Liz Murray Thesis
Reaching the Top
Last year, there were 1,926 homeless students enrolled in public school,.. (Goldberg N.P.). In the
United States, many homeless children skip school and lose hope about improving their life. One of
those children decided to change their life and that person was called Liz Murray. Liz Murray and her
older sister, Lisa, were children of two drug addicts. Her parents, who would neglect her and Lisa,
caused Liz to get head lice and for Liz and Lisa to go days without some proper food. Her parents
spent any penny they had on drugs. They would go as far as stealing birthday money from Liz. Liz
and Lisa s mother was diagnosed as HIV positive. With her mom going in and out of the hospital and
her dad s addiction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For insistence, according to reporter Susan Donaldson James, Liz Murray is helping youth struggling
with homelessness at New York s Covenant House, a nonprofit that provides shelter and support
services for the city s youth population. ( James N.P.) This demonstrates that Liz is going to a
covenant house in New York and helping the homeless youth build themselves a better life. This
illustrates that Liz Murray is putting the effort to help kids struggling through homelessness. Thus,
according to reporter Susan James, at the age of 19, Liz was motivating others on speaking tours and
by 22, she was conducting workshops to guide others struggling with life s curveballs. ( James N.P.).
This indicates that Liz is going around to different places and inspiring them to change their lives. As
explain above Liz is a going around and helping people to guide their struggling life into the right
direction.Another example, is according to reporter Julia Gabriela, Liz mentors youth at the Covenant
House in New York City. She urges students to express their gratitude and to not treat someone like
they re broken. (Gabriela N.P.). This demonstrates that she is not only helping other people who went
through the same situation as her succeed in life but she teaching them how to do the same and be
kind to others. This shows that Liz Murray is not only helping them

Health Care Reform Sociology
Healthcare reform is full of diversity. From looking at the government level in cost containment in
Canada to the multifaceted workforce that provides many different services. Viewing healthcare
reform through the gender lens draws attention to the differences and identifying efficiency, economic
factors, social structure and education. The meaning of health care reform is defined by Gustafson
(2000) Health care reform may be understood as the dynamic interplay among economic changes, the
role of the state, institutional discourse and practices, and social reproduction within the public and
private spheres (p.15). Viewing the health care issues through the gender lens means to identify
differences in health information facts based on influences of a gender perspective. The experience of

With the focus on efficiency and work, productivity may only be beneficial to the bottom line of the

staff and resources deny many women the time they need to work wisely and well and in the best
interest of those they serve (p.19).
Resulting in less time for the patients needs and concerns to be addressed. Removing the focus away

Assessment And Evaluation Of Family Therapy
The objective of this paper is to provide the assessment and evaluation of family therapy as it pertains
to the therapeutic approach of Solution Focused Therapy. The given information underlines the
pertinent resources related to individual and family therapy and the application of SFT techniques.
This paper examines the presenting problem while directing the family from the problem to the
solution. Background information of the family Latoya and Cortez are both in their early 30s and have
been in a long committed relationship for the past eight years. The couple got engaged last December
and the two share a 5 year old son named CJ. Cortez was born and raised in Huntsville, AL with both
parents; he is the only child. Throughout Cortez s life, he always needed the acceptance and approval
of his peers for a majority of his life decisions. Latoya is from a single parent household in Cleveland,
Ohio. Latoya s father left her mother and younger brother when she was 6 years old. Latoya shortly
became emotionally unattached to her family, accepting that she will never see her father again. Both
Latoya and Cortez work demanding jobs and often feel stressed and exhausted at the end of each day.
Cortez s job often consists of more hours, where he usually works at least 6 days a week. At times
Latoya feels lonely and the need for some attention and affection. When the two are together they

Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern
Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude
Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose,
1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the
Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic
(Hornychová, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid
admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady
Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony
established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from
societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts
the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his
pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one
s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically
conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern
s political misdemeanours. This is further noted in her dialogue where she will love him always (1.6)
but only because he will always be worthy of her love (1.6) rather than

Analysis Of Oddi Banding
Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to a
rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric banding in
that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO), compressing the
outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely affected by this
procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell count, abnormal
discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding organs and even
death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail. (CQUniversity, 2015) What is
the Sphincter of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction ... Show more content on

If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be
detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s
health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of
food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the Sphincter
of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of relaxing and
allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a backup of
secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion of the
pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause coagulative
necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and the growth of
pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities, injuries to the
vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of leukocytes. These
responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later systemic effects of this
can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure

Why The Failure Of The Allies s Cross-Channel Invasion
In 1941, Churchill and Roosevelt and their advisers met in Washington. Their first strategy was to
defeat Germany and after they ll go after Japan. America planned it as soon as they would stabilize in
the southwestern Pacific. Their plan was to make a cross channel invasion of Europe from Britain. The
Allies could nt have enough ships to invade Europe before the next spring of 1942. Their next thought
was to plan a bomb on Germany. During they would wait and send war materials to the Soviet armies
fighting Germany in Russia. Churchill wanted to keep going and mess up Germany from the
Meditterranian. For example they wanted to ruin Africa, Sicily, Italy, and so on just until Germany
was so weak, they would invade across the Channel. America wanted to make a cross channel
invasion of Europe as soon as possible. In 1943, the Allies agreed to a round the clock bombing
campaign against Germany. In the end there was no definite plan for a cross channel invasion other
than to agree to do it someday. In 1943, at the Tehran Conference, Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill
held a final blueprint for allied victory. In the summer of 1944 there would be a cross channel invasion
of Europe and a smaller invasion of southern France, and at the same time Russia would lanch an
offensive on its front with Germany. Germany would be crushed between the jaws of a ... Show more

that they diverted Germany s strength and obviously made it weaker not just with Africa but also

