Essay on American vs. Japanese Education Systems
Education Synthesis Essay The educational system differs throughout the world; its viewed and taught
differently because of cultural differences. Many cultures view education as a necessity of life
therefore family are strict and get more involved in there child s education. Around the world,
education is given to students to prepare them for their future. The American education is considered
one of the strongest systems of education therefore many countries the American system. The
American education system contains many differences and similarities to the foreign system of

everything she teaches because 70% of teachers teach all subjects as specialist ( Education In Japan ),

When Rain Clouds Gather By Bessie Head Essay
When Rain Clouds Gather by Bessie Head shows the beginning of a cultural and agricultural
movement in Botswana during the 1960s. It all begins with Makhaya fleeing from his Zulu tribe in
South Africa to Botswana and eventually finding refuge in Golema Mmidi. He goes to Botswana
looking purely for freedom from traditional tribal life and instead finds more culture, family, and
agriculture. Because the narrative flips between perspectives, readers understand Botswana life for
outsiders and insiders alike. With such a detailed explanation of Botswana and South African
lifestyles, it s surprising to find all of them true. Her attention to factual details caused Golema Mmidi
a fictional place to feel realistically utopian. Makhaya originally stayed in Golema Mmidi, despite his
initial desires for peace because of the agriculture which later caused him to accept the cultural,
familial, and communal traditions he initially ran away from. When Makhaya fled to Botswana, he
intended to find peace of mind and a place where he can live well and sanely (Head 71). With this in
mind, his search for an ideal community derived from his hatred for his old community in South
Africa. First of all, Makhaya fled from the Zulu tribe (Head 3) in real life KwaZulu Natal, Africa. His
tribe followed many of the old and often strict traditions of ancient African tribes. This includes the
First Fruits Ceremony and Doctoring of the Army (Harries 113); both considered old fashioned during

Portnoy’s Complaint is a Story of a Jewish Bachelor by...
Portnoy s Complaint by Philip Roth tells the story of a perverse mama s boy Jewish bachelor, who
confesses to his psychoanalyst all of his complaints and struggles. Topics mentioned in the book
include the experiences of assimilated American Jews, the relationship between American Jews and
Jews of Israel, and the characteristics of being part of a Jewish family. Portnoy s Complaint fits right
in within Jewish comedy traditions, especially within the time period of its debut. Roth s novel reads
like a classic Stand up routine. As Portnoy himself calls it The Alexander Portnoy Show! The
character of Alexander Portnoy personifies the relevant humor found in Jewish tradition. The character
of Alexander Portnoy represents the classic Jewish stigma of the Schlemiel. According to Sanford
Pinsker in his book, The Schlemiel as Metaphor, the schlemiel embodied the negative qualities of
weaknesses that had to be ridiculed in order to be overcome within Jewish life. Pinsker describes the
Schlemiel as one whom looks upon their disabilities as peripheral sufferings, sustained through no
fault of their own, and is seen as a model of perseverance. An example of Portnoy as a schlemiel is
when he talked about his favorite activity, masturbation. Portnoy violates all modesty by speaking in
detail about his masturbation and mentioning all the places he has left his semen. The greatest memory
that Portnoy shared that emphasizes his schlemiel like persona was the time when he recited

The Process Of Learning The Rubik s Cubes
This week I am starting my final project. I have come to the conclusion that I will learn the Rubik s
cube in the next few weeks. Hopefully, I will be able to learn to complete it at the least and memorize
the solution if possible. I went out and purchased a Rubik s cube for about 15 dollars a few days ago.
Of course I ve already scrambled it and threw my sad attempt at accomplishing something without
these foreign directions that come out of the box. I guess I can relate this to the process of converting
to a new religion or being introduced to a new religion. It s very confusing and overwhelming, being
careful not to misinterpret anything at face value. I feel intimidated, but determined to learn this little
three by three cube. Laziness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I ve already watched a few YouTube videos of beginner guides other enthusiasts have created. Sadly,
being able to complete the Rubik s cube in the future will not make me a Shaman. Hinduism is the
main focus of this week. This is also the week I committed to learning the orientations of the Rubik s
cube and the terminologies I didn t understand in the directions. I ve had somewhat of an
understanding of the direction, but still have a hard time performing the action correctly. For example,
the instruction will say to rotate this side inverted (counter clockwise) and I will misinterpret and just
rotate it regular (clockwise). This is kind of like forgetting your rights from your lefts. This is
frustrating because if one move is messed up everything you ve done goes to waste and are forced to
restart. The orientation labels and instruction are to the Rubik s cube as the Vedas are to Hinduism. At
this point I have the first two algorithms almost down, but struggle quite a bit with anything beyond
that. The algorithms jump from being four notations to eight notations. I expect my learning progress
from here out to be a little slower than how fast and easy it was for me this week. I just need to set
some time to dedicate to learn the Rubik s cube in the coming weeks so I do not procrastinate if I want
to be able to complete the Rubik s cube completely by memory. This week we touched a little on

