Development Of Developing And Managing Offerings
Developing and managing offerings constitute one of the highest risk any organization can make.
These are decisions that can led to bankruptcy if it fails nonetheless firms needs to continuously seek
for ways to meet those needs if they must stay in business. Sure, in your area you have seen some
businesses shut their doors after just a few periods of existence. Some firms like Adidas, Samsung and
Nike have more than one product while others have just one. What is certain in this relationship is that
the development process follow seven steps principles but may differ based on the business make up
and the organization. The first step of this process is idea development. Ide Generation. Conception
phase or ide generation one of the most important part of the job description of members of the
management team of a company. If they stop having vison the organization will die a natural dead. In
this stage a manuscript of propose products from product designers, customers, suppliers and even
employees is handed out to decision makers. This manuscript should have all the details about just
everything including the revenue generating prowess of the different products, which after looking and
financial capacity of the company to invest in the new ideas and the advantages this new venture to
the company are scrutinize and narrow down to a short list of one or more products. Not that some of
the ideas here though unethical can be from industrial espionage. When the management finishes

The Acts Of Paul And Thecla Summary
The Acts of Paul and Thecla, a second century Christian document, relates the story of how St.
Thecla became a Christian and even an apostle.
As a young woman from the elite class, she is engaged to be married to a wealthy upper class
gentleman. But then Paul comes to town and preaches his gospel of sexual renunciation.
According to Paul in this early Christian document, the only appropriate response to the costly love of
Jesus is the complete renuncia¬tion of sexual activity.
He gave his life, you give up this portion of yours.
Resurrection is promised only to those who avoid sex entirely.
Thecla is captivated by Paul s message of salva¬tion by asceticism along with many other women,
both old and young, and even many young men.
She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why, given the choice, would anyone repudiate sex completely and freely choose instead a life of no
sexual contact? How could that gospel convert so many?
It is rather puzzling to think that not only was the call to asceticism compelling for the characters in
the story, but that sexual renunciation was a powerful attraction of Christianity for many people even
young adults in the ancient world.
Most people don t know that most early Christianity was strongly ascetic: renouncing sexuality.
We can trace part of the reason to an attempt to set the Christian community apart from the pagan
sexual practices of the Roman empire.
Marcus Tullius Cicero linked the decline of the empire to its voracious sexual debauchery. He spoke
of chastity as a sign of fidelity to the strength of Rome.
But the other part requires a bit more explanation.
Along with advocating other forms of asceticism, such as fasting and prayer, the early tradition of the
church taught that sexual relations should be avoided if possible and indulged in only for the purposes
of procreation, if indulged at all.
In the ancient world sexual intercourse was a central factor in the cycle of

Summary Of Heroism In Updike
A: Author s and Speaker s Purpose:
Updike is degrading, de romanticizing heroism, the actions of Sammy when he quit his job by setting
the story during the 1960 s which is when people started abandoning the conservative approach to life
and started expressing themselves more openly. An example of open expression is when Sammy quit
his job or how the three girls walked into the A P in nothing but bathing suits.
Queenie and her entourage are being heroes by breaking the social norms regarding women at the time
which makes them heroines in the eyes of many females. They break the social norm by going into an
A P dressed only in bathing suits and by the way they behaved.
He intends to show the differences in the lifestyles of each member of the triangular conflict and how
each lifestyle conflicts with each other forcing Sammy to choose between to live his life like Lengel or
Queenie. Lengel being a conservative ancient man or Queenie being an open minded young person.
Updike satirizes American society s fondness for heroism by having one of their own. Lengel, shot
down a female heroine, Queenie, for standing against the common stereotype of women having to be
extremely conservative.
B: Drawing Inferences:
One would assume that under normal circumstances Sammy and Lengel would be acquaintances since
Lengel is a friend of the family, not Sammy. However, since Sammy is a teen he must likely despise
the idea of growing up to be like Lengel which leads me to believe that he

Std Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
The Basics
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also called sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are diseases
and infections that are passed from person to person through sexual contact. HIV is an STD. There are
more than 25 other STDs that are mainly spread by sexual contact such as vaginal, anal, and oral sex.
The US has the highest rate of STDs in the developed world. In the US, about 19 million new
infections occur each year. Teenage girls and young women need to be particularly aware of STDs. A
recent study estimates that 1 in 4 teenage girls (aged 14 19) have an STD. African Americans girls and
young women have some of the highest rates of STDs, especially for chlamydia and gonorrhea. In ...

