CO2 is released as a waste product. The 2 carbon acetyl group binds to coenzyme A. At this point, the
process starts to move into the mitochondria and the Krebs Cycle is initiated. There is a net gain of 2
ATP and 2 molecules of NADH produced.
During Krebs Cycle, the acetyl CoA breaks down further into two molecules of carbon dioxide during
each turn of the cycle. In the process, the molecules FAD and NAD are reduced to FADH2 and
NADH. 2 ATP is generated during the Krebs Cycle.
The reduced FADH2 and NADH enter the Electron Transport System where they are re oxidized to
FAD and NAD. These electrons release energy which forms 32 ATP molecules.
During aerobic respiration, there is a total net gain of 36 ATP.

Nikola Tesla And Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison, developed the world s first practical light bulb in the late 1870s, Edison relied heavily
on tedious experimentation for most of his discoveries, a commitment which some historians attribute
partially to his lack of formal education. Then began building a system for producing and distributing
electricity, so businesses and homes could use his new invention. He opened his first power plant, in
New York City, in 1882. So, developed direct current current that runs continuously in a single
direction, like in a battery or a fuel cell. During the early years of electricity, direct current
(shorthanded as DC) was the standard in the U.S. Mahen Theatre in Brno (in what is now the Czech
Republic), opened in 1882, and was the first public building in the world to use Edison s electric
lamps.
Nikola Tesla, a well educated mathematician from the Austrian Empire (now Croatia), began working
for the Continental Edison Company in France in 1882. There he designed and made improvements to
electrical equipment. He worked for about a year for the French branch of the Edison Electric Light
Co. Tesla, in contrast, was an emotionally driven dreamer with years of engineering training, which
allowed him to work out theories before physically implementing them.
At the beginning of 1884, Tesla moved to the Unites States and began working directly for Thomas
Edison. Though he had hired Tesla, Edison thought the man s ideas were splendid but utterly
impractical . Edison s

Call Of Duty Vs Snapchat
The PR case study I have chosen to write about is from Prnewsonline.com , the article is called How
Call of Duty Used Snapchat to Ignite its community. This case study talks about how the two
companies teamed up to get Call of Duty players interested in Black Ops 3. Working together the duo
was even able to win a 2015 PR News Digital PR Award. I chose this case study because I love
playing video games and Call of Duty is one of my favorite games. Now Call of Duty and Snapchat
are both majors companies, with too many people still focused on Black Ops 2 Call of Black Ops 3
was in trouble. While Snapchat is a growing company they were a perfect choice to help with the
games demographic. Now every gamer loves hacks weather they admit it or not, the campaign team
used that to their advantage. By appearing as a hack they knew it would gather more people s
attentions. Public relations practitioners should be familiar with their organizations history (Swann
555). The Black Ops campaign does just this by using a hack that was disguised as a standard game
update. All gamers will always upgrade because it means better weapons and options. ... Show more

By using snapchat codes players were able to go to the Black Ops Snapchat account where the first
clues about Black Ops 3 were released. Now not releasing any information about the campaign
beforehand was clever because it allowed the information be spread by the players leaving the written
and spoken elements to them. Not only are the snapchat codes used they were also place strategically
in different maps on the multiplayer mode. Now in multiplayer mode you can chat with one another,
so the campaign team can use this to their advantage. By speaking to one another while playing the
game players would definitely talk about finding a snapchat code in the middle of a game

Culture is defined as the boundary between different people from different ends of the earth. For my
project I had to interview another person from a different culture. This was difficult for me because I
had no idea where to start because I didn t know what made my culture specific to me. I found my
interview subject relatively fast and I sat down and asked the questions. I found my subject from my
boss I interviewed my bosses boyfriends sister and we went at it. Her name was Monica Rosales I
noticed right away that she was very open to me and nonverbal ques showed such as her hand

options and added living space to energy conservation and increased property value, finishing your
home basement can offer an array of benefits. Below, the basement remodeling experts at Best
Custom Homes in West Salem, WI outline a few of the main advantages.
Benefits of a Finished Basement
It s Cheaper Than You Might Expect
The majority of basement remodeling projects are far less costly than homeowners anticipate,
especially when compared to other major of home improvements. In fact, the price per square per

Basement apartments can be just as fancy as any other living space and may actually offer more living
space than traditional apartment units. Depending on your neighborhood and mortgage payment
amount, you may be able to request 50 75% of your monthly mortgage as a monthly rent payment.
Flexible Living Space
Finishing your basement can double your home s available living space. This space can be used for
nearly any purpose: a home gym or office, private living quarters for the in laws, a man cave for video
gaming and Sunday football games, or even a children s play area. Your imagination is the only limit.
Storage Galore
Finishing your basement is an excellent way to organize your home. Many homeowners organize
spare junk and stray boxes in random corners and closets around the home. A basement is the ideal
place to organize all of the things that do not belong elsewhere or that are used on a limited basis, such
as winter sports equipment or holiday decorations, saving you a bundle on a rented storage

