Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis Essay
Did humankind prevent the start of an ice age during the Holocene? Discuss arguments for and against
the Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis.
The Holocene Epoch is the timescale given to the last 11,700 years of earth s history, beginning at the
end of the last ice age. (BD Smith et al, 2013) Therefore it can be noted as being a relatively warm
period in history in comparison to other scales of time from the past. The Early Anthropogenic
Hypothesis is an idea put forward by Professor William F Ruddiman from the University of Virginia
which states that the effects of human induced greenhouse gas emissions did not occur simply since
the industrial era, but may well have been kick started many thousands of years before this, closer to
the start of the Holocene. By which may have prevented the start of an ice age during this timescale.
However there are many views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This coincides with Ruddiman s belief of CO2 levels increasing due to human activity. There is a clear
pattern between the rise in industrial activity and the rise in CO2 levels. Since the industrial revolution
(1750 1900) there was a rapid rise in levels of CO2 being created and emitted into the atmosphere. As
a consequence, this saw a rise in the CO2 levels from 270ppm to roughly 310ppm by the 1950 s,
which increased again in the following 30 years by 70ppm, after the initiation of the Great
Acceleration of industry (W Steffen et al, 2007). Non coincidentally the Little Ice Age which occurred
during the Holocene ended at around 1800, shortly after the beginning of the Industrial revolution.
(Richard Prentice) This shows a clear correlation between the increase of CO2 levels and human
activity. Although this is most certainly in more recent times, it still provides clear evidence to suggest
that Ruddiman was correct in his belief that human activity causes CO2 rise and therefore has the
potential to prevent the start of an ice

The Service Sector Management Class
Interactive, collaborative conversations with customers are essential for gaining critical information
and insight about customers situations and enable salespeople to offer unique, added value solutions
for customers needs. (SELL4, Cengage Learning, 82) Communication skills, to me, is the main topic
within the Service Sector Management class. The reason I believe this is because in order to build
trust, sale, understand the buyer, etc. you must be able to talk to the customers. Trust based sales
communication is when you must talk with the customer rather than at them. It is a collaborative and
two way form of communication that allows buyers and sellers to better understand the need of
situations and working together to create the best responses for resolving the customer s needs. Trust
based communication is the sharing of importance between buying and selling individuals that result
from the interactive process of exchanging information and ideas. With this emphasis on establishing
understanding, communication is essential throughout each stage of the selling process. Effective
communication skills are needed to classify buying needs and to demonstrate to buyers how a
salesperson s planned solution can satisfy those needs better than competitors. The critical capabilities
for effective selling include questioning, listening, giving information, nonverbal communication, and
written communication skills. Although each of these skills are needed in everyday life, they

My Experience At The Big City Of Jacksonville
When I first moved to the big city of Jacksonville, I was cultured shocked. Being born and raised in a
small town where everyone knew everyone, elderly people made up the majority of the population,
and being a liberal could get a brawl going, the new diversity astounded me. Growing up in my
southern town, I was not forced to have specific ideals, but the culture certainly affected them. My
town has made me who I am today and I question if being raised so conservative has held me back
and if the culture in my hometown needs to be more modernized. Not being adjusted to individuality,
the culture of the town, and the towns traditional views, are all experiences that have impacted me to
understanding where I came from has affected my social identity.
From a young age, I have always acknowledged that when I went to a tourist area, there was so much
individuality, that I could not fully grasp. When I would go to Walt Disney World, I would see for one
moment a couple of teens with rainbow colored hair and then I would turn my head to see an Amish
family. I always found it astonishing, because where I came from everyone was basically the same. Of
course, there was always a few that did break away from the norm that my county had, but they stuck
out like a sore thumb. These were the type of people that were either very rich or gothic in style. I don
t recall them being bullied, but they were noticed and sometimes gossiped about, because they were
not the same. As it goes, no one

Current And Projected Healthcare Applications Of 3d...
Introduction
Three dimensional (3D) printing, also known as rapid prototyping (RP) and additive manufacturing
(AM), is a transformational technology that is anticipated to revolutionize the healthcare industry.
Current and projected healthcare applications of 3D printing include: customized prosthetics;
personalized surgical implants; drug delivery, pre operative and educational anatomical models; and
tissue and organ engineering. The implications of 3D printing are expected to be considerable and
include benefits such as: improved efficiency and reduced costs; personalized medicine; and increased
collaboration . The implementation of this technology does not come without significant challenges,
however. The healthcare industry is one of the most regulated in the Unites States, hype can contribute
to idealized expectations, biocompatible materials must be identified, and intellectual property may be
difficult to protect as a result of 3D printing. This article reviews current advances in 3D printing and
the current and projected healthcare applications that will improve quality and decrease costs.
Healthcare in the United States
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, healthcare spending in the United State
grew 3.6 percent in 2013, totaling $2.9 trillion; and accounting for 17.4 percent of the nation s Gross