Other types cause infections in the genital area that can lead to genital warts, cervical cancer, or cancer
of the vulva, vagina, anus, and penis. Genital HPV is spread easily through skin to skin contact during
vaginal or anal sex. Condoms do not totally prevent transmission. HIV+ people are more likely to be
infected with HPV than HIV negative people. HIV+ people with HPV are also more likely to develop
genital warts, as well as cervical or anal cancer. It is important to detect HPV early and get treatment
to prevent health problems. Regular Pap tests are a good way to detect HPV. There are also two HPV
vaccines. Young people should get vaccinated before their first sexual contact (before they have been
exposed to HPV). People who are already infected with HPV are not protected by the vaccines. For
more information, see TWP info sheet on HPV.
Gonorrhea
This bacterial STD can be spread through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Symptoms may include a
yellowish or greenish vaginal discharge and a burning feeling when urinating. Gonorrhea can also
affect the anus and the throat. Many women have no symptoms. Gonorrhea can be treated with
antibiotics. If left untreated, it can cause PID and infertility. All sexually active women should be
screened for gonorrhea.
Hepatitis
Hepatitis is an inflammation (irritation) of the liver. Some types of hepatitis are caused by viruses and
can be sexually transmitted, including hepatitis A (HAV),

Prediction Of Home Prices Of A Metropolitan Area
Prediction of home prices. Using the above regression equation, one can determine the expected home
prices of a metropolitan area based on the median income of that area. For a metropolitan area with
income at 100,000, putting the value into the regression equation, one gets 2016 Median Price to be
269.7 + 0.008357 * 100,000 = 269.7 + 835.7 = 566. The expected median home price = $566,000.
Residual plots. Using Minitab, the histogram and the normal probability plot of the residuals are
shown in chart 2. The histogram shows the majority of the residuals are in the middle and centered on
the mean of zero, while the tails have a lower number of residuals, while in the normal probability
plot, the majority of the dots are close to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It appears that in earlier years 2011 and 2006, household income account for a larger portion of the
changes in home prices (around 64%) compared to the recent years from 2014 to 2016 (around 55%).
Does the relationship between income and home prices differ among metropolitan areas of different
sizes? Using the dotplot in chart 3, one can categorize the metropolitan areas base on the number of
households, into small (households less than 150,000), large (households = 350,000) and medium
(those in between). The sample numbers of small, medium, and large are 63, 57, and 54 respectively.

Truth And Grotesque In Sherwood Anderson s Winesburg, Ohio
In the book Winesburg,Ohio by Sherwood Anderson, the concepts of truth and grotesque are defined
in many different ways. These ideas are used in another book, The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
because both share the similarities .Through the same lens of Winesburg,Ohio the truth and Grotesque
of Gregor Samsa can be seen. In The Book of Grotesque . The narrator explains about truth in people .
In paragraph 14 it states that the truths are when people took one of the truths to himself called it truth

Disney On Broadway Research Paper
Disney has taken the world by storm from movies to games to television and now even theatre. Disney
is no stranger to the silver screen or to your home television screens, but it has now made its mark on
Broadway stages around the globe. Since the early 1990 s, dozens of Disney films have been adapted
into Broadway classics. When one show stops, another one begins. Storming into its 24th year, Disney
on Broadway is one of the most successful theatre enterprises in the world reaching millions of
audience members in more than 40 countries (Tallarico). Before Disney revamped the theatrical
world, 42nd Street and the surrounding Times Square area was in total disarray. The 1980 s Time
Square was a place for drug dealers, hustlers, and prostitutes to seek haven in. It was not until Mayor
Rudy Giuliani invited major family friendly companies such as Disney to come in and revitalize the
town that 42nd Street became a safer place. Disney changed the Broadway style of ... Show more

audience and advance industry standards (Pressley). One of the biggest advantages of Disney on
Broadway is a guaranteed audience that is familiar with the storyline and music, as well as a large
company that is able to handle any negative reviews (Kearney). One reason for the increase in ticket
sales for Disney in the past twenty years is due to the safer environment after the redesign of 42nd
Street (Horn). Because of this, more children and senior citizens come to enjoy the shows. Tourists
make up the biggest percentage of those who purchase Broadway tickets. Therefore, commercial
theatre relies heavily on recognizable names to coax audience members into the theatres (How
Disney). Disney is one of the top grossing companies in the world, making it incredibly easy to

