Black Lives Matter Leadership
All the great political movements succeeded due to the leaders behind them who directed the
focus of their supporters to achieve the respective goal. Although, currently the founders of the
Black Lives Matter believe that it is not in the interest of this movement to have a central face, it
is inevitable for this great movement to have a brave leader. Times have significantly changed
since the Civil Rights movement, but Black Lives Matter needs a leader like Malcolm X, who was
outspoken in his ideas so this movement can successfully tackle complex, modern political systems
and achieve its goals.

Race is an artificial social construction rooted in the structural dynamics of exploitation, power
and privilege that was forced upon original residents of colonies at the outset of the expansion of
European capitalism. (Marable) For most Americans, present day America still remains
segregated as a result of discrimination which throughout history has been used in a direct
behavior against African American people. Race according to Marable is an artificial
construction, however, its impacts are real and devastating as it stops the American nation from
maximizing its potential, by discriminating most of the times against the best suited candidates in
various fields. When coupled with social anarchy resulting from racism, it marks the political
tension in the community. Many scholars have argued that race is a critical element in the
formation of political ideology, (Rueter) and it can be backed by evidence from the on going US
presidential race in 2016 for both Democrats and Republicans where race serves as the issue which
would play role in determining the 45th US

Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On Earth s World
In today s atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) amounts to 400 parts per million (ppm), but it hasn t
always been that high, or low, depending on what we are comparing it to. It is a trace gas that is
vital to Earth s atmosphere and has been around since the creation of Earth s first atmosphere,
which occurred shortly after the planet s creation. The advent of Earths second atmosphere
happened when lighter gases such as hydrogen escaped into space or were bound to molecules,
leaving gases like nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases that were the product of volcanism to
make up the majority of the atmosphere. This volcanic activity was fueled by gases that came to
Earth following the late heavy bombardment of huge asteroids . Following... Show more content on

Leading up to the present, levels of CO2 have fluctuated due to geochemical processes such
suspension of the gas in sediment, silicate rock weathering, and volcanism. Also, human activity
plays a large part in carbon deposition into the atmosphere predominantly through the burning of
fossil fuels and the cultivation of livestock. On a drastically larger time scale the carbon cycle is
ever so slightly reducing atmospheric CO2 , which will ultimately bring the concentration down
near zero, causing all life on the planet to be wiped out. The carbon cycle, including both
terrestrial and aquatic processes, is the foundation under which photosynthesis is possible. Aside
from the carbon cycle, CO2 is a key element in many other natural processes and phenomena
such as the Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming . After the advent of the second atmosphere,
the atmosphere had ~100 times as much gas as the current atmosphere , which contained a large
amount of CO2 which is believed to have kept the Earth from freezing over. Over the next few
billion years the water vapor condensed to form oceans and rain that started to absorb CO2.
Eventually 50% of the carbon in the atmosphere would end up suspended in the ocean. This
caused ocean acidification, which is the decrease in the pH level of the ocean. Plate tectonics
played a large role in the gradual evolution of the atmosphere by transferring carbon dioxide to and
from large

Advantages Of CNC Machining
I.INTRODUCTION
C
NC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the use of computers to
control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and
grinders. The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control. On the surface, it
may look like a normal PC controls the machines, but the computer s unique software and control
console are what really sets the system apart for use in CNC machining. Under CNC Machining,
machine tools function through numerical control. A computer program is customized for an object
and the machines are programmed with CNC machining language (called G code) that essentially
controls all features like feed rate, coordination, location ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The program is loaded and finally an operator runs a test of the program to ensure there are no
problems. This trial run is referred to as cutting air and it is an important step because any
mistake with speed and tool position could result in a scraped part or a damaged machine. There
are many advantages to using CNC Machining. The process is more precise than manual
machining, and can be repeated in exactly the same manner over and over again. Because of the
precision possible with CNC Machining, this process can produce complex shapes that would be
almost impossible to achieve with manual machining. CNC Machining is used in the production
of many complex three dimensional shapes. It is because of these qualities that CNC Machining
is used in jobs that need a high level of precision or very repetitive tasks. Other than that, there has
some problem that always occur in CNC machine such as electrical fault, parameter issues, door
and safety interlocks and others. If you are considering a career in CNC Machining, it would be
useful to have a background in mathematics, industrial arts and mechanical drafting, as well as
computer usage. There are many common problem of CNC Machining such as the material burns
on outside edge, the material burns on outside edge, the material burns on internal corners of
mould, the tool is burnt, burnt edges of holes, raised mark along edge of moulding, rough edge,
cutter marks visible, component moves sideways and component not the correct

Medicine and Herbal Remedies Throughout the Sixteenth Century
Shakespeare, self proclaimed poet and renowned playwright, lived in the age of the Renaissance.
More specifically, the time at which the Tudor family ruled England, during these times, there were
deep rooted religious cleansings and ongoing witch hunts, that sought out anyone and everyone that
did not follow suit. Shakespeare (1564 1616A.D.) was born in, and lived through the medical
renaissance, which was the point between 1400 and 1700A.D. that innovated the medicines used in
Europe. These treatments were eventually diffused throughout the world. The most typical
consensus made by medical technicians of the time believed in the body to be maintained up by a
balance of bodily humors (liquids), though during the mid 1500s new methods of... Show more

Melancholy was affiliated with black bile, earth and a cold, dry environment. If a patient was
thought to have an excess of a particular humor, measures would be taken to lessen that value, such
as blood letting (sanguine), dietary changes and bodily purging. In Tudor England, the knowledge
of humors and their use in medicine become widely acknowledged and accepted, and these humors
impact on a person s temperament also became used. Stemming from beliefs in ancient Greece, the
people in that era believed that one s general mood and state of mind was affected by the overall
balance of humors in their body, if a particular humor dominated then the personality it personified
would become present in the individual. Elizabethan people believed that the humors gave off
vapors that traveled to the brain, causing a certain behavioral pattern to surface The humours gave
off vapors which ascended to the brain; an individual s personal characteristics (physical, mental,
moral) were explained by his or her temperament, or the state of that person s humours . Thus, a
person with balanced humors had a balanced disposition. Too much sanguine in a person led to an
optimistic and generally positive attitude, albeit an irresponsible one. Choler made one wrathful and
ambitious. A phlegmatic person had characteristics that were slothful and cowardly. Finally, a
person overwhelmed by melancholy was introspective, gluttonous, and

Over the summer I started watching Shameless . I immediately fell in love with the shows drama

show is. If you haven t watched Shameless , I highly recommend doing so, because the show is
not only entertaining, but it s a wake up call and a reality check on things happening in your own
life.

age...happens more than you think), and once things turn sour, he goes running towards his next

There s also a major focus on addiction. I ve already mentioned Frank is an alcoholic, and he
spends all his money (from scams and disability) on alcohol, and when there s some extra left, he
picks up some crack and whatever other drugs he can get his hands on. His addiction is so bad,
he often blacks out (sometimes for months), and wakes up in another state or country. Lip seems
to be following in Frank s footsteps, especially after his relationship with his professor ends. His
drinking habits get him kicked out of school, and lands him in rehab. After he gets out, he keeps
his drinking habits under control, but eventually starts to spiral out of control when life gets tough.

summer to make extra money. When Monica (the mother) decides to be in the pitcher, she and

