Avoiding Probate In New Jersey
The process of dividing and distributing a person s assets after death, called probate, can be time
consuming and expensive. In order to avoid probate and save their families the hassle of hiring
attorneys and waiting months to receive the gifts mentioned in a will, many people structure their
estates in a way that circumvents the probate court system. In New Jersey, an experienced estate
planning attorney can draft documents which transfer ownership of real estate, bank accounts, or other
property immediately after a person s death without the added inconvenience of going to court.
However, these types of transfers only work if property is title correctly and the estate plan is updated
frequently. Avoiding Probate During probate court proceedings, ... Show more content on

When two people own property together as joint tenants, there is a right of survivorship after death.
For example, if a father and daughter purchased a car together, both would each own a one half
interest in the car and would each have the right to use the vehicle during their lifetimes. After one
person dies, their one half interest automatically transfers to the other person, without needing to go
through the probate court. Joint tenancy can be used for nearly every type of property, including real
estate, bank accounts, and general personal property. In New Jersey, married couples who own
property in joint tenancy are said to take the property as tenants by the entirety. Both joint tenancy and
tenancy by the entirety work in exactly the same way to avoid probate. There are several drawbacks to
joint tenancy which may be a cause for concern. First, joint tenancy allows each owner equal rights to
use the property. For example, if two people owned a bank account in joint tenancy, there is nothing
which would prevent one owner from emptying the account before the other s death. In addition, joint
tenancy would not prevent an estate from going to probate if both joint tenants died simultaneously,
like in a car crash or other accident. Living

A Streetcar Named Desire By Blanche Dubois
The character of Blanche Dubois in the play A Streetcar Named Desire is depicted as a victim of her
traditional southern upbringing, she struggles to find her place in society where the values of a
Southern Belle are no longer relevant nor exist. Blanche Dubois is portrayed as the weaker sex, who is
then over powered by Stanley Kowalski, her sister s working class husband. Blanche Dubois shows a
great psychological instability when she is unable to live up to the expectations of a classic and proper
Southern Belle. This psychological instability ultimately leads to her to have a metal breakdown, the
play ends with Blanche being committed to a mental institution.
Blanche Dubois was raised on the social standard of Southern Belle and her primary goal in life was,
according to Southern tradition, was to seek the security of marriage. Unfortunately, she chooses
suitors who are not the best companions. Blanche marries Allan Grey for love at a very young age
only to find her dreams shattered by her husband s infidelity with another man. Blanche displays deep
seated psychological instability when she is unable to live up to her expectations as a properly raised
Southern belle and also by Stanley s brutally raping of her, which was to exert his domination over a
female victim.
To understand Blanch Dubois mental state, we must understand the ideology of the Southern Belle.
Southern belles were raised as sheltered, beautiful, and chaste daughters to become idyllically

Livestock Show Research Paper
Showing hogs is something many people have not done and maybe not even heard of, contraily I have
had a success in showing market hogs that helped me grow. Preparation for a livestock show takes
place over a number of months that involves teaching a hog to walk under the direction of a show
whip, feeding with the correct about of protein, and cleaning the pig in addition to the stall. I was
interested in showing livestock so I worked my hardest on my project from the day I got my pig until
the day of our show. On the day of the Tulsa County Livestock show I knew my hog was ready,
consequently so was I. We walked into the show ring and we worked our hardest to give the judge the
best image of my hog as we could present. The judge placed us 3rd,

April Morning By Howard Fast Analysis
A redcoat soldier raised his musket, leveled it at Father, and fired (Fast 100). April Morning is written
by Howard Fast and takes place on April 17th, 1775 at the start of the revolutionary war in Lexington,
Massachusetts. Moses Cooper is a major character and also the antagonist to Adam because he and
Adam are always fighting and Moses doesn t let Adam grow up. Although Moses was hard to
understand, he was an affectionate, opinionated and respected man. Moses and affection do not go
hand and hand and its only sometimes when he says he loves Adam. Hate him! My father exploded.
Of all the crazy notions! Of all the idiotic ideas! There a boy, my first born son why how could any
man love a son any more than I love that boy? Now where could he have gotten an idea as
unreasonable as that (Fast 45)? Moses is now realizing how Adam feels about him and although
Moses does not say he loves him outright, Adam hears him and has a new perspective of his dad.
Moses realizes that his words have a bigger impact on Adam than he thinks. Come to think about it, I
have been hard on the boy. That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Cooper describes him as very argumentative. He had strong feelings towards people who held
slaves and thought they were some of the worst people. My father, on the other hand, held that slavers
were the lowest form of life existents on earth, the devil in the flesh, the Haman of our time (Fast 33).
Moses uses many descriptive words show how he feels and he has opinions just as strong about how
to handle the British. We have a position and principles... and if they do come and see that we stand
firm with some show of force, why, then they ll respect us (Fast 74). The last thing Moses wanted to
do was to fight the British, he didn t believe in fighting and thought the town could just talk the British
out of war. Using his strong opinions, Moses became a very respected person in his

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Peer To Peer Lenders
Peer to Peer lending is a unique method that links borrowers and lenders relatively quick and
inexpensive without financial intermediaries. With technological advances in recent years including
the boom of electronic money, transactions in peer to peer lending programs have become more and
more commonly used around the globe. This type of financial service carries both advantages (peer to
peer communities have a quick and easy online application process for both lenders and borrowers
(Schneider 2008)) and disadvantages (potential exposure to more risk) for those lending their funds as
well as people taking out these loans.
Borrowers can experience unique advantages through peer to peer lending compared to other types of
financial loan methods. For example, If a potential borrower bears a shaky financial history but a
sympathetic story as to why they think they should qualify for a loan, a lender can still grant a loan
and choose to undergo a higher rate of return, assuming there is greater risk to fund this loan
(Schneider 2008). Financial institutions such as banks or credit unions that would normally turn away
these people, borrowers have an increased opportunity with peer to peer lending (Schneider 2008).
Additionally, a borrower gets a more favorable interest rate on their loan than one would otherwise
have gotten from funding elsewhere say through a bank or a credit card company because they have a
pool of potential lenders to choose from (Investopedia 2017).

Loie Fuller And The Cabinet Of Dr. Calligari
What distinguishes Lotte Reiniger s work from other animators is she created film from silhouette
animation. Silhouette animation is cardboard cut outs or images that are black. Her work can be
compared to puppets, but in cardboard form. (Think of shadow play story telling) Loie Fuller was a
famous dancer and creator of theoretical lighting techniques. The role she played in popularizing
cinema with her stage lighting creations, such as color gels, luminescent lights, as well as garments.

The Creation Of A Wolf-Rayet Star
Abstract
Stars are made from an interstellar gas cloud. It was believed that in the process of forming a star, the
cloud released material onto the interstellar disk in which the stars gradually accumulated it. However,
because some stars seemed to have a drastic increase of brightness in a short amount of time, this idea
had to be reconsidered. The stars that went through this process seemed to maintain their high
luminosity for about 100 years. Astrophysicist Eduard Vorobyov suggested the idea that the material
surrounding a forming star fragments off into clumps and is consumed by the star in a process that he
describes as cannibalism on astronomical scales. Because these clumps are large, they release a large
amount of energy when consumed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stars usually lose their outer layers, which are mostly composed of hydrogen. As is known,
many stars in our universe are binary star systems; binary star systems allow for the pair of stars to
exchange mass and gravitationally affect one another. Because Wolf Rayet stars are usually in binary
systems, astronomers hypothesize that the star is growing because it is exchanging mass with the other
star essentially, it is gradually consuming the other star. Since the Wolf Rayet star is surrounded by a
large disk, it is possible that the Wolf Rayet is forming a nebula (a disk) where star formation may
occur, (5). The forming star now undergoes its own process of, as Voyobyov puts it, cannibalism on
astronomical scales, (4). As observed with hydrodynamic simulations, ...gravitationally unstable disks
can exhibit FU Orionis type outbursts when fragments are driven onto the protostar..., (2). In other
words, more mass added to the disk that surrounds a forming star would make the disk unstable and
cause fragmenting to occur. Hence, the fragments will most likely interact with the forming star
causing these outbursts of energy (3). The outbursts of energy are caused by both of the reasons stated
previously. According to astronomers, the one idea that has been ruled out, however, is that these stars
are growing to the size of a Wolf Rayet star solely by their stellar winds. In fact, their