The New Deal Research Paper
What s the Deal?
The election of Franklin D. Roosevelt was considered a beacon of hope among the American people
following years of relentless economic hardship. Roosevelt s immense, decisive victory over Herbert
Hoover signified America wanted something different. Fortunately, Roosevelt did not disappoint. In
his first two years of office, Roosevelt devised a plan to shift America s financial crisis into a positive
direction; fundamentally, setting a new standard for government intervention in the economy. In
particular, one of Roosevelt s most significant economic plans would come to be known as the New
Deal. The New Deal established a series of federal programs that sought to relieve the calamities

Therefore, the CCC was widely successful at stimulating both economic and environmental growth.
By 1942, the CCC had already planted nearly two to three billion trees and worked to establish nearly
800 state parks. In addition, nearly twelve to fifteen million people directly benefited from CCC
enrollee checks, and 3,463,766 men had been enrolled in the CCC program by the beginning of World
War II (CCC History). All in all, the program had extreme support from the public. By 1934, the
Corps had nearly universal approval and praise of the country ( Civilian Conservation Corps Legacy ).
Mandatory monthly $25 allotment checks to families greatly boosted the American economy (
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) ). The strongest opposition regarding the CCC program came
from state officials. With the CCC enrollees earning $30 a month, some complained that the $25
allotment was far too high. If states were to lower the allotment, the relief costs per state would greatly
increase ( Civilian Conservation Corps Legacy ). The number of individuals who complained about
their living costs and monthly allotments were far too low to actually cause any sort of turmoil. And,

The ability to do anything effectively is through knowledge of the different tools to do the task, and
which tool would be most effective. Persuading an audience with an advertisement is no different. The
goal of an advertisement is for viewers to purchase a product or learn about a subject. An
advertisement is considered effective when the targeted audience is persuaded to take the action that
the advertisement is suggesting. An advertisement by the Sandy Hook Promise, Evan, focuses on a

The study surveyed participants attitudes towards organizations after watching advertisements by
organizations. The advertisements varied in levels of guilt evoked. The purpose of the study was to see
how appealing to guilt would influence the effectiveness of the advertisement. What the researchers
found was guilt appeals can have positive effects on behavioral intentions, notably donating behavior
(2007, p. 729). This suggests that when someone feels guilty, they want to get rid of the guilt and
believe that they can do so through their own actions and help society. Even though the study is
focused on donations, the concept regarding an advertisement s effectiveness is the same. Donating
money is a simple action, since it is sometimes a one time thing people do, and does impose a burden
of time to the donator. Visiting a website is no different because it too is an action that is only taken
once, and is not extremely time consuming. The study also discovered that children s charities are of
high personal importance to the majority of people (Hibbert et al., 2007). This is related to the Sandy
Hook Promise advertisement because when people see the source of the advertisement, Sandy Hook
Promise, they see the organization as one that affects the

Historical Development Of Financial Accounting Theory
To understand the fair value accounting concept, an understanding of the foundation of accounting is
where it is today is needed. This information provides a guideline of how the first conceptual ideas of
accounting first began and changed overtime to accommodate the ever increasing changes with

Accounting Concepts (SFAC) No. 8 indicates that the primary purpose of financial reporting is to
provide financial information about the reporting entity that is useful to present and potential equity

Following this event the Securities and Exchange commission was created to administer various

Essay on Use of Humor in Erdrich s Tracks
Use of Humor in Erdrich s Tracks
An old adage claims that laughter is the best medicine to cure human ailments. Although this
treatment might sound somewhat unorthodox, its value as a remedy can be traced back to ancient
times when Hypocrites, in his medical treatise, stressed the importance of a gay and cheerful mood on
the part of the physician and patient fighting disease (Bakhtin 67). Aristotle viewed laughter as man s
quintessential privilege: Of all living creatures only man is endowed with laughter (Bakhtin 68). In the