How to Conserve the Environment
Conservation of the environment are at the top of environmental group s mind nowadays. As much
attention as this subject gets from them, it gets just as much ignoring by the many people. Most of
them feel compelled to help or contribute, yet few seldom do carry out their intentions. This is a very
serious subject that needs to receive immediate and full attention from the government and the general
public. Only they can truly make a difference. Thus, ways to both parties involve in conserving the
environment keen to maintain our country wide diversity of flora and fauna. In developed countries

Reusable bags are convenient and come in a variety of sizes and styles. Some reusable bags can even
be rolled or folded small enough to fit into a purse or pocket. Lastly, many banks, utilities and other
businesses now offer their customers the option of paying bills online, eliminating the need to write
and mail paper checks or to keep paper records. By paying your bills online you can save time and
money, lower the administrative costs of companies with which you do business, and reduce global
warming by helping to prevent deforestation. Signing up for online bill paying is easy and doesn t take
much time. You can either choose to have certain bills paid automatically each month or elect to
review and pay each bill yourself. Either way, you will receive outstanding returns on your small
investment of time. In conclusion, if we continue at the present rate we are at now, we could lose our

rights to preserve the environment. It is vital for the future generation to see the nature, the true nature,

Analysis Of The Novel Things Fall Apart
Things Fall Apart novel tries to bring back up cultural, social as well as spiritual basics of traditional
Igbo (Ibo) existence from the year 1850 and 1900. The novel cannot be fixed like truthful societal and
political old times of Ibo society since it is a work of invented story. However, the novel describes
disagreements and apprehensions in Igbo society. It also depicts changes initiated by colonial ruling
and Christianity. The author mentions that European colonialism operates as a powerful as well as
well built mediator of the change within Ibo society. Additionally, Christianity attracted the trivial
associates of the Igbo society. Igbo and other societies were changed considerably due to this variety
of deal with Europeans. A few societies expanded in dimension and authority as marketable centers,
whereas others go through great losses in the course of slave invasion. Hostility also gets higher, and

In expressing the accomplishment of Catholic Missionaries Hatch, Roman Catholics appeared to be

Essay On Tchaikovsky s Piano Concerto No. 2 In C Minor
sister s house in Ukraine, he began work on Symphony No. 2 in C Minor, which he finished that year.
Three years later, in the Mariinsky Theatre, in St. Petersburg The Oprichnik was performed. At the
time, the opera was not well regarded by critics, and Tchaikovsky eventually agreed with them. His
next opera, Vakula the Smith, later recomposed as Cherevichki, was criticized in much the same way
as The Oprichnik. Tchaikovsky as a budding composer encountered hardship in finding a happy
medium between his creative drive/fervor and his capability to judge his works still in development.
Despite the bad press from his operas, his orchestral compositions started to gain him fame, and, at the
end of 1874, Tchaikovsky wrote his Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat Minor. At the ripe age of thirty

Russia. He was the son of a retired army agent and the grandchild of a general on his mother s side.
Fate works in mysterious ways, because he was very much expected to get a job in the army, but his
father wasted all the family s capital on insecure investments and later abandoned him and his family.
Aleksandr Siloti, an older cousin of Rachmaninoff, as well as a pianist and composer, saw
Rachmaninoff s capabilities and advised him to go Moscow for his piano studies and to learn from the

The Origin Of The Indian Caste System In India
The government structure in India began with the development of the Caste System. The caste system
in India is an important part of ancient Hindu tradition. The purpose of the caste system is to divide
Hindu of India into different social classes; especially, the lowest caste was disregarded by the other
classes. With the opposed thinking, Dr. Ambedkar and Gandhiji had the revolution to fight the Indian
Caste System about untouched ability. Christophe S. Queen wrote a review of the article Dr.