The History And Social Impact Of The Circus Freak Show
The History and Social Impact of the Circus Freak Show Since it s humble beginning in the mid 16th
century, the circus and freak show act has been entertaining and horrifying people to this day;
however, in today s ultra sensitive society, how has the classic freak show evolved to be deemed
acceptable and be used to promote acceptance and positive views of people with abnormalities, rather
than viewing these people as freaks , as was the original purpose of the classic freak show ?
Popularized in the mid 16th century, the circus freak show became a common pastime in England.
People with deformities and disabilities began being treated less as humans, and more as sources of
interest and entrainment, and the crowds would gather to see these people exhibited. A notable early
display was that of conjoined twins Lazarus and Johannes Baptista Colloredo. As described by History
Magazine, Lazarus was thought to be quite handsome, appearing otherwise perfectly healthy, but for
his conjoined twin brother. Joannes Baptista protruded, upside down, from his brother s chest. He was
significantly smaller than Lazarus, and only his upper body and left leg visibly extended from his
brother s torso (Strange and Bizarre:). Based off this description it is no wonder why the brothers
became a popular exhibition at the court of King Charles I. Though the freak show was initially a
display for the upper class, it would not take long for people to see the profitability of these acts.

The Rise Of The Papacy Essay
The Rise of the Papacy There many Roman Catholics worldwide, who looks up to the Pope s
authority. The great question is, what is the foundation of the Papacy? The rise of the papacy came at a
very important time in history, after the fall of Rome. In 380 CE, Emperor Theodosius I, made Nicene
Christianity the state church of the Roman Empire. After this establishment, and the church was the
top religion in Rome, order was a must. The head of the church normally known as the bishop, now
known as the pope. What does pope mean? The word pope simply means father , and in early times
was used to refer to any important and respected Bishop. The Bishop of Rome was looked upon as the
chief judge similar to the Supreme Court. This position was suited to keep order in the church. The
first rise of the Papacy is undoubtedly to be sought for in the corruption of human nature. Catholics
believes that the papacy began with one of Jesus disciple, Peter. They hang this concept on one verse
of scripture in the Bible. The Bible declares, I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I
will build My church: and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the
kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and what every
you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Since, Christ have put this charge on Peter many
believe the papacy started with him. While some claim that Clement was

people except the Lands. When Reuben goes outside to calm himself, he finds his dad on the back of a
truck, pacing and praying. Then, he went on pacing God as my witness walking on air. (17) Enger
uses biblical references all throughout the book to compare the two. Jeremiah walking on air is easily
comparable to Jesus walking on water, because both men are walking on something impossible and
any normal man can t do. This helps for sure turn Jeremiah into a Christ like figure. Later progressing

The Theory Of Plate Tectonics And Earth s Crust Displacement
For millions of years the Earth has experienced geologic catastrophes. Since the existence of Theia
itself, the Earth s crust has been formed, deformed, and even demolished. The crust has never been a
completed masterpiece due to this. Why is this? The most recent physical changes were caused by the
theory of plate tectonics and earth s crust displacement. Plate tectonics and its movement resulted in
our continents drifting across the earth s surface, and the creation of mountain belts, volcanoes, and
the faults of today s Earth. A German meteorologist and explorer Alfred Wegener put forth the theory
of continental drift in the early 1900 s. Wegener pointed out that the earth s continents looked as if
they were all connected at one point in time. He also pointed out that some of earth s features,
including the long S shaped mountain structure formed on the Atlantic seafloor, could fit snugly
against the corresponding western seafloor of Europe and Africa (Sieh and LeVay 1998). Wegener
proposed that all of the earth s continents once formed one single landmass, which he named Pangaea
or all land . He concluded that Pangaea had broken up and separated due to the unidentifiable forces
estimated 300 million years ago (Sieh and LeVay 1998). Geologists did not fully understand at the
time that Earth s continents could drift (Hazen 2012). After all, the continents do not float in the
oceans. They are made from a solid material connecting to the mantle, a sphere of solid rock