itself in extended kin and clan, and ends up defining a culture (Lincoln 63). In Tracks, the power of
Native American humor to profoundly affect human experience is portrayed through the characters of
Nanapush and Fleur.
In his role as Nanabush the trickster, a central figure in Chippewa (Ojibwa) storytelling, Nanapush
demonstrates the power of Native American humor in his own life, when he challenges the gods and
cheats death by playing a trick on them: During the year of the sickness, when I was the last one left, I
saved myself by starting a story . . . . I got well by talking. Death could not get a word in edgewise,
grew discouraged, and traveled on (Erdrich 46). The trickster figure is characterized as a man of many
guises, dualistic in nature good and bad and often considered quite a lover. He is a survivor, physically
and psychologically. As one who endures, he transcends the temporal and functions as an affirmation
of the self. The trickster is also central to the tribe s worldview, with power that extends beyond
himself, guiding his people toward a view of themselves and of possibility that they might not have
seen otherwise (Ghezzi 444). To fulfill his role as trickster, Nanapush uses humor as powerful
medicine not only for himself, but also for his tribe.

Environmental Impact On Habitat Fragmentation
Habitat fragmentation is happening all around the world, even in developed countries such as the USA
and UK, and is having a detrimental impact on species biodiversity (Hanski, 2015). Habitat
fragmentation is a process by which a landscape is transformed into an unsuitable habitat for the
present species. When a habitat becomes fragmentated this results in the habitats to develop into
smaller patches and can even create patches of isolation, completely different to its original state
(Fahrig, 2003). Fragmentation can occur naturally, through processes such as wildfires and windfall
however, with the constant increase in human population (7 billion in 2017), habitat fragmentation is
becoming more frequent and destructive due to the rise in human land use (Oikos, 1994).
Healthy biodiversity cannot be maintained with habitat fragmentation being present, as this will
decrease habitat space, structure and connectivity causing a decline in biodiversity. To measure the
impacts habitat fragmentation is having on species, there have been certain methods which have been
conducted to understand its full impact (Oikos, 1994). Some methods include comparing species
richness in artificial habitat fragmentation patches to species richness in normal conditions, or the
common one being used is to test the relationship between density and patch size. When assessing
habitat fragmentation, species richness is the point of call, as this is believed to not only show the
number of species,

Antonio Vivaldi Research Paper
Antonio Vivaldi
Antonio Vivaldi was born in Venice on March 4th of 1678. He is known primarily as an Italian
composer and rightfully so since he composed in all the major genres of the era such as opera,
concerto, and in addition educational pieces (Antonio Vivaldi , n.d.). His most popular concertos are
the four that make up The Four Seasons which were part of an even larger publication. Not only was
Vivaldi a composer, but he was also teacher and performer as well. Vivaldi lived an extremely active
life right up until his death on July 28 in 1741 (Grove Music Online Vivaldi, Antonio, n.d.).

Guideline For The Treatment Of Early And Established RA
Treatment of Early and Established RA How treatment for early and established RA differs based on
current and evidence based practice? According to the 2015 Guideline for the treatment of RA
developed by the ACR, the approach to treat early and established RA is different. The treatment
recommendations by the ACR for early and established RA are as follows: Early RA: The early RA is
defined as RA with duration of disease/symptoms of 6 months (Singh et al., 2016, p.4) and duration
does not represent the time since RA diagnosis, but the length of time the patient has had symptoms.

combination therapy includes two/more nonbiologic DMARDs alone or methotrexate with biologic
DMARDs. The low dose glucocorticoids (10 mg/day of prednisone) for short term can be used during
combination therapy. If the single biologics or combination therapy fails, the steps shown in the

Native American Boarding Schools During the Westward Expansion
People know about the conflict between the Indian s cultures and the settler s cultures during the
westward expansion. Many people know the fierce battles and melees between the Indians and the
settlers that were born from this cultural conflict. In spite of this, many people may not know about
the systematic and deliberate means employed by the U.S. government to permanently rid their new
land of the Indians who had lived their own lives peacefully for many years. There are many strong
and chilling reasons and causes as to why the settlers started all of this perplexity in the first place.
There was also a very strong and threatening impact on the Native Americans ... Show more content

