Jon Favreau s Marketing Techniques In The Jungle Books
You may be that generation that read the book or saw the old Disney classic. If you wanted to
experience nostalgia then this movie doesn t need any introduction. But for the new generation, it s
a marketing nightmare for the company.
All of this, honestly, is one big magic trick, says Director Jon Favreau, according to Yahoo. That s
exactly what it took in order to market the Disney classic The Jungle Book. New York Times has it
that the movie garnered an outstanding $103.6 million in the United States alone, during its
opening weekend.
While the studio was happy to discuss the success, they were hesitant to talk about their marketing
strategies. Here are some marketing tricks that can be useful for creatives, advertisers and marketing

Which is why Disney couldn t rely on trailers alone. Disney channeled their efforts through bloggers
and entertainment news sites to make it a point that the film used sophisticated film making
techniques to create the animal characters. Stars are another way to make adults pay attention. To
elevate The Jungle Book in the minds of grown ups, Disney circulated dramatic photographs that
paired voice actors with their onscreen characters Idris Elba with the tiger Shere Khan, Ben
Kingsley with the panther Bagheera, Lupita Nyong o with the wolf Raksha.
Men and Boys, Boys and Men Girls and women are more drawn to the Disney s classic castle

Jungle Book was attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which had an audience that was 58
percent male.
Reaching Out in Spanish Studio marketers have learned that Hispanic moviegoers tend to buy
tickets in particularly large groups; if you hook one family member, you can get an exponential
result. To achieve that goal, Disney teamed with Univision for a five week stunt that brought
Jungle Book characters and clips to telenovelas, talk shows and sports coverage. Disney even built
a tool to allow Univision personalities to appear in

In the study of micro biology, there are several kinds of pathogens that can be observed in the
human body. They individually can pose a risk ranging from totally harmless, to life threatening,
depending on the pathogen. There are types of bacteria, virus, and even fungus that can cause a
wide range of problems for the human body. But there is one type of pathogen that is just as
elusive as it is dangerous a pathogen that is rarely discovered in the human body, yet when it is,
doctors are at a loss as to what can be done to stop it. It is called a Prion.
A prion is a protein with a three dimensional shape, as opposed to standard proteins. When a prion
comes into contact with another protein, that protein transforms into another prion. ... Show more

However, there is also an opposing theory that suggests that the disease is caused by a virus, and
that the prion is merely a byproduct of the viral activity. When the disease is present within a cow,
it causes the brain to become riddled with holes that go all the way through the brain. Symptoms
manifest in strange behaviors, such as pathological nervousness and increased aggression.
The disease itself made headlines when it an epidemic hit Europe in the 1980s. The outbreak of
BSE, or mad cow disease , was amplified by the practice of feeding cows the meat products of
their own species. If a mad cow s brain matter was in the feeding cow s food, that cow could
contract the disease. The event became a widespread health hazard after a link between BSE and
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease was established, indicating that humans could also contract the disease by
ingesting the brain matter of cows. The epidemic was dealt with by changing the feeding practices
the European meat industry used to feed their cows.
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease is the variant of spongiform encephalopathy that infects humans. It can be
contracted from eating the contaminated brain matter of cows. Contraction of the disease is
specific to the brain matter consuming only muscle tissue from a steak poses no risk of
contamination. The disease targets the brain, and the patient will suffer

talks about how rescuing Jim is too easy, since his uncle trusts everyone on his farm. He tells
Huck that there is more honor in having more difficulties, so he wants to add them himself.
Huck is surprised to hear this and questions Tom. Tom then talks about what else they will need
on their escape. He wants to do everything the harder way. After talking, Tom decides that Jim
should cut off his leg to escape, because that how people in the book did it. Huck refuses to listen

SPA On A Nacl And H2O Solution With Varying
The Effect SPA on a NaCl and H2O Solution with Varying Amounts of NaCl Ranging From 0.50g
0.62g Sodium Polyacrylate (SPA) is an absorbent. If poured into the right amount H2O, the SPA
will absorb the H2O to the point where, if tipped upside down, the solution will hold. What will
happen if this reaction is disrupted by a compound such as table salt (NaCl)? Physical properties of
SPA include the fact that it is a white solid and that it is insoluble. Chemical properties of SPA
include the fact that it has a pH value of 5.5 6.6 (1% in H2O)1, meaning that SPA is slightly acidic.
Pure H2O has a pH of 7, or neutral (neither acidic nor basic)2. The pH indicates the concentration
of H+ and OH ions in H2O3. SPA is reactive with H2O because the H2O is polar, so the farther
away the electrons are, H is more positive and O is more negative. A substance, such as NaCl,
would affect the SPA s ability to absorb H2O because it attracts the positive and negative ions in the
H2O to itself and pulls them away from the SPA. The Cl attracts the H+ ions and the Na+ ions are
drawn to the O ions. The purpose of this experiment is to see how NaCl affects the absorbency of
SPA in H2O. If NaCl is added to H2O then SPA will be less effective in absorbing the H2O because
NaCl pulls apart the bonds between the SPA and the H2O. The experiment begins with massing
2.0g of SPA in a weighboat. In a separate weighboat, mass 0.50g of NaCl. Then, fill a 200ml beaker
with 175ml (175g) of tap H2O.

