Monday Night Raw Film Analysis
The scene demands darker lighting and many angles. The area needs to be as three dimensional as the
characters who inhabit it. As is, we have three dimensional characters in a one dimensional space.
There is no depth to their world. The components and meanings of the image become muddled
together in a dull manner.
And this analysis doesn t even address the concept of what the backstage world is. How does it fit into
the rest of the show? How why are audiences capable of seeing it?
What role does the fourth wall play in these segments, if any?
Are the Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley characters aware of the fact that they are on camera?
If not, why?
As the camera pushes in closer on Mick s face, it makes the premise of the scene unclear. ... Show

We could credit it as the way wrestling is, but that explanation is not enough.
That s the same mediocre standard that lets people think this is all fake. The backstage area of a WWE
event, in real life, is a fascinating place. The characters alone could serve up a unique visual language.
RAW has the freedom to explore something no other sport and no other television show can. You get
to see the journey behind the curtain of Monday Night Raw while also watching it.
Viewers still don t have access to a fictional version of that world behind the curtain. Backstage
segments continue to reduce that fascinating space to a single dimension. And the characters become
subjects who may or may not be aware of their surroundings.
Going back to the scene between Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon, a lot would have to go into
reshaping it. In fact, the WWE would need to re think the fundamental approach of its visual narrative.
But that s not as severe of a creative overhaul as it sounds.
The company can make these changes without interrupting its workflow. Look at each docu series on

Lament Poem
3. Explore the ways in which the poet vividly conveys aspects of nature and society in Lament by
Gillan Clarke and the Flower fed Buffaloes by Lindsay In Lament by Gillian Clark, and The Flower
fed Buffaloes by Lindsay there is a broad theme focusing on the damage to nature done by man kind.
In Lament the poem is structured as a list of lamented people, places, and creatures hurt in the war.
Each stanza discusses a new idea based on the devastation of the world and her disapproval to war.
Throughout The Flower Fed Buffaloes , Vachel Lindsay tries by imagery to make the threat of
destruction to the natural environment critical for the reader. These images add to Lindsay s hinted at
criticism of man s destruction of nature. In Lament ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theme Of 9 Jakhoo Hill
Interplay of economy and human relationships in Gurcharan Das s 9 Jakhoo Hill constitutes the main
theme presented through the story of two migrated families of Lahore after the partition. Here
Gurcharan Das tries to explain how economy reflects in human relationships and thus constitutes the
prominent theme in 9 Jakhoo Hill. The great economic and political questions of the time, the play set
in, was to eliminate poverty through economic reforms and social changes. As happened in the
European countries after the Industrial Revolution, so is experienced in the post independent India in
terms of socio economic changes. As the consequences of the economic reforms, introduced by India

Federalism In Montana
Our United States Constitution used federalism to divide the powers to govern. Federalism was
established in the constitution supremacy clause, providing that each state in the U.S. is a sovereign
entity and has the power to create and ratify laws according to the needs of the state and make public
policy. All states have different characteristics such as demographics of its citizens, geography, natural
resources, and different types of businesses and industries. Federalism enables the courts and
legislatures in a state to act on the needs and public policy. There are advantages and disadvantages to
this form of government. The apparent advantage is the authority granted to legislatures and policy
makers to address the needs of the state because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

William Shakespeare s Sonnet 18 And 130
Shall I compare thee to a summer s day? (Line 1). My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (Line 1).
These are both two of the famous lines from William Shakespeare s sonnet 18 and 130. William
Shakespeare was an intelligent English playwright, poet, and dramatist during the late sixteenth and
early seventeenth centuries. He is known as one of the greatest playwrights of all time. Sonnet 18 and
130 are two of Shakespeare s most famous poems. Sonnet 18 is a love poem about how he compares
the woman s love to a summer s day. Sonnet 130 has a different approach. It is still a comparison, but
it seems to be a more spiteful one. These sonnets are both share similar subjects, imagery, theme, and
rhyme scheme; however they are more so different in forms and purpose. To begin with, the sonnets
both share an obvious and similar subject, which is love. The message in each poem just are delivered
in different ways. The universal Heritage Dictionary, as a set of attitudes toward love that was strong.
Sonnet 18 is what you would call your classic love poem. He is explaining how the woman s love is
compared to a summer s day. He is basically saying his love for her will never die and will always live
on. While in sonnet 130, it comes off as very spiteful and mean in the beginning. It s not your classic
love poem that one would be used to. He is pointing out all of her physical flaws by comparing them
to things. For example, in the poem he says I have seen

