an extra emphasis on those that served in Afghanistan and Iraq (OEF/OIF veterans). It is no
surprise that returning veterans suffer from both visible/invisible (physical and mental) wounds.
Most veterans have this high expectation that they are going to receive quality care from both the
DoD and VA. Unfortunately reality steps in where veterans are slapped in the face because they
are receiving a lack of poor quality care all while jumping through Beuracractic hoops. The
challenges faced to access these services include resistance, stigma, lack of professionalism, and
geographic and/or regional disparities in the distribution of services resources and/or benefits, and

crop duster sequence of North by Northwest (Alfred Hitchcock, USA, 1959) By focusing on these
three techniques I hope to establish what effect they have on us and how that effect is achieved? I
will look closely and analyse certain shots in this sequence, which I feel are significant in creating
suspense. By dissecting the layers of each shot, I hope to reveal the technique and intentions behind
them.
The first significant shot I will discuss is just after Eva Marie Saint s face dissolves. This
extreme aerial shot established the vast area in which Cary Grant faces. The camera stays in its
fixed high angle as a bus approaches with Grant. The bus drives off and the camera angle and
frame do not change. This establishes the setting for the viewers. Such extreme high angle shots
make characters into pawns (E. Roger, 2008, 4). In other words it evokes the insignificance of a
single human being in such a vast and secluded area.
With nothing around the slow pacing in the beginning of this sequence can be seen as a tantalising
build up of suspense, not knowing what to expect. It cuts to a long shot and low angle as Grant

Many of us watch the Super Bowl to check out what we expect to be the most innovative and

The United Kingdom s Economy After The European Union
Early this year the United Kingdom held a referendum to decide whether to leave or stay apart of
the European Union. This event is called the Brexit (Britain exiting the European Union), but even
though the acronym only includes Britain it means the entirety of the United Kingdom. In the
referendum, most of England and Whales voted to leave while Northern Ireland and Scotland voted
to stay. Ultimately the United Kingdoms vote was won in favor of leaving the EU with a 51.9%
vote to stay and a 48.1% vote to leave (BBC News). Now the question is what does this mean for
the UK and how will this impact its economy in the future? It may be too early to tell how this will
play out, but for us to identify what is happening now we must thoroughly and truly understand the
reasons for this Brexit in the first place.
By looking at the United Kingdom s economy after the referendum, it seems that nothing has
drastically changed. According to the Financial Times the Britain s GDP economic growth is
slow compared to previous years; In the second quarter of 2012 their growth was at 1.1% which
was the highest they ve had since 2005 where it was a 1.3% growth. The Britain s economic
growth now is .5%; but why is that? How could they have gone from a 1.3% growth to .5% in four
years? Well, the 3rd quarter of 2012 the Britain s when through a shattering recession where
economic growth plummeted to a .8% growth. Since then the Britain s has been fighting to keep
