Potable Drinking Water Act ( Sdwa ) For National Air...
Introduction In the water treatment process, there are lots of processes required in order to remove
sediments, bacteria, viruses and impurities. These processes are including screening, filtration,
flocculation, sedimentation, nitrification, chlorination, coagulation, and disinfection. In many
municipal wastewater treatment has some standards and regulations to follow in order to distribute
clean and safe water supple to citizen in their area. US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
enforces requirements under the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) for

Water disinfection means eliminating or inactivate of growth and reproduction in pathogenic
microorganisms by creating cell wall corrosion in the cells of microorganisms, or changes in cell
permeability. From the water treatment process, disinfection is a sufficient and the crucial process in
order to inactivate bacteria, viruses and pathogenic organisms that can waterborne diseases to
downstream users and the environment (USEPA, 1999). There are three most common methods of
disinfection in the U.S., which are Chlorination, Ozonation, and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection.
Chlorine, the most widely used disinfectant for municipal wastewater, destroys target organisms by
oxidation of cellular material. Ozone is a strong oxidizing agent that is an unstable gas that is
generated by an electrical discharge through dry air or pure oxygen. Finally UV radiation generated by
sunlight, tanning lamp, black lights, and electrical discharge through mercury vapor, penetrates the
genetic material of microorganisms and retards their ability to reproduce (USEPA, N.D.). One of the
popular disinfection methods in water treatment is the Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection. The ultraviolet
(UV) disinfection is a physical disinfection of water. This paper would provide a broadly definition of
UV disinfection and its purpose in water treatment. Also, this paper will provide the advantages and
disadvantages of using the advance technology over the common technology in water treatment.

Vladimir Lenin Impact On Russia
Vladimir Lenin was a dedicated revolutionary who impacted Russia greatly from 1917 24, due to his
motivations of wanting to achieve a social utopian society. Lenin s ideology was inspired by Karl
Marx s theory of communism. Lenin created his own version of communism, Leninism, as Marx
stated that communism can only be achieved in a developed country, which Russia was not during this
time as peasants made up 84% of the population compared to the 4% that was the working class.
Lenin was able to change certain aspects in Russia such as the economy, society and the government
while in power.
Lenin was motivated by wanting to achieve a socialist state of utopia. His characteristics showed that
he was very dedicated, pragmatic and ruthless as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lenin relied on fear and terror to control the citizens of Russia. This lead to the establishment of the
Cheka in December 1917, which was the secret police that made sure consequences were given to
those who opposed the Bolshevik party and were considered as threats to the party. The Red Terror
was created in September 1918 to maintain political control. The Cheka was very similar to the secret
police the Tsar had called the Ohkrana, however the Cheka were more efficient and organised. Lenin
ended Russification, which was the idea that everyone had to speak Russian and believe in the
Church. This meant that the population had freedom of religion, providing that they put communism
before their beliefs. One of Lenin s greatest quotes from the April Thesis was Bread, Peace, Land .
Due to this, Lenin created the Land Decree, which meant that land was given back to the peasants and
also signed the Treaty of Brest Litovsk to end the war between Germany and Russia during World War
I (1914 1918) and created peace within Russia. Peace however, was not fulfilled as shortly after the
treaty was signed, civil war occurred in Russia. Richard Pipes, a historian, stated that the April Thesis,
were not in touch with reality if not simply mad . This indicates that Pipes believed that Lenin s
promises were impossible to achieve during 1917. Lenin also introduced education to all Russians,

Types Of Stress And Loss
Everyone at any given age is faced with different types of stress and loss. As human beings we
continuously evolve onto the next phase of our lives, which bring on new challenges and stress.
Ziegler (2014) indicated that it s a reminder that adult development encompasses both growth and
decline (Ziegler, 2014). Unfortunately, not everyone is equipped to deal with stress, consequently
resorting to maladaptive coping skills, such as: self indulging in over eating, smoking, and drinking
alcohol. Likewise, when dealing with loss, there are maladaptive coping skills, which are similar as
the ones described for stress, but also some may lash out or avoidance. On the other hand, others
adaptively and resiliently bounce back (Zeigler, 2014). Pollack (1988) stated, no matter how difficult
the situation, I will eventually find a way to cope with it (Pollack, 1988, p. 17). Pollack, is the example
of a person who through optimism, a good support network, resilience, and stress related growth, she
was able to get through stressful time by coping with the loss successfully (Ziegler, 2014). In 1988,
Pollack shares her own experience of losing her husband to colon cancer and how she managed to get
herself and family through it. I particularly learned something interesting about Pollack s experience,
as she stated, that she was grieving, long before his death (Pollack, 1988). Therefore, as she dealt with
her own reality, the ups and the downs, Pollack was ready to be confronted by

Differences between Protein Shake and Protein Steak
From the moment of its creation, protein powder has been engulfed in a tornado of controversy.
Doctors, scientists, and athletes have debated on whether or not it should be used for years. Protein
provides the building blocks for all cells and membranes, hormones and various growth factors. Elena
Voropay, a writer for Iron Man Magazine, says Protein is found literally everywhere in your system:
there is protein in your muscle tissues, your heart, in the enzymes that digest your food, in your skin
cells and even within your blood (Voropay 1).
Protein from whole food has been around since the creation of the world and the times of the hunter
gatherers. Those ages didn t have whey protein isolate, powdered casein protein, or any of those ...

The best selling protein shakes are all based on milk proteins. Protein in its powdered form is also
much lighter than a full meal. This comes into play when the protein shake is taken as a pre workout.
In that case, it is much better to eat a lighter shake before a HIT or high intensity training regimen,
otherwise the contents of your meal may end up on the gym floor instead of being absorbed for
nutrients.
It is important to choose a good, healthy protein powder because many companies aren t honest with
their product labels since their products aren t regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Nutrilite, a company who specializes in supplements and nutrition, is a company that is totally honest
about their labels. Nutrilite created the first multi vitamin well over fifty years ago. Their products are
pure and because they are organic, are considered whole food. This means that they are regulated by
the Food and Drug Administration. Also, they are the only one endorsed by the National Collegiate
Athlete Association (NCAA).
Some negatives when looking at powdered Protein products are that first and foremost, they lack the
supplemental nutrients that whole foods have to offer. For example, beef is high in iron, while salmon
is loaded with healthy fats. Yogurt provides calcium, and whole wheat supplies B vitamins. Dr.
Mercola, a chiropractor, healthy specialist and author, says that the whey protein isolates are devoid of

