Endangered Species Research Paper
Period: 2
Hasn t the world lost enough? Animals are harmed by letting nature take its course, meaning
climate changes, deforestation, etc. Human poaching is a major contributor also. Extinctions have
occurred throughout our planet s natural history. Some species develop as others die out, making
space in the ecosystem for those best suited to any given habitat s natural conditions. Long before
human beings arrived, fossil records show that populations of animals evolved, thrived, declined,
and became extinct. (Sexton)
When animal or plant species die out, the food chain ecosystem has to recuperate because when
one species is taken out, its ruins the majority of the food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As of its current 2012 Red List of Threatened Species, which is a list of species that are threatened
of extinction, the IUCN, The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural
Resources, has evaluated 65,518 species. Of the total species included, 20,219 are listed as
threatened, up from 19,570 in 2011. Poaching and a disappearing habitat due to human
encroachment are considered the primary threats to these and other species (Sexton). If humans are
destroying animals habitats, causing them to be threatened or endangered then why don t
Conservationists put an end to the destruction of their habitats. If trees need to be cut down to say
build a house then conservationists need to be required to survey the area for species that could be
harmed or killed before any construction or destruction is performed. Sometimes you get too much
rain, which means floods. At other times there isn t enough, which means drought. Both are
dangerous. We can t do anything about the climate changing and the weather changing, it s nature
taking its course. When the climate changes excessively, species begin to die out because their
habitats eventually are destroyed. Habitats are destroyed due to glaciers melting or it being too hot
or too cold. When the climate changes and melts the glaciers, then the water temperature increases

Standard State Conservation Districts Law (1931-1939)
The Government started out in 1934 with the Taylor Grazing Act, which set restrictions on the use
of public lands for grazing, followed by a switch from free ranging cattle to feedlots (Naff). On
March 3, 1937, Arkansas became the first state to enact the Standard State Conservation Districts
Law (Dust Bowl 1931 1939). Other men started a business of erupting TNT in the sky to encourage
rainfall (Surviving the Dust Bowl). President Roosevelt ordered the Civilian Conservation Corps
to plant trees from Canada to Abilene, Texas, in a huge belt of more than two million to break the
wind, hold water in the soil, and keep the soil itself in place. Irrigation expansion was the most
essential solution to the drought for crop purposes, but discouraged due to water availability
(Marrin).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Farmers were paid close to a dollar an acre for the areas to which they applied the new farming
techniques. The land that was acquired from the displaced farmers were re seeded into grass to
prevent further wind erosion. Lorene White said, My dad was stubborn. The government would
try to help. He would just refuse. He didn t want to disgrace the family by receiving help
(Surviving the Dust Bowl). In 1941, rain poured down on the region, dust storms ceased, crops
thrived, economic prosperity returned, and the historic Dust Bowl was over. Contour planting
became another solution to the erosion problem; they plowed furrows that followed the slop of the
land instead of in a straight line

The Titanic Research Paper
The Titanic
The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding
with an iceberg in the morning of 15th April 1912 during her maiden voyage from Southampton to
New York City.
The RMS Titanic was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star
Line. It was built in Belfast by the Harland and Wolffshipyard with Thomas Andrews as her naval
architect.
There were around 2,224 passengers and crew on board the ship on her maiden voyage, of which
1,500 were lost.
The ship could accommodate 833 First Class Passengers, 614 Second Class Passengers and 1,006
Third Class Passengers, making a total passenger capacity of 2,453. In addition to this, her
capacity for crew members exceeded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Third Class facilities also including their own dining rooms as well as public areas including
deck space, a smoking room for men and a reading room for women, although these were not as
glamorous in design as the First Class facilities.
However, even though the facilities and accommodations for Third Class passengers were less
luxurious as First and Second Class, they were much better than on any other ships at the time. On
many North Atlantic ships, Third Class accommodation was little more than open dormitories were
hundreds of people were confined without adequate food or toilet facilities. White Star Line vessels
provided their Third Class passengers with small, but private and comfortable cabins
accommodating two, four, six, eight and ten passengers.
The Titanic carried a total of twenty lifeboats. Fourteen of these were standard wooden lifeboats
capable of carrying 65 people each, four collapsible lifeboats with wooden bottoms and collapsible
canvas sides with a total capacity of 47 people each, and two emergency cutters with the ability to
hold 40 people each. However, this meant that the Titanic only carried enough lifeboats for 1,178
people slightly more than half of the number on board, due to the belief that the ships s constuction

Assassination Attemps on Adolf Hitler
Researchers have proven that Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazis, killed more than 6 million Jews
in his lifetime. The resistance knew that they couldn t let him continue this behavior and needed
to take action. There were an estimated 42 attempts on assassinating Hitler but a man by the
name of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg came up the closest. Cornel Claus was a highly
respected man due to him being in the General Army Office as chief of staff, and because he led
an assassination attempt on Hitler, killing four Nazi officers. Claus was a very brave man for
not only trying to eliminate Hitler but also for his war actions. Stauffenberg was born and raised
in Upper Franconia, Germany November 15, 1907 ( Claus Almanac). He grew up into a noble
catholic family in Southern Germany. Claus went to high school looking to be an architect but
eventually pursued the military due to family history. He made a good decision by going into
the military because of his future actions. Claus was deployed as an officer in a cavalry regiment
in 1930. He eventually fought in Poland and France from 1939 1940 (Leaders). Soon afterward,
he was assigned to the army General Staff and for one month fought in North Africa at night
against the Germans. During the war in North Africa Claus was attacked while in an airplane and
lost his right hand, two fingers of his left hand, and his left eye. He must have had to change his

