Nationalism Is A Political Ideology Essay
INTRODUCTION: Nationalism is a political ideology. It generally involves the identification of a
state. According to Hans Kohn, Nationalism is an idea, an idea force which fills man s brain and heart
with new thoughts and sentiments and drives him to translate his consciousness into deeds of
organized action (Agarwal, 1996). Usually we can see two forms of nationalism. One is liberal
nationalism and the other is aggressive nationalism. Because of liberal nationalism, different countries
of the world could achieve their independence. On the contrary, aggressive nationalism creates danger
for a country. World War I and World War II are examples of aggressive nationalism. Liberal
nationalism is concerned with justice or peace. On the other hand, aggressive nationalism is concerned
with injustice or war. Nationalism creates the national feelings in the minds of the people of a country.
With this national feeling, people of a country can make the cultural, political and economic
development. Nationalism takes different forms at different stages of the process of development of a
nation or state (Karim, 1992). There are different castes and religions in our country. People of all
castes and religions live together peacefully in our country because of liberal nationalism. Bangladesh
has a historical legacy of its nationalism. The people of Bangladesh had started struggling for the
independence from 1857. Lords of Britain had suppressed us a lot but we did not lose our courage

Treblinka Extermination Camp And Its Impact On The Holocaust
Around 60% of all Jewish people in Europe were killed in the Holocaust. That is over half of the
population. Almost one million of them were gassed at Treblinka Extermination Camp. Almost one
million of that 60% were killed at Treblinka. Treblinka had a major impact on WWII. To start off with,
many Jews were killed at Treblinka Extermination camp. Apart from Auschwitz, Treblinka murdered
the highest amount of jews out of all of the camps (Treblinka extermination camp). An estimate says
between 700,000 and 900,000 Jews were killed there (Treblinka extermination camp). Train cars were
brought to Treblinka around twenty cars at a time (Treblinka). From there, the Jews were taken out
and to the gas chambers. This camp was responsible for many

Types of Contract
1. Voidable Contract: An agreement which is enforceable by law at the option of one or more of the
parties thereto, but not at the option of the other or others, is a voidable contract. A contract is voidable
when one of the parties to the contract has not exercised his free consent. One of the essential
elements of a formation of a contract for example, free consent, is absent. All voidable contracts are
those which are induced by coercion fraud or misrepresentation. The person whose consent is not
freely given may avoid a contract. It therefore continues to be valid till the party whose consent is
caused by coercion, undue influence, fraud or misrepresentation choose to avoid the contract within a
reasonable time. Contract then is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

They may be made by written or spoken words. Contracts of Record and Specialty Contracts are also
known as Formal Contracts. The classification of contracts into Contracts of Record, Specialty and
simple is under the English Law. Indian Law does not recognize contracts without consideration. All
contracts must have consideration in order the valid subject to exceptions under section 25 of the Act.
13. Statutory Contract: When all or some of the terms and conditions of contract are statutory then the
entire contract, or that extent as the case may be, would be regarded as statutory contract. Legally

(disambiguation). A contract is a legally enforceable agreement between two or more parties with
mutual obligations. The remedy at law for breach of contract is damages or monetary compensation.
In equity, the remedy can be specific performance of the contract or an injunction. Both remedies
award the damaged party the benefit of the bargain or expectation damages, which are greater than
mere reliance damages, as in promissory estoppel. |Contents | |

A Midnight Summer Dream Analysis
It was in Athens, where an exciting and new or even tedious love flourished between Hermia and
Lysander. Shakespeare s A Midnight Summer Dream first introduces Theseus, the Duke of Athens. As
well Eugus alongside his daughter Hermia, her lover lysander, and her suitor Demetrius. Egeus wants
his daughter to marry Demetrius but she refuses to because she is in love with Lysander and wishes to
marry him. In response Egeus askes the duke if he can punish Hermia with death if she disobeys. She
took it upon herself and ran away with her lover into the woods were there were no rules and was not
under the control of her father. This rash and carefree behavior demonstrates that love always prevails.

Ethics Tech Transfer
Hailey Brown Ethics: Tech Transfer Prior to the Bayh Dole act in 1980, the federal government was
considered the owner of the patents produced by federally funded research. The Bayh Dole Act allows
universities, research institutions and other non profit organizations to claim ownership of the patent

very small percentage of those were commercialized. In the years following the act many universities

Streetcar Named Desire
Scene X is arguably the most structurally and thematically significant scene of A Streetcar Named
Desire, presenting the final confrontation between Blanche and Stanley and concluding with Stanley,
in his brutal rape of his wife s sister, emerging as the undisputed victor. Williams uses language,
sound, visual symbolism and violent stage directions in this passage to explore all the play s key ideas,
thus securing it as the dramatic climax of Streetcar. One of the primary concerns dealt with in this
scene is that of death and desire, which has been a preoccupation of the play since its beginning. In
Scene I, Williams explicitly links sex and death as Blanche arrives at the Kowalskis having taken two
streetcars named Desire and Cemeteries . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Williams visual emphasis of fantasy and reality comes to the fore as Blanche, drunk and delusional
after her rejection by Mitch, imagines that she has received a telegram from an old suitor, Shep
Huntleigh, and that Mitch begged for her forgiveness . At the start of the passage she states she has
[cast her] pearls before swine , unwisely drawing once more on the image of Stanley as a pig; Stella
accuses him of making a pig of himself in Scene VIII, to which he retorts that she and her sister are a
pair of queens . It is also a biblical reference, suggesting the misplaced sense of superiority which
infuriates him so much that he determines to bring her fantasy crashing down. His onslaught begins
slowly, with the casual repetition in Swine, huh? and You did, huh? , but builds to the outright
condemnation of her stories as imagination and the tricolon lies and conceit and tricks . He assumes
the same judicial air as in his criticism of Blanche to Stella in Scene VII, only this time he does it to
her directly. He characterises her as a Queen yet again, mocking her as a kind of cheap Cleopatra and
foreshadowing her eventual tragic downfall; each accusation seems like a whiplash to Blanche, almost
pinning her to the wall until she is equally trapped by his words and physical presence ( Let me let me

