The Theories Of Reasoned Action ( Tra ) And Of Planned...
The theories of reasoned action (TRA) and of planned behavior (TPB) were developed by Icek Ajzen
and Martin Fishbein in 1967 and 1988, respectively (Madden, 1992, 3 4). TPB is a revision of TRA
that was made after Ajzen and Fishbein identified and addressed gaps in the TRA model. TRA is
designed to predict voluntary behavior but when Ajzen and Fishbein accounted for the fact that not all
behavior was completely voluntary or under the actors control, they modified TRA into TPB, which
accounts for deliberate, planned behavior: the decisions make when people have time to make
informed choices (Madden, 1992, 4).
Both theories work under the assumption that behavior can be predicted by one s intention. TRA
claims that intention is determined by attitude and subjective norms. TPB differs in that it also
accounts for the factor of perceived control in determining intention.
Attitude is defined as the evaluation of ideas, events, people, or objects. It is influenced by behavioral
beliefs about the consequences of preforming an action and outcome evaluation of the consequence of
the action (i.e. how much one value s the result of the action in question) (Connor, 1988, p. 1431).
Subjective norms refers to others approval or disapproval of a given behavior; in other words, the
degree to which an actor feels pressure from significant others to preform (or not preform) a certain
behavior. Subjective norms can be predicted by normative beliefs the perception of beliefs of

Arabian Economic Advantages And Disadvantages
After rapid growth in the international debt of developing countries in the 1970s and the increasing
incidence of scheduling back debt in the early 1980s, the risk of countries reflecting the ability and
willingness of a country to financial services has been a topic of concern for the international world
(Cosset and Roy, 1991).
As well as significant events that occurred on September 11, 2001, the associated risks in international
relations has increased substantially, and it becomes more difficult to be analyzed and predicted for
decision makers in the fields of Economics, finance and politics. International investors are also aware
that the globalization of world trade and capital market openness poses a risk that could cause the

However, in a country naturally has advantages and disadvantages. In a country that is strong in
economics may have a weakness in political or social fields. This is the one that causes a country still
has risks although is included in a State that has a stable economy.
One example is the case in the Arabian peninsula, the Levant. The Arabian peninsula is the name of a
giant peninsula in Western Asia that has the form resembles the boots. the continental climate is hot is
known as one of the more prosperous cities in the world thanks to the existing oil reserves beneath it.
However, not all the residents of the Arabian peninsula has a prosperous people. Yemen located in the
heel of the peninsula is an example of a country that is not lucky, because in addition to having only
meager oil reserves, Yemen must also wrestle with the war tearing his territory.
The factor ethnicity was a factor in the Arabian peninsula that also affect why conflict there lasts
incessant from past to present.

How The Columbia Disaster Made NASA
The space shuttle Columbia disaster lead NASA to finally change their culture and realize that no
matter how small a threat may be perceived, it cannot be overlooked. The Columbia disaster was the
second disaster in NASA s history, that a small component, which was not adequately tested,
inevitably caused a chain reaction that lead to the disintegration of the space shuttle leaving no
survivors. The first disaster was Challenger in 1986. The Columbia disaster investigations lead NASA
to look further than just procedures and into the culture behind the entire space shuttle program. The
recognition of human spaceflight as a develop mental activity requires a shift in focus from operations
and meeting schedules to a concern for the risks involved. [1 p.208] The Columbia Space Shuttle STS
107 mission was the 113th mission and the 28th flight by the Columbia Space shuttle. The astronauts
that lost their lives were David Brown, Rick Husband, Laurel Clark, Kalpana Chawla, Michael
Anderson, Willian McCool, and Ilam Ramon. The mission was for research purposes. The three
experiments on board were SPACEHAB, MEIDEX, and FREESTAR. The research was carried out
successfully, and it wasn t until the re entry that the weakness was exposed. The space shuttle was
damaged on January 16, 2003 81.9 seconds into flight. Initially the damage was not noticed. The
impact wasn t observed until the high resolution film was analyzed. A piece of foam broke off the left

The Social Problem Of Social Problems
1.0.0 SOCIAL PROBLEM The term social problem cannot be comprehensively defined without
understanding the meaning of social itself before joining problem. 1.0.1 SOCIAL The word social
comes from the Latin socius meaning friend. When you re being social, you re everyone s friend. Go
to a social, or mixer and you might make a lot of new friends. Stand in the corner pouting, however,
and you re being anti social. Humans are described as social being ones that tend to move or live in
groups together, Social is relating to society or it is organization, needing companionship and
therefore best suited to living in communities , relating to or designed for activities in which people
meet each other for pleasure. Cambridge dictionary defined social as relating to activities in which
you meet and spend time with other people and that happen during the time when you are not
working: 1.0.2 PROBLEM Problem is a condition of discontentment resented by someone. But when
it is resented on many people, it becomes a social problem. For a problem to be social, it must involve
a large number of people, sometimes groups and institutions who consider a particular condition as
undesirable and intolerable and want to it to be corrected through collective effort or action. It is also a
perceived gap between the existing state and a desired state, or a deviation from a norm, standard,
although many problems turn out to have several

