance, the gentlemen utilize a small dimension by vibrating, which represents how the men keep to themselves and do not reach out for new ideas. Also, the fast small movements indicate aggression, which is supported through their audio accompaniment of arguing. In a broader scheme, the vibrations portray the town as aggressive and attached to old ways. Comparatively, the next dance includes a movement across the stage when discussing how the children s behavior will be negatively affected from any kind of change in the town. A macroeconomic shock came in the form of the Russian Financial Crisis (RFC). This preceded the Global Financial Crisis. As a result of the RFC, Pibrex s sales slipped even further and management was now fully involved in crisis management with the ultimate goal being survival. Whereas in the past Pibrex had relied on a decentralized governance structure, on this occasion, Pibrex formed a steering committee to direct strategy in its Russian operations. The steering committee reassigned Elena as the new Financial Controller and asked her to perform a financial audit on all of Pibrex s Russian operations. • 18. Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources from less to more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most. This process of exchange does not face many obstacles when the parties to a transaction can perform their obligations in a simultaneous manner. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. This is why protection of contract rights is essential. While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any form of contract law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward economic activity that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce efficiency in the market and lead to misallocation of resources. Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect how parties interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him. The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.

He bettered the lives of Argentinians such as improving the public health system, increasing working wages, as well as granting the power for women to vote (Partnoy 11). During this time, Alicia Partnoy, the author of The Little School, was involved in a political youth group who tried to fulfill the needs of Argentinians. However in 1975, Peron died and his third wife, Isabel Peron, took over as president and did not represent the needs of the working class. Instead, the power was left to the military who attacked, kidnapped, and killed political youth groups or any political activists that threatened the country s security (Partnoy 11). The... These real life experiences are difficult to share, thus Partnoy skims over certain details in the stories and may not be completely accurate accounts of what occurred. In the first story of Partnoy s book, The One Flower Slippers , she describes how she was captured by the military officials and sent to the secret detention center. Throughout her story, Partnoy uses the pronouns she and her instead of I . When the soldiers grabbed her, forcing her into a truck...afterward she looked up: the sky was so blue that it hurt...she does not remember exactly the day it all happened... (Partnoy 25 26). This indicates that the story was written in a third person point of view, which means the reader is not told the upfront details about the kidnapping but imaginary aspects bridge the moments together like a summary rather than a minute for minute transcription. These experiences from the secret detention centers were harsh, gruesome, and heartbreaking; therefore these fictional stories allow the reader to digest and conceive the violent conditions and hardships that victims endured without knowing all the violent factual details. Hence some stories in the book may have glossed over certain parts, but it displays what happened in a light hearted and

  • 22. The Birth Of Older Women Essay For the mother, babies can make them feel and appear younger. In the early to mid twenties is when a woman will have the most energy but are much less likely than a woman over 35 to be financially stable, be established in their work life and have the resources to look after and care for a baby. Older women will also have more life experience and maturity to draw on in rearing a child and looking after a baby. Younger mothers are known to sometimes feel resentful at having to postpone their jobs to look after a baby but older mothers are usually wanting and ready for a baby so unlikely to feel that same resentment. Also younger women tend to worry a lot more about their body image at that age as well as focussing on jobs or marriage and adding a baby into the mix can just be too much. An older woman is likely to be more stable in a relationship and therefore more likely to deal well with the changes that parenthood brings. Older women will have had many more years to think over what a baby will mean and are more likely than a younger woman to be emotionally ready to have a child. The older one is, the more mature and patient one will be with a child, in theory. Younger mothers, very young that is, find it hard in today s society as it is not generally geared towards helping mothers in or barely out of school. John Mirowsky, a sociologist at the University of Texas, wrote that for ages 20 and younger pregnancyis more likely to happen out of wedlock, more likely to interfere

