Data Center Assurance Program Project
Process Analysis
Cisco Systems went ahead with modified version of waterfall model for Data Center Assurance
Program (DCAP) project. Though waterfall model is old and have less success rate, it suited DCAP
project quite well. As the goals and scope of the project is fixed throughout the project and release
cycles are about 6 8 months it is easy to use waterfall model. Partial overlap between various phases
existed. This allowed for parallel execution of few tasks and helped in effective resource utilization
and on time project delivery. All the engineers are involved in all the stages of the project. Also there
any enough resources to replace the ones who left the project. Standard disaster recovery practices of a
real time production data center are not fallowed, but those required for the project to replicate the real
time scenario are used. For instance, to make sure the real time environment like distance between two
data centers, wan emulators are used.
Effectiveness of Initial Planning The detailed analysis of requirements and studying the real time
scenario by visiting customer s location proved to be good in refining project goals. No all the project
members are given opportunity to study customer s environment which is practiced due to budget
issues. The decision to fallow modified version of water fall model fitted the project quite well. But
the overlapping of the phases is not quite long and proved deficient. This resulted in ineffective
resource utilization.

Essay about Night by Elie Wiesel and The Hiding Place by...
The chaos and destruction that the Nazi s are causing are not changing the lives of only Jews, but also
the lives of citizens in other countries. Between Night by Elie Wiesel and The Hiding Place by Corrie
ten Boom, comradeship, faith, strength, and people of visions are crucial to the survival of principle
characters. Ironically, in both stories there is a foreseen future, that both seemed to be ignored. Before
the Great War begins affecting the Wiesel s and ten Boom s lives, both families experience a
premonition of a dark future ahead of them. Ironically, neither family chooses to listen to these signs.
In the novel Night, there are two events of visions. One is a character named Moshe the Beadle. He is
a premonition for the town of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I see a fire! I see a fire! (Wiesel 24). Everyone in the cart began to panic and look out to window;
however, there was nothing but the darkness of the night sky. Madame Schachters episodes kept going
on throughout the night until others had to beat her in order for her to be quiet. The train arrived at
Auschwitz, and as Madame Schachter began to scream again, the train stopped, this time we saw
flames rising from a tall chimney into a black sky (28). Whether Madame Schachter was actually
seeing the flames or they were just visions in her mind, she was a warning to the others to be afraid of
the fire. In the novel, The Hiding Place, Corrie s only brother Willem writes a doctoral thesis of a
terrible evil that is taking place in Germany. He wrote this paper at the university he was attending.
Willem spoke of a hatred for human life that the world has never seen before, He said, seeds were
being planted of a contempt for human life such as the world had never seen (ten Boom 29). There is
no explanation as to why these warnings were ignored. Survivors today beat themselves up
psychologically asking, why? Why did I not listen? Why were we all so oblivious to all of the rumors?
Throughout experiences in both of the novels, it is clear that having friends and connections in the
camps and prisons is crucial for survival and communication. In the beginning of

Heroics of Women in Ibsens A Dolls House Essay
Heroics of Women in Ibsens A Dolls House The Heroics of Women
Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House is a play about a young wife and her husband. Nora and Helmer seem
to be madly in love with one another and very happy with their lives together. Yet the conflict comes
into this show when Nora brags to her friend Ms. Linde about how she had forged her father s name to
borrow money to save her husband s life and how she had been secretly paying off this debt. Helmer
finds out about this crime and is furious, until he finds that no one will ever know about it. This entire
conflict is written to bring to light the ridiculous social expectations demanded of both women and
men. Ibsen expertly leads the audience into accepting that these ... Show more content on

He gives her extra money for Christmastime expenditures and also seeks to give her some luxurious.
Tell me just what within reason you d most like to have. (Ibsen 1570) Helmer is a certainly a man that
lives up to what is expected of him, inside and outside the home.
Nora, as a woman, also has many expectations she must try to live up to. By natural design, women
are not good with money, with planning, or with complicated thinking. They are certainly the
underclass of the sexes. This condition was caused by the fact that women were forced to mold
themselves into a model themselves that men deem desirable and best. The wants and desires of
women were put aside so that they may better perform the role of pleasing the men in their lives. They
were there to support their husbands and help carry on the tasks of keeping the house in order, or they
re to care for their fathers and clean his house of generally care for him. This entire social condition
became an inescapable cycle, since men chose what men should and would be like and they chose as
suits them. A woman did not have the opportunity to go out and find herself or to further her own
talents and abilities. They were instead molded into a shape that would further enhance the men s
talents and abilities. Yet even though the weakest characteristics were attributed to women, great
responsibility was put on them as regarding the raising of their children. It was commonly assumed

Compare and Contrast Totalitarian and Democracy Propaganda
Propaganda is influencing the attitude of countries and nation s communities toward some cause or
position. There are two different extreme types of systems of government that use propaganda,
totalitarian and democracy. In a totalitarian government, this government has power over every aspect
of personal and private life. It is an extremely controlling and dictatorial type of government. On the
opposite end of the spectrum is the democracy government where the people get to vote for the party
they want to rule. This type of government is open and extremely permissive and allows freedom of
speech and freedom of the press.
A totalitarian government and a democracy government have two completely different aspects of how
to rule. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Nazi party in Germany was a prime example of a totalitarian government and used propaganda
during World War II. The leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler, saw propaganda as a vehicle of
political salesmanship in a mass market. Hitler really admired American propaganda. He admired it so
much, he appointed Nazi Joseph Goebbels as Germany s minister of propaganda. Goebbels used art
propaganda to glorify the state and attack those who were considered an enemy. In 1933 when the
Nazi party assumed power, propaganda was used it to show that it is a positive form of government
and take control over the public opinion ( Propaganda ).
The United States is a democracy government that has the most effective and powerful propaganda in
the world. The United States figured out that people respond the best to emotional appeals. This was
the birth of American propaganda in the advertising industry. Fear, hatred, lust, greed and envy are
good tools for propaganda, but fear is the most motivating. In the United States, the top ways that
industries used propaganda to make more sales was to advertising sexiness, pride of ownership, and
fear of falling behind your neighbors ( Pure ). Hitler s goals for propaganda were to get German s to
believe that all races other then the Aryan races are bad. Two of the main groups he focused on were
the Jews and the handicaps. He told the German people that Jews and

Lusitania And The Piggies Analysis
Ender Wiggins showed interest in the Lusitania and the Piggies ever since he heard about the horrific
death of Pipo. This news from Jane on his death gave him an idea that would put a smile on his face.
The intricacies of the universe made it difficult for Ender to reach his primary goal of finding a place
for the Hive Queen. Ender thought that Lusitania was the right place. The only problem was that
lusitania was already inhabited by the piggies. The starways congress did not allow the humans to
share information with the piggies but this is disobeyed on many occasions. In doing this, the piggies
not only learn from Ender, but Ender learns from the piggies. Before Ender, the culture and habits of
the piggies were unknown. Through compassion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marcao beat Novinha but not for the reason everyone thought. Ender tells the crowd this as he speaks
for him. Marcao was not a weak and evil man. He was a strong man. He didn t want power. He wanted
love. Not control. Loyalty. (Card 261). Ender knew that this is not what everyone wanted to hear but it
was the truth and this helped the family come to terms with their father. When Marcao beat Novinha,
she believed she deserved it. The more Ender kept speaking the more the family began to forgive him.
Then Ender hit them with the big news about Libo being the father of Novinhas kids and all hell broke
loose. He talked about the agreement she made with Libo and Marcao. Then the question arose, why
would Marcao agree to this? Then Ender gave us with this hard hitting response. Most of all, though,
he married her because he loved her. He never really hoped that she would love him the way he loved
her, because he worshipped her, she was goddess, and he knew that he was diseased, filthy, an animal
to be despised. He knew she could not worship him, or even love him. He hoped that someday she
might feel some affection. That she might feel some loyalty. (Card 268). Novinha knew this to be true
and her children began to feel empathetic. Her children began to understand. The scene concludes
with the most powerful line in the book. The words left ashes in their hearts. (Card 270). Not only did
Ender s words affect the family, but they affected the community as well. Ender made an impact on
the family and the community alike. Cramer s idea of sensations aroused in the reader really makes
sense here. The style that was used in this chapter captures emotional sensations in the reader that