Middle Childhood Development
Early through Middle Childhood Development
Birth to Early Childhood
Before considering my personality as a child, it is important to mention the series of events that
influenced my personality by the age of eight. Before year eight, I would consider my family; e.g.,
younger brother and sister, to be developing emotional, social, physical, and strong academic
nurturing support from our mother. Our reality transformed one day in 1980, Big Al (my father)
abandoned the four of us for another family. This was the dominating force that altered my developing
personality. With this new reality, my family was soon evicted and relocated to live with other family
members. We lived in a single bedroom of a small, beige, shotgun house in New Orleans. My mothers
emotional state suffered; she had become financially responsible for three children with no former
education and work skills. She was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Otherwise, my stages of development and personality development did not suffer too much because of
the foundation in which my mother grounded me. Broderick Blewitt (2015), best describe the ways in
which my neurobiology is affected in the forebrain: the amygdala influences motivation, emotion, and
controls fear responses and interpretation of nonverbal and/or emotional expressions. The
hippocampus plays a role in my emotions, my inability to remember, and the inability to compare
sensory information to expectations. The medulla part of the hindbrain is where nerves cross from one
side of the body to the opposite side of the brain. The reticular formation is a system of nerves running
from the hindbrain through the midbrain to the cerebral cortex, controlling arousal and attention. And
lastly, the cerebral cortex controls complex thought processes. Now, how has this affected my
development? The chemical and neurotransmitters are imbalanced and short circuited not damaged

An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls One of the main themes of JB Priestley s play An Inspector Calls is how man treats
his fellow man. An Inspector Calls was set in 1912 in an Edwardian society this was a time of great
divide between the classes. There was a lot of social unrest as the working class people where uniting
to protest for fair pay, reduced working hours, and better working conditions. The play is set in The
Birling Household during Shelia Birling and Gerald Crofts engagement party. The party comes to an
abrupt end when a unknown inspector arrives at their door with some news. The news that the
inspector has is that a girl names Eva Smith committed suicide by drinking strong disinfectant.

and do the right thing but she refused as she knew he too immature to be a father. At the end of the
play he realises his wrong and changes his way: My god I m not likely to forget This showing he feels
bad for what he did. It also shows he has learnt his lesson. Eva after falling pregnant with Eric s baby
went to a charity that helped woman in need. She was very desperate at this time and used Mrs Birling
name and a false story about her husband leaving her. Not know Mrs Birling was the head of the
panel. After hearing Eva use her name Mrs Birling took an instant disliking to her and used her power
to turn her case down pushing her over the edge. After finding out she was pregnant she told her to go
and find the father it was his responsibility not knowing it was Eric s baby. Priestley has created the
inspector to force the characters to look at their attitudes and lives; to hopefully awaken their social
conscience and make them take responsibility for their treatment of Eva Smith. I think he does this by
not making him like a character but like their conscience and by making his name Goole like Ghoul. I
don t think he succeeds as only 2 of the characters have changed their views and take repsonbitlity for
their actions where the rest have not changed they tried to sweep it under the carpet. Gerald and Mr

Dalton Conley Social Inequality
Social inequality can practically be made apparent at any moment of someone s life whether at work
or school amongst peers or simply watching the news in the morning. According to Dalton Conley,
social inequality is narrowly defined as a condition in which a difference in wealth, power, prestige, or
status based on nonnatural conventions exist (2017 p.241). Moreover, social inequality is a process
whereby society can determine how a class of people is expected to coexist within predetermined
social, political, and economic boundaries. The affected class will live within the predefined
constraints, and the affected class will then pass the predefined constraints on to future generations. It
is imperative to understand that social inequality is a result of social stratification, which according to

Although most people in the United States of America do not live in an upper class household, this
term is often correlated with income, wealth, power, and prestige. In fact, approximately one percent
of the U.S. population is considered to fall in this stratum (2017 p.260). Nevertheless, the middle class
are the rulers of the United States of America. Per Conley, the middle class is a term commonly used
to describe those individuals with nonmanual jobs that pay significantly more than the poverty line
though this is a highly debated and expansive category, particularly in the United States of America,
where broad swathes of the population consider themselves middle class (2017 p.262). In particular,
the middle class is often correlated with white collar workers, such as accountants, teachers, and
attorneys. An abundant number of families in the United States of America are considered to be poor.
In accordance with Conley, in 2015, the poverty line for a family of four was $24,250 (2017

The Long Hour
I entered the room wincing with a feel of a deep pulsating sensation over my head. There is a feeling
that my head is bouncing like a ball in a soccer field and a constant blink blink sound is being
transmitted internally into my ears. The tingling sensations in my legs and arms with flashes of light
before the start of this sensation made me anxious. I looked around the room and saw few more people
sharing their pain and feelings with their loved ones. Everyone seemed in problem and is frowning
with the wrinkle on their forehead and a down slant lips. The room occasionally bursts into a laughter
followed by an awkward silence, as if everyone is trying to hear the sound of a dropped pin. Every