Good and Evil in Good Country People Essay
Good and Evil in Good Country People
In Good Country People by Flannery O Connor, the masked truth is reflected unequivocally through
the reality in the story, its equal counterpart. For every good or evil thing, there is an antagonist or
opposing force. Each character has a duplicate personality mirrored in someone else in the story.
In the story, the names and personalities of the characters clash. The name is the mask covering the
personality, which is representative of the reality aspect of each character. When Mrs. Hopewell
named her daughter Joy, she was hoping for all the joy that comes with raising a child and watching
the child develop a life of its own. What Mrs. Hopewell received was a disabled daughter who ...

comes across as very sincere and earnest. She tells Manley up front that she didn t want a Bible and he
might as well put those up (302). She didn t mislead him in any way. Joy Hulga also demonstrates her
qualifications to be a good country person. As she spends more time with Manley, and the story
develops, she shows her genuine self that she has been trying to hide behind Hulga. She becomes very
open and honest with Manley. She tells him that there mustn t be anything dishonest between [them]
(307). She also shows how simple, or innocent, she really is. She, despite having a Ph.D. in
psychology, is very naive to the way people behave. She is clueless about Manley s real intentions
with her. He had met her the day before and had already proclaimed his love to her. She reveals her
innocence when she asks him Aren t you, aren t you just good country people? (309). The masked
truth and reality are most obviously revealed through the character s souls. Mrs. Freeman, who had a
special fondness for the details of secret infections, hidden deformities, [and] assaults upon children,
had an evil soul that was fortunately very passive in its actions (299). Mrs. Hopewell, on the other

Reflection Of A Colloquium
Since I am a freshman, and this was my first colloquium, I did not know what to expect. I select Greek
life, bullying in adulthood, and the Great Blasket Islands. Bullying in adulthood got cancelled and I
went to human trafficking and domestic violence instead. I was very interested in learning new
information about these interesting topics. I was especially excited about hearing Mrs. Gertz talk
about her trip to the Great Blasket Islands. I have her for English and she got me hooked the first time
she mentioned she would be doing her chat over her trip. The first chat I went to was over Greek life
and the whole era in general. The most interesting story that the professor told was about Oedipus.
Laius and Jocasta are the king and queen on Thebes. The king goes to a fortune teller because they are
having trouble conceiving a child. He is told, they will have a child, but his son will kill him and
marry and have children with the queen. They send the child to someone far away, so the prophesy
cannot be filled. The young boy ends up becoming a king somewhere else then goes out and meets his
father and they fight and he kills his father. He had no idea who the man was. He ventures out and
kills a sphynx and then becomes king because of that. He never thought the place he now ended up at
was supposed to be his true home. He marries the current queen and the prophesy is filled. The story

The Qualities Of Audrey Hepburn In Funny Face
Regarding physical qualities, everybody has their own idiosyncrasies or quirks, things which make
them peculiar and yet interesting. These features make us who we are and even if we consider them as
flaws, they still make us beautiful somehow. The 1957 film, Funny Face, was actually a tribute to the
late Audrey Hepburn s rather unusual, quirky facial features her large nose, thick eyebrows, slightly
crooked teeth, being doe eyed which all summed up to her being the epitome of a truly beautiful
woman that she was (De La Hoz 6). Audrey Kathleen Ruston Hepburn embodied both essential
aspects of inner and outer beauty which does not equate to being flawless. Voted as the Most Beautiful

To accentuate the hips even more, slit side pockets were present (Payne, 256 257). Subsequently, the
1960 s brought the emergence of miniskirts, which was then a public shock for it was not considered
tamed. Minis were pioneered by Mary Quant and made trendy by Andre Courreges (Murray, 112 113).
Meanwhile, pants suits for women were popularized in the 70 s. They were first introduced as skinny
and tailored, leaving little space for legs. Then they evolved into a flared leg style, with a wide
opening at the bottom, or bell bottoms (Payne, 261). Pants appeared in every form imaginable, from
divided skirts and culottes to the classic, pleated front tailored pant and the baggy Fred Astaire
version. (Murray, 116) In the 1950s, excessively feminine silhouettes were celebrated thus
accentuating curves, full bosoms and narrow waists was a prevailing way for women to dress.
Nevertheless, with her sphere of influence on women, Audrey Hepburn introduced an alternative to
this limited standard of how women through various aspects of dressing and behaving should be
(Keogh 1). Some of the popular stars who eventually became sex symbols in the period were Marilyn
Monroe, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly. Hepburn s physique however, was totally different from
these women. She did not have a big bosom or a bottom. She was not curvy. Unlike Audrey Hepburn s

David stated I ll knock you down and cut off your head, this quote shows that David had all faith that
he would beat Goliath. Also in the poem Casey at the bat Casey had faith that he would win. This is
correct because the author stated, Defiance gleamed in Casey s eye, a sneer curled Casey s lip. This
quote shows that Casey had faith that he would hit the ball by the defiance in Casey s eye. The next of