Market Structure Of An Economics Perspective Essay
Introduction
Market structure from an economics perspective is defined as the characteristics of the market that
impacts the behavior or way firms operate, which economists use to determine the nature of
competition, and pricing tactics of businesses in the market. Within a market, the market structures are
distinguished by key features, including the number of sellers, homogeneous or differentiated goods or
services produced, pricing power, level of competition, barriers to entering or exit the markets,
efficiency, and profits. The interaction and differences among these features resulted in four market
structures of competition: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly.
Economist assembled the four market structures into two groups; perfectly competitive market and
imperfectly competitive market, which are vastly distinct when it come to the different market
competitions that need to be satisfied.
A major issue for existing firms in some market structures is the entry of new competitors, and this is
because of the potentially unfavorable effects new participants might have on the market s real
revenue and profits. Entry barriers are specifically designed to prevent new competitors from entering
a profitable market freely. Based on the level of barriers, it can be relatively easy or difficult for new
firms to enter the market. Therefore, high entry barriers may have a positive or negative influence a
firm s long run profitability, cost

The Garlic Rainforest
Garlic mustard was introduced from Europe either accidently or intentionally as a cooking herb in the
United States. Within a short time span, they can spread from small area by overtaking large forest
area. The seeds of the garlic mustard remain in the soil for five or more years. The plant identification
phase is formed by the leaves being alternative, being triangular to heart shaped, or being scalloped
edged and also giving off an odor of garlic when crushed. This odor can be used for distinguishing
between garlic mustard from native plants such as evergreen violets, piggy back plant and fringecup
plants as well. It will also help to distinguish non native plants such as the silver dollar plant.
Garlic mustard has two growing seasons. The first growing season is in early March and then the
second growing season occurs in April. The second growing season includes plants that have flower
stalks that range from 12 to 48 inches tall. It is also topped with a cluster of white, four petaled
flowers. The seeds of garlic mustard form in narrow, green seed pods ... Show more content on

This method involves cutting the shrub off close to the ground and then applying an herbicide to the
cut surfaces using a spray bottle, paintbrush or roller. After the cut, whether to use oil or water soluble
herbicide depends on the timing of the herbicide application left there. Herbicides that is used with
water should be applied to the ⅓ outer top of the stump within minutes of making cut. When utilizing
oil in herbicide, plan to cut and then later return to treat the stumps. Thus, applying oil soluble to

Misinterpreting Of The Book The Bible Is Everything
1. If you carefully consider the surrounding context of a passage, but ignore its literary genre, it could
result in significant consequences, such as, committing damage to the original meaning of the text. It
is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning. Duvall and
Hays explains in their book how the Bible is everything . Therefore, without understanding the
context, there is no meaning because each story/literature in the Bible has its own specific rules that
we all need to understand. Without understanding the exact meanings, we risk misinterpreting the
word and spreading false scripture.

The Raft Of Flowers By Robert Frost
In his poem The Tuft of Flowers, Robert Frost tells the story of a lonely man who is turning grass in a
field after a mower has cut it down. Though the man at first believes he is completely alone and that
all other people are too, he later reevaluates that position, concluding the opposite that connections
exist between everyone and everything and that nobody is ever alone. Frost argues that one is never
truly alone as all people are connected to each other. Initially, the speaker in the poem feels lonely and
unconnected to the world around him, I must be, as he had been, alone, (ln 8). Frost s use of
punctuation is especially interesting in this phrase as he uses a comma immediately before an em dash,
enormously exaggerating the pause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frost s use of personification in this line is overwhelming, calling attention to the speaker s newly
awakened sense of closeness with other people. The speaker, overjoyed to see the tuft of flowers
amidst the destruction of the rest of the field, realizes that the mower must have also seen the beauty
of the flowers, noting, The mower in the dew had loved them thus,/By leaving them to flourish, not
for us (ln 27 28). The speaker understands that the mower had left the flowers for purely selfish
reasons, but at the same time, he feels connected to the mower on the basis that they had both
recognized and admired the beauty of the flowers. This revelation leads him to conclude that people
are connected to each other in both obvious and subtle ways, calling the mower a spirit kindred to my
own (ln. 35). Interestingly, lines 9 and 10 are juxtaposed with the last two lines of the poem: Men
work together, I told him from the heart,/ Whether they work together or apart (ln 41 42). Not only
does the speaker contradict his earlier statement, but Frost also mirrors the wording, the two sentences
appearing nearly identical, in order to create a visual representation of the meaning of his words:
people are more alike than they are different and therefore bonds exist between all people. Frost also
structures the poem in such a way

Reflective Essay On Student Behavior
Initial thoughts: Ms. Rollison needs to understand that students behave differently which will require a
different way to approach their behavior. In most cases, when a student is acting out it is due to
something stressful they are experiencing. A young student does not communicate their wants and
needs well, this causes them to express their emotion is not the best manner. When children need are
not met they will misbehave more frequently. Therefore, Ms. Rollison will need to understand and
have patience with the student because there is always a reason behind why the student is
misbehaving.
Final thoughts: Students behavior can be influenced by many things such as their cultural influences,
living situation, and what they are exposed to. Ms. Rollison needs to be aware of the cultural influence
that affects the student s behavior. Every culture is different and it influences how a student will
interact and respond to authority. Culture can influence the way they talk with their peers, views on
sharing, and the way they act all around. Having many students with different culture background
leads to a diverse class with different views on how they act toward their peers.
Ms. Rollison needs to approach the classroom with an open mind and interact with the kids and learn
their behaviors. Moreover, she needs to learn what impact their behavior and understand that not
everybody views the world the same because outside factors play a role in the student s behavior.
Something that Ms. Rollison views as being impolite or rude, might be seen as something suitable in
her student s culture. Understanding other students culture is extremely important because when she
creates her classroom management plan, she will know what will be appropriate for her students.
Question 2: What can Ms. Rollison do to increase the chances that her students will behave
appropriately in class?
Initial thoughts: There is many technique Ms. Rollison can use to help with her students behaving
appropriately in the classroom. One technique she could use is at the beginning of the year ask the
students what type of rule they would like to have in the classroom. The student will more likely obey
the class rules because they had a part in

Business Valuation Is The Process Of Estimating What...
MINI RESEARCH PROJECT CONTENTS Business Valuation: In finance, valuation is the process of
estimating what something is worth. Items that are usually valued are a financial asset or liability.
Valuations can be done on assets (for example, investments in marketable securities such as stocks,
options, business enterprises, or intangible assets such as patents and trademarks) or on liabilities (e.g.,
bonds issued by a company). Valuations are needed for many reasons such as investment analysis,
capital budgeting, merger and acquisition transactions, financial reporting, taxable events to determine
the proper tax liability, and in litigation. Business valuation is a process and a set of procedures used
to estimate the economic value of an owner s interest in a business. Valuation is used by financial
market participants to determine the price they are willing to pay or receive to effect a sale of a
business. Research Financial Analysis: The financial statement analysis generally involves Common
Size Analysis (a company s financial statement that displays all items as percentages of a common
base figure), Ratio Analysis (liquidity, turnover, profitability, etc.), Trend Analysis (the practice of
collecting information and attempting to spot a pattern, or trend, in the information.) and Industry
Comparative Analysis. This permits the valuation analyst to compare the subject company to other
businesses in the same or similar industry, and to discover trends affecting