Love And Love In Chaucer s Troilus And Criseyde
This passage from Chaucer s Troilus and Criseyde comes from a scene towards the beginning of Book
Two where Criseyde and her uncle Pandarus are discussing love, specifically relation to Troilus s
desire for her. In these lines, the overbearing Pandarus gives a woeful Criseyde advice on what to do,
with Criseyde giving her reaction immediately after. With the format of the rhyme royal, Chaucer
creates new relationships between individual words, both in a sonic sense as well as a visual one with
the page itself. Through this, he presents the possibility of a tainted love, wrought with the pressures
from outside forces. In the first stanza, Criseyde seeks to put pressure on Pandarus s statements,
directly asking him what wolde ye devise? He recognizes the question and replies, stating Certein/
best is / That ye hym love ayeyn for his lovynge, / As love for love is skilful guerdonynge. Of
particular interest here is the rhyme between lovynge and guerdonynge, a product of the rhyme
scheme that characterizes rhyme royal. A normative conception of lovynge not subject to outside
pressures becomes intrinsically tied to the transactional guerdonynge. Considering that this statement
is coming from Pandarus, the question of intent seems to be important here. At this point in the text,
he is already actively assisting Troilus in wooing Criseyde, but in highlighting the sense of exchange,
he strips lovynge of any genuine sense, making an attempt to engender its

Missionary Work and Its Evolvement in Christianity
In the church s tradition, there are traces of missionary activity and signs of an understanding of
mission. People, guided by the Holy Spirit, have lived their lives in a way obeying the will of God and
being close to Him. They talked about their faith and the how they know God. After the persecution
period, they then have the courage to speak and, hence, they gossip the Gospel everywhere and this
gossiping is aided by the power of the Holy Spirit which they received in baptism. This implies that
through baptism, every man and woman has the responsibility to share the Goodness of Christ with or
without words. But, as time went by, others found it crucial to stay away from worldly allurements by
staying in secluded places. They were inspired to stay close to Christ and staying close to Christ is to
shun worldly things. This marks the rise of the monastic movements. However, these monastic
movements are not mere movements but are missionary activities in themselves because they portray
a particular vocation of the Church. They considered mission as moving away from the world and
have more time in praying for all people and for the church. Furthermore, this kind of missionary
activity has extended even to the lay people, but not living an ascetic life, instead, they proclaim their
mission in their day to day experience with their family e.g. a mother s role is a mission towards the
children and children towards mothers. There was a strong change in the concept of mission and

over 100 percent since the year 2000 (Rudd, 2016, p. 1323). The danger that drugs pose on nations are
obvious. There has been a long history of drugs in the United States, leading to many changes in rules
and regulations in regards to how they are handled. Furthermore, several controversial things have

Social Control Theory Essay
The social control approach to understanding crime is one of the three major sociological perspectives
in contemporary criminology. Control theorists believe that conformity to the rules of society is
produced by socialization and maintained by ties to people and institutions to family members,
friends, schools, and jobs. Put briefly, crime and delinquency result when the individual s bond to
society is weak or broken. As social bonds increase in strength, the costs of crime to the individual
increase as well.
The intellectual roots of social control theory reach back several centuries, but it was not until the
middle of the 20th century that this theory began to generate broad interest among crime researchers.
Since then, it has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It assumes further that a primary cost of crime is the disapproval of the people about whom the
potential offender cares. To the extent that the potential offender cares about no one, he or she is free
to commit the crime in question. Sociologists often explain conformity as the result of such sensitivity.
Psychologists as often explain deviation as the result of insensitivity to the concerns of others.
Together, they tell us that sensitivity is a continuum and that some people have more than others and
some have less than others. This is the position adopted by control theorists. They focus on the extent
to which people are sensitive to the opinion of others and predict that this variable will predict rates of
crime and delinquency.
Sensitivity suggests feeling or emotion, and this element of the social bond indeed attempts to capture
the emotions (or lack thereof) involved in conformity and deviance. The words are many: affection,
love, concern, care, and respect, to name only some. Social control theorists use attachment as an
abstract summary of these concepts.
The evidence is clear that family attachments are strongly correlated with (non)delinquency. In their
famous book Unraveling Juvenile Delinquency, Sheldon and Eleanor Glueck (1950) indicated that,
according to their research, affection of the father and the mother for the child were two of the best
five predictors of delinquency.