Every second was counting as a minute for me due to the nature of the pain in my head. There were
few people moving out of the doctor s room with some relieved face and many were entering in to join
us. Every type of people was there, some were old, some were young, and some were newborn. A
young woman, in her twenties, with a short, silky red dress entered the room on her catwalk and a tack
tack tack noise of her boot echoed in the room. As she passed by the side, a gush of air whistled
through my ear and a sweet aroma of her fragrance activated my olfactory nerves. I closed my eyes
and felt a great relief on my head. As I closed my eyes, a vivid picture of the beautiful girl revolved
around my eyes and the pulsation of the head decreased. It was a relaxing and an exciting moment
amidst the agony. When I opened the eyes, she was sitting in front of me, but the head again started
pulsating; felt like the rolling of a boiling water and the bright light was disturbing me. I quickly
contracted my periocular muscles to keep my eyes semi closed so that only a fraction of the light
enters my aperture. It led to a self realization of a vital fact that a momentary relief of the throbbing
pain was not because of that sweet fragrance and the beautiful woman, but it was due to the darkness
in my eyes. A partial cure of my suffering amazed me and waited eagerly, with eyes closed and ears

A Note On Financial Management
Liquidity is a noteworthy issue in security markets in developing nations such as India. Liquidity
might have various things for understanding. For monetary business sector, we for the most part
characterize liquidity as the simplicity of exchanging a money related item. On the off chance that the
exchanging results in generous quality misfortune for the advantage versus its natural worth, then we
consider the business sector for the security as illiquid. There are a few variables that influence the
liquidity data accessibility, unwavering quality and nature of exchange costs, value sway, and so forth.
Liquidity influences the benefit costs as financial specialists would require extra pay to have the stock
of the illiquid resources which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The liquidity issues can prompt systemic disappointment in installment frameworks (liquidity hazard)
and prompt the breakdown in credit assignment. Amid late money related emergency, the vast
majority of the national banks far and wide worked extra minutes to infuse liquidity to the budgetary
framework through managing an account and close keeping money channels to maintain a strategic
distance from systemic installment breakdown. Consequently, inadequate business sector liquidity will
have resultant effect on a national bank s exercises both as a moneylender of final resort and in its
supervision of budgetary strength. In the result of money related emergency, it was watched that a
large portion of the Governments around the globe have abnormal state of remarkable obligation due
to their backing to the budgetary framework amid the emergency a great many. A fluid optional
business sector results in lower acquiring cost for the Governments. A national bank would
dependably work in close coordination with the Government to improve the respectability and
effectiveness of the Government securities market. A business sector is fluid if brokers can execute
their exchanges promptly (promptness, or the pace of doing an exchange), and where huge
arrangements have little effect on present and ensuing costs or Bid ask spread. The business sector

Welfare Is Not Solving Poverty
Ronald Reagan said, Welfare s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own
existence. Welfare is not solving Poverty in America. Before I start this argument I need to assert that I
do not think that welfare is a matter of solving poverty anymore. I agree with Ban Ki Moon when he
says, True security is based on people s welfare. Welfare has become a way of keeping the
impoverished people from becoming desperate enough to commit crimes, but within this system, that
was originally meant to improve the poverty situation, there is evidence that it is causing more people
to fall below the poverty line and become dependent on it. I think the US government should consider
a welfare reform while thinking about what they really need welfare to accomplish. I think that a
welfare program is necessary and I think that a program to help people who are in poverty is needed,
but right now I do not think these two programs coincide as they are supposed to. Thus, welfare is
hindering impoverished people from ever getting above the poverty line, and the government needs to
reform the program. Over the past several years, Welfare reform has been a hot topic in politics in the
United States. A lot of research has been done on the effectiveness of welfare and most research states
that welfare is hindering rather than helping people get out of poverty. When talking about the role
played by anti poverty programs in America, David T. Ellwood and Lawrence H.

Different Methods And Methods Of The Carbon Hydrogen...
Both of these techniques provide peaks that relate to the specific Carbon locations within a tested
structure. The placement of Carbons by certain elements or bonding environments provide distinct
peaks on an one dimensional C13 NMR spectrum. Our 60 MHz NMR, does produce spectra, but these
spectra have issues when it comes to smaller peaks. In order to determine as much Carbon information
as possible from our Ibuprofen solution, we also used the two dimensional NMR technique DEPT.
DEPT creates three different C13 NMR spectra. Each DEPT provides specific details when it comes
to determining how many specific Carbon Hydrogen environments (CH3 s, CH2 s, and CH s) exist in
Ibuprofen.
The DEPT 135 spectrum represents CH3 and CH Carbons as ... Show more content on

Both DEPT 45 and C13 NMR spectra, were combined, and we determined seven Carbon peaks that
are associated with Ibuprofen, but there are some Carbon peaks that are not present on the spectra.
These include the remaining two Carbons on the benzene ring and the Carbon that is in the carboxylic
acid functional group. The theoretical peak locations for these Carbons would be 145 135 ppm for the
aromatic Carbons and 200 180 ppm for the carbonyl Carbon. Our 60 MHz is not precise enough to
separate these small peaks from the noise generated by the machine. Now with the specific number of
Carbon Hydrogen environments, we shall construct Ibuprofen s structure via proton NMR techniques.
H1 NMR / COSY NMR:
COSY NMR is a two dimensional proton NMR analysis technique that shows, which H1 NMR peaks
are coupled with each other. If H1 NMR peaks are coupled together, then those Hydrogen
environments are located within three bonds of each other. The determination of H H couplings is
done via drawing lines from each H1 split peak on the sides of the COSY spectrum to the opposite
side of the spectrum. Then each H1 peak is traced down the line in order to find any peaks created
from different Hydrogen peaks. From our spectrum, there were three couplings that occurred. On our
spectrum we have these peaks labeled as H, G, F, C, and B. The exact couplings are (H,G), (H,F), and
(C,B). The coupling locations match the peak locations on the H1 NMR.
The H1 NMR spectrum was analyzed just like the