The Meaning Of Faith In Kiierkegaard s Fear And Trembling Vonzyl Taylor Paper 3 PHIL2310 The Meaning of Life Professor LaMendola Fall 2017 Leap of Faith In the selection from Kierkegaard s Fear and Trembling, explain the aesthetic man, ethical man, and knight of faith. How does this do each of these people figure into Kierkegaard s argument for taking a leap of faith ? Using Kierkegaard s argument, explain whether or not the story of Abraham is describes a meaningful life. Kierkegaard s ideas on the meaning of life are conveyed in his writings of Fear and Trembling. In the selection, Kierkegaard speaks of three different types of people in three different stages of life. The aesthetic man, the ethical man, and the knight of faith. Each man, having a different meaning in life during each stage, eventually reaching the ultimate meaning of life. In the following, I will explain how each of these men fit into Kierkegaard s argument for taking a leap of faith , as well as explain Why Abraham s life is a meaningful life based off of Kierkegaard s argument. Kierkegaard believes there are three stages in life, The aesthetic, The ethical, and the religious. He also believes that one cannot reach the next stage in succession until he has negated everything in the previous stage of life. The first stage is the aesthetic stage in life. A man living life through aesthetics is known as the aesthetic man. The aesthetic man seeks pleasures for himself. He only engages in things that bring him pleasure. At this moment in his life, morals do not matter. They are not used as guidelines on how to live life. They are completely ignored. At this stage in life, man s meaning is to heighten all individual pleasures. The Aesthetic man can be all different ages. He can be the 18 year old leaving his parents home, ignoring all of the morals his parents tried to enforce on him. The 18 year old now has ultimate freedom and can do whatever he please, or pleases him [ as he only seeks things and activities that will bring happiness and pleasure]. The aesthetic level can be the level one is born into automatically. If we raise up a child without sharing any moral ideas with the child, he will most likely indulge in pleasures to alleviate pain and boredom. To imagine an aesthetic man, think of

These different factors could also be linked with one another depending on the particular individual suffering with the mental illness. Fava and Kendler proposed that there are four major risk factors associated with MDD, these include; gender, stressful life events, adverse childhood experiences and certain personality traits (Fava Kendler, 2000). For an individual to have experienced a major depressive episode specific symptoms must last for a duration of at least two weeks where the person experiences depressed moods and showcase a lack of interest or pleasure in the majority of activities. In young adults and children the mood may seem more irritable than depressed, however this is not seen across all individuals. People suffering from this depressive state will also have to experience at least four additional symptoms for it to be classed as MDD, these can include; Fluctuations in weight; changes to the individuals sleep pattern, and psychomotor activity; feelings of worthlessness or guilt. Individuals may also find it difficult to think, concentrate, or to make decisions. Recurrent thoughts of death and /or suicide are also typical symptoms that an individual might have when suffering with MDD (DSM IV, 2005). There are a variety of different approaches for the treatment of MDD one being the psychodynamic approach. This seems to focus on the assumption that an

Public supply water usages would have to deal with domestic, commercial, industrial purposes, and public serves such as pool, parks, firefighting, etc. Public water supply plays a huge role in many counties, and communities. The reason why is because the public water supply systems that are located in these counties /communities are government or facilities that are privately run. • 35. An Essay Comparing Joshua and Jesus At first glance Joshua seems to just be a story of the Israelites and the settling of the Promised Land, however, there may also be a prophetic vision of God s plan for Salvation of His people. The book of Joshua shows the difference between living a life, like Moses, under the Law of the Old Testament and under the freedom, which came from JesusChrist, as Joshua did. One could certainly make a strong case that Joshua 1 6 can be looked at as a metaphor of Jesus Christ and man s salvation through Him. The evidence ranges from Joshua s name to the meaning of the Jordan River. The implications would mean that Godwas discretely showing the IsraelitesHis plan for future salvation well over a thousand years before Christ.Joshua chapters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A divine act from God allowed the Israelites to cross. The coming of Jesus Christ around 1400 years later is a stunning parallel to this part of the story. Since the law was not the complete solution to the problem of man and sin, what was? The people needed some kind of medium to be able to cross from sin into a relationship with God. This medium would come from God sending His son, Jesus, to help cross the river . This was just as how God chose Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. They are no longer bound by the hopelessness of trying to live a perfect life under the law. Aside from the similarities between the actual stories, there is other evidence to support the connection between Joshua and Jesus, such as the actual names of the two. According to Uittenbogaard, in Hebrew Joshua is actually composed of two parts. The first part directly means the name of God, or YHWH. The second part of Joshua means to save or to deliver . When put together the common English translation is The Lord saves . Joshua is also from the original Hebrew form of the Greek name Jesus. During the ministry of Jesus, both names may have been very similar in pronunciation, if not the same altogether (Uittenbogaard). Certainly, this point is not black and white, and there are many interpretations about the various origins and usage of the
  • 36. Sympathy In The Phantom Of The Opera Some people would say that it is wrong to not feel sympathy for someone. Everyone s life is hard in different ways, but some people just don t deserve it. In the novel, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, this happens to be the case. A deformed human, who lives in the Opera House, has done many bad things and doesn t deserve to have anyone s pity. The real definition of sympathy is: feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else s misfortune (123). This does not apply to the Phantom because ultimately we should not sympathize with his character. He had a bad past and he does not care about others which leads him to kill and torture people for no apparent reason; why should we feel pity for someone who does such things? The Phantom has not only done bad things while he has lived in the Opera; everything started in the past when he was young. Children learn from their parents and as they get older they tend to do a lot of the same things, in the same way, that their parents do. ... My mother, daroga, my poor, unhappy mother would never ... let me kiss her ... she used to run away ... and throw me my mask! (167). His mother never felt sorry for him. This might have been what led him into doing bad things as he got older; all because he wasn t loved. This does not mean that we should sympathize with him though, because everything that he did was his own choice. No one made him do what he did. Back when he was in Mazenderan working for the Little Sultana, he murdered
  • 37. Autobiography Of The Vaudeville Era The Vaudeville Era was an incredibly influential time for American musical theatre. It s existence gave rise to several performers from classic vaudeville acts to Ziegfeld Follies performers, and burlesque dancers. From (and contributing to) it s death sprang popular new mediums of performance and entertainment (Revue, Radio, Talkies, and Burlesque). There is little surprise that nostalgia for vaudevillebegan closely after its death and continues to influence many forms of American entertainment today. Gypsy is story about a family vaudeville centered act trying to make it in a time when vaudeville was dying out. The story contains content about vaudeville and burlesque as it is a biography of the famous burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee. Gypsy followed Gypsy Rose Lee from vaudeville to burlesque. Burlesque was synonymous with stripping at this time and is partially credited with killing vaudeville. In the movie Gypsy , the narrator and mother of Miss Gypsy Rose Lee made a comment about how washed up vaudeville acts go to burlesque . because the narration was done from the point of view of Gypsy s mother, the vernacular included early to mid 1900 s slang such as the big time (best vaudeville circuit / Orpheum Circuit) and banana oil (a ridiculous or wrong statement). Gypsy features many musical numbers, many of which are the musical acts performed by Gypsy throughout her life; both in vaudeville and burlesque. The musical style is on key with vaudeville,

