Cricopharyngeal Spasm Causes
What is a Cricopharyngeal Spasm and What Are Its Causes? Overview The cricopharyngeus
muscle is a circular muscle that sits around the top of the food pipe, the tube that passes food from
the mouth into the stomach. The muscle is responsible for opening and closing the food pipe. A
Cricopharyngeal spasm occurs when the cricopharyngeus muscle gets overly contracted. The
condition is usually harmless, apart from the nuisance and discomfort it causes. The most common
symptom of the condition is that the affected individual feels a perpetual lump in the throat, which

Vacuum trucks are an extremely useful and valuable commercial vehicle, taking on the task of
helping everyone live comfortably in clean, waste free surroundings. Certainly, at some point in
time, people need the services of this truck, whether it is a county that wants to clean up a clogged

When considering using one of these vehicles, it is important to look at the manufacturers. Just as
with personal cars, a good name brand means quality parts, good lifespan of equipment, available
service, etc. There are actually quite a few manufacturers of these vehicles and you would want to
review the service record of each manufacturer to determine which one would best suit your
business needs.
В· Overall capacity The two different areas that need to be considered for capacity are the axles
carrying weight capacity and the vehicle s tank capacity. The tank capacity is an important thing to
consider and will vary depending upon what services or job it is designed to handle.
В· Numbers of axles Vacuum trucks have different numbers of axles that are dependent upon the
size of the tank being carried as well as the specific material that will be contained in the tank. The
answer to those questions will determine if an extra number of axles will be needed to provide
more strength particularly when used for industrial

Oryx and Crake Essay
December 12, 2013 The Importance of Childhood in Oryx And Crake In Atwood s novel Oryx
and Crake we see the cause and effect of how our childhood and how we are raised has a large
correlation to what type of adult we become. Through the character of Jimmy and later his new
persona Snowman, the reader is shown the detrimental effects of an abandoned childhood. Not
only do Jimmy s poor choices in his adult life have a clear link to his neglected and unguided
childhood they also create an adult that is emotionally damaged and unable to see the right path in
his life even when he wants to. Atwood s similarities between Jimmy and Snowman and their
relationship in his childhood through to adulthood clearly exemplify the cause and... Show more

Having never experienced a positive way to express his feeling in his childhood it caused him to
be so cold and empty in side. He was as inhuman and void of emotions as his small childhood pet.
Once the world s inhabitants are wiped out, Snowman is left with the task of taking care of the
Crakers. Whether it is the fact that Snowman wants to be the parent he never had, or if he just
simply doesn t want to lose his only somewhat human interactions, it is evident that he cares about
these creatures. In the time of crisis he exhibits a compassionate reasonability toward the Crakers
because it is his duty to look after the new race of humans. Perhaps the only positive by product of
his dysfunctional childhood is that he knows what it is like to be deserted and left uncared for so
he strives now in his adulthood as Snowman to protect the Crakers as best he can. Even though
Crakers original vision for these creature was to make them Godless and without art, Snowman
taught them things in there childhood that contradicted there original thoughts. Snowman teaches
them about the world and tries to make them understand their surroundings better, even though his
explanations make him feel isolated and alone; reminding him of the sad childhood that he had. He
gives them something to believe in and he teaches them right from wrong. He becomes the parent
that he wishes he had had.Atwood seems to marvel or poke fun at what our youth can

John Wilkes Booth s Motives
A Look Inside the Motives of John Wilkes Booth On the fateful night of April 14, 1865,
President Abraham Lincoln attended a special performance of the comedy, Our American
Cousin, accompanied by his wife, Mary Todd, Major Henry Rathbone, and Rathbone s fiancee,
Clara Harris. Little did he know that a figure, armed with a drawn pistol, would step into his
presidential box and fatally wound him to appease the appetite for vengeance shared by many
Confederate sympathizers. Yelling Sic semper tyrannis, the figure scrambled to safety in the dark
of the night after tasting the short lived sweet taste of revenge, while his accomplice ran for his
life after a failed assassination attempt of Secretary William Seward. This assassin had embarked on

The Pros And Cons Of North Stradbroke Island
North Stradbroke Island (NSI), also known as Minjerribah to its indigenous people, the
Quandamooka people, is the second largest island in the world, covering an area of 275.2 km2.
The island has a wide range of ecosystems including open beaches, frontal dunes, rocky
headlands, mangroves, and tidal swamps (Stradbrokeisland.com, 2018). On the island, the sand
mining company, Sibelco, are to close their operation on NSI in 1919. This decision has been
made through the exploration of advantages and disadvantages of undertaking sand mining on
NSI, as well as alternative sources of economic income and planning replacement employment.
When making the decision to close Sibelco s sand mining on the island, it was important to
remain mindful to the natives of the island and their ideals, traditions and sacred land. In
considering all of these factors, it is most ideal for Sibelco s sand mining operations on NSI to close.