Grand Narrative Analysis
One source of support for the legitimacy of science follows from the so called grand narrative which
presents a view of science as an objective, autonomous, self regulating and self correcting process.
Jerry Francis identifies three (3) underpinnings to the legitimacy of science but then notes that
scientific misconduct does occur. Based upon these three (3) mechanisms, briefly explain how or
where the grand narrative is likely to be at least partially naïve or idealistic.
Francis (1989) identifies three structures that underpin the legitimacy of the scientific grand narrative .
However, the dichotomy between the scientist s personal goals, and collective scientific goals means
that these structures are fundamentally flawed. There are three specific instances in which the
ideology of the grand narrative is flawed by human nature.
Firstly, rewards are not just internal. The grand narrative exists in a universe where everyone doing
research is solely motivated to produce research without any pressure from anything outside of their
desire to produce high quality research. However, this is idealistic. The reality is that researchers have
multiple sources of pressure to conduct and publish beyond their desire to do so. This shifts the
dynamics of grand narrative and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Neutral Tones By Thomas Hardy Essay
How does Hardy use poetic techniques to detail changes in his relationship with his wife over time in
Neutral Tones ?
Thomas Hardy uses the variety of techniques in writing the poem, telling about how desperate his love
life being when a woman whom he loves, died. As the first stanza starts, Hardy straight away set his
time and location in the poetry into past memories. We stood by a pond that winter day Basically
everything is started with cold winter where the writer and his wife were still in touch romanticly.
Moving on to the second line, the writer put a colour of white in line of And the sun was white, as
though chidden of God However, Hardy attempt to stay in his own theme, which then he had decided
to implement his technique by making the white colour as a referenced to the sun . There are some

Impact Of The Internet On Public Sphere Essay
Despite its critics and some shortcomings early highlighted (Benson, 2009), the Habermas idea (and
an ideal, too) of a public sphere in which all individuals and opinions should have the opportunity to
democratically be engaged in community is an oft cited framework in order to better understand
media, democracy, and pluralism (Antony Thomas, 2010; García Canclini, 1992; Jurgen Habermas,
1964; Stein, 2006). In Habermas words, a well functioning public sphere implies an open
communication structures that permit and promote discussions oriented to self understanding (Jürgen
Habermas, 1994: 128). Press and newspapers were the traditional landscape in which to deploy
deliberation in the so called public sphere. Indeed, in traditional printed media, readers comments
have a delimited space and length through the editorial pages that used to explicitly contain the
community discussion, which had been also discussed in both Latin American and Chilean contexts
(Santa Cruz, 2011). However, regarding the new technologies, the impact of the Internet in news
production, and the shift in the role of audiences and content producers, audiences are no longer
restricted by largely elitist and inaccessible media systems (Antony Thomas, 2010: 1283). In fact,
technological developments such as the so called Web 2.0 challenge and complicate the vertical and
one way flow of information that characterizes traditional mediums, such printed newspapers and
broadcasting. So, recent

Anger Rumination Psychology
Anger experience is a basic emotion which predisposes sense of threat and negative appraisal (Oatley,
1992). These experiences and cognitive appraisals activate or increases anger rumination (Rusting
Nolen Hoeksema, 1998). Repetitively unavoidable thinking about anger provoking experiences has
been considered as the main characteristic of anger rumination (Sukhodolosky et al., 2001; Watkins,
2004) affects mental health indicators. Thus, it can be said that anger decreases psychological well
being and on the other hand increases psychological distress through activating and increasing anger
rumination.

Maltese Falcon as a Film Noir Essay
Maltese Falcon as a Film Noir
Film Noir is a French word which means: dark or black film. This is very fitting as Film Noir and the

left, the light on her face is very different. Her face is lit up so her whole face is visible, her eyes are
large and she looks very innocent. Light is often projected on the females faces as to make them look
vulnerable and truthful, when is this instance Bridgid is the opposite. Another example is when Spade
is being questioned by two investigators, in this scene Spade sits in the middle of them both so his
face is visible but only the back of the other two investigators. There is only one lamp in this frame

because sometimes web features are incompatible with certain browsers and operating systems. If a
significant chunk of visitors are using a system that doesn t suit the designed website, it might be time
to redesign the site framework as per the users.
EVENT TRACKING
Events are user interactions with content that can be tracked independently from a web page or a
screen load. Downloads, mobile ad clicks, gadgets, flash elements, AJAX embedded elements, and
video plays are all examples of actions that business owners might want to track as events.
This feature tracks how many visitors clicked on ads and which signup form they use to subscribe to

profile, who gets on RSS feed. Based on those percentages business owners can choose what kind of
ads to display on the sidebar, their positions, or what signup form performs best and gives more
subscribers.
CUSTOM ALERTS
Google alerts act as a kind of watchdog for anomalies in data. Google analytics alerts work to let us
know of deviations from regular data trends that occur. The main point of alerts is to notify when

The Influence Of Chivalry In Early Medieval Literature
Chivalry is a code of conduct which began in the middle ages, 449 1485. The mannerism was based
on a foundation of common morals and how to hold oneself socially then flourished into numerous
different aspects of life such as war and courtly love. Chivalry was then infiltrated into the military
and became a phenomenon among knights and how they should behave themselves in and out of war.
Chivalry and courtly love were practiced by nobility then trickled down to the working class where
they began to imitate it. Chivalry can be confused with feudalism which was (Schofield, Chivalry in
Medieval English ). However, before all of this, chivalry began in literature, not in society. Writers