Education Is An Integral Part Of A Child s Upbringing
Academia Education
Academia education is considered an integral part of a child s upbringing, and therefore it remains
highly important to require academic institutions to educate and inform students regarding substance
use and its consequences. SAMHSA recommends instituting programs at an early age, for example,
the Good Behavior Game introduced in elementary schools, is a management strategy aimed at
reducing aggressive, disruptive classroom behavior, a risk factor for adolescent and illicit drug abuse
(SAMHSA, 2016). Similarly the focus group participants mentioned that Academia Education from K
12 grade needs to incorporate evidence based programs in the academic curriculum in addressing
alcohol and other drug use among the youth. NH young adults emphasized the importance of
introducing substance misuse education in early school age from elementary while strengthening the
current health curriculum in middle and high schools.

Majority of the focus group participants identified the weaknesses and drawbacks associated with the
current health education classes particularly in substance misuse education in middle and high
schools. For example, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program introduced in the fifth
grade is cited as a weak and ineffective program that employs scare

Essay on The Failings of Fundamentalism
Fundamentalism is an espresso shot of Christianity strong, bitter, and undiluted.
Fundamentalists believe the Bible should be interpreted as literal fact, not metaphorically.
To them, it is God s direct word to humanity and the ultimate earthly authority. And so
fundamentalists follow the Bible with unwavering certainty, as if it were God himself, and
press their interpretation of the book upon society. But the certainty at fundamentalism s core is
unwarranted, leading them to wrongfully ignore their oppositions own valid opinions and the
potential gains that come with them.
In the eyes of Christian fundamentalists, their actions are protecting God s will;
they are upholding the laws of the Supreme Being, thus keeping ... Show more content on

Their beliefs
demand an uncompromising attitude; for in their minds, their beliefs are not just their beliefs, but
unquestionable truths ordained by God.
While the fundamentalists reasoning is valid, their assumptions are dubious, resulting in
an absolutist mindset that unduly rejects non Biblical viewpoints. Indeed, if the Bible is inerrant,
and if the Bible is God s supreme will, then the fundamentalists zeal is justifiable and the world
ought to listen to them. However, fundamentalists downplay the almighty if. By their own
admission, their certainty in the Bible and in God is built on faith, which the Bible defines
as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (NIV Heb. 11.1).
Neither hope nor assurance are quantifiable pieces of evidence; they are feelings, subjective by
definition. Therefore, fundamentalists may feel they are right, but they cannot know whether
they are right by standards of objective reasoning. Even if fundamentalist doctrine is entirely
correct, it has no more privilege to absolute certainty than any other set of opinions. As such,
fundamentalists must understand that their legislative efforts to defend God s will from ungodly
assaults (Marsden) will be seen by others as acts of condemnation, homophobia, and misogyny
(Riascos). They must consider others opposite and equally

Warsaw Ghetto During The Holocaust
The Holocaust can be described as the prosecution and death of about six million Jews in Europe by
the Nazis between 1933 and 1945. Other ethnic groups like pygmies were destroyed as well. The
Holocaust started when Hitler became Chancellor in 1933 and passed decree/laws removing Jews as
citizens of the country. Overtime when the Nazis occupied majority of Europe, the Jews were forced
to move out of their homes to live in specific areas under harsh conditions which are also known as
ghettos and were later transferred to the death camps. The ghettos could be described as the Jewish
city districts in which the Jews were meant to live in order to be separated from the Non Jewish
population. One of the biggest types of ghettos was the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland where more than
400,000 Jews were crowded into an area of 1.3 square miles and were living in harsh conditions. This
was established On October 12 1940 after the decree the establishment of a ghetto in Warsaw. All
Jewish residents of Warsaw were supposed to move into a small area, which was eventually sealed by
the Nazis from the other citizens in November 1940. The ghetto was enclosed by a wall that was over
10 feet high, topped with barbed wire, and closely guarded to prevent movement between the ghetto
and the rest of Warsaw. The end of 1940 found Warsaw Jews confined to a 1.36 square mile area that
was surrounded by a 10 foot wall topped with barbed wire and broken glass. Within the ghetto there