Romance in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley Essay
Romance in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley The Romantic Movement in England, and subsequently in
America, occurred in the late 18th to the early 19th centuries. In her novel Frankenstein, Mary Shelley
conforms to many literary trends that were used by the romantics. One literary trend of the romantic
era is for the story to be set in a very remote or foreign place. Possibly, the purpose of having a story
set in a foreign place was to create a realm that is entirely different from the known world of the
reader. After all, for a monster in an apartment in the middle of London would hardly have been
believable. Above all, the Romantic writer s objective was to create new and/or different worlds so
that their readers would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, since Victor bases his creation on a situation such as death is can also be ruled gothic. After
the death of his mother Victor begins his voyage to find himself. He is on his way to the great
unknown, experiencing something new, and possibly trying something that has never been tried
before. It can also be viewed as romantic because this departure from his mother may have leaded him
to find life somewhere else. Victor started to believe that he could bring people back from the grave.
Playing with nature in such a way would make him play the role of God. Victor felt that he had no true
friends, the only relief he had of expressing his feeling was through letters to Elizabeth. He
desperately tries to befriend members of society, but utterly fails at each attempt. Both his mother s
absence and his loneliness may have leaded him to create his creature. Male dominancy is a huge
characteristic of gothic work done in the 18th and 19th centuries; Shelly exemplifies this in many
ways. After the death of his mother, a man now leads Victor s house. Victor goes off to an all male
school where he is surrounded my nothing but males. Victor became so self absorbed into his project
that he seem to forget all that was important to him. As he gets further into the making of his monster

Objectivity And The Phenomenological Reduction
Objectivity is a funny way of people justifying their own subjections. Edmund Husserl is the guy to
talk to if you want to be confused by what objectivity means. I say confused, because Husserl s path
through the end product of the phenomenological reduction leads him to contradictions, which
generate revisions of his investigation. Eventually his revisions lead to a happy phenomenological
objective ending and will be discussed along with another objectivity viewpoint: The View from
Nowhere. Lastly I ll give you my objective/subjective opinion on which objectivity I think is more
convincing. Objectivity to Husserl is what he considered the phenomenological reduction. The aim of
the initial phenomenological reduction is to individuate correctly the domain of pure consciousness as
the domain of meaning constitution (Moran 78). I ll attempt to use logic as an example: the proper
object of logic is to study the relationship between the contents of expressions and what is being
expressed; Modus Ponens states that if p then q is accepted, and the antecedent p holds, then the
consequent q may be inferred. Logic is only interested in the functional relation between the truth
value of p and q in the domain where Modus Ponens is applicable. Because logic, in one domain is
only interested in the functional relation between p and q, its overall truth value is limited to a one
sided truth. Logic deals with validities and the laws in which hold between them. Ideal laws of

sociodemographic segmentation. The women s health clinic might ascertain a specific communication

way the women s health clinic can segment its market is psychographically through social class. The

social classes in the area that would appeal women to utilize their services. A third major way the

THE PUBLIC BIKE SYSTEM COMPANY AND THE BIXI SYSTEM
The development of the Bixi system started with a decision made by the Montreal city council to
provide the city with a bike sharing system. The decision was part of Reinvent Montreal : an
ambitious program that aimed to significantly reduce automobile dependence by 2020. Initial funding
was provided for the project, with the expectation of the system to become self sufficient within a year
of its launch.
Contrary to other cities that outsourced their systems to outside operators, Montreal was to run the
system itself. A system run and operated by the city could provide greater coordination with the bus
and subway system, which was perceived as an important advantage. The program was also to be
funded through membership fees: opportunities for advertisement revenues (which are typically used
to cover the operating expenses of bike sharing systems) were estimated to be too limited in Montreal
to offer a viable option. The mandate for the bike sharing system was given to the Montreal Parking
Authority.
The Montreal Parking Authority was considered less bureaucratic than other city departments, and it
was believed that they were in a position to move the project forward within a short timeframe. It also
had the advantage of being knowledgeable about the transit system.
It was Roger Plamondon, President and CEO of the Montreal Parking Authority, who was in charge of
the project. To fulfill his mission,

The Feminist Analysis
For decades, women have been continuously fighting for equality with men and because of their
reluctance to never give up their fight, women have gained many more rights throughout the years.
The feminist ideology is incorporated in Pride and Prejudice through Elizabeth Bennett and her blatant
reluctance to marry a man any reason other than love. Feminism is still incredibly relevant in today s
society and is very important because to this day, men and women are not considered and treated as
equals. The feminist movement is such a great movement because it has so many pros to it. A pro of
the feminist movement is that it raises awareness to the unequal treatment of men and women. If the

Evaluating The Security Of A System Or Computer Network
Introduction
In this report I will explain three penetrations methods. The three methods are: OSSTMM Method,
DOS and VMs penetrations testing.
A penetration test is a method to evaluate the security of a system or computer network. This method
allows to simulate an attack and find exploitable vulnerabilities to propose an action plan to improve
the security.
There are two types of penetration testing: the pentest in Black Box or pentest in White Box. The
pentester in Black Box mode really puts in the skin of an external attacker, he has no information on
the target. The pentester in White Box mode work in collaboration with the DSI and the technical
team in order to get maximum information for the penetration test.
The objective of pentester can vary according to context:
 List a set of information found in one way or another, and which may be sensitive or critical.
 List the vulnerabilities or weaknesses in the security system that can be exploited.
 Demonstrate that a potential attacker s capacity to find vulnerabilities and exploit them to break into
the information system.
 Test the effectiveness of intrusion detection systems and responsiveness of the security team, and
sometimes users.
 Perform a final presentation and reporting its progress and its findings to the client.
 Provide ideas and advise on methods of resolution and correction of discovered vulnerabilities.
Nowadays the security of systems or network are constantly changing, quickly evolving, we

Sea World Gold Coast Australia is a marine animal theme park. The park includes rides, shows and
marine attractions. Sea World founded Sea World Research Rescue Foundation Inc. (SWRRFI) which
committed to promote a number of marine research projects and rescue marine organisms activities.
Sea World s goals are to strengthen knowledge for youth about the ocean habitat and ecology of the
marine lives, encourage the public about the marine biodiversity conservation and promote youth
education and public awareness. Positioning Sea World as teach through lively activities is also a
priority.
Past media coverage of Sea World has been largely marine mammal topics based, with little
substantial discussion around animal conservation or Sea World information. Although the media port
of Sea World provides several marine animal contents, it leads to the media relations problem: Sea
World s media releases tend to using marketing strategies that have resulted in an increasing lack of
credibility in marine mammal conservation. This does not align with Sea World goals of youth
education and strengthened public awareness.
An opportunity therefore exists for Sea World to improve awareness of marine conservation,
ecological populations and research to marine animals in the short term via media coverage in
connection with SWRRF in Queensland.

