Taking a Look at Child Labor
Introduction
Child labor is often referred to the employment that neglects a child s childhood and the potential in
attending any schools. Children who are forced to work at a young age may also experience negative
effects such as health problems that will ultimately impact their overall growth. Generally, child labor
is closely classified as a rural phenomenon because of the significant amount of impoverished families
that send their children to work in both rural and urban areas. In rural areas, child labor in agriculture
rank among the highest. In urban areas, child trafficking, prostitution, and drug trafficking is the most
popular form of child labor. Moreover this process is extremely common for poor families because of
the need for extra income to survive. Children from all over the world are suffering from physical,
mental, and sexual disorders that transpires from child labor. In modern developed countries like the
United States, laws are passed to eliminate child labor, but there are still many cases of children
trafficking prior to the topic of child labor. However, child labor usually resides in the impoverished
countries due to the low socioeconomic status and their culture. According to International Labour
Organization (ILO), statistics shows that 246 million children are working at a young age (Lancet
2003. 32). Impoverished countries such as India, and Ghana are known to exploit children to work due
to extreme poverty. Child labor is an ongoing

Contribution Of Steve Wozniak
Engineer, inventor, computer programmer are three elements that describe Steve Wozniak. Many
people know that Steve Wozniak was an engineer of Apple, but he was so much more. As a well
known engineer of Apple, Steve Wozniak, showed Americans that technology could benefit them in
their daily lives. His legacy showed us to not give up when you fail.
The early life of Steve Wozniak s call to change started when he figured out that people could not
afford to buy a lot of technology, and decided he wanted to help. His parents taught him to always try
his best in everything he does. His dad, Francis Jacob Wozniak, came from Michigan and was an
engineer. Because of the job he had, it caught Wozniak s interest so Wozniak wanted to learn more. ...

One of his achievements was his inventions of technology. On Sunday, June 29, 1975, Wozniak was
the first person to type a character on a keyboard and see it show up right in front of his eyes on a
screen. The computer he invented was called the Apple computer. (Lusted, pg 25 26) CL9 was used to
design and market a universal remote control device that he invented which is known as Core.
(encyclopedia.com, Website) While achieving his inventions, he also achieved something else.
He achieved his goals. One of the goals he achieved was finally finishing a device that hacks into
phone lines to make free long distance calls known as the blue box. (Doeden, pg 13) Steve Wozniak
quotes, I simply took a year off to earn money for my fourth year of school. And then my career kept
going up. (Seiter, Website) This quote is showing that he achieved his goal to earn money and use that
money to go to college and learn about technology and engineering. The technology he made and the
goals that were a success were all achievements that he had finished during his

Mini Cooper
Introduction
Marketing communication is an ever changing field. New theories, new techniques, cultural changes
and technological advances all combine to create a dynamic environment within which marketers try
to ensure that their messages get through to their target audiences (Blythe, 2006, p.2). Fill (2005)
argues that marketing communications is the way in which organisations reach their target audiences
or it is an audience centred activity (Fill, 2005, p.9).
This report aims to analyse the current marketing communication activities for one of the most
recognised brands in the UK and the world, MINI Cooper. The first part includes some background
information and after that the report follows the planning framework provided by ... Show more

2.1.2. Levels of awareness, perception and attitudes towards MINI
As Keller (1993, p. 3) argues, [...] perceptions about a brand as reflected by the brand associations
held in consumer memory . Keller (1998) also suggests that there are three categories that constitute
the overall brand perception: attributes; benefits and attitudes. A study conducted by Simms and Trott
(2006) explores the brand perception of the MINI stakeholders. Based on their findings researchers
established a model that gives a perspective on a product brand by linking specific brand associations
to the image that is developed in the mind of the consumer or stakeholder, and finally linking this to
how the image appeals to key stakeholders (Simms and Trott, 2006) . The application of their model to
the MINI brand is presented in Appendix 2. .
2.1.3 Involvement
The types of involvement that can be identified in MINI s customers are related to the so called
product and ego involvement as the interest is mainly in the MINI itself, but also relates to the
customers self concept (Solomon et al, 2006). What is more, MINI has become an icon and the level
of involvement can be associated with cult products (Solomon et al, 2006).
2.2. The business context
2.2.1 Corporate/marketing plans
As mentioned above the MINI business context is inevitably related to that of the overall BMW

Disadvantages Of Lesbian Art
To group a subsection of artists under the umbrella term lesbian artists , is to do them and their art a
disservice. Lesbian artists are just as varied in their work as any other group of artists. Possibly it is
just easier for people to have labels so as to easily identify what they like or dislike. It seems as though
for some, it has been a selling point or marketing tool, for better or worse. According to Sadie Lee in
her essay for Outlooks, This means there exists a certain amount of tokenism where if someone were
in need of a lesbian artist (for equal opportunity reasons or in an attempt to be alternative or
controversial) my chances of being selected are rather good. She continues on to say that had she been
viewed on her skills as an artist alone, and not her sexuality, she would not have been given the
opportunities for exposure that she has had (Lee 124). So, is it imperative that we give a definitive
label to it? No, but Harmony Hammond puts it eloquently when she states, I like to think of lesbian art
as a braid with three strands, gender, sexuality, and art, though from time to time other strands, such as
history or identity are woven in and out...a flexible rope of incredible strength and beauty (Hammond
10). Although it defies singular definition lesbian art is as fluid and dynamic as the groups it tries to
encompass: women, lesbians, feminists, dykes, bisexuals, gender queer, and so on. While the term
lesbian art is relatively new, it is a product of