Astrolabes During The Age Of Exploration
During the age of exploration there were many highly important inventions being made and also
being used. One of the inventions from this time period is the astrolabe. The astrolabe is an ancient
astronomical computer that was used mainly by navigators to solve problems in relation to not only
time, but also problems relating to the position of the sunand the stars ( Morrison ). Astrolabes were
historically used by astronomers, astrologers, and navigators. Astrolabes had many amazing uses
like finding the time of day or time of night, finding the time of a celestial event like a sunrise or
a sunset and could also be used as a reference of celestial positions and many more ( Morrison ).

During this time period many things were invented like the astrolabe, sextant, and caravel. The
caravel was invented by the portuguese, was much less heavy so it could travel up rivers, was
quicker for the longer journeys, and had a triangular sail instead of a rectangular sail. The
astrolabe was an instrument that, in its earlier time, was used for astronomy and astrology but
ended up mainly being used as a tool of navigation and to solve problems involving trigonometry,
problems relating to time, and the position of the sun and stars. The astrolabe was invented by
Hipparchus who lived from 190 BC 120 BC and also made major contributions to trigonometry.
Trigonometry is a type of math that involves the relations between a triangle s angles and sides.
The sextant, which superseded the astrolabe, is a tool that measures the angle between two objects
in order to find a person s location in the world. As you can see each invention during this very
important time period is very important and each made their own major contribution to the world

Unit 3: Comparison Essay Throne of Blood is a film directed by Akira Kurosawa which is based on
William Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of Macbeth Macbeth. While Macbeth takes place in
Scotland, Throne of Blood is set in Japan. Macbeth is a tragic play that is mainly revolving around
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. The play and film are two productions that are very similar but differ
in the aspects of the plot events.
Macbeth and his friend Banquo wandered into talking to three witches. The three witches tell
Macbeth he s going to be king, but they also tell Banquo that his children will be in the royalty
line. Macbeth takes interest in the possibility of being a king, but he doesn t pursue with any

considering the fact that he just sent murderers to the Macduff house. There was even a point in
the play where Banquo, who was Macbeth s friend, questioned how far macbeth would pursue

A community credit union is a financial cooperative operating to lend money to its members.
The constituents of a mutual organization put money into a collective, where it may then be
disbursed to members in need of loans, at agreeable rates and with good terms. By eliminating
the need to turn a profit, mutual organizations are able to give lower rates on loans than
traditional banking organizations. The sub prime lenders are considered, in some instances, as a
last resort since they tend to give loans to people with a very low credit scores or an otherwise
extremely high risk of default. This type of lender offers loans at exorbitant interest rates as a way
of covering losses from the high default rate they experience with their borrowers. Fannie Mae
does not hold onto all of the purchased mortgages. It will take the individual loans and package
them up with hundreds of others and market them as mortgage backed securities (MBS) that it then
sells to investors (for example, insurance companies, pension funds). Fannie Mae provides a
guarantee to these investors that they will receive timely principal and interest payments, no matter
what happens with the underlying mortgages. If there are large numbers of defaults, Fannie Mae

The Maribyrnong River Bank
There are places in the west that we pass daily which seem forever destined to remain a mystery
or curiosity like the cluttered yellow barbershop on Williamstown road, the Museum of Printing
on Geelong Road, or even the old Greek op shop in Spotswood but Footscray s Heavenly Queen
Temple need not be a mystery any longer.
Most recognisable for its 50 foot gold statue overlooking the Maribyrnong River which is visible
from trains on the Sydenham line, The Westsider recently visited for the birthday celebrations of
the royal deity herself, and was given the grand tour (and a tasty pork bun) by Society President Mr
William Tsang.
The Maribyrnong River bank began its transformation into Australia s largest Chinese temple with
the acquisition of the unused land wedged between the river and the railway line previously
designated a 100 year flood area, meaning no building could be undertaken for fear of potential
flood damage. With the land raising project complete, the foundations were in place for the current
temple and grand entrance gate, with the complex awaiting completion of left and right wing
buildings, plus an additional temple at the rear over the coming years.
To its worshippers, the temple is a celebration of the goddess Mazu the protector of sea travellers
but it also stands as a testament to the resilience of the Chinese people who journeyed to Footscray
and surrounds via troubled Vietnam in the 1970s and 80s. It is also home to four other deities