They would only fight at the king s wish and only use as much power as necessary. This meant knights
were expected not to quarrel in any unruly fashion or continue fighting against an opponent once a

bravery rather than fatal one on one duels. Geoffroi De Charny s Book of Chivalry notes that knight

The Seventh Seal Analysis
The Seventh Seal follows the knight, Antonius Block, his squire Jon, his actor friends Mia, Jof and
their son Michael, as well several other members of their acting troupe. Antonius and his squire have
just returned home from the Crusades, during which Antonius had become disenchanted with life and
began to feel abandoned by God. At the beginning of the film, the knight is met on a beach by Death
in the form of a man. Believing Death has come to kill him, Antonius challenges him to a game of
chess which continues throughout the film. Along the way home, Antonius befriends several members
of an acting troupe and invites them back to his castle in an attempt to save them from the plague
ravaging the country. In their travels, they meet the Flagellants, who march through towns in a group
whipping themselves in an attempt to repent for the sins they believe brought the plague on. Jof is the
only other character able to see the chess match with Death. Antonius intentionally distracts Death so
that Jof and his family may escape. However, Antonius loses the match in the next move. In the final
scene of the movie, Jof sees Death, the knight and his followers dancing in a field.
A central theme in The Seventh Seal is the ever looming presence of death in the lives of medieval
Europeans. The characters in The Seventh Seal are all presented with the reality of their mortality as
they face the horrors of the plague spreading throughout the country. In the movie, Death is embodied

New Swipe Card System At London Heathrow Airport
As described by Palmer, Dunlap Akin, at the start of the peak holiday season, British Airways (BA)
employees at London Heathrow airport participated in a 24 hour wildcat strike due to the
implementation of a timeswipe card system that would monitor the employees clocked in and out
hours. To the executives, this change represented an improvement in technology that would increase
organizational efficiency. To the staff, however, this change represented something entirely different;
distrust and disrespect.BA executives had a history of ensuring that the organization was taken care of
at the expense of its employees. Jobs were cut, agreements were broken, and this new swipe card
system was just another example of the executives finding a way to monitor and control the staff to
the organization s economic gain. The staff feared that management would monitor their hours and
send them home during off hours and then call them back to duty at peak hours. In addition, the way
in which the change was communicated to the staff was what propelled the staff to revolt. The
executives sprung the change initiative on the staff with little warning and provided inconsistent
reasons for the necessity of the change. This made it nearly impossible for the staff to accept or adjust
to the change in a positive way.
The strike resulted in enormous losses to BA in terms of customers, employee morale, and overall
company reputation. Executives at BA did take a step back and reflect on their

Essay on slyvia plath
Sylvia Plath s quot;Mirror, quot; shows a truly thoughtful look into the different sights and feelings a
mirror would have if it were a live conscious being, unable to lie. By showing the thoughts and
emotions that a mirror would emit, Plath makes you look inward towards how you present yourself
not only to your mirror but also to yourself. This is an eye opening poem because of its truthful
descriptions of the relationship between the inner feelings of people and how their outward
appearances that they portray of themselves affect them in and out of the public realm. Examples of
this are put throughout the poem quot;Mirror, quot; and can be found in just about every line of the
poem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next section of the poem introduces a woman into the life of the mirror. She look toward the
mirror seeking to find what she truly wants to discover (beauty), and the mirror truthfully reflects back
to her what it sees. She turns from the reflection as if to look for the quot;truth quot; in something else,
not excepting what she has just seen. Unable to find it, the mirror sees her agitation and depression
after seeing her true self within it. She is always looking into the mirror to make sure everything is
perfect and to put everything in it s place, so to speak. In this the mirror, as the years seemingly pass,
sees the young girl transform from her youth into an old woman and lose all that she has fretted over
and over about throughout her life. Each day, she is reminded by the mirror of her lost youth and
beauty that was once projected back at her so faithfully.
The mirror in the poem is a representation of the truths in life that as a person is difficult to come to
terms with in one s self. The woman s view of herself and her reluctance to accept her natural and God
given beauty, shows how we all (as a society or as an individual) find it hard to accept ourselves for
who we truly are. How we try to make ourselves into a conformed object of quot;popular beauty quot;
based upon our outward appearance, instead of going by how our personal feelings that come from
within us.

Amelia Earhart s Life
Amelia Earhart s last words were heard 8:43 a.m.; these are the last documented moments of her life (
Earhart Project ). Any signs or clues as to where Earhart and her plane were located vanished the
second these words had been received, leaving the public stumped and constantly inquiring about
what exactly had become of Amelia Earhart on that day. At long last, due to new discoveries, some
light now shines upon Earhart s whereabouts. Despite popular belief, Amelia Earhart wasn t captured
by the Japanese nor was she lost at sea; in fact, the famous pilot landed on the uninhabited island of
Nikumaroro and passed away before she could be saved.

