Mega Events Like The Olympics And Fifa World Cup
Mega Events like the Olympics and FIFA world Cup are both tremendously important and popular
today. It is because there are so few, if any, other events that truly inspire international cooperation and
unity like they do. If one can imagine these events as a mirrors reflecting back the organization of
international politics, the mega events show a picture of incredible harmony and cooperation (Segrave,
1988). Inherent in that picture of harmony is the opportunity to spread important ideals such as
equality, freedom, and democracy throughout the world. In addition global mega events like the world
cup and the Olympics have become incredibly effective tools for reorganizing an economy on
neoliberal grounds. The Olympics in particular has emerged as the premier event in the international
community. However, for all its acclaim, the presentation of the games is drastically different from the
games of old. Throughout the evolution the intentions of the games has been skewed. As a result, the
modern games, as we know them portray an interesting question politically and economically. In this
chapter I will discuss the evolution of the Games conceptually, in order to pose the ultimate question;
Why host the Olympics? The First Games The first Games of 776 B.C. in Olympia, Greece were a
time to celebrate sport and honor their religious deity. In many regards it was considered a cultural
festival by which Greek regions and cities sent their finest athletes to compete in

Screwtape Letters Summary
The Screwtape letters is another great work of Lewis where he uses imagination to explain the truth
upside down through letters between two devils. It is like reverse psychology in a way for example if
something is good in Screwtape then it is bad in reality or if something is a setback it is actually a
victory in struggles against evil ( Brown 177). Lewis then talked about his idea of the devil ; he does
not believe the devil is the opposite force against God, rather he says it is angels that have become
bad. He goes on to explain that these demonic representations are just symbolic and these symbols of
concrete reality are used in the Screwtape letters (Brown 178). The first letter is basically saying that

Ward Wrote There has been a dichotomy between reason and imagination ever since the
Enlightenment of the 17th and 18th centuries. Reasonable people don t need imagination. Imaginative
people don t need reasons (3). Then why do we believe in Lewis s collaboration of reason and
imagination that makes him so successful? The answer is that reason judges between meanings that
right and wrong and imagination produces these meanings (Ward 3). Lewis s works described above
give an account about this especially Mere Christianity. He showed that all worldviews have some
flaws but Christianity is a myth that is true. He fulfills our inner desires and baptizes our intellectual
minds. Lewis s mission was to live like a disciple of Christ himself and helped make Disciples of
Christ in heart and mind. He despised the idea of biblical separation and was a firm believer of
Christian unity and influenced movements based on this unity in different parts of the world especially
among evangelicals (Ryken 10). This is possibly, why he is so successful today among most
Christians, non Christians, and

Software Defined Networks Essays
Abstract Software defined networking is a new concept that redefined the current network device
architecture and the way they behave. Due to the exponential growth of the Internet and services
attached to this worldwide infrastructure, a number of issues have cropped up in modern day
networks. This paper discusses a few of these limitations and how the software defined networking
approach tries to alleviate them. OpenFlow, released in the year 2008, is a commercially viable
implementation of this concept that is being well received by the networking industry at large. The
paper also discusses the OpenFlow protocol, its implementation and the challenges facing its
widespread acceptance 1. Introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because, to implement any change to the network policies, the network engineers have to
reconfigure each device individually to ensure a consistent set of access, security and QoS parameters.
Further, with the evolution of Internet and enterprise data centers, the nature of data circulating on the
Internet has also undergone a tremendous change. Data transfer in the form of video and audio is
increasing at a tremendous pace[2]. Moreover, different sources of data (e.g. mobile, tablet PCs) have
placed considerable pressure on modern networks. The current capacities of network switches do not
support the transfer of these mass amounts of data. Moreover, with advent of social media, amount of
data generated on websites such as Facebook and LinkedIn has reached humungous levels. As this
demand for dynamic and unpredictable data grows, more and more devices have to be added to
existing networks and configured accordingly. The need of the hour is to regulate networks centrally
and as a whole rather than configure individual network devices and gain more control to achieve
flexibility in existing networks. 3. Software Defined Networking Software defined networking is a
concept born out of the need to control network devices centrally, wherein the service offered by a
device is decoupled from the device in a way that

Blade Runner And Frankenstein Comparison
Creation and Consequence
The idea of playing God is a strong theme throughout science fiction and portrays different effects in
various works. One of the first characters to accomplish this is Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein. Another character of science fiction recognized to do this is Dr. Tyrell from Blade
Runner. These men played God and created a new form of life, but for different reasons and different
results. Victor Frankenstein played the role of God in hopes of getting rid of death and disease so no
one else would know the suffering that he felt after the death of his mother. He is a learned man and
became fixated on acquiring the secret of life . Finally he finds the secret, but is unhappy with his
results, a foul mangled monster. As a result, Victor is enraged, guilt ridden and consumed with the lust
of destroying his creation. As a result of Victors remorse and anger the monster is ridden with
suffering and sadness. Henceforth the monster and Victor make a deal for the monster to obtain a
companion. Be that as it may, Victor goes back on his part of the deal and the monster is enraged and

Dr. Tyrell discovers a way to replicate life for humanity s benefit, but instead for economic reason and
not personal like Dr. Frankenstein. Unlike Victor, his creations, called Replicants, are extremely
similar to humans. Roy Batty, a Replicant, leads a group of other Replicants looking for a way to
prolong their life which is only four years. They come to the conclusion that the only one with the
knowledge to extend their lives is their creator Dr. Tyrell. Although this may be true, he admits there is
no way to change their life capacity. Enraged by this; Roy kills Dr. Tyrell, but unlike the monster in
Frankenstein who kills out of sadness and pain Roy kills for revenge that his life is so