Ambedkar. Beyond that, there is some information about Indian Caste System. The origin of the
Indian caste system is related to the age of the Vedas. According to one long held theory about the
origins of South Asia s caste system, Aryans from central Asia invaded South Asia and introduced the

The United States Military Bases
For roughly 1% of the United States population, the past 10 years have been an ever changing
experience serving across the world. On September 11, 2001, the United States was attacked by a
terrorist organization residing in Afghanistan. The United States Armed forces were called upon to
fight a war against terrorism. In May 2003, this conflict extended to Iraq, which was acting as a safe
zone for many of the world s terrorists. Since that time, more than 70,000 contractors and sub
contractors have been hired by the Department of the Defense, in order to assist the United States
military in their mission against terrorism. These individuals known as the TCN s or third country
nationals, take part in everything from base security to cooking and laundry. However, since these
individuals are not United States citizens and the government has turned its back to them. Personal
knowledge, department of defense reports, and official law reviews contain a wide variety of
information that give a look inside what has been happening on the United States military bases.
Allegations of human trafficking, sexual assault, and indentured servitude are all common issues these
TCN s have endured.
In 2001, the Pentagon began taking in contract offers from companies around the United States.
Private contracting firms such as KBR Inc. or Prime Project International began receiving over 15

The Presence-Absence Of Opium In Sumerian Cuneiform
The presence absence of opium in the ancient Near East and Mesopotamia is a topic debated for
almost a century. In 1928 Charles Terry and Nildred Pellens, following an interpretation of R.
Doughert started the debate trying to identify opium in Sumerian Cuneiform word hul gil, in which
hul would mean opium and gil, joy . In 1949 Reginald Campbell Thompson, in an extensive paper on
Assyrian botany, recognized opium in another Sumerian term, ú nam ti (or ú nam til la), literally the
plant of life , corresponding to the Akkadian irrû. This term, according to Thompson, would mean
coursing, in the sense of a prophecy expressed under the narcotic effect, by binding to the same
concept the words šam and araru. From attempts to recognize the term

How Is Sonnet 21 Allegory
The Aspect of Love as Anoesis (pure), and Assertion (certain) and equal acceptance
There is nothing sweeter than a love as pure as gold and a love lovelier than a man s certainty of
emotions towards a woman. Indeed in Elizabeth Browning s Sonnet 21, it portrays the assurance of an
individual s declaration of love. It also gives you an idea about the purity and loyalty of Robert s and
Elizabeth s love for one another amidst all the obstacles they have faced.
Say over again, and yet once over again,
That thou dost love me. Though the word repeated
Should seem a cuckoo song, as thou dost treat it,

Theogony And The Biblical Book Of Genesis, Hesiod And Genesis
At first glance, the story of how it all began in Hesiod s Theogony, and in the Biblical book of Genesis
reveals certain similarities that I picked up on. Hesiod and Genesis share the same order of events:
mankind exists in alongside heavenly beings in utopia where there is just; a woman is introduced into
this utopian world; the actions of the woman produces the loss of before said utopia. This pattern is
used by both works of literature to better explain the presence of problems such as chaos and turmoil
in human existence, and both Hesiod and Genesis credit the first woman with these problems. In a
journal article Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press, the author declares that It is
especially striking that the biblical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

But despite these similarities, Eve and Pandora are characteristically different. Unlike Pandora, Eve is
not naturally evil. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and
nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because
Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s
attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate
individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is
plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for
man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is
an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering
alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer
together, if not wholly in the same way.
Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less
significant sex. Despite Eve being created from Adam, she was not created of an entirely new
framework such as Adam, as if she was not important enough to do so. Both Pandora and Eve were
created secondly both

Conspiracy In Othello And Catiline
The Conspiracy of Catiline and Cicero s Consulship
Cicero had many tough decisions during his life. One of these was what to do about Catiline and his
conspirators. Cicero had made a law that prohibited people from running for legislatures to not be able
to bribe voters in order to get elected. Catiline, while running for a position in the legislature, knew
that this law had been partially made because of him. Catiline wanted to obtain consulship and
overthrow the Roman government. Catiline, at first, just wanted to kill the two consuls, but then he
decided to kill all of the Senate. Although Catiline was planning on killing the men running the
government, he still tried to get legitimately elected. Catiline recruited other conspirators ... Show

they were trying to destroy the Republic and wage war against the country. Cato wanted them to see
what the punishment for other crimes similar to this one would be hoping this would discourage

Short Story Chivalry By Neil Gaiman
Chivalry is a short story written by Neil Gaiman. The story highlights the daily life of an elderly
woman, Mrs. Whitaker, who is a widow and lives by herself. She has clearly experienced life for what
it has to offer and as a result, she is careful in her every move. Her deftness is evident in her slow but
detailed approach to disposing of slugs and other tasks beforehand. Mrs. Whitaker is content with her
current situation. Consequently, she is not open to change that might change her. Therefore, when Sir
Galaad, a noble knight presents to her tempting gifts in exchange of the Holy Grail, she declines to
take the ruby apple that promises youth in three bites and settles for the other two gifts, which she
intends to display on her mantelpiece. Neil s story, Chivalry, highlights the power of patience, honesty,
and humbleness. It also suggests that there is a conflict in old age where an individual desires youth,
but at the same time, he or she is afraid to be young. Additionally, Chivalry is a story that highlights
the simplicity, irony of old age and the insecurities that come with age.