Macromolecules Research Paper
There are four major classes of macromolecules. They are lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic
acids. There are many similarities between these macromolecules, and they all play a very important
role in biology. However, there are also many differences, especially between lipids and the other
three groups.
First of all, there are five main types of lipids. They are fats, waxes, oils, phospholipids, and steroids.
Lipids are hydrophobic, meaning they repel water and are nonpolar. The function of lipids is to store
energy and it also helps with keeping the structure of the cell walls. Generally a lipid has a glycerol
with three fatty acids attached to it. This is known as a triglyceride. Phospholipids are a little different
in that they only have two fatty acids and these fatty acids ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All macromolecules except lipids are long chains made up of smaller building blocks. For example,
carbohydrates are polysaccharides which are just a bunch of monosaccharides.Proteins are made up of
amino acids and DNA and RNA are made up of nucleotides. Another difference is that lipids are not
soluble in water. Carbohydrates are all soluble in water, as well a nucleic acids. Some proteins are and
some proteins aren t soluble in water. The function of a lipid also differs from that of a protein or
nucleic acid. There are many functions to a protein depending on what type of protein it is. Enzymatic
proteins help to accelerate functions in the body such as digestion. Transport proteins help move
things across the cell membrane. There are many other important functions of proteins too. The
function of nucleic acids is to store information. Lipids function is to store energy which is the same
as carbohydrates, but lipids release more energy. Lipids release 9 kcal/g. but carbohydrates only
release 4 kcal/g. Lipids also have a role in cellular signaling and the structure of a cell which
carbohydrates do

The Importance Of T Cells
T cells play a central role in the activation of cellular immunity and are of key importance to the
maintenance of immunological memory. In cellular immunity, the effector phase is triggered once the
T cell receptors (TCRs) expressed on the surface of T lymphocytes engages specific peptide antigens
(Ags) presented by MHC molecules, and regarded as one of the key discoveries in our understanding
of the adaptive immune response. Presumably, due to the selective pressure exerted by the pathogens,
T cells have evolved to recognize a range of chemically distinct antigens such as lipids and vitamin B
metabolites and challenged the prevailing view that T cells are solely reactive to peptide antigens
presented by MHC molecules. Perhaps one of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The above holds true particularly when mouse model is used to evaluate the functional outcome of
NKT cells, wherein the role of CD1d2 in antigen presentation and NKT TCR recognition remain
obscure. This is has been overcome with the crystal structure of the CD1d2, which has now provided a
valuable insight into the antigen presentation mechanism mediated by CD1d2. The crystal structure
has identified a smaller A antigen binding pocket in CD1d2, which in turn indicated the possible
requirement of shorter acyl chain length lipid for its antigen presentation. Given that most of the
antigens that were studied in the context of NKT cell mediated immunity required longer A pocket
compared to the relative size in CD1d2, the study indicates that CD1d2 might present a different set of
lipid antigens for NKT TCR recognition. Further, owing to their monomorphic nature, the finding can
be used as a potential lead to evaluate how the difference in antigen presentation can impact the
reactivity of NKT cells and subsequently the outcome of the NKT cell mediated immune response. In
addition, the crystal structure could be used as a platform for the development of novel
immunotherapeutics with the special focus on CD1d2 restricted NKT cells. In future, the study will be
aimed to address the structural basis of NKT TCR CD1d2 Ag recognition, which will considerably
help us in understanding the basis of CD1d2 in lipid mediated

Color In The Great Gatsby
The Colors of Life The helpful acronym ROY G. BIV is used to aid in the remembering the order that
the colors appear in the rainbow. Colors are everywhere: the flowers that grow along the sidewalk, the
shirts that we wear, the cars on the road, and the environment around us. Colors even have the ability
to relay information to us, for example, whether it will rain or not based on the color of the sky and
clouds, no to touch a snake if certain colors touch, or even is someone is angry based on the color of
their face. Colors are a main focus point in The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and are
used to express emotions and events of specific characters. A small but very important color in The

combine clear aesthetic supremacy with qualities that went beyond any artist s limits around that time.
Her voice was vital within this era of design and still continues to exude a clear influence on design
today.

Eileen Gray s vision of E.1027 s design was from a social aspect. She used the smallest volume of
space yet still maintaining the desired comfort.
In the 1970 s, Gray withdrew from the front of the design world only to be given her much deserved
accolade from a new design era. She received this kudos with pride as she was retiring from the field.
Her works proved an enormous appreciation and even set a record in 1972 after her final furniture
pieces were sold out at auction in Paris. She was able to enjoy this belated recognition with a bemused
detachment .
In conclusion, this essay has briefly addressed Eileen Gray s position and unique character she carried
through her career during the modernist design period. It focused in on one of her most exemplary
works, the E 1027 house, while covering wider areas including her views on the distinct roles within
modernism and her addition to the development of this movement through furniture design and
architecture. Her prominence is solid due to her individual collection of work that still inspires the