There are multitudes of other conspiracies, however, this one is evidentially proven to be true. Earhart
s plane was never submerged under water or taken away from her since she was sending Morse Code
signals for days after her planes disappearance. In addition to this, Nikumaroro was the closest island
to her destination and the island s beaches were ideal for landing. On top of this, many artifacts that
have to be Earhart s or Noonan s, her navigator, have originated from Nikumaroro. Most importantly,
they found a body matching Earhart s size and race as well on Nikumaroro. All of these findings
combined make it the highly unlikely Earhart had ended up anywhere else but on the deserted island

The Culture Of American College
Cultures vary tremendously throughout the world and within many of these cultures are sub cultures
that do not necessarily operate under the same standards for example, the culture of American college
students. Subcultures, according to Clark and Trow, represent clusters of attitudes, norms, and models
of behaviors rather than groups of people (Warren, 1968). It is hard for someone to not have any
ethnocentric bias to a culture they have not yet been part of or witnessed first hand. Transitioning from
the subculture I have grown up in my entire life, to the American college culture was a huge change.
Before attending college I did not have a strong ethnocentric bias to the college culture because I had
already known people who had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to attending WSU, I did not give much merit to the information that I received about what
college would be like unless I was being told by someone who had reliable first hand experience and
especially so if they do or had attended WSU themselves. I would always hear people saying that
WSU is a party school, and I think that is due to the fact that WSU has a lower GPA requirements than
some schools and people assume it is full of the people who were not accepted into UW. Although that
is the case for many students here, I know a great deal of students who attend WSU and were also
accepted by UW and other schools as well.
The state of Washington has its own subculture of the United States, and within the state of
Washington there are many different subcultures, both big and small (Lieske, 1993). Once you go
from eastern Washington to western Washington there is a massive change in the subculture of the
people. The culture of western Washington is more liberal than in eastern Washington where people on
average are more conservative (Lieske, 1993). As well as political views and other factors, there is a
huge separation between supporters of UW and WSU. Living on the western side of Washington I did
not know that the WSU culture and pride was so strong out here. I had thought that everyone prefers
UW because it is considered a better school and located in Seattle, but one I arrived out here I was
shocked by the pride that Cougs have. I had no

dental care, and specialized nursing care. They also do stuff like, observe animal behaviors. They take
care of animals before and after a surgery, and do x rays on the animals that are recovering. They

Analysis of the Balcony Scene in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare Love is profound and
unconditional. Love is devotional and overwhelming but as for Romeo and Juliet , they are not

aware of the risks they are taking but the feeling of love is powerful and Romeo is a romantic dreamer,
they are not afraid to fall deeply in love. The situation they find themselves in and the strength of their
love gives this scene the immense romantic appeal and fame . The scene is full of commotion,

Juliet says how her love resembles the sea. My bounty is as boundless as the sea , my love as deep ,
the more I give to thee , the more I have, for both are infinite . This statement refers to her love as
deep as the sea and the more she gives, the more she receives. The love they have for each other is
compared to as sweet as roses and birds that sing. They are all things to do with nature signifies purity
and beauty . Romeo describes Juliet as a light in darkness. It makes Juliet sound more beautiful and
shows how to Romeo, Juliet stands out from everything. But soft, what light through yonder window
breaks? It is the east , and Juliet is the sun . She is his source of light. Their love is also referred to
radiant and life giving as the sun. Shakespeare uses religious image to describe . He makes it seem
sacred, pure and holy. It transcends our human existence. Romeo calls Juliet a saint and a bright angel
. Shakespeare uses these images to show us that Romeo does not just love Juliet, he worships her. He
mentions phrases like eyes in heaven signifying her beauty , baptised when all sins are washed away
therefore one becomes holy and receives new life. The description of her as a messenger of heaven
makes her seem like she is special and as if she was god sent . All these pure and spirit that Romeo
compares her to shows how sincere and genuine he is

1984 And The Thought Police In 1984 By George Orwell
In 1949, George Orwell published his chilling take on the future in the novel, 1984. In this future,
London, along with the rest of the former British Empire and America, has become the totalitarian
super state known as Oceania, which is governed by a single Party that has absolute authority. One of
the ways the Party keeps control of its people is by use of the Thought Police, a widespread secret
police organization that monitors the people and deals with anyone who has rebellious actions, idea,or
even thoughts. Although 1984 is nothing but a work of fiction, and furthermore the Thought Police,
while reading 1984, one cannot help but draw comparisons to the real life secret police found in the
Stalinist era Soviet Union. The Stalinist era was the time from 1929 1953 when Joseph Stalin ruled
over the Soviet Union, and like in 1984, Stalin used a secret police organization to control his people,
the Narodny Kommisariat Vnutrennikh Del, which translates to the People s Commissariat for Internal
Affairs. Interestingly enough, George Orwell s novel 1984, was written during this exact time era.
Thus, it can be inferred that while creating the Thought Police for 1984, George Orwell was
influenced by the NKVD of the Stalinist era. During Stalin s reign, the Secret Police played a critical
role in enforcing Stalin s will. After Stalin came to power, one of the first things he did was to greatly
expand the size of the Secret Police. In a biography of Stalin s life, the author