Motherhood In The 1800 s
As the 1800 s progressed, women developed an increased awareness of their lack of rights in society.
Even though they were productive members the society, women were not allowed to vote or have an
input in the government (Marshall). Men had compelled [women] to submit to laws, in the formation
of which [they] had no choice (The Declaration of Sentiments). Thus, women were not treated equally
to men and they had no control over this. Women also had the legal status of a minor, meaning they
could not own property or make many of their own decisions. Motherhood developed into the cult of

Sarah and Angelina Grimke were two sisters who lived in the south, but joined the abolition
movement regardless (Kendall 35). The abolition movement was closely linked to the women s rights
movement because many saw the cult of domesticity as a form of slavery (Marshall). The Grimkes
attended and spoke at a series of lectures in 1837 and 1838. Their speeches were later published as
Letters on the Equality of the Sexes and the Condition of Woman (Kendall 37). In one letter to her
sister, Sarah is quoted to have said all I ask of our brethren is, that they will take their feet from off our
necks and permit us to stand upright on the ground which God designed us to occupy (Kendall 36). In
this, Grimke highlights the oppression felt by women in the time period and the importance of
allowing women to have a voice. Another activist, Elizabeth Cady Stanton also felt it was essential for
men to have no more rights or power than women. She coined the motto, men, their rights and nothing
more: women, their rights and nothing less, (Kendall 42) meaning that men should have nothing more
than women, but women are not above men either. Cady Stanton also created the Seneca Falls

Gorbachev created a reform policy known as Glasnost which also affected the economy. Gorbachev

Analyzing Scott Russell Sanders Staying Put
An Indian writer and migration enthusiast, Salman Rushdie, claims that, the creation of radically new
types of human beings is the effect of mass migrations of people who root themselves in their ideas,
instead of places. Most would agree that Rushdie s claim is highly debatable. In Scott Russell Sanders
, Staying Put, he counter argues the opinion of Rushdie with a critical yet sarcastic and subjective tone
to skillfully develop his perspective about moving. Scott Sanders uses a critical tone in lines one
through twenty six to criticize the way that human beings have gotten too comfortable with finding
new places to live after mistreating their previous habitations without regard to fellow creatures or
descendants. He suggests, We have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through using a series of allusions from history, Sanders gives readers a general understanding of his
perspective. He writes, The Spaniards devastated Central and South America by imposing on this New
World the religion, economics, and politics of the Old. 55 Colonists brought slavery with them to
North America, along with smallpox and Norway rats. The Dust Bowl of the 1930s was caused not by
drought but by the transfer onto the Great Plains of farming methods that were suitable to wetter
regions. Sanders use of allusions gives a clear background of how migrators have had negative effects
on their fellow creatures and the people native to their new locations. An antithesis is used to counter
Rushdie s opinion, Sanders writes, the belief that movement is inherently good, staying put is bad; that
uprooting brings tolerance, while rootedness breeds intolerance; that imaginary homelands are
preferable to geographical ones; that to be modern, enlightened, fully of our time is to be displaced.
When Sanders puts him and Rushdie s contrasting ideas together, his subjectivity is obvious to
readers. This clear subjectivity is very effective in moving readers to believe that staying put should be

Essay Prejudice in To Kill A Mockingbird Telephone...
The dictionary defines prejudice as a learned, preformed, and unsubstantiated judgment or opinion
about an individual or a group, either favorable or unfavorable in nature. Through the study of the
book, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and the poem Telephone Conversation by Wole Soyinka,
ones understanding of prejudice and what makes up prejudice changes considerably for what could be
perceived as for the better or for the worse. Being ignorant of what is happening or not knowing and
properly understanding what prejudice is can make it easy to turn a blind eye to what is happening
around you. Learning what prejudice is makes one more conscious of what is happening right next to