How Organic Food Is Better Than Buying And Eating The Non...
Introduction
In today s world, there is a lot of emphasis on the kind of food that we consume in daily routine. One
such issue claims that eating organic food is much better than buying and eating the non organic food
(D. Mosbergen July 2014). Certain studies point to the fact that the organic food that is available in
almost every market is the best healthy option available whereas others say that it is no good but a
tactical business strategy for increasing the sales of products labelled as Organic .
While surfing through the internet and also while reading newspapers, one can see the influence these
USDA approved label food item have on the general public. It has been in the controversy for a long
time about labelling a certain food item as organic. But, what really is organic. Some people are
misinformed about the organic food being the food that is resistant in a certain protein (for example,
Gluten free) or some other component of food (For example, B fatty acids, low fat). But as per the
USDA guidelines, foods are organic if they integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that
foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity (Wikipedia). As
one can make out from the definition, Organic food refers to avoidance in the use of synthetic
chemicals such as fertilizers, pesticides; avoidance of much controversial genetically modified crops;
usage of farmland that is prohibited from the chemically synthesized

Women s Rights During The 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration...
The women of America have struggled to gain the same equality as men. The 1848 Seneca Falls
Declaration and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire were two documents showing the mistreatment
and the unfairness of women in the work place and America as a whole. Some people did not believe
women had the same rights as men, but women thought otherwise and wanted their voice heard. The
aspects of equality in the American Dream were unavailable to women because women were not given
the same rights as men. Similar to the Declaration of Independence which showed the unfair laws
Britain placed upon the colonies, the Seneca Falls Declaration explained the rights not given to
women by men. One of the grievances in the Seneca Falls Declaration stated, He has never permitted
her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise. He has compelled her to submit to laws,
in the formation of which she had no voice (Stanton, Anthony 57). In other words, women had to obey
the laws just like men did, but women did not have the right to vote. Women had no voice in which
laws were passed but they understood that by being citizens of America they should have a say in the
government. The Seneca Falls Declaration clearly stated, Having deprived her of this first right of a
citizen, the elective franchise, there by leaving her without representation in the halls of legislation, he
has oppressed her on all sides (57). Women saw the inequality being given to them and they wrote the

Compare And Contrast Beowulf And The Green Knight
Beowulf and Sir Gawain: Compare and Contrast
Life comes with many trials and tribulations, some of which we come out successful or defeated.
Whether we are successful or not, we endure a pattern of life, growth, and experience, to which we
can incorporate what we have learned in our everyday life. In the world of literature, this is commonly
referred as the Hero s Journey. The Hero s Journey consists of 17 stages, divided into three main parts:
Separation, Initiation and Transformation, and The Return. In the Old English poems, Beowulf and Sir
Gawain and the Green Knight express distinct similarities and differences in the 16th stage, Master of
Two Worlds; showing how their external and internal conflicts changed the main characters into
masters of the known and unknown world.
First, in both pieces of literature, each main character experiences an external conflict in order to
complete their quest and return home. The external conflict in the poems involve a struggle with man,
nature, or both. In Beowulf, the external conflict is man versus man. Beowulf fights Brecca, Grendel,
Grendel s mother, and the Dragon. As he progresses on, Beowulf s opponents become less and less
human, meaning that the risk of death is greater. He expresses this emotion when he addresses his men
before the final battle with the Dragon. I would rather not use a weapon if I knew another way to
grapple with the dragon and make good my boast as I did Grendel in days gone by. But I shall be

The African-American Uprising
Recently in the United States there has been an uprising in backlash due to the growing knowledge of
the issues facing African Americans. The issues have existed for a very long time, but recent events
such as fatal encounters with police officers have made this more present in the media. I believe it is
more of people realizing they aren t getting what they deserve and then people still denying those
rights. Ever since the Civil War, member of the southern states have hung up the confederate rebel flag
as a reminder of their place in history. Today, the battle for this flag to be taken down has received
much media attention. The flag is viewed in some minds as a symbol of rebelling against oppressors
instead of a representation of the support

Michelangelo s Last Judgement
The artist that I chose to present his artwork is Michelangelo. One of Michelangelo s most famous
piece is The Last Judgement. The Last Judgement was ordered by Pope Clement VII in 1534 and was
started in 1536. Michelangelo took five years to create The Last Judgement and it was one of the
largest fresco painting in the 16th century. The painting created by Michelangelo is currently located
in the Sistine Chapel of Rome. He used a painting technique called fresco . Fresco is the use of
watercolor on wet plaster. The painting represents the second coming of Christ and the Judgement of
God for all of humanity. In the center of the painting, Christ and with him, his mother, the Virgin

David is a marble statue seen as a nude male and is 17 feet tall. The sculpture is in Florence Italy in
Galleria dell Accademia. This sculpture took Michelangelo three years to complete and was finished
in 1504. David is the first nude standing sculpture in a thousand years and is a symbol of Florence.
Michelangelo is thought to believe that he borrowed the idea from the Greek and the Hellenistic Era to
build a nude sculpture. David represents victory and a hero. As seen in the sculpture, Michelangelo
uses the technique of contrapposto that was used in Greek art and Hellenistic art. David is putting
more weight on one foot than another and that creates the twist off with his hips and legs. The
slingshot that David is holding represents a weapon that he used to defeat Goliath. The whole story
that comes with the sculpture is Goliath was seemed as impossible to defeat but David comes around
and defeats Goliath with a slingshot and beheads him. The lines and the detail that Michelangelo put
in represents the use of geometry/math. Rather than being relaxed, David s face is tight and looks like
he is ready for battle. His eyes are looking at someone or something far away and ready for something
to happen. Many people compare Donatello s David to Michelangelo s David because they appear
different but were based on the same story. In Donatello s David, he is seen standing on top of Goliath
s head and instead of having a