Introduction A key component of any ecosystem on Earth is the presence of plants. Within these
plants, variation and diversity are abundant. Plants can vary in many characteristics, such as leaf
structure, height, bark structure, and diameter at breast height. The culmination of this variety among
plants is termed the biodiversity of plants, which encompasses three realms: species diversity, genetic
diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Species diversity pertains to the variety of species in a specific
ecosystem. Genetic diversity refers to variation in specific traits among individuals of the same
species. Finally, ecosystem diversity refers to the variation of ecosystems in a specific area. For
purposes of this study, we will only focus on species diversity. Studying species diversity of plants
entails measuring the amount and size of different species in a given area. The importance of this type
of study stretches far beyond observation and results. Species diversity among plants in an ecosystem
is vital to the sustainability of that ecosystem. An ecosystem with greater species diversity uses its
resources more efficiently, making it more productive. In addition, greater plant diversity leads to
greater community biomass due to reduced nutrient loss and increased carbon reserves (Tilman et al.,
1997). Our study primarily

Jay Book Research Paper
Jay received the inbound pass in the last two minutes of the game.As time was ticking on the
clock,Jay pushed the ball down the court, looking to score, but instead decided to kick the ball out to
his open teammate Jordan Plaster, which led to a buzzer beating shot to send the boys to the playoffs.
Jay Book was one of the , or if not the most popular kid in school. Everyone wanted to be Jay Book.
He was also the star point guard of the basketball team at Berea High School. He was a ladies man for
sure, sometimes teachers would catch him skipping class just to be with a girl. The bulldogs have their

The bulldogs must win this game in order to advance to the second round. Everyone is depending on
Jay Book to get it done, and to bring home the state championship. Katie and Aislyn are clearly staring
Jay down. I think he has noticed by now that he may have two love females that kind of have the
googly eyes for him. I m pretty sure at the end of the game he will say something to them, because I
have never heard or saw, with my own eyes,Jay not talk to a girl. Especially if he thinks they re cute.
The third quarter ends and the score is still a close one. Berea has 73 and Walhall has 69. As the
bulldogs get into their huddle Katie and Jay make eye contact. Katie felt like it was love at first
sight, but I m not so sure Jay was thinking the same thing. As they get out of the huddle Jay tells Katie
to hml which means (Hit My Line). That made Katie blush so much. Jay reminds himself that he
needs to stay focused on the game. He can t lose the game and let not only his teammates down, but
also everybody in the whole town down. Then everyone would call him Choke Book. The fourth

Free Is A Free Country
My people living in The United States take being a free country for granted. Many citizens do not
realize how many different countries are not free, or only partial free. One country that is partially free
is Papua New Guinea, this country is located north of Australia, which is a free country. A country that
is not free is Zimbabwe, which is located in the continent of Africa. Africa has countries that are free,
partially, and not free. However they are mainly not free. People who live in a non free or partially
free country live very different live than people in a free country. Countries run their government in
many different ways. Some countries use a majority rule and others choose a different route. The
United States is run by a president that serves a four year term, and is elected by the people. The
president is supported by the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. In Papua New
Guinea, a partially free country, is run by a unicameral that is voted by the people. Voters have the
option of voting for up to three people, and the candidate with the most votes wins. There are 111
members in the National Parliament. According to DemocracyWeb, the governor general, who
represents the United Kingdom s monarch as head of state, formally appoints the prime minister, who
leads the majority party or coalition in the legislature (1). This is an example of how the government
continues to take control of the people of Papua New Guinea. Unlike

The Merchant Of Venice, Antony And Cleopatra, And Dr Faustus
Whilst the writer s selection of place bears great significance throughout many eras, the Renaissance
period is particularly fascinating in relation to setting. These playwrights were living through an
extraordinary and unprecedented flowering of drama and, consequentially, were afforded opportunities
that would have been unimaginable even a century before. The flourishing of drama necessitated the
creation of playhouses, in which setting could be conveyed more accurately and elaborately than in
the millennia that preceded. The combination of the uninhibited creativity associated with the
Renaissance and the realisation of the new possibilities of the commercial stage facilitated an
extremely nuanced and complex exploration of setting and place; providing us with some of the most
memorable and meaningful settings ever featured in literature. Setting provides a unique opportunity,
if chosen astutely, for the playwright to communicate narrative, and shape character, without having to
explicitly or linguistically express it. I intend to focus The Merchant of Venice, Antony and Cleopatra,
and Dr Faustus in order to display how setting directly affects the plot and often aids in forging our
understanding of identities within the play. Through consideration of the implications and ideals
attached to the settings presented throughout the texts, we can more accurately infer the sentiments of
the writer and understand the ways in which place gives impetus to plot.

Essay on My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George
My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George
This book is told from the diary of the main character, Sam Gribley. Sam is a boy full of
determination. He didn t give up and go home like everyone thought he would. He is strong of mind.
After the first night in the freezing rain, with no fire and no food, he still went on. He is a born
survivor. He lasted the winter, through storms, hunger, and loneliness, and came out on top even when
everyone expected him to fail. The land is no place for a Gribley p. 9
The story starts out with Sam remembering how he first got to be in his tree in the Catskills. A run

apartment. None of them liked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some other animals however did not become Sam s dinner, but his friends. The weasel, who when
they first met yelled and screamed at him, jumped on him, went to his head, messed it up, screamed
and yelled some more and walked away. Sam named him the Baron due to his royal behavior. Another
friend of his was a raccoon, which he dubbed, Jessie Coon James.
As I had pointed out before his diet was varied. Among the things he ate were: caught fresh mussels,
trout, frogs, turtles, and crayfish. He ate apples, wild strawberries, wild dandelion greens, bloodroots,
and cattail roots. He made salt from boiling birch bark to season his food with. He did manage to
retrieve a deer a poacher had shot. That was pretty scary though, as the poacher came to his camp
looking for the deer. After skinning the deer he tanned the hide in an old oak stump. He felled the
stump, burned a hole in it, and put the deerskin in it for five days, then took it out to dry. He was able
to dry deer meat, make a door for his house, made leg straps (called jesses) for Frightful, and used the
bones for spearheads.
One day in the woods he noticed a falcon, watched it, felt she had a nest, followed her, climb the steep
sheer cliffs, and retrieved a young falcon. The mother came back to the nest just as Sam was taking
the bird. She attacked Sam until she discovered there were still two more babies in the nest. Sam
named his falcon Frightful, as the experience was just that.

Theme Of Personal Resilience In The Parable Of The Sower
The theoretical notion of personal resilience has been long explored. Charles Darwin a famous
philosopher proclaims It is not the strongest that survives, but the species that survives is the one that
is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself (Megginson).
Essentially, people are able to survive, if they adapt to the world around them. Octavia E. Butler
creates this notion in her dystopian novel. In the year of 1993, Octavia E. Butler wrote the novel
Parable of the Sower. Lauren Olamina, the main character in the novel, narrates the story through her
viewpoint. Lauren describes the horrendous and corrupt world around her and notes of the population

integrates religious symbols into her everyday life. Plants seed themselves by means of wind, water, or
animals. They are dispersed through an external force, despite the conditions they are raised in they

Cma 76ers Research Paper
17. Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed their second
straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately the goal. To the confusion of
many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is going to plan in the city of brotherly love.
General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to
pay off for Philly at some point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a
respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel Embiid. Embiid is
one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being out of the league or a top 10 player in
the NBA five years from now. After missing his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be
forced to miss another season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if
Embiid could come back and avoid being labeled the next Greg Oden. Despite not having Embiid s

Essay about Media Violence
Television Perpetuates Violence
Bullets whizzing, knives twirling, fists flying not an uncommon sight on the television set of today.
From cartoons to sitcoms, television shows depict violent acts that go unpunished and contain no
painful consequences. This view of the world does not reflect reality nor does it teach our children the
values, morals or behaviors we constantly tell them to practice.
Many parents don t realize that their children view the most violence watching the most innocent of
shows. For example, Nickelodeon s Loony Tunes, actually contains 80 acts of violence per hour and
prime time shows register at 60 acts of violence per hour. Children s programs are the least likely to
show negative and harmful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But not to worry, the coyote immediately stood back up, and the only apparent effect of the incident
was a few stars twirling around his head.
Children watch television and believe they can survive such occurrences, just like those on TV. For
example, in 1992 the most violent prime time show, Young Indiana Jones , registered 60 acts of
violence per hour. And, of course, the characters always returned the next week with no injuries or
damages. This gives young minds a sense that they, too, are indestructible. Hundreds of programs
contain characters with immortal attitudes. Attitudes that rub off on children.
Even more disturbingly, some children begin to view the world as mean and dangerous as it appears
on television. Preschoolers lack the cognitive ability to distinguish fact from fantasy, especially
because the vividness of television makes everything seem quite real. Crime is at least ten times more
prevalent on TV as in the real world.(2) But children, and society, have a good reason to be worried.
Half of North America s murders and rapes can be attributed, either directly or indirectly, to television
viewing. Many times the criminal simply copies a television or movie plot. TV represents violence as
an appropriate way to solve interpersonal problems, to avenge slights and insults, make up for
injustice, and get what you want out of life.
Studies have shown that violent television directly affects children by reinforcing aggressive behavior.