Scripture In Kinder s Essay
This psalm begins by promising blessings to all those who choose to keep God s law; while the
ungodly, who reject it, will ultimately perish. As Kinder (1973) concludes, But the Day will disclose
the man of straw as surely as the works of straw (p. 65).
The company a man keeps testifies of his character. People of the same sort or with the same tastes
and interests will be found together. As the old proverb states, birds of a feather flock together . The
psalmist tells us that those who delight in the law of the Lord (Ps. 1:2), will not be found taking advice
from or keeping company with the ungodly. As the New Testament Scripture instructs, Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness ... Show more

God, but not one of those are as long as the one the psalmist penned praising those same laws. This
author seems to have been in love with the law of God and well acquainted with the benefits of
obeying it. As some have speculated that being written as an acrostic poem, with each letter of the
Hebrew alphabet being represented by beginning one of the 22 stanzas, could it not be concluded as
being symbolic of complete devotion to the Law of God?

The Pop Art Movement Essay
The Pop Art Movement
Pop art got its name from Lawrence Alloway, who was a British art critic in 1950 s. The name Pop Art
reflected on the familiar imagery of the contemporary urban environment (kleiner, 981). This art form
was popular for its bold and simple looks plus its bright and vibrant colors. An example of this type of
art is the oil painting done by Andy Warhol, Marilyn Diptych (Warhol, Marilyn Diptych) in 1962. The
Pop art movement became known in the mid 1950 and continued as main type of art form until the
late 1960 s. The Pop art movement, was a movement where medium played a huge part in the society,
with it reflecting on advertisements, comic strips and even celebrities, like Marilyn. This movement

The movement s rise was aided by parallel growth in other areas (ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ART
HISTORY). Though after the Pop art movement s peak during the mid 1960s, the movement took a
turn, and found itself losing its popularity; when the Vietnam War was in effect; by the late 1960 s and
early 1970 s the pop art movement had ended.
Though this Pop Art movement happened in a few other countries other than the United States and
Britain; the movement was also reflected in the country, France. Though in France their movement
was known as Nouveau Réalisme, which is the equivalent to the Pop art movement (The Art Story
Foundation ). This movement reflected the Pop art movement both focused on commercial culture, the
Nouveau Réalisme and its artists focused more on their concerned with objects than with painting
(The Art Story Foundation ).Another movement that the pop art movement was link to in a way was
its counterpart in Germany known as Capitalist Realism. Though this movement was a movement that
focused on subjects taken from commodity culture and utilized an aesthetic based in the mass media
(The Art Story Foundation ).The artist within this movement wanted to expose consumerism and
superficiality of contemporary capitalist society by using the imagery and aesthetic of popular art and
advertising within their work (The Art Story Foundation ). These two movements were two movement
that were linked to the Pop Art movement.

CASEMaker Inc. What is Rapid Application Development? The availability of powerful CASE
software makes it possible for developers to create systems much faster than ever before. These new
integrated CASE toolsets are breaking out of the bubble of traditional software development thought.
They take application development beyond generation coding, just as generation, many years ago,
surpassed textual coding. These tools enable a developer to drag and drop previously generated code,
saving that developer the time and effort of individually hand coding the text of the application. CASE
tools also enable a developer to implement Rapid Application Development irrespective of their
programming language or platform. programming language. Stanley Marcus of Neiman Marcus said,
There are only two things of importance. One is the customer, and the other is the product. If you take
care of customers, they come back. If you take care of the product, it doesn t come back. It s just that
simple. And it s just that difficult. Rapid Application Development, in addition to providing a more

My Opinion One Of Hummanity s Greatest Art Masterpieces
In my opinion one of hummanity s greatest art masterpieces was created during the period of 1495 98.
The fresco was made during Renaissance using tempera and oil on gresso. It s measurements are 460
880cm (15/29ft). The genue fresco is in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. It was
financed by the Duke Of Milan. Until then the Last Supper had usually appeared in sacred wall
paintings as part of the Passion cycle, but in this period it emerges as an isolated scene and acquires a
particular significance as a subject for refectories. (Ludwig H.Heydenreich 1974) In the last supper,
Jesus is portrayed with twelve of his disciples. The Last Supper specifically represents the responses
given by all disciples when Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Remaining outside the circle of those innocently smitten, he, who alone shares the secret with Christ,
is the second lone figure in the picture; but his isolation is due to guilt. (Ludwig H.Heydenreich 1974)
He is grasping a tiny bag, possibly indicating the remuneration given to him as a contribution of
betraying Jesus. He is had poured out the salt next to his right hand. This action could be relative to
the expression to betray the salt signifying to betray one s Master. His elbow is on the table and his
head is in the lowest level of all disciples in the painting. Peter looks irritated and is having a knife in
his hand pointed away from Jesus.
In the middle of all groups is Jesus, the most significant figure in the painting, he is sitting in front of
three windows that are at the end of the room. And so we see him in the midst of his most faithful
followers, who are after all only men, able to grasp the external event but without understanding its
inner meaning as the suddenly isolated God, alone in the knowledge of his destiny which only he can
see as sacrifice and mystery . (Ludwig H.Heydenreich 1974)
Jesus explains the Jewish Kiddush (blessing of wine and bread) and delivers the later Christian
tradition of communion. Jesus gives a sign in the form of an action he takes simultaneously with the
traitor, involving the dipping of bread.
Within his left hand Jesus is showing a piece of bread