Casey at the Bat that explains this is the author stated, That ain t my style, said Casey. Strike one, the
umpire said. This quote explains that Casey was not afraid to fail from the quote. In addition, there are
differences between Casey and David for instance David was the underdog in David and Goliath and
Casey was the person that everyone thought would win. A quote that explains the difference in the
passage is the author stated, Do you think I m a dog? Goliath asked. This quote explains that David is
an underdog because Goliath asked him if he was a dog. In the passage Casey at the Bat Casey was
not the underdog because the author stated, For Casey, mighty Casey, was advancing to the bat. This
quote explains that the crowd knew that Casey was not an underdog because they call him mighty

The Pros And Cons Of Haiti
Since 1994, Haiti has experienced seven major military and humanitarian interventions undertaken by
the United States of America (USA) and the United Nations (UN). These interventions are thought to
have helped Haiti develop economically and politically, but has this been the case? Despite the many
interventions, or perhaps because of them, Haiti is still the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere
and one of the poorest countries in the world. The country is overwhelmed with corruption, high
unemployment, high crime levels, and miserable economic prospects for its citizens. Looking at the
advantages and disadvantages of the interventions gives us a clearer picture of why Haiti is in such a
dismal state today.
Interventions brought thousands of foreign troops to Haiti, but also brought several benefits. For
example:
The building of roads, schools, and hospitals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But that is not all many of the products that the USA has donated to Haiti such as wheat, rice, bananas,
and yams, have made thousands of Haitian farmers and businesses insolvent as they cannot compete
with the subsidised American products. In 1998 Haiti produced 47% of the country s consumed rice,
which plunged to a mere 15% by 2008 entire industries have been destroyed and the country is now
almost exclusively dependent on imports, primarily from the USA. Unemployment skyrocketed and it
damaged the Haitian economy and markets to the point where the government of Haiti even had to
call for an end to large scale food aid in 2010. But food aid continues to this day despite its harm. It is
critical to realise that the situation in Haiti does not look much better today than it did in 1994 despite
all the aid. Therefore, whether these donations and investments have brought any meaningful benefits
to Haitian citizens is highly

Ironies Of Vivekananda
Vivekananda used to make ironies regarding different lacunas of Western culture. He showed his utter
disgust ranging from their toilet practice to unhygienic food preparation techniques. (Raychaudhuri
1988, 305). The focal point of his condemnation of the West was a denunciation of materialism, and a
parallel lack of interest in authentic spirituality. This can be understood in his remark that the
satisfaction of appetites is their true God (in Raychaudhuri 1988, 310), and that European Christians
are mere babies in metaphysical and spiritual education . Side by side it is also true that Vivekananda
levied equal harsh criticism for his own cultural defects too but he rarely uttered any negative word for
his country in the West. Dhar and Will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He remarked, We who are progressing know that the more we progress, the more avenues are opened
to pain as well as to pleasure (WRI, 37). Vivekananda s message attracted many Westerners who were
searching for mental peace. Nivedita admitted this in her essay The Modern Despair . She showed
how dissatisfaction and disillusionment destroyed mental peace of the developed Western society. She
depicted a world marked simultaneously by growing dissatisfaction and vulgarity of privilege and the
growing sadness and pain of the dispossessed (in U. King, 72).Commenting on the root cause of these
problems Vivekananda repeatedly emphasizing on the spiritual orientation of the mind and had argued
for the blending of both the hemispheres, the material West and the spiritual East for the true
development of the human society. He attacked British colonialism by saying that they have no right
to subjugate India by means of spiritual and economical superiority and it was also meaningless to
send Christian missionaries to the land where spirituality and religion run through the veins of the
people. In a short address at the Parliament of Religions, aptly titled Religion Not the Crying Need of

Criminal Involvement Of The United States
Robert D. Crutchfield when speaking of the social class differences to explain criminal involvement in
the United States in his published work From Slavery to Social Class to Disadvantage: An Intellectual
History of the Use of Class to Explain Racial Differences in Criminal Involvement asks an important
question, why do we always connect crimes with race? Crutchfield states When race is not the focus,
differences in ethnicity, religion, immigration status, or some other marker of being the other are part
of how we think about and talk about crime (2). Crutchfield proposes that we continually seek out
groups to ostracize and blame crime on. Out groups when blamed for crime, it is attributed to
interiority or social class. We often attribute crimes (those of property and violence) to those of
different races. But if the question was reworded and was understood to include collar crimes, white
people would have a huge crime rate. Crutchfield stumbles on several correlations while in this
inquiry: that African Americans are more involved in kinds of crime that lead to prison sentences
(compared to whites), and that people in lower social classes serve time for these offenses. As African
Americans, are very abundant and overrepresented in the areas of low socioeconomic class, the fallacy
usually arises that the correlation between the poor African Americans and crime is prevalent. These
two sets of data however, do not create a connection. Crutchfield analyzes the effects