Essay On Acceleration Class
I enjoyed my fourth day at Forest Brook Middle School. I sat in both an Accelerated class and General
Ed class. The Accelerated class was working on One Step and Two Step Equations. Since the lesson
ended early they were able to work in groups and start on homework. Ms. Molesky informed me that
in this particular class students didn t need much help because they can do everything on their own.
Their homework was a maze like worksheet where each answer led them to a certain problem. While
walking around I noticed one student solving the problems in his own way, but he still gets the right
answer, he tried explaining it to me and his partner, but we both didn t get his method. There was
another student who made a mistake on his maze and selected

Same Sex Marriage Debate Over The Free Speech Clause And...
Judging from this article from Wall Street Journal, the major conflict that exists in this same sex
marriage legalization debate is between the free speech clause and antidiscrimination law. Technically,
the people who refused to offer their service to the homosexual people based on their religious belief
were not legally wrong according to the first amendment. However, did the homosexual couples do
anything wrong? No, they didn t. They ordered the same services, and they were willing to pay the
same amount of money. What they wanted was nothing illegal. Then here comes the dilemma, how
can neither of them be wrong in a conflict? So, this paper will analyze the rightness and the wrongness
in an ethical dilemma between civil rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Kantian ethics, the standard is based on if most people are acting the same way. Even though
some people are still struggling on whether they should support the LGBT community, the statistics
give us a clear trend of people s change of their perspective on same sex marriage. According to the
national polling data, the number of people who support the same sex marriage had risen from 37
percent in 2005 to 60 percent in 2015. Apparently, with the development of the modern society, more
and more people are becoming open minded and willing to show their support to the LGBT
community. Moreover, while some religious people against the same sex marriage, some of them
choose to support it due to the different interpretation of the bible they are holding. Jesus never said a
single word about gays or lesbians or same sex marriage, or any of the other social issues that so many
people seem to be possessed with fighting today , said Ducan(n.d),a Christian. Since the number of
supporting the legalization of same sex marriage has an increasing tendency, in this instance, same sex
marriage can be defined morally right standing on the popular belief. For the principle of Rights,
whether a business decision is defined ethical depends on how it affects the rights of stakeholders,
including owners, consumers, employees, the community and the society. For the firms that rejected to

Government Conspiracies and Life Threatening Experiments
Powered byLoading... Look, if you think any American official is going to tell you the truth, then you
re stupid. Did you hear that? stupid, proclaims Arthur Sylvester, Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Public Affairs (The Governments, 1). Those that reflect a low trust for the government and businesses
have conjured various theories to explain where the government has failed to inform their nation with
all of the information. With the government exempting themselves from telling their citizens thetruth,
America has every right not to trust them. As people of a country founded on truth and justice, the
citizens should open their eyes and not be blinded by the pretentious feeling of safety that the officials
are trying to portray. Conspiracy Theorists have made many different theories to prove events where
reality has been distorted. While some are false, some can be educated theories and proven right.
Although, few Government conspiracies have held legitimacy throughout history, some are founded
on truth. Without us realizing the government s superior motive, it is easy to find times in the past
when the people that hold great power would manipulate the general public. During the

Transportation In San Francisco
Transportation innovation and conditions in San Francisco were not always created easily. San
Francisco s had an exceptional nightmare from a transit point of view. The obvious problem was San
Francisco geographic makeup. Hills caused the early settlers to deal with the swamp like conditions.
San Francisco expanded population after the Gold Rush led to better paved streets. In the 1870s
Andrew S. Hallidie developed a rope and cable car technology that could drag ore and tools up hills
by being pulled by horses. In 1873, the Clay Street Railroad Cable car line was established. Early
cable cars were pulled by horses on rails. In the 1890s, electric street cars took over horse car services
(Hartlaub, 2015). In the 19th century, railroads encouraged economic progress in California.
Transportation costs were reduced, which allowed remote lands and resources to be attainable. Various
markets for producers were widened, which enabled raising the land value and increased many people
s earnings and income. One of the first results of the advent of the railroad was phenomenal
urbanization. Oakland, a steamboat port that had been settled in the 1850s ... Show more content on

Evidence Of The Changing Roles Of Women In Women And Women
evidence of the changing roles of female involvement within terrorist organisations along with
increasing numbers of female Islamic terrorists (Bakkers de Leede, 2015; Lavina, 2015).
Terrorist organisations traditionally maintained gendered specific roles and women predominantly
provided a support type role (Bakker de Leede, 2015). This was in the form of bearing children or
recruiters (Bloom, 2011). This has been evolving with instances of women actively engaging in
violent Islamic terrorism (Bloom, 2011). High profile cases of home grown radicalisation of females
of a British background like that of Samantha Lewthwaite and Sally Jones could be examples of a new
breed of female terrorist (Bakkers de Leede, 2015; Berkowitz ... Show more content on