The Day of the Locust Essay
Nathanael West s The Day of the Locust tells the story of people who have come to California in
search of the American Dream. They travel west hoping to escape less than perfect lives and pursue
success in
Hollywood. The characters in this novel dream of a life of luxury, having lots of money, and living
happily ever after. They eventually come to the realization that the seemingly picture perfect life that
California represents is not as easy to attain as they once thought. The characters in The Day of the
Locust grow discontented and disappointed with their lives and embittered towards the world, which
instigates the downfall of this lower level of Hollywood society. Todd Hackett, Faye Greener, and

Faye s insincere discernment of love is a prevalent example of Hollywood s degenerative impact upon
those in search of materialistic success.
Todd s failed efforts to gain the love of Faye Greener characterize his downfall and failure to aspire to
his dreams and goals. While continuing to pay no attention to Todd, Faye Greener strives to become
famous among the movie scene in Hollywood. Her beauty and allure are only surpassed by her
rapaciousness and materialism. A dim cognizance of these traits lead her to blame herself for her
father s death. I killed him (122), Faye exclaims realizing that she had once informed him that if he
could not buy her what she wanted that she would leave him to find someone who could. As Faye
faces her guilt for her father s demise, she furthermore sacrifices her moral beliefs when she works as
a prostitute to afford her father s funeral. Miss Greener s life strays more distant from her dreams as
she finds herself being sucked deeper into the Hollywood world of sex, drugs, and deceit. Faye s
selfishness not only shatters her dreams, but correspondingly plays with the emotions and lives of
others. Her constant flirting leads to fights between Earle Shoop and Miquel, eventually transforming
two friends into loathing ememies. At the same time, she drives Homer Simpson to madness. Faye
continuously makes herself the center of trouble while

Effects Of Colonization In Africa
J. Klíma argues that Africa was the most affected by colonization. Colonialism established artificial
states which did not respect ethnic, natural and cultural units. Massive decolonization of the countries
in Africa commenced mainly after the Second World War. The Anglophone countries struggled for
their independence more or less successfully. Great Britain began to retreat from the Empire shortly
after 1945. The British government fell back because they could not afford financing of the
administration, army and other important issues to maintain their distant possessions. There was not
only lack of interest to engage in African possessions, there was also general persuasion of
illegitimacy of colonialism. It is confirmed by United Nations resolution (Declaration on the Granting
of Independence to Colonial Countries and People). According to this resolution, Recognizing the
passionate yearning for freedom in all dependent peoples and the decisive role of such peoples in the
attainment of their independence, and Recognizing that the peoples of the world ardently desire the
end of colonialism in all its manifestations, Milestone in decolonization in sub Saharan Africa became

Drugs In Mexico
Our feud with Mexico is incomprehensible on many levels. Included in the mix are the wall that our
president wants the Mexican people to pay for, the North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA)
that he wishes to renegotiate, and the apparent flight of some U.S. companies south of the border in
pursuit of lower labor and environmental costs. These are business decisions based on considerations
of profits and regulations.
The issue of the wall likely has political as well as economic implications. One purported rationale for
the wall is to stem the influx of drugs from Mexico to the US. It will also serve as a buffer against
people entering the U.S. by circumventing legal means. The estimated cost of the wall (1300 miles

This is one way to drive wages up. An alternate approach recognizes that workers who are happy in
their jobs, who are paid more (perhaps above market), tend to work harder. Higher wages also reduce
job leaving propensities and the cost of training new workers. Overall, workers whose productivity is
rewarded tend to be more efficient. Rewarding productivity mitigates income inequality. This is more
benign than fear driven wages increases due to labor shortages resulting expelling undocumented
workers and building a beautiful wall.

Repealing the ACA, gutting the Department of Labor, EPA, the Department of Education, Medicaid,

Code Of Ethics Paper
A code of ethics is one of many documents an organization will develop to establish how they will
conduct business. In many organizations, documents such as the mission statement stand alone and are
reviewed annually, put on company letter head, passed out on business cards and so forth. To increase
the visibility of an organization, I would take steps to add bullets from the organizations ethics
program to things such as business cards, put it on the corporate website, have it as a screen saver on
all corporate computers and even integrate it into the voice mail of phones and when callers are placed
on hold. I would ensure the organization looks at its corporate ethics in a similar fashion as this look at
their vision statement.
To ensure the viability and sustainability of a corporate ethics program, Man Fong, McGeorge,
Loosemore (2004) have broken the step of implementing a corporate ethics program into five step.
The steps are as follows: Objectives, Creation, Content, Implementation and Enforcement, and
Administration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

American Football Players Analysis
Starting Safely: Positions in American Football Positions are important in every aspect of life, from

being and safety of those involved. In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American
Football Players?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit
Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the correct position
American football players should use when playing. This optimal position is the one most likely to
protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning
of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and
long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Due to these major risks, an experiment was
conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting position to lower

2014). The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers a medium risk,
especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. If a football player has had a
concussion before or is at a higher chance of receiving one, the 2 point start is the safest out of all
three positions studied (Bonnechere,

Titus Andronicus during the Spanish War of Succession In 2000, Julie Taymor restaged Shakespeare s
Titus Andronicus, mixing it with World War II era culture. By taking one of Shakespeare s goriest
tragedies and combining it with one of the most devastating moments in history, Taymor provides a
new perspective on the play, in particular the universality of its conflicts. These conflicts are not only
elevant at the end of the sixteenth century when Shakespeare wrote Titus Andronicus, but they are also
suitable for the 1940s during World War II. By making a statement on how tenuous relationships