War Between Europeans And Indians
Suspicion and hostility, branching from technological and cultural differences, as well as, mutual
feelings of being superior, have infused relations between Native Americans and non Natives in North
America. Intertribal conflicts among the Indians, and nationalistic rivalries, lacking faith, and
expansion desires on the part of non natives worsened these tensions. The resulting white and native
conflicts often took a particularly bad turn and resulted in the near destruction of the native
people(Native American). War between Europeans and Indians was common back in the 1600s. In
1622, the Powhatans nearly wiped out the already struggling Jamestown colony. Frustrated at the
continuing conflicts, Nathaniel Bacon and a group of whites destroyed the Pamunkey Indians before
leading an unsuccessful revolt against colonial authorities in 1676. Continuous wars also plagued
early Dutch colonies in New York. In New England, Puritan forces wiped out the Pequots in 1636, a
campaign s intensity that seemed to shape the future. Following attacks inspired by King Philip
against English settlements sparked a concerted response from the New England Confederation.
Employing Indian partnerships and a scorched earth policy, the colonists nearly wiped out the
Narragansetts, Wampanoag, and Nipmuck tribes in 1675 and1676. A major Pueblo revolt also
threatened New Mexico in 1680 (European). Indians were also a key factor in the rivalries among
France, Spain, and England. In King William s, Queen

The Components Of Centralized Expretation In The...
3.4. Centralized approach
The centralized approach is to recognize the most frequently used approach and to diagnose abnormal
data readouts caused by a monitoring process, malfunctions of the components of the sensor node, or
environmental events. In the centralized failure detection, each sensor node periodically collects its
read and sends a packet on the radio to the central base node responsible for identifying faulty sensor
nodes in WSN. In this concern, there are many research activities were reported. Gupta and Younis
tried to provide a tolerant grouping mechanism to fail to provide the sensor by performing a sensor
recovery in the runes in which the bridge has recovered. The mechanism is separated into two phases:

CNBD analyzed the aggregated data to the sink by the transfer time from end to end to obtain a higher
battery power of each node [83]. Guo and et. al. have suggested a Faulty Node Detection (FIND) to
WSN. FIND is a method for nodes with data errors capturing a centralized approach, without specific
recognition model taking into account. It is measured to measure the signal attenuation distance [84].
Saihi and et al. used to create a centralized error detection method based on clustering approach, the
exchange of messages heartbeat actionable scalable and balanced applications for WSN [85]. In April
2016, Tahir and et al. evaluated a nominal power consumption in wireless sensor networks through a
system through which a small number of high energy nodes collect both location information and the
residual power state of the read nodes, then they are transmitted to the base station (BS). The authors
suggested an algorithm in which a minor proportion of the high energy nodes are used to transmit each
node s information to the Base Station (BS) [86].
3.5. Distributed approach
The decentralized approach is about capturing central resources for detection and faster localization
and healing. It combines the availability of the information back to leverage the central approach and
low overhead communication. In distributed detection of errors, the sensor nodes

