Detection And Treatment Of Malocclusions And Other Dental...
Abstract
Detection and treatment of malocclusions and other dental deformities are a considerable field of work
in the plan of orthodontic treatment. Severe malformations of the midface such as maxillary or
mandibular deformity can be treated by the distraction and reformation of skull bones. During an
operation, the appropriate bony part of the mid face is separated from the rest of the skull (osteotomy),
slowly moved into the ideal position by way of a distraction device. In the current clinical practice,
planning for orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery was based on Computed Tomography
(CT) data sets. CT images are inefficient for helping the orthodontists and surgeons in treatment and
surgical planning. A tool is needed to help the physicians and surgeons in the treatment planning in
order to anticipate the results and give the accurate decision, in this paper there are preliminary
descriptive studies on DICOM images of the skull to help the orthodontists by providing the following
algorithms: Segmentation of the lower jaw (mandible), Segmentation of the upper jaw (maxilla) from
CT data, Segmentation of upper teeth, each tooth and computation of mandible volume.
Keywords: CT scans, threshold, K mean, Region growing, DICOM.

Village Bohemians Research Paper
and artistic norms, the Village Bohemians , settled in the port town to enjoy themselves and share their
artistic creations. (Sarlós) Due to lack of congruent evidence or remains from those summer months,
several myths have arisen regarding the Provincetown Players founding, leaving the group s
beginnings fairly open to interpretation. The only three factors in the groups birth beyond dispute are
as follows: the plays were first thought of as a profoundly therapeutic party game for a small, close nit
group; the idea no sooner emerged than it materialized in the form of scripts; Jig Cook was spiritus
rector before it all began. (Sarlos) The Provincetown Players marked a new era of theatricality in the

These were performed casually on the verandah of the rented cottage, among these was one written by
Cook and his wife Susan Glaspell, entitled Suppressed Desires. Overnight, the performances became
the talk of Provincetown s artist colony and repeat performances were demanded by many who missed
the first one and the demand was satisfied. As the summer progressed, two more plays were developed
by the vacationing artists, and their stage moved to a fish house turned makeshift theatre owned by
Player members Joe and Mary O Brien. It is this construction that came to be the company s first
theatre, known as the Lewis Wharf, where the vivacious life of the Provincetown Players began. With
the sea as the backdrop, many of the Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The
following year, the group met once more at the old Wharf now with a greater sense of direction and
organization fueled by the response their productions generated the year prior. Now newly renovated
(with the installation of electricity) and cleaned, the Wharf was ready to set the stage for the Players
first bill of three plays which sold out at 50 cents per ticket in no time. This proved a huge success and
led to a series of plays throughout the entire summer, all now performed at the Wharf Theatre. The
Players also caught the eyes of the media, and received rave reviews in the Chicago Post and the
Boston Globe (Pictured above). It is interesting to note

Edmond Dantes Reborn as the Count of Monte Cristo Essay
Edmond Dantes: Reborn as the Count of Monte Cristo Everyday people seem change themselves in
one way or another, but sometimes people change their appearance and personality to the point where
those who were close to them, can not even recognize them in a crowd. The Count of Monte Cristo,
by Alexandre Dumas, is a story of a sailor, Edmond Dantes, who was betrayed during his prime time
of his life by the jealousy of his friends. Dantes is sent to prison where he spends countless years
planning an escape with the help of a fellow prisoner. The prisoner informs Dantes that he knows
where a treasure is that one man can not even dream about. Dantes friend then happens to die, leaving
Dantes with the information of where the treasure is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once hearing that Valentine had been poison, the Count states, What is it to me? (Dumas, 517). This
shows that the Count is a new person indeed, since if it was Edmond Dantes, he would have sprung up
and run over to Valentine to help her since he had acquired a knowledge of medicines to help poisoned
people. If Edmond Dantes was still living up to his birth name, he would not have acted and said these
things, unless he really changed who he originally was. Even though, the Count tried to become a new
person both physically and mentally, the old Edmond Dantes still interfered with his actions. When
Morrel comes to the Count and tells him about Valentines poison, the Count thinks nothing of it, but
as soon as Morrel told the Count that he loves Valentine, old Edmond Dantes shines through. When
Valentine and the Count converse in chapter sixty one, the Count remarks, I have not closed my eyes
for an instant during the last four nights; for the last four nights I have been watching over you to
protect and preserve you for our friend Maximilian (Dumas, 526). This shows that the Count did not
really care for Valentine, but as soon as a loyal family friend as the Morrel s asked for his help,
Edmond Dantes stepped up and would do anything to lend a helping hand. Also, after the Count and
Mercedes talk with each other, and Mercedes convinces Edmond not to kill her son, the Count starts to

The Similarity And Difference (Civil War)
The Similarity and difference (Civil War)
11 4 #28 Jang Dongmin
The movie authors usually show about the human nature through the characters in the movies and
each characters have a different personality. Because each heros has various characteristics, they
sometimes conflict with each others. The movie Civil war treats about the fight between the Iron Man
and Captain America. Although Avengers is the group of heros, many citizens dislike them. During the
fight with the villains, they destroyed many things such as New York City or airport. Therefore the
UN want to make them under their controls. About this policy, the Avengers divided in two groups.
The only hero, Vision, maintain neutrality in this fight. Therefore, when I saw this movie, I think the