Ability Tracking Essay
Ability Tracking Introduction
If there is one general consensus among those who analyze America s system of education, it is that
we are lacking somewhere. Whether it s in our inner city schools, or rural districts, there is a distinct
literacy dilemma that has yet to be resolved in our schools. Not only are we gravely behind other
nations in our literacy rate and mathematics abilities, but there is also an increasing void within our
schools. A method of segregation known as ability grouping has been a commonly used practice
throughout the 90 s, and has changed the way in which primary and secondary school students are
educated.
The idea behind ability grouping, or tracking, is that many school practitioners assume ... Show more

Given the many facets of my school, I never once got the impression that students were being
discriminated against on basis of ability. All students, including my friends, were given ample
opportunity to pursue any education they saw fit. Students were never told they couldn t take a
specific class or participate in a program. While I won t claim that resentment or jealousy towards
students in the higher level programs was nonexistent, I will state that it was almost nonexistent.
In my higher level classes, I was enabled to study in areas not normally offered in a high school
learning environment. I completed my first year Calculus course my junior year, and was able to move
on to higher levels of math, taught by the chair of the math department at California State University
Sacramento, Professor Etterbeek. With this opportunity, I was able to take my education to a new
plateau, and it was choices such as this that afforded me a formidable education. These challenges
would not otherwise have been available to me in a non tracked or fully inclusive learning
environment.
Another opportunity was actually a requirement to garner the International Baccalaureate Diploma .

Accelerated emissions of green house gases (GHGs) globally, from combustion of fossil fuels and
unsustainable land use practices is the key driver of anthropogenic climate change, which is

Emerging Adulthood Theory Paper
This article was on a study that compared developmental trajectories of non students, versus college
educated young adults, on the aspects of Arnett s theory of emerging adulthood (Mitchell Syed, 2015).
However, there is a large group that literature has not been explored, and that category is on the young
teen/adults who choose to not attend college, or are unable to because of socio economic status
(Mitchell Syed, 2015). The emerging adulthood theory has been controversial. The controversial topic
has been brought up by researchers questioning how non students may not experience the
development of other emerging adults based on their interests to pursue adulthood without attending
postsecondary education. The aim of the study was intended to compare emerging adulthood among
individuals with college degrees, some college, and no college (Mitchell Syed, 2015). Arnett s
development tasks for emerging adulthood include: finding a reliable and satisfying career, choosing a
partner and starting a family, and establishing financial independence (Mitchell Syed, 2015). The
study concluded that the young adults who attended college experienced continuous growth of income
in their twenties, while non students wages leveled out in their twenties and did not rise (Mitchell
Syed, 2015). The non college bound young adults had children ... Show more content on

Texas Political Campaigns When running for any election in the U.S, it is a common belief that you
require spending a sizeable amount of money. Texas State is no different. A Texas Tribune analysis
established that there is no amount of campaign fund can guarantee an individual, victory (Jones 2). If
you are serious about campaigning for a federal office, you may need to part with ten to fifteen dollars
per vote. U.S rep in his re election bid spent a whopping thirty dollars per vote and fortunately for
him, he won. However, paying a lot of cash as an applicant does not really secure a dominant part

stereotype of these interest groups. Furthermore, since I would join the Republicans, most Democrats
would most likely be against me. My campaign slogan would be Remember, you matter. Reason

The term MSE can be used broadly to encompass any environmental intervention that promotes

the effectiveness of MSE interventions for individuals with dementia consisting of three sessions

The Harm Caused by Bioterrorism
Micro/Diseases
Bioterrorism
Bioterrorism is purposefully releasing biological agent toxins to cause harm and terrorize people.
Bioterrorism was first thought of somewhere in the 1340 s, this was when diseased horse corpses were
catapulted over castle walls in France. Germ warfare was also used in the medieval times in the
fourteenth and fifteenth centuries; human bodies were infected with the plague and used as
ammunition in central Europe. During World War I Germany had attempted to infect the Allies using
anthrax through livestock, which they failed in doing. By Germany attempting this it caused for
Geneva Protocol, this is the restriction of chemical and biological weapons being used during war.
However, the first bioterrorism occurred in the 1984 in the United States, members of the cult ha
sprinkled salmonella on salad bars around Wasco County. There were 750 cases of food poisoning and
another 45 cases of people being hospitalized. Many terrorist prefer to use biological agents instead of
any other weapon for a few reasons that are; they can easily get there hands on them, they are
inexpensive, it is hard to detect, they are easy to make and deliver.
Bioterrorism has been used and effective between countries for many years. It was first used in the
medieval times to end siege surrounding and attacking a town or building isolating people from
supplies and attempting to get a surrender from the inside. In 1340, a bunch of attackers hurdled dead

The Blizzard Inc.
When it comes to gamers there is not one who does not know who Activision Blizzard Inc. is. Even
those who do not play any video games tend to know that blizzard commands a legion of followers, I
know that throughout high school I logged ridiculous hours into their game Diablo II which was a top
selling game of the time. In gaming the Blizzard Company has created more top ranked games
bringing in more money than most people can truly fathom. When all is said and done what is the true
value of such a company, how much money do they control in our economy? Who is it that can rival
such a behemoth of a company? Within these few pages I will try to encompass the mass of this
company, what it is that drives them and to what extent their influence travels within our world and
perhaps beyond. Although Blizzard was created in 1991 it was not public, it was not until September,
30 1993 that it was made a publically traded company. Upon its first day of trading it commanded a
price of only eighty three cents per share. Today it has a price of over thirty five dollars per share with
a record high price of $38.71 just a week ago. Considering the price it started at this is a remarkable
feat, this company started small and has weathered some of the worst economic storms we have seen
in our history. Though we have recovered a great deal since the housing market collapse, as a whole
the market recently has been going down across all boards I believe as a result of the oil prices