Theme Of Revenge In Hamlet
Ojea Quintana 1
Lucas Ojea Quintana
Mr. Sather
AP English 3: Section 1
23 October 2017
The Delay of Revenge Shakespeare s Tragedy Hamlet, demonstrates how humans have to answer one
question throughout their life, To be, or not to be. This question can apply to anything and anyone and
asks if a person should act or not. The ghost is a character who rarely appears, but offers Hamlet the
significant life long question, Hamlet must answer. Throughout the play Hamlet wonders if he should
kill Claudius or not which is the basis of the question, to be or not to be. Hamlet does not successfully
answer that question and he does not act when he should, which ends up killing him. The ghost affects
the theme of revenge because he calls upon Hamlet to avenge him and Hamlet s legacy. Although
deeply sorrowed by his father s death, Hamlet did not consider payback as an option until he meets
with the ghost of his father. The ghost tells Hamlet King Claudius, his own brother, murdered him.
Then the ghost tells Hamlet to revenge his foul and most unnatural murder? (I.v.25). Although murder
was an acceptable form of revenge in Hamlet s time he is uncertain about killing Claudius. However,
upon his father s command, Hamlet reluctantly swears to get revenge against Claudius. Hamlet does
this not because he wants to, but because his father makes it clear that it is his duty as a son, and so
Hamlet should not disappoint his perfect father. Hamlet promises to prove his love and duty by killing
Claudius.
Ojea Quintana 2 The idea of revenge is illustrated in many ways throughout the play. The appearance
of the ghost introduces appearance versus reality. When Claudius is at prayer, Hamlet had a perfect
opportunity to kill him but he did not want revenge for just punishment in his life, he wanted revenge
for punishment for eternity. Hamlet thinks that killing Claudius in his state of purity do this same
villain send /To heaven. /Why, this is hire and salary, not revenge! (III.iii.76) will make Claudius go to
heaven which is much more than he deserves. Yet another change I m Hamlet s character, changing
from not even thinking about killing Claudius at the start of the play too making sure

Healthcare System Is A Fundamental Right For An Individual
Introduction Health is one of the global challenges for humanity. According to the constitutions of
World Health Organization (WHO) the highest attainable standard of health is a fundamental right for
an individual. Healthy individuals lead to secure their lifetime income and hence to increase in gross
domestic product and in tax revenues. Healthy individuals also reduce pressure on the already
overwhelmed hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals and reduce workload on the public safety
networks, charities, and governmental (or non governmental) organizations. To keep individuals
healthy an effective and readily accessible modern healthcare system is a prerequisite. Introduction
With the rapid increase of the older population coupled with that of its life span, the number of
patients who require monitoring also increases. Therefore, it is predicated that the cost of
hospitalization and patient care will rise worldwide. This includes patients who suffer sentinel events
associated with; incorrect medication, dosage inaccuracies, contraindications or critical delays in
interventions resulting in hospitalization. Health monitoring systems (HMS) can play a significant role
in reducing hospitalization, burden of medical staff, Consultation time, waiting lists and overall
healthcare costs. Health monitoring systems can be classified into three categories which are identified
below. Introduction REMOTE HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEMS (RHMS) REFER TO

Garage Door Troubleshooting Techniques
Having a stuck garage door can be so infuriating; it almost makes you feel like driving through it.
Several people find themselves in this situation, especially during winter. Instead of getting frustrated,
use your skills and do some troubleshooting techniques to resolve the issue. First, take a few minutes
to examine the door to see if its safety features are working properly. Sometimes the manufacturer s
safety features may prevent the door from opening. If that doesn t work, perhaps these troubleshooting
tips will. Here are some of the steps you could take before you call in a company offering garage door

team spirit, and boosts the morale among the workers; probably because it gives each person an equal
chance to voice his or her option about any decision made. This type of leadership is good for the peer

Recently there has been a few state actors who are now threating the United States much more then

the world s super power and the lonely North Koreans, having both President Trump and North
Korean leader Kim Jong Un aware of the immense cost of the another Korean War (Berlinger, 2017).
Defense Secretary James Mattis stated: both the U.S. and North Korea have proved over time they can

Smoother Transition In Radiology
The opportunity to work together with physicians from every field, care for patients of all ages and be
at the forefront of diagnosing a wide range of pathology from acute to chronic make radiology the
right fit for me.
Early in my third year I had the opportunity to spend a half day per week with a local radiologists in a
small hospital while on my Family Medicine clerkship. Among many interesting cases, I remember
one in particular. Mrs. P was in her second trimester and had undergone an ultrasound revealing a low
lying placenta. The radiologist met with the Family medicine physician to inform them of the finding
and discuss further management. Later that week I met the patient in clinic where she expressed
gratitude that her diagnosis was made but uneasiness with what this meant for her pregnancy.
Together, the three decided it would be best to deliver at a larger outside hospital.
In the remainder of my third year I came to further appreciate just how integral radiology is to patient
care. Whether it was quickly diagnosing appendicitis in the middle of the night, helping an oncologist
determine staging to guide therapy, or draining an abdominal abscess; radiology was often central to
determining the management plan.