Maintain the teamwork is important and it also means that it is the best way to get a good score for
me. For example, when I do my assignment with my group members and have some troubles between
the group members. Some groups cannot adjust the opinion discord. However, I always try to solve
the trouble and make our team in one. This behavior is good for my score and can make our team s
works more smooth.
However, Vision has a differently to my part of personality. Vision is not a leader in group therefore he
always show us passive behavior. On the other hand, I always have a role of group leader and have a

Essay on Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will Propaganda
Leni Riefenstahl s Triumph of the Will Propaganda I am going to discuss whether Leni Riefenstahl s
Triumph of the Will (1934) was propaganda, or a representational recording of an event. Riefenstahl
was considered an intricate part of the Third Reich s propaganda machine[1] , yet she claimed that: If
you see this film again today you ascertain that it doesn t contain a single reconstructed scene.
Everything in it is true. And it contains no tendentious commentary at all. It is history. A pure
historical film... it is film vérité. It reflects the truth that was then in 1934, history. It is therefore a

The Germans gave Hitler full credit for the improvement of the economic situation.[5] The fact that
Hitler was adored throughout Germany for his apparent rescue of their situation meant that he was
incredibly influential. People would listen to his every last word, but Riefenstahl was not somebody
who liked to work to anybody s tune. I ll try it. But only if I can be free after completing this project
and do not have to make any more films to order[6] This compromise lead to a lot of tension between
Hitler and Riefenstahl, and Hitler s idea for the opening of the film was believed terrible by
Riefenstahl, due to its lack of artistic merit I [Hitler] would therefore like to make the following
suggestion: I will ask the most important generals and members of the party to come to a film studio I
will be present too. Then we will line up, and the camera will move slowly down the line. This will
make it possible to emphasise the contributions of each person with a few words. That could be the

and would not be something that would influence people. It appears that Hitler s idea was

The Importance Of Moral Education In To Kill A Mockingbird
Atticus says cheatin a colored man is ten times worse than cheatin a white man. Says it s the worst
thing you can do, (Lee, 201). In today s day and age, it is a standard to have morals and values that
reflect on what you should show on a daily basis. Well, in Horton Foote s screenplay based on Harper
Lee s, To Kill a Mockingbird, many people do not have standard morals that you would find in the
modern 21st century. However, there is some hope. Atticus, a lawyer, and father of the main
characters, Scout and Jem, has taught them right from wrong. It is important to Atticus that Scout and
Jem have correct morals. This is a reoccurring thing and a theme that keeps its dignity throughout the
novel. The theme is the importance of moral education because of the book. First, Calpurnia taught
about judging. Calpurnia is the Finch s maid or house lady. However, since Atticus s wife died
Calpurnia is more like a mother figure to Scout and Jem. When Walter Cunningham Jr. came over to
the Finch s house for dinner, Walter asked for syrup and then a few moments later Calpurnia brought it
out for him. Scout said, What in the Sam Hill are you doing, Walter? (Foote 33). Calpurnia stepping
up told Scout to follow her in the kitchen. Calpurnia then said, That boy is your company, and if he
wants to eat up that tablecloth, you let him, you here? And if you can t act fit to eat like folks, you can
just set here and eat in the kitchen (Foote 34). Calpurnia was just pointing out to

Othello Racism Analysis
Isolation, by definition, represent the act of being separated from a general group. In William
Shakespeare s Othello, racism can be seen as a common thing throughout the dialogues in the play.
Almost every single character have made racial slurs towards Othello. The protagonist, Othello is seen
as an isolated individual from the rest of Venice due to his skin colour. Othello feels insecure about his
race. The antagonist, Iago is able to take advantage of Othello s insecurities and weak emotions by
endlessly convinces him about Desdemona s infidelity. Racism in his society and Othello s sense of
heroism contribute to his downfall. However, Othello s insecurity regarding his race is the tragic flaw
that caused his downfall, killing both himself and his loved wife.
Externally, In Othello society, other s racist comments against him incorporate some impact on
Othello s downfall. Characters such as Roderigo, Iago, and Brabantio referred Othello as an inhumane
being. Othello was known as the moor and thick lips by Iago and Roderigo. Almost everyone
discriminates Othello verbally because of his skin colour. Yet, Iago is the most racist towards Othello,
he attempted to aggravate Brabantio by telling him an old black ram (I, III,23) is making the beast
with two backs with your white ewe . Iago referred Othello as black and Desdemona as white, where
two of them contradict each other. Iago intended to upset Brabantio by using racist animal imagery to
prove to Brabantio about his daughter s elopement. We can see that Iago have no respect for Othello
as a person, but only sees him as a black animal. Nonetheless, Desdemona s father, Brabantio also
have a racist attitude towards Othello. Brabantio doesn t seem to believe that Othello won his daughter
over with his personality. He believes Desdemona is abused, stol n, corrupted by spells and medicine
(I, III,60 61). Brabantio considered her daughter s elopement unnatural because he just cannot believe
his daughter fall in love with what she feared to look on ( ). Others racist comment around Othello
exposes his inner insecurity step by step, up to a point that Othello can no longer take it and causes his
downfall.
Internally, Othello s insecurities about