This evidence is important because if people get frustrated in school they can calm themselves by

people with gum have been doing better with those without on their academic grades. The person in
this article tells us how when he/she does homework chewing gum helps her focus better. GUM can

school campus and can be littered around the school. But as stated in (custodians at work)By Mia
Lopez Zubiri custodians spend many hours trying to scrape gum off the bottom of desks, chairs,
floors, etc. As a result this can be very time consuming and more than likely slow down the custodians
working process.Critics have a valid point about why this is so bad to our school environment.
However we can organize special rules that if you are caught putting gum in desks on floors etc. you
will face a severe consequence therefore making the littering problem

Lorenzo And Santa Maria Novella Comparison
A comparison between the structure of San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novella discloses the same style
of High Classical age of fifth century Greece that Alberti and Brunelleschi both aimed to achieve. In
Santa Maria Novella, Alberti introduced Classical features around the portico with Classical
proportions. Moreover, elements such as pilasters, cornices and a pediment in the Classical style were
used instead of sculptures. In regards to the façade designed by Alberti, the incorporation of two large
scrolls to bridge the different levels of the central nave to the lower side aisles was another feature of
Church facades in late Renaissance, Baroque and Classical Revival architecture.
Comparably, in the Old Sacristy of San Lorenzo designed by Brunelleschi, ... Show more content on

As shown in diagram one, the vast interior of Santa Maria Novella is divided into a nave, a short
transept and two aisles. The plan of San Lorenzo (diagram two), inspired by classical art, on the other
hand consists of three naves and a conceptualization of modules of aisles. Both plans are spatially
longitudinal with a singular emphasized large nave to convey austerity. Moreover, the exposure of the
full length floor when one enters San Lorenzo produces a visual highlight of centralization in the area
of the transept, of which the central dome meets the corners of a square. This combination of curve
and square is Brunelleschi s rational perception of geometric relationships an important contrast to
Gothic architecture, where cathedrals were intended to awe and mystify the viewer with the
flamboyant beauty of the sacred. The Renaissance church, in contrast, desires to communicate the idea
that math and science were paths to the sacred, as echoed by Alberti in his treatise, Della Pittura, the
harmony of all parts in relation to one another and that this concord is realized in a particular number,
proportion and arrangement demanded by harmony.

Hamlet And Family Dysfunctional In William Shakespeare s...
Hamlet..? We all know, and have heard of the great play, and book of the famous tragedy that was
made by Shakespeare. Some debate to see the story as a good piece of art to something that teaches
and also reveals some traits that people have. When we all think of hamlet I believe we think of a
crazy time were a king was killed for a throne, and it just so happens to be the death of a king who had
an insane family, but there is so much more to it then that. Hamlet is a bunch of things when I look at
it. What I see is a time and place were the actions of people were expressed in a way that the world is
not perfect. We see this royal family with deep family disfunction, distrust and mistrust within each
other, and just straight up corruption. People need to understand that this play holds deadly truths and
lies, but also a handful of passion, sadness, and the need of love. But sometimes love can come with
piece. A powerful word to describe the Hamlet family is very dysfunctional. Family dysfunction rules
out there hope of trusting one another and depending on the family to even be a family. In the book
Hamlet as you read through the pages, you will begin to see that. The whole family will rarely sit with
each other and just enjoy the presence of their company without being suspicious of some accusation
that just happens to be brought up, it s as if to call it a big family dysfunction. Having a family is
really big part of growing up and when your father dies, as

Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Essay
Hello, my name is Valerie Faris, and I am one of the co directors (along with Jonathan Dayton) of the
film, Little Miss Sunshine . When making this film, my co director and I heavily aimed to portray the
different ways we as human beings search to find our place in the world. We focused on the
conception of building relationships and trust within the concept of a family. We wanted to convey the
concept that when it comes to family, its never too late to re connect and belong.
Our film follows an extended family on their journey from New Mexico to California, as young
daughter Olive prepares to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.
In the beginning of the film, each member of the family feels isolated from one another, ... Show more

All it takes is Olives small hand upon his shoulder and he starts to calm down. This conveys that
although he does not feel a connection to anyone else around him, he will always feel one to Olive,
and it reminds him that he is on this trip for her. By dressing her in red, we also highlighted her
determination to win the Little miss sunshine contest and to make her appear more vulnerable to the
harsh treatment by the girls at the pageant, to which physically, she does not belong.
This use of colour continues throughout the film, with the bright yellow VW bus, which acted as a
motif. We used the colour yellow to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism, symbolising the
families journey of re connecting, of hope, and to reinforce the individual versus the collective action
working together for a change rather then separating themselves as individuals. We chose the
ridiculous loud and irreparable car horn to symbolise and reinforce the dysfunction of the family, and
convey the initial lack of connection.
Portrayal of the progress of the family was very important, and the van was used to symbolise this. It
started to break down just as the family was at its peak of frustration, however when they all worked
together to give it a pushing start, the van was able to continue on its journey. This highlighted their