Nigger Thesis
The book Nigger is an autobiography about Dick Gregory explaining the struggle he had to endure
growing up as a black man in America, his rise to fame, and involvement in the Civil Rights
Movement. Nigger also puts emphasis on the current topics of poverty, racism, struggle, and mental
slavery and how to free yourself from it. He shows this by explaining how becoming a man played an
instrumental role in a movement toward race equality, that America very much needed. Despite the
atmosphere he was raised in designed to produce hardships, whether by the color of his skin, his
family financial situation, or lack of education. He seems to build credibility throughout the book as

Dick Gregory just like other civil right activist s main goal is for complete racial equality. It is very
vibrant when he states Were ready to change a system where a white man can destroy a black man
with a single word. Nigger. When we re through momma, there won t be any niggers anymore.
Basically, affirming that he is trying to make a change where mere words, appearances, or race cannot
define a man or make him any less of a man. As he is conversing with his mother he is reiterating this
fact, because simply being called a nigger you are automatically deemed less equal. By eliminating the
word niggers all together equality is becoming a step closer. His work is very similar to those of
Martin Luther King s, which he marched with in several movements. Such as I have a dream that my

to be defined by character. Although he was recognized for his civil rights activist side, he is also

Analysis Of The House Of Leaves
House of leaves is another contemporary work that portrays insane character. In reference to the
House of leaves, it is obvious that the tension of madness is neither observable nor openly stated; a
phenomenon that reveals that madness is not easily detectable. This is what triggers Gothic plots to
have a positive development as they mainly focus on revealing the why and what of the occurrence of
an event. It is evident that wider experiences, techniques, psychological knowledge as well as
craftsmanship have tremendously advanced such that the earlier Gothic work seems artificial and
naïve (Lovecraft, 2013). As Crawford (2014) reveals, the theme of madness runs through most Gothic
narratives and is usually enunciated by the characters where they often question their own sanity or
that of their fellow characters.
Madness in Gothic is not simply a fictional aspect of genres. The theme also incorporates social
implications most notably when viewed in the perspective of Victorian England. Gothic madness
references in relation to literature ascended in the context of a society that is not only fascinated but
also repelled by madness (Punter, 2012). This is evident in Dracula by Bram Stoker where attempts of
containing madness has proven to have a reverse effect of concealing the periphery that separates mad
people from normal ones. In Stoker s film, Renfield, who is deemed as a mad person endeavors to
protect Mina from the wrath of Dracula, a phenomenon that presents the

Executive Summary
The issue that will be addressed in this plan is on more effective ways to reach the target market. The
Cheesecake Factory already have a strong presence in the USA. In the year 2011, The Cheesecake
Factory expanded its operations to the Middle East and opened its first restaurant out of USA at The
Dubai Mall. By the year 2015, the company had eight restaurants in the Middle East. Now the goal is
to focus on how to establish a more dominant presence international such as their competitors, for
instance, McDonald s.
The items sold at The Cheesecake Factory are reasonably priced so that a typical person can easily
manage to pay for the products. In the year 2016, the average meal cost of $21 22, which is reasonable
for a full service restaurant. To increase its customer base the brand has always implemented a
penetration pricing policy and has kept its prices lower than its competitors.
The best strategies of successful marketing for this company lies in word of mouth publicity, social
media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.), National Cheesecake Day, gift cards sold by
third parties (hotels, retail stores, etc.), and loyalty programs.

Other factors are how kids play with each other, their peers they are surrounded by, and the media.
Males tend to be more physical when they play indicating that they are more aggressive than females
are. Both males and females play different sports than females. An instance would be football, soccer,
and wrestling, compared to cheerleading, gymnastics, and volleyball for the girls. Football, soccer,
and wrestling are a more physical contact sport than cheerleading, gymnastics or volleyball are. Peers

children get older, peers plays a bigger part in influencing children to act a certain way according to

Catalytic Converter Failure
Today s newer vehicles come equipped with a catalytic converter. Designed to reduce emissions, the
catalytic converter is an important part of your vehicle. Unfortunately, like anything else mechanical,
the catalytic converter can break and fail. Luckily, you can reduce the amount of damage a failing
catalytic converter causes by knowing the warning signs.
So what are some symptoms that indicate your catalytic converter is failing? Here are three.
1. Reduced Acceleration and Engine Performance
Perhaps one of the most noticeable signs that your catalytic converter is having issues is reduced
acceleration and engine performance. Since the catalytic converter is built into the exhaust system, it
can easily affect your engine. If the converter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this will affect the performance of your vehicle, it s more likely that you ll notice the leak first.
After all, a leak is prominent. If you believe your catalytic converter is leaking, be sure to look for oil

2. Unusual Rattling Noise
Another symptom that your catalytic converter is damaged is an unusual rattling noise. In general,
your vehicle shouldn t make any odd or loud noises. If you do begin to hear a rattling sound, it s likely
that the meshes inside the converter are breaking. As these tiny pieces break, they cause a rattling
sound. As you might expect, this sound will continue to get worse over time as the converter
deteriorates. So if you hear this sound, get it addressed quickly to prevent serious damages to your
vehicle.
3. Pungent Exhaust Odors
Exhaust isn t pleasant to smell. However, if may become worse or much more noticeable when the
catalytic converter begins to fail. As fuel builds up in your converter, it will begin to burn and produce

vehicle more prone to fires. So if you smell anything unusual or pungent when driving your vehicle,

Analysis Of George Washington s Farewell Address
The document, George Washington, Farewell Address, was a letter written to the citizens of the United
States of America. It allowed outgoing President Washington to give advice on how to maintain the
nation after he was gone. He advised our politicians to act in good faith towards all nations and to
make an effort to keep peace with other countries. He cautioned to remain connected to God, maintain
high moral principles and to set a good example, one that is guided by a sense of justice and kindness.
He also advised that favoritism, not be shown toward or hostilities against other nations as this would
cloud our judgment. He told us to remain neutral and detached since that would keep the country from
being dragged into a fight. Having favorite nations could pull the nation into a war that it never
wanted to be involved in. A nation that has a devoted attachment to another could find itself involved
without merit in their affairs and might become controlled involuntarily by their actions. He implored
the people of this nation to not allow foreigners to influence our policies or our actions as a nation. He
advised us to trade freely with others, but keep politics at bay and to keep our already formed alliances
but create no more. He implored that America remain free of European entanglements and that due to
our location it should be easy to do. We have no business in their business. He advised that other