The Rise Of The 19th Century
The 19th century was a time of great innovation and rapid industrialization. The industry of iron and
steel was generating new construction materials, while railroads were being connected across the
United States. But one of the most used resources in the world now was discovered, oil as a source of
fuel. In 1901, a gigantic geyser of oil erupted from a drilling site at Spindletop Hill, Texas. The spout
reached a height of more than 150 feet and produced close to 100,000 barrels a day. This was the most
powerful gusher ever seen before by the world. Soon a thriving oil industry formed around the oil
field at Spindletop. Many of our current oil companies can trace their roots back there, such as Gulf

get a bad reputation, but within reason. When you hear people speak of them they may be referred to
as those damn corporations . However, they are extremely important for our economy, they provide
the energy that fuels our world. But with great importance has to come great responsibility. The major
oil companies are not exactly admirable when it comes to human rights, pollution, or general
corporate responsibility. These companies violate human rights all over the world, they aren t
concerned about the environment and more so then less show a lack of corporate responsibility. Of
course the oil giants aren t the only ones dealing with resentment and controversy from the general
public. They are however they most target and recognized for it. (Bhandari, 2014) ExxonMobil is the

Arguments on Spanking Essay
Three reasons why people do not believe in spanking are spanking can cause harmful side effects,
spanking is no more effective than other punishments, and spanking promotes violence in children.
Some harmful side effects that could possibly be caused by spanking are children suffering from
depression, being inferior in their school performance, or having problems later on in life. It is
impossible to see side effects because they are not usually revealed immediately. People also believe
that spanking cannot be proven to be more effective than any other punishment. They think parents
can use other positive and nonviolent punishments to show children their actions were wrong without
subjecting the children to the detrimental effects of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They believe the studies that prove spanking can be helpful, think spanking is not always wrong, or
believe that harmful effects could be caused by personality differences. Marjorie Gunnoe, a
psychology professor, did a study that found that people who could recall being spanked as a child had
performed better in school and showed more optimistic qualities than people who were not spanked.
The research completely contradicted the studies that showed spanking to be harmful. (3) Some
experts take note that 50 years ago the majority of children were spanked by their parents and today
there is a significant decline in the amount of children being spanked; but today more children are
shown to be aggressive than in the past. There is also a possibility that the bad effects in spanked
children could have been caused by the child s personality or the behavioral differences that warranted
the spankings. (4)
I think the second argument is stronger because it takes in account that all spankings might not be bad
or harmful. Many studies against spanking do not differentiate the intensity of a spanking; a simple
spanking is a world of difference from child abuse. (4) It was also be concluded by both sides of the
argument that children from the ages of two to six can benefit from spanking. (2 4)
Authoritarian parents are most likely to spank their children, because they generally command respect
and have more inflexible rules for children.

Black men, unlike Whites of the time, were able to see past Wells #8217; sex and support the work
that she accomplished for all African Americans. Another aspect of this time period which proved to
be advantageous for Wells was the fact that she was female. White America was not nearly as
threatened by Black females as the prejudiced fear Whites experienced of Black men. Whites
perceived Black men to be carnal, exceedingly virile 3 and dangerous to the White society. More
successful Black men were lynched than successful Black women. Black women were not seen as a
direct threat of the power roles in society, therefore Wells was able to take many more risks than any
African American male in her efforts to end the lynchings and discrimination of Blacks. White males
also devalued Ida B. Wells #8217; work, because she was female. White men found it difficult to
believe that a woman could accomplish very much, because of the way they perceived women to be
inferior beings. These prejudiced thoughts actually helped Wells by giving her more space for progress

Thoughtful Change In Macbeth Essay
Macbeth: A Journey of Thoughtful Changes In Macbeth, a play by William Shakespeare, a soldier,

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s lust for power has caused them to make many unforgivable mistakes to
which gluttony and greed for power, treason, and murder are only the beginning. This play
demonstrates the human capability to drastically change both mentally and physically as shown by

this point, she is not interested in doing the killing herself, she just doesn t believe that Macbeth has
the strength within himself to kill. Lady Macbeth changes, however, when she states, That tend on
mortal thoughts, unsex me here, / And fill me from the crown to the toe top full/ Of direst cruelty.
Make thick my blood. (1.5.31 33). In this statement that she made, Lady Macbeth is asking to be

behind this is because lady Macbeth is becoming evil, and wish to kill. But it was not allowed for
women to think such impure thoughts, so she wished to be a man to carry out the horrendous deeds
that she wished for. The last change within Lady Macbeth is the same as Macbeth: guilt. When the

Negative Reinforcement Of Gender Roles In Children
When parents direct children away from toys that are associated with the opposite gender, they
reinforce the skewed perceptions and attitudes of the expected social norm. Children tend to assimilate
parents and caregivers messages concerning gender roles, therefore, by directing children towards
gender specific toys, the parents define the roles of societal gender expectations, thus contributing to
the negative reinforcement of the ideas of gender identity. In some instances this could be considered
damaging as the social learning theory claims; learning is a cognitive process that occurs through
observation or direct instruction. When desired behavior is rewarded, the child then learns the
relationship between their behavior and the consequence. Although this reinforces gender roles and
conditions gender specific behavior, it also gets in the way of expression by encouraging change (in
behavior) for the sake of others, or in general society. Children carry this message with them into their

The response to each carbohydrate was quantified when the respective carbohydrate was given alone
in a drink or when given in combination with protein and fat in a test meal. The data demonstrate that
(1) fructose ingestion resulted in significantly lower serum glucose and insulin responses than did
sucrose or dextrose ingestion in all study groups, either when given alone or in the test meal; (2)
although fructose ingestion always led to the least glycemic response compared with the other
hexoses, the serum glucose response to fructose was increased the more glucose intolerant the subject;
(3) urinary glucose excretion during the 3 h after carbohydrate ingestion was greatest after dextrose
and least after fructose in all groups. In conclusion, fructose ingestion results in markedly lower serum
glucose and insulin responses and less glycosuria than either dextrose or sucrose, both when given