As a result, France, Bavaria, and Austria offered their heirs as the future Spanish monarch, similar to
how Saturninus, Bassianus, and Titus are all up for the Roman Empire in the play. Being the sons of
the previous emperor, Saturninus and Bassianus cite their relations to him as the reason they should

As Saturninus states, plead my successive title with your swords. / I am his first born son (1.1 5 6).
Generally in Rome, succession was hereditary; however, if the candidate was considered unsuitable,

the Spanish throne by King Charles II, but other countries feared that this would lead to the unification
of Spain and France as one country. Accordingly, Philip too was then met with resistance despite his

Many changes were made to funerary architecture as the years progressed. In Early Dynastic period,
the elite members of society would be buried under a tomb structure called a mastaba. Inside the

These funerary structures would often be arranged together into a necropolis and would be faced

The description of Max Demian given by Emil Sinclair is right on with that of Ricky Fitts: He seemed
too superior and detached, his manner too provocatively confident...I can only say that he was in every

him noticeable even though he did his best not to be noticed... (Hesse 27). This quality is seen by
Lester Burnham with his first encounter with Ricky Fitts when they are smoking marijuana. Ricky s

with Max Demian, Emil gains the confidence to tell Franz Kromer he will not bring his sister for him
to meet and also tells his mother that he stole money from her piggy bank. In American Beauty, we see
Lester Burnham slowly open up and he begins to speak his mind, instead of being afraid and keeping
his mouth shut. An example of this is when he has a dispute with his wife Carol about their sexual
frustrations. He says: This hasn t been a marriage for years, but you were happy as

Analysis Of The Beaker With Ibex Motifs
The Beaker with Ibex Motifs is a prehistoric pottery art work, found in near perfect condition during a
1906 1908 excavation of a Susian necropolis in Susa, Iran. The Beaker with Ibex Motifs is a large
vessel with dimensions at 28.90 x 16.40 cm. Used by the first inhabitants of Susa, this beaker is a the
first example of a funerary item. The identity of artist is unknown, however, it is thought the beaker
was created sometime between 4200 and 3500 B.C.E. The Beaker with Ibex Motifs exemplifies the
artist s contribution to an art style called animal style, which places emphasis on animal motifs. The
artist placed animals throughout the beaker that are relevant to their culture and livelihood. Circling

A Study On Bacterial Transformation
Bacterial Transformation
Fiona Obas
5155246
U42 Abstract
DNA encodes the genetic instructions for cells to carry out their daily activities. DNA can come in
many forms; plasmids for example are small circular DNA molecules found in most bacterial cells.
Though plasmids may not be essential for the life of bacteria, it can give cells resistance in foreign
environments. For the purpose of this experiment, an ampicillin resistant plasmid is introduced to E.
coli. This is done through a process of genetic engineering called transformation. Transformation
works through the uptake, incorporation, and expression of a foreign gene to alter the genetic code of
a cell. Three conditions are needed for successful transformation: a host, a vector, and a technique to
identify the transformed cells. E. coli is used in this experiment as the host (E. coli is commonly used
in biotechnology due to its rapid rate of growth and short reproduction time). A vector mediates the
transfer of foreign DNA into the host cell. Plasmids are commonly used vectors that will also be used
in this experiment. The procedure of tagging is used in this experiment to differentiate the transformed
cells from those that were not. The learning objectives of this experiment are to: observe the process
of bacterial transformation in an experiment; and demonstrate a change in phenotype due to uptake
and expression of the genes in a known plasmid.

The Technology Of The Automotive System
Introduction
It is an Unfailing thought in the minds of scientists that the new cars that will travel through the future
highways will be connected. It is expected that the Automotive Systems will have built in powerful
abilities of Communication that has been designed to be integrated with an assortment of enhanced
features and driving functions. This will be done via complex internal networks.
Automotive application such as devices and dashboard displays would then share information with
vehicles that are connected, with this the vehicles will also be able to exchange data to roadside units
that are connected to the network this would include streetlights, traffic lights, trains that cross road
etc. All of which will be connected to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Research Paper On Fallujah
Introduction
The first battle in Fallujah during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) is known as Operation Vigilant
Resolve. This battle is regarded as one of the biggest single defeats that the United States Military has
suffered throughout all its campaigns during OIF. The United States and international media outlets
exploited this defeat, which in turn, bolstered Al Qaeda recruiting in Fallujah. This offensive failure
and retreat was backed by a huge public outcry for troop withdrawal and successful exploitation of
recruiting propaganda by the insurgents.
Lieutenant General James Conway, Commander of the First Expeditionary Force (MEF), was ordered
to withdrawal his Marines from Fallujah and leave the city to the insurgents1. ... Show more content

The Persian King, King Shapur renamed the city Piruz Shapur ( Victorious Shapur )4. For six
centuries the city was prized during Persian and Roman wars. The Persians never lost control and
turned the city into a lavish place to live. In 1920, Fallujah would again be a site for another battle
after the assignation of a British Officer and explorer, Lt. Col. Gerald Leachman. The British would
wage a massive air attack and dropped bombs indiscriminately killing anyone within reach. In the end,
over 1000 British soldiers and 10,000 Iraqis were killed. With a long history of war and radical
religious attitude, Fallujah turned into a capital of insurgency in Iraq. For more the 200 years or 10
generations, Fallujah was influenced by Wahabbi or Salafi ideas. These ideas came out of the eastern
part of Saudi Arabia in the late 18th century. Meaning people of the city are linked together through
tribes, marriage, and family to Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan due to the city being a seaport5.
With a long history of war and radical religious attitude, Fallujah turned into a capital of insurgency in
Iraq.
Fallujah s economy sank and didn t start recovering until around the 1940s. Due to its locality next to
the Euphrates River, the area was highly suited for agriculture. Following the Second World War,
western interest in oil production and exploration had grown drastically, and so had the price by which
it traded. It led to a population explosion