Same Kind Of Different As Me By Ron Hall And Denver Moore
Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore was a very easy read. In this short
story there are many controversial topics that are touched on. Although it was an easy read, I
thought it was very intellectually stimulating. This book made me question my faith and my
actions, which then ultimately lead to improvements and understandings in my own life. I do not
think the formatting was done all that well, but somehow the two separate authors seemed to
complement each other in alternating chapters. This book made me feel good and had lots of
meaningful moments. I even teared up a little when certain events happened (not a spoiler). This
book also makes apparent some issues that many people do not even realize. It has a very good

The Navajo Code Talker
Joseph Bruchac s novel Code Talker tells the story of the Navajo Code Talkers who played a
vital role in the US. conflict with Japan throughout World War II. The narrator, Ned Begay, is a
Navajo soldier who wonders why the Japanese supported the war so strongly while Americans
grew more fatigued of the war every day. After the war, he learns about an organization called
Tokubetsu KЕЌtЕЌ Keisatsu; although the name was often shortened to TokkЕЌ, this agency was
more notoriously known as the Thought Police. The agency was a military group that controlled
Japan s population by imprisoning or murdering anyone who spoke against the war movement or

The TokkЕЌ were more secretive than the Japanese Military Police, the Kempeitai. The military
police were rife and had more overall power. The Tokko were less known, but worked towards the
same goal of stifling the possibility of rebellion against the monarchy. Their official purpose being
to repress dangerous thoughts, the TokkЕЌ would be infamously known as the Thought Police.
Dangerous comprised anything anti government, anti emperor, leftist, and critical of the war. The
Thought Police also targeted labor unions, Koreans living in Japan, religious groups other than
shinto, communists, socialists, anarchists, and those thought to be breaking the Public Peace Act.
The TokkЕЌ used many undercover informants who secretly joined leftist organizations and
provided information about leaders and meetings to the Thought Police. The agents spied on people

Value Chain Analysis Of Perforce Helix
While Git is easily most popular choice for many developers in a range from small or large
companies around the world, there is an alternative enterprise orientation version control that
offers much better capabilities and that is called Perforce Helix. Because Helix is entirely
flexible, it offers its own native distribution version control features, security restrictions based on
the file level of user access, lock digital assets (or files) that cannot be merged, and supports your
favorite tools (applications and plugins). It is the only enterprise DVCS (Distributed Version

Risk Allocation Essay
RISK ALLOCATION IMPORTANCE IN PROJECT STRUCTURING AND CURRENT
PRACTICES
I.Introduction
Project finance is best understood in terms of a risk allocation which reconciles the potentially
conflicting objectives of borrowers and lenders by utilizing the long term economic and commercial
linkages between the sponsors, lenders and third party participants involved with a project.
(Howcroft Fadhley, 1998).
In theory, the basic principle of risk allocation for the project finance is Allocating project risks to
the most suitable participant whose risk preference is higher (Xiao, 2003).
Severe consequences follow from the failure to accurately identify and allocate risks. These
consequences often extend beyond the immediate parties to the ... Show more content on

In this paper, an extensive literature review is undertaken to evaluate the importance of risk
allocation to project stakeholders and discuss current practices. However, the complexity of this
topic is beyond the scope of this paper. Hence, the attention is towards the direct participants, even
though other stakeholders will also be tangentially mentioned. Also, as PPP is developing fast in
the area of project finance and its importance is increasing, I have used it to illustrate some of the
points made in the current risk allocation practices.
II.Importance of risk allocation in structuring from the angle of stakeholders
The structure of a project s financing depends on the industry the transaction is taking place, the
underlying business model and in particular the allocation of risks and responsibilities between the
individual partners (Weber Alfen, 2010).
Risk allocation is performed as part of the development of the project structure, which takes into
account the distribution of responsibilities and risks during the planning, construction, financing
and operating phases (Corner, 2006). The aim is to identify an efficient and effective structure that
optimises the costs of the project and ensures that the risk occurrences do not damage the project
(Delmon, 2009). According to Grimsey and Lewis (2007) risk allocation has two elements: optimal
risk management and value for money. The first implies that the

Dualism Argument Essay
You bring up some interesting points. Firstly, as I pointed out in my original post, I do not think
chemical imbalances and defects in the brain that cause a mental change in a person are
considered mental illness . Rather, I would consider them neurological defects that, given the
proper tools and/or medicine (possibly technology that we have not yet been able to create or
invent yet), can be corrected to average or normal levels.
Secondly, yes you are right that the brain is indeed not within the stomach. However, I would
encourage you to look into the Psychology school of thought known as Dualism. This philosophy
not only disagrees with your statement of the mind is part of the brain , but it also disagrees with
your statements that

The North American Free Trade Agreement Essay
The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is an agreement negotiated by three
countries; Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The main purpose of NAFTA is essentially to
reduce trade barriers in order to promote international commerce, and open up different industries
to trade, in particular textiles, agriculture, and automobile sectors. The introduction of NAFTA
completely transformed North American economic relations and led to unparalleled cooperation
between the U.S. Canada and Mexico. This research paper will look at the positive and negative
impacts of NAFTA and examine whether or not it has been overall successful in promoting
economic growth in its member nations. In order to answer this question, I will examine the
effects of NAFTA on the U.S., Mexico and Canada by focusing on the macroeconomic impact of
NAFTA, its influence on different economic sectors, and the dynamics of free trade between the
developed economies of the U.S. and Canada and an undeveloped country, Mexico Macroeconomic
Effects The formation of NAFTA put together a $19 trillion market comprised of around 470
million consumers. The large majority of economists concur that NAFTA has advanced the
economies of its members. Trade in the region has increased dramatically from 1993, from around
$290 billion to around $1.0 trillion in 2016 (Source). Other research into the macroeconomic impact
shows improvements, such as an increase in GDP, income, foreign investments, and lowering
unemployment.