The Importance Of Free Speech And The First Amendment
All the time, people are heard protesting about Free Speech , and The First Amendment . What
rights are really protected under the First Amendment according to our Constitution? The
answer may be shocking. In the United States of America, the concept of free speech is widely
called upon to reinforce the legality of offensive spoken words or actions. In reality, not all
speech is protected under the First Amendment. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions,
but where is the line between what opinions are acceptable to be spoken of in public, and what is
inappropriate or too offensive. The true answer lies in the definition of the word public. While
government run agencies such as public universities have little they can do about what students
say, private colleges have virtually no requirements by law. Public universities have very little
say in what students are allowed to say or do so long as their speech and actions are reasonable.
Reasonable is defined as, for the duration of this essay, that they are not directly threatening to any
person or group, they refrain from using fighting words , and they do not take part in slander or
libel. Any restriction of reasonable free speech by a public universityis unconstitutional. While
public universities have requirements put upon them to allow most free speech, private colleges
have no such rules. The only requirements for any private collegeto allow free speech are those put
upon themselves by contract, or in few cases, put upon them by their state. Private colleges are
private so that they may choose which morals and ideals they put forward and deem important.
Although most private universities are not required to allow complete freedom of speech on their
campuses, many add an assurance of free speech or some variant of free speech in their handbook.
Free Speech Zones have become a popular solution to the ever growing problem of the
combination of protesters and easily offended people across the United States. These zones exist in
many places and are especially prevalent on college campuses. The intent of such zones is arguably
good, to ensure that the purpose of universities remains centered on learning. The constitutionality

Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
RESISTANCE TO THE BROKEN PROMISES OF
THE TREATY OF GUADALUPE HIDALGO
Katie Menante Anderson
INTRODUCTION
Human beings, no matter what race or ethnicity or place or time, will not tolerate injustice forever.
Webster s defines injustice as a violation of the right or of the rights of another (Merriam Webster,
1990). The history of the United States is filled with such violations. From the early challenges to
religious freedom in Massachusetts to the broken treaties and systematic removal of Native
Americans from their land to the abominable practice of slavery in the United States, our nation s
reality rarely measures up to the principles and ideals penned by the founding fathers in the
Declaration of Independence and The Bill of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Were these individuals villains or heroes, bandits or patriots, terrorists challenging the authority of
the US Government or freedom fighters defending their own land, culture and ethnicity?
SOCIAL BANDITRY One of the earliest forms of resistance against the American occupation of
the Greater Southwest was social banditry. As individuals realized through personal experiences
that the promises in the treaty were not being upheld they resisted through banditry. Acuna
describes social bandits as individuals who rebel against an injustice and through that rebellion
gain the popular support of their race. They are not necessarily social revolutionaries with goals
of transforming society. These individuals have just had enough (71). Citing the work of British
social historian Eric Hobsbawn, Gilberto Lopez y Rivas explains that social banditry is one of
the most primitive forms of organized social protest and [that it is] a phenomenon almost
universally [identified] with rural conditions where the oppressed has neither developed a
political awareness nor acquired more effective means of social agitation (Lopez y Rivas, 1979,
100). Mexicans living in Texas and the Greater Southwest after the Mexican American War fit into
this description of a rural environment. Moreover, any access they had to US courts and politics

The Art Of Luis Jimenez s Border Crossing
Border Crossing
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see (Edgar Degas). Art can range from
paintings, photos, metal working, abstracts and much more. It can take you places where you re
not and it allows you to interpret things differently from other people. There are many pieces of art
that are placed throughout Iowa State campus, from the art inside of the many halls to the
sculptures and even the buildings that fill campus. These are all just a few pieces of art that have
their own meaning and interpretation. The sculpture Border Crossing, located near MacKay Hall,
is just one of many located throughout campus. This sculpture represents pushing towards a goal
and not giving up no matter the obstacles and that overcoming an obstacle is possible, it also shows
the acceptance of culture. Each piece of art has its own emotions attached to it, the sculpture Border
Crossing is just one of many that helps support the students of Iowa State.
Border Crossing is a sculpture that crafted in 1989 (Blanton). Border Crossing is a totem like
sculpture (Iowa State Collection) that entails a Mexican man crossing the border carrying a
woman on his shoulders. The woman on his shoulders is carrying a baby in her arms, protecting
the infant from the matters of the world. The sculpture was made by a Texasnative, Luis Jimenez,
who was born in El Paso, Texas (Blanton). Luis Jimenez stated that he had wanted to make a piece

The Abc Murders
The ABC Murders Summary and analysis
Summary (Spoiler Alert):
Hastings, Hercule Poirot s partner and assistant, returns to Britain, just as Poirot receives a sinister
letter from an unknown person under the alias ABC. The letter says, that he should look out for
Andover, on the 21st of the month.
Just as stated in the letter, something happens on the 21st. A woman in Andover, named Alice
Asher, turns up dead. On the crime scene an ABC railway guide is found, and Andover is marked.
The police believes that this is just a coincidence, and that the letter and the murder are not
connected.
On the very same day, Poirot receives another letter. This time it tells Poirot, to look out for Bexhill
on the 25th. On the 25th another woman is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poirot thinks the entire case through, and he has a revelation. He gathers everyone to tell the story,
and Franklin, Sir Carmichael Clarkes brother is revealed as the culprit.
Analysis of Hercules Poirot:
Hercules Poirot is a cunning belgian private detective. He is a very plain character, and troughout
the film, he does not undergo any changes to his personality. His plain character is very
characteristic for the british crime fictions. This is aimed, towards keeping the puzzle in the center
of attention.
Poirot would never engage in violence, instead he uses his famous little grey cells to solve the
puzzles. Poirot does not believe in coincidences, which is seen several times in the film. Even
though he is little, he stands tall.
From start to finish Poirot is teaching Hastings about being a detective, and how to catch the real
clues. This is very common in crime fiction, and it tends to happen quite often in crime novels and
films. This also happens in the Sherlock Holmes novels/films, where Sherlock Holmes is teaching
Dr. Watson how to think, and how to observe.
Poirot is very smart and guileful, in the way he plays tricks on the murdered peoples relatives. He
is a man of pride and dignity, and in his own eyes he is the best detective in the world.
Discussion of Van Dine s 20 rules of writing detective stories:
Van Dine s first rule of writing detective stories, says that the reader must have equal opportunity

Analysis Of Wittgenstein s View About The Nature, Limit...
Hayley Berkowitz Linguistic Structure: Wittgenstein s view about the Nature, Limit Function of
Logical Constants Quantifiers. 2. For Ludwig Wittgenstein to really provide us with a thorough
account of propositions he needs to explain the nature of logical constants. Wittgenstein was a
thinker who remained skeptical as to whether logical constants could be representational. For him,
(negations, conditionals, connectives, conjuncts, disjuncts, etc) are not constituents of the
proposition but are instead structural elements of that proposition. The notion that the nature of
logical constants is inherently structural, seems clear in Wittgenstein s reference to them in relation
to punctuation. In 5.4611, Wittgenstein declares that Logical operation signs are punctuations , and
it seems in this sense they must have a syntactical role. With this notion in mind the proposition
that Greg is a lobster , would have the same sense as the proposition that Greg is not a lobster . It s
feasible to assume that the negated proposition has an extra situation or object (the negation) that
goes above and beyond the unnegated proposition. For Wittgenstein however, this is not the case
because negative facts merely account for the non existence of a state of affairs. Therefore, because
not is a structural element (and not a name) it can only be a truth function that reverses the sense of
a proposition. For Wittgenstein the sign and in the sentence Mr. Hsu and Greg float into