Summary Of The Ketchup Conundrum By Malcolm Gladwell
The Lesson By: Toni Cade Bambara Miss Moore is not like the other African Americans in the
neighborhood, she goes to college and she wants to teach the neighborhood children about the world
around them. Sylvia s visit to F.A.O. Schwartz made her upset, but it also made her realize the
difference between the rich and the poor. It inspired her to work harder and do better with her life.
This is a good example of how things can encourage others to change their ways and how they see
life. The Ketchup Conundrum By: Malcolm Gladwell Reading this article was interesting to me. What
surprised me was the way the author describes the taste of the Heinz ketchup, it was almost perfect,
but we know nothing s really perfect, perfect. Also, I learned that it took a while to come up with the
brand name and the taste, which was confirmed due to a tasting ... Show more content on

The Effect of Historical Influences on The Development Of The Theatre Royal Bath In The 18th And
19th Century
During the 18th and 19th centuries going to the theatre became very popular, and was a common
pastime in the evening. During the first half of the 19th century the theatre was at its most popular
throughout the two centuries, and throughout the whole of the 19th century it was as popular as it was
during the 18th, attracting the same sort of audience size. Today you would take a trip to the cinema,

Both sites the Theatre Royal occupied underwent many developments during the 18th and 19th

would be built in the style of the Doric order, which at the time was expensive and fashionable. Other
buildings in the city were also being built like this. The Assembly Rooms Designed by John Wood the

auditorium and a lofty dome decorated with statues of Apollo and Muses replaced the initial flat
ceiling. However, when re opened the renovations were far from satisfactory, and in 1775 the

The Epic War By Homer
The Iliad may be seen as an account of circumstances that really change the life of one man, Achilles,
one of the greatest Achaeans warriors. The loyal war hero is the main character in the Iliad. It is his
storyline that creates the essence of the epic war written by Homer. When the poem is first read it
seems as though the main theme is about the dominance, gruesomeness, horror, and plain destruction
of Troy, however this is not the main focus. We see Achilles transform from youth to adulthood and go
through fundamental personality and character changes from a ferocious warrior in the beginning to a
more reserved and hospitable man by the end of the poem.
Nine years after the start of the Trojan War, the Achaeans attack Chryse, a small town allied with Troy.
During the battle, the Achaeans capture two beautiful maidens, Chryseis and Briseis. Agamemnon, the
forces leader, takes Chryseis as his prize, and Achilles claims Briseis. For their selfishness Apollo
sends a plague on the Achaeans camp. Many die from the plague, so Agamemnon turns to the prophet
Calchas to determine the cause of the plague and learns that Chryseis is the cause, so he gives her up
and demands Achilles war prize, Briseis. Furious Achilles returns to his tent and refuses to fight the
war and instead wants to take revenge against Agamemnon.

If all citizens practiced patriotism, America s greatness would greatly intensify. McCain continually
exclaims in his speech A Cause Greater than Self, that patriotism is the key ingredient to magnifying
America s greatness. He encourages citizens to implement selflessness and to constantly strive to
enhance America s greatness. The epitome of patriotism was and still is John F. Kennedy. Kennedy is
a patriot because he practiced the virtue of selflessness and he constantly strived to not only make
America better but the world. Patriotism is love and a duty, the action of being a good citizen. McCain
defined patriotism as countless acts of love and courage that have no witness of heraldry and are
especially commendable because they are unrecorded (6). McCain also claims that a patriot knows
happiness is greater than comfort , really emphasizing that sacrifice is an important aspect in a patriots

Disclosure Of Leases On Company Financial Statements
In 1949 the AICPA released ARB No. 38 over the disclosure of leases on company financial
statements. Before this bulletin it was not normal for the lessee to disclose the fact that the company
was in a contract long term lease of an asset. The Accounting Institute of Certified Public Accountants
felt that investors and other decision making personnel should have the right to know about leases in
which a company was contractually bound. The committee states in this bulletin that when it clearly
evident that the lessee will have ownership of the asset after all payments are made, that the lessee
should account for this in the assets and liabilities of the company s Balance Sheet. The committee
believes that the AICPA issued the opinion that all long term leases should be disclosed in the
financial statements or the footnotes. These disclosures include the payment amounts and other
obligations assumed not only in the year in which they occurred but any material amounts in the life
of the lease. (Committee on Accounting Procedure, American Institute of Accountants, 1949)
Although, the main point of this bulletin was to address long term leases, the AICPA never formally
defines what it means by a long term lease which can be assumed to be what modern day accounting
defines as a capital lease. The purpose of the bulletin was not to address short term leases (now called
operating leases) because there was no exchange of rights in these situations. Although the above
opinion was

only we are dealing with a different kind of hate.