It is hoped that an updated and more comprehensive analysis of female radicalisation and their
involvement within Islamic terrorist organisations will lead to a greater understanding of female
radicalisation and extremism and subsequently the development of more effective measures to combat
this phenomenon in the form of more gender specific counter terrorism strategies (Saltman Smith,
2015; Musial, 2017).
Background/ Context
Terrorism is not a new occurrence; it is a common feature of Northern Irish history due to the conflict
of The Troubles (MI5 Secret Services, 2016; Newburn, 2013; Wright, 2010). Traditional terrorism like
that of the IRA (Irish Republican Army) in Northern Ireland predominantly occurred within local
geographical parameters and against specific targets, it also operated in a fairly predictable nature
(Morgan, 2004, Wright, 2010). In order to deal with the threat of Northern Irish terrorism, intrusive
counter terrorism measures were introduced (Mythen, 2014; Wright, 2010). These were designed to
deal with domestic and localised terrorism (Morgan, 2004; Mythen, 2014; Wright, 2010). In recent
years, the terrorist threat has expanded beyond local parameters (Wright, 2010).
Globalisation has blurred how terrorism operates and has aided the development of a modernised
terrorism (Aas, 2013). The Home Office acknowledged that terrorist threats have changed in recent
years and this is expected to change further unless an efficient solution is

What Was The Immediate Legacy Of The Jay Spring
Legacy: The immediate legacy of the Prague Spring was the dissident movement , lead by groups of
mostly writers and intellectuals, which focused on overthrowing the government entirely. On January
16th, 1969, a student named Jan Palach set himself on fire in Prague to protest the censorship of free
speech (Stoneman). In the weeks following his death, about half a million people lost their jobs and
the Communist party purged half a million members while others resigned (BBC). Dissidents blamed
the Soviets for his death and they became more motivated to create political change, so they published
the Charter 77 Declaration , a charter for human rights made in 1977 (Stoneman, BBC). This
document called on the government to recognize that there were violations of treaties that had
guaranteed certain freedoms, such as religious confession and public expression. ... Show more

Memo
To: Ms. Boyce, Chief Executive Officer
From: Student, Personnel Management Consultant
Subject: Karen Carlin Case Study: Issue Analysis and Proposed Solutions
Date: 21 October 2010
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memo is to analyze and propose solutions for the issues Karen Carlin faces as she
takes on the supervisor role for the schedule typist department of Hepplewhite Boyce. The three issues
to be analyzed are (1) lack of productivity, (2) insubordination and abuse of company resources, and
(3) staff mismanagement. First, the problems will be defined and probable causes discussed. Then,
recommendations will be made to resolve these issues.

She has also been known to report to work, only to leave the office for hours at a time doing personal
errands. Pat is influencing the others to take long lunches and be late for work as well. This blatant
abuse can be attributed to the following possible causes:
1. The employees are not challenged.
2. The employees resent management for not listening to their ideas regarding process improvement.
Clearly, the insubordination and abuse of company resources cannot be allowed to continue. Staff
Mismanagement
And finally, there is the issue of staff mismanagement. The supervisor, Keith Frazier, is only checking
in with this department one to two times per week. Mr. Frazier is aware that Pat is making
international phone calls. He is also aware that Pauline found a way for Pat to make these calls from
the building s elevator once he had the phone system modified to only allow internal calls. Mr. Frazier
has also been fielding complaints from the accountants about not receiving their tax schedules in a
timely fashion. However, he has failed to confront either of these issues. This lack of management can
be attributed to the following:
1. Mr. Frazier does not respect the type of work done by this department.
2. Mr. Frazier fears confrontation.
Something must be done to allow for better management of the staff.
RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS
Recommendations to solve the issues in the three areas

The Principle Of The Harm Principle
John Stuart Mills famous work On Liberty is one of the most influential doctrines of the theory of
liberalism. Liberalism as concluded from Mills means protecting and enhancing the freedom of the
individual. Liberals typically believe that government is necessary to protect individuals from being
harmed by others; but they also recognise that government itself can pose a threat to liberty. In
Chapter IV, Of the Limits to the Authority of Society over the Individual, Mill examined the extent to
which society legitimately exercises power over the individual, he was concerned about the control of
society and how much of individual life should be divided between individuality and society. Mill
further explained that though society is not founded on a contract one should give back from what ...

Mill states the only time others are warranted in interfering with the freedoms of individuals is for self
protection or to prevent that individual from harming others. Contemporary examples of this logic are
present in prostitution, gambling, the legalisation of recreational marijuana, alcohol, requiring
lawmakers to make subjective interpretations. In my opinion, the harm principle cannot be applied to
government legislation, while this principle certainly carries theoretical merit, it is also quite
subjective. It will be difficult to apply generalised principles to situations that do not threaten others
basic survival rights. For instance, smoking may be a repulsive habit to many, but should an individual
s freedom to smoke be called into question? While second hand smoke affects others, one may argue
that this is not a direct threat to survival as the way that a drunk driving is. Certainly, a contrast in the
severity of harm or inconvenience that can potentially affect others by an individual s behaviour. In
addition, the same freedom affects different individuals in different

Early Church Writings
I found the early Church writings interesting, because it gave me a clearer understanding of the lattice
weaving between the scriptures, catechetical manuals, witness statements, and liturgical guides
working together supporting each other within the Catholic Church. After the fall of Jerusalem 70AD,
the Holy Spirit was obviously present for the Jewish rabbis to meet and agree on what Old Testament
books would be considered Sacred Scripture: The Law, or Torah is the first five books of the Bible, the
historical books, the Prophets, and the Writings. Because by the second century the Church found
itself being challenged by Marcion own interpretation of God goes against the dogma of the Church