The On Non Verbal Communication
What are you thinking is as a same time terrific and exalting question to ask. Repeatedly ask when

as the time surprising and normal, pushing to deliver what we hide inside us. To say the unsaid, to

this place that we humans live in. In this extent what is the proper definition of world? It is only a
place or it can be defined as the people who inhabit in. Is the people only related to merely us humans
or it is much more extend? Could we categorize the animals as people or this name can only be
attributed to us? Could the word people change its meaning depending of the context and have a
connotation to characterize other outside humans. Or should I be clever and called the others outside
human by their name already establish such as animals and plants, water, air? But do those name
reflect what they are? Are they enough pejorative meaning in those names to reveal its importance? Or
did I add some pathetic sense in their name to illustrate their so called their miniature and insignificant
importance in the whole that we call world? We could say that we care about them and their name
reflect what they are. In addition, we humans create some organization which defend them and we
also adopt some of them as companions; therefore, it is not right to say that we did not provide

TAKAFUL
TAKAFUL
Takaful is a co operative system of reimbursement in case of loss, paid to people and companies
concerned about hazards, compensated out of a fund to which they agree to donate small regular
contributions managed on behalf by a Takaful Operator. It is defined as an Islamic insurance concept
which is grounded in Islamic muamalat (Islamic banking), observing the rules and regulations of
Islamic law. This concept has been practised in various forms since 622 CE. Muslim jurists
acknowledge that the basis of shared responsibility (in the system of aquila as practised between
Muslims of Mecca and Medina) laid the foundation of mutual insurance.

As with the traditional forms of insurance, reinsurance of a takaful operation may be used, known as

The Mudharabah model (profit sharing)
According to this principle the al Mudharib (takaful operator) accepts payment of the takaful
installments or takaful contributions (premiums, known as ra s ul mal) from investors or providers of
capital or funds (takaful participants), acting as sahib ul mal. The contract specifies how the profits (or
surplus) from the operations of the takaful is to be shared in accordance with the principle of al
mudharabah between the participants (as providers of capital) and the takaful operator. The sharing of
such profit may be in a ratio of 50:50, 60:40, 70:30 and so forth, as mutually agreed between the
contracting parties.
In order to eliminate the element of uncertainty in the takaful contract, the concept of tabarru ( to
donate, contribute, or give away ) is incorporated. Relating to this concept, a participant agrees to
relinquish (as tabarru) a certain proportion of his takaful installments (or contributions) that he agrees
or undertakes to pay, should any of his fellow participants suffer a defined loss. This agreement
enables him to fulfill his obligation of mutual help and joint guarantee.
In essence, tabarru enables participants to perform their deeds in assisting fellow participants who

New England vs. Chesapeake
While both the people of the New England region and of the Chesapeake region descended from the
same English origin, by 1700 both regions had traveled in two diverse directions. Since both of these
groups were beset with issues that were unique to their regions and due to their exposure to different
circumstances, each was forced to rethink and reconstruct their societies. As a result, the differences in
the motivation, geography, and government in the New England and Chesapeake regions caused great
divergence in the development of each.
As the regions began to expand and develop, their motivations for settlement helped to mold their
societies. New England was a place where men sought refuge from religious ... Show more content on

Since land meant power in the Chesapeake, a rigid social hierarchy was developed as well, completely
in contrast with the society of the New England region. These contrasts were brought about by the
positive and negative impacts off the geography in each region. It strongly influenced the New
England and Chesapeake regions in unique and separate ways.
The Chesapeake also had its own obstacle brought about by nature. Diseases such as dysentery,
malaria, and typhoid struck hard, cutting off numerous years of life expectancy for the people of the
Chesapeake. Since health is a major concern for a developing colony, disease in a colony tends to eat
at the morale of a town. This was demonstrated in the Chesapeake where disease cost many colonists
their lives, especially women, leaving many men frustrate with little hope for having families. This
harsh reality along with the arduous voyage decreased the amount of women and children who
immigrated to the region (Doc C,F). Unlike their Southern counterparts, New England was healthier
and not ravaged by disease. The cleaner conditions increased the colonists life expectancy by several
years. Because of the thriving conditions of the New England society, many English emigrants
emigrated with their entire family, as exemplified in Document B, Joseph Hull...Agnes Hull, his
wife...Joan Hull, his daughter...Joseph Hull, his son . Unlike most Chesapeake children who would be