There are still ways in which light can drive out the darkness that is prevalent in our world today.
Every nation claims that they are building up arms to defend their people in case of an attack. This is a
perfect example of the darkness that is embedded in the world. People s psyches are so concerned
about the worst of possibilities that we seldom look at the positive ways in which we can improve our
world for the better. The light that can offer some answers may be the consent of all nations to reach
an agreement on every major international issue such as the battle over nuclear weapons. I find it hard
to believe that in a world where we have so much potential to rid the ills of society with diplomacy,
we often resolve to arms and violence.
Dr. King was referring to the plight of African Americans (particularly in the South) when he said that
hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Dr. King was in essence preaching to those that
wanted integration, and civil rights that the only way you can achieve anything is with love. Dr. King
knew that hate often results in violence, and using violence as a means to a gain at a time when our
nation was engaged in a deadly war will not have been in the best interest of a nation that needed
cohesiveness amongst all its citizens. In the history of the world, hate has never produced a good
result. Hitler s hatred of Jews resulted in the massacre of over six million Jews. In Rwanda, over

For this reason, in order to gain insight of the precise estimate of the returns, investors and managers
generally use the variance and average return. The values in the above table is depicting that the
average return of Tesco is low as compared to Morrisons and Sainsbury. The main reason behind the
low average return of Tesco as compared to Morrisons and Sainsbury is due to the difference in the
share price of Morrisons and Sainsbury. The share prices of Morrisons and Sainsbury is high as
compared to Tesco i.e. their share prices are above hundred whereas the share price of Tesco is below
%10. This is the main reason behind the low average return of Tesco.
With reference to the average return, the variance figures of Tesco are indicating the disparity and
dispersion as compared to the variance figures of Morrison and Sainsbury. The high variance is
depicting high fluctuation in the share prices. But if we look at the actual share price figures, it depicts
that the share price of Tesco is stable as that of Morrisons and Sainsbury. Hence again it can be said
that the huge difference in the share price of Tesco as compared to Morrison and Sainsbury can be the
main reason behind the high variance return of

All that Heaven Allows by Douglas Sirk
In the 1950 s the melodrama genre came to age and there is no better example than Douglas Sirk s All
that Heaven Allows. The melodrama followed some basic characteristics which can be identified in
the film. First and foremost the narrative of the melodrama focused on the family. All that Heaven
Allows follows the narrative of the typical melodrama but at the same time also challenges the social
conventions. While Sirk follows many of the key themes he does so in a more detached fashion. The
protagonist Cary is bound to her community by her social class. Change was occurring in society and
the melodrama displayed people s restraint to this. In All that Heaven Allows Sirk began his focus on
the female and her desires in contrast to the more conservative male focused melodrama. As with the
melodrama the legibility of the story, displayed through the plot, is simple and easy to follow. Our
engagement with the story depends on our understanding of the pattern of change and stability, cause
and effect, time and space (Bordwell and Thompson, 2008). The linear time flow of the film allows
for it s simple understanding. This is added to by the expressiveness of the melodrama, where
everything is brought into the open and nothing is left unsaid. The expressiveness of the melodrama is
also represented in the highly expressive mise en scene. Sirks use of colour, the human figure, camera
work, lighting and music allow him to portray suppressed meaning and significance.

The Care Of Heart Failure Patients Essay
Does the Use of Telemonitoring in the Care of Heart Failure Patients Reduce Hospitalization?
The heart is a vital organ that the body needs in order to survive and according to the Center for
Disease Control (CDC) 5.7 million people in the United States suffer from heart failure (HF) and
about half of heart failure patients die within five years of diagnosis, (CDC, n.d.). Heart failure is the
inability of the heart to pump blood sufficiently in order to meet the body s need. Heart failure is the
main reason for inpatient hospitalization and readmission in adults over 65 years old (Smith, 2013).
Advances in technology continue to change the practice of nursing and healthcare. Telemonitoring is
one major advance in technology that is changing the role and practice of nursing today.
Telemonitoring involves healthcare workers remotely monitoring patient s vital signs daily with the

ability is gauged by considering the company s Total Current Assets both liquid and illiquid, relative
to its Total Current Liabilities. The higher the ratio, the more capable Jayadiri is in paying all its short

the workings, Jayadiri is in a reasonably good liquidity as it has sufficient current assets to pay all its

Or, a company may use debt to buy back shares, thereby increasing the return on investment to the

Low Voter Turnout Essay
As the decline in voter turnout affects Canada and most western democracies, there is an increasing
urgency to find a solution to this trend. This paper will evaluate whether civic education is indeed a
solution to the trend, in hopes of re engaging citizens. I would argue that civic education is a crucial
measure to be taken in order to inform and mobilize voters. It is said, without question, that a
politically savvy population is more inclined to engage in political participation. However, believing
that civic education alone is the silver bullet solution to declining voter turnout is overly optimistic.
Why is low voter turnout a concern? Simply put, non participatory citizens are disengaged from an
important aspect of political life. One s decision to to participate can be linked to several issues. The
concern facing the pattern of disengagement is that it lowers our collective ... Show more content on

However, the reality one faces when observing the outcome of such an initiative proves that it is not
so cut and dry. Civic education in Canada has been met with a number of challenges. One primary
issue is the lack of parity. As stated in Canada s Constitution Act of 1867, there is no federal
department of education and no integrated national system of education. Therefore, in each province,
the legislature makes education laws exclusively. They are therefore responsible for the organization,
delivery and assessment of education at the elementary, secondary and even postsecondary level.
Moreover, it is difficult to immediately assess the impact of civic education on voter turnout. This is
mainly because the majority of students who take civic education are not yet of voting age. Therefore,
the benefits of civic education can only be evaluated objectively at a later

Essay about Behind the Scenes of Politics
Since the rise of the New Deal American political consultants have become a sought after commodity.
After the 1930 s the United States moved to broader theoretical models of political change, thus
leaving candidates the need to widely promote their ideologies to obtain votes.1 The growth of the
media during this time changed the handling of campaigns and as a result left political candidates to
aggressively pursue political consultants to advocate their elections in the interest of the aspirant s