The Progressive Movement in the US Essay
In the first article, The Failure of Progressivism by Richard Abrams, he says the progressives mostly
sought to introduce old moral beliefs on Americans by trying to integrate Immigrants by making
them accept the ways of American life. But Abrams states those goals were ruined for important
motives. One being the movement failed because of racism, which was widespread, throughout this
time era. Abrams also considers the new scientific developments concerning culture and race
affected the movement in a relevant manner. Conversely, progressives thought differently and felt
that they need to integrate all cultures to fit it in to the American lifestyle. Abrams goes on to say
that people started coming to the conclusion that cultural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also thought the disreputable events that were publicized by Muckrakers and the antibusiness
emotion made progressivism prosper. Link and McCormick go on to explain we must differentiate
each reform in the progressive movement and examine its reasoning and outcomes afterwards. Like
Abrams, they too believe science affected the reforms and referred to the new knowledge of social
science. Link and McCormick stand by the multiple failures of the progressive movement by
stating, the effort to change so many things all at once, and the grandiose claims made for the
moral and material betterment which would result, meant that disappointments were bound to
occur. Backing up their reason for not entirely blaming the reformers for the failure of progressive
movement because they had attempted alternative methods. Link and McCormick also remind us
that the progressives published their failures for others to see and remark upon. The progressives
recognized each cultural group in the U.S. had different interests, hindering the collaboration of the
nation as a whole. Abrams thought similarly except that our nation was forcing the different
cultures to be more Anglo Protestant. Link and McCormick acknowledge the progressives failed to
remove social clash and their reforms did not complete the intent that they were made for. But the
progressives had small accomplishment and brought major innovations to almost every facet of
public life in the United States. The

o acquiring LG Laptops (option 3.4.) would lead to a small increase, as LG is not one of the big
laptop producers. o expanding in the non PC area via smartphones (option 3.5.) would not do
anything for the current market share, as we would be talking about a different market segment
altogether.
It provides quick and extensive access to a large distribution network of retail and corporate
customers, lowering distribution costs (the same goes for option 3.3., which also brings Lenovo

It provides the possibility of brand capitalization, in the sense that Lenovo would take advantage of
the reputation and customer base of IBM and incorporate them through the acquisition, lowering

Malware Problem Analysis Paper
Problem
Malware, as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, refers to a program that
is covertly inserted into another program with the intent to destroy data, run destructive or intrusive
programs, or otherwise compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of the victim s
data, applications or operating system. (M. K., 2013) This is a threat to all companies with any
type of internet access and/or electronic information storage. That is currently a large number of
both small and big businesses.
Some important terms to take into account here is confidentiality, integrity and availability. These
terms are known as CIA and are the core principles of information security. Malwarewill affect all
three indefinitely if left unchecked. This will not only hurt a company s revenue but will
potentially also hurt their reputation if wide scale enough. Malware is, by Gulf South Tech
Solutions, considered to be the biggest threat to a business. With over 5,000 new malware attacks
every day, the average time to resolve being over 25 days, the average financial cost being $3
million, and over 60% of the websites that infect a computer being legitimate sites that were
compromised makes defense of paramount importance now more than ever. (Gulf South
Technology Solutions, 2015)

Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world with essentially an agricultural based
economy. Water is an absolutely essential element for agriculture. However, Pakistan s inability to

This involves all levels of stakeholder integration to solve the issue of water scarcity.
In order to fix Pakistan problems of water scarcity, one first need to look at its geography, thus
enabling us not only to understand the basic physical system such as water cycle, but also to
determine the physical and cultural characteristics of the region. The other important aspect to
understand is the administrative setup within Pakistan, which basically refers to the political
structure of the governmental setup inside Pakistan. The next key step is to talk about water
management in Pakistan using a theoretical lens to analyze the role of different stakeholders in the
country and problems faced by the water sector.
a) Pakistan s water geography:
If we look at Map 1 below, we see that Pakistan s water topography, basically consisting of four
major rivers, i.e. Indus, Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej. The Indus River is the largest and major river of
Pakistan and runs across the length of the country from north to south. It is considered on all
accounts as the lifeline for the country, for all aspects including agriculture, transport, electricity,
fishing communities as reported by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United
Nations). The Indus River stretches from the Himalayan Mountains in the north to the dry and

How Did Genghis Khan Influence The Descendants Of The...
Genghis Khan and various of his descendants were terribly associated with different unpleasant
stories of conquest and destruction. There is hardly anyone who does not know the name of the
great military leader/conqueror who managed to take over a huge part of the Eurasian continent
and who kept the power over those lands efficiently for a few centuries. Ata Malik Juvaini was a
Persian historian from Khorasan whose account of the Mongol conquest of Asia is one of the few
primary sources on the expansion of Chinggis Khan s empire.he presented one of the most
invaluable material on warfare, statecraft, religion, ritual and kinship about the Mongols, Genghis

Essay On Touchscreen Media
Critically discuss the key arguments in the debate about the potential impact of touchscreen media
use on young children s development.
Touchscreen media is a rapidly developing industry, such that most people use a touchscreen media
device everyday (Cheung, Bedford, Saez de Urabain, Karmiloff Smith Smith, 2017). Whilst
touchscreen media is not a brand new phenomenon, it is ever changing and constantly developing.
Little research has been done to assess the longer term developmental implications of toddlers using
touchscreens (Bedford, Saez de Urabain, Cheung, Karmiloff Smith Smith, 2016). Whilst Bedford et
al. (2016) may argue that touchscreen media does not effect a child s development, research by
Cheung et al. (2017) suggests that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this suggestion, their findings do suggest a positive association between sleep and media
use even amongst toddlers, and therefore more research would need to be done in this field to
reliably determine whether touchscreen media use has the same effect on sleep for both toddlers
and adolescents.
Furthermore, research is beginning to be conducted into the effects touchscreen media has on the
physical development of children (Howie, Coenen, Campbell, Ranelli Straker, 2017). Howie et al.
(2017) used a sample 3 5 year old children, who used touchscreen media for approximately 1.5
hours per day. The aim of this research was to see whether there would be key differences in the
posture or muscle movement in children who used touchscreen tablets in comparison to those who
either watched television or played with non screen toys. The key findings did indicate differences
in posture, muscle activity and the amount of time spent sitting and exercising between children in
the touchscreen condition compared to those in the traditional non screen toy condition. Howie et
al. (2017) acknowledge that on one hand, it can be seen as positive that touchscreen media
increases posture movement as the different variation in positions could be beneficial in helping to

The Brooklyn Nets Offseason: A Sensible Plan for the Future The Brooklyn Nets have made a
name for blockbuster deals over the last few summers. Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has not been
shy of spending money and laughing at the luxury tax if it meant making a contender. This summer,
the Nets have been singing a different tune; making moves to save money and diminish
expectations. Addition by Subtraction The biggest move the Nets made this offseason was letting
go of All Star point guard Deron Williams. The Williams experiment did not work and it was
rumored that he didn t get along with coaches and teammates. The Nets wanted to get younger and
more athletic, and with Williams gone, they were on the right path to doing that. The Nets used...