Children Dealing with Life and Death
Most children ponder the thought of what life would be like without their parents. They imagine how
amazing and fun a life filled with jokes and no rules would be. Not even having to go to school if you
did not want to. Except this is not how life works. When a parent dies and the reality sets in, it quickly
shows us that life is not all fun and games. The death of a parent is a devastating reality for any young
child to bare. This abrupt reality may have long lasting effects as each child has their own unique way
of perceiving life s events. In the blink of an eye ones world may be completely twisted around. This
kind of tragedy has the ability to shape a child in both negative and positive ways. They are now faced
with the task of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another type of death is one by tragedy that can be unexpected and can be more devastating than
prolonged death in that it occurs suddenly and without notice. More often than not parents die
unexpectedly and their children are left behind in a big scary world with no guidelines on how to
survive. In part this is because parents do not expect to die while their child or children are still young.
Planning ahead for the future can be difficult for parents emotionally as well as culturally and in some
cases even financially. Initially when a parent dies it seems as if they have all the support in the world
by people who love them. Most people seem to think that after a year or more children should be well
adjusted, happy and have made it through their traumatic loss. A child s perspective may seem
different in fact they may feel more alone. A child named Abby had this to say about that topic The
pain got worse! Because the initial shock wears off, people stop coming to your house, and you are
left....with yourself (Simon, Johnson 49). What most people do not realize is that they still are not
okay.
No one can completely prepare for the unknown when a child loses a parent no one can predict how
each child will grieve. The caretaker of the child who is grieving has the responsibility of trying to
understand the child s thoughts or questions. When a child s parent has died adjusting to a new way of
life can be extremely difficult

Comparison Of Copy Shop And Uncanny Valley
The short film genre, being defined as a film that is not long enough to be a feature film and generally
less than 40 minutes long, obviously is disadvantaged in terms of time compared to a feature film.
However, this lack of time lets the director make more personal choices, allowing them to send their
message in various ways. This is elucidated in short films Copy Shop, directed by Virgil Widrich, and
Uncanny Valley, which is directed by Federico Heller. Copy shop describes the loss of individuality
and uniqueness in today s society through the use of experimentation on unique film techniques while
Uncanny Valley demonstrates the power of technology, especially in games by using an emphasis on
aesthetics and visual techniques. Copy shop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire film is aesthetically striking, with rich colours and a detailed mise en scene. This is
especially conspicuous during the scenes of the gameplay, with an example being when the audience
is first introduced to the targets . The wide angle shot beautifully captures the humanoid creatures and
the landscape, with the 3D rendering and other special effects creating a visually dynamic scene. The
splendid visuals add allure to the game while showing the power of technology, as it was technology
that made the game so visually appealing. The accentuation on visual techniques also creates a
juxtaposition between the real world and the world of virtual reality. The dilapidated old building with
tattered walls and a dirty floor is contrasted to the splendid landscape laden with boulders and
volcanoes. This shows how the virtual reality can become more influential than the real world,
demonstrating the power of games. Heller also uses colour to show the distinction between virtual
reality and the actual world. The world of VR uses rich high contrast colours, an example being the
blue landscape with the orange skies, while the real world is dominated by the drab browns and greys.
As high contrast colours are more eye catching, it shows how games have power over the real world.
This emphasis on visual techniques in Uncanny Valley

Social Medi A Social Perspective Essay
For the baseline week, time spent on social media is 25 hours and 12 minutes, average 3 hours and 36
minutes per day. I spent more time on social media on weekends compared to weekdays where I
would have university. Antecedents are stimulus that precedes a behavior, events or actions occurring
before behavior that triggers behaviour(Weiten, 2013). This can be divided using biopsychosocial
model. For decreasing social media use, my most relevant antecedents are social or environmental
factors and psychological factors. Social or environmental antecedents include time I usually use
social media. I use social media after waking up and before sleeping. I use social media most in bed.
Another social antecedent is when I am in a social setting where my friends are using social media, I
am more likely to also check my social media. One psychological antecedent is when I am bored, I
will use social media. On weekends, I have more free time and hence use social media more, while I
am least likely to use social media when I am busy. On Thursday, I spent the shortest time as I had to
be in University all day. I will also use social media when I am studying as an avoidance behaviour.
When I reach a topic I feel is challenging, I want to procrastinate and seek instant gratification by
using social media, to avoid doing the challenging work. I will also use social media when I am taking
a break from my studies. Another psychological antecedent is feeling stress and anxiety. I use social

Final Paper
Death and life threatening illnesses is not a subject that one likes to talk about. It is more complex,
when the subject of wills and end of life desires arise. In this paper, I will be discussing ethical
situations that arise when dealing with this specific problem.
I will be talking about the potential consequences that the deceased family must deal with when a will
has not either been formed or performed properly. Next, I will be looking at the differences between
palliative and recuperative care; I will also give my view on who should be included in the decision to
alter care from recuperative to palliative. My next topic will be deliberating the issue of end of life ...

If one fails to execute a living will, a person might opt not to establish a power of attorney. This also
leads to difficulty for one to control the kind of medical treatment to adapt. Whenever an estate hits
intestate situation, the court will take responsibility and pay outstanding debts and expenses before
distribution the property takes place. When the court has to take the decision of the distribution of
property it will only take into consideration the family members on the deceased.
Question #2 www.nationalsensusproject.org, says that palliative care stands for patient and family
focused care that optimizes the quality of life anticipating, treating suffering, preventing. Palliative
care means continues continuum of illness that includes addressing physical, social, and emotional,
spirituals and intellectual needs and facilitation of autonomy. We can say palliative care is used to
explain pain management when individuals are either healthy or when individuals are in their process
of dying. Palliative care leads to the easing of suffering in physical and mental health without really
curing it. Health resources and service administrations define recuperative care as a short term medical
care, and the type of management offered to people who

The Life Of A Volunteer Job
Barry s POV
As I woke up from my all night food coma I woke up in my armor and decided to wear a simple
jogging outfit consisting of a wife beater and some dark sweat pants.
As I ran I pondered what I should do in this universe. I ran a couple miles until I ran past a hospital
next to a retirement home. Smart move there. I backtracked remembering how my father was a docter
and how I always loved helping people.
I made up my mind as I chose to enter the retirement home first to apply for a volunteer job, I figured
that not all of the elderly relish their time left on Earth and some have nothing really left for them here
and wish for the rest they ve earned. So killing two birds with one stone I could work here and release

As I walked out my clothes changed to a dark shirt regular leather jacket, jeans and boots. As I walked
the streets of this National City I saw the life flourishing around me until I noticed something odd.
When I saw one person I always saw their life force flowing inside them but on one person I saw
something weird. What I saw was their life force being drained by and small, invisible, human like
creature. In an instant I transformed and dashed over calling out my scythes to slash at it only for it to
vanish before me and the man falling limp into my arms. I laid him down banishing my scythes but as
I stood back up I just narrowly dodged a punch to the face by letting it faze through me.
As I rushed away I came face to face with... Kara Zor El better known as Supergirl. As she saw the
collapsed man she put my sudden appearance and his sudden collapsing as my doing, but then I saw
the small human floating behind Supergirl taunting me as I growled in frustration as lightning burst
from me, he began taunting me to catch him. I smirked at this getting into a running position. Then I
looked at the small human mouth something I haven t heard in a long time.