The Differences Between The And Of The Christian Realist...
The different Christian views struggle with the brokenness of human nature. The difference in views
lies in how this brokenness is interpreted. How does one balance the human being who is born in the
image and likeness of God, yet, has fallen from grace? The two distinct views will revolve around
seeking answers to this question, and what is the best way to act on these answers in dealing with the
broken human. It becomes a question of mercy and grace in this world versus a constant searching by
the human, which only ends in the presence of God. The latter reflects the view of the Christian
Realist.
The philosopher and father of the Christian Realist position, Reinhold Niebuhr, argues that Augustine
s City of God lays the foundation for the Christian realist thought. It is in this work that Augustine
presents a realistic view of humankind that was in contrast with the classical view of the human being.
The latter s view idealized human s unlimited potential because of their ability to reason. Niebuhr
argues that this difference in the viewpoints of Augustine and the classical philosophers lies in
Augustine s biblical, rather than rationalistic, conception of human selfhood with the ancillary
conception of the seat of evil being in the self (Niebuhr, Christian Realism and Political Problems 123
124). It is from this concept that Niebuhr argues that human nature is evil as a result of sin. This sinful
nature of the human has forever shaped his movements. It drives his

The Underlying Metaphysical Aspect Of The Songs
The Who have always produced ground breaking, powerful songs. From youth inspired My
Generation to the ever popular and movie producing, Tommy, audiences have been singing their songs
with quiet determination and revelry. This band did not stick to one style, as they grew older, their
music evolved. At the age of 70, both Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry are still rocking out to
thousands. Though the band went through break ups and loss of members, they will always be known
as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. In 1967 Pete became a follower of the Indian avatar
Meher Baba which inspired him to write the song, Bargain. Although released on the album, Who s
Next, was not even considered at top 20. The hits off of the album included songs like Baba O Riley
and See Me, Feel Me which were all written with a basic message about enlightenment.
The underlying metaphysical aspect of the songs is knowing that Townshend was a follower of Meher
Baba. The audiences trusts him as his sings about his struggle to find the spirituality he is so willing to
do anything for. I d gladly lose me to find you.. I d gladly give up all I had .... To find you I d suffer
anything and be glad these first lines makes use of epimone for emphasis. The purpose epimone in a
song by using frequent words, such as gladly, glad is to give a base for his intention to be true to what
he wants. Otherwise it would not be as effective. He is consistently using the same words

Teacher Student Relationship With Students
The Teacher Student Relationship
School begins at age five, or for some even before that, and so begins the excruciating routine of
waking up at an early hour to be ready to be at a place where you didn t ask to be, to be taught by an
older stranger about something you don t understand. However, in the life of a human being this
routine that goes on for years is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach about
subjects that you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on knowledge
to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will determine their future. Is
everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings of a total stranger? Of course not, therefore
this total stranger has to have an identification to the students, but not necessarily just a name.
Teachers must develop a relationship with their students because teacher student relationships affect a
student s academic excellence.
As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do everything, but
be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards learning? This resistance to education is
a nature acquired from the famous phrase that school is boring or school is hard and those rebellious
students disengage themselves from the class and teacher. When a child transitions into being a
student there has to be an engagement to pull them into a pleasure or some sort of ambition for
learning

Victorian Marriage
In Victorian England marriage was a necessity. If a woman did not marry well, then she could not
receive any of the advantages that a married woman received. Married women had financial security.
Married women had an estate (with their husband) where they could host guests. Married women had
children, and could fulfill the role of motherhood. Unmarried women did not have any of this, so from
a young age girls learned how to become suitable wives. A suitable wife needed to know how to
cook, clean house, sing, dance, play an instrument, become a hostess, and care for children. Once
married, the role of a woman became caring for the household, no matter what her marriage looked
like or why she married. In Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen shows her reader the importance of
marriage through couples who married for varying reasons.
A woman might marry due to a sense of duty. Austen shows the reader this through her character
Charlotte. Mr. Collins proposes to Charlotte Lucas soon after his offer Elizabeth rejects his offer.
Charlotte knows that her friend Elizabeth has declined Mr. Collins offer, and that it is not acceptable
for him to propose to someone else so soon after, but she accepts his proposal. When asked about it
later, Charlotte tells Elizabeth that she had to accept it because she might not ... Show more content on

that the family saw was to somehow convince Lydia to marry the man with whom she had run away.

The Picture Of Dorian Gray And Atlas Shrugged By Ayn Rand
It is a very well known trope of literature to pin characters against society or social expectations.
Nearly every piece of literature has some character who is displeased with how everybody else does
something, it does not make any difference what the thing is. Following this near necessary pattern,
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand have vital characters
who act differently than society hopes and expects. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dorian Gray and
Lord Henry Wotton are the main characters who represent the struggle of the individual versus society,
each in their own way. Lord Henry s philosophy is very self centered, with his own pleasures being
central to all aspects of his life. This belief system rubs off on Dorian early in the novel and as it
progresses, Dorian seems to care less and less about how society perceives him. He hides his true self
away from society and throws common practice, even laws, out the window. Dorian becomes a being
who lives only to please himself through whatever means. Atlas Shrugged has some self centered
characters of its own, stemming from Ayn Rand s philosophy of objectivism and her belief that self
preservation and self interest are the truest goals in life. Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden represent
this belief Rand holds so dear. On the other hand, Jim Taggart is shown as weak and nearly pathetic
due to his need to please everyone and fear of blame. He conforms to society so as to avoid conflict

Ethnic Stereotypes In Aladdin
The animated classical Disney movie Aladdin has became one of the most successful movies since it
was released in 1992. This movie may seem to be fairy tale based and entertaining for children since
they are the main target audience of Disney, but with a deeper look into its details this is not the reality
of it. The ideas that children are exposed to from watching this movie help create and structure their
mindsets as well as reinforcing unrealistic images of the Arabian world. In addition, Aladdin is a great
illustrative tool in reflecting the concept of Orientalism, a term coined by Edward Said, which
emphasizes on representing the Orient with certain clichés and characteristics that are misleading
about the true nature of reality (Said, 1978). With that been said, this review paper will be focusing on

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Trypanosomiasis
African Trypanosomiasis (Sleeping Sickness) Introduction: African Trypanosomiasis also known as
African sleeping sickness is a devastating zoonotic disease caused by a protozoan subspecies of
Trypanosoma through the bite of insect vectors of the genus Glossina (tsetse flies). Other than the
biting of flies, mechanical transmission through abraded wound also evident from the research. It
appears in different forms, is affected by varied epidemiological and ecological processes, and so is
difficult to pin down. One major consequence of this is that there has been, and remains, great
controversy about how to control the disease, and what to focus on through what methods. As per

(MKT505) Acer s strategy has been described as divide and conquer. Compare and contrast this to
Lenovo s strategy Acer is a global corporation headquartered in Taiwan. The company s products