Why Should College Athletes Get Paid
Year after year fans enjoy nail biting moments produced by the NCAA basketball tournament and
football season. Many would argue that the NCAA provides a product that matches up with the
professionals both competitively and financially. The only difference is that professionals get paid for
the revenue that they bring in while NCAA athletes do not. It is time for change, college athletes
should be monetarily compensated because they are the ones who have made the NCAA profitable for
many years. The idea of college athletes getting paid has been at the center of the sports world because
there are a variety of opinions surrounding this topic. Raymond G. Schneider pointed out that some

Those alone can make enough money to pay college athletes. For instance college football is a money
maker when December arrives, teams are guaranteed to see an increase in numbers because that is
when championships are settled. There are at least twenty bowl games during that month ending with
the national title game which is seen by millions around the world. The title game alone can generate
an enormous amount of revenue because of all the advertising that the NCAA does prior to the game.
When it comes to college basketball, it is basically the same thing. This sport alone generates large
amounts of money because it is a popular sport in the United States. The real money is made in the
month of March when the most anticipated college basketball tournament is played. Multiple
businesses work with the NCAA to have their commercials shown during nationally televised games,
the deals are made between them for large amounts of cash. According to an article from the NPR
website Our athletic program at the University of Miami is subsidized by the university millions of
dollars, in fact and I would argue that most of the programs in this country are in the same situation
she says ( Staff ). When all of these factors are put together it is very possible to pay college athletes
since it is proven that the NCAA and universities make millions of dollars with ease.

As graduation day came to an end and our families left, we packed our gear. Goodbyes were heartfelt,
as we all left to our new stations. A few months later I was settled into a new home. I lived in Fort
Huachuca, Arizona. I was finally free from any purchase supervision and able to buy what fantasized
about back in basic training. The mall was mine.
Roaming the mall I was stopped by an older man with a crew cut hairstyle. His name was Mike and
his words flowed out like a commander. He asked me about myself and what brought me to the mall.
With great excitement, I told him my tail and in return, he told me his. He lured me into a state of
security by letting me know he used to be in the Army and commanded many soldiers like me. He told
me he loved his new job because he helped a lot of the new soldiers furnish their empty spaces. He
reminded me how little teenage soldiers knew about financial responsibility.
Mike asked me to pick out all the items I could afford that day, so I did. I had picked out an Xbox 360
and a small 32 TV. Mike nodded his head and asked me what I wanted, well the list grew long. He
priced out everything I wanted and it came out to approximately $2,500. I scoffed because the price
was outstanding and would leave me broke. He then led me through a new plan that would allow me
to take everything I wanted and pay nothing up front. In disbelief, I asked how. He explained that if I