Why Do Baseball Players Take Steroids Unfair
The worlds worst problem in baseball taking steroids in baseball, which makes it an unfair game for
everyone around people who take steroids(Ashby 1). Barry Bonds is one example of someone who
took steroids, he holds the record for the most home runs hit in his whole career, but it really wasn t
fair at all because he took steroids. It isn t fair for anyone playing with someone who has steroids. This
essay will be about why steroids makes the game unfair. This paper has been written to tell you why
steroids makes the game unfair, why they should be banned, and how it affects the game.
Steroids make the game unfair because it makes the people that take steroids way stronger than a
person who doesn t take steroids(Fairchild 1). A guy using steroids would be hitting further than a
person not using steroids. That is cheating. There are many baseball players that have took steroids and
they are cheaters like Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez(Mitchell). If a player wants to get big they

The Innate And Adaptive Immune System
Although the innate and adaptive immune systems both function to protect against invading
organisms, they differ in a number of ways. The adaptive immune system requires some time to react
to an invading organism, whereas the innate immune system includes defenses that, for the most part,
are constitutively present and ready to be mobilized upon infection. Second, the adaptive immune
system is antigen specific and reacts only with the organism that induced the response. In contrast, the
innate system is not antigen specific and reacts equally well to a variety of organisms. Finally, the
adaptive immune system demonstrates immunological memory. It remembers that it has encountered
an invading organism and reacts more rapidly on subsequent

Analysis Of The Novel Dracula
Analysis of Dracula Although Dracula was not the first vampire novel, the effect that Bram Stoker s
creation had on the vampire genre is undisputable. At the time, it was written intellectual revelations
during the 19th century had begun to change what people fear. Archaic legends like vampire stories no
longer inspired terror in industrializing areas like Britain. What made Dracula widely successful was
the incorporation of modern themes and anxieties with the renowned archetype of the vampire. By
analyzing what makes Dracula a formidable monster, its becomes apparent what people feared during
that time it was written. This is true for modern adaptations of Dracula and the vampire monster as
well. Movies like Priest (2011) and the television show, The Strain (2014) both have unique twists that
play off modern anxieties. What makes Dracula appealing to me lies in his personality, or lack thereof.
After hundreds of years of being a vampire, Dracula has lost his humanity. He manipulates, charms,
and uses brutal force to live. However, Mina once infected, fights passionately to keep her humanity.
When reading Dracula, I often wondered how I would react if infected, to desperately cling to
humanity, or plunge into the darkness? Vampires are one of the oldest and widespread monster stories
in existence dating back to cultures such as the Mesopotamians, Ancient Greeks, and Romans. These
ancient cultures had myths about blood drinking spirts and demons. Although many specific

Biking Down The Mountain, My Mind Was Completely Clear Essay
Speeding down the mountain, my mind was completely clear. It was a freeing feeling from the usual
chaos in my everyday life. I could just forget everything when I was on the mountains. I was carving
through the snow and enjoying the white blanketed scenery. I had been snowboarding down the slope
when the next thing I remember is waking up on a stretcher being placed into an ambulance.
I was practically raised on the slopes. Living in Connecticut meant that we were able to enjoy a nice,
snowy winter every year so understandably, my family was very much into skiing. Whenever the first
snowfall came of the year, I knew a trip to the mountains was not too far away. We took trips up to the
ski mountains in Massachusetts and Vermont numerous times throughout the winter. We often visited
Butternut Ski Mountain and after many years of staying here for the weekends, it was like a second
home to me. It was a place to escape and to spend quality time with the family that we otherwise miss
between my brother and I in school and our parents at work.
After many years of skiing, I had decided to pick up snowboarding in 2009 to try something new. It
was an exhilarating change. I loved the rush of speeding down the mountain on my board, the snow
covered trees passing by. It was fun to feel fearless every once and a while since that was usually out
of character for me. In the winter of my sophomore year of high school, I took a trip up to Butternut

These formations of strategies are presented through Piaget, Concrete Operations.
The characteristics of the Concrete operation (Lightfoot, pg397 398) that we can focus on is identity,
logical necessity, conservation, and reversibility. Identify is where children realize that even though
the child is tagged by the person who is it there is no addition or subtraction of anything from the child
to alter the child, personality or form. Through logical necessity they are appeared frozen, following
the rules of the game and thorough logical reasoning they are able to determine, that they are not
actually frozen but rather they are pretending to be. Children comprehends that the person who was
tagged is not actually frozen but rather they are only their appearance is view so, acting like they are
frozen shows signs of the ability to understand, conservation. They also, are able to apply reversibility
to the game, understanding that the person who is frozen can be un frozen after they been tagged by
the person who is it , by the same action of another player tagging them.
Their mental operation is more pronounced, capable to assess their own thoughts and is more
organized in their thought process, able to think about different solution, ideas and alternatives, as well
as the cause and effects of their actions.

How has the rise of social media technologies affected political stabilities in the Middle East?
Background of the study
Middle East countries have been faced by a challenge where leaders lock information. Locking
information has resulted to limitation on the flow of information inside Middle East and to the
external world. Out of this challenge, democracy in the Middle East has been suppressed and citizens
left to suffer. Leaders refuse to listen to the people they rule and dictatorship followed course. This
reached to a situation whereby citizens organize themselves with an objective to protest in their

American literature How Anne Bradstreet confronts puritan view of gender
Anna Bradstreet grows up in a healthy family. She was the daughter of Thomas Dudley who is the
manager of the country estate of the Puritan Earl of Lincoln. Anna Bradstreet got married at the age of
16 to the young Simon Bradstreet who was working with Anna father. Anna Bradstreet never went to
school but her father always taught her and gave her an education. It that time many women didn t
have an education. Anna considers one of the best and most important American poets. When
Bradstreet was a little girl, she writes poems to honor and please her father. After she got married, she
kept writing and it marriage didn t stop her. Her brother in law, John Woodbridge, pastor of the