Iran Case Study
Moving on to my second point, I would like to discuss the nature of the sanctions implemented on Iran
due to the nuclear issue more in detail so we can get a better realization of what the public civilians in
Iran have gone through. It is worth mentioning that Iran has been facing sanctions with respect to the
selling of any aircraft and any parts related to them and even the maintenance and inspection of
airplanes since 1979. Regardless of the reasons behind it, for a moment let s imagine how would it be
if only one of us, set aside a group of 200 or more passengers consisting of children and women, were

As a case in point, I can personally, as someone who has witnessed these tough situations firsthand,
tell you that all costs and prices, from the price of a bottle of milk or a loaf of bread to the cost of
going from one end of the city to the other, more or less doubled due to the sanctions. Again I would
like to encourage you to just imagine how terrible would it be if the cost of transportation or anything
else in New York City were to double over night.
All the above mentioned on one side, the trouble of not being able to purchase certain medicines and
foods on the other was the most painful of all. Officially, the imposers of these sanctions had excluded
the purchase of medical supplies and certain food from the sanctions; however, here is a part of a
recent study by the Washington DC based Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars:
Even when the most reputable American and European pharmaceutical companies are involved, and
their lawyers have completed all the necessary paperwork from the US Treasury s Office of Foreign
Assets Control (OFAC), nearly all banks that Iran deals with prefer to err on the side of caution. Their
hesitation is understandable given that a mistake could earn a bank the wrath of the US Treasury
Department and fines that exceed $1 billion. The recent experience of a reputable Iranian
pharmaceutical group shows the magnitude of the problem. When a senior company representative
flew to Paris to present a French bank with documentation

Decline In Voter Turnout
The decline in voter turnout at the turn of the century has always been a concern for politicians and
scholars alike. The very fact that voters are responsible for changing or keeping the country s
leadership means that this development should be a concern not only to a few individuals but also to
the whole nation. The government, political parties, and focus and interest groups have tried to find
ways to increase the motivation to vote while easing the voting process. However, these methods have
been less successful than expected. While the motivation to vote relies on factors such as the attributes
of voters, political socialization, and electoral laws and rules, the impact of political parties and their
aspirants supersedes any strategy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
148). In essence, every voter has some political beliefs and values that often influence the way he or
she views political parties, candidates, and ideals. Some conservative people tend to vote to
Republican, while some people tend to vote Democratic. Voters have their own political attitudes, and
these attitudes determine how society goes, whom they are voting for, and what kind of political
parties they are supporting. Many elements have the ability to contribute the political attitudes, such as
family, gender, education, income, religion, age, race, and etc. According to Ginsberg et al., the first
place where people start forming their beliefs on politics is their families and society (148). This idea
explains the reason some areas in the U.S. have more Democratic representatives while others have
the majority of their residents being Republicans. The fact that most people possess these ideals means
that in the event that the candidates in a ballot do not have the qualities that a particular group of
voters is looking for, these voters will not partake in voting. When the impact of race in political
socialization is factored in, it becomes increasingly evident that some people of one race are unlikely
to spend their time voting for a candidate who does not represent their beliefs pertaining to racial
issues. For instance, African Americans perception of the extent of racism is different from that of
whites. This has a significant bearing on the motivation of voters from each divide to participate in an
election (Ginsberg et al.

Defining Personal Responsibility and Exploring My Own...
What is personal responsibility? Some examples people would probably come up with would be these:
working, chores, taking care of your family and some might even say going to school and getting a
better education. The definition of personal responsibility is: the obligation to carry forward an
assigned task to a successful conclusion. With responsibility goes authority to direct and take the
necessary action to ensure success. ( DOD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms ). Personal
responsibility to me is taking ownership of the things that will affect us in anyway, whether it is in the
long run or short term. If we do not take ownership of the situations around us we will be consumed
by duties and assignments which at that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will take personal responsibility to the next level in my studies. I will make sure everything I can
control in my realm will be completed to the best of my abilities. I will make sure my responsibilities
don t become burdens or assignments . My responsibilities will be complete and because of the steps I
have taken to choose my fate I will have the blessing of making my family s life easier and I will be
happier with my new sense of worth. Because of the direct connection going to college has with
making more money and being a successful person we should all take ownership of our lives and get
educated. According to Julian and Kominski (2011) Occupation is often the mechanism by which
education is related to earnings. Higher levels of education allow people access to more specialized
jobs that are often associated with high pay. Degrees in many occupations are treated as job training
that may be required for a position or earn the employee more pay within that position. (p.2.). The
way I see it, I have no choice. I will take ownership of my life and I will make a better living situation
for my family.
In conducting the research for this essay I found various websites and papers people have written
which all fell along the same lines of thinking about personal responsibility. It seemed that anyone
who thinks about personal responsibility automatically begins to list their everyday duties:

How Does Domestic Terrorism Affect Our Lives
The role of domestic terrorism in American leads to the question: How does domestic terrorism
affect+ American lives. The definition of terrorism is . . . the calculated use of violence (or the threat
of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in
nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear (Domestic). One purpose of this
discussion is to show that the threats and acts of domestic terrorism makes Americans feel less safe in
a free society. Domestic terrorism has a negative effect on American s daily lives by revealing the
weakness in food production; the homegrown terrorist; the fear of the unknown lone wolf; the
misconceptions of domestic terrorism; and the loss of civil liberties.