Adult Development Attachment Analysis
Adult Development Interview: Attachment Across a Life Span The notion of attachment and the
attachment theory are primarily associated to John Bowlby, who s articulation of attachment diverged
significantly from all previous theories concerning the importance of social and emotional bonds
formed by a child. The propensity to search for contact with a care giver was not a derived from
inclination, but subsisted as a primary and permanent drive (Broderick Blewitt.2015). Essentially, the
attachment theory challenged theories of social learning, along with psychoanalysis. According to
social learning theories, attachment is formed with those persons who satisfy social needs, while

Continuity Of Pre-Imperial Chinese Religion
Continuity of Pre Imperial Chinese religion
Religion in modern day China is as diverse as its population. From Confucianism to Buddhism,
multiple schools of thought have shaped China s culture across the ages, creating the varied belief s
that are held in the country today. Before these large schools of thought existed, there was popular folk
religion that was practiced in pre Imperial China. Although religion and religious practices have
evolved considerably since then, elements are still interweaved in popular religion of the modern day.
From the Xia through to the early Zhou dynasty, there is clear evidence that religion in these times set
the foundation for later practices and thought. Though some physical rituals have been discontinued ...

Rituals such as animal and human sacrifice have clear reasons as to why they are no longer practiced
in modern society, but religious ideas continue to reflect indigenous beliefs and traditions. There are
five acknowledged independent religions in modern China, Buddhism, Daoism, Islam, Catholicism,
and Protestantism, but the largest percent of the population practice what is simply known as Chinese
folk religion. Ancient shamanism with divination and balance of nature could be viewed as the
foundation for many religions; It is not too difficult to see the traces of shamanism in many religions,
for it really epitomizes humankind s deep rooted subconscious beliefs around the world in which we
live. Shamanism views the universe as an interconnectedness of spirit and matter. Modern ceremonies
and festivals such as Chinese New Year stem from ancient rhythmic and seasonal festivals which were
used to honour ancestors and spirits. Divination and omen reading have been central to both
Confucian and Daoist procedural, while notions of natural balance of the body and spiritual world are

Hemodialysis
Dialysis
The kidneys are important organ in the body. It helps regulate extracellular fluid and excrete waste
products from the body. The kidneys also function to control blood pressure, produce erythropoietin,
activate vitamin D, and regulate acid base balance. When the kidneys fail to function, or work as they
should, dialysis is needed. Dialysis restores internal homeostasis by osmosis, diffusion, and
ultrafiltration. It can sustain life for people who have acute and chronic renal failure. There are two
different types of dialysis, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Hemodialysis is a dialysis that uses an

Depending on the dialysis treatment used, protein and other essential electrolytes are either removed
or retained. It is essential to monitor laboratory values and to perform proper assessments to assure the

patient who is on peritoneal dialysis would be on a high protein diet to compensate for this loss.
Potassium is usually individualized depending on laboratory values and the extent of the disease. A
patient undergoing hemodialysis should maintain a daily allowance intake of two to three grams per

maintained and monitored throughout dialysis. While sodium intake is individualized, considerations
must be taken to limit high sodium diets such as processed foods, canned foods, and cured meats.

The Theory Of Scientific Management Essay
According to Miller (2010) Scientific management (Taylorism) was devised by Frederick Taylor to
improve economic efficiency especially labor productivity by analyzing and establishing workflows. It
was one of the earliest attempts to apply science to the engineering of processes and to management.
Taylor s scientific management was based on four principles. The first is replacing the rule of thumb
work methods with methods based on a scientific study. The second is selecting, training and
developing the most suitable person for the job. The third principle is managers should give out
detailed instructions on how to do the job scientifically and supervise workers. The last principle is
dividing the tasks between managers and workers. This paper will discuss if these scientific
management principles are outdated in the study of organizations. I will present the principles and
explain their relevance in current organizations.
The rule of thumb is a procedure that developed from experience and common sense. It totally ignores
scientific knowledge. Taylor argued that for an organization to become more efficient managers had to
develop a science of work that is cultivating methods based on a scientific study of those tasks.
Morgan (2006) asserts that this was done to determine the most efficient way of doing work. The
scientific method would therefore simplify worker s tasks in detail and specify the amount of work
needed to do the task and the necessary time to finish that