Owens is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys
herself believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused
that caused her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned

to come to piece with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how
Mary comes to piece when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own
trials and hardships but we also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh
Garrels sings the song, Farther Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a
somber tone to the song. I wondered why the good mandies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries
because he loves em both . This phrase tells me how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying
because a good man died, or because one of his children has fallen far off track, but he is crying
for them both. He loves them both. There s much more to life than we ve been told it s full of

The Pros And Cons Of Fracking
Another reason why the United States must make fracking illegal is because it can have a negative
effect on water sources. During fracking, the fluid, which consists of over 596 toxic chemicals, is
pumped into the ground, soon after, once all of the gas is extracted from the operation, some of that
fluid stays deep underground, and becomes increasingly toxic as it comes picks up radioactivity, or
other underground contaminants (White). These fluids can sink into aquifers and turn water into a
noxious mix, even the water that comes back up is almost untreatable after coming in contact with
these chemicals (Griswold). Although the dangers are well known, it is no surprise that water
sources have already been contaminated due to inattentiveness.... Show more content on

Even if animals may not be seen as significant as humans, America still needs to acknowledge that
any level of toxicity in water should not be tolerated, it is too dangerous. Fracking must also be
banned as a result of its damaging effects on the ocean. In the beginning the government officials
who were supposed to protect and inform people didn t even notify the public about this method of
fracking, or review environmental risks (Monsell). Offshore fracking is very much like regular
fracking on land, they shoot toxic chemicals into the ground however, this time it is to break the
rocks under the ocean floor (Monsell). The oceans environment is constantly fluctuating, which
makes the practice of offshore fracking a great threat to the environment (Monsell). Every time they
use fracking in the ocean there is the possibility that chemical pollutants can seep out, or another
major oil spill can occur (Monsell). Alarmingly, offshore fracking is hardly regulated, the Bureau of
Safety and Environmental Enforcement, even admitted that they haven t been paying much
attention to fracking operations on the Gulf of Mexico

Normative Theories Of Ethics And Its Principles
Normative theories of ethics
The area of philosophy which is concerned with systematizing, defending and recommendation the
concepts of right and wrong is briefly defined as ethics. Thus, ethics can be consider as a set of
moral rules practiced by a group of people or community. The origin of word Ethics is greece,
derived from the word ethikos , meaning habit. The theories of ethics and its principles are the
standing pillars of ethical analysis. These ethical theories are always aimed towards a common
set of goals. Such set of goals are the basic principles of ethics. In 1979, in the United States, the
Belmont Report: Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of

ii) Beneficence which has its two set of rules do not harm and maximize possible benefits and

The Grandidier s Mongooses
The Fossa is the largest carnivore and top predator native to Madagascar. Fossas feed on lemurs
and almost any other creature it can find. These creatures have a similar appearances and
behaviors as animals in the feline family. Fossas have retractable claws and catlike teeth to help
it capture its food when stalking in the trees or on the ground, weather it be day or night. The
Fossas ancestor, the original ancestor of the Eupleridae family, is unknown. But through its
ancestors, the Fossa is related to Mongooses. Grandidier s Mongooses Also known as the Giant
Striped Mongoose, the Grandidier s Mongoose is a hard creature to find. The Image result for

Farm As An Allegory In Animal Farm By George Orwell
Animal Farm can be an allegory for any communist revolution and subsequent collapse (if taken a
little more generally), but is specifically drawing from the Russian revolutions of 1917. Many of
the characters are direct parallels to members of the communist regime, and others are
representatives of portions of the population. Old Major represents two different people, both Marx
and Lenin. As Marx, he introduces the principles of communismto the animals. As Lenin, he puts
the revolution in motion. He tells them that they should rebel, and soon. Orwell is largely positive
in his portrayal of the character, he liked Marxismtheoretically, believing that the execution was
flawed. In the context of the book, however, Old Major, as the instigator, held much of the blame
for the eventual degradation of the society. But he was eventually forgotten as the farm s
condition worsened, so he started the snowball rolling, but failed to see that it would get bigger
and more destructive as it rolled down the hill. Mr. Jones is Czar Nicholas the II of Russia, the
last Czar. He was cruel, and uninterested in the day to day running of the farm, preferring to leave
the job to hired hands, who were just as lazy as Jones. Nicholas the II wasn t very lazy. He was,
however, disconnected from his people, and that proved to be just as ineffective and damaging.
The Czar was overthrown quickly but never came back to try to reclaim Russia. He was killed by
the Bolsheviks just a year after