Plus, taking back both Haywood and Varejao s contracts would have kept the team near the
luxury tax line. If their gamble pays off and Johnson plays well, they can try again in moving

Students Should get Payed for Good Grades

Payed for excelling at school this percent would decrease greatly. At school, students work just as

students would be encouraged to work harder and try more. Also during post secondary school
students would not have to worry about getting jobs through the school year and focus on their

Schools have students working every part of their brain throughout the whole day. Doing this

The Alchemist By John Coelho
As soon as you begin to pursue a dream, your life wakes up and everything has meaning. Barbara
Sher s quote illustrates Paulo Coelho s attempt in The Alchemist to raise the idea that individuals
should pursue their Personal Legend and individual dreams. Coelhio uses a multitude of literary
elements such as symbolism and setting as described by Thomas C. Foster in How to Read
Literature Like a Professor. In The Alchemist, Coelho uses his characters as symbols to manifest
his overall theme to engage in following your personal legend. The way Coelho s illustrates his
theme throughout his work can be interpreted as both realistic and problematic. Throughout

This symbolism becomes apparent while Santiago observes his flock and notices that the sheep
never make any decisions and are only concerned with getting food and water. The sheep live
simplistic lifestyles, just coexisting without making any hard decisions. Along with symbolism,
Coelho uses the setting of his novel to build on his belief. The Alchemist takes place in a desert,
where Santiago experiences unique difficulties when pursuing his personal legend. The desert
becomes a metaphor for the obstacles and hardships that stand in the way of achieving one s
dreams. The importance of the setting of a literary work is emphasized by Foster when he states,
Geography can also define or even develop a character (175). Coelho uses both symbolism and
setting to support his overall belief of pursuing ones personal legend. Symbolism in The Alchemist
develops the idea individuals should pursue their dreams or they will live a safe, boring life rather
than fufilling their soul purpose in the world. Setting is used to signify that in pursuing your
legend, you may face difficulties, but you should never stop pursuing your dreams as Santiago
continued his pursuit. Not only does Coelho use symbolism and setting to further prove his theme,
he uses his characters to manifest his notion. Santiago is the ideal individual who listens to omens
in order to understand the language of the soul of the world and achieve his personal legend.

Diversity Is The Equal Coexistence Of Diverse Cultures,...
Introduction In America, past and present, we are faced with many challenges pertaining to
diversity. Diversity is defined as the presence of human beings with perceived or actual differences
based on a variety of human characteristics (Koppelman 2014). A challenge of diversity faced is on
American Education. Education is most important because our future society depends on it and if
we did not have it our future would most certainly fail. Learning and schooling is critical for
everyone to gain knowledge and continue leading our diverse society forward into the right
direction. Since diversity is a common issue relating to students who have gone through these
situations there have been many intense debates and legal cases (Dey 2008). Education in America
needs to have more pluralism, where all diverse groups can have the same mutual respect. Pluralism
is the equal coexistence of diverse cultures, institutions, and/or individuals within mutually
supportive relationship within the boundaries of one nation (Koppelman 2009). In a pluralistic
society all the groups in the society should be taught about each other s diverse cultures, historical
events, and so on in schoolso it can all be fair. Some parents and teachers felt that there were no
benefits for the students to learn about multicultural education (Koppelman 2009). There are so
many things that can be done to correct the challenge of diversity to American education and so
many reasons why there are challenges in

Ethical Issues
Autonomy The ideal of self determination is the basis for autonomy. It is important that a
patient be allowed to decide what should be done to his or her own body. In other words, nobody
else has the right to assert their power over another. Likewise, a physician should be allowed to
decide not to perform a procedure if doing so would conflict with his or her values. In the Cruzan
case, Nancy s autonomy by way of her parents substituted judgment was overridden in favor of the
State of Missouri s policy to preserve life. Although the Supreme Court did not deny that Nancy had
the right to refuse nutrition/hydration, there was not enough clear and convincing evidence to

The State did not actually contest Nancy s right to refuse treatment. The State wanted to make
absolutely certain that there was a standard of evidence available to protect the patient in the case
that the surrogates were not acting on behalf of the patient s wishes. Furthermore, disrespecting
Nancy s autonomy would have done more harm than good to the profession of medicine. Patients
want reassurance that the physician will not override their decisions in an act of paternalism (as
well intended as the physician may be). Lastly, the physician may have a conflict with withdrawing
treatment, but he or she must distinguish the difference between withholding a desired treatment
versus withdrawing a treatment that is unwanted.
Competency When discussing ethical issues concerning health care, competency refers not only to
the ability of a patient to make a decision, but also to the ability of the patient to understand that
decision. Included in comprehending the decision is also the patients understanding the
consequences of his or her decision on both oneself and others. The determination of patient
competency is not measured on any standard scale, but rather a common sense determination made
by the physician. In order to make that determination, the physician must realize that the patient
need not understand necessarily how the treatment works, but rather the consequences of accepting
various treatments or refusing

How The Roman Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful...
Conversion in Medieval Iberia can invoke ambivalent feelings. Christians originally wanted to
convert Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea,
nevertheless, evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through
violence and compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust
their motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles
did help alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and
Muslims during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from
the Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I
am also going to compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent
means. This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Churchs stance on peaceful
conversion was overcome by local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s
religionto another religion. During the twelfth to fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of
Jews and Muslims converted to Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination
of dangerous enemies and the ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as
the chosen people, as they believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them, and formed a

Laurryn Hill Tell Him Analysis
The idea of love in relationships has become more popularized throughout the decades. Though the
term love is ambiguous and can vary from person to person, Sternberg s Triangular Theory of Love
depicts various forms of love based on passion, intimacy, and commitment alone and intersecting to
form an intermediate form of love. To illustrate, in the song Tell Him by Lauryn Hill, a combination
of intimacy and commitment creates companionate love seen between Hill and God.
Companionate love is defined as the affection and tenderness we feel for those with whom our lives
are deeply intertwined (Hatfield and Rapson, 1993). Companionate love can be seen in non couple
relationships as it excludes passion (infatuation) and exemplifies a relationship built on deep

Throughout the song, references to biblical verses like the verse Now I may have faith to make

Psychological Themes In Cat People
What makes Cat People terrifying is not so much of what you see, but rather what you don t see.
The real terror comes from the shadows, sounds, and ancient lore. Despite the film s extremely

that had already been changed and adapted to another regions needs. Although it may have come
from this already transformed version of Latin it doesn t take away from the fact that it still came
from a true version of Latin (Wright). Portuguese contains some of the most basic pieces of Latin
such as the use of masculine, feminine, and neuter nouns and verbs. Portuguese, along with the
other Romance Languages, use a system of different grammatical meanings and relationships to
create sentences where the subject and verb agree not only with tense but gender, mood, person,