These native peoples, first mislabeled as Indians by an explorer named Christopher Columbus, divided
themselves into many different tribes, each with its own government, language, traditions and
religions. Europeans, who slowly poured into the Indian s land, did not respect the Indians beliefs,
interrupted their peaceful life and would do almost anything to get the land to them selves. The settlers
also believed the land that both the Indians and the settlers lived on was theirs to themselves. They
began to push the Native Americans off of their own land. Many of them fought back to keep their
homes, some succeeded, some didn t.
By the 1800 s most of the Native Americans signed a treaty with the European American government.
The results left the Native Americans on small pieces of land called reservations in exchange for their
land and peace. The European Americans promised that they would give the Indians living on the
reservations food, water, money and education for the children. Most of these promises were not kept.
White man s schooling of the Native Americans helped cause the disintegration of the beliefs, customs
and ways of life of the natives residents of Turtle Island . One of the sources that helped their culture
vanish, not completely, were the Native American boarding schools. The boarding schools put the

Interpersonal Communication In Pablo Narcos
Narcos tells the true life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and
attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around
the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. Pablo shows an interesting character
throughout the episodes through various ways of showing people who he wants to be viewed as. He
never wanted to be viewed as just another drug trafficker, but he wanted to be the best of all time. His
goal was to leave an impression for the people of Columbia so that if he did die, his name would be
mentioned in the future. He never acted the same way with anyone who had the opportunity to do
business with him. He would either be very genuine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the actions, Pablo portrays during episodes proves that identity and the way we manage
ourselves under certain circumstances has great influence in the way we present ourselves to the
individuals we encounter in our daily lives.
Throughout the episode, Pablo has shown to be very loyal, protective and generous to his immediate
family. On the other hand, the behavior with strangers is the complete opposite as he acquires the
position of authority. The family is defined as a group of people who genuinely love, care, and look
out for each other. It is said to be a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. Families have
individual beliefs and values in which they carry throughout their life. As per the research I have
obtained, I can summarize that values are concepts of what s good or bad, whereas beliefs are things
you believe to be true or false in life. Although in the show Narcos, Pablo may have his criminal
thoughts targeted towards strangers, the family is a different story. Things such as his beliefs and
values regarding family, keep him from acting as a criminal when near them. Based on research, it
was noted that the family is the most important social unit in Columbia. Even if the main breadwinner
lives and works far from home, the family takes priority . Based off this, its shown that Pablo abuses

Conditions Associated Thermal Regimes Impact On Roads
There are three possible conditions associated thermal regimes impact on roads; they are (a)sustained
winter thermal regime during winter months;(b) fluctuating thermal regimes during autumn and
spring, and (c)sustained thermal regime starting off in spring. The potential impacts of this on flexible
type pavement are as follows;
a. Under maintained below zero temperatures amid winter, and relying upon the predominating
moisture content in the pavement structure and the way of the pavement materials. For instance, frost
susceptible soils, for example, residues and clayey sediments, the sub grade or the pavement layer
may freeze increment in volume and subject the pavement to swelling weights, which inevitably
prompt frost heave. Pavements ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fluctuating thermal administration, particularly when de icing salts are applied on the surface,
may prompt scaling at the surface of pavements. By improving the concrete composition for example,
by utilizing air entering agent, higher cement content, lower water cement ratios the effect of de icing
salt can be diminished.
A noteworthy and supported decline in the recurrence of extremely cool days could lessen the danger
of pavement harm brought about by frost heave, freeze thaw cycling and defrosting and could
therefore decrease maintenance costs. Then again, it is not that simple. As winter gets hotter
pavements get more presented to freezing and thawing cycle, prompting premature decay of pavement
particularly to the upper layer of asphalt like cracking and ravelling.
Hence, in areas where roads are usually frozen in winter, a decrease in the number of very cold days
may impact the following;
Potentially, a higher frequency of freeze thaw cycles, causing durability and fatigue problems, and
greater incidence of black ice.
Increased demand for de icing chemicals on account of the higher frequency of freeze thaw cycle,
including potential damage from the adverse effect of repeated application.
Wet surface condition occurring more frequently, allowing more water to ingress the pavement
through cracks with consequential effects.
Reduced bearing capacity as a result of moisture ingress and/or thawing of an otherwise frozen
pavement.
Although a reduced

To critically appraise different types of research a group of questions called users guide have

Traditional Vs. Online Learning
Among schools with 12th grade students during the 2010 11 school year, the average percentage of
12th grade students who graduated with a high school diploma was 89 percent for traditional public
schools, 91 percent for public charter schools, and 92 percent for private schools (Institute of
Educational Sciences). Traditional on campus classes are those in which a student earns a diploma or a
degree in a classroom environment taught by a professor. Students are provided with high amounts of
social interaction with students and faculty to prepare them for careers outside of the classroom. From
the time children are enrolled in kindergarten up to graduation, the familiarity of a classroom
atmosphere sets up structural support to help them through their studies as well as provide students a
sense of societal discipline. Traditional on campus classes are more beneficial to a student s education
than online courses.
Traditional classes provide unmatched face to face interaction with professors and classmates. In her

behavioral characteristics are found in the childhood histories of individuals with sociopathic