Terrestrial Human Body
Earthsicknesss: Circumnavigation and the Terrestrial Human Body by Joyce E. Chaplin and Fear
of Hot Climates in the Anglo American Colonial Experience by Karen Kupperman both provide
great insight on specific cases in which European exploration and colonization lead to drastic
changes in timely practices related to health, diet, and daily life. In her piece, Chaplin explicitly
discusses the issue of scurvy in relation to circumnavigation, ranging from the 1500s to the
beginning of the 1800s, with the assistance of direct accounts, narratives, medical statistics, and
European literature. Generally, throughout the 3 centuries, sailors and captains believed that scurvy
(also known as sea sickness) could be cured solely through direct contact... Show more content on

Kupperman begins her article with a summary of standard body humor belief, while criticising the
European belief that uncommon climates drastically affected their health. Nevertheless, once
colonization of the West Indies and the Americas began, Europeans quickly realized the benefits of
warmer climates, such as increases in crop production, harvest, and variety. Negatives were also
analyzed as weeds ran rampant and working hours were compromised around the hottest parts of
the day. Adaptation and acclimation were central components of new colonization lifestyle, which
included altering physiology through trained sweating and diet, wearing lighter and informal
articles of clothing, and building homes in different locations and out if different materials.
Colonists generally learned their survival skills from natives, who offered their own remedies to
medical conditions such as heat stroke and yellow fever, which colonists quickly adapted as the
diseases of the West Indies seemingly contrasted from those of Europe. Although Europeans
originally denied their possible success and survival in the New World, many found that immense
production accompanied the climate change, which was worth the health risks and lifestyle

Comparing Colonialism and Imperialism in Heart of...
Imperialism in Heart of Darkness and Kipling s Poetry
Imperialism sprung from an altruistic and unselfish aim to take up the white man s burden 1 and
wean [the] ignorant millions from their horrid ways. 2 These two citations are, of course, from
Kipling s White Man s Burden and Conrad s Heart of Darkness, respectively, and they splendidly
encompass what British and European imperialism was about at least seen from the late nineteenth
century point of view. This essay seeks to explore the comparisons and contrasts between Conrad s
and Kipling s view of imperialism in, respectively, Heart of Darkness and White Man s Burden and
Recessional.
In a historical context, the two texts differ greatly: Heart of ... Show more content on

This was the occasion for which Recessional had been written, and it celebrated a vast empire
that had dominion over palm and pine, and a far flung battle line. The poem speaks of lesser
breeds without the Law, and it is this law that if, drunk with sight of power, must not be forgotten.
It is a prayer for the eternal altruistic mission that the white man had been destined for, as well as a
hopeful prayer that England should not decline:
Far called, our navies melt away
On dune and headland sinks the fire
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
Judge of the Nations, spare us yet,
Lest we forget lest we forget!4
The call to extend the Law continues in Kipling s poem The White Man s Burden. However, such
an extension calls for a definition of a white man. By this term, Kipling refers not only to those
with white skin colour. Charles Carrington points out in his biography5 that in the late 19th century
white people included all men with the moral standards of the civilised world. Carrington
convincingly cites Kipling s own poem Gunga Din about an Indian water carrier, in which Gunga
Din is the finest man I knew . I have elaborated upon Carrington s example:
[When] a servin of Er Majesty the Queen,
Of all them black faced I

Grudges, feuds and revenge also have the result of making others have a view of
discouragement and a gloomy outlook on events. In the short story, The Interlopers by Saki,
two characters Ulrich and Georg have been feuding for a long time over the agreement of a plot
of land that past generation families have owned. During a treacherous storm, both men get
crushed under an immense tree. Saki states Both men spoke with bitterness of possible defeat

it was a bare matter of chance which party would arrive first on the scene. (Saki, 85) Here, Saki is

What Is David Hasselhoff Ever Done
David Hasselhoff is one of the most known faces throughout the world for his performance in
countless movies over the years. Hasselhoff is most well known from His show Baywatch . He
has also starred in Click, Dodge ball, and Fugitives Run to name a few (imdb.com). But, for those
who do not know, Hasselhoff was also a singer. This week I decided to do my listening log on
Hasselhoff s live performance at the Berlin Wall in 1989. I chose this because it is iconic.
Hasselhoff s singing performance at the Berlin Wall is definitely the most significant song
performance he had ever done. David Hasselhoff s performance at the Berlin Wall is on video on
youtube.com, this is where I watched it. For his performance he sang one of his recorded songs
looking for freedom on New Year s eve 1989, just weeks after the wall started being tore down

the event. He played the part well, being over joyed and enthusiastic as most everyone there in the

A few weeks later, a German version of the song came out and was performed by Tony Marshall.
Both versions were recorded at Hansa Studio 2 in Berlin (wikipedia.org). so that makes three
versions of the same song, but hands down Hasselhoff s version was undoubtedly the most
significant historically. The song is very upbeat all throughout. Hasselhoff is the leading voice in
the song, but you can hear what sounds like a choir joining in with Him at different parts of the
song. This song gets you motivated as it repeats the same few words, I ve been looking for
freedom. Each time Hasseloff says these words, they come out just as heartfelt and passionate as
when he started the song. He was the right choice for this song and moment because of His strong

Benefits Of Higher Education
A higher education can help with people s emotional state and the health of that person. There is
also the case that you don t have to be in college for that long to start working and gain a high
paying wage. And. beyond money, education seems to make people happier and healthier
(D). Not only does seeking a higher education gets you a higher paying wage it also makes you a
happier person. This could work by the interaction with fellow students on the campus and more
knowledge than the average human. Money isn t the only reason why people are happier after
college it is also that getting that higher education helps boost their confidence about themselves.