Essay On Jury Nullification
Racially Based Jury Nullification
Jury Nullification
Criminal trials depend on the jury s decision on whether a defendant is guilty or not of the crimes they
are charged with. After examining the evidence and testimony during the trail, the jury will decide if
the defendant broke the law. A judge will give specific instructions to follow, and the laws that govern
the proceedings of the case.
The jury may disagree with the law and instructions the judge have given them over the course of the
trial. Jury nullification occurs when all of the evidence shows the defendant committed a crime, and
the jury finds them not guilty based on some racial inequality. The jury chose to ignore the evidence
and the law and return a not guilty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She continues her argument by stating, disadvantaged black women are being targeted for prosecution
not for abusing an unborn child, but because they are targeted for being poor black women. A policy
that attempts to protect fetuses by denying the humanity of their mothers will inevitably fail. A
commitment to guaranteeing these fundamental rights of poor women of color, rather than punishing
them, is the real solution to the problem of unhealthy babies (Roberts, 1991, p.1482).
Randall Kennedy s analysis
Kennedy argues that the analysis Roberts stated unconstitutional racial discrimination that are often
made by opponents of prosecutions have not been persuasively substantiated (Kennedy, 1997, p.363).
Kennedy further questions the hypothetical issue of the deprivation of black babies of equal protection
of the law is trapped by a reflexive animosity to law enforcement and an inattentiveness to its essential

1997, p.361) in illicit drug use to determine who is in

Examples Of Voyeurism In The Truman Show
In the film The Truman Show directed by Peter Weir, the theme of voyeurism is portrayed by a variety
of film techniques. This is particularly prominent in the closing scene, the opening scene and when

The theme of voyeurism is particularly prominent in the final scene of The Truman Show, where

In the late 1800 s and early 1900 s there were a lot of things going on in the United States. New laws
were being formed about child labor, women started standing up for themselves and demanding tights

When users are searching for information on the web, they evaluate results tertieved before planning
the next search procedure. When evaluating, users are able to make connections between information
pieces from text, image or video based content and make associations between words. The goal of the
third generation of the web is to make more data available online readable and analyzable for
machines as well. The Semantic Web will bring structure to the meaningful content of Web pages by
using metadata and ontology, creating an environment where software agents can rapidly answer
complex queries of users. (Berners Lee et al. 2001) The source of this environment is already there:
we have huge amount of data available online. Three components help to transform existing data and

The Temptations Essay
The Temptations Motown took the world over by surprise. The vivid and new sounds from Motown

the bad and opened the eyes of those who thought African Americans would never amount to
anything. Although there still happened to be racism, and prejudice, African Americans managed to
become recognized and well known for their abilities. Not only were the Motown artists extraordinary

Every which way they turned someone was dropping out and couldn t handle their position no longer.
The Temptations had a totally of 21 members who were once apart of the band. The first five members
were Melvin Franklin, Otis Williams, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and Elbridge Bryant. After
some struggle with the first two singles, Bryant was the first to leave. Bryant after not contributing his
full abilities to the band from his slacking off was finally fired right after a Motown Christmas party in
1966. Right after Bryant left, David Ruffin came aboard. His skills were seen right at the beginning,
and with him the Temptations became known as the classic 5, producing some of their best work.
Although Ruffin seemed to be exactly what the group needed, their high likings soon disappeared.
Ruffin became way too self centered and along with his drug addictions, and missing of not only
rehearsals but concerts as well, Ruffin was then fired. Replacing him, Dennis Edwards originally from
the Contours joined the crew, and became the new lead singer. Entering new and different styles of
their music, things were going fine, until Paul s alcohol addictions started to become a big problem.
As his breathes became shorter Richard Street, from the Monitors, filled in for him on days he couldn
t perform. Though, after a fail of recovery, and right before Paul went solo, he committed suicide in
1973. Before Paul s problems started to