Origen also taught three ways of interpreting Scripture; the literal (referring to the intention of the
author), the moral (our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit, we should not desecrate our temple with
bad habits) and the allegorical, (eternal significance, the Church is leading us to Heaven). 1777 years
later the Vatican II gave three very similar guidelines for interpreting the Bible: 1. attention to the
content and unity of the whole Scripture 2. adherence to the Church s Tradition 3. mindfulness of the
analogy of Faith. The analogy of Faith means the harmony or coherence of the truths of Faith relative
to one another and within the whole plan of Revelation. (CCC 112 114) Presently the modern Church
does offer a bible that has good footnotes, pictures, maps, and clear explanation of scripture, more
importantly to combat heresy; we must read the bible with a sense of Tradition, from what the original
author means to say, not what I think the reading means. Sadly, our Protestant siblings have turned

Longing For Love
A Comparative Essay By Jack Ettlinger
In the song I Just Haven t Met You Yet (IJHMYY) written and composed by Michael Buble, themes
such as love, optimism, and loneliness are all are evident. These themes are also found in the song
Love Song For No One (LSFNO), written and composed by John Mayer, but optimism is replaced by
pessimism. Both of these songs are about a man longing for love; however, in the first, the man is
optimistic and hopeful, while in the second he is getting anxious and a little doubtful. The way that the
themes are portrayed are both similar and different in that they are about love, optimism/pessimism
and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mayer says that he has been, searching all my days just to find you not sure who I m looking for, and
the listener feels his exhaustion, sadness and most of all, his loneliness.
In his song, Michael Buble is clearly lonely, but his loneliness in motivating him to persevere in his
life, and to find the one that will complete him. The lyric I know someday that it ll all turn out, you ll
make me work, so we can work to work it out shows this. He knows that the love of his life is out
there and that she is coming, and therefore his loneliness feels temporary. There is, in his mind, an end
in sight. He understands that he has to be patient: I might have to wait, I ll never give up, I guess it s
half timing and the other half s luck. Buble trusts that love is coming for him. He knows he won t have
to be lonely for too long.
The songs, I Just Haven t Met you Yet, and Love Song For No One both focus on the theme of love,
and at first glance, can be perceived as very similar. But by dissecting the lyrics and looking more
closely at the undertones and messages of both songs, we find that they are actually almost opposite in
their approach to the mystery of love.
As an ending note, John Mayer is still girlfriend less, while, as a true example of life imitating art,
Michael Buble is engaged to the beautiful model who played the girl of his dreams in the video for his
hit song. I guess he really did meet her after all.

Workplace Violence Paper
Workplace Violence 2
Workplace violence has increased over the past few years. The violence deals with harassment and
threatening disruptive behavior. Workplace violence can occur between employee, employers,
customers and patients. In some cases of violence in workplace can end up as a homicide. The goal is
to look at the prevention and training methods that are in place to help make an individual work
environment safe. Violence on the job can happen at any given time and usually come from disgruntle
employees and customers. Examples of people susceptible to violence are public service workers,
healthcare professionals and law enforcement. Preventing workplace violence is a growing concern in
the United States. Public interest and media attention have focused primarily on dramatic but very rare
types of violence such as shootings by disgruntled employees in office buildings. Planners of

Poland Essay
I write hoping to give voice to the condition of Poland and her people to our representatives. In this
moment of terror, we need the leadership and guidance of our government, now more than ever to
give our countrymen comfort and strength in our hour of need. Our government in London is there to
represent our people to the global community, and in this moment, we desperately need your help.
There needs to be a record of our suffering. The last two years have brought great change to our
nation. Once again, the Soviets and Nazis have divided Poland into their own halves, and in the west,
we are under Nazi occupation.
Unfortunately, the last two years were a series of swift and confusing events. Our allies Britain and
France have forsaken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This has made them sloppy in who they choose for filling their quotas and it appears that the Jews are
the easiest to deport given they are living in guarded ghettos. Ethnic cleansing The deportation
reinforces the Nazi s view of us as animals, rather, then humans. Our lives hold no value to the Nazis,
we are Polish swine not worthy of life. But I believe that with our huge population, neither the concept
of the Polish State nor the Jews will be eliminated by the Nazi s heartless actions. If those with
influence outside our nation could use their voice to testify to the suffering for every Polish citizen.
Another reason for the deportations of Poles is the resistance movement that has formed. The spirit of
the January Uprising has not left our people, and there has formed a resistance movement. The Nazis
fear the willingness of Poles to fight for their homeland. Yet, they seemed to have devised a plan to
combat and destroy our fighting spirit. They have started a war against the clergy and intelligentsia
believing that we are the leadership, and the destruction of the leadership class will allow for control
of the nation. To destroy the leadership, will let our nation be open those who are not a thin Germanic
layer, [with an] underneath [of] frightful material, but ethnic Germans, in need of a homeland.

Cyra Malfadden On Language Summary
In the article On Language; IN DEFENSE OF GENDER, author Cyra McFadden is trying to start a
discussion on how our language is primarily male oriented, but does not need to change. McFadden
mocks the variations being made to conform to a gender neutral language, including the use of words
like persons . By mocking the use of the neutral words like persons, it obvious that McFadden is
displeased with the changes of taking masculinity out of everyday language usage. The masculine
undertone of the English language and its unwanted changes are being acknowledged and scrutinized
because, of new gender identifiers in the working class, written language, and our spoken language.
The author makes a mockery out of the slashes used for words like he ... Show more content on