When gaining a higher education the wage is actually going down not up. On the graph it shows
that from 2001 to 2010 the wage difference is slowly declining(Source C). The graph is showing
that when looking at how much a college graduates makes after college it isn t as much as it use
to be. There isn t going to be a substantial wage growth for the new college graduates. A higher
education may not be what everyone thinks it is, being a source to making more money when you
get out of high school. When the wages are going down for the college graduates, then it becomes
apparent how expensive college really is. College cost is exceedingly high as of right now and
may become higher as time goes by. Both cost and demand for college education have grown
significantly in the years since Mr. Thiel was a student. He sees that rise as irrational (E).
College is starting to become more expensive and it doesn t make sense that it is according to
Mr. Thiel. There is no way to see if it will get higher, but if it does then is college really worth the
price. The price of college is going up and the wage for new college graduates is starting to
decrease. People are starting to realize this and just want to start making money to support a
family as soon as they can. Two thirds say a major reason for not continuing their education is the
need to support a family. Also 57 percent say they would prefer to work

Informative Essay On Sphynx Cats
If you ve ever looked at cat videos online, chances are you have seen ones with cats that have no
hair. They may bear a resemblance to aliens, but they are real cats, referred to as the Sphynx.
Though some people are put off by the appearance of this breed, others are intrigued and find them
endearing. If you are part of the second group, you might be interested in owning a Sphynx catfor
yourself and what is involved in buying and owning one. The truth is that there is no universal
yes or no answer for whether the Sphynx is the appropriate cat to own, as it largely depends on
the owner s specific needs and abilities. To know if the Sphynx is the right cat for you, many
aspects must be looked into.

In contrast to the introverted personalities of other cats, Sphynxes crave attention, and tend to be
friendlier around strangers. They are often compared to dogs for this reason. If you have a
Sphynx, especially a young one, expect it to be very hyperactive, running and jumping all over
the place. This is a high energy cat which can perform acrobatic tricks, much like a monkey.
(PetMD) These cats have boundless energy, so much time should be allotted to playing with
them so they do not become bored and stressed. They are also very curious and exploratory,
making sure to inspect just about anything they can find. Safety measures should be taken for
items that your cat could easily open or ingest. Sphynx cats are generally more affectionate with
their owners, and can be very emotionally dependent on them too. Sphynx cats can get stressed
easily, and are prone to separation anxiety. PetHelpful states, If you are leaving the house for
long periods of time, your Sphynx s heart is going to break. Unless you have a companion for it,
it is going to become depressed. (PetHelpful) It is not recommended to spend a long time away
from your Sphynx, even if you hire a petsitter to feed it, as it craves the physical affection of its
owners. The upside to dealing with this potential issue is that you would end up with a very loyal
cat, who will provide much love and affection, that for many people it is worth all the trouble

Hester Prynne
D.H. Lawrence, an English novelist and literary critic, pens his essay On the Scarlet Letter
critiquing the novel The Scarlet Letter and its portrayal of American society. Lawrence argues that
Hester Prynne, the novel s protagonist, is not a victim, but rather, the product of evil and sin in
American society. D.H. Lawrence is effective in portraying his harsh perception on Hester Prynne
by the use of clever diction, thoughtful allusions, and choppy syntax. The clever diction utilized
by Lawrence in his essay aid in achieving his purpose as a writer. D.H. Lawrence begins his
critique by introducing his cynical perspective that the greatest triumph a woman can have,
especially an American woman is seducing a man, especially if he is pure (Lawrence). This
hyperbole helps to better communicate Lawrence s view of Prynne throughout his analysis of her
character. By making such a controversial and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawrence s selection of choppy syntax communicates his stance on Hester Prynne. Through concise
alliteration, such as Adulteress! The great Alpha. Alpha! Adulteress! The new Adam and Adama!
American! , Lawrence demonstrate that Hester is not a worthy woman, but rather a poison to the
society she surrounds herself with (Lawrence). The repetition of referencing Hester as an
adulteress emphasizes the consequences of her sinful actions, which Lawrence wants to highlight
for the reader. Additionally, describing Prynne as the alpha , and Adama connects her back to Eve
in the Garden of Eden, who was the first human being to sin. In short, Lawrence wants to expand
on the presence of Hester s sin and its grip on her life. D.H. Lawrence continues this broken syntax
as he writes, Flop. Flop goes spiritual love (Lawrence). This onomatopoeia is a distinct contrast with
the previous passage that Lawrence writes which is lengthy and substantive. Prynne s choppy,
shortsighted, sinful path becomes the trajectory for which Lawrence parallels in his writing

The Negative Impacts Of Plastic Uses And Plastics
A Cuvier s beaked whale was put down after finding four kilograms of plastic bags in every part
of its stomach. The internal damage caused by the bags included an inflamed stomach and
intestinal walls ( Plastic Bags Found ). Tragically, this is not the only story of plastic bags
harming wildlife. Another story like this occurred less than two months later. Wildlife is suffering
daily because plastic bags are interfering with their habitat. Because they are harmful to the
environment, plastic bags should be banned. Plastic bags cannot be recycled, so they end up
decomposing in landfills for hundreds of years. A great alternative is reusable bags that can also be
recycled. The plastic bags single use does not outweigh the negative impact that they have on the
environment and wildlife.
Every year, Americans use 70 to 100 million plastic bags according to Patricia Smith. To put it
into perspective, each family in America uses an average of 1,700 plastic bags a year. Each of
these plastic bags is used once, and then unfortunately, tossed into the trash. From the trash, the
plastic bags eventually end up in a landfill, where it takes hundreds of years to decompose.
Otherwise, plastic bags end up as litter. Littered plastic bags are everywhere, from corn fields to
the ocean. Animals all over the world often mistake these plastic bags as food. They consume the
bags and die from complications as a result. Recycling plastic bags is not an option either. Plastic