Monitoring of the masses instead of individual suspected terrorists threatens citizens privacy and

tension and balance between the demands of national security and the demands of democracy.
(Rosati). Depending on the level of fear some people will have to give up some of their civil liberties
to maintain the safety of the United States. There will more than likely be a resistance to giving up
freedom in exchange for security. When the emotion of fear drives decisions; citizens could make
irrational choices that would give more power to the government. In an anonymous survey 33% stated

The Middle Eastern Country Of Yemen
In the Middle Eastern country of Yemen, a battle is being fought leaving much destruction to
infrastructure and hundreds of lives lost. Actually it is not so much of a battle as it is a total, one sided
bombardment of this country. This is an attempt from a U.N. sponsored, Saudi led coalition that is
trying to persuade Houthi rebels into thinking reasonably and diplomatically by bombing them back
into the Stone Age. In order to fully understand what brought the U.N. to a point of agreement on
engagement of this operation, it is important to understand the recent history of Yemen and the events

The city of Riyadh was eventually forced to recognize Yemen s republican government.
Now as then, Riyadh sees the struggle in Syria as a defining moment. As the leader of the Sunni
Muslim world, it perceives an opportunity to check what it sees as Iranian plans to encircle the
kingdom with hostile Shiite dominated regimes. As the war has taken on a more sectarian character,
the usually reserved foreign minister, Prince Saud al Faisal, has described Assad s onslaught against
his own people as genocide and Syrian lands as being under occupation a clear reference to the
presence of Iranian and Hezbollah forces.
It is no secret that the Saudis are supplying elements of the Syrian opposition with weapons. They all

willing to do anything, then they must allow Syrians to defend themselves.
The Saudis will use all tools available to oust Assad, while taking measures to ensure that the weapons
they re supplying to the rebels do not fall into the hands of extremists. Nevertheless, following the
chemical attack on civilians near Damascus last month, the Saudi foreign minister spoke candidly
about the inability of the Arab nations to put a stop to Assad s campaign through force of arms, adding
that any military effort to do so would likely involve actors outside the region. Recent suggestions that

The Wild West Rides Into The Sunset
Have you ever read a text that included items such as a bold cowboy, trusty horse, beautiful female, or
a dark villain in a dry, isolated, and undeveloped setting? If so, it s a great possibility that you were
reading a classic Western. Many readers of this genre would describe its stereotypes as what I listed
above. You can almost always find that protagonist cowboy hero, who tends to be a good looking and
sharp character that fights the dirty, rugged, evil villain in an epic climax while trying to save his
gorgeous and innocent lady. The setting is often a flat, unpopulated, and undeveloped town,
surrounded by mountains. The Western genre played a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Kolb describes Marshal Jack Potter as a nervous unarmed honeymooner, who rides a train
instead of a horse (98). In the story, Potter is described as wearing a new black suit that most likely
was purchased in San Antonio (23). This gives the reader the idea that the East influenced the West a
great deal, considering a hard nosed, sharp shooting town hero most likely should not be wearing a
new suit that was made in the East. The stereotypical western criminal is mean, dirty, selfish, and
constantly stirring up trouble. In The Bride, your criminal is Scratchy Wilson. However, as Kolb
describes, the difference between Scratchy and most other Western villains is that Scratchy s main
crime seems to be that he can t hold his liquor (98). The eastern culture is brought up again in the
story through Scratchy s clothes. You d expect to visualize a rough and dirty character whose soul is as
dark as his clothes. With Scratchy, you get a criminal wearing a maroon colored flannel shirt that was
made in New York (24). Crane uses these characters to portray an idea to his reader s that the
influence the East has on the West is far greater than the average person would expect.
Expectations for a women in a Western story are generally perceived to be a beautiful, innocent,

Motivation refers to the way in which urges, drives, desires, aspirations, strivings, needs, directs or
control or explain the behaviour of human beings. D.E. McFarland
Features or Characteristics:
Some of the features of motivation are listed below
1. Motivation is always internal to the individual:
It is necessarily a psychological phenomenon. Berelson and Steiner said that A motive is an inner state
that energizes, activates or moves (hence motivation) and that directs or channels behaviour towards
goals.
2. Motivation of a individual is in entirely and not in parts:
Different needs of Humans makes behaviour. For example A worker works in a factory because he
needs money, same like this thirsty man feels the need of water to overcome his thirst. The feeling of
needs is a continuous process and the satisfaction of one need leads to the creation of a new one.
Therefore motivation should be in entirely because all needs are interrelated.

Why Is Samsung To Achieve Global Competitive Advantage
Question 1 (40 Marks)
Critically analyze and discuss the strategy adopted by Samsung to achieve global competitive
Advantage. (500 words)
Answer 1
To understand how Samsung achieved global competitive advantage we first need to understand what
do we mean by Strategy ?
At the business unit level, strategy is a set of management decisions concerning which customers to
target and what to offer them. (European Business Forum, 2007)1
Strategy is a concept that focuses on long term objectives of a firm keeping in view the changes that
take place in the business environment and the possible implications that it has on the firm. Thus, a
dominant and well structured strategy plays a very important element in capturing competitive
advantage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason being that the company didn t depend upon its organizational members or managers to act
rationally and take decisions. Rather the firm was highly determined on revising its product design in
order to achieve global competitive advantage. The processual strategy states that organizations whose
products are genuinely better can outwit their competitors. In a similar manner Samsung also came out
with a variety of convergence products which gave the firm an extra boost of competitive edge. For
instance, Samsung launched 5 and 7 mega pixel camera phones in 2005 along with a 10 mega pixel
camera in 2005. It also launched the SGH i310, a phone with a capacity of 8 GB that could easily
store about 2,000 MP3 files. By offering products that were completely different and unique with
respect to their design, features, quality etc. Samsung soon occupied a major share in the electronics
market. The systemic school sees strategy as constrained and shaped by the socio economic systems in
which it is embedded. (Small Business Economics, Jan 2009)3 Samsung along with the processual
strategy also adopts the systemic theory of strategy. In that the company aligns its activities and
products with the social systems that the firm interacts with for instance cultural, political, social etc.
Samsung functions in an environment that is highly

Why Is Malvern Hill Defense Important
The civil war, one of the most bloodiest and climacteric battles in the history of the United States.
Many battles took place during this pivotal, yet traumatic time in the United States of America. Like
any battle, there have moving parts. Within Battles they contain, Scouts, Calvary, Infantry, and Field
Artillery. Of all the moving parts on the battle field, the Field Artillery plays an important and
triumphant role, within the battlefield infrastructure. The civil war, like other wars, ubiquitous use of
artillery was important; artillery was the key to winning battles. One battle in particular, relied densely