Research Methodology And The Execution Of Slr
2.Research Method
This section provides an overview research method i.e. systematic literature review (SLR) used in
thesis research; it describes the research methodology, the design and the execution of SLR.
2.1 Overview of Systematic Literature Review
This section of chapter was to thoroughly define and go through systematic literature review
research method.
2.1.1 Definition
Kitchenham and Charters (2007) proposed that systematic literature review has been a widespread
research methodology since 1990s, but it was initiated by medical research where number of well
documented standards has evidently showed its use. While, since the year 2004, systematic reviews
are also performed by many software engineering researchers and number of important engineering
conferences also seek submissions in this research category. In addition to this many popular
journals and magazines have distinct section for papers, which are also based on this research
methodology. (Kitchenham Charters, 2007)
According to Kitchenham,
A systematic literature review (often referred to as a systematic review) is a means of identifying,
evaluating and interpreting all available research relevant to a particular research question, or topic
area, or phenomenon of interest (p.8).
The fundamental study of the systematic literature review is known as primary studies, and the
systematic literature itself is known as a form of secondary study.

Women In The Medieval Era
Amitabh Bachchan once said, Because you are women, people will force their thinking on you,
their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and
where you can go... . This quote was all too true for the women in the Medieval Era. In this era,
women did not have a lot of power or control over their life. Women did not get to select who
they marry. They could not choose who they bore children too. Women did not get to decide
what kind of work they wanted. They had to know their place and their place was a child bearer,
house maid, or nun. Although there was an idealization of women in the Medieval Era, the lives
of women were arduous as they had little control of their lives and were not able to decide who
they spent their life with. As aforementioned, women had no say in where their life would go.
Things happened to them and they had no choice, but to accept their circumstances. As an
example, a popular ballad at the time was The Great Silkie of Shule Skerrie. In this ballad, a
woman bore a child and has no idea who the father of her child is. The father steps up and she
simply says It is not well indeed that a SIlkie should have a child from her (Line 14). She was not
upset at the fact that she bore a child from a man she did not know, but at the fact that he was a
supernatural creature. Another example of this theme is in the tale of Robin Hood. In Robin Hood
, Robin steals from the rich to give back

Family As A Traditional Family
Family
Language constantly evolves and changes as it is adopted by different cultures. Consequently,
words have many definitions, connotations and origins. Family is a term that has changed over
time; as a result the traditional definition of family is inadequate, and limited to describe the
modern version of the term. Our society tends to attach itself to the traditional conceptualization of
family better know as a nuclear family which includes a set of parents, and their biological
offspring (Kompara). In America, known as a melting pot of all cultures and races, there are many
implications for the word family thus there is no such thing as a traditional family. The traditional
definition, which is limited parents and their children, can no longer be used to describe an
American family because of our diverse and changing familial structures.
The word family dates back to the 13th century and is derived from Old French word famelie (
Family ). The word originally defined the relationship of group of people living under the same
roof, household [including servants] (1337), group of people related by blood, lineage (1442 4),
a group of people who share a common philosophy (1658) ( Family ). Growing up in a different
country, my culture taught me an immediate family only consists of a mother, a father and siblings.
But in America it s not as simple because there are many variants of a family.
American families are the most diverse, encompassing gay/lesbian

Les is not afraid to show us that he failed, because he knows we might very well fail at the first,
second and even third attempts at starting a fire with a bow and drill. We may not ever get a fire
started in some cases, with just a bow and drill. It takes practice, patience and the right conditions
and sometimes despite our best efforts we fail.
All the shows cover the most elaborate down to the simplistic, and in most cases when it comes to
survival, simple and uncomplicated is better. Dave Canterbury one time showed us how to
pasteurize water in a snake skin, (a Python skin?) turned inside out, while it was hung over a fire.
This is nice to know, but really do you ever expect you would ever do this. It is almost like saying I

complicated and elaborate ways of doing things when there are much simpler ways that would get

Roller Coasters Good Or Bad
Roller coasters are the bomb. Would people still enjoy amusement parks if they knew the danger
of them? Roller coasters cause deaths and severe injuries. In one year, there s 350 injuries on

there s always a slight risk. Inspectors notice that most injuries or deaths are from rides over
twenty years old. One coaster is less than 10 years old. Amusement parks are fun, but can be life
threatening. From 1987 to 1999, forty two death documents were reported to the park health
institute. Imagine being at an amusement park. Smell the popcorn, and french fries. The loud