Arguments Against Birth Order
For almost half a century, birth order has been viewed as key in determining individual personality
traits. Psychologists such as Alton Adler and Francis Galton spearheaded research on this topic,
and their conclusions are cited as references for those who support the idea. There recently have
been studies conducted that strive to overturn this theory by showing how different variables can
affect the results of our development. (Beck) There are those who stand by early research and
support distinct groups of characteristics only being exhibited by people sharing a certain birth order
. There are others; however, who oppose this idea and instead favor growth as an individual
experience not limited by expectations. With two very different approaches to this matter, the
question remains,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are factors to consider regarding personality such as family environment, genetics, cultural
background, and financial disposition. These factors were not included in the primary research
of both Alton Adler and Francis Galton. (Beck) Since there were no control factors placed in the
early research, the findings can be viewed as biased by some since they only represented a small
percentage of the population. One author, Julie Beck, took notice of how low insight was given to
such a broad claim. She states, The idea that birth order determines siblings personality and
intelligence remains entrenched in society, even as modern scientific findings on the matter have
historically been inconsistent (Beck). Those who are against the birth order theory claim these
inconsistencies occur because the idea is being presented as fact on a scale larger than its original
base. Opposers to this theory agree that for this claim to hold more validity, there would have to be
more evidence given than what was presented in the original

Theodore Kaczynski Terrorism
Theodore Kaczynski is the name of a man who aspired to be the perfect, anonymous killer in the
United States. In 1978, he sent his first homemade bomb to a university in Chicago. He mailed or
hand delivered a series of bombs over the next 17 years. The homemade bombs became more and
more sophisticated over time, eventually killing three Americans and injuring 24 more. This lone
wolf terrorist sowed fear and panic and even threatened to blow up airliners in flight. Thirty seven
years later, the threat still remains. Until America shifts its focus to identifying the nature of
terrorism and terrorist activities and not on identifying the suspect, the United Statesterrorist threat
will remain HIGH.
Many Americans do not understand the implication and role of terrorism in the modern world.
Terrorism is not a something that can be measured or held in hand. It is a theoretical idea that has

Overcoming Obstacles In Rocky Balboa s Life
The movie Rocky is based on a boxer who has overcome tough times in his life but works for
everything he has and loves. Sylvester Stallone wrote and produced every Rocky movie and
also played the main character in the films. In almost every Rocky movie, Rocky Balboa faces a
big opponent in the ring. Balboa must train hard and overcome the situation and challenges
before the fight. Balboa then steps in the ring and gives his all for the win. Rocky has inspired
me to never give up and fight for the dreams you set your mind to. Balboa has a different system
of training for each fighter in the movies. In each fight he must study the opponent and attain the
skills necessary to dominate the fight. Throughout training he faces obstacles of doubt and
uncertainty on how he could possibly overcome such an opponent. After being broken down to
the feeling he could never train enough to win this fight he finds his moment that lifts him up and
gives him the determination to overcome. As in life, many of us will face scary challenges that
we may doubt and be scared. But, like balboa we find our path and step up to the plate. We study
how to better ourselves and prevail the challenge we face. Our minds take us to a place that we feel
we could never return from, and we must trust in the process and grasp the moment to punch
through it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Educational Journey
My life decisions so far is based on my journey for best education. It has shaped my career path,
my choices and my home. Essentially, I can liken my education, to a metamorphosis process.
My belief on education is passed down from my parents, but we all share the same value of
education; it is the key to attaining a successful position in our career. So, whenever my
education proved unsatisfactory, we gambled our chances and moved schools every two years
within Dubai. When we received a chance to move to the U.S., my parents took the chance and
moved here during my sophomore year. The move accompanied many challenges like adapting
to the new syllabus, foundation contexts of each courses, and fitting in to new environments.
However, none of these phased me negatively as I have continued to survive and adapt with my
peers, disregarding the disadvantages I had to face along the changes introduced in my life.
Now why did I bring metamorphosis into this? Because metamorphosis is a sudden physical and
cellular change that takes place in an animal. In my case, I would compare myself to a butterfly
who goes through these changes independently to strive for the best education. The four steps of
metamorphosis: egg, larvae, chrysalis and adult can be condensed and applied to my life. For
instance, every time I was laid in a new environment, I hatched and fed myself the education,
disregarding however challenging it was. As I grew older, education became more perplexing and

Taking a Look at Thermal Cracking
Thermal Cracking:
The simple distillation of crude oil produces various types of products and some of them (heavy
distillates) are not very much useful as a fuel when compared to light distillates. So there is a need
for subsequent conversion of heavy distillates to light distillates. This can be obtained by altering
the molecular structure of hydrocarbons in heavy distillates. One of the ways of accomplishing this
change is by Cracking , a process that breaks the high boiling point petroleum fractions into more
useful products like gasoline, fuel oil, gas oils. Thermal Cracking is the process of converting high
boiling point petroleum fractions to more useful products using high temperature to heat them up
and this high temperature gives them sufficient heat energy to crack.
The first thermal cracking method, the Shukhov cracking process, was invented by Russian
engineer Vladimir Shukhov, in the Russian empire, Patent No. 12926, November 27, 1891and the
first thermal cracking process was developed around 1913. In thermal cracking heavy oils are
heated in large drums under pressure to crack them into small molecules which have good anti
knocking properties but this process lead high coke formation. Thermal cracking of hydrocarbons
follows free radical mechanism. Free radical mechanism has three steps Initiation, propagation, and
termination. Cracking happens in the initiation step and the termination step leads to formation of
coke. This process of thermal cracking evolved