Task 2 Failures to Protect Individuals Essay
TASK 2
Identify two reports on serious failures to protect individuals (ADULTS) from abuse. Write an
account that describes the unsafe practices in the reviews. Look on Google under UK failures in
adult care
Report 1.
In March 2002, a 30 year old woman with learning disabilities was admitted to Borders General
Hospital in Scotland with multiple injuries as a result of sustained physical and sexual assaults.
The abuse had been carried out at home and was perpetrated by three men, one of whom was her
carer. The case of the vulnerable adult is the term that the individual involved has asked to be used.
Her identity is protected under rules giving anonymity to victims of rape.
The woman had made allegations against one of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If all seemed well they could have arranged visits for support for the girl for example.
Knowing or finding out weather a person is able to fully understand when they have a disability
is a difficult thing to do. When the girl s mother passed away the perpetrator was allowed to
become the girls carer and the abuse continued. Before this man was allowed to become the girls
carer agencies/social services should have fully investigated the man s past, he should have
gone through interviews and the agencies could have observed/investigated the man s and girl s
relation/friendship. There would have been no harm for the agencies to go and check on the
woman years later and keep on top of visits because if they did this the signs of abuse would have
been clear such as dehydration and lack of food, poor clothing, torn genital area and marks on her
face and body.
Report 2.
NHS staff persistently abused a blind and deaf man with a low IQ by tying him up for 16 hours a
day, government inspectors revealed today in a damning report on services for people with learning
disabilities.
Carers employed by the Cornwall Partnership NHS trust bound his arms together with cloth
bandages and fastened them to his bed or wheelchair, to stop him slapping himself in the face.
They found evidence in personnel files

Summary Of A Public Service Announcement
A Public Service Announcement (PSA) pops up on television of a young woman, frail to the
bones, staring at you with beaten eyes, devastated by poverty. The next scene of the PSA shows the
same women handcuffed and being led through the gates of the local county jail. This scene plays
out everyday of prisoners that have come from from difficult, impoverished backgrounds. Bryan
Stevenson chronicled the lives of numerous povertystricken prisoners during his time as a non
profit lawyer in Montgomery, Alabama. Co founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, Stevenson
focused on how his organization could help change the unjust and discriminatory justice system. In
Bryan Stevenson s book Just Mercy, poverty affects the lives of those sentenced for criminal
activity due to a lack of adequate and available legal, social, and medical resources.
Stevenson described many impoverished families who could not afford lawyers that had the
background and knowledge needed to try their cases successfully. Without the effectiveness of a
strong attorney, prisoners were forced to plead guilty due to an inadequate defense and
information provided by their lawyers. In addition to lack of information given, lawyers were not
spending adequate time on the poverty related cases. With a quick trial time and all the
information not being exposed, condemned prisoners were forced to go for a guilty plea. Bryan
Stevenson got a firsthand look at unjust resources the impoverished prisoners

The Stigma Of The World Health Organization
Erasing the Stigma According to the World Health Organization, One in four people in the world
will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. This means that
there are diseases that exist that can affect anyone in the world, but because an ignorant society
dismisses it as less serious or something one can control, less and less people seek help. The brain,
as complicated and important as it is, can in no way be perfect. Mental Healthillnesses are not less
serious or any less treatable than any other type of illness. Mental illnesshas always been present in
history, first seen in ancient Greece, and has not, until recently, been connected to biological factors
along with the emphasis on thoughts, emotions and dreams as keys for it. Psychoanalytical therapy,
or the talking cures approach, first came along with Sigmund Freud, one of the forefathers of
psychology, and is still being used today(Public Broadcasting Service). However, the other half of
it, which is deals with the biological aspects, is more recent and not as well known. Eric Kandel,
MD, a Nobel Prize laureate and professor of brain science at Columbia University, believes it s all
about biology. All mental processes are brain processes, and therefore all disorders of mental
functioning are biological diseases (Bollinger). This contrast is a significant factor for the lack of
understanding and in result the lack of people getting help. The uncertainty of whether one s

The Impact Of Television On American Society
The invention of television has impacted American society positively, because it helps spread
information faster and influences the way people think about important social issues. It is
estimated that about 15 million Americans watch the Cable News Network, CNN, at least once
a day and millions more tune in abroad (Stark). In the news culture, information has become
presented to the public quicker throughout the years. This causes news to be digested faster as
well. In fact, events, such as election results or political choices, have become frequently
analyzed before they even take place. For example, the effects of Clinton s bombing of Iraq, in the
summer of 1996, were being explored before a weapon had even been fired (Stark). The spread...

When television was first developed, entertainment was not one of the main priorities.
Throughout the years, however, people began to sit and watch television just for that reason.
Soon came the development of special programs, sitcoms, and even reality television which
served as entertainment purposes. Throughout the years, entertainment on television has
become much more popular. It has become an important part of our entertainment today. The
average amount of hours per day that television is on in an average U.S. home is six hours and
forty seven minutes (Herr). In those six hours, there are a variety of shows that can be seen, just
for entertainment purposes. Sumner Redstone, president and CEO of the major media company
Viacom, quotes, I am very skeptical of this talk of 500 channels. I just don t know what s going
to play on them ( 1920 s 1960 s Television ). Nowadays, however, it is extremely common to scroll
through television channels and always end up finding something interesting. Not only is there
a large variety of shows that Americans can now watch, it is more convenient than driving to
movies, concerts, sporting events, and plays and it is cheaper as well. With modern day
television people do not have to get dressed up and drive to see what they could be watching on
their own TV sets at home. This is why television companies have adapted to meet the needs of
the American people by supplying access to all of these events. This past summer television again
proved its convenience for entertainment, as many Americans were able to sit back and watch the
Olympics in their own homes while still being able to get the feel of what is it like there.
Television also brings communities together. Many neighborhood block parties revolve around
watching the latest episode of a show. When the super bowl comes around, there are parties

How to Overcome a Fear of Change Essay example
Thought processes and relationship dynamics are fundamental if change is to be successful.
(Lynco Assoc.) People fear change because it pushes them out of their comfort zone. One of the
greatest fears in the world is the fear of the unknown. Although fear can create a large amount of
energy in a person, you can choose to use that energy in a positive manner and take control of the
situation. Focus on your convictions; be confident in your abilities and be proud of the work that
you do. Do not allow insecurities to damage your focus. Only you can set your moral compass.
Make an effort to see change as an opportunity to grow in a different direction and develop new
strengths and insights regardless of external influences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Encourage an open dialog with your workers about any concerns they may have about their
responsibilities and performance; respect their privacy and do not postpone giving praise; make
your employees feel they are part of the system by asking for suggestions or solutions. If you
apply these changes consistently, they will reap rewards in the way your workers perform and the
way they perceive you. People want to be treated honestly and fairly. Even if there is bad news
concerning the company, share that with your employees as soon as possible. Do not let them hear
it on the street. The proverbial grapevine is very efficient. through the media. The more your
employees know they can trust and respect you, the better a company you will have (Sykes. n.d.).
The intrinsic rewards of a project are often more important than the material rewards and
recognition. I think there is more value in trying to engage people than reward them (Sky. N.d.).
The word reward implies a hierarchy and you would not reward a superior. You would not reward
a friend. You reward those beneath you and thus a reward is a subtle reminder of their position.
If you really want to your staff to put out their best efforts, do not try to do so by buying their
enthusiasm.
I think it is a mark of a leader to encourage feedback from his reports. Make it an opportunity for
exchange of information and ideas and you may be surprised. You may have an employee who
thought his opinion

Sexual Assault Has Been The People V. Turner
It would be wrong to say violence ends when you turn the television off or act as if injustice didn
t exist anymore, but if you reflect back on 2016 so far, one of the biggest topics that often
dominates the news and blogosphere concerned the high frequency of assaults on college
campuses around the country. In the place where many young adults begin to learn who they are
and who they want to be while enjoying a comfortable freedom and safety among their peers
discovered freedom and safety could not always be guaranteed.
One of the most discussed topics surrounded sexual assault has been the People v. Turner. Brock
Turner was an undergraduate student at Stanford University in Northern California when he was
apprehended by two Swedish international students who witnessed Turner sexually assaulting an
unconscious woman.
The students who stopped Turner from continuing to assault the young woman stated that they
intervened because they could tell that the woman was clearly unconscious. Turner was then
subsequently arrested, charged and indicted on two counts of felony assault and one count of
attempted rape. However, it was the consequences that Turner faced for his actions which have
upset many.
After a jury found Turner guilty of assault and attempted rape Judge Aaron Persky of the Santa
Clara County Superior Court sentenced Turner to a meek six months confinement in the Santa
Clara County jail followed by three months of probation. After serving three months in the Santa