This supports the author s goal because, it brings to life her negative thoughts on people referring to
males and females as persons in order to accommodate the sensitivity of the other gender. I disagree
with McFadden s thoughts on referring to people as persons is ludicrous. By mocking the
accommodation of a new gender sensitive language, it s as if Cyra McFadden is bringing women
down, instead of uplifting us. We live in a time where women can be first responders, on the front
lines of war, and have important political power, yet it is easy to see as a woman that we still have to
fight for equality. This is the reason it is imperative to make the changes towards a gender neutral
language.
McFadden makes it known that the gender variations replaced by he slash she are unwelcome and
distracting. She describes the sound of the words he slash she while being read aloud, as a replay of
the Charles Manson killings. McFadden writes about the literary changes as a distraction saying in
print, those person suffixes and he/she s jump out from the page, as distracting as a cloud of gnats,
demanding that the reader note the writer s virtue (McFadden,

Research Paper On Gallium
The discovery of such an element as gallium does not come as just any accidental discovery. Gallium
or Ga, atomic number 31 was in a long research process for fifteen years by Lecoq de Boisbaudran.
He had been meticulously studying the spectra of several chemical elements, Lecoq knew that each
and every element produces its very own and distinct pattern of lines when heated, or spectra. As
Lecoq de Boisbaudran continued his drive to learn more of the distinct element spectra, he
distinguished that the element on the periodic table between indium and aluminum was yet to be
discovered. Lecoq de Boisbaudran theorized that with gallium supposedly having an atomic number
of 31, it could be that gallium is contained within zinc, atomic number thirty. ... Show more content on

Jesus gave His life to purchase His Bride, the church. We are told that we were purchased with His
blood in Acts 20:28 NKJV, Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, which the Holy
Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he hath purchased with His own
blood. We are also told in Galatians 4:5 KJV why Jesus paid the bridal price of His blood, To redeem
them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. John the Baptist had already

Economics and Change
Economics and Change Dimensions of Professional Practice 08/02/2015 Economics and Change
Introduction Health care in America is at the center of controversy. It is a progressive and rapid
changing entity. Since the 1970s, America has seen many different types of programs and funds
created to help solve the issue of the cost of health care. Many of these programs are on the brink of
bankruptcy and have not done far enough to make it more affordable and assessable. Actually America
has the most expensive healthcare system in the world and not only is it the most expensive, but in
many areas such as quality of care, America is no where near the top among developed countries
(Davis, Stremikis, Squires, amp; Schoen, 2014). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This approach would greatly benefit people that are already under some type of government
healthcare because the government would find the best companies to work with in order to provide all
types of care from a routine visit to hospice. These companies would then charge the government only
for the services provided. This is where there is a big problem. Right now pricing for most of
American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the Specialty Society Relative Value
Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). This is problematic because this committee is
deciding the prices rather than the actual cost of products. If this process was changed then people
could use rationalization to determine that a government ran universal healthcare system would be in
the best self interest. Healthcare Committee Committees are very important in improving and
discussing ways to improve healthcare in America. There are many different types of committees that
would be assembled, but the most important one would be one to replace the RUC. An example of
what is wrong with the RUC is demonstrated in a balloon needed for sinus surgery. The balloon itself
costs 2,600 dollars to be made. The RUC priced it at 3,000 dollars for each procedure. This balloon
can be used up to 6 times before a new one must be used. Six procedures could be done with one
balloon that costs 2,600 dollars and Medicare will

To A Mouse, By Robert Burns
In the poem, To a Mouse, by Robert Burns, is one confusing poem. From my understanding, when
someone knows what the poem is talking about it makes more sense. When you hear the poem being
read aloud, you can start to understand exactly what is going at. In this poem, a mouse s home was
destroyed by a farmer. Let s just say that, that farmer was pretty upset doing such a thing. Being a
farmer and not knowing what you are going to destroy, can be devastating, but at the same time you
when you need to get work done, you don t care what is in the way. But there are three important
messages from To a Mouse, the mouse s home gets destroyed, secondly Burns says that we the people
and the mouse have some similar traits, and lastly we also have some differences. ... Show more

Burns now realizes what he has done and he feels incredibly horrible. He realizes that he destroyed a
living things home. He says, I m truly sorry man s dominion, has broken natures social union. Burns
notices that we humans, are the same in some ways. Robert feels guilt, I mean who wouldn t after
destroying somethings home. Burns addresses the mouse as a companion he grieves the loss of its
nest. He believes that the mouse is blessed, compared to him. Secondly, we are somehow the same.
Robert Burns talks to the mouse saying how he can relate to the poor mouse s home. We can only
imagine how that mouse felt, losing its home and not having a place to stay during the winter. One
thing that caught my attention was why would the mouse choose the field? Maybe he didn t have any
other place to look and wanted to find something fast and quick. Burns says, But mousie, thou art no

Similarly, Eytukan the clan leader of the Na vi also shared the same sentiment who regarded Jake

Why I Am N Ä’
Am nē zha The sun was ascending so fast on the horizon when Aika and I blundered through the
market as we way back from jogging on the Kuala Lumpur street. The aroma of coffee permeated the
market s air. As we were walking, I stopped after identifying some fascinating small portrait sneaking
at the corner of a chair. Wait, I need to see something, I beamed to Aika. She whipped her head and
when I looked, shooting one last glance toward her, she shooed me with her right hand in the air.
Then, she indicated she was going to grab some cappuccino from Starbuck located in the middle of
the street. I gave her the signal and diverted my attention on the miniature. I edged slowly into the
chair and I crouched down to pick the portrait, to get a better look. My eyes irresistibly draw to the
crack at the center of the portrait. I put it back, with my brown eyes lit up at the price tag, who had
introduced into shrinking cost. I walked away from the stall and as I rambled down the street to rejoin
Aika. I saw a diary located on the sidewalk. It was bounded by brown paper, twine wrapped around it
and a dusty plastic flower at the center. I took a step to pick it up on the highest shelf. Then my heart
began to hammer in my ribcage, as I slid the flower on the right side, eyes widened to the name
written in swirly black ink, it was my name. An image viewed in my head of writing a diary. I d never
written in swirly black ink before, or even kept a notebook. The scorching heat

Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed To Adopt
Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed to Adopt With the battle of same sex marriage still continuing,
it has yet aroused another subject similar to the matter: should same sex couple be allowed to adopt.
Throughout the 21th century, this topic has been controversially debated whether or not same sex
couples adopting is a negative or beneficial right. With this being said, homosexual couples should be
allowed to adopt because kids with homosexual parents are more open minded, shown the same love
by parents and show love to others, however children are believed to face social stigmatization. Kids
may have the advantage of open mindedness, tolerance and role models for equitable relationships
when having homosexual parents. One instance show when children are raised by homosexual parents
are believed they will be more tolerant when reaching older stages in their life to the LGBT
community. For example a child is raised by a gay couple, which later the child when older will be
more accepting of those around them and open minded to homosexual couples since they were raised
by a homosexual couple. Following this, children will be taught not to judge people off of their
lifestyle, but to judge off of their personality. Therefore, children who are raised by homosexual
parents generally have better social skills, and peer relationships which result in a stronger buffer
against stigma or discrimination. However, in some instances children face indirect consequences such
as social

  • 2. Mega Events Like The Olympics And Fifa World Cup Mega Events like the Olympics and FIFA world Cup are both tremendously important and popular today. It is because there are so few, if any, other events that truly inspire international cooperation and unity like they do. If one can imagine these events as a mirrors reflecting back the organization of international politics, the mega events show a picture of incredible harmony and cooperation (Segrave, 1988). Inherent in that picture of harmony is the opportunity to spread important ideals such as equality, freedom, and democracy throughout the world. In addition global mega events like the world cup and the Olympics have become incredibly effective tools for reorganizing an economy on neoliberal grounds. The Olympics in particular has emerged as the premier event in the international community. However, for all its acclaim, the presentation of the games is drastically different from the games of old. Throughout the evolution the intentions of the games has been skewed. As a result, the modern games, as we know them portray an interesting question politically and economically. In this chapter I will discuss the evolution of the Games conceptually, in order to pose the ultimate question; Why host the Olympics? The First Games The first Games of 776 B.C. in Olympia, Greece were a time to celebrate sport and honor their religious deity. In many regards it was considered a cultural festival by which Greek regions and cities sent their finest athletes to compete in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Screwtape Letters Summary The Screwtape letters is another great work of Lewis where he uses imagination to explain the truth upside down through letters between two devils. It is like reverse psychology in a way for example if something is good in Screwtape then it is bad in reality or if something is a setback it is actually a victory in struggles against evil ( Brown 177). Lewis then talked about his idea of the devil ; he does not believe the devil is the opposite force against God, rather he says it is angels that have become bad. He goes on to explain that these demonic representations are just symbolic and these symbols of concrete reality are used in the Screwtape letters (Brown 178). The first letter is basically saying that Wormwood (the younger devil) cannot use reading and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ward Wrote There has been a dichotomy between reason and imagination ever since the Enlightenment of the 17th and 18th centuries. Reasonable people don t need imagination. Imaginative people don t need reasons (3). Then why do we believe in Lewis s collaboration of reason and imagination that makes him so successful? The answer is that reason judges between meanings that right and wrong and imagination produces these meanings (Ward 3). Lewis s works described above give an account about this especially Mere Christianity. He showed that all worldviews have some flaws but Christianity is a myth that is true. He fulfills our inner desires and baptizes our intellectual minds. Lewis s mission was to live like a disciple of Christ himself and helped make Disciples of Christ in heart and mind. He despised the idea of biblical separation and was a firm believer of Christian unity and influenced movements based on this unity in different parts of the world especially among evangelicals (Ryken 10). This is possibly, why he is so successful today among most Christians, non Christians, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Software Defined Networks Essays Abstract Software defined networking is a new concept that redefined the current network device architecture and the way they behave. Due to the exponential growth of the Internet and services attached to this worldwide infrastructure, a number of issues have cropped up in modern day networks. This paper discusses a few of these limitations and how the software defined networking approach tries to alleviate them. OpenFlow, released in the year 2008, is a commercially viable implementation of this concept that is being well received by the networking industry at large. The paper also discusses the OpenFlow protocol, its implementation and the challenges facing its widespread acceptance 1. Introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because, to implement any change to the network policies, the network engineers have to reconfigure each device individually to ensure a consistent set of access, security and QoS parameters. Further, with the evolution of Internet and enterprise data centers, the nature of data circulating on the Internet has also undergone a tremendous change. Data transfer in the form of video and audio is increasing at a tremendous pace[2]. Moreover, different sources of data (e.g. mobile, tablet PCs) have placed considerable pressure on modern networks. The current capacities of network switches do not support the transfer of these mass amounts of data. Moreover, with advent of social media, amount of data generated on websites such as Facebook and LinkedIn has reached humungous levels. As this demand for dynamic and unpredictable data grows, more and more devices have to be added to existing networks and configured accordingly. The need of the hour is to regulate networks centrally and as a whole rather than configure individual network devices and gain more control to achieve flexibility in existing networks. 