Summary Of The Song Landslide
Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac, is written to show how the removal of a loved one can impact
someone s life negatively or positively. The theme of the song can be found in several lyric such
as, Well, I ve been afraid of changin, cause I ve built my life around you (Fleetwood Mac). It is
said that if a couple thinks that their relationship is not going to work out, it can tumble over at
any time. The effects of shouting out and going for help may seem like a good idea, but it will
just bring down the avalanche right on top of the situation and collapse everything in. In Perks
of Being a Wallflower, Charlie experiences a loss of a close friend (Michael) to a suicide. Charlie
has the idea of coping with this death by writing in letters to his unnamed friend and this is a

This song represents the feeling of emptiness throughout life. Through all of Kurt Cobain s life, it

(Nirvana). It is said that these lyrics show the security and satisfaction after shooting up with
heroin. The idea of drugs and sex is messed up but nothing can entertain a group of young teens.
People are trying to introduce this idea of heroin as an idea that is better than sex, which is almost

Use Of Narrative Elements In Gothic Films
Narrative Elements in Gothic Films.
Narrative elements are more effective at portraying gothic conventions in films. Narrative elements
are the components that makes up a story while Gothic conventions are what makes a film gothic,
They explore the boundaries between humans and the supernatural, good and evil and our social
values. Key features in gothic films are supernatural themes, death, darkness, decay, murder and
torture, madness or insanity and duality. Narrative elements have a major effect on the atmosphere,
set the tone and theme and are the backbone of the entire film. They are what makes the story

By writing the storyline a certain way a film can manipulate the emotions of the viewer. While
production elements like music and sound can also do this, multiple scientific experiments have
concluded that the context of the film is what has the most impact. What we watch has a much
stronger emotional effect than say the music. A study conducted by UCLA evolutionary biologist
Daniel Blumstein found that music alone was enough to elicit an emotional response from an
audience however when paired with a film whose storyline did not match the theme of the music it
was the context of the film that dominated. Daniel Blumstein said I think in this case there is a
visual dominance, here we find that when you put the two [video and audio] together, you lose the
acoustic affect you had before. What this means is that scary music paired with a normal film
produced normal emotions and normal music paired with a scary film produced fear. This means
that the narrative elements like the plot, the characters and the actions of the characters are more
impactful than the production elements and therefore better at portraying gothic

The Impact Of Talent Management On The Workforce And...
Introduction
Talent Management is important to any organization. Baby boomers are nearing retirement age
we have a large number of people retiring each year and we need to plan for this so we can fill
vacant positions with the best talent. There is unprecedented generational diversity in the
workforce and globalization is changing the way we conduct business. And of particular concern
to those of us in higher education, the mobility of academics affects our college s workforce who
we hire and the skills they need. Because of these reasons it is more important than ever for us to
embrace technology to help us manage our talent.

possible for us to use technology to support and develop employees and to plan for the future. We
now have the capacity to store, collect and analyze large volumes of data. Recent developments
regarding how we understand and then link individual characteristics and performance are enabling
a data revolution in the area of talent management (Abstract ).
A talent management system can provide, store and analyze important information for our
organization. A talent management system is an important tool for any organization and we would
be smart to purchase one.
Recommendation
I recommend that we purchase a talent management system.
Justification
A talent management system provides the ability to share information and support. Technology can
make the talent management process more efficient and create transparency. Supervisors can access
information more quickly than with spreadsheets and other shared documents. A talent

As the years past, Equiano had been through numerous hardships, however he still considered

The process of a daily sponge bath ensures that seniors who spend a lot of time in the bed are
properly lotioned and checked for bed sores. A full shower should be given at least once a week,
however, to prevent the build up of lotion and body oils. Perhaps most importantly, bathing and

creaming of the body also provides essential human contact. For many seniors who spend most

Femininity In The Sea Wolf
In Jack London s, The Sea Wolf, Humphrey Van Weyden embarks on a compelling journey that
teaches him about survival and independency. Throughout the novel readers can see how the men
aboard The Ghost fall under the dominance of the powerful and barbaric Wolf Larsen. On this ship,
Van Weyden not only discovers his masculinity
, but also realizes that people who are not self
reliant don t stand a chance in the existing world. Additionally, after the arrival of Maud Brewster,
Van Weyden is exposed to his own femininityand also learns what it feels like when another
human life depends on you. Besides being exposed to femininity, Van Weyden is also introduced to
the cruel ways that men live when they lack the presence of a female figure. He learns that cruelty
functions as a motivation to express dominance and savagery that is usually concealed in a
presence of a woman. In The Sea Wolf, Jack London uses the motif of cruelty to develop themes of
masculinity and femininity by highlighting that cruelty limits men from regarding their feminine
emotions, allows people to showcase their dominance and superiority over things, and by
exclaiming that it is a way for people to escape pain, or fnd pleasure. In the novel, London uses the
motif of cruelty to develop the theme of femininity by showcasing that cruelty limits men from
regarding their feminine emotions. Over the years, the general stereotype about women has been
that they get too emotionally involved in a situation. Through the majority of the novel, the people
aboard The Ghost are only men, thus lacking sympathy and care for another. Prior to the arrival of
Brewster, savagery and inhumanity was key to surviving on a ship full of men. Although most of
the men aboard the ship participated in revealing their masculinity others, like Van Weyden, stayed
back and observed, I cannot give the particulars of the horrible scene that followed. It was too
revolting. It turns me sick now when I think of it (92). The previous quote supports the argument
that cruelty limits men from regarding their feminine emotions because it shows that the
inhumanity Van Weyden witnessed left him fearful; he was left damaged, simply by watching. As