Acer must take a much more aggressive approach to get their name more widely recognized in each
respective country. I ve seen Acer PC s in the store and they are price competitive but not too many
people are going to buy a PC from a company they never heard of. I suggest that Acer must market
their products in order to educate their target markets as to who they are, how long they have been
around, and the type of quality product they produce. I personally know after doing the research on
this report, I would not hesitate to buy an Acer tablet or PC, but not enough of us are enrolled at this
university to make a difference in Acer sales. Even before the current economic crisis deepened,
growth in the U.S. PC market had begun to slow down. Despite strong competition from Dell and
Hewlett Packard, Acer s U.S. market share increased from 1 percent in 2004 to 3.3 percent by the end
of 2006. Analyze Acer s prospects for gaining further share in the United States. I believe the biggest
reason for this is that Acer put a stronger focus on the consumer market versus the business market.
Companies such as Dell were much more focused on the business market during this time period
while Acer was offering low priced PC s to consumers. I also think Acer s lean supply chain allowed
them to enter the U.S. market with substantially lower

Urinary Tract Infection ( Uti ) Essay
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a microbial infection of the kidneys, ureters, bladder or urethra.
Urinary tract is the most common form of infection. Resistance to the extended spectrum
cephalosporins can occur in Klebsiella species due to production of the extended spectrum ß
lactamases (ESBLs) that make hydrolysis of the oxyiminocephalosporins and monobactams. The aim
of the present work was intended to be a prospective study of the plasmid features of Klebsiella
isolates, obtained from hospitalized patient. Klebsiella isolates under test were isolated from urine
samples which were collected aseptically from the different departments in the Alexandria Main
University Hospital. ESBL producing isolates of Klebsiella spp. Causing urinary tract infection were
screened for CTX M Β lactamases by PCR with primer specific to the conserved region of the coding
gene. The consensus primers were designed to amplify 546 bps of the CTX M β lactamase gene and
used to test the collected isolates. A PCR was followed by RFLP to differentiate of the CTX M
subtypes.
INTRODUCTION Pathogenesis of urinary tract infection involves complex interactions between an
organism, the environment, and the potential host. The urinary tract is the most common site of
infection. Klebsiella accounts for 6 to 17% of all nosocomial urinary tract infections (UTI. The
mortality rate in such patients is significantly higher than those observed in patients treated with
antibiotics to which the

The Future of Genetic Enhancement Essay
Genetic enhancement appears to be inevitable since technology is making a rapid turn towards genetic
enhancement. Because of this fact, concerns over how beneficial or harmful genetic enhancement
would be in the future have arisen. We, as a society, need to analyze both sides and decide for
ourselves whether we should support the progression of genetic enhancement or do everything in our
power to stall or halt it.
Genetic enhancement refers to the use of genetic engineering to modify a person s nonpathological
human traits. This concept is aimed at improving the quality of life of humans. Baylis and Robert
suggest that, using genetic enhancement, a person could make a physical alternation like increasing
muscle mass or slowing down the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Benefits from genetic enhancements are widespread. These benefits are evident in physical,
intellectual, psychological, and even moral enhancements. One of these benefits is undesired inherited
conditions which can be eliminated through genetic enhancement. Some parents believe they should
have the choice of preventing inherited diseases from being passed on from one generation to the next.
Most of these parents also want to make informed reproductive choices without outside pressures
(Iredale, Longley, Thomas, Shaw, 2006). With this physical enhancement, parents could get rid of all
the traits they are concerned about and end up with healthy, disease free children. Baylis and Robert
suggest that a physical enhancement that could be considered beneficial is reducing sleep dependence
(2004). A procrastinating undergraduate student who needs to study for a final or write a term paper
could use this enhancement for their own benefit. Military personnel could have the opportunity to
conduct more missions and with better precision if they are not sleep deprived. Surgeons would be
able to perform surgeries more frequently and with greater accuracy. As a society, reducing sleep
dependence would push us toward accomplishing more and greater objectives that otherwise would be
impossible because of the amount of time we spend sleeping. Baylis and Robert also argue that
psychological and moral enhancements could be beneficial to our society. With genetic

The Native American Indian Movement
In today s day and age, equality, freedom, and rights for all are topics that are constantly being brought
up in politics and everyday life. However, these are not new ideas. In fact, throughout history, people
have been fighting for their freedom, equality, rights, and fighting against the degeneration their
cultures and beliefs. In the case of the Native Americans, they were abused and exploited for millennia
only to benefit people of higher power. Similar to other oppressed groups, there became a time when
the American Indians began to stand for who they are and commenced fighting for the demolition of
injustice. Because of the increasing need for a voice, members of the Native American communities
band together to create the American Indian Movement (AIM).
The initiation of AIM lead to a spur of American Indian non violent protests, which began the
fundamental transformation of society. The American Indian Movement was formally founded in July
1968. However the group existed unnamed for 500 years prior to the founding. In 1999, 30 years after
their creation, the group published a paper discussing the history of AIM and the methods behind their
cause. The movement was founded to turn the attention of Indian people toward a renewal of
spirituality which would impart the strength of resolve needed to reverse the ruinous policies of the
United States, Canada, and other colonialist governments of Central and South America. For the

Manufacturing Of Wooden Shoes And Aprons
Manufacturing Dutch wooden shoes and aprons
Stacie Hart
Trine University
Introduction
Mass manufacturing entails the production of products in large quantities and it s the advantages that
come with such kind of production that makes it attractive to many manufacturing companies
(Libralato et al., 2012). One of the advantages of mass production is that all equipment, material and
labor required are located under the same roof. Mass manufacturing is profound in various industries
including the automobile industry, textile industry, and telecommunication industry among others
(Qiao et al., 2006).
This essay will delve on mass manufacturing of Dutch wooden shoes and aprons including
presentation of budget estimates where applicable. An in depth analysis was conducted on existing
literature on the same in order to understand the traditional process of manufacturing these products
followed by an analysis of some recent literature explaining the modernized process of manufacturing
these products. In addition to that, the review of these literatures helped in understanding how the use
of these products has evolved over the years.
1st division: Wooden shoe manufacturing
The wooden Dutch clogs were water proof, which made them very useful while working in marshy
fields. Besides being used in fields while working, some of the wooden shoes were made to look
colorful so that they could be used to attend occasions and even go to church. With industrialization,

The Black Power Movement
Black Power was a call to action of black people to deny an established racist society, to acknowledge
their ancestors and history and to unite their black communities to gain the power to make a change.
The SNCC believed that in order to develop black power they needed to close their ranks and organize
themselves before reaching for something else. It encouraged people to take charge of their own lives
and organizations rather than relying on whites influence. Black Power was a build up of strength and
power in black communities to change previous white institutions and power structures that have been
established for hundreds of years. Blacks did not want black visibility but rather a chance to change
society for the better. The steps of black power were more radical than their predecessors. These
included a reshaping and redefining of the black community. SNCC and Carmichael believed in order
to rebuild the black community a sense of unity and togetherness needed to be created. Black Power
would make blacks acknowledge their past and their roots and develop a new consciousness that
would establish their role in their communities. Another step was political modernization in which
blacks questioned and challenged old values of the white power institution to incorporate their own
values. This political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

California Gold Rush Analysis
Many still tell the stories about the old west. These tales of the gold rush with gold nuggets the size of
boulders, visions of the railroad cutting across the continent with civilization nipping at it heels, epic
battles between settlers, soldiers, and Indians, or tales of cowboys, bandits and shootouts continue to
capture the imagination of the young and old alike. Most of these fantasies boast of the riches any man
could accrue, and of boundless opportunity for anyone willing to leave everything behind to seek their
destiny. Sadly many of these stories could not be further from the truth. The real story of the west is
one of misrepresentation, greed, exploitation, and racism. The Indian Wars provide some of the most