Operant Vs. Operant Conditioning
Operant Learning Model Operant conditioning is best described as the process that attempts to modify
behavior through the use of positive and negative reinforcement. During this process the subject you
are working with either animal or human learns to perform a specific task, through the use of positive
or negative reinforcement (Chance, 2014). This model is best suited for teaching Ben the appropriate
behavior as it relates to stealing. Operant conditioning will be used to teach Ben not to steal; this will
be supported by the use of positive reinforcers. In order for this to be effective Ben should be placed
on a continuous reinforcement schedule; consisting of positive reinforcements. These should be age
appropriate; these reinforcers are verbal praise and 30 minutes of television (Cartoon Network); this
will be rewarded only if he does not engage in stealing. No forms of punishment will be used on Ben;
although punishment has an immediate effect it does not teach a lesson. With operant learning Ben
will learn to decrease his negative behavior and engage in positive actions.
Aggression with Spanking By nature children are naturally inclined to mock or imitate things that

  • 3. The Theories Of Reasoned Action ( Tra ) And Of Planned... The theories of reasoned action (TRA) and of planned behavior (TPB) were developed by Icek Ajzen and Martin Fishbein in 1967 and 1988, respectively (Madden, 1992, 3 4). TPB is a revision of TRA that was made after Ajzen and Fishbein identified and addressed gaps in the TRA model. TRA is designed to predict voluntary behavior but when Ajzen and Fishbein accounted for the fact that not all behavior was completely voluntary or under the actors control, they modified TRA into TPB, which accounts for deliberate, planned behavior: the decisions make when people have time to make informed choices (Madden, 1992, 4). Both theories work under the assumption that behavior can be predicted by one s intention. TRA claims that intention is determined by attitude and subjective norms. TPB differs in that it also accounts for the factor of perceived control in determining intention. Attitude is defined as the evaluation of ideas, events, people, or objects. It is influenced by behavioral beliefs about the consequences of preforming an action and outcome evaluation of the consequence of the action (i.e. how much one value s the result of the action in question) (Connor, 1988, p. 1431). Subjective norms refers to others approval or disapproval of a given behavior; in other words, the degree to which an actor feels pressure from significant others to preform (or not preform) a certain behavior. Subjective norms can be predicted by normative beliefs the perception of beliefs of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Middle Childhood Development Early through Middle Childhood Development Birth to Early Childhood Before considering my personality as a child, it is important to mention the series of events that influenced my personality by the age of eight. Our reality transformed one day in 1980, Big Al (my father) abandoned the four of us for another family. This was the dominating force that altered my developing personality. With this new reality, my family was soon evicted and relocated to live with other family members. We lived in a single bedroom of a small, beige, shotgun house in New Orleans. There was a lot of social unrest as the working class people where uniting to protest for fair pay, reduced working hours, and better working conditions. The play is set in The Birling Household during Shelia Birling and Gerald Crofts engagement party. The party comes to an abrupt end when a unknown inspector arrives at their door with some news. Eva after falling pregnant with Eric s baby went to a charity that helped woman in need. She was very desperate at this time and used Mrs Birling name and a false story about her husband leaving her. Not know Mrs Birling was the head of the panel. After hearing Eva use her name Mrs Birling took an instant disliking to her and used her power to turn her case down pushing her over the edge. After finding out she was pregnant she told her to go and find the father it was his responsibility not knowing it was Eric s baby. Priestley has created the inspector to force the characters to look at their attitudes and lives; to hopefully awaken their social conscience and make them take responsibility for their treatment of Eva Smith. I think he does this by not making him like a character but like their conscience and by making his name Goole like Ghoul. I don t think he succeeds as only 2 of the characters have changed their views and take repsonbitlity for their actions where the rest have not changed they tried to sweep it under the carpet. Dalton Conley Social Inequality Social inequality can practically be made apparent at any moment of someone s life whether at work or school amongst peers or simply watching the news in the morning. According to Dalton Conley, social inequality is narrowly defined as a condition in which a difference in wealth, power, prestige, or status based on nonnatural conventions exist (2017 p.241). Moreover, social inequality is a process whereby society can determine how a class of people is expected to coexist within predetermined social, political, and economic boundaries. Per Conley, the middle class is a term commonly used to describe those individuals with nonmanual jobs that pay significantly more than the poverty line though this is a highly debated and expansive category, particularly in the United States of America, where broad swathes of the population consider themselves middle class (2017 p.262). In particular, the middle class is often correlated with white collar workers, such as accountants, teachers, and attorneys. An abundant number of families in the United States of America are considered to be poor. In accordance with Conley, in 2015, the poverty line for a family of four was $24,250 (2017 ... There is a feeling that my head is bouncing like a ball in a soccer field and a constant blink blink sound is being transmitted internally into my ears. I looked around the room and saw few more people sharing their pain and feelings with their loved ones. A young woman, in her twenties, with a short, silky red dress entered the room on her catwalk and a tack tack tack noise of her boot echoed in the room. • 13. Welfare Is Not Solving Poverty Ronald Reagan said, Welfare s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence. Welfare is not solving Poverty in America. Before I start this argument I need to assert that I do not think that welfare is a matter of solving poverty anymore. I agree with Ban Ki Moon when he says, True security is based on people s welfare. Welfare has become a way of keeping the