Voodoo Facts
There are three different denominations associated with Voodoo. The first and most popular practice
of this religion is the orthodox Voodoo. The Orthodox Voodoo was based on Dahomey rites. The
Kingdom of Dahomey, which was established and lasted during the 1600 s till the late 1800 s when
the last living chief, Behanzin, was annexed and defeated by the French colonial empire. The
Dahomey kingdom created different unique beliefs, ceremonies and religious idealisms for their

Analysis Of Those Winter Sundays
Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden
Those winter Sundays written by Robert Hayden is a poem to ponder for a while. The poem may look
simple, but analyzing it deeply shows that is a complicated one with a well defined sentiment of no
appreciation and sorrow towards his father. These sentiments will change to the end of the poem. Also,
the poem can be understood in various ways: one way could be a positive feeling from the writer
towards his father or the other one could be a complaint about his father s toughness. The choice of
words that Robert Hayden uses is not complicated, which makes it easy to read and understand at first
glance and produces imagery of gloom and cold changing to warmth ... Show more content on

But the kid did not realize that the father sacrifices his comfort waking up early in the morning to
ignite the fire in order to heat up the house and give comfort to his family Sundays too many my
father got up early and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,/ then with cracked hands that ached/
from labor in the weekday weather made/ banked fires blaze./ No one ever thanked him (1 5). There is
no doubt that the father was a noble and responsible man.
The writer uses middle diction because he uses an educated language but not elevated enough to be
considered formal diction. He describes what the child would do on Sunday mornings: I d wake and
hear the cold splintering, breaking./ When the rooms were warm, he d call,/ and slowly I would rise
and dress, (6 8). The writer uses a proper choice of words and reduces the formality with the
apostrophe in the line number six.
Another aspect of the poem that emphasizes the background of the poem is the syntax.
Sundays too many my father got up early /and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold (1 2). Robert
Hayden writes blueblack before cold to be more specific on the description of the early morning,
which gives the idea of an uncomfortable cold weather.
The author s tone on this poem changes from sorrow and bitterness to love and thankfulness. then with
cracked hands that ached/ from

Similarities Between The Garden Of Eden And The Tabernacle
Similarities Between the Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Throughout the Old Testament, the
tabernacle was a centerfold of worshiping God for the Israelite people. This was where believers could
congregate to seek peace, sing praises, and make animal sacrifices to God. The tabernacle was also a
resting place for God to come down from Heaven and dwell with His children. Similarly, the Garden
of Eden was once a perfect creation for God to have an earthly dwelling place to be with Adam and
Eve. That, until the age old story of sin and deception came into place. The Garden of Eden was a
perfect model of how God designed a place of worship to be, that is why He provided Moses with
specific instructions of how the tabernacle should be built as a replica of the garden. The tabernacle
stands as a symbolic model of the original creation the Garden of Eden, through its reproduction of
several of the garden s well known features, such as the cherubim guarding the entrance, the Tree of
Life, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the direction of the Garden facing east. The
tabernacle s recreation of the cherubim guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden is in its placement
of these angelic beings sitting above and protecting the sacred Ark of the Covenant. The ark was an
intricately decorated wooden box holding a copy of the Ten Commandments, symbolizing the living
presence of God among the people. The ark, like Eden, was a sacred place where only God could
dwell and sin may never be present. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, cherubim were placed at the
entrance of the Garden to shield His perfect creation from sin. In doing so, He made sure that the two
would not find the entrance again, ( Guarding the Gate of Eden. ). Likewise, to protect the holiness of
the ark, God ordered the Israelites to create cherubim to protect the ark from sin intruding upon its
presence. Lisa Schachter states in her article, The Garden of Eden as God s First Sanctuary, that in
both contexts [the cherubim] are the guardians of both the literal and figurative Tree of Life discussed
in the story of creation. God did not want His perfect creation to become corrupted again, so He
placed cherubim on both sides of the ark as a