The Association Between Primary And Secondary Psychopathy...
This study used a correlation design to investigate the association between primary and secondary
psychopathy and cognitive empathy. 452 first year psychology students completed Levenson, Kiehl
and Fitzpatrick s (1995) Levenson self report Psychopathy scale (LSRP) and Baron Cohen,
Wheelwright, Hill, Raste and Plumb s (2001) Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET). A
significant negative correlation was found between primary psychopathyand empathy while the
correlation for secondary psychopathy and empathy was insignificant. From this it can be
concluded that primary psychopaths are worse at empathising than secondary psychopaths.
Association between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy
Psychopathy is a disorder which can be split into two subtypes, primary and secondary. Primary
psychopathy is typified by callous, manipulative, selfish and untruthful behaviour (Karpman, 1948,
as cited in Levenson, Kiehl Fitzpatrick, 1995). Secondary psychopathy is associated with anxiety,
introversion, low self esteem and moodiness (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999 as cited by Ali Chamorro
Premuzic, 2010). Cognitive empathy is described as the being able to understand and infer
emotions of others (Joliffee Farrington, 2004 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic). Understanding
the association between Psychopathy and Empathy is an area of interest as it provides insight on
how to effectively rehabilitate psychopaths; if they are showing the

The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Essay
A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with love. The plot
usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the way they want to be due to
obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can include a family s disapproval, to forbidden
love, to one s own psychological restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling
novel that was written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a
series of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It perfectly
fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it includes the complexity
of love, and elicits emotions.
In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that are in love.
This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre, displaying the complexity of their
love. Complex love includes the drama, and difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely
connected to the romantic parts of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and
Noah, played by well known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from
different social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah was
making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not confined to the amount of
money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the setting of the movie, social class played an

There are many different forms of forensic studies. Two of these forms are forensic anthropology
and forensic pathology. Though there are similarities in these two fields, there are also many
differences. When choosing whether to have a career in Forensic Anthropology or Forensic
Pathology, one must first know the differences in salary, the focus of study, the different education
and certifications needed for each career, diverse abilities needed, personality types, as well as the
distinctive software used in each field. To begin, although there are many different career options
for both Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Pathology, the difference in salary can influence
which career path some desire to work in. For example, the average yearly salary for a forensic
anthropologist was around fifty four thousand dollars (A., n.d.), while the average annual salary
for a forensic pathologist was just over one hundred and ninety thousand dollars (Franklin, B.
(Ed.). (n.d.)). With this gap in annual salary, an individual could face the dilemma of choosing
between what they want to do, or the amount of money they want to make. Though this is a large
difference, some individuals may decide that the salary does not matter opposed to following one
s dreams. In any case, the person will find a specific area of study to focus on. Though there are
many similarities in these two careers, their fields of study are very different. The main difference
is the career description. Forensic

First step of the scientific research process is to develop a research question. It means,
researchers need to decide the topic they are interested to study. They also need to get fund for
their research project on first steps to make their research success. Second step is, researchers
need to design their research based on what they are going study. Their third step is to collect the

Social Conflict Theory Paper
Social conflict theory sees social life as a race and centers on the allocation of resources, power,
and inequality. Social conflict theory is a Marxist based social theory which argues that
individuals and groups (social classes) within society interact based on conflict rather than
consensus. More powerful groups will tend to use their power in order to retain power and exploit
groups with less power (Butler, 1991; Payne, 2015). According to conflict theory, those with wealth
and power try to hold on to it by any means possible, chiefly by suppressing the poor and
powerless (Collins, 1990). Moreover, the theory revolves around concepts of social inequality in
the division of resources and focuses on the conflicts that exist between classes.

Fort Wayne History
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, We are not makers of history. We are made of history. The city
of Fort Wayne is a historical community in many ways. Fort Wayne was considered as a
crossroad by early settlers and Native Americans because of its locational value at the converging
point of the three rivers; the St. Mary s, the St. Joseph, and the Maumee Rivers. The city of Fort
Wayne is named after General Mad Anthony Wayne. He was a bold leader in the military, who
established the first American fort. This fort was right at the meeting point of the three rivers. Fort
Wayne was originally the region where the capital of the Miami nation was located, at that time
known as Kekionga. During the 1680s, the first European settlers were... Show more content on

This idea was thought of by planner Charles Mulford Robinson in 1909. It was finished by
George Kessler, a landscape architect in 1912. The overall program presented a web of

Compare And Contrast The Yellow Wallpaper And Half The Sky
Both The Yellow Wallpaper and Half the Sky imply women should be freed from oppression and
inequality. However, each text approaches the problem of oppression in a different way. While
both The Yellow Wallpaper and Half the Sky underscore how women are constrained physically
and emotionally within a male dominated society, the stories diverge in how they understand this
oppression. In The Yellow Wallpaper the narrator s relationship to her bedroom s wallpaper and
her descent into mental illness symbolize the social danger of misogyny, even if it is well intended.
But in Half the Sky genderinequality is expressed through actual cases of physical and sexual
violence. In these nonfiction stories the YW is fiction??, the writers show that, despite extreme
brutality and violence, women in the developing the YW is in the developed world though it
takes place in the past. world are capable of living a fulfilling and productive life. While both texts
agree that women should be free, the writers differ in how they express the experience of
oppression and the reasons it should be ended.
The Yellow Wallpaper is written from the perspective of a womanwho is diagnosed by her
physician husband as having a slight hysterical tendency. The story is from her first person
perspective of this temporary nervous depression. Her husband John loves her, but is
condescending: He is very careful and loving and hardly lets me stir without special direction

How Does Ryanair Porter s Five Forces Model
As we can see in the graphic, Ryanair uses barely more than a third the fuel to transport its
average passenger one Mike comparared to the least efficient. It succeeds by ranking first or
second for efficiency in load factor and seating density, while runner up Cathay Pacific ranks first
on aircraft fuel economy, distance, and freight share. (Ryanair, 2016).
1.4Analysing the Industry environment: Porter s Five Forces Model
According to Porter (2008) there are five competitive forces that shape the structure of the industry.
These forces are: Customers, suppliers, potential entrants and substitute products. This model is a
useful tool in order to develop the competitive advantage and it will be used for identifying the
competitive forces for Ryanair.