The Life and Work of Confucius Philosophy Essay Confucius
The Life And Work Of Confucius Philosophy Essay
Confucius (551 479 BCE), was a thinker, political figure, educator and founder of the Ru School
of Chinese thought. Confucius was born at Shang ping, in the country of Lu. His given name was
Kong, but his disciples called him Kong fu tse, (i.e. Kong the Master, or Teacher.) His father
passed away when he was only three years old. Confucius mother Yan she raised him. During his
younger years Confucius showed a love of learning, and an expression of awe for the ancient laws
of his country.
Confucius was only nineteen years old when he married, but he divorced his wife after only four
years of marriage so that he could have more time for his study and the performance of his public

Some have argued that, because of the text s inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought, there
is much in the Analects that is non Confucian and should be discarded as a basis for understanding
the thought of Confucius. Benjamin Schwartz cautions us against such radical measures.
While textual criticism based on rigorous philological and historic analysis is crucial, and while the
later sections [of the Analects] do contain late materials, the type of textual criticism that is based
on considerations of alleged logical inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought must be viewed
with great suspicion. . . . While none of us comes to such an enterprise without deep laid
assumptions about necessary logical relations and compatibilities, we should at least hold before
ourselves the constant injunction to mistrust all our unexamined preconceptions on these matters
when dealing with comparative thought. (The World of Thought in Ancient China, p. 61)
Confucius philosophy was predominately a moral and political one. It was founded on the belief
that heaven and earth coexist in harmony and balanced strength while maintaining a perpetual
dynamism. Human beings, he taught, are sustained by these conditions and must strive to emulate
the cosmic model.

Hope And Love Through Adoption
Hope and Love Through Adoption
The benefits for both the child and the birth parents in an open adoption are boundless. Adoption
is a complex process that ultimately results in an awaiting family receiving the baby they have
hoped for. Thousands of children are placed in an adoptive family every year. The child, from the
moment they are handed into the arms of their new family, will grow up just like any other but
their lives will also be forever changed. After the child has been adopted, depending on the type of
adoption, the birth family can still stay in touch with the adoptive family and relationships can
develop. Adoptees, birthparents, and adoptive parents can benefit in unexpected ways by
developing a relationship through open ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cooperation of both the biological and adoptive parents is key to nourishing the child and to
maintaining that beneficial relationship.
Closed adoption is almost the polar opposite to open adoption. Closed adoption is when the birth
parents seal their personal information and have no personal contact with the adoptive parents or
the child. The adoptive parents and the child cannot gain access to any personal identifying
information unless the biological parents unseal the records or the child meets the age required.
This form of adoption is extremely restrictive and often leaves the child wondering about their past
and why they were adopted. Most children are left with various questions that cannot be answered
due to maintaining the privacy of the birth parents. Although closed adoption can keep the adoptee
and the adoptive parents safe, if the birth parents were dangerous in any way, most children have to
wait until they are adults to search for information that may still be restricted. Some birth parents
eventually unseal the adoption files but request to not be contacted. Closed adoption can have as
many restrictions as the birth parents decided.
Within open and closed adoptions the rights and laws may vary. The rights for adoptees are
different than the rights for the birth parents. In several states, new laws are being passed in order
to give the adoptees information that they are looking for. Melanie Burney discusses in one of her

Transmission Replacement Research Paper
The short answer to this is no, almost certainly not. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that a
busted transmission will inevitably be expensive, regardless of how you decide to handle it.
Transmissions are complicated but essential. Repairing or replacing one is always pricey, buying a
new car would be expensive as well but just because your transmissionis damaged doesn t mean
you should discard the entire car. The situation may not be as bad as you think.
On average, replacing a car s transmission can range from $1800 to $3500, which makes it one of
the most expensive things your car could possible require. However, it s still probably cheaper than
an entirely new car. If your price estimate for a transmission replacement falls on the upper end of
that scale, it s either because you drive a high end car, or you need a total rebuild following a
massive mechanical breakdown. If neither of those situations applies to you, the cost to replace
your transmission will likely be on the lower end of the scale, which makes buying a replacement
a more sound financial decision than buying a new car. If you drive a car with a manual transmission
, you may be able to fix the problem by replacing your clutch, which will probably cost you $1000
to $1500. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As long as your mechanic makes sure that a used transmission won t pose problems to your car,
you should opt for used over new. You can also consider rebuilding the transmission yourself to

project that saves you the time and money of shopping for a new

known as Broadway. Here, theaters line the famous street for which the district was named, and
introduce the world to new stage productions, as well as performing long running favorites. Prior to
the Broadway theater district, the first playhouse in the city was established in the 1700s on Nassau
Street east of Broadway. The venue was humble and primarily produced Shakespearean plays. After

Rise Of Athens Essay
In the 5th century BC the city of Athens is growing rapidly. The city of Goddess Athena will
succeed under the leadership of the famous Pericles, to experience the greatest glory that a city
would ever know. Pericles will be the one who will sign it and through his politics Athens will
enter the so called Golden Age .
He was the one who actually transformed Athens from a city state to a metropolis and gradually to
an empire. (Pericles, 2009)
All started with the Delian League which rendered Athens a dominant in the Hellenic area. As soon
as the treasury of the League was located in Athens there was a sudden development in many areas
including, constructions, trade, arts and culture. He had also made many social reformations
allowing citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spartans were terrified of Athens evolution and were looking for a cause to interfere.
That cause will eventually come by the Corfiots.
The naval battle in Sivota in 433 BC will mark the beginning of the Peloponnesian War that lasted
for 27 years. (Ancient Warfare, 2008) At the beginning of the war the Athenians had managed to
keep Spartans away, but a sudden plague resulted in the death of a major number of Athenians,
including Pericles himself. Soon enough his strategies were abandoned and as none of his
processes had the ability to lead the army.
The next day found Athens under the Spartan Sovereignty. The Peloponnesian War managed to
radically change the flow of history. It was probably the most destructive and those who took part
in it didn t remain unaffected. At the same it signed the end of democracy and the Golden Age.
Although the Peloponnesian War was the reason for the end of the Athenian Golden Age it would
be unfair to blame only the Spartans. Warfare was a usual thing in the ancient times as there was
much competition between city states. If we take into account the rule of rise and fall, the end of
the Golden Age would be inevitable and that was proved by the fact that when the Peloponnesian
War was over the new force in the Hellenic area, the Macedonians conquered the whole Greece,
establishing a new form of government, the