Operation Sovereign Borders Essay
Operation Sovereign Borders
The detention of asylum seekers on offshore islands has becomes central to Australia s border
security program (Dickson, 2015). The offshore detention, processing and resettlement regime
branded the Pacific Solution was terminated in 2008; it was reconfigured and resurrected in 2013
(Larkin, 2017). Manus Island and Nauru were closed in 2008 by the Australian Labour government,
bringing an end to the Pacific Solution, the centres were once again used in 2012 to house asylum
seekers by the same government that ended the practice years before (Dickson, 2015). The next
year, in 2013, the Australian Coalition government made Australias asylum policy even sterner,
with Operation Sovereign Borders , which placed all the control of asylum operations in the hands

The Coalition government declared that there was a national emergency on Australia s borders, in
turn demanding a direct response to this issue through a disciplined, focused and targeted military
operation (Dickson, 2015). Thus, Operation Sovereign Borders emerged with its primary objective
being to stop the boats (Dickson. 2015). This new policy involved the military interception of
unauthorized maritime arrivals, thus sending the individuals found on the boats directly to Manus
Island and Nauru (Fraenkel, 2016). From the inauguration of this revamped policy, no matter
where an asylum seeker arrived from by boat, they were subject to transfer to either Manus Island
or Nauru (Grewcock, 2014). The purpose of this policy was to ensure the removal of all boat
arrivals attempting to breach Australia and in turn any possibility of resettlement for the asylum
seekers in the nation (Grewcock, 2014). Thus, those accepted as genuine refugees would be
permanently resettled in either Papua New Guinea, or Nauru, although the government of Nauru
held that it would not be granting refugees

By the year of 1996 the Taliban had taken control over the capital, Kabul. During the same year the

The Benefits Of Public Libraries
As technology advances and progresses more, some people began to question the existence of
public libraries and what value they ll hold in the future. More devices are being produced that
can replace books, such as Kindles, Nooks, and other apps that can be downloaded on any
portable electronic device. These devices, however, can t replace all that libraries can offer.
Public libraries will still be in use and serve us in the future. These facilities still offer people
internet access, services for children and families, and access to reading materials. First, public
libraries offer people access to the internet and to computers. Many people believe the age of the
Internet is what would shut down public libraries. However, not everyone has internet in their
homes and rely on places, like their local public library, to provide internet and computer access. In
an interview, Jorge said, Our study of library computer users found that for 22 percent of library
computer users (age 14 and older), that the library was their only access to computers and the
Internet (Source C). People still need public libraries to work on school work, online things for
their jobs, or even just to relax and play an online game. The original purpose of libraries was not
to offer internet, but libraries still serve a purpose and are in use. Secondly, public libraries offer
services and activities for kids and families. Aside from books and computers, libraries often have

One physical feature of Seahaven that reeks of a movie set, is the disorder or absence of, that
typical life indubitably suffers from. Everything from the dog to the cars, the window cleaner to
the mother pushing the pram is set by the director Christoff on a preset course round and round
their particular area or doing the same job over and over again. This prevents any chaos from
erupting and wipes out the need for policemen, which we obviously didn t see any in the Truman

First of all, there was a Great Fire of Rome that started in 64 AD, and Emperor Nero blamed the

In our society today there seems to be extensive competition involving research and being the first

research misconduct involving clinical research and deception to the public. This is unacceptable
because it possesses potential to directly affect the general public. Unfortunately there has been
monumental misconduct in clinical research that has directly affected the general population. The