It is recognised for its cost leadership in the market. It operates in secondary airports which means
low airport charges. Furthermore, it has a 30 year safety record and uses modern aircraft.
Its additional income comes from extra baggage, additional weight and services. It has reduced
costs by personalising the purchaising process. Customers are the ones responsable of printing their
flight ticket, otherwise they have to pay a fee at the airport.
Weakness
The first weak point is that customers are price sensitive, if Ryanair does not provide the cheapest
price, they will use another airline. Nowadays, Airlines are reducing and cutting costs which can
influence the passengers to choose another option.
Another important point is related to the brand reputation, customers know that is a low cost
airline, however not everyone knows about its safety record. In addition, customer service has a
bad reputation, as the interest is to provide and reduce costs, the customer service has been left
behind. However, currently this is changing. Ryanair is realising that customer service is a key
point for engaging them with the

Disney channeled their efforts through bloggers and entertainment news sites to make it a point that the film used sophisticated film making techniques to create the animal characters. Stars are another way to make adults pay attention. They individually can pose a risk ranging from totally harmless, to life threatening, depending on the pathogen. There are types of bacteria, virus, and even fungus that can cause a wide range of problems for the human body. But there is one type of pathogen that is just as elusive as it is dangerous a pathogen that is rarely discovered in the human body, yet when it is, doctors are at a loss as to what can be done to stop it. It is called a Prion. A prion is a protein with a three dimensional shape, as opposed to standard proteins. However, there is also an opposing theory that suggests that the disease is caused by a virus, and that the prion is merely a byproduct of the viral activity. When the disease is present within a cow, it causes the brain to become riddled with holes that go all the way through the brain. Symptoms manifest in strange behaviors, such as pathological nervousness and increased aggression. The disease itself made headlines when it an epidemic hit Europe in the 1980s. The outbreak of BSE, or mad cow disease , was amplified by the practice of feeding cows the meat products of their own species. If a mad cow s brain matter was in the feeding cow s food, that cow could contract the disease. The event became a widespread health hazard after a link between BSE and Creutzfeldt Jakob disease was established, indicating that humans could also contract the disease by ingesting the brain matter of cows. The epidemic was dealt with by changing the feeding practices the European meat industry used to feed their cows. Creutzfeldt Jakob disease is the variant of spongiform encephalopathy that infects humans. It can be contracted from eating the contaminated brain matter of cows. • 6. SPA On A Nacl And H2O Solution With Varying The Effect SPA on a NaCl and H2O Solution with Varying Amounts of NaCl Ranging From 0.50g 0.62g Sodium Polyacrylate (SPA) is an absorbent. If poured into the right amount H2O, the SPA will absorb the H2O to the point where, if tipped upside down, the solution will hold. What will happen if this reaction is disrupted by a compound such as table salt (NaCl)? Physical properties of SPA include the fact that it is a white solid and that it is insoluble. Chemical properties of SPA include the fact that it has a pH value of 5.5 6.6 (1% in H2O)1, meaning that SPA is slightly acidic. Pure H2O has a pH of 7, or neutral (neither acidic nor basic)2. The pH indicates the concentration of H+ and OH ions in H2O3. SPA is reactive with H2O because the H2O is polar, so the farther away the electrons are, H is more positive and O is more negative. A substance, such as NaCl, would affect the SPA s ability to absorb H2O because it attracts the positive and negative ions in the H2O to itself and pulls them away from the SPA. The Cl attracts the H+ ions and the Na+ ions are drawn to the O ions. The purpose of this experiment is to see how NaCl affects the absorbency of SPA in H2O. If NaCl is added to H2O then SPA will be less effective in absorbing the H2O because NaCl pulls apart the bonds between the SPA and the H2O. The experiment begins with massing 2.0g of SPA in a weighboat. In a separate weighboat, mass 0.50g of NaCl. Then, fill a 200ml beaker with 175ml (175g) of tap H2O. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Terrestrial Human Body Earthsicknesss: Circumnavigation and the Terrestrial Human Body by Joyce E. Chaplin and Fear of Hot Climates in the Anglo American Colonial Experience by Karen Kupperman both provide great insight on specific cases in which European exploration and colonization lead to drastic changes in timely practices related to health, diet, and daily life. In her piece, Chaplin explicitly discusses the issue of scurvy in relation to circumnavigation, ranging from the 1500s to the beginning of the 1800s, with the assistance of direct accounts, narratives, medical statistics, and European literature. Generally, throughout the 3 centuries, sailors and captains believed that scurvy (also known as sea sickness) could be cured solely through direct contact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kupperman begins her article with a summary of standard body humor belief, while criticising the European belief that uncommon climates drastically affected their health. Nevertheless, once colonization of the West Indies and the Americas began, Europeans quickly realized the benefits of warmer climates, such as increases in crop production, harvest, and variety. Negatives were also analyzed as weeds ran rampant and working hours were compromised around the hottest parts of the day. Adaptation and acclimation were central components of new colonization lifestyle, which included altering physiology through trained sweating and diet, wearing lighter and informal articles of clothing, and building homes in different locations and out if different materials. Colonists generally learned their survival skills from natives, who offered their own remedies to medical conditions such as heat stroke and yellow fever, which colonists quickly adapted as the diseases of the West Indies seemingly contrasted from those of