Abstract This paper presents an efficient and reliable evolutionary based approach to solve the optimal
power flow(OPF) problem. The proposed approach employs differential evolution algorithm for
optimal settings of control variables. The proposed approach is examined and tested on the standard
IEEE 30 bus test system with fuel cost minimization as objective. The proposed approach results are
compared with the results reported in the literature. The results show the effectiveness and robustness
of the proposed approach.
Keywords Optimal power flow · Differential evolution algorithm · Fuel cost minimization
I. INTRODUCTION
In the past two decades, the problem of optimal power flow (OPF) has received much attention. It is
of current interest of many utilities and it has been marked as one of the most operational needs. The
OPF problem solution aims to optimize a selected objective function via optimal adjustment of the
power system control variables, while at the same time satisfying various equality and inequality
constraints.
Because the optimal power flow problem is

Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Fusion
Development of alternative energy sources is ever growing. One such source, nuclear fusion, is
gaining increasing prominence in the energy world. The principles of nuclear fusion provide the
opportunity of incredible energy production. This review covers the concepts, current prospects, and
the challenges and future developments necessary for the realization of nuclear fusion as a power
source. Tremendous research and development has already occurred into the realization of fusion. Two
popular mechanisms are studied: Magnetic Confinement Fusion (MCF) and Inertial Confinement
Fusion. MCF utilizes magnetic entrapment of superheated plasma in a device known as a tokamak to
achieve fusion conditions. ICF utilizes ablation and compression techniques in ... Show more content

These issues combine to place an unfavorable light on the potential of nuclear power. Nuclear fission,
however, is not the only source of nuclear power. Nuclear fusion is another method which offers the
potential to combat some of the ailments of nuclear fission in addition to providing long lasting power.
Nuclear fusion offers several benefits to energy industry. Among the benefits of fusion power is that
fusion fuel is readily available, power produced is reliable, has a low environmental impact, does not
produce fissile materials, and carries the same terror risk as conventional fossil fuel plants [6]. To
understand why some of these benefits are true, an understanding of the science behind nuclear fusion
is necessary. To start, nuclear reactions involve the protons and neutrons contained in the nucleus of an
atom. This is different from how chemical reactions, like the burning of fossil fuels, involve the
electrons of an atom. In nuclear fission reactions, heavier elements are torn apart. The resulting
products are more stable than the reactant, and energy is

The Use Of Positive Emotion Building Exercises
Cultivating gratitude in students through the use of positive emotion building exercises will differ
between year levels as a students ability to personally reflect / contribute and understand is continually
developing. One cannot expect a student in reception to write an explicitly detailed gratitude letter.
However, with teacher directed guidance, a group sharing activity involving What Went Well can
certainly be beneficial to those who participate (Seligman et al. 2009). The use of the following
exercises depends predominantly on the ability of the students, and what exercise could be utilised
most greatly to enhance the positive emotion of gratitude.
What Went Well:
As Seligman (2011) describes in his book Flourish, We think too ... Show more content on

What did I give? What trouble and difficulties did I cause to others? Indeed, a sincere reflection is not
an easy task as it requires individuals to have a willingness to face our mistakes, but when done so
properly, it can be highly beneficial for students (Waters 2014).
Gratitude Journal:
This exercise can be in conjunction with What Went Well or it can be completed separately on its own.
The practice of journalling allows individuals to ponder what they are currently grateful for, ranging
from the simplistic to the lavish experiences. Research has shown that individuals who have partaken
in weekly gratitude journalling increased their overall happiness and gratitude, and were more likely
to obtain goals regarding academic performance (Chan 2010 Seligman 2011).
The Gratitude Visit / Letter:
Although this exercise may only improve momentary wellbeing, Boniwell (2012) argues that it should
not be shunned. The task of writing a gratitude letter idolising an individual you are grateful for and
sharing it personally cannot only strengthen the relationship between the two individuals, but also
increase overall life satisfaction and happiness (Boniwell 2012 Seligman 2011).
Through the inclusion of the positive emotion building exercises mentioned, and the educators ability
to successfully implement these exercises into the students school practice, it is assumed that the