The Death Of My Mother
When I was a child, I dreamt about being a doctor helping others. I knew at the early age of 7 that I
wanted to make a difference in others lives. After the death of my mother in 1999, I slowly changed
my mind about what I wanted to do with my life. I told myself that I would do whatever it took to help
bring justice for families that go through what I went through with the death of my mother. As I was
going through college I realized that criminal justice wasn t for me after working in the field. I sat
there one day wondering what I would do next and I realized I have a passion for helping others; and I
love babies, so why not use that to my advantage. That is how I ended up here at Southern Careers

insurance claims, as well as help with billing a patient s insurance company. Imagine doing all of this
for more than 15 patients a day. The work load of an MA is very stressful as well as time consuming.
Every patient that walks through the door of the physician s office trusts me with their lives. This is
why it is important that I know exactly what I am doing. If I decided to be an MA and nothing more I
would be done as soon as I finish school here at Southern Careers Institute. Some MA s don t need an
education higher than a high school diploma, because the entry level jobs for this career field provides
on the job training. As long as I have down the basic skills of being an MA an individual that wants to

Skills such as; administering medications, being able to draw blood (venipunctures), prepare an exam
room, assisting in physical examinations, taking vitals, and being able to record the patient s
information correctly. I myself don t plan on stopping here. I will go on to study at the University of
Texas at San Antonio, where I will study medicine and become a certified nurse. From there I will
attend Houston Tillotson University here in Austin, to finish out my nursing degree. In order to

preparing high school freshman into college freshman. This speech provides tips in how to get ready
for college in a span of four years. Sullivan recommends that high school freshman start off by
reading, writing, thinking, listening, gritting , and developing an attitude towards college. It is a

Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son
Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best essay writers in the
twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race, discrimination, sexuality and most of all
his personal experiences. In Notes of a Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across.
First, he likes to tell a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He
describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants the reader a
chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the reader s is. He likes to argue
and provides the basis for his argument in Notes of a Native Son . Throughout the essay he talks about
himself and his father, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are stories he incorporates to illustrate the point. In the middle we move to a more self centered
narrative. He tells of his story in New Jersey where he realized he could kill someone. He shares some
of his thoughts of why people acted as they did towards him and others. This is an effective way he
uses narrating and analyzing to work for the reader s understanding. The essay goes into great detail of
his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65), and beautiful (64). He
does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us some of the good as well. Throughout his
storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the
extent of the essay. In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used
about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger,
and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart. (72) This
hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told.
The death had aroused feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. His contempt of his
father (63) lasts through most of the essay. Soon after this, we find out that Mr. Baldwin is sick and

The beginning settlements of the Massachusetts and Virginia colonies were both brought together by
the similar groups of people, however their different beginnings as a colony, views on religion, and
means of economic stability created two different political and economic systems.
The colonies of Virginia and Massachusetts were both established during the same time, but the ways
that they were established were very different .The Virginia colony had many failures and close calls,
while on the other hand Massachusetts landed a successful first settlement. Their smart decisions
regarding food and planning made this possible. Virginia did not have good person in a leadership ...

Virginia began to create plantations for tobacco and Massachusetts was a seaport, both began to suffer
from the increase of immigrants. The immigrants created a lot of competition for work. Both societies
were engulfed with an increase of immigrants, creating a competition for jobs. Boston was in bad
shape and people looked to the community for help. Virginia made its money through tobacco, and
along with that came an increase in slavery. On the other hand Massachusetts did not have as great of
a demand for slaves. Though both of the settlements had different tactics, neither of them could avoid
the problems from increase of immigration and both relied on their separate means of making profit.
To conclude, it can be seen that both colonies, had similar goals as to what needed to be done to make
their colonies last, but the methods that were used were very different. From Virginia and
Massachusetts it can be determined that two colonies with the same goal can come to two separate
political systems based off of their economic