impoverished people from becoming desperate enough to commit crimes, but within this system, that was originally meant to improve the poverty situation, there is evidence that it is causing more people to fall below the poverty line and become dependent on it. I think the US government should consider a welfare reform while thinking about what they really need welfare to accomplish. I think that a welfare program is necessary and I think that a program to help people who are in poverty is needed, but right now I do not think these two programs coincide as they are supposed to. Thus, welfare is hindering impoverished people from ever getting above the poverty line, and the government needs to reform the program. Over the past several years, Welfare reform has been a hot topic in politics in the United States. A lot of research has been done on the effectiveness of welfare and most research states that welfare is hindering rather than helping people get out of poverty. The placement of Carbons by certain elements or bonding environments provide distinct peaks on an one dimensional C13 NMR spectrum. Our 60 MHz NMR, does produce spectra, but these spectra have issues when it comes to smaller peaks. In order to determine as much Carbon information as possible from our Ibuprofen solution, we also used the two dimensional NMR technique DEPT. DEPT creates three different C13 NMR spectra. Both DEPT 45 and C13 NMR spectra, were combined, and we determined seven Carbon peaks that are associated with Ibuprofen, but there are some Carbon peaks that are not present on the spectra. These include the remaining two Carbons on the benzene ring and the Carbon that is in the carboxylic acid functional group. The theoretical peak locations for these Carbons would be 145 135 ppm for the aromatic Carbons and 200 180 ppm for the carbonyl Carbon. Our 60 MHz is not precise enough to separate these small peaks from the noise generated by the machine. Now with the specific number of Carbon Hydrogen environments, we shall construct Ibuprofen s structure via proton NMR techniques. H1 NMR / COSY NMR: COSY NMR is a two dimensional proton NMR analysis technique that shows, which H1 NMR peaks are coupled with each other. If H1 NMR peaks are coupled together, then those Hydrogen environments are located within three bonds of each other. The determination of H H couplings is done via drawing lines from each H1 split peak on the sides of the COSY spectrum to the opposite side of the spectrum. Then each H1 peak is traced down the line in order to find any peaks created from different Hydrogen peaks. From our spectrum, there were three couplings that occurred. On our spectrum we have these peaks labeled as H, G, F, C, and B. The exact couplings are (H,G), (H,F), and (C,B). The coupling locations match the peak locations on the H1 NMR. There are many similarities between these macromolecules, and they all play a very important role in biology. However, there are also many differences, especially between lipids and the other three groups. First of all, there are five main types of lipids. They are fats, waxes, oils, phospholipids, and steroids. Lipids are hydrophobic, meaning they repel water and are nonpolar. The function of lipids is to store energy and it also helps with keeping the structure of the cell walls. Generally a lipid has a glycerol with three fatty acids attached to it. Enzymatic proteins help to accelerate functions in the body such as digestion. Transport proteins help move things across the cell membrane. There are many other important functions of proteins too. This is has been overcome with the crystal structure of the CD1d2, which has now provided a valuable insight into the antigen presentation mechanism mediated by CD1d2. The crystal structure has identified a smaller A antigen binding pocket in CD1d2, which in turn indicated the possible requirement of shorter acyl chain length lipid for its antigen presentation. Given that most of the antigens that were studied in the context of NKT cell mediated immunity required longer A pocket compared to the relative size in CD1d2, the study indicates that CD1d2 might present a different set of lipid antigens for NKT TCR recognition. Further, owing to their monomorphic nature, the finding can be used as a potential lead to evaluate how the difference in antigen presentation can impact the reactivity of NKT cells and subsequently the outcome of the NKT cell mediated immune response. In addition, the crystal structure could be used as a platform for the development of novel immunotherapeutics with the special focus on CD1d2 restricted NKT cells. The 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire were two documents showing the mistreatment and the unfairness of women in the work place and America as a whole. Some people did not believe women had the same rights as men, but women thought otherwise and wanted their voice heard. The aspects of equality in the American Dream were unavailable to women because women were not given the same rights as men. Similar to the Declaration of Independence which showed the unfair laws Britain placed upon the colonies, the Seneca Falls Declaration explained the rights not given to women by men. One of the grievances in the Seneca Falls Declaration stated, He has never permitted her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise. He has compelled her to submit to laws, in the formation of which she had no voice (Stanton, Anthony 57). In other words, women had to obey the laws just like men did, but women did not have the right to vote. Women had no voice in which laws were passed but they understood that by being citizens of America they should have a say in the government. Whether we are successful or not, we endure a pattern of life, growth, and experience, to which we can incorporate what we have learned in our everyday life. In the world of literature, this is commonly referred as the Hero s Journey. The Hero s Journey consists of 17 stages, divided into three main parts: Separation, Initiation and Transformation, and The Return. In the Old English poems, Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight express distinct similarities and differences in the 16th stage, Master of Two Worlds; showing how their external and internal conflicts changed the main characters into masters of the known and unknown world. First, in both pieces of literature, each main character experiences an external conflict in order to complete their quest and return home. The external conflict in the poems involve a struggle with man, nature, or both. In Beowulf, the external conflict is man versus man. Beowulf fights Brecca, Grendel, Grendel s mother, and the Dragon. As he progresses on, Beowulf s opponents become less and less human, meaning that the risk of death is greater.