The confederate army under the control of General Lee, was set up in various positions around the
crest of the hill, to be able to drop a converging fires on the union batteries (Krick, 2014). The cross

at the union army. The orders issued by the confederate were misunderstood and bungled. The union
under control of General Porter had set the main tempo of defense of the battle (Krick, 2014). The
union only had room for approximately 30 to 35 cannons on the slender crest of the hill. With the
union set up on the slender crest this left the confederates no cover when approaching the exposed hill.
Every time the confederate s infantry approached they were stopped and stalled off in front of the
union s wall of cannon defense (Krick, 2014). When the confederates would retreat after confronting
the unions wall of cannon defense they would face a lot of friendly fire from the confederates cannon
batteries (Krick, 2014). The confederates would periodically expel all its ammo of a six gun batteries;
once depleted a ready team would fill in for replacement. The confederates finally found a new line to
approach the hill on the western slope of the hill to be able to protect their route (Krick, 2014). With

If you go on YouTube and watch how the races were broadcast in the 1980s and 1990s you ll see there
were no gimmicks, no pre race concerts, no interviews with celebrities pretending to like NASCAR
(unless they were giving the command to start engines which are much better than seeing a CEO or
vice president do it), no specials featuring a feel good or sob story from someone in NASCAR. It was
about one thing and that was the race itself. They interviewed a few drivers, told any news going on in
the sport and that was it, no B.S. NASCAR could really learn a lot from Formula Ones pre race show.
One thing that is incredibly missed in the broad cast presentation is the starting lineup. The 1988

makes the races seem more dramatic and epic and even shows the cars too which is important because
it will help new fans identify quickly who is driving what car. Today they go through the starting
lineup in 30 seconds and even stop announcing it sometimes once they get to about 25th place.
Another issue is that there is hardly any variety in the camera angles. For almost the entire race
(except replays) you are seeing the same 5 shots of the race. Every single shot around the turns are
shots from right along the wall. The in car cameras are also getting boring because

Spoon River Themes
The movie Sixth Sense and the book the Spoon River Anthology both talk about dead people, but
there lies a deeper meaning in both of them. The book and movie each have their own differences, but
also the book and movie have similarities between them. The book and the movie are not that different
they have each share common theme. The movie Sixth Sense and the book spoon river anthology have
their differences but also share a common theme which is, Do not end your life with you unfinished
business, finish what you started. In the book the Spoon River anthology, many themes are expressed
throughout the story. One of the themes is never being afraid to speak your mind because that is the
way you will be remembered. This is found in Dorcas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of those ideas is how can someone tell if they are alive or dead without experiencing. At the end
of the movie there is a major plot twist where the audience finds out that the doctor was actually dead
the entire and got shot he did not realize either. The doctor did not realize that he was dead until Cole
said They do not know they are dead yet. The doctor realizes this is happening to him when he goes
back to his house for the first time and sees his wife. Another idea is that how can we tell what is real
or fake without actually seeing it. This idea comes from Cole Sean a nine year old kid who suffers
from a disorder where he can see dead people as though they were living. His problem brings up an
interesting point because Humans do not know what is actually real or not because we really do not
what is there. Cole is a very special kid because he can the dead people and he knows what is real
because he sees the dead people and he knows what is there. It is a little frightening these things out in
this world that humans cannot see but could be there. A theme found in sixth sense is Closure makes
everything better. This theme is found when the Doctor is by Cole to talk to his wife when she is
sleeping because then she will listen. Cole said to the Doctor the best time to talk to her is when she is
sleeping, because she will actually listen. The Doctors does this and His wife is able to feel much
better because she knows that her husband is okay and that he will always be with her. This makes the
doctor feel better too because he knows that he wife still loves him and will always remember him.
The doctor and his wife were both better once the doctor opened up and gave some closure. Another
example about this is when Cole and his mom were stuck in traffic Cole finally told his mother about
his secret and gave an example. He told his mom that his grandmother, Cole s mom s mom, that

The Ethical Theories Of The Ethics
There are eight major ethical theories the ones that were focused on in the video were deontological
and utilitarian. The deontological theory is the sense of obligation, that someone feels that it their
morally duty to do the right thing. The utilitarian theory is that people act and behave so that they will
produce happiness for the greatest number of people. These two different ethical theories are ways that
people behave and think is morally correct. In the video the professor talked about the two ethical
theories and how the choices that people make can connect to these two theories. The professor said
that the utilitarian theory mantra is that good makes something right, and that these people are results
oriented. The deontological theory mantra is that right makes something good, and that these people
are motive oriented. The big question is what is the morally right thing to do? consequential moral
reasoning says that someone should not kill an innocent person to say others. I think people should
always try to avoid hurting other people, but if you could save five people and only one person die,
would you do it? For example in the first situation where there are two ways the train can go with
workers on it, with no brakes, and it can either hit five workers and save the one, or save five, and kill
one worker by going down another track. The train driver has to decide quickly what to choose. Either
way someone has to die, should it be five people or one? I

Personal Narrative-My Hero s Journey To Freedom
We watch Him gain His power legally, through the system. We watch as He turns us against the ones
we used to call our friends. We watch Him use the Proclamation, a way to weed out those who didn t
agree with His philosophies. We watch those that fight disappear. We watch others try to seek refuge,
only to be sent back. We watch other countries turn their backs to us like we did them. We watch as
we slowly, but surely, end up alone.
Through all this, I try and work by myself. After the last attempt, most people are too afraid to try and
rebel publicly, so we hide in the shadows. My main goal for months has been to recruit those on the
outskirts of society and send them the resistance s way. The scientists, the activists, the ones with

President Richard Nixon s Resignation In The United States
President Richard Nixon did several things while in office that eventually led to his resignation in
1974. The most significant is that he plotted to wiretap and steal from different offices and other
spaces to gather information to help lead to re election and he also tried to cover up and lie about the
scandal when it all unfolded. 1) Nixon created a special investigative unit known as the plumbers to