Her and her brother, Jeremy Atticus Jem Finch were raised by their widowed father, Atticus, who had
instilled in his children a strong sense of justice and ethics at an early age.
To Kill A Mockingbird, is an exceptional reflection of the attitudes and morals of the whites and
blacks in the 1930 s. Suffering from the Great depression, the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, is
divided, blacks or negroes from whites. Both the black and the white community harbour ill thoughts
about each other, their prejudices against one another blinding them of any reason or logic. In the
book, it is stated that In our courts, when its white man s word against a black man s, the white always
wins. They re ugly, but those are the facts of life. Tom Robinson was a victim of a town where black
men were inferior to white people who assumed that all negroes lie. Atticus Finch, a white man who is
the black mans lawyer is not prejudiced against blacks like the rest of the town is. He attempts to
persuade an already biased jury of white men to feel their sense of morality and ethics. As Kate
Chopin said in The Awakening, Atticus is a fine example of, The bird that would soar above the level
plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. Atticus defies what all the other white
townspeople believe is right by defending Tom Robinson. One is able to see and understand clearly,
the prejudice amongst the townspeople that as a young child, Scout could not properly understand.

Political Art Ideas By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels

Art 006 Final
Essay #1: Political Art Ideas There was a time in history where oppression was very present in
Geremy, specifically dealing with the Natzis and communism. It was a time of great struggles for
different social classes. Once history starts to form new movements, culture and art also become
affected. Due to this time communism in the 1900s made Marxism come about. It is a movement in
art associated with Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels that looks at the different levels of class and the
conflict in each one. Not only in Russia was there problems within the governmental structure, it is a
worldwide problem. The Mexican Murals are also a reflection of this idea. Therefore, Russian
Constructivism and the Mexican Mural movement employ Marxism as a theory. First, Russian
Constructivism was created by a group of Russians in the 1990s. In general their work is geometrical
and non mimetic. Some of the important figures of this time would be Tatlin, Malerich, Lissitzky, and
Kandinsky. They wrote the, Programme of the First Working Group of Constructives which has three
main points. One that Scientific communism is heavily influenced by the theory of historical
materialism. Two, real experimentation is important. Three, there are three disciplines known as
Tectonics, Faktura, and Construction. Finally Russian
Constructivists declare war on art which relates to the communistic ideas of Marxism. Additionally,

Religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam
1.
God to the people of the big three monotheist religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) see god as an all
knowing, all seeing, and all powerful being.
I believe that that the Cosmological argument gives good reason to believe in the existence of God.
The Cosmological argument focuses on everything having a cause except one thing that started it all,
this starter is known as the Prime Mover . The Prime Mover is the one that starts everything without
anything having a previous effect on it. With that people have assumed that the logical answer to who
the prime mover is, is God. This to me seems the most logical of arguments because although there is
the idea of eternity and an eternal cycle there has to be a starting point. I do not believe the argument
is successful.
The reason that the argument does not succeed is because what proof is there that the prime mover is
an all powerful all mighty being? There could be alternate reasons related to science, The Big Bang
Theory, which could also be a reason. One of Aquinas s arguments against the cosmological argument
discussed that since everything in nature had a time where it did not exist there had to be a time where
it was nothing to bring anything into being. His argument was if this was possible there was nothing
around to bring the universe into being in the first place. Due to this a being such as God is not likely
to have existed before to create it. Who created God? The only thing that could be done to better prove

Research Paper On Ancient African Culture
One notable aspect of the Ancient African civilization was its magnificent art; reflecting the
importance Africans placed on storytelling, the natural world, and spirits/ancestors. The Africans used
art as a way to express life and culture within their generations. They believed there was more than a
mere representation of something concrete, and that an artistic depiction of something made it an
actual fact (Bogucki). So unlike most cultures who passed on history by word of mouth, the Africans
also used forms of art to create a better picture of history.
One way that Africans used art was by telling stories about their lives to help later generations
understand more about the history and culture. Many times the African tribes would come together
and have story time. Most times the chief would tell stories of the past and draw pictures on the cave
walls to illustrate what happened. This way the tribes could hear the stories but also visual what
actually went on. These cave paintings happens to be the first known form of art that was found in
ancient Africa (Rhea). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Reform Between 1825 And 1850
While some citizens of the United States, between 1825 and 1850, believed that reform was foolish
and that the nation should stick to its old conduct, reformists in this time period still sought to make
the United States a more ideally democratic nation. This was an age of nationalism and pride, and
where there was pride in one s country, there was the aspiration to improve one s country even further.
Many new reformist and abolitionist groups began to form, all attempting to change aspects of the
United States that the respective groups thought to be unfair or unjust. Some groups, such as lower
and middle class women and immigrants, sought to improve rights within the county, while other
reformers aspired to change the American education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also brings to attention how they are fighting for the right to vote, when their own form of
government, being the democracy that it is, should permit women the right to vote initially. (Doc F)
However, these women battled on and on to gain their rights, and make this country a truly democratic
nation. Others, such as immigrants, fought to make it possible for success in America. Due to the
naturalization act, an immigrant must remain in the United States for at least 14 years before
becoming a United States citizen and being able to really have any impact on the country at all.
Samuel F.B. Morse, in his Imminent Dangers to the Free Institutions of the United States brings the
subject of the Naturalization Act to the country s attention and attempts to change this act, in fear of a
conspiracy against immigration. (Doc D) No matter what obstacles were thrown into the path of these
groups battling on for reform, they didn t concede. The reformist groups persevered and fought to
expand America s democratic ideals.
While attempting to change certain groups rights was crucial, an almost equally pressing issue of
reform at the time was society. Across the country, increasing the morality and appearance of United
States citizens had suddenly become a much more pressing issue, and various reform assemblies, and
especially the church, struggled to improve society in ways they thought helpful. Due to the mass
urbanization occurring so rapidly,