Reflections on a 12-Step Group Meeting Essays
This essay is a reflection on my observation of how a group interacts with each other. The 12 step

Traditions as Alcoholics Anonymous, the words are changed from alcoholic to compulsive overeater .
The meeting I went to had seven people in attendance even with this small of a group it was definitely
a diverse group. All seven attendees were women whose ages ranged from a young college student to

I thought this was extremely tight control for a small group meeting. However, in looking at the
individual roles I can see that this member may be the complainer of the group. She did not have any
power in the group, and I was about to find out she did not conform to the groups expected behavior.
At this point in the meeting two different group members read the teaching and then Mary, the leader
asked if anyone would like to share an experience. Mary looked at the group complainer and said
please confine your sharing to the disease of compulsive overeating, rather than the events of the day
or week. If anyone is having difficulties please speak to your sponsor or other members after the
meeting. How a member shares is one norm for this group, sharing is timed and sharing needs to
reflect hope or how the member used the program to overcome a difficulty. In an effort to create an
atmosphere of sharing there is absolutely no feedback, cross talk or advice given during share time;
this group norm is called a conscious. Mary, the leader stated the chair for each meeting had the
discretion to let another member know if she was off topic or was speaking to long. Our group
complainer wanted to share first; I almost heard a cohesive group sigh. This member started her share
time with what was foremost on her mind, changing the meeting time to 7:30! The young college girl
asked if she could share at this point.

Violence In The Oresteia
In the trilogy The Oresteia, Aeschylus shows the never ending cycle of violence within the house of
Atreus. The cycle acts as a net entrapping Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Orestes, and many other
characters and producing actions throughout the play that provoke the audience to contemplate right
versus wrong, self help justice (in the form of revenge) versus justice by trial, and honor versus
dignity. Although the events taking place throughout the play are outlandish, the audience can still
look at the character s actions and thoughts and see that they are genuinely understandable human
encounters. From this, a sense of humanity that we all have certain concerns and duties and we must

While Clytemnestra turned on Agamemnon in order to avenge her daughter s death an action that most
people can understand the chorus decides to turn on Clytemnestra due to her outrageous crime. The
chorus concern does not lie within loyalty to the family though, it lies within the loyalty of seeking
justice for wrong doings. The chorus states that, The plunderer plundered, the killer pays the price, (L
1590) leading the audience to believe that the chorus views Agamemnon s death as justifiable
considering that Clytemnestra is only murdering the murderer. Instead, the chorus believes that
Agamemnon s death is a huge loss to the community due to his status as a war hero. Therefore, the
chorus views the sacrifice of Iphigenia as a necessary price to pay in order to do the greater good,
which in this case was fighting the war. The valor that emerges from a successful war is something to
be proud of, especially in the context of the play, which is why the audience could also rationalize the
chorus point of view one death in order to continue on in a war that could save thousands of people
from dying is quite miniscule. By continuing the war efforts, countrymen began to accept
Agamemnon acceptance being an integral part of human nature. In this case, the audience can
understand wanting to have the acceptance of his country rather than the acceptance of his wife, thus
further making this scene seem even more

Thursday s Child Analysis
During the Great Depression, when every ounce of life was bleak, withering, and hopeless,
maintaining fortitude through adversity differentiated living another day and meeting the ravenous
hands of death. Thursday s Child, a historical fiction novel written by Sonya Hartnett, explores the
struggles of an Australian family during the Great Depression. Harper Flute, the narrator of the novel,
reflects on the events of her early life with her family members. Da (Court) is the patriarch of the
Flute family and is the deplorable and cowardly father of Audrey, Harper s older sister, Devon, Harper
s older brother, Tin, Harper s younger brother, and Caffy, Harper s youngest brother. Mam (Thora),
Harper s mother, maintains her sense of bravery during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Devon receives a sum of money belonging to the recently deceased Grandda (Court s father),
Ma explains the disagreeable relationship between Court and his father. During World War I, Grandda
coerced Da to volunteer as a soldier, because he was jealous that his son was impeding on his chances
of ascending the corporate ladder. As Thora describes him, Grandda warned, Your children...will
forever hang their heads in shame (Hartnett 76 77). Da finally decides to enter the war, but returns
with alive. As a way of permanently preventing Da from jeopardizing Grandda s career success, he
implants the idea of moving into the country into Da s head. Similar to entering into the war, Da also
succumbs to Grandda s persuasion, and moves into the country with the rest of the Flute family. This
dysfunctional relationship between Da and his father is a likely cause for Da s cowardly nature.
Grandda s cold hearted nature and disinterest towards his son continuously haunts Da for the rest of
his life. For example, after Devon volunteers to work for the sinister Mr. Vandery Cable, he returns
him disappointed that he did not receive his week s wage. Da initially confronts Cable with authority
by stating, Where s your heart, Mr. Cable?...You owe my son a week s wages (59). However, Cable
quickly commandeers Court s confidence and consequently belittles Da. He wrung his hand in silence,
buckling his hat and limped the journey back home. Hartnett s diction is masterful in transforming Da
s courage and assertion into cowardliness and passivity. This interaction between the affluent pig
farmer, Cable, and the impoverished father, Da, is a parallel to Court s relationship with his father.
Similarly, Da is a man that ultimately has no sense of determination or self confidence in any regard.
However, years later, when Audrey returns home after working for