At this point, the process starts to move into the mitochondria and the Krebs Cycle is initiated. There is a net gain of 2 ATP and 2 molecules of NADH produced. During Krebs Cycle, the acetyl CoA breaks down further into two molecules of carbon dioxide during each turn of the cycle. In the process, the molecules FAD and NAD are reduced to FADH2 and NADH. 2 ATP is generated during the Krebs Cycle. The reduced FADH2 and NADH enter the Electron Transport System where they are re oxidized to FAD and NAD. These electrons release energy which forms 32 ATP molecules. • 4. Nikola Tesla And Thomas Edison Thomas Edison, developed the world s first practical light bulb in the late 1870s, Edison relied heavily on tedious experimentation for most of his discoveries, a commitment which some historians attribute partially to his lack of formal education. Then began building a system for producing and distributing electricity, so businesses and homes could use his new invention. He opened his first power plant, in New York City, in 1882. So, developed direct current current that runs continuously in a single direction, like in a battery or a fuel cell. During the early years of electricity, direct current (shorthanded as DC) was the standard in the U.S. Mahen Theatre in Brno (in what is now the Czech Republic), opened in 1882, and was the first public building in the world to use Edison s electric lamps. Nikola Tesla, a well educated mathematician from the Austrian Empire (now Croatia), began working for the Continental Edison Company in France in 1882. There he designed and made improvements to electrical equipment. He worked for about a year for the French branch of the Edison Electric Light Co. Tesla, in contrast, was an emotionally driven dreamer with years of engineering training, which allowed him to work out theories before physically implementing them. At the beginning of 1884, Tesla moved to the Unites States and began working directly for Thomas Edison. Though he had hired Tesla, Edison thought the man s ideas were splendid but utterly impractical . Edison s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Call Of Duty Vs Snapchat The PR case study I have chosen to write about is from Prnewsonline.com , the article is called How Call of Duty Used Snapchat to Ignite its community. This case study talks about how the two companies teamed up to get Call of Duty players interested in Black Ops 3. Working together the duo was even able to win a 2015 PR News Digital PR Award. I chose this case study because I love playing video games and Call of Duty is one of my favorite games. Now Call of Duty and Snapchat are both majors companies, with too many people still focused on Black Ops 2 Call of Black Ops 3 was in trouble. While Snapchat is a growing company they were a perfect choice to help with the games demographic. Now every gamer loves hacks weather they admit it or not, the campaign team used that to their advantage. By appearing as a hack they knew it would gather more people s attentions. Public relations practitioners should be familiar with their organizations history (Swann 555). The Black Ops campaign does just this by using a hack that was disguised as a standard game update. All gamers will always upgrade because it means better weapons and options. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using snapchat codes players were able to go to the Black Ops Snapchat account where the first clues about Black Ops 3 were released. Now not releasing any information about the campaign beforehand was clever because it allowed the information be spread by the players leaving the written and spoken elements to them. Not only are the snapchat codes used they were also place strategically in different maps on the multiplayer mode. Now in multiplayer mode you can chat with one another, so the campaign team can use this to their advantage. By speaking to one another while playing the game players would definitely talk about finding a snapchat code in the middle of a game ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The History And Social Impact Of The Circus Freak Show The History and Social Impact of the Circus Freak Show Since it s humble beginning in the mid 16th century, the circus and freak show act has been entertaining and horrifying people to this day; however, in today s ultra sensitive society, how has the classic freak show evolved to be deemed acceptable and be used to promote acceptance and positive views of people with abnormalities, rather than viewing these people as freaks , as was the original purpose of the classic freak show ? Popularized in the mid 16th century, the circus freak show became a common pastime in England. People with deformities and disabilities began being treated less as humans, and more as sources of interest and entrainment, and the crowds would gather to see these people exhibited. A notable early display was that of conjoined twins Lazarus and Johannes Baptista Colloredo. As described by History Magazine, Lazarus was thought to be quite handsome, appearing otherwise perfectly healthy, but for his conjoined twin brother. Joannes Baptista protruded, upside down, from his brother s chest. He was significantly smaller than Lazarus, and only his upper body and left leg visibly extended from his brother s torso (Strange and Bizarre:). Based off this description it is no wonder why the brothers became a popular exhibition at the court of King Charles I. Though the freak show was initially a display for the upper class, it would not take long for people to see the profitability of these acts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Rise Of The Papacy Essay The Rise of the Papacy There many Roman Catholics worldwide, who looks up to the Pope s authority. The great question is, what is the foundation of the Papacy? The rise of the papacy came at a very important time in history, after the fall of Rome. In 380 CE, Emperor Theodosius I, made Nicene Christianity the state church of the Roman Empire. After this establishment, and the church was the top religion in Rome, order was a must. The head of the church normally known as the bishop, now known as the pope. What does pope mean? The