even larger gap, and can be observed in the films that were made during that time. Vertigo and Citizen
Kane both show the objectification of women by controlling them, writing them in supportive roles,
and placing their value in the way that they look.
In Alfred Hitchcock s Vertigo, made in 1954, a detective falls in love with the woman that he is hired

Supply Chain Management And Logistics Essay
Supply Chain management and logistics are an extremely important functions of an organization. In
this research paper, we will be discussing an aspect of supply chain and logistics that I am interested
in, how both are related and different, key activities in supply chain and logistics, and the ethics and
social responsibility in both supply chain and logistics management.
Logistics is a vital component of supply chain management. Both involve the planning, carrying out
and management of goods, services and information from the point of origin to the point of
consumption. Logistics aligns the multifaceted pattern of traffic and transportation, shipping and
receiving, import and export operations, warehousing, inventory management, purchasing, production
planning and customer service. Organizations, like the one I work for, see logistics as a critical design
of the supply chain. When organizations incorporate logistics as a key component of the business plan,
they can use it to manage, coordinate and monitor resources needed to move products in a smooth,
timely, cost effective and reliable manner.
Like Logistics, Supply Chain Management is an essential element of operational efficiency. The
impact that supply chain has on our organization is substantial and exponential. Two of the main ways
SCM affects business include: boosts customer service and our overall bottom line. Supply chain

Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD)
Background: Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is a genetic disorder that predisposes to
emphysema and liver cirrhosis. We present a unique vascular complication of this syndrome.
Case report: A 47 year old female with a history of homozygous AATD presented with acute epigastric
pain, near syncope and hypotension. Laboratory tests revealed acute anemia with normal platelet
count and coagulation studies. Abdominal computed tomography angiography detected
hemoperitoneum and hematoma within the gastrohepatic ligament with active extravasation.
Abdominal angiography was suggestive of left gastric aneurysms. Transcatheter arterial embolization
was successfully performed on the proximal left gastric artery to stop the bleeding.
Conclusion: An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, gastric artery remained a rare site, it is utmost importance to establish early diagnosis in
order to provide urgent intervention; to prevent lethal consequence. Most patients remain
asymptomatic until aneurysm rupture so the majority of patients present to the hospital with acute
abdominal pain with hemorrhagic shock that requires urgent intervention, including ligation or
embolization by surgical or radiological interventional approaches, as in this patient. Transcatheter
embolization is the preferred method in patients with high surgical risk as in our patient and has a
success rate of 85% 10. Anatomically, the splanchnic arteries are defined as celiac, superior
mesenteric and inferior mesenteric arteries, which arise from abdominal aorta. The gastric artery is a
branch of the celiac artery. Common causes of gastric aneurysm formation include periarterial
inflammation, medial degeneration, and arteriosclerosis