The Most Important Fuel Of The World Is Energy Essay
The most important fuel in the world is energy. Energy is the capability to do work or the power
which can make changes in matter. We can use it in different ways in everyday life such as
transportation, entertainment, communication, personal comfort, agriculture and manufacturing.
The world will come to a standstill without energy. The best thing about energy is it can neither be
created nor be destroyed it just changes from one form of matter into another form.1 We can
obtain energy in a useful form by a system called Energy Harnessing Network. In this
complicated system we extract raw energy in the form of heat energy, light energy, solar energy
etc and then transformed it into fuel for example coal, natural gas, petroleum and electrical energy
then stored it and use when needed. The engineers did a lot of work on it and successfully did
what was think impossible in the earlier time. They harnessed energy in many different forms such
as hydropower, solar power, wind mills and nuclear power etc.
There are two main types of energy that is kinetic energy and potential energy. If the object is at
rest then the energy it possess is called potential energy and if the object is in motion then it possess
kinetic energy. A well known scientist called Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, formulated another theory
of movement (flow) in view of kinetic energy and potential energy, which placed space as relative,
though Newton was altogether persuaded that space was outright. An imperative

Summary Of Disney And His Worlds
For the critical book review, I have chosen to read Disney and His Worlds by Alan Bryman.
Within the book Bryman gives an extensive background of Walt Disney and how his park,
Disneyland, came to be. Although this book wasn t an enormous read, since the book was only
194 pages of text, I still had trouble sitting down and trying to finish the book. I felt that the book
had much of the same information that I am being taught in class and what I m reading in the
other assigned textbooks. Disney and His Worlds was an interesting read overall, and I did enjoy
reading the bits of information that I did not know already. One of the first pieces of information
that I learned about Walt Disneyis that not everything he did was perfect. I already knew that he
didn t start off with a lot of money and that he had to borrow a giant sum to help get Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs off the ground. Within the book, Bryman explains that Snow White and
the Seven Dwarfs was a success with the public and that Walt had make back more than enough
money. What I didn t realize was that all of his movies were not a huge success. For example,
Bryman states that, ...both Fantasia and Pinnochio performed poorly at the box office...and the
response to Bambi was disappointing (pg 9 11). I find it fascinating that Walt s first movie did
extremely well, but most of the others flopped. I had not realized sooner that Walt did not have
consistent success after he produced Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The Importance Of Long Distance Relationship
With late progressions in innovation, couples can oversee and keep up their association with a basic
touch of a catch. Principal, correspondence through innovation is essential to couples associated
with long separate connections, as the interest for social advancement requires steady consideration.
The expression long distance relationship can regularly convey a negative meaning for those
looking for adoration. There is a recognition that geological separation will keep a solid and glad
relationship from growing; nonetheless, it doesn t demoralize all couples from remaining together.
Long separation connections are distinguished by a few elements, including separation, the length
of a relationship, and time living separated. Reasons, why couples who are hitched or dating wind

Censorship Of The United States

Research paper
Censorship
This paper will cover censorship in film with its main focus in the United States. It will cover the
progress of film censorship and how it has varied throughout the country as well as state to state.
The reader will discover how film censorship has changed with society and can be a resemblance
of society at a certain point in time. Important cases and lawsuits will be covered as well, enabling
the reader to understand why and how certain laws were created and questioned.
The first acknowledgment of regulating film arrived in 1896 after Thomas Edison s landmark
film, The Kiss. Critics of this film saw it as a threat to morality, thus raising questions on what
should or should not be shown to the public. Shortly after concern over The Kiss, the first statute
in movie censorship was enacted. The State of Maine implemented the statute in order to prevent
the exhibition prizefight of the 1897 heavyweight championship between James Corbett and Bob
Fitzsimmons. This opened the door for other organizations and states to regulate on their own
terms. Although most scholars regard the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago as the first act of
censorship in the United States, but as state above, the prevention of prizefighting in Maine is now
regarded as the first act of censorship. Nevertheless, the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago
was groundbreaking for film censorship. This ordinance made it illegal to show any

Parental Figures In The Power Of One By Bryce Courtenay
Parental figures tend to shape children into the individuals they become later in life. In The
Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, Peekay lacks the traditional parental figure that most people
have, and instead crosses paths with many significant people over the course of the book. This
puts Peekay at an advantage because he is able to see the world through different perspectives,
the perspectives of those who mentored him. He learns from people of all walks of life, which
leads to him being unbiased and open minded. Peekay also is at an advantage because he has to
learn to think for himself. His mentors help him with this, but the lack of a true parent forces
him to learn this skill early on and master it by time is was older. Finally, each of Peekay s mentors
have something different to offer, a different key piece of advice, that give him a set of morals to
live by. In the Power of One, the lack of the traditional parental figure helps further Peekay s
maturity and helps him to attain his own power of one. Peekay is mentored by a variety of
people throughout the book, all who come from different backgrounds and who have different
life experiences. Over the course of the book, Peekay is mentored by a mixed prisoner, a
professional boxer, and an old German professor. None of these people have anything in common
except for their love and concern for Peekay, and Peekay respects all of them because that is what
Geel Piet teaches him when he first begins to coach him. If they