Persuasive Essay On Dunkning
We have investigated the slam dunk from its humble origins predating even the Big Bang to its present
day status as one of sports most exciting feats. Every iota of knowledge on the subject of dunking has
been presented. There truly is no more to say about dunks as we know them or as they were known to
inhabitants of previous eras. Thus, dear reader, we must look beyond the present time, into the
uncertain haze of the future, to hypothesize on what dunks will look like ten, twenty, a hundred, a
thousand years from now.
The maximum level of human athleticism is constantly rising due to improvements in nutrition
science and training regimens. Elite athletes twenty years from now will doubtlessly be capable of
more than the elite athletes of today. We will have faster runners, higher jumpers, and stronger lifters.
But this will have little effect on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ten decades of athletic improvements will have yielded the ability to dunk on a fourteen foot rim, but
dunking is still rare enough among the general populace that basketball rims will remain at their
customary ten feet. However, robotic implants in human limbs have augmented humanity s collective
athleticism and propelled it to new heights. Relying on the natural actions of our muscles, these
implants amplify what our bodies already do. Neither the high school game nor the professional game
(the college game has long since been dismantled) allow these implants in their players, but
independently run amateur leagues featuring players so implanted begin to gain large followings. The
rims in these games are set at fifteen feet, and there is very little jumpshooting; most plays involve a
series of in air alley oop passes attempting to get a player open for a dunk. Astute readers will note
that this new dunkball is the spiritual successor to the unheralded and forgotten slamball , which was
played in trampolines in the early 2000 s to audiences of a few

Eukaryotic Cells And Its Functions
Eukaryotic cells are complex and include all animal and plant cells. Prokaryotic cells are smaller and
simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008)
Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do not contain these.
Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus. The nucleus is the
largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear envelope) containing lots of pores. The
nuclear membrane protects contents of the nucleus and controls the transport of substances in and out.
The nucleus contains linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage. Chromatin is
formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a structure called
the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the cytoplasm in the cell through the
nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into RNA.
Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the DNA, these cells
contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the DNA float freely inside the
cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary to keep the cell alive. For example including
genes that make the bacteria cell resistant to antibiotics.
Both cells transcribe DNA into RNA in order to translate RNA and produce proteins on ribosomes.
Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in eukaryotic cells. There are two types of ER: Smooth and rough.
This organelle is formed of a network of

Analysis Of The Article 10 Reasons Why Homosexual...

Final Critical Analysis Paper In the Article 10 Reasons Why Homosexual Marriage is Harmful and
Must be Opposed by TFP Student Action the group lays out ten points on why it believes homosexual
marriage is not only wrong but is harmful to society. The article gives 10 reasons why same sex
marriage is wrong: it is not marriage, it violates natural law, it always denies a child either a father or a
mother, it validates and promotes the homosexual lifestyle, it turns moral wrong into a civil rights, it
does not create a family but a naturally sterile union, it defeats the state s purpose of benefiting
marriage, it imposes its acceptance on all society, it s the cutting edge of the sexual revolution, and it
offends God. These reasons may sound rational on the surface, but I am going to point out flaws I see
in these arguments. In the first argument, TFP Student Action makes the claim that marriage has
always been a covenant between one man and one woman, which is far from true. According to The
Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry, In many cultures, both ancient and
modern, polygamy has been quite common, which describes the relationship of one husband with
multiple wives (CLGS). The fact that marriage has not always been between one man and one woman
obviously discredits the argument made by the Student Action Group. Seeing as how the TFP s
definition of marriage has been discredited its argument from that

Investigating How Control Is Through Technology
Investigate how control, through technology is exercised in the chosen organisation.
INTRODUCTION
For any kind of organisation to exist, there should be controlling system over it. On the bases of
academic articles, corse book, experience of a senior manager of pharmaceutical business and
researcher s personal experience of teleworking, this report shows how variable technologies help
managers lead employees, control the relationships with partner companies, influence customers. In
other words how it helps businesses to become more successful and competable. It demonstrates how
different types of technology affect the business, in most cases leading it to a greater profit and lower
costs. However, it evaluates some disadvantages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technology affects unemployment, economic growth, and organisational structure of jobs. Through
innovation in technology, new jobs are created while old jobs are made redundant. There is also an
overall skill upgrading effect while some tasks are deskilled.
Current stage of technological development gives the opportunity of nonstandard work to the business
world. Examples include freelance, telecommuting, workshifting, home working and the idea of
blended workforce, when standard and nonstandard employes work side by side. Nonstandard jobs are
more common for high skilled, high paid workers; it allows more fredom and flexibility. Some
disadvantages of homeworking and teleworking involve absense of team spirit and lack of face to face
social interactions and sharing ideas. In addition management connot easily monitor, control the
activity and make sure that employees are working towards the same goal.
Recently, applying blogs for knowledge sharing and problems solving across the organisation has
dramatically changed the nature of work. Managers use technological methods to encourage informal
coordination and make the workplase more engaging for benefiting the teamwork. Same
communication tools are utilized between managers of different department to combine their work
together or by partner companies to do business together regardless of time zone and language issues.