Muscle Injury Research Paper
You can have many muscle injuries, so we are going to be diving into some of the main muscle
injuries. Muscle contusion (muscle bruise) is an injury where the muscle gets bruised. Athletes, in all
contact sports have a chance of getting this muscle bruise. Contusions are second only to strains as a
main cause of sports injuries. Most of the contusions are minor and heal pretty fast, without even
taking the athlete out of the game. But severe contusions can happen that can cause deep tissue
damage which can result in the athlete out of sports for months. Some symptoms of muscle contusions
are: swelling, pain, limited joint range of motion near the injury, torn blood vessels could cause a

Both tendonitis and tendinitis have similar symptoms but requires different treatments. Tendonitis
involves larger scale acute injuries that go together with inflammation. The tendonitis injuries are
most common in the upper shoulder and lower section of the elbow, and are way less common in the
hip and torso. Rock climbers tend to develop tendinitis in the fingers or elbows, and swimmers in their
shoulders. Achilles tendinitis is a common tendon injury, mainly in spots that involve jumping, and
lunging, while Patellar tendinitis is very common among basketball and volleyball players due to the
amount of jumping and landing. Symptoms of tendonitis are aches, pains, joint stiffness around the
affected area, burning around the whole joint around the inflamed tendon. In some cases or tendonitis
swelling happens with heat and redness, there also may be visible knots around the joint. With this
injury the pain is bad during and after an activity using the tendon, and the tendon and the area around
the tendon can become stiff the next day as muscles tighten from the tendon moving. For healing you
can use non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, rest, and gradual exercise is a good therapy. Ice,
compression, and elevation are also good treatments. Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, and
orthotics or braces are also very helpful. In chronic cases of tendonitis laser therapy has been found to
be somewhat better than a conservative treatment at reducing pain, but no other outcomes were

Unit 10: Understand Child and Young Person Development
There are a range of factors which affect a child s development. Each area of development will be
affected by their background and health. It is therefore important to be aware of these to know how
much encouragement and support each pupil may need to allow them to develop as far as possible.
The personal factors which may affect a child s development are poor health or physical impairments
which can have a large impact on a child s development. The most obvious consequence of this would
be the effect on physical development but it may influence the child s social and emotional
development. Being unable to join in certain activities could make a child stand out or go unnoticed

This may be through encouragement and support or by altering an activity to make it accessible to all
children. I have just finished a year working with a child who was born with a heart condition. This
affected the child s growth and he was much smaller than the rest of the class. However, he was very
emotionally mature and open about his condition and the rest of the class were very accepting of
anyone who was different so this didn t cause many problems. There are also learning difficulties
which may affect a child s development. Children with such difficulties should be supported and
encouraged to develop in all areas as best as they can. This past year I was a one to one for a girl who
had learning difficulties. We worked together often and I was aware of what she could do without

Many people find it difficult to swallow a pill. They often feel that they can choke on the pill or
simply suffer from a mental block when it comes to taking oral medicines. We recognise the problems
of such patients and therefore, recommend that these patients need to find alternative methods to take
the required medicines. Take the example of patients who are suffering from erectile dysfunction. The
inability to have a hard on can really decrease the confidence of the patients who are suffering from
this condition. They are certainly in need of a strong intervention. One of the best ways to get

The enlightenment era arose in the modern cultural ideology of the 18th century, as ideas among
philosophers had a widespread effect among the society. The age of enlightenment, in western society,

This ideology is embraced during the French Revolution as before the revolution, French society was
grounded in the inequality of rights, among the citizens. (Spielvogel578) The French were divided

assembly, influenced by John Locke s ideology of rejecting royal reign superiority, created the