To me there isn t enough data to back the theories validity. The studies described in the text consist of
research counts of 84, 102, 1200; that is not enough research or statistical data collection to convince
me that these behaviors are direct links to the behaviors shown in serial killers. The simple downfall
of this theory is the lack of research and study groups. I believe that the strength of this theory is its
potential. With more money, research, studies, and attention I believe this theory s reputation could
improve. The Macdonald Triad does a good job of describing the emotional behind the act of the act.
The connection between nature/nurture and a child s emotional development process is extremely
important and often times are direct indicators of how they will act or react as an adult. Now I agree

Textbook Adoption in California, 1879-2014
Textbook Adoption in California, 1879 2014 Suppose you are a textbook publisher with a mandate to
reduce the weight of the books you put out. Research has shown that your books break backs, and the
legislature has spoken: your books will not be adopted (and you will, therefore, lose much of your
business) unless you clear strict weight limits. The weight of a book is proportional to its length, so
your first thought is to cut some of the content. Will students really read or even reference 1,000 pages
of World History, anyway? But as you start scanning for superfluous sections, you come to a startling
realization: every paragraph of the monstrous text serves a role. Not an educational or curricular role,
necessarily, but certainly a practical one. Each section is aligned with some state standard, meaning
that it purports to teach some element of state mandated curriculum. Perhaps it is the only passage that
mentions unsustainable mineral resource consumption to comply with California s Standard MS ESS3
4 for eighth grade science, or maybe it provides a particularly clear example of making an argument
from evidence that will be helpful in convincing state officials that the book adheres to their
curriculum. Cutting these standards aligned passages, even if they are not actually contributing to the
cohesion of the text, could easily get you knocked off the list of instructional materials approved for
state purchase. Maybe you could remove some pictures? Nope: pictures,

It could be said that marble quarrying and processing industries belong to the oldest industries of the
world. The Ancient Egyptians, 5000 years ago, knew 40 different types of ornamental stones and
worked chiefly with granite and some types of marble such as Alabaster. Some historians assert that
the Greek and the Romans acquired the skills of quarrying and processing marble from the Ancient
Egyptians. For over a thousand years now, the economic activity of a city like Carara in Italy has been
relying on and revolving mainly around marble. Today, marble is a differentiated product that is
internationally traded. The price and value of marble depends on one hand on its natural
characteristics (like quality, type and color) and on the other hand on technological processing (giving
it a special shape, polish, size and thickness). Hence, the production of marble can be considered as
highly differentiated, and strongly dependent on level of technology use.( Azza I. Kandil and Tarek H.

Ikea Faced While Distributing Their Global Catalogs During...
INTRODUCTION
This case study focuses on a controversy Ikea faced while distributing their global catalogs during the
Fall of 2012. Every year, the company issues 60 different versions of the catalogs worldwide based on
local cultures, tastes, trends, etc of each region. One version of the catalog intended for Saudi Arabia
featured many pictures featured in other catalogs, but with the women erased from the photos. In each
photo, Ikea either completely removed the woman from the picture, or replaced her with an object.
Consequently, the catalog caused much controversy from customers claiming that Ikea was not
following their company s values by not featuring women in the catalog. The key issue that arose from
the ordeal was how would they rebuild their reputation with customers, and how could they take steps
to prevent a similar situation occurring in the future?
In this case study, I will first establish and outline the problem featured, then introduce solutions to the
problem and how to implement them, and end with a brief conclusion.
PROBLEMS AND GOALS
In result to the catalog, Ikea was faced with a major problem. How would they regain the trust of their
customers who expect them to uphold their company s integrity? To address this problem, Ikea should
create a set of goals in order to amend their brand image and reputation. There are four main goals I
suggest the company focus on to do this. They are:

The Pros And Cons Of Informed Consent
Informed consent is a critical process that places professionalism and legalism into practice in the
healthcare setting. It is an approval by the patient to receive care or treatment, while having full
knowledge of the benefits or risks that may accompany it, and is generally accompanied by the patient
s signature if consent is given (Black Chitty, 2014). Often times, informed consent is assumed to be
the physical document the patient signs, however, it is actually the legal practice that provides an
opportunity for the patient to gain a complete understanding of the procedure before deciding to
consent to it or not (Black Chitty, 2014). There are three main requirements of informed consent,
which include: it must be given voluntarily, it must be given to a person who has the capability to
understand, and it has to include adequate information necessary for the patient to formulate a
decision (Black Chitty, 2014). Informed consent involves a direct communication process between the
physician and the patient regarding specific details of treatment. According to Black and Chitty
(2014), it should include information regarding benefits, risks, potential side effects, costs, and
alternative treatments. In order to be considered legally acceptable, informed consent must be
complete, competent, and voluntary; each of these conditions must be evaluated for legal purposes
(Black Chitty, 2014). Along with the inclusion of specific criteria, informed consent must be

  • 4. The Acts Of Paul And Thecla Summary The Acts of Paul and Thecla, a second century Christian document, relates the story of how St. Thecla became a Christian and even an apostle. As a young woman from the elite class, she is engaged to be married to a wealthy upper class gentleman. But then Paul comes to town and preaches his gospel of sexual renunciation. According to Paul in this early Christian document, the only appropriate response to the costly love of Jesus is the complete renuncia¬tion of sexual activity. He gave his life, you give up this portion of yours. Resurrection is promised only to those who avoid sex entirely. Thecla is captivated by Paul s message of salva¬tion by asceticism along with many other women, both old and young, and even many young men. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why, given the choice, would anyone repudiate sex completely and freely choose instead a life of no sexual contact? How could that gospel convert so many? It is rather puzzling to think that not only was the call to asceticism compelling for the characters in the story, but that sexual renunciation was a powerful attraction of Christianity for many people even young adults in the ancient world. Most people don t know that most early Christianity was strongly ascetic: renouncing sexuality. We can trace part of the reason to an attempt to set the Christian community apart from the pagan sexual practices of the Roman empire. • 5. Summary Of Heroism In Updike A: Author s and Speaker s Purpose: Updike is degrading, de romanticizing heroism, the actions of Sammy when he quit his job by setting the story during the 1960 s which is when people started abandoning the conservative approach to life and started expressing themselves more openly. An example of open expression is when Sammy quit his job or how the three girls walked into the A P in nothing but bathing suits. Queenie and her entourage are being heroes by breaking the social norms regarding women at the time which makes them heroines in the eyes of many females. They break the social norm by going into an A P dressed only in bathing suits and by the way they behaved. Std Sexually Transmitted Diseases Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) The Basics Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also called sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are diseases and infections that are passed from person to person through sexual contact. HIV is an STD. There are more than 25 other STDs that are mainly spread by sexual contact such as vaginal, anal, and oral sex. The US has the highest rate of STDs in the developed world. In the US, about 19 million new infections occur each year. Teenage girls and young women need to be particularly aware of STDs. Genital HPV is spread easily through skin to skin contact during vaginal or anal sex. Condoms do not totally prevent transmission. HIV+ people are more likely to be infected with HPV than HIV negative people. HIV+ people with HPV are also more likely to develop genital warts, as well as cervical or anal cancer. It is important to detect HPV early and get treatment to prevent health problems. Regular Pap tests are a good way to detect HPV. There are also two HPV vaccines. Young people should get vaccinated before their first sexual contact (before they have been exposed to HPV). People who are already infected with HPV are not protected by the vaccines. • 17. Environmental Impact On Habitat Fragmentation Habitat fragmentation is happening all around the world, even in developed countries such as the USA and UK, and is having a detrimental impact on species biodiversity (Hanski, 2015). Habitat fragmentation is a process by which a landscape is transformed into an unsuitable habitat for the present species. When a habitat becomes fragmentated this results in the habitats to develop into smaller patches and can even create patches of isolation, completely different to its original state (Fahrig, 2003). Fragmentation can occur naturally, through processes such as wildfires and windfall however, with the constant increase in human population (7 billion in 2017), habitat fragmentation is becoming more frequent and destructive due to the rise in human land use (Oikos, 1994). Healthy biodiversity cannot be maintained with habitat fragmentation being present, as this will decrease habitat space, structure and connectivity causing a decline in biodiversity. To measure the impacts habitat fragmentation is having on