Much like in the mining regions of California Whites formed unions excluding minorities. Many
minorities were in fact highly superior to their White counterparts yet nearly always found themselves
working underneath these same Whites. Most capable minorities would never get the promotions they
deserved or the investment to form their own outfit (Hine). In the northern plains cattlemen would
trespass on Indian reservations, allowing their cattle to graze on Indian lands. When selling to Indians,
cattlemen would cheat them by tampering with scales, manipulating the books so it appeared that
Indians were getting their allotment, and selling the animal based on pre winter bulk weight and not
accounting for loss during the winter (Sanderson). As with most other things American, the cattle

The Impact Of The Lumiere Brothers
The Lumiere brothers debuted their first motion picture on their brand new invention, the
Cinematographe, in 1895. Since then, the movie industry has soared on to become one of the most
influential mediums of the 20th and 21st century. 100 years later, Sarah Moon s documentary Lumiere
and Company (1995) reflected on the impact of the Lumiere brothers first films using testimonies and
cinematic tributes from multiple international directors. Focusing on two Lumiere films; Workers
Leaving the Factory (1895), and Demolition of a Wall (1896), as well as two cinematic tributes from
two different directors; David Lynch, and Merzak Allouache, the everlasting impact of the Lumiere

While avant garde most easily comes to mind as following a cinema of attraction model, with its much
smaller focus on narrative, even Hollywood films apply this same sense of attraction with their use of
special effects, CGI, and other tools with what Gunning called a cinema of effects, (234). Demolition
of a Wall in many ways is one of the first elements of special effects, or an illusion of some sort, in
cinema. More importantly than the first special effects, this is arguably the first film to use in camera
editing. It stresses what is possible within the realm of cinema, the manipulation of time. Since this
film s release, both special effects and time manipulation in film has advanced considerably. In David
Lynch s tribute to the Lumiere brothers, there is another form of time manipulation at work in the form
of cuts to different scenes. Instead of reversing time, Lynch is jumping to different points in time, and
location, showcasing the true power of editing. While it is easy to point to figures like Eisenstein, and
D.W. Griffith for their impact on montage, and continuity editing, it would be foolish to leave out the
Lumiere s despite relying mostly on single shots. This ability to put fundamental rules of nature, like
time and space, in the hands

Regional Integration And International Business
There are many definitions that could pertain to what Regional Integration means depending on the
context, but generally it implies two things. First, integration can be the combination of parts into a
whole or in other words it could mean the completion of an object by combining parts together and
secondly region suggests an area having definable boundaries or characteristics. Having both regional
integration combined in the context of international business, implies the attempt to create free trade
between two of more nations, becoming a staple to harmonizing tariff rates, freedom of movement of
goods and services, persons and capital. The need for regional integration dates back all the way to
ancient civilizations from allowing for its economic prosperity, political influence, and recently for its
creation and maintaining peace amongst nations. With a law of this magnitude it is important for
business persons to be aware when conducting foreign business in an integrated region, because it is
the integration law that supersedes a countries law, an example could be Germany s law could be on a
lesser level then the law of the European Union. Now the magnitude of the integrated region can be
evaluated on the agreed upon level between countries, there are currently six progressive levels of
regional integration starting with Free Trade Area, and building upon the free trade area each level
adds additional laws that would help create a closer relationship between two nations

The Debate Of Banning The Death Penalty
Public Executions The United States has been going through the debate of banning the death penalty
for decades; however, it continues to remain at a standstill as crime rates continue to stay the same
throughout the country. The people for continuing the death penalty happens to see their group split in
to two groups. One for the private executions and the other for public. Public executions can do many
things like deter crimes from happening, giving the victims closure, and finding the right kind of
execution method that is inexpensive and once used throughout history. The ability to deter crimes
with the method of public execution is one we should not waste. It leaves everyone with the
knowledge that there is nothing to keep them from being the next one on the chopping block so to
speak, especially if they have committed such a crime to deserve the sentence. It takes removes this
mindset that the public has come to grasp that everything does not have a consequence for the actions
they take. The scare factor works brilliantly in this regard, holding the public to a line they know not
to cross. With the line drawn, the number of convicts in the prison system would decrease. This will
also free up taxpayers money for other things like education, medical, security, and paying off the
national debt. Secondly, this would bring closer to the families, as well as, friends and acquaintances
of the victim. This type of execution would give everyone the benefit of seeing

William Wordsworth s Poem Of The Bird And Its Song With...
William Wordsworth, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and John Clare were influential romantic poets who
sought to learn about themselves and their art by immersing themselves as nature and utilizing
different animals as their muses. These three poets each observed skylarks in their natural habitat and
sought to decipher the meaning behind their songs. From these experiences, each wrote a poem which
described their perspectives. Wordsworth, Shelly, and Clare s Skylark poems are arguably written in
dialogue with each other. While Wordsworth and Shelly look upon the bird and its song with
adoration, both seeking to learn from the animal, Clare possesses a much darker conception of the
skylark s song, and instead attempts to reprimand and teach the bird. Their observations and the
opinions of the lark are dictated by the season in which they find themselves listening to the bird s
song. Wordsworth and Shelly are envious of the Skylark s freedom to travel wherever it may please,
which partially dictates their infatuation with the creature. Wordsworth declares to the Skylark:
Though hast a nest, for thy love and thy rest: And, though little troubled with sloth, Drunken Lark!
thou would st be loth To be such a Traveller as I. Happy, happy Liver! (ll. 18 22)
When examining the bird in its natural habitat, Wordsworth acknowledges that it has a home for a
family and for relaxation, and yet can still fly whenever and wherever it may please. While he lives

Benefits Of The GI Bill
GI Bill: The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944
In World War I, the servicemen had postponed benefits that were promised to them. This caused
political turmoil and the response was the Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944, which is also known
as the GI Bill. This bill provided a range of benefits for the returning World War II veterans. The GI
Bill made a step in the right direction to ensure rightful benefits to the veterans, but did have faults.
The American Legion played an important role in the enactment of the bill. The GI Bill did not
advocate discrimination, but had been interpreted differently for African Americans. The bill also did
not include Merchant Marines, which were carriers and ships that delivered war supplies to the
soldiers. Over the years, adjustments to the GI Bill were made.
The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944 was enacted after the soldiers of World War I had come
back from the war and had troubles making ends meet. The soldiers had help from government
benefits, but the benefits were not enough to help soldiers transitioning back to the work force.
Congress had stepped in and made the Act of 1924. This Act promised a bonus that was based on the
number of days that were served in the military. However, this bonus was not put into action until 20
years later, which was too late for struggling soldiers. A group of veterans called the Bonus Marchers
was composed up of 17,000 United States World War I veterans, veterans families, and other groups
that were affiliated with them. The Bonus Marchers marched to the Capitol in Washington, D.C. and
demanded the bonus that they were promised. The government did not convey and ended up sending
out U.S. troops against the WWI veterans under President Hoover s demands. This movement, putting
veterans against soldiers, was a turning point in veterans rights.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was determined to right the wrong that was done to the veterans. On
June 22, 1944, the GI Bill was signed into law. February 17, 1944 marks the date that the American
Legion began their daily meetings on how to get the GI Bill of Rights passed. Other veteran affiliated
organizations that played a role in the creation of the