  • 3. When Rain Clouds Gather By Bessie Head Essay When Rain Clouds Gather by Bessie Head shows the beginning of a cultural and agricultural movement in Botswana during the 1960s. It all begins with Makhaya fleeing from his Zulu tribe in South Africa to Botswana and eventually finding refuge in Golema Mmidi. He goes to Botswana looking purely for freedom from traditional tribal life and instead finds more culture, family, and agriculture. Because the narrative flips between perspectives, readers understand Botswana life for outsiders and insiders alike. With such a detailed explanation of Botswana and South African lifestyles, it s surprising to find all of them true. Her attention to factual details caused Golema Mmidi a fictional place to feel realistically utopian. Makhaya originally stayed in Golema Mmidi, despite his initial desires for peace because of the agriculture which later caused him to accept the cultural, familial, and communal traditions he initially ran away from. When Makhaya fled to Botswana, he intended to find peace of mind and a place where he can live well and sanely (Head 71). With this in mind, his search for an ideal community derived from his hatred for his old community in South Africa. First of all, Makhaya fled from the Zulu tribe (Head 3) in real life KwaZulu Natal, Africa. His tribe followed many of the old and often strict traditions of ancient African tribes. Portnoy s Complaint by Philip Roth tells the story of a perverse mama s boy Jewish bachelor, who confesses to his psychoanalyst all of his complaints and struggles. Topics mentioned in the book include the experiences of assimilated American Jews, the relationship between American Jews and Jews of Israel, and the characteristics of being part of a Jewish family. Portnoy s Complaint fits right in within Jewish comedy traditions, especially within the time period of its debut. Roth s novel reads like a classic Stand up routine. As Portnoy himself calls it The Alexander Portnoy Show! The character of Alexander Portnoy personifies the relevant humor found in Jewish tradition. The character of Alexander Portnoy represents the classic Jewish stigma of the Schlemiel. According to Sanford Pinsker in his book, The Schlemiel as Metaphor, the schlemiel embodied the negative qualities of weaknesses that had to be ridiculed in order to be overcome within Jewish life. Pinsker describes the Schlemiel as one whom looks upon their disabilities as peripheral sufferings, sustained through no fault of their own, and is seen as a model of perseverance. An example of Portnoy as a schlemiel is when he talked about his favorite activity, masturbation. Portnoy violates all modesty by speaking in detail about his masturbation and mentioning all the places he has left his semen. The greatest memory that Portnoy shared that emphasizes his schlemiel like persona was the time when he recited ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hopefully, I will be able to learn to complete it at the least and memorize the solution if possible. I went out and purchased a Rubik s cube for about 15 dollars a few days ago. Of course I ve already scrambled it and threw my sad attempt at accomplishing something without these foreign directions that come out of the box. I ve had somewhat of an understanding of the direction, but still have a hard time performing the action correctly. For example, the instruction will say to rotate this side inverted (counter clockwise) and I will misinterpret and just rotate it regular (clockwise). This is kind of like forgetting your rights from your lefts. This is frustrating because if one move is messed up everything you ve done goes to waste and are forced to restart. The orientation labels and instruction are to the Rubik s cube as the Vedas are to Hinduism. At this point I have the first two algorithms almost down, but struggle quite a bit with anything beyond that. The algorithms jump from being four notations to eight notations. I expect my learning progress from here out to be a little slower than how fast and easy it was for me this week. Other ethnic groups like pygmies were destroyed as well. The Holocaust started when Hitler became Chancellor in 1933 and passed decree/laws removing Jews as citizens of the country. Overtime when the Nazis occupied majority of Europe, the Jews were forced to move out of their homes to live in specific areas under harsh conditions which are also known as ghettos and were later transferred to the death camps. The ghettos could be described as the Jewish city districts in which the Jews were meant to live in order to be separated from the Non Jewish population. One of the biggest types of ghettos was the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland where more than 400,000 Jews were crowded into an area of 1.3 square miles and were living in harsh conditions. This was established On October 12 1940 after the decree the establishment of a ghetto in Warsaw. All Jewish residents of Warsaw were supposed to move into a small area, which was eventually sealed by the Nazis from the other citizens in November 1940. The ghetto was enclosed by a wall that was over 10 feet high, topped with barbed wire, and closely guarded to prevent movement between the ghetto and the rest of Warsaw. War Between Europeans And Indians