Undoubtedly, one of the advantages that Kassatly Chtaura has, is how they shape their strategy,
implement new drinks according to market trends and its innovative position in alcoholic and non
alcoholic beverages. They have been receiving much recognition for the ingredients that are used in its
production. The same laws have specified restrictions on alcohol and energy drinks, and that s where
Kassatly Chtaura could find the right time to launch its various products in Lebanon and in turn be
related to Saudi Arabia, which provides an advantage to position itself in the group GCC in the Middle
East. However, the tension is handled in the country of Lebanon and in the closest countries. Is a rapid
change that may arise from the overnight, so achieving manufacturing in another country where it is
not fully understood the culture, the rules and laws governing, is a risk that can be significant in the
formation of an expansion in Saudi Arabia or in Africa as an emerging market that is growing
nowadays.
Kassatly Chtaura is a company that has taken advantage of the situation, resources and the regions
where they can make some investment to prop up the finances and not fall into a low development of
innovation in the products they handle. Implementation of vodka, energy drinks and even some
alignment with the wines have kept the name Kassatly Chtaura outside the Lebanese community, and
internationally, they have achieved some recognition.

Because the virus is new, the human population has little to no immunity against it. The virus spreads
quickly from person to person worldwide. The United States is not currently experiencing a flu
pandemic. If a pandemic occurs, the federal government will work to identify the cause and create a
vaccine. Flu.gov will provide updates on the steps the federal government is taking to address the
pandemic. Death rates may be high. Four factors largely that determine the death toll: The number of
people who become infected, the strength of the virus, the underlying characteristics and vulnerability
of affected population, the effectiveness of preventive measures. What you need in order to be able to

by six different constellations: Hydra, Scorpius, Norma, Circinus, Libra and Centaurus.

of the ancient king of Arcadia, king Lycaon. It s said that he ruled Arcadia with his fifty sons and he
still practiced human sacrifice while other parts of Greece declined it as barbaric. There are two

The other version says that Zeus visited Arcadia disguised as a traveller. Lycaon and his sons offered

Retail Possums Research Paper
The use of 1080 poison to control possums within New Zealand has been quite a big biological issue
over the years. The bushtail possums were introduced to New Zealand in 1837 for the fur trade by
Australia. This poison is commonly used in New Zealand to target the control of the possum
population as well as other invasive rodents, as these pest eat vulnerable native animals such as, birds,
lizards and insects, but this poison is highly toxic for deer, and dogs. Minimizing the number of
possums mean that the agriculture and forestry to will be able to thrive more. Possums themselves don
t have any predators to control their population, as they can live in any New Zealand condition, which
has now caused human involvement to help control the issue. Biological concepts and processes 1080

effective way and humane way to kill the animal, as well as it not needing to suffer, dead within

Essay about Slaughtering for the Humanness of Horses
Slaughtering for the Humanness of Horses
The closing of slaughterhouses in the United States for horses has resulted in inhumane treatment and
gross neglect for thousands of horses. Congressmen, lobbyists, activists, actors, and every day people
have petitioned for these death traps to be destroyed, all for the benefit of the horse. The horse, who
cannot speak, can only react to his surroundings. The ones to be benefited are the people who see this
as cruel, and inhumane; to give them a clear conscious, because they feel endeared to this animal. I,
too, am endeared to this animal, but understand that the horse has been put in, an all too often,
precarious situation, that even death, cannot come quick enough.

One horse rescue farm received calls on 230 horses from April 2008 to August 2009 (Lewis, 2009).
That s an increase of over 1800 percent from the previous year, when slaughterhouses closed. Horse
rescue farms rely on donations, whether in the form of food, labor, or money, to make ends meet. It s
always a struggle, (Myers), who owns Sunshine Acres rescue ranch, said. It s expensive to keep
horses, and there aren t enough donations coming in. Most of the horses I get are underweight and
have health problems, which requires more feed. (Lewis, 2009, p. 4A) Others have horses that are
geriatric or have medical issues. They are kept out of compassion, as not many would want the
financial burden of a horse that is unusable. These horses are even more difficult to find new homes
for and in some instances their quality of life has already passed. Other people refuse to try to make
arrangements for them when they experience a financial hardship and just quit feeding them. They re
emaciated. Some of them, their eyes are glazed over, said Holly Simpson, (Zaborney, 2010, p. 1) of