Europe. Although Europeans originally denied their possible success and survival in the New World, many found that immense production accompanied the climate change, which was worth the health risks and lifestyle ... Imperialism in Heart of Darkness and Kipling s Poetry Imperialism sprung from an altruistic and unselfish aim to take up the white man s burden 1 and wean [the] ignorant millions from their horrid ways. 2 These two citations are, of course, from Kipling s White Man s Burden and Conrad s Heart of Darkness, respectively, and they splendidly encompass what British and European imperialism was about at least seen from the late nineteenth century point of view. This was the occasion for which Recessional had been written, and it celebrated a vast empire that had dominion over palm and pine, and a far flung battle line. The poem speaks of lesser breeds without the Law, and it is this law that if, drunk with sight of power, must not be forgotten. It is a prayer for the eternal altruistic mission that the white man had been destined for, as well as a hopeful prayer that England should not decline: Far called, our navies melt away On dune and headland sinks the fire Lo, all our pomp of yesterday Is one with Nineveh and Tyre! Judge of the Nations, spare us yet, Lest we forget lest we forget!4 The call to extend the Law continues in Kipling s poem The White Man s Burden. However, such an extension calls for a definition of a white man. By this term, Kipling refers not only to those with white skin colour. Charles Carrington points out in his biography5 that in the late 19th century white people included all men with the moral standards of the civilised world. Carrington convincingly cites Kipling s own poem Gunga Din about an Indian water carrier, in which Gunga Din is the finest man I knew . Taking a Look at Thermal Cracking Thermal Cracking: The simple distillation of crude oil produces various types of products and some of them (heavy distillates) are not very much useful as a fuel when compared to light distillates. So there is a need for subsequent conversion of heavy distillates to light distillates. This can be obtained by altering the molecular structure of hydrocarbons in heavy distillates. One of the ways of accomplishing this change is by Cracking , a process that breaks the high boiling point petroleum fractions into more useful products like gasoline, fuel oil, gas oils. Thermal Cracking is the process of converting high boiling point petroleum fractions to more useful products using high temperature to heat them up and this high temperature gives them sufficient heat energy to crack. The first thermal cracking method, the Shukhov cracking process, was invented by Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov, in the Russian empire, Patent No. 12926, November 27, 1891and the first thermal cracking process was developed around 1913. Jeb Bush wants the United States to seek help from other countries and try to control the climate change by that. His solution is not realistic because even is the carbon emissions are cut out, there are other ways to hurt nature which effects the climate. • 32. Femininity In The Sea Wolf In Jack London s, The Sea Wolf, Humphrey Van Weyden embarks on a compelling journey that teaches him about survival and independency. Throughout the novel readers can see how the men aboard The Ghost fall under the dominance of the powerful and barbaric Wolf Larsen. On this ship, Van Weyden not only discovers his masculinity , but also realizes that people who are not self reliant don t stand a chance in the existing world. Additionally, after the arrival of Maud Brewster, Van Weyden is exposed to his own femininityand also learns what it feels like when another human life depends on you. Besides being exposed to femininity, Van Weyden is also introduced to the cruel ways that men live when they lack the presence of a female figure. He learns that cruelty functions as a motivation to express dominance and savagery that is usually concealed in a presence of a woman. In The Sea Wolf, Jack London uses the motif of cruelty to develop themes of masculinity and femininity by highlighting that cruelty limits men from regarding their feminine emotions, allows people to showcase their dominance and superiority over things, and by exclaiming that it is a way for people to escape pain, or fnd pleasure. In the novel, London uses the motif of cruelty to develop the theme of femininity by showcasing that cruelty limits men from regarding their feminine emotions. Over the years, the general stereotype about women has been that they get too emotionally involved in a situation. Through the majority of the novel, the people aboard The Ghost are only men, thus lacking sympathy and care for another. Prior to the arrival of Brewster, savagery and inhumanity was key to surviving on a ship full of men. Although most of the men aboard the ship participated in revealing their masculinity others, like Van Weyden, stayed back and observed, I cannot give the particulars of the horrible scene that followed. It was too revolting. It turns me sick now when I think of it (92). • 33. The Association Between Primary And Secondary Psychopathy... This study used a correlation design to investigate the association between primary and secondary psychopathy and cognitive empathy. 452 first year psychology students completed Levenson, Kiehl and Fitzpatrick s (1995) Levenson self report Psychopathy scale (LSRP) and Baron Cohen, Wheelwright, Hill, Raste and Plumb s (2001) Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET). A significant negative correlation was found between primary psychopathyand empathy while the correlation for secondary psychopathy and empathy was insignificant. From this it can be concluded that primary psychopaths are worse at empathising than secondary psychopaths. Association between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy Psychopathy is a disorder which can be split into two subtypes, primary and secondary. Primary psychopathy is typified by callous, manipulative, selfish and untruthful behaviour (Karpman, 1948, as cited in Levenson, Kiehl Fitzpatrick, 1995). Secondary psychopathy is associated with anxiety, introversion, low self esteem and moodiness (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic, 2010). Cognitive empathy is described as the being able to understand and infer emotions of others (Joliffee Farrington, 2004 as cited by Ali Chamorro Premuzic).