District 9 Archetypes
The movie District 9 and the novel The Devil and Miss Prym utilize different types of conflict,
archetypes, and philosophies to culminate its story line. District 9 is a science fiction movie
based on sick aliens arriving in South Africa and a man who transforms into one of them. It
explores the theme of social segregation and relativism in relation to their government. It also
explores the person versus self, type of conflict with the archetypes of the refugee and the other.
This movie also explores relativism according to the main character and the government. The
novel, The Devil and Miss Prym is about a man coming to a town and him testing the town of their

to use social media in order to reach people effectively in U.S.
Presidential Elections in 2008 has changed the way of campaigning and expressing effectively.
Digital technology allowed leaders to interact with voters, transforming the campaigning totally into
a new level. Both the lead contenders Barack Obama and John McCain engaged with people by
using Social media. But there were many apparent discrepancies between Obama s use and his
opposition use of social media as their medium to communicate with people.
Obama s use of Social media in 2008 election campaign can be compared to former President
John F. Kennedy s use of television. Besides using email and website, Obama focused on Social
Media to activate the young voters. His extensive use of Social Media appeared to be the major
factor in his victory over John McCain in 2008. Obama had 2 million Facebook friends while
McCain had only 600,000. Obama spent millions on advertising in Facebook and Google to grab
attention of voters whereas, McCain used television advertisements. Obama focused on Social
media sites to pass on the information to the millions of volunteers and to get the donations, the

themselves this when they leave their water unattended. Tap water contributes to our daily life in
vary ways. Tap water is better than bottled water because it s safer, cheaper, and versatile to the
people. First off, tap water is safer than bottled waterby any mean. According to The Truth About
Tap by Andrew Postman. Postman states, Tap water in big cities must be disinfected, filtered, and

Film Theory Vs. Realism
In the initial days of cinema, film theories tended to divide into two opposing views, Formalism
and Realism. Formalists believed the formal properties of cinema shaped the way films were
made, as well as our responses to them. For formalists, the challenge was to establish film as an
independent art form. They found their answer in films formal properties, which enable the
filmmaker to alter reality and create new worlds within the screen. Formalist filmmaking reached
its peak in 1920s with Sergei Eisenstein editing technique, and using intellectual montage with
startling effect. In contrast, Realist believed the importance of capturing and recording reality.
This is where they considered the essence of filmmaking lies. Formalists on the other hand can
argue if that were pure cinema then no more actors, no more story, no more sets, which is to say
that in the perfect aesthetic illusion of reality there is no more cinema (Bazin, Andre). I disagree,
capturing reality can still be an art style and Realism proves that and it s especially highlighted in
the period known as Italian Neorealism. Italian Neorealism was a hugely influential film
movement. It sprung from the aftermath of WWII and ended around 1951. Notably emerging from
the magazine Cinema, from a particular group of critics who were prevented from writing about
politics. They switch to cinema to rebel against the Italian film industry under Mussolini influences.

Battle Of The Marne Essay
The First Battle of the Marne was one of the most significant battle in the first stages if the
emerging war to later be known as the Great War . It was conducted by the Allied French and
British forces against the German advance emerging from Belgium. The Germans had major
successes in previous battles against the French in France s north east until finally being slowed to
a halt at the Marne River. New tactics and techniques were utilized at this time in order to gain any
upper hand against the opposing forces; tactics such as radio signal interception and aerial
reconnaissance. This battle also forced the German into fortifying themselves into series of
elaborate trenched in order to maintain the front, which became typical of the western front until
the end of the war.
On 6 September 1914, the First Battle of the Marne was an offensive conducted by the French army

There is a substantial amount of evidence to support my reasonings from the book which will be
used to explain why Tomi is so loyal.
One word that will help explain Tomi s loyalty is the word Kind which Tomi show many times
throughout the book. Tomi s kindness towards other is a very important key evidence to why
Tomi s so loyal. What makes Tomi so kind is the fact that Tomi doesn t act rude to his friends and
he always sticks by their sides. This is clearly stated in the book and one evidence in the book to

that Tomi is willing to give up his education to help his family raise more money which comes to

Batman, Spiderman, Superman, or even the Hulk are just echoes of what would be recognized as
folkloric like epic heroes. Basically, a hero that is pictured as a larger than life character, who

Accordingly, the story of Beowulf is a classic example of such, including a clear folkloric epic hero
which is Beowulf, who fights forces of evil, presented as Grendel, his mother, and a fire

bravery and boldness, yet baffling fairness in his decisions before his first encounter with Grendel
that can be seen in this excerpt from the poem:

The Cash Flow Sensitivity of Sash
Research Question Does the link between financial constraints and firms demand for liquidity can
help us identify whether financial constraints are an important determinant of firm behavior.
Contribution Previous scholars, Fazzari, Hubbard, and Petersen, proposed that investment activities
of a firm is limited by the firm s financial situation, which is called financial constraints. When
firms face financial constraints, the firm s investment cash flow sensitivity is high. When a firm
face no financial constraints, its investment cash flow sensitivity is low. However this theory was
doubtful by some scholars. In 1997, Kaplan and Zingales propose an exactly opposite theory. In

The authors further test the intuition of our argument by investigating firms propensity to save
cash out of cash inflow over the business cycle.
Result
The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash.
The first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model
is estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a
function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the
first model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash
flow sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and
are all statistically significant at better than the 1% level.
The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the
view that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way
they conduct their cash policies.
Paper s Findings
By conducting this study, the authors conclude that financial constraints and firm s liquidity
demand can help identify whether financial constraints can

Color being one element, was really used in the film helped and played a major role to help the

element used was the set design. The set was used to show what time period the movie was set