Heart Rate Writing Assignment
Was summer school P.E really worth it? Wasting my already short summer to the long days in the sun,
running and exercising just so I wouldn t have to take that class during the school year. To be honest I
do think it was worth it. Not only do I now not have to take this class during the year, but I also got a
month s worth of good exercise and I learned how to train within my target heart rate zone. Don t get
me wrong there definitely was some cons to doing summer school P.E. For example suffering from
delayed onset muscle soreness, commonly known as D.O.M.S. or getting headaches from the heat.
Anyway, here is my take on Palmdale High School s summer school P.E.
Everyday for sixteen days we had to take our heart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The half mile for me would have to be one of the easier exercises we did. I liked it because the run
was short, but it still was a bit challenging due to the heat. I feel like the only reason it was somewhat
easy was because I was used to running like that during track season. The first few days the half mile
for me was really challenging. Not only because of the heat, but also because I hadn t ran like that
since a year before. During track season my times for the 800m were usually 2:40 2:50, but my first
day of summer school my time was 4:34 which was terrible. This was mainly because I was out of
shape and I wasn t used to running like that since I stopped running. Over the course of summer
school my times started to slowly drop down and eventually my fastest time became 3:10 which is still

The Case Of Maryland V King
As technology advances, the world is forced to adapt as an increasingly quick pace. Specifically, our
justice system must consider the constitutionality of surveillance and other information gathering
techniques and how they coincide with current interpretations of the Fourth Amendment which
protects citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court addressed this issue
in the 2013 case of Maryland v King explicitly related to the legality of DNA collection of individuals
early in the booking process for serious crimes. In a 5 4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that pre
conviction DNA collection of those arrested for serious crimes is constitutional and does not violate
the Fourth Amendment; a decision that will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Justices Anthony Kennedy, John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer, and Samuel Alito made
up the majority of the court with the opinion founded upon the assertion that DNA testing is a
comparable method of identification to fingerprinting and photographing arrestees. Justice Anthony
Kennedy, wrote the opinion of the court, sits at the court s ideological center and joins the court s four
member liberal wing about a third of the time when it divides along partisan lines. As a Republican,
this makes him stand out as he actively resisted the kind of political polarization faced by the court.
Kennedy s swing vote is important in the consideration of our formal and informal actors in the courts
decision as he, and the other justices, are considered the formal actors.
DNA testing is the most accurate way to identify an individual, and should therefore be used to
increase the effectiveness of our justice system. This brings to light the issue of genetic privacy.
Society questions the motives of government in DNA collection and floods the media, which acts as
an informal actor on the court, with ideas of this invasion of privacy and encroachment of biological
liberties. The 2010 article, Create a National DNA Database? stated that such sensitive information is
prone to misuse, and one should not have such blind faith in the security of government access to it.

Innovative Entrepreneurship Importance
Entrepreneurship is an essential part of economic development, and it has been so especially since the
industrial revolution. Development is achieved for example through innovation, which the
Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD, 2005) defines as the
implementation of a new or significantly improved product (good or service), or process, a new
marketing method or a new organisational method in business practices, workplace organisation or
external relations . Innovative performance is an essential part when determining competitiveness and
progress on a societal level. The following chapters will focus solely on innovative and opportunity
entrepreneurs, as necessity entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs that imitate others contribute little to none
towards economic development. Entrepreneurships often quoted definition is that it is about the
discovery and exploitation of opportunities (Shane Venkataraman 2001). Why is innovative
entrepreneurship important? Innovative entrepreneurship plays an important role in today s society
across different countries and institutional contexts and by contributing to economic development, it is
a catalyst for institutional development and structural change, and it helps addressing challenges that
policy makers are trying to overcome. Such challenges include economic growth, climate change,
sustainable development, maintaining biodiversity, socioeconomic issues, job creation and poverty.

Disadvantages Of Simple Marathi Sentences To English As...
Abstract: With globalization English has become the official language of the world. With about 71
million Marathi speaking people and varied works in Marathi literature and novels calls for
translation. A system is proposed that translates simple Marathi sentences to English using Rule based
approach. The system makes use of an online POS (parts of speech) tagger maintained by TDIL.
Using rule based approach the system is feasible up to certain extent.
Keywords: Natural Language Processing, Rule based Machine Translation, Marathi, English,

5. Scope of Use
5.1. Advantages
India is a country with a large population well versed with vernacular languages but not fluent in
English. A Marathi to English translation system will be helpful to the Marathi speaking population
who need to converse in English. Lot of documents, scripts and scriptures in Marathi also need to be
translated to English and this process is manual. Marathi to English translation system will help to
automate this process and help reduce manual work related to translation.
5.2. Limitations
Considering the number of rules [2] to be included in the system, it is not possible to achieve perfect
translations for each and every sentence. There might be some disambiguation present in some
sentence translations. It is also language specific and cannot be used for translation of any other
language pair. It is also limited to sentences in the domain of the project and cannot be used for

Challenges That I Have Overcome
CHALLENGES THAT I HAVE OVERCOME: The proudest achievement of my life so far is
graduating from the medical school. I earned my MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
degree after five years of hard work, patience, and sincerity from a renowned government medical
college. But my journey to this achievement did not always lie on the straight line. Graduating from a
government medical college was a challenge for me. Because I was born and raised in a very small
town in Bangladesh. I started my primary education there. In the middle school, I was acquainted with
human biology and chemistry. At that time, I used to wonder how these tiny cells, enzymes, proteins
and DNAs perform their complex functions. This curiosity in human biology helped me frame my
career plan. But the educational facilities were inadequate in my hometown at that time. So my family
moved to the capital and I got admitted to one of the most prestigious high schools in the country. But
as a small town girl, it was very difficult for me to compete in the admission test with the students
raised up in the capital and got all the educational facilities. But I succeeded and successfully admitted
to that school. I took physics, chemistry, biology and advanced math in the high school to prepare
myself for the medical admission. I was an active member of the science club in school and
participated in many science fairs across the country. My hard work along with the guidance of my
teachers rewarded me with