  • 2. Monday Night Raw Film Analysis The scene demands darker lighting and many angles. The area needs to be as three dimensional as the characters who inhabit it. As is, we have three dimensional characters in a one dimensional space. There is no depth to their world. The components and meanings of the image become muddled together in a dull manner. And this analysis doesn t even address the concept of what the backstage world is. How does it fit into the rest of the show? How why are audiences capable of seeing it? What role does the fourth wall play in these segments, if any? Are the Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley characters aware of the fact that they are on camera? If not, why? As the camera pushes in closer on Mick s face, it makes the premise of the scene unclear. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We could credit it as the way wrestling is, but that explanation is not enough. That s the same mediocre standard that lets people think this is all fake. The backstage area of a WWE event, in real life, is a fascinating place. The characters alone could serve up a unique visual language. RAW has the freedom to explore something no other sport and no other television show can. You get to see the journey behind the curtain of Monday Night Raw while also watching it. Viewers still don t have access to a fictional version of that world behind the curtain. Backstage segments continue to reduce that fascinating space to a single dimension. And the characters become subjects who may or may not be aware of their surroundings. Going back to the scene between Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon, a lot would have to go into reshaping it. In fact, the WWE would need to re think the fundamental approach of its visual narrative. But that s not as severe of a creative overhaul as it sounds. The company can make these changes without interrupting its workflow. Look at each docu series on the WWE Network and exclusive behind the scenes videos on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lament Poem 3. Explore the ways in which the poet vividly conveys aspects of nature and society in Lament by Gillan Clarke and the Flower fed Buffaloes by Lindsay In Lament by Gillian Clark, and The Flower fed Buffaloes by Lindsay there is a broad theme focusing on the damage to nature done by man kind. In Lament the poem is structured as a list of lamented people, places, and creatures hurt in the war. Each stanza discusses a new idea based on the devastation of the world and her disapproval to war. Throughout The Flower Fed Buffaloes , Vachel Lindsay tries by imagery to make the threat of destruction to the natural environment critical for the reader. These images add to Lindsay s hinted at criticism of man s destruction of nature. In Lament ... • 7. William Shakespeare s Sonnet 18 And 130 Shall I compare thee to a summer s day? (Line 1). My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (Line 1). These are both two of the famous lines from William Shakespeare s sonnet 18 and 130. William Shakespeare was an intelligent English playwright, poet, and dramatist during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. He is known as one of the greatest playwrights of all time. Sonnet 18 and 130 are two of Shakespeare s most famous poems. Sonnet 18 is a love poem about how he compares the woman s love to a summer s day. Sonnet 130 has a different approach. It is still a comparison, but it seems to be a more spiteful one. These sonnets are both share similar subjects, imagery, theme, and rhyme scheme; however they are more so different in forms and purpose. To begin with, the sonnets both share an obvious and similar subject, which is love. The message in each poem just are delivered in different ways. The universal Heritage Dictionary, as a set of attitudes toward love that was strong. Sonnet 18 is what you would call your classic love poem. He is explaining how the woman s love is compared to a summer s day. He is basically saying his love for her will never die and will always live on. While in sonnet 130, it comes off as very spiteful and mean in the beginning. It s not your classic love poem that one would be used to. • 8. Love And Love In Chaucer s Troilus And Criseyde This passage from Chaucer s Troilus and Criseyde comes from a scene towards the beginning of Book Two where Criseyde and her uncle Pandarus are discussing love, specifically relation to Troilus s desire for her. In these lines, the overbearing Pandarus gives a woeful Criseyde advice on what to do, with Criseyde giving her reaction immediately after. With the format of the rhyme royal, Chaucer creates new relationships between individual words, both in a sonic sense as well as a visual one with the page itself. Through this, he presents the possibility of a tainted love, wrought with the pressures from outside forces. In the first stanza, Criseyde seeks to put pressure on Pandarus s statements, directly asking him what wolde ye devise? He recognizes the question and replies, stating Certein/ best is / That ye hym love ayeyn for his lovynge, / As love for love is skilful guerdonynge. Of particular interest here is the rhyme between lovynge and guerdonynge, a product of the rhyme scheme that characterizes rhyme royal. A normative conception of lovynge not subject to outside pressures becomes intrinsically tied to the transactional guerdonynge. Considering that this statement is coming from Pandarus, the question of intent seems to be important here. At this point in the text, he is already actively assisting Troilus in wooing Criseyde, but in highlighting the sense of exchange, he strips lovynge of any genuine sense, making an attempt to engender its ... • 9. Missionary Work and Its Evolvement in Christianity In the church s tradition, there are traces of missionary activity and signs of an understanding of mission. People, guided by the Holy Spirit, have lived their lives in a way obeying the will of God and being close to Him. They talked about their faith and the how they know God. After the persecution period, they then have the courage to speak and, hence, they gossip the Gospel everywhere and this gossiping is aided by the power of the Holy Spirit which they received in baptism. This implies that through baptism, every man and woman has the responsibility to share the Goodness of Christ with or without words. But, as time went by, others found it crucial to stay away from worldly allurements by staying in secluded places. They were inspired to stay close to Christ and staying close to Christ is to shun worldly things. This marks the rise of the monastic movements. However, these monastic movements are not mere movements but are missionary activities in themselves because they portray a particular vocation of the Church. They considered mission as moving away from the world and have more time in praying for all people and for the church. Furthermore, this kind of missionary activity has extended even to the lay people, but not living an ascetic life, instead, they proclaim their mission in their day to day experience with their family e.g. a mother s role is a mission towards the children and children towards mothers. There was a strong change in the concept of mission and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Social