The Importance Of Representation In Popular Media
Turn on the TV. Watch any show for more than three minutes and count. Count the amount of non
white people you see, the number of non straight relationships shown, the number of non cis people
you see. Chances are, the majority of what you saw was cisgendered, straight, white people. Does that
make sense? Think about that for a second. How many people in the world can tick all those boxes
about themselves?
As a cisgendered white person, I ve been lucky enough to have those aspects of my identity
represented in the popular media thus far. Therefore, I m going to focus more on the lack of
representation for queer people in the media, as it may not be my place to speak about the other issues,
however many opinions I may have on those subjects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s something I ve watched straight people struggle with understanding. A large part of the issue
lies with children. Children learn what they see, and if they re constantly shown nothing but straight
couples in the media, that s what they ll internalise as normal. This is incredibly detrimental as they
grow up, as it may result in them suppressing their feelings or writing them off as weird. It can create
a feeling of isolation for those who don t fit the heteronormative narrative that s presented so often.
This is why representation is important. This speech is for all the little girls out there who think they
have to love a man, who are confused about what their feelings mean. This speech is for all the little
boys out there who think they have to love a woman, who are confused. This speech is for everyone
who s ever struggled to understand themselves, or felt different since they never saw anyone like them
on TV.
And so here it is. This is me, standing before you, asking for help. If you consider yourself an
LGBTQ+ ally, here s your chance to prove it. If we all stand together, we can change this. As a
collective voice, we must demand better representation. We must demand action be taken. We must

Effects of Illegal Insider Trading Essay
Insider trading is a term that most investors have heard and usually associate with illegal conduct. But
the term actually includes both legal and illegal conduct. The legal version is when corporate insiders
officers, directors, and employees buy and sell stock in their own companies. When corporate insiders
trade in their own securities, they must report their trades to the SEC. Illegal insider trading refers
generally to buying or selling a security, in breach of a fiduciary duty or other relationship of trust and
confidence, while in possession of material, nonpublic information about the security. Insider trading
violations may also include tipping such information, securities trading by the person tipped, and

But, in a case like that of Enron, their stock price was enormous since it was not evident that they
were cooking their books. This would not have happened if insider trading were legal. Investors would
not have lost most of their money investing in a firm like Enron and taking the hit when they were
investigated for insider trading and fraud. The Enron insiders would have sold their shares and the
price would have corrected itself and the disaster might have been avoided. Investors could have
allocated their money towards more promising investments, which in turn would increase market
efficiency. With legalizing insider trading, stock prices would be more efficient with the ability to
acquire more information. Illegal trading is still common and some may say it is actually growing.
This puts law abiding investors at a disadvantage. Insider trading bans allow for some comparable
behavior. For example, if I were to work for a company and hear that we were going to post a profit
this quarter, I would not sell my shares. This could be considered insider non trading and is currently
legal, but can basically be considered insider trading. There are plenty of loopholes in the current
system. With increased information, we might be able to smooth the volatility of the market. It will
lessen the exposure to bad information and will benefit the market s participants. Profits being made
from the information will expedite the flow of information. There is a gray area

America s dependence on foreign oil has become a huge problem according to T. Boone Pickens, as
our intake is not decreasing but increasing. To find a solution Americans must first be informed that,
Americans use 25% of the oil in the world and our population is only 4%. Be shown how it can be
fixed through renewable energy such as wind, solar and electric and what progress can be made by
using these continually in the next 10 years. If we are setting the foundation for our future we must

First wind, according to the America Wind Energy Association,
Wind power generated more electricity in 2015 than the combined generation from all sources in
Georgia and Colorado.
Wind power supports 73,000 well paying jobs across all 50 states. Nearly 20,000 American workers at
over 500 factories across 43 states now build wind turbine parts and materials. The DOE s Wind
Vision report says growing wind energy to supply 20 percent of U.S. electricity by 2030 could support
380,000 jobs.
How astounding that by creating turbines, we are able to harness that much electricity. Creating jobs
for thousands of workers and their families. Now what about solar? The Sun has been around since the
beginning of humanity and how foolish of us not to use more of it s natural rays. Consider harnessing
the sun s power to make electricity.
Nearly 209,000 Americans work in solar more than double the number in 2010 at more than 9,000
companies in every U.S. state. By 2021, that number is expected to increase to more than 360,000

This not only provides jobs for those who are out of work, but essentially we could be more efficient

A Rubik s Cube Is A Logic Game And Mathematical Puzzle
A Rubik s cube is a logic game and mathematical puzzle that develops critical thinking and spatial
reasoning skills. It is a three dimensional puzzle originally invented and developed by Erno Rubik to
serve the purpose of a mathematical aid in the 1970 s but unexpectedly evolved into what is now
considered to be the world s top selling toy. Erno Rubik was a young professor teaching interior
design and architecture in Hungary when he first created the object. He created an object that was not
supposed to be possible. His solid cube twisted and turned and still did not break or fall apart. Rubik
first invented the cube, formerly known as the Magic Cube to help explain three dimensional
geometry to his students. The puzzle is in the form of a cube made up of smaller, coloured
interlocking cubes that can be manipulated by twisting the horizontal and vertical planes. Initially
before the cube has been manipulated each face of the cube is covered in a different colour. Meaning
when you twist and turn the cube away from its original orientation the colours on each face will be
jumbled. Although it has now been made apparent that every legal permutation of the Rubik s cube
can be solved in 20 moves or fewer, it has been reported, the first time Rubik jumbled the cube it took
him a month to solve it. Throughout the introduction I have used information from sites reference [1]