Skin Cliper Method
The skin caliper method of measuring body fat is where 3, 4, or 7 specific parts of the body called
sites, usually the chest, arm, abdominals, and thigh, are pinched and then the thickness is measured by
skin calipers. The practitioner then plugs the numbers into a formula to estimate the body
composition. Some pros for this method are that it is the most accessible, inexpensive and quick out of
all 5 methods in the article, they are common in gyms, who also usually have staff that know how to
use the skin calipers. You can even buy a pair of calipers and test your body composition yourself,

body mass in every limb individually, they are incredibly accurate tests, and it only requires you to lay

Essay on Critique of Hume s Analysis of Causality
Critique of Hume s Analysis of Causality
Hume s analyses of human apprehension and of causality were the most penetrating up to his time and
continue to have great influence. Contemporary Spanish philosopher Xavier Zubiri (1893 1983) has
examined both and identified three underlying errors: (1) the failure to recognize that there are three
stages of human intellection, and especially that the first, primordial apprehension, has quite unique
characteristics; (2) the attempt to place an excessive burden on the content of impressions while
ignoring what Zubiri terms their formality of reality ; and (3) the failure to recognize that
functionality, not causality, is the basis for most of our knowledge. Causal chains in general cannot be

This task Hume undertook in his Treatise of Human Nature, Book I. In Part IV, he is concerned to
establish a reason or explanation for our belief in the independent and continuing existence of external
things or bodies , for upon this all causal reasoning about such things must ultimately rest. As is well
known, Hume argues that such belief must either come from the senses, reason, or what he terms
imagination ; and he dismisses the first two, leaving only the last, where he attributes the belief to
coherence and constancy of impressions. (1)
For the present study, details of Hume s argument are not as important as his basic assumptions. One
of those assumptions, never explicitly stated but always lurking just beneath the surface, is that all
reasoning and understanding of the external world comes from the mind working on the content of
sensible impressions, be they pains, pleasures, colors, or sounds. The burden of inferring the existence
of things outside of the mind then must fall upon the mind and those processes available to it, because
what the senses deliver is inadequate to the task:
That our senses offer not their impressions as the images of something distinct, or independent, and
external, is evident; because they convey to us

Archaeological Synthesis Of Stonehenge And Ale s Stones Site
Kelsi Aryn Mascola Dr. Kaiser 0552074 Monday December 6th 2015 A Current Comparative
Archaeological Synthesis of Stonehenge and Ale s Stones Site The Bronze age of Scandinavia, taking
place from 1750 500 BC, is characterized by the start of bedrock carvings of huge ships, the large
sudden spread of amber in Mycenaean graves, and appearance of bronze (Morner and Lind 2015). The
early Scandinavian and Baltic region practiced an early burial structure that was shaped as a ship, or
ship setting, using large monumental rocks (Sparavigina 2012). This burial structure, seen as the
outline of a ship from aerial views, surrounds graves, using either tight or loose large stones
(Sparavigninal 2012). While these ship settings can vary in size, the archaeological ... Show more

This monument measured up to 360ft in diameter, consisting of one larger entrance facing the
northeast and one smaller entrance facing the south, built on a sloping landscape in an open grassland
(Lawson 1997). The bottom of the ditch contained worked flint tools as well as deer and oxen bones
(Lawson 1997). Prior to the burial of the bones, it is evident that they were well taken care of and
considerably older than the antlers used to construct the ditch (Nils Axel 2012). While the ditch was
continuous, it was dug with antler picks in sections (similar to the discovered ditches of the earlier
dated causewayed enclosures near the site) (Lawson 1997). The unearthed chalk was used to make the
banks of the ditch and date this first stage of monumental construction to approximately 3100 BC. The
outer edge of the enclosure area consists of a circle of 56 pits, each measuring roughly 3ft 3inch in
diameter, and named Aubrey Holes due to the 17th century discoverer (Lawson 1997). It is plausible
that these pits may have held free standing timber (creating a timber circle) but not enough
archaeological/excavated material remains to say for sure. A recent archaeological excavation
proposes that these holes originally could have been used by the builders to erect a singular bluestone

Evaluating The Logistics Of Loans And Debt- Related Fees
Rutherford B. Hayes once said, let every man, every corporation, and especially let every village,
town, and city, every county and State, get out of debt and keep out of debt. It is the debtor that is
ruined by hard times. (Hayes 56). Although students seek to succeed in life and choose to further their
education, the cost of colleges and universities almost seem to be exorbitant. The emotional toll of
worrying about how the various expenses will be paid and covered for makes it very onerous for one
to pay attention in class. Society says, we want our students to attend college, we will even provide a
small stipend. The money that students are given is not nearly enough to pay even half expenses that
they are responsible for. Scholars all over should be informed about the logistics of loans and debt
related fees in order to alleviate financial stress that comes with paying back loans. Loans are intended
to be governmental assistance to the various individuals that not only display financial need, but to
those who qualify as well. There are many different types of loans such as: student, mortgage, auto,
personal, business, retirement, equity and many others that are available to individuals in need. Not a
lot of people will inform individuals that the interest rate is high and how loans can affect ones credit
score. According to statistics, the most popular loans taken out are student loans and business loans.
Both of these loans typically have high interest rates