Martin Luther King s Model Of Extremism
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a unique and great person in history. He had so much faith and
determination for what he was doing and tried very hard to do it the right way. When he first started
for equality, there were many that disagreed. They thought he was going too quickly or doing it the
wrong way. They began calling him an extremist. Some thought it was an act of civil disobedience.
But as William Scheuerman put it, it is simply a matter of recognizing that civil disobedience is best
understood primarily as a conscientious moral challenge to the law (Scheuerman 427). King asked
them one simple question about a list of people and what they were trying to accomplish. He put
himself in that list as well. After all, he considered himself to be on that list since they all were
extremists for different things. King s extremism might have twisted people the wrong way, but with
the circumstances surrounding him, he uses the biblical character of Jesus to support his key points to
why extremism is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet the debate of what civil disobedience contains still rages on. The ongoing debate about
punishment and civil disobedience, in particular, has identified some tough questions. Blame for the
earlier model s perceived limitations too often gets placed at its legal doorsteps (Scheuerman 441).
There is still civil disobedience and it seems there is not a consensus on what type of punishment there
should be for civilians who pose disobedience to the public. King wanted everything to be peaceful
and not to distract people from going crazy and breaking the law. Some thought otherwise. The efforts
that King made towards justice put him at odds with fellow Christians and authorities. He willingly
broke laws based on his complementary Christ centered views of resistance (Williams 191). King had
a feeling that things could be done within the

Whether it is to force a change or to create something new deviance is at a strong high. At the dawn of
a new millennium some of society feel the need to express themselves better then the regular norms

If this is so then why is that no one listens to us, but instead they condemn us saying we are nothing

Search Engine Optimization, Or Seo
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a technical marketing discipline, the purpose of which is to
make a website relevant, reachable, and visible to users searching for keywords and topics. (Linkdex).
With an average of 3 billion web queries each day, internet search is critical for a business to gain
edge over its competition. SEO has become the standard for marketers as a way to be found in search
to attract qualified traffic and leads.
From a business perspective, SEO cannot be treated as a separate entity from a company s overall
marketing plan. In order to be successful, Search Engine Optimization considerations should play a

Ranking is how the search engine decides to deliver the most relevant results to searchers
(Copyblogger). This is accomplished by algorithmic functions that rank search results based on the
best guess of what someone was really looking for during their web query.
One obvious coding technique that is used to optimize search ability is the strategic placement of
identifying search engine keywords in the HTML title tag, meta description tag, and header tags.
However, before a web developer can start optimizing his site for a certain keyword or phrase, he
needs to understand what keywords are the best fit for his business. To do so, a web developer may
use a keyword search tool such as Google AdWords, that provide targeted keywords that are relevant
to a web developer s audience, are pulling in a good amount of search traffic, and are not too difficult
to rank. After a web developer has researched and selected which keywords would best match his web
page, he must then start incorporating those keywords into important parts of the webpage. HTML
titles have always been and remain the most important HTML signal that search engines use to
understand what a page is about. Unique, descriptive titles are the most successful in being searched.
The meta description tag, one of the oldest supported HTML elements, allows you to suggest how you

Personality Of The Joker
a. Andrea Chew Man Ee
Actor s name: The Joker
The Joker has a personality of persistent, fearless, high intelligence, and aggression.
The Joker holds a strength of being persistent in the things he does. He makes sure that his plans will
turn out as how he planned it to be. Even though there were complication in between, he makes sure
he finds alternatives to get his job done. Take for an example, when the top mob members of the
Gotham city were having a meeting discussing about the illegal money stash has been tracked down
by the police officers. Joker shows up and proposed a plan to help the mobsters to find a better way to
deal with their business in the future which includes in killing Batman and by taking half cut of the
money as reward. Because Gambol thinks that the plan was ridiculous, they declined it and threatened
to kill The Joker. This however did not stop him. He took the alternative in pretending to be killed by
other gang members just so he could get closer to Gambol, to show that he has power to order people