Plagiarism is actually the most common type of misconduct. We also discussed the potential
danger of research misconduct along with the reasons why researchers chose to partake in
research misconduct. The reasons involved avoiding setbacks and protecting the researcher s
credibility, but none of these reasons seem to be equal to the risk of losing credibility. Scientific
fraud seems to be appearing in all fields ranging from paleontology to nanotechnology. Along
with this, certain surveys show that 40 percent of researchers were aware of the misconduct
(Gupta 1). There have been numerous attempts to completely eradicate medical research
misconduct but only a few techniques have been proven to be effective. The most impressive one
seems to be the changing of policy. A change of policy on research misconduct or the introduction
of an investigation committee would make it harder for researchers to fabricate data to avoid
setbacks along with making it extremely clear that consequences will be harsh. There have been
an uncountable amount of precautions recorded that were basically an attempt to end research
misconduct, and many of them proved to be effective. This has been a problem that affects a
majority of the globe including Iraq where Shirin Dijalalinia experimented quite a bit with
misconduct policies before she discovered a effective policy. In her article, A Proposed Strategy

ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE
Luxor Temple and Saint Peter s Basilica
I.OVERVIEW
The two pieces of art that I have chosen to compare are The Luxor Temple located in Luxor,
Egypt and Saint Peter s Basilica located within Vatican City of Rome, Italy. The ancient design has
fostered some of its styles and characteristics into future generations, and also upheld the mysteries
of phenomenal architecture over the centuries. I believe the Luxor Temple and Saint Peter s
Basilica are good pieces for comparison. The details and the architectural features between both of
these great Arts show ingenuity, symmetry, geometry and balance from two very diverse time
periods. The aspects of their values, religious beliefs, culture, and mythology play key roles in the
beliefs of both timepieces of Art. The architectural medium is not only impressive, but it is
captivating to the eye as well. One can only marvel at the unique wonders of ancient civilization.

This book touched me profoundly. I grew up without my father and met him when I was 20
years old. Meeting him was very challenging for me because I was consumed with so much
anger and I blamed him for not being there for me. In reading this book I am able to realize that
we do not always get to choose the path we walk down and sometimes life s circumstances shape
the people we become, for better or worse. This book has made me want to give my own father a
chance to explain to me what his life has been like, so that I might have a better understanding of
who he is. As I continue my journey through school, I am better able to assess individuals and
situations and have a level of empathy without being judgmental. As children we often feel like
we know who our parents are but there are so many unanswered questions and hidden lives that
it makes it difficult for children to relate to their parents. Each of our paths has impacted us in
both negative or positive ways and being able to understand that this affects the decisions that
we make can make unpleasant situations a bit easier to digest. Seeing how Rita felt closer to her
father as an adult once she got to know him, makes me feel like there is still hope for my father
and I. If Rita s father would have received help for the trauma he had gone through I believe he
could have been a better father to Rita while she was growing up. Untreated trauma can affect a

The Key Of A Well Oiled Team

is essential each person who belongs to it blends well and does their part to better themselves as a

My dogteam consists of four fantastic dogs, each of which have their own spunky personalities.
Boss, a man of wisdom, is the eldest of all the others. Monster, is a vicious licker and will cuddle

Last but not least, D.O.G (Dee Oh Gee), the youngest and most hardheaded dog on the team.
Every team needs someone to lead them and show them the way, typically it is the oldest or the
one with the most experience, which is why Boss is my leader. He is at the front of my line,
teaching the younger dogs and providing them with a good example to learn by. At home, he is
a joyful dog and loves to be pet, but when Boss is at races, there is no fooling around. He is there
to race and finish the job. Boss is so focused on the race when I am harnessing him. He does not

Cross-Sectional Analysis Paper
At first, it would be easy to assume that it was a cross sectional research because the article said
that it was over a 48 hour period. After reading more into the article, I believe that they used the
longitudinal research design. To begin, a longitudinal study is where someone takes a group of
people of the same age range and studies them over the course of several years or more. All the
children tested were initially monitored prenatally and later on in life at age five, before they
started school. For it to have been considered a cross sectional study, the researchers would have
used a variety of people from all different age ranges in a much shorter timeframe of a few weeks
or months.
In the beginning, the research started with 249 children, but later when they did the IQ testing there
was only a total of 150 children and that even included other children from outside the initial study
group. So the question begs, how many of the 150 were from the initial group? Without the actual

While the dispPreOrder function, only executes once per call, recursively, the dispPreOrder
function is required to execute N times, where N represents the number of nodes necessary for
processing through the function. Therefore, the dispPreOrder function contains an order of N, or
O(N) in Big O notation. Moreover, the dispLevelOrder function contains a single while loop, in
order to construct a queue of nodes, by level, in order to develop a traversal by each level of the

functions, the dispLevelOrder function executes, or conducts iterations a total of N times, where N