The Failure Of The American Prison System
The Failure of the American Prison System The subject of prison evokes fearful and violent images
seen in movies or on television; outdated clichés consisting of men eating stale bread and drinking
dirty water that are intended to repulse people and deter them from committing crimes and ending up
in such a position. Unfortunately, the reality of the American prison system is just as troubling as the
dated stereotypes surrounding it. Despite its success in keeping dangerous offenders off the streets, the
modern prison system fails in fulfilling its original design of restoring criminals to being productive
members of society. It has proven to be an inefficient and ineffective system by focusing on
punishment over rehabilitation, leading to issues such as overcrowding, wasting taxpayers money and
a high recidivism rate. As children, most people learn obedience through punishment. When we do
something wrong one or several privileges are taken away by our parents. Depending on the severity
of a mistake, such punishment may last for a very short time or in some cases it may even be
permanent. Many parents inflict the common punishment of not allowing their children to watch
television for a certain amount of time. Such disciplinary methods often prove to be positive learning
experiences that teach children right from wrong and instill them with values that prevent them from
doing it again. Similarly, the United States prison system was initially designed with the same basic

Movies At Home Vs Movies Essay
Theatres are place for date nights, or hanging out with friend to enjoy a movie. Staying at home
cuddled up with a blanket, a bowl of popcorn, and picking up the newest movie on the way home from
family video is another way to enjoy a movie. Most people prefer to watch them at home than online
because of new services like Netflix or Hulu. However, watching movies in a theatre compared to
watching a movie at home is only a choice you can decide. Many couples go out for date night, and
they will go to a fancy restaurant. After that a movie will cost more than what it should. New dine
theatres provide an all in one date night along with the comfort of a home at the same time. Walk in,
pay money for a ticket; choose your seats on a small screen; hand the ticket to an employee; head to
the screen the movie is playing in; that is the steps it takes once a person is in the door at a dine in
theatre. When finished with this sequence more steps follow once the seat is found. A person finds
their seat, which is also a comfy recliner, looks at a menu and decides what they want to eat. Once
they know what they want to eat they press a button and wait a couple of minutes for a waiter to come
and take their order. The order is taken and no later than ten to fifteen minutes the food and drink that
was ordered arrives hot and fresh. Want candy just let the waiter know what kind you want and they
will bring it up. A person gets the service and food of a restaurant, the candy from the

Women s Precarity Analysis
Consequences of Women s Precarity
The systemic, cyclical nature of precarity for women in the labour market as described above creates
significant negative consequences for individuals, families, and society. Though the consequences are
numerous, a handful are presented here for illustrative purposes of how endemic this issue is.
Low wages/income are an earmark of non standard/secondary market work. Women (along with youth
and people with lower levels of education) are most likely to be working for minimum wage
(primarily in service sector jobs) (Galarneau Fecteau, 2016). Lack of a living wage for secondary
labour market jobs factors into the precarity model and economically disadvantages women/families.
The economic inequality of women s precarity contributes to an even greater issue, their social
inequality. The labour market and neoliberalism, in conjunction with economic austerity and an
extreme decrease in social welfare initiatives (all factors in precarity), contribute to the social
exclusion of women in Canada. Social exclusion the division between the haves and the have nots is
spawned from the barriers ( socioeconomic disparities ) that prevent individuals or groups full
participation in the social workings of society, and women experience it relative to their level of ...

Loss of consumer confidence, cost of high turnover, lack of spending in the market, and the inevitable
deprivation of government revenue all harm the ability of the free market to sustain itself on a model

overcome in the future, and perpetuates the gender inequality that already

Our Assignment This Week Asks Us To Write A Paper That
Our assignment this week asks us to write a paper that tells our thoughts on what the repercussions
might be of applying a Western World theory in a non Western area. Personally, I find this a hard quest
considering there is nowhere in the civilized world that is not extremely influenced by the Western
World. Even the Arab nations are influenced by the Western Worlds need for fossil fuels. Granted the
western culture has not been completely accepted in all parts of the world since some people are
against the approaches of the western culture naming it as oppressive and that it slights alternate
societies calling them barbaric and savage. Western culture still exists in mixed forms. Today, Western
culture has appeared in all nations on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, different people may share the same type of problems, but we all have our own way of
dealing with our problems. Nonwestern world societies may be easily offended if they think that
western world societies feel their way is best no matter what. Therefore, when a western world theory
is applied to a non western region, then it might happen that it does not cover entire aspects of the non
western region. Consequently, non western regions will suffer from this limitation (Young, 2014). In
the present era, several non western regions are adopting lots of cultural traits of western world such
as their dressing style. However, there is still a huge dissimilarity in the culture of the western world
and non western regions. This means then that when a non western world theory is to be applied
devoid of examining its cultural effects, then it may lead to the cultural disputes. The reason for it is
that people of each culture give a huge respect to their respective culture. If the western world theory
disrupts the cultural norms of any specific group of people, then the people of targeted culture may
raise voice against the western world or its applied theory. However, some people do like the aspects
of applied western theory and desire to alter their own cultural aspects with the western culture, but it
is risky since it relies on how the people think, and

The Lack of Creativity in the Yellow Wallpaper
Lack of Creativity and Isolation in The Yellow Wallpaper
In The Yellow Wallpaper, Charlotte Perkins Gilman presents an unnamed woman who gradually
spirals into a state of mental psychosis. Gilman sought to bring attention to the unfair treatment of
women in the nineteenth century. She uses this story to reveal to the audience that the narrator s
insanity stems from her isolation from society, and her inability to be expressive and creative through
writing. Throughout The Yellow Wallpaper, the narrator is locked away in an isolated room, which
was supposed to cure her mental disorder but instead it makes her worse. With the windows barred
and the doors locked she is secluded from society. She wishes to go visit her cousin Henry and ...