Lack of Closure in Samuel Beckett s Waiting for Godot
Closure is a very important aspect of a narrative. Closure or the lack of it accomplishes the goal of a
creating a text which readers would want to continue reading to find out the ending, it helps to lead the
reader on. The term closure according to Abbott is best understood as something we look for in
narrative, as desire that authors understand and often expend art to satisfy or frustrate (Abbott, 57).In
the play Waiting for Godot, the lack of closure is very evident throughout it. This play significantly
follows the hermeneutic code, the level of questions or answers. This code has allowed for the author
to grasp the attention of the readers, due to the reason people like to find and understand closures, but
also allowing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this level, narrative is formed in such a way in which questions are likely to arise in the minds of
the readers, and the readers want those questions to be answered, readers want enlightenment . If the
author gives enlightenment to the reader, than closure has been achieved (Abbott, 61). The
hermeneutic code is followed from beginning to end in Waiting for Godot. Many of the passages are
written in a manner which creates the reader to come up with questions. But the none of the questions
are not answered, creating a frustrating lack of closure. The questions are raised as soon as the play
begins and continues till the end. For example, act 1 itself starts off with raising a lot of questions
when this conversation between Vladimir and Estragon occur:: ESTRAGON: Beat me? Certainly they
beat me. VLADIMIR: The same lot as usual? ESTRAGON: The same? I don t know. (Beckett, Act 1)
Just by reading these three lines, one wonders: who beat them up, why are they being beat. The
answer to this is never given in the play, instead it is always shut down in some sort of manner, the
topic is changed. In this scene the topic is changed from the beatings to Estragon s boots. This is a
clear usage of the hermeneutic code in this part of the play. The hermeneutic code is not only used in
parts of the play, but also in the whole of the it. The author has

Ap English Short Stories
It was early in the morning: Ruby left the tent, bleary eyed, and made his way through the field.
Unbound by the decaying fence, the cows had strayed to the far end of the clearing. Ruby hopped the
fence and began towards them; knowing the ritual, they stayed put. Now that he had breakfast, and
lunch if the milk lasted, Ruby began on the path that lead through the woods. He could hear the larks
calling; boasting, he imagined, to each other that they, too, were awake. Besides them it was quite.
Coming out into the sunlight once again, Ruby paused and took a look around. Exactly as he had left
it. He started his daily chore, picking through the rouble, looking for bits of metal, jewelry, and tools.
Despite this having been a mining settlement, Ruby could find very little ... Show more content on

A ship might, at any day, appear over the horizon, and seek shelter. The island, to those unaware of it s
history, looks quaint and comfortable. It was in a way, a nice place to visit. Long left by civilisation,
nature has reclaimed all but the houses, now standing in a sea of grass. Birds flock to the island,
knowing they will be undisturbed. Despite it s small size, it now has a population of deer, who must
have washed ashore and made the hard journey from mainland. If it is a short stop, I doubt one would
be more than bothered by the bodies. But it made sleeping overnight impossible. Even from the
boathouse and the docks, one can see a path of wreckage: lighthouse, once proud, is decrepit, and risks
its integrity with a gaping hole in it s side. The main building, moldy and listing, has a corresponding
hole in it s roof. At the bottom of this path lies a skeleton, axe in hand, looking up at the stars. Ruby
didn t care whether the island was quaint, however. Nor if it was haunted. He wanted to leave because
he was bored. He wanted to leave because he was tired of the same day in and day out. Most of all, he
wanted to leave because he was