Treatment Of Women And Community Members Essay
The Treatment of Women and LGBT+ Community Members Women and the LGBT+ community
members are continuing to feel uncomfortable and not valued in this chosen occupation, as they
continue to be challenged in unfair ways and are judged for more than being different. For this reason,
RCMP officers are denied the chance to advance their careers, or take on a more superior/leadership
role; bringing us right back to the glass ceiling effect. Not all places have women in non superior
roles; there are many places where they precede the men. This is why liberal feminism allows and
encourages individuals to use their own abilities, and the democratic process to help women and men
become more equal, including equal treatment and rights; not only in the eyes of the law (RCMP), but
in society, the home and the workplace.
To demonstrate, I had the privilege of going to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police depot back in
2015; this is where the cadets do their training because I had a male family member graduate,
officially becoming an RCMP officer. I had the chance to view the facility and almost everything it
entails, I saw the different cadets there, women and men, and this is where I noticed how in each troop
there were more men than women in every troop I passed. This being said, I interviewed my family
member, asking about gender equality and women s rights within the RCMP and whether or not it was
prevalent during his stay at depot. He mentioned how there was fair treatment between

  • 2. Data Center Assurance Program Project Process Analysis Cisco Systems went ahead with modified version of waterfall model for Data Center Assurance Program (DCAP) project. Though waterfall model is old and have less success rate, it suited DCAP project quite well. As the goals and scope of the project is fixed throughout the project and release cycles are about 6 8 months it is easy to use waterfall model. Partial overlap between various phases existed. This allowed for parallel execution of few tasks and helped in effective resource utilization and on time project delivery. All the engineers are involved in all the stages of the project. Also there any enough resources to replace the ones who left the project. Standard disaster recovery practices of a real time production data center are not fallowed, but those required for the project to replicate the real time scenario are used. For instance, to make sure the real time environment like distance between two data centers, wan emulators are used. Effectiveness of Initial Planning The detailed analysis of requirements and studying the real time scenario by visiting customer s location proved to be good in refining project goals. No all the project members are given opportunity to study customer s environment which is practiced due to budget issues. The decision to fallow modified version of water fall model fitted the project quite well. But the overlapping of the phases is not quite long and proved deficient. This resulted in ineffective resource utilization. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about Night by Elie Wiesel and The Hiding Place by... The chaos and destruction that the Nazi s are causing are not changing the lives of only Jews, but also the lives of citizens in other countries. Between Night by Elie Wiesel and The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, comradeship, faith, strength, and people of visions are crucial to the survival of principle characters. Ironically, in both stories there is a foreseen future, that both seemed to be ignored. Before the Great War begins affecting the Wiesel s and ten Boom s lives, both families experience a premonition of a dark future ahead of them. Ironically, neither family chooses to listen to these signs. In the novel Night, there are two events of visions. One is a character named Moshe the Beadle. He is a premonition for the town of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I see a fire! I see a fire! (Wiesel 24). Everyone in the cart began to panic and look out to window; however, there was nothing but the darkness of the night sky. Madame Schachters episodes kept going on throughout the night until others had to beat her in order for her to be quiet. The train arrived at Auschwitz, and as Madame Schachter began to scream again, the train stopped, this time we saw flames rising from a tall chimney into a black sky (28). Whether Madame Schachter was actually seeing the flames or they were just visions in her mind, she was a warning to the others to be afraid of the fire. In the novel, The Hiding Place, Corrie s only brother Willem writes a doctoral thesis of a terrible evil that is taking place in Germany. He wrote this paper at the university he was attending. Willem spoke of a hatred for human life that the world has never seen before, He said, seeds were being planted of a contempt for human life such as the world had never seen (ten Boom 29). There is no explanation as to why these warnings were ignored. Survivors today beat themselves up psychologically asking, why? Why did I not listen? Why were we all so oblivious to all of the rumors? Throughout experiences in both of the novels, it is clear that having friends and connections in the camps and prisons is crucial for survival and communication. In the beginning of ... • 4. Heroics of Women in Ibsens A Dolls House Essay Heroics of Women in Ibsens A Dolls House The Heroics of Women Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House is a play about a young wife and her husband. Nora and Helmer seem to be madly in love with one another and very happy with their lives together. Yet the conflict comes into this show when Nora brags to her friend Ms. Linde about how she had forged her father s name to borrow money to save her husband s life and how she had been secretly paying off this debt. Helmer finds out about this crime and is furious, until he finds that no one will ever know about it. This entire conflict is written to bring to light the ridiculous social expectations demanded of both women and men. Ibsen expertly leads the audience into accepting that these ... (Ibsen 1570) Helmer is a certainly a man that lives up to what is expected of him, inside and outside the home. Nora, as a woman, also has many expectations she must try to live up to. By natural design, women are not good with money, with planning, or with complicated thinking. They are certainly the underclass of the sexes. This condition was caused by the fact that women were forced to mold themselves into a model themselves that men deem desirable and best. The wants and desires of women were put aside so that they may better perform the role of pleasing the men in their lives. They were there to support their husbands and help carry on the tasks of keeping the house in order, or they re to care for their fathers and clean his house of generally care for him. This entire social condition became an inescapable cycle, since men chose what men should and would be like and they chose as suits them. A woman did not have the opportunity to go out and find herself or to further her own talents and abilities. They were instead molded into a shape that would further enhance the men s talents and abilities. Yet even though the weakest characteristics were attributed to women, great responsibility was put on them as regarding the raising of their children. It was commonly assumed that ... There are two different extreme types of systems of government that use propaganda, totalitarian and democracy. In a totalitarian government, this government has power over every aspect of personal and private life. It is an extremely controlling and dictatorial type of government. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the democracy government where the people get to vote for the party they want to rule. This type of government is open and extremely permissive and allows freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The Nazi party in Germany was a prime example of a totalitarian government and used propaganda during World War II. The leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler, saw propaganda as a vehicle of political salesmanship in a mass market. Hitler really admired American propaganda. He admired it so much, he appointed Nazi Joseph Goebbels as Germany s minister of propaganda. Goebbels used art propaganda to glorify the state and attack those who were considered an enemy. In 1933 when the Nazi party assumed power, propaganda was used it to show that it is a positive form of government and take control over the public opinion ( Propaganda ). The United States is a democracy government that has the most effective and powerful propaganda in the world. The United States figured out that people respond the best to emotional appeals. This was the birth of American propaganda in the advertising industry. Fear, hatred, lust, greed and envy are good tools for propaganda, but fear is the most motivating. In the United States, the top ways that industries used propaganda to make more sales was to advertising sexiness, pride of ownership, and fear of falling behind your neighbors ( Pure ). This news from Jane on his death gave him an idea that would put a smile on his face. The intricacies of the universe made it difficult for Ender to reach his primary goal of finding a place for the Hive Queen. Ender thought that Lusitania was the right place. The only problem was that lusitania was already inhabited by the piggies. The starways congress did not allow the humans to share information with the piggies but this is disobeyed on many occasions. In doing this, the piggies not only learn from Ender, but Ender learns from the piggies. Before Ender, the culture and habits of the piggies were unknown. Through compassion ... He was a strong man. He didn t want power. He wanted love. Not control. Loyalty. (Card 261). Ender knew that this is not what everyone wanted to hear but it was the truth and this helped the family come to terms with their father. When Marcao beat Novinha, she believed she deserved it. The more Ender kept speaking the more the family began to forgive him. Then Ender hit them with the big news about Libo being the father of Novinhas kids and all hell broke loose. He talked about the agreement she made with Libo and Marcao. Then the question arose, why would Marcao agree to this? Then Ender gave us with this hard hitting response. Most of all, though, he married her because he loved her. He never really hoped that she would love him the way he loved her, because he worshipped her, she was goddess, and he knew that he was diseased, filthy, an animal to be despised. He knew she could not worship him, or even love him. He hoped that someday she might feel some affection. That she might feel some loyalty. (Card 268). Novinha knew this to be true and her children began to feel empathetic. Her children began to understand. The scene concludes with the