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
In today s society, it is possible for a woman to achieve nearly anything; however, for a woman of
yesterday s society, bringing world wide recognition to the many faces of prejudice is an
accomplishment of its own. Author Harper Lee has had the honor to accomplish just that through
her novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, a moving and inspirational story about a young girl learning the
difference between the good and the bad of the world. In the small town of Monroeville,
Alabama, Nelle Harper Lee was born on April 28, 1926. Growing up, Harper Lee had three
siblings: two sisters and an older brother. She and her siblings grew up modestly. Even though
money was not as much of a problem for her family as it was for others of their time, her father
never did spoil her and her siblings. Lee and her brother attended a public grammar school in
Monroe County, and Harper Lee continued to further her education after her high school
graduation. She attended Huntingdon College for a year and then transferred to the University of
Alabama at Tuscaloosa where she studied law from 1945 to 1949. While she was at the University
of Alabama, she was also an exchange student at Oxford University in England for a year.
Harper Lee always had a passion for writing. She wrote articles and satires for her college
newspaper. Months before completing her law degree, Lee moved to New York to pursue a
writing career. Her first job was as an airlines reservations clerk. Although she never stopped writing

Although, currently the founders of the Black Lives Matter believe that it is not in the interest of this movement to have a central face, it is inevitable for this great movement to have a brave leader. Times have significantly changed since the Civil Rights movement, but Black Lives Matter needs a leader like Malcolm X, who was outspoken in his ideas so this movement can successfully tackle complex, modern political systems and achieve its goals. a)About Black Lives Matter movement #BlackLivesMatter was created in 2012 in wake of Trayvon Martin s murder, when instead of George Zimmerman who ... Race is an artificial social construction rooted in the structural dynamics of exploitation, power and privilege that was forced upon original residents of colonies at the outset of the expansion of European capitalism. (Marable) For most Americans, present day America still remains segregated as a result of discrimination which throughout history has been used in a direct behavior against African American people. Race according to Marable is an artificial construction, however, its impacts are real and devastating as it stops the American nation from maximizing its potential, by discriminating most of the times against the best suited candidates in various fields. When coupled with social anarchy resulting from racism, it marks the political tension in the community. Many scholars have argued that race is a critical element in the formation of political ideology, (Rueter) and it can be backed by evidence from the on going US presidential race in 2016 for both Democrats and Republicans where race serves as the issue which would play role in determining the 45th US ... • 4. Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On Earth s World In today s atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) amounts to 400 parts per million (ppm), but it hasn t always been that high, or low, depending on what we are comparing it to. It is a trace gas that is vital to Earth s atmosphere and has been around since the creation of Earth s first atmosphere, which occurred shortly after the planet s creation. The advent of Earths second atmosphere happened when lighter gases such as hydrogen escaped into space or were bound to molecules, leaving gases like nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases that were the product of volcanism to make up the majority of the atmosphere. This volcanic activity was fueled by gases that came to Earth following the late heavy bombardment of huge asteroids . Following... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leading up to the present, levels of CO2 have fluctuated due to geochemical processes such suspension of the gas in sediment, silicate rock weathering, and volcanism. Also, human activity plays a large part in carbon deposition into the atmosphere predominantly through the burning of fossil fuels and the cultivation of livestock. On a drastically larger time scale the carbon cycle is ever so slightly reducing atmospheric CO2 , which will ultimately bring the concentration down near zero, causing all life on the planet to be wiped out. The carbon cycle, including both terrestrial and aquatic processes, is the foundation under which photosynthesis is possible. Aside from the carbon cycle, CO2 is a key element in many other natural processes and phenomena such as the Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming . After the advent of the second atmosphere, the atmosphere had ~100 times as much gas as the current atmosphere , which contained a large amount of CO2 which is believed to have kept the Earth from freezing over. Over the next few billion years the water vapor condensed to form oceans and rain that started to absorb CO2. Eventually 50% of the carbon in the atmosphere would end up suspended in the ocean. This caused ocean acidification, which is the decrease in the pH level of the ocean. Plate tectonics played a large role in the gradual evolution of the atmosphere by transferring carbon dioxide to and from large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Advantages Of CNC Machining I.INTRODUCTION C NC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the use of computers to control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and grinders. The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control. On the surface, it may look like a normal PC controls the machines, but the computer s unique software and control console are what really sets the system apart for use in CNC machining. Under CNC Machining, machine tools function through numerical control. A computer program is customized for an object and the machines are programmed with CNC machining language (called G code) that essentially controls all features like feed rate, coordination, location ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The program is loaded and finally an operator runs a test of the program to ensure there are no problems. This trial run is referred to as cutting air and it is an important step because any mistake with speed and tool position could result in a scraped part or a damaged machine. There are many advantages to using CNC Machining. The process is more precise than manual machining, and can be repeated in exactly the same manner over and over again. Because of the precision possible with CNC Machining, this process can produce complex shapes that would be almost impossible to achieve with manual machining. CNC Machining is used in the production of many complex three dimensional shapes. It is because of these qualities that CNC Machining is used in jobs that need a high level of precision or very repetitive tasks. Other than that, there has some problem that always occur in CNC machine such as electrical fault, parameter issues, door and safety interlocks and others. If you are considering a career in CNC Machining, it would be useful to have a background in mathematics, industrial arts and mechanical drafting, as well as computer usage. There are many common problem of CNC Machining such as the material burns on outside edge, the material burns on outside edge, the material burns on internal corners of mould, the tool is burnt, burnt edges of holes, raised mark along edge of moulding, rough edge, cutter marks visible, component moves sideways and component not the correct ... More specifically, the time at which the Tudor family ruled England, during these times, there were deep rooted religious cleansings and ongoing witch hunts, that sought out anyone and everyone that did not follow suit. Shakespeare (1564 1616A.D.) was born in, and lived through the medical renaissance, which was the point between 1400 and 1700A.D. that innovated the medicines used in Europe. If a patient was thought to have an excess of a particular humor, measures would be taken to lessen that value, such as blood letting (sanguine), dietary changes and bodily purging. In Tudor England, the knowledge of humors and their use in medicine become widely acknowledged and accepted, and these humors impact on a person s temperament also became used. Stemming from beliefs in ancient Greece, the people in that era believed that one s general mood and state of mind was affected by the overall balance of humors in their body, if a particular humor dominated then the personality it personified would become present in the individual. Elizabethan people believed that the humors gave off vapors that traveled to the brain, causing a certain behavioral pattern to surface The humours gave off vapors which ascended to the brain; an individual s personal characteristics (physical, mental, moral) were explained by his or her temperament, or the state of that person s humours . Thus, a person with balanced humors had a balanced disposition. Too much sanguine in a person led to an optimistic and generally positive attitude, albeit an irresponsible one. After months of begging, I ve finally convinced my roommate to start watching. While I ve seen every episode, I m watching again and realizing how important the show is. If you haven t watched Shameless , I highly recommend doing so, because the show is not only entertaining, but it s a wake up call and a reality check on things happening in your own life. There s also a major focus on addiction. I ve already mentioned Frank is an alcoholic, and he spends all his money (from scams and disability) on alcohol, and when there s some extra left, he picks up some crack and whatever other drugs he can get his hands on. His addiction is so bad, he often blacks out (sometimes for months), and wakes up in another state or country. • 8. The Importance Of Free Speech And The First Amendment All the time, people are heard protesting about Free Speech , and The First Amendment . What rights are really protected under the First Amendment according to our Constitution? The answer may be shocking. In the United States of America, the concept of free speech is widely called upon to reinforce the legality of offensive spoken words or actions. In reality, not all speech is protected under the First Amendment. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but where is the line between what opinions are acceptable to be spoken of in public, and what is inappropriate or too offensive. The true answer lies in the definition of the word public. While government run agencies such as public universities have little they can do about what students say, private colleges have virtually no requirements by law. Public universities have very little say in what students are allowed to say or do so long as their speech and actions are reasonable. Reasonable is defined as, for the duration of this essay, that they are not directly threatening to any person or group, they refrain from using fighting words , and they do not take part in slander or libel. Any restriction of reasonable free speech by a public universityis unconstitutional. While public universities have requirements put upon them to allow most free speech, private colleges have no such rules. The only requirements for any private collegeto allow free speech are those put upon themselves by contract, or in few cases, put upon them by their state. Private colleges are private so that they may choose which morals and ideals they put forward and deem important. Although most private universities are not required to allow complete freedom of speech on their campuses, many add an assurance of free speech or some variant of free speech in their handbook. Free Speech Zones have become a popular solution to the ever growing problem of the combination of protesters and easily offended people across the United States. These zones exist in many places and are especially prevalent on college campuses. The intent of such zones is arguably good, to ensure that the purpose of universities remains centered on learning. Webster s defines injustice as a violation of the right or of the rights of another (Merriam Webster, 1990). The history of the United States is filled with such violations. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Were these individuals villains or heroes, bandits or patriots, terrorists challenging the authority of the US Government or freedom fighters defending their own land, culture and ethnicity? SOCIAL BANDITRY One of the earliest forms of resistance against the American occupation of the Greater Southwest was social banditry. As individuals realized through personal experiences that the promises in the treaty were not being upheld they resisted through banditry. Acuna describes social bandits as individuals who rebel against an injustice and through that rebellion gain the popular support of their race. They are not necessarily social revolutionaries with goals of transforming society. These individuals have just had enough (71). Citing the work of British social historian Eric Hobsbawn, Gilberto Lopez y Rivas explains that social banditry is one of the most primitive forms of organized social protest and [that it is] a phenomenon almost universally [identified] with rural conditions where the oppressed has neither developed a political awareness nor acquired more effective means of social agitation (Lopez y Rivas, 1979, 100). Mexicans living in Texas and the Greater Southwest after the Mexican American War fit into this description of a rural environment. Moreover, any access they had to US courts and politics was undermined by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Art can range from paintings, photos, metal working, abstracts and much more. It can take you places where you re not and it allows you to interpret things differently from other people. There are many pieces of art that are placed throughout Iowa State campus, from the art inside of the many halls to the sculptures and even the buildings that fill campus. These are all just a few pieces of art that have their own meaning and interpretation. The sculpture Border Crossing, located near MacKay Hall, is just one of many located throughout campus. This sculpture represents pushing towards a goal and not giving up no matter the obstacles and that overcoming an obstacle is possible, it also shows the acceptance of culture. Each piece of art has its own emotions attached to it, the sculpture Border Crossing is just one of many that helps support the students of Iowa State. Border Crossing is a sculpture that crafted in 1989 (Blanton). Poirot thinks the entire case through, and he has a revelation. He gathers everyone to tell the story, and Franklin, Sir Carmichael Clarkes brother is revealed as the culprit. Analysis of Hercules Poirot: Hercules Poirot is a cunning belgian private detective. He is a very plain character, and troughout the film, he does not undergo any changes to his personality. His plain character is very characteristic for the british crime fictions. This is aimed, towards keeping the puzzle in the center of attention. Poirot would never engage in violence, instead he uses his famous little grey cells to solve the puzzles. Poirot does not believe in coincidences, which is seen several times in the film. Even though he is little, he stands tall. From start to finish Poirot is teaching Hastings about being a detective, and how to catch the real clues. This is very common in crime fiction, and it tends to happen quite often in crime novels and films. • 13. Analysis Of Wittgenstein s View About The Nature, Limit... Hayley Berkowitz Linguistic Structure: Wittgenstein s view about the Nature, Limit Function of Logical Constants Quantifiers. 2. For Ludwig Wittgenstein to really provide us with a thorough account of propositions he needs to explain the nature of logical constants. Wittgenstein was a thinker who remained skeptical as to whether logical constants could be representational. For him, (negations, conditionals, connectives, conjuncts, disjuncts, etc) are not constituents of the proposition but are instead structural elements of that proposition. The notion that the nature of logical constants is inherently structural, seems clear in Wittgenstein s reference to them in relation to punctuation. In 5.4611, Wittgenstein declares that Logical operation signs are punctuations , and it seems in this sense they must have a syntactical role. With this notion in mind the proposition that Greg is a lobster , would have the same sense as the proposition that Greg is not a lobster . It s feasible to assume that the negated proposition has an extra situation or object (the negation) that goes above and beyond the unnegated proposition. For Wittgenstein however, this is not the case because negative facts merely account for the non existence of a state of affairs. Therefore, because not is a structural element (and not a name) it can only be a truth function that reverses the sense of a proposition. For Wittgenstein the sign and in the sentence Mr. Hsu and Greg float into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Link and McCormick stand by the multiple failures of the progressive movement by stating, the effort to change so many things all at once, and the grandiose claims made for the moral and material betterment which would result, meant that disappointments were bound to occur. Diversity is defined as the presence of human beings with perceived or actual differences based on a variety of human characteristics (Koppelman 2014). A challenge of diversity faced is on American Education. Education is most important because our future society depends on it and if we did not have it our future would most certainly fail. Learning and schooling is critical for everyone to gain knowledge and continue leading our diverse society forward into the right direction. Since diversity is a common issue relating to students who have gone through these situations there have been many intense debates and legal cases (Dey 2008). It is important that a patient be allowed to decide what should be done to his or her own body. In other words, nobody else has the right to assert their power over another. In the Cruzan case, Nancy s autonomy by way of her parents substituted judgment was overridden in favor of the State of Missouri s policy to preserve life. Although the Supreme Court did not deny that Nancy had the right to refuse nutrition/hydration, there was not enough clear and convincing evidence to know that refusal was what Nancy truly ... Patients want reassurance that the physician will not override their decisions in an act of paternalism (as well intended as the physician may be). Lastly, the physician may have a conflict with withdrawing treatment, but he or she must distinguish the difference between withholding a desired treatment versus withdrawing a treatment that is unwanted. Competency When discussing ethical issues concerning health care, competency refers not only to the ability of a patient to make a decision, but also to the ability of the patient to understand that decision. Included in comprehending the decision is also the patients understanding the consequences of his or her decision on both oneself and others. The determination of patient competency is not measured on any standard scale, but rather a common sense determination made by the physician. In order to make that determination, the physician must realize that the patient need not understand necessarily how the treatment works, but rather the consequences of accepting various treatments or refusing ... • 35. How The Roman Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful... Conversion in Medieval Iberia can invoke ambivalent feelings. Christians originally wanted to convert Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea, nevertheless, evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through violence and compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust their motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent means. This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Churchs stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religionto another religion. During the twelfth to fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews and Muslims converted to Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of dangerous enemies and the ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the chosen people, as they believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them, and formed a new covenant, while the Jews spurned him and ... Though the term love is ambiguous and can vary from person to person, Sternberg s Triangular Theory of Love depicts various forms of love based on passion, intimacy, and commitment alone and intersecting to form an intermediate form of love. To illustrate, in the song Tell Him by Lauryn Hill, a combination of intimacy and commitment creates companionate love seen between Hill and God. Companionate love is defined as the affection and tenderness we feel for those with whom our lives are deeply intertwined (Hatfield and Rapson, 1993).