3. Software Defined Networking Software defined networking is a concept born out of the need to control network devices centrally, wherein the service offered by a device is decoupled from the device in a way that ... • 5. Blade Runner And Frankenstein Comparison Creation and Consequence The idea of playing God is a strong theme throughout science fiction and portrays different effects in various works. One of the first characters to accomplish this is Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Another character of science fiction recognized to do this is Dr. Tyrell from Blade Runner. These men played God and created a new form of life, but for different reasons and different results. Victor Frankenstein played the role of God in hopes of getting rid of death and disease so no one else would know the suffering that he felt after the death of his mother. He is a learned man and became fixated on acquiring the secret of life . Finally he finds the secret, but is unhappy with his results, a foul mangled monster. As a result, Victor is enraged, guilt ridden and consumed with the lust of destroying his creation. As a result of Victors remorse and anger the monster is ridden with suffering and sadness. The Accelerated class was working on One Step and Two Step Equations. Since the lesson ended early they were able to work in groups and start on homework. Ms. Molesky informed me that in this particular class students didn t need much help because they can do everything on their own. Their homework was a maze like worksheet where each answer led them to a certain problem. • 7. Same Sex Marriage Debate Over The Free Speech Clause And... Judging from this article from Wall Street Journal, the major conflict that exists in this same sex marriage legalization debate is between the free speech clause and antidiscrimination law. Technically, the people who refused to offer their service to the homosexual people based on their religious belief were not legally wrong according to the first amendment. However, did the homosexual couples do anything wrong? No, they didn t. They ordered the same services, and they were willing to pay the same amount of money. What they wanted was nothing illegal. Then here comes the dilemma, how can neither of them be wrong in a conflict? So, this paper will analyze the rightness and the wrongness in an ethical dilemma between civil rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Kantian ethics, the standard is based on if most people are acting the same way. Even though some people are still struggling on whether they should support the LGBT community, the statistics give us a clear trend of people s change of their perspective on same sex marriage. According to the national polling data, the number of people who support the same sex marriage had risen from 37 percent in 2005 to 60 percent in 2015. Apparently, with the development of the modern society, more and more people are becoming open minded and willing to show their support to the LGBT community. Moreover, while some religious people against the same sex marriage, some of them choose to support it due to the different interpretation of the bible they are holding. Jesus never said a single word about gays or lesbians or same sex marriage, or any of the other social issues that so many people seem to be possessed with fighting today , said Ducan(n.d),a Christian. Since the number of supporting the legalization of same sex marriage has an increasing tendency, in this instance, same sex marriage can be defined morally right standing on the popular belief. For the principle of Rights, whether a business decision is defined ethical depends on how it affects the rights of stakeholders, including owners, consumers, employees, the community and the society. Did you hear that? stupid, proclaims Arthur Sylvester, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (The Governments, 1). Those that reflect a low trust for the government and businesses have conjured various theories to explain where the government has failed to inform their nation with all of the information. With the government exempting themselves from telling their citizens thetruth, America has every right not to trust them. As people of a country founded on truth and justice, the citizens should open their eyes and not be blinded by the pretentious feeling of safety that the officials are trying to portray. Conspiracy Theorists have made many different theories to prove events where reality has been distorted. While some are false, some can be educated theories and proven right. Although, few Government conspiracies have held legitimacy throughout history, some are founded on truth. Without us realizing the government s superior motive, it is easy to find times in the past when the people that hold great power would manipulate the general public. • 11. Transportation In San Francisco Transportation innovation and conditions in San Francisco were not always created easily. San Francisco s had an exceptional nightmare from a transit point of view. The obvious problem was San Francisco geographic makeup. Hills caused the early settlers to deal with the swamp like conditions. San Francisco expanded population after the Gold Rush led to better paved streets. In the 1870s Andrew S. Hallidie developed a rope and cable car technology that could drag ore and tools up hills by being pulled by horses. In 1873, the Clay Street Railroad Cable car line was established. Early cable cars were pulled by horses on rails. In the 1890s, electric street cars took over horse car services (Hartlaub, 2015). In the 19th century, railroads encouraged economic progress in California. Transportation costs were reduced, which allowed remote lands and resources to be attainable. Various markets for producers were widened, which enabled raising the land value and increased many people s earnings and income. One of the first results of the advent of the railroad was phenomenal urbanization. Oakland, a steamboat port that had been settled in the 1850s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 13. Evidence Of The Changing Roles Of Women In Women And Women evidence of the changing roles of female involvement within terrorist organisations along with increasing numbers of female Islamic terrorists (Bakkers de Leede, 2015; Lavina, 2015). Terrorist organisations traditionally maintained gendered specific roles and women predominantly provided a support type role (Bakker de Leede, 2015). This was in the form of bearing children or recruiters (Bloom, 2011). This has been evolving with instances of women actively engaging in violent Islamic terrorism (Bloom, 2011). High profile cases of home grown radicalisation of females of a British background like that of Samantha Lewthwaite and Sally Jones could be examples of a new breed of female terrorist (Bakkers de Leede, 2015; Berkowitz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is hoped that an updated and more comprehensive analysis of female radicalisation and their involvement within Islamic terrorist organisations will lead to a greater understanding of female radicalisation and extremism and subsequently the development of more effective measures to combat this phenomenon in the form of more gender specific counter terrorism strategies (Saltman Smith, 2015; Musial, 2017). Background/ Context Terrorism is not a new occurrence; it is a common feature of Northern Irish history due to the conflict of The Troubles (MI5 Secret Services, 2016; Newburn, 2013; Wright, 2010). Traditional terrorism like that of the IRA (Irish Republican Army) in Northern Ireland predominantly occurred within local geographical parameters and against specific targets, it also operated in a fairly predictable