Yet, it is also a crucial tool in cultivating the idea of freedom and facilitating the democratic
development. This is the reason that the CCP puts great concern on Internet censorship.
Nevertheless, the citizens still have the means to access the so called sensitive information and
cultivate their critical thinking. This implies that the CCP cannot foster a Hexie society simply by
site blocking. On the other hand, Hong Kong is obvious an inharmonious society as we enjoy the
freedom of surfing the Internet and freedom of speech. People can freely exchange their ideas about
political and social affairs online and it is common for conflicts to emerge as people have different
considerations. Through the case analysis of Umbrella Revolution, the importance of the Internet in

Assassination Of The Post War 20th Century
He was shot on 22 November 1963, while travelling with his wife through Dallas, Texas, in the
back of an open top convertible.Lee Harvey Oswald opened fire as the presidential motorcade
passed the Texas School Book Depository at 12.30pm and the president was pronounced dead at
Dallas s Parkland Hospital 30 minutes later. The assassination became a defining event of the post
war 20th century, but a lack of clarity over the precise circumstances, together with the fact his
assassin was himself murdered two days later, have led to a host of conspiracy theories over who
was to blame. In 1964, the Warren Commissionconcluded Kennedy was killed by a lone assassin
Oswald while three other investigations, in 1968, 1975, and 1978 79, confirmed... Show more

It s just one reason why conspiracy theorists think more than one shooter was involved.
The Grassy Knoll: Most JFK conspiracy theories pivot around the idea that Oswald wasn t acting
alone. When the president was hit by the bullet that killed him, the motorcade was passing a grassy
knoll on the north side of Elm Street. Newspaper photographs record that shortly after the shooting,
police arrested three tramps found in a railroad car behind the knoll. Because the men were clean
shaven and well dressed there was speculation that they were CIA assassins rather than hobos.
The Long List of Culprits: If Oswald was a paid assassin rather than a disaffected loner, who was
writing his pay cheques? The list of candidates is long, but some names are put forward more
than most. They are:The CIA: The idea that the assassination was a CIA plot sounds bizarre, but
conspiracy theorists suggest the president s alleged comment that he wanted to splinter the CIA
into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds made him an agency target. Other theories
suggest that one of the tramps (see above) was E Howard Hunt, a former CIA operative who was
involved in the ill fated Bay of Pigs operation to oust Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
The Mafia: Why would the mafia want JFK dead? Because his brother, Robert, was turning up the
heat on organised crime. Robert was the US attorney general at the time and his anti mafia crusade

The tasks of EU are managed by a number of key bodies, which include:
Five institutions The European Commission (EU s executive body) The European Parliament
(elected by the citizens of the Member States) The Council of the European Union (representing the

My Life Paragonned to the Women in the Asher Lev Books by...
Asher Lev, an artist is a person first. He is an individual. If there is no person, there is no artist
(Chaim Potok). An individual with different characteristics has a different mindset, attitude,
confidence and respect from those around them. In Asher Lev by Chaim Potok, Asher is a
Ladover Hasid who grows up in a Hasidic community, who is deeply committed to his Jewish faith
and finds difficulty between the expectations of his traditions and his gift. He is an individual with
a broad mindset, who wants to do things inversely. He does not try to mold himself into the society
because he knows he would lose his identity; therefore, he constructs his attitude towards himself,
which helps him improve as an artist. His father, Aryeh is the... Show more content on

However, I wasted two years of my life serving her family and succeeding my mother s footsteps.
The structure of the Indian society has built on family values, respect towards elders and the
conservative awareness tops the way for arranging marriages. Women are restricted to move
independently in the society; her parents make their life choices, then her husband makes decisions
for her after marriage. The Rebbe gave his permission that September, I entered the Ladover
yeshiva, my mother entered Brooklyn s College, and my father resumed his journeys for the
Rebbe. I had stopped drawing (52). In the novel, Rebbe makes the decision for Rivkeh in a
certain situation. For instance, when she wants to go to college, even though she was depressed
and sick for years, Rebbe permits her to go to college to complete her brother s work not because
she wanted to acquire education. Likewise, I was unable to complete my college at a certain
age, because it was time for me to get married and later, along the years, I can complete my
education after marriage, uncertainty of my future husband permitting me to finish it. Ultimately,
being an artist, my talent was just praised not motivated. I had a passion to become a fine artist,
but I was so restricted to do anything with it that I wasted my years working and not concentrating
on my passion. There was a phase in my life, where I was pressured to look for a man within our
community for marriage. I had men interested and

Yoruba Women Roles
The roles of women in Yoruba religion Women s roles have always been obscured in African
society. It is very diverse and controversial across African religions. The ideations of equal rights
and power for both sexes are nowhere apparent in African culture. The portrayal of its culture is
mainly presented from a masculine perspective. Little do we know about women s roles and lives.
It is uncommon to see articles or newspapers that focus on feminine views and their social roles in
African religion. However, in Yoruba culture, the endeavor of Yoruba women that strive for
equality of power can be gradually perceived and attained in certain extents.