Suspicion and hostility, branching from technological and cultural differences, as well as, mutual feelings of being superior, have infused relations between Native Americans and non Natives in North America. Intertribal conflicts among the Indians, and nationalistic rivalries, lacking faith, and expansion desires on the part of non natives worsened these tensions. The resulting white and native conflicts often took a particularly bad turn and resulted in the near destruction of the native people(Native American). War between Europeans and Indians was common back in the 1600s. In 1622, the Powhatans nearly wiped out the already struggling Jamestown colony. Frustrated at the continuing conflicts, Nathaniel Bacon and a group of whites destroyed the Pamunkey Indians before leading an unsuccessful revolt against colonial authorities in 1676. Continuous wars also plagued early Dutch colonies in New York. In New England, Puritan forces wiped out the Pequots in 1636, a campaign s intensity that seemed to shape the future. Following attacks inspired by King Philip against English settlements sparked a concerted response from the New England Confederation. Employing Indian partnerships and a scorched earth policy, the colonists nearly wiped out the Narragansetts, Wampanoag, and Nipmuck tribes in 1675 and1676. A major Pueblo revolt also threatened New Mexico in 1680 (European). Indians were also a key factor in the rivalries among France, Spain, and England. In King William s, Queen ... Centralized approach The centralized approach is to recognize the most frequently used approach and to diagnose abnormal data readouts caused by a monitoring process, malfunctions of the components of the sensor node, or environmental events. • 14. Theme Of Revenge In Hamlet Ojea Quintana 1 Lucas Ojea Quintana Mr. Sather AP English 3: Section 1 23 October 2017 The Delay of Revenge Shakespeare s Tragedy Hamlet, demonstrates how humans have to answer one question throughout their life, To be, or not to be. This question can apply to anything and anyone and asks if a person should act or not. The ghost is a character who rarely appears, but offers Hamlet the significant life long question, Hamlet must answer. Throughout the play Hamlet wonders if he should kill Claudius or not which is the basis of the question, to be or not to be. Hamlet does not successfully answer that question and he does not act when he should, which ends up killing him. The ghost affects the theme of revenge because he calls upon Hamlet to avenge him and Hamlet s legacy. Although deeply sorrowed by his father s death, Hamlet did not consider payback as an option until he meets with the ghost of his father. The ghost tells Hamlet King Claudius, his own brother, murdered him. Then the ghost tells Hamlet to revenge his foul and most unnatural murder? (I.v.25). Although murder was an acceptable form of revenge in Hamlet s time he is uncertain about killing Claudius. However, upon his father s command, Hamlet reluctantly swears to get revenge against Claudius. Hamlet does this not because he wants to, but because his father makes it clear that it is his duty as a son, and so Hamlet should not disappoint his perfect father. Hamlet promises to prove his love and duty by killing Claudius. Ojea Quintana 2 The idea of revenge is illustrated in many ways throughout the play. The appearance of the ghost introduces appearance versus reality. When Claudius is at prayer, Hamlet had a perfect opportunity to kill him but he did not want revenge for just punishment in his life, he wanted revenge for punishment for eternity. Hamlet thinks that killing Claudius in his state of purity do this same villain send /To heaven. /Why, this is hire and salary, not revenge! • 29. The Theory Of Scientific Management Essay According to Miller (2010) Scientific management (Taylorism) was devised by Frederick Taylor to improve economic efficiency especially labor productivity by analyzing and establishing workflows. It was one of the earliest attempts to apply science to the engineering of processes and to management. Taylor s scientific management was based on four principles. The first is replacing the rule of thumb work methods with methods based on a scientific study. The second is selecting, training and developing the most suitable person for the job. The third principle is managers should give out detailed instructions on how to do the job scientifically and supervise workers. The last principle is dividing the tasks between managers and workers. This paper will discuss if these scientific management principles are outdated in the study of organizations. I will present the principles and explain their relevance in current organizations. The rule of thumb is a procedure that developed from experience and common sense. It totally ignores scientific knowledge. Taylor argued that for an organization to become more efficient managers had to develop a science of work that is cultivating methods based on a scientific study of those tasks. Morgan (2006) asserts that this was done to determine the most efficient way of doing work. The scientific method would therefore simplify worker s tasks in detail and specify the amount of work needed to do the task and the necessary time to finish that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