A decade later, the context of this book is still relevant; though some things have changed, there is still much to be done if women everywhere want to bust this myth for good. Throughout the book, Wolf argues sexism is used as a tool of oppression, primarily to keep women from moving into power. Rural Cameroon experiences many black outs and is in constant need of more energy for the population to perform basic tasks such as cooking with greater ease and with a higher knowledge of hygiene. The main issue is the quality of the generated power; this is a result of the method of production and transportation of the power. The government s priorities are another term to address as the main focus is on abolishing poverty. This is a good goal, however the emphasis should be placed elsewhere for the start of maximum growth. So there is a primary need for engineers to communicate how energy production can shape their society. So a choice needs to be made in terms of energy production that has maximal social and environmental bonuses. 2.0 Problem Definition: Cameroon faces many difficulties in terms of power generation and power transportation as stated before. There are many areas that need to be considered so for the sake of this report, the most crucial areas will be considered. The issues are listed in no particular order below. 1.Culture: The people of
  • 42. Low Self Esteem What is self esteem? Self esteem is how we perceive ourselves. How we evaluate our self worth affects nearly every aspect of our lives. Low self esteem can negatively affect our outlook on life and ourselves. Low self esteem can also cause major psychological problems like anxiety and depression and may also cause mental health issues. In this assignment, I will be summing up the information I gathered to support the argument that low self esteemis a major cause of psychological problems. William James wrote what is considered the most important book in the history of modern day psychology. The Principles of Psychology. In one of James chapters he explained that self esteem was recognized from the idea, identity. In discussing the me self, James wrote of three different but connected parts of self: the material self (all those parts of material existence in which we feel a strong sense of ownership, our bodies, our families, the things we own), the social self (our felt social relations), and our spiritual self (our feelings of our own (judging things based on opinions and preferences instead of facts). These aspects were then treated in terms of connected or related feelings of self worth and self looking actions. James made three major additions to self explanation. He voiced that the way of thinking of social selves ( a man has as many social selves because others have an image of him as well) and characterized confidence as far as the proportion of victories to

Scholars commonly known as Feminine Critique sought to divorce literary analysis away from abstract diction based arguments and instead tailored their criticism to more grounded pieces of literature like plot, characters, and so on and recognize the implicit misogyny of the structure of the story itself. My paper on The Disparate Treatment of Patriarchy in The Mayor of Casterbridge and The Mahabharata throws a feministic light in Thomas Hardy s and Ved Vyas s works. Through my paper I want to particularly highlight the treatment of patriarchy given to the female protagonists. The diversity of the language used by a particular group is a factor of the occurrence of bilingualism. According to Grosjean (1984, p. 1) bilingualism is the use of two or more languages. The proficiency of bilingualism may vary depending on the exposure to the other users of language and opportunities to use the language. It is one of the factors of replacement of the language. This phenomenon known as code switching, it can occur as a whole, the incorporating elements of other languages in the language being used, or the turn of a variation of a language.