species, there have been certain methods which have been conducted to understand its full impact (Oikos, 1994). Some methods include comparing species richness in artificial habitat fragmentation patches to species richness in normal conditions, or the common one being used is to test the relationship between density and patch size. By improving the concrete composition for example, by utilizing air entering agent, higher cement content, lower water cement ratios the effect of de icing salt can be diminished. A noteworthy and supported decline in the recurrence of extremely cool days could lessen the danger of pavement harm brought about by frost heave, freeze thaw cycling and defrosting and could therefore decrease maintenance costs. Traditional on campus classes are those in which a student earns a diploma or a degree in a classroom environment taught by a professor. Students are provided with high amounts of social interaction with students and faculty to prepare them for careers outside of the classroom. From the time children are enrolled in kindergarten up to graduation, the familiarity of a classroom atmosphere sets up structural support to help them through their studies as well as provide students a sense of societal discipline. Traditional on campus classes are more beneficial to a student s education than online courses. Traditional classes provide unmatched face to face interaction with professors and classmates. In her article, Traditional vs online learning: which is right for you , Janelle Pagnucco, a communications engineer at ECO Canada explains, A classroom environment allows for instant expression of opinions and thoughts through face to face interaction with classmates and the instructor. To me there isn t enough data to back the theories validity. The studies described in the text consist of research counts of 84, 102, 1200; that is not enough research or statistical data collection to convince me that these behaviors are direct links to the behaviors shown in serial killers. The simple downfall of this theory is the lack of research and study groups. I believe that the strength of this theory is its potential. With more money, research, studies, and attention I believe this theory s reputation could improve. The Macdonald Triad does a good job of describing the emotional behind the act of the act. The connection between nature/nurture and a child s emotional development process is extremely important and often times are direct indicators of how they will act or react as an adult. Research has shown that your books break backs, and the legislature has spoken: your books will not be adopted (and you will, therefore, lose much of your business) unless you clear strict weight limits. The weight of a book is proportional to its length, so your first thought is to cut some of the content. Will students really read or even reference 1,000 pages of World History, anyway? But as you start scanning for superfluous sections, you come to a startling realization: every paragraph of the monstrous text serves a role. Not an educational or curricular role, necessarily, but certainly a practical one. Each section is aligned with some state standard, meaning that it purports to teach some element of state mandated curriculum. Perhaps it is the only passage that mentions unsustainable mineral resource consumption to comply with California s Standard MS ESS3 4 for eighth grade science, or maybe it provides a particularly clear example of making an argument from evidence that will be helpful in convincing state officials that the book adheres to their curriculum. Cutting these standards aligned passages, even if they are not actually contributing to the cohesion of the text, could easily get you knocked off the list of instructional materials approved for state purchase. Every year, the company issues 60 different versions of the catalogs worldwide based on local cultures, tastes, trends, etc of each region. One version of the catalog intended for Saudi Arabia featured many pictures featured in other catalogs, but with the women erased from the photos. In each photo, Ikea either completely removed the woman from the picture, or replaced her with an object. Consequently, the catalog caused much controversy from customers claiming that Ikea was not following their company s values by not featuring women in the catalog. The key issue that arose from the ordeal was how would they rebuild their reputation with customers, and how could they take steps to prevent a similar situation occurring in the future? In this case study, I will first establish and outline the problem featured, then introduce solutions to the problem and how to implement them, and end with a brief conclusion. It is an approval by the patient to receive care or treatment, while having full knowledge of the benefits or risks that may accompany it, and is generally accompanied by the patient s signature if consent is given (Black Chitty, 2014). Often times, informed consent is assumed to be the physical document the patient signs, however, it is actually the legal practice that provides an opportunity for the patient to gain a complete understanding of the procedure before deciding to consent to it or not (Black Chitty, 2014). There are three main requirements of informed consent, which include: it must be given voluntarily, it must be given to a person who has the capability to understand, and it has to include adequate information necessary for the patient to formulate a decision (Black Chitty, 2014). Informed consent involves a direct communication process between the physician and the patient regarding specific details of treatment. According to Black and Chitty (2014), it should include information regarding benefits, risks, potential side effects, costs, and alternative treatments. In order to be considered legally acceptable, informed consent must be complete, competent, and voluntary; each of these conditions must be evaluated for legal purposes (Black Chitty, 2014).
