● On August 3, 1492, he set off on his journey from
Spain with 100 men in three ships.
● Landed in the American continent on October 12,
1492.
● He named the Indigenous People “Indians” because he
thought he landed in the “Indies” in Asia.
● Completed four voyages and was the first to discover
the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Central America, and
the Northern Coast of South America.