Although, Matthew emphasizes Jesus as the authoritative Son of God, such as in Matthew 8:23

have more faith in Jesus such as believing that Jesus will help a person through their storms in
their life such as financial needs. For Jesus said to the disciples, You have so little faith, why are

where Jesus tries to keep other unknown to him being the Messiah. Yet, in Mark 8:30, Peter

unique to the Church for it is usually the norm to immediately express ones love for Christ.
However, Jesus is stating that Christianity is more than just the belief in Him; such having faith,

  • 2. A Brief Note On Endangered Species Research Paper arah Bader March 22nd, 2016 Endangered Species Research Paper Period: 2 Hasn t the world lost enough? Animals are harmed by letting nature take its course, meaning climate changes, deforestation, etc. Human poaching is a major contributor also. Extinctions have occurred throughout our planet s natural history. Some species develop as others die out, making space in the ecosystem for those best suited to any given habitat s natural conditions. Long before human beings arrived, fossil records show that populations of animals evolved, thrived, declined, and became extinct. (Sexton) When animal or plant species die out, the food chain ecosystem has to recuperate because when one species is taken out, its ruins the majority of the food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As of its current 2012 Red List of Threatened Species, which is a list of species that are threatened of extinction, the IUCN, The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, has evaluated 65,518 species. Of the total species included, 20,219 are listed as threatened, up from 19,570 in 2011. Poaching and a disappearing habitat due to human encroachment are considered the primary threats to these and other species (Sexton). If humans are destroying animals habitats, causing them to be threatened or endangered then why don t Conservationists put an end to the destruction of their habitats. If trees need to be cut down to say build a house then conservationists need to be required to survey the area for species that could be harmed or killed before any construction or destruction is performed. Sometimes you get too much rain, which means floods. At other times there isn t enough, which means drought. Both are dangerous. We can t do anything about the climate changing and the weather changing, it s nature taking its course. When the climate changes excessively, species begin to die out because their habitats eventually are destroyed. Habitats are destroyed due to glaciers melting or it being too hot or too cold. When the climate changes and melts the glaciers, then the water temperature increases ... • 3. Standard State Conservation Districts Law (1931-1939) The Government started out in 1934 with the Taylor Grazing Act, which set restrictions on the use of public lands for grazing, followed by a switch from free ranging cattle to feedlots (Naff). On March 3, 1937, Arkansas became the first state to enact the Standard State Conservation Districts Law (Dust Bowl 1931 1939). Other men started a business of erupting TNT in the sky to encourage rainfall (Surviving the Dust Bowl). President Roosevelt ordered the Civilian Conservation Corps to plant trees from Canada to Abilene, Texas, in a huge belt of more than two million to break the wind, hold water in the soil, and keep the soil itself in place. Irrigation expansion was the most essential solution to the drought for crop purposes, but discouraged due to water availability (Marrin).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Farmers were paid close to a dollar an acre for the areas to which they applied the new farming techniques. The land that was acquired from the displaced farmers were re seeded into grass to prevent further wind erosion. Lorene White said, My dad was stubborn. The government would try to help. He would just refuse. He didn t want to disgrace the family by receiving help (Surviving the Dust Bowl). In 1941, rain poured down on the region, dust storms ceased, crops thrived, economic prosperity returned, and the historic Dust Bowl was over. • 5. The Titanic Research Paper The Titanic The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding with an iceberg in the morning of 15th April 1912 during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. The RMS Titanic was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line. It was built in Belfast by the Harland and Wolffshipyard with Thomas Andrews as her naval architect. There were around 2,224 passengers and crew on board the ship on her maiden voyage, of which 1,500 were lost. The ship could accommodate 833 First Class Passengers, 614 Second Class Passengers and 1,006 Third Class Passengers, making a total passenger capacity of 2,453. The Third Class facilities also including their own dining rooms as well as public areas including deck space, a smoking room for men and a reading room for women, although these were not as glamorous in design as the First Class facilities. However, even though the facilities and accommodations for Third Class passengers were less luxurious as First and Second Class, they were much better than on any other ships at the time. On many North Atlantic ships, Third Class accommodation was little more than open dormitories were hundreds of people were confined without adequate food or toilet facilities. White Star Line vessels provided their Third Class passengers with small, but private and comfortable cabins accommodating two, four, six, eight and ten passengers. The Titanic carried a total of twenty lifeboats. Fourteen of these were standard wooden lifeboats capable of carrying 65 people each, four collapsible lifeboats with wooden bottoms and collapsible canvas sides with a total capacity of 47 people each, and two emergency cutters with the ability to hold 40 people each. However, this meant that the Titanic only carried enough lifeboats for 1,178 people slightly more than half of the number on board, due to the belief that the ships s constuction made the Titanic ... • 6. Assassination Attemps on Adolf Hitler Researchers have proven that Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazis, killed more than 6 million Jews in his lifetime. The resistance knew that they couldn t let him continue this behavior and needed to take action. There were an estimated 42 attempts on assassinating Hitler but a man by the name of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg came up the closest. Cornel Claus was a highly respected man due to him being in the General Army Office as chief of staff, and because he led an assassination attempt on Hitler, killing four Nazi officers. Claus was a very brave man for not only trying to eliminate Hitler but also for his war actions. Stauffenberg was born and raised in Upper Franconia, Germany November 15, 1907 ( Claus Almanac). He grew up into a noble catholic family in Southern Germany. Claus went to high school looking to be an architect but eventually pursued the military due to family history. He made a good decision by going into the military because of his future actions. Claus was deployed as an officer in a cavalry regiment in 1930. He eventually fought in Poland and France from 1939 1940 (Leaders). Soon afterward, he was assigned to the army