  • 2. Taking a Look at Child Labor Introduction Child labor is often referred to the employment that neglects a child s childhood and the potential in attending any schools. Children who are forced to work at a young age may also experience negative effects such as health problems that will ultimately impact their overall growth. Generally, child labor is closely classified as a rural phenomenon because of the significant amount of impoverished families that send their children to work in both rural and urban areas. In rural areas, child labor in agriculture rank among the highest. In urban areas, child trafficking, prostitution, and drug trafficking is the most popular form of child labor. Moreover this process is extremely common for poor families because of the need for extra income to survive. Children from all over the world are suffering from physical, mental, and sexual disorders that transpires from child labor. In modern developed countries like the United States, laws are passed to eliminate child labor, but there are still many cases of children trafficking prior to the topic of child labor. However, child labor usually resides in the impoverished countries due to the low socioeconomic status and their culture. According to International Labour Organization (ILO), statistics shows that 246 million children are working at a young age (Lancet 2003. 32). Impoverished countries such as India, and Ghana are known to exploit children to work due to extreme poverty. Child labor is an ongoing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Contribution Of Steve Wozniak Engineer, inventor, computer programmer are three elements that describe Steve Wozniak. Many people know that Steve Wozniak was an engineer of Apple, but he was so much more. As a well known engineer of Apple, Steve Wozniak, showed Americans that technology could benefit them in their daily lives. His legacy showed us to not give up when you fail. The early life of Steve Wozniak s call to change started when he figured out that people could not afford to buy a lot of technology, and decided he wanted to help. His parents taught him to always try his best in everything he does. His dad, Francis Jacob Wozniak, came from Michigan and was an engineer. Because of the job he had, it caught Wozniak s interest so Wozniak wanted to learn more. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of his achievements was his inventions of technology. On Sunday, June 29, 1975, Wozniak was the first person to type a character on a keyboard and see it show up right in front of his eyes on a screen. The computer he invented was called the Apple computer. (Lusted, pg 25 26) CL9 was used to design and market a universal remote control device that he invented which is known as Core. (encyclopedia.com, Website) While achieving his inventions, he also achieved something else. He achieved his goals. One of the goals he achieved was finally finishing a device that hacks into phone lines to make free long distance calls known as the blue box. (Doeden, pg 13) Steve Wozniak quotes, I simply took a year off to earn money for my fourth year of school. And then my career kept going up. New theories, new techniques, cultural changes and technological advances all combine to create a dynamic environment within which marketers try to ensure that their messages get through to their target audiences (Blythe, 2006, p.2). Fill (2005) argues that marketing communications is the way in which organisations reach their target audiences or it is an audience centred activity (Fill, 2005, p.9). This report aims to analyse the current marketing communication activities for one of the most recognised brands in the UK and the world, MINI Cooper. Levels of awareness, perception and attitudes towards MINI As Keller (1993, p. 3) argues, [...] perceptions about a brand as reflected by the brand associations held in consumer memory . Keller (1998) also suggests that there are three categories that constitute the overall brand perception: attributes; benefits and attitudes. A study conducted by Simms and Trott (2006) explores the brand perception of the MINI stakeholders. Based on their findings researchers established a model that gives a perspective on a product brand by linking specific brand associations to the image that is developed in the mind of the consumer or stakeholder, and finally linking this to how the image appeals to key stakeholders (Simms and Trott, 2006) . The application of their model to the MINI brand is presented in Appendix 2. . 2.1.3 Involvement The types of involvement that can be identified in MINI s customers are related to the so called product and ego involvement as the interest is mainly in the MINI itself, but also relates to the customers self concept (Solomon et al, 2006). What is more, MINI has become an icon and the level of involvement can be associated with cult products (Solomon et al, 2006). 2.2. • 5. Disadvantages Of Lesbian Art To group a subsection of artists under the umbrella term lesbian artists , is to do them and their art a disservice. Lesbian artists are just as varied in their work as any other group of artists. Possibly it is just easier for people to have labels so as to easily identify what they like or dislike. It seems as though for some, it has been a selling point or marketing tool, for better or worse. According to Sadie Lee in her essay for Outlooks, This means there exists a certain amount of tokenism where if someone were in need of a lesbian artist (for equal opportunity reasons or in an attempt to be alternative or controversial) my chances of being selected are rather good. She continues on to say that had she been viewed on her skills as an artist alone, and not her sexuality, she would not have been given the opportunities for exposure that she has had (Lee 124). So, is it imperative that we give a definitive label to it? No, but Harmony Hammond puts it eloquently when she states, I like to think of lesbian art as a braid with three strands, gender, sexuality, and art, though from time to time other strands, such as history or identity are woven in and out...a flexible rope of incredible strength and beauty (Hammond 10). Although it defies singular definition lesbian art is as fluid and dynamic as the groups it tries to encompass: women, lesbians, feminists, dykes, bisexuals, gender queer, and so on. While the term lesbian art is relatively new, it is a product of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Scripture In Kinder s Essay This psalm begins by promising blessings to all those who choose to keep God s law; while the ungodly, who reject it, will ultimately perish. As Kinder (1973) concludes, But the Day will disclose the man of straw as surely as the works of straw (p. 65). The company a man keeps testifies of his character. People of the same sort or with the same tastes and interests will be found together. As the old proverb states, birds of a feather flock together . The psalmist tells us that those who delight in the law of the Lord (Ps. 1:2), will not be found taking advice from or keeping company with the ungodly. As some have speculated that being written as an acrostic poem, with each letter of the Hebrew alphabet being represented by beginning one of the 22 stanzas, could it not be concluded as being symbolic of complete devotion to the Law of God? The name Pop Art reflected on the familiar imagery of the contemporary urban environment (kleiner, 981). This art form was popular for its bold and simple looks plus its bright and vibrant colors. • 10. My Opinion One Of Hummanity s Greatest Art Masterpieces In my opinion one of hummanity s greatest art masterpieces was created during the period of 1495 98. The fresco was made