Women also take part in spiritual aspect where they serve as healers of cultic functionaries. The
explanation of Olademo(2012) suggested that healers are individuals who help to restore health to
sick people and help them to overcome the undesirable condition. When someone in the community
suffers from sickness, it is considered that the person is out of tune with nature (Olademo, 2012, p.
53) which is also a sign that the person is losing the power he attains. This is the reason why
healing is crucial in Yoruba religion because it represents the completeness of person, family and
the community. Women are predominantly tide with every sector of daily life. Most commonly,
women are known as caring, meticulous, and humane. The job of healing is compatible with the
characterizations described above of women. The duties of women healers are to remember all of
the herb names and its usage, as they are great importance in treating and healing sick people.
Furthermore, women healers offer consultation services for sick individuals, which some may
require both religious and physical healing. The position of woman healer is a great resemblance of
being a mother. They are so similar in the fact that they both demand caring and patient.
Unfortunately, there are constraints and prohibitions because the women s physiological structure

Through the character of Jimmy and later his new persona Snowman, the reader is shown the detrimental effects of an abandoned childhood. Not only do Jimmy s poor choices in his adult life have a clear link to his neglected and unguided childhood they also create an adult that is emotionally damaged and unable to see the right path in his life even when he wants to. Whether it is the fact that Snowman wants to be the parent he never had, or if he just simply doesn t want to lose his only somewhat human interactions, it is evident that he cares about these creatures. In the time of crisis he exhibits a compassionate reasonability toward the Crakers because it is his duty to look after the new race of humans. Perhaps the only positive by product of his dysfunctional childhood is that he knows what it is like to be deserted and left uncared for so he strives now in his adulthood as Snowman to protect the Crakers as best he can. Even though Crakers original vision for these creature was to make them Godless and without art, Snowman taught them things in there childhood that contradicted there original thoughts. Farm As An Allegory In Animal Farm By George Orwell Animal Farm can be an allegory for any communist revolution and subsequent collapse (if taken a little more generally), but is specifically drawing from the Russian revolutions of 1917. Many of the characters are direct parallels to members of the communist regime, and others are representatives of portions of the population. Old Major represents two different people, both Marx and Lenin. As Marx, he introduces the principles of communismto the animals. As Lenin, he puts the revolution in motion. He tells them that they should rebel, and soon. Orwell is largely positive in his portrayal of the character, he liked Marxismtheoretically, believing that the execution was flawed. In the context of the book, however, Old Major, as the instigator, held much of the blame for the eventual degradation of the society. But he was eventually forgotten as the farm s condition worsened, so he started the snowball rolling, but failed to see that it would get bigger and more destructive as it rolled down the hill. The offshore detention, processing and resettlement regime branded the Pacific Solution was terminated in 2008; it was reconfigured and resurrected in 2013 (Larkin, 2017). Manus Island and Nauru were closed in 2008 by the Australian Labour government, bringing an end to the Pacific Solution, the centres were once again used in 2012 to house asylum seekers by the same government that ended the practice years before (Dickson, 2015). Thus, Operation Sovereign Borders emerged with its primary objective being to stop the boats (Dickson. 2015). This new policy involved the military interception of unauthorized maritime arrivals, thus sending the individuals found on the boats directly to Manus Island and Nauru (Fraenkel, 2016). From the inauguration of this revamped policy, no matter where an asylum seeker arrived from by boat, they were subject to transfer to either Manus Island or Nauru (Grewcock, 2014). The purpose of this policy was to ensure the removal of all boat arrivals attempting to breach Australia and in turn any possibility of resettlement for the asylum seekers in the nation (Grewcock, 2014). All the children tested were initially monitored prenatally and later on in life at age five, before they started school. For it to have been considered a cross sectional study, the researchers would have used a variety of people from all different age ranges in a much shorter timeframe of a few weeks or months.