This personality can help him to find the ways to complete whatever he thinks that it is important. For
instance, Batman is catching the criminals continuously as this is what he wanted to do when he
started to be Batman. Batman is a rule oriented person. This can be good because Batman would not
easy to be seduced by any person with any offer as he barely break his own rules. Hence, Batman is
considered as a thoughtful person as he would think about any possible consequences before he takes
any action. And yet, this may become his weakness. It is because he would be inflexible in his life
whenever he is facing problems and situations. For example, a few people died because of Batman
indirectly. It is because he could not fulfill the Joker s request which he has to show his real face to the
public. He suffered and almost surrender to the

The Electronic Medical Record
For a nation to be technologically advanced, the United States (U.S.) is having a hard time
overcoming the dark era of utilizing hand written scripts, progress notes, and paper records. In
comparison to other countries, the U.S. is lagging behind in the health care system. Even with all the
improvements that have been made recently, the U.S. ranked last in 2014 in areas such as access,
efficiency and equity compared to Australia, Canada, France Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand,
Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (Davis, Stremikis, Squires, Schoen, 2014).
Now, as our nation is trying to improve the quality, access, and proficiency of our health care,
concerns have been raised whether the new policies are adequate enough for privacy amongst sharing
and obtaining health information. This paper was put together to give background information on how
the electronic medical record came about and whether privacy is a major concern amongst the
American population.
Background
The dark era of medical records caused people s private health information not to be safe. A few
examples of how patient records were not protected includes patient records were found in dumpsters
outside of physician s offices, patient records were found washed ashore in Maine, and in one instance
a teacher from Salt Lake City purchased medical records from 28 Florida hospitals to use as scrap
paper for her students (Thede, 2010). Moreover, in the past patient records used to be fully

The Last Supper By Leonardo Da Vinci
The Last Supper is one of the most famous works of Leonardo da Vinci. This work is considered his
most ambitious painting, and it is as famous as the portrait of Mona Lisa, the most notable and well
known work of Leonardo. The Last Supper was started in the year 1495 and completed in 1498. This
work of art was conceived on the wall of the refectory of the Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie,
Milan, Italy, during the High Renaissance period. The Last Super is a realistic work of art; to make it
possible Leonardo used different techniques such as chiaroscuro, and one point perspective. Also,

deteriorate. Restorations has been held since 1726, as a tentative to keep this giant work that has
suffered with many obstacles as a cut to open a doorway and bombing from the World War II.
The Last Supper is a biblical visual interpretation of one the major events in the life of Jesus. It depicts
the final meal that Jesus shared with his 12 apostles, the night before he was betrayed. This piece of
art is a realist representational, in which the artist painted the subjects with high level of detail
reproducing real expressions on each subject. Leonardo intended to make Jesus the main object of this
work of art. In order to make it possible, he positioned Jesus at the center of the composition, and the
vanishing point makes all lines of the room converge on Jesus head, giving him more attention on the
scene and creating the sensation of holiness. This sensation is reinforced by the position in which
Jesus sits. His body has a triangular form, and all the apostles are close to him but not in his space.
The subjects are placed in symmetrical balance in which the viewers see two groups divided by Jesus
who is the subject to be the focal point.
The usage of chiaroscuro technique provides a sense of softness and natural feeling to the painting, it

Similarities Between Brian Turner And Things Fall Apart
The destruction of the tribe of Umuofia and the death of the innocent civilians in the Iraq War, are
caused by individuals, or a group of people, who impose their will on the hopeless. In the poem 2000
lbs. by Brian Turner and the story Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, people and cultures are
destroyed and obliterated for no justified reason. 2000 lbs. is a story that describes one moment in
Iraq, where a taxi bomb blows up and shows the point of view of people that are around the bomb that
are being impacted. The story Things Fall Apart takes place in Africa near the Niger River, and is told
as a story that is passed down through his heritage about the cultural clash of the invading Europeans
and the native Africans. Both stories have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the two readings, repetition of death and destruction are constantly mentioned, which gives us a
sense that the characters can never get rid of the vicious cycle of violence. An ordinary day was turned
into a nightmare when a man strolling down the street happened to ride his bike past a taxi loaded with
a bomb, ... an instant / of clarity, just before each of them shatters / under the detonation s wave, / as if
even the idea of them were being destroyed, (Turner 602). The detonation is a thing that takes away
from his innocence and makes us believe that he was hopeless in trying to escape from the wave of
destruction. The unmasking and killing of the egwugwu provokes the Mother of the Spirits, sending
her howling throughout the village which is compared to being the very soul of the tribe [weeping] for
a great evil that was coming its own death (Achebe 187). This foreshadows the inevitable destruction
that can directly impact the groups of people as well as the imposement used to make them lose their
ideals and beliefs and instead replace them with the conquering