How Heart Is Represented Through Two Types Of Scenes,...
Discussion
According to the table, it can be concluded that heart is represented through two types of scenes;
funerary and daily life.
Firstly: Funerary Scenes
Funerary Scenes were the most common scenes in the New kingdom tombs as they were represented
on the walls of the longitudinal corridor (Passage) until the reign of Anenhotep III as they were
illustrated on the walls of the transverse hall. Funerary scenes included many consecutive events
started with purification process, mummification, and transportation of the deceased body to the tomb
through a funerary procession after the pilgrimage to Abydos then opening of the mouth ritual in front
of the tomb as one of the burring rituals.
1 Opening of the Mouth
This ritual was acted in front of the tomb in order to enable the deceased to speak, eat, see, hear and
move again in the netherworld as well as it helps him to retrieve all his power and abilities in addition
to preparing him with magic to face the dangers afterlife. It didn t appear in the 18th dynasty tombs in
a large scale until the reign of Tuthmosis III. It is very important to mention that there were many
successive steps in the procession of opening of the mouth as the sacrifice rituals to the Upper and
Lower Egypt in which the priests offered the heart and the foreleg of the bull to the mummy or the
statue of the deceased. The heart is represented five times in the scene of the Opening of the mouth
which is depicted three times on the northern wall

The Boy Who Cried Wolf Summary
The boy who cried wolf by B.G. Hennessy retells the beloved classic with the dominant theme of
honesty. The plot in this book is what relates to the theme. Because the boy was bored, he decided to
play a trick on the villagers. The boy cries, Wolf! Wolf! and the villagers come running to help the
shepherd boy. When they get to the field and discover the boy was playing a trick on them they are
angry. Later, the boy is bored again and plays the same trick, the villagers come running to help and
again the boy laughs at them for falling for his trick. However, when an actual wolf comes and the boy
yells for help, the villagers think he is playing a trick on them again and don t come to help him.
Therefore, because of the events that take place the boy learns to be honest or when it counts no one
will believe you. The literary concept displayed in The boy who cried wolf is irony. The young

The Importance Of Prenatal Screening
Many Christians could come to the conclusion that prenatal screening in pregnancy can cause you to
say the words It is bad that you exist! I personally don t believe in this saying, but the question is why
and what makes them think this way? It s the concept that now we are turning a tentative commitment
for mothers into one that is more conditional. We are pushing off the natural attachment that occurs
while the baby is still inside the mother until we see if the baby is to our standards, then we make the
decision to keep the baby or not. As well as the overuse of the test in everyday life, which really was
originated to test Rh factor in blood for the mother and baby. The overuse of this test can lead to
severe problems in which people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that prenatal screening is essential to life. Although a prenatal screening can not diagnose
what a baby will have later on in life, it can diagnose what it has now. There is nothing wrong with
wanting to know whether or not your baby will be born healthy or not. In our world today, raising a
baby with health difficulties is hard. It is a lot of extra patient, time, money, and stress. It s hard for a
family to just give up their personal unborn child, but it reality you have to take up challenges you can
handle. I don t think it is fair to force a family to have a baby with health difficulties, when they know
they are not capable of taking care of he or she. This can lead to the death of a child in a non abortion
sense as well as sickness in the caregivers. If a caregiver is not capable of providing care for the child,
they are going to be under a lot of mental stress and/or depression which is very unhealthy. I
personally agree with the idea that you know yourself better than anyone else. A mother knows what
she needs to do when she finds out whether her baby is healthy or whether it is not. I think prenatal
screening is useful and should be left up to the mother to decide the outcome of her baby or in other
terms express the phrase it is good(and justified) that you

International Trade Is An Effective Stimulation Of...
Engaging in international trade is an effective stimulation of economic growth. David Ricardo s
principle of comparative advantage argues while nations involved in international trade, a country will
become specialised in producing a product that has the lowest relative costs. (Economist, 2015) By
focusing on the production onto a limited scope of product or industries, firms or the nation will
experience rise in productivity due to higher efficiency in allocation and utilisation of resources. As
the process of specialisation will cause reallocation of other less efficient resources, nations, as a
result, will import products that are less efficiently produced from other countries. While different
nations specialising in different goods and services, a greater variety and cheaper products will
become available for consumption, improving the quality and quantity of consumption by all nations.
To determine whether developing nations are experiencing disadvantage in the international trade, it
requires a careful examination with Porter s Diamond factor endowments. It analysis a nation s
competitiveness under four categories: factor endowments, demand condition, related and supporting
industries and firm strategy, structure and rivalry.
Factor endowments meaning the availability of resources and skills, which can further categorise into
basic and advanced factor. To fully utilise the potentials within a nation (Basic factor), it requires
policy set by different parties such

2. Those with a devastating illness often have a need to tell their stories. How can others ensure that
they are able to tell their stories, and how does telling one s story impact the way patients are treated?
Sometimes listening is the best way to help someone out. I believe that someone would be able to
make sure a person story was told by listening and possibly sharing the experience with others. In the
case of Jean Dominique, he utilized a book contract he had before the accident to express his story.
Through this book I could visual all the amazing traveling expeditions he went on. When he talked
about walking down the street of Lourdes and seeing all the people making their way down this path
hoping for a miracle, it struck me. He was able to discuss this event and relate it to his current
predicament. I feel like in other instances, a person can tell their stories through vocal recordings,
speaking with loved ones, creating illustrations, or even sharing pictures. A person might take part in
one of those activities and then ask or make note of their wishes for those stories to be shared. My

Pediatric National Health Service ( Nhs )
Introduction
In 2013, surgeon specific outcome data were made publicly available across a range of surgical
specialties by the English National Health Service (NHS). This initial stimulus was the Kennedy
Inquiry in 2001, whereby two surgeons were disciplined for having mortality rates that exceeded the
norm, and led to the reporting of surgeon specific mortality data for all cardiothoracic surgery units in
the UK (1). Following this, mounting pressures for increased transparency and disclosure within
healthcare arose, stemming from instances such as the 2005 Freedom of Information Act request filed
by the Guardian newspaper and the Francis report (2). These led to the eventual publication of
Surgeon specific mortality data (SSMD), presenting the crude risk adjusted mortality rates for
individual surgeons over a number of surgical procedures. Besides the stated aim of increasing
transparency, further drivers of SSMD publication were to enhance patient safety by enabling the
detection of underperforming surgeons regarded as outliers , deliver improved data for healthcare
commissioners, and to aid the public in making informed decisions about their care (3). However,
since its release there has been much controversy surrounding the meaningfulness of SSMD due to its
potential negative impact (4).
Concerns over the quality of the data have been raised as the initial SSMD was derived from existing
national surgical audit databases. However, the designs of these audits were not