My Mexican Place
A semester is a long period of time to be removed from your normal routine. Being away from my
family and friends for the first time in my life, I struggled feeling comfortable in Italy. Slowly, as I
explored my new city, I found places and foods scattered around the city that made me feel like home
; a term that I realized is flexible and does not mean where you are from, but where you live, and this
semester I have learned to live in the moment. Two weeks after arriving in Florence, while walking
home from dinner across the river, stumbled upon Piazza della Signoria, for the first time. With the
sound of a street performer s violin in the crisp night air, I sat on the edge of the open air gallery of
statues. I still do not know why the piazza affected me the way it did, but with tears in my eyes, I
knew I had found a place in Florence where I could be bitter sweetly happy. Piazza di Santa Croce has
a similar affect on me. My favorite time to visit Santa Croce is in the cold early morning when the sky
is still dark and the piazza is at its emptiest. There is something about the stone, the cold, and the
loneliness that makes my heart ache for home in an inexplicable way. Standing alone, it feels like the

Functionalist Perspective on Dating, Courting, and Other...
Dating, courting, and other pre marriage arrangements are practices that are influenced by the time
period, social conditions and constructs, biology, cultural norms, and institutional structures that
surround people. Dating has changed a lot in the past century. In the 1920 s to 1940 s, dating involved
a more informal dating. For the first time there were no chaperones on dates between males and
females. The dates required no formal commitment to each other and there was more freedom.
Previously the community and church established the dating rules, but now peers institute the rules.
Instead of the man coming to the women s house, They went out where it required money. It is said
that there was a control issue surrounding the change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To understand dating, courting, and other pre marriage arrangements we must look at a particular time
and place to understand the ways in which a society works and therefore how the people in that
society go about activities like dating. In modern America, dating has emerged as an activity that is
not often regulated by adults as it once had been. There are many explanations for this change
including the change in lifestyle that industry and technological advances have brought about.
Sociologists point out that the idea of romantic love did not even exist prior to the industrial
revolution. Marriage was an institution that allowed a man and woman to enhance their chances of
survival and quality of life with one another. Romantic love as we now know it did not exist as a
concept. After the industrial revolution when people did not depend on each other as much to survive,
the idea of romantic love first appeared. After this time some feminists and sociologists point out that
marriage and motherhood was used to subjugate women to men and to keep them out of the work
force. Dating at a young age is characterized as fun and is done for companionship rather than as a
serious activity for the purpose of finding a lifelong mate. Group dating is a way in which students
have been able to move away from traditional, two person dating which implies intimacy to them.

Essay on Industry Analysis Chipotle
Industry Analysis
Overview of the Quick Service Industry
The fast food, or quick service restaurant industry (QSR), represents approximately 200,000
restaurants and $155 billion in sales in the U.S. alone, they are one of the largest segments of the food
industry (Hoovers, 2011). This segment of the restaurant industry is highly competitive and
fragmented... number, size and strength of competitors vary by region, market and even restaurant. All
of these restaurants compete based on a number of factors, including taste, quality, speed of service,
price and value, name recognition, restaurant location, customer service and the ambience and
condition of each restaurant (Chipotle, 2010).
The QSR industry is seeing growth due to the fact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Changes in customer preferences, general economic conditions, discretionary spending priorities,
demographic trends, traffic patterns and the type, number and location of competing restaurants have a
moderate effect on the restaurant industry (Chipotle, 2010). One example of customer preferences
being a driver in the industry is the Whole Food ism Movement which has put a large focus on
organic, antibiotic free, and non processed foods (Mansolillo, 2007). Consumers now look for
healthier options when eating and an overall healthier lifestyle. Chipotle has been able to benefit from
this movement by carrying on their Food with Integrity mission (Chipotle, 2010).
Due to economic downturn the strength of the buyers power has increased as the industry looks to
gain consumers with pricing strategies much like those of McDonald s Value Menu and combination
meals even though the cost of commodities have gone up (James, 2010). Customers of QSRs are
looking for quality food without high costs. While Chipotle does not have a value menu or offer any
type of combination meal much of their success is due to the fact that the customers are willing to pay
a higher cost for higher quality (Chipotle, 2010).

Essay Cover Letter For Store Manager

Re: Store Manager Operations position | SW Raleigh, NC (New Store) | Raleigh, NC, 27523
INTRODUCTION
I am proud to present my resume for the position of Store Manager Operations. I m excited by the
prospect of returning to retail, managing store level operations, providing outstanding customer
service, driving sales, and being responsible for the learning, growth, and development of the next
generation of retail leaders!
I have the skills and qualifications to accomplish everything you re looking for in a retail manager,
and I can contribute much more. I ve been in retail my entire adult life (except the last 15 months),
and I have a tremendous record of success ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Your associates delivered beyond expectations, and she ended up returning the product to your
competitor and purchasing from you because of it. So I visited your store while I was in town
(Cumming, GA). I m impressed with the store layout, the service, and the quality of retailing, in
general. And being an outdoor/sports enthusiast, the positive experience resonated with me. I did more
research after returning to the Raleigh area, and I m excited to learn that you re opening a store nearby.
ABOUT MY RESUME
I have enormous respect for tradition, but occasionally it creates barriers to success. For example,
recapping 20+ years of responsibilities, achievements, purposeful skill development, and complex
contributions in two pages doesn t do justice to recruiters, hiring managers, employers, or people
changing careers. And Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) add more restrictions and nuances to the
process.
The resume I ve submitted attempts to summarize my most relevant experience based on the job
description, but the chances are good that you ll be looking for things that didn t make the cut. Rest
assured, if it s related to retail, leadership, management, general business acumen, operations, training,
communications, sales, or customer service, I probably have in depth experience. But even if I don t, I
ll figure it out quickly, guaranteed.
WHY ME?
My resume just covers the highlights.

Full House Vs Modern Family
Have you ever wondered if there is a difference between sitcoms back then and now? This paper is
going to compare and contrast the differences between an episode of Full House and an episode of
Modern Family. We are able to spot notable differences and similarities by comparing the characters,
plot, and setting for both of these sitcoms. First off we are going to compare the characters. As shown
in Modern Family, Manny steals a necklace on accident and does not want to have to own up to it.
Manny is very proper and acts more like an adult than a kid. He cares a lot about his appearance and
usually does not steal but may have inherited this from his mom, Gloria (Gloria grew up in Columbia
and had many bad influences as a kid such as stealing). Manny can be related to Stephanie in Full
house because she also makes a mistake, She cuts Jessie s precious hair. Stephanie is kind of stubborn

In modern Family there are multiple setting because they are able to go to many places to film. In the
episode they start in a grocery store ,then go to Manny s house, then the school, then Phil s house, and
the Cams house. In modern family they have cell phones and much more modern clothing than it was
in Full House. As in Modern Family when Claire had to prove she was right, This entailed going to the
store and buying the tapes to show that she was wrong. In the past you couldn t just got to the store to
buy the video camera recordings. They didn t even have cameras to record what you were doing. This
is very different than Full House in which the main settings are all at one house. The consist of
upstairs, downstairs, and the backyard. Throughout the episode they do not show any other places.
With the power of technology we are about to now go to many different places. Also in Full House
they have laugh reels ,that are not very believable, to show the audience when something funny has

Internet Censorship In China
The technology revolution is already upon us. In today s world we are able to communicate over
thousands of miles within seconds, whereas only 100 years ago it would take months. This is all due
to computer technology and the creation of the internet. The internet connects billions of users
worldwide and is an essential part of how we work, play, communicate, educate, conduct commerce,
and much much more. We literally use the internet to do most of our daily tasks and we are now able
to do more things that used to seem unimaginable. This of course, comes with the good and the bad.
During the past decade, our society has become obsessed on the ability to move large amounts of
information across large distances as quickly as possible (Warf). Computerization and the internet has