word pope simply means father , and in early times was used to refer to any important and respected Bishop. The Bishop of Rome was looked upon as the chief judge similar to the Supreme Court. This position was suited to keep order in the church. The first rise of the Papacy is undoubtedly to be sought for in the corruption of human nature. Catholics believes that the papacy began with one of Jesus disciple, Peter. They hang this concept on one verse of scripture in the Bible. The Bible declares, I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church: and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and what every you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. • 16. Jeremiah Vs. Ruben s Miracles In Tin L. Enger Opening the novel, it is immediately apparent that Jeremiah causes many miracles, such as Ruben s miraculous birth after not breathing for twelve minutes. These godlike miracles aren t normal to people except the Lands. When Reuben goes outside to calm himself, he finds his dad on the back of a truck, pacing and praying. Then, he went on pacing God as my witness walking on air. (17) Enger uses biblical references all throughout the book to compare the two. Jeremiah walking on air is easily comparable to Jesus walking on water, because both men are walking on something impossible and any normal man can t do. This helps for sure turn Jeremiah into a Christ like figure. Later progressing in the story, a traveling salesman, Tin Lurvy, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. The Theory Of Plate Tectonics And Earth s Crust Displacement For millions of years the Earth has experienced geologic catastrophes. Since the existence of Theia itself, the Earth s crust has been formed, deformed, and even demolished. The crust has never been a completed masterpiece due to this. Why is this? The most recent physical changes were caused by the theory of plate tectonics and earth s crust displacement. Plate tectonics and its movement resulted in our continents drifting across the earth s surface, and the creation of mountain belts, volcanoes, and the faults of today s Earth. A German meteorologist and explorer Alfred Wegener put forth the theory of continental drift in the early 1900 s. Wegener pointed out that the earth s continents looked as if they were all connected at one point in time. He also pointed out that some of earth s features, including the long S shaped mountain structure formed on the Atlantic seafloor, could fit snugly against the corresponding western seafloor of Europe and Africa (Sieh and LeVay 1998). Wegener proposed that all of the earth s continents once formed one single landmass, which he named Pangaea or all land . He concluded that Pangaea had broken up and separated due to the unidentifiable forces estimated 300 million years ago (Sieh and LeVay 1998). Geologists did not fully understand at the time that Earth s continents could drift (Hazen 2012). After all, the continents do not float in the oceans. Good and Evil in Good Country People Essay Good and Evil in Good Country People In Good Country People by Flannery O Connor, the masked truth is reflected unequivocally through the reality in the story, its equal counterpart. Joy Hulga also demonstrates her qualifications to be a good country person. As she spends more time with Manley, and the story develops, she shows her genuine self that she has been trying to hide behind Hulga. She becomes very open and honest with Manley. I was especially excited about hearing Mrs. Gertz talk about her trip to the Great Blasket Islands. The king goes to a fortune teller because they are having trouble conceiving a child. He is told, they will have a child, but his son will kill him and marry and have children with the queen. They send the child to someone far away, so the prophesy cannot be filled. Crutchfield when speaking of the social class differences to explain criminal involvement in the United States in his published work From Slavery to Social Class to Disadvantage: An Intellectual History of the Use of Class to Explain Racial Differences in Criminal Involvement asks an important question, why do we always connect crimes with race? Crutchfield states When race is not the focus, differences in ethnicity, religion, immigration status, or some other marker of being the other are part of how we think about and talk about crime (2). Crutchfield proposes that we continually seek out groups to ostracize and blame crime on. Out groups when blamed for crime, it is attributed to interiority or social class. We often attribute crimes (those of property and violence) to those of different races. But if the question was reworded and was understood to include collar crimes, white people would have a huge crime rate. Crutchfield stumbles on several correlations while in this inquiry: that African Americans are more involved in kinds of crime that lead to prison sentences (compared to whites), and that people in lower social classes serve time for these offenses. As African Americans, are very abundant and overrepresented in the areas of low socioeconomic class, the fallacy usually arises that the correlation between the poor African Americans and crime is prevalent. These two sets of data however, do not create a connection. Crutchfield analyzes the effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nuclear fusion is another method which offers the potential to combat some of the ailments of nuclear fission in addition to providing long lasting power. Nuclear fusion offers several benefits to energy industry. Among the benefits of fusion power is that fusion fuel is readily available, power produced is reliable, has a low environmental impact, does not produce fissile materials, and carries the same terror risk as conventional fossil fuel plants [6]. To understand why some of these benefits are true, an understanding of the science behind nuclear fusion is necessary. To start, nuclear reactions involve the protons and neutrons contained in the nucleus of an atom. This is different from how chemical reactions, like the burning of fossil fuels, involve the electrons of an atom. In nuclear fission reactions, heavier elements are torn apart.