Lego s Partnership With Oil Interests And The Destruction...
On July 8th, 2014, Greenpeace released a video criticizing LEGO s partnership with oil giant Shell.
The video, which has become a rallying point for environmental groups, sought to force LEGO to end
its partnership with Shell due to Shell s plans to implement offshore drilling in the Arctic. Fearing that
the drilling would lead to a massive oil spill which could destroy the Arctic ecosystem, Greenpeace
used the video to garner worldwide attention to the issue. Painting the relationship between LEGO and
Shell as promoting oil interests and the destruction of the Artic gave Greenpeace an environmental
issue that the rest of the world could identify with. Keeping the Arctic and its ecosystem intact is in
the interests of people globally, which made the video advertisement even more potent.
Factual Assertions
Evaluating Greenpeace s ad for factual claims proves to be a tricky affair. Since the medium used is
LEGOs, their ability to portray real life situations is a little distorted. While this does not take away
from the effectiveness of the ad, it makes it harder to determine what is actually factual.
The most obvious factual claim in the ad would be the partnership that has existed between Shell and
LEGO. This relationship has been in place through a series of co branding deals since the 1960s.
LEGO and Shell agreed to create a set of toys that carries the Shell logo and would be sold at gasoline
stations worldwide. The intended effect was to put LEGOs in the hands of more

Terrorism And Islamic Terrorism
September 11th is a day that nobody will ever forget, it was such a terrible tragedy and we lost many
people because of it. This attack was made out of hatred and tremendously impacted the government
and citizens of the United States. This attack was rooted in a hatred that has existed for thousands of
years between Jews in Israel and its Islamic neighbors. Because of the United States support for Israel
and the Gulf Wars where the United States stopped Iraqi aggression, the United States has become a
target of Islamic terrorism. It was such a serious and harmful incident and it forever changed
American Society and by influencing the country to make new laws and as a result, its citizens have

it began in Arabia, which is now commonly known as Saudi Arabia and is where Muhammad was

Tacoma Narrows Bridge Tragedies
The masterful works of art, known as bridges, are some of the most complex structures people design.
With absurdly complicated bridges, like the Lucky Knot Bridge in China, to an everyday bridge that

services which can be provided in the off campus program can be Case Management, Individual
Counseling, Crisis Intervention, Ambulatory Detoxification amp; Patient Assessment. Group

help Bridgestone to promote certain services like Urinalysis, Individual amp; Group Counselling
through advertisements and other promotional activities. Moreover, the individual contribution margin
allows us to see how each category is performing. * Another important aspect to be noted is that,