Compatibility of Free Will in The Tenseless Theory of Time...
, The debate between free will and fatalism has existed since the conceptualization of time. On one
hand, in everyday life, time flows in a uniform fashion. People experience time in which there is a
past, present, and a future. Yet, physicists and philosophers see time as something completely
different. In fact, they see time as an illusion. Called the tenseless theory of time, time does not flow
but this theory views time as a fourth dimension where all past, present, and future events are equal
(Callender Edney, 2004). Essentially, this theory proposes that there is no passage of time and no
becoming of future events. As a result, one can view this theory as a block universe in which every
event that has happened, is happening as of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, if fatalism is about the penultimate outcome, then free will is the process about decision making
that leads up to the final outcome. Not only does free will exist, it can also be viewed as compatible
with the tenseless theory of time as well. Firstly, fatalism alludes to the idea that what happened was
always going to happen. Fatalism is the view in which it implies there are no alternate possibilities.
The tenseless theory of time is committed to this belief. Yet, this assumption is still ambiguous. The
brain and especially the mind is complex. Experiments done in the field of neuroscience have tried to
resolve this particular question. Can it be shown that what will happen has already been pre
determined in the mind? One experiment, conducted by Benjamin Libet (1983), tried to answer this
question. In the experiment, he would ask each participant to sit at a desk in front of a timer. He would
put electrodes onto the scalp and ask the participant to carry out a motor activity, such as a flick of the
wrist. He would also ask the participant to note the position of the timer when the participant felt that
they were urged to do the activity. Libet found there was a 200 millisecond delay, on average, between

Discussion Of Potato Titration
The purpose of the iodimetric back titration, a form of redox titration, experiment is to determine the
weigh percentage of ascorbic acid in Vitamin C tablets. The experiment is performed by titrating
iodine solution that contains the dissolved ascorbic acid with sodium thiosulfate. The results of the
titration was inconclusive, and the weight percentage of the ascorbic acid could not be determined.
Several sources of error could explain the variation of titrated volume of sodium thiosulfate. These
sources of error include oxidation of sodium thiosulfate, the oxidation of ascorbic acid, the instability
of the iodide solution, and the starch indicator. Most of the sources of error are problems with samples
and solution being oxidized by the atmosphere. The results of the current experiment is dependent on
correcting the sources of error. To decrease the oxidation by air, prompt titrations are needed and
glassware that are light sensitive are needed to ensure that the sodium thiosulfate solution does not
oxidize.
Introduction The experiment is a redox titration process. A redox titration involves an oxidation
reduction reaction between an analyte and the titrate (Harris, 2016, p. 374). Iodine is commonly used
in a redox titration as it is a versatile redox reagent. Therefore, iodine can be a moderately weak
oxidizing agent or a moderately weak reducing agents depending in the presence of strong oxidants or

This versatility allows iodine to be

exposed to violence. In addition, people a treatment became very rude with Muslims because they
thought Muslims are agree with American s situation. For example, my uncle came with his family in
2003; they faced a lot of problems with American people. Also, while his wife was wearing Islamic
dress, she got a lot of harassments from citizens. So, they could not stay more than one week then they
decided to travel to Canada to complete their vacation. In my experience, sometimes old people called

The Problem Of Population Health
Population health revolves around the ability to stratify patients to understand the population and
address disparities in care (Darves, 2015). The stratification measures allow the provider to track
trends and improve the health of patients. This process often requires population health councils,
leaders, providers and employees and breaking away from hospital or practice centric and focusing on
the patient (Darves, 2015). The change will require special handling with a physician leader and a non
aggressive management (Darves, 2015). Develop care continuum models in the hospital and
community system to link patients back to their primary care provider. In addition, select clinics and
pilot the program focusing on high risk patients and a selected disease management state such as
diabetes, heart failure and COPD targeting high utilization and setting care protocols to gain support
and demonstrate the success of the model (Darves, 2015). The shift to population health management
is labor, technology and financial intensive. In the past patients received the same care, however with
population health stratify the population and developing care models for each segment of high risk,
rising risk and health along with providing education to the staff and community will help deliver

The Tariff Of Foreign Goods
A tariff is a tax on foreign goods. The price of foreign goods increases with the tax, and provides
revenue for the government, which makes American products more appealing. This is because the
foreign goods that were cheaper are now more expensive. However, why was there a need for tariffs in
the early 19th century (1800)? The reason is because, American industries were young, Britain flooded
the US market with cheap goods after the War of 1812, and foreign goods have been often cheaper. In
order to make sure American businesses could prosper, there had to be tariffs on the foreign goods.
The tariff of 1816 was the first substantial protective tariff of the American System; supported by
Henry Clay, but opposed by John C. Calhoun and Southern cotton growers. The tariff of 1824
increased the rate of the protective tariff and opposition in the South grew. In the Tariff of 1828 (Tariff
of Abominations), there were higher protective tariffs to New England Mills; and Southerners were
outraged including Calhoun.
On July 11, 1804, a bullet from Aaron Burr s pistol put an end to the life of Alexander Hamilton.
However, it did not put an end to Hamilton s vision for America. In 1806, a twenty nine year old
Kentuckian entered the U.S Senate and breathed life into Hamilton s vision. His name was Henry
Clay. For the next forty years, the man whom Abraham Lincoln called My beau ideal of a statesman to
natiously strove to implement a federal economic policy that closely followed