The work that she is referencing here is her writing, and she disagrees with her husband and brother s
idea that she should not be writing. Instead, she believes that if she is permitted to work, or write, her
condition would improve. Her opinions are not taken into consideration, thus she is obligated to write
in secret. The first evidence that indicates that the narrator was driven to insanity due to lack of
expression is when the narrator writes that [she] did write for a while in spite of them; but it does
exhaust [her] a good deal having to be so sly about it (Gilman 86). The narrator is intending to say that
it is the hiding that is exhausting, not the writing itself. The narrator experiences considerable
obstacles every time she attempts to express herself through writing. Every time she writes in her
journal she has to stop herself when her husband arrives because, he hates to have [her] write a word
(Gilman 87). The narrator even has to shield herself from her sister in law Jennie, There comes John s
sister. Such a dear girl as she is, and so careful of me! I must not let her find me writing (Gilman 89).
Jennie is in the house to look after her when her husband is gone, and she worries that if Jennie

The Study of Uniformitarianism
The Study of Uniformitarianism The origin of life on Earth is a fundamental scientific question, but
we do not know as much as many biology textbooks would like you to believe. (Pigliucci)
Uniformitarianism is vital to the world of science. It is a geological doctrine. It states that the same
natural laws and processes that operate in the universe now, have always operated in the universe in
the past and apply everywhere in the universe. It assumes that geological processes have essentially
not changed today from those from the past which are unobservable. As present processes are thought
to explain all past events, the Uniformitarian slogan is the present is the key to the past .
Uniformitarianism is a key principle of geology. My ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Lyell s time, most scientists still believed Earth had been shaped by rare and sudden events that
were unique to the past, so convincing people of his time was extremely difficult. Other scientists had
opinions on the theory of Uniformitarianism as well. In 1963, a geologist named Reijer Hookyas
decided to even further analyze Lyell s work. According to Hookyas, Lyell s uniformitarianism is a
family of four related propositions, not a single idea. None of these connotations requires another, and
they are not all equally inferred by uniformitarianism. The four related propositions are: Uniformity of
Law The laws of nature are constant across time and space. Uniformity of Methodology The
appropriate hypothesis for explaining the geological past are those with analogy today. Uniformity of
Kind Past and present causes are all of the same kind, have the same energy, and produce the same
effects. Uniformity of Degree Geological circumstances have remained the same over time. Stephen
Jay Gould s first scientific paper, Is uniformitarianism necessary? which was published in 1965,
reduced these four interpretations to two, methodological and substantive uniformitarianism.
(Hooykaas) Uniformitarianism was originally proposed in contrast to catastrophism, which states that
the distant past consisted of epochs of paroxysmal and