  • 2. Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis Essay Did humankind prevent the start of an ice age during the Holocene? Discuss arguments for and against the Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis. The Holocene Epoch is the timescale given to the last 11,700 years of earth s history, beginning at the end of the last ice age. (BD Smith et al, 2013) Therefore it can be noted as being a relatively warm period in history in comparison to other scales of time from the past. The Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis is an idea put forward by Professor William F Ruddiman from the University of Virginia which states that the effects of human induced greenhouse gas emissions did not occur simply since the industrial era, but may well have been kick started many thousands of years before this, closer to the start of the Holocene. By which may have prevented the start of an ice age during this timescale. However there are many views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This coincides with Ruddiman s belief of CO2 levels increasing due to human activity. There is a clear pattern between the rise in industrial activity and the rise in CO2 levels. Since the industrial revolution (1750 1900) there was a rapid rise in levels of CO2 being created and emitted into the atmosphere. As a consequence, this saw a rise in the CO2 levels from 270ppm to roughly 310ppm by the 1950 s, which increased again in the following 30 years by 70ppm, after the initiation of the Great Acceleration of industry (W Steffen et al, 2007). Non coincidentally the Little Ice Age which occurred during the Holocene ended at around 1800, shortly after the beginning of the Industrial revolution. (Richard Prentice) This shows a clear correlation between the increase of CO2 levels and human activity. Although this is most certainly in more recent times, it still provides clear evidence to suggest that Ruddiman was correct in his belief that human activity causes CO2 rise and therefore has the potential to prevent the start of an ice ... • 3. The Service Sector Management Class Interactive, collaborative conversations with customers are essential for gaining critical information and insight about customers situations and enable salespeople to offer unique, added value solutions for customers needs. (SELL4, Cengage Learning, 82) Communication skills, to me, is the main topic within the Service Sector Management class. The reason I believe this is because in order to build trust, sale, understand the buyer, etc. you must be able to talk to the customers. Trust based sales communication is when you must talk with the customer rather than at them. It is a collaborative and two way form of communication that allows buyers and sellers to better understand the need of situations and working together to create the best responses for resolving the customer s needs. Trust based communication is the sharing of importance between buying and selling individuals that result from the interactive process of exchanging information and ideas. With this emphasis on establishing understanding, communication is essential throughout each stage of the selling process. Effective communication skills are needed to classify buying needs and to demonstrate to buyers how a salesperson s planned solution can satisfy those needs better than competitors. The critical capabilities for effective selling include questioning, listening, giving information, nonverbal communication, and written communication skills. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer together, if not wholly in the same way. Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less significant sex. Political Art Ideas By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels Songyi Yoo 12/19/14 Art 006 Final Essay #1: Political Art Ideas There was a time in history where oppression was very present in Geremy, specifically dealing with the Natzis and communism. It was a time of great struggles for different social classes. Once history starts to form new movements, culture and art also become affected. Due to this time communism in the 1900s made Marxism come about. It is a movement in art associated with Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels that looks at the different levels of class and the conflict in each one. Not only in Russia was there problems within the governmental structure, it is a worldwide problem. The Mexican Murals are also a reflection of this idea. Therefore, Russian Constructivism and the Mexican Mural movement employ Marxism as a theory. First, Russian Constructivism was created by a group of Russians in the 1990s. In general their work is geometrical and non mimetic. Some of the important figures of this time would be Tatlin, Malerich, Lissitzky, and Kandinsky. They wrote the, Programme of the First Working Group of Constructives which has three main points. One that Scientific communism is heavily influenced by the theory of historical materialism. • 24. Religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam 1. God to the people of the big three monotheist religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) see god as an all knowing, all seeing, and all powerful being. I believe that that the Cosmological argument gives good reason to believe in the existence of God. The Cosmological argument focuses on everything having a cause except one thing that started it all, this starter is known as the Prime Mover . The Prime Mover is the one that starts everything without anything having a previous effect on it. With that people have assumed that the logical answer to who the prime mover is, is God. This to me seems the most logical of arguments because although there is the idea of eternity and an eternal cycle there has to be a starting point. I do not believe the argument is successful. The reason that the argument does not succeed is because what proof is there that the prime mover is an all powerful all mighty being? There could be alternate reasons related to science, The Big Bang Theory, which could also be a reason. One of Aquinas s arguments against the cosmological argument discussed that since everything in nature had a time where it did not exist there had to be a time where it was nothing to bring anything into being. His argument was if this was possible there was nothing around to bring the universe into being in the first place. Due to this a being such as God is not likely to have existed before to create it. Research Paper On Ancient African Culture One notable aspect of the Ancient African civilization was its magnificent art; reflecting the importance Africans placed on storytelling, the natural world, and spirits/ancestors. The Africans used art as a way to express life and culture within their generations. They believed there was more than a mere representation of something concrete, and that an artistic depiction of something made it an actual fact (Bogucki). So unlike most cultures who passed on history by word of mouth, the Africans also used forms of art to create a better picture of history. One way that Africans used art was by telling stories about their lives to help later generations understand more about the history and culture. Many times the African tribes would come together and have story time. Most times the chief would tell stories of the past and draw pictures on the cave walls to illustrate what happened. This way the tribes could hear the stories but also visual what actually went on. These cave paintings happens to be the first known form of art that was found in ancient Africa (Rhea). ... The term closure according to Abbott is best understood as something we look for in narrative, as desire that authors understand and often expend art to satisfy or frustrate (Abbott, 57).In the play Waiting for Godot, the lack of closure is very evident throughout it. If the author gives enlightenment to the reader, than closure has been achieved (Abbott, 61). The hermeneutic code is followed from beginning to end in Waiting for Godot. Many of the passages are written in a manner which creates the reader to come up with questions. But the none of the questions are not answered, creating a frustrating lack of closure. The questions are raised as soon as the play begins and continues till the end. For example, act 1 itself starts off with raising a lot of questions when this conversation between Vladimir and Estragon occur:: ESTRAGON: Beat me? Certainly they beat me. VLADIMIR: The same lot as usual? ESTRAGON: The same? I don t know. (Beckett, Act 1) Just by reading these three lines, one wonders: who beat them up, why are they being beat. The answer to this is never given in the play, instead it is always shut down in some sort of manner, the topic is changed. In this scene the topic is changed from the beatings to Estragon s boots.