Many countries like China, already limit what negative political ads there are on the internet in the
name of security and social stability. The Chinese government mandates users of the Internet and e
mail to register within the government itself, so that they can monitor their internet activities (King).
That seems more like an authoritarian government than communism. Even in the United Kingdom,
which we sometimes view similar to the US in political ideology, have state secrets and personal
attacks off limits on the Internet. But since the internet is a global system, many citizens within these
oppressive countries have used smartphone technology, specifically VPN, to override their
government s big brother eyes. Using a virtual private network (VPN) enables the user to send and
receive data across shared or public networks as if their device was directly connected to another
network. In other words, someone in China can use a VPN to make it seem like they were connecting
to the internet via another location or even country with less

How Does Parenting Style Raise Healthy Children
Discussion After looking at several articles I can now determine which parenting style is more
appropriate to raise healthy children. Based on research parents who have a permissive behavior or
lack of interest are less active than those who are raised by parents who discipline with authoritarian/
authoritative styles. Parenting styles have to be looked at hand in hand with their eating habits because
it would bring understating to why certain parenting styles have a higher likelihood of being
overweight than others. Findings from reading the scholarly articles suggest that the children of
parents who monitored and reinforced healthy behaviors ate more healthy foods and less unhealthy
foods, and were more physically active compared with the

Verizon SWOT Analysis This paper is to decide whether to invest in a company. The company I have
chosen is Verizon Communication. I will conduct a SWOT analysis define the elements of the SWOT
analysis, and identify the most relevant parts of the analysis. I will then identify Verizon s
stakeholders, both internal and external and describe the stakeholders needs and wants. Finally I will
discuss how Verizon is fulfilling the stakeholders wants and needs.

The two companies are locked in a market share grudge match. This almost dead heat competition can
leave the door for the smaller competitors like T Mobile and Sprint to come in with small possible
innovation to unseat Verizon. Also government regulations and rulings have impacted Verizon s
growth. Earlier this year the FCC rejected Verizon s merger with T Mobile (Kirby, 2012).
Relevant Issues The areas that are the most relevant to the decision to invest would be Verizon s
growing 4GLTE network and their limited international reach. The 4GLTE network shows that
Verizon is committed to future growth. International markets are huge opportunities for expansion and
while a large risk, can be a big section for Verizon.
Verizon Stakeholders Verizon Communications stakeholders fall into two categories, internal and
external. Verizon internal stakeholders are their employees. Verizon s external stakeholders are
customers and investors.
Internal Wants and Needs Verizon s employees wants and needs are a high priority for the company.
Verizon asked an independent research firm to poll people from a wide range of Verizon s
organization. The results were very good. According to Verizon s website (2012) About 4 in 10
consider Verizon s CR programs to be excellent; 8 in 10 consider them to be excellent or good.
External Wants and Needs Customer satisfaction is

Caribbean Influence
Pirates and their Influence through the Caribbean People who adopted piracy had to adapt because of
colonialism and the battles between England and the Spanish. Those who couldn t find work chose to