Abstract Detection and treatment of malocclusions and other dental deformities are a considerable field of work in the plan of orthodontic treatment. Severe malformations of the midface such as maxillary or mandibular deformity can be treated by the distraction and reformation of skull bones. During an operation, the appropriate bony part of the mid face is separated from the rest of the skull (osteotomy), slowly moved into the ideal position by way of a distraction device. In the current clinical practice, planning for orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery was based on Computed Tomography (CT) data sets. CT images are inefficient for helping the orthodontists and surgeons in treatment and surgical planning. A tool is needed to help the physicians and surgeons in the treatment planning in order to anticipate the results and give the accurate decision, in this paper there are preliminary descriptive studies on DICOM images of the skull to help the orthodontists by providing the following algorithms: Segmentation of the lower jaw (mandible), Segmentation of the upper jaw (maxilla) from CT data, Segmentation of upper teeth, each tooth and computation of mandible volume. Keywords: CT scans, threshold, K mean, Region growing, DICOM. Introduction The need for clear images of cranial morphology has an important role in the progress of treatment and planning for craniofacial surgery [1]. (Sarlós) Due to lack of congruent evidence or remains from those summer months, several myths have arisen regarding the Provincetown Players founding, leaving the group s beginnings fairly open to interpretation. The only three factors in the groups birth beyond dispute are as follows: the plays were first thought of as a profoundly therapeutic party game for a small, close nit group; the idea no sooner emerged than it materialized in the form of scripts; Jig Cook was spiritus rector before it all began. Overnight, the performances became the talk of Provincetown s artist colony and repeat performances were demanded by many who missed the first one and the demand was satisfied. As the summer progressed, two more plays were developed by the vacationing artists, and their stage moved to a fish house turned makeshift theatre owned by Player members Joe and Mary O Brien. It is this construction that came to be the company s first theatre, known as the Lewis Wharf, where the vivacious life of the Provincetown Players began. With the sea as the backdrop, many of the Player s performances were set, purposefully, at the sea. The following year, the group met once more at the old Wharf now with a greater sense of direction and organization fueled by the response their productions generated the year prior. Now newly renovated (with the installation of electricity) and cleaned, the Wharf was ready to set the stage for the Players first bill of three plays which sold out at 50 cents per ticket in no time. This proved a huge success and led to a series of plays throughout the entire summer, all now performed at the Wharf Theatre. The Players also caught the eyes of the media, and received rave reviews in the Chicago Post and the Boston Globe (Pictured above). It is interesting to note ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once hearing that Valentine had been poison, the Count states, What is it to me? (Dumas, 517). This shows that the Count is a new person indeed, since if it was Edmond Dantes, he would have sprung up and run over to Valentine to help her since he had acquired a knowledge of medicines to help poisoned people. If Edmond Dantes was still living up to his birth name, he would not have acted and said these things, unless he really changed who he originally was. Even though, the Count tried to become a new person both physically and mentally, the old Edmond Dantes still interfered with his actions. When Morrel comes to the Count and tells him about Valentines poison, the Count thinks nothing of it, but as soon as Morrel told the Count that he loves Valentine, old Edmond Dantes shines through. When Valentine and the Count converse in chapter sixty one, the Count remarks, I have not closed my eyes for an instant during the last four nights; for the last four nights I have been watching over you to protect and preserve you for our friend Maximilian (Dumas, 526). This shows that the Count did not really care for Valentine, but as soon as a loyal family friend as the Morrel s asked for his help, Edmond Dantes stepped up and would do anything to lend a helping hand. Marjorie Gunnoe, a psychology professor, did a study that found that people who could recall being spanked as a child had performed better in school and showed more optimistic qualities than people who were not spanked. The research completely contradicted the studies that showed spanking to be harmful. (3) Some experts take note that 50 years ago the majority of children were spanked by their parents and today there is a significant decline in the amount of children being spanked; but today more children are shown to be aggressive than in the past. There is also a possibility that the bad effects in spanked children could have been caused by the child s personality or the behavioral differences that warranted the spankings. (4) I think the second argument is stronger because it takes in account that all spankings might not be bad or harmful. Many studies against spanking do not differentiate the intensity of a spanking; a simple spanking is a world of difference from child abuse. (4) It was also be concluded by both sides of the argument that children from the ages of two to six can benefit from spanking. [IMAGE] Assembly Rooms, Bath The first site on Orchard Street underwent its most noticeable changes when people first started accusing it of being too small to house the audience numbers it was attracting. Plans were drawn up to improve the appearance of the Theatre in 1766. Money was spent on general improvements of the auditorium and a lofty dome decorated with statues of Apollo and Muses replaced the initial flat ceiling. • 24. The Epic War By Homer The Iliad may be seen as an account of circumstances that really change the life of one man, Achilles, one of the greatest Achaeans warriors. The loyal war hero is the main character in the Iliad. It is his storyline that creates the essence of the epic war written by Homer. When the poem is first read it seems as though the main theme is about the dominance, gruesomeness, horror, and plain destruction of Troy, however this is not the main focus. We see Achilles transform from youth to adulthood and go through fundamental personality and character changes from a ferocious warrior in the beginning to a more reserved and hospitable man by the end of the poem. Nine years after the start of the Trojan War, the Achaeans attack Chryse, a small town allied with Troy. During the battle, the Achaeans capture two beautiful maidens, Chryseis and Briseis. Agamemnon, the forces leader, takes Chryseis as his prize, and Achilles claims Briseis. For their selfishness Apollo sends a plague on the Achaeans camp. Many die from the plague, so Agamemnon turns to the prophet Calchas to determine the cause of the plague and learns that Chryseis is the cause, so he gives her up and demands Achilles war prize, Briseis. Furious Achilles returns to his tent and refuses to fight the war