  • 2. Liz Murray Thesis Reaching the Top Last year, there were 1,926 homeless students enrolled in public school,.. (Goldberg N.P.). In the United States, many homeless children skip school and lose hope about improving their life. One of those children decided to change their life and that person was called Liz Murray. Liz Murray and her older sister, Lisa, were children of two drug addicts. Her parents, who would neglect her and Lisa, caused Liz to get head lice and for Liz and Lisa to go days without some proper food. Her parents spent any penny they had on drugs. • 5. Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose, 1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic (Hornychová, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern s political misdemeanours. The procedure is comparable to gastric banding in that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO), compressing the outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail. (CQUniversity, 2015) What is the Sphincter of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L. McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities, injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure ... Their first strategy was to defeat Germany and after they ll go after Japan. America planned it as soon as they would stabilize in the southwestern Pacific. Their plan was to make a cross channel invasion of Europe from Britain. The Allies could nt have enough ships to invade Europe before the next spring of 1942. Their next thought was to plan a bomb on Germany. During they would wait and send war materials to the Soviet armies fighting Germany in Russia. Again I would like to encourage you to just imagine how terrible would it be if the cost of transportation or anything else in New York City were to double over night. The very fact that voters are responsible for changing or keeping the country s leadership means that this development should be a concern not only to a few individuals but also to the whole nation. The government, political parties, and focus and interest groups have tried to find ways to increase the motivation to vote while easing the voting process. Some conservative people tend to vote to Republican, while some people tend to vote Democratic. Voters have their own political attitudes, and these attitudes determine how society goes, whom they are voting for, and what kind of political parties they are supporting. Many elements have the ability to contribute the political attitudes, such as family, gender, education, income, religion, age, race, and etc. According to Ginsberg et al., the first place where people start forming their beliefs on politics is their families and society (148). This idea explains the reason some areas in the U.S. have more Democratic representatives while others have the majority of their residents being Republicans. The fact that most people possess these ideals means that in the event that the candidates in a ballot do not have the qualities that a particular group of voters is looking for, these voters will not partake in voting. When the impact of race in political socialization is factored in, it becomes increasingly evident that some people of one race are unlikely to spend their time voting for a candidate who does not represent their beliefs pertaining to racial issues. For instance, African Americans perception of the extent of racism is different from that of whites. This has a significant bearing on the motivation of voters from each divide to participate in an election (Ginsberg et al. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I think people should always try to avoid hurting other people, but if you could save five people and only one person die, would you do it? For example in the first situation where there are two ways the train can go with workers on it, with no brakes, and it can either hit five workers and save the one, or save five, and kill one worker by going down another track. The train driver has to decide quickly what to choose. Either way someone has to die, should it be five people or one? I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But the term actually includes both legal and illegal conduct. The legal version is when corporate insiders officers, directors, and employees buy and sell stock in their own companies. The Enron insiders would have sold their shares and the price would have corrected itself and the disaster might have been avoided. Investors could have allocated their money towards more promising investments, which in turn would increase market efficiency. With legalizing insider trading, stock prices would be more efficient with the ability to acquire more information. Illegal trading is still common and some may say it is actually growing. It is a three dimensional puzzle originally invented and developed by Erno Rubik to serve the purpose of a mathematical aid in the 1970 s but unexpectedly evolved into what is now considered to be the world s top selling toy. Erno Rubik was a young professor teaching interior design and architecture in Hungary when he first created the object. He created an object that was not supposed to be possible. His solid cube twisted and turned and still did not break or fall apart. Rubik first invented the cube, formerly known as the Magic Cube to help explain three dimensional geometry to his students. The puzzle is in the form of a cube made up of smaller, coloured interlocking cubes that can be manipulated by twisting the horizontal and vertical planes. Initially before the cube has been manipulated each face of the cube is covered in a different colour. Meaning when you twist and turn the cube away from its original orientation the colours on each face will be jumbled. Although it has now been made apparent that every legal permutation of the Rubik s cube can be solved in 20 moves or fewer, it has been reported, the first time Rubik jumbled the cube it took him a month to solve it. Firstly: Funerary Scenes Funerary Scenes were the most common scenes in the New kingdom tombs as they were represented on the walls of the longitudinal corridor (Passage) until the reign of Anenhotep III as they were illustrated on the walls of the transverse hall. Funerary scenes included many consecutive events started with purification process, mummification, and transportation of the deceased body to the tomb through a funerary procession after the pilgrimage to Abydos then opening of the mouth ritual in front of the tomb as one of the burring rituals. 1 Opening of the Mouth This ritual was acted in front of the tomb in order to enable the deceased to speak, eat, see, hear and move again in the netherworld as well as it helps him to retrieve all his power and abilities in addition to preparing him with magic to face the dangers afterlife. It didn t appear in the 18th dynasty tombs in a large scale until the reign of Tuthmosis III. It is very important to mention that there were many successive steps in the procession of opening of the mouth as the sacrifice rituals to the Upper and Lower Egypt in which the priests offered the heart and the foreleg of the bull to the mummy or the statue of the deceased. Although a prenatal screening can not diagnose what a baby will have later on in life, it can diagnose what it has now. There is nothing wrong with wanting to know whether or not your baby will be born healthy or not. In our world today, raising a baby with health difficulties is hard. It is a lot of extra patient, time, money, and stress. It s hard for a family to just give up their personal unborn child, but it reality you have to take up challenges you can handle. I don t think it is fair to force a family to have a baby with health difficulties, when they know they are not capable of taking care of he or she. This can lead to the death of a child in a non abortion sense as well as sickness in the caregivers. If a caregiver is not capable of providing care for the child, they are going to be under a lot of mental stress and/or depression which is very unhealthy. David Ricardo s principle of comparative advantage argues while nations involved in international trade, a country will become specialised in producing a product that has the lowest relative costs. (Economist, 2015) By focusing on the production onto a limited scope of product or industries, firms or the nation will experience rise in productivity due to higher efficiency in allocation and utilisation of resources. As the process of specialisation will cause reallocation of other less efficient resources, nations, as a result, will import products that are less efficiently produced from other countries. While different nations specialising in different goods and services, a greater variety and cheaper products will become available for consumption, improving the quality and quantity of consumption by all nations. To determine whether developing nations are experiencing disadvantage in the international trade, it requires a careful examination with Porter s Diamond factor endowments. It analysis a nation s competitiveness under four categories: factor endowments, demand condition, related and supporting industries and firm strategy, structure and rivalry. Factor endowments meaning the availability of resources and skills, which can further categorise into basic and advanced factor. I believe that someone would be able to make sure a person story was told by listening and possibly sharing the experience with others. In the case of Jean Dominique, he utilized a book contract he had before the accident to express his story. Through this book I could visual all the amazing traveling expeditions he went on. Pediatric National Health Service ( Nhs ) Introduction In 2013, surgeon specific outcome data were made publicly available across a range of surgical specialties by the English National Health Service (NHS). This initial stimulus was the Kennedy Inquiry in 2001, whereby two surgeons were disciplined for having mortality rates that exceeded the norm, and led to the reporting of surgeon specific mortality data for all cardiothoracic surgery units in the UK (1). Following this, mounting pressures for increased transparency and disclosure within healthcare arose, stemming from instances such as the 2005 Freedom of Information Act request filed by the Guardian newspaper and the Francis report (2). These led to the eventual publication of Surgeon specific mortality data (SSMD), presenting the crude risk adjusted mortality rates for individual surgeons over a number of surgical procedures. Besides the stated aim of increasing transparency, further drivers of SSMD publication were to enhance patient safety by enabling the detection of underperforming surgeons regarded as outliers , deliver improved data for healthcare commissioners, and to aid the public in making informed decisions about their care (3). However, since its release there has been much controversy surrounding the meaningfulness of SSMD due to its potential negative impact (4). Concerns over the quality of the data have been raised as the initial SSMD was derived from existing national surgical audit databases. However, the designs of these audits were not ... The video, which has become a rallying point for environmental groups, sought to force LEGO to end its partnership with Shell due to Shell s plans to implement offshore drilling in the Arctic. Fearing that the drilling would lead to a massive oil spill which could destroy the Arctic ecosystem, Greenpeace used the video to garner worldwide attention to the issue. Keeping the Arctic and its ecosystem intact is in the interests of people globally, which made the video advertisement even more potent. While this does not take away from the effectiveness of the ad, it makes it harder to determine what is actually factual. The most obvious factual claim in the ad would be the partnership that has existed between Shell and LEGO. This relationship has been in place through a series of co branding deals since the 1960s. Before the industrial revolution, art and the appreciation of art was a preserve of the rich. These people commissioned artists to produce works, and the patrons would then display these works. The simpler folks would admire the work for its beauty and accuracy of depiction, and also admire the patrons for their ability to commission such a work. It was the true mark of culture. The industrial revolution however resulted into increased resources for everyone.