Control Theory Essay The social control approach to understanding crime is one of the three major sociological perspectives in contemporary criminology. Control theorists believe that conformity to the rules of society is produced by socialization and maintained by ties to people and institutions to family members, friends, schools, and jobs. Put briefly, crime and delinquency result when the individual s bond to society is weak or broken. As social bonds increase in strength, the costs of crime to the individual increase as well. The intellectual roots of social control theory reach back several centuries, but it was not until the middle of the 20th century that this theory began to generate broad interest among crime researchers. Since then, it has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It assumes further that a primary cost of crime is the disapproval of the people about whom the potential offender cares. To the extent that the potential offender cares about no one, he or she is free to commit the crime in question. Sociologists often explain conformity as the result of such sensitivity. Psychologists as often explain deviation as the result of insensitivity to the concerns of others. Together, they tell us that sensitivity is a continuum and that some people have more than others and some have less than others. This is the position adopted by control theorists. They focus on the extent to which people are sensitive to the opinion of others and predict that this variable will predict rates of crime and delinquency. Sensitivity suggests feeling or emotion, and this element of the social bond indeed attempts to capture the emotions (or lack thereof) involved in conformity and deviance. The words are many: affection, love, concern, care, and respect, to name only some. Social control theorists use attachment as an abstract summary of these concepts. The evidence is clear that family attachments are strongly correlated with (non)delinquency. In their famous book Unraveling Juvenile Delinquency, Sheldon and Eleanor Glueck (1950) indicated that, according to their research, affection of the father and the mother for the child were two of the best five predictors of delinquency. ... Grand Narrative Analysis One source of support for the legitimacy of science follows from the so called grand narrative which presents a view of science as an objective, autonomous, self regulating and self correcting process. Jerry Francis identifies three (3) underpinnings to the legitimacy of science but then notes that scientific misconduct does occur. Based upon these three (3) mechanisms, briefly explain how or where the grand narrative is likely to be at least partially naïve or idealistic. Francis (1989) identifies three structures that underpin the legitimacy of the scientific grand narrative . However, the dichotomy between the scientist s personal goals, and collective scientific goals means that these structures are fundamentally flawed. There are three specific instances in which the ideology of the grand narrative is flawed by human nature. Firstly, rewards are not just internal. The grand narrative exists in a universe where everyone doing research is solely motivated to produce research without any pressure from anything outside of their desire to produce high quality research. However, this is idealistic. The reality is that researchers have multiple sources of pressure to conduct and publish beyond their desire to do so. This shifts the dynamics of grand narrative and ... Impact Of The Internet On Public Sphere Essay Despite its critics and some shortcomings early highlighted (Benson, 2009), the Habermas idea (and an ideal, too) of a public sphere in which all individuals and opinions should have the opportunity to democratically be engaged in community is an oft cited framework in order to better understand media, democracy, and pluralism (Antony Thomas, 2010; García Canclini, 1992; Jurgen Habermas, 1964; Stein, 2006). In Habermas words, a well functioning public sphere implies an open communication structures that permit and promote discussions oriented to self understanding (Jürgen Habermas, 1994: 128). Press and newspapers were the traditional landscape in which to deploy deliberation in the so called public sphere. Indeed, in traditional printed media, readers comments have a delimited space and length through the editorial pages that used to explicitly contain the community discussion, which had been also discussed in both Latin American and Chilean contexts (Santa Cruz, 2011). However, regarding the new technologies, the impact of the Internet in news production, and the shift in the role of audiences and content producers, audiences are no longer restricted by largely elitist and inaccessible media systems (Antony Thomas, 2010: 1283). To the executives, this change represented an improvement in technology that would increase organizational efficiency. One of the ways the Party keeps control of its people is by use of the Thought Police, a widespread secret police organization that monitors the people and deals with anyone who has rebellious actions, idea,or even thoughts. Although 1984 is nothing but a work of fiction, and furthermore the Thought Police, while reading 1984, one cannot help but draw comparisons to the real life secret police found in the Stalinist era Soviet Union. The Stalinist era was the time from 1929 1953 when Joseph Stalin ruled over the Soviet Union, and like in 1984, Stalin used a secret police organization to control his people, the Narodny Kommisariat Vnutrennikh Del, which translates to the People s Commissariat for Internal Affairs. Interestingly enough, George Orwell s novel 1984, was written during this exact time era. Thus, it can be inferred that while creating the Thought Police for 1984, George Orwell was influenced by the NKVD of the Stalinist era. During Stalin s reign, the Secret Police played a critical role in enforcing Stalin s will. After Stalin came to power, one of the first things he did was to greatly expand the size of the Secret Police. In a biography of Stalin s life, the author ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As graduation day came to an end and our families left, we packed our gear. Goodbyes were heartfelt, as we all left to our new stations. A few months later I was settled into a new home. I lived in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. I was finally free from any purchase supervision and able to buy what fantasized about back in basic training. The mall was mine. Roaming the mall I was stopped by an older man with a crew cut hairstyle. His name was Mike and his words flowed out like a commander. He asked me about myself and what brought me to the mall. With great excitement, I told him my tail and in return, he told me his. He lured me into a state of security by letting me know he used to be in the Army and commanded many soldiers like me. He told me he loved his new job because he helped a lot of the new soldiers furnish their empty spaces. He reminded me how little teenage soldiers knew about financial responsibility. Mike asked me to pick out all the items I could afford that day, so I did. I had picked out an Xbox 360 and a small 32 TV. Mike nodded his head and asked me what I wanted, well the list grew long.