  • 2. Nationalism Is A Political Ideology Essay INTRODUCTION: Nationalism is a political ideology. It generally involves the identification of a state. According to Hans Kohn, Nationalism is an idea, an idea force which fills man s brain and heart with new thoughts and sentiments and drives him to translate his consciousness into deeds of organized action (Agarwal, 1996). Usually we can see two forms of nationalism. One is liberal nationalism and the other is aggressive nationalism. Because of liberal nationalism, different countries of the world could achieve their independence. On the contrary, aggressive nationalism creates danger for a country. World War I and World War II are examples of aggressive nationalism. Liberal nationalism is concerned with justice or peace. On the other hand, aggressive nationalism is concerned with injustice or war. Nationalism creates the national feelings in the minds of the people of a country. With this national feeling, people of a country can make the cultural, political and economic development. Nationalism takes different forms at different stages of the process of development of a nation or state (Karim, 1992). There are different castes and religions in our country. People of all castes and religions live together peacefully in our country because of liberal nationalism. Bangladesh has a historical legacy of its nationalism. The people of Bangladesh had started struggling for the independence from 1857. Lords of Britain had suppressed us a lot but we did not lose our courage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Streetcar Named Desire Scene X is arguably the most structurally and thematically significant scene of A Streetcar Named Desire, presenting the final confrontation between Blanche and Stanley and concluding with Stanley, in his brutal rape of his wife s sister, emerging as the undisputed victor. Williams uses language, sound, visual symbolism and violent stage directions in this passage to explore all the play s key ideas, thus securing it as the dramatic climax of Streetcar. One of the primary concerns dealt with in this scene is that of death and desire, which has been a preoccupation of the play since its beginning. In Scene I, Williams explicitly links sex and death as Blanche arrives at the Kowalskis having taken two streetcars named Desire and Cemeteries . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Williams visual emphasis of fantasy and reality comes to the fore as Blanche, drunk and delusional after her rejection by Mitch, imagines that she has received a telegram from an old suitor, Shep Huntleigh, and that Mitch begged for her forgiveness . At the start of the passage she states she has [cast her] pearls before swine , unwisely drawing once more on the image of Stanley as a pig; Stella accuses him of making a pig of himself in Scene VIII, to which he retorts that she and her sister are a pair of queens . It is also a biblical reference, suggesting the misplaced sense of superiority which infuriates him so much that he determines to bring her fantasy crashing down. His onslaught begins slowly, with the casual repetition in Swine, huh? and You did, huh? , but builds to the outright condemnation of her stories as imagination and the tricolon lies and conceit and tricks . He assumes the same judicial air as in his criticism of Blanche to Stella in Scene VII, only this time he does it to her directly. He characterises her as a Queen yet again, mocking her as a kind of cheap Cleopatra and foreshadowing her eventual tragic downfall; each accusation seems like a whiplash to Blanche, almost pinning her to the wall until she is equally trapped by his words and physical presence ( Let me let me get by ... Whether it s in our inner city schools, or rural districts, there is a distinct literacy dilemma that has yet to be resolved in our schools. Not only are we gravely behind other nations in our literacy rate and mathematics abilities, but there is also an increasing void within our schools. A method of segregation known as ability grouping has been a commonly used practice throughout the 90 s, and has changed the way in which primary and secondary school students are educated. All students, including my friends, were given ample opportunity to pursue any education they saw fit. Students were never told they couldn t take a specific class or participate in a program. While I won t claim that resentment or jealousy towards students in the higher level programs was nonexistent, I will state that it was almost nonexistent. In my higher level classes, I was enabled to study in areas not normally offered in a high school learning environment. I completed my first year Calculus course my junior year, and was able to move on to higher levels of math, taught by the chair of the math department at California State University Sacramento, Professor Etterbeek. With this opportunity, I was able to take my education to a new plateau, and it was choices such as this that afforded me a formidable education. • 11. Emerging Adulthood Theory Paper This article was on a study that compared developmental trajectories of non students, versus college educated young adults, on the aspects of Arnett s theory of emerging adulthood (Mitchell Syed, 2015). However, there is a large group that literature has not been explored, and that category is on the young teen/adults who choose to not attend college, or are unable to because of socio economic status (Mitchell Syed, 2015). The emerging adulthood theory has been controversial. The controversial topic has been brought up by researchers questioning how non students may not experience the development of other emerging adults based on their interests to pursue adulthood without attending postsecondary education. The aim of the study was intended to compare emerging adulthood among individuals with college degrees, some college, and no college (Mitchell Syed, 2015). Arnett s development tasks for emerging adulthood include: finding a reliable and satisfying career, choosing a partner and starting a family, and establishing financial independence (Mitchell Syed, 2015). Bioterrorism was first thought of somewhere in the 1340 s, this was when diseased horse corpses were catapulted over castle walls in France. Germ warfare was also used in the medieval times in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries; human bodies were infected with the plague and used as ammunition in central Europe. During World War I Germany had attempted to infect the Allies using anthrax through livestock, which they failed in doing. By Germany attempting this it caused for Geneva Protocol, this is the restriction of chemical and biological weapons being used during war. However, the first bioterrorism occurred in the 1984 in the United States, members of the cult ha sprinkled salmonella on salad bars around Wasco County. There were 750 cases of food poisoning and another 45 cases of people being hospitalized. Many terrorist prefer to use biological agents instead of any other weapon for a few reasons that are; they can easily get there hands on them, they are inexpensive, it is hard to detect, they are easy to make and deliver. Bioterrorism has been used and effective between countries for many years. It was first used in the medieval times to end siege surrounding and attacking a town or building isolating people from supplies and attempting to get a surrender from the inside. • 15. The Blizzard Inc. When it comes to gamers there is not one who does not know who Activision Blizzard Inc. is. Even those who do not play any video games tend to know that blizzard commands a legion of followers, I know that throughout high school I logged ridiculous hours into their game Diablo II which was a top selling game of the time. In gaming the Blizzard Company has created more top ranked games bringing in more money than most people can truly fathom. When all is said and done what is the true value of such a company, how much money do they control in our economy? Who is it that can rival such a behemoth of a company? Within these few pages I will try to encompass the mass of this company, what it is that drives them and to what extent their influence travels within our world and perhaps beyond. Although Blizzard was created in 1991 it was not public, it was not until September, 30 1993 that it was made a publically traded company. Upon its first day of trading it commanded a price of only eighty three cents per share. Today it has a price of over thirty five dollars per share with a record high price of $38.71 just a week ago. Considering the price it started at this is a remarkable feat, this company started small and has weathered some of the worst economic storms we have seen in our history. Though we have recovered a great deal since the housing market collapse, as a whole the market recently has been going down across all boards I believe as a result of the oil prices ... The meeting I went to had seven people in attendance even with this small of a group it was definitely a diverse group. All seven attendees were women whose ages ranged from a young college student to an elderly homemaker, there was a middle age professional (just left the office type), and a good old ranch gal boot wearing, hair in a braid ranch women. I thought this was extremely tight control for a small group meeting. However, in looking at the individual roles I can see that this member may be the complainer of the group. She did not have any power in the group, and I was about to find out she did not conform to the groups expected behavior. At this point in the meeting two different group members read the teaching and then Mary, the leader asked if anyone would like to share an experience. Mary looked at the group complainer and said please confine your sharing to the disease of compulsive overeating, rather than the events of the day or week. If anyone is