Jainism Religion In The Classroom
Jainism Religion in the Classroom
The Jain religion originated more than twenty five hundred years ago, around the 6th century BC, on
the Indian sub continent about the same time as Buddhism.2 There are several shared beliefs between
Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, such as nonviolence(ahimsa), reincarnation, and karma. The essence
behind the development of Jainism was to have a path to reunite and purify oneself in order to free
oneself from the cycle of karma, which in turn allows one to enter into a state of eternal liberation
from rebirth (kevala). The only way a person can attain kevala is through very intentional and
thorough practice of nonviolence.2 Per Jains, everything is alive in some sense, from rocks to trees, all
matter has a pulse, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jain is completely vegetarian, but even more it also excludes potatoes, onions, and garlic.3 All
approved food is called sattvic and all food that are prohibited or lesser than ideal is tamasic .1 Jain
object to the consumption of all meat, fish and eggs (all animals products) are based on the principle
of non violence.3 However, this idea of restraining from animals products is not just reserved for
ascetic Jains, in fact now it is quite common to see several vegan or vegetarian restaurants on just one
street in India. This is due to the influence of Jain monks and their dietary choices, and those same
ideas have now transferred into non Jain communities as well.1 This would be important for students
in a college classroom setting because it is connected to India, which has one of the largest population
per square mile of any country. Which in turn means that there is a high likelihood of a student having
to conduct business or even go to school with someone from India, and it would be an added benefit if
the student could understand a little bit more about the Indian culture and where that person was

Cross Country Practice
My phone lit up with a text that read Hey you should come to practice today! I knew it was from my
well meaning best friend, but I could not summon the motivation to get out of bed on a late August
morning in order to go run. At cross country practice. I dragged my feet for a few days but after many
more encouraging morning texts, I finally got out of bed, laced up my shoes, and asked my mom to
drive me to the green belt. I was joining cross country. Having never run a full mile in my life, I was
absolutely sure that running for no good reason every day would be a complete flop and I would quit
after a few days. I was dead wrong. Cross country would not let me quit. It not only would not let me
quit, but it taught me to not be a quitter. My four years on the cross country team taught me so much
more than how to run. I learned some of the most valuable lessons of my life through cross country.
Most years, we had a quote on the back of our game day shirts. One of my favorite quotes read, Pain
is inevitable, suffering is optional. This quote is not only relevant to running but to life as well. Every
person will experience pain in their lives just as every person will experience pain while running and
training. Suffering is often a choice. It can easily be self inflicted, and, just as easily, be avoided. This
quote encouraged me to push through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

can be applied to life. While a little healthy competition never hurts anyone, constant comparison
does. Through cross country, I was reminded daily to not compare my weakness to someone else s

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to document the genetic disease hypertrichosis. Using articles, and web
sources we will outline the history, genetic basis, and different treatments of this genetic disease.
Hypertrichosis literal meaning is excess of hair growth. The elemental genetic defect remains
unknown because there are many factors at work. There is a debate if hypertrichosis is an autosomal
or X linked disease, since there have been documented cases of both. However, there are certain
chromosomal defects that have proven to be present in many patients. Certain diseases and
environmental triggers are known to be associated with hypertrichosis. Although this disease is
nonfatal, it can be embarrassing and unpleasant for the patient. Excess hair can manifest itself on the
hands, face, and body. There are few treatments aside from cosmetic procedures. There remains no
known cure for hypertrichosis.
HISTORY OF HYPERTRICHOSIS
Hypertrichosis is a unique and rare disease of its time, exemplifying characteristics of having
excessive hair growth covering the entire body. Very little is known about this hypertrichosis because
of how scarce it is. The manifestation, and genetic causes vary when it comes to this disease as well.
These factors as well as others have made this

Claudio Monteverdi vs. Domenico Scarlatti Essay
A comparison of two major Baroque composers: Claudio Monteverdi and Domenico Scarlatti The
purpose of this paper is to analyze two psalms by Claudio Giovanni Antonio Monteverdi (1567 1643)
and Giovanni Domenico Scarlatti (1685 1757) and compare and contrast the two pieces to find out
how music changed throughout the Baroque period.
While historians grouped music of the Baroque period together based on certain characteristics, the
music did not remain the same throughout the period, as it would not for any other musical time
period. Composers from different points in the Baroque period were chosen, but the things the two
composers had in common were the country of residence and their nationality. Special care was taken
to chose composers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is octave doubling in the bass, and the fifth occurs often since it was considered to be perfect or
somehow godly. What makes this psalm different from Scarlatti s other psalms is that it is the only
psalm that exhibits an organized concerto style. This psalm is also written in Latin, and has no
indicated dynamics. It begins in D major, and switches to A and E major, and b and a minor
throughout the setting, and ends back on D major. The piece does have some ornamentation,
consisting of argued trills. The argument comes from odd markings on the original manuscript. Some
people feel that the markings were just hastily drawn trills, while others feel they may actually be
mordants. In the newest transcription, they have all been transcribed as trills. The main reason for the
lack of ornamentation put into the music is an attempt to make the music less frilly. In the Baroque era
this tooking away from the sacred message it was supposed to send.
While both pieces are a part of each composer s library of sacred music, they are in some respects not
very much alike and in others they are very similar. There are the obvious things they have in common
such as the fact that they are written in Latin. That is not too surprising considering some churches
still used Latin as the primary language in their services, even though in the Baroque period many
churches began using the vernacular so the patrons would understand the services. Aside from that,
Monteverdi, being more

It seems strange to me at first but on the other hand it s also weird for them that we Indonesian people

Friendships Vs. Same-Sex Relationships
In 1997, Dave Hill wrote The Future of Men, where he forecasts that the future will involve men and
women alike accommodating more flexible models of masculinity which acknowledge many features
in common with femininity ...[which does] not denigrate either those men who do not exhibit the same
masculine traits or those women who do. (Hill, 1997, p. 52) However, when considering same sex
versus cross sex friendships of college students, men and women to this day still perform different
identities, therefore, resulting in having more frequent stronger same sex friendships than cross sex
friendships. Friendship ideals and norms considerably influence preference of friendships and the
probability of having a strong intersectional friendship. Most men and women have different
friendship ideals and norms from one another. It is imperative to provide a definition for friendship.
Hays (as cited in Demir and Orthel, 2011) defines friendship as a voluntary interdependence between
two persons over time, that is intended to facilitate socio emotional goals of the participants, and may
involve varying types and degrees of companionship, intimacy, affection and mutual assistance (p
175). For understanding purposes, future use of the term relationship specifically refers to a
connection or association between two or more people that is independent of romantic relationship.