General Staff and for one month fought in North Africa at night against the Germans. During the war in North Africa Claus was attacked while in an airplane and lost his right hand, two fingers of his left hand, and his left eye. • 7. Same Kind Of Different As Me By Ron Hall And Denver Moore Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore was a very easy read. In this short story there are many controversial topics that are touched on. Although it was an easy read, I thought it was very intellectually stimulating. This book made me question my faith and my actions, which then ultimately lead to improvements and understandings in my own life. I do not think the formatting was done all that well, but somehow the two separate authors seemed to complement each other in alternating chapters. This book made me feel good and had lots of meaningful moments. I even teared up a little when certain events happened (not a spoiler). This book also makes apparent some issues that many people do not even realize. It has a very good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Navajo Code Talker Joseph Bruchac s novel Code Talker tells the story of the Navajo Code Talkers who played a vital role in the US. conflict with Japan throughout World War II. The narrator, Ned Begay, is a Navajo soldier who wonders why the Japanese supported the war so strongly while Americans grew more fatigued of the war every day. After the war, he learns about an organization called Tokubetsu KЕЌtЕЌ Keisatsu; although the name was often shortened to TokkЕЌ, this agency was more notoriously known as the Thought Police. The TokkЕЌ were more secretive than the Japanese Military Police, the Kempeitai. The military police were rife and had more overall power. The Tokko were less known, but worked towards the same goal of stifling the possibility of rebellion against the monarchy. Their official purpose being to repress dangerous thoughts, the TokkЕЌ would be infamously known as the Thought Police. Dangerous comprised anything anti government, anti emperor, leftist, and critical of the war. The Thought Police also targeted labor unions, Koreans living in Japan, religious groups other than shinto, communists, socialists, anarchists, and those thought to be breaking the Public Peace Act. The TokkЕЌ used many undercover informants who secretly joined leftist organizations and provided information about leaders and meetings to the Thought Police. The agents spied on people s telephone and radio communications and informed on activists in their own neighborhoods. Value Chain Analysis Of Perforce Helix While Git is easily most popular choice for many developers in a range from small or large companies around the world, there is an alternative enterprise orientation version control that offers much better capabilities and that is called Perforce Helix. • 10. Risk Allocation Essay RISK ALLOCATION IMPORTANCE IN PROJECT STRUCTURING AND CURRENT PRACTICES I.Introduction Project finance is best understood in terms of a risk allocation which reconciles the potentially conflicting objectives of borrowers and lenders by utilizing the long term economic and commercial linkages between the sponsors, lenders and third party participants involved with a project. (Howcroft Fadhley, 1998). In theory, the basic principle of risk allocation for the project finance is Allocating project risks to the most suitable participant whose risk preference is higher (Xiao, 2003). Severe consequences follow from the failure to accurately identify and allocate risks. These consequences often extend beyond the immediate parties to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this paper, an extensive literature review is undertaken to evaluate the importance of risk allocation to project stakeholders and discuss current practices. However, the complexity of this topic is beyond the scope of this paper. Hence, the attention is towards the direct participants, even though other stakeholders will also be tangentially mentioned. Also, as PPP is developing fast in the area of project finance and its importance is increasing, I have used it to illustrate some of the points made in the current risk allocation practices. II.Importance of risk allocation in structuring from the angle of stakeholders The structure of a project s financing depends on the industry the transaction is taking place, the underlying business model and in particular the allocation of risks and responsibilities between the individual partners (Weber Alfen, 2010). Risk allocation is performed as part of the development of the project structure, which takes into account the distribution of responsibilities and risks during the planning, construction, financing and operating phases (Corner, 2006). The aim is to identify an efficient and effective structure that optimises the costs of the project and ensures that the risk occurrences do not damage the project (Delmon, 2009). According to Grimsey and Lewis (2007) risk allocation has two elements: optimal risk management and value for money. The first implies that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The North American Free Trade Agreement Essay The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is an agreement negotiated by three countries; Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The main purpose of NAFTA is essentially to reduce trade barriers in order to promote international commerce, and open up different industries to trade, in particular textiles, agriculture, and automobile sectors. The introduction of NAFTA completely transformed North American economic relations and led to unparalleled cooperation between the U.S. Canada and Mexico. This research paper will look at the positive and negative impacts of NAFTA and examine whether or not it has been overall successful in promoting economic growth in its member nations. In order to answer this question, I will examine the effects of NAFTA on the U.S., Mexico and Canada by focusing on the macroeconomic impact of NAFTA, its influence on different economic sectors, and the dynamics of free trade between the developed economies of the U.S. and Canada and an undeveloped country, Mexico Macroeconomic Effects The formation of NAFTA put together a $19 trillion market comprised of around 470 million consumers. The large majority of economists concur that NAFTA has advanced the economies of its members. Trade in the region has increased dramatically from 1993, from around $290 billion to around $1.0 trillion in 2016 (Source). While, since the year 2004, systematic reviews are also performed by many software engineering researchers and number of important engineering conferences also seek submissions in this research category. In addition to this many popular journals and magazines have distinct section for papers, which are also based on this research methodology. (Kitchenham Charters, 2007) According to Kitchenham, A systematic literature review (often referred to as a systematic review) is a means of identifying, evaluating and interpreting all available research relevant to a particular research question, or topic area, or phenomenon of interest (p.8). The fundamental study of the systematic literature review is known as primary studies, and the systematic literature itself is known as a form of secondary study. 