during Renaissance using tempera and oil on gresso. It s measurements are 460 880cm (15/29ft). The genue fresco is in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. It was financed by the Duke Of Milan. Until then the Last Supper had usually appeared in sacred wall paintings as part of the Passion cycle, but in this period it emerges as an isolated scene and acquires a particular significance as a subject for refectories. Remaining outside the circle of those innocently smitten, he, who alone shares the secret with Christ, is the second lone figure in the picture; but his isolation is due to guilt. This action could be relative to the expression to betray the salt signifying to betray one s Master. His elbow is on the table and his head is in the lowest level of all disciples in the painting. Peter looks irritated and is having a knife in his hand pointed away from Jesus. In the middle of all groups is Jesus, the most significant figure in the painting, he is sitting in front of three windows that are at the end of the room. And so we see him in the midst of his most faithful followers, who are after all only men, able to grasp the external event but without understanding its inner meaning as the suddenly isolated God, alone in the knowledge of his destiny which only he can see as sacrifice and mystery . (Ludwig H.Heydenreich 1974) Jesus explains the Jewish Kiddush (blessing of wine and bread) and delivers the later Christian tradition of communion. • 13. Effects Of Colonization In Africa J. Klíma argues that Africa was the most affected by colonization. Colonialism established artificial states which did not respect ethnic, natural and cultural units. Massive decolonization of the countries in Africa commenced mainly after the Second World War. The Anglophone countries struggled for their independence more or less successfully. Great Britain began to retreat from the Empire shortly after 1945. The British government fell back because they could not afford financing of the administration, army and other important issues to maintain their distant possessions. There was not only lack of interest to engage in African possessions, there was also general persuasion of illegitimacy of colonialism. It is confirmed by United Nations resolution (Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and People). These are business decisions based on considerations of profits and regulations. The issue of the wall likely has political as well as economic implications. In many organizations, documents such as the mission statement stand alone and are reviewed annually, put on company letter head, passed out on business cards and so forth. This optimal position is the one most likely to protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. • 22. A Study On Bacterial Transformation Bacterial Transformation Fiona Obas 5155246 U42 Abstract DNA encodes the genetic instructions for cells to carry out their daily activities. DNA can come in many forms; plasmids for example are small circular DNA molecules found in most bacterial cells. Though plasmids may not be essential for the life of bacteria, it can give cells resistance in foreign environments. For the purpose of this experiment, an ampicillin resistant plasmid is introduced to E. coli. This is done through a process of genetic engineering called transformation. Transformation works through the uptake, incorporation, and expression of a foreign gene to alter the genetic code of a cell. Three conditions are needed for successful transformation: a host, a vector, and a technique to identify the transformed cells. E. coli is used in this experiment as the host (E. coli is commonly used in biotechnology due to its rapid rate of growth and short reproduction time). A vector mediates the transfer of foreign DNA into the host cell. Plasmids are commonly used vectors that will also be used in this experiment. The procedure of tagging is used in this experiment to differentiate the transformed cells from those that were not. The learning objectives of this experiment are to: observe the process of bacterial transformation in an experiment; and demonstrate a change in phenotype due to uptake and expression of the genes in a known plasmid. Prokaryotic cells are smaller and simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008) Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do not contain these. Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus. The nucleus is the largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear envelope) containing lots of pores. The nuclear membrane protects contents of the nucleus and controls the transport of substances in and out. The nucleus contains linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage. Chromatin is formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a structure called the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the cytoplasm in the cell through the nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into RNA. Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the DNA, these cells contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the DNA float freely inside the cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary to keep the cell alive. For example including genes that make the bacteria cell resistant to antibiotics. Both cells transcribe DNA into RNA in order to translate RNA and produce proteins on ribosomes. Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in eukaryotic cells. There are two types of ER: Smooth and rough. The article gives 10 reasons why same sex marriage is wrong: it is not marriage, it violates natural law, it always denies a child either a father or a mother, it validates and promotes the homosexual lifestyle, it turns moral wrong into a civil rights, it does not create a family but a naturally sterile union, it defeats the state s purpose of benefiting marriage, it imposes its acceptance on all society, it s the cutting edge of the sexual revolution, and it offends God. These reasons may sound rational on the surface, but I am going to point out flaws I see in these arguments. In the first argument, TFP Student Action makes the claim that marriage has always been a covenant between one man and one woman, which is far from true. According to The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry, In many cultures, both ancient and modern, polygamy has been quite common, which describes the relationship of one husband with multiple wives (CLGS). Contemporary Spanish philosopher Xavier Zubiri (1893 1983) has examined both and identified three underlying errors: (1) the failure to recognize that there are three stages of human intellection, and especially that the first, primordial apprehension, has quite unique characteristics; (2) the attempt to place an excessive burden on the content of impressions while ignoring what Zubiri terms their formality of reality ; and (3) the failure to recognize that functionality, not causality, is the basis for most of our knowledge. (1) For the present study, details of Hume s argument are not as important as his basic assumptions. One of those assumptions, never explicitly stated but always lurking just beneath the surface, is that all reasoning and understanding of the external world comes from the mind working on the content of sensible impressions, be they pains, pleasures, colors, or sounds. The burden of inferring the existence of things outside of the mind then must fall upon the mind and those processes available to it, because what the senses deliver is inadequate to the task: That our senses offer not their impressions as the images of something distinct, or independent, and external, is evident; because they convey to us ...