having difficulties please speak to your sponsor or other members after the meeting. How a member shares is one norm for this group, sharing is timed and sharing needs to reflect hope or how the member used the program to overcome a difficulty. In an effort to create an atmosphere of sharing there is absolutely no feedback, cross talk or advice given during share time; this group norm is called a conscious. Mary, the leader stated the chair for each meeting had the discretion to let another member know if she was off topic or was speaking to long. Our group complainer wanted to share first; I almost heard a cohesive group sigh. This member started her share time with what was foremost on her mind, changing the meeting time to 7:30! The Party believes that if the dictionary is rewritten until no words exist that can express resistance then people will fade into a single, ignorant and brainwashed mass that accepts the Party s words as Gospel. Newspeak goes hand in hand with the idea of doublethink. Doublethink is when two contrary or opposing beliefs are held by a person at the same time and then the Party can tell the population which version to believe. A unique and confusing concept, right? Well to explain this, at the beginning of the story Oceania is at war with Eurasia but during the novel alliances switch and the nation is declared to be at war with Eastasia. The cycle acts as a net entrapping Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Orestes, and many other characters and producing actions throughout the play that provoke the audience to contemplate right versus wrong, self help justice (in the form of revenge) versus justice by trial, and honor versus dignity. Although the events taking place throughout the play are outlandish, the audience can still look at the character s actions and thoughts and see that they are genuinely understandable human encounters. While Clytemnestra turned on Agamemnon in order to avenge her daughter s death an action that most people can understand the chorus decides to turn on Clytemnestra due to her outrageous crime. The chorus concern does not lie within loyalty to the family though, it lies within the loyalty of seeking justice for wrong doings. The chorus states that, The plunderer plundered, the killer pays the price, (L 1590) leading the audience to believe that the chorus views Agamemnon s death as justifiable considering that Clytemnestra is only murdering the murderer. Instead, the chorus believes that Agamemnon s death is a huge loss to the community due to his status as a war hero. Therefore, the chorus views the sacrifice of Iphigenia as a necessary price to pay in order to do the greater good, which in this case was fighting the war. The valor that emerges from a successful war is something to be proud of, especially in the context of the play, which is why the audience could also rationalize the chorus point of view one death in order to continue on in a war that could save thousands of people from dying is quite miniscule. By continuing the war efforts, countrymen began to accept Agamemnon acceptance being an integral part of human nature. In this case, the audience can understand wanting to have the acceptance of his country rather than the acceptance of his wife, thus further making this scene seem even more ... Thursday s Child, a historical fiction novel written by Sonya Hartnett, explores the struggles of an Australian family during the Great Depression. Harper Flute, the narrator of the novel, reflects on the events of her early life with her family members. Da (Court) is the patriarch of the Flute family and is the deplorable and cowardly father of Audrey, Harper s older sister, Devon, Harper s older brother, Tin, Harper s younger brother, and Caffy, Harper s youngest brother. When Devon receives a sum of money belonging to the recently deceased Grandda (Court s father), Ma explains the disagreeable relationship between Court and his father. During World War I, Grandda coerced Da to volunteer as a soldier, because he was jealous that his son was impeding on his chances of ascending the corporate ladder. As Thora describes him, Grandda warned, Your children...will forever hang their heads in shame (Hartnett 76 77). Da finally decides to enter the war, but returns with alive. As a way of permanently preventing Da from jeopardizing Grandda s career success, he implants the idea of moving into the country into Da s head. Similar to entering into the war, Da also succumbs to Grandda s persuasion, and moves into the country with the rest of the Flute family. This dysfunctional relationship between Da and his father is a likely cause for Da s cowardly nature. Grandda s cold hearted nature and disinterest towards his son continuously haunts Da for the rest of his life. For example, after Devon volunteers to work for the sinister Mr. Vandery Cable, he returns him disappointed that he did not receive his week s wage. Da initially confronts Cable with authority by stating, Where s your heart, Mr. Cable?...You owe my son a week s wages (59). However, Cable quickly commandeers Court s confidence and consequently belittles Da. He wrung his hand in silence, buckling his hat and limped the journey back home. Hartnett s diction is masterful in transforming Da s courage and assertion into cowardliness and passivity. This interaction between the affluent pig farmer, Cable, and the impoverished father, Da, is a parallel to Court s relationship with his father. Similarly, Da is a man that ultimately has no sense of determination or self confidence in any regard. However, years later, when Audrey returns home after working for ... Innovative performance is an essential part when determining competitiveness and progress on a societal level. The following chapters will focus solely on innovative and opportunity entrepreneurs, as necessity entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs that imitate others contribute little to none towards economic development. Entrepreneurships often quoted definition is that it is about the discovery and exploitation of opportunities (Shane Venkataraman 2001). Why is innovative entrepreneurship important? Innovative entrepreneurship plays an important role in today s society across different countries and institutional contexts and by contributing to economic development, it is a catalyst for institutional development and structural change, and it helps addressing challenges that policy makers are trying to overcome. The Failure Of The American Prison System The Failure of the American Prison System The subject of prison evokes fearful and violent images seen in movies or on television; outdated clichés consisting of men eating stale bread and drinking dirty water that are intended to repulse people and deter them from committing crimes and ending up in such a position. Unfortunately, the reality of the American prison system is just as troubling as the dated stereotypes surrounding it. Despite its success in keeping dangerous offenders off the streets, the modern prison system fails in fulfilling its original design of restoring criminals to being productive members of society. It has proven to be an inefficient and ineffective system by focusing on punishment over rehabilitation, leading to issues such as overcrowding, wasting taxpayers money and a high recidivism rate. As children, most people learn obedience through punishment. When we do something wrong one or several privileges are taken away by our parents. Depending on the severity of a mistake, such punishment may last for a very short time or in some cases it may even be permanent. Many parents inflict the common punishment of not allowing their children to watch television for a certain amount of time. Such disciplinary methods often prove to be positive learning experiences that teach children right from wrong and instill them with values that prevent them from doing it again. Most people prefer to watch them at home than online because of new services like Netflix or Hulu. However, watching movies in a theatre compared to watching a movie at home is only a choice you can decide. Many couples go out for date night, and they will go to a fancy restaurant. After that a movie will cost more than what it should. New dine theatres provide an all in one date night along with the comfort of a home at the same time. Once they know what they want to eat they press a button and wait a couple of minutes for a waiter to come and take their order. • 29. Women s Precarity Analysis Consequences of Women s Precarity The systemic, cyclical nature of precarity for women in the labour market as described above creates significant negative consequences for individuals, families, and society. Though the consequences are numerous, a handful are presented here for illustrative purposes of how endemic this issue is. Low wages/income are an earmark of non standard/secondary market work. Women (along with youth and people with lower levels of education) are most likely to be working for minimum wage (primarily in service sector jobs) (Galarneau Fecteau, 2016). Lack of a living wage for secondary labour market jobs factors into the precarity model and economically disadvantages women/families. The economic inequality of women s precarity contributes to an even greater issue, their social inequality. The labour market and neoliberalism, in conjunction with economic austerity and an extreme decrease in social welfare initiatives (all factors in precarity), contribute to the social exclusion of women in Canada. Other scientists had opinions on the theory of Uniformitarianism as well. In 1963, a geologist named Reijer Hookyas decided to even further analyze Lyell s work. According to Hookyas, Lyell s uniformitarianism is a family of four related propositions, not a single idea. None of these connotations requires another, and they are not all equally inferred by uniformitarianism.