most powerful line in the book. The words left ashes in their hearts. (Card 270). Not only did Ender s words affect the family, but they affected the community as well. Ender made an impact on the family and the community alike. • 7. Market Structure Of An Economics Perspective Essay Introduction Market structure from an economics perspective is defined as the characteristics of the market that impacts the behavior or way firms operate, which economists use to determine the nature of competition, and pricing tactics of businesses in the market. Within a market, the market structures are distinguished by key features, including the number of sellers, homogeneous or differentiated goods or services produced, pricing power, level of competition, barriers to entering or exit the markets, efficiency, and profits. The interaction and differences among these features resulted in four market structures of competition: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Economist assembled the four market structures into two groups; perfectly competitive market and imperfectly competitive market, which are vastly distinct when it come to the different market competitions that need to be satisfied. A major issue for existing firms in some market structures is the entry of new competitors, and this is because of the potentially unfavorable effects new participants might have on the market s real revenue and profits. Entry barriers are specifically designed to prevent new competitors from entering a profitable market freely. Based on the level of barriers, it can be relatively easy or difficult for new firms to enter the market. Therefore, high entry barriers may have a positive or negative influence a firm s long run profitability, cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within a short time span, they can spread from small area by overtaking large forest area. The seeds of the garlic mustard remain in the soil for five or more years. The plant identification phase is formed by the leaves being alternative, being triangular to heart shaped, or being scalloped edged and also giving off an odor of garlic when crushed. This odor can be used for distinguishing between garlic mustard from native plants such as evergreen violets, piggy back plant and fringecup plants as well. It will also help to distinguish non native plants such as the silver dollar plant. Garlic mustard has two growing seasons. The first growing season is in early March and then the second growing season occurs in April. The second growing season includes plants that have flower stalks that range from 12 to 48 inches tall. It is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning. Duvall and Hays explains in their book how the Bible is everything . Therefore, without understanding the context, there is no meaning because each story/literature in the Bible has its own specific rules that we all need to understand. Without understanding the exact meanings, we risk misinterpreting the word and spreading false scripture. 2. • 10. The Raft Of Flowers By Robert Frost In his poem The Tuft of Flowers, Robert Frost tells the story of a lonely man who is turning grass in a field after a mower has cut it down. Though the man at first believes he is completely alone and that all other people are too, he later reevaluates that position, concluding the opposite that connections exist between everyone and everything and that nobody is ever alone. Frost argues that one is never truly alone as all people are connected to each other. Initially, the speaker in the poem feels lonely and unconnected to the world around him, I must be, as he had been, alone, (ln 8). Frost s use of punctuation is especially interesting in this phrase as he uses a comma immediately before an em dash, enormously exaggerating the pause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Frost s use of personification in this line is overwhelming, calling attention to the speaker s newly awakened sense of closeness with other people. The speaker, overjoyed to see the tuft of flowers amidst the destruction of the rest of the field, realizes that the mower must have also seen the beauty of the flowers, noting, The mower in the dew had loved them thus,/By leaving them to flourish, not for us (ln 27 28). The speaker understands that the mower had left the flowers for purely selfish reasons, but at the same time, he feels connected to the mower on the basis that they had both recognized and admired the beauty of the flowers. This revelation leads him to conclude that people are connected to each other in both obvious and subtle ways, calling the mower a spirit kindred to my own (ln. 35). Interestingly, lines 9 and 10 are juxtaposed with the last two lines of the poem: Men work together, I told him from the heart,/ Whether they work together or apart (ln 41 42). Not only does the speaker contradict his earlier statement, but Frost also mirrors the wording, the two sentences appearing nearly identical, in order to create a visual representation of the meaning of his words: people are more alike than they are different and therefore bonds exist between all people. Frost also structures the poem in such a way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Reflective Essay On Student Behavior Initial thoughts: Ms. Rollison needs to understand that students behave differently which will require a different way to approach their behavior. In most cases, when a student is acting out it is due to something stressful they are experiencing. A young student does not communicate their wants and needs well, this causes them to express their emotion is not the best manner. When children need are not met they will misbehave more frequently. Therefore, Ms. Rollison will need to understand and have patience with the student because there is always a reason behind why the student is misbehaving. Final thoughts: Students behavior can be influenced by many things such as their cultural influences, living situation, and what they are exposed to. Ms. Rollison needs to be aware of the cultural influence that affects the student s behavior. Every culture is different and it influences how a student will interact and respond to authority. Culture can influence the way they talk with their peers, views on sharing, and the way they act all around. Having many students with different culture background leads to a diverse class with different views on how they act toward their peers. Ms. Rollison needs to approach the classroom with an open mind and interact with the kids and learn their behaviors. Moreover, she needs to learn what impact their behavior and understand that not everybody views the world the same because outside factors play a role in the student s behavior. Something that Ms. Rollison views as being impolite or rude, might be seen as something suitable in her student s culture. Understanding other students culture is extremely important because when she creates her classroom management plan, she will know what will be appropriate for her students. Question 2: What can Ms. Rollison do to increase the chances that her students will behave appropriately in class? Initial thoughts: There is many technique Ms. Rollison can use to help with her students behaving appropriately in the classroom. One technique she could use is at the beginning of the year ask the students what type of rule they would like to have in the classroom. The student will more likely obey the class rules because they had a part in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Business Valuation Is The Process Of Estimating What... MINI RESEARCH PROJECT CONTENTS Business Valuation: In finance, valuation is the process of estimating what something is worth. Items that are usually valued are a financial asset or liability. • 13. The Differences Between The And Of The Christian Realist... The different Christian views struggle with the brokenness of human nature. The difference in views lies in how this brokenness is interpreted. How does one balance the human being who is born in the image and likeness of God, yet, has fallen from grace? The two distinct views will revolve around seeking answers to this question, and what is the best way to act on these answers in dealing with the broken human. It becomes a question of mercy and grace in this world versus a constant searching by the human, which only ends in the presence of God. The latter reflects the view of the Christian Realist. The philosopher and father of the Christian Realist position, Reinhold Niebuhr, argues that Augustine s City of God lays the foundation for the Christian realist thought. It is in this work that Augustine presents a realistic view of humankind that was in contrast with the classical view of the human being. The latter s view idealized human s unlimited potential because of their ability to reason. Niebuhr argues that this difference in the viewpoints of Augustine and the classical philosophers lies in Augustine s biblical, rather than rationalistic, conception of human selfhood with the ancillary conception of the seat of evil being in the self (Niebuhr, Christian Realism and Political Problems 123 124). It is from this concept that Niebuhr argues that human nature is evil as a result of sin. This sinful nature of the human has forever shaped his movements. It drives his ... From youth inspired My Generation to the ever popular and movie producing, Tommy, audiences have been singing their songs with quiet determination and revelry. This band did not stick to one style, as they grew older, their music evolved. At the age of 70, both Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry are still rocking out to thousands. Though the band went through break ups and loss of members, they will always be known as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. In 1967 Pete became a follower of the Indian avatar Meher Baba which inspired him to write the song, Bargain. Although released on the album, Who s Next, was not even considered at top 20. The hits off of the album included songs like Baba O Riley and See Me, Feel Me which were all written with a basic message about enlightenment. However, in the life of a human being this routine that goes on for years is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach about subjects that you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on knowledge to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will determine their future. Is everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings of a total stranger? Of course not, therefore this total stranger has to have an identification to the students, but not necessarily just a name. Teachers must develop a relationship with their students because teacher student relationships affect a student s academic excellence. As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do everything, but be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards learning? This resistance to education is a nature acquired from the famous phrase that school is boring or school is hard and those rebellious students disengage themselves from the class and teacher. Married women had financial security. Married women had an estate (with their husband) where they could host guests. Married women had children, and could fulfill the role of motherhood. Unmarried women did not have any of this, so from a young age girls learned how to become suitable wives. A suitable wife needed to know how to cook, clean house, sing, dance, play an instrument, become a hostess, and care for children. Once married, the role of a woman became caring for the household, no matter what her marriage looked like or why she married. In Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen shows her reader the importance of marriage through couples who married for varying reasons. A woman might marry due to a sense of duty. Austen shows the reader this through her character Charlotte. Mr. Collins proposes to Charlotte Lucas soon after his offer Elizabeth rejects his offer. • 17. The Picture Of Dorian Gray And Atlas Shrugged By Ayn Rand It is a very well known trope of literature to pin characters against society or social expectations. Nearly every piece of literature has some character who is displeased with how everybody else does something, it does not make any difference what the thing is. Following this near necessary pattern, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand have vital characters who act differently than society hopes and expects. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dorian Gray and Lord Henry Wotton are the main characters who represent the struggle of the individual versus society, each in their own way. Lord Henry s philosophy is very self centered, with his own pleasures being central to all aspects of his life. This belief system rubs off on Dorian early in the novel and as it progresses, Dorian seems to care less and less about how society perceives him. He hides his true self away from society and throws common practice, even laws, out the window. Dorian becomes a being who lives only to please himself through whatever means. Atlas Shrugged has some self centered characters of its own, stemming from Ayn Rand s philosophy of objectivism and her belief that self preservation and self interest are the truest goals in life. Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden represent this belief Rand holds so dear. On the other hand, Jim Taggart is shown as weak and nearly pathetic due to his need to please everyone and fear of blame. • 33. Regional Integration And International Business There are many definitions that could pertain to what Regional Integration means depending on the context, but generally it implies two things. First, integration can be the combination of parts into a whole or in other words it could mean the completion of an object by combining parts together and secondly region suggests an area having definable boundaries or characteristics. Having both regional integration combined in the context of international business, implies the attempt to create free trade between two of more nations, becoming a staple to harmonizing tariff rates, freedom of movement of goods and services, persons and capital. The need for regional integration dates back all the way to ancient civilizations from allowing for its economic prosperity, political influence, and recently for its creation and maintaining peace amongst nations. With a law of this magnitude it is important for business persons to be aware when conducting foreign business in an integrated region, because it is the integration law that supersedes a countries law, an example could be Germany s law could be on a lesser level then the law of the European Union. Now the magnitude of the integrated region can be evaluated on the agreed upon level between countries, there are currently six progressive levels of regional integration starting with Free Trade Area, and building upon the free trade area each level adds additional laws that would help create a closer relationship between two nations ... • 34. The Debate Of Banning The Death Penalty Public Executions The United States has been going through the debate of banning the death penalty for decades; however, it continues to remain at a standstill as crime rates continue to stay the same throughout the country. The people for continuing the death penalty happens to see their group split in to two groups. One for the private executions and the other for public. Public executions can do many things like deter crimes from happening, giving the victims closure, and finding the right kind of execution method that is inexpensive and once used throughout history. The ability to deter crimes with the method of public execution is one we should not waste. It leaves everyone with the knowledge that there is nothing to keep them from being the next one on the chopping block so to speak, especially if they have committed such a crime to deserve the sentence. It takes removes this mindset that the public has come to grasp that everything does not have a consequence for the actions they take. The scare factor works brilliantly in this regard, holding the public to a line they know not to cross. With the line drawn, the number of convicts in the prison system would decrease. This will also free up taxpayers money for other things like education, medical, security, and paying off the national debt. Secondly, this would bring closer to the families, as well as, friends and acquaintances of the victim. This type of execution would give everyone the benefit of seeing ... • 35. William Wordsworth s Poem Of The Bird And Its Song With... William Wordsworth, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and John Clare were influential romantic poets who sought to learn about themselves and their art by immersing themselves as nature and utilizing different animals as their muses. These three poets each observed skylarks in their natural habitat and sought to decipher the meaning behind their songs. From these experiences, each wrote a poem which described their perspectives. Wordsworth, Shelly, and Clare s Skylark poems are arguably written in dialogue with each other. While Wordsworth and Shelly look upon the bird and its song with adoration, both seeking to learn from the animal, Clare possesses a much darker conception of the skylark s song, and instead attempts to reprimand and teach the bird. Their observations and the opinions of the lark are dictated by the season in which they find themselves listening to the bird s song. Wordsworth and Shelly are envious of the Skylark s freedom to travel wherever it may please, which partially dictates their infatuation with the creature. Wordsworth declares to the Skylark: Though hast a nest, for thy love and thy rest: And, though little troubled with sloth, Drunken Lark! thou would st be loth To be such a Traveller as I. Happy, happy Liver! (ll. 18 22) When examining the bird in its natural habitat, Wordsworth acknowledges that it has a home for a family and for relaxation, and yet can still fly whenever and wherever it may please. • 36. Benefits Of The GI Bill GI Bill: The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944 In World War I, the servicemen had postponed benefits that were promised to them. This caused political turmoil and the response was the Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944, which is also known as the GI Bill. This bill provided a range of benefits for the returning World War II veterans. The GI Bill made a step in the right direction to ensure rightful benefits to the veterans, but did have faults. The American Legion played an important role in the enactment of the bill. The GI Bill did not advocate discrimination, but had been interpreted differently for African Americans. The bill also did not include Merchant Marines, which were carriers and ships that delivered war supplies to the soldiers. Over the years, adjustments to the GI Bill were made. The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944 was enacted after the soldiers of World War I had come back from the war and had troubles making ends meet. The soldiers had help from government benefits, but the benefits were not enough to help soldiers transitioning back to the work force. Congress had stepped in and made the Act of 1924. This Act promised a bonus that was based on the number of days that were served in the military. However, this bonus was not put into action until 20 years later, which was too late for struggling soldiers. A group of veterans called the Bonus Marchers was composed up of 17,000 United States World War I veterans, veterans families, and other groups that were affiliated with them. The Bonus Marchers marched to the Capitol in Washington, D.C. and demanded the bonus that they were promised. The government did not convey and ended up sending out U.S. troops against the WWI veterans under President Hoover s demands. This movement, putting veterans against soldiers, was a turning point in veterans rights. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was determined to right the wrong that was done to the veterans. On June 22, 1944, the GI Bill was signed into law. February 17, 1944 marks the date that the American Legion began their daily meetings on how to get the GI Bill of Rights passed. • 38. Treatment Of Women And Community Members Essay The Treatment of Women and LGBT+ Community Members Women and the LGBT+ community members are continuing to feel uncomfortable and not valued in this chosen occupation, as they continue to be challenged in unfair ways and are judged for more than being different. For this reason, RCMP officers are denied the chance to advance their careers, or take on a more superior/leadership role; bringing us right back to the glass ceiling effect. Not all places have women in non superior roles; there are many places where they precede the men. This is why liberal feminism allows and encourages individuals to use their own abilities, and the democratic process to help women and men become more equal, including equal treatment and rights; not only in the eyes of the law (RCMP), but in society, the home and the workplace. To demonstrate, I had the privilege of going to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police depot back in 2015; this is where the cadets do their training because I had a male family member graduate, officially becoming an RCMP officer. I had the chance to view the facility and almost everything it entails, I saw the different cadets there, women and men, and this is where I noticed how in each troop there were more men than women in every troop I passed. This being said, I interviewed my family member, asking about gender equality and women s rights within the RCMP and whether or not it was prevalent during his stay at depot. He mentioned how there was fair treatment between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