  • 3. Henry Morgentaler s Life And Life Essay Early Life Henry Morgentaler was born in Łódź, Poland to Josef and Golda Morgentaler on March 19, 1923. His father was a Jewish Labour Bund who later died during World War 2 when the Germans began occupying Poland. Soon after, Henry, along with his mother and brother, were sent to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. After being moved around between several different concentration camps Henry was finally freed by the US Army in April of 1945 and began receiving treatment for the wounds he accumulated during his time in the camps. In 1947 he moved to Belgium before sailing to Canada in 1950 with his new wife, writer, Chava Rosenfarb, whom he married in 1949. The couple lived in Montreal, Quebec where he studied medicine in the University of Montreal. Soon after receiving a Canadian Citizenship he became a general practitioner who specialized in family planning before becoming one of the first Canadian doctors to perform vasectomies. In addition he and his wife gave birth to two kids before getting a divorce in the mid 1970s. Morgentaler also pursued a short political career in 1972 when he ran in the Saint Denis riding for the Federal Election as an independent where he finished in fourth place. Crimes Committed In Eastern Montreal, Morgentaler worked in medicine as a doctor and he would get a lot of requests for abortions from women. • 4. Analysis Of Those Winter Sundays Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden Those winter Sundays written by Robert Hayden is a poem to ponder for a while. The poem may look simple, but analyzing it deeply shows that is a complicated one with a well defined sentiment of no appreciation and sorrow towards his father. These sentiments will change to the end of the poem. Also, the poem can be understood in various ways: one way could be a positive feeling from the writer towards his father or the other one could be a complaint about his father s toughness. The choice of words that Robert Hayden uses is not complicated, which makes it easy to read and understand at first glance and produces imagery of gloom and cold changing to warmth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But the kid did not realize that the father sacrifices his comfort waking up early in the morning to ignite the fire in order to heat up the house and give comfort to his family Sundays too many my father got up early and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,/ then with cracked hands that ached/ from labor in the weekday weather made/ banked fires blaze./ No one ever thanked him (1 5). There is no doubt that the father was a noble and responsible man. The writer uses middle diction because he uses an educated language but not elevated enough to be considered formal diction. He describes what the child would do on Sunday mornings: I d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking./ When the rooms were warm, he d call,/ and slowly I would rise and dress, (6 8). The writer uses a proper choice of words and reduces the formality with the apostrophe in the line number six. Another aspect of the poem that emphasizes the background of the poem is the syntax. Sundays too many my father got up early /and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold (1 2). Robert Hayden writes blueblack before cold to be more specific on the description of the early morning, which gives the idea of an uncomfortable cold weather. The author s tone on this poem changes from sorrow and bitterness to love and thankfulness. then with cracked hands that ached/ from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Similarities Between The Garden Of Eden And The Tabernacle Similarities Between the Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Throughout the Old Testament, the tabernacle was a centerfold of worshiping God for the Israelite people. This was where believers could congregate to seek peace, sing praises, and make animal sacrifices to God. The tabernacle was also a resting place for God to come down from Heaven and dwell with His children. Similarly, the Garden of Eden was once a perfect creation for God to have an earthly dwelling place to be with Adam and Eve. That, until the age old story of sin and deception came into place. The Garden of Eden was a perfect model of how God designed a place of worship to be, that is why He provided Moses with specific instructions of how the tabernacle should be built as a replica of the garden. The tabernacle stands as a symbolic model of the original creation the Garden of Eden, through its reproduction of several of the garden s well known features, such as the cherubim guarding the entrance, the Tree of Life, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the direction of the Garden facing east. The tabernacle s recreation of the cherubim guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden is in its placement of these angelic beings sitting above and protecting the sacred Ark of the Covenant. The ark was an intricately decorated wooden box holding a copy of the Ten Commandments, symbolizing the living presence of God among the people. The ark, like Eden, was a sacred place where only God could dwell and sin may never be present. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, cherubim were placed at the entrance of the Garden to shield His perfect creation from sin. In doing so, He made sure that the two would not find the entrance again, ( Guarding the Gate of Eden. ). Likewise, to protect the holiness of the ark, God ordered the Israelites to create cherubim to protect the ark from sin intruding upon its presence. Lisa Schachter states in her article, The Garden of Eden as God s First Sanctuary, that in both contexts [the cherubim] are the guardians of both the literal and figurative Tree of Life discussed in the story of creation. God did not want His perfect creation to become corrupted again, so He placed cherubim on both sides of the ark as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Death Of My Mother When I was a child, I dreamt about being a doctor helping others. I knew at the early age of 7 that I wanted to make a difference in others lives. After the death of my mother in 1999, I slowly changed my mind about what I wanted to do with my life. I told myself that I would do whatever it took to help bring justice for families that go through what I went through with the death of my mother. As I was going through college I realized that criminal justice wasn t for me after working in the field. • 8. Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best essay writers in the twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race, discrimination, sexuality and most of all his personal experiences. In Notes of a Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across. First, he likes to tell a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants the reader a chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the reader s is. He likes to argue and provides the basis for his argument in Notes of a Native Son . Throughout the essay he talks about himself and his father, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are stories he incorporates to illustrate the point. In the middle we move to a more self centered narrative. He tells of his story in New Jersey where he realized he could kill someone. He shares some of his thoughts of why people acted as they did towards him and others. This is an effective way he uses narrating and analyzing to work for the reader s understanding. The essay goes into great detail of his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65), and beautiful (64). He does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us some of the good as well. Throughout his storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the extent of the essay. In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger, and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart. (72) This hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told. The death had aroused feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. His contempt of his father (63) lasts through most of the essay. Soon after this, we find out that Mr. Baldwin is sick and has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Virginia made its money through tobacco, and along with that came an increase in slavery. On the other hand Massachusetts did not have as great of a demand for slaves. Though both of the settlements had different tactics, neither of them could avoid the problems from increase of immigration and both relied on their separate means of making profit. To conclude, it can be seen that both colonies, had similar goals as to what needed to be done to make their colonies last, but the methods that were used were very different. From Virginia and Massachusetts it can be determined that two colonies with the same goal can come to two separate political systems based off of their economic ... In the two readings, repetition of death and destruction are constantly mentioned, which gives us a sense that the characters can never get rid of the vicious cycle of violence. An ordinary day was turned into a nightmare when a man strolling down the street happened to ride his bike past a taxi loaded with a bomb, ... an instant / of clarity, just before each of them shatters / under the detonation s wave, / as if even the idea of them were being destroyed, (Turner 602). This foreshadows the inevitable destruction that can directly impact the groups of people as well as the imposement used to make them lose their ideals and beliefs and instead replace them with the conquering ... Chromatography is done to determine the presence of a mixture in a substance. In this experiment different dyes were used such as McCormick food coloring, M amp;M s, Kool Aid, and the dyes that came with the lab kit. Experiment and Observation: In this experiment a 50mL beaker was filled with luke warm water and a pinch of salt water was dissolved in it and set aside. A line was drawn with pencil 1 cm from the bottom of the paper and then the line was separated with cross lines 1.5cm apart on two sheets of chromatography paper. The sections on the first sheet of paper were labeled B1, B2, R3, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