and instead wants to take revenge against Agamemnon. Before this bulletin it was not normal for the lessee to disclose the fact that the company was in a contract long term lease of an asset. The Accounting Institute of Certified Public Accountants felt that investors and other decision making personnel should have the right to know about leases in which a company was contractually bound. The committee states in this bulletin that when it clearly evident that the lessee will have ownership of the asset after all payments are made, that the lessee should account for this in the assets and liabilities of the company s Balance Sheet. The committee believes that the AICPA issued the opinion that all long term leases should be disclosed in the financial statements or the footnotes. These disclosures include the payment amounts and other obligations assumed not only in the year in which they occurred but any material amounts in the life of the lease. (Committee on Accounting Procedure, American Institute of Accountants, 1949) Although, the main point of this bulletin was to address long term leases, the AICPA never formally defines what it means by a long term lease which can be assumed to be what modern day accounting defines as a capital lease. The purpose of the bulletin was not to address short term leases (now called operating leases) because there was no exchange of rights in these situations. Although the above opinion was ... This is a perfect example of the darkness that is embedded in the world. People s psyches are so concerned about the worst of possibilities that we seldom look at the positive ways in which we can improve our world for the better. The light that can offer some answers may be the consent of all nations to reach an agreement on every major international issue such as the battle over nuclear weapons. I find it hard to believe that in a world where we have so much potential to rid the ills of society with diplomacy, we often resolve to arms and violence. Dr. King was referring to the plight of African Americans (particularly in the South) when he said that hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Dr. King was in essence preaching to those that wanted integration, and civil rights that the only way you can achieve anything is with love. Dr. King knew that hate often results in violence, and using violence as a means to a gain at a time when our nation was engaged in a deadly war will not have been in the best interest of a nation that needed cohesiveness amongst all its citizens. The melodrama followed some basic characteristics which can be identified in the film. First and foremost the narrative of the melodrama focused on the family. All that Heaven Allows follows the narrative of the typical melodrama but at the same time also challenges the social conventions. While Sirk follows many of the key themes he does so in a more detached fashion. The protagonist Cary is bound to her community by her social class. Change was occurring in society and the melodrama displayed people s restraint to this. In All that Heaven Allows Sirk began his focus on the female and her desires in contrast to the more conservative male focused melodrama. As with the melodrama the legibility of the story, displayed through the plot, is simple and easy to follow. Our engagement with the story depends on our understanding of the pattern of change and stability, cause and effect, time and space (Bordwell and Thompson, 2008). The linear time flow of the film allows for it s simple understanding. This is added to by the expressiveness of the melodrama, where everything is brought into the open and nothing is left unsaid. The expressiveness of the melodrama is also represented in the highly expressive mise en scene. Sirks use of colour, the human figure, camera work, lighting and music allow him to portray suppressed meaning and significance. (b) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Compatibility of Free Will in The Tenseless Theory of Time... , The debate between free will and fatalism has existed since the conceptualization of time. On one hand, in everyday life, time flows in a uniform fashion. People experience time in which there is a past, present, and a future. Yet, physicists and philosophers see time as something completely different. In fact, they see time as an illusion. Called the tenseless theory of time, time does not flow but this theory views time as a fourth dimension where all past, present, and future events are equal (Callender Edney, 2004). Essentially, this theory proposes that there is no passage of time and no becoming of future events. Thus, if fatalism is about the penultimate outcome, then free will is the process about decision making that leads up to the final outcome. Not only does free will exist, it can also be viewed as compatible with the tenseless theory of time as well. Firstly, fatalism alludes to the idea that what happened was always going to happen. Fatalism is the view in which it implies there are no alternate possibilities. The tenseless theory of time is committed to this belief. Yet, this assumption is still ambiguous. • 37. Discussion Of Potato Titration The purpose of the iodimetric back titration, a form of redox titration, experiment is to determine the weigh percentage of ascorbic acid in Vitamin C tablets. The experiment is performed by titrating iodine solution that contains the dissolved ascorbic acid with sodium thiosulfate. The results of the titration was inconclusive, and the weight percentage of the ascorbic acid could not be determined. Several sources of error could explain the variation of titrated volume of sodium thiosulfate. These sources of error include oxidation of sodium thiosulfate, the oxidation of ascorbic acid, the instability of the iodide solution, and the starch indicator. Most of the sources of error are problems with samples and solution being oxidized by the atmosphere. The results of the current experiment is dependent on correcting the sources of error. To decrease the oxidation by air, prompt titrations are needed and glassware that are light sensitive are needed to ensure that the sodium thiosulfate solution does not oxidize. Introduction The experiment is a redox titration process. A redox titration involves an oxidation reduction reaction between an analyte and the titrate (Harris, 2016, p. 374). The stratification measures allow the provider to track trends and improve the health of patients. • 40. The Tariff Of Foreign Goods A tariff is a tax on foreign goods. The price of foreign goods increases with the tax, and provides revenue for the government, which makes American products more appealing. This is because the foreign goods that were cheaper are now more expensive. However, why was there a need for tariffs in the early 19th century (1800)? The reason is because, American industries were young, Britain flooded the US market with cheap goods after the War of 1812, and foreign goods have been often cheaper. In order to make sure American businesses could prosper, there had to be tariffs on the foreign goods. The tariff of 1816 was the first substantial protective tariff of the American System; supported by Henry Clay, but opposed by John C. Calhoun and Southern cotton growers. The tariff of 1824 increased the rate of the protective tariff and opposition in the South grew.