Oxidative Stress
Module ten discussed oxidative stress, and the causes, as well as consequences of liver disorders.
Oxidative stress occurs when there is an abnormal balance between nonspecific oxidation reactions,
and the body s ability to counteract them. A nonspecific oxidation reaction refers to one that involves
free radicals reacting in a disorderly fashion with other molecules. Free radicals are highly reactive
molecules that can cause cellular damage, targeting that of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic
acids. Free radicals within the body can lead to fragmentation of proteins causing them to have an
abnormal function, oxidize polysaturated lipids at their double bond causing disruption in the
membrane function, and cause mutations in DNA. Antioxidants react directly with free radicals in the
body to render them inactive. Some antioxidant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Glutathione and uric acid are antioxidants that are made by the cells. Glutathione performs most of its
antioxidant activity within the cell, while uric acid does most of its antioxidant activity in the blood
plasma. The antioxidants, which can be obtained from the diet, include vitamin C, vitamin E,
carotenoids and selenium. The liver disorders discussed were that of a fatty liver and alcoholic liver
disease. A fatty liver is a disorder that is characterized by the accumulation of triglycerides within liver
cells, causing the liver to enlarge up to three times its normal size. The accumulation of triglycerides
in the liver will cause the liver to have a yellow appearance. A fatty liver can be caused several ways,
such as obesity, protein energy malnutrition, metabolic disorders, and chronic alcohol consumption.
The treatment for a fatty liver depends on the cause for the fatty liver. For example, if a fatty liver is
caused by chronic alcohol consumption, then the patient would need to stop consuming alcohol in
order to reverse the damage.

Rough Guide To Exoplanets
Alex s Rough Guide to Exoplanets
Intro
By exploring outer space, astronomers have found distant planets, called exoplanets. Properties of
these planets can be determined by using various techniques and technology.
The definition of an exoplanet is a planet that orbits a star outside our solar system. The first exoplanet
was discovered in 1995.
Nowadays techniques are becoming more refined and by using them predictions can be made based on
the many data points that we have for these planets. For example the presence of certain elements can
be detected via spectroscopy and then that data can be used to aid a prediction into a planet s climate.
Because there are so many factors that determine properties such as climate the more data gathered ...

This is because for a planet to be detected it must have an orbit that transits between the observation
point and the star. This means that the planet must orbit in a very specific plane and that the plane
becomes smaller for planets that orbit at a greater distance from their host star. So planets that are
detected using the transit method are usually planets known as Hot Jupiters . To break down this
description it means that these planets are comparable to Jupiter because of their size and density, and
are described as being hot due to their closeness to their host star (usually between 0.015 and 0.05
AU) and the high surface temperature that comes with that closeness. Also if the host star is small
such as a neutron star then the size of the plane that a transit is visible in is also reduced.
Another drawback is that the amount of false positive candidates is higher than many other methods
and it s thought that, in some cases, as many as 35% of detected planets from Kepler are false. This
means that in some cases follow up investigation is required before a planet can be confirmed. A
common source of false positives is caused by fluctuations in the star s brightness which are not
caused due to a transiting planet but are often hard to differentiate and so they can cause false
negatives

Paul Lawrence theory explains about the human nature and it describes about the four factors that will
affect the human nature and these factors are bond ,acquire, learn and defend. These factors also called

drives cannot be satisfied at a time.
The first drive is acquire, and it describes how a human improve his status by acquiring experiences

it will make by mutual understanding and sharing.Employees working in a group have the advantage
of managing the organization in a better way.

in the environment then he will come to know that how things are working .If he has a job then he has
the opportunity of developing his knowledge in his field.
The fourth factor is defend,it describes how humans protect themselves if they feel any harm on their

Civility In Lord Of The Flies Essay
In the Lord of the Flies Golding shows us the biggest threat to humanity is humanity itself and the
absence of civilization causes a quick descent into chaos. A group of boys stranded on a remote island

egos; there s Piggy the good doer, Jack humanity if left unchecked, Ralph the good results of limited
power, Roger the corruption, and Simon the level headed. Free from the organization and rules of
society the boys plummet into barbaric savagery. On the island free from authority the boys lost their

In Golding s novel, the lack of civilization and the corruption of power results in the deterioration of
the boys morals and the loss of their integrity. Due to the lack of authority the boys seem to have no
direction and can barely survive. Although, the boys do adopt civil rules and civility among each
other, but with authority and power comes rebellion and a desire for more power. Lord of the Flies
suggests that tyranny is the antithesis of civilization and the desires of power disintegrated the unity of
the boys group and caused many unnecessary deaths. There are many examples of the corruption of
power and the downfall of humanity due to the loss of civilization and authority. An example of the
corruption of power is the difference in the way Ralph rules and the way Jack rules; As a ruler Ralph
seemed to get more mature and when Jack made his own tribe he became savage and craving more
power, this is proof that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Being stranded on the island left the boys
left them without direction and consequence, the result proves that a society without laws or
enforcement of those laws, will unavoidably fail. Roger s behavior emphasizes this point. Earlier on in
the book he throws rocks at the littluns but doesn t necessarily aim to hit them because he

The Indian National Congress ( Inc )
In May 2014, Indian politics took a historic step into a new direction. Since the beginning of Indian
independence from Great Britain, there have been two dominant political parties that controlled
progression of the nation. The Indian National Congress (INC), one of those parties, was led by the
Gandhi family predominantly. The Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, contrasted the INC in almost every
possible way. Nationalist leaders emerged from the working class and opposed INC actions. These
two parties rotate in and out of power. The election in May 2014 resulted in a huge win for the BJP.
Manmohan Singh, the previous Prime Minister and member of the INC, relinquished control of the
Parliament. The ten year INC control of Parliament was officially ended in 2014. The relationship
between the INC and BJP has been very similar to the relationship between Democrats and
Republicans in the United States. Unfortunately, the rift has caused a lot of differences in platform
focus. The INC promotes a globalized nation with international ties to strong and dominant countries.
For example, Manmohan Singh, worked very closely with the United States to increase India s nuclear
power. The BJP has different priorities. They are wedded to India s unity and integrity, its intrinsic
identity and the social strength, individual character and cultural uniqueness that have been the
hallmark of this great country and its people for millennia (BJP, 2014). The BJP focuses on the

Wal Mart Stores Perhaps one of the most commonly cited success stories in supply chain management
(SCM) is that of Wal Mart Stores, Inc., which reported total sales of $191.329 billion and a net income
of $6.295 billion during the fiscal year ended January 31, 2001 (see www.walmartstores.com). These
figures represent a 15.9% growth in total sales and a 17.1% increase in net income over the

Under such a system, the vendor subject to bounds previously agreed upon with the retailer decides on
the appropriate levels of inventory to carry at the retail stores, as well as the corresponding inventory
policies to maintain such levels. In the P G and Wal Mart partnership, P G committed to the
development of a dedicated team to handle the Wal Mart account. A primary objective of this team is
to facilitate information sharing between the two firms and address logistics, supply, management
information systems, accounting, finance, and other issues (Handfield and Nichols, 1999). Under this
arrangement, Wal Mart shares point of sale information from retail outlets directly with P G, giving
the latter easy access to information on consumer transactions and buying patterns. P G s dedicated
Wal Mart account team effectively takes responsibility for the marketing and sales of P G products
within Wal Mart stores. Similar VMI partnerships with other giant retailers have been established by P
G. These partnerships have dramatically improved P G s on time deliveries to Wal Mart and the other
retailers while increasing inventory turnovers (Simchi Levi, et al, 2000; Handfield and Nichols, 1999).
At the same time, they save the retailer a significant amount of managerial and other resources, and