nature (Morgan, 2004, Wright, 2010). In order to deal with the threat of Northern Irish terrorism, intrusive counter terrorism measures were introduced (Mythen, 2014; Wright, 2010). These were designed to deal with domestic and localised terrorism (Morgan, 2004; Mythen, 2014; Wright, 2010). In recent years, the terrorist threat has expanded beyond local parameters (Wright, 2010). Globalisation has blurred how terrorism operates and has aided the development of a modernised terrorism (Aas, 2013). What Was The Immediate Legacy Of The Jay Spring Legacy: The immediate legacy of the Prague Spring was the dissident movement , lead by groups of mostly writers and intellectuals, which focused on overthrowing the government entirely. On January 16th, 1969, a student named Jan Palach set himself on fire in Prague to protest the censorship of free speech (Stoneman). In the weeks following his death, about half a million people lost their jobs and the Communist party purged half a million members while others resigned (BBC). Dissidents blamed the Soviets for his death and they became more motivated to create political change, so they published the Charter 77 Declaration , a charter for human rights made in 1977 (Stoneman, BBC). This document called on the government to recognize that there were violations of treaties that had guaranteed certain freedoms, such as religious confession and public expression. ... This blatant abuse can be attributed to the following possible causes: 1. The employees are not challenged. 2. The employees resent management for not listening to their ideas regarding process improvement. Clearly, the insubordination and abuse of company resources cannot be allowed to continue. Staff Mismanagement And finally, there is the issue of staff mismanagement. The supervisor, Keith Frazier, is only checking in with this department one to two times per week. Mr. Frazier is aware that Pat is making international phone calls. He is also aware that Pauline found a way for Pat to make these calls from the building s elevator once he had the phone system modified to only allow internal calls. Mr. Frazier has also been fielding complaints from the accountants about not receiving their tax schedules in a timely fashion. However, he has failed to confront either of these issues. This lack of management can be attributed to the following: 1. Mr. Frazier does not respect the type of work done by this department. 2. Mr. Frazier fears confrontation. Something must be done to allow for better management of the staff. RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS Recommendations to solve the issues in the three areas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. The Principle Of The Harm Principle John Stuart Mills famous work On Liberty is one of the most influential doctrines of the theory of liberalism. Liberalism as concluded from Mills means protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual. Liberals typically believe that government is necessary to protect individuals from being harmed by others; but they also recognise that government itself can pose a threat to liberty. In Chapter IV, Of the Limits to the Authority of Society over the Individual, Mill examined the extent to which society legitimately exercises power over the individual, he was concerned about the control of society and how much of individual life should be divided between individuality and society. Mill further explained that though society is not founded on a contract one should give back from what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mill states the only time others are warranted in interfering with the freedoms of individuals is for self protection or to prevent that individual from harming others. Contemporary examples of this logic are present in prostitution, gambling, the legalisation of recreational marijuana, alcohol, requiring lawmakers to make subjective interpretations. In my opinion, the harm principle cannot be applied to government legislation, while this principle certainly carries theoretical merit, it is also quite subjective. It will be difficult to apply generalised principles to situations that do not threaten others basic survival rights. For instance, smoking may be a repulsive habit to many, but should an individual s freedom to smoke be called into question? While second hand smoke affects others, one may argue that this is not a direct threat to survival as the way that a drunk driving is. Certainly, a contrast in the severity of harm or inconvenience that can potentially affect others by an individual s behaviour. Early Church Writings I found the early Church writings interesting, because it gave me a clearer understanding of the lattice weaving between the scriptures, catechetical manuals, witness statements, and liturgical guides working together supporting each other within the Catholic Church. After the fall of Jerusalem 70AD, the Holy Spirit was obviously present for the Jewish rabbis to meet and agree on what Old Testament books would be considered Sacred Scripture: The Law, or Torah is the first five books of the Bible, the historical books, the Prophets, and the Writings. The analogy of Faith means the harmony or coherence of the truths of Faith relative to one another and within the whole plan of Revelation. These themes are also found in the song Love Song For No One (LSFNO), written and composed by John Mayer, but optimism is replaced by pessimism. In his song, Michael Buble is clearly lonely, but his loneliness in motivating him to persevere in his life, and to find the one that will complete him. The lyric I know someday that it ll all turn out, you ll make me work, so we can work to work it out shows this. He knows that the love of his life is out there and that she is coming, and therefore his loneliness feels temporary. There is, in his mind, an end in sight. He understands that he has to be patient: I might have to wait, I ll never give up, I guess it s half timing and the other half s luck. Buble trusts that love is coming for him. He knows he won t have to be lonely for too long. The songs, I Just Haven t Met you Yet, and Love Song For No One both focus on the theme of love, and at first glance, can be perceived as very similar. But by dissecting the lyrics and looking more closely at the undertones and messages of both songs, we find that they are actually almost opposite in their approach to the mystery of love. As an ending note, John Mayer is still girlfriend less, while, as a true example of life imitating art, Michael Buble is engaged to the beautiful model who played the girl of his dreams in the video for his hit song. This approach would greatly benefit people that are already under some type of government healthcare because the government would find the best companies to work with in order to provide all types of care from a routine visit to hospice. These companies would then charge the government only for the services provided. This is where there is a big problem. Right now pricing for most of American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). This is problematic because this committee is deciding the prices rather than the actual cost of products. If this process was changed then people could use rationalization to determine that a government ran universal healthcare system would be in the best self interest.