2.1.2 Adopting the Systematic Literature Review There ... • 14. Women In The Medieval Era Amitabh Bachchan once said, Because you are women, people will force their thinking on you, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go... . This quote was all too true for the women in the Medieval Era. In this era, women did not have a lot of power or control over their life. Women did not get to select who they marry. They could not choose who they bore children too. Women did not get to decide what kind of work they wanted. They had to know their place and their place was a child bearer, house maid, or nun. Although there was an idealization of women in the Medieval Era, the lives of women were arduous as they had little control of their lives and were not able to decide who they spent their life with. As aforementioned, women had no say in where their life would go. Things happened to them and they had no choice, but to accept their circumstances. As an example, a popular ballad at the time was The Great Silkie of Shule Skerrie. In this ballad, a woman bore a child and has no idea who the father of her child is. The father steps up and she simply says It is not well indeed that a SIlkie should have a child from her (Line 14). She was not upset at the fact that she bore a child from a man she did not know, but at the fact that he was a supernatural creature. Another example of this theme is in the tale of Robin Hood. • 15. Family As A Traditional Family Family Language constantly evolves and changes as it is adopted by different cultures. Consequently, words have many definitions, connotations and origins. Family is a term that has changed over time; as a result the traditional definition of family is inadequate, and limited to describe the modern version of the term. Our society tends to attach itself to the traditional conceptualization of family better know as a nuclear family which includes a set of parents, and their biological offspring (Kompara). In America, known as a melting pot of all cultures and races, there are many implications for the word family thus there is no such thing as a traditional family. The traditional definition, which is limited parents and their children, can no longer be used to describe an American family because of our diverse and changing familial structures. The word family dates back to the 13th century and is derived from Old French word famelie ( Family ). The word originally defined the relationship of group of people living under the same roof, household [including servants] (1337), group of people related by blood, lineage (1442 4), a group of people who share a common philosophy (1658) ( Family ). Growing up in a different country, my culture taught me an immediate family only consists of a mother, a father and siblings. • 18. The Most Important Fuel Of The World Is Energy Essay The most important fuel in the world is energy. Energy is the capability to do work or the power which can make changes in matter. We can use it in different ways in everyday life such as transportation, entertainment, communication, personal comfort, agriculture and manufacturing. The world will come to a standstill without energy. The best thing about energy is it can neither be created nor be destroyed it just changes from one form of matter into another form.1 We can obtain energy in a useful form by a system called Energy Harnessing Network. In this complicated system we extract raw energy in the form of heat energy, light energy, solar energy etc and then transformed it into fuel for example coal, natural gas, petroleum and electrical energy then stored it and use when needed. The engineers did a lot of work on it and successfully did what was think impossible in the earlier time. They harnessed energy in many different forms such as hydropower, solar power, wind mills and nuclear power etc. There are two main types of energy that is kinetic energy and potential energy. If the object is at rest then the energy it possess is called potential energy and if the object is in motion then it possess kinetic energy. A well known scientist called Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, formulated another theory of movement (flow) in view of kinetic energy and potential energy, which placed space as relative, though Newton was altogether persuaded that space was outright. I felt that the book had much of the same information that I am being taught in class and what I m reading in the other assigned textbooks. Disney and His Worlds was an interesting read overall, and I did enjoy reading the bits of information that I did not know already. One of the first pieces of information that I learned about Walt Disneyis that not everything he did was perfect. I already knew that he didn t start off with a lot of money and that he had to borrow a giant sum to help get Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs off the ground. Within the book, Bryman explains that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was a success with the public and that Walt had make back more than enough money. What I didn t realize was that all of his movies were not a huge success. For example, Bryman states that, ...both Fantasia and Pinnochio performed poorly at the box office...and the response to Bambi was disappointing (pg 9 11). I find it fascinating that Walt s first movie did extremely well, but most of the others flopped. Formalists believed the formal properties of cinema shaped the way films were made, as well as our responses to them. For formalists, the challenge was to establish film as an independent art form. They found their answer in films formal properties, which enable the filmmaker to alter reality and create new worlds within the screen. Formalist filmmaking reached its peak in 1920s with Sergei Eisenstein editing technique, and using intellectual montage with startling effect. In contrast, Realist believed the importance of capturing and recording reality. This is where they considered the essence of filmmaking lies. Formalists on the other hand can argue if that were pure cinema then no more actors, no more story, no more sets, which is to say that in the perfect aesthetic illusion of reality there is no more cinema (Bazin, Andre). I disagree, capturing reality can still be an art style and Realism proves that and it s especially highlighted in the period known as Italian Neorealism. Italian Neorealism was a hugely influential film movement. It sprung from the aftermath of WWII and ended around 1951. Notably emerging from the magazine Cinema, from a particular group of critics who were prevented from writing about politics. They switch to cinema to rebel against the Italian film industry under Mussolini influences. One of the primary goals of Italian Neorealism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Result The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash. The first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model is estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the first model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash flow sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and are all statistically significant at better than the 1% level. The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the view that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way they conduct their cash policies.