Water disinfection means eliminating or inactivate of growth and reproduction in pathogenic microorganisms by creating cell wall corrosion in the cells of microorganisms, or changes in cell permeability. From the water treatment process, disinfection is a sufficient and the crucial process in order to inactivate bacteria, viruses and pathogenic organisms that can waterborne diseases to downstream users and the environment (USEPA, 1999). There are three most common methods of disinfection in the U.S., which are Chlorination, Ozonation, and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection. Chlorine, the most widely used disinfectant for municipal wastewater, destroys target organisms by oxidation of cellular material. Ozone is a strong oxidizing agent that is an unstable gas that is generated by an electrical discharge through dry air or pure oxygen. Finally UV radiation generated by sunlight, tanning lamp, black lights, and electrical discharge through mercury vapor, penetrates the genetic material of microorganisms and retards their ability to reproduce (USEPA, N.D.). One of the popular disinfection methods in water treatment is the Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection. The ultraviolet (UV) disinfection is a physical disinfection of water. This paper would provide a broadly definition of UV disinfection and its purpose in water treatment. Also, this paper will provide the advantages and disadvantages of using the advance technology over the common technology in water treatment. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Vladimir Lenin Impact On Russia Vladimir Lenin was a dedicated revolutionary who impacted Russia greatly from 1917 24, due to his motivations of wanting to achieve a social utopian society. Lenin s ideology was inspired by Karl Marx s theory of communism. Lenin created his own version of communism, Leninism, as Marx stated that communism can only be achieved in a developed country, which Russia was not during this time as peasants made up 84% of the population compared to the 4% that was the working class. Lenin was able to change certain aspects in Russia such as the economy, society and the government while in power. Lenin was motivated by wanting to achieve a socialist state of utopia. His characteristics showed that he was very dedicated, pragmatic and ruthless as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lenin relied on fear and terror to control the citizens of Russia. This lead to the establishment of the Cheka in December 1917, which was the secret police that made sure consequences were given to those who opposed the Bolshevik party and were considered as threats to the party. The Red Terror was created in September 1918 to maintain political control. The Cheka was very similar to the secret police the Tsar had called the Ohkrana, however the Cheka were more efficient and organised. Lenin ended Russification, which was the idea that everyone had to speak Russian and believe in the Church. This meant that the population had freedom of religion, providing that they put communism before their beliefs. One of Lenin s greatest quotes from the April Thesis was Bread, Peace, Land . Due to this, Lenin created the Land Decree, which meant that land was given back to the peasants and also signed the Treaty of Brest Litovsk to end the war between Germany and Russia during World War I (1914 1918) and created peace within Russia. Peace however, was not fulfilled as shortly after the treaty was signed, civil war occurred in Russia. Richard Pipes, a historian, stated that the April Thesis, were not in touch with reality if not simply mad . This indicates that Pipes believed that Lenin s promises were impossible to achieve during 1917. Lenin also introduced education to all Russians, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Types Of Stress And Loss Everyone at any given age is faced with different types of stress and loss. As human beings we continuously evolve onto the next phase of our lives, which bring on new challenges and stress. Ziegler (2014) indicated that it s a reminder that adult development encompasses both growth and decline (Ziegler, 2014). Unfortunately, not everyone is equipped to deal with stress, consequently resorting to maladaptive coping skills, such as: self indulging in over eating, smoking, and drinking alcohol. Likewise, when dealing with loss, there are maladaptive coping skills, which are similar as the ones described for stress, but also some may lash out or avoidance. On the other hand, others adaptively and resiliently bounce back (Zeigler, 2014). Pollack (1988) stated, no matter how difficult the situation, I will eventually find a way to cope with it (Pollack, 1988, p. 17). Pollack, is the example of a person who through optimism, a good support network, resilience, and stress related growth, she was able to get through stressful time by coping with the loss successfully (Ziegler, 2014). In 1988, Pollack shares her own experience of losing her husband to colon cancer and how she managed to get herself and family through it. I particularly learned something interesting about Pollack s experience, as she stated, that she was grieving, long before his death (Pollack, 1988). Therefore, as she dealt with her own reality, the ups and the downs, Pollack was ready to be confronted by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Differences between Protein Shake and Protein Steak From the moment of its creation, protein powder has been engulfed in a tornado of controversy. Doctors, scientists, and athletes have debated on whether or not it should be used for years. Protein provides the building blocks for all cells and membranes, hormones and various growth factors. Elena Voropay, a writer for Iron Man Magazine, says Protein is found literally everywhere in your system: there is protein in your muscle tissues, your heart, in the enzymes that digest your food, in your skin cells and even within your blood (Voropay 1). Protein from whole food has been around since the creation of the world and the times of the hunter gatherers. Those ages didn t have whey protein isolate, powdered casein protein, or any of those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The best selling protein shakes are all based on milk proteins. Protein in its powdered form is also much lighter than a full meal. This comes into play when the protein shake is taken as a pre workout. In that case, it is much better to eat a lighter shake before a HIT or high intensity training regimen, otherwise the contents of your meal may end up on the gym floor instead of being absorbed for nutrients. It is important to choose a good, healthy protein powder because many companies aren t honest with their product labels since their products aren t regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Nutrilite, a company who specializes in supplements and nutrition, is a company that is totally honest about their labels. Nutrilite created the first multi vitamin well over fifty years ago. Their products are pure and because they are organic, are considered whole food. This means that they are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Also, they are the only one endorsed by the National Collegiate Athlete Association (NCAA). Some negatives when looking at powdered Protein products are that first and foremost, they lack the supplemental nutrients that whole foods have to offer. For example, beef is high in iron, while salmon is loaded with healthy fats. Yogurt provides calcium, and whole wheat supplies B vitamins. Dr. Mercola, a chiropractor, healthy specialist and author, says that the whey protein isolates are devoid of nutritional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Children Dealing with Life and Death Most children ponder the thought of what life would be like without their parents. They imagine how amazing and fun a life filled with jokes and no rules would be. Not even having to go to school if you did not want to. Except this is not how life works. When a parent dies and the reality sets in, it quickly shows us that life is not all fun and games. The death of a parent is a devastating reality for any young child to bare. This abrupt reality may have long lasting effects as each child has their own unique way of perceiving life s events. In the blink of an eye ones world may be completely twisted around. This kind of tragedy has the ability to shape a child in both negative and positive ways. They are now faced with the task of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another type of death is one by tragedy that can be unexpected and can be more devastating than prolonged death in that it occurs suddenly and without notice. More often than not parents die unexpectedly and their children are left behind in a big scary world with no guidelines on how to survive. In part this is because parents do not expect to die while their child or children are still young. Planning ahead for the future can be difficult for parents emotionally as well as culturally