  • 2. Avoiding Probate In New Jersey The process of dividing and distributing a person s assets after death, called probate, can be time consuming and expensive. In order to avoid probate and save their families the hassle of hiring attorneys and waiting months to receive the gifts mentioned in a will, many people structure their estates in a way that circumvents the probate court system. In New Jersey, an experienced estate planning attorney can draft documents which transfer ownership of real estate, bank accounts, or other property immediately after a person s death without the added inconvenience of going to court. However, these types of transfers only work if property is title correctly and the estate plan is updated frequently. Avoiding Probate During probate court proceedings, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When two people own property together as joint tenants, there is a right of survivorship after death. For example, if a father and daughter purchased a car together, both would each own a one half interest in the car and would each have the right to use the vehicle during their lifetimes. After one person dies, their one half interest automatically transfers to the other person, without needing to go through the probate court. Joint tenancy can be used for nearly every type of property, including real estate, bank accounts, and general personal property. In New Jersey, married couples who own property in joint tenancy are said to take the property as tenants by the entirety. Both joint tenancy and tenancy by the entirety work in exactly the same way to avoid probate. There are several drawbacks to joint tenancy which may be a cause for concern. First, joint tenancy allows each owner equal rights to use the property. For example, if two people owned a bank account in joint tenancy, there is nothing which would prevent one owner from emptying the account before the other s death. In addition, joint tenancy would not prevent an estate from going to probate if both joint tenants died simultaneously, like in a car crash or other accident. Living ... • 3. A Streetcar Named Desire By Blanche Dubois The character of Blanche Dubois in the play A Streetcar Named Desire is depicted as a victim of her traditional southern upbringing, she struggles to find her place in society where the values of a Southern Belle are no longer relevant nor exist. Blanche Dubois is portrayed as the weaker sex, who is then over powered by Stanley Kowalski, her sister s working class husband. Blanche Dubois shows a great psychological instability when she is unable to live up to the expectations of a classic and proper Southern Belle. This psychological instability ultimately leads to her to have a metal breakdown, the play ends with Blanche being committed to a mental institution. Blanche Dubois was raised on the social standard of Southern Belle and her primary goal in life was, according to Southern tradition, was to seek the security of marriage. Unfortunately, she chooses suitors who are not the best companions. Blanche marries Allan Grey for love at a very young age only to find her dreams shattered by her husband s infidelity with another man. Blanche displays deep seated psychological instability when she is unable to live up to her expectations as a properly raised Southern belle and also by Stanley s brutally raping of her, which was to exert his domination over a female victim. To understand Blanch Dubois mental state, we must understand the ideology of the Southern Belle. Southern belles were raised as sheltered, beautiful, and chaste daughters to become idyllically protected ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. April Morning By Howard Fast Analysis A redcoat soldier raised his musket, leveled it at Father, and fired (Fast 100). April Morning is written by Howard Fast and takes place on April 17th, 1775 at the start of the revolutionary war in Lexington, Massachusetts. Moses Cooper is a major character and also the antagonist to Adam because he and Adam are always fighting and Moses doesn t let Adam grow up. Although Moses was hard to understand, he was an affectionate, opinionated and respected man. Moses and affection do not go hand and hand and its only sometimes when he says he loves Adam. Hate him! My father exploded. Of all the crazy notions! Of all the idiotic ideas! There a boy, my first born son why how could any man love a son any more than I love that boy? Now where could he have gotten an idea as unreasonable as that (Fast 45)? Moses is now realizing how Adam feels about him and although Moses does not say he loves him outright, Adam hears him and has a new perspective of his dad. Moses realizes that his words have a bigger impact on Adam than he thinks. Come to think about it, I have been hard on the boy. That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moses uses many descriptive words show how he feels and he has opinions just as strong about how to handle the British. We have a position and principles... and if they do come and see that we stand firm with some show of force, why, then they ll respect us (Fast 74). • 6. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Peer To Peer Lenders Peer to Peer lending is a unique method that links borrowers and lenders relatively quick and inexpensive without financial intermediaries. With technological advances in recent years including the boom of electronic money, transactions in peer to peer lending programs have become more and more commonly used around the globe. This type of financial service carries both advantages (peer to peer communities have a quick and easy online application process for both lenders and borrowers (Schneider 2008)) and disadvantages (potential exposure to more risk) for those lending their funds as well as people taking out these loans. Borrowers can experience unique advantages through peer to peer lending compared to other types of financial loan methods. For example, If a potential borrower bears a shaky financial history but a sympathetic story as to why they think they should qualify for a loan, a lender can still grant a loan and choose to undergo a higher rate of return, assuming there is greater risk to fund this loan (Schneider 2008). Financial institutions such as banks or credit unions that would normally turn away these people, borrowers have an increased opportunity with peer to peer lending (Schneider 2008). Additionally, a borrower gets a more favorable interest rate on their loan than one would otherwise have gotten from funding elsewhere say through a bank or a credit card company because they have a pool of potential lenders to choose from (Investopedia 2017). ... • 8. The Creation Of A Wolf-Rayet Star Abstract Stars are made from an interstellar gas cloud. It was believed that in the process of forming a star, the cloud released material onto the interstellar disk in which the stars gradually accumulated it. However, because some stars seemed to have a drastic increase of brightness in a short amount of time, this idea had to be reconsidered. The stars that went through this process seemed to maintain their high luminosity for about 100 years. Astrophysicist Eduard Vorobyov suggested the idea that the material surrounding a forming star fragments off into clumps and is consumed by the star in a process that he describes as cannibalism on astronomical scales. Because these clumps are large, they release a large amount of energy when consumed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These stars usually lose their outer layers, which are mostly composed of hydrogen. As is known, many stars in our universe are binary star systems; binary star systems allow for the pair of stars to exchange mass and gravitationally affect one another. Because Wolf Rayet stars are usually in binary systems, astronomers hypothesize that the star is growing because it is exchanging mass with the other star essentially, it is gradually consuming the other star. Since the Wolf Rayet star is surrounded by a large disk, it is possible that the Wolf Rayet is forming a nebula (a disk) where star formation may occur, (5). The forming star now undergoes its own process of, as Voyobyov puts it, cannibalism on astronomical scales, (4). As observed with hydrodynamic simulations, ...gravitationally unstable disks can exhibit FU Orionis type outbursts when fragments are driven onto the protostar..., (2). In other words, more mass added to the disk that surrounds a forming star would make the disk unstable and cause fragmenting to occur. Hence, the fragments will most likely interact with the forming star causing these outbursts of energy (3). The outbursts of energy are caused by both of the reasons stated previously. According to astronomers, the one idea that has been ruled out, however, is that these stars are growing to the size of a Wolf Rayet star solely by their stellar winds. In fact, their ... • 10. Romance in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley Essay Romance in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley The Romantic Movement in England, and subsequently in America, occurred in the late 18th to the early 19th centuries. In her novel Frankenstein, Mary Shelley conforms to many literary trends that were used by the romantics. One literary trend of the romantic era is for the story to be set in a very remote or foreign place. Possibly, the purpose of having a story set in a foreign place was to create a realm that is entirely different from the known world of the reader. After all, for a monster in an apartment in the middle of London would hardly have been believable. Above all, the Romantic writer s objective was to create new and/or different worlds so that their readers would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, since Victor bases his creation on a situation such as death is can also be ruled gothic. After the death of his mother Victor begins his voyage to find himself. He is on his way to the great unknown, experiencing something new, and possibly trying something that has never been tried before. It can also be viewed as romantic because this departure from his mother may have leaded him to find life somewhere else. Victor started to believe that he could bring people back from the grave. Playing with nature in such a way would make him play the role of God. Victor felt that he had no true friends, the only relief he had of expressing his feeling was through letters to Elizabeth. He desperately tries to befriend members of society, but utterly fails at each attempt. Both his mother s absence and his loneliness may have leaded him to create his creature. Male dominancy is a huge characteristic of gothic work done in the 18th and 19th centuries; Shelly exemplifies this in many ways. After the death of his mother, a man now leads Victor s house. Victor goes off to an all male school where he is surrounded my nothing but males. Victor became so self absorbed into his project that he seem to forget all that was important to him. • 11. Objectivity And The Phenomenological Reduction Objectivity is a funny way of people justifying their own subjections. Edmund Husserl is the guy to talk to if you want to be confused by what objectivity means. I say confused, because Husserl s path through the end product of the phenomenological reduction leads him to contradictions, which generate revisions of his investigation. Eventually his revisions lead to a happy phenomenological objective ending and will be discussed along with another objectivity viewpoint: The View from Nowhere. Lastly I ll give you my objective/subjective opinion on which objectivity I think is more convincing. Objectivity to Husserl is what he considered the phenomenological reduction. The aim of the initial phenomenological reduction is to individuate correctly the domain of pure consciousness as the domain of meaning constitution (Moran 78). I ll attempt to use logic as an example: the proper object of logic is to study the relationship between the contents of expressions and what is being expressed; Modus Ponens states that if p then q is accepted, and the antecedent p holds, then the consequent q may be inferred. Logic is only interested in the functional relation between the truth value of p and q in the domain where Modus Ponens is applicable. Because logic, in one domain is only interested in the functional relation between p and q, its overall truth value is limited to a one sided truth. Logic deals with validities and the laws in which hold between them. Ideal laws of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of this, Bixi based systems had been sold to a number of cities in the past two years, including MinneapolisSt Paul, Melbourne, Washington D.C., London, Toronto, and Boston. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... THE PUBLIC BIKE SYSTEM COMPANY AND THE BIXI SYSTEM The development of the Bixi system started with a decision made by the Montreal city council to provide the city with a bike sharing system. The decision was part of Reinvent Montreal : an ambitious program that aimed to significantly reduce automobile dependence by 2020. Initial funding was provided for the project, with the expectation of the system to become self sufficient within a year of its launch. Contrary to other cities that outsourced their systems to outside operators, Montreal was to run the system itself. A system run and operated by the city could provide greater coordination with the bus and subway system, which was perceived as an important advantage. The program was also to be funded through membership fees: opportunities for advertisement revenues (which are typically used to cover the operating expenses of bike sharing systems) were estimated to be too limited in Montreal to offer a viable option. The mandate for the bike sharing system was given to the Montreal Parking Authority. The Montreal Parking Authority was considered less bureaucratic than other city departments, and it was believed that they were in a position to move the project forward within a short timeframe. It also had the advantage of being knowledgeable about the transit system. It was Roger Plamondon, President and CEO of the Montreal Parking Authority, who was in charge of the project. • 18. Evaluating The Security Of A System Or Computer Network Introduction In this report I will explain three penetrations methods. The three methods are: OSSTMM Method, DOS and VMs penetrations testing. A penetration test is a method to evaluate the security of a system or computer network. This method allows to simulate an attack and find exploitable vulnerabilities to propose an action plan to improve the security. There are two types of penetration testing: the pentest in Black Box or pentest in White Box. The pentester in Black Box mode really puts in the skin of an external attacker, he has no information on the target. The pentester in White Box mode work in collaboration with the DSI and the technical team in order to get maximum information for the penetration test. The objective of pentester can vary according to context:  List a set of information found in one way or another, and which may be sensitive or critical.  List the vulnerabilities or weaknesses in the security system that can be exploited.  Demonstrate that a potential attacker s capacity to find vulnerabilities and exploit them to break into the information system.  Test the effectiveness of intrusion detection systems and responsiveness of the security team, and sometimes users.  Perform a final presentation and reporting its progress and its findings to the client.  Provide ideas and advise on methods of resolution and correction of discovered vulnerabilities. Her gaze is aimed up toward the viewer but do not appear to be making contact with the camera. She appears to look through the viewer or past them, but not into them. The use of color in Addario s image is striking, the color in the women s dress is colorful. Many of the women are adorning colorful headscarves in addition to their vibrant colored dresses. The use of lighting and color truly make the photograph eye catching but does not take away to the suffering seen through the expressions and body language of the women. Fagus Grandifolia And Acer Saccharum Case Study Prevalence of Fagus grandifolia and Acer saccharum at Case Western Reserve University farm Gowtham Yerneni Case Western Reserve University Introduction A key component of any ecosystem on Earth is the presence of plants. Within these plants, variation and diversity are abundant. Plants can vary in many characteristics, such as leaf structure, height, bark structure, and diameter at breast height. The culmination of this variety among plants is termed the biodiversity of plants, which encompasses three realms: species diversity, genetic diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Species diversity pertains to the variety of species in a specific ecosystem. Genetic diversity refers to variation in specific traits among individuals of the same species. Finally, ecosystem diversity refers to the variation of ecosystems in a specific area. For purposes of this study, we will only focus on species diversity. Studying species diversity of plants entails measuring the amount and size of different species in a given area. The importance of this type of study stretches far beyond observation and results. Species diversity among plants in an ecosystem is vital to the sustainability of that ecosystem. An ecosystem with greater species diversity uses its resources more efficiently, making it more productive. In addition, greater plant diversity leads to greater community biomass due to reduced nutrient loss and increased carbon reserves (Tilman et al., 1997). Our study primarily ... • 25. The Merchant Of Venice, Antony And Cleopatra, And Dr Faustus Whilst the writer s selection of place bears great significance throughout many eras, the Renaissance period is particularly fascinating in relation to setting. These playwrights were living through an extraordinary and unprecedented flowering of drama and, consequentially, were afforded opportunities that would have been unimaginable even a century before. The flourishing of drama necessitated the creation of playhouses, in which setting could be conveyed more accurately and elaborately than in the millennia that preceded. The combination of the uninhibited creativity associated with the Renaissance and the realisation of the new possibilities of the commercial stage facilitated an extremely nuanced and complex exploration of setting and place; providing us with some of the most memorable and meaningful settings ever featured in literature. Setting provides a unique opportunity, if chosen astutely, for the playwright to communicate narrative, and shape character, without having to explicitly or linguistically express it. I intend to focus The Merchant of Venice, Antony and Cleopatra, and Dr Faustus in order to display how setting directly affects the plot and often aids in forging our understanding of identities within the play. Through consideration of the implications and ideals attached to the settings presented throughout the texts, we can more accurately infer the sentiments of the writer and understand the ways in which place gives impetus to plot. And, of course, the characters always returned the next week with no injuries or damages. This gives young minds a sense that they, too, are indestructible. Hundreds of programs contain characters with immortal attitudes. Attitudes that rub off on children. Even more disturbingly, some children begin to view the world as mean and dangerous as it appears on television. Preschoolers lack the cognitive ability to distinguish fact from fantasy, especially because the vividness of television makes everything seem quite real. Crime is at least ten times more prevalent on TV as in the real world.(2) But children, and society, have a good reason to be worried. Half of North America s murders and rapes can be attributed, either directly or indirectly, to television viewing. Many times the criminal simply copies a television or movie plot. In reference to the House of leaves, it is obvious that the tension of madness is neither observable nor openly stated; a phenomenon that reveals that madness is not easily detectable. This is what triggers Gothic plots to have a positive development as they mainly focus on revealing the why and what of the occurrence of an event. It is evident that wider experiences, techniques, psychological knowledge as well as craftsmanship have tremendously advanced such that the earlier Gothic work seems artificial and naïve (Lovecraft, 2013). As Crawford (2014) reveals, the theme of madness runs through most Gothic narratives and is usually enunciated by the characters where they often question their own sanity or that of their fellow characters. Madness in Gothic is not simply a fictional aspect of genres. The theme also incorporates social implications most notably when viewed in the perspective of Victorian England. Gothic madness references in relation to literature ascended in the context of a society that is not only fascinated but also repelled by madness (Punter, 2012). This is evident in Dracula by Bram Stoker where attempts of containing madness has proven to have a reverse effect of concealing the periphery that separates mad people from normal ones. If you believe your catalytic converter is leaking, be sure to look for oil or transmission fluid. If you notice a leak, be sure to look at the converter casing for signs of damage. 2. Unusual Rattling Noise Another symptom that your catalytic converter is damaged is an unusual rattling noise. In general, your vehicle shouldn t make any odd or loud noises. • 39. Analysis Of George Washington s Farewell Address The document, George Washington, Farewell Address, was a letter written to the citizens of the United States of America. It allowed outgoing President Washington to give advice on how to maintain the nation after he was gone. He advised our politicians to act in good faith towards all nations and to make an effort to keep peace with other countries. He cautioned to remain connected to God, maintain high moral principles and to set a good example, one that is guided by a sense of justice and kindness. He also advised that favoritism, not be shown toward or hostilities against other nations as this would cloud our judgment. He told us to remain neutral and detached since that would keep the country from being dragged into a fight. Having favorite nations could pull the nation into a war that it never wanted to be involved in. A nation that has a devoted attachment to another could find itself involved without merit in their affairs and might become controlled involuntarily by their actions. He implored the people of this nation to not allow foreigners to influence our policies or our actions as a nation. He advised us to trade freely with others, but keep politics at bay and to keep our already formed alliances but create no more. He implored that America remain free of European entanglements and that due to our location it should be easy to do. We have no business in their business. Being away from my family and friends for the first time in my life, I struggled feeling comfortable in Italy. Slowly, as I explored my new city, I found places and foods scattered around the city that made me feel like home ; a term that I realized is flexible and does not mean where you are from, but where you live, and this semester I have learned to live in the moment. Two weeks after arriving in Florence, while walking home from dinner across the river, stumbled upon Piazza della Signoria, for the first time. With the sound of a street performer s violin in the crisp night air, I sat on the edge of the open air gallery of statues. I still do not know why the piazza affected me the way it did, but with tears in my eyes, I knew I had found a place in Florence where I could be bitter sweetly happy. Piazza di Santa Croce has a similar affect on me. My favorite time to visit Santa Croce is in the cold early morning when the sky is still dark and the piazza is at its emptiest. There is something about the stone, the cold, and the loneliness that makes my heart ache for home in an inexplicable way. Dating, courting, and other pre marriage arrangements are practices that are influenced by the time period, social conditions and constructs, biology, cultural norms, and institutional structures that surround people. Dating has changed a lot in the past century. In the 1920 s to 1940 s, dating involved a more informal dating. For the first time there were no chaperones on dates between males and females. The dates required no formal commitment to each other and there was more freedom. Previously the community and church established the dating rules, but now peers institute the rules. Instead of the man coming to the women s house, They went out where it required money. It is said that there was a control issue surrounding the change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To understand dating, courting, and other pre marriage arrangements we must look at a particular time and place to understand the ways in which a society works and therefore how the people in that society go about activities like dating. In modern America, dating has emerged as an activity that is not often regulated by adults as it once had been. There are many explanations for this change including the change in lifestyle that industry and technological advances have brought about. Sociologists point out that the idea of romantic love did not even exist prior to the industrial revolution. Marriage was an institution that allowed a man and woman to enhance their chances of survival and quality of life with one another. Romantic love as we now know it did not exist as a concept. After the industrial revolution when people did not depend on each other as much to survive, the idea of romantic love first appeared. After this time some feminists and sociologists point out that marriage and motherhood was used to subjugate women to men and to keep them out of the work force. Dating at a young age is characterized as fun and is done for companionship rather than as a serious activity for the purpose of finding a lifelong mate. Group dating is a way in which students have been able to move away from traditional, two person dating which implies intimacy to them. Doing things in groups saves ... Changes in customer preferences, general economic conditions, discretionary spending priorities, demographic trends, traffic patterns and the type, number and location of competing restaurants have a moderate effect on the restaurant industry (Chipotle, 2010). One example of customer preferences being a driver in the industry is the Whole Food ism Movement which has put a large focus on organic, antibiotic free, and non processed foods (Mansolillo, 2007). Consumers now look for healthier options when eating and an overall healthier lifestyle. Chipotle has been able to benefit from this movement by carrying on their Food with Integrity mission (Chipotle, 2010). Due to economic downturn the strength of the buyers power has increased as the industry looks to gain consumers with pricing strategies much like those of McDonald s Value Menu and combination meals even though the cost of commodities have gone up (James, 2010). Customers of QSRs are looking for quality food without high costs. While Chipotle does not have a value menu or offer any type of combination meal much of their success is due to the fact that the customers are willing to pay a higher cost for higher quality (Chipotle, 2010).