and in some cases even financially. Initially when a parent dies it seems as if they have all the support in the world by people who love them. Most people seem to think that after a year or more children should be well adjusted, happy and have made it through their traumatic loss. A child s perspective may seem different in fact they may feel more alone. A child named Abby had this to say about that topic The pain got worse! Because the initial shock wears off, people stop coming to your house, and you are left....with yourself (Simon, Johnson 49). What most people do not realize is that they still are not okay. No one can completely prepare for the unknown when a child loses a parent no one can predict how each child will grieve. The caretaker of the child who is grieving has the responsibility of trying to understand the child s thoughts or questions. When a child s parent has died adjusting to a new way of life can be extremely difficult ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Comparison Of Copy Shop And Uncanny Valley The short film genre, being defined as a film that is not long enough to be a feature film and generally less than 40 minutes long, obviously is disadvantaged in terms of time compared to a feature film. However, this lack of time lets the director make more personal choices, allowing them to send their message in various ways. This is elucidated in short films Copy Shop, directed by Virgil Widrich, and Uncanny Valley, which is directed by Federico Heller. Copy shop describes the loss of individuality and uniqueness in today s society through the use of experimentation on unique film techniques while Uncanny Valley demonstrates the power of technology, especially in games by using an emphasis on aesthetics and visual techniques. Copy shop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The entire film is aesthetically striking, with rich colours and a detailed mise en scene. This is especially conspicuous during the scenes of the gameplay, with an example being when the audience is first introduced to the targets . The wide angle shot beautifully captures the humanoid creatures and the landscape, with the 3D rendering and other special effects creating a visually dynamic scene. The splendid visuals add allure to the game while showing the power of technology, as it was technology that made the game so visually appealing. The accentuation on visual techniques also creates a juxtaposition between the real world and the world of virtual reality. The dilapidated old building with tattered walls and a dirty floor is contrasted to the splendid landscape laden with boulders and volcanoes. This shows how the virtual reality can become more influential than the real world, demonstrating the power of games. Heller also uses colour to show the distinction between virtual reality and the actual world. The world of VR uses rich high contrast colours, an example being the blue landscape with the orange skies, while the real world is dominated by the drab browns and greys. As high contrast colours are more eye catching, it shows how games have power over the real world. This emphasis on visual techniques in Uncanny Valley ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Antecedents are stimulus that precedes a behavior, events or actions occurring before behavior that triggers behaviour(Weiten, 2013). This can be divided using biopsychosocial model. For decreasing social media use, my most relevant antecedents are social or environmental factors and psychological factors. Social or environmental antecedents include time I usually use social media. I use social media after waking up and before sleeping. I use social media most in bed. Another social antecedent is when I am in a social setting where my friends are using social media, I am more likely to also check my social media. One psychological antecedent is when I am bored, I will use social media. On weekends, I have more free time and hence use social media more, while I am least likely to use social media when I am busy. Second, the adaptive immune system is antigen specific and reacts only with the organism that induced the response. At the time, it was written intellectual revelations during the 19th century had begun to change what people fear. Archaic legends like vampire stories no longer inspired terror in industrializing areas like Britain. What made Dracula widely successful was the incorporation of modern themes and anxieties with the renowned archetype of the vampire. By analyzing what makes Dracula a formidable monster, its becomes apparent what people feared during that time it was written. This is true for modern adaptations of Dracula and the vampire monster as well. Movies like Priest (2011) and the television show, The Strain (2014) both have unique twists that play off modern anxieties. What makes Dracula appealing to me lies in his personality, or lack thereof. After hundreds of years of being a vampire, Dracula has lost his humanity. He manipulates, charms, and uses brutal force to live. However, Mina once infected, fights passionately to keep her humanity. When reading Dracula, I often wondered how I would react if infected, to desperately cling to humanity, or plunge into the darkness? I could just forget everything when I was on the mountains. I was carving through the snow and enjoying the white blanketed scenery. I had been snowboarding down the slope when the next thing I remember is waking up on a stretcher being placed into an ambulance. I was practically raised on the slopes. Living in Connecticut meant that we were able to enjoy a nice, snowy winter every year so understandably, my family was very much into skiing. Using articles, and web sources we will outline the history, genetic basis, and different treatments of this genetic disease. Hypertrichosis literal meaning is excess of hair growth. The elemental genetic defect remains unknown because there are many factors at work. There is a debate if hypertrichosis is an autosomal or X linked disease, since there have been documented cases of both. However, there are certain chromosomal defects that have proven to be present in many patients. Certain diseases and environmental triggers are known to be associated with hypertrichosis. Although this disease is nonfatal, it can be embarrassing and unpleasant for the patient. Excess hair can manifest itself on the hands, face, and body. There are few treatments aside from cosmetic procedures. There remains no known cure for hypertrichosis. HISTORY OF HYPERTRICHOSIS Hypertrichosis is a unique and rare disease of its time, exemplifying characteristics of having excessive hair growth covering the entire body. What makes this psalm different from Scarlatti s other psalms is that it is the only psalm that exhibits an organized concerto style. This psalm is also written in Latin, and has no indicated dynamics. It begins in D major, and switches to A and E major, and b and a minor throughout the setting, and ends back on D major. The piece does have some ornamentation, consisting of argued trills. The argument comes from odd markings on the original manuscript. Some people feel that the markings were just hastily drawn trills, while others feel they may actually be mordants. In the newest transcription, they have all been transcribed as trills. The main reason for the lack of ornamentation put into the music is an attempt to make the music less frilly. In the Baroque era this tooking away from the sacred message it was supposed to send. While both pieces are a part of each composer s library of sacred music, they are in some respects not very much alike and in others they are very similar. There are the obvious things they have in common such as the fact that they are written in Latin. (Hill, 1997, p. 52) However, when considering same sex versus cross sex friendships of college students, men and women to this day still perform different identities, therefore, resulting in having more frequent stronger same sex friendships than cross sex friendships. Friendship ideals and norms considerably influence preference of friendships and the probability of having a strong intersectional friendship. Most men and women have different friendship ideals and norms from one another. It is imperative to provide a definition for friendship. Hays (as cited in Demir and Orthel, 2011) defines friendship as a voluntary interdependence between two persons over time, that is intended to facilitate socio emotional goals of the participants, and may involve varying types and degrees of companionship, intimacy, affection and mutual assistance (p 175). For understanding purposes, future use of the term relationship specifically refers to a connection or association between two or more people that is independent of romantic relationship. According to Demir and Orthel (2011) every individual has a comparison level (CL), which is greatly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Oxidative Stress Module ten discussed oxidative stress, and the causes, as well as consequences of liver disorders. Oxidative stress occurs when there is an abnormal balance between nonspecific oxidation reactions, and the body s ability to counteract them. A nonspecific oxidation reaction refers to one that involves free radicals reacting in a disorderly fashion with other molecules. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that can cause cellular damage, targeting that of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. Free radicals within the body can lead to fragmentation of proteins causing them to have an abnormal function, oxidize polysaturated lipids at their double bond causing disruption in the membrane function, and cause mutations in DNA. Antioxidants react directly with free radicals in the body to render them inactive. Some antioxidant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Glutathione and uric acid are antioxidants that are made by the cells. Glutathione performs most of its antioxidant activity within the cell, while uric acid does most of its antioxidant activity in the blood plasma. The antioxidants, which can be obtained from the diet, include vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids and selenium. The liver disorders discussed were that of a fatty liver and alcoholic liver disease. A fatty liver is a disorder that is characterized by the accumulation of triglycerides within liver cells, causing the liver to enlarge up to three times its normal size. The accumulation of triglycerides in the liver will cause the liver to have a yellow appearance. A fatty liver can be caused several ways, such as obesity, protein energy malnutrition, metabolic disorders, and chronic alcohol consumption. The treatment for a fatty liver depends on the cause for the fatty liver. For example, if a fatty liver is caused by chronic alcohol consumption, then the patient would need to stop consuming alcohol in order to reverse the damage. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Rough Guide To Exoplanets Alex s Rough Guide to Exoplanets Intro By exploring outer space, astronomers have found distant planets, called exoplanets. Properties of these planets can be determined by using various techniques and technology. The definition of an exoplanet is a planet that orbits a star outside our solar system. The first exoplanet was discovered in 1995. Nowadays techniques are becoming more refined and by using them predictions can be made based on the many data points that we have for these planets. For example the presence of certain elements can be detected via spectroscopy and then that data can be used to aid a prediction into a planet s climate. Because there are so many factors that determine properties such as climate the more data gathered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because for a planet to be detected it must have an orbit that transits between the observation point and the star. This means that the planet must orbit in a very specific plane and that the plane becomes smaller for planets that orbit at a greater distance from their host star. So planets that are detected using the transit method are usually planets known as Hot Jupiters . To break down this description it means that these planets are comparable to Jupiter because of their size and density, and are described as being hot due to their closeness to their host star (usually between 0.015 and 0.05 AU) and the high surface temperature that comes with that closeness. Also if the host star is small such as a neutron star then the size of the plane that a transit is visible in is also reduced. Another drawback is that the amount of false positive candidates is higher than many other methods and it s thought that, in some cases, as many as 35% of detected planets from Kepler are false. This means that in some cases follow up investigation is required before a planet can be confirmed. A common source of false positives is caused by fluctuations in the star s brightness which are not caused due to a transiting planet but are often hard to differentiate and so they can cause false negatives ... • 34. Civility In Lord Of The Flies Essay In the Lord of the Flies Golding shows us the biggest threat to humanity is humanity itself and the absence of civilization causes a quick descent into chaos. A group of boys stranded on a remote island come face to face with the beast within. In the story there are characters that represent the different egos; there s Piggy the good doer, Jack humanity if left unchecked, Ralph the good results of limited power, Roger the corruption, and Simon the level headed. Free from the organization and rules of society the boys plummet into barbaric savagery. On the island free from authority the boys lost their identity and direction. In Golding s novel, the lack of civilization and the corruption of power results in the deterioration of the boys morals and the loss of their integrity. Due to the lack of authority the boys seem to have no direction and can barely survive. Although, the boys do adopt civil rules and civility among each other, but with authority and power comes rebellion and a desire for more power. Lord of the Flies suggests that tyranny is the antithesis of civilization and the desires of power disintegrated the unity of the boys group and caused many unnecessary deaths. There are many examples of the corruption of power and the downfall of humanity due to the loss of civilization and authority. An example of the corruption of power is the difference in the way Ralph rules and the way Jack rules; As a ruler Ralph seemed to get more mature and when Jack made his own tribe he became savage and craving more power, this is proof that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Being stranded on the island left the boys left them without direction and consequence, the result proves that a society without laws or enforcement of those laws, will unavoidably fail. Roger s behavior emphasizes this point. Earlier on in the book he throws rocks at the littluns but doesn t necessarily aim to hit them because he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Indian National Congress ( Inc ) In May 2014, Indian politics took a historic step into a new direction. Since the beginning of Indian independence from Great Britain, there have been two dominant political parties that controlled progression of the nation. The Indian National Congress (INC), one of those parties, was led by the Gandhi family predominantly. The Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, contrasted the INC in almost every possible way. Nationalist leaders emerged from the working class and opposed INC actions. These two parties rotate in and out of power. The election in May 2014 resulted in a huge win for the BJP. Manmohan Singh, the previous Prime Minister and member of the INC, relinquished control of the Parliament. The ten year INC control of Parliament was officially ended in 2014. The relationship between the INC and BJP has been very similar to the relationship between Democrats and Republicans in the United States. Unfortunately, the rift has caused a lot of differences in platform focus. The INC promotes a globalized nation with international ties to strong and dominant countries. For example, Manmohan Singh, worked very closely with the United States to increase India s nuclear power. The BJP has different priorities. They are wedded to India s unity and integrity, its intrinsic identity and the social strength, individual character and cultural uniqueness that have been the hallmark of this great country and its people for millennia (BJP, 2014). The BJP focuses on the cultural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Under such a system, the vendor subject to bounds previously agreed upon with the retailer decides on the appropriate levels of inventory to carry at the retail stores, as well as the corresponding inventory policies to maintain such levels. In the P G and Wal Mart partnership, P G committed to the development of a dedicated team to handle the Wal Mart account. A primary objective of this team is to facilitate information sharing between the two firms and address logistics, supply, management information systems, accounting, finance, and other issues (Handfield and Nichols, 1999). Under this arrangement, Wal Mart shares point of sale information from retail outlets directly with P G, giving the latter easy access to information on consumer transactions and buying patterns. P G s dedicated Wal Mart account team effectively takes responsibility for the marketing and sales of P G products within Wal Mart stores. Similar VMI partnerships with other giant retailers have been established by P G. These partnerships have dramatically improved P G s on time deliveries to Wal Mart and the other retailers while increasing inventory turnovers (Simchi Levi, et al, 2000; Handfield and Nichols, 1999). At the same time, they save the retailer a significant amount of managerial and other resources, and demonstrate how information sharing leads to mutual advantage for both ...
